- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites presented by DraftKings.
- 0:12Speaker 2: The Crown is yours. We are an Action Network podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm Brandon Kravitz, your host on this fine Tuesday afternoon,
- 0:19Speaker 2: back at it with my Favorites crew, the first Lady
- 0:22Speaker 2: of the Pod, Kendrim Middleton, and the Prime Minister of
- 0:25Speaker 2: DJEN Nation, Stucky Stuck.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We had ourselves Bill self as a dog on a
- 0:30Speaker 1: Monday night and he reigned supreme Again. Which side were
- 0:34Speaker 1: you on in this big time Big twelve battle?
- 0:38Speaker 3: I'm Kansas. I mean, that's incredible how good they are
- 0:41Speaker 3: on Monday nights. But that Monday night home court advantage
- 0:44Speaker 3: is like for a big conference game, no joke is
- 0:47Speaker 3: like five points. It's as juice up as you can get.
- 0:52Speaker 3: And yeah, this Houston team they have, there's some issues there.
- 0:57Speaker 3: They're just they're not as elite defensively as they have been.
- 1:03Speaker 3: They really missed some of their bigs that they've had,
- 1:06Speaker 3: and I mean you just look at the turnover rates
- 1:11Speaker 3: that they've forced. You know, i mean Kansas ended up
- 1:15Speaker 3: they had Cansas ended up with an eighteen percent turn
- 1:17Speaker 3: of a rate, but you know, they finished with twelve turnovers,
- 1:20Speaker 3: but they had like seven in the first ten minutes.
- 1:23Speaker 3: But the previous two games for Houston they played and
- 1:27Speaker 3: they now I've lost three in a row. The first time.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It's twenty seventeen. They played Iowa State in Arizona to
- 1:32Speaker 3: top ten teams. They had single digit turnover rates the
- 1:36Speaker 3: previous three years combined that only happened one time for
- 1:40Speaker 3: a Houston opponent. So this defense just isn't as elite
- 1:44Speaker 3: as it's been, and the offense, like it's it has
- 1:49Speaker 3: a higher ceiling because of Flemings, the future NBA guard
- 1:55Speaker 3: who's very electrical, though she's struggling a bit of late.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Maybe he hit a bit of a one. But the
- 2:00Speaker 3: offense still they take so many bad shots, like they
- 2:04Speaker 3: take too many bad twos and bad three like it's
- 2:06Speaker 3: just the shot diet is pretty disgusting. They could get
- 2:11Speaker 3: over that.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:12Speaker 3: They never got over over the ultimate hump and won
- 2:14Speaker 3: a national title, but they've been pretty close. They got
- 2:17Speaker 3: over that because their defense was so good. I mean,
- 2:19Speaker 3: you look last year twenty twenty five, number one, we're
- 2:24Speaker 3: just going KEMPOM Adjusted defense efficiency number one, twenty twenty four,
- 2:28Speaker 3: number two, twenty twenty three, number five. So like the
- 2:31Speaker 3: last three years they were top five defense. This year
- 2:33Speaker 3: they're still really good, but they're seventh. And I'm just
- 2:37Speaker 3: not sure that given some of their offensive flaws and
- 2:41Speaker 3: the droughts that they go on. You saw that against Arizona,
- 2:44Speaker 3: the drought and then the drought in the second half
- 2:46Speaker 3: against Kansas, their defense isn't as elite to over compensate
- 2:50Speaker 3: for some of those issues on the offensive end. So yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 3: I have some questions about this Houston team that's dropped
- 2:57Speaker 3: three straight. I mean, granted, the schedule has been very,
- 3:00Speaker 3: very tough. I mean, at I was stay at home
- 3:01Speaker 3: against Arizona and at Kansas, but that just that the
- 3:05Speaker 3: way that that losing to Arizona was pretty telling because
- 3:09Speaker 3: that was a great spot. Arizona was not one hundred
- 3:11Speaker 3: percent healthy, Houston was at home coming off the loss,
- 3:16Speaker 3: and they just went through too big of a drought.
- 3:20Speaker 3: So yeah, I was on Kansas. The streak lives on.
- 3:24Speaker 3: It's pretty stunning that they've what Bill Soff has done
- 3:28Speaker 3: on Big Mondays in arguably the best home court advantage
- 3:33Speaker 3: in college basketball.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It feels like that's become so publicized that last night
- 3:37Speaker 1: would have been that that perfect bubble bursting opportunity, but
- 3:40Speaker 1: Kansas continued on in winning on Monday nights as dogs
- 3:45Speaker 1: at home. Kendraw, what's the last thing that you bet on?
- 3:50Speaker 4: USA?
- 3:51Speaker 5: That was my parly, both of the men's and the
- 3:53Speaker 5: women's team.
- 3:54Speaker 2: You had an all patriotic parlay.
- 3:57Speaker 5: I did plus one ninety. I talked about it on
- 3:59Speaker 5: our Olympic shell, So that hit for me. I think
- 4:02Speaker 5: that that was the last thing that I bet on.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I put some.
- 4:05Speaker 5: Tournament futures in on Saturday, I think, and then that
- 4:08Speaker 5: was kind of it.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Both both of my gold medal under my theory, they
- 4:15Speaker 3: came through easily.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Five and a half was juiced to the gills.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I mean it was like, yeah, granted that was my
- 4:24Speaker 3: thesis and get so many dollars I wagered on both
- 4:27Speaker 3: zero but hopefully someone out there listened. But yeah, that
- 4:34Speaker 3: was a a thrilling finish. I mean that they, to
- 4:39Speaker 3: be fair, the US was getting I was like, we're
- 4:43Speaker 3: going to lose the whole time.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I mean Josh Engels from covers that we had on
- 4:46Speaker 1: to preview what we weren't even at the point yet
- 4:49Speaker 1: where both teams had qualified for the final, but they
- 4:53Speaker 1: he had both of them in the final USA and Canada,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and he said he was gonna have Canada on the
- 4:58Speaker 1: money line in the under.
- 5:00Speaker 2: And it's one of those situations.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Where betting was the read was right, Canada was the
- 5:05Speaker 1: right side, but Team USA was the winning side.
- 5:08Speaker 4: It happens the goaltending I called it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Hallibuck was amazing. And then and.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Then you just have a really Bennington sucks.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Three on three is just relt so like then you're
- 5:21Speaker 3: just basically flipping a coin once you get to that.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I mean, it's pretty exciting, but I also can see
- 5:28Speaker 3: how some of the purest are upset that that's how
- 5:30Speaker 3: it ends.
- 5:30Speaker 5: But I hate the three on three in a metal match,
- 5:34Speaker 5: but I'll take it.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You know what I hate even more though, Kendra is
- 5:37Speaker 1: John Cooper, the coach of Canada, complaining about it after
- 5:41Speaker 1: the fact.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Dude, shut up.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Nathan McKinnon too.
- 5:44Speaker 3: But they wanted three on three overtime.
- 5:47Speaker 4: They did. They did that.
- 5:48Speaker 5: They're they're getting prior, but like, yeah, like that's the
- 5:51Speaker 5: thing is like him and Nathan McKinnon said in a
- 5:54Speaker 5: quote that the better team didn't.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Win that day.
- 5:58Speaker 5: I mean, that's sports, Okay, would you guys, I don't
- 6:02Speaker 5: know if you saw this. I personally have been super
- 6:05Speaker 5: obsessed with Tina the mascot, the like white like squirrel thing.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And I don't know if you guys saw, but after
- 6:12Speaker 5: every like event, they were handing like a plushy of
- 6:15Speaker 5: the mascot to the medalists.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And yeah, I was wondering what that was.
- 6:21Speaker 5: And so they gave them to the women the day prior,
- 6:23Speaker 5: and the girls are like crying and like getting their
- 6:26Speaker 5: medals and their silver medals and like their plushies. And
- 6:29Speaker 5: then the boys, like every time someone hands them a plushy,
- 6:32Speaker 5: they're just like ready to like rip its head off
- 6:34Speaker 5: to shreds. Would you guys want a plushy after like
- 6:37Speaker 5: the most devastating loss of your life, because I totally
- 6:41Speaker 5: would after.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Losing, No, I wouldn't want no part of it.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But if I won, I think the plushy would would
- 6:48Speaker 1: mean just as much to me as the medal. My
- 6:50Speaker 1: kid would be very excited about it, so that one
- 6:52Speaker 1: would probably make its way around the.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Crest justice for my girl Tina.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I had no I.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Had no idea that that's what they were. I was
- 7:01Speaker 1: wondering why they were handing out plush dolls to these people.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You By the way, guys, I've seen this fast food
- 7:07Speaker 1: graphic going viral. I saw Stucky comment on this as well.
- 7:10Speaker 1: We've got to talk about one of his responses, which
- 7:14Speaker 1: four would you want in your city if you could
- 7:16Speaker 1: only choose four? And there are roughly fifty fast food chains,
- 7:22Speaker 1: some of which I don't.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Even think are in existence anymore.
- 7:24Speaker 1: There's a lot of old logos that are on this
- 7:26Speaker 1: graphic that's been shared, and a lot of people are
- 7:28Speaker 1: chiming in on what four you would want. Hopefully we
- 7:32Speaker 1: can get this graphic up on the podcast, otherwise it
- 7:36Speaker 1: will perhaps lose a bit of context.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So well, at the very least, we'll we'll put it.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Up on the Favorites Twitter page so that you can
- 7:42Speaker 1: play along with what we're talking about here. But one
- 7:45Speaker 1: of the options is Boston Market, And Stucky, do I
- 7:48Speaker 1: have this right that you you have if you could
- 7:52Speaker 1: only have four, that Boston Market would be one of
- 7:55Speaker 1: your four?
- 7:55Speaker 2: Is that accurate?
- 7:57Speaker 3: I did choose Boston Market. I'm not a fast food
- 7:59Speaker 3: per soon, as you guys know. I mean, I haven't
- 8:02Speaker 3: had McDonald's in I don't know twenty years. I haven't
- 8:07Speaker 3: I've I don't think i've ever had Taco bell. I
- 8:11Speaker 3: mean I probably did when I was like really young
- 8:13Speaker 3: or in high school at some point, but like I'm
- 8:16Speaker 3: looking through this list like I don't know. I mean
- 8:18Speaker 3: I've had it in and out in Vegas once, but
- 8:24Speaker 3: like most of these like Burger King, Wendy, Like, I
- 8:27Speaker 3: don't need any of this stuff. What what I It's
- 8:30Speaker 3: like my one healthy habit is I don't need fast food,
- 8:33Speaker 3: but I have one. But the only fast food that
- 8:37Speaker 3: I do eat, like I don't know, maybe once a
- 8:40Speaker 3: month is Chick fil A. So my thinking is, so
- 8:44Speaker 3: that's that is an automatic one for me, Like I
- 8:48Speaker 3: have to have Chick fil A, and then I want
- 8:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna use two of my spots, two of the
- 8:53Speaker 3: four spots, because the few times that I do go
- 8:56Speaker 3: to Chipla, there's always a huge line. So I want
- 9:00Speaker 3: to we'll cut down on the lines to drive through
- 9:03Speaker 3: lines make it easier for me to get my Chick
- 9:05Speaker 3: fil A. So we got two Chick fil As. Now
- 9:07Speaker 3: I would do four Chick fil A's if they were
- 9:10Speaker 3: open every day, but obviously you got to have some
- 9:13Speaker 3: restaurants on Sunday. So what what is my thinking for
- 9:18Speaker 3: the other ones?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Again?
- 9:19Speaker 3: Not fast food. Conoisseur, this is not my area of expertise.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Went with five guys. Now I've had five guys maybe
- 9:28Speaker 3: three times in my life. But I like their fries.
- 9:30Speaker 2: When I have solid choice, So.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I don't know. I people were telling me that, like
- 9:35Speaker 3: it's overpriced. Maybe I don't know. I mean, I don't
- 9:37Speaker 3: it's not like I go there every day. And then
- 9:41Speaker 3: Boston Market. I didn't really didn't know what else to choose.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I don't like maybe I would have chosen in and
- 9:49Speaker 3: O and out fries are terrible, though everyone knows that.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I mean, I get their burger. I've had it, look
- 9:53Speaker 3: one time in Vegas, so like everyone's like, well, why
- 9:55Speaker 3: is it in and out on there? I'm like, I
- 9:56Speaker 3: don't know. I live it. I'm from Philly. I live
- 9:59Speaker 3: in Kentucky. Like I don't. Haven't been around in and
- 10:01Speaker 3: out my whole life. So I chose Boston Market for
- 10:04Speaker 3: the only reason is that, and I haven't had it
- 10:07Speaker 3: in over twenty years. But when I was in high school,
- 10:11Speaker 3: we would have our summer football practices two days we
- 10:15Speaker 3: would in the summer before school started. There was a
- 10:18Speaker 3: Boston Market like down the street from our school and
- 10:23Speaker 3: we would like during lunch, you would have practiced in
- 10:25Speaker 3: the morning practice. Anthony would walk and sometimes after we
- 10:29Speaker 3: would go, but I would walk. So we would walk
- 10:31Speaker 3: sometimes to the Boston Market and get some of the chicken,
- 10:34Speaker 3: corn bread, mac and cheese, and it was good. Now,
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'm sure they it's like a lot of these places sometimes.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I think I've heard this about Waburger, like they get
- 10:43Speaker 3: this sounds with a lot of things, but like private
- 10:44Speaker 3: equity comes in, they buy them, and then it just
- 10:46Speaker 3: they'd just come in and cut costs and everything becomes terrible.
- 10:51Speaker 3: So maybe Boston Market has become terrible. I don't even
- 10:53Speaker 3: I didn't even know it existed anymore.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But you hit the nail on the head, stucky, that's
- 10:57Speaker 1: the problem. Boston Market twenty years ago absolutely a top
- 11:00Speaker 1: four candidate. Boston Market now so I just did a
- 11:03Speaker 1: quick Google search on this to back this up. There
- 11:06Speaker 1: are approximately sixteen to twenty seven Boston Market locations, left
- 11:11Speaker 1: a sharp decline from the twelve hundred at its peak.
- 11:14Speaker 1: This this business has seen a major drop off. And
- 11:19Speaker 1: the last time I went to Boston Market, which was
- 11:21Speaker 1: several years ago now, it was hot shit and this
- 11:25Speaker 1: place was great when I was growing up.
- 11:27Speaker 2: It's changed a lot.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean champing up with like Quiznos. They they
- 11:33Speaker 3: were bought out. It was like a failed buyout. I
- 11:35Speaker 3: mean they add there used to be so many Quiznos.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Now there's there's don't there's not many. There's one near
- 11:42Speaker 3: my house. I haven't eating there. But I love Boston
- 11:46Speaker 3: Market back then, so I chose that for just a
- 11:48Speaker 3: nostalgia factor. I'm sure it's terrible now, and but back then,
- 11:56Speaker 3: the last time I had it, it was really good. Now,
- 12:01Speaker 3: you know, in high school you're hungry and hot standards,
- 12:06Speaker 3: but that's why I chose it. It was probably a
- 12:10Speaker 3: terrible pick, but I went with a nostalgia pick. I
- 12:12Speaker 3: went with the pick I needed the best fries and
- 12:15Speaker 3: you need a burger spot. So I went with five guys,
- 12:18Speaker 3: and then I used two on Chick fil A to
- 12:21Speaker 3: reduce the lines, because that's the only one that I
- 12:23Speaker 3: really eat at.
- 12:25Speaker 5: You I'm an almond mom, and I only eat at Chipotle, Starbucks,
- 12:30Speaker 5: Chick fil A in and out out of these options
- 12:33Speaker 5: because they are the healthiest of the options. And that
- 12:36Speaker 5: way I get a breakfast, I get a chicken, and
- 12:40Speaker 5: I get a burger option, and I get Chipotle as
- 12:43Speaker 5: like just something fun. However, I would probably sub out in.
- 12:50Speaker 4: And out for churches if that was an option.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there are a lot of chicken options on here.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I don't see churches as one of them. In and
- 12:59Speaker 1: out is healthy, isn't that?
- 13:00Speaker 2: You can you.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Can get stuff like protein style where it's just like
- 13:04Speaker 5: the double burger with like the lettuce bun. Oh God,
- 13:10Speaker 5: also do puppy patties.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Starbucks is healthy.
- 13:14Speaker 5: Yeah, they have like I mean, like it's not the
- 13:16Speaker 5: healthiest thing in the world, but when you're on the
- 13:18Speaker 5: road getting like egg bites and a cappuccino, that's not
- 13:21Speaker 5: too bad.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I definitely have Starbucks on there. Starbucks was a lock
- 13:27Speaker 1: that didn't even have to put any thought into that.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Chipol also do like the.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Little snack boxes with like the fruits and like boiled eggs.
- 13:33Speaker 4: I eat those a lot.
- 13:34Speaker 1: And you don't have to put anything in your coffee too,
- 13:37Speaker 1: So that's a personal decision.
- 13:38Speaker 2: You could just get a regular coffee and.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Then I carry vanilla stevia on my person and hot sauce.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I think Chipotle gives the illusion that it's not fast food,
- 13:49Speaker 1: you know, like getting a taco out of a bowl
- 13:52Speaker 1: that feels like you're at a restaurant. And then I
- 13:54Speaker 1: agree with stocky five guys top tier fast cash cheeseburger,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and I'm I'm the only one that has McDonald's on here.
- 14:02Speaker 1: You know, call it chalky. But they've got breakfast. They're
- 14:05Speaker 1: open twenty four hours most of them. And there's a
- 14:09Speaker 1: reason why this business has sustained success over decades.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Yeah, my view on fast food is so tained. And
- 14:17Speaker 3: I had a friend she was she started one of
- 14:19Speaker 3: my best friends in high school. She ended up starting
- 14:23Speaker 3: a couple healthy fast food restaurants and like farmed table,
- 14:30Speaker 3: like really healthy fresh And this is a long time ago,
- 14:37Speaker 3: but she used to send me all of the videos
- 14:42Speaker 3: of like how the chicken nuggets are made and how
- 14:44Speaker 3: like all the stories of like the gross like the
- 14:48Speaker 3: chicken nuggets coming out and they die it's they come out pink,
- 14:52Speaker 3: they dye them white, and the bread them and then
- 14:54Speaker 3: like all of the So she used to feed me
- 14:57Speaker 3: all of the bats. So I became like, I'm not
- 15:00Speaker 3: eating that stuff. So that's why I just I got
- 15:03Speaker 3: turned off early from fast food.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I try not to eat it, but yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 3: So I haven't McDonald since then since like literally since
- 15:11Speaker 3: high school. But I guess that's that's probably a reasonable gas.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I mean the easiest one that cross out here is uh,
- 15:24Speaker 3: I mean Chuck E Cheese. I guess you no, Like,
- 15:31Speaker 3: how are you gonna eat that? Like literally, this is
- 15:35Speaker 3: it's just like a one giant. Before we got on here,
- 15:39Speaker 3: bad pizza.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Before you got on the call, I was hyping up.
- 15:43Speaker 5: How much I love Charles Edward Cheese's pizza.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Cheese pizza.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I literally I don't tried to order takeout, but they
- 15:55Speaker 5: wouldn't let me to gum in and get it because
- 15:57Speaker 5: I didn't have a kid with me.
- 16:00Speaker 2: A list now because she tried to get Chuck E
- 16:03Speaker 2: Cheese pizza.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I literally love Chuck E Cheese pizza. I don't care
- 16:06Speaker 4: if it's cardboard.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Yes, it's my guilty pleasure and it's like I am
- 16:10Speaker 5: an almond mom, but like every once in a while,
- 16:12Speaker 5: you just.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Got to send it. I haven't had Chuck E Cheese
- 16:14Speaker 4: pizza in a while, but it is good. I like
- 16:17Speaker 4: a year ago, but it was good.
- 16:20Speaker 3: There's a you can get Chuck E Cheese delivered here
- 16:25Speaker 3: because I was on door dash and I saw this
- 16:29Speaker 3: place that was like a pizza player. I was like,
- 16:31Speaker 3: this isn't a place and it was one of those
- 16:32Speaker 3: ghost kitchens.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Yes, they do the ghost kitchens, but they're not the.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Name it was Chuck E Cheese. I think those things
- 16:39Speaker 3: should be illegal, like those are so yeah, I mean,
- 16:45Speaker 3: like you, it'll just be like some terrible place that's
- 16:48Speaker 3: fronting as something else.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Chuck E Cheese pizza is so good. Fuck, I can't
- 16:53Speaker 4: believe you just said that.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the easiest cross out for me, Chuck E Cheese.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Could you imagine if they did let adults in there
- 17:04Speaker 2: without kids?
- 17:05Speaker 4: I mean, I get it they shouldn't. However, I should
- 17:08Speaker 4: be allowed to get pizza.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Just just bring it out and do like like like
- 17:14Speaker 1: a curbside. Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 3: It's amazing how many of these places like used to
- 17:18Speaker 3: be good and then they get bought out?
- 17:20Speaker 2: So many Canara?
- 17:22Speaker 3: I feel it used to be decent way back in
- 17:24Speaker 3: the day.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Yeah, but anyway, anyway.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Well that's what's on our minds, Kendra, what's on yours?
- 17:37Speaker 5: But okay, I had two questions for you guys, so
- 17:46Speaker 5: maybe we can quickly do both of these.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Earlier this week.
- 17:50Speaker 5: My algorithm is just as weird as I am, and
- 17:53Speaker 5: I stumbled upon a video of a guy who put
- 17:55Speaker 5: a camera on his microwave and then made like a
- 17:59Speaker 5: statue of forks and then turned the microwave on to
- 18:03Speaker 5: see what would happen on the camera.
- 18:05Speaker 4: And so I was wondering.
- 18:07Speaker 5: When did you guys, and how did you guys learn
- 18:09Speaker 5: that you can't put metal in the microwave?
- 18:13Speaker 3: By the way, you're sitting as common mom who wants
- 18:17Speaker 3: chuck e cheese pizza.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I already addressed this.
- 18:20Speaker 3: So I I still put metal in the microwave. But
- 18:26Speaker 3: what yeah, I mean, just like if it's quick and
- 18:28Speaker 3: there's a fork in something, and it's like you leave
- 18:31Speaker 3: the fork in there, you under under twenty second under
- 18:36Speaker 3: like in find a guy, he have something like twenty
- 18:37Speaker 3: twenty five seconds.
- 18:39Speaker 4: What the fuck?
- 18:40Speaker 3: But we used to put things in our I uh
- 18:46Speaker 3: messed up our microwave one time. We would we would
- 18:48Speaker 3: just put things in and see what it would do
- 18:50Speaker 3: to it. When I was a kid and we I
- 18:53Speaker 3: broke my family's microwave.
- 18:57Speaker 4: My brother.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I can see how, like, yeah, it was doing dumb
- 19:03Speaker 3: kids stuff.
- 19:04Speaker 5: I had cake plates with glitter on them from my
- 19:06Speaker 5: birthday party and I tried to heat up a piece
- 19:08Speaker 5: of pizza, and then the plate caught on fire because
- 19:10Speaker 5: of the glitter. So that's how I thought about it.
- 19:14Speaker 3: I will show you a picture I have. I have
- 19:16Speaker 3: a I almost burnt down my apartment building. So I
- 19:22Speaker 3: moved into this apartment in outside of Philly, suburbs of
- 19:29Speaker 3: Philly after I graduated college. And I just got new
- 19:38Speaker 3: baking sheets and I put them in the thing under
- 19:45Speaker 3: the oven, and then I put my oven on and
- 19:53Speaker 3: I put I was I was making fish and and
- 19:59Speaker 3: baked potatoes, and I had I put whatever. I forget
- 20:02Speaker 3: what I put in the oven, but I put it
- 20:03Speaker 3: in the oven. And then I went I was taking
- 20:06Speaker 3: a shower, and I mean bad potatoes take a while
- 20:10Speaker 3: in the oven. And then all of a sudden, the
- 20:14Speaker 3: fire alarm was going off, and I mean my smoke
- 20:18Speaker 3: detector was going off, and I was like, is that
- 20:21Speaker 3: coming from in here? So I got out of the shower,
- 20:25Speaker 3: I ran over to my oven, opened the oven, and
- 20:29Speaker 3: there was just flames, and I shut it. What happened
- 20:33Speaker 3: is I bought these things, and there was a I
- 20:38Speaker 3: have a picture of the aftermath. I'll send it to you.
- 20:42Speaker 3: There was like something I didn't take off like a
- 20:45Speaker 3: paper thing or a plastic thing on the bottom of
- 20:48Speaker 3: one of the that must.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Have smelled so bad between plastic and fish.
- 20:54Speaker 3: So there was like flames. I didn't have a fire extinguisher.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I didn't have anything. So I turned around and I
- 21:06Speaker 3: grabbed the the water like that I have a like
- 21:12Speaker 3: I had a thing that comes out of it, you
- 21:13Speaker 3: know what I'm talking about, Like you can pull it
- 21:15Speaker 3: out of the sink.
- 21:17Speaker 4: And I was just.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Spraying water in into the oven. And it's somehow you
- 21:27Speaker 3: like twenty one twenty two, and but it like burnt.
- 21:32Speaker 3: There was obviously like burnt my oven. There was like
- 21:35Speaker 3: all all kinds of burn marks, and but the fire
- 21:41Speaker 3: fire company had to come and but luckily I put
- 21:46Speaker 3: it out, Like I was like, there was a second
- 21:49Speaker 3: where I was like, oh my god, what do I do.
- 21:51Speaker 3: I'm gonna burn down this entire place. But that's the
- 21:55Speaker 3: close stuff ever come to burning something down.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Rabbits, How do you learn about your microwave?
- 22:01Speaker 2: I honest, I've been thinking about it the whole time.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And other than the fact that I was fascinated by
- 22:05Speaker 1: Stucky story and then I got lost in that. But
- 22:08Speaker 1: I don't know honestly, I'm surprised I don't have a
- 22:12Speaker 1: story like that, but I don't. It's just one of
- 22:16Speaker 1: those things, like a lot of things in life, you
- 22:17Speaker 1: just kind of pick up as you go along, and
- 22:19Speaker 1: you don't really recall why you know something. Now, just
- 22:23Speaker 1: anytime there's even a question, you just google it. I
- 22:26Speaker 1: don't know how we learned anything back in the day,
- 22:29Speaker 1: just sort of you do. Just everything pre internet was
- 22:32Speaker 1: just trial by fire, and I'm assuming something like that happened,
- 22:37Speaker 1: but I have no recollection of it, so I cannot help.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I cannot help in this discussion.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Okay, well that's what I had.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Well, we are going to get to some football news,
- 22:48Speaker 1: but first let's kick it over to our very own
- 22:50Speaker 1: Kendri Middleton for a little bit more about DraftKings.
- 22:53Speaker 5: The Favorites podcast has teamed up with DraftKings Sportsbook, where
- 22:56Speaker 5: new customers can bet five dollars and get two hundred
- 22:59Speaker 5: back back bonus bets if your bet wins.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Love the thrill of.
- 23:02Speaker 5: Live betting, DraftKings has got you covered. Bet on star

- 23:09Speaker 4: code Favorites when signing up with DraftKings again.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Use code favorites when signing up and bet five bucks
- 23:14Speaker 5: to get two hundred back end bonus bets.
- 23:16Speaker 4: If your bet wins, the crown is yours.
- 23:18Speaker 1: All right, let's come through a couple of this This
- 23:21Speaker 1: franchise tag news that's out there. The Falcons say you
- 23:24Speaker 1: can have Kyle Pitts if you pry him from our
- 23:27Speaker 1: dead cold hands. Atlanta is reportedly planning on franchise tagging
- 23:32Speaker 1: Kyle Pitts, who was finally consistently productive fantasy manager, has
- 23:37Speaker 1: been waiting for that since he was drafted decent rookie season,
- 23:40Speaker 1: but other than that has been a bust. This would
- 23:43Speaker 1: make him a fifteen million dollar tight end. Kendro is
- 23:46Speaker 1: this the right move or the wrong move for the
- 23:49Speaker 1: Falcons to give it a go once again at a
- 23:52Speaker 1: very high price for Kyle Pitts. I'm assuming that they're
- 23:55Speaker 1: going to try and work out something long term that
- 23:57Speaker 1: doesn't hit the cap as hard, but still he's going
- 23:59Speaker 1: to be a high paid tight end.
- 24:01Speaker 4: I think it's the right move.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Every position is getting more expensive these days, and what
- 24:05Speaker 5: we used to consider I think a dollar like the
- 24:08Speaker 5: ideal dollar amount for someone just is no longer realistic.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I've been feeling the same way about the running back
- 24:12Speaker 5: market right now. But I think it's the right move
- 24:15Speaker 5: for them, trying to keep the guys together, showing, you know,
- 24:18Speaker 5: these younger guys that are going to have contract extension
- 24:21Speaker 5: conversations in the next couple of years that if you
- 24:22Speaker 5: take care of us, we'll take care of you. And
- 24:25Speaker 5: I think that it's important for them to have big positions,
- 24:29Speaker 5: to have some continuity, and that means continuity on this
- 24:32Speaker 5: roster right now when there's so much else up in
- 24:34Speaker 5: the air.
- 24:34Speaker 4: So I think it's the right move.
- 24:37Speaker 1: This would put him in a category around like TJ. Hockinson,
- 24:43Speaker 1: Travis Kelcey, Trey McBride. Does this sound about right for
- 24:49Speaker 1: where Pitts is or is this more of a gamble stucky?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Now, I don't mind it. I think for the from
- 24:58Speaker 3: what he showed last year, and then for the Fanski offense,
- 25:01Speaker 3: is the fancy offense tight end very important and he's
- 25:05Speaker 3: kind of like a mix between, you know, a wide
- 25:09Speaker 3: receiver and a tight end. But I think he's going
- 25:12Speaker 3: to be super important to the offense, So yeah, I
- 25:17Speaker 3: don't I don't mind this move at all.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Second receptions eighty eight second receiving yards nine hundred and
- 25:23Speaker 1: twenty eight second in first downs for the Atlanta Falcons
- 25:27Speaker 1: was Kyle Pitts. So he's an important part of their offense,
- 25:30Speaker 1: like stuck, he said, perhaps even more important with Kevin
- 25:33Speaker 1: Stefanski now on board.
- 25:35Speaker 3: It looks I'd much rather have him than Travis to
- 25:39Speaker 3: ghost of Travis Kelce right now, I.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Think on that list, I think that's exactly why I
- 25:45Speaker 1: think there's so many question marks still with Kyle Pitts,
- 25:47Speaker 1: But it's all relative where is he in the pecking
- 25:51Speaker 1: order of tight ends even if he's a disappointment. There's
- 25:54Speaker 1: so many disappointing tight ends in the league. You kind
- 25:57Speaker 1: of just take your shot on a guy that hasn't
- 25:59Speaker 1: even hit his ceiling yet. And I think that has
- 26:01Speaker 1: a lot more to do with it.
- 26:02Speaker 5: I also think it's a position that's changed so much,
- 26:06Speaker 5: right Like if you look back at the tight end
- 26:08Speaker 5: position in the early two thousands, like it was a
- 26:10Speaker 5: primarily like blocking position or like a go up, get
- 26:13Speaker 5: over somebody and get the ball type of position. And
- 26:16Speaker 5: now you're blocking. You are you know, you're a number
- 26:20Speaker 5: one receiver in a lot of these offenses now because
- 26:22Speaker 5: these young quarterbacks love to rely on a consistent tight end.
- 26:26Speaker 5: The positions just changed so much that you almost have
- 26:28Speaker 5: to pay them like a receiver because a lot of
- 26:30Speaker 5: these guys are receivers who can block now, and.
- 26:34Speaker 1: We're not going to see this position reset in terms
- 26:37Speaker 1: of value until brock Bauers is up for a contract,
- 26:40Speaker 1: still a couple of years away from that. It looks
- 26:42Speaker 1: like Kenneth Walker is going to hit the open market
- 26:44Speaker 1: despite being a Super Bowl MVP. Seattle said that they're
- 26:49Speaker 1: not or the reports are that they're likely not going
- 26:51Speaker 1: to tag Kenneth Walker. This makes a lot more sense,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and this comes down to the same conversation, but in
- 26:56Speaker 1: the opposite end of it, if it's all relative for
- 26:59Speaker 1: Kyle Pitts, that maybe he's a disappointing tight end, but
- 27:02Speaker 1: in the hierarchy of tight ends in the NFL, he's
- 27:05Speaker 1: kind of towards the upper chelone of the list. Kenneth
- 27:08Speaker 1: Walker plays a position that you can easily replace, So
- 27:10Speaker 1: as good as he was, why would you want to
- 27:13Speaker 1: pay him average top five at the position when he's
- 27:16Speaker 1: not really that stucky. John Schneider deserve any flack for
- 27:21Speaker 1: letting their Super Bowl MVP walk.
- 27:23Speaker 2: It looks like that's going to happen here.
- 27:26Speaker 3: No, absolutely not. It's the right move. Never pay for
- 27:30Speaker 3: running backs and like it's not like the Seahawks were
- 27:36Speaker 3: an overly efficient rushing attack for most of the year. Yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 3: I had a good Super Bowl. Credit to him, Probably
- 27:45Speaker 3: get overpaid somewhere, But never pay for running backs. They're
- 27:48Speaker 3: so replaceable and you already have, you know, some depth
- 27:53Speaker 3: in your backfield, and you can get someone else cheap,
- 27:57Speaker 3: you can draft somebody. There's one of the biggest mistakes
- 28:01Speaker 3: that you can make is just taking one game and saying, oh,
- 28:04Speaker 3: super Bowl MVP and then paying someone I would know
- 28:07Speaker 3: as a Ravens fan, the we paid Flacco a ton
- 28:10Speaker 3: of money after he got Super Bowl MVP. It's hard
- 28:13Speaker 3: not to do that with a quarterback. Right like after
- 28:15Speaker 3: a quarterback as an epic run wins the Super Bowl,
- 28:19Speaker 3: wins Super Bowl MVP, it's hard to like not pay him.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Although the Ravens cut Dilfer after he won the Super Bowl,
- 28:25Speaker 3: but it's not like he had much to do with
- 28:27Speaker 3: the Super Bowl. But after Flacco's run, they paid him
- 28:30Speaker 3: and the Ravens heard him on elsewhere building out the roster,
- 28:34Speaker 3: So yeah, this is the right move. There's no need
- 28:37Speaker 3: to pay for Walker.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And he's probably he might even be the second best
- 28:44Speaker 1: running back on the team.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Kendra, I do worry though.
- 28:48Speaker 1: The idea for the Seattle Seahawks is, well, we have
- 28:51Speaker 1: Zach Sharboney Charbonay towards ACL late in the season and
- 28:56Speaker 1: I don't know when you're gonna get him back, so
- 28:59Speaker 1: that becomes part of the issue.
- 29:01Speaker 5: Yeah, but I think that it's a position that pretty
- 29:04Speaker 5: much the entire league has except for a few teams,
- 29:07Speaker 5: have figured out how to draft, and there's a the
- 29:09Speaker 5: where on a running back just is not worth that
- 29:12Speaker 5: price even heading into the season. I don't know if
- 29:15Speaker 5: you remember or you're like big into fantasy, but heading
- 29:17Speaker 5: into the season where you should draft both of them,
- 29:20Speaker 5: or where they were considered to be prior to the season,
- 29:24Speaker 5: it was pretty much equal, like fifty to fifty. I
- 29:26Speaker 5: think people expected them to share the snaps, but obviously
- 29:29Speaker 5: with that injury it changes things for next season, but.
- 29:32Speaker 4: They can draft at that position. It's I don't I
- 29:34Speaker 4: don't think it's a big deal.
- 29:35Speaker 5: I'm so pro never paying a running back, which is
- 29:37Speaker 5: why I'm okay if the Jaguars also let Etn walk Like.
- 29:41Speaker 5: He was a huge part of the Jaguars offense this year.
- 29:43Speaker 5: But I don't want to pay a running back that much.
- 29:47Speaker 3: I mean, Walkers only. I think he's gonna be what
- 29:49Speaker 3: twenty six this year, but he's all He's had an
- 29:51Speaker 3: injury history too.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So yeah, and he's had consistency issues too. It was
- 29:55Speaker 1: great in the playoffs for the most part, but I
- 29:59Speaker 1: think I'm okay with I don't like the black and
- 30:01Speaker 1: white argument that a lot of people have, and Kendrick
- 30:05Speaker 1: you just alluded to this as well. You can't pay
- 30:07Speaker 1: running backs, you can. They just have to be the
- 30:11Speaker 1: they have to be the best at their position.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Well, they have to be the finishing piece. Look at
- 30:16Speaker 4: the Eagles.
- 30:17Speaker 5: They could pay Saquon Barkley, but the rest of their
- 30:19Speaker 5: team was perfect before they did it, and they added
- 30:22Speaker 5: him as a finishing piece. That is the only time
- 30:25Speaker 5: that I'm pro paying a running back.
- 30:26Speaker 2: And even if that was the case for Seattle, I
- 30:30Speaker 2: don't think Kenneth.
- 30:30Speaker 5: Walker or mccaffreya McCaffrey, whatever the fuck you yeh, Derrick.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Henry changes your offense. Those kind of guys, they're in
- 30:37Speaker 1: a different category. Another bit of franchise tag news. George Pickens.
- 30:43Speaker 1: It looks like the Cowboys are leaning towards using the
- 30:46Speaker 1: franchise tag on him. Third most receiving yards amongst wide
- 30:49Speaker 1: receivers last year, talk about fantasy. This guy was perhaps
- 30:52Speaker 1: the steal of the draft. What I find odd though,
- 30:57Speaker 1: is that they have so much invested in this position already.
- 31:01Speaker 2: The Cowboys just I hate the way they allocate their funds.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It leads to this weird roster construction where they have
- 31:08Speaker 1: all these gaping holes, mostly on defense. Pickens is great,
- 31:15Speaker 1: but can you trust him to be great moving forward?
- 31:17Speaker 1: And are you now dumping too much money into the
- 31:20Speaker 1: wide receiver position, Kendrew or do you land on that
- 31:23Speaker 1: as far as them? And you know this is going
- 31:25Speaker 1: to drag into the off season, by the way, because
- 31:27Speaker 1: it's the Dallas Cowboys, this is going to be a
- 31:28Speaker 1: never ending saga.
- 31:30Speaker 4: I think it depends.
- 31:31Speaker 5: I don't know if it drags that far along, if
- 31:35Speaker 5: the conversation about Max Crosby and the Cowboys continues to happen,
- 31:40Speaker 5: because that's the attention that Jerry would prefer, so he
- 31:43Speaker 5: might get that out of the way. If that starts
- 31:45Speaker 5: to swirl more just so that that can be like
- 31:47Speaker 5: the main focus. I'm okay with paying receivers, especially because
- 31:52Speaker 5: when Dak is on, he's on, so I don't have
- 31:55Speaker 5: an issue with it. I hope it doesn't drag on
- 31:58Speaker 5: all season because the Cowboys really need to start prioritizing
- 32:00Speaker 5: taking care of their people because Jerry has had a
- 32:04Speaker 5: lot of not nice words said about him from prior players.
- 32:08Speaker 5: So I think that they probably won't let it drag
- 32:11Speaker 5: all off season because of the drama that they had
- 32:15Speaker 5: last time and the fact that some of these guys
- 32:17Speaker 5: they're going to want to stick around and they need
- 32:18Speaker 5: to stop pissing people off because Jerry's not going to
- 32:20Speaker 5: be around forever.
- 32:22Speaker 1: The only other team that has two wide receivers that
- 32:25Speaker 1: are paid like top ten guys are the Bengals. We
- 32:28Speaker 1: see what that did to the rest of their team.
- 32:31Speaker 1: They are I mean, they're built like an NBA jam squad.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Like if Burrow, Chase and Higgins and we kind of
- 32:38Speaker 1: hate everything else about the Cincinnati Bengals stuck, you would
- 32:41Speaker 1: you be in or out on the Cowboys giving the
- 32:44Speaker 1: bag to George Pickens when they've already invested in Ceedee Lamb.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I don't hate it. I mean, like they made so
- 32:50Speaker 3: many other blunders like that that's over the years with
- 32:54Speaker 3: Jerry Jones, that's really what has cost them. So now,
- 32:58Speaker 3: like with in the position that you're in, and you
- 33:01Speaker 3: mentioned the Bengals, like they're the NFC version of the Bengals,
- 33:04Speaker 3: Like the way that they are they're going to have
- 33:06Speaker 3: to try to win this year is by outscoring everyone,
- 33:10Speaker 3: stay healthy on offense. I mean, their offense was electric
- 33:13Speaker 3: last year when healthy, and I don't think they're gonna
- 33:16Speaker 3: be able to fix their defense overnight. So yeah, I
- 33:21Speaker 3: mean they're just gonna have to go out there and
- 33:23Speaker 3: try to outscore everyone and have an electric offense. So
- 33:27Speaker 3: I don't hate it. There's there's so many other issues
- 33:29Speaker 3: on the Cowboys that have led to this.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard to address those if you dump too
- 33:34Speaker 1: much money in one area.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But it does feel like.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Dallas has finally stumbled into excuse me, into a good
- 33:42Speaker 1: bargain and to let that go would uh potentially.
- 33:46Speaker 3: One of the best moves that they've made.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, but now they have to pay for it.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You know, it was it was good when it was cheap. No,
- 33:52Speaker 1: it's not so I don't know if you all know
- 33:54Speaker 1: this about us by now. I'm a Dolphins fan, Kendra
- 33:57Speaker 1: is a Jags backer, and Stucky is is a Raven
- 34:01Speaker 1: And so as we dip into the off season, we're
- 34:04Speaker 1: starting to think about what we want to see from
- 34:06Speaker 1: our favorite teams. We're going to deliver that right now,
- 34:09Speaker 1: our off season wish list for our favorite squads. I
- 34:16Speaker 1: will spend very little time on my Dolphins because I
- 34:18Speaker 1: don't think anybody wants to hear it. But kend just
- 34:21Speaker 1: go ahead and get us started with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 34:24Speaker 1: What do you want to see this offseason?
- 34:25Speaker 5: I already said that I'm fine letting etn walk just
- 34:29Speaker 5: because they have so many guys that they're going to
- 34:31Speaker 5: have to pay over the next couple of years that
- 34:33Speaker 5: I just can't justify the money on a running back
- 34:35Speaker 5: and they can draft at the position. So that is
- 34:40Speaker 5: one big thing that I'm looking at that I would
- 34:42Speaker 5: like to see happen. Just from a financial perspective, I'd
- 34:46Speaker 5: like to see Devin Lloyd cut the Jags a little
- 34:48Speaker 5: bit of a discount. But if you won't, good for him,
- 34:51Speaker 5: happy to let him go. Love you longtime? Mean it
- 34:53Speaker 5: you were.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Electric and my spider will forever be named after you.
- 34:57Speaker 5: But I don't think that they can overpay for him
- 34:59Speaker 5: beca Trayvon's going to be so expensive.
- 35:03Speaker 4: And I would like to see.
- 35:04Speaker 5: Them draft probably mostly secondary, maybe a backup running back
- 35:09Speaker 5: if this whole thing goes with the ETN And in
- 35:12Speaker 5: free agency, I would like to see probably a backup
- 35:17Speaker 5: quarterback of some sort.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Maybe you know what, maybe Malik Willis backup to Jacksonville.
- 35:21Speaker 5: He's going to get a starting job somewhere, which I
- 35:23Speaker 5: think is idiotic and insane and stupid and so dumb
- 35:27Speaker 5: and stupid, but NJA, Yeah, and then maybe maybe beef
- 35:33Speaker 5: up the offensive line a little bit. Thought shit was
- 35:35Speaker 5: getting scary for them for a while down the stretch.
- 35:37Speaker 4: So I think that those are my Yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I think if I were the jag if I were
- 35:42Speaker 1: advising the Jags, I would just say, just don't fuck
- 35:45Speaker 1: this up.
- 35:45Speaker 2: You have a good thing going lean into.
- 35:48Speaker 1: They've already sort of soft rolled this idea of you're
- 35:52Speaker 1: getting Travis Hunter back. That's like adding a player in
- 35:55Speaker 1: free agency. He wasn't part of this great run that
- 35:58Speaker 1: took them to the playoff. I think isolating him on
- 36:03Speaker 1: defense with wide receiver packages is the way to play
- 36:06Speaker 1: Travis Hunter, and it seems like they are starting to
- 36:09Speaker 1: lean in that direction.
- 36:10Speaker 4: They just didn't want to let people know what I
- 36:12Speaker 4: don't think.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I mean, they're said at wide receiver now though exactly
- 36:16Speaker 3: with Myers Kobe Washington emerged. They added Myers, you have PTJ,
- 36:20Speaker 3: so like you can just have them a couple guys.
- 36:22Speaker 4: But the BTJ rumors are spicy, So.
- 36:27Speaker 2: What are the rumors with him?
- 36:29Speaker 5: So there's a lot of conversations that, at least up here,
- 36:33Speaker 5: that he might be someone who teams are calling about
- 36:36Speaker 5: pretty consistently, just because clearly there was something off last year.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Team's probably think that they can get him on a bargain,
- 36:42Speaker 5: give him like a new you know, change of scenery.
- 36:45Speaker 4: That's just been the chatter. I that's kind of just
- 36:50Speaker 4: what I've heard.
- 36:51Speaker 5: I don't think he's going to go anywhere, but that
- 36:53Speaker 5: people appear seem to think that teams are calling about it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Yeah, if they trade him, I think that speaks volts
- 37:00Speaker 1: of how they believe about his ability to actually progress.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Yeah, they must think he's broken exactly.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Yeah, with Liam Cohen, I don't think you have to
- 37:10Speaker 3: worry about the offense. The defense is one of the
- 37:13Speaker 3: reasons that the Jags improved last year. But defense on
- 37:15Speaker 3: a year to year basis in the NFL is very
- 37:18Speaker 3: thick on a lot of variants. We see this all
- 37:20Speaker 3: the time, Like you go into a year and be
- 37:21Speaker 3: like this defense canna be good, and they fall off
- 37:23Speaker 3: a cliff. This defense is gonna be elite and they're
- 37:25Speaker 3: nowhere close to it. And the Jags obviously had a
- 37:28Speaker 3: huge rebound in turnovers, you know, from basically not getting
- 37:32Speaker 3: any one year to you know, having they were leading
- 37:36Speaker 3: the league through half the season. That could regress, you know,
- 37:40Speaker 3: you could lose Lloyd. I think the focus has to
- 37:43Speaker 3: be on the defensive side of the ball and just
- 37:47Speaker 3: reinforcing their defense to make sure that that fall off
- 37:52Speaker 3: isn't too steep.
- 37:55Speaker 5: But I feel like if Devin Lloyd leaves the Jags,
- 37:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to sacrifice like a big juicy worm
- 38:00Speaker 5: to my spider as like a this shit sucks.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but Hunter could provide that, like if he's able
- 38:07Speaker 3: to slide in a corner and you know, that's that
- 38:11Speaker 3: could be like you know, the first round pick that
- 38:12Speaker 3: they he basically didn't didn't get much of him last
- 38:15Speaker 3: year because of injury, and they don't have a first
- 38:17Speaker 3: round pick this year, so that could be like the
- 38:19Speaker 3: first round picking.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Not a bad year to not have one, though one
- 38:22Speaker 5: year shit so far back there and too I kind
- 38:24Speaker 5: of hate this draft class.
- 38:26Speaker 1: The draft classes is a little bit. It's definitely not
- 38:29Speaker 1: star studded verry Man.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Next year is going to be nuts though. Next year
- 38:34Speaker 5: is the year to have a good pick.
- 38:36Speaker 1: All right, I'll get the state of Florida over and
- 38:38Speaker 1: done with and then we'll kick it over to Stucky
- 38:40Speaker 1: for some Ravens chatterer. I think the Dolphins, this is
- 38:43Speaker 1: not going to be a fun offseason. You have to
- 38:45Speaker 1: strip this thing down to the studs. Tua has to go.
- 38:49Speaker 1: It creates too much of a distraction if you leave
- 38:52Speaker 1: him in the locker room just because you're gonna pay
- 38:54Speaker 1: him anyway. I just think they have to rip the
- 38:56Speaker 1: band aid off. New coach, new GM. They need a
- 39:00Speaker 1: new feel, and if he's on the roster, that becomes
- 39:04Speaker 1: the storyline all season long. I would say Malik willis
- 39:07Speaker 1: as dumb as Kendra thinks it is to Adam as
- 39:10Speaker 1: a starting quarterback for a team that's in rebuild mode.
- 39:12Speaker 1: But given the quarterback market, I actually think he's going
- 39:15Speaker 1: to be pretty expensive, Kendra, So I don't think the
- 39:18Speaker 1: Dolphins are in the market to outbid anybody at that
- 39:21Speaker 1: position when they're gonna pay someone one hundred million dollars
- 39:24Speaker 1: to walk out the door. It does fit the mold
- 39:27Speaker 1: of this whole Packers South thing. So you can definitely
- 39:31Speaker 1: connect the dots on Malik Willis to the Dolphins, but
- 39:34Speaker 1: I think they're gonna get outbid for him. The wish
- 39:36Speaker 1: list for them needs to be dull. They've tried the
- 39:39Speaker 1: flashy thing. It didn't work. They need to beef up
- 39:42Speaker 1: on the front line on both sides of the ball.
- 39:45Speaker 1: I want to see a bruising running back behind.
- 39:49Speaker 4: What they don't need.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Yeah, what don't lose games this year? That's what they need.
- 39:54Speaker 1: They don't need a run, they don't need a star
- 39:57Speaker 1: running back. There you go, Yes, I want to see them.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I want them to sign a bunch of offensive and
- 40:06Speaker 1: defensive linemen that I've never heard of and dump to
- 40:09Speaker 1: a there you go and sign of starter worthy quarterback.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't hate the idea of Kirk Cousins being in Miami.
- 40:16Speaker 1: They just need to make the operation more serious. Stuck you.
- 40:19Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 40:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Ravens, I mean, it's going to be an interesting offseason.
- 40:23Speaker 3: It's the first time Harrball is not running the show
- 40:26Speaker 3: in close to twenty years. And I mean, I like
- 40:30Speaker 3: what they've done with the staff, but there are there's
- 40:32Speaker 3: a lot of free agents that they have to figure
- 40:35Speaker 3: out who they want to bring back, who they're signing,
- 40:38Speaker 3: what they want to do with. But the biggest needs
- 40:40Speaker 3: by far on this team or in the trenches both
- 40:43Speaker 3: sides of the ball. You saw that this year. It's
- 40:47Speaker 3: the INTI your offensive line, and now what's going to
- 40:48Speaker 3: happen with linderbaund Like I think they came out today
- 40:50Speaker 3: and said they made him. They're not going to franchise
- 40:53Speaker 3: tag him, but they made them market setting offer. I
- 40:56Speaker 3: think is the terms that Tacosta use. But your guard
- 41:00Speaker 3: position is in flux maybe center, you're all pro center.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And then on the defensive side of the ball, that
- 41:07Speaker 3: is what killed them all year. It's they need to
- 41:09Speaker 3: fortify the trenches. I know they had injuries, but the
- 41:12Speaker 3: pass rush just isn't there. They edge rush, edge rush,
- 41:15Speaker 3: edge rush. It's like those are the two things that
- 41:17Speaker 3: I'm focused on as a Ravens fan and hope the
- 41:19Speaker 3: organization is focused on is into your offensive line, get
- 41:23Speaker 3: that short up and then find an edge rush because
- 41:27Speaker 3: you didn't have one. And if you can't get pressure
- 41:30Speaker 3: on opposing quarterbacks in today's NFL, you're not going anywhere.
- 41:36Speaker 3: So the ability to generate pressure without having to blitz
- 41:41Speaker 3: is it gives you such an upper hand in everything
- 41:45Speaker 3: that you can do. And you know, we saw that
- 41:47Speaker 3: with the Seahawks who won the Super Bowl. The Ravens
- 41:51Speaker 3: had zero ability to do that last year and their
- 41:54Speaker 3: edge rush is severely lacking. So yeah, I want to
- 41:57Speaker 3: see them four to five the middle of the offensive
- 41:59Speaker 3: line and improve their defensive line, specifically find edge rushers
- 42:08Speaker 3: and I don't care where they come from, draft, pre
- 42:12Speaker 3: agency trades. They need they need to make a splash there.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Those are the two areas that and then special teams
- 42:18Speaker 3: are a question. They haven't been a question for a
- 42:19Speaker 3: long long time, but there's some questions that need to
- 42:22Speaker 3: be answered there. But to two areas I'm focused on
- 42:24Speaker 3: INTOI your offensive line and edge rush.
- 42:29Speaker 1: All right, Hey, we're both trying to beef up the
- 42:31Speaker 1: D line. They add jesse Mentor as the new head coach.
- 42:34Speaker 1: So clearly there's going to be an extra some extra
- 42:38Speaker 1: attention given to the defensive side of the ball for
- 42:40Speaker 1: the Ravens.
- 42:42Speaker 2: The offensive side.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I've been waiting for years for Lamar Jackson to just
- 42:46Speaker 1: have a legit wr one and still they haven't found
- 42:52Speaker 1: one for him.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Is that something that you want to see?
- 42:54Speaker 1: And they're likely going to lose Isaiah likely, so it's
- 42:57Speaker 1: another receiving option that's out the door.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, but when healthy, I mean their offense
- 43:02Speaker 3: hasn't been an issue. I mean they for two years
- 43:05Speaker 3: they had like the they were the best offense in
- 43:08Speaker 3: the league when everyone was healthy. But the offensive line
- 43:12Speaker 3: was the issue this year. But to your point, you know,
- 43:16Speaker 3: one of their strengths is that they they would they
- 43:20Speaker 3: used a lot of two tight end packages and you
- 43:23Speaker 3: know they used the full back in a card and
- 43:25Speaker 3: he's a free agent, so like, what is their tight
- 43:27Speaker 3: end room going to look like? And Andrew Andrews is
- 43:29Speaker 3: not getting any younger, so like, this offense is going
- 43:32Speaker 3: to look completely different and the personnel is going to
- 43:38Speaker 3: look different. So in that case, you could make a
- 43:42Speaker 3: case that you should upgrade the wide receiver position. But
- 43:48Speaker 3: I do think there are more pressing needs, which is
- 43:51Speaker 3: the interier offensive line and the ad drush.
- 43:53Speaker 1: On defense, Kendrew, where would you spend your money if
- 43:57Speaker 1: you were the Ravens, you would you help Lamar or
- 44:00Speaker 1: would you help the other side?
- 44:02Speaker 4: I would probably go defense first.
- 44:04Speaker 5: You have the guy who's gonna sell the tickets, you
- 44:06Speaker 5: have the quarterback.
- 44:07Speaker 4: But if you want to win anything, you got to
- 44:09Speaker 4: beef up.
- 44:09Speaker 2: The d.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Perhaps the title of the episode dr Hey, before we
- 44:17Speaker 1: get out of here, Evan, what's your off season wish
- 44:21Speaker 1: list for your New York Giants?
- 44:23Speaker 6: I mean, I guess another wide receiver for Dart. Also,
- 44:25Speaker 6: let's get Dart through some like drills where he doesn't
- 44:28Speaker 6: get murdered in the first few games of the regular season,
- 44:31Speaker 6: because that's just going to toss everything out the window.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Yes, Evan, your wish list should be one of those big.
- 44:37Speaker 6: Quarter wish list is really just my wish list is
- 44:40Speaker 6: really just let's put bumpers on the field. That's what
- 44:43Speaker 6: I'm looking for. Let's let's bowl with bumpers. Honestly, I
- 44:46Speaker 6: would look to Stuck as Harbaugh. He knows Harbaugh more
- 44:49Speaker 6: than I do, so I mean I assume he's gonna
- 44:52Speaker 6: try to build this team similar to how he did Baltimore,
- 44:55Speaker 6: because it's kind of what he knows. Dart has some
- 44:58Speaker 6: similarities to Lamar. I just think, you know, one, we
- 45:01Speaker 6: need some wide receiver help would be probably the first
- 45:04Speaker 6: thing I would look to. And then I mean, the
- 45:06Speaker 6: defense has always looked good, so I think maybe beefing
- 45:10Speaker 6: up the offensive line hoping he stays in the pocket
- 45:12Speaker 6: a little bit longer would be an avenue I would
- 45:14Speaker 6: look towards. But you assume Washington's going to be better
- 45:17Speaker 6: this year, Dallas is going to improve, and Philly's going
- 45:20Speaker 6: to be Philly, so that Division A can be easy.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I cannot find any Google images of a quarterback wearing
- 45:26Speaker 1: the Guardian cap anywhere else but training camp. Well, sure
- 45:31Speaker 1: that Jackson Dart should be the first one. I mean
- 45:33Speaker 1: it should have been to it, but obviously he chose
- 45:36Speaker 1: not to do that. So before we go Thursday, we
- 45:40Speaker 1: have a call to our audience. Here we're going to
