- 0:00Welcome to Future Forward, where we track the
- 0:02trends shaping our world. Today, we're zoning
- 0:04in on Dubai, where the shift to a green economy
- 0:07is getting this major boost in professional development.
- 0:12That's right. Diwa's Sustainability and Innovation
- 0:15Center is expanding its offerings. Okay. They're
- 0:18moving beyond just, you know, policy and into
- 0:21practical expertise. Right. They've just launched
- 0:24two new highly specialized certification program.
- 0:28So the first is Building Integrated Photovoltaics
- 0:31in Solar Architecture. And the second is the
- 0:34Hydrogen Energy Professional Program. And this
- 0:39is on top of the popular Sustainability Manager
- 0:42course, which is actually returning. It's a clear
- 0:44strategy to build a skilled workforce. Yeah.
- 0:48The MD and CEO of Diwa, His Excellency Saeed
- 0:52Mohammed Al -Tayr, really articulated the vision
- 0:56perfectly. He stated, The Sustainability and
- 0:59Innovation Center plays a vital role in enhancing
- 1:02the UAE energy sector's readiness for the future
- 1:05through its exhibitions, training programs and
- 1:07interactive competitions. In collaboration with
- 1:11strategic partners, including universities, academic
- 1:14institutions, and startups, the center showcases
- 1:17the latest innovations in clean and renewable
- 1:19energy while offering scientific and professional
- 1:22development opportunities. These efforts directly
- 1:25support DEWA's commitment to the Dubai Clean
- 1:27Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon
- 1:30Emission Strategy 2050. The center is committed
- 1:34to broadening participation in climate action
- 1:36and accelerating the energy transition. That
- 1:49quote really just frames... the importance of
- 1:54all this. It's all about future -proofing the
- 1:56energy sector. Totally. And these courses are
- 1:59so incredibly specific. I mean, the solar architecture
- 2:03program that's scheduled for February 2026 teaches
- 2:07participants how to integrate photovoltaic technology
- 2:10directly into the building's envelope. So like
- 2:14walls and roofs that are actually generating
- 2:16power? Yeah. Exactly. Wow. They even get into
- 2:19using tools like BIM Solar for analysis, fire
- 2:23safety, and cost competitiveness. Okay. It's
- 2:26incredibly thorough. And the Hydrogen Energy
- 2:29Professional course, which is running in November
- 2:312025, tackles one of the... biggest, biggest
- 2:35hurdles for hydrogen, understanding its chemical
- 2:38properties for safe handling, for storage and,
- 2:41you know, all the legal frameworks around it.
- 2:43Yes. This is just so crucial for scaling up.
- 2:47It's a very hands -on approach to achieving those
- 2:50big picture 2050 goals. By training a new generation
- 2:54of specialists in solar design, hydrogen safety
- 2:58and sustainability management. Yeah. I mean,
- 3:01DEWA is building the very... foundation for a
- 3:05net zero future. Now, here's a question we'd
- 3:07like you to think about. OK. As we focus on developing
- 3:10all of these green technologies, how important
- 3:13is it for cities and countries to simultaneously
- 3:16invest in the specialized human skills needed
- 3:20to actually deploy and manage them?
