  to cut my losses and that's that.

  So let's just get right into the stories for today.

  The first story, this is one that I pulled from yesterday.

  I have to talk about the Defying Gravity memes.

  OK, so I don't know if a movie has generated as many memes as

  Wicked has on its specific press tour.

  I still haven't seen Wicked and I'm dying to see it.

  I'm hoping I'll see it this weekend.

  But obviously I have seen all of the discourse, all of the memes
• 1:23
  and the most prevalent discourse being that people can't get over
• 1:27
  how Ari and Cynthia so Ariana Grande, Cynthia Revo have been
• 1:31
  crying in like every single interview.
• 1:34
  OK, so on that note, before I like into kind of what is
• 1:38
  happening now online with these memes, I wanted to say like,

  it's obviously very extreme, but I'm going to say my theory with
• 1:46
  this, like why they're crying so much is this is like their
• 1:51
  Barbie movie moment, right? I think when they're sitting in
• 1:54
  these press interviews and they're being asked to reflect
• 1:58
  on this experience, their journey to getting here, it
• 2:01
  probably does feel really emotional because they are
• 2:05
  sitting in this moment thinking this was my dream.

  Like I am living in this exact present moment.

  I am living out my dream. And I think they kind of feed
• 2:14
  off of each other and like, wind each other up with that, which

  is why it seems like so out of control and that they have like

  the same personality. But also, OK, this is like a

  little bit of Lauren Meisner lore that I'm not sure I've

  spoken about very much, at least on this podcast publicly.

  But I actually was a theater kid, like to the extreme.

  I actually went to university for acting for three years, did

  a three-year acting degree and then switched majors before like
• 2:45
  before graduation. So I actually graduated with a

  different degree anyways. So like I literally went to
• 2:51
  university for theater. Like that's how much of A
• 2:54
  theater kid I was. When you are doing like
• 2:57
  university level theater classes, acting classes, I can't

  even tell you the number of times that we left those classes
• 3:05
  in tears. It's so dramatic and crazy to
• 3:09
  think about now and to like reflect on and be like, what the
• 3:11
  hell were we doing? There's something that happens
• 3:13
  when you're asked to like, put art together as an ensemble that
• 3:18
  makes things like the emotions are just really heightened.

  But then also, like, the actual craft of acting is obviously all
• 3:24
  about, like, stripping yourself away and like, getting into
• 3:29
  another character, another person, understanding their
• 3:32
  triggers, what makes them tick, their emotional journey, all of
• 3:35
  that. And so I'm actually not that
• 3:37
  surprised to see them crying like this all the time because
• 3:40
  to me, I'm like, yeah, that was literally just, like, me and my
• 3:43
  university class, like, every day.

  OK. But the latest iteration of

  these wicked memes from the press tour have been going.

  I think the most viral that we've seen came from an
• 3:53
  interview that aired last week when journalist Tracy E
• 3:57
  Gilchrist was interviewing Ari and Cynthia and told Cynthia

  that, quote, people are taking the lyrics of defying gravity
• 4:03
  and really holding space with that and feeling power in that.

  So I'm going to read an excerpt directly from Forbes.

  They wrote. A Revo appears taken aback by
• 4:12
  this and puts her hand on her chest, admitting, I didn't know
• 4:16
  that was happening. Gilchrist then confirms that she
• 4:19
  has quote seen it online, and a Revo seems stunned, stating

  that's really powerful. That's what I wanted.

  A Revo then turns and looks meaningfully at Grande, who
• 4:28
  stares back. Grande then reaches over and

  holds a Revo's finger, seemingly for support.

  The two appear to be emotionally overwhelmed.

  That's actually the perfect description.

  Emotionally overwhelmed, and at this point, Gilchrist seems to

  question herself, walking back her assessment a little bit.

  I've seen it on a couple posts. I don't know how widespread,

  Gilchrist clarifies. But you know, I am in queer

  media, everyone is taking that phrase.

  I'm taking the lyrics of defying gravity and really holding space

  with that and like running with the memes.

  I'm sure you guys have seen it. It's all over X, It's all over

  TikTok. It's literally, it's even made

  it to Instagram and that never happens and never makes it to

  Instagram until like weeks later and it's already on Instagram.

  People are using it to be like, before I do XYZ, I need to sit

  in this moment and hold space for the lyrics of Defying
• 5:23
  Gravity. And it's so good.

  And I think that this particular meme blew up so much because

  it's like the cherry on top, right?

  It's like the culmination of all of these press tour memes of how
• 5:34
  like dramatic and emotional they've all been.

  This is like the pinnacle of that because the interviewer was
• 5:40
  also like feeding into presumably how she knew Ari and
• 5:44
  Cynthia would be, given they've done these interviews now for
• 5:46
  weeks. So it just feels like it all
• 5:49
  came to a head in this interview.

  And this interview is like the perfect representation of how
• 5:55
  they've acted on this press tour and like how low key in saying
• 5:58
  this press tour has been. OK, the next word that I have

  for you guys. So I have two stories from the

  secret lives of Mormon wives and like the mom talk drama.

  The 1st is that Taylor Frankie Paul presented at the Country
• 6:11
  Music Awards this weekend. And then the next day she and

  the other like mom talkers got into some sort of social media
• 6:18
  feud because she called them out for not supporting her.
• 6:21
  She wrote on Instagram stories quote, not a single one of my
• 6:24
  girls from mom talk said anything on my CMA post.
• 6:27
  Such a big night for me. Awkward.
• 6:30
  So this ended up spiraling into some of the other women shading
• 6:34
  Taylor on social media, claiming they did support her, they sent
• 6:37
  her messages in advance, they did comment whatever.

  Taylor ended up kind of backtracking a little bit on her
• 6:42
  statement and specifically ended up calling out to me instead of
• 6:45
  like the group as a whole on Instagram stories.

  She said quote I ruffled some feathers a little too much but

  First off we are not allowed to talk about any storylines so

  this is not made-up by any means.

  I thought it was awkward that every single one of my friends

  was silent. That's all I meant by that.

  I have a lot of supportive girls in this group and I never said

  anyone specifically is not supportive but a single one It

  just felt off so I made a petty post.

  Are we shocked since to me is the most triggered by it It It's

  interesting because she phone called me the other day saying I

  feel like you don't really support me on social media.

  So it's weird that it matters when it comes to her, but when

  it comes to me it shouldn't be a big deal and they don't have to

  bow down to me. Sure, you don't have to like my

  stuff, that's fine. Again, nowadays it's your

  message without saying a message.

  And we can, I think all agree for all the girls telling me I

  should have handled this differently and offline as

  they're literally eating me alive online right now.

  Maybe they just feel justified. But don't come at me if you're

  going to do the exact same thing.

  OK so this whole situation actually annoyed fans a lot.

  People thought that this was fake drama used to generate hype

  for season 2. You know, I think the mom

  talkers, they are social media stars 1st and reality stars

  second. That is for sure on the show.

  They were very, I found them to be very open and authentic with

  their lives. However, they are also masters

  at clickbait at generating social media engagement.

  Like that's their entire job. And they're really lean into

  like the drama and the storylines and the fan theories

  and things like that so much on their social media.

  And so I think people saw all of this happening and they're like,

  come on. Like we know you guys are

  filming right now. We know season 2 is going to
• 8:26
  come out soon. Like this just feels like click

  bait kind of engagement bait, rage bait.

  OK, so that happened. And then like basically the next
• 8:35
  day, McKenna Gibbons uploaded a multi part TikTok series opening
• 8:40
  up about the soft swinging scandal in the original mom talk
• 8:43
  group. She was part of that and talked
• 8:45
  about, you know, that experience from her perspective.
• 8:49
  So McKenna was married to a man named Braden.
• 8:52
  McKenna and Braden were part of the swinging couples like Taylor
• 8:55
  was in a swinging soft swinging scandal, right With two other
• 8:59
  couples. They were one of the couples and

  Taylor and Brayden so Mckennas husband were the ones that had

  the affair. So in this new TikTok series,

  McKenna detailed 2 instances of soft swinging that she had with

  the group and explained basically how she started to

  notice that something was going on between Taylor and her

  husband. And she felt like she was gas

  lit for a lot of the time when her husband would kind of you

  know like live I guess about being interested in Taylor or

  anything going on with Taylor and she just talked about it

  from her experience. I wouldn't say she dropped any

  bombshell, but I think the the thing she said that kind of

  struck people the most was that she was trying to like take

  accountability for her actions, as in like the actions of

  drinking and consensually swinging with her within her

  relationship with other couples. And a lot of people, of course,

  are like, we understand the context.

  We understand I think she's Mormon.

  But either way, she's in Utah. And she talked about how her

  family wouldn't support that. Like her parents didn't even

  know she was drinking and stuff. So it's like, yes, within the

  context of Utah and her culture, understand how it could feel

  like maybe she made mistakes. But at the end of the day, she

  really didn't make mistakes. You know, she was drinking with

  her friends and they were all consensually hooking up with

  each other. But of course, what ended up,

  you know, making it not consensual was that Taylor and

  Braden ended up having this kind of offside affair.

  And there is one night, which I think is the night that McKenna

  details in this series, but it's unclear.

  She really didn't go into a lot of details in this.

  But there is one night where a lot of fans, I think that it

  sounds like Braden like sexually assaulted Taylor.

  And I don't think Taylor or don't know if Taylor has ever

  said that herself, like said that she felt that way about

  that night. But I know that a lot of fans

  She was quite the instigator. Tate was the one who wanted to

  stop. Tate was her husband, Taylor's

  husband, now her ex-husband. So I'm assuming what she means

  is like the swinging because yeah, McKenna was talking about

  how like she wasn't comfortable with it.

  It only happened twice. So I guess Taylor here is trying

  to say that McKenna was like really interested or like into

  the swinging. And it was actually Taylor's

  touch on the accusations against Brooke Schofield's new boyfriend

  because he is being accused of having dated a minor in his

  while, but it's making its way on two other platforms, mostly

  TikTok and Brooke has started responding.

  So I thought, OK, this is an appropriate time to address it.

  So Brooke recently went public with a new man named Miles

  Canton. He's the son of movie producer

  Neil Canton, who is best known for Back to the Future.

  So he is a nepo baby. Upon the hard launch of their

  relationship, I guess Internet Slew started doing some digging

  into miles past. I'm really not sure how this all

  came to light. I think that's how it happened.

  But regardless, Internet Slew's found this concerning piece of

  So yeah, there's a lot like, that's just kind of like the tip

  indicators that they were probably possibly in a

  relationship together. So fans have been leaving

  to address this and telling her, like, some people think, you
