Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, hello there everybody. Are you having some burping issues
- 0:03Speaker 1: over there?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Taco Bob, I didn't know you were running the podcast yet. Yeah,
- 0:08Speaker 2: I just there. It is you know when you swallow
- 0:10Speaker 2: water down kind of like and they found the wrong pipe. No,
- 0:13Speaker 2: not even that, because I'd be caugh for my balls off.
- 0:15Speaker 2: But no, that just water and air goes down on
- 0:19Speaker 2: this so there was a little locked in there.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Well, anyway, everybody, welcome to the Lynching Taco Off the
- 0:25Speaker 1: Air Podcast. New episode on this day before Halloween.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It's crazy. First thing I said to you when I
- 0:33Speaker 2: got in here this morning, I was like, I can't
- 0:35Speaker 2: believe the Mars Halloween.
- 0:36Speaker 1: It's great. Oh Friday on a Friday.
- 0:39Speaker 2: The weather's gonna be great for the kids. That's one
- 0:41Speaker 2: of my favorite things this year. Speaking of which, Friday
- 0:45Speaker 2: and chillier. Yeah, Pat's got on long sleeves.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I love wearing long sleeve T shirts. I have dozens
- 0:54Speaker 1: of them. But of course, living in Central Florida, it's
- 0:58Speaker 1: a limited snow shot out of the year that you're
- 1:02Speaker 1: able to sport long sleeves without sweating your balls off.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So you can really just say I have dozens that
- 1:09Speaker 2: of long sleeves. That I don't know. I'm sorry, I
- 1:13Speaker 2: was going somewhere anyway. Yeah, I saw you at the
- 1:15Speaker 2: long sleeve of this morning. That might have been a
- 1:17Speaker 2: little extreme for the weather. But it's just because you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Like them, That's exactly what I'm saying. Yes, yes, I
- 1:22Speaker 1: would not. I like them to the point that I
- 1:25Speaker 1: like them, but I wouldn't be wearing them in August.
- 1:27Speaker 1: In hell, July and August anyway. Yeah, So the whole
- 1:31Speaker 1: Halloween deal is, you know, with it being on a Friday,
- 1:33Speaker 1: that that adds a whole new level. No matter what
- 1:36Speaker 1: your plans are, whether you're just you're going to stay
- 1:39Speaker 1: home and have a party, you're gonna stay home and
- 1:42Speaker 1: hand out candy, you're going to take the little one's
- 1:44Speaker 1: trick or treating.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Go to a friend's party, whatever it might be.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Just the fact that you know you don't have to
- 1:49Speaker 1: for in most cases, get up early the next morning.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Cave Chacher, man.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Oh, it's the best. And that means unless we have
- 1:57Speaker 2: leap ears, that means next year's on a Saturday.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Next Year's is on a Saturday.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Beautiful.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yes, So with that, Happy Halloween everyone, and I hope
- 2:07Speaker 1: you have a good time with whatever your your plans
- 2:09Speaker 1: may bring you then, so you get done, that done,
- 2:13Speaker 1: and then turn around and boom, it's fall back back
- 2:17Speaker 1: to standard time on Sunday morning at two am.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Because the law never passed, but there was some update
- 2:24Speaker 2: this week or some chatter about.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It I heard, So I feel like this is like
- 2:28Speaker 1: Groundhog Day here. It is this whole set them back,
- 2:33Speaker 1: put them forward, set them back, putting forward two times
- 2:35Speaker 1: a year for the last I guess three years going
- 2:40Speaker 1: on four years. At this point there was a concerted
- 2:43Speaker 1: effort to set the clocks and leave them year rounds.
- 2:48Speaker 1: The initial movement and proposal was to set them on
- 2:51Speaker 1: permanent daylight saving time, and that is what was again
- 2:58Speaker 1: brought forward this week in the Senate. However, it was
- 3:02Speaker 1: not able to be brought to a vote because one
- 3:05Speaker 1: of the senators was able to pull the maneuver to
- 3:08Speaker 1: block the vote from happening because he does not want
- 3:12Speaker 1: the time to be set on daylight saving time out
- 3:16Speaker 1: of safety concerns and concerns from his constituents in his
- 3:21Speaker 1: home state about kids in the darkness at school stops.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I understand with the kids, because I it sucks when
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's really dark early in the morning, you got these
- 3:30Speaker 2: kids strolled into hell, we had somebody I believe it
- 3:33Speaker 2: was earlier this week or last week there was hit
- 3:35Speaker 2: by somebody and killed.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Okala, yeah, high school was earlier this week.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Man, that just it pulls your heart out.
- 3:41Speaker 1: High school senior. But yeah, as of well, Sunday morning
- 3:45Speaker 1: and then of course Monday morning when the kids are
- 3:47Speaker 1: back in school, it will be light earlier. So what
- 3:50Speaker 1: are we going into that We're going into standard time?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Okay, at that time they want to switch it. No, no,
- 3:55Speaker 2: because every year you tell me, and every year I
- 3:57Speaker 2: get confused. Let me just say, I'll just all I
- 3:59Speaker 2: can because it's a big deal to you. All I
- 4:02Speaker 2: care is when it's light earlier, then you would prefer
- 4:06Speaker 2: standard time, which is you're gonna get your wish here
- 4:11Speaker 2: starting something. Well, if everybody else wants the other one,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I'll take it the other one, because really it's not
- 4:15Speaker 2: that big of a deal.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Here's really what's going on. So the thought was, yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 1: most people would want, you know, to have more daylight
- 4:23Speaker 1: in the evening, which is what daylight saving time year
- 4:26Speaker 1: round would provide.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Because it's nice. You work so long and then and
- 4:31Speaker 2: you you know, wife or husband gets home, you have dinner,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and it's nice to go for an after dinner walk
- 4:36Speaker 2: with them.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And it looked like it was going that way, and
- 4:39Speaker 1: then the medical community chimed in and said, guys, hold
- 4:42Speaker 1: on a second here, hold on as far as health
- 4:46Speaker 1: issues go, that causes health issues every year when you
- 4:50Speaker 1: spring forward onto daylight saving time, notable rise in heart
- 4:54Speaker 1: attacks and other types of stuff. If you're gonna pick one,
- 4:58Speaker 1: pick standard time and leave it on standard time. So
- 5:01Speaker 1: now there's a bit of a debate going back and
- 5:02Speaker 1: forth as to, hey, you know, should we or should
- 5:05Speaker 1: we not do daylight saving permanent or standard time permanent?
- 5:09Speaker 1: The nothing's happening, not not this go around anyway.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So that's at the end of the day done, move
- 5:15Speaker 2: your move.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Your clocks back in hour. The ones that don't do
- 5:18Speaker 1: so themselves, you.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Just help somebody because I look at uh.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Steve.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Steve said, ah shit, I forgot about the time change, yep,
- 5:28Speaker 2: And so what did they have to do? Move the
- 5:30Speaker 2: clocks one more time?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Clocks fall back an hour. On Sunday morning at two am,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you magically gain an extra hour. Effectively, get an extra
- 5:38Speaker 1: hour of weekend or sleep or whatever you plan to
- 5:40Speaker 1: do with.
- 5:40Speaker 2: That hour Kevin text or DMed In by the way,
- 5:44Speaker 2: we hear the popping. I don't know if it's coming
- 5:46Speaker 2: across on video as well, but we've been trying to
- 5:49Speaker 2: get somebody to fix it.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It's an issue we've had all week and it's not good.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So any apologize for the annoyance?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Well I need to send a follow up email on that.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Probably, Yeah, I could take care of I won't do
- 5:59Speaker 1: that now though, Okay, I don't want to be side.
- 6:02Speaker 1: What was the comment you were about to read there
- 6:04Speaker 1: from you said there was?
- 6:05Speaker 2: It was just somebody's saying, hey, guys, you're awesome. Uh,
- 6:09Speaker 2: this one forgot morning guys. And then Summer Sanitarium?
- 6:14Speaker 1: What would what would that?
- 6:15Speaker 2: I noticed Metallica?
- 6:16Speaker 1: But what about it?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Didn't that happen? We did that, didn't we?
- 6:21Speaker 1: Summer Sanitarium? You had brought it up a few podcasts ago.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay. Being on daylight savings time, I think
- 6:32Speaker 2: is better going for runs in the evening while the
- 6:36Speaker 2: sun is still out. It's satisfying. Yeah, it is safe
- 6:40Speaker 2: for Like in my neighborhood, half the lights are half
- 6:43Speaker 2: the neighborhood is winter Park and they have lights of course,
- 6:46Speaker 2: and then my half Maitland does not have lights, so
- 6:50Speaker 2: it sucks, like for Halloween, is it going to be
- 6:55Speaker 2: dark this Friday? No, it stays lighter or later this
- 6:57Speaker 2: Friday because we haven't changed it.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Well, it's dark now by about seven o'clock and that
- 7:02Speaker 1: it'll be six o'clock once the time changes.
- 7:04Speaker 2: But that's beautiful because then all the little ones can
- 7:06Speaker 2: come by because I get all this candy. And as
- 7:09Speaker 2: of late, you're walking down my street, pat like this,
- 7:14Speaker 2: you're cruising down it's light light light, like dark, and
- 7:18Speaker 2: it is like pitch dark. So if I had two
- 7:22Speaker 2: little kids, I'd probably do the same thing. I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 2: I'm used to the neighborhood. I'd be a big spotlight.
- 7:27Speaker 2: But it's pretty dark.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Don't don't most people go trick or treating once it
- 7:32Speaker 1: gets dark though.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but in my neighborhood, like the little ones, really
- 7:36Speaker 2: good ones, and they go out when it's light so
- 7:38Speaker 2: everybody can see each other and check out each other's outfits.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I will say the one thing, wherever you stand on
- 7:43Speaker 1: which time standard or daylight saving time you prefer. I
- 7:48Speaker 1: do understand for folks who are at points north this
- 7:52Speaker 1: time of year, when the time changes back. It gets
- 7:55Speaker 1: dark at four o'clock in the afternoon, It'll get dark trip,
- 7:59Speaker 1: It'll get dark at four in the afternoon. That's that's
- 8:01Speaker 1: got to be kind of jarring for months on end.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So I definitely understand why you might prefer the daylight
- 8:08Speaker 1: saving option. But again, nothing's going to happen. It's it's
- 8:12Speaker 1: flip it back an hour and then we'll see what
- 8:15Speaker 1: happens when we get to March, all right. So yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: all right, so we got Halloween check. Of course Jr's
- 8:21Speaker 1: after Wien show. We should mention that that is on Saturday.
- 8:24Speaker 1: If you're here Local Taco, you're gonna be out hosting
- 8:27Speaker 1: that at the West End Trading Company in downtown Sanford.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Which is always a great venue. You know, Paul and
- 8:33Speaker 2: Dom and all the people running that place. It's it's
- 8:35Speaker 2: gonna be a good time. They're saying, come dressed up
- 8:38Speaker 2: if you like. It's after Halloween. But it's Halloween weekend?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Are you wearing a costume on Saturday?
- 8:43Speaker 2: I didn't even think about it for the event, and
- 8:45Speaker 2: I'm doing something with you, so I think I might
- 8:47Speaker 2: just go as JR R. I got you the shirt
- 8:50Speaker 2: that I have on because I'm going to go straight
- 8:52Speaker 2: from Mary then straight over to Samford.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You've already jumped ahead to Christmas though, as you have
- 8:57Speaker 1: our sister station Magic one oh seven seven Christmas logo
- 9:02Speaker 1: on here. As we roll into the Halloween weekend, you
- 9:05Speaker 1: you really are, you know, getting an early start on
- 9:07Speaker 1: the holiday season.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I didn't think about it until I saw somebody and
- 9:11Speaker 2: they go, come on, Bob, can we please have Halloween?
- 9:14Speaker 1: I go stand up a little there.
- 9:16Speaker 2: So, so that is is that I don't think about
- 9:19Speaker 2: it because when you and I leave for work, it's
- 9:22Speaker 2: dark and we're just going whatever you grab. So yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I just grabbed and I go.
- 9:28Speaker 1: As soon as the.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Person said I looked down because I don't know what
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm wearing. I looked at it and I go, oh, dude, sorry,
- 9:34Speaker 2: all right, Yeah, I was replying to this one. All right.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I want to see what they're talking about. Do you
- 9:43Speaker 2: know anything about We.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Do have someone mentioning there are a couple places like
- 9:46Speaker 1: Arizona that just stay and leave their clocks year round,
- 9:49Speaker 1: so we do understand, but most of the country does
- 9:52Speaker 1: go through this ridiculous twice a year routine.
- 9:56Speaker 2: And we know the whole we talked about this to nauseum,
- 9:59Speaker 2: to be on honest with you. Wait, we know that
- 10:01Speaker 2: it'll affect certain sports, it'll affect this. We talked about
- 10:05Speaker 2: all that.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's the same arguments. Just we just wanted
- 10:08Speaker 1: to update you on where the situation was on legally
- 10:13Speaker 1: changing it to just one or the other and leaving it.
- 10:16Speaker 1: There's nothing's happening. Let's go around.
- 10:19Speaker 2: We'll find out, all right.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So all right? Uh, you got anything else that you
- 10:22Speaker 1: wanted to bring up here today on the Off the
- 10:24Speaker 1: Air podcast. Anybody got anything we need to address here?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Somebody texted me or DM me something. I don't want
- 10:31Speaker 2: to talk about it until they Okay, they sent me
- 10:34Speaker 2: a link I want to see. Uh uh, it sucks.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I can't do. Did you hear anything about possible riots?
- 10:46Speaker 2: I'm guessing I don't know possible I can't. I could say, oh,
- 10:50Speaker 2: you can open the link on your Facebook live. I
- 10:54Speaker 2: asked her, what are you talking about.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's it's gonna no, it's gonna screw up here because
- 11:01Speaker 1: you're recording or streaming live.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead and X out
- 11:07Speaker 2: of that.
- 11:08Speaker 1: No, I haven't have you heard?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Oh, I know because of SNAP. There's uh some info
- 11:13Speaker 2: out there about rioting and breaking into Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Oh we're not all of stuff, all right, that has
- 11:22Speaker 1: to do with the shutdown. We try to stay away
- 11:24Speaker 1: from politics. There's no avoiding it sometimes. But look, yes,
- 11:29Speaker 1: it is true that as of if nothing changes Saturday,
- 11:33Speaker 1: the funding for food stamps or SNAP whatever you want
- 11:36Speaker 1: to call it, ends, and forty two million people uh
- 11:41Speaker 1: receive those benefits. And there has been and that sucks.
- 11:46Speaker 1: There has been, uh, there have been some news reports.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You can find news reports on just about anything you
- 11:52Speaker 1: want if you look hard enough. Of some grocery stores
- 11:55Speaker 1: upping their security out of fear of being uh you know, ransacked.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they're probably just supporters of BWO Bob World Orders,
- 12:04Speaker 2: which will have BWO shirts when we're out tomorrow at
- 12:09Speaker 2: the first event at four Street.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Or Saturday, Saturday.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm already I've already
- 12:16Speaker 2: had Friday and going into a day after Halloween, after
- 12:20Speaker 2: wed because you duck, because you brought up.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Have you had any caffeine today, because it sure seems
- 12:24Speaker 1: like you have.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I have.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, you can tell it. I had. You are
- 12:28Speaker 1: all over the place, man, well.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Did because I got somebody texting or d M and
- 12:32Speaker 2: N about something pretty important. Okay, but I can't hear
- 12:35Speaker 2: it because remember my audio issues on this side. That's
- 12:38Speaker 2: why I was hoping you could, but you can't because
- 12:40Speaker 2: it'll mess up the thing.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So all good, Oh god, all right, I'm trying to think.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I had one other thing I wanted to brow the storms.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I mean, we've talked about that a lot on the air,
- 12:54Speaker 2: but that damn hurricane was no joke. I talked to
- 13:00Speaker 2: a friend of ours that her family's all in Jamaica
- 13:02Speaker 2: and has been they lived there, and she said, yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 2: there's a lot of dammite.
- 13:06Speaker 1: You know, if you've ever if you've ever been to Jamaica,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you know it's two worlds there.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Man.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You've got the state of the art, beautiful resorts, which
- 13:18Speaker 1: you know are are built for the most part to
- 13:20Speaker 1: withstand this stuff. Obviously, you know, the the landscaping and
- 13:24Speaker 1: stuff's gonna get screwed up, but for the most part
- 13:27Speaker 1: they come through. Okay, But you know, the locals who
- 13:30Speaker 1: live there, it's it's have and have nots, and and
- 13:33Speaker 1: a lot of this just is what little they had
- 13:37Speaker 1: could potentially be gone. Now they haven't fully assessed all
- 13:41Speaker 1: the damage yet.
- 13:42Speaker 2: No. I was watching a reporter before it hit prior
- 13:45Speaker 2: to and he's like, yeah, well we're in this house
- 13:48Speaker 2: and obviously figured on what location there, and he said,
- 13:53Speaker 2: all the homes in Jamaica, the majority are built really
- 13:56Speaker 2: strong because the amount of storms they come through and whatever. Wow,
- 14:00Speaker 2: footage I saw where the storm went through not not
- 14:04Speaker 2: that strong.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Gone. Yeah, we go to the areas where people are
- 14:07Speaker 1: living in lean To's which is a lot of places there,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and watch something is drastically changed that I'm not.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Aware of exactly what you're saying. Yeah, how about all the.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Dip ships in their helmets and hi goggles. I just okay.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I remember when I was in Jamaica, they specifically said
- 14:26Speaker 2: just stay in the resort. If you're going to do
- 14:28Speaker 2: an excursion, you're doing it with us, and and you're
- 14:31Speaker 2: you're cool, but they say, don't just be that guy
- 14:33Speaker 2: to wander off the resort because it's not that good.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I, for the have I have nots like you said,
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'm agreeing with you. Uh you know, we we did
- 14:44Speaker 1: our honeymoon there and that was the first thing they
- 14:46Speaker 1: told us to, like, look if you. You must travel
- 14:49Speaker 1: off the resorts area. You're going to be on your own.
- 14:52Speaker 1: You're going to run into a lot of situations. Yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and uh you may very well, uh you know, get
- 14:59Speaker 1: into a dangerous situation. We'll leave it at that, so,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know, other than excursions, Yeah, I just my own
- 15:06Speaker 1: two eyeball. See what's what's there and what's probably gone
- 15:09Speaker 1: at this point. It's it's a sad situation, really is. Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Then I ripped through Cuba, tore that up Bahamas. Some
- 15:16Speaker 1: of the Bahamas are dealing with it. Now. We'll see
- 15:18Speaker 1: if this thing Bermuda. Right, it looks like it's going
- 15:22Speaker 1: to stay clear of Bermuda now on this latest forecast
- 15:25Speaker 1: that I was just looking at. But it's still gonna
- 15:27Speaker 1: have plenty of effects their rain.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Wind everything.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I just that thing that's i'd say one of
- 15:34Speaker 2: the biggest hurricanes I can remember.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Well that said, it was the most the most powerful
- 15:38Speaker 1: one ever to hit Jamaica since record keeping has has happened.
- 15:42Speaker 2: And it was the third largest sense record keeping period
- 15:46Speaker 2: for hurricanes.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Here in Florida, looks like we dodged it this season.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Oh my god. And we're just we won't say anymore
- 15:55Speaker 2: on that they were showing past storms and where the
- 16:00Speaker 2: place that gets the hit or hit the most. Did
- 16:02Speaker 2: you see which one?
- 16:03Speaker 1: It was?
- 16:04Speaker 2: Miami? Really yeah, And they were showing up by fives
- 16:08Speaker 2: and they were showing all the different storms, and it
- 16:10Speaker 2: was just one after the next, yeah, next. And they
- 16:13Speaker 2: did not have Andrew in there, because technically it wasn't
- 16:18Speaker 2: Miami it was.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It was Homestead, exactly Homestead. But Jesus, that was a doozy.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Now another that was insanity because you were down there,
- 16:29Speaker 2: living down there.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I lived there briefly, yes, in South Miami, shortly after Andrew,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and that was interesting.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and in that the war zone that it looked
- 16:42Speaker 2: like you guys had a party spot right. Well, this
- 16:46Speaker 2: amount of I mean my.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Buddies who were down there doing construction, helping locals out
- 16:52Speaker 1: whose homes were, you know, severely damaged to the point
- 16:55Speaker 1: where they were inhabitable uninhabitable.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Uh, they actually went in We're working in this one
- 17:02Speaker 1: neighborhood and they were staying in one of the houses
- 17:06Speaker 1: that was still standing, and the whole construction crew was
- 17:09Speaker 1: staying there. And I'm working up the road at the
- 17:11Speaker 1: Peaches store, which was on South you know us one,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and they're like, well, come on down after work on Friday.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, well where are you there? Okay, well
- 17:22Speaker 1: go to where all the signs stopped because there's no
- 17:24Speaker 1: signs and no traffic lights because they've all been ripped
- 17:26Speaker 1: down and twenty there's a like.
- 17:28Speaker 2: In mind, there's no GPS back.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Then right, you'll there'll be this huge a mound of
- 17:33Speaker 1: trash on the right. Go buy that one and then
- 17:36Speaker 1: two more trash piles down, Take a right into that
- 17:39Speaker 1: neighborhood and we're and we're the third. Well we're the
- 17:42Speaker 1: only house standing. M h. How I navigated over there
- 17:46Speaker 1: out of Friday.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It's crazy. Yeah, I remember just driving by it and
- 17:50Speaker 2: seeing the swath of missing trees. That was a brutal
- 17:54Speaker 2: storm too.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah. So all right, trying to trying to think if
- 18:00Speaker 1: there's anything else pressing here. We told you last week, Yes,
- 18:03Speaker 1: Earthday Birthday is coming back. You've probably already seen the
- 18:06Speaker 1: teases on our social Uh. He hasn't given us the
- 18:09Speaker 1: green light and specific day that we're announcing this yet,
- 18:12Speaker 1: has he?
- 18:13Speaker 2: No? But I'm pretty sure it's gonna be next week announcement.
- 18:18Speaker 2: You think I believe so in less things change. You know,
- 18:22Speaker 2: there's situations with contracts for bands.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I know you really are the one who controls all this,
- 18:27Speaker 1: so stop being modest.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, well, there's situations where bands have their contractual agreements
- 18:33Speaker 2: with other shows and you can't do this, can't do that.
- 18:35Speaker 2: So I'm I'm you know, dot and the eyes crossing
- 18:38Speaker 2: the t's.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Shall we just say within the next two weeks, probably
- 18:41Speaker 1: in focusing.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm gonna say I'm leaning towards next week.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I know there's a lot of places to donate for
- 18:49Speaker 2: hurricane stuff. Please don't post it on our on our
- 18:52Speaker 2: Facebook thing yet. Look on the DM we just always say.
- 18:56Speaker 1: We go we're Red Cross believers. This is just going
- 19:03Speaker 1: on our own personal observations over the years and working
- 19:06Speaker 1: in this business when there's a tragedy and everybody wants
- 19:11Speaker 1: to help and everybody's you know, trying to be charitable
- 19:14Speaker 1: and want to pitch in. Not all that stuff's legit.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It's not all legit. Red Cross for the most part,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know, gets the need to where it's needed the most.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and get.
- 19:29Speaker 1: If you're asking us, we're not speaking for our company
- 19:32Speaker 1: or anything like we're speaking for Lynchin taco, we would
- 19:35Speaker 1: point you towards the Red Cross efforts there. All right,
- 19:38Speaker 1: you got it.
- 19:39Speaker 2: So I just wanted to nip that in the bug
- 19:42Speaker 2: because I've seen some different, you know things posting my a.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah. So anyway, and right now it's like they haven't
- 19:52Speaker 1: fully even assessed what their full needs are yet. So
- 19:56Speaker 1: Red Cross will get in there and they start providing
- 19:58Speaker 1: food for people who are homeless at this point, many
- 20:03Speaker 1: of them shelter. For many of them, it might end
- 20:06Speaker 1: up being a tent. But like I said, that the
- 20:08Speaker 1: bare necessities are getting provided first and that's what's needed.
- 20:11Speaker 1: On top of this, So.
- 20:13Speaker 2: It's Laura checked in on she DMed on the j
- 20:17Speaker 2: R R Facebook Live. So my friends lost their home
- 20:20Speaker 2: in that storm, and I'm guessing Andrews then I lived
- 20:24Speaker 2: in Sweetwater growing up. Horrible that people have to go
- 20:27Speaker 2: through that fear. That fear we touched on briefly earlier
- 20:31Speaker 2: in the week. It sucks when you have no control,
- 20:36Speaker 2: you know, Like when we were I mentioned how we
- 20:39Speaker 2: were here for one of the storms and we're in
- 20:41Speaker 2: a glass building and the windows are shaking about.
- 20:44Speaker 1: To blow out at the height of the storm. And
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's always at night Why is that always at night, Murphy.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It's just but it's yeah, having that no control, and
- 20:53Speaker 2: even worse if you're near the coast because all the
- 20:57Speaker 2: storm surge and stuff.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Here comes the water sky and from the lakes and
- 21:01Speaker 1: rivers and ocean.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what, there's power lines down that
- 21:05Speaker 2: are alive, so you can't run through and run up
- 21:08Speaker 2: to a mountain and.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Anyway. All right, so I think we'll just kind of
- 21:14Speaker 1: wrap her up here for this week. We had, you know,
- 21:17Speaker 1: a couple of things we wanted to hit on there. Again, Halloween,
- 21:20Speaker 1: have a great Halloween. We hope everybody has a blast
- 21:23Speaker 1: if you're able to make it to the Afterween event
- 21:25Speaker 1: that is on Saturday after Halloween downtown Sanford West End
- 21:29Speaker 1: Trading Company.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and again in case you're just tuning in late,
- 21:34Speaker 2: you can dress up for it if you'd like to.
- 21:36Speaker 2: They're saying, hey, come dressed up.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll have a good time regardless.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a Lodo show. It's only ten bucks
- 21:42Speaker 2: and eleven cents plus like the taxes or whatever.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So yeah, it's in the Haunt. Are the featured artist
- 21:49Speaker 1: Gargamel and Velvet Chains also performing.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to seeing Gargamel too, haven't seen him
- 21:55Speaker 2: in a while. Coop.
- 21:56Speaker 1: All right, everybody, have yourself a fantastic rest of your day,
- 22:00Speaker 1: and thanks for checking out Lynching Tacos Off the Air podcast.
- 22:03Speaker 1: We update these pretty much every Thursday.
