- 1:03Speaker 4: Let's go high above the field to the press box.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Here's Christ for us. We welcome you back to Stadium
- 1:09Speaker 4: Field in Parkersburg where we are getting set for tonight's
- 1:12Speaker 4: contest between these two old rivals. We mentioned the fact
- 1:16Speaker 4: that Hurricane High Schools is celebrating one hundred years of
- 1:19Speaker 4: high school football this year. Aaron Parker joins me here
- 1:23Speaker 4: at Parkersburg. I think Parkersburg probably has been playing football
- 1:26Speaker 4: longer than that you were talking about in the pregame.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That so many traditions that go with the football games here,
- 1:32Speaker 4: just the trappings and the pomp and circumstance that go
- 1:34Speaker 4: on with as It's really incredible with their band and
- 1:36Speaker 4: what they're doing here.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Yeah, they have a really really good band. The team
- 1:39Speaker 6: coming out of an inflatable Parkersburg big red helmet rotc
- 1:43Speaker 6: folks raising the flag on the flagpole, multiple flags during
- 1:47Speaker 6: the anthem.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Really good tradition here, and they do draw a lot
- 1:50Speaker 4: of people. There are a lot of alumni in Parkersburg
- 1:52Speaker 4: that still are really invested in this team, so a
- 1:55Speaker 4: lot of them show up for every game to cheer
- 1:58Speaker 4: on the Big Reds, the Hurricane Redskins. I don't know
- 2:01Speaker 4: if they had to dress in mineral wells or what.
- 2:03Speaker 4: They literally are walking down the street beside the school,
- 2:07Speaker 4: so I don't know where the dressing room was, but
- 2:10Speaker 4: we're seeing Hurricane walking back. They literally left the stadium
- 2:13Speaker 4: and they're now walking back into the stadium to our
- 2:16Speaker 4: ride under the scoreboard is we still got about thirty
- 2:19Speaker 4: seconds left in the pregame here before everything's ready to go.
- 2:22Speaker 4: The officials have the Parkersburg captains here on the near sideline.
- 2:26Speaker 4: They're waiting for the captains over on the other side,
- 2:28Speaker 4: so we'll get that coin toss going in just a minute.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Let's run down the starting lineups tonight on offense for
- 2:34Speaker 4: the Big Reds of Parkersburg. They're starting center Rudy Colombo
- 2:37Speaker 4: not dressed out tonight. He's in street clothes, had a
- 2:41Speaker 4: foot issue, so he will not be going. They're going
- 2:43Speaker 4: to go instead with big Jordan Hess. He'll be their
- 2:46Speaker 4: center tonight. The guards are DJ Chamlis and JD. Polly,
- 2:49Speaker 4: and then Chris Cox and Drake Grinter are the tackles
- 2:53Speaker 4: that will anchor that front line for Parkersburg. Their quarterback
- 2:57Speaker 4: Cooper ken Cave. He's a senior six five hundred ninety
- 3:01Speaker 4: eight pounds. He comes into the game passing forty for
- 3:04Speaker 4: sixty with four hundred and eighteen yards. He's also rushed
- 3:06Speaker 4: twelve times for sixty seven but keep in mind he's
- 3:09Speaker 4: not thrown a touchdown pass all season. In the backfield,
- 3:12Speaker 4: the one that really makes this team go is big
- 3:14Speaker 4: number twelve, five eight, one hundred ninety pounds senior Jakel Shelton.
- 3:19Speaker 4: He's their leading rusher and right behind him is the
- 3:22Speaker 4: junior Ethan Jones. He's number two on that list, So
- 3:26Speaker 4: those two will be quite a combination tonight. When kN
- 3:29Speaker 4: K does go to the air, he's got an array
- 3:33Speaker 4: of people that he throws it to, people like Austin Craven,
- 3:36Speaker 4: Ethan Jones, as I mentioned, they'll throw to him sometimes,
- 3:40Speaker 4: Preston Riffle, Brady Thorn, Tyland Parsons, Zane Lewis Connor, Patty
- 3:44Speaker 4: Isaac Day. All of these are guys that potentially could
- 3:47Speaker 4: catch a pass tonight and we'll probably call their names.
- 3:50Speaker 4: So that's the offense that shifts a lot for this
- 3:53Speaker 4: Parkersburg Big Red team, and that's who they've got running
- 3:57Speaker 4: the battery tonight. Over on the other side of the
- 3:59Speaker 4: football for Hurricane across the front, Mason Martin, you're starting center,
- 4:03Speaker 4: Logan Frinch and Braylan Brown the guards, and Ethan Chill
- 4:06Speaker 4: and Drake lanam anchor the tackle positions in that Hurricane
- 4:10Speaker 4: front line backfield quarterback Noah Vella Tomby gets it all
- 4:14Speaker 4: started from his position. Six foot two and ten pounds,
- 4:17Speaker 4: Senior Vella tomb be a threat to throw or pass
- 4:20Speaker 4: anytime he has the football in his hands, so you've
- 4:23Speaker 4: really got to pay close attention to him when he
- 4:26Speaker 4: does hand it off. A couple of guys that come
- 4:27Speaker 4: to mind, Colin Grace in the backfield. He's the leading rusher,
- 4:31Speaker 4: but right behind him is the junior A J. Gregory,
- 4:34Speaker 4: who got a big opportunity during that first game against
- 4:37Speaker 4: Huntington and performed well.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Rhtt McGrew.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Also coming out of the backfield receivers Shalie Hampton, Jaden Smith,
- 4:43Speaker 4: ty Sewn Dues, and of course Burnett will be in
- 4:46Speaker 4: there as well, so keep that in mind. They will
- 4:49Speaker 4: throw it around a lot to all of the Jacai
- 4:52Speaker 4: Burnett and they will throw the ball around a lot.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Tommy gets it in his hands, looks like they have
- 4:56Speaker 4: thrown the coin in the air. Who won the odd
- 4:58Speaker 4: man down there?
- 4:59Speaker 6: Aaron the Big Reds won it and they elect to receive.
- 5:02Speaker 6: They want the ball to start the game on their home.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Term, all right, so Seth Casto will come out and
- 5:06Speaker 4: tee it up for Hurricane. It's a beautiful night for football.
- 5:10Speaker 4: A few clouds in the sky, but the moon is out,
- 5:13Speaker 4: the sun is setting to our back. And here come
- 5:16Speaker 4: the Big Reds onto the field, being led by the
- 5:18Speaker 4: man in the head dress and the Native American costume
- 5:23Speaker 4: carrying the large red flag with the pee on it,
- 5:27Speaker 4: followed up by the cheerleaders carrying their each of them
- 5:31Speaker 4: carrying a letter that says big Reds on a flag,
- 5:34Speaker 4: and they run the entire length of the field, and
- 5:36Speaker 4: the team comes out to the near sideline to a
- 5:39Speaker 4: fanfare as fans are on their feet getting ready for
- 5:42Speaker 4: this contest. Here, this evening hurricane across the way reminds
- 5:45Speaker 4: me a lot of when you play a game at
- 5:46Speaker 4: Ladley Field, that everybody will sit on the near sideline
- 5:49Speaker 4: and the team is by themselves. The visiting team pretty
- 5:52Speaker 4: much has the whole side of the field of themselves
- 5:54Speaker 4: over there, because, of course, as we mentioned in the
- 5:57Speaker 4: pregame show, the visitors sigh stadium of the visitor side
- 6:01Speaker 4: grandstand here at Parkersburg is not allowed for use. It
- 6:05Speaker 4: has been condemned, I'm told for many many years, and
- 6:09Speaker 4: they've not I'm not.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Sure what the issue is.
- 6:12Speaker 4: There's a story there about the difficulty they have had
- 6:15Speaker 4: trying to get something done with that. At any rate,
- 6:18Speaker 4: we're getting ready to play football here at Parkersburg. Glad
- 6:22Speaker 4: you joined us here on five eighty WCCHS, or if
- 6:24Speaker 4: you're listening in on our app, glad to have you along,
- 6:27Speaker 4: or if you're listening online, however you're catching us, we
- 6:30Speaker 4: love having you here. Aaron Parker's alongside this evening Redskins
- 6:35Speaker 4: come out. They're dressed in their white jerseys with red
- 6:38Speaker 4: helmets and black pants. Tonight Parkersburg all red, red helmets,
- 6:41Speaker 4: red jerseys and red pants. And it looks like Seth
- 6:46Speaker 4: Casto has it teed up and we're about to play
- 6:49Speaker 4: some football. Kick is in the air and it's going
- 6:51Speaker 4: to be fielded right about the five yard line, up
- 6:54Speaker 4: across the ten to the fifteen, to the twenty of
- 6:56Speaker 4: over to the twenty five.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Got a seam up to the thirty.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yard line and Parkersburg will scrimmage from the thirty carrying
- 7:08Speaker 4: the ball on that return. Tonight four the Big Reds
- 7:11Speaker 4: was Tyler Shahan and Shae Ham with a pretty good return.
- 7:18Speaker 4: They're actually going to spot him first down at the
- 7:20Speaker 4: thirty one yard line, moving left to right on your
- 7:24Speaker 4: radio dial here this evening.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Cooper kN Kaid brings him to the line.
- 7:31Speaker 4: He's got two men in the backfield, ja Kel Shelton
- 7:33Speaker 4: to his right and Jones to his left. He sends
- 7:36Speaker 4: Shelton breaking out to the left side, hands it to
- 7:39Speaker 4: Jones and flags fly and it looks like Parkersburg's going
- 7:42Speaker 4: to get an early flag.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Looks like multiple guys on the line moved. That's an
- 7:47Speaker 6: easy false start. Whistle blow plays dead. They'll back them
- 7:50Speaker 6: up five yards.
- 7:51Speaker 4: They kick Shelton out to the left side there and
- 7:54Speaker 4: then tried to do a draw play, handing it off
- 7:56Speaker 4: to Ethan Jones, but play was blown dead, so they
- 7:59Speaker 4: kind of showed their hand a little bit there. Backs
- 8:02Speaker 4: him up five it'll be first down in fifteen. Balls
- 8:04Speaker 4: spotted at the Parkersburg twenty six yard line. Big Reds
- 8:07Speaker 4: with the ball to get this game started. We're just
- 8:09Speaker 4: underway in Parkersburg this time. He's got Shelton to his
- 8:15Speaker 4: left side. Twin receivers either way for Kancaid brings a
- 8:18Speaker 4: man in motion right to left, hands it off to Shelton,
- 8:23Speaker 4: pushes his way forward back up over the thirty yard line,
- 8:26Speaker 4: picks up the five they lost on the penalty, and
- 8:29Speaker 4: that'll put them in second and ten. As Jakel Shelton
- 8:32Speaker 4: carried the ball for the Big Reds on the draw play,
- 8:35Speaker 4: a lot of ourpo in this offense.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You'll see ken Kaid.
- 8:39Speaker 4: He'll look around and he might put it into the
- 8:42Speaker 4: belly of his running back and pull it out.
- 8:44Speaker 6: And Shelton is a loose of twenty two carries for
- 8:46Speaker 6: seventy nine yards against Morgantown last week, but six catches
- 8:49Speaker 6: for forty nine as well.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Yeah, he can throw it or he can catch it
- 8:52Speaker 4: and run at Shelton off to the right side of
- 8:55Speaker 4: ken Kaid, snap back, and they blow the play dead again.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I think it was the near side official. Now check
- 9:07Speaker 4: me that was the far side official that threw the flag.
- 9:09Speaker 4: And the call is gonna be off sides against Hurricanes.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So the five yards that Parkersburg gave up, Hurricane gives
- 9:17Speaker 4: it right back to them. That moves the stick and
- 9:19Speaker 4: the chains up marker. Now at the Parkersburg thirty seven
- 9:23Speaker 4: and it'll be second down and four for the Big Reds. Kanka,
- 9:31Speaker 4: with two men in the backfield, splits Shelton out to
- 9:33Speaker 4: the left, hands it off up through the middle of Jones.
- 9:36Speaker 4: He's got first down yardedg had more up over the
- 9:38Speaker 4: forty five to about the forty seven yard line. Goes
- 9:41Speaker 4: Ethan Jones with the carry for the Big Reds, and
- 9:44Speaker 4: they've got a first down.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Running right up the gut, right into the teeth of
- 9:47Speaker 6: the Hurricane defensive front right there. Good job there, running
- 9:51Speaker 6: in between the tackle. Is not much leverage on the
- 9:53Speaker 6: Hurricane defensive line.
- 9:55Speaker 4: First and ten for Parkersburg. They've got the ball with
- 9:58Speaker 4: their own forty two yard line. Redskins defense trying to
- 10:03Speaker 4: dig in three receivers to the right for can Kate
- 10:08Speaker 4: out of the shotgun, fakes the handoff, keeps it himself,
- 10:10Speaker 4: comes to the near side up over the fifty yard line.
- 10:13Speaker 4: He slid down and the defender tried to jump over
- 10:17Speaker 4: top of him but wound up hitting him. Parkersburg wanted
- 10:20Speaker 4: a flag. Officials said no, that was just insolent conduct.
- 10:24Speaker 4: He was trying to miss him, so no harm, no foul.
- 10:27Speaker 4: But kN Kate on the quarterback keeper picks up five
- 10:30Speaker 4: and takes it into a hurricane territory at the forty
- 10:32Speaker 4: nine yard line.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Second down him five.
- 10:33Speaker 6: I'm really interested to see Chris what Cooper Kankad can do.
- 10:36Speaker 6: A three baby starter, six foot five, one ninety eight pounds,
- 10:40Speaker 6: a baseball player. He's got a lot of talent and
- 10:43Speaker 6: a good built.
- 10:43Speaker 4: He's a big dude, There's no doubt about that. He's
- 10:45Speaker 4: the tallest one out there for sure. Kanka shotgun hands
- 10:49Speaker 4: it off. Shelton coming to the near side, turns the corner.
- 10:51Speaker 4: They run him out of my ounds. Short of the
- 10:53Speaker 4: first down goes Jakel. Shelton takes out a camera, a
- 10:57Speaker 4: lady taking pictures. The female photographer hits the She's okay,
- 11:01Speaker 4: she's up checking her equipment, more worried about that than
- 11:03Speaker 4: she was herself. He's gonna pick up a couple on
- 11:06Speaker 4: the play, takes the ball to the forty seven yard line.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Gonna be third down and four now for the Big Reds.
- 11:12Speaker 4: And this is an opportunity for that Hurricane defense. Let's
- 11:15Speaker 4: see if kank goes to the air for the first
- 11:17Speaker 4: time tonight.
- 11:18Speaker 6: Getting off the field for the hurricane defense early is
- 11:20Speaker 6: something we have not seen them be able to do
- 11:22Speaker 6: throughout the first two games.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Kank is gonna send twin receivers either way. He's got
- 11:27Speaker 4: Shelton off his left hip as he stands in the
- 11:29Speaker 4: shotgun formation, hands it off to Shelton, who drives ahead.
- 11:33Speaker 4: He's very close to the first down, takes it down
- 11:36Speaker 4: inside the forty five yard line. He needed to get
- 11:39Speaker 4: to the forty three. It will depend on the spot.
- 11:43Speaker 4: I believe he's gonna be short. Yeah, they're gonna say
- 11:45Speaker 4: he's well short by about a yard. It'll be fourth
- 11:48Speaker 4: down and one. Let's see if Matt Chimes will roll
- 11:51Speaker 4: the ice here and if Hurricane can come up with
- 11:54Speaker 4: a stop, because that would be excellent field position for
- 11:57Speaker 4: the Redskins. No scoreunderway, nine thirty to go in the
- 12:01Speaker 4: first period. They're going to go for it on fourth
- 12:03Speaker 4: and one, shotgun formation. Maybe the try and draw him
- 12:06Speaker 4: off side. Nope, they handed off. Hit the man, he's
- 12:08Speaker 4: got it. It's a quarterback. Keep it on the right side.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Nice job by Cooper, kancaid. He faked the handoff to Shelton.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Shelton got blown up immediately. The problem was he didn't
- 12:17Speaker 4: have the football. Cooper kancaid was able to escape out
- 12:20Speaker 4: to the right side and he took it all the
- 12:22Speaker 4: way down to the Hurricane thirty seven yard thirty six
- 12:25Speaker 4: yard line, and that is a conversion on fourth down
- 12:28Speaker 4: for the Big Reds.
- 12:29Speaker 3: They continue their drive.
- 12:30Speaker 6: If I executed well, Chris, the Reid option is the
- 12:32Speaker 6: perfect play on fourth and one, fourth and short. The
- 12:35Speaker 6: Hurricane defensive line blew up Shelton, but great job by
- 12:38Speaker 6: ken k to pull it out.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Sure did a great job that time. Kankaid sold it well.
- 12:42Speaker 4: He's now at the shotgun position. He sends Jones to
- 12:46Speaker 4: the left, snap back. Now he's dropping back looking the pass.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Pressure guns pops it over, picked off. Here we go
- 12:51Speaker 4: the other way into the open field of the forty
- 12:54Speaker 4: to the thirty to the ten touchdown Hurricane, it's going
- 13:00Speaker 4: to be coming up with it. Joey Keano who jumped
- 13:03Speaker 4: the route and caught the screen pass that was intended
- 13:08Speaker 4: for Jacal Shelton. Kan Ka did a great job of
- 13:12Speaker 4: second in. The defenders tried to throw it over their head,
- 13:15Speaker 4: but Keano not fooled, broke on the ball, caught it
- 13:19Speaker 4: and it was a foot race and he won it
- 13:21Speaker 4: all the way into the end zone and with eight
- 13:23Speaker 4: thirty eight to go, Hurricane draws first blood with a
- 13:25Speaker 4: pick six.
- 13:26Speaker 6: Want to play there by Keano A lot of experience
- 13:29Speaker 6: in number thirty three, a lot of big tackles through
- 13:31Speaker 6: the first two games. No bigger play than that right there.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Joey Keano with the touchdown. We'll do the calculations on however,
- 13:41Speaker 4: how far it was here in just a moment on
- 13:43Speaker 4: the field, Seth Casto for the extra point. They muffed
- 13:46Speaker 4: the snap and that's not going to go anywhere. So
- 13:49Speaker 4: it's gonna have to be six points as they take
- 13:52Speaker 4: down the holder and could not get the snap in
- 13:54Speaker 4: their rights. So Hurricane draws first blood. They've got six points.
- 13:57Speaker 4: They missed the extra points, but they are on the
- 14:00Speaker 4: six nothing with eight thirty eight to go. In the
- 14:01Speaker 4: first you're listening to high school football on the voice
- 14:04Speaker 4: at Charleston five eighty WCHS.

- 14:30Speaker 7: physical therapy to the Redskins community for over twenty five years.
- 14:34Speaker 7: Go to generationspt dot com for more information.
- 14:41Speaker 6: Welcome into the stadium, Field, Iana, Parkersburg. Six nothing of
- 14:44Speaker 6: your score, eight thirty eight left in the first quarter
- 14:46Speaker 6: a pick six by Joey Keana, the linebacker five foot eleven,
- 14:49Speaker 6: two hundred and twenty five pound senior. He gets the
- 14:52Speaker 6: deflection interception and runs it back to the house.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Chris did Indeed, he jumped that route perfectly stayed right
- 14:58Speaker 4: at home. Had he not done that, Parkersburg might have
- 15:00Speaker 4: broken that one for big yardage. As it stands, hurri
- 15:03Speaker 4: Can leads six to nothing as Casto lines up to
- 15:05Speaker 4: kick it away. Kick is in the air, coming down,
- 15:09Speaker 4: this time to Shaehn again at the four, over the five, ten,
- 15:12Speaker 4: fifteen to the twenty. He's hit makes a man mess
- 15:15Speaker 4: up to the twenty five. Across the twenty five goes
- 15:17Speaker 4: Shahan on the return. Tyler Shahan with that return and
- 15:21Speaker 4: the Big Reds will start this drive at their own
- 15:23Speaker 4: twenty eight yard line. So We've seen a couple of
- 15:27Speaker 4: exciting pick six on defense. For all the points they've
- 15:30Speaker 4: been given up, Hurricanes defense has scored some this year.
- 15:32Speaker 6: Too, and that's what keeps them in the game early
- 15:35Speaker 6: because they do give up yardage early. We'll see if
- 15:38Speaker 6: they can get off the field right here. But a
- 15:39Speaker 6: big play by Keano gives them some leverage.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Opening game against Huntington, Legros had that ninety six yard
- 15:47Speaker 4: pick six. Huge one there. Twin guys in the backfield,
- 15:51Speaker 4: delayed hand off to Shelton. Shelton's going to be hitting.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Keano's right there to bring him down. He picks up
- 15:56Speaker 4: about two pushes it ahead to the thirty yard line
- 16:00Speaker 4: hell Shelton and it'll be second down and eight.
- 16:02Speaker 6: And Keanu made a lot of good plays last week
- 16:04Speaker 6: against Spring Valley and when in the second half when
- 16:07Speaker 6: Huntington could not hardly be stopped by Hurk and Keanu
- 16:11Speaker 6: was about the only one making the big plays. He's
- 16:13Speaker 6: got a lot of experience. He doesn't have the height,
- 16:16Speaker 6: but he's got the stature and he's a good linebacker
- 16:18Speaker 6: here in the senior year.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Yeah, from that outside linebacker position, he is a headhunter.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Parkersburg breaks the huddle. Cooper kan Kaid brings his team
- 16:30Speaker 4: to the line. Since twin receivers to the left, one
- 16:32Speaker 4: to the right, and he's got Jones to his right
- 16:34Speaker 4: and Shelton to his left. Now he's gonna break Jones out,
- 16:37Speaker 4: send him in motion, handoff Shelton right up the middle
- 16:39Speaker 4: of the late hand off. He's got it, pushes it ahead,
- 16:41Speaker 4: goes up over the thirty five and he's brought down
- 16:44Speaker 4: very close to the first down marker. It will depend
- 16:46Speaker 4: on the spot, but I believe he got it, Yes,
- 16:49Speaker 4: he did.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Shelton is a quick runner. His feet are quickly moving,
- 16:53Speaker 6: kind of the opposite of Kyleen Grays. Kyleen Grays kind
- 16:56Speaker 6: of slow moving and waiting on his block blocks, and
- 16:59Speaker 6: then he'll hit it downfield, downhill. Excuse me, but Sheldon
- 17:03Speaker 6: really going quick from the start.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Thirty eight yard line is the line of scrimmage for
- 17:06Speaker 4: the Big Reds. They got it first and ten. They
- 17:08Speaker 4: trail six nothing. Parkersburg's had the ball the whole game,
- 17:12Speaker 4: but Hurricane leads six to nothing. Now they bring a
- 17:14Speaker 4: man in motion right to left, delayed hand off to Shelton.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Shelton hitting the backfield. They're going to drop him for
- 17:19Speaker 4: a loss. Nice job defensively coming in there for Hurricane.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Give credit that time to Big Steven Lusher who got
- 17:26Speaker 4: back there and got his hands on Shelton before he
- 17:29Speaker 4: could get there. Shelton's had an opportunity to really break
- 17:31Speaker 4: away because there has been a hole there that time
- 17:34Speaker 4: there was nothing.
- 17:36Speaker 6: And like we said in the pregame, Chris, the Hurricane defense,
- 17:39Speaker 6: the secondary has been tested and they have not answered
- 17:41Speaker 6: the bell through the first two games. But this Parkersburg
- 17:44Speaker 6: team is not built to go into the air like
- 17:45Speaker 6: Spring Valley and Huntington.
- 17:47Speaker 4: They did give him a yard on the play. It'll
- 17:49Speaker 4: be second down and nine trips to the left this
- 17:52Speaker 4: time for Parkersburg. Hand off again to Shelton, who's hit
- 17:54Speaker 4: at the line of scrimmage, bottled up right there. He'll
- 17:57Speaker 4: get a couple and that will be it. Jakel's Helton
- 18:01Speaker 4: getting a couple, but that's about it. Taking it ahead
- 18:04Speaker 4: to the forty two yard line of the Big Reds,
- 18:06Speaker 4: it'll be third down and seven for Parkersburg.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Third and long here likely going to the air, and
- 18:12Speaker 6: they know Hurrican knows that. I like to see how
- 18:15Speaker 6: Cooper Kankad can come back after the pick six. He
- 18:17Speaker 6: threw his towel down after the play in frustration. How
- 18:20Speaker 6: can he come back right here?
- 18:21Speaker 4: Well, we talked in the pregame about how Hurricane had
- 18:23Speaker 4: worked on that secondary and having the rise in the
- 18:25Speaker 4: right place. Keano was perfectly positioned on that pick six.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Here we go, third down and seven, snap back to Kank,
- 18:31Speaker 4: drops back, looks, throws across the middle. It is incomplete
- 18:35Speaker 4: through it low and his receiver could not come up
- 18:37Speaker 4: with it. Intended receiver was Brady Thorn. Thorn just a freshman,
- 18:42Speaker 4: but man. He is having a year as a ninth grader.
- 18:45Speaker 4: He's got five catches for sixty two yards for this
- 18:49Speaker 4: Parkersburg team. That brings up fourth down in six now
- 18:52Speaker 4: and the Big Reds will punt it away.
- 18:55Speaker 3: On to punt. It looks like.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Zane Lewis puts his foot into it. It's in the
- 19:01Speaker 4: air coming down and they're just gonna let it hit
- 19:04Speaker 4: and roll out of bounds, did Hurricane? And here we go?
- 19:10Speaker 4: So the ball goes over Hurricanes defense holes and the
- 19:13Speaker 4: offense comes on for the first time tonight with five
- 19:15Speaker 4: point fifty seven to go in a six nothing lead.
- 19:18Speaker 6: Chris, did we see a first quarter punt in either
- 19:20Speaker 6: of the first two games we called it. I don't
- 19:21Speaker 6: believe we.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Did nothing, and we did but two very good series
- 19:25Speaker 4: for the Hurricane defense. There they as they are now
- 19:30Speaker 4: in business, all right. Vella Tommy brings his team to
- 19:38Speaker 4: line first and ten, ball at their own twenty nine
- 19:41Speaker 4: yard line. Snap back hand off, Nope, Keptive throws it
- 19:45Speaker 4: out into the flat. It is complete to Burnett. Burnett
- 19:48Speaker 4: gonna pick up about five nice fake by Vella. Tomby
- 19:50Speaker 4: fake me out that time. I thought he was putting
- 19:52Speaker 4: it into the arms of Colin Grace, but he pulled
- 19:55Speaker 4: it out because he saw July Burnett jump across the
- 19:58Speaker 4: line wide open and completed pass for about a five
- 20:01Speaker 4: yard pickup. Now they have not Oh there's a marker
- 20:06Speaker 4: on the play. Let's see what the call is, and
- 20:10Speaker 4: they're gonna say that Hurricane was guilty of having an
- 20:12Speaker 4: ineligible man down field, so Burnett's completion will not stand,
- 20:17Speaker 4: and instead of having a five yard gain, they're gonna
- 20:19Speaker 4: back them up five yards and it will be first
- 20:21Speaker 4: down in fifteen. Now for the Redskins, look on the
- 20:25Speaker 4: right side.
- 20:26Speaker 6: There you have Jolly Burnett and Hilie Campton on the
- 20:29Speaker 6: right side in single coverage. I think Vellaphonbie might be
- 20:32Speaker 6: looking that way a lot in the first half.
- 20:33Speaker 4: He's got those two guys on the right and twin
- 20:35Speaker 4: receivers over here on the left. Takes the handoff again,
- 20:38Speaker 4: same play, throws at this time, goes high and Burnette's there,
- 20:41Speaker 4: got it at the forty at the thirty, and he's
- 20:44Speaker 4: finally knocked down inside the Parkersburg thirty yard line. Nice
- 20:47Speaker 4: job that time, Jolly Burnett coming down with the catch,
- 20:51Speaker 4: and Hurricane with a big with a big pickup on
- 20:56Speaker 4: that play.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Like I said, two of the receivers and the biggest
- 21:01Speaker 6: receivers on the Hurricane side on the right side in
- 21:03Speaker 6: single coverage.
- 21:09Speaker 4: First and ten, ball is at the twenty six yard
- 21:12Speaker 4: line of the Big Grid twenty four yard line of
- 21:14Speaker 4: the Big Reds. First head off to Kylin Grays. Grace
- 21:16Speaker 4: goes to the right, makes a couple of people miss
- 21:18Speaker 4: fighting his way for yardage down inside the twenty yard line.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Goes Kylon Grace for Hurricane. Nice powerful run that time,
- 21:27Speaker 4: and he sliced up that Big Red defense with authority
- 21:30Speaker 4: eight yard pickups. Second and two now for Hurricane Bella.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Tomby got Grace to his right, snap back fakes the handoff,
- 21:40Speaker 4: throws it into the end zone. Man is there and
- 21:42Speaker 4: it is Did he catch it? Are they gonna call
- 21:44Speaker 4: it a catch? Yes? Jaliek Hampton hauling it in. After
- 21:48Speaker 4: bouncing it on his fingertips several times, he hauled it
- 21:52Speaker 4: in at the last moment. Official right there looking at
- 21:54Speaker 4: it and touched down. Redskins want to catch.
- 21:58Speaker 6: What concentration by Sympton? It looked like he bobbled at
- 22:01Speaker 6: two different times after the defensive back came in his area,
- 22:05Speaker 6: still held on state in bounds and made the play.
- 22:08Speaker 6: What a touchdown?
- 22:08Speaker 4: Grab Bella Tomby just threw that one up and that
- 22:12Speaker 4: was Shalikampton just making a play right there. Defender fell
- 22:15Speaker 4: down and it went right into Shalik's hands, but he
- 22:18Speaker 4: was having a hard time hanging on to it. And
- 22:21Speaker 4: now they've got a twelve to nothing lead, so Hurricane's
- 22:23Speaker 4: going to go for two. Snapped back fakes the hand off,
- 22:26Speaker 4: Bella Tommy rolling the right, throws it, got a man
- 22:28Speaker 4: there and he got it. That was Rhett McGrew hauling
- 22:30Speaker 4: it in for the two point conversion and with four
- 22:34Speaker 4: forty seven ago in the first period, Hurricane builds a
- 22:36Speaker 4: fourteen nothing lead over Parkersburg. This is high school football
- 22:40Speaker 4: and the voice of Charleston. Five to eighty WCHS.
- 22:43Speaker 8: Hutnam County Bank proudly supports Hurricane High School and its

- 23:08Speaker 8: Go Redskins, Putnham County Bank supporting our communities champions, Welcome
- 23:16Speaker 8: back to.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Parkers for fourteen to nothing. Redskins lead the Big Reds
- 23:19Speaker 6: four forty seven to go in the first quarter, a
- 23:22Speaker 6: four play, seventy one yard drive capped off by an
- 23:25Speaker 6: incredible twenty seven yard touchdown catch by Schulie Campton. A
- 23:28Speaker 6: forty seven yard catch by Jolly Burnett really set things up.
- 23:32Speaker 4: For the Redskins. You had two Big Blaze and Hurricans
- 23:33Speaker 4: in the end zone and got the two point conversion
- 23:35Speaker 4: seth Casto on to kick it away deep to receive
- 23:38Speaker 4: Brady Thorn and Tyler Shahan for the Big Reds. Ball's
- 23:41Speaker 4: gonna come down this time again to Shay Hannon, this
- 23:44Speaker 4: time at the ten, over the fifteen to the twenty,
- 23:46Speaker 4: twenty five to thirty into the open field across the forty.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Got a man to beat. He beat hid, has to
- 23:50Speaker 4: beat the kicker. He's running round past him and he's
- 23:53Speaker 4: not going to be caught. A touchdown for Brady Thorn.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Ninety yard touchdown return on the kickoff, and just like that,
- 24:03Speaker 4: Parkersburg uses special teams to get themselves right back into it.
- 24:09Speaker 3: So the Big Reds.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Brady Thorn took it right at the ten, found a
- 24:12Speaker 4: seam right up the middle of them, Bentett back to
- 24:14Speaker 4: the right. Two people had to get to him, and
- 24:17Speaker 4: neither one of them could. He made him both miss
- 24:19Speaker 4: and outran the kicker cast Oh and it was a
- 24:21Speaker 4: touchdown with the Big Reds.
- 24:22Speaker 6: And so far the Big Reds offense does not look
- 24:24Speaker 6: to be very efficient, but the special teams. Brady Thorn
- 24:27Speaker 6: looked good in both of the kicks before that, and man,
- 24:30Speaker 6: he was gone. Just had to beat Seth Casto, and
- 24:33Speaker 6: he did that. Just by about a half step and
- 24:35Speaker 6: he was gone.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Quenton Wright on to attempt the extra point for Parkersburg.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Foot is into it, balls in the air, and the
- 24:42Speaker 4: kick is good. So just like that, with four thirty
- 24:45Speaker 4: five to go in the first period, Parkersburg answers back
- 24:49Speaker 4: fourteen to seven. Hurricane on top. You're listening the high
- 24:51Speaker 4: school football on the Voice of Charleston five to eighty wchs.

- 25:24Speaker 9: dot com.
- 25:29Speaker 6: Four what to go in the first quarter, it's fourteen
- 25:31Speaker 6: to seven. Parkersburg gets on the board with a ninety
- 25:33Speaker 6: yard touchdown on the kickoff by Brady Thorn.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Kind Of a bummer there, because Hurricane kind of had
- 25:38Speaker 4: them rocking back on their heels. They scored the defensive touchdown,
- 25:41Speaker 4: then drove it down on a quick drive and scored
- 25:43Speaker 4: again and got the two point conversion. Parkersburg had their
- 25:46Speaker 4: dabber down a little bit right there, but man, that
- 25:48Speaker 4: re energized this home crowd, and now we got ourselves
- 25:51Speaker 4: a ball game again, just as Hurricane was about to
- 25:54Speaker 4: get hold of it and start having their way with
- 25:56Speaker 4: them deep to receive in the middle for Herrick and
- 26:00Speaker 4: his ty sewn Dues.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Let's see if they kick it away from him. Here
- 26:04Speaker 3: comes the kick.
- 26:04Speaker 4: They kick it in the air, it's gonna squib down
- 26:07Speaker 4: and be fielded right at about the fifteen yard line.
- 26:09Speaker 4: It's not Dues. But he's going across the field and
- 26:12Speaker 4: moves it up to the twenty and gives a little ground,
- 26:15Speaker 4: and now he's gonna be wrestled down even further down.
- 26:19Speaker 4: And all on that one in and was Sean Legross
- 26:22Speaker 4: is trying to make something happen, and really you just
- 26:24Speaker 4: put it in reverse. He went east and west and
- 26:27Speaker 4: gave too much ground. And now they're gonna say, they're
- 26:31Speaker 4: gonna say he was at the twenty yard line.
- 26:33Speaker 6: And when a team like this early on. Is dominating
- 26:35Speaker 6: in two of the three phases of the game, offense
- 26:38Speaker 6: and defense, and that's what we're seeing from Hurricanes so far.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Special teams becomes even more special, especially for Parkersburg. Can't
- 26:46Speaker 6: really get anything going on offense, so they use special teams.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, Legros was trying to make something happen there, but
- 26:52Speaker 4: went down right at the twenty hand off this time,
- 26:54Speaker 4: it looks like carrying the ball this time, nice stick
- 26:57Speaker 4: to stop him there. That was aj Gregory on the harry.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Now excuse me, Colin Grace. That was Colin Grace and
- 27:04Speaker 4: he is going to move ahead for about five yard pickup.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Nice stick that time. At the end for Parkersburg defense,
- 27:11Speaker 4: here comes Hurrican playing quickly snap back to Bella.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Tomby fakes the handoff looking down field, puts it high
- 27:15Speaker 3: in the air.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Man is down there hold in at the thirty five
- 27:18Speaker 4: to the thirty to the twenty, and they finally shoe
- 27:21Speaker 4: string tackle him at the fifteen yard line. Ty Sean
- 27:24Speaker 4: Dues holding it in over his shoulder. Great pass by
- 27:27Speaker 4: Bella Tomby to drop it right in the pickle barrel
- 27:30Speaker 4: and Dues has it down in the red zone again
- 27:33Speaker 4: for the Hurricane Redskins.
- 27:35Speaker 6: What an unbelievable route there by Tyshawn Dues able to
- 27:38Speaker 6: get down the field quickly, three steps ahead of his man.
- 27:42Speaker 6: What to play?
- 27:44Speaker 4: Hurricanes got it first and ten at the Parkersburg fifteen
- 27:47Speaker 4: yard line. Bella Tomby snaps over his head. He has
- 27:49Speaker 4: to go back and just fall on it right back
- 27:51Speaker 4: at the thirty three yard line, a huge loss of
- 27:56Speaker 4: eighteen yards all the way back to the thirty three.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Tomby the senior alertly knowing that he doesn't want to
- 28:03Speaker 4: mess around and lose the football in this situation, so
- 28:06Speaker 4: just fell on it and took the loss. But boy,
- 28:09Speaker 4: that was a problem right there on the snap.
- 28:11Speaker 6: We've seen snap issues all year for Hurricane totally not
- 28:15Speaker 6: totally negating the sixty five yard reception by Tyshawn Dues,
- 28:18Speaker 6: but really, you know, shooting yourself in the foot after
- 28:21Speaker 6: one of the biggest plays of the game.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Snap back fakes the handoff Bella Tommy to the right side.
- 28:26Speaker 4: He's got it inside the thirty to the twenty five
- 28:28Speaker 4: on the twenty and then he slides down back at
- 28:30Speaker 4: about the sixteen and seventeen yard line. Noevella Tomby gains
- 28:34Speaker 4: back what he lost on the errant snap or close
- 28:37Speaker 4: to it.
- 28:41Speaker 3: They're going to spot the ball at.
- 28:43Speaker 4: The seventeen yard line. Third down and twelve, much more
- 28:48Speaker 4: manageable than what they were facing Vella. Tomby sends twin
- 28:52Speaker 4: receivers to the right. He's got Grace in the backfield
- 28:55Speaker 4: with him and twin receivers to the left, drops back,
- 28:58Speaker 4: throws it into the corner the end zone and overthrows everybody.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I think he was intending it for Tyshawn Dues. I
- 29:05Speaker 4: think he wanted Dues in the corner. Dues made a
- 29:07Speaker 4: break for the goal post, and I think there was
- 29:10Speaker 4: just some miscommunication on the route that time. So that
- 29:13Speaker 4: brings up fourth down and let's see if the Redskins
- 29:15Speaker 4: will go for it here they may they're gonna side it,
- 29:19Speaker 4: put it over on the left. Hash Mark valotom Be
- 29:21Speaker 4: staying in there. Fourth down and twelve for Hurricane valoton
- 29:25Speaker 4: Be calling for the ball, and he draws Parkersburg off sides,
- 29:28Speaker 4: so that'll give him five and that'll make it fourth
- 29:33Speaker 4: down and seven. So make it a little easier for yourself.
- 29:39Speaker 6: From fourth and and long to fourth and semi manageable.
- 29:42Speaker 6: You don't want to give any steps to hurric and
- 29:44Speaker 6: this offense is explosive. And to give them five yards
- 29:47Speaker 6: on fourth down when they're kind of on the brink
- 29:49Speaker 6: of field goal range but just outside of it, not
- 29:52Speaker 6: a mistake you want to make.
- 29:53Speaker 4: I think they're within field goal range. I do believe
- 29:56Speaker 4: that Casto could hit it from there. He was hitting
- 29:57Speaker 4: them from about forty yards. In pregame, Velletomby messing with
- 30:03Speaker 4: the defense again, calls a couple of times the defense
- 30:06Speaker 4: switches up at front, but they don't get flagged. Clock
- 30:09Speaker 4: is winding down to twenty four seconds. There's the snap
- 30:12Speaker 4: valet Tomby looking throws it this time into the corner
- 30:15Speaker 4: and over throws everybody and Parkersburg's defense is gonna hold.
- 30:19Speaker 4: So after a big play that got the ball down
- 30:21Speaker 4: in the red zone, Hurricane is unable to cash in.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Parkersburg will take over on downs at their own twelve
- 30:28Speaker 4: yard line, trailing fourteen to seven.
- 30:31Speaker 6: That's a big energy booster for the big reds right
- 30:34Speaker 6: after going down fourteen to nothing early on your home field.
- 30:37Speaker 6: You get a big kicker turn touchdown and you're able
- 30:40Speaker 6: to hold the Redskins after a huge play by Tyshawn Dues.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that time that was just that time was on
- 30:45Speaker 4: velat Tomby just threw it too far and Dues had
- 30:49Speaker 4: no shot at even making a play on it.
- 30:51Speaker 3: But that was the same play that he had hoped.
- 30:53Speaker 4: That they would get earlier, and Dues had a different
- 30:57Speaker 4: route in mind, and they were not on the same page.
- 30:59Speaker 4: All right. Here we Gocaid brings him to the line.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Three receivers to the left, one to the right. Snap back, he.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Looks throws coming out of the backfield.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Shelton takes it ahead to the twenty yard line and
- 31:09Speaker 4: is knocked out of bounds. Defensively coming up to cover him. No,
- 31:13Speaker 4: Sean Hampton knocks him out of bounds right at about
- 31:16Speaker 4: the twenty yard line. So that received that reception by
- 31:20Speaker 4: Shelton for eight yards at'll least second down and two
- 31:23Speaker 4: for the Big Reds.
- 31:24Speaker 6: The special team makes a big play for you and
- 31:27Speaker 6: the defense makes a big play. Can Cooper kin Kate
- 31:29Speaker 6: at the end of the first quarter get in a
- 31:31Speaker 6: groove and get comfortable behind center.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Ball spotted at the twenty yard line, Hurricane with a
- 31:35Speaker 4: four man front, two receivers left one and the right.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Two men in the backfield. Now he's gonna send Jones
- 31:41Speaker 4: to the left, hand it off ahead. What a hit
- 31:45Speaker 4: Shelton has brought down that time, and uh uh, he
- 31:47Speaker 4: wasn't going anywhere, according to the big middleman, Darien Davis,
- 31:53Speaker 4: who stepped up and stopped him. Col Hurrican with a
- 31:55Speaker 4: four man front, two receivers left one and the right.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Two men in the backfield. Now he's gonna send Jones
- 32:02Speaker 4: to the left, hand it off ahead. What a hit
- 32:05Speaker 4: Sheldon has brought down that time, and uh uh, he
- 32:07Speaker 4: wasn't going anywhere, according to the big middleman, Darien Davis,
- 32:13Speaker 4: who stepped up and stopped him cold at the line
- 32:15Speaker 4: of scrimmage.
- 32:16Speaker 3: No gain on the play.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Redskins defense said, we're not going to play that game
- 32:20Speaker 4: this time.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Third down and two for the Big.
- 32:23Speaker 6: Reds Darien Davis holding down the ford as the noseguard
- 32:27Speaker 6: right there, got a ton of leverage right there. Didn't
- 32:29Speaker 6: Harley look like he got touched?
- 32:31Speaker 4: Ja kel Shelton felt that one. I guarantee you third
- 32:34Speaker 4: down and two. Big play here for the Big Reds
- 32:37Speaker 4: Twin twins in the backfield. Now he's going to send
- 32:39Speaker 4: Jones out to the left snap, hands it off again.
- 32:42Speaker 4: He gets through this time and Shelton pushes it ahead
- 32:45Speaker 4: for first down yardage up over the twenty five yard line.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Ja Kel Shelton with to carry and that's gonna be
- 32:51Speaker 4: enough for a Parkersburg first down to the twenty six.
- 32:55Speaker 6: And can can kid get comfortable? But he was going
- 32:58Speaker 6: to rely on Shelton. Shelter already comfortable. Has not gotten
- 33:01Speaker 6: into the end zone yet, but he's already warm and
- 33:04Speaker 6: his legs have been moving the entire first quarter.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's feast or famine with him. Sometimes when the
- 33:08Speaker 4: defense gets in they get him for a loss. But
- 33:10Speaker 4: if he gets through there, he's going to get some yardage.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Same formation, they send Jones out to the left side
- 33:16Speaker 4: in motion. Kancaid looking throws out into the flat. He
- 33:19Speaker 4: is complete to Jones. Jones up to the thirty yard
- 33:22Speaker 4: line and rolls out of Alands over on the far
- 33:24Speaker 4: sideline right at the thirty yard line. It's going to
- 33:29Speaker 4: be a pickup of about four second down and six
- 33:34Speaker 4: for Parkersburg. A minute four left here in the first period.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Hurricanes got a fourteen to seven lead. Ball spotted at
- 33:44Speaker 4: the thirty second and six for Parkersburg. Big Reds quarterback
- 33:48Speaker 4: Cooper ken Kaid brings his team to the line. Jakel's
- 33:51Speaker 4: Shelton to his right, Ethan Jones to his left. In
- 33:55Speaker 4: the backfield, snap hand off to Shelton. Shelton trying to
- 33:58Speaker 4: maneuver through traffic, can't do it, lose a couple of yards.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Nice job defensively, Keano coming in there and making the stop.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Also helping him out defensively that time Jonah will Fong.
- 34:10Speaker 4: So those headhunters in the middle of that linebacking corps
- 34:15Speaker 4: got their eyes on Shelton and went and got him.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Kano lost of a battle yard.
- 34:19Speaker 6: Keanu has been great this far. Two tackles for Losston,
- 34:21Speaker 6: a pick six. Wow, what a first quarter for number
- 34:24Speaker 6: thirty three.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Third down and seven.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Ball is spotted back at the Parkersburg twenty eight yard line.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Big Reds come to the line. Three receivers to the
- 34:32Speaker 4: short side, that's the left. One man split to the air,
- 34:35Speaker 4: and he's got Shelton in the backfield. Kinkaid shotgun formation
- 34:38Speaker 4: calls for the ball, dropping back looking looking, Scunna Scramble
- 34:42Speaker 4: moves ahead.
- 34:42Speaker 3: He's up over the thirty.
- 34:43Speaker 4: He's got a first out of the forty and out
- 34:45Speaker 4: of bounds at about the forty five forty six yard line,
- 34:50Speaker 4: goes Cooper kan k great vision that time. He saw
- 34:53Speaker 4: he had green grass, and he took the shot and
- 34:57Speaker 4: it danced right through that defense. We talked about the
- 35:00Speaker 4: the fact that that secondary the Hurrican defensive coaches have
- 35:03Speaker 4: been trying their best to train their eyes in the
- 35:05Speaker 4: right place in that time. They just weren't watching Kankaid.
- 35:08Speaker 6: And he knew it look to be about a seventeen
- 35:11Speaker 6: yard pickup six foot five, one to ninety eight. But
- 35:14Speaker 6: he can really move for that.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Frame, he sure can.
- 35:16Speaker 4: He pushed it ahead first and ten, Big Reds at
- 35:18Speaker 4: their own forty six yard line with thirteen ticks left.
- 35:20Speaker 4: On a first quarterclock snap back, Kankaid, looking again, throws
- 35:23Speaker 4: across the metal, tipped at the line of scrimmage and
- 35:26Speaker 4: knocked down. I believe the big paul that got up
- 35:29Speaker 4: there on it for a Hurricane was Ethan Chill, and
- 35:33Speaker 4: Chill knocked that thing down and blew up the play.
- 35:36Speaker 4: It'll be second and ten with nine seconds to go
- 35:38Speaker 4: in the first period.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Parkersburg not exactly in a hurry in between plays, really
- 35:43Speaker 6: taking a huddle every single play. Not a fast tempo offense,
- 35:46Speaker 6: but that's how they do things.
- 35:48Speaker 4: They trail fourteen to seven. This will likely be the
- 35:51Speaker 4: final play of the first quarter. Three receivers to the
- 35:55Speaker 4: ride for Kancaid. He's got Shelton in the backfield with him,
- 35:58Speaker 4: fakes the handoff, throws it to the near sideline on
- 35:59Speaker 4: the screen it is complete, and he moves away, goes
- 36:03Speaker 4: around the defender across the Hurricane territory as Brady Thorn.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Thorn the freshman did a great job that time, came
- 36:10Speaker 4: back on the bubble screen, hauled it in and waited
- 36:13Speaker 4: for his block, and then ran around a couple of
- 36:15Speaker 4: defenders to push it ahead into Hurricane territory all the
- 36:19Speaker 4: way down to the Redskins forty three yard line. As
- 36:22Speaker 4: the quarter comes to an end, Hurricanes got a lead
- 36:25Speaker 4: of fourteen to seven, but Parkersburg's driving. You're listening to

- 37:33Speaker 4: Ready to stuff the second quarter here at Stadium Field,
- 37:36Speaker 4: Parkersburg has it first in ten ball at the Hurricane
- 37:39Speaker 4: forty three yard line, Big Reds trail fourteen to seven
- 37:42Speaker 4: pistol formation. They faked the handoff, No, they give it
- 37:45Speaker 4: to Shelton. Shelton trying to break to the left side,
- 37:47Speaker 4: Hurricanes got him in they corral him. Nice job defensively
- 37:50Speaker 4: by Hurricane to string that one all the way to
- 37:52Speaker 4: the near sideline. And great job by Stephen Lusher who
- 37:56Speaker 4: came all the way down the line and stuck right
- 37:58Speaker 4: with him and brought him down for he actually lost
- 38:02Speaker 4: the yard on the play all the way back to
- 38:04Speaker 4: the forty five yard line. Lusher showing pretty good wheels
- 38:07Speaker 4: for alignment there.
- 38:08Speaker 6: Yeah. Stephen Lusher, Ethan Show and Joey Keano have been
- 38:10Speaker 6: really the anchors up front and in the linebacker corps
- 38:13Speaker 6: for Hurk and Darien Davis as the noseguard making plays
- 38:17Speaker 6: every now and then, but Lusher, Chill and Keano are
- 38:19Speaker 6: really what moves this defense.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Yeah, the defense is definitely trying to change its game
- 38:27Speaker 4: for sure. Second down and twelve two yard loss on
- 38:30Speaker 4: that play for the Big Reds. As we're just underway
- 38:32Speaker 4: in the second period, Parker's burgged some confusion and I
- 38:35Speaker 4: think Matt Comes wants to have a conversation about it.

- 39:19Speaker 4: We got eleven forty eight to go in the first half,
- 39:21Speaker 4: Hurricanes got a fourteen to seven league. Parkersburg facing second
- 39:25Speaker 4: down and twelve at the Hurricane forty five yard line,
- 39:29Speaker 4: just had a great play defensively by the Redskins to
- 39:31Speaker 4: throw stand out running back Jakel Shelton for a two
- 39:35Speaker 4: yard loss. They did a really good job of forcing
- 39:38Speaker 4: him to run east and west and not north and south.
- 39:40Speaker 4: And when he did that, it's strung to play all
- 39:42Speaker 4: the way to the near sideline, which is exactly what
- 39:44Speaker 4: you want to do as a defense.
- 39:45Speaker 6: Yeah, and I don't think that is Shelton's game is
- 39:47Speaker 6: running east to west. I think going downhill is his
- 39:50Speaker 6: type of game.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Big Rev's got too many of the backfield. That's Shelton
- 39:54Speaker 4: on one side and Ethan Jones on the other. Now
- 39:56Speaker 4: they split Jones out of the right in motion drop
- 39:59Speaker 4: back pass is right into the slot and they got
- 40:01Speaker 4: the man there.
- 40:02Speaker 3: It is complete. He's coming back to the near sideline trying.
- 40:04Speaker 4: To elude tacklers, but he cannot get away from Hurricane
- 40:09Speaker 4: Zach Turner. That was Brady Thorn hauling it in. He
- 40:12Speaker 4: did a really good job of going five yards and
- 40:16Speaker 4: turning around and looking back and Cooper ken Kad threaded
- 40:20Speaker 4: a needle hit him with it. Thorn came to the
- 40:23Speaker 4: near side line and got a little yardageh on the
- 40:26Speaker 4: run after the catch, taking it all the way down
- 40:28Speaker 4: to the thirty six yard line. A much more manageable
- 40:30Speaker 4: third and three now for Parkersburg.
- 40:32Speaker 6: Let's see how the Hurricane defensive front can get pressure
- 40:35Speaker 6: in here. A big third down for the Redskins and
- 40:37Speaker 6: the Big Reds.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Big Reds come to the line facing third and three.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Two men in the backfield this time. They send Shelton
- 40:44Speaker 4: breaking out to the left handed off to Jethan Jones.
- 40:47Speaker 4: Jones squirts through the line, fights his way forward, and
- 40:50Speaker 4: he's got a first down inside the Hurricane thirty yard line.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Down to about the twenty seven check me twenty eight
- 41:00Speaker 4: eight yard line will be the line of scrimmage for
- 41:01Speaker 4: the Big Reds first and ten. As they've methodically moved
- 41:05Speaker 4: this football down the field and chewed up that clock,
- 41:08Speaker 4: keep in mind every minute there, every second that they're
- 41:11Speaker 4: on the field is the second that Noavella Tombee is
- 41:13Speaker 4: not running the offense.
- 41:14Speaker 6: Methodically is exactly right. Twelve play drive already, they're taking
- 41:18Speaker 6: their time in between plays. Ethan Jones looking like a
- 41:21Speaker 6: good number two back to compliment Jackel Shelton.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Parkersburg had a kickoff return for a touchdown. Now trying
- 41:28Speaker 4: to re tie the game back up the snap handoff
- 41:32Speaker 4: Shelton right up the middle, he goes Dragon tacklers with
- 41:34Speaker 4: him inside the twenty five yard line. Goes Jakel Shelton,
- 41:38Speaker 4: banging his way through that Hurricane defense down to the
- 41:42Speaker 4: Hurricane twenty three yard line. Five yard pickups, second down
- 41:46Speaker 4: and five for the Big Reds nine two on a
- 41:51Speaker 4: winding second quarter clock.
- 41:54Speaker 6: We have seen the Hurricane defense be gassed at times,
- 41:56Speaker 6: but they have plenty of time to catch their breast
- 41:58Speaker 6: and make the play and get their eyes in the
- 42:00Speaker 6: right spot.
- 42:00Speaker 4: I don't believe that's the issue right now. They seem
- 42:02Speaker 4: to have their ears pinned back. They just got to
- 42:04Speaker 4: get the right guy snap handoff the reverse.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Here they go.
- 42:08Speaker 4: They throw it back to the quarterback. Cank throws it
- 42:10Speaker 4: back a razzle dazzle play and it worked. He's at
- 42:13Speaker 4: the twenty and brought down at the sixteen yard line
- 42:16Speaker 4: and flags come flying in. At the end of the play.
- 42:19Speaker 4: Hauling that one in was Isaac day Man. Let me
- 42:22Speaker 4: see if I can recap how that went. They handed
- 42:25Speaker 4: it off to Shelton. Shelton went to the right, pitched
- 42:28Speaker 4: it to Daily on the reverse. As Daily was coming
- 42:31Speaker 4: behind the line of scrimmage, he pitched it back to
- 42:34Speaker 4: Cancaid can Kid looked down field, found nothing and threw
- 42:37Speaker 4: it back over to Daily on a forward pass. Daily
- 42:40Speaker 4: takes it all the way down to the sixteen yard
- 42:43Speaker 4: line and as he's getting tackle, Hurricane gets calling for
- 42:46Speaker 4: a horse collar tackle. So he had first down yardage
- 42:49Speaker 4: and that will take him down inside the five yard line.
- 42:52Speaker 6: And a great read there by Kankaid. The number one
- 42:54Speaker 6: option after the double pitch was to go downfield in
- 42:57Speaker 6: the middle of the middle of the field, back of
- 42:59Speaker 6: the end zone wasn't open. It was close to open,
- 43:01Speaker 6: but it would have been forcing it and instead he
- 43:03Speaker 6: drops it off. What a decision.
- 43:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a complete sandlot play right there. Now
- 43:08Speaker 4: I misspoke. It was half the distance to the goals.
- 43:11Speaker 4: So they're going to spot the ball at the Hurricane
- 43:13Speaker 4: eight yard line. Nine h sixty go Big Reds knocking
- 43:16Speaker 4: on the door trying to tie this game up. Kncaid
- 43:19Speaker 4: was Shelton to his right in the backfield, brands of
- 43:21Speaker 4: man in motion left to right, calls for the football. Now,
- 43:23Speaker 4: flags fly, and I think somebody on that Parkersburg line
- 43:28Speaker 4: might have moved.
- 43:29Speaker 3: In fact, that is what happened.
- 43:30Speaker 4: So Big Reds had a lot of momentum after that
- 43:34Speaker 4: last play, and they get somebody a little too eager
- 43:37Speaker 4: jump off sides. That'll give him five yards backward. So
- 43:40Speaker 4: it's going to be first in goal now from their
- 43:43Speaker 4: own thirteen yard line. Kankaid trips to the left this
- 43:47Speaker 4: time and he's got Shelton to his right, brings a
- 43:50Speaker 4: man in motion left to right again seems like the
- 43:52Speaker 4: same play the snap looking he's hitting up backfield and
- 43:56Speaker 4: dropped immediately and who else Key comes back there and
- 44:01Speaker 4: absolutely crushed him just as he was looking for a receiver.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Ken Kate is gonna feel that one into next week.
- 44:11Speaker 6: Joey Keano, man, he is playing like he's got something
- 44:13Speaker 6: to prove. He's been great in the first two games
- 44:15Speaker 6: for hur But a whole other beast is Keano here
- 44:19Speaker 6: in Parkersburg.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he took it personal when people were
- 44:21Speaker 4: a little critical of the defense man Keano has come
- 44:25Speaker 4: to play. He came blitzing through there and nobody picked
- 44:28Speaker 4: him up. And I guarantee you Kan Kate looked at
- 44:30Speaker 4: his lineman and said, somebody find thirty three and put
- 44:33Speaker 4: a hat on him. Big loss of that time back
- 44:36Speaker 4: to the twenty yard line seconding goal. Actually the nineteen
- 44:40Speaker 4: snap back, they throw it out of the backfield to Shelton.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Sheldon's gonna be dragged down from behind in the backfield.
- 44:45Speaker 4: He's gonna lose more yards defensively, and a flag comes
- 44:49Speaker 4: in at the end coming up with the stop. Steven Lusher,
- 44:51Speaker 4: who tracked down Jakel Shelton from behind and dragged him down.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Let's see what the flag is.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Did they get him on the horse cart.
- 44:58Speaker 4: They might have. Yes, it is gonna be a personal
- 45:03Speaker 4: kaf oul a horse collar against Lusher on the tackle.
- 45:06Speaker 4: I'm not gonna fuss too much about that one, though,
- 45:08Speaker 4: because that was just a hustle and play. He grabbed
- 45:11Speaker 4: what he could and that's a big lineman dragging down
- 45:13Speaker 4: a speedy backsher movie. And let me tell you, when
- 45:18Speaker 4: it comes to that, I'm always coming down on the
- 45:19Speaker 4: lineman's defense. If it's between a lineman and the back,
- 45:23Speaker 4: I'm defending the lineman every time.
- 45:24Speaker 6: You got to give Usher credit. He's been moving around
- 45:26Speaker 6: the field really well for his frame six foot two
- 45:29Speaker 6: hundred ten pounds.
- 45:31Speaker 4: So that's gonna move the ball down to the eleven
- 45:35Speaker 4: eleven yard line, second and goal, rolling to the right,
- 45:38Speaker 4: knk throws it into the end zone. Man is there,
- 45:40Speaker 4: but can't kiddy Holiday And yes he did. What a
- 45:43Speaker 4: catch that time? Ball went up into the air and
- 45:48Speaker 4: it tipped and coming down with it for the Big
- 45:52Speaker 4: Reds was Isaac Daily. Daily hadn't hit his hands and fell,
- 45:57Speaker 4: but the ball stayed airborne and he caught it lying
- 46:00Speaker 4: on his back. In the end zone and with that pass,
- 46:03Speaker 4: the Big Reds draw within one. We got ourselves a
- 46:06Speaker 4: game here in Parkersburg.
- 46:07Speaker 6: Great concentration there by the receiver unbelievable, just like Shirley
- 46:11Speaker 6: Campton on the babble and just taking it all the
- 46:14Speaker 6: way down to the turf.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Yeah, we've seen two fantastic catches. Here's Right's kick and
- 46:19Speaker 4: it is good. We got a tie ball game with
- 46:21Speaker 4: seven thirty eight to go in the second period. You're
- 46:24Speaker 4: listening to high school football on the voice at Charleston

- 47:01Speaker 6: A seventeen play drive for the Parkersburg Big Reds is
- 47:05Speaker 6: capped off by an eleven yards amazing touchdown catch off
- 47:07Speaker 6: the babble by Isaac Daily, fourteen fourteen is your score?
- 47:11Speaker 6: Seven thirty eight to go in the second quarter.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that was quite a catch by Daily, just off
- 47:16Speaker 4: the top of his fingers and then he fell on
- 47:18Speaker 4: his back and it came right down into his bread basket.
- 47:21Speaker 4: So Parkersburg's got two touchdowns. That's their first offensive touchdown.
- 47:25Speaker 4: The other one was a return of the kickoff for
- 47:29Speaker 4: a touchdown. Hurricane had the catch by Hampton that was
- 47:34Speaker 4: a circus catch as well for the touchdown, and there
- 47:36Speaker 4: other one is a pick six. So we've seen it
- 47:39Speaker 4: all here tonight in Parkersburg. We got a tie ballgame
- 47:43Speaker 4: was seven thirty eight to go, went and right lines
- 47:45Speaker 4: it up and deep to receive down. There are Burnette
- 47:50Speaker 4: and also Tyshawn Dus. Kick is gonna be kicked up
- 47:53Speaker 4: and it's gonna be taken by an up man and
- 47:56Speaker 4: he actually advanced it a little bit.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Get a number on that.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Well. Of course it was Keano, who else. I shouldn't
- 48:02Speaker 4: have even looked Keano. They kicked it trying to keep
- 48:05Speaker 4: it away from dues, and they kicked it straight ahead.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Keano caught it right on the front line like a bullet,
- 48:12Speaker 4: and he said, you know what, I'm coming at you.
- 48:14Speaker 4: And he took it all the way into Big Reds
- 48:15Speaker 4: territory and Hurricanes got great field position at Parkersburg's forty
- 48:19Speaker 4: one to start this drive.
- 48:21Speaker 6: And he caught the ball not too far from Parkersburg territory.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Like you said, the ball was kind of like a bullet,
- 48:26Speaker 6: and he was ready for it.
- 48:27Speaker 4: I mean he was like ten yards away. And they
- 48:29Speaker 4: kicked that thing like a rocket at him and he
- 48:31Speaker 4: caught it right off his chest and said, come get me.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Snap back to Bella Tomby hands it off. No, Bella
- 48:39Speaker 4: Tomby keeps it himself, fights out of a tackle somehow
- 48:41Speaker 4: in the backfield, and moves it ahead for positive yards.
- 48:45Speaker 4: Parkersburg had him wrapped up. He pulled the ball back
- 48:48Speaker 4: out of the belly of aj Gregory kept it himself.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Big Reds were not fooled.
- 48:53Speaker 4: They had him tied up in the backfield and Bella
- 48:55Speaker 4: Tomby pulling a Houdini act and turning what would have
- 48:58Speaker 4: been about.
- 48:58Speaker 3: A four yard loss into a four yard game.
- 49:01Speaker 6: And Jackson Lowe, the number sixty six, the defensive lineman
- 49:04Speaker 6: for the Big Reds, coming up a little lamb. I
- 49:06Speaker 6: do believe he was on doll with Tomby, and it
- 49:08Speaker 6: looked like they blew the play up and we're getting
- 49:11Speaker 6: ready to tackle him, but didn't realize he had the ball.
- 49:13Speaker 4: Bellow Tomby shot gun hands it off, this time to
- 49:15Speaker 4: Gregory Gregory bouncing into the left. He's got first down
- 49:18Speaker 4: yarded Jim Moore inside the thirty and down to the
- 49:20Speaker 4: twenty five yard line. Goes a j Gregory, his first
- 49:23Speaker 4: carries of the night, and moves it ahead for a
- 49:28Speaker 4: hurricane first down six forty seven ago. The clock wines.
- 49:32Speaker 4: Unlike Parkersburg, the Redskins are wasting no time. Here's vale Tomb.
- 49:36Speaker 4: He snapped back, fakes the handoff, throws it into the flat.
- 49:38Speaker 4: It is complete to Burnett bur Jolly. Burnett, still on
- 49:41Speaker 4: his feet, twists and turns and it takes about six people.
- 49:44Speaker 3: To get him down.
- 49:45Speaker 4: He does end up gaining about four yards. Burnett was open,
- 49:50Speaker 4: he got hit, made the man miss, but he went
- 49:52Speaker 4: down and stayed on his feet and kept twisting, and
- 49:55Speaker 4: they finally wrote him down after a four yard pickup
- 49:58Speaker 4: second and six for Hurricane Bello tom He hands it
- 50:00Speaker 4: to Gregory Gregory left side. He's got running room, trying
- 50:04Speaker 4: to fight his way ahead to that first down marker.
- 50:06Speaker 4: He's gonna be just shy of the first down A
- 50:10Speaker 4: j Gregory with the carry Herri can play in like
- 50:14Speaker 4: they've only got like a two minute drill going here,
- 50:16Speaker 4: but really there's six minutes left in the first half.
- 50:19Speaker 6: The entire offense is a two minute drill.
- 50:21Speaker 4: It appears it is snap back the hand it to
- 50:23Speaker 4: Gregory Gregorley left side. He's got that first down and
- 50:26Speaker 4: goes down inside the fifteen yard line to the Parkersburg fourteen,
- 50:30Speaker 4: goes out of bounds. That's gonna stop the clock.
- 50:32Speaker 6: And we saw Grace and Gregory as a great one
- 50:34Speaker 6: to two punch against Huntington, Gregory not getting much action
- 50:37Speaker 6: against Spring Valley with three touchdowns on the ground by
- 50:39Speaker 6: Grace last week. But now we're seeing Gregory again.
- 50:42Speaker 4: All right, Velatmby in there and Gregory's in the backfield
- 50:45Speaker 4: with him to his right, shotgun information. He splits Gregory
- 50:48Speaker 4: out to the right, Velatmby takes it, keeps him himself
- 50:50Speaker 4: designed quarterback keeper. He's down to the ten. He's gonna
- 50:53Speaker 4: be hit right at the ten yard line and brought
- 50:55Speaker 4: down after about a four yard game. Noah, Valet Tomby.
- 50:58Speaker 4: You think when he's back there himself, he's gonna throw it.
- 51:01Speaker 4: Not necessarily the case, Vellet Tomby the athlete, and he
- 51:04Speaker 4: will keep it in run picks up four second down
- 51:06Speaker 4: and six for a Hurricane. As they're back at the
- 51:08Speaker 4: line ready to go again.
- 51:10Speaker 6: Vela Tommy has not been able to touch the ball
- 51:12Speaker 6: much this first half, so he is not winded.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Gregory to his right, out of the shotgun, keeps it himself.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Vela Tomby pushes ahead. Nice block as they push down
- 51:22Speaker 4: inside the ten yard line. What a fantastic block by
- 51:26Speaker 4: his line that time. Absolutely lit up the linebacker and
- 51:30Speaker 4: sprung Vela Tomby ahead for about four more yards.
- 51:33Speaker 6: That's Drake Lannham, the Marshall commit, getting so much push
- 51:36Speaker 6: on one little motion right there, not a little motion,
- 51:39Speaker 6: a big extension and giving Vela Tommy room to work.
- 51:42Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't think the defender appreciated the hit, but
- 51:44Speaker 4: you know what, it was clean and that's how you
- 51:46Speaker 4: block somebody, and he sure did it. Nice job, Drake Lanham.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Third down and two now, Velletomby takes it down to
- 51:54Speaker 4: about the seven yard line. Snap back, they give it
- 51:56Speaker 4: to Gregory. Gregory gonna be hit, drives it inside the
- 51:59Speaker 4: five yard line, and again that Hurricane line is absolutely tearing.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Parkersburg's front line apart.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Gregory pushes it down inside the five, but I don't
- 52:08Speaker 4: think they they haven't signaled first down yet.
- 52:11Speaker 3: He's very close. It'll depend on the spot balls.
- 52:14Speaker 4: At about the four, they're gonna say he's just inches size,
- 52:18Speaker 4: So it's gonna be fourth down and really less than
- 52:21Speaker 4: a yard. Hurricane comes to the line, fourth down and inches.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Vella Tomby's gonna go up under center, and he's got
- 52:30Speaker 4: two men behind him and they jump off sides.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 52:34Speaker 4: It looked like Rhet McGrew was moving up there to
- 52:37Speaker 4: get behind the guard and he actually put his hands
- 52:39Speaker 4: on the guard, and I think the guard thought that
- 52:41Speaker 4: was the signal to.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Go, so on off sides.
- 52:43Speaker 4: By their false start by the Redskins, and now it's
- 52:47Speaker 4: gonna be fourth down and five rather than fourth down
- 52:50Speaker 4: and inches.
- 52:51Speaker 6: And they were ready to push at Vela Tomby into
- 52:53Speaker 6: the end zone. They were only about a yard out
- 52:55Speaker 6: from the end zone.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Actually their yard from the first down, their five yards
- 52:59Speaker 4: from the touchdown. So now Donnie Mays is going to
- 53:03Speaker 4: have a decision and make He's going to take a
- 53:04Speaker 4: time out four to fourteen to go in the first half,
- 53:06Speaker 4: tie ballgame, Hurricane knocking on the door with fourth down.
- 53:09Speaker 4: This is high school football on the Voice of Charleston
- 53:12Speaker 4: five to eighty WCHS.

- 53:48Speaker 4: Fourth down and five for Hurricane. A penalty pushed the
- 53:53Speaker 4: ball back to about the nine yard line. Donnie Mays
- 53:57Speaker 4: talks it over with his team and has the play
- 54:00Speaker 4: in that he wants Noah vlat Tombe brings his team
- 54:02Speaker 4: back out and this time he's gonna line McGrew up
- 54:06Speaker 4: over on the left side in the slot right behind
- 54:10Speaker 4: the guard. Vella Tomby has got aj Gregory to his right,
- 54:13Speaker 4: shotgun formation, twin receivers to the left. Vella Tomby now
- 54:17Speaker 4: and they're gonna take another timeout. Sure enough, Hurricane's gonna
- 54:22Speaker 4: burn yet another timeout. Maybe they were just wanting to
- 54:25Speaker 4: see what formation Parkersburg would come out in before they
- 54:29Speaker 4: made their decision. Maybe that was planned on a lum
- 54:32Speaker 4: But nevertheless, Donny Mays calls back to back timeouts, and
- 54:35Speaker 4: you might as well. You know you're not gonna take
- 54:38Speaker 4: him into the second half, you might as well use him.
- 54:39Speaker 4: And that makes sense because this is a very important
- 54:43Speaker 4: drive for Hurricane. They need to come away with a
- 54:45Speaker 4: touchdown on this tie ball game. You're gonna get the
- 54:49Speaker 4: ball first in the second half, and Parkersburg has found
- 54:54Speaker 4: a way to stay in this game despite pretty good
- 54:56Speaker 4: play by Hurricanes defense.
- 54:58Speaker 6: Right and Hurricane looks on on the field, they look
- 55:01Speaker 6: like the better team, but the scoreboard doesn't show that.
- 55:03Speaker 6: Already one failed fourth down conversion on the other end
- 55:05Speaker 6: of the field, Bella Tomby throwing it in the back
- 55:07Speaker 6: of the end zone and missing everybody by about five
- 55:10Speaker 6: ten yards.
- 55:11Speaker 4: So you need one right here on fourth down yeah,
- 55:13Speaker 4: and they have a pick six for a touchdown, whereas
- 55:16Speaker 4: Parkersburg has a kickoff return for a touchdown and a
- 55:21Speaker 4: toe ball game. At fourteen apiece, here come the Redskins.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Bella Tomby. He's got aj Gregory to his left, shotgun formation,
- 55:30Speaker 4: calls for the ball, snaps, rolls to the left. Bella
- 55:32Speaker 4: Tomby keeps it, turns, it goes, pushes ahead. He's very close.
- 55:36Speaker 4: It'll depend on the spot if he got the first down.
- 55:39Speaker 4: Bella Tomby drives forward. No signal yet. As they spot
- 55:45Speaker 4: the ball, they may there's the did he signal?
- 55:49Speaker 6: Or they gonna looks like they might measure.
- 55:53Speaker 4: They may have to measure. Parkersburg has got a guy
- 55:55Speaker 4: down right there where they're trying to spot the ball,
- 55:57Speaker 4: so they're having to deal with that.
- 55:59Speaker 6: On the sideline there, there's a number one marker on
- 56:01Speaker 6: the down marker. They might have given it to him.
- 56:03Speaker 6: It looks like they're having a conversation.
- 56:05Speaker 4: They did. They have given him the first down, So
- 56:07Speaker 4: that was the issue. They were trying to spot the ball,
- 56:10Speaker 4: and once they spotted it, they decided that yes, he
- 56:13Speaker 4: had the first down. But the issue is there was
- 56:16Speaker 4: a Parkersburg player who is down literally right about where
- 56:20Speaker 4: they were trying to spot the ball, So I think
- 56:22Speaker 4: they were trying to sort that out, and it took
- 56:24Speaker 4: him a while to see exactly where the marker was
- 56:27Speaker 4: and where the ball was down because of the injury.
- 56:30Speaker 6: This injury doesn't appear to be a good one, and
- 56:32Speaker 6: can't see the number from here, but a lot of
- 56:34Speaker 6: people attending.
- 56:35Speaker 4: To Yeah, they actually have brought out a golf cart
- 56:38Speaker 4: and there are several people from both Hurricane and Parkersburg's
- 56:45Speaker 4: training staff out surrounding the young man as he lies
- 56:47Speaker 4: on his back right at about the five yard line
- 56:51Speaker 4: of Parkersburg, And that golf cart came out quickly, and
- 57:00Speaker 4: you could tell that he was hurt because he was
- 57:02Speaker 4: rolling around as they were trying to spot the football.
- 57:05Speaker 4: But I don't think because there was so much attention
- 57:08Speaker 4: and to the importance of that spot, I don't think
- 57:10Speaker 4: too many people spotted that he was hurt, and it
- 57:13Speaker 4: was only a few seconds later that they noticed him.
- 57:17Speaker 3: All right, good news, he's up on his feet.
- 57:19Speaker 6: That's Javelle Chander, number eighty wide receiver, defensive back. Well
- 57:22Speaker 6: it's bad at first, but he's running out.
- 57:24Speaker 4: He's trotting off the field. So he's in good shape.
- 57:26Speaker 4: That's great news for Parkersburg. And the guy in the
- 57:31Speaker 4: golf cart is now heading off. I have no idea
- 57:33Speaker 4: what they brought that golf cart out.
- 57:34Speaker 6: That was a quick trigger.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe they didn't want to walk out there to
- 57:38Speaker 4: check it out, and they were just right there. I
- 57:40Speaker 4: was within the first thirty five I mean yeah, it
- 57:42Speaker 4: was less than that. Ten seconds. The golf cart was
- 57:43Speaker 4: there before the rest of the training staff. I'm not
- 57:45Speaker 4: sure what that was all about. Nevertheless, we're back to
- 57:48Speaker 4: football and Noebella Tomby is working with four minutes and
- 57:51Speaker 4: seven seconds and a first in goal from the Parkersburg
- 57:54Speaker 4: four yard line. Tie ball game. Big play right here
- 57:57Speaker 4: for the Redskins. They're going to keep a Jay Gregory
- 58:00Speaker 4: in the backfield. Vella Tomby sets his team down. He
- 58:03Speaker 4: puts twin receivers over to the left and he's got
- 58:07Speaker 4: McGrew and that slot to the left side brings a
- 58:09Speaker 4: man in motion left to right. That's Bredett left side.
- 58:12Speaker 4: There goes Vella Tomby inside the five, pushes it ahead,
- 58:15Speaker 4: drives into the end zone. Did he get in?
- 58:17Speaker 3: I think they're gonna say.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Yes, touchdown, Hurricane It took a while for them to
- 58:24Speaker 4: make the call because he went right at the pilon.
- 58:27Speaker 4: The official had to check. But yes, they call it
- 58:29Speaker 4: a touchdown for the Redskins and that extends the score
- 58:33Speaker 4: to twenty to fourteen for Hurricane with three forty five
- 58:36Speaker 4: to go here in the second period.
- 58:38Speaker 6: Bella Tommy would not be denied right there, really did
- 58:40Speaker 6: a good job of lowering his shoulder once he knew
- 58:42Speaker 6: he was gonna come near the pieline. What to play
- 58:45Speaker 6: by noe Ville.
- 58:46Speaker 3: It was very close.
- 58:47Speaker 4: He did get the ball inside the pilon, though, and touchdown.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Hurricane now on to attempt the extra point seth Casto
- 58:54Speaker 4: kick is in the air. Kick is good, three forty
- 58:58Speaker 4: five to go in the first half, Hurricane regains Aames
- 59:00Speaker 4: Sloe twenty one to fourteen. You're listening to high school

- 59:40Speaker 6: Three forty five up ago in the first half twenty
- 59:43Speaker 6: one to fourteen. As your score, Hurricane takes the lead
- 59:46Speaker 6: one at ten point forty one yard drive capped off
- 59:48Speaker 6: by Noah Vila Tommy a quarterback draw, four yard touchdown.
- 59:52Speaker 6: You had three on the ground last week and there's
- 59:54Speaker 6: his first one against the big Reds.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Yeah. Good job by La Tomby taking it straight to
- 59:58Speaker 4: that pylon and keep it in there. It took him
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: a while to make the call, but they finally got
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: it and said he was in all right. Here's Casto
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: lining up to kick it away. Let's see if they'll
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: go back to Brady Thorn again, who had to touchdown
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: a moment ago. They kick it in the air and
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: it's gonna come down instead to Shayhan, who has trouble
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: with it at the five, picks it up at the seven.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: He's at the ten, he's hit and Hurricane's gonna cover
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: him and bottle him up inside the ten yard line.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: Shaehn had difficulty handling that one, could not haul it in,
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: and when he hesitated to pick it up, here came the
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Redskins on coverage and they did a great job of
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: knocking him down right at the ten yard line. So
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: ninety yards and three thirty eight to go for the
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Big Reds and that's a long way to go for
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: the way that they had been playing offense. They do
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: not pick it up in chunks.
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: No they don't. And special teams coming in to play
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: again big here in the first half, this time going
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: against the Big Red favor complete opposite from the touchdown return,
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: and like you said, a methodical offense, and this is
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: going to be hard. With three thirty eight to.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Go, twenty one to fourteen, Cooper Kankad brings his team
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: to the line. He's got both of his backs with
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: him in the backfield and he sends Jones split out
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: to the right hand off Shelton finds a hole, moves ahead,
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: takes it over the fifteen yard line. Jakel Shelton with
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: the carry, so he's going to pick up about six
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: yards ahead to the sixteen and it's going to be
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: second down him four for Parkersburg. They trailed twenty one
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: to fourteen. Trying to tie it up before they go
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: into the locker room at the half. Hurricanes defense trying
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: to rise up here and get a big stop.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: Shelton twenty two carries last week, two weeks ago against Morgantown.
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: He might double that workload today.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: He's going out of the pistol and he's got two
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: men behind him in the backfield, and he sends Jones
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: out to the right hand, off to Shelton. Shelton right
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: side this time, finds his way through the lines, got
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: some running room, pushes it ahead to the twenty five.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: That's a first down run for Jakel Shelton, five, eight
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: hundred and ninety pounds senior. Your Shelton, leading rusher on
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: this team. Came into the game with thirty five carries
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: and one hundred and fifteen yards. It seems like he's
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: carried it thirty five times tonight. Flag on the play
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: they're gonna say a personal foul a blow to the
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: head against Hurricane, So that's gonna attack fifteen more on
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: to the end of the run.
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: Didn't see who the hit came from. But Tyshawn Dues
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: number zero is responding as if it was him. He's
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: not happy with the call. It must have been him
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: on the hit.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: I didn't notice it, but I guess, yeah, it must
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: have been a blow to the head because that's what
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: they called.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: I did not actually see it happen.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: I saw the tackle, but it didn't look like anything
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: that was overtly bad.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: He's still not happy, kind of throwing his hands up,
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: all right.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: So it's a first intent for Parkersburg. They got the ball.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Throwing forty yard line movie methodically through thirty eight on
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: a winding second quarter clock. Kancaid brings his receiver in
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: just a bit, takes the snapshot, guns drops back, throws
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: out of the backfield. He had Shelton White open. Did
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: he catch that? Are they gonna say it was a catch?
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: They are Shelton grabbed it of the air, pulled it
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: in for about a eight yard pickup. But I tell
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: you what, Hurricane's lucky. Shelton was left uncovered, and had
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: that ball been thrown a little higher, he would have
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: been in the end zone right now.
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: Shelton was uncovered, he could have house call there right there,
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: but Cank not a good throw. Shelton really doing a
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: good job to even salvage to play for any positive
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: yard it.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: First, second down and two now for the Big Reds.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Three receivers to the right. Kancaid takes the handoff, keeps
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: it himself, gonna run it up through the middle, and
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: that was a poor decision as he goes down immediately
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: after about a yard gain to midfield Cooper. Kancaid put
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: it into the belly of Chakel. Shelton pulled it back out.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: Probably wished he hadn't made that decision.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: Clock running now here under one fifty and they're still
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: going to huddle up at the fifty yard line. Let's
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: see what the play is here.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: I don't think I don't think Parkersburg's got a hurry
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: up offense.
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: I don't think it's in there arsenalism.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: I don't think so. First and they do give him
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: a first down. He gets it up to the fifty
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: yard line. First and ten for Parkersburg. Ball right on
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: the fifty yard line, Big Reds come to the line.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: Hurricane digs in with three down linemen in the front.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: Kan k backs up. Pressure comes looking looking he's gotta
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: be heading and dropped in the backfield. Ball gets loose,
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: but they're gonna say that he was down. Great job
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: defensively getting back there and bringing him down. Who was
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: that crazy man back there? That was Lanham? Indeed got
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: back there to him and just took him apart in
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: the backfield, Drake Lanham.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: Great job, Landam showing his versatility. Clearly an offensive lineman primary,
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: but most of the time here in high school you're
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: going to have to play.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: Besides, there is a flag in the backfield, and it
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: looks like they're gonna say, what was that?
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: Intentional grounding?
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Intentional grounding? So I thought that he had fumbled it,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: but instead he must have thrown it.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: Can't Kate not happy about that. He's not his case.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: He was gonna get sacked. And I thought he had
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: fumbled it. Hurricane thought he had fumbled it, but instead
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: he must have tried to clock it in the grasp.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: And they said that was intentional grounding because if he
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: threw it, he threw it three yards in front of him,
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: So they're gonna mark him back. He lost about three
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: they're gonna mark him back two more. So the ball
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: is at the forty five yard line, third down and
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: fifteen now for Parkersburg, minute twenty one to go. Here
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: in the second period, Kane Cave's got two men in
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: the backfield with him, hands it to Shelton shouting, hitting
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: the backfield and dropped and Hurricanes got his number that time,
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: jumping into the backfield and bringing him down again. Looks
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: like Drake Lanham yet again. Lanam absolutely terrorizing that backfield
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: of the Parkersburg Big Reds. He's gonna lose about three
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: all the way back to the forty three. And that
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: Hurricane defense is definitely playing a lot better tonight than
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: we saw in the first game. Donnie may Is coming
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: out and high five and the whole lot of them.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: He was pretty proud of that performance.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: And there's a ton of athletes on the Hurricane defense.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: And we've said that all season long. But against up
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: tempo teams like the Spring Valley timber Wolves than the
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: Highlanders of Huntington with talent mixed talent and up tempo,
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: Hurricane doesn't respond usually very well to that. But you
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: know an inexperienced offense that has talent but runs and
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: goes into the huddle after every play. I think that's
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: Hurricanes' mo right there is going up against those teams
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: and getting their linebackers and linemen moving around.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Time out on the field. I'm not sure who called it,
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: it would I did not see who they credited it to,
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: but I it would not shock me if Donnie Mays
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: called it just to stop the clock and going to
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: force the punt here because the Big Reds are gonna
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: have to give it back to Hurricane with a minute
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: thirteen to go.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: And the Redskins get the ball out of halftime. As
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: the Big Reds won the coin toss and elected.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: To receive, Zane Lewis back to punt it and deep
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: to receive as ty Sean Dues Lewis waiting on it,
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: kicks it in the air. It's gonna be a short
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: punt and it's gonna hit and roll, take a Parkersburg
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: roll down inside the twenty five. It will roll dead
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: at about the twenty one yard line, and that stops
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: the cl with fifty nine point four seconds to go.
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: So Hurricanes got a twenty one to fourteen lead. They
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: got fifty nine seconds to go seventy nine yards and
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: possibly score, and then they get the ball to start
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: the second half. So the Redskins, their defense really put
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: them in a good position here as they've got another
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: opportunity for Noah Bella Tomby. This is the kind of
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: situation he would thrive on.
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: But see your one minute offense, Hurricane. It might not
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: be much different than their normal offensive package.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Bella Tomby shotgun formation, snap drops back, throws it into
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: the flat. It's complete to Burnett. Jolly. Burnett over over
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: the twenty five to the thirty and runs it out
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: of bounds to stop the clock.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Over on the far side line. After picking up.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: A first down, they're gonna say, step out of bounds
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: right out the thirty two yard line. Quick offense here
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: for the Redskins. Fifty one seconds to go, fresh set
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: of downs. Hurricane lined up and ready. Parkersburg trying to
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: figure it out. They send a man in motion to
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: the right. That's Grace. Throw it again over to Dues.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: Duze has it, brings it back to the inside and
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: he bends it, bends it deep, trying to get away,
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: and they're gonna tackle him back at the line of scrimmage.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Ty Sean Dues was tracked down and stopped that time
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: by Connor Petty who stuck with him and Dues, who
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: had picked up about seven gave ground and was tackled
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: back at the original line of scrimmage. It's now second
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: down to nine with thirty three seconds to lost a
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: lot of yards in a lot of time.
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: Lost a lot and a lot could have happened on
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: that play. If he would have got past that tackle
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: right there, he might have had about twenty twenty five.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Let's see how Hurrican utilizes the screen pass with their
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: quick threats.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Petty, a great job that time defensively for Parkersburg
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: to really create a mess here for Hurricane.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Snap back to Bellow time.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: But he drives back, looks down field, plenty of time
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: going for it all, throws it down. It's gonna be
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: caught by Shalek Hampton at the twenty. No, they're gonna
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: say he.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: He dropped it. At the last second.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: Shalek Hampton went up and appeared to have it as
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: he came down, landing it on his back and it jarred.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: The ball loose, could not keep the handle. That stops.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: The clock was sixteen point one seconds to go. Man,
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: that would have been a sweet one for the Redskins.
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: Hampton is really good about getting downfield with his big
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: frame and really getting up there and high pointing the ball.
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: And we've seen that through the first two and a
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: half games. Had the ball high pointed it like you
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: liked to do, but didn't come down with it when
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: he hit the turf. And now he's dealing with maybe
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: maybe some cramps right now, I'm not really sure, but
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: he's hit the deck.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Great protection that time for Vella time being. Like you said,
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: when Hampton went back to the line of scrimmage, you
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: went down to one knee and we've got an injury
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: time out to work with him. We'll take a time,
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: we'll take a break with him. Here as is sixteen
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: seconds left in the first half, twenty one to fourteen.

- 1:10:17Speaker 4: So good news for Hurricane. As Hampton is up, he's
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: he's not not in pain, walking slowly off.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: He really took it.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: I think he came down on his hip and he
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: seems to be favoring that left side as he walks
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: off the field under his own power. But when he
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: caught that ball a moment ago, he went horizontal and landed.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: He landed funny on his back and his favoring his
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: left hip sort of that that left cheek of his
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: rear end as he hit the turf, and I can
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: I can imagine how that pain is feeling, because I've
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: done that myself a time or two and it's it's
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: not enjoyable.
- 1:10:54Speaker 6: And he jumped really hot, he did.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: He jumped away higher than I ever have.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: I'll tell you that you focus on coming down with
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: the ball. Unfortunately he couldn't, but nothing to brace himself
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: right there and right a bit of a stinger.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: So he's off under his own power. Hopefully he will
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: be back. So here come the Redskins. Twin receiver, three
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: receivers to the left of Vala Tomy. He keeps it
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: Bella Tomby takes it himself right up the middle, pushes
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: it up over the thirty five, and it looks like
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: Hurricane's going to be content to just let the clock
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: wind down as they go inside of six seconds and
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: Bellle Tomby's not setting him down again. They're just gonna
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: head to the locker room with a twenty one to
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: fourteen lead Redskins. It's been a good first half. We'll
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: recap it for you on the Palmar Stores halftime show

- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Halftime here at Stadium Fields, Lawrence with you as Hurricane
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: as a twenty one to fourteen lead. Let's recap how
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: we got here this evening. It started off in the
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: first quarter that Parkersburg took the opening kickoff and they
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: drove it down into Hurricane territory. But that drive ended
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: when Joey Keano drew a bead and stayed at home.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: Pressure guns pops it over, picked off. Here we go
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: the other way into the open field of the forty
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: to the thirty to the.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: Ten touchdown a Hurricane.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: Joey Keano with a sixty two yard pick six. Now
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: the extra point failed and that made it six nothing.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: Hurricane Parkersburg could not do anything with their next drive.
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: Ball goes over on downs to Hurricane in the first period.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: They came storming back and they took They went twenty
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: seven yards and Shalik Hampton was the one that took
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: the pass from Noahvevilla Tomby to end. It got grace
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: to his right, snap back, bakes the handoff, throws it
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: into the end zone. Manage there and it is did
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: he catch it? Are they gonna call it a catch? Yes,
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: Shalik Hampton hauling it in circus catch by Shalik Hampton,
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: and that built Hurricanes' lead. When the two point conversion
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: was good to fourteen to nothing, Hurrikin looked like they
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: were in business, getting ready to run away with this
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: thing and run Parkersburg off the field not so fast.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: Ensuing kickoff, Brady Thorne said, watch this and he's not
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: gonna be caught. A touchdown for Brady Thorn ninety yard
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: touchdown return on the kickoff. So Hurricane's momentum was squandered
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: there and they led fourteen to seven. As we went
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: into the second period, Parkersburg took the ball again, long
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: sustained drive and they finally ended it with this passed
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: to Isaac Day rolling to the right, knk throws it
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: into the end zone. Man is there but Kinny Holiday?
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: And yes he did. What a catch that time? Ball
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: went up into the air and it tipped and coming
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: down with it for the Big Reds was Isaac Day.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: We have definitely seen some acrobatic catches tonight and some
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: athletic play in this game. Hurricane, however, was not done.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: Noah Vella Tomby put the car in gear and took
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: him all the way down and punched it in himself
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: from four yards outs left side. There goes Vella Tomby
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: inside the five, pushes it ahead, drives into the end zone.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: Did he get in? I think they're gonna say yes,
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: touchdown Hurricane. He took it right at the pielone and
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: it was a question of where he got the ball
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: inside before he was driven out of bounds. He did, indeed,
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: and that built the lead to twenty one to fourteen.
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: And that's where we stand at the half hurricane on
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: top twenty one to fourteen. When we come back, run

- 1:18:28Speaker 4: Got a good one happening up on the hill. Cable
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Midland has a seven nothing lead over George Washington at
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: the half. So, like I said, a good one there
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: in South Hills. Huntington at the second quarter leads at
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: Saint Albans thirty two to nothing.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: At the half.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Parkersburg South humbling Woodrow Wilson a little bit fourteen to three.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: The Flying Eagles off to a good start two and oh,
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: but they're having their hands full with the Patriots. Tonight
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: down at Van Meter Stadium in Beckley. Capitol in Riverside
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: playing at Ladley Field, and it looks like a pretty
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: good one. Capitol's got an eighteen to fourteen lead over

- 1:19:13Speaker 4: Hoover and Nitro nodded at seven apiece. A couple of
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: good teams going at it there. Okill and Princeton are
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: noted up in the second quarter seven to seven. There
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: at the half, Ripley leads Lincoln County seven to six.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: It's a good start to the season for Ripley. The
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Vikings trying to extend that as well. They are at
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: the half and Ripley. The Morgantown South Charleston game was
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: to have been played tonight, but it has been postponed
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: due to off the field issues. It'll be played at
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: noon tomorrow. Jefferson in Spring Valley will also be played
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: tomorrow as well. That one not a result of anything
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: off the field. That was just a long, long bus ride.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: That's better done on a Saturday. Winfield's got a fourteen
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: nothing lead on Chapmanville at home. There in the second quarter.
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: Rohan County has a seven to six lead over Clay County.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: They're in the second cour at Clay. You knew that

- 1:22:26Speaker 4: Back at Stadium Field in Parkersburg, Hurricanes got a twenty
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: one to fourteen halftime lead. Festivities happening on the field
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: below for a homecoming. We talked about the fact that
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: Parkersburg has such big and rich tradition here throwbacks to
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: the old days of high school football. And I haven't
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: seen this in a long time, but they actually have
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: players in uniform that are part of the homecoming court
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: escorting the young ladies through the raised swords of the
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: Marine corps rotc below. You don't see that very often anymore.
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: Coaches have kind of frowned upon that tradition and they'd
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: rather have their players in the locker room to get
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: adjustments for the second half. Nevertheless, happening here at Parkersburg.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: It's the weekend of the backyard Brawl. And that's about
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: all we need to say about tomorrow's game. Here's Kyle Wiggs.
- 1:23:20Speaker 18: On their lineman Nick Malone. Once committed to play at PITT.
- 1:23:23Speaker 18: That didn't work out, so Malone waited for an opportunity
- 1:23:26Speaker 18: at Double UVU, which came initially in the form of
- 1:23:29Speaker 18: a walk on invitation.
- 1:23:30Speaker 19: This is big, especially growing up in more In Town
- 1:23:32Speaker 19: and in my early days verbally committed Pit being where
- 1:23:35Speaker 19: I'm at now it's a surreal moment cause time is
- 1:23:38Speaker 19: perfect and I'm here. I think it's the collective of
- 1:23:41Speaker 19: West Virginia hates Pitt, but we don't like each other.
- 1:23:44Speaker 19: It's what you could say.
- 1:23:44Speaker 18: Malone earned a scholarship at Double UVU and now is
- 1:23:48Speaker 18: the starting right tackle on the offensive line.
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: What about the out of state guys?
- 1:23:51Speaker 18: Sophomore receiver Craylon Ray is a native of Tallahassee, Flora.
- 1:23:55Speaker 20: When I got here last year and I got to
- 1:23:57Speaker 20: play in a game, you can just feel it, you know,
- 1:23:59Speaker 20: you can feel it out the week and then when
- 1:24:01Speaker 20: see stuff on that field, you kind of you feel
- 1:24:03Speaker 20: as soon as you go out there. A couple of
- 1:24:04Speaker 20: my teammates, like CJ. Donalson, he telling me how it
- 1:24:07Speaker 20: was when he played his freshman year there, and he
- 1:24:09Speaker 20: was just like, this is nothing like it.
- 1:24:11Speaker 16: So I can't wait.
- 1:24:12Speaker 20: We know how good we are, you know how good
- 1:24:14Speaker 20: you know the team is. So we're just going down
- 1:24:15Speaker 20: there to play our game, just like any other game.
- 1:24:18Speaker 20: We know it's going to be, you know, nail bider,
- 1:24:20Speaker 20: but we just got to go out there and scratch,
- 1:24:22Speaker 20: fighting claw.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: From the pit perspective.
- 1:24:24Speaker 18: Panthers defensive end Nate Mattlack is a Kansas native and
- 1:24:27Speaker 18: a Kansas State transfer. He faced the Mountaineers while at
- 1:24:30Speaker 18: k State multiple times, and he recalls watching the WVU
- 1:24:34Speaker 18: pitt game with that massive crowd in Pittsburgh in twenty
- 1:24:37Speaker 18: twenty two.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: I saw the game on TV. I was watching it.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: I didn't realize.
- 1:24:41Speaker 21: I was like, why is this such a big game?
- 1:24:42Speaker 21: But then I realized there was a rivalry and I mean,
- 1:24:44Speaker 21: now I know how big it is for both programs,
- 1:24:47Speaker 21: how close we are. I understand it's a huge driverly
- 1:24:49Speaker 21: and I feel like I take pride in it already
- 1:24:51Speaker 21: so far, even though I haven't been there for here
- 1:24:53Speaker 21: too long. Casey, we always had a lot of lot
- 1:24:55Speaker 21: of respect for their team. Their offensive lines really physical,
- 1:24:58Speaker 21: and we knew they wanted to run the ball another
- 1:25:00Speaker 21: style offense. I mean, this game's gonna be physical regardless
- 1:25:03Speaker 21: because it's a rivalry game, and guys gonna be trying
- 1:25:05Speaker 21: to impost their will on each other as.
- 1:25:07Speaker 18: The backyard brawl comes up Saturday. Kyle Wiggs Metro newth Sports.

- 1:25:30Speaker 4: will be the biggest upset in school history when they

- 1:33:23Speaker 4: I think the story of this game has been Hurricanes
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: defense has improved considerably from what they played in the
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: first couple of games. Aaron Aaron Parker joins me here.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: I think you have to really give some props to
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: Hurricanes defense. They have played with a bit of a
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: chip on their shoulder tonight.
- 1:33:39Speaker 6: Yes, they have, and it starts with Joey Keano, the
- 1:33:41Speaker 6: senior linebacker, getting the Hurricanes scoring started with a pick
- 1:33:46Speaker 6: six with eight thirty eight left to go in the
- 1:33:48Speaker 6: first quarter, really reading a third down screen and taking
- 1:33:51Speaker 6: it to the house. He even recovered a returned I
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: should say, a kick, a little squip kick, and then
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: he's had multiple tackles for a while, not just him,
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: Stephen Lusher, Ethan Chill, They've been all over the place
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: as well. It's really started up front and the defensive
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: backs haven't had to be as tested as they have
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: been the last two weeks.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, indeed, they've definitely played a lot better, and I
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: think the work that they put in this week. I
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: went by practice to talk to Donnie Mayz this week
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: and h and they had the defense out there. Everybody
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: else was gone. The defense was out there still. They
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: were really like like you know, running or anything. They
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: were literally having a skull session where they were saying,
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: where are your eyes in this situation?
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: Where are you looking in this situation?
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: And you could really see that it paid off, particularly
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: on that pick six that Keano had, because that was
- 1:34:41Speaker 4: a perfectly executed screen pass by Parkersburg. Kan Kai did
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: a great job of drawing the defense in just like
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: you're supposed to do. He's like nine feet tall back there,
- 1:34:51Speaker 4: so he was able to just pop it right over
- 1:34:53Speaker 4: the head of the defense and it looked like it
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: was going to be completed. To Jakel Shelton, it was
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: in a perfect position. But Keano, because he had his
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: eyes on the quarterback, read it perfectly and he was
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: able to break on the ball right in front of Sheldon,
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: take it down and boom. He was off to the
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: races and then impressed it that he outran Shelton because
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: Shelton's no sloganook folk and put it into the end
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: zone for the pick six there to start this game.
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: So yeah, defensively, great effort tonight, great jobs so far
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: by this Redskins defense. Offensively, they're moving the ball, but
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: they just need to get opportunities because I think Matt
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: Comes's idea is as if we can keep the ball,
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: it keeps no of Vala Tomi off the field.
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: Right, and Veal Tombi hasn't even had many opportunities with
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: the ball, but when he's got it, he's taken advantage
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: of it, really capping off the second quarter with a
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: touchdown of his own, really lowering the shoulder and he
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: would not be denied right around the goal line taking
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: the lead. I thought Hurricane looked a lot better in
- 1:35:53Speaker 6: the first half, but like I said earlier, the scoreboard
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: didn't indicate that, and it was fourteen to fourteen when
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: maybe it should have been twenty one seven or something
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: like that could have should a Parkersburg was in it
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: and Villa Tommy put it in the end zone and
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: the Redskins get the ball.
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: To start the hat they do, and that will give
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: them an opportunity to go up by a couple of
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: scores here. I really thought though, early on, I thought
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: Hurricane was gonna run away with this with that quick
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: score on the pick six, and then they drove it
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: down and punched it in the end zone there at
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: the end on a pretty quick drive, and I thought
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: this thing was gonna get out of hand and ugly.
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: In fact, I even said during the break after that
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: second touchdown, I said, this thing's about to go away.
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: But then here's special teams. Parkersburg comes back and takes
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: the kickoff all the way back to the house. Well,
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: that killed the momentum that Hurricane had built, and you
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: had to restart it all over again. So the Redskins
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: have done a pretty good job going into the locker room,
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: building the lead here by a touchdown and getting an
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: opportunity here in the second half to give it another shot.
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: They will get the ball to start the second period,
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: and it looks like they will be moving on your
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: radio left to right for this opening drive. Donnie May
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: has had the Redskins, who are clad tonight in black
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: pants and white jerseys with red helmets, and he sends
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: them back out there. That probably wasn't the worst choice,
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: considering that Parkersburg is the exact same color and they
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: are wearing all red in their uniforms. So although I'm
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: not a big fan of going with black when it's
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: not your color scheme, I'm kind of glad they did
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: because it's made a lot easier to identify players. Tonight
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: kick is in the air. It's gonna squid down and
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: be hauled in at about the twenty two yard line,
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: moving to the far sideline, up over the thirty to
- 1:37:34Speaker 4: the thirty five, and finally being rolled out of bounds
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: on the return. That time for the Redskins was Jaden Smith,
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: one of the up men who picked it out of
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: the air. So Hurricane will start this drive at their
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: own thirty six yard line. First down in ten novella,
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: Timy brings them out and sets him down with a touchdown.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: Lead for this Redskins offense, Bella Tomby sends two to
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: the right, one to the left, and he's got Grace
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: in the backfield with him. Snap hand off to Grace
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: keeping it left side. He's got running room. He's up
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: over midfield. There he goes, great run by Kaylin Grace.
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: He's gonna pick up a bounce about eighteen yards on
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: the play. They're gonna mark him down at the Parkersburg
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: forty four yard line, and Hurrican's ready to go again.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: They didn't even set the chains. They handed off this
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: time to They handed off to Grace again. He's gonna
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: pick up a couple. The chain gang had not even
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: caught up with the play. The officials just let him go.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Now it's second down to eight, two yard pickup and
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: Bella Tomby ready to go again, sets him down, calling
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: for the ball, gives it to Grace. Grace drags tacklers
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: with him, pushing ahead. He's gonna pick up a couple
- 1:38:52Speaker 4: of more down to the Parkersburg at forty. Donny May
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: has told me this week when I was talking, he goes,
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: sometimes the officials will just call an official time out,
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: catch their own breath. Here we go, third down and
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: six for Hurricane Vella Tomby and he drew off sides.
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: Nice job, Vella. Tomby's shaking up the cadence and Parkersburg
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: bit on it. And the young man that ran across
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: went all the way through the Hurricane line into the
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: backfield and threw his hands up knowing that he blew
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: that one. So that's gonna give the Redskins five more
- 1:39:21Speaker 4: yards and it will not be enough for a first down,
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: but it will make it third down and inches rather
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: than third down and about five yards and.
- 1:39:31Speaker 6: Inches critical air there by zag Medina making it from
- 1:39:34Speaker 6: third and five to third and inches.
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: Big play Vella. Tomby sends two men to the right,
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: one to the left, and he goes up under center.
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: They're just gonna try to get it. He pushes it
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: ahead and easily gets the first down. Only had about
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: six inches he needed and that big line got him
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: that much.
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: And they tried that play near the goal line in
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: the second quarter, kind of a tush push play, trying
- 1:39:56Speaker 6: to get behind with two men behind Bell Tomby, but
- 1:39:59Speaker 6: they mess it up going out of motion and it
- 1:40:02Speaker 6: was a false start executing it there.
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: Ball now at the Parkersburg thirty three first in ten
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: hurricane snap back fake, the handoff the Grays throws it
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: into the end zone one on one coverage. It is
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: going to be flag flies, It's going to be incomplete.
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: He was out of bounds as ty Shondus was trying
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: to haul it in. Flag back up the field. Let's
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: check and see what that's going to be. As they
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: come in and have the conversation. I believe it's going
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: to be offensive pass interference depending on what the call is.
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: Parkersburg seems to be seems to be happy about the call.
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: Dues didn't get much space if it was OPI not
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: sure if he had much room there.
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: So they're having a conversation about it. Parkersburg seems their
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: defense seems convinced that it's on the Redskins. Here comes
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: the official to make the call. Well, he's talking, but
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: I can't hear him, and he's not made a signal.
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: It looks like they're back in the Red up whatever
- 1:41:00Speaker 6: it is now.
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: Whatever it was, he never did actually make a signal.
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: He's just saying it into his microphone, which I can't hear.
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: Well, it could be a fifteen yard backup. That might
- 1:41:10Speaker 6: have been offensive pass interference.
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: Like you said, But it is going to back the
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: Redskins all the way up to the forty seven and
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: forty eight yard line. Snap hand off to Grace, Grace
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: goes to the left side. He's going to be bottled
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: up and run out of bounds for no game. Kylin
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: Grace might have gotten one, but uh, Parkersburg's defense did
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: a good job stringing him out to the far sideline
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: and it's going to be second down now in twenty
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: five for a hurricane.
- 1:41:42Speaker 6: And this is exactly what the Big Reds defense wants.
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: Ball the air taken out of the ball for Vela Tomby.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: Three receivers to the right for Vella tom He snap,
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: He rolls to his right, looking down feel good protection,
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: throws it. Man is there.
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: He is caught at the thirty five.
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: That is jo Lee Burnett, and he steps out of
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: bounds right at the thirty four yard line of the
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: Big Reds. Big chunk pick up there, but he needed
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: twenty five. He's gonna get it, and he's gonna be
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: third down in about eleven. Now, he sends Burnette split
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: out to the left side there along with Dues. Now
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: he sends Kylin Grace out of the backfield. Vala Tomy
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: drops back, throws it to his man. It is Hampton.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: Hampton's got it. He's hit the thirty moving forward inside
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: the twenty five yard line, very close to a first down.
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: I believe he got a Shalik Hampton haulting in the
- 1:42:29Speaker 4: past from Noah Ella Tomby, and it looks like Hampton's
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: gonna be slow to get up. Bella Tomby had already
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: got him down there and was working to get get
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: his offense reset. But now Hampton is down. Keep in
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: mind he caught that ball a little while ago and
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: landed on his back and ended up shake it up
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: on that play. This time, he did not hit the
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: ground hard, or at least it didn't look like he did.
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: He caught the pass open, kind of a bubble screen
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: in the flat, and then he made something happen. He
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: got very close to the first down. They were going
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: to say he was just shy. Gonna be fourth down
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: and inches for hurricane win. Play resumes despite being one
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: yard short.
- 1:43:15Speaker 6: The bubble screen went executed or went run has been
- 1:43:19Speaker 6: well executed by the Redskins, and we saw his seventy
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: five I believe seventy four to seventy five yard touchdown
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: last week with Tyshawn Dues. They don't run the play
- 1:43:27Speaker 6: all that much. But again in the one minute offense
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: before the end of the half, nothing came of it,
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: but the screen pass was working and it was working
- 1:43:35Speaker 6: with ease.
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: Good news. Hampton is up walking off under his own
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: power again, and it gave Donnie Mays an opportunity to
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: talk over what he wants to do. Don't be surprised
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: if we don't see Valetoni go up under center again
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: here because literally it's fourth and inches that after they
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: started out first in twenty five. So here comes Valotomby
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: with the play. Parkersburg got an opportunity to set their
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: defense during that injury timeout as well. Valatomby eyes up
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: the defense seeing what they want to do. The official.
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: Now the official calls of time out. I'm not sure
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: what the conversation is about.
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: Can't I can't hear him either with the microphone issues.
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: But regardless, it looks like the chain crews coming in.
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: They're gonna measure they.
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: They may measure it because it looks very close. If
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: it was Donnie Mays may have actually called for the
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: measurement just to see how much he was gonna need.
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: So they're gonna come in and measure it. Ball is
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: right at.
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: The twenty three twenty three to twenty four yard line,
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: right in that vicinity. They put the marker down. They're
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: looking closely. It's the first down for the Redskins. So
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: that was a pretty good quest for a measurement by Hurricane.
- 1:44:54Speaker 6: Good spot there and the Redskins.
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: Ball's right at the twenty three yard line on the
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: right hash mark for Hurricane. So now with a fresh
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: set of downs, Hurricanes got a lot of options.
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: I do believe Donnie Mays did kind of come out
- 1:45:07Speaker 6: and coach his way towards this, towards the field, wanting
- 1:45:09Speaker 6: a spot of the ball right there.
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I wanted to wanted to check the measurement. Good
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: thing he did it because instead of fourth and inches,
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: it's first and ten, nine to twenty eight to go.
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: In the third period, Hurricanes got a touchdown lead. Trying
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: to build on that Vello Tomby brings his team to
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: the line. Two receivers to the left, one to the
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: right hand off Kylin Grace, who stumbles going forward and
- 1:45:29Speaker 4: falls after he was hit initially right at the line
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: of scrimmage by Ethan Jones, but he stumbled and fell
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: picked up a yard. It'll be second down to nine
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: for the Redskins.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: The Redskins haven't been able to get into their groove
- 1:45:43Speaker 6: this offense. While they've been methoughtical. We marched down the
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: field kind of like Parkersburg likes to do Bella.
- 1:45:48Speaker 4: Tomby sets him down, calls for the ball, puts it
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: into the belly of Grays plenty of running room. This
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: time he's at the fifteen, across the ten to the
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: five into the end zone. Touchdown Hurricane Kylin Gray is
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: twenty two yard touchdown run and Hurricane goes up by
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: two scores.
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: A great rundown hill by Kylan Grace. He got in
- 1:46:08Speaker 6: his groove right there, exactly what he wanted to do.
- 1:46:10Speaker 6: Good blocking, running inside the tackles, and he goes down
- 1:46:13Speaker 6: for the score, and it's a two score game.
- 1:46:15Speaker 4: With eight forty six to go, Hurricane pushes their lead
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: to twenty seven to fourteen, and here comes Seth Casto
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: to try the extra point. It was the same play
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: they had run previously, gave it to Grace. Previously he
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: got hit and stumbled for an only one yard game.
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: That time he had a great hole from his line
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: and had clear sailing right into the end zone.
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: Casto's kick into the air. That kick is good.
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: Eight forty six to go in the third period, Hurricane
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: leads at twenty eight to fourteen. You're listening to high

- 1:47:21Speaker 6: Eight forty six left in the third quarter. It's a
- 1:47:23Speaker 6: two score game, twenty eight fourteen. The Redskins lead the
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: Big Reds of Parkersburg the fourth touchdown in two games
- 1:47:29Speaker 6: by running back kyw And Grace. It's a twenty two
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: yard score by Grace, capping off a ten play sixty
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: four yard drive.
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: So now they got a two touchdown lead. Parkersburg sends
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: their return team out there and deep to receive. They
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: got Brady Thorne and also back there with him is
- 1:47:50Speaker 4: Cyrus Bacchus. Seth Casto lines up to kick it away.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: Has changed up this return team several times from what
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: their normal deep guys are. Let's see if they kick
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: it deep to Thorn again. He burned them once. Kick
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: in the air and it's away from Thorn. It's gonna
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: hit over at about the nineteen yard line out of bounds,
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: so that's gonna be a flag and Parkersburg will get
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: good field position to start this drive.
- 1:48:23Speaker 6: Special teams coming into play yet again for the second
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: time in the favor of the Big Reds, and that's
- 1:48:30Speaker 6: what they need to get back into this game.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: So they're gonna spot the ball, move it ahead. It
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: went out of bounds right at the twenty. They're going
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: to advance it ahead across the thirties. Still still trying
- 1:48:44Speaker 4: to figure out where they're going to spot it down.
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: I believe it's going to be right in the vicinity
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: of the thirty five yard line. It is, and they
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: put it on the right hash mark, and that's where
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: the Big Reds will begin to try and regain some
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: momentum here because Hurricane for the moment and has them
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: rocking back on their heels. Continued conversation between the officials.
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: Ball is spotted. Now they've got whatever the issue was
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: worked out, and we're back to football. Kan Kaid brings
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: his team to the line. He's got kel Shelton with
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: him in the backfield, brings a man in motion right
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: to left hand off Shelton. Misdirection, play goes the other
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: way and we're right there to stop him.
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: Nothing doing.
- 1:49:29Speaker 4: Joey Keano is in there, and also the big noseguard
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: in on the play as well, Darien Davis.
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: It's going to be important for Parkersburg to march down
- 1:49:40Speaker 6: the field and get a score here, at least a
- 1:49:42Speaker 6: field goal, because with their offense, they're not built to
- 1:49:45Speaker 6: come back from weeds. We said that last week with
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: Spring Valley, but I think it's even more true this
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: week with the Big Red.
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly right, Parkersburg.
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: Still we're in the third game, Still haven't thrown a
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: touchdown pass Now he picked up two on that play.
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: Second down to eight for the Big Red, snap back
- 1:49:59Speaker 4: hand again to Shelton. Shelton's gonna be bottled up and
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: stopped for a couple of yards nothing more. Clock continues
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: to roll at eight oh three, and now at this
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: point when Hurricane gets the lead, they're content to let
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: him just burn the clock.
- 1:50:13Speaker 6: And with a lot a lot of new guys for
- 1:50:15Speaker 6: the Big Reds, a lot of first time starters, you
- 1:50:17Speaker 6: wonder how how how big the playbook can be, how
- 1:50:22Speaker 6: how much you can expand with it. Obviously a lot
- 1:50:24Speaker 6: of runs up the gut here setting up for a third,
- 1:50:27Speaker 6: third and mid third and long.
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: Indeed, opportunity for Hurricanes defense here as they set up shotgunformation,
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: trips to the left, kan kid drops back, looks, throws
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: near side, underthrows his intended receiver, Brady Thorn, and it's
- 1:50:43Speaker 4: gonna be third down or fourth down and six for Parkersburg.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Big Red's gonna have to.
- 1:50:48Speaker 4: Punt it away.
- 1:50:48Speaker 6: Not a good throat there by a kid. Second one
- 1:50:52Speaker 6: around that area where he's underthrown it. The first one
- 1:50:55Speaker 6: was caught by Sheldon kind of bailing him out in
- 1:50:57Speaker 6: the first half. They're nothing the receiver could do on
- 1:51:01Speaker 6: that point.
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Brady Thorne.
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: Not only was it behind him, but it short hopped
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: him so deep to receive for hurricane, They've got Jolly
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: Burnett bounce there, snap his back low snap, but he
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: gets it away, punts straight up in the air.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: Not gonna get a lot of distance on that.
- 1:51:17Speaker 4: When it hits and actually takes a Hurricane roll and
- 1:51:20Speaker 4: goes back word, it's gonna go out of bounds at
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: the Parkersburg.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: Forty four yard line. That was about a seven yard punt.
- 1:51:29Speaker 6: That punt pops straight into the air to get any distance.
- 1:51:32Speaker 6: They got plenty of hang time, but that's not what
- 1:51:34Speaker 6: you're going for. There's no punting contest. And that was
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: popped right up into the air.
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: Yet cherry bomb hit rolled right backwards and Hurricane's gonna
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: have great field position.
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: They trailed by two touchdowns. Was seven eighteen to go.
- 1:51:46Speaker 4: Ball spotted at the Parkersburg forty four first and ten
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: for the Redskins. As they get marching orders for Donnie
- 1:51:53Speaker 4: Mays and they come out to try and do more damage.
- 1:51:57Speaker 6: And this is where Hurricane needs to keep their foot
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: on the gas pedal. Here, middle of the third quarter.
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: Up two scores, Vella Tomby sends twin receivers to the right,
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: one to the left, snap back, hands it to Grace
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: Grace fighting for yardage. He moves it ahead over the
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: left side, goes inside the forty yard line. Colin Grace
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: gonna pick up about six on the carry and it'll
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: bring up second down and four for the Redskins.
- 1:52:21Speaker 6: Kylin Grace looks really really good today. AJ Gregory not
- 1:52:24Speaker 6: getting much time.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Tempo hand off Grace no vella.
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: Tomby keeps it himself, pushes ahead, he's got first down yardage,
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: presses it ahead and stretches to the thirty yard line.
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: Noeh Ella Tomby great read that time. He had it
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: in the belly of his running back, Colin Grace, pulled
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: it out because Grace was getting hit. He pulled it out,
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: took it ahead first and ten here comes noe Bella.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: Tomby snapped back, handed off to Grace again. They know
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: he's coming and they can't stop and fighting it forward.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: Great running by Colin Grace that time, as they knew
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: exactly what Hurricane was going to do and they still
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: couldn't stop it. He picks up about two yards on
- 1:53:01Speaker 4: the play, pushing it to the twenty eight yard line.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: Second down and eight. Now as Hurricane methodically just coming
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: at him relentless with that tempo. Vela Tomby takes it,
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: fakes the handoff, drops back, loses the handle, has to
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: fall on it. That's gonna be a big loss for
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: the Redskins. Vela Tomby would fake the handoff, dump back
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: to the play action pass, lost the handle and just
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: fell on it. Wisely, but it's gonna be a loss
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: of about ten yards. It'll be third down and eighteen
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: now for Hurricane Ball at the Parkersburg thirty six yard line.
- 1:53:37Speaker 6: Looks like Vela Tommy wanted to dump that off the
- 1:53:39Speaker 6: tight end.
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: Retmacgrow send a man in motion out of the right
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: snap back throws it.
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: He's got ty. Shawn Dues dudes on.
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: The screen, takes it back to the original line of
- 1:53:49Speaker 4: scrimmage at the thirty So he's gonna pick up about six.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: And it's gonna be a fourth down play for the Redskins.
- 1:54:00Speaker 6: Will kind of muff to play there by Vella Tommy
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: proving to be critical here as a good drive. That's
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: a good drive killer right there. We'll see what the
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: Redskins do on fourth down.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: Fourth and a long.
- 1:54:11Speaker 4: Kind of in four down territory because you are out
- 1:54:13Speaker 4: of the field goal range and probably out of the
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: punt range. So Vellatomby with fourth and ten is gonna
- 1:54:18Speaker 4: line him up. So if he tries to at least
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: draw him off sides to make it fourth and five, Nope,
- 1:54:23Speaker 4: Velat Tomby's got it, rolls to his right. Good protection
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: throws man is there and it's god at the fifteen
- 1:54:27Speaker 4: yard line. Jolly Burnett is gonna be across that first
- 1:54:32Speaker 4: down marker, fourth and ten conversion for the Redskins. Jolly
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: Burnett hauled it in down around the fourteen yard line,
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: and the Redskins are in business.
- 1:54:43Speaker 6: And Kyl and Grace picking up the rusher right there,
- 1:54:45Speaker 6: a great block to give Vella Tomby all the time
- 1:54:48Speaker 6: in the world, and he took his time on that throat.
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: Bella Tomby takes the snap, gives it to Grace. Grace
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: trying to get out of the clutches of the defense.
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: This time he can't get away and they drag him down.
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: He gets it back to the line of scrimmage and
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: no more. It'll be second down and ten for the Redskins.
- 1:55:03Speaker 6: And Grace has played so physical today, not just running
- 1:55:06Speaker 6: the football, but able to stand in there and deliver
- 1:55:09Speaker 6: great blocks time in and time out. And it's nothing
- 1:55:11Speaker 6: against aj Gregory not getting many snaps the last two games.
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: It's just when a team can't stop Kylon Grace and
- 1:55:17Speaker 6: Noah Bella Tomby, why take him out?
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: Grace on the right side. This time Bella Tommy fakes
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: the handoff, drops back, looking into the end zone, throws
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: it across the middle cut touchdown, Hurricane ty Shawn Dues
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: coming across the middle an eleven yard touchdown pass and
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: Hurricanes' lead has now been extended to three touchdowns.
- 1:55:36Speaker 6: Ty Shawn Duees getting free in the open field across
- 1:55:40Speaker 6: the middle water route by the WVU commit. He'll be
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: in Morgantown next year, and he's showing why a big
- 1:55:46Speaker 6: seventy yard touchdown last week on the screenplay, he's showing
- 1:55:49Speaker 6: why he's a great route runner as well.
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: Great patience by Vala.
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: Tomby just waited back there in the pocket and saw
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: Dues come open across the middle. He had several options.
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: Dues was on a streak right toward the goalpost. Great
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: pass by belatmbe hauled in touchdown, extra point in the air.
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: It two is good. Four point thirty seven to go.
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: In the third period, Hurricane builds the lead to thirty
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: five to fourteen. Here at Stadium Field, you're listening to
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: high school football on the Voice of Charleston five eighty WCCHS.

- 1:56:49Speaker 6: For thirty seven to go. In the third quarter, it's
- 1:56:51Speaker 6: thirty five fourteen. Hurricane leads three the last three scores
- 1:56:54Speaker 6: by the Redskins and eight play forty four yard drive
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: capped off by a great catch, a great route over
- 1:57:00Speaker 6: the middle by Tyshawn Dues thrown by Noah Vella.
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: Tommy what that was fantastic, great drive by Hurricane that
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: included a fourth down conversion that got themselves into trouble
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: and you can just tell the poise of Ella tom
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: but he had it at one time first down in
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: twenty five. They ended up scoring on that kick. Deep
- 1:57:18Speaker 4: comes down into the end zone and no return in
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: that time. Great kick by Seth Casto. They'll bring it
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: out to the twenty where Parkersburg now trailing by twenty
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: one points.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: We'll try to put something together.
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: And you've mentioned it several times tonight, Aaron, that this
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: Parkersburg offense is not really built to come from behind,
- 1:57:36Speaker 4: particularly when the holes getting deeper like it is now.
- 1:57:39Speaker 6: And it makes sense when you lose your top passer,
- 1:57:41Speaker 6: your your top rusher last year, and your top four wideouts,
- 1:57:45Speaker 6: there's going to be some growing pains. And clearly this
- 1:57:47Speaker 6: offense was not built to go fast paced, pound for pound,
- 1:57:50Speaker 6: punch for punch with the Hurricane Redskins and now down
- 1:57:53Speaker 6: three scores, they've put themselves in quite a hole.
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: So here comes Parkersburg to the line. Twin receivers either way.
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: One man in the bank field that's Shelton. Hand off Shelton.
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: He moves up the middle, but the defense is right
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: there to stop him after a brief gain. Credit the
- 1:58:10Speaker 4: tackle that time for Hurricane coming down with the stop
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: was Hunter Bernard.
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: And the Big Reds pick up five on that one.
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: It'll be second down in five ball with the twenty
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: five yard line, but the clock just continues to turn
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: four fourteen to go. Here in the third period, Big
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: Reds come to the line. Jakel Shelton off the left
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: of the quarterback hands it to Shelton. Shelton right up
- 1:58:37Speaker 4: the middle. He's gonna be hit and dropped just as
- 1:58:39Speaker 4: he tries to break through tackle that time from Hurricanes
- 1:58:44Speaker 4: defense getting in on the action was devon short, devon short, and.
- 1:58:51Speaker 6: The Hurricane defense is really thriving off off the inability
- 1:58:55Speaker 6: to open the playbook for Parkersburg. It's just a lot
- 1:58:58Speaker 6: of a big recipe of Shelton up the gut. Even
- 1:59:01Speaker 6: you put a man in motion right there and it's
- 1:59:02Speaker 6: still shelting up the gut. They know what to prepare for,
- 1:59:05Speaker 6: and the defensive front is getting pushed.
- 1:59:06Speaker 4: You're going to be third down and two, and let's
- 1:59:08Speaker 4: see if Parkersburg's trying to lull the secondary to sleep.
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: And did they. Here's Cancaid snap hand off. Nope, gives
- 1:59:17Speaker 4: it this time to Jones and Jones is going to
- 1:59:20Speaker 4: burst through for a first down, taking it ahead to
- 1:59:26Speaker 4: the thirty two yard line. First and ten for Parkersburg.
- 1:59:33Speaker 6: Not a ton of opportunities for Ethan Jones, but he's
- 1:59:35Speaker 6: looked good when his number has been called.
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: I know Hurrican wants to get that ball back, but
- 1:59:40Speaker 4: right now, Parkersburg's just not hurting him that bad because
- 1:59:42Speaker 4: they're just burning the clock and they're trailing by three scores.
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: Not playing with a whole lot of concern at this point.
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: Can kid two men in the backfield and he's got
- 1:59:51Speaker 4: one man behind his left guard. Now he breaks Jones
- 1:59:54Speaker 4: out to the left hand off Shelton right side, turns it,
- 1:59:58Speaker 4: pushes it forward, takes it ahead for a pickup up
- 2:00:02Speaker 4: close to the thirty nine yard line, goes to kel Shelton. Actually,
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: they're gonna say he got to the thirty seven yard line.
- 2:00:11Speaker 4: It's gonna be second done in five. Pick up a
- 2:00:13Speaker 4: five on the play for the senior who has pretty
- 2:00:16Speaker 4: much carried the load for the big Reds tonight.
- 2:00:19Speaker 6: I think it's interesting Zane Lewis coming in. He's really
- 2:00:22Speaker 6: the coach out on the field. He's a wide receiver
- 2:00:24Speaker 6: wearing the linebacker vintage nineteen eighties pad out there, the
- 2:00:27Speaker 6: neck pad. Gotta love that gon a neck ro Buddy,
- 2:00:31Speaker 6: not much of a role.
- 2:00:33Speaker 4: Kind of a hand off right up the middle, and buddy,
- 2:00:36Speaker 4: there's nothing there this time. Shelton has hit immediately and
- 2:00:41Speaker 4: stopped short. Coming up with the stop of that time
- 2:00:45Speaker 4: was Jonah will Fong who met him right in the hole.
- 2:00:47Speaker 4: No gain on the play. Now, you mentioned the eighties throwback,
- 2:00:50Speaker 4: making me feel old because I played in the eighties,
- 2:00:53Speaker 4: and yeah, that was It was a neck role that
- 2:00:54Speaker 4: hooked to your shoulder.
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: It's not much of a role.
- 2:00:56Speaker 6: It's one of those early two thousands, the one.
- 2:00:59Speaker 4: That he was gonna say doesn't quite vintage. It's not
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: quite vintage eighties because in the eighties it was a
- 2:01:04Speaker 4: true role. Yeah, if you ever saw Brian Bosworth play,
- 2:01:07Speaker 4: you would see what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 2:01:10Speaker 4: before he was the sheriff of Fanville. Here we go,
- 2:01:14Speaker 4: big reds, third down and five shotgun formation. They send
- 2:01:18Speaker 4: Ethan Jones to the ride, snap fakes the handoff, kN
- 2:01:21Speaker 4: cave in trouble in the backfield, tries to throw it.
- 2:01:23Speaker 4: Man is there. It's complete to Jones and he makes
- 2:01:26Speaker 4: something out of nothing. My goodness, kncaid had to get
- 2:01:29Speaker 4: rid of that thing in a hurry. He was just
- 2:01:30Speaker 4: fortunate that Jones was over there. Jones hauled it in,
- 2:01:34Speaker 4: but it was a purely sandlot play and it came
- 2:01:38Speaker 4: and went for no game. They were very fortunate to
- 2:01:40Speaker 4: even get it back to the line of scrimmage and
- 2:01:42Speaker 4: that's going to force Parkersburg with a minute two to
- 2:01:44Speaker 4: go to punt, and that's big number sixty six.
- 2:01:47Speaker 6: Stephen Lusher again, he's been all over the place. Joey
- 2:01:50Speaker 6: Kellano probably the most active on defense, but Lusher right
- 2:01:53Speaker 6: behind him. He's been everywhere.
- 2:01:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I gotta think that the coaches are really smiling
- 2:01:56Speaker 4: about the work that was put in by this defense
- 2:01:58Speaker 4: all weekend. Tonight, snap back, kicking the air straight up
- 2:02:02Speaker 4: again and it's gonna hit short and take a Parkersburg
- 2:02:06Speaker 4: role this time down inside the Hurricane thirty rolling all
- 2:02:09Speaker 4: the way down inside the twenty to about the nineteen
- 2:02:14Speaker 4: yard line. Pretty good punt that time by Parkersburg. Even
- 2:02:16Speaker 4: though it didn't have a whole lot of distance, he
- 2:02:18Speaker 4: got a great role at the end of it. So
- 2:02:20Speaker 4: Hurricane with thirty one seconds to go in the third period,
- 2:02:23Speaker 4: in the thirty five to fourteen lead, we'll get the
- 2:02:26Speaker 4: ball first and ten back at their own nineteen.
- 2:02:28Speaker 6: That's about the best result you can have out of
- 2:02:30Speaker 6: that kick. Wasn't as bad as the last punt, but
- 2:02:32Speaker 6: it still was popped up in the air, didn't just
- 2:02:35Speaker 6: take a PHS bounce. It took a big PHS roll
- 2:02:38Speaker 6: and did indeed about two different PHS roles combined into
- 2:02:42Speaker 6: one there and turned out to be a good punt.
- 2:02:44Speaker 4: Lewis the punter comes off field, goes, yeah, I had
- 2:02:45Speaker 4: it all the time. Matt Comms is like, dude, you
- 2:02:48Speaker 4: kicked at ten yards it rolled forty snap back of
- 2:02:52Speaker 4: all the time. Be passed out into the flat to Burnette.
- 2:02:54Speaker 4: Burnette trying to make something happen. He does up over
- 2:02:56Speaker 4: the twenty five to the thirty first down Hurricane and
- 2:03:02Speaker 4: flags come in late. I think they're going to attack
- 2:03:04Speaker 4: fifteen more on because Burnett hauled in the pass went
- 2:03:08Speaker 4: out of bounds after he crossed the first down marker,
- 2:03:10Speaker 4: and I did not see exactly what happened, but I
- 2:03:13Speaker 4: saw him hit the ground hard out of bounds. Donnie
- 2:03:16Speaker 4: Mays was right there. He is definitely advocating for his man.
- 2:03:21Speaker 4: And we'll see the flags flew.
- 2:03:23Speaker 3: Who was it on?
- 2:03:26Speaker 6: If if there was a hit after that play, it
- 2:03:30Speaker 6: wasn't vicious. Couldn't hardly tell.
- 2:03:34Speaker 4: Oh, they're going to call holding on Hurricane. Okay, so
- 2:03:40Speaker 4: it's going to be holding on Hurricane. And then after
- 2:03:43Speaker 4: the play was dead, they called the personal foul on Parkersburg.
- 2:03:49Speaker 4: So that's going to give Hurricane a first down. As
- 2:03:51Speaker 4: they moved the sticks, they didn't really mark it off.
- 2:03:57Speaker 4: They've spotted the ball at the thirty four yard line,
- 2:03:59Speaker 4: so first and ten redskins. After all that, after two penalties,
- 2:04:03Speaker 4: here's Bella. Tomby takes it, looks throws, doud he move
- 2:04:05Speaker 4: his feet hits Tyshawn Duesdues moving it ahead as well,
- 2:04:10Speaker 4: getting it up to close to the first down marker
- 2:04:12Speaker 4: and running out of bounds.
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: Ty Shawn Dues.
- 2:04:16Speaker 4: Just those quick bubble screens and letting your skill guys
- 2:04:19Speaker 4: do what they can. They're actually gonna say he stepped
- 2:04:21Speaker 4: out after a bouts a six yard game, pushing it
- 2:04:24Speaker 4: ahead to the forty yard line. Second down in four,
- 2:04:27Speaker 4: Hurrican ready to go, snap back, hand off Grace hitting
- 2:04:30Speaker 4: the backfield this time. Parkersburg was waiting on him, and
- 2:04:33Speaker 4: he's gonna lose about five yards.
- 2:04:35Speaker 3: Coylin.
- 2:04:36Speaker 4: Grace got the ball that time and had no where
- 2:04:39Speaker 4: to go. They were right on him. Actually, they're gonna
- 2:04:45Speaker 4: say he lost about two ball spotted back at the
- 2:04:49Speaker 4: thirty eight yard line of Hurricane, and that's going to
- 2:04:53Speaker 4: be the final play of the third period three in
- 2:04:56Speaker 4: the Bucks one to go thirty five to fourteen, Hurricanes
- 2:04:59Speaker 4: got the lead to high school football and the voice
- 2:05:01Speaker 4: at Charleston five to eighty wchs.

- 2:05:30Speaker 14: not a Parmar store near you now, there will be center.
- 2:05:38Speaker 4: Getting ready to start the fourth quarter here at stadium field.
- 2:05:41Speaker 4: As we switch into the field, Hurricane will have the ball.
- 2:05:46Speaker 4: We'll be third down and six for the Redskins. As
- 2:05:49Speaker 4: they spot the ball at Hurricanes thirty seven yard line,
- 2:05:53Speaker 4: thirty thirty eight yard line, actually third down and six,
- 2:05:58Speaker 4: and they put it on the left hash mark. But
- 2:06:00Speaker 4: Hurricane will be traveling right to left, and they will
- 2:06:03Speaker 4: not have the advantage of seeing the clock. Although the
- 2:06:06Speaker 4: last thing no of Ella Tomby really cares about when
- 2:06:09Speaker 4: he comes to the line is the clock because he
- 2:06:11Speaker 4: wants everybody up playing as fast as they can. I
- 2:06:14Speaker 4: don't think they even look at the clock on that
- 2:06:16Speaker 4: Hurricane offense.
- 2:06:17Speaker 6: Right Everything seems to be a two minute offense. But
- 2:06:19Speaker 6: they have had a methodical drive or two where they've
- 2:06:21Speaker 6: had to go over double digit played something you don't
- 2:06:24Speaker 6: usually see over double digit plays, and they've they had
- 2:06:27Speaker 6: to burn some clock in it.
- 2:06:29Speaker 4: Well, that's because they've had a penalty or an injury
- 2:06:31Speaker 4: or something that slows them down, or a negative play.
- 2:06:33Speaker 4: Snap back to Bella, Tomby pitches it ahead, sort of
- 2:06:36Speaker 4: a shovel pass to Grace. Grace goes left side, this
- 2:06:38Speaker 4: time ahead over the forty and over the forty five
- 2:06:41Speaker 4: yard line. Kylin Grace with kind of a pitch passed
- 2:06:46Speaker 4: by Noel Vela Tombi out of the backfield. He's going
- 2:06:48Speaker 4: to be very close to the first down marker. As
- 2:06:51Speaker 4: they market, they may have to measure this. It's going
- 2:06:54Speaker 4: to be very close. Hurricanes. It's like put us on
- 2:06:56Speaker 4: the ball let's go. Nope, they're going to say first down.
- 2:06:58Speaker 4: They spotted it right at the forty five yard line.
- 2:07:00Speaker 4: Redskins are ready to go. Velle Tomby sets them down
- 2:07:04Speaker 4: twin receivers right, one to the left, handoff. Grace pushes ahead,
- 2:07:08Speaker 4: fighting behind those blockers, drives it over the fifty yard
- 2:07:11Speaker 4: line and down into Parkersburg territory. Big Kylin Grace, keeping
- 2:07:16Speaker 4: those legs churning and moving ahead.
- 2:07:19Speaker 6: That's exactly what he did right there, keeping the legs churning.
- 2:07:22Speaker 6: Even ran into one of his own blockers and kept
- 2:07:25Speaker 6: pushing forward, pushing his blocker forward and getting another of
- 2:07:28Speaker 6: three or four yards after the contact.
- 2:07:30Speaker 4: Nine yard pickup for Hurricanes. Second down and one balls
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: at Parkersburg forty six. Redskins looking to the sideline to
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: Donnie Mays, who signals in the play. Velletmby make sure
- 2:07:40Speaker 4: everybody knows he has to get the call out to
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: Tyshawn Dues.
- 2:07:44Speaker 3: He has it now.
- 2:07:45Speaker 4: Vela Tomby takes a snap, fakes the hand off, drops
- 2:07:47Speaker 4: back across the middle. He goes picked up by Parkersburg,
- 2:07:50Speaker 4: coming the other way up over the forty to the
- 2:07:52Speaker 4: forty five yard line and hauling it in for the
- 2:07:54Speaker 4: Big Reds. That was Brian Gregory, who was playing center field.
- 2:07:58Speaker 4: Stayed at home and the ball, I'll just hit right
- 2:08:01Speaker 4: into his hands and it looked like Bella TOMBI just
- 2:08:06Speaker 4: threw it a little high that time, and that ends
- 2:08:08Speaker 4: Hurricanes threatening drive.
- 2:08:10Speaker 6: Thought at first it might be a misread, but I
- 2:08:12Speaker 6: do think after thinking about it for a second, I
- 2:08:14Speaker 6: think Bella Tommy just kind of overthrew that one, but
- 2:08:17Speaker 6: he did really popped it up. And that's the second
- 2:08:19Speaker 6: overthrow of the night. First one being on the big
- 2:08:22Speaker 6: fourth down play in the left corner of the end zone.
- 2:08:24Speaker 6: That was an overthrow by quite a few yards, as
- 2:08:27Speaker 6: was that interception.
- 2:08:28Speaker 3: He had a man across the middle.
- 2:08:29Speaker 4: I did not catch who that was, but it just
- 2:08:31Speaker 4: sailed high on him and that was that was a
- 2:08:34Speaker 4: can of corn for the defense. First and ten fakes.
- 2:08:38Speaker 4: The handoff drops back. Kankaid gonna throw it downfield and
- 2:08:41Speaker 4: it is incomplete. He threw it trying to get it
- 2:08:45Speaker 4: into the hands of Zane Lewis. Lewis could not handle it.
- 2:08:49Speaker 4: Ball falls incomplete. Ten fifty seven ago o'clock has stopped.
- 2:08:53Speaker 6: Here in the fourth quarter, Cancaid, after throwing one touchdown.
- 2:08:57Speaker 6: You could see a little bit of frustration on him.
- 2:09:00Speaker 6: And as each play you have to burn about twenty
- 2:09:03Speaker 6: seconds off the plate clock. Off your plate clock, you know,
- 2:09:07Speaker 6: he's had quite a few incompletions. And there's another one
- 2:09:10Speaker 6: right there. He did throw that one. That was probably
- 2:09:12Speaker 6: his hardest throwing ball of the day. That one was
- 2:09:14Speaker 6: kind of a bullet, just missed the hands right there.
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: Well, he had Lewis out there, but he just led
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: him a little too much.
- 2:09:20Speaker 4: Second and ten for the big reds Kankaid pistol formation,
- 2:09:23Speaker 4: hands it off, punching right.
- 2:09:25Speaker 3: Up the middle.
- 2:09:26Speaker 4: Believe that's gonna be Shelton, and Shelton had nowhere to go,
- 2:09:31Speaker 4: got driven back big old Darien Davis. That's kind of
- 2:09:36Speaker 4: like getting hit by a coke machine. When that guy
- 2:09:38Speaker 4: comes at.
- 2:09:38Speaker 6: You, it kind of rolls off your tongue. You say,
- 2:09:41Speaker 6: big old Darien Davis. It's usually not Darien Davis. It's
- 2:09:44Speaker 6: that noseguard, that big old Darien Davis. And he's held
- 2:09:47Speaker 6: the four down. While he's not getting all the stats
- 2:09:50Speaker 6: compared to to Lusher and Joey Keanu, he's done a
- 2:09:52Speaker 6: great job behind the ball tonight.
- 2:09:54Speaker 4: Well, keep in mind Jordan hess is the backup center
- 2:09:57Speaker 4: who's had to deal with him all night. He's not
- 2:09:59Speaker 4: done too bad of a job, considering is the backup
- 2:10:03Speaker 4: snap back to Kancaid looking across the field.
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: He's in trouble.
- 2:10:06Speaker 4: Here they come. He's trying to get out of it,
- 2:10:08Speaker 4: but he will not. Hurricane takes him down hard in
- 2:10:11Speaker 4: the backfield. Back there on the stop. Several Redskins in
- 2:10:16Speaker 4: on that play.
- 2:10:18Speaker 6: Looked like Lusher again. Ye.
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: Rusher was back there and Bernard got to him as well.
- 2:10:23Speaker 4: The pocket just collapsed on Cancaid and he's a big,
- 2:10:26Speaker 4: tall guy, but once it was all around him, he
- 2:10:28Speaker 4: had nowhere to go. Fourth down, Hurricanes defense holds again.
- 2:10:32Speaker 4: Parkersburg gonna have to punt it. Lewis drops back in
- 2:10:35Speaker 4: punt formation and deep to receive for the Redskins is
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: going to be Legros who's just gonna let it hit
- 2:10:44Speaker 4: and roll. It goes down inside the twenty yard line,
- 2:10:47Speaker 4: be down at the nineteen. So Hurricane, with nine thirty
- 2:10:50Speaker 4: to go in the ball game and the thirty five
- 2:10:52Speaker 4: to fourteen lead, will get an opportunity to try and
- 2:10:55Speaker 4: build on that lead again.
- 2:10:57Speaker 6: Stephen Lusher has been amazing for the Redskins. It was
- 2:11:00Speaker 6: Joey Keano for the majority of the first half and
- 2:11:02Speaker 6: he's been great throughout the course of the game, but
- 2:11:05Speaker 6: Russia really boosting his stats here in the third and
- 2:11:08Speaker 6: fourth quarter. He's been all over the field, as has
- 2:11:11Speaker 6: Joey Keano. And like we've said a bunch of times, tonight,
- 2:11:14Speaker 6: the Hurricane defense has answered the bell. And again the
- 2:11:18Speaker 6: secondary has not been tested like the first two weeks,
- 2:11:21Speaker 6: and it will probably continue to be expanded past what
- 2:11:25Speaker 6: they're seeing tonight. But again you have to give credit
- 2:11:27Speaker 6: where credits due. The Redskins defense has struggled, and they've
- 2:11:30Speaker 6: been good tonight.
- 2:11:31Speaker 4: Yeah, they've been very good tonight, inefficient, giving up only
- 2:11:34Speaker 4: fourteen points, really only seven because one of those was
- 2:11:36Speaker 4: a special team touchdown. Here comes the Redskins into the
- 2:11:41Speaker 4: open field, across the forty, across the fifty, Colin Grace.
- 2:11:44Speaker 4: It's a foot racing, he's got a blocker at the twenty,
- 2:11:47Speaker 4: the ten, the five touchdown, Hurricane Colin Grace with an
- 2:11:51Speaker 4: eighty one yard touchdown carry, and the Redskins are up
- 2:11:56Speaker 4: four touchdowns with nine to sixteen to go in the game.
- 2:12:00Speaker 4: Nothing fancied there. They handed it to Colin Grace like
- 2:12:03Speaker 4: they have been all night. That time, he bounced it
- 2:12:05Speaker 4: to the outside and he got a blocker and they
- 2:12:08Speaker 4: just ran with him all the way down the field.
- 2:12:10Speaker 4: It looked like an eighty yard wind sprint and Parkersburg
- 2:12:14Speaker 4: had no chance of getting him on that one.
- 2:12:16Speaker 6: Kyland Grace has been phenomenal his fifth touchdown in the
- 2:12:20Speaker 6: last two games. And while he is kind of a
- 2:12:23Speaker 6: power back at times, he can get down the sidelines
- 2:12:25Speaker 6: as we just saw right there, and the route is on.
- 2:12:27Speaker 4: Forty one fourteen. As Seth Caste lines up for the
- 2:12:31Speaker 4: extra point, Casto awaits the snap, it's hoib at his hand,
- 2:12:37Speaker 4: little kick is in the air, and that kick is good.
- 2:12:42Speaker 4: Nine to sixteen to go in the game. Hurricanes got
- 2:12:44Speaker 4: a forty two fourteen lead. You're listening to high school
- 2:12:46Speaker 4: football on the Voice of Charleston five eighty WCHM.
- 2:12:50Speaker 8: Putnam County Bank proudly supports hurric in high school and
- 2:12:53Speaker 8: it's amazing athletes. As your community bank, they're committed to
- 2:12:57Speaker 8: investing in our future leaders both on and off the field.
- 2:13:01Speaker 8: We're cheering for the Red Skansas. They strive for victory,
- 2:13:04Speaker 8: knowing the dedication and teamwork they show today will lead
- 2:13:07Speaker 8: to success tomorrow. At Putnam County Bank. They believe in
- 2:13:11Speaker 8: building strong communities and that starts with supporting our local schools.
- 2:13:15Speaker 8: Go Red Scans, Putnam County Bank, supporting our communities.
- 2:13:19Speaker 4: Championskins here County.
- 2:13:25Speaker 6: Nine to sixteen. Left in the ballgame. Forty two to
- 2:13:27Speaker 6: fourteen is your score? Hurricane leeds Parkersburg a one play,
- 2:13:32Speaker 6: eighty one yard score down the sideline Kyle and Grace.
- 2:13:35Speaker 6: His second touchdown of the afternoon of the evening, I
- 2:13:37Speaker 6: should say two big Wong touchdowns last week against Spring
- 2:13:40Speaker 6: Valley in one short that's his first big, long, big
- 2:13:43Speaker 6: Wong touchdown run of the day.
- 2:13:45Speaker 4: Well, certainly nobody is surprised by how the Hurricane offense
- 2:13:48Speaker 4: is performing. The story of the nine for this Redskins
- 2:13:50Speaker 4: team has been the way their defense has come to play,
- 2:13:53Speaker 4: giving up only one score. The other big Red touchdown
- 2:13:57Speaker 4: came on a kickoff return. So eat job tonight by
- 2:14:00Speaker 4: that Hurricane defense. They really stepped it up. Kick is
- 2:14:03Speaker 4: in the air and it's gonna come down and be
- 2:14:06Speaker 4: taken at the one up, across the five, to the ten,
- 2:14:09Speaker 4: to the fifteen, ahead to the twenty, and that's where
- 2:14:12Speaker 4: the Redskins coverage team closes in on him, stops him
- 2:14:16Speaker 4: at about the twenty four yard line and on the
- 2:14:20Speaker 4: return that time for Parkersburg was Cyrus Bacchus first and
- 2:14:26Speaker 4: ten Big Reds at their own twenty five with nine
- 2:14:29Speaker 4: to eight to go in the game. They trailed by
- 2:14:30Speaker 4: four scores.
- 2:14:32Speaker 6: You've got to give so much credit to Kylin Grace,
- 2:14:35Speaker 6: so much talent on this offense with Tyshawn dues Shui, Campton,
- 2:14:38Speaker 6: Novel Tomby on down the list. Kyland Grace. We didn't
- 2:14:42Speaker 6: have much of a book on him to start the season,
- 2:14:44Speaker 6: and he's been phenomenal game in and game out.
- 2:14:46Speaker 7: Well.
- 2:14:46Speaker 4: We had a great season last year, but he was
- 2:14:48Speaker 4: playing basically behind Vala Tomby in that running back position.
- 2:14:51Speaker 4: Now Vala Tommy back at quarterback and picking right up
- 2:14:54Speaker 4: where they left off pass over to the flat and
- 2:14:57Speaker 4: he dropped it incomplete that passing t over there for
- 2:15:01Speaker 4: Isaac Daly. Ken Kid tried to make a quick slant
- 2:15:04Speaker 4: throw and hit him on the numbers. He just can't
- 2:15:06Speaker 4: hold on to it.
- 2:15:08Speaker 6: Again, We're seeing how Parkersburg offense is not built to
- 2:15:11Speaker 6: be in a big game like this where they are
- 2:15:14Speaker 6: needing to score thirty five plus points to be in
- 2:15:17Speaker 6: the game. They need to rely on their defense as
- 2:15:19Speaker 6: they have not much experience on the offensive end. Kan
- 2:15:22Speaker 6: Kid has not been great tonight and when he puts
- 2:15:24Speaker 6: one on the numbers, it's drawed.
- 2:15:25Speaker 4: Second and ten for Parkersburg Cooper ken Kaid. The quarterback
- 2:15:29Speaker 4: brings him in in motion right to left, that is
- 2:15:32Speaker 4: Lewis snap back, hands it off to Shelton, nowhere to run.
- 2:15:37Speaker 4: They got him defense right there in his face again,
- 2:15:40Speaker 4: bottling him up, giving him nowhere to go. Hunter Bernard
- 2:15:44Speaker 4: that time, along with about four of his white clad
- 2:15:47Speaker 4: friends all around Shelton, who was in a phone booth
- 2:15:51Speaker 4: and could not get out.
- 2:15:53Speaker 3: No gain on the play. Third down and ten for Parkersburg.
- 2:15:56Speaker 4: Hurricane defense playing above the above the ground right now got.
- 2:16:01Speaker 6: To be frustrating a little bit for head coach Matt Times,
- 2:16:04Speaker 6: obviously not able to do much offensively and time and
- 2:16:07Speaker 6: time again, taking a lot of time off the clock
- 2:16:09Speaker 6: and not getting much of a result.
- 2:16:11Speaker 4: Three receivers to the ride for Parkersburg won to the left.
- 2:16:13Speaker 4: Shelton remains in the backfield shaded to the right of
- 2:16:16Speaker 4: the quarterback. Cancaid brings Lewis in motion right to left,
- 2:16:20Speaker 4: snap back, Cancaid drops back looking looking pressures there. He
- 2:16:23Speaker 4: throws it as he's hid and it's incomplete, intended for
- 2:16:27Speaker 4: the safety valve. It was just kind of out there.
- 2:16:31Speaker 4: That was Hunter Levitt, but one of those big lineman
- 2:16:37Speaker 4: hit Kankad just as he released it. It did not
- 2:16:40Speaker 4: get who it was, but that's kind of how it's
- 2:16:42Speaker 4: been all night.
- 2:16:43Speaker 6: Looked like it was a linebacker. Devin shortly, yeah on
- 2:16:45Speaker 6: the pressure.
- 2:16:46Speaker 4: Okay, we'll give him the credit on that one, because
- 2:16:48Speaker 4: but there were several guys that were just about to
- 2:16:50Speaker 4: swallow Kancaid and he just had to get rid of
- 2:16:52Speaker 4: it and it was incomplete. Here's the punch straight up
- 2:16:54Speaker 4: in the air again not a lot of distance. Let's
- 2:16:56Speaker 4: see what the role will be. It's a Hurricane roll
- 2:16:59Speaker 4: and Parker's Berg fields it right at about the forty
- 2:17:03Speaker 4: yard line their own forty, so Hurricane gets great field position.
- 2:17:07Speaker 4: After about a fifteen yard punt and leading forty two
- 2:17:11Speaker 4: to fourteen with seven fifty five to go in the game,
- 2:17:14Speaker 4: the Redskins will try to burn some clock and.
- 2:17:17Speaker 6: Kylin Grace has been I think the player of the
- 2:17:19Speaker 6: game for the Redskins. You wonder if aj Gregory gets
- 2:17:21Speaker 6: some carries here seven to fifty five to go in
- 2:17:23Speaker 6: a forty two to fourteen game. He's had some high
- 2:17:26Speaker 6: leverage snaps, especially against Huntington, some last week against Spring Valley,
- 2:17:30Speaker 6: and he's been good when we've seen him, but we
- 2:17:32Speaker 6: haven't seen him touch the ball in high leverage spots
- 2:17:35Speaker 6: a lot over the last five six quarters.
- 2:17:38Speaker 4: Here comes Hurrican Noah Ella Tomby brings his team out
- 2:17:41Speaker 4: and he's directing them where to go. They've got the
- 2:17:43Speaker 4: ball at the Parkersburg forty one yard line. Kylin Grace
- 2:17:47Speaker 4: remains in there, hand off to Grace. Grace punches it
- 2:17:50Speaker 4: right up the middle inside of the forty to the
- 2:17:51Speaker 4: thirty five, into the open field at the thirty, down
- 2:17:53Speaker 4: to the twenty five and on down close to the
- 2:17:55Speaker 4: twenty one yard line. Kylin Grace about a nineteen year
- 2:18:00Speaker 4: yard run again and leaving big reds in his wake.
- 2:18:03Speaker 4: He's running downhill. Now Parkersburg's had enough.
- 2:18:06Speaker 6: Well, if it ain't broke, you don't fix it, uh,
- 2:18:09Speaker 6: And Kylon Grace is running like a bully tonight.
- 2:18:12Speaker 4: They mark him at the twenty two. That's an eighteen
- 2:18:14Speaker 4: yard pickup for Grace. Valetomby's shot gun. Snap, here we
- 2:18:17Speaker 4: go again, handing it off to Grace. Nope, keeps it himself,
- 2:18:20Speaker 4: goes to the right side, makes a man miss, shoves
- 2:18:22Speaker 4: it forward, picks up a couple. Noah, Vala Tomby on
- 2:18:25Speaker 4: the quarterback keeper man, he can read that thing quick.
- 2:18:29Speaker 4: So frustrating as a defender. You think you got the
- 2:18:32Speaker 4: man who's getting the ball in Vala Tomby pulls it
- 2:18:34Speaker 4: right out of his bread basket, keeps it and goes
- 2:18:36Speaker 4: right past you.
- 2:18:38Speaker 3: And now Parkersburg's got a man down.
- 2:18:41Speaker 6: Looks like Zane lewis there the coach on the fields
- 2:18:44Speaker 6: as head coach. As head coach Matt comes.
- 2:18:47Speaker 4: Calls him, Yeah, looks like he's got a cramp. So
- 2:18:50Speaker 4: while they attend to him, we will take a break.
- 2:18:53Speaker 4: You're fine. Your score right now. Hurricane leads a forty
- 2:18:55Speaker 4: two to fourteen. Was seven twenty two to go in
- 2:18:58Speaker 4: the ball game. You're listening igh school football in the
- 2:19:01Speaker 4: voice of Charleston five eighty wchs.

- 2:19:32Speaker 17: recovery today.
- 2:19:36Speaker 4: All right, So Lewis is up comes off the field
- 2:19:39Speaker 4: under his own power. So that's good news for the
- 2:19:40Speaker 4: Parkersburg Fants because he's an important part of that big
- 2:19:44Speaker 4: red offense. Hurricanes got it second down and nine ball
- 2:19:48Speaker 4: is spotted at the Parkersburg twenty one yard line. Donnie
- 2:19:51Speaker 4: Mays uses the opportunity to give some instruction to his
- 2:19:55Speaker 4: offense and give them a little bit of a breather.
- 2:19:57Speaker 4: Although those guys are in pretty good shape, they don't
- 2:19:59Speaker 4: ness necessarily need too many breather's not like the defense
- 2:20:02Speaker 4: does when they're on the field, and the.
- 2:20:03Speaker 6: Wide receiver corps for Hurricane has not exactly had to
- 2:20:06Speaker 6: go through all their route progressions. As Kyle and Grace
- 2:20:09Speaker 6: gets the ball and he's ready to go about two
- 2:20:11Speaker 6: out of every three plays.
- 2:20:12Speaker 4: So they send three receivers to the right and one
- 2:20:14Speaker 4: to the left. Grace has shaded off to the side
- 2:20:16Speaker 4: of Vella Tomby, snap back and it to Grace. Nope,
- 2:20:19Speaker 4: Velatonbi keeps it right side. Inside the fifteen down to
- 2:20:22Speaker 4: the ten yard line, goes no of Vlo Tomby first
- 2:20:25Speaker 4: down run for the Redskins, and they ain't done yet.
- 2:20:29Speaker 6: And Vela Tomby, like we've said, he's so so good
- 2:20:31Speaker 6: at that read option and when to pull it and
- 2:20:33Speaker 6: when to stick it in the belly of Grace or
- 2:20:35Speaker 6: Gregory hasn't had to run the readoption a ton tonight
- 2:20:38Speaker 6: as Grace has been so effective, and the bubble screen
- 2:20:40Speaker 6: to dos in Hampton have been effective the as well.
- 2:20:42Speaker 4: And when he does run that run that RPO, he's
- 2:20:46Speaker 4: so effective at running it, it's it's almost impossible to
- 2:20:49Speaker 4: defend that. And we just got word from Nitro that
- 2:20:57Speaker 4: Hoover has won in overtime over the Wildcats. Must have
- 2:21:01Speaker 4: been a wild one over there, around ninety six to
- 2:21:03Speaker 4: one kws pass into the flat overthrows everybody. I think
- 2:21:08Speaker 4: there was some confusion there on who was supposed to
- 2:21:11Speaker 4: be the intended receiver for hurricane. No, Sean Hampton was
- 2:21:15Speaker 4: looking that way and went over his head. Also split
- 2:21:18Speaker 4: out there was Jolly Burnett went over his head and
- 2:21:21Speaker 4: Vella Tomby I think was sam My bad. He threw
- 2:21:23Speaker 4: that one a little too high and that one.
- 2:21:24Speaker 6: Did seem to be some miscommunication and I think no,
- 2:21:27Speaker 6: Shan Hampton was supposed to maybe run. I think he
- 2:21:29Speaker 6: had the right route and Bella Tommy thought he was
- 2:21:31Speaker 6: going towards the corner. Yeah, at least towards the side
- 2:21:35Speaker 6: of it. I think Vala Tomby punched his chest and
- 2:21:38Speaker 6: said that was mine.
- 2:21:39Speaker 4: Snap hand off Grace hit in the backfield, but still
- 2:21:42Speaker 4: finds a way to get it back to the line
- 2:21:44Speaker 4: of scrimmage.
- 2:21:44Speaker 3: Colin Grace.
- 2:21:47Speaker 4: Takes it ahead for about a yard and by all
- 2:21:49Speaker 4: rights he should have lost three. Great job by Grace
- 2:21:53Speaker 4: to just get that ball back to the line of scrimmage,
- 2:21:55Speaker 4: so it's going to be third down and goal balls
- 2:21:57Speaker 4: right out the ten yard line.
- 2:21:59Speaker 6: And again grew the tight end listed as a receiver,
- 2:22:02Speaker 6: but really a tight end has done a great job,
- 2:22:04Speaker 6: just like the previous two weeks at being that lead
- 2:22:06Speaker 6: blocker of going behind Drake Lannam the Marshall commit he's
- 2:22:09Speaker 6: been great and opening up holes for Kylin. Grace.
- 2:22:12Speaker 4: Plot continues to roll, velleton Be milking it down five
- 2:22:15Speaker 4: point fifty three to go. He really doesn't need to
- 2:22:18Speaker 4: do anything.
- 2:22:19Speaker 3: Burn Clock.
- 2:22:19Speaker 4: They hand it off to Grace again. Nope, Roast to
- 2:22:22Speaker 4: the right, throws it into the hands of Magrew McGrew
- 2:22:24Speaker 4: at the five, hit and stretches at the end zone.
- 2:22:26Speaker 4: Touchdown Hurricane wrtt. McGrew with a ten yard touchdown catch
- 2:22:33Speaker 4: and Hurricane scores again.
- 2:22:36Speaker 6: And there's McGrew catching a pass. He had three touchdowns
- 2:22:39Speaker 6: last year.
- 2:22:40Speaker 4: Chris.
- 2:22:40Speaker 6: We know he can do it, but with so many
- 2:22:42Speaker 6: other offensive weapons, he's really been primarily a blocker this year,
- 2:22:46Speaker 6: but showing he's got some hands and some wheels as well.
- 2:22:48Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can tell that he doesn't catch very
- 2:22:50Speaker 4: many because man, he was wide open, but velleton Be
- 2:22:54Speaker 4: saw him, tossed it right at him. He took it
- 2:22:57Speaker 4: at the five turn, got hit at the three, stretched
- 2:22:59Speaker 4: it into the end zone. Touchdown, Hurricane, and the extra
- 2:23:03Speaker 4: point is pending. Seth cast Do waiting on the snap
- 2:23:10Speaker 4: kick in the air. Seth caste Do's kick is good
- 2:23:14Speaker 4: and now flags fly. Some extracurricular activity at the end
- 2:23:19Speaker 4: of the play and they quickly separate the players. Some
- 2:23:23Speaker 4: frustration there obviously, so that'll probably be assessed on the kickoff,
- 2:23:27Speaker 4: but the extra points good and Hurricane now leads it
- 2:23:29Speaker 4: with five point thirty five to go in the game
- 2:23:31Speaker 4: forty nine to fourteen. You're listening to high school football

- 2:24:10Speaker 6: Steak and feeling in Parkerson A forty quarter well was
- 2:24:16Speaker 6: once a fourteen to fourteen game, five straight unanswered scores
- 2:24:19Speaker 6: by the Hurricane Redskins. That is a six play, forty
- 2:24:22Speaker 6: one yard drive by the Redskins led by kyl and
- 2:24:25Speaker 6: Grace the running back, and it's a ten yard touchdown
- 2:24:27Speaker 6: strike to Ret McGrew.
- 2:24:28Speaker 4: No shock of the score for Hurricane there. Their offense
- 2:24:30Speaker 4: has been doing that all season long, through three games.
- 2:24:33Speaker 4: But what really has been, as we've pointed out all night,
- 2:24:35Speaker 4: has been Hurricanes defense came to this game with a
- 2:24:38Speaker 4: mission and they accomplished it. Parkersburg has only been able
- 2:24:42Speaker 4: offensively to find the end zone one time tonight. The
- 2:24:45Speaker 4: other one was a special team's touchdown, and for all
- 2:24:48Speaker 4: intents and purposes, Hurricanes defense has train wrecked everything Parkersburg
- 2:24:52Speaker 4: has tried to do. But pretty much they've been handing
- 2:24:55Speaker 4: it to Shelton and that's been the offense all right.
- 2:24:58Speaker 4: Here comes Hurricane lining up to kick it. Ball is
- 2:25:00Speaker 4: in the air. They assessed the flag at the end
- 2:25:03Speaker 4: of the play on the kickoff, so it is returned
- 2:25:07Speaker 4: up to the forty five, turning it up to midfield
- 2:25:10Speaker 4: and hauling it in and bringing it ahead as Hunter
- 2:25:13Speaker 4: levitts he gets over the fifty yard line.
- 2:25:17Speaker 3: I thought that they said the flag was.
- 2:25:19Speaker 4: Against Parkersburg must have been, but it must not have been,
- 2:25:23Speaker 4: because it looked to me like they assessed it against Hurricane,
- 2:25:27Speaker 4: So I think when he made the call after we
- 2:25:29Speaker 4: had gone to the break, I looked and he pointed
- 2:25:31Speaker 4: toward Parkersburg. I think he pointed the wrong way. So nevertheless,
- 2:25:35Speaker 4: it's first and ten for Parkersburg at Hurricanes' forty eight
- 2:25:38Speaker 4: yard line, five twenty four to go here in the
- 2:25:40Speaker 4: fourth quarter. Coming up after our game Metro News Game
- 2:25:44Speaker 4: Night tonight, as we told you, big win for Herbert
- 2:25:46Speaker 4: Hoover down at Nitro tonight, an overtime victory thirteen to seven.
- 2:25:51Speaker 4: Dave and Fred will have more on that one on
- 2:25:53Speaker 4: game Night after our broadcast. New quarterback into the game
- 2:25:57Speaker 4: throws it and it was nearly intercepted. Check who is
- 2:26:00Speaker 4: that new signal caller in? That's gonna be Tyler Cameron
- 2:26:04Speaker 4: who comes in here in the fourth quarter and mop
- 2:26:07Speaker 4: up duty for the Big Reds. Cameron was really running
- 2:26:10Speaker 4: for his life there through it and darn near threw
- 2:26:12Speaker 4: it into the hands of a waiting Hurricane defender, but
- 2:26:16Speaker 4: he dropped it.
- 2:26:17Speaker 6: That was almost the second potential pick six on a screenplay.
- 2:26:20Speaker 6: If that ball would have been caught for an interception,
- 2:26:23Speaker 6: would have been tough to catch him going down the field.
- 2:26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I think, uh, I think the one who almost
- 2:26:28Speaker 4: had that one. No, I can't see him over there.
- 2:26:32Speaker 4: Here we go, Cameron takes it, has trouble, hands it off,
- 2:26:38Speaker 4: and they're gonna hit him right there immediately. Let's see
- 2:26:40Speaker 4: if they got somebody new into the game or was
- 2:26:43Speaker 4: that still Sheldon? That was not Sheldon new runner into
- 2:26:47Speaker 4: the game. For the Big Reds, there is Dalyon Evans,
- 2:26:52Speaker 4: So Dalleon Evans is now in there. As it looks
- 2:26:55Speaker 4: like Matt Comes has called off the dogs and has
- 2:26:57Speaker 4: put in his backups and looked like that's what Hurricane
- 2:27:00Speaker 4: is doing as well.
- 2:27:01Speaker 6: Yeah, it looks like most of the starters for the
- 2:27:04Speaker 6: Hurricane defense is out except for Jolly Burnett. Looks like
- 2:27:06Speaker 6: he's calling for a sub though, if one can get
- 2:27:10Speaker 6: out there.
- 2:27:11Speaker 4: He's over here on the far side. Nobody can see him.
- 2:27:14Speaker 4: Third down and eleven. Now for the Big Reds, you'll
- 2:27:17Speaker 4: have to bear with me, is I'm gonna have to
- 2:27:18Speaker 4: go from the chart to the roster. Now. Tyler Cameron
- 2:27:21Speaker 4: the quarterback snap low snap, picks it up and is
- 2:27:25Speaker 4: crushed immediately loses about four yards.
- 2:27:30Speaker 6: That looked like Lusher again.
- 2:27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Lusher's still out. There banging around. They've not pulled
- 2:27:34Speaker 3: him yet.
- 2:27:35Speaker 6: I don't think you could rip him off the field.
- 2:27:37Speaker 6: He probably wants to stay out there.
- 2:27:38Speaker 4: I'm sure he's fighting it fighting. He's probably trying to
- 2:27:41Speaker 4: hide so nobody can see him. He's still in there.
- 2:27:43Speaker 4: He looked over. They didn't call for him, so he's
- 2:27:45Speaker 4: still in there. Big Darien Davis went to the sideline.
- 2:27:48Speaker 4: His day is done.
- 2:27:49Speaker 3: Three thirty four to go.
- 2:27:50Speaker 4: Here in the fourth period, Parkersburg lining up to punt it,
- 2:27:53Speaker 4: so they had to leave him in there for special teams.
- 2:27:55Speaker 4: Here comes the rush. Kick is in the air. Better
- 2:27:57Speaker 4: kick this time for Parkersburg. As it takes a Parkersburg role,
- 2:28:01Speaker 4: goes down inside the Hurricane twenty yard line to the nineteen,
- 2:28:03Speaker 4: to the eighteen, to the seventeen, and that's where it
- 2:28:06Speaker 4: will be down three seventeen to go. Here in the ballgame,
- 2:28:09Speaker 4: Hurricane in total control. They have been since it was
- 2:28:13Speaker 4: fourteen to fourteen. They got a score late in the
- 2:28:18Speaker 4: second period, winning in the locker room with a touchdown lead,
- 2:28:21Speaker 4: then came out and it has been nothing but Hurricane
- 2:28:24Speaker 4: since halftime. They have scored repeatedly. They have scored with
- 2:28:28Speaker 4: ease and defensively, they have shut down everything Parkersburg has
- 2:28:33Speaker 4: tried to throw at them.
- 2:28:34Speaker 6: And we've seen Hurricans offense score at ease against some
- 2:28:36Speaker 6: of the better teams, at least Huntington, one of the
- 2:28:38Speaker 6: better teams in quaid A Spring Valley, likely the best
- 2:28:40Speaker 6: team in Triple A or at least a top three team.
- 2:28:44Speaker 6: The offense carrying its weight again, but the defense coming
- 2:28:46Speaker 6: up big.
- 2:28:47Speaker 4: Bella Tomby's still in there and AJ Gregory is back.
- 2:28:50Speaker 4: As they handed off to Gregory, he pushes forward ahead
- 2:28:52Speaker 4: to the twenty yard line, goes Gregory, gonna pick up
- 2:28:55Speaker 4: about three on the play. It'll be second down and
- 2:28:59Speaker 4: seven for the Redskins. As the clock winds at two
- 2:29:01Speaker 4: forty five, Vella Tomby taking his time, and this is
- 2:29:06Speaker 4: unnatural for this Hurricane offense to be standing around waiting. Normally,
- 2:29:10Speaker 4: Vala Tomby would have run three plays in this particular
- 2:29:14Speaker 4: sequence that he's looking over to get the play in
- 2:29:16Speaker 4: from Donny Mays Tommy.
- 2:29:18Speaker 6: I don't think he knows what to do with himself
- 2:29:19Speaker 6: at this point.
- 2:29:20Speaker 4: Exactly all of them, they're all just like standing around,
- 2:29:22Speaker 4: like what do we do here? Bella Tomby looks at
- 2:29:24Speaker 4: the clock now he looks over the defense. He's got
- 2:29:28Speaker 4: AJ Gregory to his ride. He's milking every bit of
- 2:29:30Speaker 4: time down on the play clock that's now inside of ten.
- 2:29:33Speaker 3: Takes the snap, hands it to Gregory. Gregory coming to
- 2:29:36Speaker 3: the left.
- 2:29:36Speaker 4: Side, turns the corner, gets behind the block up over
- 2:29:38Speaker 4: the thirty makes ooh, hits a man. Hard pushes ahead
- 2:29:41Speaker 4: to the thirty five yard line. Wicked lick that time.
- 2:29:45Speaker 4: AJ Gregory, I think he gave as good as he
- 2:29:48Speaker 4: got that time to jove L Chandler, and Chandler met
- 2:29:53Speaker 4: him head on first down run four.
- 2:29:58Speaker 6: AJ and Gregor. He is quick, but we've seen in
- 2:30:01Speaker 6: the first two games. He can lower his shoulder. He
- 2:30:03Speaker 6: can be physical. He not Kylin Grace Lovel, but he's
- 2:30:06Speaker 6: physical and he would be a starting running back in
- 2:30:08Speaker 6: a water schools here in West Virginia.
- 2:30:10Speaker 3: Well through middle school he was a tackle.
- 2:30:13Speaker 4: So I could see that go figure that ball at
- 2:30:16Speaker 4: the thirty seven yard line, first and ten for Hurrican,
- 2:30:20Speaker 4: just trying to roll out the clock. Here at a
- 2:30:21Speaker 4: minute twenty four, back to Bella Tomb. He gives it
- 2:30:25Speaker 4: to Gregory again. Gregory, I'm going to pick up a
- 2:30:27Speaker 4: couple this time. He stopped. Actually he didn't get a couple.
- 2:30:32Speaker 4: He got about one, but it's all academic. At this point.
- 2:30:36Speaker 4: As the clock rolls one oh seven, we're about to
- 2:30:40Speaker 4: go inside of a minute. Pretty much everything is done
- 2:30:44Speaker 4: here tonight except playing out this last sixty seconds and
- 2:30:48Speaker 4: Bella Tomby is taking his time. They actually run a
- 2:30:53Speaker 4: couple of new players in for Hurricane and Vella Tomby.
- 2:30:56Speaker 4: I wouldn't call it a huddle. He just kind of
- 2:30:58Speaker 4: muddle huddles him. And now he's telling them that get
- 2:31:00Speaker 4: up there on the line. We're getting closed. The play
- 2:31:01Speaker 4: clocks at thirteen, the game clock at forty two, and
- 2:31:05Speaker 4: really all we're doing now is just counting it down.
- 2:31:08Speaker 4: Coming up after the broadcast, we'll go to Morgantown. Dave
- 2:31:11Speaker 4: and Fred will have Metro News Game Night for you.
- 2:31:14Speaker 4: Snap back and Ville of toime be he's gonna take
- 2:31:16Speaker 4: a knee, and now we're inside of thirty seconds, and
- 2:31:19Speaker 4: that should do it. As Hurricane is gonna win big
- 2:31:22Speaker 4: tonight over Parkersburg forty nine to fourteen to go to
- 2:31:27Speaker 4: two to one on the season. Your final score is
- 2:31:31Speaker 4: the last second stick off the clock. Hurricane beats Parkersburg

- 2:33:42Speaker 4: of this game. Not so much the offense. They performed
- 2:33:45Speaker 4: about like they had been all along. It was the
- 2:33:47Speaker 4: play of the Hurricane defense that really stepped up, allowing
- 2:33:50Speaker 4: only one offensive touchdown throughout the night. And that was
- 2:33:55Speaker 4: a big emphasis this week in practice for the Hurricane
- 2:33:58Speaker 4: coaching staff, and I think they got a they got

- 2:34:16Speaker 4: Tom Bragg and Matt Guitar Murphy on the call as

- 2:34:31Speaker 6: It was a quarterback keeper that just kept going and
- 2:34:34Speaker 6: the Hurlard Hoover Huskies have won the ball game.
- 2:34:37Speaker 4: Dane Hatfield twelve yards on the quarterback keeper with.
- 2:34:41Speaker 6: The walk off touchdown in overtime.
- 2:34:44Speaker 4: Tom Bragg with the call over on Naughty six to

- 2:34:49Speaker 4: loss for Nitro down there at Underwood Field. Well, any
- 2:34:54Speaker 4: final thoughts there.
- 2:34:55Speaker 6: Partner, Like you said, Chris, the defense for Hurricane stepped
- 2:34:58Speaker 6: up the offense. You know where you're going to get.
- 2:35:00Speaker 6: Your going to get lots of talent and lots of

- 2:35:09Speaker 6: passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown today. Last week he had
- 2:35:12Speaker 6: three rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. And Kylon Grace
- 2:35:16Speaker 6: was great a twenty two yard score and an eighty
- 2:35:18Speaker 6: one yard scamper down the sideline. But the Hurricane defense,
- 2:35:21Speaker 6: led by upperclassmen Joey Keano and sophomore step Stephan Lusher,
- 2:35:26Speaker 6: they were all over the field. They were having their
- 2:35:28Speaker 6: way with the Parkersburg offensive line and with the quarterback there,
- 2:35:33Speaker 6: and with not a very big playbook for Parkersburg, the
- 2:35:37Speaker 6: Redskins were able to.
- 2:35:37Speaker 4: Eat, indeed, and they ate well tonight. All right. Next weekend,
- 2:35:42Speaker 4: Hurricane will be on the road at DeWitt, Michigan. That's right,
- 2:35:45Speaker 4: they're going all the way to Michigan to play the
- 2:35:48Speaker 4: game next Friday night. Unfortunately, that is not a trip
- 2:35:51Speaker 4: that we will be able to make, so we will
- 2:35:53Speaker 4: not be on the air with you after that. But
- 2:35:56Speaker 4: the following week they have CABL Midland and Home. We'll
- 2:35:58Speaker 4: be back on the air with the one. So in
- 2:36:00Speaker 4: two two weeks we will talk to you as we
- 2:36:04Speaker 4: tell you again. The final score to nine for the
- 2:36:05Speaker 4: Hurricane Redskins, winning on the road and going to two
- 2:36:08Speaker 4: and one on the season over Parkersburg forty nine to
- 2:36:11Speaker 4: fourteen for Aaron Parker and our producer Dale Cooper.
