- 0:00Speaker 1: Uh, Man, I gotta tell you, it's not often an
- 0:03Speaker 1: artist comes in with hype that has already carried them
- 0:06Speaker 1: through the door. But there's some there's some hype around this.
- 0:08Speaker 2: You're feeling it, Brandon, what's.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Up, brother?
- 0:10Speaker 2: How are you? I'm doing great, man, I'm living on
- 0:13Speaker 2: a high. Just so stoked to be here, honored.
- 0:15Speaker 3: It's a really fun week and we've had already had
- 0:18Speaker 3: some amazing moments this week here in Nashville.
- 0:20Speaker 1: So we're gonna talk hard fought Hollelujah. It's it's a
- 0:23Speaker 1: song that I randomly heard of before the before jelly
- 0:28Speaker 1: really and yeah, and and so there's so much I
- 0:31Speaker 1: want to ask you, because I want to start with
- 0:35Speaker 1: all this started because you were a pastor at one point. Yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: it's funny like saying that. I guess technically I am
- 0:42Speaker 1: and I operate is one. I grew up in the
- 0:45Speaker 1: church and my dad's a pastor.
- 0:48Speaker 3: And uh, I fell in love with music, and you know,
- 0:51Speaker 3: started playing guitar mainly just because I wanted to, you know,
- 0:53Speaker 3: get a girlfriend. But then I as I started leading
- 0:56Speaker 3: worship at a young age, I fell in love with
- 0:59Speaker 3: like seeing people connect to these songs and ultimately connecting
- 1:02Speaker 3: with God and finding faith in music, and so yeah,
- 1:07Speaker 3: I kind of like ended up becoming like a worship leader,
- 1:10Speaker 3: a worship pastor. I grew up in the church and
- 1:13Speaker 3: I've just had the most amazing experience with church and
- 1:15Speaker 3: so it's felt the call of God to keep serving
- 1:18Speaker 3: people in that way through music. And so yeah, yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 3: you could say I'm a pastor and artist, songwriter, all
- 1:25Speaker 3: the things.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask you a very challenging question of mediology.
- 1:29Speaker 1: This is gonna be real deep, it's not gonna be
- 1:31Speaker 1: like so explain to me. No, But once you learned
- 1:36Speaker 1: that you had an ability to songwrite, play guitar, put
- 1:40Speaker 1: these things together, right, Yeah, why was it important for
- 1:43Speaker 1: you to not lose the religion part? Because as you
- 1:47Speaker 1: continue to make music, right, yeah, it's you're adding an
- 1:51Speaker 1: extra layer of challenge because not only are you trying
- 1:54Speaker 1: to create music and get yourself in front of people,
- 1:57Speaker 1: your music has a message. It's more than just here's
- 2:01Speaker 1: another beer drinking yeah yeah, right, my truck.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, which, by the.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Way, beer drinking and trucks drunks driving, I don't know.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Leave those things separated.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But yeah, but but it adds an extra challenge to
- 2:14Speaker 1: getting yourself in front of a new audience.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it does.
- 2:17Speaker 1: You could easily leave the religion part out and just
- 2:20Speaker 1: try and make music. Yeah, why was it important for
- 2:23Speaker 1: you to be like, no, I'm gonna do this my way.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I think so many people have such a bad taste
- 2:28Speaker 3: in their mouth when it comes to religion that maybe
- 2:30Speaker 3: I have felt a responsibility to try to change that
- 2:33Speaker 3: narrative and go no, like God is good and we're
- 2:36Speaker 3: all messed up.
- 2:37Speaker 2: And we all need God.
- 2:39Speaker 3: And uh, I think you said it yourself, like my
- 2:41Speaker 3: songs carry maybe a deeper message or one that's gonna
- 2:47Speaker 3: get you through the hardest of times. And and honestly, dude,
- 2:52Speaker 3: I don't even know that if I tried to do
- 2:55Speaker 3: anything different, if I could, at just the call, it
- 2:58Speaker 3: feels too strong. And that's where I found my purpose
- 3:01Speaker 3: and I don't want to get outside of that. I
- 3:04Speaker 3: don't think there's anything wrong with some fun songs and
- 3:07Speaker 3: break up songs and all that.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I write those too, But the ones I feel.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Most called to share with the world are the ones
- 3:13Speaker 3: that are gonna help people to live another day and
- 3:16Speaker 3: know why they're living another day, that there's someone bigger
- 3:20Speaker 3: that has a plan for their life. And sometimes that's
- 3:23Speaker 3: really on the nose and it's like a churchy song,
- 3:25Speaker 3: and then sometimes it's like and hard fileluja. I think
- 3:28Speaker 3: it's a little bit more disguised. Like when Jelly first
- 3:32Speaker 3: heard the song, he's like, bro, I didn't even know
- 3:34Speaker 3: it was a Christian song. He's like, I know, I
- 3:35Speaker 3: was like singing about God, but I didn't know you're
- 3:38Speaker 3: a Christian artist. I didn't know it as a Christian song.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And for me, I was like, that's beautiful the fact
- 3:44Speaker 3: that he connected with God, but he didn't scream Christian
- 3:47Speaker 3: music because we've and I think that's what I'm super
- 3:50Speaker 3: fired up to do is maybe be one of the
- 3:52Speaker 3: ones that, hopefully, with God's help, that kind of changes
- 3:56Speaker 3: the narrative a little bit. We have this idea of
- 3:59Speaker 3: what Christian music sounds like, and I don't think it
- 4:01Speaker 3: has to sound like what it always has sounded like
- 4:04Speaker 3: and carries the same message, but I don't think it
- 4:07Speaker 3: needs to be like as soon as you hear it,
- 4:09Speaker 3: you're like, oh, that's a church song.
- 4:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I want to I want to, like, I want to
- 4:14Speaker 3: be a little sneaky and catch people off guard, and
- 4:16Speaker 3: I think that's what this song's doing.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Would you rather people, as you're getting introduced to new
- 4:21Speaker 1: circles and obviously you're on mainstream radio now, would you
- 4:24Speaker 1: rather people just say, here's an artist with a great
- 4:28Speaker 1: Christian message or you're like, no, I'm a Christian artist
- 4:30Speaker 1: with a great message.
- 4:33Speaker 3: That's an interesting question.
- 4:35Speaker 2: What I would what I would love?
- 4:37Speaker 1: I mean, at the end of the day, shut up
- 4:39Speaker 1: and listen to music, right, yeah, right, But as people
- 4:42Speaker 1: are I would say the open I think that the
- 4:45Speaker 1: door widens a little bit more.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, for everyone out there, if you if you lead
- 4:52Speaker 3: with art and respected art, like I don't know, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 3: until you catch what the message is, it's like, wow,
- 4:59Speaker 3: this is just excellent. And what they won't even like
- 5:01Speaker 3: realize maybe but subconsciously is like you're actually experiencing a
- 5:05Speaker 3: gift of God. You're not like before you even catch
- 5:08Speaker 3: the message. Like I listened to secular music all the time,
- 5:12Speaker 3: and I'll hear a song that's not even necessarily about God,
- 5:15Speaker 3: but I'm like, dude, I experience God in that Like
- 5:17Speaker 3: it's beautiful, Like he made us, he made art, Like
- 5:21Speaker 3: where else do you think it came from? So I
- 5:23Speaker 3: think people can experience God even when the message isn't
- 5:26Speaker 3: necessarily like I got faith and I got you know,
- 5:29Speaker 3: I love church and so I mean, I think Coldplay
- 5:32Speaker 3: is so anointed the melodies and like, there's so many
- 5:35Speaker 3: things I listen to.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I mean, so many of Jelly's songs that I'm.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Just like godly that is, I experience God in it,
- 5:42Speaker 3: but it's not screaming like the Gospel shoving it down
- 5:45Speaker 3: people's throat. So I just want people to encounter I
- 5:49Speaker 3: would say, the spirit of Jesus in me, Like, no
- 5:54Speaker 3: matter what I do.
- 5:55Speaker 1: When it comes to collapse, they fall together in a
- 5:58Speaker 1: lot of ways. Probably the most common. It's either backstage
- 6:01Speaker 1: at a festival yeah, or managers talk yeah and it
- 6:06Speaker 1: just happens. Uh, how did the one would Jelly happen?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Like how did y'all end up connecting? Because this song
- 6:11Speaker 1: existed pre Jelly roll?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah, so happened to write the song felt really special
- 6:16Speaker 3: and I was like, we have to actually teased it,
- 6:18Speaker 3: put a little clip of it out and I wasn't
- 6:21Speaker 3: supposed to be putting any new music out anytime soon.
- 6:23Speaker 2: The label was like I posted it and they're like,
- 6:25Speaker 2: what are you doing, you.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Know, because people went crazy and they're like, give us
- 6:30Speaker 3: this song right now or else, you know.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 4: So I was like, all right, the record label are
- 6:34Speaker 4: the people, this is my this is my no the people,
- 6:37Speaker 4: and so my labels like, oh no, Like I guess
- 6:41Speaker 4: we need to put out on it because I had
- 6:42Speaker 4: just had a number one.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and so we're like trying to let that ride out.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And then I teased this song and people are demanding,
- 6:50Speaker 3: demanding it, and so I'm like, y'all, I can't make
- 6:53Speaker 3: them wait too long.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So we put hard fought Hallelujah out. But it just
- 6:57Speaker 2: felt like such a special, special song.
- 6:59Speaker 3: I didn't want to care it just by myself and
- 7:02Speaker 3: just knowing the lyrics and it being about you know,
- 7:04Speaker 3: like like trying to sing Hallelujah in the midst of
- 7:08Speaker 3: you know, uh hell, you know, Like I was like, man, like,
- 7:11Speaker 3: who resonates? Who would resonate with this story? And I
- 7:14Speaker 3: just kept thinking jelly Roll, I've been seeing hearing his
- 7:17Speaker 3: story and seeing clips. And then the cool thing was
- 7:19Speaker 3: what happened was I told the team, Hey, reach out,
- 7:22Speaker 3: it's a long shot. Let's reach out and just see
- 7:26Speaker 3: and then you know, some days past and I was
- 7:29Speaker 3: watching the CMA Awards and uh, I got a met
- 7:32Speaker 3: I fell asleep. I fell asleep before his performance. Yeah,
- 7:36Speaker 3: I know, bro, I got I got three boys at home.
- 7:39Speaker 3: It is a crazy house. Dogs, cows, animals everywhere.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Your boy gets tied. I'm trying to be an artist
- 7:46Speaker 2: and a farmer.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Did you just say children, dogs, cows.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Donkeys are on the way. And we've had skulches in
- 7:54Speaker 3: our house. I've had pigs in my house. It's a circus.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Uh yeah, yeah, so.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Oh we just added ten minutes of this talk. Yeah right, okay,
- 8:04Speaker 1: we'll circle back to So my brother I was literally
- 8:09Speaker 1: just staying up really just trying to see Jelly's performance.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I've just felt like an immediate, like just love and
- 8:14Speaker 3: connection to that dude, even before meeting him. And so
- 8:18Speaker 3: I wake up and my brother in law sent me
- 8:20Speaker 3: the video, the clip of just that performance with Brooks
- 8:22Speaker 3: and Dunn song I Believe. And I'm watching people in
- 8:26Speaker 3: the middle of this secular award show not expecting it.
- 8:29Speaker 3: People are starting to stand up and lift their hands
- 8:32Speaker 3: and worship.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Tears.
- 8:33Speaker 3: So many tears is running down people's faces as people
- 8:36Speaker 3: are declaring.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Like I don't have it all figured out. I don't
- 8:40Speaker 2: have it all together, but you know what I do.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I believe and I'm like this, dude, these guys just
- 8:46Speaker 3: led the world and worship and no one saw it coming.
- 8:51Speaker 3: And and like, dude, that's not easy to do, to
- 8:54Speaker 3: like take a song like that, and and like, I'm
- 8:56Speaker 3: sure a lot of people were like what the heck,
- 8:58Speaker 3: but the majority of the room was bought in, and
- 9:01Speaker 3: it just gave me all the confidence to be like,
- 9:04Speaker 3: he's the dude.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And so we reached out.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Little did I know that Jelly had already heard that
- 9:09Speaker 3: song somehow on TikTok reached out to his team. I
- 9:13Speaker 3: was like, Yo, have you heard this joint? Like this
- 9:15Speaker 3: song's crazy, and so when we asked, he was like, heck, yes,
- 9:21Speaker 3: I love that song.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 9:23Speaker 3: And then he we got on the phone like the
- 9:25Speaker 3: next day or and bro, I mean, it wasn't thirty seconds,
- 9:29Speaker 3: and I just fell in love with the dude. And
- 9:30Speaker 3: it was like I've felt like I just met my
- 9:33Speaker 3: long lost brother and it's been a real I think
- 9:36Speaker 3: the most beautiful things in life happened through real relationship,
- 9:39Speaker 3: and so it was important to both of us that
- 9:42Speaker 3: this was not a play to have a big song
- 9:45Speaker 3: or for me on my side to try to make
- 9:46Speaker 3: the song bigger. It was like I just heard his
- 9:50Speaker 3: story and I was like, I feel like this is
- 9:51Speaker 3: a song for him, and then to hear from him,
- 9:55Speaker 3: this song is actively right now changing his life. And
- 9:59Speaker 3: we were the Opry last night and he's on stage
- 10:02Speaker 3: saying tears in his eyes. This song is pulling out
- 10:06Speaker 3: something that's always been inside of him. But he's never
- 10:08Speaker 3: been this bold about and that's his walk. And he's
- 10:11Speaker 3: honest about not having it all together, which I love
- 10:13Speaker 3: and respect so much that he actually is honest about
- 10:16Speaker 3: not having it all together, whereas so many Christians are
- 10:19Speaker 3: just lying about it, saying that they think they think
- 10:21Speaker 3: they do.
- 10:22Speaker 2: The truth of this.
- 10:23Speaker 3: None of us do. And so it's really been a
- 10:27Speaker 3: beautiful friendship already, and I think we both equally have
- 10:33Speaker 3: been ministered to by this song.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Collabs happened every day, more so in country now than
- 10:39Speaker 1: I mean ever, like maybe early nineties, yeah, like the
- 10:42Speaker 1: last time collabs were this hot. Yeah, But it's it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: weird this collab because a lot of artists hop on
- 10:49Speaker 1: a song and then go all right, cool, I did
- 10:51Speaker 1: your song with the UCA later.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It feels like he's just as passionate about the song
- 10:56Speaker 1: as you are, which you see a country music usually
- 10:59Speaker 1: it's like, oh, I hopped on your I hopped on
- 11:01Speaker 1: your song. Yeah, go enjoy it. This feels like, Hey,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I hopped on your song and now it's ours.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yes, And I think that speaks to how much the
- 11:08Speaker 3: message of the song is like actively like working in
- 11:12Speaker 3: his life, and he's honest about it. I didn't expect
- 11:15Speaker 3: anything more than him just hopping on the song. I
- 11:18Speaker 3: knew it'd be special, that that in itself would have
- 11:20Speaker 3: been special. And literally just as early as like yesterday,
- 11:26Speaker 3: he facetimed me and we're both in Nashville, just you know,
- 11:28Speaker 3: we got a bunch of stuff for doing this week together,
- 11:31Speaker 3: singing the song many times, singing its bar and I
- 11:33Speaker 3: I think, you know, like super stoked. But he called
- 11:37Speaker 3: me and he calls me all the time, and he's
- 11:39Speaker 3: just he's such a lover and encourager and he's like
- 11:42Speaker 3: man like, brainon, I just want to remind you, bro, like, uh,
- 11:46Speaker 3: this isn't just like a thing I did with you
- 11:48Speaker 3: and now like it's over. He's like, dude, this is
- 11:50Speaker 3: my next song. Like, I'm telling everyone that's on my team,
- 11:54Speaker 3: get behind this song. This is my next song. We're
- 11:58Speaker 3: not looking for another song on my record, push next,
- 12:00Speaker 3: Like this is the song. And dude, that I mean,
- 12:04Speaker 3: could I ask for anything more than that?
- 12:05Speaker 2: I mean?
- 12:06Speaker 3: And so to have two guys that fully believe in
- 12:09Speaker 3: it and champion it, and especially with all the power
- 12:12Speaker 3: that you know and what God's doing in his world
- 12:13Speaker 3: right now, is just crazy.
- 12:15Speaker 2: That's like, it's a that's a dream come true.
- 12:17Speaker 1: You were talking about the Opry and you just played there.
- 12:20Speaker 1: The Opry is such a hallowed ground for country music,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I mean a country music fan in general. Yeah, especially
- 12:26Speaker 1: as somebody who is gifted enough to have an excuse
- 12:29Speaker 1: to step inside the circle.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Uh, what was that experience like, because I'd imagine you've
- 12:34Speaker 1: been to the Opry before as a fan or or
- 12:38Speaker 1: supporting somebody.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Right, Well, it's funny shout out to Dirty Myrtle, where
- 12:41Speaker 3: I spent some of my time growing up.
- 12:43Speaker 2: We had the Carolina Opry. Have you ever heard of that?
- 12:46Speaker 3: It feels way different, it is, So that's what I
- 12:48Speaker 3: was gonna say, dude, It's not the same thing. So,
- 12:52Speaker 3: but but like growing up there and like seeing that
- 12:54Speaker 3: and stuff like being.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Here, I'm like, oh, this is the real thing, you know, dude.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I was trying to find words for it all night
- 13:04Speaker 3: and still am like I'm still in a high and
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm still like trying to process. I mean, can you
- 13:11Speaker 3: can you process things that are so beyond yourself?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Like I don't.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I don't know if you can. Uh, but it was
- 13:16Speaker 3: so overwhelming and just I was just so grateful. You
- 13:19Speaker 3: feel so unworthy to like step into that circle knowing
- 13:22Speaker 3: who's been there and uh, but like what an incredible honor.
- 13:29Speaker 3: And I just tried to step in and just be like,
- 13:31Speaker 3: how do I serve this moment? Well? How do I
- 13:33Speaker 3: get people a great time and hopefully they leave better
- 13:36Speaker 3: than they walked in?
- 13:37Speaker 1: You know, knowing how fast the song is moving. Anytime
- 13:40Speaker 1: music moves fast, you have to keep up with it.
- 13:43Speaker 1: H Were you able to take the moment in because
- 13:47Speaker 1: we're all surrounded by so much life right now that
- 13:49Speaker 1: like that the moment, Yeah, it's something that you don't
- 13:52Speaker 1: really get to absorb, right.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I had a few moments where I started to tear up.
- 13:58Speaker 3: You know, you're it's so hard, but cause you're really
- 14:00Speaker 3: trying to do a good job, especially my debut. You know,
- 14:03Speaker 3: it's like I don't want to botch it, you know,
- 14:05Speaker 3: and I'm like trying to remember the lyrics and you know,
- 14:09Speaker 3: I mean, I've never been more nervous, I think, in
- 14:10Speaker 3: my life. And yet there was a moment during a
- 14:14Speaker 3: song of mine called Gratitude and you kind of can't help.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I mean, it's what the whole song's about, but just
- 14:20Speaker 3: sit back and reflect. And it was one that man,
- 14:22Speaker 3: so many of my fans showed up last night. I
- 14:25Speaker 3: was scared to death that I was going to be
- 14:27Speaker 3: the odd dude out you know and country but also
- 14:31Speaker 3: known for my Christian music and so like this is
- 14:33Speaker 3: a little bit more of a newer world for me,
- 14:37Speaker 3: and so I had no idea. And when they said
- 14:39Speaker 3: my name and I'm like, people went nuts.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I was like, oh my people showed up, dude, And
- 14:45Speaker 2: so I.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Fell on fire Man and so I had my moment
- 14:49Speaker 3: with gratitude, and then luckily I was able to go
- 14:51Speaker 3: backstage take a few minutes to like take it in
- 14:54Speaker 3: and then come back out and I sang hard fought
- 14:56Speaker 3: Hallelujah with Jelly Roll, and because we were both in
- 14:59Speaker 3: the song, and I'm not having to carry every bit
- 15:02Speaker 3: of it. I was really able to kind of look
- 15:03Speaker 3: around and just go, what the heaven is happening right now?
- 15:08Speaker 2: You know, it's crazy.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm excited that they'd cheer loud for you, but they
- 15:12Speaker 1: do for the janitor as well. It's kind of like
- 15:13Speaker 1: they just.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I felt bad.
- 15:18Speaker 3: There was one lady last night they announced her birthday,
- 15:21Speaker 3: but I walked out at the same time, and we're
- 15:24Speaker 3: all going like.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yo, this lady is so love happy birthday.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And then I realized the guy was still setting up
- 15:31Speaker 3: this like this woman's birthday, but yeah, I'd walked out,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and then I realized. I was like, wait, was that
- 15:36Speaker 3: for like Karen or was that for me? I don't know,
- 15:38Speaker 3: And everybody's like, dude, that was for you, bro, And
- 15:40Speaker 3: I was like, no, like it's crazy.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Last thing I want to ask you is we look
- 15:48Speaker 1: for we look to be for our efforts to be
- 15:54Speaker 1: verified right, for a sign like I'm going in the
- 15:58Speaker 1: right path or I'm where I'm supposed to be. What's
- 16:01Speaker 1: been the biggest thing, not necessarily this song, but from
- 16:05Speaker 1: the first time he picked up a guitar to sitting
- 16:07Speaker 1: in front of me today what's been the biggest thing
- 16:09Speaker 1: that has helped you go? Yeah? This, Yeah, we keep going.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Last night a family came who their only reason to.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Come to Nashville is to come see me last night
- 16:21Speaker 3: because this song, Oh, this song hard Fought Hallelujah is
- 16:28Speaker 3: what's getting their family through and more particularly their son
- 16:32Speaker 3: who's eight years old and has a pretty a really
- 16:35Speaker 3: bad form of cancer. Yeah, and and they came last
- 16:40Speaker 3: night just to hear this song. It's been his battle cry,
- 16:44Speaker 3: it's been his anthem. And I got a precious video
- 16:47Speaker 3: of him this this morning from a friend when he's
- 16:51Speaker 3: got some boxing gloves on and he's in the hospital.
- 16:53Speaker 3: They've made him the face of the children's hospital in
- 16:57Speaker 3: his city. And and this song hard Fought Hallelujah has
- 17:02Speaker 3: been the song that's given him faith to keep going
- 17:04Speaker 3: and keep fighting and his family faith. And for me, dude,
- 17:09Speaker 3: I could care less about a number one. Do I
- 17:11Speaker 3: want number ones and to take over and dominate? Yes,
- 17:14Speaker 3: I'm a driven person. God made me that way. But ultimately, dude,
- 17:18Speaker 3: why we do this is for people. That's what we're
- 17:23Speaker 3: called to is relationship, and it's and it's to love
- 17:26Speaker 3: one another and to do that well. And if I
- 17:28Speaker 3: can do that through songs, and especially give an eight
- 17:30Speaker 3: year old. I have an eight year old. I can't
- 17:33Speaker 3: imagine walking through that with my own son. And to
- 17:37Speaker 3: think that a single song could be the soundtrack of
- 17:40Speaker 3: faith to keep him fighting, That's why I do it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: That's what the goose bumps are like wild right now?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Holy cow? What is that?
- 17:49Speaker 1: So that was gonna be the last question, but now
- 17:51Speaker 1: it'sond this. What does that do for you moving forward
- 17:55Speaker 1: for the next song?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what fires me up to write the next one.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I tell other songwriters and that's what I try to do,
- 18:02Speaker 3: is to not write faceless songs, Yeah, but to write
- 18:08Speaker 3: songs from a place of testimony in light ways and
- 18:12Speaker 3: then in heavy ways. And you know, it's like like
- 18:16Speaker 3: this kid, like his face will be in my head
- 18:18Speaker 3: when I'm writing the next song that is trying to
- 18:21Speaker 3: be a song that it's going to encourage people to
- 18:23Speaker 3: keep going. I've got countless stories, friends and family that
- 18:29Speaker 3: I channel in the songs that I write, and and
- 18:33Speaker 3: so honestly, every single story is what It's another log
- 18:38Speaker 3: on the fire to keep going and write another song
- 18:41Speaker 3: that'll hopefully change somebody.
- 18:42Speaker 1: That's so the next song is called log On the
- 18:44Speaker 1: Fires that.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Log on the Fires, Let's go p fire can fire
- 18:49Speaker 2: with God. I appreciate that man.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Thanks for swinging through.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Man, it's so honored to be here. Thank you so much.
- 18:53Speaker 1: It's beautiful, my pleasure,
