- 0:00Speaker 1: Pretty impressive game out there. You had a lot of
- 0:02Speaker 1: different facets that you know, ups and rolls, but overall
- 0:06Speaker 1: your team performs what you were expecting.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought.
- 0:09Speaker 3: I thought we started out our defense was really really good,
- 0:12Speaker 3: and then we heading into halftime, we had a couple
- 0:14Speaker 3: of mishaps with just lack of communication on some screens
- 0:18Speaker 3: and gave up some threes.
- 0:19Speaker 2: But and then we the.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Second half, they started to play a little bit more zone.
- 0:23Speaker 3: We had to adjust to that and be able to
- 0:25Speaker 3: you know, knock in some threes. Asy took her a
- 0:27Speaker 3: wild to knock in some but you know, I thought
- 0:29Speaker 3: Sarah Strong was amazing in the first half, just did
- 0:32Speaker 3: a little bit of everything. I think Sarah Williams had
- 0:34Speaker 3: a really good game. KK played well. Everybody I think
- 0:38Speaker 3: that that played had had their moments of playing really well.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I was just gonna mention KK because you know, some
- 0:43Speaker 1: good numbers in the stats, but a lot of it
- 0:45Speaker 1: doesn't show up. She seemed to be a really good
- 0:46Speaker 1: floor general, whether it was offense or defense.
- 0:49Speaker 3: She had a hard matchup against the chit chat which name, Yeah,
- 0:54Speaker 3: I love that name, and she's a really good player.
- 0:56Speaker 3: She's young too, But I thought her matchup was key.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I thought we did a really good job early.
- 1:01Speaker 3: On taking her out of the game, which took them
- 1:05Speaker 3: out of their offense.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So you know their post players, I thought.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I thought we handled We made some mistakes on the
- 1:10Speaker 3: post too, where we gave them up some easy layups,
- 1:13Speaker 3: but overall, I thought we did a really good job.
- 1:15Speaker 3: It's a great way to head into the holiday.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And I think Blanca Keonis did a pretty good job too.
- 1:21Speaker 2: She gave she got in some.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Foul trouble, but she offered some energy off the bench too. Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 3: You know, like I've said before, Blanca can play well
- 1:29Speaker 3: for us and for the other team in a matter
- 1:31Speaker 3: of seconds. So she made some really great plays.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And then just again on the defensive end, some lack.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Of communication with the screens and giving up some shots
- 1:41Speaker 3: that we didn't really want.
- 1:42Speaker 2: To give up. We thought giving up threes.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Giving up threes is always a lot worse than giving
- 1:46Speaker 3: up twos, and so we were okay with if we
- 1:48Speaker 3: had to make them work hard for twos, but giving
- 1:51Speaker 3: up so many wide open threes, we were concerned about that,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but we cleaned it up. I thought did a little
- 1:56Speaker 3: bit better in the second half.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You mentioned that this could be one of those games
- 2:00Speaker 1: so that you feel like, you know, a hiccup because
- 2:02Speaker 1: of the travel, but then also heading into the holidays
- 2:06Speaker 1: from our perspective, the fan perspective, that it seemed that
- 2:08Speaker 1: they were focused. They didn't hit everything, but pretty happy
- 2:11Speaker 1: with what you saw, the energy and because it was
- 2:14Speaker 1: a pretty formidable opponent that in the end you did
- 2:16Speaker 1: am made him look not as good as they really are.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Well, I think overall this team has done a really
- 2:22Speaker 3: good job of when it's time to play, they play.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The concern is probably more on the.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Coaches and because we had a good workout yesterday and
- 2:30Speaker 3: we didn't come over today.
- 2:32Speaker 2: We did a walk through, but they seem.
- 2:33Speaker 3: To be ready and I watched our warm up and
- 2:36Speaker 3: I think it helps when you play a team as
- 2:37Speaker 3: good as Iowa, because I think you have to know,
- 2:40Speaker 3: you know that you have to be at a certain
- 2:42Speaker 3: level in order to have success. So playing a good
- 2:44Speaker 3: team right before break it's great because but you can
- 2:48Speaker 3: also like last year, we lost a tough game and
- 2:50Speaker 3: a headed home for the holidays after a loss. At
- 2:52Speaker 3: least to syure we get to head home after a win, right.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So that was a Christmas present to the coaches and is.
- 2:57Speaker 2: That the thing?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yes, it was a very lovely Christmas present. Just you know,
- 3:01Speaker 3: it's they've done. Our players have done a really good
- 3:04Speaker 3: job of when it's time to practice, we practice, and
- 3:06Speaker 3: it's time to have fun. We have fun, and it's
- 3:08Speaker 3: time to travel and to compartmentalize all of that. And
- 3:12Speaker 3: hopefully now for the next five days they'll get a
- 3:14Speaker 3: chance just to enjoy being with their families and all
- 3:17Speaker 3: the fun stuff that the holiday brings, a.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Much deserved rest.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That also means for the coaches, do you get to
- 3:22Speaker 1: have so much deserved rest?
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we do.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Hopefully we'll be able to do the same thing, kind
- 3:28Speaker 3: of take some time off, but you know, we have
- 3:29Speaker 3: a game when we get back and all that craziness.
- 3:32Speaker 3: But yes, we'll definitely all be able to spend some
- 3:34Speaker 3: time with our family and get away from basketball for all.
- 3:37Speaker 1: All right, So well, thanks coach Dalley.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna let you do that. Bob loves to hear
- 3:40Speaker 2: you say back to you, Bob,
