Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to the Stuck no More podcast, where your voice finds strength and your life finds freedom.
- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm Teresa Croft and I'm so honored.
- 0:08Speaker 1: You're here, whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck or silently caring more than you can handle.
- 0:13Speaker 1: This is your invitation to breathe, to pause, to choose, to remember.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You're just one encounter away from stepping into your purpose.
- 0:24Speaker 1: To remember.
- 0:26Speaker 1: You're just one encounter away from stepping into your purpose.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You are not stuck.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Shift your focus.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Overwhelm is a signal, not a sentence.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Overwhelm comes at you Next thing you know.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You feel like you have so much to do, so many vessels to fill, and you don't know where to start.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Overwhelm can come in the form of fear I don't know if I can do this.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Overwhelm can come in the form of an attack on your identity.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Don't want that to happen.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So let me share three keys can I, of how to overcome overwhelm and make it a power source instead of a leaking out force.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Let yourself know.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's a signal, maybe, for some inner checks on your heart.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So the key is to shift your focus.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Overwhelm is not your identity, okay.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's just a signal, maybe, that you're carrying too much, trying too hard, pushing through and striving.
- 1:24Speaker 1: The first step is recognizing it, but instead of spiraling, you ask God, god, what are you showing me here?
- 1:33Speaker 1: What do you want me to release back to you?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Overwhelm is a holy invitation to declutter not just your schedule but your soul.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And John 15 says apart from me, you can do nothing.
- 1:50Speaker 1: He's not condemning you, he's inviting you into the abiding life, the abiding where you stay in the vine.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You stay connected to him, you listen to him from the overflow of relationship with God.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So shift number one is shift your focus.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Key number two is don't manage it alone.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Lean into God's grace.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You know, when God calls you to something, he oftentimes gives you the grace to walk there.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And with that grace is the supernatural power to walk there.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Romans 5, 17 says we are to reign in life through the abundance of grace.
- 2:31Speaker 1: God calls you to reign in life.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Check out chapter one in the Passion Translation.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's actually Proverbs one, where we're called to reign in life.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Jesus was the substitute, so he reigned, but we get to reign in life with him.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Grace is not just a nice idea.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It's a supernatural empowerment to handle what we can't handle on our own.
- 2:57Speaker 1: When you feel overwhelmed, the natural tendency is to try harder or withdraw.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But what if, instead, you paused and choose to receive his grace like fresh rain on a dry ground.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Say out loud, say it again.
- 3:20Speaker 1: When you do this, when you realize that you're held by him, your sense of the load just very well might get lighter, not because it disappears, but because you're no longer carrying it all alone.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Number three let overwhelm redirect yourself back to your purpose.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Overwhelm is often the result of losing sight of what really matters.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know I was overwhelmed last year because I was trying a couple different businesses.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Did you hear that?
- 4:06Speaker 1: A couple different businesses, instead of focusing on my true love and that's you and helping you find your voice, share your voice.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Create a podcast from the overwhelm.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I had just gotten off track and I was trying this business.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I was using this system and then I was trying this business along with this business, and I was overwhelmed.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It's a terrible feeling.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Overwhelm produces the ground where fear manifests and you start thinking you're not enough.
- 4:39Speaker 1: How about?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Overwhelm is just an over possibilities, great possibilities, but you got to choose one.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So let the overwhelm redirect you back to your purpose.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Sometimes, overwhelm is just the result of losing sight of what really matters.
- 4:59Speaker 1: As I was thinking about a couple of different businesses.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I'm thinking, do I want to do the rest of my life?
- 5:06Speaker 1: That doesn't matter to me.
- 5:07Speaker 1: What lines up in my heart makes my heart purr, makes me feel like I'm in the sweet spot is really helping women who feel voiceless find their voice from their identity, teaching the Steck no More method based on biblical principles, and helping them with their voice, creating that podcast, maybe, or speaking on stage or just simply.
- 5:31Speaker 1: How do I communicate online and at the same time introduce my product, my podcast, my ministry, my business, without it feeling salesy?
- 5:42Speaker 1: So overwhelm is a tool of the enemy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I think he loves to distract you with too many good things.
- 5:52Speaker 1: They're good things, so you miss the God things.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You can be overwhelmed by seeing all the good things, but miss the God things, miss those things that God, by his grace, has anointed you to go in that direction and you kind of like you know it, but you have to trust him to walk in it and really the beginning point is to stop and ask God what is really for me in this season?
- 6:22Speaker 1: When you ask that question, you begin to see that much of what is overwhelming you were never assigned to in that particular season.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I have a friend who's got a massive future and all this speaking and group coaching, but she also has two young kids at home.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So that's not.
- 6:42Speaker 1: She's not overwhelmed because she knows what her purpose is for today is to be with their, for her family.
- 6:48Speaker 1: She still works, but limit the overwhelm because she, her assignment still is her family and her husband.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know what happens when you begin to realize there are some things that you're not assigned to.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Clarity comes.
- 7:07Speaker 1: It's like you realign your kingdom assignment.
- 7:12Speaker 1: How do you do that?
- 7:14Speaker 1: You continue to come from the overflow.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You spend time with God, you drink coffee with Jesus and you really come to grips of where your assignment is.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I look back on my notes a year ago and I was so trying to find things out Was I ready?
- 7:30Speaker 1: I was overwhelmed because I hadn't really chosen one, but in the overwhelm I did find healing from my mind.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I learned to speak from my scars, not my wounds.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So sometimes the overwhelm is just a sign that you need to slow down and make sure those open wounds are healed.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Make sure you're dealing with your mental side, dealing with your soul wounds, okay.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And when you do that it doesn't feel overwhelming anymore.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's like, okay, I get to speak to the person I once was, because I've gone through this season and then I begin to see that, okay, this is my season.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Now, instead of trying to push it, you begin to see that much of what is overwhelming you were never assigned to.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's what I realized.
- 8:20Speaker 1: There were a couple of businesses I really wasn't assigned to.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I pushed through and thought I was, but I was overwhelmed.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Clarity comes when you realign with your kingdom assignment, your identity, your voice and your purpose.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Psalm 46, verse 10, reminds us be still and know I am God that silencing yourself in his presence and the stillness often reveals that your overwhelm wasn't about capacity but about misplaced priorities.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Wasn't about capacity, but about misplaced priorities.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Can I say that again, you're overwhelmed wasn't about your capacity, but about misplaced priorities.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So next time you feel overwhelmed, don't try to push through.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Pause and choose.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Pause in his presence and choose what God is leading you to.
- 9:20Speaker 1: When you pause and choose and you drink coffee with Jesus and you spend time in his word, it can be a holy interruption that brings you back to trusting God deeper, leaning into his grace and walking in clarity.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Overwhelm doesn't have to take you out.
- 9:38Speaker 1: It can actually take you in closer into the heart of your father, closer to understanding what your identity really is, and that you don't have to strive to walk in your identity.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You don't have to strive, you don't have to be overwhelmed because you realize from that secret place you can choose and realize this is my season, but I'm going to make sure and wait and then, when I see my season, I'll go all out.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But I won't be overwhelmed because I chose one thing that God wanted me to focus on.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Won't be overwhelmed because I chose one thing that God wanted me to focus on.
- 10:24Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by the Second Nomar Academy.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Right now we're in the wait season for season two, helping faith-filled voices find their voice, create a podcast from the Second Nomar method, which is biblical principles, helping you to break down barriers, break down overwhelm and truly be able to speak, whether that's a podcast or a stage or on social media.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Season one was a smashing success.
- 10:46Speaker 1: We have a wait period, so go ahead and go to the show notes and you can get some valuable resources and also, if you get on the wait list, 15% off season two.
- 10:59Speaker 1: So this is a little different podcast, a little slower, but still from my heart to yours.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I believe you have a voice, and that voice does not have to be smothered with overwhelm.
- 11:12Speaker 1: You just have lots of opportunities to speak.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So choose for the healing, choose for the training, choose to walk in the season.
- 11:21Speaker 1: God's called you.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'll talk to you in the next episode of the Stuck no More podcast.
