- 0:03Speaker 1: Boulet Cap Podcast special guests in here representing Victorville. I've
- 0:08Speaker 1: never said that before. Janaia is here.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome, thank you for having me.
- 0:12Speaker 1: So were you like born and raised in Victorville? Yes,
- 0:15Speaker 1: what's that like?
- 0:18Speaker 2: It's it's it's very desolate out there, very boring. It's
- 0:22Speaker 2: it's interesting.
- 0:23Speaker 1: There's a lot of like just illegal trap houses and
- 0:26Speaker 1: weed grows out there. Yes, that's where everybody they leave
- 0:30Speaker 1: LA and then they go to Victorville or Apple Valley
- 0:32Speaker 1: and then they grow tons of drugs in their backyard.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes, a lot of abandoned houses.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I know way too much about Victorville, and
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'd be in Apple Valley a lot. I actually have
- 0:42Speaker 1: a Victorville story. I broke down driving from Vegas to
- 0:48Speaker 1: Paid Dues festival. Do you know what that is?
- 0:50Speaker 2: No?
- 0:50Speaker 1: No, okay, So maybe like ten years ago, there was
- 0:53Speaker 1: this festival that merges to throw called paid Dues. It
- 0:56Speaker 1: was like a rolling what's not rolling loud? It was
- 0:58Speaker 1: like rock Do you remember Rock the Bells at all?
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's before your erak. Anyway, I had like I don't know,
- 1:05Speaker 1: sixty tickets to this thing that I stole from my
- 1:07Speaker 1: promotions director at the radio station in Vegas, right, so
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, we gotta go to fucking It
- 1:13Speaker 1: was at UH in San Bernardino, and I had all this,
- 1:16Speaker 1: all these tickets. I was like, I gotta gout there
- 1:17Speaker 1: and sell them. I'mnna scalp these fucking tickets.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:20Speaker 1: We broke down in the middle of the desert. Oh
- 1:22Speaker 1: my We me and my best friend David hitchhiked with
- 1:27Speaker 1: some drunk ass fools who were drinking and driving like
- 1:29Speaker 1: a twenty four pack of bud Light the whole time. No,
- 1:33Speaker 1: we stop in Apple Valley at like the craziest trap
- 1:37Speaker 1: house I've ever seen in my life. I'm thinking, these
- 1:39Speaker 1: guys are gonna kill us at harvestar Organs.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Not Harvest Organs.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It was wild. We're like texting people like, yo, bro,
- 1:47Speaker 1: we're in some place called Apple Valley.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I never been a fuck No, I know you were scared.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It was just wild. It was like, I didn't like,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I still haven't seen this part of Apple Valley I
- 1:55Speaker 1: was in because it was fucked up, like there was
- 1:57Speaker 1: like a park like a horror movie basically. Yeah. And
- 1:59Speaker 1: then we ended up in Victorville, and then finally we
- 2:01Speaker 1: got dropped off in San Bernardino. But that was my
- 2:03Speaker 1: first impression of your city. But I've been back a
- 2:06Speaker 1: lot more so.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Well damn, I mean, I hope I can make a
- 2:09Speaker 2: better impression than that for Victorial Do.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You guys like, like, as a kid, do you grow
- 2:14Speaker 1: up like coming to LA for stuff or cause it's
- 2:16Speaker 1: kind of far?
- 2:17Speaker 2: I honestly had never been to like La really, yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 2: my whole life, I was really in just Victorville. That
- 2:23Speaker 2: was it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So what like when you're growing up, like, are you
- 2:25Speaker 1: singing the whole time?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, that was all I had, right, you know,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I had a big imagination being somewhere where there's not
- 2:31Speaker 2: a lot going on, Like out here there's so much
- 2:34Speaker 2: going on, But when you're in a town that's just
- 2:36Speaker 2: so desolate and there's really nothing, all you have is
- 2:39Speaker 2: your imagination and your talents to just kind of distract you.
- 2:43Speaker 1: What was for you like the moment where you started
- 2:47Speaker 1: to catch some sort of attraction because obviously you're signing
- 2:49Speaker 1: a deaf jam, that's a big deal.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I would say it took me.
- 2:51Speaker 2: It took me a while. I started my TikTok when
- 2:54Speaker 2: I was seventeen eighteen, and I was just posting covers
- 2:58Speaker 2: on there really, right, it took a while for people
- 3:02Speaker 2: to give me attention. It took about thirty forty videos
- 3:06Speaker 2: until I like hit a big video.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Oh wow, yeah, gotta be consistent, Yeah, gotta be consisting.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah. It was very frustrating because TikTok, like you just
- 3:15Speaker 2: never know with it.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So that was the thing for me.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But around twenty nineteen, twenty twenty is when I really
- 3:21Speaker 2: started to gain traction with just my covers.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So the covers are what did like people just heard you?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Do you remember what song you covered that was like
- 3:28Speaker 1: the one that really.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I would say the first one was one plus one
- 3:31Speaker 2: by Beyonce okay, and then the second one was Nobody's
- 3:36Speaker 2: Supposed to Be Here by Deborah Cox.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Oh you got the jams yup? So for you, like,
- 3:42Speaker 1: because I feel like a lot of people they'll go
- 3:46Speaker 1: on TikTok or they'll go on like the maybe it's
- 3:48Speaker 1: YouTube or reels or whatever, and they get like super
- 3:52Speaker 1: deflated or discouraged when like the first like ten videos
- 3:56Speaker 1: don't work and then they kind of give up. Like
- 3:58Speaker 1: for you, was it just like no matter what, you gonna.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Just had nothing to lose, really, I had nothing to.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Lose in the desert hangs.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I was working at Walmart at the time, Like, oh yeah, cashier.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so that was motivation in Victorville.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Walmart in Victorville, that was motivation enough, Like that had
- 4:14Speaker 2: nothing to lose.
- 4:15Speaker 1: You had to have seen some Shiit was this a
- 4:18Speaker 1: twenty four hour Walmart?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yes, this is twenty four hours.
- 4:20Speaker 1: This was like and this was d It's my favorite COVID.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Too, when people were going crazy.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And taking all the time in the middle of Victorville.
- 4:29Speaker 1: What kind of wild ass ship did you see?
- 4:32Speaker 2: We got You're not gonna believe me, we got We
- 4:35Speaker 2: almost got robbed by somebody.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I believe in a wheelchair. Were they overweight?
- 4:41Speaker 3: I don't exactly.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Remember the specifics of it, but we almost got robbed
- 4:46Speaker 2: by somebody that was in a wheelchair.
- 4:48Speaker 3: And that was that was crazy.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Cargo shorts on and cargo.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was America.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I don't even know how that, you know.
- 4:55Speaker 1: The Eagle T shirt and Maga hat. Yeah, and there
- 4:59Speaker 1: like give me all your give me all your Marlboro reds.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I want all the cigarettes now.
- 5:07Speaker 2: All the cigarettes now, No, that happened, Let's go branded.
- 5:14Speaker 2: They had me doing crazy stuff, Like I was the cashier,
- 5:17Speaker 2: but they had me planning security sometimes because people would
- 5:19Speaker 2: try and steal like the groceries and the whatever it is,
- 5:22Speaker 2: and they're like go stand out front and make sure
- 5:24Speaker 2: they don't leave. And I'm like I'm not.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Did you work overnights?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yes?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Oh wow, yes, good for you.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I used to just go and get super high with
- 5:32Speaker 1: my friends and hang on at Walmart when I was
- 5:34Speaker 1: like fifteen because it was the only thing near our house.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Like the shit you see at three in the morning
- 5:38Speaker 1: in a Walmart's wild, No, especially out there because that's
- 5:42Speaker 1: particular area.
- 5:43Speaker 2: There is nothing to do, so all you do is
- 5:45Speaker 2: go to Walmart and you know, see weird stuff happening.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I'm sure, Like yeah, are you like pretty
- 5:51Speaker 1: hip to the fact there's like all the weed girls
- 5:53Speaker 1: in the world are around your house? Yes, yes, it's
- 5:58Speaker 1: pretty crazy.
- 5:58Speaker 3: It is pretty crazy.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of wild. Like uh and then like
- 6:04Speaker 1: I go out there a lot because my friend has
- 6:06Speaker 1: a ranch and like we'll like drive his Uh what
- 6:10Speaker 1: are those the can ams, like the four wheelers just
- 6:12Speaker 1: in the middle of apple valleys?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, culture is the main Yes, that is the culture
- 6:17Speaker 2: out there.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Surprise that. Wow, it's great that you know all this.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh you don't have to like explain it.
- 6:23Speaker 1: To Oh I'm hip. Yeah, there's like yeah, I mean
- 6:26Speaker 1: I've spent a lot of memorially weekends out there. And
- 6:28Speaker 1: then we'll go to like everything's just so sad, Like
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'll go to like a Stater Bros. Out there or whatever.
- 6:32Speaker 3: It is just a terrible grocery store.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yea, it's a good yard sales in Apple Valley.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of old folks and drug dealers.
- 6:43Speaker 1: That's about it.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yes, it's either.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Really old people or really old drug addicts or drug.

- 9:25Speaker 1: Let's get back to the interview. Who would you kind
- 9:28Speaker 1: of like say or your biggest influences as an artist.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I would say number one, I would say Prince, and
- 9:34Speaker 2: I say Prince. Yes, Prince, shot out the Prince. Shout
- 9:37Speaker 2: out to Prince. That was the first piece of art
- 9:42Speaker 2: that I listened to when I was a kid. That
- 9:44Speaker 2: was like my awakening where I realized I wanted to
- 9:46Speaker 2: do music. The first movie I ever saw was Purple Rain,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and I remember.
- 9:50Speaker 1: The first movie you ever saw in life.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Purple Rain was Purple or at.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Least the first movie, the.
- 9:56Speaker 2: First movie that I remember saying over there, I was
- 10:02Speaker 2: just really mesmerized by how he didn't care like what
- 10:07Speaker 2: he was doing for back then, to be wearing what
- 10:10Speaker 2: he was wearing and singing the way he was singing
- 10:12Speaker 2: and righting the way. Yeah, it was just I was like,
- 10:14Speaker 2: who is that? So I would say number one is Prince.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Number two would be Beyonce.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean that's a good one two punch. Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Beyonce.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I mean just her work, ethic in general, her just everything.
- 10:26Speaker 1: About her have you sold any organs to get Beyonce
- 10:30Speaker 1: tickets yet?
- 10:30Speaker 2: No, not yet, but I'm planning on it.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Because Renaissance tour. There's people I know who are going
- 10:35Speaker 1: to Europe just to see the tour because it's like
- 10:38Speaker 1: it's not even doesn't make sense to go here because
- 10:40Speaker 1: it's so expensive.
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's so expensive, but I gotta do its. No, I
- 10:46Speaker 2: haven't seen her live yet, but I'm going to the
- 10:48Speaker 2: Renaissance concert.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You watch the Netflix the little like the Coachella performance.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And it is good over and over again.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, shout outs to Beyonce, so you take prints over
- 10:58Speaker 1: Michael Jackson.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Would't necessarily say that. I wouldn't say that Michael Jackson.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Michael Jackson's.
- 11:05Speaker 1: For different reasons, like he was like an alien like
- 11:09Speaker 1: talented human being.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yes, they're both very, very talented. I would just say
- 11:13Speaker 2: leaned towards more towards Prince growing up.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Shout out to what's your favorite Beyonce album? Oh that
- 11:19Speaker 1: is so hard for Okay, shout out to Beyonce. Beyonce
- 11:23Speaker 1: got Classics.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I would say four and then Lemonade.
- 11:25Speaker 1: After Lemonade's the one where it was like right after
- 11:30Speaker 1: the breakup, right or that the elevator.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Incident, right, yeah, the elevator incident.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it wasn't Lemonade, the one that just
- 11:36Speaker 1: came out out of nowhere. It was like one day
- 11:39Speaker 1: we woke up and the album was out.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I think. I think so, I'm pretty sure.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Or no, I feel like maybe she's done that more
- 11:44Speaker 1: than onths. Maybe I'm tripping.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, she did that more than once.
- 11:46Speaker 2: It was with that one and then her self titled album.
- 11:51Speaker 1: So you've been putting out a lot of dope like
- 11:53Speaker 1: visuals that everything's black and white? Why is everything black
- 11:56Speaker 1: and white?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Everything and everything is black and white? Because growing up
- 12:01Speaker 2: out in Victorville, where there's really nothing and there's nothing
- 12:04Speaker 2: going on, that's how I saw the world black and white.
- 12:07Speaker 2: It wasn't until I started going other places, like coming
- 12:10Speaker 2: out to LA and doing music and seeing the culture
- 12:13Speaker 2: and just going different places that I felt like I
- 12:14Speaker 2: started to see in color. It's really, really, really hard
- 12:18Speaker 2: to Like I told you have an imagination out there
- 12:22Speaker 2: for sure.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't think people understand.
- 12:24Speaker 3: No, it really is. You come out here and it's you.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Know, you just see everything like you're kind of in
- 12:28Speaker 1: the middle between Vegas and LA. Did you go to
- 12:30Speaker 1: Vegas a lot as a kid.
- 12:31Speaker 2: No, no, no, yeah, my parents were. My mom was
- 12:34Speaker 2: very strict growing up, so like I really didn't I
- 12:36Speaker 2: really didn't go anywhere.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Did you watch the Simpsons or are you allowed to
- 12:39Speaker 1: watch the Simpsons? Yeah, I don't know how strict. There's
- 12:42Speaker 1: some moms who didn't let my friends watched the Simpsons
- 12:44Speaker 1: or family.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Of course, everybody's watched the Simpsons.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I got friends who grew up
- 12:49Speaker 1: like super strict religious households. When we were over there,
- 12:51Speaker 1: couldn't watch the Simpsons.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Simpsons.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, man can celebrate Halloween, you know, oh, like the
- 12:57Speaker 1: Devil's Holiday, you know.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Oh God, I don't know, won't We won't get into that.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So everything's black and white because you feel like being
- 13:04Speaker 1: from where you're from. That was kind of like it's
- 13:08Speaker 1: probably how a lot of people see the world, right, Yeah, it's.
- 13:10Speaker 2: How a lot of people see the world. But when
- 13:13Speaker 2: you have a big dream, a lot of people are
- 13:15Speaker 2: going to think you're crazy.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:17Speaker 3: They see things in black and white, and that's how
- 13:19Speaker 3: I see it.
- 13:20Speaker 2: This might never get mad at people because your environment
- 13:23Speaker 2: where you're at.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Of course, when somebody tells you.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I want to be. I want to be a big artist.
- 13:27Speaker 2: They're going to be like, oh, that's not you know,
- 13:29Speaker 2: that's not going to happen. That's why I say like,
- 13:31Speaker 2: I wanted to give my audience a point of view
- 13:33Speaker 2: from how I saw things, and I felt like in
- 13:36Speaker 2: my city a lot of things were black and white.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Has there been any like rappers or anybody from
- 13:42Speaker 1: out there that's popped off? I feel like I feel
- 13:44Speaker 1: like i'd heard of somebody.
- 13:46Speaker 2: If they're half I don't think they claim Victorville. I
- 13:50Speaker 2: usually hear them say that they're from LA.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That's a crazy statement. Yeah, I usually they're from that
- 13:57Speaker 1: is up a hill.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Usually they say that they're from to.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Drive up a mountain to get there.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yes, you do.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So.
- 14:02Speaker 3: It was very interesting, but it's all right.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Gotta stop the interview real quick to tell you about
- 14:07Speaker 1: our family at Blue Chew. Baby. That's right, it's getting
- 14:11Speaker 1: hot outside. You know what that means, fellas you're about
- 14:13Speaker 1: to go get that dick wet. You know what I'm saying.
- 14:15Speaker 1: It might as well be really hard. It might as
- 14:17Speaker 1: well be as hard as it could possibly be. And
- 14:20Speaker 1: with Blue Choo you will achieve such hardness, all right,
- 14:23Speaker 1: it's seriously amazing, and the best part about blue Choo
- 14:27Speaker 1: is you can find out if it works. Don't just
- 14:30Speaker 1: take my word for it. They're gonna give you a
- 14:31Speaker 1: month's supply for free. Go to blue choo dot com.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Use that promo code Bootleg. Get a month supply for
- 14:38Speaker 1: free bluetoo dot com promo code Bootleg. Now it's the
- 14:40Speaker 1: same active ingredient as Viagra and Cialis, minus the awkward
- 14:45Speaker 1: doctor appointment. You do not have to go see some

- 17:11Speaker 1: on the way.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Yes, So the whole tape is coming literally next month,
- 17:15Speaker 2: and right now I'm working on my second tape.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So we're calling these mixtapes.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yes, they're mixtapes. Mixtapes.
- 17:21Speaker 2: A new single called False Prophet is coming out this
- 17:24Speaker 2: week this Friday, the nineteenth White False Prophet.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Oh, it's such a long story.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Well, when I was growing up, my mom and I
- 17:36Speaker 2: we were we were in a very i would say,
- 17:39Speaker 2: abusive household, and my dad at the time decided he
- 17:46Speaker 2: wanted to be a pastor. Oh so kind of what
- 17:49Speaker 2: you were saying with those strict parents that wouldn't let.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Their kids da da dad.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Well, he just decided one day, he just decided that
- 17:54Speaker 1: he was going to do it.
- 17:56Speaker 3: And you know, he wasn't. He wasn't. He didn't go
- 18:00Speaker 3: about it in a very godly way. Was it Culty, No,
- 18:04Speaker 3: it wasn't Culty.
- 18:05Speaker 2: It was more so that he was getting up on
- 18:08Speaker 2: stage preaching to a congregation, but would go home and
- 18:11Speaker 2: it would be another thing.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That happens a lot.
- 18:15Speaker 2: No, it does happen a lot more than people you know,
- 18:18Speaker 2: talk about. But he would go on stage and you know,
- 18:20Speaker 2: preach and say the word and whatnot. But we would
- 18:22Speaker 2: go home and it was it was a completely different story.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:26Speaker 2: So that that's where I got the title false Prophet from.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So it's about your dad kind.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Of, yes, yes, a letter to him. Yes.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Wow. So you grew up religious religious ish kind Yeah? Yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I mean you obviously we're going to church on the weekend.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I was going to church every Sunday. And I
- 18:42Speaker 2: mean I'm still you know, I have my faith and whatnot,
- 18:45Speaker 2: but at the time it was it was very complicated.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Right. That should probably make you like resent church.
- 18:53Speaker 2: No, no, no, it has nothing to do with the
- 18:55Speaker 2: church or or God or anything in general. I think
- 18:59Speaker 2: I separate that. I'm really good at separating it.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that the only time like I grew
- 19:05Speaker 1: up like really like going to church was Channel twenty
- 19:08Speaker 1: one in Phoenix, Arizona. You'd be able to turn it
- 19:11Speaker 1: on and there'd be those turned up dudes on TV
- 19:14Speaker 1: with them suits. Man, you know what I mean. They
- 19:16Speaker 1: would just be barking like I want to hang out
- 19:18Speaker 1: with this Pimplican preacher guy, you know what I mean
- 19:23Speaker 1: a lot of these preachers, they're like they're dressed like,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you know, like like Steve Harvey and like Kings of Comedy,
- 19:28Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, yeah, well look, False Prophet coming out soon.
