- 0:48Speaker 1: We've got a high school report coming up. We're going
- 0:50Speaker 1: to hear from Coach Elko. We're going to hear from
- 0:53Speaker 1: Cash as how from the Lombardi Award last night in
- 0:58Speaker 1: the second hour, Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. Yes, animals attacking
- 1:06Speaker 1: this one is boy. We've got one weird one. I
- 1:10Speaker 1: got to tell you that, and it's a cautionary tale
- 1:15Speaker 1: for us to get them before they get us. Marcel
- 1:19Speaker 1: Reid is up for another postseason honor. It was announced
- 1:23Speaker 1: today that he's a finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler
- 1:28Speaker 1: Rose Award as selected by People Like Me. Joining Marcel
- 1:35Speaker 1: Reid on the list, Drew Mestermaker, the quarterback from North Texas,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and one more quarterback, Haynes King from Georgia Tech and Longview,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and two running backs, Cam Cook from Jacksonville State out
- 1:55Speaker 1: of Round Rock and Kawan Lacy out of Ole miss
- 1:58Speaker 1: via Lancaster. Texas techs Jacob Rodriguez won the Lombardi Award
- 2:06Speaker 1: last night at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston. Cassius
- 2:12Speaker 1: Howell was a finalist for that award of David Bailey,
- 2:18Speaker 1: the defensive infant Tech was a finalist along with Caden
- 2:21Speaker 1: Proctor at the University of Alabama. Rodriguez has already been
- 2:28Speaker 1: named the Butkus Award and Bronco Negersky Award winner. The
- 2:33Speaker 1: first Lombardi Award winner in Texas Tech history. He led
- 2:39Speaker 1: all FBS defenders with seven forced fumbles and the only
- 2:46Speaker 1: player this year to record at least five forced fumbles
- 2:51Speaker 1: with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Rodriguez was also
- 2:57Speaker 1: named the Big Twelve Defensive Player of the Year. I
- 3:01Speaker 1: will tell you he was my vote to win the
- 3:05Speaker 1: Lombardi Award. I voted Cash's Hall second and I voted
- 3:10Speaker 1: Caden Proctor third, as we were allowed to vote on
- 3:14Speaker 1: three finalists.
- 3:16Speaker 3: A and M.
- 3:16Speaker 1: According to multi media reports, will elevate lyle hemphilt A
- 3:23Speaker 1: defensive coordinator Jay Bateman is headed to Kentucky. Impill's official
- 3:30Speaker 1: title was associate head coach of the defense. He joined
- 3:33Speaker 1: the staff from James Madison last January. Previously co defensive
- 3:39Speaker 1: coordinator and safeties coach at Duke with Mike Elko. He
- 3:43Speaker 1: has worked with Elko for a while. Bateman was in
- 3:47Speaker 1: the second of a two year deal at A and M,
- 3:50Speaker 1: where he made one point one million dollars This past season.
- 3:54Speaker 1: He also coached linebackers. Was one of the first hires
- 3:59Speaker 1: for La Coast staff. He will go to Kentucky. Former
- 4:05Speaker 1: Michigan football coach Sharon Moore remains in custody in the
- 4:10Speaker 1: suspect an alleged assault. He is expected to be arraigned
- 4:15Speaker 1: tomorrow at Pittsfield Township, Michigan. The Washtontah County Prosecutor's office
- 4:24Speaker 1: says it does not expect a decision on the criminal
- 4:28Speaker 1: charges today. Authorities have not yet released details of his arrest.
- 4:35Speaker 1: He was incarcerated in the Washingtonaw County jail yesterday, hours
- 4:41Speaker 1: after being fired as the football coach at Michigan in
- 4:45Speaker 1: what was called an inappropriate relationship with the staff member.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Reports today indicate there was an altercation at that person's
- 4:56Speaker 1: house following Moore's fi wring.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 5:03Speaker 1: An attorney, although I have several friends who are. It
- 5:09Speaker 1: seems a little odd that he has not bonded out
- 5:15Speaker 1: and remains in jail right now. I'm not sure. There
- 5:22Speaker 1: were also reports of some emotional issues as well, which
- 5:29Speaker 1: would make this case even sadder than it already is.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We will, I guess, find out more details, and we
- 5:37Speaker 1: will find out the nature of the charges tomorrow when
- 5:42Speaker 1: he appears in court. Yahoo Sports Ross Dellinger says that
- 5:50Speaker 1: as part of a memorandum of understanding signed by the
- 5:54Speaker 1: CFP last spring, Notre Dame was guaranteed a playoff spot
- 5:58Speaker 1: if it's ranked in the top twelve that's beginning next year.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Should the playoff field expand to fourteen and additional ad
- 6:09Speaker 1: large purse are added. The Irish would be a locked
- 6:13Speaker 1: for a spot if they're ranked thirteenth or higher, but
- 6:18Speaker 1: athletic directors and other programs, according to Yahoo's Dan Walkin,
- 6:24Speaker 1: don't like that they're threatening to freeze Notre Dame out
- 6:29Speaker 1: of future schedules. I don't know if that holds any
- 6:38Speaker 1: future discussions at all, but we shall see. The twenty
- 6:43Speaker 1: twenty eight Olympics may force USC football out of the
- 6:49Speaker 1: La Colisseum, where they have played since nineteen twenty three.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Reports indicate the Trojans may have to play their home
- 7:00Speaker 1: football games at Sofi Stadium after the Olympics. Why well,
- 7:07Speaker 1: there's a chance that the one hundred million dollars temporary
- 7:12Speaker 1: track And that's just me, but it seems like a
- 7:16Speaker 1: lot of money for a track. That track will be
- 7:20Speaker 1: torn down after the Olympics, but it's being built on
- 7:25Speaker 1: top of the football field, which is a natural surface.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It won't be torn down until July thirtieth closing ceremony,
- 7:37Speaker 1: but the playing surface was would have to be restored
- 7:41Speaker 1: in basically six weeks to get it ready for the
- 7:45Speaker 1: football season, which seems a little unlikely. And the Texas
- 7:52Speaker 1: Rangers have lost one of their mainstay relievers from a
- 7:56Speaker 1: year ago. Hoby Milner has signed a one year contract
- 8:01Speaker 1: with the Cubs where three point seventy five million. Milner,
- 8:06Speaker 1: who's thirty four, appeared in a team leading seventy three
- 8:11Speaker 1: games for the Rangers last year. All right, um, I'll
- 8:18Speaker 1: catch up on a little bit of what's going on.
- 8:22Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break. We're gonna hear from coach Elko,
- 8:26Speaker 1: among other things coming up after the final lap. Brought
- 8:31Speaker 1: to you by Chad Jones Law.
- 8:34Speaker 4: I'm Chad Jones. We know sports injuries hurt, and so
- 8:37Speaker 4: do injuries from car rex. But you didn't sign up
- 8:40Speaker 4: to be in a car wreck with someone who wasn't
- 8:41Speaker 4: paying attention. It was their fault and now you're left
- 8:44Speaker 4: to deal with the consequences. You need to see a
- 8:46Speaker 4: doctor and you're missing work. Chad Jones Law can help.

- 9:17Speaker 5: three series will race on the Navy base on Coronado.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Here's seven time Cup Series champion and San Diego native
- 9:26Speaker 5: Jimmy Johnson.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Yeah, this is really exciting. I honestly didn't think that
- 9:32Speaker 6: NASCAR would ever be able to race in San Diego,
- 9:36Speaker 6: you know, growing up in Elkohoon and watching it develop
- 9:39Speaker 6: and change so much in watching Alcohol's Feedway, Sedley go Away.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Just the reality or thought of NASCAR in a traditional
- 9:48Speaker 6: sense on an oval in San Diego, it just never
- 9:51Speaker 6: seemed possible. And when Chicago came on the schedule, I
- 9:56Speaker 6: was like, I wonder what other cities might be able
- 9:59Speaker 6: to host most NASCAR event, And not long after I
- 10:03Speaker 6: learned that there was some interest in and around San Diego.
- 10:05Speaker 6: And to see this all come together now, I am
- 10:08Speaker 6: so excited to have a race back in my hometown
- 10:11Speaker 6: and happy to be here on the call today. Is

- 12:32Speaker 1: and we have to go to Apple Plus to see it.
- 12:35Speaker 1: There's just something un American about that. Sixty years and
- 12:41Speaker 1: like two years ago, the weasels at CBS sold Charlie
- 12:45Speaker 1: Brown to.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Apple.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Well, I don't have Apple, I don't want to buy Apple.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I want to see Charlie Brown Christmas. The whole thing
- 13:01Speaker 1: just stinks. Have I said that before? Coming up? In fact,
- 13:13Speaker 1: while I'm thinking about this, jet can we do the

- 15:01Speaker 1: didn't warn you, because I did. Tomorrow, Kirk Bowles and
- 15:06Speaker 1: I will visit about football stuff and then young Ryan
- 15:13Speaker 1: will be in. I'm not sure what he has planned
- 15:18Speaker 1: for you Monday. We'll be back with a fresh, new show.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And in fact, we're running out of shows for twenty
- 15:27Speaker 1: twenty five. You need to tell all, well, you need
- 15:32Speaker 1: to tell your friend that we're running out of shows
- 15:37Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five. A week from today will be
- 15:40Speaker 1: our final twenty twenty five show. We will be back
- 15:45Speaker 1: next year, at least that's the plan as of today. Okay, Monday,
- 15:54Speaker 1: coach Elko visited with reporters and answered some questions. We
- 15:59Speaker 1: carried that live as we have throughout the season on
- 16:03Speaker 1: the Zone. We played part of what he had to
- 16:07Speaker 1: say on Monday. Let's listen in to some other things.
- 16:13Speaker 11: Mike's talked about Miami's offense, you know, but on defense,
- 16:16Speaker 11: and you've talked about how many NFL guys are on
- 16:19Speaker 11: this roster. Just kind of challenges does that defense present
- 16:22Speaker 11: and does it remind you Is it similar to maybe
- 16:25Speaker 11: an opponent you've already played.
- 16:27Speaker 12: Yeah, no, I try not to draw a lot of similarities.
- 16:30Speaker 12: I think it's the best combination of defensive ends that
- 16:33Speaker 12: we've seen, you know, in my time here, probably going
- 16:36Speaker 12: all the way back to twenty eighteen. These two kids
- 16:39Speaker 12: can absolutely destroy a game, and they're really really talented,
- 16:42Speaker 12: and then they've got a lot of really big, long,
- 16:45Speaker 12: athletic inside bodies. I think they've only given up seventy
- 16:49Speaker 12: nine runs of four yards or more in twelve games.
- 16:52Speaker 12: So that's unbelievably impressive in terms of how they're controlling
- 16:55Speaker 12: the line of scrimmage. And then there's just a lot
- 16:58Speaker 12: of length and athleticism in the back two levels of
- 17:01Speaker 12: the defense. And so they're really really talented. I don't
- 17:04Speaker 12: think they've given up twenty points and over about a
- 17:06Speaker 12: month and a half, and so yeah, it'll be a
- 17:09Speaker 12: big challenge for our offense.
- 17:11Speaker 13: Question from Donna in the bag, Coach, you touch on
- 17:13Speaker 13: a little bit earlier with their energy at practice today
- 17:16Speaker 13: and being able to kind of turn the page. How
- 17:19Speaker 13: pleased are you with their response after facing a little
- 17:21Speaker 13: bit of adversity knowing what they have ahead.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's what we're trained for.
- 17:25Speaker 12: You know, it's obviously every time it happens, you're excited
- 17:28Speaker 12: that it happens, but certainly expected to.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I think and I've said this before.
- 17:33Speaker 12: I think the natural reaction to things is usually a
- 17:36Speaker 12: little bit different than what everybody anticipates them being. You know,
- 17:40Speaker 12: I think the natural reaction to not getting done what
- 17:43Speaker 12: you want to get done is usually kind of a
- 17:46Speaker 12: new energy and new intensity, a new focus to improve
- 17:51Speaker 12: and get better. And that's just usually how it works
- 17:53Speaker 12: in this sport. And so happy to see that from
- 17:56Speaker 12: our guys, but certainly anticipated that would.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Be the case.
- 17:59Speaker 14: Left side middle to Mattias and then Matthew, then Aiden,
- 18:03Speaker 14: what have you seen from Malachai Tony?
- 18:05Speaker 15: And then from a kind of schematic perspective, what kind
- 18:07Speaker 15: of difficulties does a guy who they move around the
- 18:09Speaker 15: formation kind of present you?
- 18:11Speaker 12: Yeah, what an unbelievably talented football player. They move him
- 18:15Speaker 12: all around, They're very creative, and how to get him
- 18:17Speaker 12: the football. He's electric when he gets in his hands.
- 18:21Speaker 12: For a young kid, he runs routes exceptionally well, he
- 18:25Speaker 12: makes contested catches and so yeah, he's an absolute dude
- 18:30Speaker 12: of a young player and certainly will grow into be,
- 18:33Speaker 12: you know, a top five pick, I'm sure before this
- 18:35Speaker 12: thing's all over.
- 18:36Speaker 3: And so.
- 18:38Speaker 12: You know, and then when you don't, you can't identify
- 18:40Speaker 12: where he's.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Going to be all the time.
- 18:42Speaker 12: Obviously, that makes it that makes it a lot more
- 18:44Speaker 12: challenging for a defense to find ways to leverage him
- 18:47Speaker 12: and corral him and so certainly have our hands full
- 18:50Speaker 12: with him.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Matthew from the Delfory News.
- 18:52Speaker 15: You talked about this being the first step for this
- 18:55Speaker 15: team and talk about this season about creating the mindset
- 18:58Speaker 15: with the players that they have ability to make game
- 19:01Speaker 15: winning plays. What is it like talking to them now
- 19:04Speaker 15: that they have the ability to win games in the
- 19:06Speaker 15: college football playoff?
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's all the same.
- 19:09Speaker 12: I think the magnitude is larger, the process is the same,
- 19:14Speaker 12: and so you know, what it takes from a mentality standpoint,
- 19:17Speaker 12: is us executing championship level football at the rate we
- 19:21Speaker 12: need to to be successful. That's regardless of who, when,
- 19:24Speaker 12: how you play the game of football. Obviously, the challenge
- 19:28Speaker 12: is the opponent makes it a lot more challenging, The
- 19:31Speaker 12: magnitude of the game makes it a lot more challenging.
- 19:33Speaker 12: The finality of it all makes it a lot more challenging.
- 19:36Speaker 12: And so it's controlling all of that and still focusing
- 19:39Speaker 12: on the things that ultimately will matter when it comes
- 19:41Speaker 12: to me and successful. And so again, we've been in
- 19:45Speaker 12: this stage quite a few times since I've been here.
- 19:47Speaker 12: We've had our successes, we've had our failures. It's excited
- 19:50Speaker 12: to get out there and get another opportunity to play
- 19:52Speaker 12: a big football game.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Aside to aid and from student radio.
- 19:56Speaker 14: So one of the major concerns what this past game
- 19:59Speaker 14: was special teams. The field goal percentage for this season
- 20:03Speaker 14: was lowest since twenty twelve. What is that conversation going
- 20:06Speaker 14: to look like for y'all on deciding kicking duties for
- 20:09Speaker 14: this next game going into the playoffs.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we'll make that decision when the time
- 20:14Speaker 3: is right, you know.
- 20:16Speaker 12: I think trying to do the best we can to
- 20:18Speaker 12: get both of those guys into a place where they're
- 20:21Speaker 12: capable of performing at the level they're capable of performing
- 20:24Speaker 12: ahead and there certainly both of them want to go
- 20:27Speaker 12: out there and be very, very successful, and so we'll
- 20:30Speaker 12: kind of see what that looks like here through the
- 20:31Speaker 12: next couple of weeks.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Have I missed any questions. Let's go back to go
- 20:36Speaker 3: Cease on the left side from the Eagle.
- 20:37Speaker 16: You mentioned a coach, you've got to play four good games,
- 20:41Speaker 16: not tight so to speak. When you look back at
- 20:43Speaker 16: the Texas game, did you think some of the players
- 20:45Speaker 16: played tight or is that just a product when your
- 20:47Speaker 16: rober game is maybe a little bit different than any
- 20:50Speaker 16: other game.
- 20:51Speaker 12: Yeah, I think it's Yeah, I think it's just a
- 20:52Speaker 12: product of playing good football teams.
- 20:55Speaker 17: You know.
- 20:56Speaker 12: I think at the end of the day, they made
- 20:59Speaker 12: more plays than we in the second half, and you know,
- 21:01Speaker 12: there's a lot of reasons for that from our end,
- 21:04Speaker 12: But at the end of the day, that's going to
- 21:06Speaker 12: happen at times when you play in this league and
- 21:08Speaker 12: you play night games on the road in this league.
- 21:11Speaker 3: It's just part of it. And so.
- 21:15Speaker 12: You know, it sucks the magnitude of it. It sucks
- 21:17Speaker 12: that it happened against those guys, But I think sometimes
- 21:21Speaker 12: you just have to understand that it's going to happen
- 21:24Speaker 12: a little bit in this conference.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Just wrap it up with Alex Legal.
- 21:28Speaker 18: We've talked about move and calendar dates and whatnot, But
- 21:31Speaker 18: if this was a year ago, the transfer portal would
- 21:33Speaker 18: have opened tomorrow. Now it's not going to be open
- 21:36Speaker 18: until what the first week of January. Just I'm curious
- 21:38Speaker 18: now that it's here, how what your perspective is on
- 21:41Speaker 18: how that kind of unfolds as you guys are preparing
- 21:44Speaker 18: for a playoff game.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like what we're in is the best
- 21:47Speaker 3: we can get. I really do.
- 21:49Speaker 12: I feel like the windows that we have, the way
- 21:51Speaker 12: they're set up right now, it's the best we can get.
- 21:55Speaker 12: Everybody will continue to point out all of the fallacies
- 21:59Speaker 12: within the system, but there's not really a solution. Again,
- 22:03Speaker 12: I've said this on multiple occasions, but when you talk
- 22:06Speaker 12: about what we're actually trying to balance, which is a
- 22:09Speaker 12: TV contract that mandates games be played at a certain time,
- 22:14Speaker 12: in conjunction with academic calendars, in conjunction with two different
- 22:18Speaker 12: types of recruiting right high school and transfers, to try
- 22:21Speaker 12: to find a window to make all of that work
- 22:25Speaker 12: is not ideal. And again, I don't know how well
- 22:31Speaker 12: we actually study sometimes the reality of the world that
- 22:35Speaker 12: we're actually living in. And so, you know, for years
- 22:38Speaker 12: there have been coaching changes going on in the NFL
- 22:41Speaker 12: while the playoffs were going on. The beauty of it
- 22:44Speaker 12: is is it hasn't happened within the teams that are
- 22:47Speaker 12: currently playing, right that's just a different structure that we have.
- 22:54Speaker 12: You can't change free agency windows in college football because
- 22:58Speaker 12: you have semesters and when their start is critical, and
- 23:01Speaker 12: so I just think we're binded by a lot of
- 23:05Speaker 12: things that we can't fix and can't control, and so
- 23:08Speaker 12: from my perspective.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I think this is about as good as we could ask.
- 23:11Speaker 16: For advantage to the home team or.
- 23:15Speaker 12: Nah, not really, I think playing in Kyle Field is
- 23:17Speaker 12: an advantage to the home team. I'm excited for that.
- 23:21Speaker 12: I'm excited to see our students turn out. I'm excited
- 23:23Speaker 12: to see our fans turn out. It'll be really cool
- 23:25Speaker 12: to see that number post on the screen with how
- 23:27Speaker 12: many people showed up for an eleven am kick, because
- 23:29Speaker 12: I still think that's what makes college football unique here
- 23:32Speaker 12: at Texas A and M, and so I think that
- 23:35Speaker 12: more than anything.
- 23:37Speaker 1: It's Mike Elco. I noticed today that there will be
- 23:42Speaker 1: no public sale tickets. Everything is sold out between season
- 23:46Speaker 1: ticket renewals. What they have to give the visiting team
- 23:51Speaker 1: and student pull the requisite one hundred and five thousand
- 23:57Speaker 1: plus will be on hand a week from Saturday. They
- 24:00Speaker 1: released the TV eyeballs who were watching college football very interesting,
- 24:10Speaker 1: seventy games four million or more. That's up from a
- 24:16Speaker 1: year ago fifty nine games five million or more. And
- 24:23Speaker 1: thirteen times ten million are more. The most watched games
- 24:28Speaker 1: so far. Ohio State Michigan by one hundred thousand over Indiana,
- 24:37Speaker 1: Ohio State in the championship last Saturday night. Georgia Alabama
- 24:44Speaker 1: the SEC Championship through almost seventeen million, that was third.
- 24:51Speaker 1: The first game, Texas Ohio State through sixteen and a
- 24:54Speaker 1: half million was fourth. A and M Texas on that
- 24:58Speaker 1: Friday night and we already knew this drew over thirteen million.
- 25:03Speaker 1: That was the fifth most watched game. Unfortunately, that means
- 25:09Speaker 1: that game is staying on Friday night for the time being.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that's what that means. It was the
- 25:17Speaker 1: fifth most watched game. When you look at besides Fox
- 25:25Speaker 1: leading the first two Ohio State, Michigan and the Big
- 25:28Speaker 1: Ten Championship, and then they were number four on Texas
- 25:31Speaker 1: and Ohio State. I mean, ABC and ESPN just dominate
- 25:43Speaker 1: up to the top fifty dominate, and when you look
- 25:47Speaker 1: at teams that dominate, no surprise, Georgia's on the list.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Alabama is on the list. I think Texas had five games.
- 26:05Speaker 1: A and M had four games. Beside the A and
- 26:10Speaker 1: M Texas game, the second most watched A and M
- 26:15Speaker 1: game was A and M LSU that was a Saturday
- 26:18Speaker 1: night game on ABC. The A and M Notre Dame
- 26:23Speaker 1: game on NBC was the thirty fourth most watched game
- 26:31Speaker 1: with over six million. The A and M Missouri game
- 26:36Speaker 1: on ABC. That was an afternoon game.
- 26:39Speaker 11: I think, wasn't it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Four point eight million? Okay? But NBC, which you know
- 26:52Speaker 1: is the network of record for Notre Dame, it didn't
- 26:56Speaker 1: do so good. And you know, Notre Dame jumping up
- 27:01Speaker 1: and down and acting like they still bring lots of
- 27:04Speaker 1: eyeballs to the sets. The numbers prove otherwise. The numbers
- 27:10Speaker 1: prove still it's the big ten in the SEC that
- 27:14Speaker 1: bring eyeballs to the sets. Let's see, I saw the
- 27:22Speaker 1: Big twelve championship game here somewhere was sixteenth overall nine
- 27:31Speaker 1: million viewers, which is really good considering it was an
- 27:36Speaker 1: eleven am kickoff. But nine million was the most watched
- 27:42Speaker 1: Big twelve game. And that was the championship game. And
- 27:45Speaker 1: that was on ABC. And ABC is going to and
- 27:50Speaker 1: Fox and CBS and NBC generally speaking, are going to
- 27:55Speaker 1: dominate over cable. The most watched e SPN game TCU
- 28:05Speaker 1: North Carolina was thirty six on the list. Remember that
- 28:09Speaker 1: was a Monday night Labor Day game Bill Belichick's debut,
- 28:16Speaker 1: and that was a blowout. But that was the most
- 28:20Speaker 1: watched game on ESPN at number thirty six with just
- 28:24Speaker 1: over six million viewers. So if you know all the programs,
- 28:33Speaker 1: you want your team on networks. Everybody's excited about ESPN
- 28:39Speaker 1: night games. But the bottom line is ABC night games
- 28:43Speaker 1: are what you want in the SEC. But the SEC
- 28:51Speaker 1: just and it should be no surprise, they just dominated
- 28:55Speaker 1: these numbers all the way down to fifty. Like I said,
- 29:00Speaker 1: a and in Missouri is fifty. The egg Bowl that
- 29:04Speaker 1: was an eleven AM game that was forty ninth on
- 29:06Speaker 1: the list. So not so much, all right, I'll give
- 29:12Speaker 1: you an idea of how many people are watching and
- 29:14Speaker 1: what they are watching in college football. But CBS's give
- 29:22Speaker 1: up of the SEC not too smart. We already knew that.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Not too smart. Sevcheck Service Center open right now until

- 31:25Speaker 20: When the Eagles offense looks wrong is when they're right.
- 31:29Speaker 20: Every complaint was correct based on the way the offense looked,
- 31:33Speaker 20: but that's how they win.
- 31:35Speaker 1: When they looked wrong, they were right.
- 31:37Speaker 20: Now, when they're trying to look right, they go wrong.
- 31:41Speaker 20: Every time the offense looks bad previously is when they
- 31:44Speaker 20: have actually won games.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Unsportsmanlike.
- 31:47Speaker 7: Listen in weekday mornings from Flying to Adam is Zone
- 31:50Speaker 7: eleven fifty AM and ninety three point seven FM.
- 32:02Speaker 21: You Hilario sponsor I for wanting to visit with the
- 32:05Speaker 21: head girls basketball coach for the Madisonville Mustangs, Lenick Neely,
- 32:08Speaker 21: thank you for joining us.
- 32:09Speaker 1: How are you doing today?
- 32:11Speaker 22: I'm doing good.
- 32:13Speaker 21: You've you and your team have struggled a bit so
- 32:15Speaker 21: far this season. What are some areas you think your
- 32:17Speaker 21: team is struggling with the most?
- 32:20Speaker 22: Right now, we're struggling with side a lot. We don't
- 32:23Speaker 22: have a lot of you know, tall people, and we're
- 32:25Speaker 22: definitely struggling a struggling the area rebounding and rebounding and communication.
- 32:31Speaker 22: A lot of times they want to talk outside basketball,
- 32:33Speaker 22: but then when it comes to the court, were kind
- 32:34Speaker 22: of quiet, you know. So we're struggling in that area
- 32:38Speaker 22: and I think it coulda get way better on rebounding
- 32:42Speaker 22: and defense. The defensive areas where I'm where I'm worried at.
- 32:46Speaker 21: Yeah, what are some areas that you think your team
- 32:49Speaker 21: is doing well despite the challenges you face so far?
- 32:53Speaker 22: I think that we've overcome so much adversity because you know,
- 32:58Speaker 22: I lost my leading scorer who was averaging like eighteen
- 33:01Speaker 22: points a game. She tore her ato and so it
- 33:05Speaker 22: I had somebody else to have to step up. So
- 33:07Speaker 22: and I think that overall, you know, they work really hard,
- 33:10Speaker 22: and they go hard and they always finish the game.
- 33:13Speaker 22: And I have a couple of good leaders on my team.
- 33:16Speaker 22: Two of my returners two and my point guard has
- 33:19Speaker 22: been doing really really well. And I think we've done
- 33:21Speaker 22: well with shooting, but I know that shots on everything.
- 33:27Speaker 22: To me, I just feel like defense and rebounds is
- 33:29Speaker 22: more important. But overall, I think they were playing well
- 33:31Speaker 22: as a team. We're just getting better every day and
- 33:34Speaker 22: they work really hard, So I.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Can't You can't beat that.
- 33:37Speaker 21: Yeah, absolutely, And you talked a little bit about, you know,
- 33:41Speaker 21: players that have stepped up, who graduated last season that
- 33:45Speaker 21: left the big shoes to fill and who's stepped up
- 33:47Speaker 21: the season to fill those shoes. Is there anyone that
- 33:48Speaker 21: you'd like to call out, anyone that's been doing really
- 33:50Speaker 21: well or surprised you even?
- 33:53Speaker 23: Yes?
- 33:54Speaker 22: Actually my number one, her name is Keeley Green, and
- 33:57Speaker 22: she's about five to one. But home shooting has and
- 34:00Speaker 22: fabulous this year. Uh she really she's really been shooting
- 34:04Speaker 22: well from the behind the arc, the three pinner. She
- 34:06Speaker 22: at least makes at least like two two threes of games,
- 34:09Speaker 22: and she's really stepped up bothally and she pushes them.
- 34:13Speaker 22: And I also have a return of that. Also our
- 34:15Speaker 22: defensive starter, which is our beous defensive player who is
- 34:18Speaker 22: Her name is Martin Major, and she's a she's a
- 34:21Speaker 22: junior this year and so, and she really gets us
- 34:23Speaker 22: started on defense. She gets us a bunch of steels,
- 34:26Speaker 22: she works hard, she gets us a bunch of offensive
- 34:28Speaker 22: rebounds when we do get them. She's the one who
- 34:30Speaker 22: usually works works hard for a little game. And also
- 34:34Speaker 22: I have another one, my senior, Kei Maya Done, which
- 34:37Speaker 22: is also another shooter. She's been doing well. She's been
- 34:40Speaker 22: doing more than just shooting. She's dropping to the basket,
- 34:43Speaker 22: she's making plays high IQ. So I got a couple
- 34:46Speaker 22: of good a couple of great players on my team.
- 34:49Speaker 22: And I'm very thankful to have more than too, you know,
- 34:51Speaker 22: more than one, more than one or two.
- 34:53Speaker 21: So yeah, absolutely, you talked about, you know, some of
- 34:57Speaker 21: the main seniors. How many seniors do you have when
- 34:59Speaker 21: you team this year? Who's leaving the season that's going
- 35:02Speaker 21: to be difficult to replace?
- 35:04Speaker 22: Oh my god, I have I have a big three.
- 35:07Speaker 22: So and the girl toy THEO, she'll be back. Her
- 35:10Speaker 22: name is Quenega Saper and she'll be She supposed to
- 35:12Speaker 22: coming back in January. And I have the other two,
- 35:15Speaker 22: which is number one Killey Green, and then number two,
- 35:18Speaker 22: I mean then number four Keimyya Done, who's who's going
- 35:21Speaker 22: to be graduating. And they've been playing together since they
- 35:24Speaker 22: were little and so I always called him the Big
- 35:27Speaker 22: three three and so they have been really good, and
- 35:31Speaker 22: they all were freshman on varsity and so they know
- 35:34Speaker 22: what to expect, and they very experienced and they bring
- 35:37Speaker 22: a lot to the game. So replacing them is going
- 35:39Speaker 22: to be big, esperentially when you're losing your point guard
- 35:41Speaker 22: and she's a quarterback.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 35:45Speaker 21: If you had to choose, which opponent do you think
- 35:47Speaker 21: is given your team the hardest time this season? And
- 35:49Speaker 21: where do you think they challenged you the most?
- 35:53Speaker 22: The art well we had we went to a tournament
- 35:57Speaker 22: in Dallas with all five and six ads, So I
- 36:01Speaker 22: think that was a real circle for it, because you know,
- 36:03Speaker 22: in five days they have a lot of hyps. So
- 36:06Speaker 22: we played a six three girl, and man, that was
- 36:09Speaker 22: a challenge. It was hard to stop her because she
- 36:11Speaker 22: was kind of like a you know, like a KD
- 36:13Speaker 22: someone is tall, pull up and three for the jumper
- 36:16Speaker 22: and everything. She had all had an all around game
- 36:18Speaker 22: so she was really hard to stop. So I think
- 36:19Speaker 22: our team that we played in Dallas and that name
- 36:22Speaker 22: was Friendship and she's actually a technic tick committed and man,
- 36:25Speaker 22: yes he was very hard to stop, but she was
- 36:27Speaker 22: a great player.
- 36:28Speaker 21: Yeah, you faced rock Wall in your last game. What
- 36:32Speaker 21: do you think went well and where do you think
- 36:34Speaker 21: your team was challenged?
- 36:37Speaker 22: We went well? Is that I think that we started running,
- 36:40Speaker 22: we started executing our offense and law, and that's another
- 36:44Speaker 22: one of our circles to is executing our offense when
- 36:46Speaker 22: the person was on. And I think that we gave
- 36:48Speaker 22: them a lot of pressures. But it's hard for us
- 36:51Speaker 22: to stop, you know, a girl to attacking. It's hard
- 36:55Speaker 22: for us to slide over right now, and that's what
- 36:57Speaker 22: we're struggling with. And they had a girl that was
- 36:59Speaker 22: going to the high post and attacking every single time,
- 37:02Speaker 22: and even when we tried to crash, we were still favel.
- 37:04Speaker 22: Then you just need to learn do better with moving
- 37:06Speaker 22: our feet and you know, fundamentally, we need to do
- 37:09Speaker 22: better and just going straight up because a lot of
- 37:10Speaker 22: times they tried to be shot blockers and he was
- 37:12Speaker 22: killing us because we kept failing. So, yeah, we gotta
- 37:16Speaker 22: play smart.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I got you.
- 37:18Speaker 21: You faced Lorena next, that'll be today.
- 37:22Speaker 3: What are you expecting playing them already?
- 37:24Speaker 1: Oh you did? Oh well, how did that go?
- 37:27Speaker 22: We ended up losing by I think it was thirteen.
- 37:29Speaker 22: I think that I think they were very beatable. I
- 37:32Speaker 22: think that we came out very, very slow, and we
- 37:35Speaker 22: had a we think that versity yesterday and we're trying
- 37:37Speaker 22: to overcome it today with to probably come out later on.
- 37:40Speaker 22: But yeah, I'm not going to say that. It's kind
- 37:42Speaker 22: of bad. I'm not gonna say what really what happened,
- 37:44Speaker 22: But yeah, so we had to talk face adversity this
- 37:46Speaker 22: morning and I had to start of I had to
- 37:48Speaker 22: start up with the new lineup, and we started off
- 37:50Speaker 22: really slow and we got down ten. Oh and then
- 37:52Speaker 22: I saw the time out, of course, and I think
- 37:55Speaker 22: I thought was bad, and you know, you did yourself
- 37:57Speaker 22: in the whole. It's kind of hard to come out
- 37:58Speaker 22: and never really we're a good team and they were
- 38:00Speaker 22: some great shooters and we didn't really get started playing
- 38:03Speaker 22: until the second half, and you know, it's hard to
- 38:05Speaker 22: come back in the second half. But yeah, I hopefully
- 38:08Speaker 22: we get to see him again. I'm gonna say that
- 38:10Speaker 22: because I just feel like that. That wasn't a game
- 38:12Speaker 22: and we had to get used to a new lineup,
- 38:14Speaker 22: and you know, it was our first day with no
- 38:16Speaker 22: practice without that lineup. So yeah, I think we would
- 38:18Speaker 22: do better if we get to face him again. We
- 38:20Speaker 22: might have a tan to so I'm excited about that.
- 38:23Speaker 21: Yeah, that'll be interesting. For these last couple of questions,
- 38:27Speaker 21: I want to pivot to coaching questions. You played as
- 38:29Speaker 21: a forward in college. What experience do you think that
- 38:31Speaker 21: time gave you that has helped you and informed your
- 38:33Speaker 21: decisions as a coach today.
- 38:37Speaker 22: I try to look because me playing as a forward,
- 38:40Speaker 22: I was actually kind of like a shorter forward because
- 38:42Speaker 22: I'm only five to ten. But I was very athletic.
- 38:45Speaker 22: And I look at my team and we have some
- 38:47Speaker 22: very athletic girls and they're shorter, and so that's why
- 38:49Speaker 22: I tell them to think smarter, not harder. So you
- 38:52Speaker 22: have to use your You have to use your basketball
- 38:54Speaker 22: too when you know when you're shorter. So with me,
- 38:57Speaker 22: I de trided to put them in the best positions
- 38:59Speaker 22: for them, you know, and I know the best positions
- 39:01Speaker 22: for me, which a lot of times that that was
- 39:03Speaker 22: me facing up because I am shorter and you know,
- 39:06Speaker 22: not trying to do back to basket things, but actually
- 39:08Speaker 22: facing up and trying to take somebody, you know, take
- 39:10Speaker 22: somebody off the dribble. So I just try to put
- 39:12Speaker 22: them in good positions. And it just taught me a lot.
- 39:15Speaker 22: Playing talent basketball, you just get to see a lot
- 39:18Speaker 22: of different IQs. You get to see people just like you,
- 39:21Speaker 22: and so I tried to I try to tell them, like,
- 39:23Speaker 22: you gotta do something different that separates you from those girls,
- 39:26Speaker 22: because somebody's going to be just like you or even better,
- 39:29Speaker 22: you know what separates you.
- 39:31Speaker 21: Yeah, last question for you here, coach, how do you
- 39:34Speaker 21: you as a coach to find success both on and
- 39:36Speaker 21: off the court besides just wins and losses.
- 39:41Speaker 22: It's funny because my mentor, my old coach, he just
- 39:45Speaker 22: sexed me the other day and told me that it's
- 39:47Speaker 22: not about wins and losses, it's about you know, getting
- 39:51Speaker 22: better and you know, and I said, I'm I've been
- 39:54Speaker 22: frustrated because we have been struggling this season, but I
- 39:58Speaker 22: try to look at the little things and growth. So I,
- 40:01Speaker 22: you know, if we didn't, I say, we get out
- 40:04Speaker 22: rebound the last game and we come back and we
- 40:06Speaker 22: our rebounded team. The second quarter. You know, I'm happy.
- 40:08Speaker 22: I always try to look for the little things and
- 40:11Speaker 22: it's gonna be a lot of negatives, but you have
- 40:12Speaker 22: to point out the positives because I mean, you don't
- 40:15Speaker 22: want to have a negative, negative team. So I always
- 40:17Speaker 22: try to do the little things. If they're talking, they're switching,
- 40:20Speaker 22: if they're rebounding, we're hustling, we're getting back and putting
- 40:23Speaker 22: the ball. I just like to see the good things
- 40:25Speaker 22: all the time.
- 40:26Speaker 1: So you know, yeah, absolutely, very well.
- 40:29Speaker 21: Put Thank you so much for your time.
- 40:31Speaker 9: Thank you, yes man.

- 43:30Speaker 29: Meanwhile, as the Texans have enjoyed a five game winning streak,
- 43:33Speaker 29: some national outlets have taken notice. Head coach Tamiko Ryans

- 43:39Speaker 29: My Take this week and was asked how he keeps
- 43:41Speaker 29: his team humble in the midst of the winning streak.
- 43:43Speaker 30: For me, man, as we watch field and as I
- 43:45Speaker 30: go through it always, you know, I keep him even
- 43:48Speaker 30: killed and understand there's still a lot of things we
- 43:50Speaker 30: have to clean up, even though guys are doing a
- 43:52Speaker 30: great job of doing the most important thing and that's winning.
- 43:55Speaker 30: But there's still a lot of lessons to be learned
- 43:57Speaker 30: even in the wins that we have, and I'm always
- 43:59Speaker 30: seeking that improvements.

- 46:16Speaker 1: down in Houston. The Lombardi Award was given out. One
- 46:21Speaker 1: of the finalists, Cash is holl who has had a
- 46:24Speaker 1: terrific year for the Aggies. One of the big reasons
- 46:29Speaker 1: they're eleven to one and going into the playoffs next Saturday.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Prior I believe to giving out the award, which was
- 46:42Speaker 1: won by Texas tex linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. Howe visited with
- 46:48Speaker 1: several members of the media, including some of the local media.
- 46:59Speaker 3: What does it mean for you to to be here
- 47:00Speaker 3: and be a a finals for this moment?
- 47:02Speaker 24: Uh?
- 47:02Speaker 32: It it it means the world to me, you know,
- 47:04Speaker 32: you know, just it's been it's been such a long
- 47:06Speaker 32: time coming. You know, I've you know, went through you
- 47:08Speaker 32: know a lot of ups and downs to get to
- 47:09Speaker 32: this point, you know, my last year, and I'm just
- 47:11Speaker 32: glad that I was able to you know, uh be
- 47:13Speaker 32: able to to put myself in a and the right
- 47:15Speaker 32: opportunities and uh put myself in the right position to
- 47:18Speaker 32: to be able to be a finals for this word
- 47:19Speaker 32: and to you know, I thank God and it's it's
- 47:21Speaker 32: it's a blessing.
- 47:22Speaker 15: But what What's what clicked between last year and this
- 47:24Speaker 15: year that that really put you in this position?
- 47:27Speaker 24: Uh?
- 47:27Speaker 32: I think, honestly, Uh, a off season just just overall
- 47:32Speaker 32: off season, you know, I kind of you know, going
- 47:34Speaker 32: into you know, like I said, my last year in
- 47:35Speaker 32: my college career, you know, I uh I I knew,
- 47:38Speaker 32: you know, I had to leave it all out, uh
- 47:39Speaker 32: on on the line.
- 47:40Speaker 3: You know, because I know would never get opportunity to
- 47:42Speaker 3: to play colleg football again.
- 47:43Speaker 32: So you know, I was just really very intentional as
- 47:46Speaker 32: far as you know, my just uh getting bigger, faster, stronger,
- 47:49Speaker 32: you know, perfecting my craft, just just just honestly just
- 47:52Speaker 32: doing everything that I could to you know, maximize my
- 47:55Speaker 32: my potential, maximize the successful.
- 47:57Speaker 3: This a season and I feel like, you know, ultimately
- 47:59Speaker 3: a year paid off.
- 48:00Speaker 1: You know they talk about like a like a Heisman number.
- 48:02Speaker 30: If you had a party, know this this year, what would.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I think? That's a good question. I think maybe I
- 48:08Speaker 3: feel like my Lombardy remember would be the the LSU game.
- 48:12Speaker 32: I feel like just going into that game, you know,
- 48:14Speaker 32: we just we still as a team, you know, kind
- 48:16Speaker 32: of didn't have a lot of respect. You know, people
- 48:18Speaker 32: were kind of uh, you know, they're still just just
- 48:20Speaker 32: doubting us. And I feel like going into that game,
- 48:22Speaker 32: you know, I was just I feel like I was
- 48:24Speaker 32: just on kind of a different wave linked and you know,
- 48:27Speaker 32: I just was going out there was very intentional and like, well, ultimately, uh,
- 48:32Speaker 32: I was just thankful to that I helped put myself
- 48:34Speaker 32: or put my team in a position.
- 48:35Speaker 3: To to win, not the not the three sacks, bro,
- 48:38Speaker 3: And yeah, that was that was a good play too.
- 48:41Speaker 3: You know, obviously I never did anything like that.
- 48:43Speaker 32: I think that that that's also could be, you know,
- 48:45Speaker 32: maybe an honorable mission for sure.
- 48:47Speaker 11: What's it like being you know, right now, you're you're
- 48:50Speaker 11: leading to the sec in sacks and yeah, you're in
- 48:53Speaker 11: the likes of like Miles here when it comes to
- 48:54Speaker 11: a and m you know, the most sacks of the
- 48:57Speaker 11: season since Miles here. What's it like just to be
- 48:59Speaker 11: been mentioned in the same sentence as guys like that?
- 49:01Speaker 32: I mean, you know, it's it's such an honor and
- 49:03Speaker 32: such a blessing, you know, Like I said, you know,
- 49:05Speaker 32: I've been through just for my career at this point,
- 49:08Speaker 32: you know, I've been through a lot of ups and downs.
- 49:09Speaker 32: Uh so to now have the you know, kind of
- 49:12Speaker 32: pinnacle of my college career, you know, I'm I'm glad
- 49:15Speaker 32: to be able to be in the same type of
- 49:16Speaker 32: conversations as guys like that.
- 49:18Speaker 3: So, you know, I'm just an honor and a blessing.
- 49:20Speaker 3: And I'm just I'm just thinking, what's it like.
- 49:22Speaker 11: I mean, you have the individual success this season, but
- 49:24Speaker 11: it's kind of married with the team success years. I mean,
- 49:28Speaker 11: just what that's been like the obviously it feels good
- 49:31Speaker 11: to have the individual success, but also as a team one.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Years in there.
- 49:34Speaker 32: Yeah, i mean obviously, you know, like you said, you
- 49:35Speaker 32: know the individual successes, you know, the sacks and things
- 49:38Speaker 32: of that nature. You know, it is great, but uh,
- 49:39Speaker 32: you know, ultimately what matters at the end of the days,
- 49:42Speaker 32: you know, getting to win. And I'm just glad that,
- 49:44Speaker 32: you know, we were able to to come together this year,
- 49:47Speaker 32: you know, put in a great offseason as a as
- 49:49Speaker 32: a team, you know, all three phases of football, and
- 49:52Speaker 32: just be able to come out and you know do
- 49:54Speaker 32: do something that you know, not not not many other
- 49:57Speaker 32: and M teams have ever did in the history of
- 49:59Speaker 32: the school. So you know, I'm just just I'm just
- 50:01Speaker 32: thankful for this team and thankful for that for the
- 50:04Speaker 32: strong bond and the strong group of guys that we.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Have this ship.
- 50:07Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, the first St. A and M TAM
- 50:08Speaker 11: ever to make a playoffs is yeah, So what does
- 50:10Speaker 11: that mean to you? And then what was your reaction
- 50:13Speaker 11: their selection knowing that you guys were hosting.
- 50:15Speaker 1: That first Yeah?
- 50:16Speaker 32: Yeah, obviously, you know, like you said, first first and
- 50:19Speaker 32: M team to ever, you know, get the playoffs.
- 50:21Speaker 3: You know, I'm it's it's great, you know, whenever we
- 50:24Speaker 3: realize that, you know, we were gonna play at Miami
- 50:26Speaker 3: at home.
- 50:27Speaker 32: Uh, you know, just kind of you know, we obviously
- 50:30Speaker 32: we had a bad taste in our mouth from the
- 50:31Speaker 32: from the last regular season game we played against Texas,
- 50:33Speaker 32: and uh, you know, I feel like we kind of
- 50:36Speaker 32: all kind of got that sense of relief that you know,
- 50:38Speaker 32: we're able to you know, put the ball down once
- 50:40Speaker 32: more and we don't have to leave off the twenty
- 50:43Speaker 32: twenty five season with that type of taste in our mouth,
- 50:45Speaker 32: and we have the opportunity for redemption to be able
- 50:48Speaker 32: to go and really showcase you.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Know, us as a full teams agree.
- 50:56Speaker 30: Okay, so Cash to actually get your reaction, what is
- 51:02Speaker 30: your reaction to being named the SEC Defensive Player of
- 51:05Speaker 30: the Year.
- 51:05Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 51:06Speaker 32: Yeah, I actually didn't know before you had told me,
- 51:10Speaker 32: you know, just a few minutes ago, but you know
- 51:12Speaker 32: what I mean, man, It's it is such an honor,
- 51:14Speaker 32: you know, just to I just keep going back to,
- 51:17Speaker 32: you know, my career and just the ups and downs
- 51:19Speaker 32: of my career. Like I just it really is just
- 51:22Speaker 32: kind of unbelievable feeling. To to be able to you know,
- 51:25Speaker 32: see yourself like you know, just just kind of see
- 51:29Speaker 32: yourself getting doubted by so many people, you know, being
- 51:32Speaker 32: under recruited, not not getting selected for for certain things
- 51:35Speaker 32: preseason things, and then just to be able to you know,
- 51:39Speaker 32: just just be be so resilient and to and to
- 51:41Speaker 32: persist through all the adversity into it just you know,
- 51:44Speaker 32: just end up coming out on the other side of it.
- 51:46Speaker 3: You know, It's just it's it's a great feeling.
- 51:47Speaker 32: And you know, I also want to thank you know,
- 51:49Speaker 32: my Lord of savor in Jesus Christ, for for putting me,
- 51:51Speaker 32: put me in this position, and you know, just just
- 51:54Speaker 32: just you know, just put me in the right positions,
- 51:57Speaker 32: put give me the right opportunities, and uh, you know,
- 51:59Speaker 32: I'm just thankful, honestly.
- 52:03Speaker 33: So, I'm not sure if you've already answered. Just as
- 52:05Speaker 33: far as being you know, a finalist for this award,
- 52:08Speaker 33: what to it mean to you to be you know,
- 52:09Speaker 33: up there with one of the best linebackers.
- 52:12Speaker 3: On the nation. Uh, yeah, you know it.
- 52:13Speaker 32: It's definitely a great feeling, you know, you know, this
- 52:15Speaker 32: award is very pre per very prestigious.
- 52:18Speaker 22: Uh.
- 52:18Speaker 3: You know, we learned a little bit of the history. Uh,
- 52:21Speaker 3: you know, just the background that goes into you.
- 52:22Speaker 32: Know, what actually allowed this award to come to be
- 52:26Speaker 32: and uh, you know, it's like I said, it's just
- 52:28Speaker 32: an honor. I'm very thankful to h to be here
- 52:31Speaker 32: with uh, you know, these other three great players you
- 52:33Speaker 32: know from other schools, and to just be able to
- 52:35Speaker 32: be recognized as you know, one of the finalists among
- 52:38Speaker 32: so many, like I said, such such great names as.
- 52:41Speaker 33: Far as uh, you know, what's a head now looking
- 52:43Speaker 33: back to that Texas game, just how much as how
- 52:46Speaker 33: does it fueled you guys?
- 52:47Speaker 32: Uh yeah, uh, like I was talking about, you know,
- 52:50Speaker 32: the playoffs and stuff like that. You know, obviously, uh,
- 52:52Speaker 32: the regular season game or our last regular season game,
- 52:55Speaker 32: you know, obviously ended with a with a bad taste
- 52:57Speaker 32: in our mouth. So the fact that we were able
- 52:59Speaker 32: to you know, obviously be blessed enough to be able
- 53:03Speaker 32: to put the ball down again and to be able
- 53:04Speaker 32: to redeem ourself and you know, it's definitely a great feeling.
- 53:08Speaker 32: You know, We're going into this you know game with
- 53:11Speaker 32: you know, being very intentional and you know, just just
- 53:14Speaker 32: making sure we do all the little things right. Dotting
- 53:17Speaker 32: our eyes, crossing our te's and just you know, just
- 53:20Speaker 32: just making sure that we do it.
- 53:21Speaker 33: And the last one for me it just as far
- 53:23Speaker 33: as your craft and personally being here tonight. You know,
- 53:27Speaker 33: I think I heard you earlier talk about you know,
- 53:28Speaker 33: being unrecruited. Just what your journey has been, like, how
- 53:32Speaker 33: would you summarize, you know what this kind of maybe
- 53:36Speaker 33: defines the type of prayer that you are.
- 53:38Speaker 32: Yeah, you know obviously you know, just after you know,
- 53:41Speaker 32: just just growing up and you know, just after you
- 53:47Speaker 32: kind of just realize that, you know, things it just
- 53:50Speaker 32: seemed what it seems like is you know, things just
- 53:52Speaker 32: usually don't go your way, and you know, it just
- 53:56Speaker 32: kind of it makes you It makes you grow hungrier
- 53:58Speaker 32: to to to like you know, figure out, like you know,
- 54:00Speaker 32: there's got to be more to this life than you know,
