- 0:10Speaker 1: This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right,
- 0:13Speaker 1: this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced
- 0:15Speaker 1: with profanity even more than usual. If you're not comfortable
- 0:18Speaker 1: with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode
- 0:21Speaker 1: for you. But we have many other episodes to choose
- 0:24Speaker 1: from that do not feature Misty and will probably be
- 0:26Speaker 1: far less offensive. Okay, maybe. With that having been said,
- 0:31Speaker 1: on with the show.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:02Speaker 3: More cooling in the containment chamber.
- 1:03Speaker 1: To your stations, we have a rebound.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I'm not gonna get any cold.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Oh no, no.
- 1:10Speaker 6: This is probably a little drive-in dust.
- 1:13Speaker 7: Let's Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like
- 1:31Speaker 7: to see something strange?
- 1:33Speaker 5: Come Memphis and you will see, this our town of Halloween.
- 1:38Speaker 4: This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Home can sleep in
- 1:41Speaker 4: the dead of night.
- 1:42Speaker 1: This is Halloween, everybody make a scene.
- 1:44Speaker 7: Chick or G, don't make me, it's gonna die of fright.
- 1:46Speaker 4: This our town of Halloween.
- 1:48Speaker 7: Come Memphis and you will see, this our.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Town of Halloween. What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I'm Brian.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I'm Misty.
- 1:59Speaker 8: I'm Christian.
- 2:00Speaker 9: And I'm Bill.
- 2:01Speaker 5: We are coming to you live via digital recording from
- 2:04Speaker 5: the Georgetown drive-in. Right in the middle of the action.
- 2:08Speaker 5: We're here. It's intermission time. We thought we were heading
- 2:11Speaker 5: into October. We usually take over October with a whole
- 2:15Speaker 5: bunch of creepy Halloween themed episodes anyway. So I thought
- 2:19Speaker 5: we're here at the creepy horror themed drive-in. So we
- 2:22Speaker 5: needed a creepy drive-in episode.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Cool beans.
- 2:25Speaker 5: How's it been for you so far?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Pretty spooky.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Just the food you ate?
- 2:30Speaker 10: Yes.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Did you want to run down of your cheeseburgers?
- 2:33Speaker 4: I had some candy.
- 2:34Speaker 5: We haven't had a lot of candy.
- 2:35Speaker 4: I had way more candy than I probably should have
- 2:37Speaker 4: consumed in one day. I've eaten a lot of cookies.
- 2:40Speaker 8: So many cookies.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I've only eaten one so far. I need to get
- 2:42Speaker 4: some more before I go back to the car.
- 2:43Speaker 8: They're right there.
- 2:44Speaker 9: What about your apple Twizzlers?
- 2:46Speaker 4: Those were disgusting.
- 2:47Speaker 8: Not terrible.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I liked them. I don't care what you say.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Gritty.
- 2:51Speaker 8: Gritty.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I like the grittiness.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Jeremiah was like, there was no gritty. I'm like, what
- 2:55Speaker 4: are you talking about? Are you retarded?
- 2:56Speaker 8: It's not really that gritty.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It was very gritty.
- 2:59Speaker 5: It's got a squishy inside.
- 3:01Speaker 8: Well, it was way squishy on the outside and then
- 3:03Speaker 8: like pure brown sugar in the middle.
- 3:05Speaker 4: It was gross.
- 3:05Speaker 5: There ain't nothing wrong with pure sugar.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Brown sugar.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Damn straight.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I need to get a high five for that one. Yeah, girl.
- 3:15Speaker 4: You guys are such dorks.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I just like some brown sugar.
- 3:20Speaker 4: The pumpkin spice.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Yeah, the Hershey Kisses pumpkin spice.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Those are quite weird.
- 3:26Speaker 9: That's my favorite one in the band.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Is it?
- 3:30Speaker 8: No.
- 3:31Speaker 5: You know you like ginger, don't you?
- 3:33Speaker 4: I'm partial to Posh myself.
- 3:35Speaker 9: I'm partial to Marianne myself.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Well, we're talking a different one here.
- 3:39Speaker 9: Yeah, a different ginger.
- 3:42Speaker 5: So yeah, I figured we're headed into October. We're also
- 3:46Speaker 5: all falling into the category of buying into the foods
- 3:49Speaker 5: and candies. So I figured we'd have a whole wrap
- 3:52Speaker 5: up of our, it's October, time to buy everything pumpkin flavored.
- 3:56Speaker 2: No.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Caramel apple.
- 3:57Speaker 4: There we go. Caramel. If it says caramel apple, I
- 4:00Speaker 4: can't not buy it.
- 4:02Speaker 5: See, that's my problem with all this stuff.
- 4:03Speaker 4: It's the pumpkin.
- 4:04Speaker 8: It's the pumpkin for me. It doesn't every time.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Yeah, these last several years. And I think it is.
- 4:08Speaker 5: I'm kind of conscious of it. Like, I don't even
- 4:10Speaker 5: know that I love pumpkin flavored stuff as much as
- 4:13Speaker 5: I know it's Halloween and I love Halloween and I'm
- 4:16Speaker 5: just like, yes, pumpkin shit.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I need more of it.
- 4:19Speaker 8: It's a novelty of it.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it really is.
- 4:21Speaker 5: I buy into it and I'm just like, pumpkin.
- 4:22Speaker 9: Coffee, I'm all for it.
- 4:23Speaker 11: I don't really like pumpkin stuff, but I love the
- 4:26Speaker 11: pumpkin candy corn.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 9: I'll eat a whole bag of that.
- 4:29Speaker 8: That sounds terrible. Leave my candy corn alone. It's fine
- 4:34Speaker 8: just the way it is.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Have you tried the Starburst candy corn? Those were fucking disgusting.
- 4:37Speaker 8: That sounds terrible. I would never get that away from me.
- 4:40Speaker 11: But the pumpkin candy corn are regular candy corn shaped
- 4:43Speaker 11: like pumpkins.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Oh, okay. I thought you were talking about... Those are
- 4:46Speaker 4: mallow cream pumpkins.
- 4:47Speaker 8: I thought you were talking about... Yeah, the mallow cream pumpkins.
- 4:50Speaker 8: I thought you were talking about pumpkin spice candy corn,
- 4:52Speaker 8: and I was like, foul.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I think they do have those.
- 4:55Speaker 5: They have to.
- 4:56Speaker 8: I've seen the caramel apple ones.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Those are disgusting. Well, actually, no, they're not. I've had
- 5:00Speaker 4: worse things. The Twizzlers beat them in the worst things.
- 5:03Speaker 8: Twizzlers have been a lot of things.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Then I had Cherry Cola Twizzlers today, too. That was
- 5:07Speaker 4: pretty exciting.
- 5:07Speaker 8: Those were good.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Those were alright.
- 5:09Speaker 8: I liked those.
- 5:09Speaker 4: They're not quite as good as the Dr. Pepper, which
- 5:11Speaker 4: aren't really Twizzlers. They're some kind of knockoff. But they're
- 5:14Speaker 4: fucking delicious, too.
- 5:14Speaker 5: I still like the Caramel Apple.
- 5:16Speaker 9: But anyway.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Because you're weird.
- 5:17Speaker 5: I like them.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Is that?
- 5:20Speaker 9: What about Caramel Electra?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 8: That's totally what's-his-name from that 70s show.
- 5:24Speaker 5: I liked her back in the day. These days.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Was that Bella Thorne?
- 5:27Speaker 5: Is that Bella Thorne?
- 5:28Speaker 8: What is this?
- 5:29Speaker 5: I think it is Bella Thorne. We're watching trailers at
- 5:31Speaker 5: this point. We're distracted.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Is it Bella Thorne?
- 5:33Speaker 5: Is it Amityville Port 7? Amityville House. I'm mixing up
- 5:39Speaker 5: Animal House and Amityville. Making some sort of sex comedy
- 5:43Speaker 5: in the middle of a haunted mansion. It's kind of
- 5:45Speaker 5: awesome and I may just write this right now.
- 5:48Speaker 8: That sounds pretty good.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Trademark. Whatever I need to claim on this thing.
- 5:53Speaker 4: But yes, we just finished watching our first Amityville. We
- 5:58Speaker 4: just finished Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 6:00Speaker 5: A classic.
- 6:01Speaker 8: Which apparently I have never seen because I thought I
- 6:06Speaker 8: had seen it when I was like four and it
- 6:08Speaker 8: was burned into my memory. It apparently was not that
- 6:12Speaker 8: at all.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Do you have a brain in your memory?
- 6:14Speaker 8: Do I have a brain in my memory? What do
- 6:17Speaker 8: you have a brain in your memory? Some guy on
- 6:20Speaker 8: fire coming out of flames. What was that?
- 6:23Speaker 5: I think you're watching a whole other show.
- 6:26Speaker 9: Freddy Krueger?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it might be.
- 6:27Speaker 8: Was that it?
- 6:28Speaker 4: He was on fire.
- 6:29Speaker 8: He was on fire. Because I remember them telling me, no.
- 6:33Speaker 8: I remember it being outside of a house, and I
- 6:35Speaker 8: think there was a car or truck involved. And the
- 6:39Speaker 8: guy gets out of the truck, and he's on fire.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Was he driving the vehicle at the time?
- 6:43Speaker 8: Do not drive on fire. I'm not sure. Public service announcement.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah, stop, drop, and roll.
- 6:48Speaker 8: Don't speed up.
- 6:49Speaker 5: I was screaming that at something the other day.
- 6:51Speaker 1: What was it?
- 6:55Speaker 8: Was it that video online of the girl in the
- 6:58Speaker 8: restaurant that caught on fire?
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yes, that was it.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I was too.
- 7:02Speaker 8: I was like, what's wrong with you?
- 7:03Speaker 4: How do you not know to stop, drop, and roll?
- 7:05Speaker 5: It was some sort of, was it overseas, I guess?
- 7:08Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 7:08Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:09Speaker 8: I think it looked like an Asian restaurant, but I
- 7:13Speaker 8: thought it was here. Like in the States, but I
- 7:16Speaker 8: don't know.
- 7:17Speaker 5: I was hoping that was all faked. Because I assume
- 7:19Speaker 5: everything on the internet is fake at this point. So
- 7:21Speaker 5: I was hoping it was, because that woman all kinds
- 7:23Speaker 5: of caught on fire.
- 7:23Speaker 8: Yeah, and then she didn't, I mean, she just kind
- 7:25Speaker 8: of like flailed around. I mean, she did get on
- 7:27Speaker 8: the floor, but I think it was more like, oh
- 7:29Speaker 8: my God, I'm on fire. Not like, let's put it out.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, she kind of did.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Stop, drop, and roll, as I screamed at this guy.
- 7:36Speaker 8: But anyway, the guy in the movie didn't stop, drop,
- 7:39Speaker 8: and roll. He just kept walking. And there was like
- 7:42Speaker 8: fire behind him. And I thought it was Leatherface this
- 7:44Speaker 8: whole time.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Is this a full body burn? Because those are pretty
- 7:47Speaker 5: impressive when you see them.
- 7:48Speaker 8: Yeah, it was. The entire guy was on fire.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Exterminator 2? Personal favorite movie?
- 7:55Speaker 8: That might have been. I really thought it was Texas
- 7:57Speaker 8: Chainsaw Massacre.
- 7:58Speaker 4: There was nobody at all on fire in the movie
- 8:01Speaker 4: we just watched.
- 8:01Speaker 8: No, there wasn't. And that's why I was like, what
- 8:03Speaker 8: the hell? That is not the movie that I remember
- 8:06Speaker 8: scarring my childhood.
- 8:07Speaker 5: And I forgot. Your life is a lie. Up until now,
- 8:11Speaker 5: it's all, yeah, you've turned a corner.
- 8:14Speaker 9: Although they should have set the guy in the wheelchair
- 8:15Speaker 9: on fire.
- 8:16Speaker 5: I wish it were.
- 8:17Speaker 8: And just before they wheel him down the hill.
- 8:19Speaker 5: We all hate Franklin, right? Like as a society, I mean.
- 8:23Speaker 5: What an idiot.
- 8:24Speaker 9: He got what was coming to him.
- 8:25Speaker 4: It just took too long to get to it. I
- 8:26Speaker 4: was ready for him to die the first five minutes in.
- 8:29Speaker 9: He should have cut him a little deeper.
- 8:32Speaker 5: But he's the only one that we get to claim
- 8:33Speaker 5: the title. It's funny people made such a big deal
- 8:36Speaker 5: about that movie. And I know it was mid-70s. They
- 8:38Speaker 5: weren't prepared for that shit.
- 8:40Speaker 4: The first handicapped death in a movie?
- 8:43Speaker 5: Well, just in general. It's the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There's
- 8:46Speaker 5: one kill with a chainsaw. One kill with a chainsaw.
- 8:50Speaker 5: It should have been the Texas bludgeoning massacre because two
- 8:54Speaker 5: of the three guys get bludgeoned to death.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Agreed.
- 8:57Speaker 5: So I'm like, really? It's funny they make such a
- 9:00Speaker 5: big deal. Granted, I mean, he does run around with
- 9:02Speaker 5: a chainsaw for a long time, but I also forgot
- 9:05Speaker 5: how much it just drops off because I was going
- 9:07Speaker 5: to start setting up the mics here and towards the
- 9:09Speaker 5: end and By the time she leaves the dining room,
- 9:12Speaker 5: I'm like, oh shit, this movie's over already. I remembered
- 9:16Speaker 5: more running around before we get to the semi driving by,
- 9:19Speaker 5: but she leaves the dining room, she's out on the street.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Why did it not just take off on the semi?
- 9:25Speaker 5: Why he wants to run around and then he ran away.
- 9:28Speaker 5: And why did he have that giant wrench just sitting there?
- 9:31Speaker 5: Just because you drive a truck doesn't mean you have
- 9:33Speaker 5: a giant wrench sitting there.
- 9:34Speaker 9: He might have wanted to get out to check on
- 9:35Speaker 9: the guy that he ran over.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yeah, fuck that guy.
- 9:38Speaker 5: That guy was a crazy person.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that guy was nutters. Fuck that guy. Sometimes you
- 9:42Speaker 4: just keep going.
- 9:44Speaker 11: I mean, basically, it's a step-by-step movie about what not
- 9:48Speaker 11: to do.
- 9:50Speaker 5: When being chased by a murderer.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Don't go on road trips with handicapped people.
- 9:55Speaker 8: First and foremost.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I said that to Christian when we were sitting there.
- 9:59Speaker 5: As he gets in the van, I'm like, reasons you
- 10:02Speaker 5: don't pick up hitchhikers. Look at this guy.
- 10:05Speaker 11: Don't pick up hitchhikers. Don't walk into a stranger's house.
- 10:10Speaker 11: And when your friend goes in the stranger's house and
- 10:11Speaker 11: doesn't come out, don't follow him in.
- 10:14Speaker 4: You just count that one as a loss.
- 10:15Speaker 9: And then when both of your friends are missing.
- 10:18Speaker 8: You don't go upstairs in the damn house.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I'll be right back.
- 10:22Speaker 8: I'm going to go upstairs.
- 10:25Speaker 5: There's Eric Bana.
- 10:27Speaker 4: He's so weird looking.
- 10:28Speaker 8: He's weird, but in an attractive sort of way.
- 10:31Speaker 4: That's all you. He is not in my top five
- 10:34Speaker 4: boyfriend list. I'm sorry.
- 10:36Speaker 8: Your top five boyfriend list is top five pretty British boys.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Hell yeah, they are. You used to hate British guys.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Carl Urban is not British.
- 10:47Speaker 6: Australian.
- 10:48Speaker 4: He is New Zealand. New Zealand.
- 10:49Speaker 5: He would be upset.
- 10:51Speaker 8: Yeah. They don't like being in a group. He needs
- 10:54Speaker 8: to get his grammar straight. Apparently, they don't teach that
- 10:58Speaker 8: very well in New Zealand.
- 10:59Speaker 4: They don't use the proper usage of the term, too.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Is that what you're saying? God bless him. Look, he's pretty.
- 11:08Speaker 8: Well, yeah, and he needs to learn how to spell damn.
- 11:11Speaker 8: Damn it.
- 11:13Speaker 5: So, the movie geek rundown here. Has anybody actually watched
- 11:16Speaker 5: any movies, aside from Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
- 11:20Speaker 9: Recent movies?
- 11:21Speaker 4: Sure.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Or have you watched a movie recently? It doesn't necessarily
- 11:25Speaker 5: have to be new.
- 11:26Speaker 9: Yeah, I watched.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Oh, Lord.
- 11:29Speaker 9: Oh, God.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Did it have spiders in it?
- 11:31Speaker 9: Oh, I wish.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Have you seen Big Ass Spider?
- 11:33Speaker 3: No.
- 11:34Speaker 5: Eight-Legged Freaks? It's pretty fun, actually.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Have you seen Eight-Legged Freaks?
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 4: What's the one with William Shatner?
- 11:40Speaker 5: Kingdom of the Spiders is awesome.
- 11:42Speaker 9: I like Kingdom of the Spiders.
- 11:43Speaker 5: It's a classic.
- 11:44Speaker 11: I like Kingdom of the Spiders. Arachnophobia is pretty good.
- 11:47Speaker 11: Surprisingly pretty good.
- 11:49Speaker 5: For those of you who don't know, Bill's house is
- 11:50Speaker 5: covered in spiders. Literally. There's Joe McHale. How many spiders
- 11:55Speaker 5: do you have at home, Bill?
- 11:56Speaker 4: Oh. Way too damn many.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Have you lost track of them?
- 11:59Speaker 1: 24.
- 12:00Speaker 5: 24 of varying sizes.
- 12:02Speaker 9: See, I unfortunately have this channel called the This Channel.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Uh-oh. Oh, yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 9: And they show, like, the worst, weirdest movies from the 80s.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Or the best movies.
- 12:12Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 12:12Speaker 11: Yeah, that's perspective. And never made it in the movies
- 12:15Speaker 11: that I've never even heard of. And I'm always watching
- 12:17Speaker 11: some crazy shit on that thing.
- 12:19Speaker 9: Who knows?
- 12:20Speaker 5: Any standout.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I wonder what that channel would play. I think Boyfriend
- 12:25Speaker 4: made me watch a movie on this channel. Was it
- 12:28Speaker 4: The Quest?
- 12:29Speaker 5: Ooh, that is... That's got an underground following.
- 12:32Speaker 9: They always have stuff like Rollerball and.
- 12:35Speaker 5: He's got good items.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I got some Jean-Claude Van Damme back when he was
- 12:39Speaker 4: kind of hot. That was pretty exciting with the split
- 12:42Speaker 4: kick thing.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Doesn't he always do that?
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah, a boyfriend who hadn't seen it was like calling, like,
- 12:47Speaker 4: I bet he does the split kick thing to the
- 12:50Speaker 4: face and that'll be his final move. And I'll be like,
- 12:52Speaker 4: I'll be damned.
- 12:53Speaker 5: It just happened.
- 12:54Speaker 9: What about that commercial where he's doing the split on
- 12:56Speaker 9: the trucks?
- 12:57Speaker 4: That's amazing. I'm sorry, I interrupted everybody. I do that
- 13:01Speaker 4: all the time. Were you going to say you watched Bill?
- 13:04Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 13:04Speaker 9: I can't remember. The Color Purple?
- 13:07Speaker 5: That is a crazy genre film.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Were there spiders in that?
- 13:09Speaker 9: Unfortunately, no.
- 13:12Speaker 4: And would it have made it more interesting?
- 13:14Speaker 9: For me, it would have.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Big purple spider?
- 13:16Speaker 9: I didn't get it. That movie had all kinds of acclaim,
- 13:18Speaker 9: and I was just kind of bored.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Which, The Color Purple?
- 13:22Speaker 9: Yes, The Color Purple.
- 13:25Speaker 5: You're still looking for spiders. big purple well.
- 13:28Speaker 9: Wasn't enough action in that movie for me it would
- 13:30Speaker 9: have been better if jet lee was in it jet
- 13:33Speaker 9: lee is the color wait a minute see that's got
- 13:37Speaker 9: me hooked right there i'm.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Trying to think the last thing i watch other than
- 13:41Speaker 5: my recent i've been telling everybody to watch proxy because
- 13:44Speaker 5: it's awesome but uh since then i think the only
- 13:46Speaker 5: one i've watched is uh i watched the sacrament which
- 13:50Speaker 5: is the new ty west.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Movie i'm still angry with him you're angry a lot
- 13:54Speaker 4: of people.
- 13:55Speaker 5: You don't understand or you understand it. You don't take
- 13:59Speaker 5: to the notion of a slow burn film.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I do not.
- 14:02Speaker 5: You want action all the time. You're not good with
- 14:04Speaker 5: the color purple.
- 14:06Speaker 4: I would probably not appreciate the color purple.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Probably not.
- 14:08Speaker 4: You dig the action films. It should have prints in it.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 8: And the color purple rain.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Purple paisley, that's what it is.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Wearing no shirt, throwing a hissy fit.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 6: Oh yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 5: But yeah, again, I really like Ty West. I like
- 14:25Speaker 5: what he does as a filmmaker.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Does he make shitty movies?
- 14:29Speaker 5: No, I disagree.
- 14:30Speaker 9: Is there anything like Tybo?
- 14:32Speaker 5: Have you not seen Ty West's films? He's a horror specialist.
- 14:36Speaker 4: More or less.
- 14:37Speaker 5: This is the one that he sort of branches out
- 14:39Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 14:39Speaker 8: Is this the actual movie? This whole time I thought
- 14:41Speaker 8: it was a trailer.
- 14:41Speaker 4: No, this is the movie.
- 14:43Speaker 11: Oh, shit.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Long, long trailer.
- 14:44Speaker 5: What does that say about it?
- 14:46Speaker 4: I know.
- 14:46Speaker 8: That's why I was like, what is going on? Oh,
- 14:49Speaker 8: it's the movie.
- 14:49Speaker 5: This trailer makes no sense.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Somebody running shirtless. Was it Joel McHale? Because I would
- 14:52Speaker 4: totally watch Joel McHale run shirtless.
- 14:55Speaker 9: Is he the guy with the bleach spot in his hair?
- 14:58Speaker 2: No.
- 14:59Speaker 4: That's that other guy.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Are you sure?
- 15:01Speaker 8: Eric Bana?
- 15:02Speaker 2: No.
- 15:03Speaker 9: They're from the same show, though, right?
- 15:04Speaker 4: John Henson? John Henson? Is that his name?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Jim Henson?
- 15:07Speaker 5: No.
- 15:08Speaker 8: Does this movie have Muppets in it?
- 15:10Speaker 4: I hope so.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Everything's better with Muppets.
- 15:12Speaker 4: It's true.
- 15:13Speaker 8: Well, I mean, there's certain things in life. It's going
- 15:15Speaker 8: to make it pretty hot.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Damn straight.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Fucking A. But anyways, Ty West.
- 15:20Speaker 8: Ty West.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Slow-ass movies.
- 15:23Speaker 5: This one, well, and again, this one should normally be
- 15:26Speaker 5: like sending up a red flag for me because it's... Straight.
- 15:30Speaker 8: Excuse me.
- 15:32Speaker 5: It's sort of found footage. I mean, technically, I don't
- 15:36Speaker 5: even like found footage, but the way that they do it. See, again,
- 15:40Speaker 5: there's good ways to do it. I think it's unnecessary
- 15:43Speaker 5: in so many movies now, because I think, what's the
- 15:47Speaker 5: superhero kids movie?
- 15:49Speaker 4: I know that.
- 15:50Speaker 9: Batman.
- 15:51Speaker 6: X-Men.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Chronicle.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Chronicle. Superman. Chronicle's a great story. Doesn't need to be
- 15:56Speaker 5: found footage. There's no reason for it to be found footage.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Lighting. You gotta properly light this podcast.
- 16:05Speaker 8: Well, because it's kind of, yeah, well, it's kind of
- 16:07Speaker 8: like burning into my retinas, but then like if I
- 16:10Speaker 8: turn them out, we can't see each other.
- 16:11Speaker 4: We don't need to see each other.
- 16:13Speaker 12: Okay.
- 16:13Speaker 8: We'll let him turn it off.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Ooh, ooh, ooh.
- 16:16Speaker 9: I did go see a movie.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Uh-oh.
- 16:18Speaker 9: I went to UofL and watched Metropolis.
- 16:22Speaker 5: See? I was gonna get in on that, but it
- 16:24Speaker 5: was one of the weekends we were out of town.
- 16:26Speaker 9: An orchestra guy playing pipe.
- 16:28Speaker 8: Organs through the whole movie, and it Oh my gosh.
- 16:32Speaker 8: How did I not know about this? I would have
- 16:34Speaker 8: been all up in there.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Because where do we live? Because they don't publicize anything.
- 16:38Speaker 9: I live.
- 16:40Speaker 8: I live in the country. Nobody even.
- 16:42Speaker 5: You live on the outskirts of the town that doesn't
- 16:44Speaker 5: tell anybody the cool things that they do. We do
- 16:47Speaker 5: a lot of awesome stuff in our town. We don't
- 16:49Speaker 5: tell anybody.
- 16:49Speaker 4: It's a big fucking secret.
- 16:51Speaker 5: I'm in the middle of writing a story for one
- 16:55Speaker 5: of our local papers to bitch about that.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Yay.
- 16:58Speaker 5: That's one of my call to action for everybody involved in,
- 17:01Speaker 5: especially the movie geek world.
- 17:03Speaker 9: The Daily Bugle?
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 17:04Speaker 5: I feel like the music people still have their real
- 17:07Speaker 5: cool underground scene and they all think they're super cool.
- 17:09Speaker 5: But the movie geeks in our town just don't care
- 17:12Speaker 5: and don't spread the word about anything and don't have
- 17:14Speaker 5: a community. And I'm like, that's bullshit.
- 17:16Speaker 9: It's everything. It's the music too.
- 17:18Speaker 5: It's not like it was. But we still have a following.
- 17:20Speaker 5: People will still show up and loiter around at bars
- 17:23Speaker 5: and watch bands. But the movie stuff is just hit
- 17:25Speaker 5: and miss. People might go to it, but they just
- 17:28Speaker 5: might end up there at best. It's just like, I
- 17:31Speaker 5: don't know. Just in general, maybe your town's not like
- 17:34Speaker 5: this wherever you are. But if so, tell them to
- 17:37Speaker 5: get their act together. We all, as movie geeks, need
- 17:39Speaker 5: to get some sort of system going so we all
- 17:42Speaker 5: don't miss out on cool shit. Just saying.
- 17:44Speaker 8: Like Metropolis with a pipe organ.
- 17:46Speaker 5: With a pipe organ. I think I've actually seen a
- 17:48Speaker 5: version of that before, but it was not there. They
- 17:51Speaker 5: did it at some other thing. like really old theater downtown,
- 17:55Speaker 5: and it was awesome, and I don't think I've seen
- 17:57Speaker 5: a show there since. Again, why don't we do more
- 17:59Speaker 5: cool stuff like that? Metropolis, what were your thoughts.
- 18:03Speaker 6: On it, Bill?
- 18:05Speaker 9: Oh, I mean, seeing it in that format was super cool.
- 18:09Speaker 9: I mean, I've seen Metropolis before.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I've never seen it.
- 18:13Speaker 8: I haven't either.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 18:14Speaker 8: It was on Netflix.
- 18:16Speaker 9: It's longer than I remembered it being.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Yeah, a lot of those, it seems like they'd wrap
- 18:21Speaker 5: up a little faster. Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 11: Well, you know, they didn't have words, so they overdramatized stuff. So, like,
- 18:27Speaker 11: opening a door could take, like, three minutes.
- 18:29Speaker 5: So it's like a soap opera?
- 18:30Speaker 9: I'm still opening the door.
- 18:33Speaker 5: We've been having this argument for a week and a half.
- 18:35Speaker 4: But does it have spiders?
- 18:37Speaker 1: No spiders.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Damn it, Bill. Hot space chicks.
- 18:39Speaker 9: But it does have, like, a satanic robot woman.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 18:42Speaker 5: She is a hot space chick.
- 18:44Speaker 9: And the moral of the story is that women will
- 18:46Speaker 9: ruin everything.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Ah, the tale we've been telling since the Bible. Everything's fine,
- 18:56Speaker 5: and then somebody fucks it all up.
- 18:58Speaker 8: This movie is looking kind of promising for the appearance
- 19:02Speaker 8: of spiders being as they're at the Bronx Zoo. I
- 19:06Speaker 8: have no idea what's going on in this movie, but
- 19:09Speaker 8: so far we've seen tigers and lions.
- 19:12Speaker 10: Bears?
- 19:13Speaker 8: Not bears yet. No, oh my gosh.
- 19:30Speaker 12: The things that I shouldn't know. Got smokes that I
- 19:38Speaker 12: stole from the 7-Eleven.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Everybody's at the drive-on.
- 19:52Speaker 12: Wanna be the guy that doesn't like to fight Who
- 19:55Speaker 12: can kick your ass if you touch his girl Wanna
- 19:58Speaker 12: be the guy that.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Breaks all the rules But.
- 20:00Speaker 12: The cops let him off cause they think he's cool
- 20:03Speaker 12: Wanna know the things that I shouldn't know Got smokes
- 20:07Speaker 12: that I stole from the 7-Eleven.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Good evening, folks, and a hearty welcome to our drive-in theater.

- 21:35Speaker 3: hour in the theater area for your safety's sake. And
- 21:38Speaker 3: mom or pop, go with the kids when they leave
- 21:41Speaker 3: the car. We hope you have a wonderful time.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Please, please help!
- 21:46Speaker 10: What happened was true.
- 21:47Speaker 5: They're crazy!
- 21:50Speaker 1: You've got to make a stop!
- 21:52Speaker 10: Some of the victims didn't have time to scream.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Others weren't as lucky.
- 22:03Speaker 10: Now, Bryanston Pictures presents every grisly detail of the Texas

- 22:13Speaker 10: in America, and without a doubt, the most realistic shocker
- 22:17Speaker 10: ever filmed.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Even if one of.
- 22:23Speaker 10: Them survives, what will be left after the Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
- 22:30Speaker 10: Rated R, under 17, not admitted without parent.

- 24:04Speaker 2: Raise your right hand. And repeat after me. We are
- 24:12Speaker 2: drive-in mutants. We are not like other people. We are sick.
- 24:22Speaker 2: We are disgusting. We believe in blood, in breasts, and
- 24:31Speaker 2: in beasts.
- 24:33Speaker 4: This is Joe Bob Briggs, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 24:36Speaker 2: As long as one drive-in remains, on the planet Earth,
- 24:43Speaker 2: we will party like jungle animals, we will boogie till
- 24:48Speaker 2: we puke, the drive-in will never die.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Amen.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Amen.
- 24:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 25:01Speaker 11: It's part of your problem, you know.
- 25:06Speaker 9: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 25:08Speaker 2: All of life's riddles are answered.
- 25:10Speaker 10: In the movies.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And now, on with the show.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Every time I have a date, there's only one place
- 25:22Speaker 5: to go.
- 25:22Speaker 9: That's to the drive-in.
- 25:25Speaker 4: It's such a groovy.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Place to talk and maybe watch a show down at
- 25:29Speaker 5: the drive-in.
- 25:32Speaker 9: Forget about the plot.
- 25:34Speaker 3: It'll do very well.
- 25:35Speaker 5: But make sure you see enough so you're prepared to
- 25:38Speaker 5: tell about the drive-in.
- 25:41Speaker 6: I love the drive-in.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Speaking of us watching YouTube videos, did you see the
- 25:47Speaker 5: one with the tiger?
- 25:50Speaker 8: Wait, which one are we? Oh, yeah, where the guy
- 25:52Speaker 8: fell in the pit.
- 25:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 8: And then he was fine until everybody started yelling and
- 25:56Speaker 8: then he gets dragged away.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Because at first it's funny. I thought, oh, this is
- 26:00Speaker 5: like a tiger video. The tiger's kind of like a
- 26:04Speaker 5: big kitty cat.
- 26:05Speaker 8: He's like, hey, let's play.
- 26:06Speaker 5: He's just doing the kitty thing. He's like, ha ha,
- 26:08Speaker 5: I'm playing. It's funny. That goes on for like two
- 26:11Speaker 5: or three minutes. Towards the end, he grabs the dude
- 26:14Speaker 5: by the head, picks him up and runs off with him,
- 26:18Speaker 5: holding his head in his mouth.
- 26:20Speaker 8: By the way, do we have a status report on
- 26:22Speaker 8: that dude? Is he alive?
- 26:24Speaker 5: Again, I was hoping it was fake, like everything else
- 26:26Speaker 5: on the internet. But the video looked pretty legit.
- 26:29Speaker 8: It was pretty convincing. Are they playing Donkey Kong? Oh,
- 26:35Speaker 8: that was, okay.
- 26:36Speaker 4: I get it.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Monkey habitat. Look, it looks like Donkey Kong, does it not?
- 26:41Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Live action Donkey Kong with a scary woman. Is this
- 26:45Speaker 5: Altered States?
- 26:47Speaker 8: This is Deliver Us From Evil.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, I bet she is. Maybe she's got spiders
- 26:51Speaker 4: in her skin and it's making her dig. Maybe her
- 26:54Speaker 4: brain is possessed by spiders.
- 26:55Speaker 9: Tay digs.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Ty West and Tay digs.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Okay, we're going to have to record fast.
- 27:02Speaker 5: It's fucking hot in here. We're making up our own
- 27:05Speaker 5: plot to this now. What were we talking about before
- 27:07Speaker 5: we got distracted?
- 27:08Speaker 8: You were watching the YouTube video.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Again, this is where it, you know. movie geeks do
- 27:13Speaker 5: when they're home by themselves. They just watch horrible shows.
- 27:15Speaker 4: No, I don't.
- 27:16Speaker 8: Oh, wait. Every YouTube video that we've referenced.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Okay, here's my issue with the world, mostly Facebook. Okay,
- 27:23Speaker 5: it was all fun and games when you just posted
- 27:24Speaker 5: videos to your feed, but now that they just start
- 27:27Speaker 5: when you pass by them.
- 27:29Speaker 8: Well, and then you have to watch them.
- 27:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 27:31Speaker 5: You have to. I can't get anything done. I'm like
- 27:33Speaker 5: six hours later, I was going to type an email,
- 27:36Speaker 5: but now.
- 27:36Speaker 4: But then you had to watch every Graveyard Girl video
- 27:38Speaker 4: in existence. I've watched every.
- 27:40Speaker 5: oh Bunny is so awesome I watch her I watch
- 27:43Speaker 5: tigers eat people's heads I watch all kinds of stupid
- 27:46Speaker 5: nonsense and it's because they just start it's different if
- 27:49Speaker 5: I have to push play like that's a commitment to
- 27:52Speaker 5: alright now I want to see this but when it
- 27:54Speaker 5: just starts I'm like oh well and what's this and
- 27:56Speaker 5: then six hours later so screw you Facebook.
- 27:59Speaker 8: I watched a movie last night and I didn't actually
- 28:01Speaker 8: finish it because I was so bored and it's probably
- 28:03Speaker 8: already been covered but it's kind of a lead in
- 28:06Speaker 8: to like the whole well I don't know I watched
- 28:09Speaker 8: her last night.
- 28:11Speaker 6: All right.
- 28:11Speaker 5: Don't totally ruin it.
- 28:13Speaker 8: Not totally.
- 28:14Speaker 4: You have not seen it yet?
- 28:15Speaker 8: Okay, well, then I'm not going to talk about it.
- 28:17Speaker 5: That's the Joaquin.
- 28:19Speaker 8: Joaquin Phoenix.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I hate his name. I feel like I'm going to
- 28:21Speaker 4: hulk up a loogie.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Joaquin. Call him Rain. I could.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:26Speaker 6: No, wait.
- 28:26Speaker 5: He wasn't Rain.
- 28:27Speaker 4: No.
- 28:28Speaker 9: He's Leaf. Is that the one where he's in love
- 28:29Speaker 9: with the computer?
- 28:31Speaker 8: Yeah, the operating system.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Hey, if my operating system sounded like Scarlett Johansson, I'd
- 28:36Speaker 5: be all right with.
- 28:36Speaker 4: It, too.
- 28:37Speaker 8: I mean, it sounds like Scarlett Johansson, but she's not
- 28:40Speaker 8: physically there, so... You don't know?
- 28:43Speaker 5: I got pitches.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Well.
- 28:45Speaker 8: And the rest of the world.
- 28:46Speaker 4: But, um, no.
- 28:48Speaker 5: Thank you, internet.
- 28:49Speaker 8: No, uh, this is... Oh, there's the lion.
- 28:53Speaker 4: Oh, my.
- 28:54Speaker 8: But, yeah, no, it was interesting. I can't ruin the
- 28:56Speaker 8: whole movie for you. I would be interested to see
- 28:59Speaker 8: your take, um, I was told going into it by
- 29:03Speaker 8: the Ken that he didn't really particularly care for it,
- 29:12Speaker 8: but he just said that I should watch it and
- 29:15Speaker 8: give my own assessment of it and let him know.
- 29:18Speaker 8: And our assessment is pretty much the same.
- 29:20Speaker 5: I think maybe this is why I put it off
- 29:23Speaker 5: a little bit. I think I'm afraid it's going to
- 29:25Speaker 5: be a little too close to home for So I'm
- 29:28Speaker 5: just saying.
- 29:29Speaker 8: That's probably, honestly.
- 29:31Speaker 5: A loser guy hanging around his house on the computer
- 29:33Speaker 5: all day long. Just saying.
- 29:35Speaker 8: Well, and I mean, it's.
- 29:36Speaker 5: A little too frightening.
- 29:37Speaker 8: You know, because we're talking about like all those. YouTube
- 29:40Speaker 8: videos and watching videos on Facebook and all that stuff. Like,
- 29:44Speaker 8: I can kind of see society going there, you know.
- 29:47Speaker 4: That's what I've said.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'm like, that's why this is really a horror movie
- 29:50Speaker 5: because we're one shade away from what's going on.
- 29:52Speaker 8: Yeah, it can be a little disturbing in point. So
- 29:57Speaker 8: I don't know. Like, you know, he's looking for emotional
- 29:59Speaker 8: fulfillment and he's getting it. He's getting it, but it's
- 30:03Speaker 8: through artificial intelligence.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Well i haven't watched any movies like we did get
- 30:09Speaker 4: back into watching buffy so that's been that's fun that's
- 30:12Speaker 4: been a huge undertaking because we're like her mom just died.
- 30:16Speaker 5: Oh whoa spoiler alert number one holy.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Shit if you have if you don't fucking.
- 30:20Speaker 5: It's only been like 15 years maybe they're a.
- 30:22Speaker 8: Little behind maybe maybe there are people new to watching
- 30:26Speaker 8: it because they're young and stupid yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Exactly because if you're not watching buffy you really should
- 30:31Speaker 5: be because it's One of the best series ever created.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Well, her mom's going to die. I knew that. Well, see,
- 30:37Speaker 4: she knew it, but I'm not spoiling it too bad.
- 30:40Speaker 4: But yeah, it's like I forget how much of an
- 30:41Speaker 4: undertaking it is because season five starts with Dawn.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Dawn's awesome.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Dawn is a pain in the ass. I like Dawn.
- 30:49Speaker 4: When she first comes on there, I'm like, holy shit,
- 30:51Speaker 4: I want to strangle this child, which is usually my reaction.
- 30:54Speaker 4: To most kids, actually. But I just, they're just, the
- 30:58Speaker 4: visceral hatred I have for this. I mean, I'm assuming
- 31:01Speaker 4: she gets better and she's grown into a relatively hot chick.
- 31:04Speaker 5: Tractorbird's awesome.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Ribs will always be ribs. But anyways.
- 31:08Speaker 5: No, she doesn't fit that anymore.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Not so much.
- 31:10Speaker 5: I sent you those pictures, didn't I?
- 31:11Speaker 4: I think so.
- 31:12Speaker 5: She is not ribs anymore.
- 31:13Speaker 4: But yeah, it has been quite the undertaking of like, God,
- 31:15Speaker 4: when is this person going to go away? Like Riley.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Not for several more years.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Riley.
- 31:19Speaker 5: I didn't hate Riley.
- 31:20Speaker 4: I hated Riley and his wishy face.
- 31:22Speaker 5: Riley's written to be a chump. So, I mean, he
- 31:25Speaker 5: is a chump.
- 31:26Speaker 4: And Glory. God, I hate Glory. See, I like Glory.
- 31:28Speaker 5: She has stupid hair. That was my other favorite season.
- 31:31Speaker 5: I like the Glory season. It's really fun.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Season two's the best.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Season two's the best. Again, that's why I said the other.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Season two's the best. But Glory is a super fun season.
- 31:40Speaker 5: I need to go back and watch them all again.
- 31:42Speaker 5: I don't have anybody to watch them with, though, so
- 31:44Speaker 5: you'd have suckering Jay into it, so I have to
- 31:46Speaker 5: watch it with my operating system.
- 31:47Speaker 4: What are you talking about? It was Boyfriend's idea. Boyfriend
- 31:49Speaker 4: loves him some Buffy.
- 31:50Speaker 5: He should, because it's awesome.
- 31:52Speaker 8: I've been trying to sucker the Ken into watching Once
- 31:55Speaker 8: Upon a Time with me, and I can't seem to
- 31:57Speaker 8: do it.
- 31:58Speaker 5: I was going to say, how does he take it?
- 32:01Speaker 8: He said, but football's on at the same time.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Quickly add in the West in there, you might be
- 32:06Speaker 5: able to sucker him into at least an episode. That's true.
- 32:09Speaker 5: He'll be like, oh, okay, cool.
- 32:11Speaker 4: The West, huh?
- 32:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:13Speaker 4: I keep meaning to try to watch that show, but
- 32:14Speaker 4: it just hasn't happened yet.
- 32:15Speaker 8: It sucked me in, and, like, I'm kind of ashamed,
- 32:19Speaker 8: but at the same time, I can't get enough.
- 32:21Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 32:22Speaker 8: I want to watch that, and.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I want to watch Grimm. I think I started on Grimm,
- 32:25Speaker 4: and I got a couple episodes in.
- 32:26Speaker 5: Grimm, somebody said this the other day on something I
- 32:28Speaker 5: was listening to. They were like, it's the closest thing
- 32:30Speaker 5: to Buffy we have now.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Is it still on?
- 32:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it was up until, I don't know if it
- 32:34Speaker 5: got renewed or something. It had at least a couple seasons.
- 32:36Speaker 4: I don't have the patience to be, like, aware of
- 32:39Speaker 4: things that are on TV currently. I have to wait
- 32:40Speaker 4: until it's all available, like, Oh.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Well, no.
- 32:44Speaker 8: Up until now, I've watched it all on the interwebs,
- 32:48Speaker 8: and now the new season's starting tomorrow, so I'm finally
- 32:52Speaker 8: caught up, and now I can watch it in real time,
- 32:55Speaker 8: which I don't know if I'm going to like that
- 32:56Speaker 8: or not. I don't like waiting an entire week to
- 33:00Speaker 8: know what's going to happen.
- 33:02Speaker 4: The last show that I put that level of commitment
- 33:03Speaker 4: in to watch it every week, it got canceled, so
- 33:06Speaker 4: now I'm just disappointed and disillusioned with life.
- 33:08Speaker 5: That's most shows at this point.
- 33:10Speaker 4: I loved Suburgatory. Fuck everybody who didn't like that show.
- 33:12Speaker 5: That show was fun.
- 33:15Speaker 4: And Jane Levy, she was adorable.
- 33:16Speaker 5: She is adorable.
- 33:17Speaker 4: For a soulless ginger.
- 33:18Speaker 5: I mean, she's still adorable and she needs to come
- 33:20Speaker 5: hang out on the show. Talk about making evil Ted.
- 33:24Speaker 5: Which I gave a middling.
- 33:27Speaker 4: I like that movie.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I kind of gave it an endorsement the other
- 33:31Speaker 5: day to somebody. I'm like, it's not.
- 33:33Speaker 4: The original. Don't expect it.
- 33:34Speaker 8: I kind of tore it apart.
- 33:35Speaker 3: I know.
- 33:36Speaker 5: I was the only one in the show defending it.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Let me know if Olivia Munn shows up, because I
- 33:40Speaker 4: haven't seen her yet. Yeah, she was just on there.
- 33:42Speaker 4: All I see is the back of your head.
- 33:43Speaker 5: This is why.
- 33:45Speaker 9: Back of my head is just as sexy as Olivia Munn's.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I disagree.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I highly doubt it.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I disagree.
- 33:51Speaker 9: You should see it in a bikini.
- 33:53Speaker 5: No. You forget that one.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 33:56Speaker 5: But yeah, I haven't.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Watched any actual movies.
- 33:59Speaker 8: Shut the goddamn doors. That's what it said.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Shut the pot bay doors, Al.
- 34:05Speaker 4: God, I love Joel McHale. But yeah, anyways.
- 34:07Speaker 9: Why don't you marry him?
- 34:09Speaker 4: He's so far away. And he's not in my top five.
- 34:14Speaker 9: Yeah, really.
- 34:14Speaker 5: He's like a seven.
- 34:15Speaker 4: God, at least.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Totally a seven.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Nine pushing it.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Nine once you see those new commercials.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I love the vodka commercials.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Whatever the fuck. You can get a national marketing campaign
- 34:29Speaker 5: for a thing and nobody knows what the hell it is.
- 34:31Speaker 4: There's two different ones. There's vodka and then there's some
- 34:34Speaker 4: kind of mint or gum.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the thing. How many times have you seen those?
- 34:37Speaker 5: No idea what the fuck those are. It's supposed to
- 34:41Speaker 5: be an energy booster, mind sharpener.
- 34:45Speaker 4: It sounds bullshit.
- 34:46Speaker 5: It all sounds like bullshit. This is the world we
- 34:50Speaker 5: live in.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Bullshit. But yeah, so we haven't actually had time to
- 34:53Speaker 4: actually sit and commit to watching a movie because it's
- 34:55Speaker 4: always like, oh, well, here, let's watch something. We're going
- 34:57Speaker 4: to watch Buffy because that's like, that's a long, that's
- 35:00Speaker 4: a lot of commitment to a show because it's what,
- 35:02Speaker 4: seven seasons?
- 35:03Speaker 5: That's if you just stick to Buffy.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Yeah, we haven't.
- 35:06Speaker 5: If you don't spiral off to the angel world.
- 35:07Speaker 4: We thought about trying to incorporate Buffy and Angel, but
- 35:10Speaker 4: that was just.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Try to recreate the old system when they used to.
- 35:13Speaker 5: cross over from one to the other when they were
- 35:15Speaker 5: both on the same.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Network didn't they move to different channels they did.
- 35:18Speaker 5: And that made it much harder to do because then
- 35:19Speaker 5: you get in trouble but when they were on the
- 35:21Speaker 5: same network they used to do that like they'd leave
- 35:23Speaker 5: one episode and go to the next episode and like
- 35:26Speaker 5: they'd cross over characters would cross over directly from one
- 35:29Speaker 5: show to the next within the same plot line that's
- 35:32Speaker 5: crazy to figure out that sort of orchestration to make
- 35:35Speaker 5: that all work but yeah so.
- 35:37Speaker 4: That's Yeah, because there's seven seasons, 23, is it 23
- 35:40Speaker 4: episodes per season? Sounds about right. Except for the first season.
- 35:42Speaker 4: Except for the first season. Which was 12 episodes, I think.
- 35:45Speaker 5: Mid-season replacement. Geeks.
- 35:48Speaker 4: The show's still amazing. I love that show. I get like,
- 35:50Speaker 4: all right, when is this person going to go away?
- 35:52Speaker 4: When's this person going to die? When's this going to happen?
- 35:54Speaker 5: Well, see, that's lucky. It's a Joss show, and he
- 35:56Speaker 5: kills people off all the time. That really could happen.
- 36:00Speaker 4: He could be the main star of the show. He
- 36:01Speaker 4: don't give a shit.
- 36:02Speaker 5: He don't care. He just kills people. Yeah, see, that's
- 36:06Speaker 5: the loophole.
- 36:07Speaker 4: I didn't spoil that one for anybody out there.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Kept waiting for the other Slayer show. That's a loophole
- 36:12Speaker 5: I called them all the time. I'm just like, there's a.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Big hole there.
- 36:15Speaker 9: Wait a minute. Slayer has a show? Yes.
- 36:19Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Yes.
- 36:20Speaker 5: You love vampires, right?
- 36:22Speaker 4: All right. Is there anything else we need to talk about?
- 36:25Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 36:27Speaker 4: The drive-in's still being awesome. There's a movie. I can't
- 36:30Speaker 4: see Olivia Munn.
- 36:31Speaker 8: We have no idea what's going on.
- 36:32Speaker 4: There's a dark hallway.
- 36:33Speaker 9: Have you ever seen Ted in the Ultimate Book of Evil?
- 36:36Speaker 5: I have not. Like the TV show?
- 36:39Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 5: I know of it.
- 36:40Speaker 4: The one with Jason Mewes in it?
- 36:42Speaker 5: Yeah, he's like the janitor.
- 36:43Speaker 9: You might want to check that show out.
- 36:45Speaker 5: I heard it was alright.
- 36:46Speaker 9: It's alright.
- 36:47Speaker 11: I mean, it's not like anything great, but it's definitely
- 36:50Speaker 11: entertaining and different and weird.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And satanic.
- 36:54Speaker 5: Is there anything we're looking forward to heading towards Halloween?
- 36:57Speaker 8: Everything Halloween.
- 36:58Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 36:59Speaker 4: I think we're going to go to Texas.
- 37:01Speaker 5: That's crazy talk. How come I don't get to go?
- 37:03Speaker 8: I want to go to Texas and I want to
- 37:04Speaker 8: stalk Bunny. I have blueberry in my trunk.
- 37:05Speaker 4: I want to go. If you would like a box.
- 37:06Speaker 8: It's expired. It hasn't been opened.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Right in.
- 37:11Speaker 5: You can win your prize.
- 37:11Speaker 8: I also have fruit, fruit, and yummy mummy in there too.
- 37:14Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 9: I want to show those to Jay. Are they from
- 37:18Speaker 9: last year?
- 37:19Speaker 4: They are.
- 37:20Speaker 8: Because I was supposed to send them to some friends
- 37:21Speaker 8: of ours in Canada, but it got to be too expensive.
- 37:25Speaker 4: So fuck them. Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 8: Well, I said it a little bit nicer because they're
- 37:30Speaker 8: from Canada and they're super nice. But I was just like, yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 8: it's a little expensive to mail you this cereal. So, sorry.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Sorry. Sorry.
- 37:38Speaker 8: Sorry, guys. How about that?
- 37:40Speaker 4: But I think they're selling it in Canada this year.
- 37:43Speaker 8: I think they are. So, yay, Canada.
- 37:47Speaker 5: And write in now if you want to win a
- 37:48Speaker 5: box of your old Fruit Brute.
- 37:50Speaker 8: My old Fruit Brute or Yummy Mummy because those are
- 37:52Speaker 8: the gross ones.
- 37:55Speaker 4: I had to show all of my tattoos to the
- 37:57Speaker 4: lady at the concession stand.
- 37:58Speaker 9: Oh, did you show her your Star Wars tattoo? Yeah,
- 38:00Speaker 9: I did.
- 38:01Speaker 4: My Battlestar Galactica tattoo.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Tron.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Tron. Because, yeah, she's one of those, like, when you
- 38:09Speaker 4: walk up there, she, like, touches you. She didn't ask
- 38:12Speaker 4: to see the tattoo. She just reached over automatically.
- 38:14Speaker 8: I don't like it when people do that. It really, really,
- 38:16Speaker 8: really bothers me.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Kind of crossing a line.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 9: That's what's good about being a big, scary-looking dude. That
- 38:20Speaker 9: doesn't happen too often to me.
- 38:21Speaker 5: I did it two years ago.
- 38:23Speaker 4: He was looking for your tramp stamps, what it was.
- 38:26Speaker 4: But everybody's seen that.
- 38:27Speaker 9: I would have showed him that.
- 38:28Speaker 5: That's an adorable My Little Pony.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Aww. But yeah, because I was excited because, you know,
- 38:35Speaker 4: they had the General Lee here and I was like, yes,
- 38:37Speaker 4: because I got my Bodoop tattoo and I showed it
- 38:39Speaker 4: to her. She's like, oh my God. And she was
- 38:41Speaker 4: like telling me all about her husband's tattoos and there
- 38:43Speaker 4: was a big old thing and there was like a
- 38:44Speaker 4: line like all the way out the door.
- 38:45Speaker 5: And they're like, oh my God, shut up, weirdos.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Exactly, pretty much. I'm like, I kept trying to like
- 38:49Speaker 4: inch away and she kept like talking more and I'm like,
- 38:52Speaker 4: There's people and they're giving me evil eye like I
- 38:55Speaker 4: give to everybody else who does this thing. So we
- 38:57Speaker 4: need to keep it along.
- 39:00Speaker 1: With that.
- 39:00Speaker 5: I guess we should keep it along. So let's wrap
- 39:03Speaker 5: this thing up. Any well wishes to the listeners out there?
- 39:07Speaker 4: Joe McHale.
- 39:08Speaker 5: Obviously not.
- 39:09Speaker 8: Don't don't eat those nasty caramel apple apple Twizzlers.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Those were disgusting.
- 39:14Speaker 8: Unless you like grit in your teeth.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Those are good. Try them everybody.
- 39:18Speaker 4: The Dr. Pepper ones are good though.
- 39:20Speaker 8: Do eat candy corn M & M' s though because those
- 39:22Speaker 8: are delicious.
- 39:23Speaker 5: Just eat candy corn. It's pretty awesome.
- 39:25Speaker 4: And the mallard cream pumpkins.
- 39:26Speaker 8: And those.
- 39:27Speaker 9: Silent green army balls.
- 39:31Speaker 5: Was that a haku?
- 39:34Speaker 4: Gothic jelly beans?
- 39:35Speaker 5: What? Spike dragon balls?
- 39:39Speaker 8: Spike dragon balls.
- 39:40Speaker 5: It was in the machine up at the concession stand.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Have we missed anything vital in this movie? Because all
- 39:46Speaker 4: I've seen is a bunch of dark.
- 39:47Speaker 5: I don't think so. It's kind of like the first
- 39:49Speaker 5: time I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 39:51Speaker 4: It's like every time you see Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 39:53Speaker 5: No, I was like, ever since they've done the redo,
- 39:55Speaker 5: because didn't that time we watched it, it was on.
- 39:57Speaker 4: VHS, right?
- 39:57Speaker 5: I think so, when we almost got killed. And yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 5: I was just like, you can't see a damn thing
- 40:02Speaker 5: back then. So everybody always talks up the grittiness and
- 40:05Speaker 5: they like that it doesn't look pretty. But I'm like,
- 40:07Speaker 5: you need a certain level of being able to see things.
- 40:11Speaker 5: I think when they did a little bit of a
- 40:12Speaker 5: cleanup when it went to DVD, it kind of helped
- 40:15Speaker 5: because at least you could see what's going on.
- 40:17Speaker 9: VHS and it was real dark.
- 40:19Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just dark with extra dark like every once
- 40:22Speaker 5: in a while.
- 40:23Speaker 4: Was it gritty dark?
- 40:24Speaker 5: When they get inside, gritty.
- 40:25Speaker 8: Gritty like apple Twizzlers, caramel apple Twizzlers.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Dead people. Oh my goodness.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Deliver us from evil.
- 40:34Speaker 1: It could.
- 40:36Speaker 5: Be a body farm.
- 40:37Speaker 4: You don't know.
- 40:38Speaker 5: This might be found footage.
- 40:41Speaker 4: This is just Eric Bana's basement. There's the person who
- 40:48Speaker 4: suggested he did the Hulk. There's the spiders!
- 40:50Speaker 5: Oh my god, yes!
- 40:53Speaker 8: So good.
- 40:54Speaker 9: Spiders came out of eyeballs.
- 40:58Speaker 5: Your dreams have come true.
- 40:59Speaker 4: You've been waiting the entire night for this, haven't you?
- 41:03Speaker 4: Your entire life, actually. Your entire life has led up
- 41:06Speaker 4: to this moment.
- 41:07Speaker 5: It's been a lie.
- 41:08Speaker 8: Oh wait, that was you.
- 41:12Speaker 11: Nothing will ever beat when William Shatner saves that little
- 41:15Speaker 11: girl and then immediately throws her.
- 41:17Speaker 5: On the floor.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Shatner's a dick.
- 41:20Speaker 5: That's like just actual footage of him. He didn't know
- 41:22Speaker 5: the cameras were rolling. He just throws kids on the
- 41:25Speaker 5: floor all the time.
- 41:25Speaker 8: Is that Seth Rogen?
- 41:26Speaker 4: Oh no.
- 41:27Speaker 8: I thought this movie was getting ready to take another turn.
- 41:30Speaker 4: A nosedive turn?
- 41:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Well, I think we've got our intro to Halloween. We'll
- 41:37Speaker 5: be back for many more creepy Halloween episodes, I am sure.
- 41:41Speaker 5: Get out, you know. Oh, Lord. Before we get on
- 41:44Speaker 5: a tangent of doing that, let's get the hell out
- 41:46Speaker 5: of here.
- 41:47Speaker 4: I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 41:48Speaker 5: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:13Speaker 12: She came a-walkin' in between two cars.
- 42:15Speaker 5: She'd been down to buy her some candy bars. I
- 42:19Speaker 5: rolled my window down.
- 42:20Speaker 12: My heart was thumpin' and a-jumpin' around.
- 42:24Speaker 5: You found that baby at a drive-in movie.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I said, now, honey, you're going.
- 42:31Speaker 4: To get lost.
- 42:31Speaker 3: She turned around and had a ponytail toss.
- 42:34Speaker 8: But she says, I did it all wrong.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Man, she had the craziest smile. I found that baby
- 42:39Speaker 4: at a drive-in movie.
- 42:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Yeah. Better wait till you can see.
