- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the porch because it's raining
- 0:32again, which we're very grateful for.
- 0:34The rain has not been enough, but I wanted you guys to be able
- 0:38to hear out here. It's pitch dark and I wanted you
- 0:43to be able to hear all these frogs and just our just going
- 0:49crazy trilling because they are thrilled with all the rain.
- 0:55And it's it is truly a cacophony of what is happening out here.
- 0:58And I'm hoping that the mic is picking it up because it sounds
- 1:03incredible. So this is what this is about
- 1:06today, by the way. This is about being in a state
- 1:09of awe. And what I love about these
- 1:11moments that nature provides all the time is being able to be in
- 1:15a state of awe over something so seemingly trivial to so many
- 1:22people because they don't even notice it or it becomes
- 1:24annoying. But think about this.
- 1:26If you just pause and you listen to what's happening, all these
- 1:30frogs are calling each other right now, and they're making
- 1:33this noise to attract each other, mating sounds, all of it.
- 1:37Like just this is what they do. And it sounds so intense and so
- 1:42loud, so incredible. And you have a choice of what
- 1:47you want to believe about it. Do you want to believe it's
- 1:49annoying? Do you want to believe it's
- 1:50incredible? Do you want to believe you're
- 1:52just like, wow, this is like rain.
- 1:55Something simple as rain triggers this for me.
- 1:58I go to that state of art in nature quite a bit.
- 2:02But this specifically because there are nights where you
- 2:06barely hear things. It's dry, it's hot, you barely
- 2:10hear things. And then you have a rainstorm
- 2:12and sound explodes. Everything is like having a
- 2:16party. It's like a frog party out
- 2:19there. And they're just so beyond
- 2:20thrilled that this is happening and this wet, damp, humid, but
- 2:26really wet, lots of water. And they just rejoice almost in
- 2:31it. And I love that.
- 2:32And I think to myself, this is what we need to do more often as
- 2:36humans. We need to find that state of
- 2:38awe over, you know, the water anything and just be like frogs
- 2:43and rejoice in it and have this celebration.
- 2:46Instead. We often get annoyed even with
- 2:48the sound that the frogs are making.
- 2:50I, I've heard somebody say that the other day when we had rain
- 2:54and this happened, somebody said it's too noisy And I was like,
- 2:58too noisy. Now, I will admit, sometimes
- 3:01it's hard when it's so much to have a moment where you're like,
- 3:05wow, that is loud. But I wouldn't say I'm annoyed
- 3:08by it by any stretch of the means.
- 3:10If if it means you have to cover your head to sleep because it's
- 3:13so loud, OK, so be it. But not to be annoyed by it and
- 3:17recognize that there's so many cool things about what's
- 3:21happening in the moment instead of getting annoyed.
- 3:24So when you take your time and you start to pause and you start
- 3:28to recognize the the ability to be able to shift it, you start
- 3:34to look for other things where this shows up.
- 3:36So for me, these are interesting things just like putting out
- 3:40bird feeders and having birds all of a sudden just show up.
- 3:43Like how the hell do they know that the bird feeder is there?
- 3:46But they do, you put it, they show up.
- 3:48It's like they spend their whole day looking for food.
- 3:50So when you do something, they just show up.
- 3:53And I think that's incredible. It's cool they have this built
- 3:56in wiring to look for things. Another state of awe, finding
- 4:00these little moments that you can revel in and say, OK, I'm
- 4:04out of my head. I'm out of worrying about all
- 4:07the other crap in the world that's going on, on whatever
- 4:10side you're on. Finding those little things to
- 4:13pull you back into the moment that you are in, in nature,
- 4:17which is right in front of you and saying, OK, this moment is
- 4:21where I'm going to stay. This moment is where I'm going
- 4:24to be because that's where the power moment is.
- 4:26So when you start to think about those power moments, hearing the
- 4:30frogs, watching the birds, looking at small things that you
- 4:34find around you, looking at anything that you find around
- 4:38you, it puts you back into a state where you can calm down.
- 4:43And that's really what this whole thing is about.
- 4:45The celebrations, the calmness, the emotions that we want to
- 4:50spend most of our time in, not the ones that we seem to be
- 4:53forced into spending most of our time with.
- 4:56So this is a little bit of a weaving path this morning, not
- 5:00just about one thing. Because yes, celebrate the
- 5:03sound. Celebrate the state of awe that
- 5:06they're having the the party over the water.
- 5:09Celebrate the moment that you're in because you can hear the
- 5:12birds off in the background happy, I mean, still dark, but
- 5:16they're up making sound and they're happy doing what they're
- 5:20they're doing fate, you know, focusing on what they're looking
- 5:23for. And then you have that ability
- 5:26to be able to say, OK, I'm going to stay in these moments.
- 5:30I'm going to choose these emotions and I'm not going to
- 5:32float out and worry about things that don't have anything to the
- 5:37ability to affect me in this moment, In this moment, right
- 5:40where I am, right where I'm standing, sitting, drinking
- 5:42coffee, doing whatever I am, OK? And in this moment, I'm going to
- 5:47stay happy and I'm going to stay focused.
- 5:49So I hope you guys have a blessed day and I will see you
- 5:53tomorrow. Bye.
