Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Hey, welcome to the para what debate or at this point para what WTF.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: We'll just go with that.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: Uh tonight I'm joined by Rita, Jude, and Stephanie as the moderator.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: We're putting it all on the table tonight the drama, the equipment, chasing clicks, the evidence, the debunkers, and all the BS in between.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: We all say what we want in this field to move forward.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: But how and how are we gonna get there?
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: That's what we want to answer.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: And we want you to in that conversation also.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: So challenge us, bring your questions, and let's get this going.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Stephanie, pleasure all as always.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: Jude, welcome to the show.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: And Rita, thanks for joining us also.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: We're gonna get into this.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: This debate is not pretty much against ourselves, like some of the debates have been.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: It's against everybody out there, and us included.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: And I do have some thoughts on it, but Stephanie always comes with good questions.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: We'll get right into this bad boy.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 0:58SPEAKER_03: So do you guys think uh paranormal investigating is more about content than actually finding answers?
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: Am I go first?
- 1:07SPEAKER_04: You know, I think I think it's for me, it's answers.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Um, because I investigate, I've experienced paranormal all my life.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: I so I have a I have a different reason for doing it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: And um my I kind of consider it my mission mission statement.
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: But then when you go online, in fact, I don't watch a lot of paranormal things online um just because it is about the content.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: And um unfortunately, I'm you know, it's like I just wasted another yet another minute or two of my life watching, you know, a camera go down a dark hall with scary music and and absolutely nothing.
- 1:47SPEAKER_04: Why, why it it's you know, they they want to have that gotcha or that jump scare or so yeah, so it's you know, as much as I'd like it to be for everyone about about why, you know, why why you feel like you're drawn to it because different people are drawn to it for different reasons.
- 2:07SPEAKER_04: Um, I I you know, I unfortunately you just have a lot of people out there that are are doing it for the clicks and doing it for the content.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: And, you know, and I see some of these teams and they're like, I I feel like it's like I a lot of you know what I've noticed, a lot of it is being drawn more towards like teenagers also, and you know, and that gotcha content or that content that really doesn't isn't content.
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: Does that make sense?
- 2:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Judy up.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I was gonna say the same thing to piggyback off you talking about music and videos, it's just like let the evidence speak for itself, right?
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm here to like see some stuff that's like otherworldly.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Uh, for me, it's definitely about the investigation because I've been on and off about 21 years.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: So recently, over a little over a year now, I've been back in the field, and I it it just feels so good to get like the excitement again from like being touched or hearing something or just trying to debunk what you actually felt.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Is it actually fear?
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Is it you know, just your mind playing tricks on you?
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: But uh I wish that people could just kind of come together more or less and just not put music in videos.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know, for me, like that bothers me for some reason.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: But I mean, I'm I don't know, I'm all about the investigation, I'm all about trying different things too, because I mean I'm still like learning again, like reborn again, so to speak, in the in the field.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: So I don't know if to me it's about having fun and having uh finding some good answers.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean it's a lot was said there, both of you.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: I agree with both of you.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: I'm finding the issue is if you go to these paracons, which Rico you just did, you go talk to these other groups face to face, and they're all in it for the same reason.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: That's all they say.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: We want answers.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: But then they come out, throw some BS videos up on TikTok, and so they're not.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: But if you face to face do a poll, why are you in this?
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: 100% of us are in it for answers, which is all garbage.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: We're they're not.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I kind of broke it down like three different types of people that are in this field entertainers, which is your TV shows, investigators, and people who are just in it for the clicks.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: And you talk about young people, well, that's how they grew up on social media.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: They grew up watching certain people, and that's what they like.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're they're in it for the clicks.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Do they go out and enjoy investigating, having fun with their friends?
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the jump scares.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Yes, and that's fine by me.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: But don't go out there and brag how you got this evidence when it's definitely AI or your friend in a spooky mask running down that corridor, you know?
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: So yes, I think the majority are still out there for the content, not for the content, but for the evidence and the experience.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: But it only takes two or three percent to ruin this whole field.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: And I think that's what we're seeing right now, which is a small majority of people.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Um tearing us apart.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: And you know, a lot of it's uh I'm sorry if I'm going out of turn.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: A lot of it's financially driven too, because you know, you get you get money from, you know, enough social media, likes and clicks.
- 5:39SPEAKER_04: However, I mean, I make like a few, I call it a few pennies every month.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: But I a perfect example is I had someone come on one of my investigations, and the next day they were like, oh, well, what's the cheapest equipment I can get?
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: And then within a week, they're all of a sudden their wife was a psychic medium and they were doing dowsing rod sessions for money online, and then they were doing it for the money.
- 6:04SPEAKER_04: But you get these people that think that all of a sudden I can make a buck off of, you know, off of really taking advantage of vulnerable people because a lot of people that send in that money or are asking that questions have something not great going on in life.
- 6:21SPEAKER_04: But um, but yeah, that's what you get.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: It's a lot of it is money driven, you know, and people want that that quick hit of it.
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: And that, you know, and unfortunately, people will take advantage of people, which is which is sad.
- 6:35SPEAKER_04: It's really sad.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: This goes both ways though.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: Like, so who's to blame?
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: The fake people that are making money off of it or the people that actually believe them.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: I was gonna say the same thing.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: You're absolutely right.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: But again, I think when people are in vulnerable situations, um, they sometimes they don't make, you know, their mind, their decision making can be a little clouded because they want the best to happen.
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: I'll give you a perfect example.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: So this person with the dousing rod, but one of the questions, a woman asked a question, will my husband be okay if he stops his cancer treatment?
- 7:11SPEAKER_04: And she answered yes.
- 7:14SPEAKER_04: So, you know, so that's like, you know, when you have someone that's in that situation that is um, or someone asked, is my girlfriend's is my girlfriend pregnant?
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: Well, what if he what if he was thinking that she was pregnant by someone else?
- 7:31SPEAKER_04: I mean, my gosh, that could have just been a horrific disaster.
- 7:36SPEAKER_04: So um So yeah, I there is there blame on both sides, absolutely.
- 7:41SPEAKER_04: But again, people who who take advantage of people in vulnerable situations, those to me are kind of like kind of what you scrape off your shoe at the end of the day.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: I mean, I understand.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: I know there's people out there that just they actually know their fake, but they're just looking for that answer that they want to hear.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: And that's human nature.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: We're just always looking.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, my mom had cancer and it was terminal, but you know, my family still had hope.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: You know, that's that's what they're looking for.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: But yeah, the for another person that's not in the medical field to tell them is BS.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: But you know, the ones that I watched it the other night, I tell everybody, you want to laugh, just go on TikTok tonight and watch the people with the dowsing rods.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: They crack me up.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: I shit spinning around in circles, you know, and uh, you know, is my boyfriend gonna break up with me?
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: No, you probably got dumped that night because you're watching this video and asking stupid questions, you know.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: I dump you, man.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Anyone else got anything to say about this topic?
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, like, you know, money is the root of all evil.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: So, and we also live in an age too where like the internet is so driven, so like everyone kind of like you know, keyboard warriors slash like uh they just feel that like they're not not to say that someone's voice doesn't need to be heard, but a lot of people have that, like, hey, I need to be heard, and they put false ideas or false evidence up, and they feel entitled, they feel entitled to talk about something they don't know.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: Somebody in that desperate situation in life, and they and you and it's like okay, like you're down mentally and you're drained, and you're like, Wow, this person might have the answer for me, and then like people get scammed into things, and it's just not okay, just gotta stop.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: I don't just be a human, don't don't do that stuff.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: Do you think uh jealousy is becoming a real problem when teams get opportunities, locations, or television appearances or just recognition in general?
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: Am I first sound of fun?
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Uh we'll let you go first this time.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: I know I didn't know how we were doing like round robining yet.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's hey I'm I'm I'm down for whatever.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Um, I I do believe there is, uh, just based on the fact from when I used to investigate, okay, years ago.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, you're going into places that are like you have to like kind of either know somebody or you're trespassing.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Not that you should be trespassing, but back in the day, that's kind of the only way you can get into some places.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Now, fast forward to nowadays, everyone is just so like gung-ho on like, you know, this is my investigation, this is like how I want to do this, and we're gonna do it this way, and and this is my answers, I know this.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Like, it's a lot of I know, I know, I know instead of like I believe.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, I mean that's that's kind of how I feel about it.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: I'll just go last every time, that's fine.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: So, you know, so two things there the I know, I know, I know.
- 10:48SPEAKER_04: And I can't, I really it's so frustrating when you have um these these investigators pontificating about well, this is how you should do this, and this is how you should do that, and this is how you and if you don't do it this way, it's not the right way.
- 11:04SPEAKER_04: And you know, and I always want to tell them, and you can just kiss my ass too, because one of we have a paraphilosophy that we go by, and one of one of our you know, mottos in it is everyone experiences the paranormal differently.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: Now, do I have do I do I believe that everything that everyone experiences is paranormal?
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: No, no, but um that's not my place to dispute someone's having an experience of some sort, be it physical, be it mental, be it whatever.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: Um, so yeah, when you have these people telling you how you have to do it, like jealousy thing.
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, absolutely.
- 11:41SPEAKER_04: I know uh you said you you didn't have a problem talking about Zach Bagan.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: So we filmed with Destination Fear and we filmed twice with Ghost Adventures.
- 11:51SPEAKER_04: And I was thrilled when they came out to the little city of Globe that no one knew about.
- 11:56SPEAKER_04: And one of the things was kept trying to like like make them go down the road of let's keep this real.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: And they even said it was the second most haunted location um that they had been to since the Goldfield Hotel.
- 12:10SPEAKER_04: So that made me happy.
- 12:11SPEAKER_04: Uh, and it was it was great.
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: They got some great evidence, they didn't like it, and um, so I I really enjoyed that.
- 12:18SPEAKER_04: But after that happened, I went from being the team that everyone wanted to collaborate with to you know, some people like really hating on me, really hating on me.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: And and it was a lot of work because I pushed out these locations and had to send schematics and had to send evidence and things like that.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: So, but I'll tell you, I I mean, I've had people go after me, I've had them, you know, just leaving horrific comments, uh, trolling me.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: Uh, there's one team out of Tucson.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: They're, I mean, it the just the nasty, nasty things that they write.
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: And it's like I finally had to threaten legal action because they were using my name, saying, contact me, we're gonna tell you who she is and where she's at.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: I mean, this it gets serious.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: It gets really, really serious.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: And it all started because they thought that they should have been the team that investigated that location.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Why is it so territorial?
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: Like I don't I think it's weird.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: I think it's weird behavior because for me, I don't have a team.
- 13:22SPEAKER_03: I run a paranormal event company.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: And when I open up a new location, which I have several here in Ohio, you know, I dictate whether it's gonna be a private investigation or publics only.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: And if I put out there that this is publics only, you should see the little crybabies in my comment section.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: But yet here they are commenting their own little opinions on my post that they have nothing or no clue about.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: And they never will because they're always gonna be stuck in that little bubble of jealousy and they're never gonna grow because they're always gonna be worried about what everybody else is doing and how they can't control it.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: And they can't, you're right, you're absolutely right.
- 13:59SPEAKER_04: You gotta think, what do I need to do to make this happen and put in the work, not just, oh, I don't like the baby and they don't deserve it.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: They they don't put in work, there's they're constantly, like I said, they're in a bubble watching everybody else instead of expanding their mind and getting along with each other and learning from each other.
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: They're too worried about what you're doing because they didn't get it in time.
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: And they would have they're never gonna come up with something like that.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: So I just don't know why we're all fighting and doing this.
- 14:28SPEAKER_03: It really doesn't make sense to me.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: I think jealousy is a huge factor in it.
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: I think people really need to get over themselves because, like you said, everybody has a different way in the paranormal dowsing rods not might not be for you, or Estes might not be for you, but that doesn't mean anything.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, I think it's hard for people to like get the gravity of a situation and just take a minute and breathe before you like speak, you know.
- 14:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it don't if it doesn't have to do with you, then why are you saying anything at all?
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes I make silly jokes and stuff like that, but I'm not like harassing somebody, you know, like there's there are boundaries and lines that don't need to be crossed.
- 15:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, it's it's bad.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: Can you repeat the last question?
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Okay, um, what was it?
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: I think it was about jealousy.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: All right, so it's jealous is a human nature.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, everybody's always jealous of something.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: So do I blame people?
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: No, not a little bit.
- 15:27SPEAKER_02: You know, a little bit I do, but a lot I don't.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: But the thing is, like, a lot of us would love to be like the destination fear, the people that are making a living out what we love doing.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, you got Mandy Ghost's sister, she does it for a living.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: She goes out there every day.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, sh you see Paula Paranormal, I don't know how many miles she puts on her car, but she's in a different state every day.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, we would love to do that for a living.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: But the issue comes in is where it's easier to knock someone else down and put the hard work in and bring yourself up.
- 16:02unknown: Yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: And I get it with the podcast.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: People are like, well, how come you have you know this, this, and this?
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: How can you get this guest?
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: Because I put the time in, I put the effort in, and I work 40 hours a week on this freaking podcast because I want it to be successful.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna go out there and rip other podcasts just so I look better.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: I I love all the podcasts.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's more coming on show.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, I always invite all the podcasts on a show.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: I always like all their stuff because I know the work they put in is very hard.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: And just like event companies, investigators, as long as you work at it, hard at it, you're gonna be successful.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: And there's gonna be downtimes where you're gonna doubt yourself because it sucks.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: But you know, get back to what you're doing it for.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: I exactly.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, I started two years ago with haunted havens, and I worked for the biggest paranormal names there is Sam and Colby.
- 16:56SPEAKER_03: They have Netflix now, and you can like them, you can hate them.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: I really don't care.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: But guess what?
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: I worked my ass off, and I didn't even know who they were.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: So, exactly what you said, you put in the work to get results, period.
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: Point blank.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm not with it.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Where's the big easy?
- 17:16SPEAKER_04: I never heard of that in my life.
- 17:19SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: I texted Stephanie, I'm like, I'm going to the big easy.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: She's like, Where's that?
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Like, really?
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Stephanie, I was laughing too because I didn't know that as well.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: So, you know, you're not a woman.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: I know he said it to me, and I'm like, uh, dude, uh I'm gonna be honest, I don't know, man.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: I thought it was like an assign asylum or something.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: I was like, what is he talking about?
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: All right, next question.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: So I forgot the question I was gonna ask that was trailing into what you're talking about earlier.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: Um do you think that if you're like if you have a lot of followers, do you think that more people are willing to look at a bogus video and say, oh no, that's real because they have a good reputation online versus a new group that has solid evidence, and you have all these little, you know, commenters saying, Oh, that's fake, that's fake because they just started.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: But then you have these popular people that you can tell it's clearly fake, but everybody thinks that it's real.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: Do you think that their popularity plays into that?
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'll go with this one.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Um, I think it goes both ways.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: So, because what's big right now?
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Debunkers, right?
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's what's huge.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Now everybody wants to be a debunker because one guy made a famous, and good for him.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Like, I've had it, dude.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: But now everybody's trying to be him.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: And guess what?
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: You're not, okay.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: So the people that have a lot of followers, now these people are coming out and trying to debunk them because they think they're gonna be this popular YouTuber, which you're not.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: I would keep saying that, you're not.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Um he made his own thing and he does very well at it.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Agree with them or don't agree with them.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: So now everybody's trying to knock down the big people because they want to get their name out there.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: And I think the people with less followers are not getting hit as much now because everybody's focusing on the big people because they're trying to get they're just trying to make a name for themselves.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: And I talked about this before you know, it's it's sad when a debunker wants to debunk every single freaking video out there.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: Then go on investigation and post their stuff and say it's not fake.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everybody else is just fake besides yours, because you know, you're freaking ghost god, you know.
- 19:44SPEAKER_03: I I agree.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: If people comment on my TikToks, because you know, I don't do YouTube or anything, I just post little clips and things that I catch because most of the time I don't even videotape on my investigations.
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: I just like to take it in.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: I know it's real, I don't need all that hardcore evidence, right?
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: All right, June.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: You haven't spoken a while.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Speak up.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Hey, hey Steph, can you repeat that question?
- 20:07SPEAKER_03: Uh I was saying, I was saying if you have a popular uh person in the paranormal field, and then you have newbies in the field, and you can clearly tell that um these popular people are fake as hell, but the new people are posting their stuff and they have real content, they're being bashed why these people are being praised because of their popularity.
- 20:33unknown: Okay.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think a lot of people would go with, you know, who is known online and look at their videos.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm I was guilty of it at first, like getting back into the field.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm like, oh, let me see what these guys have.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: I'm like, they have a lot of followers.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: But then I started like going and clicking on other videos because like after going on investigations again and trying to like formulate, like, okay, what do I feel is is is valid evidence right now in a lot of these videos.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So um I'm still learning again, you know, I'm always open to uh different, just different anything, honestly.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, via like investigating, via like asking questions or or ways of doing things, like I'm open to it.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: So you're up right now.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, you know, and again, I'm like I said, I try not to get too caught up in the paranormal videos that all the music and everything like that.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: You know, people are gonna see the bigger, they're gonna see the bigger pages, the ones with more followers first, right?
- 21:41SPEAKER_04: Because that's just gonna make it that gets into that algorithm and it it's gonna come up on it's gonna come up on their page.
- 21:48SPEAKER_04: They're gonna have more opportunity to see it.
- 21:50SPEAKER_04: You do get those not so much.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm good with people debunking what I've got.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: I love a good debate.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: My only requirement is that you be respectful.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: On it.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: You cannot believe.
- 22:02SPEAKER_04: And I tell people this on my investigations too.
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: I say who's had a paranormal investigation, who's like not really sure about it, and who just doesn't believe in it.
- 22:11SPEAKER_04: And guess what?
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: That's okay.
- 22:13SPEAKER_04: It's not my job to make you believe.
- 22:16SPEAKER_04: I I tend not to make comments just because then I have to deal with them commenting back.
- 22:21SPEAKER_04: And I don't.
- 22:23SPEAKER_04: I don't I really don't have time to deal with these like back and forth things with people.
- 22:30SPEAKER_04: I just kind of, you know, even if they say something I might now, if it's something nasty, I block them because one of the rules is you have to be respectful.
- 22:38SPEAKER_04: You can you can disagree all you want.
- 22:40SPEAKER_04: That's fine.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: That is fine.
- 22:42SPEAKER_04: But if you if you get nasty or disrespectful, you get blocked.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I use that block button freely.
- 22:49unknown: Yeah, so do I.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna throw this up there.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: I will answer this.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: No reason for anybody else to go into it.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: This is from UDEG money.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Um, first of all, he said, but why this is when we're talking about places, um, privates and everything, publics, but why?
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: You don't need to rent a location just to open up an event for ghost hunting.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: False.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: I will debunk that right now.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: Yes, you do, because if you're an investigator, you know that you have to run it.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that whole statement there doesn't even make sense to me.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you did it to make money, no other reason.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: That's why people are bad.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: No one is jealous.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: Now, the jealousy, we weren't talking about them running a business because that's what they are running, Rita and Stephanie.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: This is their livelihood, this is their career.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: Yes, they did it to make money.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: If you do not like it, don't go.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: If you don't want to pay the money, don't go.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: If I don't want to go to a Steelers game because I hate them, I'm not gonna buy a ticket.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, it's simple.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: If I don't want to pay for it, or I don't want to go, or it's too expensive, don't go.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: That and sorry Ryan, I'm gonna say lacking the knowledge of what it actually takes to actually like run the business, like the licenses, the insurances that you need.
- 24:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, LLC.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: So there's that and the entitlement, like you said.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: So let's go.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: Next question.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we better before I freaking job this freaking podcast.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Okay, who gets to decide what makes someone a press professional paranormal investigator when there is no official certification?
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Um by professional is you get paid to do a job.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh so that's I guess I'm professional.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: I am not professional.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Um I mean, by definition, yeah.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, but yeah, they're your professional event planner for exactly.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: I don't think you can be a professional ghost hunter.
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: You can't.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: No, you can't.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: Any other I you know this goes to that whole, I'm gonna I'm gonna go off on a tangent here a little bit, the whole um thing.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: And I remember I was commenting on your one of your uh, Ryan, one of your posts, and that's how we got to talking was about demonologists.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: And let me tell you, yeah, there that's just a sore subject with me because guess what?
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: I had to go and I had to get a degree and I had to sit for boards and I had to get licensed and I had to do all these things to have the it.
- 25:38SPEAKER_04: They're a pist at the end of my title.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: And it's like, you know, it's it's like the again, it's like the wild west out there.
- 25:46SPEAKER_04: People can do whatever they want to do, and they're like, Well, I I took an online course for you know three hours, so I'm a demonologist, and it's it's not um another story for another day, though, right?
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: But uh what you're saying is like again, what I came back, people have to work for it instead of going to a library and writing the ABCs of demonology and saying they're demonologists because they read a damn book.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: It's a lot, yeah, like you know, yeah, cultural competencies and things like that.
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's just a lot, you know, knowing theologies, yeah, there's a lot that I everyone who tells me that they're a demonologist has like, well, let's talk about how many religions do you know about?
- 26:26SPEAKER_04: Whole different story for another day, though.
- 26:28SPEAKER_04: But you know, I think with someone when you say professional, it is how you because you can have someone, let's take me as a therapist, licensed therapist.
- 26:38SPEAKER_04: I would, I would, I've worked with some that I wouldn't consider professional, yet they still have a license.
- 26:43SPEAKER_04: My thoughts are becoming a charger.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: Okay, it's all how you handle yourself and how you approach what you're doing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: And because like the people that go in and that are, you know, rattling their whatever across the cell doors, or you know, like being disrespectful to the spirits or disrespectful to the locations, or then you're not you're not behaving professionally.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: Um, and you can have people that are that don't even get evidence, but they have the people around them get it just because of how they handle the investigation.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: So be a professional and anti-professional are two different things.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, yeah, there's not a professional title.
- 27:26SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I is there are there any regulations?
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: There are no regulations.
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: It's not it's not a regulated field.
- 27:34SPEAKER_04: That's why you have people online with their dowsing rods.
- 27:37SPEAKER_04: Now, do you want it regulated?
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: No.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: 99.9% people would say absolutely not.
- 27:43SPEAKER_04: And so that's just how can you regulate it?
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Can you regulate it?
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, as a field, we can.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: All right, we can call their bullshit out.
- 27:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but that would that would involve standardized rules and regulations to be followed.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: And don't even get me started on paraunity because that's a blanket term for everyone putting up with everyone else's bullshit.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's why I called my show paranormal disunity.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: Because it's like the the the biggest offenders are the first to say paraunity this, paraunity that.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: I guess it comes down to like like you were saying, like, there's a there's a lot of self-proclaimed people out there, and the internet is such like a power-driven tool nowadays.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: People used to watch television all the time, and not everybody had television, so to speak, like you know, certain like channels to watch like ghost hunting on and stuff like that.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Now it's just so much easier to like go online and say, hey, I'm a demonologist, or you know, not saying, you know, to psychic mediums and stuff like that.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think a lot a lot of them are BS, but there are some that are real.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: But it's a lot easier to say, hey, I am this and I am that without having any accountability on like, are you actually this?
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: But also, but I'm gonna say people don't it's easy a lot easier for people to fake stuff because like getting back to earlier, you catch somebody that's in like a certain situation, and and someone's self-pro proclaiming, like, I I can I can tell you your future, and someone's like, Okay, like uh I'm I'm here, like you know, let me reach out, and then like I think a lot of things get built up off of like fake stuff, and then like it's hard to tell, like who's real and who's not, but we know, but I mean it like we said, catching somebody in a bad situation, and then like you know, there's a following that's built from that, but
