- 1:44Forgetful Murderer. That's free Wine bring you Facebook, Gregory Hood. Tonight's the
- 2:00Petrie to bring you good wines. Invite you to listen to the story of
- 2:05a getful murderer, another exciting story from the case books of Gregory Hood.
- 2:10And if you don't mind, I'd like to repeat something I've said before.
- 2:14It's simply this. The best beginning a good meal ever had is a glass
- 2:19of Petrie California sherry. Try Survey for dinner and you'll know what I mean
- 2:24That Petrie sherry is a marvelous wine. Just look at its deep amber color,
- 2:30so rich and inviting. And as for the wine itself, what a
- 2:34flavor. Petrie sherry has a flavor you know comes right from the heart of
- 2:38Russia's sun rifling California grape. And say, if you like your sherry dry
- 2:44like I do, you know not sweet Petrie makes a delicious dry sherry Petree
- 2:49pale dry. If you don't know which you prefer, the regular or the
- 2:53pale dry, don't buy one, buy two, try them both, but
- 2:57remember always buy Petrie. Well, it's Monday night in San Francisco and it's
- 3:20time to keep our weekly date with Gregory Hood and his friend Sanderson Taylor.
- 3:24Tonight's rendezvous is at one of this city's favorite and most colorful meeting places the
- 3:29top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Let's join the man, shall Harry Bartell
- 3:37ating mister Taylor? Hello, Greg? Oh, Harry coming to them.
- 3:39You're just in time to settle a fears argument, argument uh, company policy
- 3:45or a private opinion. The last break and I have an arguing is to
- 3:49what is the plural of mongoose? I say it's mongooses, And his vote
- 3:53has gone for monge. Now what cure, bet, Harry? I think
- 3:55I go for mongooses too, Greg, You're out vote Sanday Funk and Wagner's
- 4:00who hear of it? Now? You must be an obstinate old mongoo.
- 4:03So how did you get onto the project? Anyway? Oh, it came
- 4:06up quite logically. A little earlier on, Sandy and I were shooting crabs
- 4:10at the apartments. He threw three double aces in a row. The double
- 4:13as is better known as snake eyes. From there we began to discuss snakes
- 4:16than the ways of killing them, and that was when Sandy made his fatal
- 4:19remark about mongy. You call that logical, you'll find Harry and Griggs logic.
- 4:24It's almost a little involved. Well, I'll forgive that if you'll keep
- 4:27up his record of good storytelling. How's about tonight, Jan, Greg?
- 4:30Well, Harry, I think I should preface the story by telling you that
- 4:33last year I decided to open a small but select retail Stow and I may
- 4:38tell you, Hars that it took all of Braggs Wiles in personal contacts the
- 4:41wangle a riffle. Yes, we finally secured a location on Boost Street near
- 4:45the Sant Francis Hotel. On the night my story begins, Sandy and I
- 4:48were at a new place talking over the final plans with our manager. He
- 4:51sat there quite late, I remember, and it must with an asses ten.
- 4:55As we left the store and walked down Post Taught, where my car
- 4:58was parked. As we reached it, we noticed quite a crowd gathered outside
- 5:01the jewelry store. Naturally, we walked up to see what it's caused.
- 5:08Hello, what's the exciting? Just for Gray and looks as if someone's giving
- 5:12away nylons on the sidewalk. Let's go and smooth. Must be trouble,
- 5:16Greg, The police is here. It's I'm prominent among them, Sergeant Bartman.
- 5:20Hello, sergeant, Oh mean it's a hood I might I hope back
- 5:25there, Please out of the way. You've got to keep this clear.
- 5:29Huh. It doesn't take you long smell out our murder, mister, hood
- 5:31and a murder. It's purely a coincidence that we happened to be passing gargant
- 5:35what happened? Star broken into jewelry, stolen night watchmen, stabbed to death,
- 5:41nabbed the killer. Nah, he was too fast for us, made
- 5:44a clean get away. Mist the hood. Can I come in and take
- 5:46a gander? Oh, grey par that's your curiosity alone for one. I'm
- 5:51afraid I have got strict instructions at the hood. If you call headquarters,
- 5:56I'm sure they'll authorize the pass off. No, no, Sergeant, I
- 5:58will bother by the way. How wife all over the operations doing fine?
- 6:00Thank you so long time? Don't night and it's hurt wonder if whatever sees
- 6:09greg you're actually walking away from the scene of the murder. Purely commercial robbery.
- 6:13Murders like that aren't in my line standing. In any case, I'm
- 6:15not in the mood for violence tonight. Let's go over to the lick grill
- 6:19and rattle a few dye. No, not me, I'm gonna hire me
- 6:23home to marry and the children. You're a very worthy citizen. Standa,
- 6:28here's my car and I dropped you at the bridge terminal. No thanks,
- 6:30it's near are Wa and Andrew. Do you in the morning? Standay,
- 6:32I give my love to Marry. I will hello, Hello, this is
- 6:45get into the wrong car. I don't think so. You're a Gregory whod
- 6:48aren't you? Yes, that's what I said on the licensed card on the
- 6:53steering clothes. Who are you? Coffee? That's my nixt name. Didn't
- 7:00tell me where we're going, Gregory, So listen if you're sure you said
- 7:03toppy idea and then listen Tope. I'm the kind of a guy who's more
- 7:08than willing to spring along with a gag. But before I say where we're
- 7:11going, I'd like you to do one thing for me. What's please switch
- 7:15on the overhead life inside the car. You want to make certain I'm not
- 7:19too repulsive, rust Claire. What's the verdict? Gregory? Move over top.
- 7:29We're going just wherever you say, Guagan Branton, Yes, Lieutenant.
- 7:45Anything from the elaborate ports on the jewelry store killings, not a thing.
- 7:46Lieutenant never saw a Cleena John. It's like we've got nothing at all to
- 7:51go on. Nothing that finish. We've fund of the scene of the murder.
- 7:56What is the Lieutenant, You know, I guess it's as good as
- 7:58mine. It's think just to hunt a metal to me, he anly swears
- 8:01it doesn't belong in the shop, so we must assume the killer dropped him.
- 8:05Can I look at us? Yeah, yeah, hmm. Piece of
- 8:11metal about six inches long, thick as than a wire, not not shop
- 8:18at one end, the ring at the other. Could it be a meat
- 8:22steward? Lieutenant No, ask me, sage. Three days since the killing,
- 8:26narrow and after exhausted tessol, I've been able to find out is that
- 8:30the murder a dropt and wants it. Maybe I should ask Greg Food to
- 8:33come in on this one. He was on the scene a few minutes after
- 8:37the mother was discovered. Lieutenant h I take it when he said these headquarters
- 8:41homicides. I did a lot and speaking yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:50you know what, Lieutenant No, I don't. If I've been on
- 8:52my toes, I guess I should have deduced from your conversation, but I
- 8:56didn't quite make it. What's happened There's been another robbery killing sounds like the
- 9:00same guy down a market. Well, let's get moving and keep your fingers
- 9:03from a side that he's left another cloe for us those times, I clodd,
- 9:07we'll be able to pick up well, Sandy, the display stuffer is
- 9:20ready. The captains of the finish the interior decorator had finally okayed the hang
- 9:22of the last drape. I think our store can open tomorrow on schedule.
- 9:26I'm very proud of it. If Critain Company has to go into the retail
- 9:30market, you couldn't have a better showcase. Yes, as my rooms over
- 9:33on yours, Tomain, I feel quite happy by the way, Sandy.
- 9:35Look at that watercolor of James super Wright hanging over there. That's a very
- 9:39great painter. Have you ever seen such a struckle and yet more exciting blended
- 9:43color? Oh? I'm crazy about it. I've been ever since the first
- 9:46start. You know I'm playing to buy Mary a Jimmy Wright original for a
- 9:50birth. You're a man of taste, Sandy, if only you were worthy
- 9:54of Mary. Well, since we're talking about what is technically known as the
- 9:58gentler sex, and I ask you if you've seen any more of that girl
- 10:01you told me you met the other night. What was your name, Tappy?
- 10:05No, no, Sandy, her name was Coffee. Uh, well,
- 10:07okay, I don't want to be a little snooper, but I am
- 10:09curious. Have you seen a no Sandy. It's one of the dardest things
- 10:13that's happened to me. Yet he just showed up out of nowhere. We
- 10:16had one of the most delightful evenings I've ever spent, and then she vanished.
- 10:20Interisted I'd drop her at the cab stand if you please, but didn't
- 10:22to trail the cab. Everybody got away from me. You realize, Sandy,
- 10:26that I don't even know a name. You're flipping right here, so
- 10:28you're nothing. Envy door it doesn't open to the man. I'm sure you
- 10:33knew Carbucci. Oh you mean a night watching Yes, yes, I thought
- 10:37it would be a break for him. We're moving a little nearer to the
- 10:39center of Oh. Hello, you know good even And are you, mister
- 10:46t Gino, coming to look over your new empire? Just to write the
- 10:50city, I have fine place, you have the a fine You think you
- 10:54liked being night watchman here? Do you know? I thought it would be
- 10:56a nice change for you after the warehouse and you know this isn't very hasty
- 10:58that the move. All my life by I have wanted to be in the
- 11:03fashionable part of the city. And now it's just the way that till I
- 11:07tell my mother, shoot me will examogate, Yes, make us a at
- 11:13home. You know someone else of the door. You really have built a
- 11:16better mouth trapad Lieutenant. Children probably want to preview over the door. All
- 11:24right, Hello fans, good to see you. Well, what do you
- 11:28think about a new place? It's very nice? Even you look worried,
- 11:33fam what's on your mind? This series of robbery killings, right, it's
- 11:35getting me down. I'm kidding you have them? No, only you haven't
- 11:39got a decent lead. You're sure it's the same color. Certain pattern in
- 11:43each case is exactly the same. And that pattern is door is broken into,
- 11:46stuff is stolen. Night watchman gets plugged while he's unconscious of dirty right
- 11:52stamps in the desk. As the medical examiners report, strange, your average
- 11:56feet doesn't feel unless you has to. It sounds like a twisted kind of
- 12:00mind. It work. Then here's another thing. At the scene of each
- 12:03of the killings, the murderers dropped something. Okay, got to the collection
- 12:07so you can make anything else. No, I hadn't want to plain women
- 12:09handkerchief initial with a C. No longermind, Well, that's a great help.
- 12:13Nearly narrows it out to all the people in San Francisco whose first,
- 12:18last, or middle name begins to Suceeed. I know. Well, at
- 12:20least I put Greg and me in the clear. What's the item number two?
- 12:24Oh, it's a hard jpiece of robin looks like an ear piece for
- 12:28sometime that is researching houses. It's an ear piece off a seventh school.
- 12:31Ah, the mad doctor. Well that could give you a lead. Well
- 12:35it happened, Greg, give you any idea how many doctors there are in
- 12:39San Francisco whose initials have a see in them somewhere? Well, I can
- 12:43imagine. And these third exhibits. This funny looking piece of metal the part
- 12:48of the the scene in the first killing. It's not unlike a meat skewer.
- 12:54No, No, it's not that family rings a kind of a bell,
- 12:58but I can't quite hear it. Well, then I hang on with
- 13:01Greganjun you do hear it, Williams to Night certainly appreciate it. If you
- 13:05could help me out on this one. I'm going crazy. Okay, San,
- 13:07I'll take it and brood on the matter. You can have it back
- 13:11for exhibite, but I'll see if I get any bright ideas in the meantime.
- 13:13But don't pin too much faith on me. This really isn't my type
- 13:16of case. Hellogory, Coffee, you ought to lost your car, you
- 13:41know, I always used to until that night I forgot. Now I leave
- 13:45it open, hoping i'll find you here again. Move over, dying.
- 13:52I think a bite of suffered the palace is indicated. The lights are so
- 13:56discreet, they're admirably shooting to your mystery, your beauty. Man, If
- 14:01you're in great form tonight, Gregory. And after that, after that,
- 14:05Darling, we might take a drive up to Twin Peak. The view from
- 14:09there is quite lovely. I doubt if you've ever seen it, Gregory,
- 14:13But come on, let's go. Oh you were actually truthful, Gregory.
- 14:33The view is beauce. You're right, Coffee, it's quite beautiful. You
- 14:39aren't even lucky. Oh yes, I am. My whole father used to
- 14:43say that even the taiz Mahal in the moonlight doesn't compare with the sparkle in
- 14:46a beautiful girl's eyes. I wish i'd mister old father, so does he?
- 14:52In the meanwhile, how's about his son, darling? What strong coffee?
- 15:01If you got me a process raisably that he trips me. Oh,
- 15:05it must be this gimmick the fine things for carrying concealed weapons. This isn't
- 15:13a weapon, in my sweet It's the vital clue to a murder case.
- 15:16The only trouble is no one knows what it is. I bet I know
- 15:18what it is. What it's the same for cleaning pipe? No, no,
- 15:22no, doublan. The gardget you're thinking of has a much shorter spike,
- 15:26and it's got a little spoons, but swooping up the back on all
- 15:30thoughts of other dudads on it. My body used to use one just like
- 15:33this, he had express to need. It's just for cleaning up the the
- 15:37oh you know the middle part of the pipe. You mean the shank.
- 15:41So you may be right, afare you're a bright girl, copy. You
- 15:45may have helped to solve a murders. There's going to be another murder very
- 15:48soon. Graduate. If you're not careful me, what have I done?
- 15:54You'll talk too much? Hi fan oh Gregy and brings you over the police
- 16:11head corners, you get any brain waves and let the steel gimmick again.
- 16:15Yes, Then I went out with a beautiful girl last night. She gave
- 16:17me an idea, nothing very surprising. BNN got big court. Then I'm
- 16:22talking about the metal of this found that the first murder. But this gal
- 16:26suggested it might be a rather special kind of pipe to you. I checked
- 16:29on it this morning and learned two interesting texts. The gimmick was made of
- 16:32surgical steel and there were traces of chepine on it, So we narrow it
- 16:36down still further. San, you're looking for a doctor who has a C
- 16:38in his initials and he's also a pipe smoker. PC. You can take
- 16:45your choice right, not another murder fan y last night you have the silver
- 16:49lighter at the scene of the crime. Left, say you look powder?
- 16:52Someone else have a drink to get it for a while. How can I
- 16:56forget it? Look, Greg, you're an amateur that sometimes you get a
- 16:57bright idea in Calmer as well, and the safety and lives of the city
- 17:02don't depend on it. But it's different with me. When are dying great
- 17:04four men in the last two weeks and the Lord alone knows where the killer
- 17:08is going to strike next or when? And what can I do? Nothing
- 17:11except I went still speaking? Yeah but what? Yeah, okay, Bossy,
- 17:22I'll be right over. Not another thing. Yes, last night,
- 17:26maybe early this morning. Hold on, Gregon, it was your new sword.
- 17:30What they murdered your night watchman. You'll hear the rest of gregoryhood story
- 17:42and justice. Second, just time for me to tell you the simplest,
- 17:45easiest way I know to make a good meal taste better. Serve that meal
- 17:49with a glass of good Petrie wine. You're having hamburgers or as swell pot
- 17:55roast for dinner, and you just got to try it with Petrie California burgundy.
- 17:59That Petrie Burgundy is a hearty red wine. It's just made to go
- 18:03with any meat or meat dish. Personally, I think it's great. Now,
- 18:06if you're having chicken for dinner, or maybe fish or seafood, then
- 18:10by all means, trya Petrie California So turned. Petrie So Turned is a
- 18:14subtle, intriguing white wine. That's really something. Believe me, when you
- 18:18want a good wine, your cat miss with a Petrie wine. Well,
- 18:22Greg this was really got me on the edge of my chair. So the
- 18:26murderer sut for a fifth time when he killed you a night one, Yes,
- 18:29Kerry Oro Gino Seduci. It was one of my favorite people, and
- 18:33I was fighting mad when I heard the news. I called Sandy and told
- 18:36him to join at the store, and then Lieutenant Silvers and I raced over
- 18:37to the team. As the three of us stood there. I fore a
- 18:41silent vows of fish was eve less. Yes, but I do Sandy.
- 18:47While I was out having a romantic adventure with a mysterious girl last night,
- 18:49or Old Gino was killed protecting my property, and I didn't see that you
- 18:52could have done anything to save him. Greg the murderer didn't write a postcard
- 18:56and say he was going to be here last night. I know, I
- 18:57know ro manifest Place Parallesse. Yeah. Now I've got him on a routine
- 19:02gun that may lead us somewhere. What's that was taking on a list of
- 19:04every minute go in San Francisco? Who may have the initial CP or PC?
- 19:08Did they forgetful murderer leaders any clue this time? Yeah? These few
- 19:12pages from an album. Dage and Barton said they were lying beside the body,
- 19:17but they're not much help. No fingerprints on him. Let me see
- 19:21you, hen see which you make them? I mean, while I'm going
- 19:23back to headquarters. I'll be in touch with you later. Okay, then
- 19:26okay, well what do you make of the pages? And well they seemed
- 19:32to be torn from one of those novels about the calant young doctors and yeah
- 19:37he was who kind of disposed or doctors of the Moon. We see those
- 19:40stages. Wait a minute, you were wrong? Standis these pages weren't sawn
- 19:45from a novel. They're loose sheets. They've never been bound. What does
- 19:48that say? I think it tells us where to look for doctor PC or
- 19:51TP. Well who you calling? Chose aph Henry Jackson, book editor on
- 19:53the Chronicle. I think he can help us, Nica, Joe Jackson,
- 19:57I hope you're on the right trail, and so do I. Joe.
- 20:02This is Greg Hood. Oh Greg, listen, Joe. I'm in a
- 20:03jam. I need some help. Oh no, great, I'm a respectable
- 20:07marriage man. No no, no, no, not that kind of a
- 20:10jam. I need your professional help. That's a different. What's the problem?
- 20:12Am I right in thinking that? Sometimes book reviewers like yourself, I've
- 20:15sent unbound pages on a book. Yes, great, they do that occasionally
- 20:21one of the regular copies won't be out far and up ahead. Personally,
- 20:23I wish publishers would do it more often. I see another question, Joe,
- 20:27do you have a reviewer who covers medical books? Someone who's missals might
- 20:30be CP or PP. Oh, we have so many part time reviewers.
- 20:34Let me see. Yes, there's a doctor Christopher's party. Have you ever
- 20:41met in Joe? No, never been in here. We send the stuff
- 20:44off to him and he mails a copy back. Doesn't minute, I'll check
- 20:47the address. What is all this anyway? Well, Joe, you're well
- 20:51known as an authority on factual murder, aren't you? True murders? A
- 20:53copyist line? Why well, Joe, don't look now, but I think
- 20:57you're just about to fall the murder. Well, Sandy, this is the
- 21:14house of doctor Christopher Popping very nice too, you know it's pleasant out here
- 21:18in the marina. Yeah, that's gonna ring about her, not since the
- 21:22door is un left. The prize is always an advantage when you're dealing with
- 21:26the murderers. You really think he's your man. The evidence would points that
- 21:30way. Mom, Sanding, keep your eyesop and this guy probably knows all
- 21:33the answers. I don't like open doors. This might be trap you s
- 21:45see. You should have called the tennis groups. No, no, sanday
- 21:48since port Gino got killed, this is a private battle. Mhm. Here's
- 21:56the living room so recently occupied by a pipe smoking you another. I don't
- 22:00see the pipeline. Look at that ashtray. Lots of ashes and burn matches,
- 22:04but no cigarettes. Who is this? Oh hello, Gregory Coffee.
- 22:15What on earth are you doing here? I'm gonna tell you that, and
- 22:17you tell me how you attract me here? Well, I have my methods.
- 22:22By the way, talky, let me introduce my friend s Anderson tables.
- 22:26How do you do well? How do you do with miss? I
- 22:30think your frienders tracked me here. You really should be able to tell you
- 22:33my name, so I be thinking about it. I'll go want to get
- 22:37you both a drink. You can tell you could use one, which trend
- 22:40is granted. I'll get the number on that phone, slip off of the
- 22:41house and go to the nearest public phone and call here, ask for doctor
- 22:45Christopher Potting and say, oh why did it? That'll smoke the mouse without
- 22:48your having to mention you. That's a good idea, great and then not
- 22:51come, I asked the jury. Well that's it. Oh where did your
- 22:57finger out? A cigarette? We wanted them? Might haven't notice any here?
- 23:02Miss us? Do you like Sincirius Gregory's I'd love a glass copy?
- 23:10Neares? Do you live here? Said doctor Partington? Yes, here's you
- 23:17assurance. Thank you, Darty. Have you been meeting about these night watsmen
- 23:22murders in San Francisco? Yes, Gregory, I've been developing the newspaper reports
- 23:29twice their most unusual murders. Miritilla always leaves the clues. Now, these
- 23:33flues might be deliberately false one, but I think not. I think it's
- 23:37a phenomenon. A psychiatrist might enjoy a murderer subconsciously compelled to betray himself,
- 23:44You know, Taffy. They say that absent mindedness is never accidental. It's
- 23:48always the result of subconscious desires, do they? Gregory Darling? You dreadfully
- 23:53serious? I see you dreadfully serious. You see an old friend of mine
- 23:57was murders last night. Excuse me? Hello, yes, species, who's
- 24:06this as funny? He hung up? Oh well he asks for doctor Christopher
- 24:15Parkington. Didn't he did? He? And you are doctor Schistopher Partington art
- 24:21stopis not a common name for a girl, but I've heard of a few
- 24:23others. I've heard of Christopher Partington Candy. So that your nickname of Copy
- 24:27was another clue, wasn't it, Gregory Darling. I'm afraid I'm losing my
- 24:33losing toil, but go on fascinating. I've known of women who privately smoked
- 24:38pipes too. That was another clue you gave me, and women doctor a
- 24:42commonplace these days. The subconscious is beautifully tricky? Is this topic? Even
- 24:48while seeking to betray you, let the series of flues pointed to pipe smoking
- 24:52Doctor Partington's all misleading factors not to be associated with a beautiful girl nicknamed Copy.
- 25:00You're very silent, doctor Pattington's. I told her not to pretty.
- 25:07I kept telling her not to kill those people. She wouldn't listen to me.
- 25:14She was a surging, you know, and he loved to use them
- 25:17nice But it was too easy for her to fall a night watch. She
- 25:22went right away to him, so I had to try to betray her.
- 25:29That's why I waited in Norse card that's too nice. I thought I might
- 25:33be able to help peach heir who partor Peters. She is bad, very
- 25:44bad. She kills people. Kathy Peters, Hee, Peter's only smoke.
- 25:51Don't tell me I think of this. That all wrong? After all?
- 25:52Where is she? This is this Cathy Peters. Yes, you need inside
- 26:00of me. We use the same bodies I did. True, I did
- 26:10so want to catch her green. It's all right, Toffee, dear,
- 26:15I've thought her to lock her up. Grace. Please, Rock, promise
- 26:22you won't let her do those anymore? You will, you quick? You
- 26:29don't worry, Coffee. We won't let Cathy Peters kill people, not anymore
- 26:36ever, Gregg, I swear this is the strangest case you've ever done.
- 26:59And the cat Five innocent men, including my old Friendino, murdered in cold
- 27:03blood, and yet you can't hold that girl morally responsible. She never went
- 27:07to present scorse. No, Harry, he was obviously an insane schizophrenic,
- 27:11a nineteen hundred and forty six deaculine high you wound up in the state institution.
- 27:17It was just a psychological misfake. God it, Harry. It was
- 27:22a miserable case, you know, grag their time to night. Sure hate
- 27:26to be in your issues. Yes, Harry, what leaves the taste.
- 27:30But as my old father would say, when you cry over a woman,
- 27:33there's always another woman ready to wipe away the tears. Now, you can't
- 27:37dismiss it that easily. Greg. When you fall, I know that you
- 27:38fall. But good, Yes, Harry, you and I were the kind
- 27:41of fellows who decided to like something. And well that's that. That's right.
- 27:45I'll never forget the night I no, but you don't want to hear
- 27:48about it, but I do the night you past. The first night I
- 27:52be sure, of course, the first night I tasted Petrie wine, I
- 27:57said that's the wine for me, and assure it I should have known.
- 28:00Yes, Petrie wine is a wine for everybody because it's good wine. It's
- 28:04got to be look at the long years of skill and experience and go into
- 28:08its making. The Petrie family has been making wine for generations. Wine making
- 28:14is their heritage, a heritage handed on down from father to son, from
- 28:18father to son. So you can see why the Petrie business has grown and
- 28:23grown though that today the Petrie family are America's largest independent wine maker. Yes,
- 28:30the making of Petrie wine is a family affair, and the Petrie family
- 28:33has every intention of keeping it just that. So you know, the name
- 28:37Petrie on a bottle of wine is more than a trademark. It's the personal
- 28:41assurance of the Petrie family that Petree wine is and always will be good wine.
- 28:48Well, Greg, me what story from your case book? If you
- 28:51lined up for us next week? Next week, Harry, I'm going to
- 28:52tell you of an odd adventure that Sandy and I had as we were flying
- 28:56to New York a few months ago. It concerns the Southern Colonel and an
- 29:00usually attractive girls and an elusive piece of ice. I told the story the
- 29:04Double Diamond. You next Monday, Harry. The Case Book of Gregory Hood
- 29:27is written by Dennis Green and Anthony Boucher. Original music composed and played by
- 29:33Dean Foxler. Gale Gordon plays the part of Gregory Hood, and Sanderson Taylor
- 29:37is played by Howard mcneer. The Petrie Wine Company of San Francisco, California
- 29:51invites you to tune in again next week, same time, same station.
- 29:55The Case Book of Gregory Hood comes to you from our Hollywood studio. This
- 30:03is Harry Bartel saying good night for the Petrie family. Welcome back. Well,
- 30:08I really a bit of a bittersweet ending there. I have to admit,
- 30:14usually Harry Bartell as great as the ad pitch guy for Petrie, but
- 30:22in this case I don't think that there was a how shall we say,
- 30:26delicate or even appropriate way to segue his comments as he did. But be
- 30:34that as it may, it was a pretty solid episode, though I expect
- 30:38though I suspected a toffee from the moment that she showed up just because of
- 30:45where and how she showed up in the story. But of course what throws
- 30:48you off is for giving a clue and so a good case. And we
- 30:56have one more Gil Gordon program to go, so be sure and listen to
- 30:59that next week. All right, listener comments and feedback, and we'll read
- 31:03a few. First of all, we have this from Doug keep up the
- 31:10great work, Adam. Your podcast helps make my daily commute bearable. Johnny
- 31:14Dollar is one of my favorites, and he says, I've been listening for
- 31:19about two years now and have really enjoyed your podcast and the shows you've covered.
- 31:25Keep up the good work, and John says, thank you, I
- 31:29really enjoy the content. Well, thanks so much. I truly appreciate that.
- 31:33And then we have a comment from Christine, who says I am slowly
- 31:37catching up in the podcast I am on November twenty ten, I was wondering
- 31:41if you could put any announcements on your blog or here for those of us
- 31:45who are behind, we can still keep up with what is going on with
- 31:49the podcast. I'm hoping by the end of the year I will be caught
- 31:53up. Well. Thanks so much, And that's a good reminder, and
- 31:56I will make every effort to go a head and to do that because I
- 32:04do know a lot of folks listen to it from behind, and I hadn't
- 32:07even done very much like regarding listener support campaign but I'll try and get stuff
- 32:13over at Facebook regarding listener support campaigns and books and things of that sort.
- 32:21I would probably also suggest that if you're starting from the show, starting on
- 32:24the show from the beginning, you could listen to the Tuesday episode as well
- 32:32to get a feeling for what's going on currently, just because the Tuesday shows
- 32:37tend to be short and we tend to rotate them quite frequently. But regardless,
- 32:43I appreciate the reminder to be using the Facebook page for communicating that.
- 32:49And we have twenty eight hundred thirty four fans there, so I truly appreciate
- 32:54everyone who's part of that part of our community. All right, well,
- 33:00we will be back tomorrow continuing on with yours truly, Johnny Dollar, and
- 33:06then next week the last Gil Gordon episode of the Casebook of Gregory Hood.
- 33:12And be sure and join us on Saturday for Police Blotter. In the meantime,
