Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Hey, welcome Trap Souls Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: We are here with my first ever and the first ever paranormal debate.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: Um, tonight we have Chewy from the Horrorwood the series.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: How are you doing?
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: And our moderator, Spooky Steph.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: We'll just call her Spooky Steph.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: So tonight we are talking about haunted dolls and objects.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: Chewy is a collector.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Stephanie is a collector.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: I am not.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: As you can see, my background compared to their background.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: We're gonna get into this.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: Um, Stephanie's gonna do it.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: I just want everybody out there, I'm not here to debunk haunted dolls or haunted objects.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: I do have my beliefs in them.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: I'm here to make people question why there's so many out there and what are we doing in the paranormal field and which way we're going?
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: I think it's the wrong way.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: So that's why we had a debate.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: So, Stephanie, it's all you.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So I guess my first question for you guys would be um, do you believe haunted dolls actually exist?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Or do you think that most people just misunderstand what haunted dolls actually are?
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Chewy, your guess?
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: I'll let you go first, man.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: Okay, I appreciate it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: Appreciate the first role here.
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: Uh so on the question of do I believe, yes, I do believe, as you can see, I collect for a reason.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: Um now there's a lot I could say about our collection in general, but the topic is haunted dolls and objects as a whole.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: And with that being said, is I do believe, I do I do see a pathway where like obviously I think that people forget that a lot of these haunted objects have a lot of history that go behind them, whether it be, you know, just regular like modern history or it be religious history or whatever the case.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: And I think that's something that I would love to educate people on, or any other investigator would love to, um, or collector would like to to elaborate on.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: Um, but I I I am a firm believer.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Is that it?
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: You're done.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: That's all you got, too.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, we'll get this.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean, no, that's fine.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: It's a long show.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: Like I said, I could go on an extensive uh debate of I can't wait to hear what he has to say.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: All right, that's brilliant.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Well, let me take a little sip of this stuff here out of his trap sold mug.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Traps mug.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: So this is my belief in them.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: So I do believe there are haunted dolls.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: I believe more there are haunted objects more than dolls out there.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Um, my belief in that is because I think you have it has to be personal to you for you to attach to it.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: And we'll get into the whole attachment possession thing a little bit later, but um, to attach to it, you know.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I always say like the desk that the author used, you know, that was something special to him.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: That was something that made him happy.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: That was his best time in his life.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: So I understand why something would be attached to that desk or that piano.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Dolls, I don't understand.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: We don't have a backstory on majority of dolls.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: You can make a girl, you can make one up, yes.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: But usually you grow out of them, unless you're Stephanie, you grow out of dolls.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: I just started, I'm gonna stop you right there because I actually didn't have haunted dolls until just like two years ago.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I didn't have a single doll.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get dolls for my kids to play with, but I just started getting haunted dolls two years ago because of Sierra, but we can get into that later.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, we'll get in that later.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Back to you.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: See, you're messing my train of thought up here, but no, you're talking crap.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Keep going.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I know that's a debate, as we're supposed to.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: So, dolls, what I believe they are, they're clickbait.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Okay, majority of people out there use them for clickbait.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: There are dolls out there that people actually do believe they're haunted, and that's fine.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: I'm sure there are dolls out there that do have an attachment.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Again, just like a haunted place.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: If you ask a doll enough question, something's gonna want to answer you back.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: So if you ask a doll enough question, you'll come just like a you know, haunted place.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: If I sat here in my house and asked a whole bunch of questions, sooner or later spirits are gonna come in because you're giving that attention.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: That's what it is.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: Now, the clickbait stuff, people argue all the time.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Stephanie, you're different.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: You sell haunted dolls.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: This is part of your business.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: I understand.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: You have to put that on social media.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: But every time you get a damn doll and you got you.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Every time someone gets a doll and just post it on Facebook, look at my doll, look at my doll.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: It's haunted.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Prove it, okay?
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: First of all, I think it's rude.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: If there is a spirit attached to that, why are you showcasing it?
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: You're just throwing it out there for the world to see.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: There's only one reason why you're gonna do that.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: That's get followers because it's a trend right now.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Am I able to elaborate on that?
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: Same.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Same.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: So, okay, now that I got your stance, I I I will agree.
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: Obviously, I think all of all of us can agree, or whoever's in the field can agree, there is some kind of clickbait to it.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: It is a trend right now.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: Obviously, some people see you know certain investigators actually investigating and they want to do it.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna say there's a right or wrong way of doing it, but they they take it into a stance of the trend route rather than trying to prove things or you know, fulfill the curiosity with fact.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: And so I I agree with it, it is a trend.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: There can be a trend to it, there is clickbait to it.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: But what I would elaborate on a little more for you is um you were saying that you know dolls have to be personal and more objects out there than there are dolls.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: And I will say I I I hope there's more objects than there are dolls, dolls fall under the category of objects still, technically, if we're if we're being full in there.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: Um but dolls actually started with their spiritual beliefs and attachments and people trying to attach spirits to it in 2000 BC.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: The Egyptians were one of the first cultures to do that, and a lot of it was to uh connect and have the availability to seek knowledge of the afterlife or seek knowledge of uh and insight of the person that they are worshiping, loving, whatever the case, their personal connection, and know how their next life is gonna be.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: And that was the point of it to a lot of these early uh civilizations who did use dolls, and you know, that is the traditional original haunting of a doll is from those beliefs.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I think that was a really good comeback because dolls are haunted objects.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it's an object, so it can be haunted.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I feel like a blanket could be haunted too.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Um, I think a jewelry box, I think many things can be haunted.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: And I do think that we are living in a time where everybody posts everything on social media, whether it's your dog, it's your new place that you got, you made some candles, you just started your business, whatever it is, we all post everything.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: So, yes, I do agree that there are a crowd that goes and specifically gets dog dolls because they want to get attention online and it's just like a clout thing.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: I do get that.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Um, that's not what I do.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Do we all see it?
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, but we see it with everything.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Just like um YouTubers, you know, um one starts one of paranormal.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: You can have people you can have YouTubers that work out, and then another one, it just trickles.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Everybody just kind of trickles off of each other and tries to just be popular, and that's pretty much the end game for a lot of people.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So yeah, they're gonna post their haunted dolls and try to get people to like them and get their views up and things like that.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: But I also think that some people might just post their dolls because they're excited and they might just be new into the paranormal and they might not know that it's disrespectful to post it, or maybe they already asked their doll if they could post it and they allowed them to post it right in because Carmilla here loves to be on camera.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Um, as other dolls, I mean, yeah, I do sell them, but when I sell them like on TikTok live and things like that, some of them don't like being on camera, and you can ask you, like I keep them off to the side and I'll be like, oh, I got this one.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I do just put them on there just because they're mean and nasty, and I'm gonna make them go through something they don't like.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: And um, that's just the end of it for me.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Like that's all I have to say about that.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, you talked about like people posting pictures, like I post in my candles, you got near to tune candles out, right?
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: And then it's the same as people posting haunted dolls, it's not the same.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: I can tell you right now, I have a candle, I light it, it's a freaking candle.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: You cannot say it's a haunted doll when it's just a damn doll.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Okay, not saying they're all not haunted, but there are some people out there that go to the antique store and say, This thing looks creepy, it's haunted because it looks creepy, it's a clown, it has to be haunted.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: No, okay, there's a big difference.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Me posting my little dog, it's a dog, okay.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Like who are your friends on Facebook?
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: I have to ask.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Jesus.
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: I would have to I would have to agree with that.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Who are your friends?
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: Because I I will say for us, like, sure, we'll take items, we put them under study when people donate them or sell them to us, because we do have that scenario.
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: Um, a little background, because I know I didn't give a little bit of background on us.
- 9:41SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I am Chewie.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: I am the owner and founder of Horror with the series.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: We are a YouTube channel, but we also are on all other platforms.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: We investigate different locations, but we also, as we know, this is why I'm here, is uh we have started our own haunted collection.
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: Um, our goal is to either open a haunted museum for our collection or to um purchase a haunted location and fill it with our collection with the purpose to educate and and you know help people see certain aspects of this field.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: And also, with that being said, is for us, a lot of, like I said, we put a lot of items in study when they're where we purchase them or they're donated.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: Um, but a majority of our objects up here too, we always try because of what our goal is to get official paperwork for them.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: A lot of these are very documented and date back to like 1800s or you know, um sooner than that, closer to our date now.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, you said something right there, like you put them through a study.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: That's the difference.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Like a lot of people just buy them and say they're haunted.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: I had a feeling.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, you had a feeling, great.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Okay, so we all have feelings.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: Not me really.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: I don't really have any feelings.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: But I will say with feeling though, you are your you are the best paranormal piece of equipment out there.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: You have to trust your intuition.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: You're not gonna be right every time, but if you trust your intuition, likely the likely outcome is you're feeling something for a reason, whether it is a haunting, or maybe you're feeling a personal connection to just the item itself and it not be haunted.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: But you got to trust your instinct as well because you are the number one piece of equipment on any investigation.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Yes, you are correct.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: And yes, Stephanie, you're a medium, so you have more feelings toward that.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: But we are gonna say that for my next episode, psychics and mediums, coming out next month, probably.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: So we'll talk about those intuitions.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: All right, all right, I mean that's not bad.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: 12 minutes for our first question.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: What else we got, Stephanie?
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, so since you're a skeptic, um why would a spirit choose to attach itself to a doll instead of a person or a location?
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: Okay, so like I said before, like if you give them something else, something enough attention, I think it will attach itself to that certain doll.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: If you sat there and talked to a certain doll for and kept asking questions, and that spirit wants to be heard, because that's what spirits, majority of spirits, I think we're all we're all of us here.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: You know, spirits want to be heard, they want their story out.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: So if you're just what if it's just a doll that was left up in an attic and somebody finds it and nobody, you know what I mean?
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Like no one picked it up out of an antique store, and you got a doll from your great-great-grandma or something that was her great-great-grandma's, something like that, you know, and it hasn't gotten attention.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Why would why would a spirit attach itself to that doll and not a location?
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: It wouldn't.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Why would why would that spirit sit up in an attic for my great-great-grandmother for a hundred years not being talked to?
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: And if I did find that doll, it'd probably stay up in the attic because it does not want to be talked to.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: If she wanted talked to, she would have came downstairs and talked to me.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: True.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: Are you good?
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Am I that's all I gotta say about that?
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: Okay, gotcha, I got you.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: You've done go ahead.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: So you you keep coming to the point of you know, a doll needs it to be a personal connection for it to be haunted or whatever the case, keep asking it questions, eventually something will answer because it wants to be heard.
- 13:38SPEAKER_03: You're not wrong, but at the same time, in my experience, and I think my whole team can it can say this as well, and from the studies we've done, um that's not necessarily always true.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: Because like Steph gave the example of it being in an attic, locked away, never seen until like who knows when.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: And then you go up there to clean out the attic.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: Oh man, uh, rat traps, uh, dust, spiders, uh, oh, what's the doll?
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: And it it definitely can still have an attachment.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: Um, obviously, there's different kinds of attachments out there.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: Um, the most famous one, which everybody always gets worrisome around, is demonic.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Me personally, we do have some demonic pieces up here.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: Um, I throw the word around very lightly because of the simple fact that they have a lot of bang in their buck, but they are not how Western civilization and like movies and entertainment has perceived it to be, you know, and it's really painted a different picture.
- 14:37SPEAKER_03: But going back to the point of why would an entity, spirit, whatever the case, attach itself to a doll, uh, the first point is um a spirit.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: A spirit would be, you know, somebody who was living, once human, once able to walk this earth, they would pick a doll because it's the closest thing, vessel-wise, to an actual human body, which is what they're used to.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: Now, if we go to the entity side of the spectrum, demons and whatever else you want to include in there, um, they would pick something that's human-like because they want to communicate, they want to talk.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: And what's the best way to get somebody to trust you is look like each other, you know?
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: If we look like the same species or similar, it makes me more inclined to talk to you because I'm not gonna go out and talk to a werewolf coyote looking bear just because I feel like it, you know, that would be very uncomfortable.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: Um, but something that's human-like is easier to connect with and talk to, and that's why spirits attach to them because they're either familiar, spirits are familiar because it's the closest thing to a human body, which again is something they're used to.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: Um on the entity spectrum, it's just something that they know we would trust and be easier for us to communicate to them and then be able to communicate back as because that is what they want is the attention to tell their story.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: Um, some of them don't have stories, some of them are just a chaotic ball of mess, you know.
- 16:04SPEAKER_03: And at the end of the day, it's the interaction of the human body resembling a doll.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, it you do make sense there, and I didn't think about this like demonic-wise or darker non-human entities.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: You know, demonic, they try to break you down.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: You know, everybody says there's you know, I hate when you go to pay to these pay-to-play places, there's demonic.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: There's too many people in there, okay?
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: It's too many different people in there.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: You know, demonic wants to break you down until you're more vulnerable.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: But they're they're not gonna be at mass and seminary because they're not gonna break you down because I'm there once every six months.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: But to go on a doll and to break down a kid, that doll's comforting to that kid.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: So I could see that more than I can see Joe Schmoe, who passed away 10 years ago, saying, Oh, Catherine looks cute, I'm attached to her.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: Well, see, and that's that's why we have this debate, is because Mr.
- 17:05SPEAKER_03: 60-year-old grumpy man may look at a doll and be like, That's a baby doll, it looks nothing like me or nothing like my personality.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: But you know what?
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: It looks like a human body.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: I'm going to I'm gonna talk all my smack.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna be all that I am, but I'm I need a vessel that I am familiar with, and that's what it is.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: It's a familiar feel.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: To bounce off of that, you know, Shu, that sometimes the genders are off, like that grumpy old 60-year-old man is inside of a freaking baby, you know, like we've seen some things.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, we have a new piece that's been under study for a uh few weeks now.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: We finally put it in the collection, and it has a rare double attachment, in our opinion.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Um, but from what we've gathered and what we've studied and what paperwork has said on it, um, you know, it's it's a double entity of two males in a baby doll that was part of an arson case.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: So I mean, there's a there's a lot that goes into it, and you know, it's it's familiarity, is all it is.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: And why I I'm just asking, why would you think, you know, what would cause that to happen?
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Why would grown men, you know, straight guys, whatever, attach themselves to one single doll that's a baby doll?
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Do you think that it's because that's the only thing available for them at that time, they have just like a split second to decide if they can hop on something or is it a residual thing, like Ryan's saying, you know, what exactly do you think would cause that to happen?
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: I would say with this particular one in our collection, sure.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: Like I think there's a little bit of residual to it because it was part of the arson case.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: You can tell because the doll has burns, it's beat up, it's it's it's in terrible condition.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: Um, but I would think, and from what we've gathered, you know, one of them is at fault for the arson, if not both of them.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: And I think they connected because it was the only thing that survived the arson case.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: Everything else was ash or completely thrown out because of the fact that it was just burnt that bad.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm not gonna say everything was ash because it wasn't, but but out of the damage the fire did from the arson, the only thing that was in enough shape to hold would be this doll.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: And I think that they the residual of it being the location in the act is what caused them to attach to anything that was available.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: And but I do think that it was very personal as well because they are the either one of them or both of them started this arson case.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: I mean that makes sense when tragedy happens, you know, you can act.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: That's the only thing there.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: You know, what I'd be worried about is those two entities becoming one.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Something that's you know a little meaner, a little grumpy.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Don't get me wrong, they have the grumpy old man feel.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: I I kept asking name, name, name over and over again to see if I could get it multiple times, and uh eventually they got fed up and told me, stop asking me that.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: So this is gonna sound pretty bad.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Chewie.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: But you know, when you're thinking about an entity just choosing a vessel, like a said a 60-year-old man, hey, I want to choose this vessel, you know, maybe this dude was a little crazy and decided to choose a doll.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: And you have a girl man talking to a doll, maybe it makes them feel less crazy.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, I it's so funny.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: So uh recently I got asked um the lady that actually helped us get the paperwork for this arson one, she asked me directly, Do you uh I take it you like dolls?
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: And I told her, Absolutely not, absolutely not, but it comes with the profession.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: I have no choice at this for what I want to do and putting my foot to the pedal, you know.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: I I don't have a choice, you know, it's all items, so that includes dolls.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: But um, but yeah, I yeah, I don't know.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: It's it's just a funny interaction.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: No, I mean it's again, it's this is people say a lifestyle, it's a hobby, whatever you want to call it, and it is fun.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's we get into things that we do, and it is fun.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: I did post that what like a month ago, trying to get you know this heated up a little bit.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Like, how many people would be in asylum right now talking to dolls?
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, and people are upset about that, yeah.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: And I don't see why they should be.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: It's a simple question, it's either you're into it or you're not.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: And I think about everything, it's part of the field, you know.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: If you go back eight years ago, go ahead.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: If you go back eight years ago when trans Allegheny was and all of them were open, I mean you got thrown in there for anything.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine grown ass adults talking to dolls?
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: Like you'd you'd be in there too.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, even if you I wouldn't get caught though.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't get caught.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: That's the difference here.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: See, this is gonna stop.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Really bad joke, but I'm like, see, that's what the witches said during the trials.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: Half of them weren't even witches.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: I know we just covered that topic recently.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: So what are you saying here?
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: They did not be talking.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: I'm just making a joke.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: I'm just making a joke.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: No, I mean, I believe the witch trial was a sham.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think majority are just trying to help people out just because you don't a lot of it was medicine.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's all it was.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Or their husband just didn't want to be with them and just said they were doing something.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: You can do that.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I mean they did.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Joking.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: I'm not, don't they do that now?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I was kidding.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Not in my house, they don't.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, Kyla said maybe they assumed that it was the most likely vessel to be saved and handed to the other humans.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Um, guess we should talk about the one that was in arson.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:52SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, maybe there's a lot of reasons what that could go into it for sure.
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: And like I said, it just passed our um our investigation/slash observation phase.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: So it just got added to the collection now officially.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: And so now that it's out of that phase, now we get to wait for the personality to come out to get more answers to the story, you know, because the initial background is just to confirm what's already documented and what's received.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: Do things go off?
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: Do they not go off?
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: You know, that kind of idea.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: Um, because if nothing goes off, there's no point to put it up here.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, you can just take picture of them put on social media, it's cool.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: Well, how do you know this whatever it is just doesn't want to talk to you?
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: That is a true fact.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, there there's definitely things that won't want to talk to you, but there are methods to see is there any electrical current?
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: Is there anything that bounces without vocally speaking to something to show a possibility of interaction?
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: You know, not everything is going to react by talking, some things interact just by touch, feel, move.
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: Like there's a lot of that on an occurrence.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: We just recently found out somebody likes to toss tennis balls and stuff around the display room.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: Nobody will take credit for it, but somebody does it.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: Stephanie, you're up.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: What?
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: What did you say?
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: Chewy will answer this one first.
- 24:22unknown: Okay.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Sorry, yeah.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: My daughter was saying my name, so I was like, I interacted with both of you guys.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: They're very much like mine.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, so do you think that selling haunted dolls is ethical?
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: Is that the whole question?
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: So ethically, we are human, obviously, with the way life is, the world, the way the world is, if you're in a market, you're gonna want to try to profit.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: I I get that completely.
- 25:03SPEAKER_03: Um, because obviously everybody would love to work in their dream hobby or profession, you know, and not just a nine to five.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: You know, everybody wants to work their what they want to do.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: So I do find it ethical as human beings to sell, but I also find it unethical if you're not if you're like I saw a doll the other day, and it there this doll had no documentation and they had it up for four grand.
- 25:28SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 25:30SPEAKER_03: Like, let's make it make sense, but like also um I do find it ethical that they that people do do the research and you know, actually sit there and incubate to see is this doll, you know, actually active?
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: Is it actually have an attachment?
- 25:46SPEAKER_03: At that point, like I do find it ethical, you know, everybody runs a business.
- 25:50SPEAKER_03: If that's your business, that's your business.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: Me personally, nothing you will see in Horror Woods collection will be ever sold.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: That is for us.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: That is keep that is 100% us.
- 25:59SPEAKER_03: But if if you're in that market to sell, I do find it ethical because again, the number one word is business, and I get it, everything is a business transaction, you gotta make money.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: That's just the way the world is.
- 26:09SPEAKER_03: I do find it ethical as humans, but the only thing that I kind of disagree with professionally and personally is why are we gonna mark an item so high up that doesn't have you know certain history, certain documentation, certain, you know, you gotta, it's just like if you go to buy a fridge, you want the specs on the fridge.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: You're not gonna just drop thousands of dollars on a fridge if if it's the worst fridge ever, but it costs the same as the best fridge ever, you might as well buy the best fridge ever, you know.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: So it's like you need you need concept as to why the price is what it is.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: I don't think certain objects or dolls should be thousands and thousands of dollars.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: Granted, we do have a doll that is a thousand dollars, but Yumiko comes with so much history, so much documentation, so much background story, so many owners who have documented their experiences that were not paranormal, you know, investigators, but still documented it.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: Um, she goes back to histories in Japan that are certain eras.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: You know, she has actu the artist that created her, her vessel.
- 27:14SPEAKER_03: Um, he signed it.
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: So, like, you know what I mean?
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: That goes art, it goes history.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: It goes, so there's a there's a reason why I could see her price tag being up there.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: Thousands is a little tight for me in the sense of like ee a thousand dollars for an item.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: But you know what?
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: It comes with all of that versus you know, some schmo item that you go, I don't know, thrifting for and you do use nothing and you pick it up and you're like, Cool, this doll is haunted, it is now five hundred dollars.
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: No, please sell it for like 30.
- 27:43SPEAKER_03: No, that's all I need to say on it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll jump on that.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: Like you said, like a$4,000 doll.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: It's someone's gonna buy it.
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: That's why they marked it up.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Do they believe it's haunted?
- 27:53SPEAKER_02: Probably not.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: The person that's selling it, the person buying it, yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_02: They're gonna go put it on social media, they're gonna be like, This is the coolest thing ever.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: They're like, Well, that doll's not haunted.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: I paid four thousand dollars.
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: Oh man, that's the most haunted doll ever.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: You know, you pay four thousand dollars.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: I think better start walking up and doing the dishes or something.
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you, better start vacuuming my house.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna block you from seeing my doll post, even though I don't even post them.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Um you have like a vendetta against people posting their dolls.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna post my doll washing dishes and vacuuming now.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, you would sell that for four or five grand, I'm telling you right now.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: But I'm saying that part, you know, is only worth what people pay for.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I definitely agree.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: All of my dolls are honestly pretty much under$30.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: You can ask Chew.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Um, I have to I have to stop, I have to put a limit on him, um, or he would have them all.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: But um, I would say that they talk all the time, they actually chose each other to be with.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: We used the equipment and we had a whole tripwire going, and two of them picked that they were going to the same home because they were best friends and they live happily ever after at Shu's house.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: And I don't know how much he paid, but it definitely wasn't over like$50.
- 29:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, try to keep going down.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: The boss dollar was less than that.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I just think that's wrong.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Um, people that do do that, you know.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Um, you're a liar.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: So why are you marking the price up that high?
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: And what doll is$4,000?
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: You know, unless it's some historical freaking item.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, the most I paid for a doll was a hundred dollars and she's a hundred and two years old.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: I got her in the Smoky Mountains.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, she's the first Dolly Parton music player.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, she is haunted, but we keep her behind the glass and we don't put her on camera because she's crazy as hell.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I would not pay even a thousand dollars too.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, there's no freaking way.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: I didn't want to pay a hundred for her, but I'm gonna go ahead and roll on this and tell you.
- 29:55SPEAKER_03: I'll give you guys the insider.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: So she is valued at a thousand dollars, right?
- 29:59SPEAKER_03: That is what she is worth because of her art concept, her history, her actual paranormal documentation, um, the the religious culture that they have in Japan with her, because she is very strongly tied into those cultural ties.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: But the person who sold her to us, insider for you guys, is they they saw what we did, they saw how serious we are.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: You're not we're not your average person just trying to collect, sell, and or just collect, you know, take a picture and assume the most.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Um, they saw what we do, they saw how much we research, they saw our investigations, they saw everything about us, they talked to us, they met us, they sat down, had dinner with us.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: We got so personal with them that they were like, look, this is what the value is.
- 30:42SPEAKER_03: And it's posted, you can find Yumiko online.
- 30:45SPEAKER_03: You can Google Yumiko the haunted doll, and you'll find her.
- 30:47SPEAKER_03: Or, and my name is attached to her now on Google, which is crazy to me.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: But it'll show you past owners, it'll show you parts of her history.
- 30:55SPEAKER_03: There's some websites that will read her entire history to you and show her value at a thousand dollars.
- 31:01SPEAKER_03: The person that gave her previous owner gave her to us for a lot less than that, that at a very, very, very reasonable price, but her value is a thousand dollars.
- 31:10SPEAKER_03: But they did it because they saw what we do, they saw how serious we are.
- 31:14SPEAKER_03: Um, I I will never say we're professional ghost hunters because to me, when I hear the word professional ghost hunter or the phrase I should say, I you know, in my head, I'm like, if we were professionals, we would have all the answers to what the phenomena is.
- 31:30SPEAKER_03: We're still figuring it out.
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: So I will never call myself a professional, but they they were like, you guys are very professional.
- 31:38SPEAKER_03: So we'll we'll sell you at this X amount of dollars, which I I will release disclose that with you guys for her and the attachment that's with the urn that came with her.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: Um we only paid$150 for a thousand dollar value and and an extra item.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: So you respect it.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: And they saw that, and that that's really what it comes down to on an ethical level is they know the value, but ethically, they were like, I know this is a good home.
- 32:07SPEAKER_03: I know what you're gonna do with it, I know how it's gonna be treated.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: Please.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I guess even my you know, doll is worth you can look her up as well online.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: You won't find one, honestly.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: They're so old and rare.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: I think it was like six, five hundred dollars she's worth, but I also only paid$100 exactly.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: Um, but these people just wanted her out of the shop, they did not like the vibe.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: So that's how I got her.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: I understand that.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: But they did have her for$200.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: I was like, no, I'm not gonna pay that.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, that's how I got her.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Um, are we on to the next question?
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Or let's roll.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: Let's roll.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Does negative Nancy have something to say, Brian?
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, wait till next question.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Um no.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, so what would be the most convincing haunted doll experience that you've ever had?
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: I woke up and vacuumed my living room.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: I'm filming a TikTok of a vacuum, I swear.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: All right, so I I've said this story before.
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I'm not here to debunk dolls.
- 33:23SPEAKER_02: I do believe there are some dolls haunted out there.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: And you know, I just don't like the craze it's creating.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: And we'll get that in a second.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: But I did have an experience at my house with a doll.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: It was my grandmother-in-law, I guess you want to call her.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: My mother-in-law's grandmother had this doll.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: It was, you know, whatever, two, three feet high, like American girl doll size.
- 33:49SPEAKER_02: My daughter used to dress it up, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: Thing was creepy, always staring at you no matter what.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: So when Alexa was out and it was big, I worked night shift, so I'm playing video games, and I heard a laugh.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: Like a girl laugh.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: But that's when Alexa was doing that, you know.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: You know, people were like breaking into Alexa and making that laugh.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, whatever.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Started doing it again, playing my game.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: This thing laughed again, like a creepy laugh.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm just gonna plug the Alexa, like I'm done playing games.
- 34:21SPEAKER_02: So I went up, damn things unplugged.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: Look to the right, which was the back of my other couch, that freaking doll's looking at me.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: Alright, so I don't know if that damn doll's haunted or not.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: It is locked in my attic right now, and it's been there ever since.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: Like 12 years.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: So, yes, I do believe some dolls can have something.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: Does it have something?
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: I have no idea.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: But I have no reason to get out of the attic.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: I can stay in the attic.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: I was hoping it was the one that you got me.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: No, that thing has a plastic bag over its head in my closet.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: So well, you also weren't allowed to get home when you were traveling with it.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: Three days stuck in Chicago.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: Terrible.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you what, my Chicago, the two two and a half days on Chicago cost me more than my UK trip.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: I hate Chicago so much.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not a fan.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: I hate it.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: I haven't been yet.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: I'm waiting to go.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Were you at the O'Hare um airport?
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that's my layover spot when I go to the school.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: I just that's terrible.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Oh the worst.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: I couldn't imagine three days.
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was good, it was great.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: 40 minutes is enough for me.
- 35:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a 17-hour train ride home.
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: No, train ride is crazy.
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, it was almost supposed to be seven, but it got stalled too.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: But at least I was kind of heading in the right direction.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: I think that would be your most um crazy experience, in my opinion.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: Well, that doll wasn't with me, so that thing was already in Cleveland.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, so funny.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: She was out to get you.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: She's like, You're staying where you're at.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: Curly stuck me in Ireland.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Oh god.
- 36:09SPEAKER_03: Anywho, chew.
- 36:11SPEAKER_03: I could probably give you a lot of different experiences with each of these items individually.
- 36:18SPEAKER_03: I've had so many already.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: Um, for those of you who don't know, uh, our showroom isn't like in a nice museum-like building.
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: Our showroom right now is in my personal home.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: Um, I think Steph can share that with herself too.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: You know, they're in her personal home.
- 36:35SPEAKER_03: But I will say, and I think it's probably what most people would ask me now that I, you know, we've been up and running for almost seven months now.
- 36:43SPEAKER_03: Um and everybody who's watched our content always asks me.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: My number one experience with a doll is gonna be the big one, uh, or one of the big ones, I should say, because I think there's bigger, but um Annabelle.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: You know, we got to investigate, stay the night with Annabelle.
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: Um, I spoke with her one-on-one for a length amount of time, and everybody, number one question everybody asked me, is she haunted?
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: Is she real?
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: 1000% yes.
- 37:14SPEAKER_03: And the thing about her that's scary isn't just being in her presence or anything.
- 37:18SPEAKER_03: The thing that scared me the most about her is the intelligence.
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: I've been to investigations or talked to dolls where or items even, and and I get responses, and you know, sometimes it's fragmented, so I have to, you know, piece it together because it's one word here, silence, one word here, two words there, and piece it all together to make a sentence.
- 37:38SPEAKER_03: When I talked to Annabelle, it was immediate answers, intelligent answer, and it would be sentences to paragraphs of answers.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: They were never fragmented, they were whole responses as if I was sitting across the table.
- 37:52SPEAKER_03: And to me, that is terrifying because to have that much intelligence is mind-blowing.
- 38:00SPEAKER_03: And and to answer questions past what I'm asking is is absurd, but it it happened.
- 38:08SPEAKER_03: And so Annabelle for me is definitely one of as of right now, probably my biggest experience with any haunted doll or object at the moment.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: So you're talking like answering sentences, paragraphs, like what were you using to get this?
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: Um we would run spirit box.
- 38:28SPEAKER_03: Um, we would have somebody under we had somebody run spirit box, uh DR60 for EVP recordings.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Um, and then uh we also would uh were doing Estes method, and our Estes method, we even got to the point where I sat alone under Estes and had everybody go to the highest floor of the Warren House and ask their questions from up there.
- 38:50SPEAKER_02: Nice, I loved that.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: And it was it was instant, it was exact.
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: There were points in our video where where uh one of my team members, Sage, she turns and she's like, I heard something in the living room, and you hear me speak under Estes all the way in the basement with Annabelle, say, Oh, did you immediately?
- 39:08SPEAKER_03: And it's like the responses were too exact and too longated to be like a normal occurrence.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry, go ahead.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: No, I'm glad you said those three things.
- 39:21SPEAKER_02: If you said app, I probably would just kick you out right now.
- 39:24SPEAKER_03: I will say we do use apps.
- 39:26SPEAKER_03: Um, we only use two different apps, but we only use them to have extra stuff to use.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: Because if five billion uh pieces of equipment go off and the two apps go off and they all say the same thing, how how do you explain that?
- 39:40SPEAKER_03: You can't make it up, you know.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: But we don't we don't fully invest on apps.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: You can stay.
