- 0:03Speaker 1: with IR Radio. Hey everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. Guests,
- 0:10Speaker 1: Who's back, bends back? What's up everybody? Yeah? All right,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Before we go into all the details of his wedding
- 0:20Speaker 1: and his honeymoon, we want to give the Batch Brack
- 0:24Speaker 1: Rule of the week so that we don't forget because
- 0:26Speaker 1: I mean, wow, we have like so much like juicy
- 0:29Speaker 1: stuff about it from our way that like you know,
- 0:31Speaker 1: we don't we don't want to cut up in it. Okay,
- 0:33Speaker 1: batch bragget Rule of the week. Um for week eight,
- 0:36Speaker 1: which is December seven, is plus ten when a contestant
- 0:41Speaker 1: says that they want to slash can see themselves starting
- 0:46Speaker 1: to have a family, slash having kids with Michelle. All right,
- 0:52Speaker 1: you're you're not going to get I mean, there's only
- 0:53Speaker 1: four left, so they're all gonna say that. I would
- 0:57Speaker 1: think that everybody gets pretty left at that point, right,
- 1:00Speaker 1: everybody wins? Yeah? Yeah, okay, So Ben's back and Ben
- 1:08Speaker 1: Easan and I of course talked about your beautiful wedding
- 1:12Speaker 1: and how perfect this ceremony was and how beautiful your
- 1:16Speaker 1: bride was and how great it was to see everyone.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Now everything was just set up so nicely and like
- 1:22Speaker 1: there's just so much love and warmth in the air. Uh,
- 1:25Speaker 1: give it to us from your perspective, like was the day?
- 1:28Speaker 1: The day turned out exactly the way that you wanted
- 1:30Speaker 1: it to. Well, a lot of that is going to
- 1:32Speaker 1: be dependent on you, um, and I'll explain why. I'll
- 1:37Speaker 1: explain why. So when Jessica and I planned this wedding,
- 1:43Speaker 1: the hope of this wedding was that we knew we
- 1:46Speaker 1: would have the most fun no matter what, right, we
- 1:48Speaker 1: would have a great time. It was gonna be our
- 1:50Speaker 1: special day, like we're marrying each other. We were ready
- 1:54Speaker 1: for this moment. But everything that we decided on details
- 1:57Speaker 1: or how it was going to be set up was
- 1:58Speaker 1: depending on We would have have even more fun if
- 2:01Speaker 1: everybody else had fun, Like we wanted it to feel
- 2:04Speaker 1: like a celebration and so, and before I go into
- 2:07Speaker 1: the details of that day and kind of what that
- 2:09Speaker 1: felt like to us, do you mind answering the question
- 2:13Speaker 1: is on it like I want you to do honestly,
- 2:14Speaker 1: do you did you have a good time at this wedding? Oh?
- 2:17Speaker 1: My god, we had a blast. It was great. It
- 2:19Speaker 1: truly was a big celebration feel we had so much fun,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I can't imagine it being better. Well that makes me
- 2:28Speaker 1: happy because then, yes, it was a success. And we
- 2:31Speaker 1: mean I don't know if anybody would tell us they
- 2:32Speaker 1: didn't have a good time when it's your own wedding. Um,
- 2:35Speaker 1: But so far the responses have been really positive. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: one of the ways we did this was, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: we didn't do a sit down dinner. We did um
- 2:45Speaker 1: food stands. Uh, not only because it's a lot more
- 2:48Speaker 1: COVID safe, but also because it just we didn't want
- 2:52Speaker 1: to stop the party as soon as the seramony was over.
- 2:55Speaker 1: We wanted the party to start, and we did that. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 1: there was no lull no like you no, no, you
- 3:00Speaker 1: didn't have like any there wasn't any cocktail hour, so
- 3:04Speaker 1: like there was no break in the festivity. Feel No,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you walk into the reception and the party starts. So
- 3:11Speaker 1: a couple of things that happened that nobody knows yet. Um,
- 3:16Speaker 1: we had an incredible opportunity. Jessica's favorite song with her
- 3:21Speaker 1: father is Cinderella. UM. And that is a song that
- 3:26Speaker 1: so many people uh danced to at their wedding. Uh.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It's something that you know, for Jessica, her dad and
- 3:35Speaker 1: her dance to it as their children, and they had
- 3:41Speaker 1: the original artist, um, Michael W. Smith. He recorded a
- 3:48Speaker 1: video because he couldn't be there at the wedding, a
- 3:50Speaker 1: video for Jessica and her dad to dance to at
- 3:55Speaker 1: the at the reception, which I didn't know what was happening,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and it rocked me, like, oh, that's so cute. Yeah,
- 4:04Speaker 1: So that was the original writer, Michael de w Smith. Um.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You look up Michael de W Smith Cinderella song and
- 4:11Speaker 1: it would come up, and so he recorded a lot
- 4:14Speaker 1: not alive. He recorded a video of him singing it.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I thought it turned out awesome. My mom and I
- 4:19Speaker 1: dance to Ben rector Um extraordinary magic um. And I
- 4:26Speaker 1: thought those two that was like two very special moments.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Her dad loves her a ton, She loves her dad
- 4:30Speaker 1: a ton, uh and he's been very supportive through this
- 4:34Speaker 1: whole thing for this wedding, uh and to see him
- 4:36Speaker 1: dance together was really special. And then to have my
- 4:38Speaker 1: mom and I dance together who you know, it's very
- 4:41Speaker 1: we're very close, who I love dearly um, who's a friend,
- 4:45Speaker 1: who's a mentor everything to me. And just be able
- 4:47Speaker 1: to have that that that that that might be outside
- 4:50Speaker 1: of the ceremony. My favorite parts of weddings just those
- 4:54Speaker 1: little private moments where you can see parents, you know, gladfully,
- 4:58Speaker 1: joyfully pass their kids off and say, you guys, go
- 5:02Speaker 1: try this thing now, ums you. My favorite part of
- 5:06Speaker 1: your wedding was your vows um her walking down the
- 5:11Speaker 1: aisle and just like the tent was so like well
- 5:14Speaker 1: lit at that point. And that's one of the nice
- 5:16Speaker 1: things about the sun's setting so early. It's like it
- 5:19Speaker 1: really it wasn't candlelight, but it felt like candle light.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And I'm like looking over people trying to see your face.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I got little glimpses, and of course like seeing your
- 5:29Speaker 1: face watching her was was one of my favorite parts.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And then I loved the rehearsal dinner with all the speeches,
- 5:36Speaker 1: particularly both sets of parents. Speeches were just they were wonderful.
- 5:41Speaker 1: They had such great stories and they're just there's there
- 5:45Speaker 1: were everything you'd imagine Ben Higgins Ben Higgins wedding uh
- 5:52Speaker 1: speech to be like, you know, even though you were
- 5:54Speaker 1: the one giving that giving it like it was like
- 5:58Speaker 1: you all over it just like warm and wonderful and hey,
- 6:02Speaker 1: Ben's not perfect. Tries really hard. Yeah, I love no,
- 6:08Speaker 1: I said. I said the line was Ben's not perfect,
- 6:10Speaker 1: but he tries really hard, and I was like, that's perfect.
- 6:13Speaker 1: That's all I need. He just he just dries well. Actley.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You know, you were the only person from the Bachelor
- 6:19Speaker 1: World at the rehearsal, Um, but we shared a lot
- 6:22Speaker 1: of life together now, I mean we've been doing this
- 6:23Speaker 1: podcast together for so many years. Um, we've seen a
- 6:28Speaker 1: lot of ups and downs, you know, through relationship, through life,
- 6:31Speaker 1: through struggles, through you know, wondering where this goes. So
- 6:34Speaker 1: that was special to have you there. And it was
- 6:37Speaker 1: really special to have Jared fly from King Kong to
- 6:41Speaker 1: to even be at the wedding because that was not easy,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and uh, it's just been a lot to see him.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But yeah, So the wedding itself was wonderful at every
- 6:51Speaker 1: level for us. I mean it's it's such an amazing day, uh,
- 6:55Speaker 1: full of celebration leading up to even the weekend ahead.
- 6:58Speaker 1: We got to you know, obviously have the pursl which
- 7:01Speaker 1: was beautiful and um so so intimate, and then I
- 7:07Speaker 1: got to have all of my buddies, uh stay at
- 7:10Speaker 1: the venue. There was a separate house at Cherokee Docks
- 7:12Speaker 1: where we got married where they got to stay with
- 7:14Speaker 1: me and kind of celebrate with me and send me off. Well, Um,
- 7:19Speaker 1: the venue was perfect, Cherokee Docks and uh, just north
- 7:22Speaker 1: of Nashville, Tennessee. Was the best thing you I could
- 7:24Speaker 1: have thought of. Uh. And then the Jordan Con Orchestra
- 7:27Speaker 1: with the Taylor Pace band was the band that played.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And Taylor Pace and his crew, I mean, Ashley, come on,
- 7:35Speaker 1: are they not one of the best bands we had,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Jordan Con. You had Jordan Con, I know, and they're
- 7:41Speaker 1: both is incredible, Yes, they're They're amazing. They had five
- 7:50Speaker 1: hours people were dancing. Um. But the ceremony so that
- 7:53Speaker 1: the details of the ceremony were this. We had three officiants,
- 7:56Speaker 1: each one of them from different stages in our life,
- 7:58Speaker 1: which I really liked in the way that you did
- 8:00Speaker 1: it really worked. It wasn't weird to have three different
- 8:04Speaker 1: ones really good, not at all. It was her family's
- 8:09Speaker 1: pastor that started because we wanted m her dad j
- 8:14Speaker 1: to be able to send off Jessica to his friend
- 8:17Speaker 1: like standing out there. And then after that was a
- 8:20Speaker 1: buddy of my named Chad Bergman, who was a pastor
- 8:22Speaker 1: out here in Denver for years. He no longer lives here,
- 8:24Speaker 1: but he's stayed a tremendous friend of mine then has
- 8:27Speaker 1: had a huge impact in Jessica and I his relationship.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And then the final one was Denny Wilson, who's from Warsaw,
- 8:32Speaker 1: who is my pastor growing up and also uh one
- 8:37Speaker 1: of my parents best friends. And so it worked. We
- 8:40Speaker 1: didn't know if it would. We just knew we wanted
- 8:42Speaker 1: them involved and if it didn't work, it didn't work,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but we wanted them all involved in it, and it
- 8:46Speaker 1: did work. Um, I was I was very composed. I
- 8:50Speaker 1: thought up until the moment where Jessica did her vows
- 8:53Speaker 1: and she ended it with a lifetime with you wouldn't
- 8:57Speaker 1: be long enough, and I lost it, Like it just
- 9:02Speaker 1: to have somebody look across at you and tell you
- 9:05Speaker 1: that and mean it. I know from the depths of
- 9:08Speaker 1: her soul is something so incredible, like to have another
- 9:13Speaker 1: human look at you and say I love you and
- 9:16Speaker 1: I like you so much that the rest of my
- 9:20Speaker 1: life is not long enough with you. Um really like
- 9:25Speaker 1: took my like it took every it took everything out
- 9:28Speaker 1: of me, like it just did. It just sucked, like
- 9:31Speaker 1: it was like I was filling at that moment, I
- 9:33Speaker 1: felt like I was I was filling up with something whole,
- 9:35Speaker 1: brand new. I've loved her, and I've loved her for
- 9:38Speaker 1: a long time, and I know she loved me, and
- 9:40Speaker 1: you know, we've been sharing life together for years now.
- 9:43Speaker 1: But there was something about that moment in particular that
- 9:46Speaker 1: that hit hard for me. It did, um. So then
- 9:52Speaker 1: I did my vows. I was able to keep it together. UM.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I had written him, you know, off and on for
- 9:58Speaker 1: the last couple of months, and they've changed a little
- 10:01Speaker 1: bit as time's gone on and as different things have happened.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But I really in those people at the wedding, where like,
- 10:08Speaker 1: how how did you go about right in your vows?
- 10:10Speaker 1: And really I did it was this I thought, Okay,
- 10:13Speaker 1: what uh does the I wanted to write in three sections,
- 10:16Speaker 1: what does the world think of Jessica? Like, how can I,
- 10:18Speaker 1: in this moment in front of so many friends and
- 10:20Speaker 1: family tell her how she's seen and how people feel
- 10:23Speaker 1: about her? And then also the next section was what
- 10:28Speaker 1: does Jessica do for me as a man? Like? What
- 10:30Speaker 1: does she do for me in our partnership? And then
- 10:32Speaker 1: the final was what are we gonna do together? Uh?
- 10:35Speaker 1: And what can I do for her. And I told
- 10:38Speaker 1: her before the week before the wedding, I'm not gonna
- 10:40Speaker 1: make many promises in my vows because you know, I
- 10:42Speaker 1: don't know if I'm gonna keep all of them. Some
- 10:44Speaker 1: of them I am, But I'm not gonna get up
- 10:45Speaker 1: there and say, hey, I'm always gonna be happy or hey,
- 10:47Speaker 1: I'm always gonna stand by your side, because I don't know.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I might get weak and fail and fail her at
- 10:52Speaker 1: some level. So I really want to communicate to her
- 10:54Speaker 1: that I'm gonna do my best to be her best
- 10:57Speaker 1: partner possible, that I'm gonna love her with everything I got.
- 11:01Speaker 1: UM that, yeah, a lifetime with her is not long
- 11:05Speaker 1: enough either, And UM, it was special. The vows are
- 11:10Speaker 1: something that I'll never forget looking at her and be
- 11:12Speaker 1: able to do that, and then looking out at the
- 11:15Speaker 1: crowd and seeing people from the Bachelor world, people from
- 11:17Speaker 1: my childhood, people from my my first job in Denver,
- 11:22Speaker 1: family and friends, grandparents, Um, sitting out there in this
- 11:28Speaker 1: beautiful tent that we got married in. UM, I don't
- 11:33Speaker 1: know for those that get married or for those who
- 11:35Speaker 1: have this moment like it, it's something super sacred and uh,
- 11:38Speaker 1: and I think that's I don't know, there's there's there's
- 11:41Speaker 1: not many words you can put behind that feeling of
- 11:45Speaker 1: just being feeling so supported. M hmm, yeah, I know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I know, I've told you this, but it's like unfortunate
- 11:52Speaker 1: that you'll never get all those people in a room
- 11:55Speaker 1: together ever again. I know, I know. But that's why.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Also we wanted them dancing and sell a braining because
- 12:00Speaker 1: if we're gonna get him in one room once, we
- 12:01Speaker 1: wanted to celebrate, like this is a celebration. We want
- 12:04Speaker 1: to make that very clear. This is a great thing,
- 12:06Speaker 1: this is this is not you know, just can I
- 12:09Speaker 1: losing our lives. In fact, uh, my freedoms and my
- 12:13Speaker 1: ability to dream has gotten greater when Jessica is in
- 12:16Speaker 1: my life. And I hoped she would say the same thing.
- 12:18Speaker 1: And so we wanted this to be a celebration because
- 12:20Speaker 1: if you're gonna have everybody there once, let's make magic happen.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And I'm telling you actually can attest. For five hours,
- 12:26Speaker 1: people danced five hours straight. People were dancing and drinking
- 12:30Speaker 1: and eating and celebrating. Um, we didn't get to say
- 12:33Speaker 1: hi to everybody, and we definitely didn't get to have
- 12:35Speaker 1: any intimate conversations with anybody there. Um. But hopefully as
- 12:41Speaker 1: our life continues, those people will still be around for
- 12:43Speaker 1: us to have those conversations with, just not in a
- 12:45Speaker 1: room full of people that we would love to be
- 12:47Speaker 1: talking to. So you had four people there, you didn't
- 12:51Speaker 1: get to say hi to everyone? Are you still happy
- 12:54Speaker 1: that you had such a big wedding? I am? I am,
- 12:56Speaker 1: because there's still even people that I wish we could
- 12:58Speaker 1: have invited that we didn't get to. Um. You know,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I think there's pros and cons. The cons are that, yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you don't, but even if we had fifty people there,
- 13:07Speaker 1: we wouldn't be didn't. Yeah I had, and I didn't
- 13:12Speaker 1: say hi to half of them because Jared and I
- 13:15Speaker 1: did a thing where it was you go say hi
- 13:18Speaker 1: to your side, I'll say how to my side? If
- 13:20Speaker 1: I haven't met the people on your side, today is
- 13:23Speaker 1: not the day for me to meet them. It's not
- 13:26Speaker 1: because it's hard to talk. It's hard to dig in
- 13:28Speaker 1: because there's always somebody pulling you in a different direction
- 13:30Speaker 1: to And one thing I promised Jessica was if we
- 13:33Speaker 1: had a big wedding, I would make sure that we
- 13:35Speaker 1: got time to dance together. And so you know that
- 13:38Speaker 1: at at some point in time we said we're gonna
- 13:40Speaker 1: go dance together, We're gonna get up and just have fun.
- 13:44Speaker 1: We did and so unfortunately, like yes, some people we
- 13:46Speaker 1: didn't get say hi too. But again I hope that
- 13:50Speaker 1: as life moves on now outside the wedding, we see
- 13:52Speaker 1: those people and we can talk to about our wedding,
- 13:54Speaker 1: we can talk to about life, we can catch up
- 13:55Speaker 1: with him. Um. But yeah, it didn't matter the size,
- 13:58Speaker 1: We're gonna be able to say hi to everybody. Anyways. Hey,
- 14:01Speaker 1: how about that garter toss? Talking about a moment that
- 14:03Speaker 1: you guys had together on the dance floor. Was that good?
- 14:09Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we didn't do that and it is.
- 14:11Speaker 1: It was so funny to watch it. The dress feel
- 14:17Speaker 1: like yeah, like, how did you feel doing that in
- 14:19Speaker 1: front of everyone? Well, Jesskin knew this. Um, I wasn't
- 14:22Speaker 1: like thrilled about it like I was. Well, I was
- 14:26Speaker 1: nervous about you know, it just looks funny, like you're
- 14:29Speaker 1: sticking want to do it for a traditional sake? Well
- 14:32Speaker 1: I wanted to do it. There wasn't that. I just
- 14:34Speaker 1: was like anxious about the idea of like, hey, I'm
- 14:37Speaker 1: putting my head up her wedding dress in front of
- 14:40Speaker 1: four hundred of our friends and family, like that's ah,
- 14:43Speaker 1: that's a very intimate moment. And and so finally I
- 14:47Speaker 1: just decided maybe it was like one one shot at
- 14:50Speaker 1: tequila or something. I just said, I'm just gonna do it,
- 14:52Speaker 1: like there's no like, just go after it. And so
- 14:54Speaker 1: I did. I went up and I grabbed it with
- 14:56Speaker 1: my teeth because I've seen that done before. I've never
- 14:58Speaker 1: been taught on how to do it. I really it
- 15:00Speaker 1: off and then I flung it in the back. But yes,
- 15:02Speaker 1: it feels weird, Like I mean, I don't know if
- 15:05Speaker 1: I'll ever get to the age. You know, my parents
- 15:08Speaker 1: are pretty open like about like they're like romance, Like
- 15:12Speaker 1: they joke about it, they laugh about it. It's always
- 15:14Speaker 1: been something I've grown up with, like they don't shy
- 15:16Speaker 1: away from it. And so I, you know, I I
- 15:19Speaker 1: guess I'm very comfortable like joking about that because you're
- 15:21Speaker 1: you're married. That happens um. But I don't know if
- 15:26Speaker 1: I ever get to the age where I feel super
- 15:28Speaker 1: comfortable like with physical intimacy in front of friends and family,
- 15:33Speaker 1: Like I just don't know beyond like a little kiss,
- 15:36Speaker 1: like yeah. Yeah, Like I'm not trying to get hot
- 15:38Speaker 1: and heavy in a room full of people, ever talk
- 15:41Speaker 1: in detail parents. Yeah, there's some people who talk about
- 15:46Speaker 1: sex with their parents so openly, and I'm like, I
- 15:48Speaker 1: will never be like that. Just the fact that we
- 15:51Speaker 1: talked about like conception of the day it may have
- 15:54Speaker 1: happened was just far enough. But I definitely am not
- 15:58Speaker 1: as at all closed off as some of these guys
- 16:01Speaker 1: in the Bachelorette episode were, which like they didn't talk
- 16:04Speaker 1: they don't talk to their parents about romance or feelings
- 16:06Speaker 1: at all. No, And I mean that was shocking to me. Shocking.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I mean, you know, my extent to extent, like my
- 16:13Speaker 1: parents didn't know every day I had in college. They
- 16:16Speaker 1: didn't know every person that I've hung out with. Uh,
- 16:20Speaker 1: they didn't know you know always even like some of
- 16:23Speaker 1: my most massive like heartbreaks, you know, they were there
- 16:27Speaker 1: for some of them, like ironically, just like randomly in
- 16:30Speaker 1: the same place as I was when I got them.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And even then, you know, I didn't go into detail
- 16:36Speaker 1: with him, but I I mean usually there's just like
- 16:38Speaker 1: one or two people that I would And your parents
- 16:41Speaker 1: have this thing where like they're so protective of you
- 16:44Speaker 1: like they're obviously going to choose your side, and most things,
- 16:47Speaker 1: most parents would that. You know, you want them to
- 16:49Speaker 1: love on you. You wanted to be there, Um, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: like sharing the details of the good and the bad
- 16:55Speaker 1: doesn't always feel helpful because they're gonna come at it
- 16:57Speaker 1: from one angle and that's you know, in support of you.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And so yeah, unless unless you're Jared, they're like, do
- 17:07Speaker 1: you tell him how wonderful he is? Do you know
- 17:10Speaker 1: how lucky you are already? Well, great, let's go, let's
- 17:15Speaker 1: get back to the wedding. Um, anything else about the
- 17:19Speaker 1: wedding itself that you want to mention before we go
- 17:23Speaker 1: on to more of the honeymoon portion. Yeah, I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 1: uh so. One thing we did was a suggestion from
- 17:29Speaker 1: everybody we talked to was, and this is for anybody
- 17:33Speaker 1: out there, take a moment and look around the ceremony
- 17:36Speaker 1: is the best time to do it. Like take a breath,
- 17:38Speaker 1: look around it, Like take a moment and just soak
- 17:41Speaker 1: in all the eyes looking at you and all the
- 17:43Speaker 1: souls and the beat people that are sitting in your audience.
- 17:46Speaker 1: That's a big deal. We did that. Then after the ceremony,
- 17:49Speaker 1: we did go and spend fifteen to twenty minutes and
- 17:51Speaker 1: we just eight together. Um, nothing else really happened. We
- 17:54Speaker 1: just literally sat down eight and had to drink and
- 17:57Speaker 1: just were like, Holy cow, it's happening. We're at our
- 18:00Speaker 1: this is going on. And then we walked out into
- 18:03Speaker 1: the reception and we danced. Um, Jessica and I danced
- 18:07Speaker 1: to a song by Cody Johnson called on My Way
- 18:10Speaker 1: to You, Uh. And the whole reason we chose that
- 18:13Speaker 1: is because if you listen to words, it just talks
- 18:15Speaker 1: about this guy Um who has this beautiful girl now
- 18:19Speaker 1: in his life, and it tells the story of him.
- 18:22Speaker 1: All the kisses he's had, all the heartbreaks he's had,
- 18:24Speaker 1: all the people he's hurt, all the stupid things he's done,
- 18:28Speaker 1: have all led him to this amazing human. And that
- 18:33Speaker 1: song felt like it matched us, Like, you know, Jessica
- 18:36Speaker 1: is about his um. She's just a great human like her.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Her scars and wounds that she's caused other people and
- 18:44Speaker 1: herself are a lot less than mine. And somehow, you know,
- 18:47Speaker 1: at the end of it all, I get to marry her.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And so that song really felt good to us, and
- 18:52Speaker 1: it still feels great to us. We still dance to
- 18:54Speaker 1: it um and when it is always gonna have a
- 18:56Speaker 1: special place in our hearts. So, uh, that was the wedding.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And then after the wedding, we left on a pontoon
- 19:04Speaker 1: and uh and it was amazing, actually, let me tell
- 19:07Speaker 1: you this. So it was a big deal for Jessica's
- 19:09Speaker 1: mom to get me a pontoon to leave from because
- 19:11Speaker 1: I grew up on a lake and I just love
- 19:13Speaker 1: the pontoon. So it's like ten thirty and night we
- 19:16Speaker 1: get in this pontoon. It's freezing. So we stepped back
- 19:18Speaker 1: in the back with the two captains, Captain Trippi and
- 19:21Speaker 1: Captain Jesse, and they really don't have any They're great,
- 19:26Speaker 1: like so nice, but they don't have any like sentiment
- 19:29Speaker 1: for it being our wedding night. They're just like they're
- 19:31Speaker 1: talking to us about fishing. Uh. They're talking and they
- 19:35Speaker 1: take a huge lap around the lake, like showing us
- 19:37Speaker 1: all the different things of the lake, which was awesome.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Jesse is like, I'm freezing. She's in her wedding dress
- 19:45Speaker 1: like looking so beautiful, sitting in the back of a
- 19:47Speaker 1: pontoon with Trippy and Jesse. And then Trippy and Jesse
- 19:50Speaker 1: dropped us off back at the venue at the mansion
- 19:54Speaker 1: because we actually stayed there, um, which nobody knew because
- 19:58Speaker 1: there was you know, this man in his Reba McIntyre's
- 20:01Speaker 1: house three years ago. Huge beautiful, and so we actually
- 20:05Speaker 1: stayed in Reba's master bedroom. Um, so cool. So that
- 20:11Speaker 1: was like the one thing I was curious about. I
- 20:13Speaker 1: was like, what's in that house? Though? I want to
- 20:15Speaker 1: see inside the house? Okay, so you guys stay that
- 20:17Speaker 1: there was like your honeymoon. That's so cool. Insane movie theater, arcade,
- 20:21Speaker 1: weightlifting room, three story closet that has like the dry
- 20:25Speaker 1: cleaner machine going up at three story yes, yeah, leading
- 20:31Speaker 1: up to her master bedroom. Like insane stuff. Ash But
- 20:35Speaker 1: it's just a venue now, not a venue. But if
- 20:39Speaker 1: anybody's getting married, just a venue. But if anybody is
- 20:41Speaker 1: getting married in Nashville, I'm telling you this place is legit.
- 20:46Speaker 1: It was alright. So before we get into part two
- 20:51Speaker 1: of of the wedding festivities, let's take a quick break
- 20:55Speaker 1: and let them we anticipation linger m h Okay, So
- 21:10Speaker 1: wedding night, Eastad and I debated it a little, well,
- 21:13Speaker 1: we didn't really debate it, were like wondered. We pondered
- 21:16Speaker 1: because of couples don't really do anything on their wedding
- 21:20Speaker 1: night because they're so tired. Um, this is like a
- 21:24Speaker 1: real stat or. I remember this stat um. I of
- 21:27Speaker 1: course had to be traditional about it. I was like,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I don't care how tired or like, you know, tradition,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So, um, I'm not going
- 21:41Speaker 1: to ask you blatantly, but I'll say, when you guys
- 21:44Speaker 1: got back to your room, did you sleep or like,
- 21:47Speaker 1: did it take a while to sleep? I don't know
- 21:51Speaker 1: if you could ever say it takes a while. Um,
- 21:53Speaker 1: but actually after three three years, Um, no, we didn't sleep. Um,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but it was really fun, like we had a So
- 22:06Speaker 1: this is what happened. We went back, um, went upstairs. Uh,
- 22:11Speaker 1: and then um, we weren't tired yet, like our adrirenaline
- 22:14Speaker 1: was so high. Well there's that too. That's why, Like
- 22:17Speaker 1: I don't really know if I could buy the whole
- 22:19Speaker 1: like your tired thing. If you're tired, then maybe you
- 22:22Speaker 1: like went to like an after party with like friends
- 22:25Speaker 1: and you got back at three. I don't know, but
- 22:28Speaker 1: I I did not feel tired. No, did you notice
- 22:32Speaker 1: that we closed our wedding down at ten thirty? Because
- 22:34Speaker 1: Jessica and I are like, I don't care if it's
- 22:35Speaker 1: our wedding or not. When eleven o'clock rose around, we're
- 22:38Speaker 1: done with the day. Oh totally. I mean you and
- 22:42Speaker 1: I have similar mentalities on that. I think Jared and
- 22:44Speaker 1: I were out because it was like eleven thirty, but
- 22:47Speaker 1: I was like, I'm not hanging out with anybody afterward.
- 22:50Speaker 1: It is our wedding night. Yeah that's and we're gonna
- 22:53Speaker 1: carry me across the threshold. Did you carry her? I
- 22:57Speaker 1: did carry I actually carried upstairs. I didn't do that's
- 22:59Speaker 1: good at me and I have a bad knee. Um.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Actually I didn't carry up the stairs. I carried her
- 23:04Speaker 1: in the bedroom. Yeah, she's tiny, little girl. Um. And
- 23:09Speaker 1: then we went down to the kitchen because here's here's
- 23:11Speaker 1: the dream mash. So once everything was done, um, we
- 23:16Speaker 1: went downstairs. Uh. And the catering company had filled up
- 23:20Speaker 1: the refrigerator in the in the house with all of
- 23:23Speaker 1: the leftover pizza and cheeseburgers, not knowing, and so Jessica
- 23:28Speaker 1: and I loaded up. We we microwaved everything available. We
- 23:34Speaker 1: opened up another bottle of line, had a drink, um,
- 23:37Speaker 1: and just sat in this massive house with just the
- 23:40Speaker 1: two of us, and we're like we're married, and like
- 23:43Speaker 1: we're a couple, and now we're connected in a way
- 23:46Speaker 1: we haven't ever been. And it was just really like
- 23:49Speaker 1: it was a really fun evening and we stayed up
- 23:52Speaker 1: probably till one thirty talking and eating and drinking and laughing. Um,
- 23:57Speaker 1: but yeah, it was. It was a special night. I
- 23:59Speaker 1: would say, I'm shocked that the couples go to bed.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I want to look back on our wedding night and
- 24:05Speaker 1: at least like have as a marker uh far relationship.
- 24:09Speaker 1: But also I'd recommend doing something fun too, like without
- 24:13Speaker 1: you know, if you can get away from the cross
- 24:14Speaker 1: for a bit, like just like us, eating at that
- 24:18Speaker 1: kitchen table together afterwards will be something we remember forever,
- 24:23Speaker 1: like forever and ever. Okay, So then you left for
- 24:27Speaker 1: your honeymoon to Samet Barts. How you see, Sat Bart's
- 24:32Speaker 1: not Sat Barts, it's St bartholomy is the island. Um
- 24:37Speaker 1: it's best known as St. Barts. But I'm sure people
- 24:39Speaker 1: out there like St Bartholomy So um. We ended up
- 24:43Speaker 1: going back to her parents house the next day, so
- 24:45Speaker 1: we helped load up the cars. Her family had stayed
- 24:49Speaker 1: up near the venue that night, and then we went
- 24:51Speaker 1: back to her house and my parents and her extended
- 24:55Speaker 1: family because she has an Italian family that's massive. We
- 24:59Speaker 1: all had like a late brunch at her parents house
- 25:02Speaker 1: and then just watch football. I was exhausted and we
- 25:06Speaker 1: you know, we got a our COVID test done that
- 25:08Speaker 1: day for our flight the next day, and then we
- 25:10Speaker 1: went to bed early and we rested because we had
- 25:13Speaker 1: an early flight. We left it like six o'clock in
- 25:15Speaker 1: the morning at a Nashville to go to St. Bart's,
- 25:19Speaker 1: uh and start a honeymoon, which Ashley, I'm telling you. St.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Bart's is unlike any island in the Caribbean. So you know,
- 25:28Speaker 1: most of the time you go to a Caribbean island
- 25:29Speaker 1: and some of the stuff I love most about a
- 25:31Speaker 1: Cribbean island is you go and you get a cheeseburger
- 25:34Speaker 1: and a fish sandwich and you sit on the beach. Well. St.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Barts is set up to be like this very fancy
- 25:39Speaker 1: place with like Michelin star restaurants, five star resorts, huge houses.
- 25:44Speaker 1: That's why you always hear all these celebrities going to St. Bart's.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I mean, it's so different. But my favorite part of
- 25:52Speaker 1: the honeymoon outside of the obvious um was was there
- 25:57Speaker 1: like supposed to be a witk there? Nice um was.
- 26:01Speaker 1: We stayed at a resort called La Bar Thelamy and
- 26:06Speaker 1: it was just beautiful, a little resort only like fifty rooms.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Uh we a little private pool. You walk right of
- 26:11Speaker 1: our room onto the beach, and the sea turtles were
- 26:15Speaker 1: in the bay that our resort was on. And so
- 26:19Speaker 1: every day I got the snorkel with sea turtles. That's
- 26:23Speaker 1: so cool. It was so magical, Jessica. I went out
- 26:27Speaker 1: snorkeling one day. We saw five sea turtles and I
- 26:30Speaker 1: promise you one of them looked at us and waved.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I promise you that. So finding Nemo. What was up
- 26:36Speaker 1: with that burger with like the most massive amount of
- 26:39Speaker 1: cheese I've ever seen? Yeah, so one of the things
- 26:41Speaker 1: we'll find out in St. Bart's is there's nothing. Nothing
- 26:43Speaker 1: comes cheap. And so this burger was like thirty bucks.
- 26:48Speaker 1: You know, it's our honeymoon, So what are you gonna do? Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you didn't think about it, Yeah, but we um this
- 26:54Speaker 1: was at the resort. Labar told me had this burger
- 26:57Speaker 1: and it was it's like known for this like foamy beer, cheese,
- 27:02Speaker 1: jalapeno cheese, just like soaking over the burger. And I'm
- 27:07Speaker 1: telling you it was good and like especially on your
- 27:09Speaker 1: honeymoon after you've I guess I didn't watch my way
- 27:12Speaker 1: or you know, work out as much because my knee.
- 27:15Speaker 1: But like you know, Jessica was very very strict on
- 27:18Speaker 1: her diet and her exercise plan, and she hadn't drank
- 27:21Speaker 1: for two months before the wedding, so like her devouring
- 27:26Speaker 1: a cheeseburger was like heaven from my eyes. I want
- 27:30Speaker 1: to see. Um. But we we just toured the island.
- 27:33Speaker 1: We hiked a lot. Uh. We we took We went
- 27:36Speaker 1: out to incredible dinners every night. We you guys, hung
- 27:40Speaker 1: out at the same same bar every night. Every night
- 27:43Speaker 1: we went back to La Barthelmy and had an espresso martini. Um.
- 27:47Speaker 1: One the night we went to Italian restaurant. Here's a
- 27:49Speaker 1: good story. And Jessica, who is so tiny and can't
- 27:54Speaker 1: handle much alcohol, we had martiniz and we shared a
- 27:57Speaker 1: bottle of wine and she went back and we gotta
- 28:00Speaker 1: espresso martini and I have a video on my front.
- 28:03Speaker 1: She she didn't she didn't feel well. Let's say that. Yeah, um,
- 28:07Speaker 1: but she got but it was it was like you know,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I've never seen her do that before in my life. Um,
- 28:14Speaker 1: but there was something about the honeymoon whereas like we
- 28:18Speaker 1: just wanted to like have no worries, like we just
- 28:21Speaker 1: and like it was all in good fun and yeah
- 28:23Speaker 1: she she felt awful. Um, but I have these videos
- 28:29Speaker 1: on my phone and we have this like we have
- 28:30Speaker 1: these memories. Now. I don't know, as there's something there's
- 28:33Speaker 1: something really cool about being married and now having marriage memories.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Does it feel different? Saying does it feel different? It
- 28:41Speaker 1: feels different? Um, it does? We you know, we spend
- 28:45Speaker 1: a ton of time together in Denver, Uh, probably every
- 28:49Speaker 1: day of our lives if I'm not traveling, and there's
- 28:52Speaker 1: something about now that feels different. And this is how
- 28:54Speaker 1: I explained it to somebody before. When we're engaged, there's
- 28:57Speaker 1: something in my mind that was always saying like I'm
- 29:01Speaker 1: planning this or she's playing this because we're engaged, and
- 29:04Speaker 1: now ever anything we do that's big, we're doing it
- 29:08Speaker 1: together as a married couple. Like I'm not thinking five
- 29:12Speaker 1: years down the road now. I guess I had a
- 29:14Speaker 1: little bit of this when we're engaged, but now when
- 29:17Speaker 1: I think five years down the road, I know she's
- 29:19Speaker 1: gonna be there, like I know, she's gonna be my
- 29:22Speaker 1: side like we were. We were, we were in it,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and so we're making these decisions together, we're going through
- 29:28Speaker 1: life together, we're living together and for all looking together.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And you know, when I go on vacation now, I
- 29:34Speaker 1: want her there because I want my friend there. I
- 29:36Speaker 1: want my lover there like I want her with me,
- 29:38Speaker 1: And so it does feel different, um, and and you
- 29:43Speaker 1: you know, and I think it always will. Speaking about
- 29:47Speaker 1: living together, were you still you were not living in
- 29:50Speaker 1: that house that you're recording from. Technically were off and
- 29:54Speaker 1: on at the end of it. So I had I've
- 29:57Speaker 1: had renters come into my other house and so I
- 30:00Speaker 1: had to pick up and go, but I wasn't home.
- 30:02Speaker 1: So for the last you know, really after my surgery,
- 30:06Speaker 1: we had my parents um out here, and then uh,
- 30:11Speaker 1: Jessica was gone. She was in Nashville pretty much preparing
- 30:14Speaker 1: for this wedding. So not really um, but kind of
- 30:18Speaker 1: if we're like, hey, we'd never like I never was
- 30:21Speaker 1: like living at this house. I got most of my
- 30:22Speaker 1: stuff here, all of my stuff here, I guess, um
- 30:26Speaker 1: because the Renterests had moved in. So yeah, pretty much,
- 30:29Speaker 1: I can't. I can't say it wasn't like a it
- 30:33Speaker 1: was a slow transition, but it was it was necessary.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I don't know what else we could have done, um
- 30:38Speaker 1: as we were like leaving for the last three weeks,
- 30:41Speaker 1: just you know, with two mortgages. So yeah, we had to. Okay,
- 30:45Speaker 1: my last question, do you have any like post wedding,
- 30:49Speaker 1: post honeymoon depression about it all being over? Yeah? I do, Um,
- 30:54Speaker 1: I do. I it would be great if we could
- 30:56Speaker 1: have that all the time. And I want people that
- 30:59Speaker 1: came there to who our wedding to know just how
- 31:02Speaker 1: much it meant to us. And we talked about it
- 31:04Speaker 1: still every night, and it's weird that it's over because
- 31:07Speaker 1: there's so much prep and planning going on. Yeah, I
- 31:09Speaker 1: would say I didn't think I would. I was really
- 31:14Speaker 1: thinking that, like I wanted to Jessica to have the
- 31:17Speaker 1: most beautiful wedding of her life, but I ended up
- 31:19Speaker 1: having some of the most fun of my life. And
- 31:21Speaker 1: so yeah, I'm sad that that night is over. Yeah,
- 31:25Speaker 1: well yeah I am when I say that, Like you
- 31:28Speaker 1: live through memories, like you really do. Like sometimes I
- 31:32Speaker 1: can just like almost feel like I'm there again, and
- 31:34Speaker 1: you'll look at pictures and videos and all that. Obviously
- 31:37Speaker 1: it's not the same, but it's not the same. It's
- 31:41Speaker 1: one of the most vivid memories you'll ever have. I
- 31:44Speaker 1: would I would, I would have to say it is
- 31:47Speaker 1: at this point it always will be. But then even
- 31:49Speaker 1: this ash um and we can close up here because
- 31:52Speaker 1: we talked a lot about me and Jesse and I. Um,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you know, we just decorated our Christmas tree when Christmas.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I didn't want to talk about that. Yeah, for the
- 32:00Speaker 1: for our first one ever. We never did it when
- 32:02Speaker 1: we were dating, um, because we weren't in the same place.
- 32:05Speaker 1: So we went down. We got to permit. State of
- 32:07Speaker 1: Colorado gives these permits out to go into like over
- 32:11Speaker 1: uh you know, tree populated areas and cut down a
- 32:14Speaker 1: tree because it helps deforestation and it helps wildfires. So
- 32:17Speaker 1: we did that. We've got really over zealous. We picked
- 32:21Speaker 1: a massive tree that I'm looking at right now, um
- 32:24Speaker 1: on not on purpose, just because it was beautiful. And
- 32:26Speaker 1: then we've decorated the last two nights and I put
- 32:28Speaker 1: Christmas lights out around our house. Um. I've never done
- 32:32Speaker 1: that in my life, and so you know, I'm feeling
- 32:36Speaker 1: very married. Well, that's like such a nice, cool time
- 32:39Speaker 1: to get married, such a cozy time of year. It is,
- 32:42Speaker 1: it is, But there is one story that I'd like
- 32:45Speaker 1: to share that nobody knows yet. I'm currently struggling with it.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Um And yeah, and if any um people listening have
- 32:54Speaker 1: ever done this and I have any advice for me,
- 32:57Speaker 1: please write us, um, it would mean a lot. On
- 33:01Speaker 1: our honeymoon, we were snorkeling one day and I got
- 33:04Speaker 1: caught in a shallow area and stepped on a sea urchin.
- 33:08Speaker 1: And it is in my foot still. I wish I
- 33:11Speaker 1: could show you it. Um. There's like probably ten different
- 33:15Speaker 1: spikes in my big toe and in my foot and
- 33:18Speaker 1: it's getting really swollen. And I can't tell if they're
- 33:22Speaker 1: like pushing out and like trying to leave my body
- 33:25Speaker 1: or if they're just getting like infected. But they hurt
- 33:29Speaker 1: like the dickens, and um, I need advice on how
- 33:33Speaker 1: to get them out. They don't even look like splinters
- 33:37Speaker 1: or anything like. They look like you have a little
- 33:39Speaker 1: bit maybe a little bruising. Yeah, it's like bruising, and
- 33:42Speaker 1: but you can see dots where like you can see
- 33:45Speaker 1: where where they're at. But it's like so sworn around there,
- 33:48Speaker 1: so that didn't ruin our trip, but it definitely didn't
- 33:50Speaker 1: help the hiking, which we really wanted to do, and
- 33:53Speaker 1: like all of that stuff, we fought through it. Um.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But yeah, if anybody has any advice on what you
- 33:59Speaker 1: can do, that would be really helpful. I mean, should
- 34:01Speaker 1: you get the doctor, I don't know, Well that could
- 34:04Speaker 1: be good at it would be nice. Maybe that's the
- 34:12Speaker 1: advice we'll get. We'll go to the doctor. Well. Hey, Um,
- 34:15Speaker 1: pictures will be posted to the wedding. Um, they're not
- 34:18Speaker 1: done yet, obviously, they're they're getting edited all that stuff.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'll start posting on social media, so for anybody watching,
- 34:23Speaker 1: we'll share some with the almost famous family. Uh, it's
- 34:27Speaker 1: been super fun leading up to this wedding. We're now married.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Jessica and I are very happy and we're very excited
- 34:33Speaker 1: to be back. I've missed the podcast. I don't like
- 34:36Speaker 1: getting on Instagram and seeing new faces. I mean, it's
- 34:39Speaker 1: been a lot of new faces. I've been gone a
- 34:41Speaker 1: lot and so um, we're back better than ever. Um.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Ready to break down this week's episode of the Bachelorette.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Right after take a break, We're here with episodes seven
- 35:02Speaker 1: of Michelle's season of the Bachelorette. We are down to hometowns,
- 35:07Speaker 1: which we say every year, but a little interesting nugget,
- 35:10Speaker 1: just for those who haven't been listening, When you get
- 35:12Speaker 1: to hometowns, you're actually halfway through the recording of the season,
- 35:16Speaker 1: and so the final four actually get a lot of
- 35:20Speaker 1: time a month a month with the lead, where before
- 35:24Speaker 1: you know you're filtering through. So for us, we're like
- 35:26Speaker 1: this episode seven, it feels like it's moving so fast.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Well now it slows down when you're within it, and
- 35:31Speaker 1: so you see relationships really start to get stronger after hometowns.
- 35:36Speaker 1: There's a reason why you're spending a few days a
- 35:39Speaker 1: week with them. You're going to a bunch of dates
- 35:40Speaker 1: with all these people. But we're down the hometowns, and
- 35:43Speaker 1: Michelle kicks it off with actually take it away, brand
- 35:48Speaker 1: it Brandon's hometown. Um, he wants to bring Portland to Michelle.
- 35:55Speaker 1: He's just lived there his whole life, twenty seven years,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and she he takes her to a skateboard rink, wants
- 36:03Speaker 1: to get her out of her comfort zone. Um, he
- 36:06Speaker 1: loves skateboarding. It's there's like nothing to say about it.
- 36:09Speaker 1: It's cute, it's fun, but the important part is that
- 36:13Speaker 1: she gets to meet his family later on that night,
- 36:16Speaker 1: and she meets his brother, who ends up delaying his
- 36:22Speaker 1: his like deployment with the Navy, just to meet Michelle,
- 36:26Speaker 1: and then his mom and his dad. And keep in
- 36:32Speaker 1: mind that Michelle did meet that that Brandon did get
- 36:36Speaker 1: to meet Michelle's parents last week, and she said she
- 36:39Speaker 1: he passed that test with flying color, so she was
- 36:42Speaker 1: kind of nervous about doing the same with his family.
- 36:47Speaker 1: There wasn't like a ton of depth to the conversations.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I'd say that, Um, Michelle loved the fact that she's
- 36:54Speaker 1: gonna take on his dad in basketball. It was fun
- 36:58Speaker 1: to be able to talk about something lighthearted like that.
- 37:00Speaker 1: And then Brandon said to his mom that Michelle is
- 37:04Speaker 1: one of the strongest women he's ever met. Um. So
- 37:10Speaker 1: like anything that, anything that stood out to you here,
- 37:14Speaker 1: I mean I think we stood out to me was
- 37:17Speaker 1: and maybe it was just me, um, and you can
- 37:19Speaker 1: disagree with me. I saw a new side of Brandon
- 37:22Speaker 1: during this day, Like he felt a lot more relaxed,
- 37:25Speaker 1: a lot less let's say, polished, like he was he
- 37:29Speaker 1: was maybe just even how he was articulating himself, like
- 37:32Speaker 1: he was just joking around he wasn't, you know, fumbling
- 37:36Speaker 1: for words. He was just kind of having a good
- 37:39Speaker 1: time with her. And I did see that change. Outside
- 37:43Speaker 1: of that and his comfortability with her. Um No, I
- 37:48Speaker 1: don't think there was anything mind boggling. I don't think
- 37:51Speaker 1: there's anything that stood out. I do think if I
- 37:54Speaker 1: was to rank her connection with the parents, this would
- 37:59Speaker 1: be probably the second best connection with the parents out
- 38:03Speaker 1: of any of them. Um I felt like it wasn't bad,
- 38:08Speaker 1: it wasn't good, But I do feel like the parents
- 38:10Speaker 1: during this this segment or this episode of this year,
- 38:14Speaker 1: we're just a lot more hesitant than most years. Like
- 38:17Speaker 1: you didn't have your bachelor's super fan like parents that
- 38:22Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, I'm so nervous. Like all
- 38:24Speaker 1: the parents felt comfortable, I mean, just to be themselves
- 38:29Speaker 1: and they weren't pushing anything too hard, and they were
- 38:31Speaker 1: mostly worried about their sons. They were all kind of
- 38:35Speaker 1: even killed. They all kind of blend in together. I'm
- 38:38Speaker 1: gonna be honest, because nobody really made a big stink.
- 38:43Speaker 1: There is no one when you're where you were like,
- 38:45Speaker 1: oh man, I don't want that to be my mother
- 38:47Speaker 1: in law or father in law or anything like that
- 38:49Speaker 1: nobody overly intimidating. The biggest standout comment or conversation was
- 38:55Speaker 1: probably Nate's dad, stepdad, saying that he was probably not
- 39:02Speaker 1: ready for an engagement, but we'll get that, We'll get
- 39:04Speaker 1: down there. There's a lot there in that meeting between
- 39:09Speaker 1: the two of them to talk about. Most most things
- 39:12Speaker 1: to say about this episode, I think fall into that
- 39:14Speaker 1: last fourth definitely. Yeah. So up next we had Rodney's
- 39:18Speaker 1: hometown date. Uh. Rodney is somebody that it feels like
- 39:22Speaker 1: a lot of people in America fall in love with.
- 39:24Speaker 1: It's obvious why he's He's been very nice, very charming,
- 39:28Speaker 1: very sweet. He's felt like the underdog all season, even
- 39:31Speaker 1: though none of us here believed he was. Ashley, though,
- 39:35Speaker 1: when it comes to his hometown date, as we let
- 39:38Speaker 1: her find out, it just didn't hit And why do
- 39:39Speaker 1: you believe that? I think it was just that romantic
- 39:44Speaker 1: connection not necessarily being there. Fully, she definitely liked him
- 39:49Speaker 1: as a best friend, definitely like laughing with him. She
- 39:51Speaker 1: brought that up on multiple occasions, But I just feel
- 39:54Speaker 1: like the romance wasn't necessarily there for her. And it
- 39:56Speaker 1: was really funny because this is one of those time
- 40:00Speaker 1: rare times where like I actually think that that last
- 40:04Speaker 1: scene behind the credits was very telling and it wasn't
- 40:10Speaker 1: just a joking scene. It was written all over her
- 40:13Speaker 1: face to me that she was over it. When he
- 40:16Speaker 1: couldn't get the lines down for their little chef show,
- 40:21Speaker 1: their food their food show, you can see like frustration
- 40:24Speaker 1: where I think that if you really were into the person,
- 40:28Speaker 1: you'd be cracking up alongside with them. But she was
- 40:30Speaker 1: like no, like I want to get this done. Yeah,
- 40:33Speaker 1: there was like she was like irritated, and I trust me,
- 40:37Speaker 1: Jess gets irritated with me. But and Jared has had moments,
- 40:41Speaker 1: oh me recording an insto story an ad on Instagram?
- 40:46Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? He's like, you have done that
- 40:49Speaker 1: fifteen times. It's not cute anymore. But at this stage
- 40:53Speaker 1: in the relationship probably should maybe still be cute. It
- 40:56Speaker 1: definitely should be. I do think it was telling. You're right,
- 41:01Speaker 1: the romantic connection just wasn't there. However, I do believe
- 41:04Speaker 1: Rodney still belonged in the top four. I do believe
- 41:09Speaker 1: that he made progress. Michelle and Rodney made progress in
- 41:14Speaker 1: their relationship. Um, she felt very excited to see him.
- 41:19Speaker 1: But it is interesting, like during your hometown dates, you
- 41:25Speaker 1: have to start asking yourself that question of like who
- 41:29Speaker 1: could I possibly get engaged to? Or who do I
- 41:31Speaker 1: want to leave this whole thing with? Might be the
- 41:33Speaker 1: better way to say that. And when you start asking
- 41:35Speaker 1: yourself those questions in the midst of these dates, there's
- 41:38Speaker 1: a there is a little bit more of a heaviness
- 41:41Speaker 1: to it. And maybe when she started asking that, sitting
- 41:43Speaker 1: across from Rodney, She's just like, no, but this isn't it,
- 41:46Speaker 1: Like this isn't my guy. Um, And maybe she felt
- 41:49Speaker 1: that that way about somebody else here. But for Rodney
- 41:52Speaker 1: it was enough for him to end up going home.
- 41:55Speaker 1: But his hometown date was fine. It was fun. Um.
- 41:59Speaker 1: I think that, you know, Rodney is such a lovable,
- 42:04Speaker 1: warm character. I don't know exactly where that came from,
- 42:08Speaker 1: because I expected his family to be very like loud
- 42:11Speaker 1: and boisterous and like huggy and loving. I didn't felt
- 42:14Speaker 1: like that as much, but um, but it was. It
- 42:19Speaker 1: was another kind of fine hometown date, and it nothing
- 42:21Speaker 1: stood out to me. Nope, I agree, all right, So
- 42:25Speaker 1: let's move on to Joe's, which I feel like I
- 42:27Speaker 1: have a little bit more to say, just because there
- 42:30Speaker 1: was just such a lack of conversation. It was silly.
- 42:35Speaker 1: The producers must have been like, if that's what the
- 42:37Speaker 1: producers were able to get out of them, they must
- 42:40Speaker 1: have been struggle buzzing for a couple hours that they
- 42:44Speaker 1: were sitting down there just because the guys in the
- 42:47Speaker 1: family seemed so shy, well, or do you just think
- 42:49Speaker 1: it was lack of interest confusion, Like where do you
- 42:51Speaker 1: think that was coming from? No, I think with Joe's family,
- 42:57Speaker 1: it was shyness, like Joe even sad, like you'll hit
- 43:00Speaker 1: it off with Hannah, and Hannah was definitely needed. That's
- 43:03Speaker 1: the sister in law. It was definitely needed there for
- 43:05Speaker 1: commentary reasons because the brother and the dad just had
- 43:11Speaker 1: nothing to contribute. And I don't think that that was
- 43:14Speaker 1: in a and I don't care about this type of way.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I think it was really like, oh my gosh, there
- 43:19Speaker 1: are so many cameras and lights and frozen and plus
- 43:22Speaker 1: I'm talking about emotions and my son's romantic life. This
- 43:27Speaker 1: is like all but out of my comfort zone. Isn't
- 43:30Speaker 1: this the day? Isn't Joe and his dad when he
- 43:33Speaker 1: asked his dad, dad, do you have anything else? Yeah?
- 43:35Speaker 1: And he's like nope, he was like, no, you have
- 43:39Speaker 1: to have more questions. He goes, yeah, no, I have questions,
- 43:45Speaker 1: but I'm not asking them here. And you've never I
- 43:47Speaker 1: don't think you've ever met somebody so not nervous about
- 43:50Speaker 1: like how they're gonna look like. He wasn't mean. It
- 43:53Speaker 1: wasn't like he's going to con as like a villain
- 43:55Speaker 1: or like the parent that like ends up starting a
- 43:58Speaker 1: podcast afterwards because they make a name for themselves. He
- 44:01Speaker 1: just was like, I'm good, Like I'm fine here, like
- 44:05Speaker 1: I showed up. That's all I need to do. I've
- 44:08Speaker 1: said hi to you, I love your son, But is
- 44:11Speaker 1: it totally all right? Well, to reverse the timeline, they
- 44:16Speaker 1: also end up going to prom on this date. There's
- 44:19Speaker 1: like a lot of prom themes going on lately, I
- 44:21Speaker 1: feel like, but this one was kind of cute because
- 44:24Speaker 1: they are from the same city and Joe never went
- 44:27Speaker 1: to prom, and he remembered from the letter that Michelle
- 44:32Speaker 1: shared or the poem whatever it was, that she she
- 44:35Speaker 1: was picked last or prom, which that's just you know,
- 44:39Speaker 1: mind blowing um. But that was cute. That was a
- 44:42Speaker 1: cute little thing to do. And what does that mean.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I didn't really think about I thought that was a
- 44:50Speaker 1: little bit weird. It sounds like she made it a sport,
- 44:54Speaker 1: but really it just means that, like I guess, a
- 44:57Speaker 1: lot of people were being asked and then it was
- 45:00Speaker 1: that got down to, oh, there's only a few more
- 45:02Speaker 1: girls left to ask, I'll ask her. Okay, that makes sense,
- 45:08Speaker 1: but yeah it does. I mean that's yeah, maybe I'm
- 45:10Speaker 1: confused because shocking that Michelle wouldn't be asked to prom.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And then also, you know, I don't remember like the
- 45:17Speaker 1: timeline of prom, but I never remember who was pick
- 45:21Speaker 1: last or first, or I just thought people asked each
- 45:23Speaker 1: other and then you show up to this big room
- 45:25Speaker 1: and everybody's there. I am m Ashley. There's an infatuation
- 45:29Speaker 1: right now that The Bachelor has and The Bachelor it
- 45:34Speaker 1: has food tasting, well know with high school in high school. Yeah,
- 45:38Speaker 1: and like high school is a great time, uh huge
- 45:42Speaker 1: impact in our lives, but it is that big of
- 45:48Speaker 1: a deal to where like I mean, every we've seen
- 45:52Speaker 1: it multiple times now, the prom, the high school thing,
- 45:54Speaker 1: like you know, Joe's walking around being that's where I
- 45:56Speaker 1: went to biology at and stuff. It's like that's cool,
- 45:59Speaker 1: but high school like legit, So glad you said this
- 46:04Speaker 1: because it is always fun to go back to your
- 46:07Speaker 1: high school and reminisce and like look through the window, like,
- 46:10Speaker 1: oh my god, that my classroom looks so much different now.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I can't believe what they've done. And the smell of
- 46:15Speaker 1: the hallways and all that stuff. But it's only cool
- 46:19Speaker 1: and nostalgic for you that your spouse doesn't give a crap.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Like I took Jared to my high school during COVID
- 46:26Speaker 1: because he wanted to run around the track, and I'm
- 46:30Speaker 1: thinking and reminiscing and this is where I did that,
- 46:33Speaker 1: and that's where that. It's like cool, sweet, nice, and
- 46:37Speaker 1: he does the kind of the same thing with me.
- 46:39Speaker 1: But it's just like you're never going to understand what
- 46:42Speaker 1: it feels like for like person, be a weird date,
- 46:45Speaker 1: like it's just an odd day. I took Jessica to
- 46:47Speaker 1: my old office up here in Colorado a couple of
- 46:51Speaker 1: weeks ago. Was so excited. We drove over and it's
- 46:54Speaker 1: it's it's empty right now. The office is empty. So
- 46:56Speaker 1: we're looking through the windows and I was like, that's
- 46:57Speaker 1: where I did that, and that's that in that was
- 47:00Speaker 1: you know, Tyson's old desk, and there's Adam's old desk
- 47:03Speaker 1: and Dylan's old desk, and I could tell She's just like,
- 47:06Speaker 1: that's awesome. I have node. Yeah, I have no clue
- 47:09Speaker 1: what that means, Like that's that sounds great, being good job.
- 47:24Speaker 1: But Joe's date did. I did feel like, for whatever reason,
- 47:29Speaker 1: I could tell during that day that Joe and Michelle
- 47:31Speaker 1: have something special. Um she even in the words that
- 47:35Speaker 1: she used to explain him to her, to his family,
- 47:39Speaker 1: I can tell that Joe at that moment, I was
- 47:41Speaker 1: gonna it was gonna be a shocking exit if he
- 47:43Speaker 1: was released on this episode. I just didn't see it
- 47:46Speaker 1: happening because I felt like they do have something good going.
- 47:49Speaker 1: There's a lot of depth there, and it feels like
- 47:52Speaker 1: even kind of based on their history of chatting a
- 47:55Speaker 1: little bit, there obviously is a lot of intrigue still,
- 47:58Speaker 1: But that's how I'm going to describe their relationship is
- 48:01Speaker 1: it's still at a level of intrigue that it's not
- 48:04Speaker 1: quite to where I feel like in two weeks we're
- 48:06Speaker 1: gonna watch them get engaged. They might leave this thing together,
- 48:10Speaker 1: which should be awesome, but I still think it's a
- 48:13Speaker 1: lot of curiosity and not as much the love and
- 48:17Speaker 1: the connection that sometimes we see on hometowns for our
- 48:21Speaker 1: couples that were like, oh, this is it. But that's
- 48:24Speaker 1: kind of what how I feel about all of these guys.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Like she keeps talking about how her connection to them,
- 48:33Speaker 1: she like wishes that she had one connection, but now
- 48:35Speaker 1: she's blessed with four, And I'm like, yeah, you might
- 48:39Speaker 1: have four connections, but like, do you have like four
- 48:41Speaker 1: people you can imagine yourself being engaged to let alone one?
- 48:45Speaker 1: I mean she says, yes, I don't feel it through
- 48:49Speaker 1: the TV, but then again it's just through the TV.
- 48:52Speaker 1: So yeah. I mean if I would say right now,
- 48:54Speaker 1: which guys are most into her, I would say name Brandon.
- 48:58Speaker 1: I would say Nathan Brandon, but you would say brand
- 49:00Speaker 1: in the Nate, right, I'd say Brandon and then Nate.
- 49:04Speaker 1: So I think that I think I think Nate is
- 49:08Speaker 1: into her, and I think she's into him, but he
- 49:11Speaker 1: also is like the one that I would worry the
- 49:14Speaker 1: most about it lasting long term with I get that, well, yeah, mostly,
- 49:19Speaker 1: and we can jump into it now it's Nate's hometown day.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I mean that's where this that's where that you know
- 49:24Speaker 1: comes from, where you worried about it lasting long time,
- 49:27Speaker 1: any amount of time with because his family is nervous
- 49:30Speaker 1: about the same thing that they don't know if Nate
- 49:32Speaker 1: is ready. But Nate starts to stay out by wanting
- 49:36Speaker 1: to bring a piece of Austin to Minnesota, and so
- 49:39Speaker 1: they paddle board like they would uh in Austin. It's
- 49:43Speaker 1: a very popular thing there that they, you know, kind
- 49:45Speaker 1: of had a little picnic like they would Zaker Park.
- 49:49Speaker 1: When Michelle, during this little picnic time, starts asking Nate,
- 49:53Speaker 1: who am I meeting and what's it gonna be? Like,
- 49:56Speaker 1: you can tell that the emotional com open this of
- 50:01Speaker 1: Nate in this family is not there. That's not even
- 50:05Speaker 1: a bad thing. They just don't have that type of relationship.
- 50:07Speaker 1: But you can tell it then, And that's like, okay,
- 50:11Speaker 1: because there's lots of families like that. I don't I
- 50:14Speaker 1: don't come from a family like that. I can't imagine
- 50:17Speaker 1: having not said I love you and not talking about
- 50:19Speaker 1: emotions and like difficulties and all that. But it still
- 50:24Speaker 1: seems like they're close despite that. That was that was
- 50:28Speaker 1: the vibe that I got. So just this date, I
- 50:33Speaker 1: just felt like it was really productive for him. I
- 50:35Speaker 1: think she kind of said the same thing like even
- 50:37Speaker 1: if they don't end up together, this was like a
- 50:41Speaker 1: moment that is so important that he had that he
- 50:44Speaker 1: had in his life to be able to say I
- 50:46Speaker 1: love you to his stepdad for the first time. Did
- 50:51Speaker 1: his dad say it back? They didn't show it, but
- 50:55Speaker 1: he said that he did, so I guess, um, yeah, yeah,
- 51:03Speaker 1: And I think that he was most emotional about the
- 51:06Speaker 1: family dynamic as well throughout the night and less and
- 51:09Speaker 1: it was like Michelle was a side note, which again
- 51:11Speaker 1: I think is totally okay in this situation. Yeah, it's
- 51:14Speaker 1: a lot for your family to go into. Uh and
- 51:16Speaker 1: when there are you know, when you're being asked to
- 51:19Speaker 1: sit your family down and tell him about stuff that
- 51:20Speaker 1: you've never talked to him before. In this environment with cameras,
- 51:25Speaker 1: with people, I could see where Nate's mind would go.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I have to work on this stuff and that, like
- 51:33Speaker 1: in order to get to a place where they even
- 51:35Speaker 1: can get to know Michelle and no Michelle and eyes relationship. Yeah,
- 51:39Speaker 1: but Michelle definitely left this date with worries concerns about
- 51:44Speaker 1: his readiness. Yeah, well, mostly because his family told her
- 51:49Speaker 1: straight up. Yeah, but you should be worried about this, Like,
- 51:52Speaker 1: I don't know if he's ready now, it's not necessarily
- 51:55Speaker 1: relationship thing. Just because he's never had a relationship and
- 51:58Speaker 1: brought a girl home before. I don't think it's a
- 52:00Speaker 1: red flag. She said that. She said that's a red flag,
- 52:02Speaker 1: but like it's that's debatable. Did Jess ever have a
- 52:07Speaker 1: serious relationship before you? Yeah, I didn't think so, I'm not,
- 52:10Speaker 1: like you, not a real serious one. I think her
- 52:12Speaker 1: parents had met a few of the people, but like
- 52:16Speaker 1: she was known, and she always will say like she
- 52:17Speaker 1: was the one day wonder, like she went on one
- 52:20Speaker 1: day and was done, and so no, she didn't. Um, Yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 1: but that wasn't a red flag because like you knew
- 52:25Speaker 1: because she knew herself so well and her family, like
- 52:29Speaker 1: she was so comfortable with intimacy and all that. Yeah, definitely,
- 52:34Speaker 1: it wasn't a red flag. I mean there was things
- 52:36Speaker 1: like even when her dating, she just didn't know like
- 52:38Speaker 1: how to progress in the dating world, which like that
- 52:41Speaker 1: I was like, so what's the next step? So then
- 52:44Speaker 1: like your boyfriend and girlfriend and it's like what do
- 52:46Speaker 1: you do? How do you do? How do you find
- 52:49Speaker 1: things to talk about? That's the real thing. Yeah, it
- 52:55Speaker 1: comes naturally, even though you have no idea that it's
- 52:58Speaker 1: going to come naturally. No, So I don't think that's
- 53:00Speaker 1: where it's like. I think from all of this, I
- 53:02Speaker 1: am most nervous about Nate because of it felt like
- 53:07Speaker 1: his family trying to say it without fully saying it
- 53:10Speaker 1: as a long term relationship. We don't know if he's ready,
- 53:15Speaker 1: not because he hasn't had one, but because of just
- 53:19Speaker 1: who he is right now in his life. We don't
- 53:21Speaker 1: know if he's ready. And uh, and that was what
- 53:25Speaker 1: worried me most. Yeah, all right, well we'll see. They
- 53:32Speaker 1: definitely built it up as if he was going to
- 53:34Speaker 1: be on the chopping block, but that is not what happened.
- 53:37Speaker 1: He got called second, He got called second um, which
- 53:42Speaker 1: I don't put too much weight into, uh, but ended
- 53:45Speaker 1: up Rodney's going home. And Rodney was sent home in
- 53:48Speaker 1: an emotional exit, one that felt like he was upset
- 53:52Speaker 1: and he was hurt. He cared a lot about Michelle.
- 53:54Speaker 1: This had to be a great experience for him. As
- 53:56Speaker 1: we said a month ago, well, our hope was that
- 54:00Speaker 1: he would realize he's not the underdog and that he
- 54:03Speaker 1: would get some confidence from this thing, because I do
- 54:05Speaker 1: believe he felt that way, and that he would grow
- 54:08Speaker 1: and we'd watch it on television. I think we did.
- 54:10Speaker 1: I think we saw Rodney grow into a very confident
- 54:13Speaker 1: which he should be person from the time that he
- 54:16Speaker 1: admitted that he didn't feel like he belonged there to
- 54:18Speaker 1: the time he got released. Yeah, yeah, he should. Definitely,
- 54:23Speaker 1: he's gonna be one of those people that leaves the
- 54:25Speaker 1: show building confidence and that's gonna help him in his
- 54:29Speaker 1: dating life. Yeah, he's We're gonna see him thrive and
- 54:32Speaker 1: at least we hope so. So the sneak peak the
- 54:36Speaker 1: Mental All is next. Um, we got to see some
- 54:41Speaker 1: guys who caused some controversy during the season come back
- 54:45Speaker 1: to the Mental All. The Bachelor is returning with Clayton.
- 54:51Speaker 1: We get a little preview. Have they announced this yet though?
- 54:54Speaker 1: Outside of this No, I mean yes, maybe, I have
- 54:58Speaker 1: no idea. I have not seen official announcement that Clayton
- 55:02Speaker 1: is the Bachelor. I mean, I don't know if they're
- 55:04Speaker 1: just not going to or what, but I haven't seen
- 55:06Speaker 1: it yet. He still looks super undynamic during his season,
- 55:10Speaker 1: but I do have faith that the girls will carry it.
- 55:12Speaker 1: We got we got some inside information that this season
- 55:15Speaker 1: is really good. Yes, I don't know if it's ever
- 55:18Speaker 1: going to be said, not that it's not good, but
- 55:21Speaker 1: we do hear that it's good. I don't think I
- 55:24Speaker 1: mean from fan of fair I don't think people are thrilled.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I don't think it's because Clayton is a bad dude.
- 55:29Speaker 1: I don't think it's because, Um, I'm not going to
- 55:32Speaker 1: really enjoy talking about this podcast. But it's just because
- 55:35Speaker 1: I don't think he shined in a captivating way during
- 55:40Speaker 1: his time on the Bachelorette, Like he didn't have his
- 55:42Speaker 1: one moment, even his one bachelor. They tried with his,
- 55:46Speaker 1: They tried, they tried, and it still didn't feel genuine
- 55:51Speaker 1: to me because I knew that they had to do it. Yeah,
- 55:54Speaker 1: it means. I even got a d M from somebody
- 55:58Speaker 1: who's a listener of the podcast and said, do you
- 56:01Speaker 1: think that possibly they recorded that segment after they named
- 56:06Speaker 1: him the Bachelor? Maybe, I mean they had to go
- 56:11Speaker 1: they had to really really fight for this one because
- 56:15Speaker 1: his he just didn't have his one moment where other
- 56:17Speaker 1: guys did this season, they had their one moment that
- 56:19Speaker 1: would stand out. He didn't have it. And uh, and
- 56:22Speaker 1: I think the fans are confused at how he was chosen.
- 56:26Speaker 1: So easily, but we're gonna wait and watch. I'm just
- 56:29Speaker 1: hoping it's a good season. The Bachelor needs a good season. Uh,
- 56:33Speaker 1: it needs a captivating season. It needs one that we
- 56:36Speaker 1: can get into. I'm hoping it's it. We're gonna hold
- 56:39Speaker 1: our breath um for that because we we hope for it.
- 56:43Speaker 1: But that is this week's episode. Next week, we're down
- 56:47Speaker 1: to the final three of Michelle's season. It's Nate, It's Brandon,
- 56:52Speaker 1: and it's Joe. Three people that are not shocking to
- 56:55Speaker 1: us that are still around. Uh, it was fairly expected,
- 57:00Speaker 1: but now it gets really interesting because I don't know
- 57:02Speaker 1: if I could rank them, But if you had to, Ashley,
- 57:05Speaker 1: what is your ranking of the person that you believe
- 57:07Speaker 1: will win this thing and be with Michelle in the end.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Do you know what's so weird? I have changed my ranking.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Brandon is number one to me now she's most in
- 57:20Speaker 1: all with him, and I think he's most in all
- 57:23Speaker 1: with her, And then I think Nate is second, and
- 57:29Speaker 1: then Joe is third. And I thought that based on
- 57:32Speaker 1: last week, Joe may have been more like a second
- 57:36Speaker 1: about you. I would go I'd still go Joe, then
- 57:40Speaker 1: I go Brandon, and I'll go to Nate. I thought
- 57:43Speaker 1: Nate's hometown. So what's the rank Brandon? Then sorry, Joe
- 57:50Speaker 1: number one? Okay? Really, so my number three and you're
- 57:53Speaker 1: number one? Yeah, okay. I just feel like there's something
- 57:57Speaker 1: really strong there. I don't know if it's like perfected
- 58:01Speaker 1: and that we can I just feel like there's something
- 58:03Speaker 1: really strong there. And I think they both want each other,
- 58:06Speaker 1: which I think helps. I don't get that feeling as
- 58:09Speaker 1: much for the other guys. So then Brandon number two
- 58:11Speaker 1: and Nate number three. So it's Joe, Brandon Nate for me. Okay,
- 58:15Speaker 1: we'll see how it goes. And like I told the
- 58:17Speaker 1: audience last week, we are unspoiled, and it is fun
- 58:20Speaker 1: to be unspoiled. I haven't been spoiled in a long time, exactly.
- 58:25Speaker 1: This is a couple of seasons in a row now
- 58:26Speaker 1: and it's really nice. Well, alright, let's take a break.
- 58:30Speaker 1: We come back. What Bachelor headlines, and there are a
- 58:33Speaker 1: lot of them this week. First headline of this week
- 58:46Speaker 1: with our resident expert, Ashley I Kennetti, like Moyne's gives
- 58:50Speaker 1: super honest answer about whether he'd be the Bachelor Disaccording
- 58:55Speaker 1: to US Weekly, I don't believe his answer for Race
- 58:58Speaker 1: and Nidget. When asked about being the Bachelor, he said no.
- 59:06Speaker 1: He said, I am in no way prepared to go
- 59:09Speaker 1: through meeting thirty women, especially after all of that. Referring
- 59:15Speaker 1: to what he has just been through with Katie, he goes,
- 59:17Speaker 1: my ego is hurt right now. I feel like an
- 59:20Speaker 1: idiot with how things played out. When you're so sure
- 59:23Speaker 1: about something and you feel like you've found your rock
- 59:26Speaker 1: and all of a sudden to be able to turn
- 59:29Speaker 1: that rock and try to find another one within a
- 59:33Speaker 1: time frame that we have on The Bachelorette, No. He
- 59:37Speaker 1: also a source also tells US Weekly that he was
- 59:41Speaker 1: blindsided to find out that Katie had already moved on
- 59:46Speaker 1: to another relationship, which we will talk about in a minute,
- 59:49Speaker 1: with this guy John John Hersey. Now, okay, so we're
- 59:55Speaker 1: getting a little detail now this this interview when Blake
- 59:58Speaker 1: said no, he would not be um The Bachelor was
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: recorded or at least released on November, so this was
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: obviously once Katie had kind of put the stuff with
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: John out there. It's making me feel like, especially reading
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: these quotes from Blake, that he he was the one
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: broken up with do you feel like this was a
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: mutual breakup now, because I think like, if you were
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to ask me in October, I was like, yeah, sure.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: But now, I mean, there's so much speculation as to
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: what's going on. There were pictures of Blake and Katie
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: in the back of an airplane, a little prop plane
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that John was flying with another girl, like they were
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: on a double date together, and then all of a sudden,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: thanks switch. Yeah, I'm not accusing Katie at all of cheating.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: And we do have a headline about this in a
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: little bit. That's where I'm gonna jump to is right now.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: This this goes into his next headline. Blake Moyne's mom
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: is out here liking Instagram comments about Katie Thurston's alleged deception.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: This according to Cosmos, So this is the headline that
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Blake Moyne's mom is liking Instagram comments about Katie Thurston's
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: alleged deception. First off, I'm not a fan of that, Like,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that's not okay, but that is the headline and it
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: is happening, okay. So this is one of the the
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: comments that she liked. Nah, this is terrible on Katie's part.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I truly feel sorry for Blake. In any relationship, you
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: put a sense of trust in one another, especially in
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: long distance relationships, there's no denying the dishonesty and deception
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: for months upon months. And I think this fan is
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: saying this because Katie was so open about her friendship
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: with John and how much she was hanging out with him. Um.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: They also both unfollowed each other again, sources saying that
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Blake felt um blindsided. Um, yeah, so I the deception
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: part is probably that Katie had a relationship with John
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: that was like deeper and less friendly perhaps or was
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: evolving into something that was less friendly while being with Blake,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: because the timeline between the announcement of their breakup and
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: the announcement of this relationship was so short. And hey,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: we've talked about it before, Ashley, how soon is too
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: soon to move on? There's no good answer to that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: There is no good answer to that. I would say,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: what is like, you know, usually happens is a few months,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: a few weeks, whatever. But at the same time, if
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: this John guy and Katie end up in love and
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: get married, then like, yeah, unfortunate for Blake, But is
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: it wrong as long as there wasn't cheating going on
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: and my point of view, no, it would be okay
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: as long as it wasn't cheating. Cheating, Yeah, as long
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: as there wasn't cheating, as long as they were actually
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: truly strictly friends until until that breakup. That breakup happened,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: and that could be possible, it could be. Well, it's
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: a messy situation, obviously, batter Nation breakups are never fun. Uh.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: And Katie, you know, has kind of uh been all
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: over the place, uh with this whole thing and then
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: posting about with the Taylor Swift stuff. So the Taylor
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Swift stuff. Should I break that down a little bit? Yeah,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: go ahead, because it brings attention to kind of her
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: strategy as this breakups happened. It definitely didn't go with
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: you know, when I had my breakup, the strategy was
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna stay quiet. We're both gonna stay quiet, right. Um.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: You know, she moved on fast, um or fast. I
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: guess she moved on fast and than I did, and
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: that hurts, but you know, you can't be mad about it,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Like it just happens, like you find somebody else and
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: you try your best to move on. But we stayed
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: quiet because I thought that was like the best thing.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Katie hasn't gone with that strategy good, bad, or and different.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: So Katie did this thing that we did talk about
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: last week, but I didn't have a great grasp on
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: it because she wasn't saving these stories to her like bio,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: if you know what I mean. Like, so, once they
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: were done, they were done, so I didn't see them
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: all in consecutive order, but now I have. So she
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: has this thing called twelve Days of Messy and uh.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: She basically used a different song from Taylor Swiop's Red
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: album two in a way dedicate to different guys, most
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: of them public x is. I think they might all
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: be public excess. So the first day was Day one.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: It was Blake and the song was we are Never
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: getting back Together. Okay, that's pretty blatantly obvious what she
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: was trying to say. There feels hard. Yeah, that is
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: that sounds harsh, as if like he did something wrong right,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: and maybe he did, we don't know, but yeah, if
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: definitely feels that way, like it doesn't feel like kind Yeah, okay,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: So the number two is Andrew. She's referring to Andrew
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: from her season and the song is run and the
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: basically I don't know not. This is a new one,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: so I'm not exactly sure lyrically what it what it is,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: but I do believe that's like if you were to
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: like call me back right now, like I would go
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: for it. You know, we can do this all over again.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: And then she posted a picture along with it with
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: the note that she gave to Andrew saying, if you
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: change your mind, I'll be waiting. Oh that was what
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Andrew gave to her on his which time? Does that
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: feel weird considering she's at this point with somebody else, Yeah, okay,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I'm alright. I'm just wondering. Okay. Day number three, uh
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: is Girl at Home, and that is dedicated to Aaron
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and James. Girl at Home is the song I Know
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: you have a Girl at Home. Basically, it's about like
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to date you because I know you
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: have a girl at home. Um, maybe we shouldn't go
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: through all of them because it takes can take a minute,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: but this is notable because it's Thomas, and Thomas is
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: pretty relevant right now. She uses the song I knew
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: you were trouble, you know, I knew you were trouble
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: when you walked into to Thomas Mikey Holy Ground, which
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: makes sense because he was Um the Virgin. Then we
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: have Randon she refers to, and Michael a she she uses,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: I almost do, And that is a song about like
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: if the guy reaches out to you. So in the song,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: the guy reaches out to Taylor, and Taylor talks about
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: how hard it is for her to like not respond
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: because she knows that if she worded to respond that
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: it would just like this would happened again. So also
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: kind of interesting, So maybe Michael has reached out to Katie. Maybe,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: But also here to close this one up, was there
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: any about John? Okay? So you're like, okay, actually it's
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: shut up. So yes, the one about John is begin Again,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: which is the song on the album about like never
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: thinking that I was going to get over the last guy,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: but then I showed up at a coffee shop and
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I had a cute day and and you were so pleasant.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I never would have thought that I would want to
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: begin again, but you make me want to. Oh my goodness. Well,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: a lot going on over there in the Katie Thurston,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Blake Moins Taylor Swift world. Obviously a lot of opinions
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: being had, but that's what we know right now. Now
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: onto a next relationship, one that is in really good spirits,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: in a really good place. But an interesting headline coming
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: from the Ben Higgins and Jessica Agan's wedding Bachelor Nations.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Dean Angler told Kalin she should propose to him. This
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: according to E, Yeah, I heard about this this week. Um,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: so so what happened here? Um, this conversation happened at
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: your wedding. Yeah, conversation happened at my wedding. Okay, So
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Derek pays fiancee. I was talking to Calin, and um,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: she said, are they married? Since you know? She asked
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Derek like, are they married because he's wearing a ring?
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: And then he said, as far as the government's concerned, no,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: but as far as our hearts concerned, yes, That's what
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Dean said. And then Calin leaned over and said, will
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: be it will be engaged by trust me hm. Then
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Dean goes, I don't know if she's speaking for me
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: or if she's saying that because she's going to propose
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: to me. He says, I've made it pretty clear to her.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I was like, if you really want to get married,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: you should be the one proposing to me. So I
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: think she's got something in the works for that. My goodness, well,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I couldn't think of it happening in any other way. Seriously,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: come on, don't put Klin in that situation. Dean. Yeah. Well, uh,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: hopefully she's confident that he would say yes. I think
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: he would. She's just going to be that guy. My
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: one of my best friends she joked for She joked
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: one night. She was like, one day, I'm going to
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: propose to you. And she made her keep that promise
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and she did. There you go, Hey, new times, new things.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: Why not? Um, But come on, Dean, if Calin wants
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: you to propose to her, if that's her desire, then
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: go for it. That's my opinion. If if she's saying
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I want to propose you, great, whatever, But if she's asking,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: like saying, Dean, come on please, then give come on Dean. Um. Well,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: next headline is this Colton Underwood wants to find himself
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: in Coming Out Colton trailer. The quote I watched the trailer. Yeah,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: it's a good trailer. Um. The quote is I didn't
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: want to be gay. This according to US Weekly, So
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: you definitely get the vibe through watching the trailer that
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: we're gonna have a lot of things addressed. One his
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: just his hesitance, is his just wanting to literally he
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: said like he would He just thought at one point
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: he would die with this secret. We are going to
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: talk about being like a football player who's gay. We're
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: going to talk about coming out to his dad, which
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: he was so so nervous about, and he does it
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: on camera on this show. And we're also going to
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: address Cassie a lot. He talks about how he totally
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: screwed her, like screwed her over um, and he just
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: treated her so poorly. He treated her poorly. Um. We
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: talked about the restraining They're going to talk about the
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: restraining order in this show, and it's gonna be a lot.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: But um, it looks very intriguing to me. It does. Um,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: it does look very intriguing to me. Yeah, it looks
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: well done. Yeah, yeah, I you know there's uh. I
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: hope it's gonna help many. Um. I hope Colton is good.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: But I haven't talked to Colton in years, so I
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: have no clue. But it does look intriguing. Final headline
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: of today is one kind of writing off of our
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: comments earlier, says John Hersey went on record to nine
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Katie Thurston cheated on Blake moins Is according to Cosmos.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: So at this point we do believe from everything we
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: hear and know that there was no cheating going on. Okay,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: so there's two parts to this. Blake is on was
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: on the Talking About podcast where he starts saying that,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: you know, you think about timelines, it's kind of suspicious.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I know they spent a lot of time together and stuff,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: but there's no way I didn't have I never had
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: an inkling that they would like get together. He also said,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I'm secure guy, I'm confident guy, and I give my
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: trust out on especially to the person I should be
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: trusting the most. I really don't think there was any
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: physical cheating there, but there's definitely clearly um emotional for
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: it to translate as quickly as possible as quickly as
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: it did. And Blake is obviously not the only one
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: question this timeline, the super quick timeline, so because there's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: so many fans out there doing so. On Friday, John
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: revealed that he had a lot of thoughts on the subject,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: and he wrote about these thoughts on Reddit. Sure, why
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: would you go there come on almost famous podcast John
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: What Okay he goes. This is where he posted a
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: lengthy open letter denying any and all rumors of wrongdoing
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: or infidelity. Katie and I developed an incredible and deep
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: friendship over the last half a year or so. The
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: circumstances by which this friendship formed was a series of crazy,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: random and coincidental events that I'm sure you'll hear all
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: about at a later point. My point for now is
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: that they were always platonic um. He says that he
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: and Katie hadn't even had a romantic connection when he
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: was actively vying for her love on the s on
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: the season because he was on her season and stating
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: very directly that they hadn't cheated and there was no
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: wrongdoing prior to the end of her engagement. Uh. He
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: also went on to address that fast and messy timeline,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: which he admitted that he and Katie knew didn't make
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: for good optics. He said, I urge you to put
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: yourself in our shoes. Once Katie and I realized there
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: was a romantic connection that we were interested in exploring,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: we were not starting from scratch. We were building off
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: of the foundation of a close friendship which through which
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: we had already gotten to know each other so well.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: The speed at which I fell for this incredible, nurturing, caring,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: genuinely caring human was honestly terrifying. I was scared, but
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: every step felt so right. Wow, but redd It, what
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: an interesting choice, What an interesting choice. What a close
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: out today's episode. We want to give a big congratulations
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: to Astrid and Kevin. Um. They have revealed the baby's
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: name for the first time. Uh, they clapp back at critics,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: so they didn't reveal it right away. But August William went, Um,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: they're gonna call him um. Augie was born seven and
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: a half pounds. Congratulations to both them on announcing the name. Also, um,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: congratulations to having their little boy. August William went, well,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: he's so cute. He's so cute. Well that's all we
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: have for today. What a great episode. Thanks for tuning in.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: But with that, I'm back and I've been Ben yay,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: and I am here still and I've been. Ashley By
