Latest / Tea Time w/Amie & Bev / Episode #339: Stop Feeding the Chaos, Start Choosing Your Peace
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey everybody, welcome to Tea Time with Amy and Bev.
- 0:05Speaker 1: We're round two.
- 0:09Speaker 2: How are you doing?
- 0:12Speaker 1: I'm doing pretty good. I took on a big project
- 0:15Speaker 1: that's going to take me several months and I'm not
- 0:17Speaker 1: ready to talk about it, but just know something big
- 0:20Speaker 1: is coming. So how's that? I like it.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I like it. Well, like we were talking about in
- 0:25Speaker 2: our previous video, it's like enjoying the journey. So it's
- 0:28Speaker 2: finding this path. It is, it's finding this, it's enjoying
- 0:33Speaker 2: this path really.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And, and so, um, so I'm not going to talk
- 0:38Speaker 1: about that yet, but just know it's in the works. Um,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but there's another project that I can talk about that
- 0:50Speaker 1: is being launched right now. And I, I am, um,
- 0:57Speaker 1: I'm kinda, I'm kinda done. kind of done with the FB,
- 1:04Speaker 1: social media. I get on there and a lot of
- 1:10Speaker 1: times what I'm looking for is people I know, what
- 1:14Speaker 1: they're up to, you know, give them kudos, celebrate them, whatever.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But when one in like 20 posts is a person
- 1:23Speaker 1: I know, I've got on there and I have scrolled
- 1:26Speaker 1: and scrolled and scrolled until I I see a person like,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and that's a lot of scrolling to see one, one person,
- 1:32Speaker 1: you know? Um, so, and then there's the algorithms. So
- 1:38Speaker 1: when you do post in, uh, social media, it, um,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I have 300, over 300 people in my, in a
- 1:48Speaker 1: private group, private group. That is not the mass of
- 1:51Speaker 1: the whole of the entire platform, a private group, just
- 1:57Speaker 1: over 300 people. And if 1% see my posts, so
- 2:04Speaker 1: three people, right? So I just like this, this, it's
- 2:12Speaker 1: a free platform and I appreciate that so much and
- 2:14Speaker 1: I can use it to, you know, put events on
- 2:17Speaker 1: there and things like that. But it's just, it's a
- 2:23Speaker 1: lot of work to connect with people. So I've created
- 2:30Speaker 1: a community on a different platform. It's called school. It's
- 2:34Speaker 1: S K O O L. And I'm actually after, um, well,
- 2:39Speaker 1: the first post on it, cause again, I do have
- 2:42Speaker 1: to use social media at this time to get it
- 2:45Speaker 1: out there. Um, but my first post as we speak
- 2:49Speaker 1: will be in about 10 minutes. It's scheduled to announce
- 2:53Speaker 1: that group. Um, And so when we get done with
- 2:57Speaker 1: our recordings, I'm going to go into social media in
- 3:00Speaker 1: my private group and do a Facebook live about it.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But this group is just us, right? It's just the
- 3:11Speaker 1: people in it. So if they have the app and
- 3:18Speaker 1: they go in there, they're going to see the posts.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It's not going to be lost in a sea of
- 3:22Speaker 1: everything else. Um, and then I can give more attention
- 3:27Speaker 1: to those that are in there and know that they
- 3:30Speaker 1: will be able to see it like right now. So anyway,
- 3:35Speaker 1: that has been in the works since July. It is
- 3:38Speaker 1: now October. Um, so that's a relief to have that
- 3:43Speaker 1: going and then, you know, all the other things of
- 3:47Speaker 1: setting up other classes and, and workshops and stuff. So That,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like we talked before in the previous video, it's a
- 3:57Speaker 1: lot and it can create overwhelm for me. But again,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I use my notebook. I write down all the things
- 4:04Speaker 1: I need to do and I prioritize what is most
- 4:08Speaker 1: important to get done right now. So that's how I
- 4:11Speaker 1: stay focused. Also making sure I limit my time scrolling
- 4:19Speaker 1: for one. Because that can be an energy and time sucker.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Don't turn on the TV. Like, really, what are the
- 4:30Speaker 1: things that are causing distractions? One thing I had to do,
- 4:34Speaker 1: because I have so much going on, that a friend,
- 4:42Speaker 1: some friends of ours had a big, they have a
- 4:44Speaker 1: huge barbecue twice a year. And I know that's an
- 4:48Speaker 1: all day thing. It's an all day thing. And I
- 4:52Speaker 1: would not be fully present. I told my husband, I'm
- 4:55Speaker 1: not going. I said, I need the day. I need
- 4:59Speaker 1: these two days of this weekend to take care of
- 5:02Speaker 1: the things that I have going on because I have
- 5:04Speaker 1: some big projects coming up and I need to get
- 5:07Speaker 1: some stuff done. And so I had to make that
- 5:14Speaker 1: decision because I knew even if I went, I wouldn't
- 5:17Speaker 1: be present with these people. I would be thinking, I
- 5:21Speaker 1: need to be home. I need to be working on
- 5:22Speaker 1: my stuff. Because actually the stuff that I do is
- 5:26Speaker 1: joyful to me. It's fun. I like doing it. That's
- 5:28Speaker 1: my creativity. That's where my excitement and joy is. That's
- 5:33Speaker 1: where I feel my purpose is. Like all the things, right?
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's all in this package. And it's to sit with
- 5:43Speaker 1: the same people, pretty much having the same conversations every
- 5:47Speaker 1: time we get together. it's not exciting to me. And
- 5:54Speaker 1: I would have seriously been thinking about all the time
- 5:58Speaker 1: I was there that I could use that time for
- 6:01Speaker 1: getting some things done. Because I could be, if I
- 6:05Speaker 1: allowed myself to be, I could be in that space
- 6:08Speaker 1: of overwhelm. Do we need to have time for ourselves? Absolutely.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Do we need to spend time and build relationships with people? Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I think I'm more in that space right now that
- 6:22Speaker 1: my circle is very small. We've had this conversation. My
- 6:24Speaker 1: circle is very small. And I'm more into having meaningful
- 6:28Speaker 1: conversations beyond the surfacy conversations. And that's like, I want
- 6:37Speaker 1: to be in my space to be creative because it's fun.
- 6:42Speaker 1: That's my fun. That's my joy. I hear you. I concur.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You concur. Okay. You understand. So, you know, my husband gone,
- 6:54Speaker 1: it was gone for over, I don't know, probably 13
- 6:56Speaker 1: hours yesterday. And all day I was, you know, I
- 7:01Speaker 1: took time to eat and stuff, but all day I
- 7:03Speaker 1: was doing, doing my list and, and it was felt good.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And I was like, just had the space of quiet time,
- 7:10Speaker 1: just me doing my thing. And I was like, it,
- 7:14Speaker 1: By the end of the day, I felt good about
- 7:16Speaker 1: it and I felt relief. And I'm going to do
- 7:19Speaker 1: it again today. You know, we're doing the recording. I'm
- 7:23Speaker 1: going to go on and do a Facebook live and
- 7:24Speaker 1: do that really a soft launch for this new community.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And then I have like my big project I want
- 7:33Speaker 1: to spend two or three hours on today. And then
- 7:35Speaker 1: some little tasks that I could get done. So it's
- 7:38Speaker 1: just like, like, you know, you got to create that
- 7:42Speaker 1: space for yourself to have a breath. Yeah, you do.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And it's also noticing, just like you were talking about
- 7:50Speaker 2: the platform FB, I have removed my massage information off there.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I have gotten phone calls at midnight seeing if I
- 8:00Speaker 2: was available for a massage.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't do that kind of massage.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So anybody you think is going to be doing, I mean,
- 8:05Speaker 2: and it's been a few times, so I just removed it.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But I've also recognized it's, utilize it for what it's
- 8:12Speaker 2: worth anymore.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Whatever the platform is.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And for that, it's advertising.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That is advertising. Really, it is.
- 8:21Speaker 2: And it's not very, and I heard someone else, because
- 8:23Speaker 2: I was listening to a video and he talked about
- 8:25Speaker 2: like how he would make money and all these other
- 8:27Speaker 2: things and how he would supplement his income or whatever
- 8:30Speaker 2: he was talking about. But he says, you advertise on
- 8:32Speaker 2: that platform. So that's what it's became popular for. And
- 8:36Speaker 2: it's brought a lot of, and he's like, you test
- 8:38Speaker 2: it out. That's like, you're talking about doing the soft thing. Well,
- 8:41Speaker 2: you can test something out on that platform and see
- 8:46Speaker 2: what kind of hits it gets. And if it doesn't
- 8:48Speaker 2: get the hits you're hoping on, then you go back
- 8:50Speaker 2: to the, you know, back to the drawing board and
- 8:52Speaker 2: figure out how, what you want to do to tweak
- 8:54Speaker 2: this or how you can tweak it to where it
- 8:56Speaker 2: isn't going to be more useful for somebody else. And
- 8:58Speaker 2: then put that advertising up. So there's opportunities. It's just
- 9:02Speaker 2: using things for what they're useful for. They're not the same.
- 9:06Speaker 2: They don't have the same use that they used to,
- 9:07Speaker 2: because I understand what you're talking about. Not being, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 2: scrolling through and not seeing half of the people that
- 9:13Speaker 2: Who are these people? What is this advertising thing? Where
- 9:16Speaker 2: are the friends? Where are their posts at? Because if
- 9:20Speaker 2: I'm not seeing their posts, they're not seeing my posts.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was on it yesterday. I got on there. And
- 9:32Speaker 1: I saw a post from somebody that I've known for
- 9:36Speaker 1: several years. This is the first time I've seen their
- 9:40Speaker 1: posts online. And I don't know how many years. I'm
- 9:44Speaker 1: not kidding. It's been years since I've seen anything posted
- 9:47Speaker 1: from them. And I'm like, wow, why are they showing
- 9:51Speaker 1: up on my feed now? This is interesting. Cause I
- 9:54Speaker 1: don't know. So it's things like that. Like we're connected
- 9:58Speaker 1: to people, but we're all out in the sea of
- 10:02Speaker 1: social media land of billions of people. And you don't
- 10:08Speaker 1: know who's seeing what. And then with all the, the
- 10:13Speaker 1: division of, of things of countries, of our politics and,
- 10:19Speaker 1: all the untruths of things that one side wants you
- 10:24Speaker 1: to think their way, the other side wants you to
- 10:26Speaker 1: think their way. And then there's the news that's not
- 10:30Speaker 1: giving you the full story, just the clips. And it's
- 10:32Speaker 1: just all those things that are just running through my
- 10:36Speaker 1: feed that I'm just like, no, thank you. Is it
- 10:43Speaker 1: important for us to know what's happening in our world
- 10:46Speaker 1: or even in our neighborhood? Yeah, I think it is. However,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't need to be consumed by it. And that's
- 10:55Speaker 1: just a lot of the stuff that shows up now.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And I'm just like, I need to create some distance.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So it's gravitating again to the things that feel good.
- 11:07Speaker 2: It really is. It's not that it's an ignoring of,
- 11:11Speaker 2: but it's gravitating to what feels good. Because if I
- 11:13Speaker 2: can do what feels good for myself, you're giving permission
- 11:16Speaker 2: to someone else to do what feels good. And then
- 11:18Speaker 2: that's contagious. Next thing you know, we're all doing something
- 11:20Speaker 2: that feels good and there's no separation any longer. Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And interesting, interesting enough, the community that I've created is
- 11:28Speaker 1: called the deep exhale. Nice. And you know, it's like
- 11:33Speaker 1: when you, when you separate yourself from all the chaos,
- 11:41Speaker 1: the mental, emotional chaos, it's like you finally have a
- 11:45Speaker 1: space to exhale. Take a breath and just let it be.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And that's what this is about.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Nice.
- 11:55Speaker 1: All the weight we're carrying, weight, mental, emotional weight that
- 11:58Speaker 1: we're carrying. It's like be able to take a breath
- 12:01Speaker 1: and just lay it down for a moment. Regroup, reconnect, reevaluate,
- 12:08Speaker 1: whatever it is you need to do. And then, right?
- 12:12Speaker 1: So that's, yeah, just moving in a new direction. I
- 12:18Speaker 1: feel really good about it and we'll see where it
- 12:21Speaker 1: goes from there. It is a free platform too. It's
- 12:24Speaker 1: a free group. So deep exhale. I like it.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And again, it's an opportunity for people to gain information.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It's gaining new tools, gaining new perspectives. relief in life.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Like it's recognizing we don't have to be in fight
- 12:48Speaker 2: or flight. It's not about survival. If it's still about survival,
- 12:51Speaker 2: then like, how can your life be more thriving?
- 12:54Speaker 1: And that, and that's, those are internal questions.
- 12:56Speaker 2: That's not something that someone else can answer for you,
- 12:59Speaker 2: but you can ask and then go into your group
- 13:01Speaker 2: and it's like, you'll get the information.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It's just going to be right there.
- 13:03Speaker 2: It's just setting yourself up to receive that information.
- 13:08Speaker 1: What are you focused on? What are you allowing in? Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 1: And when, when, um, When we change our energy, then
- 13:17Speaker 1: the energy that we're emanating changes. And when you're all
- 13:22Speaker 1: wrapped up in the chaos and you're having a chaotic energy,
- 13:25Speaker 1: when you're having that moment of a deep exhale and
- 13:29Speaker 1: relaxing into your being, then it's a different energy flow
- 13:35Speaker 1: that's going out into your environment. And that's what I
- 13:39Speaker 1: want to help create for other people. I know what
- 13:42Speaker 1: it feels like. I know what it's like. I know
- 13:45Speaker 1: the journey to get there can be a little bumpy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: And how can I help people get there? I like it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I like it. And when we take the time to
- 14:03Speaker 1: allow ourselves to relax, we actually handle life better. So
- 14:07Speaker 1: as we were talking about overwhelm, when we relax into
- 14:13Speaker 1: our life, we don't get in that space or not
- 14:18Speaker 1: as an intense sense of overwhelm. We can take a
- 14:21Speaker 1: breath and go, okay, so I said, okay, I'm gonna
- 14:24Speaker 1: take a breath. I'm looking at my huge page of
- 14:27Speaker 1: lists of to do. And all right, well, what can
- 14:31Speaker 1: I do right now? Right? I'm not all like in frenzy. Like,
- 14:35Speaker 1: oh my God, I got all this to know. It's like, okay,
- 14:37Speaker 1: what can I do now? And then that gives me
- 14:42Speaker 1: a different way of handling situations, even just life situations.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Take a breath. Okay. What's the next step? Right. Like
- 14:59Speaker 1: you can take a situation and make it this big,
- 15:02Speaker 1: huge story. And every time you tell the story gets
- 15:04Speaker 1: bigger and bigger and bigger, but it's like, okay, well
- 15:08Speaker 1: really we're just in an experience where, What's the solution?
- 15:13Speaker 1: What's the next step? Because we can talk about how
- 15:17Speaker 1: it happened, who's involved, what they did. Well, okay, can't
- 15:23Speaker 1: change it. This is an experience. What's the solution? What's
- 15:30Speaker 1: the next step? Like, you just feel my body. You
- 15:33Speaker 1: see my body. You just go, okay. I'm not all
- 15:36Speaker 1: tense and agitated and everything. It's just like, let's just
- 15:39Speaker 1: pull back. Let's look at it and let's just see
- 15:44Speaker 1: if we can move in a direction where this might
- 15:45Speaker 1: smooth out a little. I think that would feel a
- 15:48Speaker 1: lot better to everybody. Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: And you're not trying to control it. You're setting yourself
- 15:54Speaker 2: up to go in the flow of things.
- 15:58Speaker 1: And it's okay. Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's like trying to go to one of the parks,
- 16:02Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Riding a roller coaster and
- 16:04Speaker 2: trying to control it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Good luck. Yeah. Once you're on, you're on. Yeah. hang
- 16:09Speaker 1: on for dealer life and try to steer that bar
- 16:11Speaker 1: that's across your lap, but you're going to go where
- 16:14Speaker 1: that roller coaster is going to take you. You enjoy
- 16:16Speaker 1: the ride because you got on it or scream your
- 16:21Speaker 1: head off and be frantic either way, whatever.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah. And the, you know, the people that actually enjoy
- 16:30Speaker 1: are the ones that are throwing their hands up and
- 16:32Speaker 1: laughing and smiling and And the ones that are being,
- 16:37Speaker 1: you know, just put through the ringer, the ones that
- 16:39Speaker 1: are bracing that, that bar and holding on very tightly
- 16:43Speaker 1: and tensing their body. And, and yeah, it's, it's the
- 16:48Speaker 1: same ride, different perspectives. A hundred percent. And that's life, right?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Life is like that. We came into this life and
- 16:58Speaker 1: you're thinking this is going to be smooth as no, no. Sorry, no,
- 17:03Speaker 1: I don't know anybody who has had just the most
- 17:06Speaker 1: smooth life ever with no bumps or bruises. So I
- 17:13Speaker 1: don't mean bruises as an actual physical bruises, like struggles
- 17:16Speaker 1: and experiences that might have caused some strife. So it's like, yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 1: it's been a bumpy ride. And here I am. Did
- 17:33Speaker 1: I kick and scream along the way? Absolutely did. A
- 17:36Speaker 1: thousand percent. A thousand percent kicked and screamed all the way.
- 17:41Speaker 1: But now I'm on that other side of putting my
- 17:46Speaker 1: hands up and enjoying the ride because I know the
- 17:49Speaker 1: benefits of what I'm going to experience is going to
- 17:51Speaker 1: outweigh the actual experience. I like that. Perspective. that's a
- 18:01Speaker 1: whole nother topic so it totally is not ready for
- 18:09Speaker 1: that topic yet because because we don't want to go
- 18:13Speaker 1: we could be here for all day we got things
- 18:15Speaker 1: to do i got a list of news.
- 18:17Speaker 2: That's right manifestation time it's giving me so much different
- 18:21Speaker 2: information though to um for my next part of my
- 18:25Speaker 2: day how i'm going to manage things for the next
- 18:27Speaker 2: part of my day so i like that.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Cool but enjoy us doing this. So we, you know,
- 18:38Speaker 1: it was bringing value to not only each other, but
- 18:41Speaker 1: to the people who are listening. Of course we embrace
- 18:46Speaker 1: and appreciate those who do listen because, you know, that's
- 18:49Speaker 1: time that they can't get back out of their day
- 18:51Speaker 1: or their life. And they gave it to us, even
- 18:55Speaker 1: though it's a recording. And I do the same for
- 18:58Speaker 1: when I listen to podcasts, it's like, I'm giving my
- 19:01Speaker 1: time to, to listening to somebody else and I just
- 19:08Speaker 1: recently I was listening to a podcaster and he said
- 19:13Speaker 1: you know even though it's it's people call it free
- 19:17Speaker 1: content it's not free content it's not free content you
- 19:21Speaker 1: and I are giving our time and energy we're giving
- 19:22Speaker 1: our time to do this and then whoever listens to
- 19:28Speaker 1: it is giving their time to listen and so it's
- 19:33Speaker 1: not free content just so everybody is clear it's not
- 19:37Speaker 1: free content okay um so however you don't have to
- 19:45Speaker 1: pay for it you do have to pay for it
- 19:46Speaker 1: through your time and energy and focus so just keeping
- 19:50Speaker 1: that in mind um also there are other people that
- 19:53Speaker 1: you know that are having you know internal dialogue questions
- 19:59Speaker 1: uh seeking you know direction and So if you're getting
- 20:02Speaker 1: anything out of our content, please share it with them.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And I say anybody you listen to or anything that
- 20:07Speaker 1: resonates with you, please share it with people so that
- 20:10Speaker 1: they can benefit from it as well. You can find
- 20:14Speaker 1: us on many platforms. We're on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify,
- 20:18Speaker 1: Podcast Attic, and Spreaker. So any of those platforms, you
- 20:23Speaker 1: could connect with us. Any last words? I would say.
- 20:29Speaker 2: follow the value, like anything that brings value to your life.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And so to me, if you're listening to this, it may,
- 20:34Speaker 2: it does cost you your time, but are you getting value?
- 20:37Speaker 2: Is there an ebb and flow? Is there a give
- 20:38Speaker 2: and take that you're getting from the time that you're
- 20:40Speaker 2: spending with things? And if you're listening to something that
- 20:43Speaker 2: doesn't feel like it's giving you value, then move on
- 20:45Speaker 2: to the next thing.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I like to set myself up. I might ask Yeshua.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I might ask my higher self, like what message do
- 20:51Speaker 2: you have for me right now? And then I'll refresh
- 20:53Speaker 2: and I'll use YouTube as an example. I'll refresh the
- 20:56Speaker 2: page and whatever pops up on the top of that,
- 20:58Speaker 2: That screen I know is a message for me and
- 21:00Speaker 2: I'll listen to it to the point where it'll say
- 21:03Speaker 2: things like, well, maybe you're going to choose to wear
- 21:05Speaker 2: red and green today because it's going to bring you
- 21:08Speaker 2: luck and stuff. And I look down, I don't usually
- 21:10Speaker 2: wear red and green, but yesterday I was wearing red
- 21:12Speaker 2: and green and that was the message that I heard.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And it's like, those are just confirmations that this is
- 21:16Speaker 2: the message. It's telling me again, I asked for the
- 21:20Speaker 2: universe to bring me a message and this is the
- 21:22Speaker 2: message that's coming forward and it's giving me confirmation that.
- 21:25Speaker 1: It is a message for me.
- 21:27Speaker 2: So it's like it's just taking the time to set
- 21:29Speaker 2: yourself up with that information.
- 21:32Speaker 1: That's cool. I like that. All right, friends. Thanks for
- 21:35Speaker 1: hanging out with us. Tea time with Amy and Bev.
- 21:37Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. See you next time.
