Lieutenant Fired After Hit-and-Run Lie | Charleston News
A police lieutenant in Goose Creek, Devante Rumph, lost his job after allegedly lying about a hit-and-run crash he caused while driving the wrong way at 60 mph. Fired just days after the incident — not for the crash itself, but for “conduct unbecoming” and clocking in from home — evidence including license plate data, cell records, and surveillance footage showing him in the same clothes as the crash witness exposed his deception.
