Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to the Guitar Jet podcast, where you'll skyrocket your
- 0:03Speaker 1: knowledge of theory, techniques and fundamentals for guitar. Hey, it's
- 0:09Speaker 1: Miles and welcome to the podcast. And this past week
- 0:14Speaker 1: I recorded a YouTube video about minor seventh arpeggios for
- 0:18Speaker 1: guitar and I thought i'd just break that down on
- 0:20Speaker 1: the podcast for you. So, a minor seventh arpeggio is
- 0:25Speaker 1: just like a minor triad with an additional minor seventh.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So a minor triad consists of a route, a flat third,
- 0:32Speaker 1: and a fifth, and then when you add a minor seventh,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you get the minor seventh chord. And a great example
- 0:40Speaker 1: of this is a minor seven where you have the
- 0:43Speaker 1: root A, the minor third C, the fifth E, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: the minor seventh G. So that's ACEE G. And if
- 0:52Speaker 1: you look at the A minor scale, it consists of
- 0:54Speaker 1: the notes A, B, C, D, E, F and G.
- 0:58Speaker 1: And you'll notice that you can struck the minor chord
- 1:01Speaker 1: slash arpeggio from the first, third, fifth, and seventh intervals
- 1:06Speaker 1: of that scale because the third and seventh intervals in
- 1:10Speaker 1: that scale are minor and to actually play minor seventh
- 1:16Speaker 1: arpeggios on guitar, there are a lot of options. You
- 1:19Speaker 1: can use two notes per string shapes. You can use
- 1:22Speaker 1: a tapping shape, and you can use a two to
- 1:25Speaker 1: one to two shape, which I kind of stole slash
- 1:30Speaker 1: derived from Tim Miller's guitar playing, and that's where you
- 1:35Speaker 1: play two notes on a single string, one note on
- 1:38Speaker 1: the next string, two notes on the next string, and
- 1:41Speaker 1: then continue that process. And of course, as always, if
- 1:47Speaker 1: you want to further understand minor seventh arpeggios and guitar
- 1:52Speaker 1: as a whole, well check out the link in the
- 1:55Speaker 1: description to the taps the minor seventh arpeggio tabs and
- 2:00Speaker 1: put that out of the way. I hope you have
- 2:02Speaker 1: a fantastic day, and I hope you get to play
- 2:05Speaker 1: lots of guitars day rock on mm hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mm hmmmmmmm
