- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, the podcast presented by Brett three
- 0:12Speaker 1: sixty five. We are part of the Action Network. Today
- 0:15Speaker 1: is our week seventeen, Tuesday NFL episode. I am Chad Milman,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Chief Content Officer of the Action Network. We are coming
- 0:23Speaker 1: off of a three and two week in our contest,
- 0:27Speaker 1: folks coming down and to the final days. We'll give
- 0:29Speaker 1: an update on that in a few minutes. We did
- 0:32Speaker 1: not have a Sunday show. It was Christmas Eve. We
- 0:35Speaker 1: all spent it with family and friends, as we are
- 0:37Speaker 1: supposed to do. We definitely were not sweating games. So
- 0:40Speaker 1: here's a very brief recap of winners, losers, good calls,
- 0:44Speaker 1: bad calls, big balls. Bet of the Week we went Tennessee.
- 0:48Speaker 1: The line when we made the call was plus two
- 0:50Speaker 1: and a half. The line moved to three and a half.
- 0:52Speaker 1: We were on the two and a half. We apologize
- 0:54Speaker 1: if you bet it in that moment. We hope you
- 0:56Speaker 1: got the three and a half. Eventually, exec decision, which
- 1:00Speaker 1: was a nanosecond of just calamity on my part. San
- 1:05Speaker 1: Francisco minus five and a half and moments later Simon
- 1:09Speaker 1: walk me back, but because the graphic could run and
- 1:11Speaker 1: Tito didn't want to change the graphic. We left it
- 1:13Speaker 1: at San Francisco minus five and a half, Simon says,
- 1:15Speaker 1: Carolina plus five. Nice job, Simon, Foxhall Atlanta minus two
- 1:19Speaker 1: and a half. Didn't matter. We got it done, okay.
- 1:23Speaker 1: On today's show, we will of course get to our
- 1:25Speaker 1: Simon sas and our exact decision. On Thursday, we will
- 1:28Speaker 1: finalize our big Balls Better than Week, our foxhol our survivor,
- 1:31Speaker 1: our moneyline parlay. Don't forget this episode. We will look
- 1:34Speaker 1: at the entire board. As we begin narrowing down. The
- 1:37Speaker 1: five picks will enter in the Favorites Podcast one hundred
- 1:41Speaker 1: thousand dollars Pro Football Pick Them contest, still free and
- 1:45Speaker 1: open first sign up, awarding weekly and season long cash
- 1:49Speaker 1: prizes at Favorites dot actionnetwork dot com. No joke, folks,
- 1:53Speaker 1: we are weeks away from giving the first place winner
- 1:55Speaker 1: of this contest forty g's just for signing up, free
- 1:59Speaker 1: contest given away. Forty g's let's bring in my co host,
- 2:03Speaker 1: my bff, my companion, Michael Padre, professional better, Simon Hunter
- 2:08Speaker 1: et Oh, Simon Simon Flowers Flowers, Flowers, Flowers. We were
- 2:18Speaker 1: right on the Ravens plus five and a half. You
- 2:20Speaker 1: never wavered, you walked me back. We had the Panthers
- 2:24Speaker 1: plus five and a half. We had the Titans plus
- 2:25Speaker 1: three and a half in the contest, got all those.
- 2:28Speaker 1: We were wrong on Arizona plus four and a half,
- 2:30Speaker 1: Dallas plus one and a half. Just for housekeeping purposes.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It was a tricky contest this week because Dallas got
- 2:38Speaker 1: up to two and a half in the contest, but
- 2:40Speaker 1: we didn't. We didn't change the lines because Carolina and
- 2:44Speaker 1: Arizona had moved to three and a half. We liked
- 2:46Speaker 1: those numbers better. We liked Atlanta all the way through.
- 2:48Speaker 1: That was one of the last ones out. Didn't like
- 2:51Speaker 1: the number because they had moved to a favorite. I
- 2:53Speaker 1: couldn't get you there in New England plus seven and
- 2:55Speaker 1: a half, which surprised me a lot. But in the end,
- 2:59Speaker 1: you're Keenans. Your professional acumen, your clear eyed assessments kept
- 3:03Speaker 1: me from making a massive emotional square mistake, and for that,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I salute you. Simon Hunter.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Yeah, fun weekend.
- 3:14Speaker 3: We had some great games, probably one of the best
- 3:17Speaker 3: weekends of Lions fans lives. Right, first division win in
- 3:22Speaker 3: their history. They never won the North before, which blew
- 3:25Speaker 3: my mind. I didn't realize that. But the last time
- 3:28Speaker 3: they won it, it was what the Central Division, It
- 3:31Speaker 3: wasn't the North I know that.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Ninety three, So yeah, that was just really cool.
- 3:40Speaker 3: As of a long suffering fan until I won a
- 3:42Speaker 3: super Bowl, it was the highlight of my life. I
- 3:46Speaker 3: feel like this is their super Bowl, right, they finally
- 3:49Speaker 3: won their division. They took it down, and they did
- 3:51Speaker 3: it the right way, like they built through the draft.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I mean two rookies, I think their first team in
- 3:57Speaker 3: NFL history have two rookies have nine touchdowns each in
- 4:03Speaker 3: crazy like I just remember looking back at the draft
- 4:05Speaker 3: being like, they shouldn't draft offensive guys, they should be
- 4:08Speaker 3: drafting defensive guys, and.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Then they did draft defensive guys, who were like, why
- 4:12Speaker 1: are they drafting these defensive guys?
- 4:15Speaker 3: It's just crazy where it's like they used their early
- 4:17Speaker 3: picks on these two offensive studs, and the returns that
- 4:20Speaker 3: got on the investment is they won their division in
- 4:23Speaker 3: the first year with them.
- 4:24Speaker 2: So yeah, fun, fun weekend of Betty.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Thank god we got the three and two brother because
- 4:30Speaker 3: we were sitting there too and oh, feeling pretty good
- 4:31Speaker 3: and then quickly were owing to it two and two
- 4:34Speaker 3: and she was like, oh my god, were really about
- 4:36Speaker 3: to go two and three again, but thank god Ravens
- 4:39Speaker 3: came through good read on the right side of a
- 4:41Speaker 3: winning number, And yeah, it's that was a fun Christmas
- 4:45Speaker 3: of games, like the Raiders game was great, Eagles game
- 4:48Speaker 3: ended up being really good, and then even though it
- 4:50Speaker 3: was a blowout, it was really exciting competitive game and
- 4:53Speaker 3: it was what a two to three point game and
- 4:54Speaker 3: a half. So yeah, for standalone games, that Christmas was
- 4:58Speaker 3: pretty damn fun show.

- 6:00Speaker 1: winners roundup through sixteen weeks, Simon, you and I forty
- 6:06Speaker 1: six and thirty four in the contest, twelve games over

- 6:20Speaker 1: just want to say one thing also, while we're doing this,
- 6:22Speaker 1: our record over the last two seasons one, twelve and
- 6:26Speaker 1: seventy three. I just looked at it in the Action
- 6:28Speaker 1: Network app this morning. Week sixteen saw just one hundred
- 6:32Speaker 1: and thirty two entries finished five zero in the contest.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We had a three way time for first place. Congratulations
- 6:38Speaker 1: to Lama Titan, Jay Labonte twenty two and Polysigar enjoy
- 6:44Speaker 1: the cash. This week's producer couple of Ward goes to
- 6:47Speaker 1: HJ Clark thirty three for finishing dead fucking last, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: the Week sixteen contests oh in five missing the tiebreaker

- 7:00Speaker 1: your prize non cash. Thanks for playing Week seventeen and
- 7:05Speaker 1: the contest is now live. The tiebreaker total rushing yards
- 7:09Speaker 1: and packers vikings on Sunday Night football. Good luck to everybody. Obviously,

- 8:15Speaker 1: us from the Action crew. Check out the links in
- 8:18Speaker 1: this episode description. All Right, We're almost there. Tyreek Kill
- 8:22Speaker 1: came back to play against Dallas, had ninety eight yards
- 8:25Speaker 1: ninety nine yards, two hundred and twenty yards ahead of
- 8:27Speaker 1: CD LAMB with two games to go. Feeling good about that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Jalen Carter now minus fifteen hundred and bet three sixty
- 8:32Speaker 1: five defensive Rookie of the Year. Most interesting conversation is
- 8:36Speaker 1: MVP Simon to Lamar Jackson's to lose. We said this
- 8:39Speaker 1: would be the MVP bole. I think Lamar Jackson might
- 8:42Speaker 1: have won it with that scamper at the end of
- 8:44Speaker 1: the first half that put them in field goal range
- 8:47Speaker 1: because it was magical and to see guys flailing and
- 8:50Speaker 1: trying to get them. He's now minus one seventy five.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Our boy Christian McCaffrey, he leaped up to number two
- 8:55Speaker 1: plus three seventy five, another all purpose game and a
- 8:58Speaker 1: touchdown for him. It's probably not gonna happen for us.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm glad that I got over my emotional needs and
- 9:05Speaker 1: just bet the Ravens plus five and a half.
- 9:07Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I'm still it's MVP is Betting is very dumb. And
- 9:13Speaker 3: I talk about this all the time. It's fun to
- 9:15Speaker 3: talk about it's fun to talk to the media about it.
- 9:18Speaker 3: But it's like, I don't even know. I don't need
- 9:21Speaker 3: to be.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Too graphic, so I guess I won't go there.
- 9:23Speaker 3: But it really is hilarious watching people be like, oh
- 9:27Speaker 3: my god, one game, all of a sudden, lamar is
- 9:30Speaker 3: the favorite party dropped way down. It's like, yeah, it's
- 9:33Speaker 3: as if this award is made up and it's very fluid,
- 9:36Speaker 3: and it all is determined week by week and there's
- 9:38Speaker 3: nothing official. Like the guy who bought that party ticket,
- 9:42Speaker 3: I know he's got money to burn, but what an
- 9:45Speaker 3: embarrassing loser like you bought something before the game, even
- 9:50Speaker 3: if they'd won this game, right, say, just something crazy
- 9:53Speaker 3: happened pretty drove the field the end of that game,
- 9:55Speaker 3: they won that touchdown and.
- 9:58Speaker 2: They win that game by point or two.
- 10:00Speaker 3: You know, it's probably still right there with Purdy and
- 10:04Speaker 3: who McCaffrey this this week Lamar plays Miami. If Lamar
- 10:09Speaker 3: lays an egg, he drops right like he'll drop out
- 10:13Speaker 3: of that and Tua, who knows plays out of his
- 10:15Speaker 3: mind two shoots up. McCaffrey's back to number one. Or
- 10:18Speaker 3: we keep talking about Josh Allen, it's he's sitting right there,
- 10:22Speaker 3: like just waiting for his spot to wiggle in there
- 10:24Speaker 3: in that final week against Miami, where again, if they win,
- 10:27Speaker 3: did they win that division? Like that's a crazy story.
- 10:30Speaker 3: So just be careful with people out there. People are
- 10:33Speaker 3: like I had someone like Shi go spend this Lamar
- 10:35Speaker 3: money now, and it's like, no, dude, Like there's nothing
- 10:39Speaker 3: is set in stone here. It's such a hyperbodical year
- 10:43Speaker 3: where the MVP is one week. I mean, Evan just
- 10:46Speaker 3: put in our chat eight different players have been at
- 10:47Speaker 3: least co favorite this season won the award. It's just
- 10:50Speaker 3: been that kind of year where there is no Peyton
- 10:52Speaker 3: Manning throwing for five thousand yards or Lamar having fifty touchdowns.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Like Lamar doesn't have the numbers. Go look at Lamar's numbers.
- 10:59Speaker 3: They're not there because he gives the ball to Gus
- 11:01Speaker 3: Edwards at the one instead of running in himself. So
- 11:04Speaker 3: it's really stupid. It's a really stupid award. But I
- 11:07Speaker 3: would give it to Lamar as well. Lamar wins against
- 11:10Speaker 3: Miami everything it plays out. We talk on the times
- 11:12Speaker 3: a QB award McCaffrey, incredible season. But you see why
- 11:15Speaker 3: it's a QB award, Like Lamar took over that game
- 11:18Speaker 3: last night, right Jet, he was the best player by
- 11:19Speaker 3: far in that field. It's the difference, right, doesn't matter.
- 11:22Speaker 3: McCaffrey is a game changer, the quarterback. If they're the
- 11:25Speaker 3: best player in the field, that who wins the game.
- 11:27Speaker 3: So really fun season, honestly for the MVP stuff like
- 11:31Speaker 3: that that we gave us, I love that kind of stuff.
- 11:34Speaker 1: It's great you're mentioning the party ticket. So we tweeted
- 11:38Speaker 1: this at Action Network, I think late last night, and
- 11:42Speaker 1: a buddy of mine texted me today a guy sold
- 11:46Speaker 1: a purty MVP ticket on prop swap which is the
- 11:49Speaker 1: exchange where people can sell future tickets and cash out
- 11:53Speaker 1: in advance at you know, basically hedge. And so a
- 11:57Speaker 1: guy sold his pretty ticket for MVP before the game
- 11:59Speaker 1: landlast night, one hundred and twenty five grand. And a
- 12:03Speaker 1: buddy texted me and said that he's friends with the
- 12:06Speaker 1: guy who did it. Oh no, when they where, the
- 12:10Speaker 1: guy was saying, should I sell it? And everyone in
- 12:12Speaker 1: the chain is like, sell it, sell it. Tell let's
- 12:14Speaker 1: sell it's sell it? And so he sold perty MVP
- 12:17Speaker 1: before the game last night. Yeah, for one hundred and
- 12:20Speaker 1: twenty five grand. It's feeling pretty good right now, all right?
- 12:24Speaker 1: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns Thursday. The Browns are
- 12:30Speaker 1: seven point favorites. Out of a strong opinion, I probably
- 12:34Speaker 1: lean Cleveland. I know it's over inflated, but we like
- 12:38Speaker 1: the defense at home versus the Jets offense that honestly,
- 12:41Speaker 1: it can only score if the field is twenty yards
- 12:44Speaker 1: or less. I mean, we saw this this past week,
- 12:46Speaker 1: right they The only reason they were up is because
- 12:49Speaker 1: they there were so many turnovers and miscues in that game.
- 12:53Speaker 1: But not a strong opinion on this one.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Is this our last Thursday of the year.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Do they do one last Thursday.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Wow, what a perfect ending the Browns and the Jets. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm like Chet, We'll keep it moving because we have
- 13:08Speaker 3: so many games to go through. But I honestly want
- 13:11Speaker 3: to take the Jets. It's at seven and a half
- 13:12Speaker 3: and a lot of books. That feels like a very
- 13:14Speaker 3: high number. But yeah, Joe Flacco man playing out of
- 13:18Speaker 3: this world. I think he's the co favorite now for
- 13:21Speaker 3: Comeback Player of the Year and he started week thirteen
- 13:24Speaker 3: just an all time story. Like the Browns, I would
- 13:28Speaker 3: love for them to win a super Bowl with Joe
- 13:31Speaker 3: Flacco as the quarterback would be the coolest story ever.
- 13:33Speaker 3: But their whole team's dead, like they have so many injuries.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I just don't know how they make the run with
- 13:38Speaker 3: what they has had happened to him. But it just
- 13:40Speaker 3: shows you how stupid it is some of these teams
- 13:42Speaker 3: spending the kind of money you spend on like a
- 13:44Speaker 3: guy like Watson, where if you have a great team
- 13:46Speaker 3: and they just had held on to Baker, they'd probably
- 13:49Speaker 3: be in the same exact spot now for half the price.
- 13:52Speaker 3: So just never any lessons in life, And that's the
- 13:56Speaker 3: lessons for the Browns where it's like you can't buy
- 13:58Speaker 3: the championship with a quarterback. It's like you just need
- 14:01Speaker 3: the right player on the right team, and Joe Flack
- 14:03Speaker 3: all right now is the right player for the right team.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Just an incredible story.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Well, it would be great if they ended up playing
- 14:08Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions and the Super Bowl, who are six
- 14:11Speaker 1: point under dollars. On Saturday last week. Our first instinct
- 14:14Speaker 1: was Detroit, and I think we got talked out of
- 14:17Speaker 1: it by the wise guys, and we were worried about Detroit.
- 14:21Speaker 1: They were on the road against a blitz happy team.
- 14:22Speaker 1: We totally got lost in the details here because at
- 14:27Speaker 1: the end of the day, Detroit indoors that entire offense
- 14:31Speaker 1: is healthy. When it is healthy, it is awesome. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: honestly regretted every second of that game on Sunday that
- 14:37Speaker 1: we didn't take them. Now, Dallas is desperate, Detroit is
- 14:40Speaker 1: still playing for seating. I don't see Dan Campbell pulling
- 14:44Speaker 1: his foot off the gas and this feels like just
- 14:47Speaker 1: a an unusually big number.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the human element, right, They just won their division.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I mean, you got golf crying. I know the border
- 14:58Speaker 3: after the words, it's like you have to bet Dallas here.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I mean, come on, It's like I don't want to
- 15:03Speaker 3: do it. I'm pissed at Dallas. They fucking choked Dak
- 15:05Speaker 3: choked a full back sneak at the one, like Pollard
- 15:10Speaker 3: can't run the ball in when it's wide open. I
- 15:12Speaker 3: fucking hate this Dallas team. But we got to be
- 15:15Speaker 3: professionals here. Thank god we can't play in the contest
- 15:17Speaker 3: because like this is such a smash spot for Dallas,
- 15:20Speaker 3: like total letdown game for the lines. But fucking hate Dallas.
- 15:24Speaker 3: So I'm so happy we can't put this in the contest.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Just just do not want to touch this one. But
- 15:29Speaker 3: gonna be betting Dallas all.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Right this next game. You know, I'm away, so I'm
- 15:37Speaker 1: not in a place where I could legally bet. So
- 15:40Speaker 1: I was making my notes yesterday on the plane and
- 15:44Speaker 1: I saw this Miami Baltimore game at the time Baltimore
- 15:47Speaker 1: was three. I'm like, am I not able to bet
- 15:51Speaker 1: Baltimore right now? Because we were feeling good about Baltimore
- 15:53Speaker 1: last night? And it's crazy if you look at the
- 15:58Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys Miami game, how even it was by every metric,
- 16:02Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what you look at like it was
- 16:05Speaker 1: an even game. Every single statistical category the biggest difference,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and you talk about the fumble on the one yard
- 16:11Speaker 1: line for the fullback and just bad play calling classics,
- 16:14Speaker 1: sort of Dak McCarthy choke game. The real difference was
- 16:18Speaker 1: no Tron Smith and the four sacks. Like those four
- 16:21Speaker 1: sacks happened at the worst time. Every single time Baltimore
- 16:26Speaker 1: has a better, more complete defense, a better coach, more
- 16:30Speaker 1: dangerous quarterback. Miami on the road against good teams has
- 16:33Speaker 1: yet to prove it. Tito Dolphins super fan made a note,
- 16:40Speaker 1: two is two and zero against Lamar. This line has
- 16:43Speaker 1: going up. It was minus three. Wise guys hit it.
- 16:45Speaker 1: It's now minus four. Tough one. It's tough one. I
- 16:52Speaker 1: like Lamar at minus three. I like them less when
- 16:53Speaker 1: the number gets bigger, and like.
- 16:56Speaker 3: A true sick guy, I only really remember my bad
- 16:59Speaker 3: beats of me and chat.
- 17:00Speaker 2: It might have been last season.
- 17:01Speaker 3: We had the Ravens pretty big, and I think they're
- 17:04Speaker 3: up like what twenty one head into the fourth quarter
- 17:07Speaker 3: and two I had the most insane comeback ever and
- 17:10Speaker 3: we lost that cover and the Miami Dolphins went outright.
- 17:12Speaker 3: So yeah, Another time, too, is when we took the Dolphins.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I think it was a Thursday night game, eight point
- 17:19Speaker 3: dog at home against this Ravens team and they blew
- 17:23Speaker 3: them out. I think it might have been Fitzpatrick at
- 17:25Speaker 3: quarterback or maybe it was to it, but it was
- 17:27Speaker 3: just there. The Dolphins were dead. No one's betting them.
- 17:31Speaker 3: It is weird how Lamar plays against Miami. I don't
- 17:33Speaker 3: know if it's a hometown thing. It's because he's from Florida.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Who knows football is so weird that way, But yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 3: we wanted we wanted to be on Miami here in
- 17:41Speaker 3: the sense that if the Ravens had won, you know,
- 17:45Speaker 3: especially if it's gonna be a close game, it's just
- 17:47Speaker 3: like you use up so much fighting That forty nine
- 17:50Speaker 3: ers corn Iris team is tough. They're gonna wear you out.
- 17:53Speaker 3: So now they're traveling after playing a late game Sunday
- 17:57Speaker 3: back home. You know they're gonna have two three day
- 18:00Speaker 3: off here, maybe a day of practice, and they'll get
- 18:02Speaker 3: it right into it with Miami.
- 18:03Speaker 2: But Ravens are gonna be feeling good all week, so
- 18:07Speaker 2: is Miami. Right.
- 18:07Speaker 3: That was a huge win. They needed that win against Dallas,
- 18:10Speaker 3: So you're not really getting any cancers out there. But yeah,
- 18:14Speaker 3: I like I said, I want to be on Miami.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Wanted to make this, Sigmon says, but why rush it?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Why not let the public keep hitting this number and
- 18:22Speaker 3: maybe I'll get a better number on Miami. But I'll
- 18:24Speaker 3: take the four little here just in case the pros
- 18:26Speaker 3: come on it. But yeah, this number was three, what
- 18:30Speaker 3: it understood if it moved to three and a half. Now
- 18:32Speaker 3: that it's moved to four, it's like, Okay, the value
- 18:34Speaker 3: is shifting towards this Miami team at three. To me,
- 18:37Speaker 3: the value was there for the Ravens at four. The
- 18:40Speaker 3: valley has got to be on Miami here at this number.
- 18:42Speaker 3: So not ideal. With the Wattle injury. Wattle had a
- 18:46Speaker 3: fifty yard catch in the first quarter and tweaked his ankle,
- 18:49Speaker 3: and now they're saying he might be done for the season,
- 18:51Speaker 3: like it might be a high ankles injury. Have to
- 18:55Speaker 3: keep track on that. That's obviously a big deal for
- 18:57Speaker 3: that offense. But hold letdown spot for the Ravens. Like
- 19:02Speaker 3: everything about it. We always talk about we don't we
- 19:05Speaker 3: like Lamar as a dog. We don't like him as
- 19:07Speaker 3: over a three point favorite. He just has not been
- 19:10Speaker 3: profitable betting that, So yeah, again not making it. Simon says,
- 19:14Speaker 3: but take Miami at the plus four just in case
- 19:16Speaker 3: it does drop. But I could see this going up
- 19:18Speaker 3: to four and a half five, And yeah, I'm not
- 19:21Speaker 3: gonna overreact to a great Ravens game. The Ravens had
- 19:25Speaker 3: their perfect game they could ask for against the fourty
- 19:28Speaker 3: nine ers team. How many games we've seen this Ravens
- 19:31Speaker 3: team be sloppy, chat right, We've seen so many games
- 19:33Speaker 3: this season where you know.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That Pittsburgh game, that Colts game.
- 19:36Speaker 3: There's so many times they've been sloppy in games where
- 19:39Speaker 3: me and you have been on the other side of
- 19:40Speaker 3: it where it's like, you know, we love Ben Lamar,
- 19:43Speaker 3: but team like the team like that Rams couple weeks ago.
- 19:45Speaker 3: The Rams were in that game the whole way, and
- 19:47Speaker 3: it's just because the Ravens kept getting opportunities and the
- 19:51Speaker 3: Rams are the Rams were able to tack downfield against
- 19:54Speaker 3: the secondary that had Kalla Hamilton who might be hurt
- 19:57Speaker 3: and might miss this game. So again, it's just all
- 20:00Speaker 3: pointing towards Miami and this offense to get right against
- 20:02Speaker 3: this Ravens. But Chad put up a good point like this,
- 20:05Speaker 3: Ravens front could give big issues to that Dolphins protection,
- 20:09Speaker 3: But we'll trust McDaniels to get the scheme right this
- 20:12Speaker 3: week against this Ravens team.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Lamar twenty two and thirty one against the spread, is
- 20:16Speaker 1: a favorite of four and more, four or more. But
- 20:20Speaker 1: here's the difference as a favorite of three or less
- 20:22Speaker 1: or as an underdog twenty one and six against the spread.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Harbaugh at three or less or as an underdog six
- 20:32Speaker 1: nearly sixty percent against spread fifty eight percent. So there's
- 20:35Speaker 1: a clear line of demarcation here at that field goal number.
- 20:40Speaker 1: And I think the more the Ravens get become the favorites,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and they are clearly the best team in the AFC
- 20:46Speaker 1: right now, the less they've proven their ability to cover
- 20:52Speaker 1: when everyone is expecting them to do what they're supposed
- 20:55Speaker 1: to do, and that is that does matter no matter
- 20:58Speaker 1: how good the defense was, and this is a very
- 21:00Speaker 1: very good defense. But yeah, I'm with you. Now that
- 21:04Speaker 1: it's gotten before, and now that the Ravens won last night,
- 21:07Speaker 1: we gotta let this thing inflate a little bit. I
- 21:10Speaker 1: think that don't go ahead.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Sorry, I was gonna say, just people don't overact to
- 21:15Speaker 3: where we we love Lamar and we love bet him
- 21:17Speaker 3: as a dog. If they do get the one seed
- 21:20Speaker 3: and we catch say Josh Allen at plus three and
- 21:22Speaker 3: a half plus four in Baltimore. Yes, like, don't don't
- 21:26Speaker 3: bet their Super Bowl futures. Don't be going crazy like
- 21:29Speaker 3: drinking the kool aid. This this is a guy that
- 21:32Speaker 3: Lamar for some reason cannot play well in the playoffs.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And we've seen that over his career.
- 21:38Speaker 3: And we have a guy that you know, this is
- 21:41Speaker 3: this is gonna be peak then that end the playoffs,
- 21:42Speaker 3: especially if they get that one seed, the hype is
- 21:44Speaker 3: gonna be so high. And if he gets MVP, like
- 21:47Speaker 3: it's just you're buying at such a bad price point.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Just don't don't wake up today and think, you know what,
- 21:52Speaker 3: I don't want to miss out on this. It's the Ravens.
- 21:54Speaker 3: The Ravens are when they have seed, this is the
- 21:56Speaker 3: best team. Don't overreact. Please don't buy their futures.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And bet them for one Super Bowl Tennessee at Houston.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Houston's a three and a half point favorite. Look, c J.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Stroud is expected to be back. Ryan Tannehill was truly
- 22:08Speaker 1: awful often this past week.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Right then, man, Yeah, it's.
- 22:16Speaker 1: They're really terrible. I remember earlier in the year we
- 22:18Speaker 1: talked about I think we did it. I did a
- 22:22Speaker 1: favorite YouTube Film Room exclusive on how bad their offensive
- 22:27Speaker 1: line was because I thought somebody was going to kill
- 22:31Speaker 1: him like they he just pummeled and that happened again
- 22:34Speaker 1: this past week. Part of it is him right, like
- 22:37Speaker 1: he's not as mobile as he used to be. He's
- 22:38Speaker 1: not making like he got he should have gotten rid
- 22:42Speaker 1: of the ball, like at the end of the game,
- 22:43Speaker 1: they had chances to get down there and tie it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I know we bake on Varabel, but this is not
- 22:48Speaker 1: a good spot for him or his team. A defense
- 22:52Speaker 1: that could not stop Geno in the fourth quarter completely
- 22:55Speaker 1: blew this game. Here's the reason why we do back
- 22:58Speaker 1: v Abel. Home faves in the division since twenty fifteen,
- 23:03Speaker 1: forty five percent. Last five years, forty three percent got
- 23:07Speaker 1: a lot of home faves. We got five home favorites
- 23:12Speaker 1: in the division this week. This game is one of them.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I honestly, as much I want to be on the Titans,
- 23:20Speaker 3: I don't want to be. My issue is that they've
- 23:22Speaker 3: had back to back weeks, have just given it all,
- 23:24Speaker 3: and they lost back back games by three points. It's
- 23:26Speaker 3: like when does not that they're going to give up,
- 23:30Speaker 3: but it's like, what what do they have left? Like
- 23:32Speaker 3: they've given it all two weeks in a row and
- 23:35Speaker 3: they've just been you know, dominated, and they're facing a
- 23:37Speaker 3: team here that's getting their hero back, like they're getting
- 23:40Speaker 3: CJ back. The fear is what damage has happened to CJ?
- 23:43Speaker 3: In the sense of, you know, it's it's weird and
- 23:46Speaker 3: you miss a couple of games special when you have
- 23:47Speaker 3: a head injury and you kind of don't feel the same,
- 23:50Speaker 3: you've lost your rhythm a little bit, and you're coming
- 23:52Speaker 3: back into it. So I want to be all over
- 23:56Speaker 3: this number, just a little hesitant to it. I want
- 23:58Speaker 3: to read more from beat right out Sea how CJ
- 24:00Speaker 3: looks at practice and things like that. But just a
- 24:03Speaker 3: little hesitant just because it is an injury to his
- 24:05Speaker 3: head and he's coming back from it, an injury that
- 24:07Speaker 3: took two over two weeks.
- 24:09Speaker 2: He missed two games because of it.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Like that's really serious compared to you know, most times
- 24:13Speaker 3: they forced these guys in, especially the quarterbacks, right unless
- 24:16Speaker 3: it's really serious, they're gonna set them out. So that's
- 24:20Speaker 3: the fear here is that it should it be an
- 24:22Speaker 3: injury that he probably should just sit out the rest
- 24:23Speaker 3: of the season, Yes, it could be, but he's not
- 24:26Speaker 3: because they're trying to mean the playoffs, Like that's a
- 24:28Speaker 3: huge deal, especially for a young team like this, to
- 24:30Speaker 3: make it into the playoffs and build off of that
- 24:33Speaker 3: going in next year. So can't fault them for getting
- 24:36Speaker 3: them back in there, can't fault him for getting his
- 24:38Speaker 3: own way back in there. And I just don't know
- 24:40Speaker 3: if I trust the number because of all those surrounding
- 24:42Speaker 3: issues right.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Now, Jeb Another, I agree with you. I just don't
- 24:46Speaker 1: think you know in years past. Something feels off about
- 24:49Speaker 1: Vrabel in the second half of the year, Like I
- 24:51Speaker 1: don't know if to talk about is this the end
- 24:53Speaker 1: of the rain for Derek Henry? Is this team transitioning?
- 24:57Speaker 1: Is he not a buyer? And Will Levice is he
- 24:59Speaker 1: thinking about the Patriots job? Who knows, But there's something
- 25:03Speaker 1: that feels sort of different about the way this team
- 25:06Speaker 1: is playing as we get into the latter half of
- 25:10Speaker 1: this year. So I'm less confident about sort of our
- 25:14Speaker 1: Mike Vrabel podcast positions than I think I was even
- 25:17Speaker 1: earlier in the year when these seemed like they were locks.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Even though he did it this past weekend. Right, another
- 25:25Speaker 1: division home favorite New didn't let at Buffalo. Buffalo is
- 25:29Speaker 1: minus twelve. I said in the intro, I'm surprised I mentioned.
- 25:35Speaker 1: We didn't get to chat before we put in the picks.
- 25:37Speaker 1: It was just busy for the holidays. But we were
- 25:40Speaker 1: texting and I mentioned New England plus seven and a
- 25:44Speaker 1: half twice, and I was surprised you didn't bite on that,
- 25:47Speaker 1: because it's normally a game that we'd automatically put in,
- 25:51Speaker 1: but you didn't. You didn't want to do it once,
- 25:54Speaker 1: let alone twice. And it feels like, in sir, circumstance,
- 26:01Speaker 1: like this is in situation, this is the right side
- 26:04Speaker 1: for the Pats. But now I actually hated so much
- 26:06Speaker 1: more than I hate it than I liked it last week.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Does that make sense? I'm afraid of this Buffalo team
- 26:11Speaker 1: right now.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I honestly want to take the Patriots, but I
- 26:17Speaker 3: don't get why it's so big, Like we would have
- 26:19Speaker 3: taken the Patriots if this was ten. Right, it's weird
- 26:22Speaker 3: that it's twelve twelve and a half in a lot
- 26:23Speaker 3: of books. Weird line because the Bills, yeah, as good
- 26:28Speaker 3: as they are, they can't stop turning the ball over
- 26:33Speaker 3: like Cook kept putting the ball on the ground. I mean,
- 26:35Speaker 3: Josh Allen for some reason can't help but throw a
- 26:38Speaker 3: pick every game. It's bizarre where the Bills are really good,
- 26:42Speaker 3: but they're going to keep teams in it if they
- 26:44Speaker 3: just keep turning the ball over. And New England's defense
- 26:48Speaker 3: this is why, I mean, Chad hates on a. Belichick's
- 26:51Speaker 3: the goat, like he's got a team playing hard from
- 26:55Speaker 3: still even after that three game run of when their
- 26:58Speaker 3: defense was giving up no point and they couldn't win,
- 27:01Speaker 3: like they just I can't get over how good of
- 27:03Speaker 3: a coach Belichick is. And it's like funny because he's
- 27:06Speaker 3: such like the dinosaur style of like like that clip
- 27:10Speaker 3: of Bailey's Acty coming in hugging I think it was
- 27:12Speaker 3: O'Brien and then he sees like Belichick and he gives
- 27:15Speaker 3: him this like real serious look and like shakes his
- 27:17Speaker 3: hand and like it's just.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Bill is just so old school.
- 27:22Speaker 3: He's he is truly a dying breed where it's like
- 27:24Speaker 3: there's every coach now feels like a player's coach, and
- 27:27Speaker 3: he is the furthest from it. Where it's like It's
- 27:31Speaker 3: crazy how this team plays for him. So I want
- 27:33Speaker 3: to take it, Chad, I want to take the twelve.
- 27:35Speaker 3: But you're right where it's like, this is usually a
- 27:38Speaker 3: spot where the Bills just blow them out, right, especially
- 27:40Speaker 3: after a huge win they'd just had in Buffalo.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Such a letdown spot for them.
- 27:45Speaker 3: That gets a billste and that played really bad and
- 27:47Speaker 3: had a lucky win against the Chargers. Is it back
- 27:51Speaker 3: to back weeks, They're just going to totally lay an egg.
- 27:52Speaker 3: The Bill's like, that's what happened last week, right, The
- 27:54Speaker 3: Bills just laid a total legg.
- 27:55Speaker 2: That's why that game was close.
- 27:56Speaker 1: So yeah, like situationally, that's what I'm thinking about, right,
- 28:00Speaker 1: Division favorites, bad spot. But the Bills had their trap game.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Their trap game was traveling to La playing a backup
- 28:08Speaker 1: quarterback and a deckcad situation against the Chargers. They needed
- 28:12Speaker 1: to win this game desperately. It was an ugly, challenging game.
- 28:17Speaker 1: They won it. The Patch just got their emotional win.
- 28:21Speaker 1: So now we've got Buffalo going back, a clearly superior
- 28:27Speaker 1: team in terms of talent. It just feels like they
- 28:31Speaker 1: could run them over.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, just scared of Ben and that big of a
- 28:36Speaker 2: number on a bill steam. I love to turn the
- 28:38Speaker 2: ball over.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams, who we love at the New York Giants.
- 28:42Speaker 1: This lan's moved, which is interesting to me. The Rams
- 28:45Speaker 1: have been exactly the team that we've loved all season
- 28:49Speaker 1: the past several weeks. You were all over them before
- 28:51Speaker 1: the season began, won five of their past six games.
- 28:54Speaker 1: They're only lost that squeaker to the Ravens. We were
- 28:58Speaker 1: on the Rams. They are now Ravens, who have proven
- 29:00Speaker 1: themselves to be probably the best team in the league.
- 29:04Speaker 1: We've talked about the Rotuna Cooper Cup, but it's really
- 29:07Speaker 1: Kyvin Williams. He's been the difference maker as he was
- 29:10Speaker 1: early in the year. This numbers moved went from six
- 29:13Speaker 1: and a half to six. It's a little surprising to
- 29:16Speaker 1: me because the things that you think would give the
- 29:20Speaker 1: Giants an advantage and make the wise guys like the
- 29:23Speaker 1: Giants do not exist. Their rush defense is terrible. Before
- 29:27Speaker 1: this weekend, they were one of four teams to have
- 29:28Speaker 1: given up two thousand yards rushing already this year. And
- 29:32Speaker 1: that's what the Rams are going to do. They're going
- 29:35Speaker 1: to have Kyvin Williams just run, run, run, and make
- 29:37Speaker 1: it open for everybody else. So this RAMS teams feels
- 29:41Speaker 1: juggernautish right now. But it's a bad number and a
- 29:44Speaker 1: bad spot, so I'm torn. Simon Hunter.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Simon says, take the New York Giants.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Simon says, do it.
- 29:52Speaker 2: We do what science says? Wow, let's go baby. Yeah.
- 29:57Speaker 2: The reason this numbers move because I've just been hammering chad.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Man classic trap spot for this RAMS team, such a
- 30:06Speaker 3: letdown spot against a team that I mean, the public
- 30:08Speaker 3: is not going to be back in this team, right,
- 30:10Speaker 3: we want to know who the quarterback is going to
- 30:11Speaker 3: be the Giants.
- 30:12Speaker 2: But actually kind of.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Like the Giants matchup defensively against this RAMS team and
- 30:17Speaker 3: then offensively, I really like it because I mean they
- 30:21Speaker 3: run everything out through the back, right, like it's all
- 30:23Speaker 3: based through Saquon. The RAMS team, you know, as good
- 30:27Speaker 3: as they've played, their secondary can still be torched, right,
- 30:31Speaker 3: And we've seen this team and the Giants be you know,
- 30:34Speaker 3: two yards in a cloud of dust or they just
- 30:36Speaker 3: throw bombs, doesn't matter if it's de Vito or if
- 30:37Speaker 3: they're bringing Tyrod Taylor, They're gonna tack down the field.
- 30:41Speaker 3: So this is a matchup where like this can be
- 30:45Speaker 3: on our money line around Robin, every teaser everything. Just
- 30:49Speaker 3: like last week with the forty nine ers, this is
- 30:51Speaker 3: the same thing this week with the Rams, Like everyone's
- 30:53Speaker 3: gonna be all over this team, all their teasers. It's
- 30:56Speaker 3: just feels like a little bit of a sucker bet.
- 30:58Speaker 3: And again we're not always been that be on these ones,
- 31:00Speaker 3: but it's like, you bet this spot on the Giants
- 31:04Speaker 3: long term, this is a sixty percent winner, Like this
- 31:06Speaker 3: is just something you play time and time again and it's.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Gonna win long term.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And it's just such a letdown spot for this Rams
- 31:12Speaker 3: team because guess what they have after this game, the
- 31:15Speaker 3: forty nine ers, And it's just such a clear look
- 31:17Speaker 3: ahead where it's like, yeah, this matters.
- 31:19Speaker 2: They need to win this, right, they want to.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Be a higher seat in the playoffs whatever, you know
- 31:23Speaker 3: their thing about that forty nine ers game, like that's
- 31:25Speaker 3: a big deal to this team and this offense with
- 31:28Speaker 3: you know McVeigh has been the little brother to Shanahan,
- 31:31Speaker 3: Like it's just the way their relationship has been.
- 31:32Speaker 2: So I love it, I really do. I like love
- 31:36Speaker 2: that this number.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I thought was gonna get the seven, But like you said, Chad,
- 31:41Speaker 3: it's like the pros game and they hit it down.
- 31:43Speaker 2: I joined them.
- 31:44Speaker 3: It's just like, as soon as I saw this numbers
- 31:45Speaker 3: that was six and a half, It's like, okay, this.
- 31:47Speaker 2: This number is way too high. They should be closer
- 31:49Speaker 2: to four and a half. Four.
- 31:50Speaker 3: But the Rams, like Chad just said, they're they're the
- 31:53Speaker 3: most hyped up team right now. They're playing so well.
- 31:56Speaker 3: They had these really good close games with you know,
- 31:58Speaker 3: the Ravens. Like everything, it's just everyone drinking the Rams cooly,
- 32:01Speaker 3: like they're the scariest team head into the playoffs. The
- 32:03Speaker 3: NFC of like, yeah, I don't want to play them
- 32:05Speaker 3: as an Eagles fan. Like their weapons, they have an
- 32:08Speaker 3: offense like Stafford's making these crazy armyming throws, and you know,
- 32:13Speaker 3: it's just I hate it because they're my favorite team
- 32:16Speaker 3: this year, the Rams, Like I love them all season.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I've loved ben them. They're just my darling.
- 32:20Speaker 3: But this is a fade week and then we'll pick
- 32:22Speaker 3: them up next week against the forty nine ers.
- 32:24Speaker 2: But I have to fade them this week.
- 32:27Speaker 1: The only thing I would say about this I agree
- 32:29Speaker 1: with with all of this is I feel like a
- 32:33Speaker 1: lot of these numbers this year, more than years past,
- 32:37Speaker 1: have been floating higher as we got closer to the game,
- 32:42Speaker 1: and then they've been settling at six or thirteen, and
- 32:47Speaker 1: then all of a sudden comes Sunday, the public comes
- 32:50Speaker 1: piling in more than we've seen and the number goes
- 32:53Speaker 1: back up to seven.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a rear miss, but I mean a great
- 32:56Speaker 3: example last week. I gave Carolina Simon says a five
- 32:59Speaker 3: to five and a half half and I close it three
- 33:00Speaker 3: and a half, so obviously didn't matter, laid it on three.
- 33:05Speaker 3: But it's nice knowing they could have missed that two
- 33:07Speaker 3: pointer and it didn't matter where. It's like, well, it
- 33:09Speaker 3: doesn't matter. We have the five and a half. We
- 33:11Speaker 3: already have that built in, so kind of.
- 33:13Speaker 1: A similar spot too, Yeah, similar.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Spot, right, So yeah, it's I do feel bad about it,
- 33:22Speaker 3: Like that Tennessee one like you brought up. I had
- 33:24Speaker 3: a ton of money on the two and a half
- 33:25Speaker 3: and two. Luckily I did buy on the three and
- 33:27Speaker 3: the three and a half, But it's like those are
- 33:30Speaker 3: always tough and you get the bad number, like you said,
- 33:32Speaker 3: So this one, I just I can just see it
- 33:35Speaker 3: coming down because the pros are gonna love this spot
- 33:36Speaker 3: for the Giants.
- 33:37Speaker 2: It's just sucks.
- 33:39Speaker 3: It already moved from six and a half to six,
- 33:40Speaker 3: but I just want to grab it just in case
- 33:42Speaker 3: it does dip down a five and.
- 33:43Speaker 1: A half San Francisco at Washington, Washington plus thirteen and
- 33:47Speaker 1: a half right now with bet three six five. Look,
- 33:51Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers still need to win out to
- 33:53Speaker 1: keep the number one seed. We don't know who the
- 33:57Speaker 1: QB will be for the Commanders yet. Ron Rivera hasn't
- 33:59Speaker 1: a now normally a huge road favorite, not a good
- 34:06Speaker 1: spot for Kyle Shanahan. You have to wonder if things
- 34:11Speaker 1: are different after losing it home the way they did,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and you just have to wonder, is this Commander's team
- 34:18Speaker 1: done with two games to go in the year and
- 34:20Speaker 1: they know everything's going to change. Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I would say the biggest fear if you're a Fortinis
- 34:25Speaker 3: fan is your team has lost their swagger, Like you
- 34:28Speaker 3: lost that we're untouched, moor and beatable. That's a real
- 34:31Speaker 3: confidence that team had. Now they feel human, and that's
- 34:35Speaker 3: a scary thing where it's like they don't have four
- 34:38Speaker 3: or five weeks to get it back right. They got
- 34:39Speaker 3: two weeks before the playoffs kind of picked the worst
- 34:43Speaker 3: time for the forty nine Ers to have that kind
- 34:45Speaker 3: of game or it's a rallying point where it's like,
- 34:48Speaker 3: all right, we got embarrassed, we know what our weaknesses are.
- 34:50Speaker 3: They go out, they blow out this Washing team by forty.
- 34:53Speaker 3: They go and dominate the Rams the final week, and
- 34:55Speaker 3: it's like they're the one seed and who cares about
- 34:57Speaker 3: that Ravens game.
- 34:58Speaker 2: They don't got to worry about them until the super
- 34:59Speaker 2: Bow if they do see them.
- 35:00Speaker 3: So yeah, big big game for the forty nine ers
- 35:04Speaker 3: in the sense that I want to take Washington.
- 35:06Speaker 2: This is such a.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Bad letdown game where it's like, you're right, Chad. The
- 35:11Speaker 3: Washington team though the fear is like they know it's over.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I mean that they gave it all in that Jets game,
- 35:17Speaker 3: they still fell short even with Presett in that game.
- 35:21Speaker 3: It's like, man, Washington is so bad, Like the forty
- 35:25Speaker 3: nine Ers matchup wise, should dominate this team in every way,
- 35:28Speaker 3: Like everything they do good, Washington is really bad, especially defensively,
- 35:33Speaker 3: like they got nothing defensively.
- 35:34Speaker 2: They can stop anything the foreigners can do offensively.
- 35:37Speaker 3: So yeah, if we're going big dogs this week, there's
- 35:40Speaker 3: other dogs that'd rather take than this one, right, So
- 35:42Speaker 3: I'm happy to pass on this one. But just be
- 35:44Speaker 3: careful people, if you're just blindly betting the forty nine ers.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Here, it's like it's a little stinky of a number.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's actually the perfect contrast to the
- 35:54Speaker 1: next game on the schedule, which is Arizona at Philly.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Philly is a ten and a half point fait it right?
- 36:00Speaker 1: Philly won yesterday, But interestingly, at eight am this morning
- 36:08Speaker 1: the number was at twelve. It's been bet down to
- 36:11Speaker 1: ten and a half. I like this morning, when I
- 36:15Speaker 1: was looking at my notes and putting together the script,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I wanted to make Arizona my exact decision at plus
- 36:22Speaker 1: twelve because the Eagles didn't look that good against the
- 36:26Speaker 1: Giants that fumbled to start the second half the turnover
- 36:30Speaker 1: for a touchdown. I feel like Arizona is undervalued after
- 36:39Speaker 1: the Bears loss, and I do think just watching a
- 36:42Speaker 1: lot of that game, Arizona will watch that game as
- 36:46Speaker 1: players and think, oh my god, we had so many opportunities.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And I think that the one thing they have to
- 36:52Speaker 1: their advantage that probably didn't work against the Bears that
- 36:56Speaker 1: does work against the Eagles is Trey mc bride in
- 37:00Speaker 1: there as a tight end. Is really starting to play well,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and that's a pretty good way to attack the Eagles.
- 37:05Speaker 1: In the middle of that, they're defense, and it's not
- 37:07Speaker 1: a good way to attack the Bears. So I can
- 37:11Speaker 1: understand why the wise guys have been betting Arizona in
- 37:15Speaker 1: this game.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and it feels like Eagles are just like the Bills,
- 37:18Speaker 3: where it's like, yeah, they got a ton of talent,
- 37:20Speaker 3: but they can't stop turning the ball over. And the
- 37:22Speaker 3: Egles easily should have blown the Giants out, and they
- 37:25Speaker 3: had some really stupid funbo to start the second half
- 37:28Speaker 3: with their own guys running into each other, and then.
- 37:29Speaker 2: The Hurts pick six six.
- 37:32Speaker 3: It's just is it bad luck or these teams just
- 37:37Speaker 3: are what they are? Like, are the Bills and the
- 37:38Speaker 3: Eagles the same team where it's like tons of talent,
- 37:40Speaker 3: but they play slopping, they turn the ball over and
- 37:42Speaker 3: that's what's going to burn them whence they have the playoffs.
- 37:44Speaker 2: And that's why it feels to this Eagles team it's like, God, well.
- 37:48Speaker 1: We're going to talk about it with the Chiefs too.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Like you watch against the Raiders, I think they are
- 37:53Speaker 1: what they are At this point, you're sixteen games into
- 37:56Speaker 1: the season, seventeen weeks in sixteen weeks into the season.
- 38:00Speaker 1: You are what you are, and it's not you are
- 38:01Speaker 1: what your record says you are. You are with tape
- 38:04Speaker 1: shows what you are, and we've seen it consistently. We
- 38:07Speaker 1: kept waiting for this Eagles team to get better offensively,
- 38:11Speaker 1: to get better defensively, to sort of get beyond losing
- 38:16Speaker 1: Gannon and Shane Steichen, and they kind of haven't yet,
- 38:20Speaker 1: and so they're not going to.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly though, it's the defense.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I think the bar is so high for the offense
- 38:28Speaker 3: that like Herts is putting up you know, twenty four,
- 38:31Speaker 3: twenty seven points every week, but people are still going
- 38:34Speaker 3: to bash them. It's just like the expectations so high
- 38:36Speaker 3: that that's just how it is where him And it's like,
- 38:40Speaker 3: you know, you see guys they play through these injuries
- 38:42Speaker 3: and they're not as good as they were the year
- 38:44Speaker 3: before when they were super healthy.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Like Trevor Lawrence.
- 38:48Speaker 3: The guy has a bad leg, a bum shoulder, and
- 38:50Speaker 3: a concussion and he's playing like shit these last couple
- 38:53Speaker 3: of weeks. I mean they were eight and three, now
- 38:55Speaker 3: they're eight and seven or whatever it is. It's just like, yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 3: they're trying to play through injuries. It's not ideal, Like
- 39:01Speaker 3: you're playing through injuries against got the best players in
- 39:04Speaker 3: the world. Like it's just you're gonna look shitty. Your
- 39:06Speaker 3: team's gonna suffer when you're not on your a game.
- 39:08Speaker 3: And whatever's wrong with Hurts, you know, his body might
- 39:11Speaker 3: be a little banged up. A lot of it's mental,
- 39:13Speaker 3: like he's making these little mental errors of forcing into balls,
- 39:17Speaker 3: forcing balls in the areas where you don't need to,
- 39:19Speaker 3: Like there's open guys, find your open read instead of
- 39:22Speaker 3: trying to force.
- 39:23Speaker 2: It in and just make one read and throw it there.
- 39:25Speaker 2: And yeah, this is just I'm with you on it.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Where it's like I like the Cardinals. The fear is
- 39:32Speaker 3: the Eagles are like the souped up version of the Bears.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Like what the Bears do offensively with you know Field's
- 39:41Speaker 3: being able to scramble, that's what Hurts can do as well,
- 39:44Speaker 3: and that's what you saw Like Arizona, Yeah, they couldn't
- 39:47Speaker 3: get the Bears off the field because of that, Like
- 39:49Speaker 3: they have no one on that d line that has
- 39:51Speaker 3: any type of speed or rushing ability to really shut
- 39:54Speaker 3: down any quarterbacks. So Arizona is yeah, like what are
- 39:58Speaker 3: the second worst team of football. They've earned it. They
- 40:00Speaker 3: are dog shit on defense, and their offense is all
- 40:04Speaker 3: Kyler and Connors right, Like, if they don't have a
- 40:07Speaker 3: running game, they're kind of dead. And the Eagles, that's
- 40:10Speaker 3: one thing they can do well stop a running game,
- 40:12Speaker 3: but you can pass on them. So your love of
- 40:14Speaker 3: the Cardinals here is warranted, just because, just like the Bills,
- 40:18Speaker 3: It's like if the Eagles turn the Bowl over two
- 40:21Speaker 3: or three times, Cardinals are easily going to cover this number.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Like you're just going to give them short fields and
- 40:25Speaker 3: put Color in the position to score and attack this
- 40:27Speaker 3: bad secondary. So I understand you. You want to make
- 40:31Speaker 3: it your exect decision. I wouldn't hate if you did.
- 40:32Speaker 3: It's just it's a spot I'm probably going to have
- 40:35Speaker 3: to play the Cardinals.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I moved on when the number moved. I moved
- 40:39Speaker 1: on because there's a couple other games that I'm.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Even moved that much. You don't like that I moved
- 40:43Speaker 2: from a twelve to ten and a half eleven.
- 40:45Speaker 1: I don't know, Simon, It's like I just saw it.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, not a stickler, you know. As
- 40:52Speaker 1: a reminder, it is an the list we're gonna have
- 40:54Speaker 1: to talk about it again on Thursday. Right now, the games.
- 40:56Speaker 1: We got to talk about it again on Thursday. By
- 40:57Speaker 1: the way, the Giants plus six Arizona plus ten and
- 41:01Speaker 1: a half. As a reminder for the second time, you
- 41:03Speaker 1: can catch every episode of The Favorites live on YouTube.
- 41:07Speaker 1: For those enjoying on YouTube, don't forget to give us
- 41:09Speaker 1: a like and subscribe to the Action Network YouTube page.
- 41:12Speaker 1: All Right, New Orleans at Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is
- 41:18Speaker 1: a three point favorite, and I hate to say it,
- 41:23Speaker 1: it may be time to fade elite NFL quarterback Baker Mayfield.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Can't do it.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Four wins in a row, back to back masterful performances.
- 41:36Speaker 1: It's like Division Favorites at home. We have the evidence.
- 41:41Speaker 1: It's a spot. Like dude, dude, we're going to get
- 41:49Speaker 1: the sharp calls on Thursday, and we're going to be here.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I alread you can tell you early sharp calls. I
- 41:54Speaker 3: talked to a ton of guys smashing this the same spot.
- 41:58Speaker 1: You have to.
- 42:00Speaker 2: You can't, though.
- 42:00Speaker 3: My argument to them is, it's fucking Dennis Allen, Derek Carr.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I'm not doing it. I don't care. I agree like
- 42:08Speaker 3: old Simon, I would love this. But the new age man,
- 42:12Speaker 3: the man that is so sick of Derek Carr and
- 42:14Speaker 3: how with him and Dennis Allen. This is an emotional bedroom.
- 42:18Speaker 3: You're like, I know the number is going to say
- 42:20Speaker 3: too when I go through the model on this one.
- 42:22Speaker 3: It's like, this is such a spot to play the Saints,
- 42:25Speaker 3: but I'm not fucking doing it. And like I just
- 42:29Speaker 3: I've talked to five guys and each each one of
- 42:31Speaker 3: them brought up the stats and how they love them
- 42:33Speaker 3: this spot. It's just like, I don't know. It feels
- 42:35Speaker 3: like they're walking into it. I'll join the public, Jos,
- 42:38Speaker 3: and I'll die on the Baker Hill. I'll take Baker Hill.
- 42:42Speaker 3: You know, if they win this, do they lock up
- 42:44Speaker 3: the division? Is this that decides the division? If it is? Like,
- 42:47Speaker 3: I just love it. I love the story, I love
- 42:49Speaker 3: everything about it. I'm prepared to be miserable back in Baker.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I am shocked, me too shocked to hear this. This
- 42:59Speaker 1: goes against every thing we've discussed together for five years.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I know I can't do it.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield a one million dollar bonus for winning the
- 43:11Speaker 1: NFC South, which you could do weekend. I don't know,
- 43:17Speaker 1: I don't know. I know because on you know, on Thursday,
- 43:22Speaker 1: this could end up being the Foxhall Jackson Jackson.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I just know I'm gonna get a lot of calls
- 43:33Speaker 3: with the Saints. I just feel like I'm not I'm
- 43:35Speaker 3: not gonna budget. I just I can't do it. It's
- 43:36Speaker 3: like it's like Detroit. Last week. I was on Detroit.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I knew Detroit. I got bullied fucking all week, just
- 43:43Speaker 3: a lot of shit talking to me. It's like, how
- 43:45Speaker 3: are you back in Detroit?
- 43:46Speaker 2: Here?
- 43:46Speaker 3: They always losing this spot every now and then people
- 43:49Speaker 3: we see history and I'm gonna back Baker and seeing
- 43:52Speaker 3: something crazier. I just I can't believe we're in the
- 43:54Speaker 3: spot where Baker might win the South.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but Detroit to me, actually made more since last week.
- 43:58Speaker 1: And I'm bummed that we did get laid off of
- 44:00Speaker 1: Detroit because like it basically was any of the circumstances
- 44:05Speaker 1: that we worry about with Jared Goff didn't exist. The
- 44:08Speaker 1: only thing was about the blitzing. But I thought we
- 44:10Speaker 1: I think we felt their offense was so good and
- 44:12Speaker 1: so healthy that it didn't matter, and that they've actually
- 44:14Speaker 1: haven't been as bad as every injuries.
- 44:17Speaker 3: I don't think you know, I don't think you were watching.
- 44:19Speaker 3: The Vikings had like big injuries to their defense during
- 44:21Speaker 3: the game.
- 44:25Speaker 2: You know we got at the end of the day.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I think we got Nick Mullen.
- 44:28Speaker 1: That's what I mean. And we're going to talk about Mullen.
- 44:31Speaker 3: If you want to get Derek Card do you want
- 44:33Speaker 3: to get Derek Carr? I really get Baker Mayfield.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Okay, Caroline at Jacksonville, I'm surprised this line is going up.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Uh.
- 44:44Speaker 1: You know we went up from six to seven. Uh.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Watching the Panthers this past weekend, I kept thinking to myself, A,
- 44:51Speaker 1: the Panthers are at home. They played better there, because
- 44:53Speaker 1: in the beginning it looked like it was just going
- 44:55Speaker 1: to be a loss for us.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the defense was terrible.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Then I remember that Bryce Young is in stellar against
- 45:01Speaker 1: the spread in the second half this year. Thanks to
- 45:03Speaker 1: Evan Abrams for that stat. Bryce Young, there are a
- 45:07Speaker 1: couple camera shots, is a tiny, teeny teeny human being.
- 45:11Speaker 1: He just doesn't belong in an NFL field. It's amazing
- 45:14Speaker 1: to me how much he's been balling out these past
- 45:18Speaker 1: few games since Frank Reich was fired, and the Jacks
- 45:21Speaker 1: can't get it together, Like, why did this number go up?
- 45:24Speaker 1: It makes no sense to me.
- 45:28Speaker 3: I mean, the Panthers are that bad. I will give
- 45:31Speaker 3: flowers to how tough young is. You know, just coming
- 45:40Speaker 3: into the year, I just thought when I call him
- 45:42Speaker 3: the QB position, I was like, there's no way this
- 45:44Speaker 3: guy is gonna last this season. Think of all the
- 45:46Speaker 3: hits he's taken and he's lasted. I mean it's crazy.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Like the Panthers, they're a line can't block. He's getting
- 45:54Speaker 3: crushed every week and he's lasted. Like it is crazy
- 45:58Speaker 3: to think all the other he's got hurt, none of
- 46:01Speaker 3: them lasted. He the smallest one, has lasted this whole season.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Pretty pretty incredible, Like that guy is obviously toughest shit.
- 46:10Speaker 3: He's a gamer. I can see why. Like they got
- 46:13Speaker 3: sucked into a fell in.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Love with him.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Like he's got a great personality, he's likable, hard working,
- 46:18Speaker 3: but like you, just like you said, he's so small
- 46:21Speaker 3: out there when you see him around these other guys,
- 46:23Speaker 3: especially his linemen, It's like, this guy is so tiny.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I just don't know how he's gonna hold up for
- 46:28Speaker 2: this whole career, especially all.
- 46:29Speaker 3: The hits he's taking. Now just just brutal. So yeah,
- 46:33Speaker 3: I want to take the Panthers. Need to talk to
- 46:36Speaker 3: some people because I need to know who's moving this
- 46:38Speaker 3: line on the Jaguars and what they know.
- 46:40Speaker 2: But the Jaguars suck and they got injuries, and.
- 46:46Speaker 3: You know, if it was fully healthy all their wide receivers,
- 46:50Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence is fully healthy, Yeah, I would love the
- 46:54Speaker 3: Jaguars here. It's like they would torch this Panthers defense
- 46:57Speaker 3: at home. But they're just not the same teams they
- 46:59Speaker 3: were or five six weeks ago.
- 47:01Speaker 2: They just had terrible injury luck.
- 47:03Speaker 3: And you know, Trevor keeps trying to play through these
- 47:06Speaker 3: injuries and he's just not right. I mean, he looked
- 47:08Speaker 3: down right awful in that Bucks game. So if it's CJ. Bethard,
- 47:12Speaker 3: maybe this makes more sense the line movement. But I'll
- 47:16Speaker 3: take I'll take the Panthers plus seven if it's seven
- 47:18Speaker 3: and a half in our contest, like no brain or play,
- 47:21Speaker 3: didn't didn't want to, didn't plan on backing the Panthers
- 47:24Speaker 3: three weeks in a row, But here we are, Chad.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I know, honestly, this also was almost the exact decision,
- 47:29Speaker 1: and I thought, am I really going to say to people.
- 47:33Speaker 1: We're back in the Panthers three. I know, but his
- 47:38Speaker 1: number just feels too big. It too much against the
- 47:41Speaker 1: Jacksonville team that is that is flailing and we honestly
- 47:44Speaker 1: don't know what we're gonna get next week.
- 47:46Speaker 3: At the question the staff from Evan, what do you say?
- 47:49Speaker 3: See since week thirteen, so that's when Trevor is leive
- 47:52Speaker 3: he got injured. He's nineteen or thirty six qbs and
- 47:55Speaker 3: EPA per play, and he's twenty seventh in completion percentage.
- 47:58Speaker 2: So it's just his yes.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Hasn't been the same. I still owe an exec decision.
- 48:06Speaker 1: This also almost met the land in Chicago. I think
- 48:09Speaker 1: this is the Justin Fields Bowl? Right? Will he remain
- 48:12Speaker 1: in Chicago? Will he be traded? Will the Falcons be
- 48:14Speaker 1: a potential landing spot? This week, all the rage in
- 48:18Speaker 1: the Chicago land text chains were did you see that
- 48:22Speaker 1: Caleb Williams like to tweet that said the Bears should
- 48:27Speaker 1: keep Justin Fields? Everyone speculating that Caleb Williams does not
- 48:31Speaker 1: want to go to Chicago to be their next quarterback. Now,
- 48:35Speaker 1: even without that, I kind of lean the Falcons here.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I think the Bears are overvalued after last week. The
- 48:43Speaker 1: one thing the Bears can't do is turn the ball over,
- 48:46Speaker 1: and they were lucky enough to only do it once
- 48:48Speaker 1: last week. And the one time they did, Arizona ran
- 48:51Speaker 1: down the field and made it a game for about
- 48:53Speaker 1: ten minutes. So I feel like three is just too
- 48:58Speaker 1: much against an Atlanta team that's less something to play
- 49:00Speaker 1: for that is much more talented Arizona. So my lean
- 49:06Speaker 1: is Atlanta.
- 49:09Speaker 2: I don't know what to do.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I want to take the Bears just because Atlanta they're
- 49:13Speaker 3: frauds themselves, Like, yeah, they they beat up that Colts
- 49:16Speaker 3: team last week, but that was more of a Colts
- 49:18Speaker 3: letdown spot.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Wasn't it. It was just a class those teams.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's why I don't That's why I'm not
- 49:26Speaker 1: making the exact decision, by the way, because I don't
- 49:28Speaker 1: believe Atlanta can can play consistently two weeks in a row.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yeah, especially we've seen them. They're splits from indoor to outdoors,
- 49:37Speaker 3: and you know, heini key, he's gonna he's gonna burn you.
- 49:42Speaker 3: And now he's going to get into a Bear's team
- 49:43Speaker 3: that loves to turnover quarterbacks like it's what they do.
- 49:46Speaker 3: So well, Yeah, just i'd be bummed as a Bears
- 49:50Speaker 3: fan where it's just like if you guys had just
- 49:51Speaker 3: traded for Sweat, it feels like in August, I feel
- 49:54Speaker 3: like your whole season might have been a little different,
- 49:56Speaker 3: Like Sweat.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Made that much better, so.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Much better everything, like everything, He's even you know, you
- 50:02Speaker 3: guys went out and got two linebackers who have been,
- 50:05Speaker 3: you know, all right, but when Sweat got in there,
- 50:08Speaker 3: it made them go from all right to being what
- 50:09Speaker 3: they should have been, which is like absolute studs all
- 50:12Speaker 3: over the field. Like they've really changed. He's really changed
- 50:15Speaker 3: that whole defense. So the Bears are playing really well. Man,
- 50:19Speaker 3: Like this number it's a little fishy because it's like
- 50:23Speaker 3: I want to be with the public and smash the
- 50:24Speaker 3: Bears here and I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna take
- 50:27Speaker 3: the two and a half, I'll take the three, and
- 50:28Speaker 3: I assume this will go up to three and a half.
- 50:30Speaker 3: It's just it feels a little low here. It's Heinikey
- 50:35Speaker 3: on the road with Atlanta team that you know, they
- 50:37Speaker 3: haven't they've had their own injuries where the Bears, other
- 50:40Speaker 3: than I think DJ Moore might have got banged up,
- 50:42Speaker 3: they got pretty they're pretty healthy. After last week, like
- 50:45Speaker 3: they're not like all these other teams, I've had a
- 50:46Speaker 3: bunch of injuries. The Bears really haven't had those major
- 50:49Speaker 3: injuries across their team these last couple weeks. So yeah,
- 50:52Speaker 3: the Bears, I'm buying high, Like this is as hig
- 50:56Speaker 3: as it gets, probably.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Very high, very high. What's going on with you?
- 51:02Speaker 2: I know, I'm.
- 51:06Speaker 3: No, I'm just the public has been winning, like you know,
- 51:09Speaker 3: I'm I'm I'm trying to see it from their standpoint
- 51:13Speaker 3: of The bookmakers have been laying some ship numbers, and
- 51:16Speaker 3: I don't want to put too much faith in these
- 51:17Speaker 3: bookmakers where it's like, you know, this feels like a
- 51:20Speaker 3: ship number. Like the Bears when they don't turn the
- 51:24Speaker 3: ball over, they're pretty damn puffed to beat, Like they
- 51:28Speaker 3: got a pretty stout defense and they have one of
- 51:30Speaker 3: the best weapons in football.
- 51:31Speaker 2: And Justin Fields offensively.
- 51:32Speaker 3: And like the reason they sucked during the year was
- 51:35Speaker 3: because Justin Fields wanted to prove he was a pocket passer.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Where it's like, dude, be like lamar, use your legs
- 51:41Speaker 3: when the pocket breaks down, there's no shame in running
- 51:44Speaker 3: and picking up five six yards And it feels like
- 51:47Speaker 3: he's been free since coming back from that injury a
- 51:49Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago. Like he's playing more loose. He's
- 51:52Speaker 3: he's running the ball instead of just standing in the
- 51:54Speaker 3: pocket taking stupid sacks, which he did from week what
- 51:56Speaker 3: one through six? So yeah, I can't believe it. I'm
- 52:00Speaker 3: joining the public and on another one, I'll buy the
- 52:02Speaker 3: Bears here.
- 52:03Speaker 1: It's so interesting. That's two seasons in a row. By
- 52:05Speaker 1: the way, where last season they had a terrible loss
- 52:08Speaker 1: to the Commanders, went into the by after the buye
- 52:11Speaker 1: it seemed like Luke Getzi and the offensive staff saw
- 52:15Speaker 1: what the Eagles were doing with Jalen Hurtz and tried
- 52:17Speaker 1: to mimic that with Justin Fields and then the Bears
- 52:19Speaker 1: were great, not great, but like perform better in the
- 52:22Speaker 1: second half. This is how low the expectations are. If
- 52:25Speaker 1: the Bears are a competitive I.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Think they won one game with the second the Bears
- 52:28Speaker 2: are competitive.
- 52:30Speaker 1: If they lose ten in a row, that's still optimistic
- 52:33Speaker 1: for Bears fans. And this year the same thing. They
- 52:36Speaker 1: came into the season with high expectations. He doesn't play well,
- 52:40Speaker 1: he's making a lot of turnovers, gets injured, comes back,
- 52:43Speaker 1: and they start using him in a more natural way
- 52:45Speaker 1: that plays to his skill set, and this year they
- 52:47Speaker 1: are winning. I'm away with both of my kids right now,
- 52:50Speaker 1: my wife, and this morning one of my kids said
- 52:53Speaker 1: to me they were doing a draft of the worst
- 52:56Speaker 1: teams in the NFL, and he said, can you name
- 52:59Speaker 1: five teams worse than the Bears? And I actually I
- 53:02Speaker 1: think I could.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Easy.
- 53:04Speaker 1: So, uh that's how bad it's gotten. It's like the
- 53:07Speaker 1: Bears aren't even the worst team anymore.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Staff from Evan best defenses since Week nine, the Vegas
- 53:14Speaker 3: raid is the Chicago Bears and Cleveland. So Chicago Chagog's
- 53:20Speaker 3: defense man, they've been, they've been legit.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree, I totally agree. Las Vegas at Indye.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Speaking of Raiders, Indy is a three point favorite. I
- 53:30Speaker 1: just don't trust this Vegas team and I.
- 53:32Speaker 3: Know they No, No, you gotta you gotta take Colts here.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Don't even think about what do you need to break
- 53:37Speaker 3: this one down? Keep it simple, stupid, Take the Colts.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Who cares if it's Joe Public. Vegas had two touchdowns
- 53:48Speaker 3: from their defense and their quarterback didn't have a completion
- 53:51Speaker 3: after their first quarter, and they still blew out the Chiefs.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Yes, fade Vegas will take the Colt too.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Pittsburgh at Seattle Seattle minus three and a half. Both
- 54:01Speaker 1: teams overvalued in this spot. I don't love Geno against
- 54:04Speaker 1: the defense. I don't love Rudolph on the road after
- 54:06Speaker 1: last week. I have no vision for this game.
- 54:10Speaker 3: No. I like Seattle like I love what I've seen
- 54:12Speaker 3: from in the last two weeks. Incredible comeback win again
- 54:17Speaker 3: from Gina where.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I didn't think he was gonna do it.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I thought it was gonna be in his own head,
- 54:22Speaker 3: Tennessee's defense that played really well, and he did it
- 54:26Speaker 3: man like that. That was crazy, Like the bad back
- 54:29Speaker 3: to back winning drives from two different quarterbacks on a
- 54:32Speaker 3: team that's pretty damn special. Like again, this year has
- 54:35Speaker 3: been so weird. We've had these incredible moments. And that's
- 54:38Speaker 3: another one where it's like Seattle, they're a feisty team.
- 54:42Speaker 3: If they're gonna ride this high into the playoffs. We
- 54:44Speaker 3: all know they're not that good. We all know their
- 54:46Speaker 3: weaknesses they have and how the inconsistent this team is.
- 54:48Speaker 3: But yeah, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mason Rudolph, he is not good.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Like this man they've had on their team for what
- 54:59Speaker 3: feels like ten years, but it's probably been three or
- 55:01Speaker 3: four years. But he's been there forever, and there's a
- 55:03Speaker 3: reason they keep him at third and fourth string. There's
- 55:05Speaker 3: a reason that you know, they paid a joke of
- 55:09Speaker 3: a quarterback in Mitch Trubisky a shit ton of money
- 55:11Speaker 3: because they didn't trust Mason Rudolph. And yeah, he had
- 55:14Speaker 3: a good game. You really want to bet on him
- 55:17Speaker 3: having back to back good games. Now on the road,
- 55:19Speaker 3: facing that twelfth man in Seattle, having to have a
- 55:22Speaker 3: silent count the entire game. No, don't, don't do it
- 55:25Speaker 3: to yourself. They're not buy the three and a half.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Take the minus three and a half. Don't let the
- 55:29Speaker 3: hooks carry you off. I'll back another home favorite in Seattle.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Here, I'm looking at our list, like, what a contrast
- 55:38Speaker 1: of completely sharp plays and totally square plays right now?
- 55:45Speaker 1: In the Giants.
- 55:47Speaker 2: They're all sharp. You got it. You'll come around on them.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Arizona. I put down New Orleans plus three.
- 55:54Speaker 3: We're not fucking putting New Orleans plus three.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Carolina plus seven, then the Colts minus three, Seattle minus
- 56:02Speaker 1: three and a half. Maybe I'll put the Bears in
- 56:05Speaker 1: there just to have Yeah, it's fun. Chargers at Denver.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Denver's five and a half. Right now. If there was
- 56:13Speaker 1: a time I would want to back Sean Payton, it's
- 56:15Speaker 1: in this spot, like a tiny little chance off of
- 56:19Speaker 1: an embarrassing loss in which his team was outplayed. He
- 56:22Speaker 1: was out coach that gave away all the momentum they
- 56:24Speaker 1: had built up in the middle of the season. The
- 56:27Speaker 1: Chargers had their dead cat bounce right they were at
- 56:30Speaker 1: home against Buffalo, they had their shot, almost pulled it off.
- 56:33Speaker 1: I don't like the number. I don't like the fact
- 56:36Speaker 1: that the division favorites play so badly against the spread
- 56:41Speaker 1: the past decade, the past five years, But I do
- 56:46Speaker 1: like the Broncos in this spot.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and shockingly, somehow, the Broncos are still fighting for
- 56:53Speaker 3: their division.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Pretty crazy to think one of the dumber bets I've
- 56:59Speaker 3: ever made might actually hit because the Chiefs have just
- 57:02Speaker 3: been an absolute trainerick this season. But yeah, Chad's right,
- 57:06Speaker 3: Like I wanted to be on the Chargers but didn't
- 57:09Speaker 3: get there. No, and the numbers just shouldn't be this low.
- 57:12Speaker 3: If it was seven to seven and a half like
- 57:14Speaker 3: the Patriots number, Yeah, I get there, but at five,
- 57:18Speaker 3: it feels.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Like the value is on this Denver team that you know.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Like Chad said, they're just a team that can't stop
- 57:25Speaker 3: shooting themselves in the foot, Like they'd be probably ten
- 57:27Speaker 3: to eleven wins by now if they just didn't make
- 57:29Speaker 3: so many stupid mistakes all season. So yeah, scary betting
- 57:34Speaker 3: on Denver team with this bag of my number. But
- 57:36Speaker 3: it's even worse back in a Chargers team coming off
- 57:38Speaker 3: last week, where it's just they're over valued like this number,
- 57:41Speaker 3: this number should not be this low just because the
- 57:43Speaker 3: Chargers had a bunch of turnover luck against the Bills team.
- 57:46Speaker 2: So I'm with you, Chad, I'll back Denver here.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Uh speaking to Chargers, I mean speaking of Chiefs. Cincinnati
- 57:52Speaker 1: isn't that away seven point underdog on the road at
- 57:55Speaker 1: Kansas City. The number opened at eight, moved down to
- 57:59Speaker 1: seven and a half, even in the last couple hours
- 58:01Speaker 1: has moved from seven and a half to seven, so
- 58:04Speaker 1: lines are moving. The Raiders won this game because of
- 58:06Speaker 1: their pass rush. Aidan O'Connell had less than sixty five
- 58:09Speaker 1: yards passing mahomes when he had his full complement of
- 58:13Speaker 1: receivers and wasn't basically teaching them rudimentary skills when Travis
- 58:18Speaker 1: Kelcey wasn't playing, was playing at like his peak Travis
- 58:23Speaker 1: Kelcey level. Patrick Mahomes as a favorite of more than
- 58:26Speaker 1: a field goal was under five hundred. Now he's not
- 58:29Speaker 1: getting any of those things. And now we're talking about
- 58:31Speaker 1: Taylor Swift curses. This team's in trouble, not like not
- 58:36Speaker 1: going to make the playoffs kind of trouble, but they're
- 58:39Speaker 1: trying to figure out who they are offensively.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, a great Evans that I saw. This is where
- 58:45Speaker 3: you can't take too much away from divisional games. I
- 58:47Speaker 3: try not to react to the divisional games. Patrick Mahomes'
- 58:50Speaker 3: career loss is a double digit favorite. He has one
- 58:54Speaker 3: against all their teams, so he's twenty one to one
- 58:57Speaker 3: against the Raiders. He is two, he's three and as
- 59:00Speaker 3: a double digit favorite in his career straight up.
- 59:02Speaker 2: So it's crazy.
- 59:04Speaker 3: It's bizarre, But that's how these divisional games are for
- 59:07Speaker 3: some teams, right, Some teams just match up well and
- 59:09Speaker 3: have other teams numbers. And that Max Crosby thing with
- 59:12Speaker 3: Mahomes is real. Like I don't know if you remember
- 59:15Speaker 3: that NFL doc when they did it. Yeah, like that
- 59:18Speaker 3: was real beef. And you know, every play you watch
- 59:22Speaker 3: with Crosby anytime he touches them every little thing. He's
- 59:25Speaker 3: just always bugging them all game. And it got to Mahomes.
- 59:28Speaker 3: I mean, Mahomes is anyone's.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Brand or person.
- 59:31Speaker 3: I take a bigger hit this season than him, Like
- 59:33Speaker 3: he not that he's a whiny little bitch, but he
- 59:36Speaker 3: can be a whiny little bitch. Like he's on the
- 59:38Speaker 3: sideline bitching, complaining, and he got Kelsey come off the
- 59:42Speaker 3: field throwing his helmet and like they're just they're this
- 59:45Speaker 3: team that just felt like.
- 59:48Speaker 2: You know, there're about to be a dynasty, right.
- 59:50Speaker 3: They have just incredible talent across the board, and it's
- 59:55Speaker 3: all falling apart a little bit, Like there's just so
- 59:57Speaker 3: many things wrong with this offense and how how bad
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: they are, and just Mahomes, who's the best quarterback in football,
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: can make these incredible plays, make all these guys miss
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: do all this crazy shit, and then this guy just
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: drops it and like even Kelsey's having bad drops. You know,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: thirty four years old. I get he's gotten older. I
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: don't know if that's what's the blame here, Like, I
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: don't know if you can just blame his age because
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: he is getting open, but he's having bad drops where
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: he's doing like little stupid plays that's just not very
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: Kelsey type. So all the doubt everything being said about
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: this Chiefs team is warranted right now. They're just something's
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: off and everyone knows something's off. And it's the same
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: thing with like Eagles, like something's just off about that
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Eagles team. It feels the same with this Chiefs team,
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: where it's like we keep waiting for them to get
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: into form and be that team that you know, it's
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: still scary to have to play them in the playoffs,
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: but it's not what it used to be where it's
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: like you're not dreaded all week where it's like, yeah,
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: you're a little scared of playing them. It's Mahomes still,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: but like, I'm not scared about this team that can't
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: put up more than twenty points per game, right They're
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: just because of these lotter offenses.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: It's just that you just struggle so hard.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: So if you're a Chiefs fan, not that this is
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: exactly where you want to be, but it's like, you
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: guys have never been counted out like this before in
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: the Mahomes error, Like this is as low as it gets, right,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: so if you are someone that's buying them this week,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I totally get it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I just can't get there.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I'm assuming you want to take Sincy two, right, Like,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: since he's still at seven seven and a half, it's
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: a good number. I just I can't take the Chiefs
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: as as big as a big of a favorite, like
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: you give me a Holmes as a dog or under three.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I'm back in, but at this number against this team,
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: cannot do it. Like I'll ride with this Sincy team
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: on the road at seven seven and a half.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: YEP. A couple of things, I'll say One, we see
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: this every year in the NFL. We're going to see
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: We've already seen how the Eagles are going to lose
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: in the playaffs, Right, It's going to be a stupid
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: turnover at some point in a game, and I guess
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: a team they shouldn't lose against. We've seen how the
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Chiefs are going to lose in the playoffs. It's going
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: to be a receiver or someone else, Travis Kelce dropping
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the ball. These are concentration things, and like, I don't
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: know that they're going to get better through two or
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: three days of practices during the week. They get better
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: when you're practicing catching five hundred balls a day, and
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: these guys just haven't gotten to that level yet where
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: they're able to execute in a way that the Chiefs
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: have in the past. I disagree that Mahomes has been
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: a little bit of a whining bitch. I think he's
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: confronting bigger challenges than he's ever seen, and he's so
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: frustrated because his talent is so much greater than everybody
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: else's and he's doing the same thing.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: I keep it together, though you're the leader. You can't
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: be screaming and shouting every game on the sideline, like, dude,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: come on, there's only you see other quarterbacks doing that
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: every week?
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Chat? Or is it just Mahomes? What would you classify
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: as being a whiny little bitch?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Also? Tom Brady should do the same thing. Did you
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: call Tom Brady a whining little bitch?
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Once every other couple of weeks, or maybe every couple
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: of months. He's not doing it three weeks in a row.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: It's like Mahomes of being on a bad team right now,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: it's just the watch.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Honestly, the only guy who doesn't do it is Jalen Hurts,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: and now he's getting tagged, is not being emotional enough.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Show me Josh Allen losing his fucking mind on the
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: sideline after last week, Like, oh my god, there's guys
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: that make dumb plays all the time on the bills.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I don't see Josh Allen going ape shit on the sideline.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: We've seen Josh Allen lose his ship on the field before.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: We just have name it.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Yeah, man, Mitchell, the diehard Josh Allen guy, tell me
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: this season where you've seen Josh Allen screaming, waving his
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: hands up and down the sideline in three weeks in
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: a row.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: Josh Allen gets spooked like a beautiful horse. He doesn't

- 1:03:43Speaker 4: the blinders on him and get it back into his pet.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: But there's to me. Then we're parsing hairs on whininess, right,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Like he complains the officials he gets upset with other players,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: like either keep your cool or don't keep you cool.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: That's not a it's not a spec in which you
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: get to decide, all right, it's one way or the other.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Simon I want you to concentrate right now, and I
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: want you to think very hard on this next question.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Can you name the fastest growing ticketing app in the
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: United States?

- 1:04:14Speaker 1: That's right, it's our sponsor, game Time. I love game
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Time for two reasons. While they sponsored this show. Number two,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I actually use game Time to buy tickets. You guys know,

- 1:05:14Speaker 1: one and a half. This Simon is going to be
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: the exec decision. Give me the Green Bay Packers the.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Choice between the unthinkable and the impossible.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Are you have your orders? Thanks to cut enough executive decision.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Wise guys are leaning this way. I'm leaning this way.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: The trends are leaning this way, going against home faves
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: in the division. The Vikings offense has its moments, but
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: you said something really important earlier. They don't have the
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: talent at quarterback have enough of those moments. That's my take.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: That's what the wise guys are thinking. I'm not afraid
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: of the Vikings blitz against Jordan Love this season. One
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: area where he has been really good is against the blitz. Okay,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: give me Green Bay Packers exact decision.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say I would need I need
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: to look more into full Honestly, I actually haven't done
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: this game.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Uh, I don't. I haven't modeled this one yet. But
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: you know, give me a break. Yesterday it was Christmas.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Uh dude, you're allowed. You know, listen, I.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Love, I only missed three games and this is one
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: of them.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: But looking at this one, my initial reaction was to
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: take the Vikings just because it's like Green Bay's defense
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: can't stop anyone. I mean, we literally just saw Bryce
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Young put up his best career game of his life,
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: and it was all in the second half. Right, he
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: did nothing in the first half. It was all second
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: half of it was number second half. Green Bay's defense
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: has been really bad here down the stretch.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: And that is the fear.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: But I think Chad just said it, it's like if
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: I look at the numbers and Jordan Love is all
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: right against the Blitz, this Vikings team is very beautiful.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: I mean, they've been.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Playing so above what they should be because they have
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: really good coaching on the defensive side and offensive side.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: You know, just an incredible job by the whole coaching staff.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Just talk all the time about how important coaching is
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: in the NFL, how big a difference it is between
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: these really good teams who are consistently in the playoffs
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: and these teams that just have to hire a new
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: coach every three to four years, like the Chargers. It's
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: just there's some teams that just can't get it right.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: The Vikings nailed it, like they're coaching so good. But
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Chad said it like the talent wise, it's not there
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: for them. And this is essentially a playoff game between
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: these two teams, right, like both these teams need this
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: game to make the playoffs. Chad's right, like I like
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Green Bay as well. If you're scared of the number,
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: another game, just like the Cowboys last week, throw it
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: in a teaser like they're giving you the one and
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: a half. Put in the six point teaser and now
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: you got green Bay seven and a half. I can't
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: see a world where they can't at least cover seven
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: and a half green Bay here, like they're just the
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: back doors is always gonna be up on this Vikings defense. Again,
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: it's the team that's just held together with sticks and
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: bubble gum. They're just it's crazy they're at this point
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: where they can still make the playoffs, playing their fourth
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: different quarterback this season. It is bizarre, but I like
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: to play Chad. I'm with you on Green Bay. Hopefully
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: the sharp call is matchup what you're saying here, because
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I haven't talk to anyone that's back to yet, but
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I'm looking at in our app right now, it looks
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: like the money is coming in on Green Bay, So Chad,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Chad's probably right on this one.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: It probably is the professional side.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I will tell you simon the level of gratification I
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: get when you agree with what I say is completely
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: inappropriate for a man of my Agian accomplishments. I should
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: not get that much satisfaction when I feel that you
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: genuinely agree with me, or when I feel that I
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: am genuinely predicting exactly what you're going to say, it's
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: totally inappropriate.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: I'm happy as well, because like last week, the nightmare scenario,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: where it's like I don't want to be on opposite
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: sides and I don't want to be mean to you,
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: but it's like when you said the forty nine ers,
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: I try to be as gentle as I could. I
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: just kept saying you're on the wrong side, and that's
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: as nice as I can be, because people know I
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: have a little bit of mean streak in me, but
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I've gotten nicer over the years. Like I just I
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: try to view it from all all advantage points. I
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: know that if I kill child kindness, maybe he'll come
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: around to my side rather than trying to bullieve it
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: to be.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: On my side.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Oh, my god, you're the best. You are the fucking best.
