[upbeat rock music] Good day, radio listeners.
• 0:19
It's the Full Spectrum Cycling Show. I'm Sven. I'm JK, and I'm feeling good right now. JK is feeling really good. I'm Tony. I'm all right. Tony's okay. Tony's all right. All right. J- why is J- Yeah?
• 0:32
Why is JK feeling so [laughs] [singing] I'm leaving on a jet plane. Don't know if I'll be back again. Oh, babe, I hate to go. I'm- No, fuck. Yeah, I'm [gags] fuck out of here. All right. JK's going on vacation, people.
• 0:48
Yeah. If you hadn't- Hey, that leaves a seat open for the next show if anybody wants to- Yeah, anybody wants to-... come in and talk radio while you're, while you're in Portugal, Morocco- Exactly...
• 0:59
slash- Yeah, wherever the State d- State Department says, "Hey, keep a low profile." [laughs] How many travel advisories have you had so far? Three. [laughs] Really? Yeah. [laughs] Holy shit.
• 1:12
Like, "Oh, heightened alert." See, I'm not the typical American. I'm all cool. "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Look out." I'm like, "Yeah. Well, this'll be fun. Why not?" [laughs] Yeah.
• 1:22
Something you can tell your children. Yeah. Well- Yeah... well, taking two with. [laughs] There you go. That's the point. Something you can tell your friends, you know? That, that- Yeah. Very cool.
• 1:33
G- gotta leave a couple tethers back on the, uh- Yeah. Good idea... mainland. Someone's gotta collect that inheritance. Yeah, [laughs] exactly. Any- did anything firm up with the cycling plans over there?
• 1:45
Um, there is something in Lisbon, but I'm kinda on the shelf, so I didn't really investigate too far. Right on. I d- it seems like it's very hilly, and you pretty much wanna
• 2:02
begin at the top and then work your way down. Um- So you're renting downhill bikes? I don't know. The thing was, think it started on the bottom and you kinda weaved slow and serpentine,
• 2:17
so it didn't feel like you were going up a damn mountain. Gotcha. Gotcha. Cool. Yeah. Kinda like, you know, a normal Saturday, Sunday.
• 2:27
[laughs] How's that flight gonna be with the bandaged-up hand and the banged-up shoulder? All's well. All is well. All is well, yeah. All is well? All right. All is well. Hey, see? Oh, yeah. Look at that. Look at that.
• 2:37
You've recovered really well. I, I can TSA. See? What did they do to you? Did you get shots or something that you can- No... you just recovered after a week? Dude, this is Michael J. Okay.
• 2:46
[laughs] 'Cause last week you couldn't do half that. I know. I- I'm impressed. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Apparently no tears there. Apparently not.
• 2:54
Apparently it just was, yeah, and that's a lot of- Well, I hope you don't fall on any ice while you're over there. [laughs] 'Cause there's no ice. I'm just being friend, you know? Well- All will be well- All is well...
• 3:07
and is well. I like that. That's a thing. That's the thing. Da-da-da. So- All will be well and is well. That's a great tattoo. I like it. So I saved myself- Well-...
• 3:19
hundreds of dollars by not going to the damn [laughs] I'm betting more like thousands of dollars, but you know. Well, initial. We'll have a great time.
• 3:28
You know, stay safe, stay safe and- [laughs] Stay within the parameters of safe, yeah... don't do anything I wouldn't do. Sounds like a really good time. Yes, Morocco will be Moroccan. Moroccan. I'm just saying.
• 3:42
Should've, I talked to, uh- That, that, that was, like, one of those moves on that where I, I just threw it out in the ether going like, "Hey, well, Morocco's right there." Might as a well go.
• 3:54
And then all of a sudden it's like, "Okay, we got three nights in Tangier." [laughs] I'm like- Take a lot of cash... like, right on. [laughs] Uh, dirhams. Dirhams. Or dirhams or dirhams. I don't know.
• 4:06
Some sort of foreign currency. They, they, they also take- Exactly... US dollars. That's what I'm thinking. So in, in, uh- [laughs]...
• 4:12
in conjunction with our show on Friday that we didn't really quite get the interviews done for 'cause of- Oh... technology constraints, I, I talked to JP today. Oh, I thought- And, uh- Not tonight? No. Oh.
• 4:25
He's, he's busy getting ready for his big, big fat pursuit race this weekend, so we talked to him earlier in the day. Wow.
• 4:31
That'll actually be on the show that Chris was putting together with the band and all that, but I thought it was interesting that he mentioned cycling in Morocco, so. Oh, very cool. Right on.
• 4:41
I didn't really delve into it too much, but, uh- I can't... he, he will be doing, uh, events over there this year in that neck of the woods. Nice. Sweet. Listen to the wrap up show from the Fatter By the Lake.
• 4:54
Whenever that gets posted, you'll hear a, a conversation with, uh, JP and also Amelia Kegel from the Huge Ass series. And Spinner.
• 5:04
There's a lot of people on the show, but those were the only ones we didn't have on the day of. True. [laughs] No, I'm just- That's true... you, yeah, you were recapping. Yeah, Spinner.
• 5:14
Yeah, there was, there's some peoples on that show. Peoples. And good music. Chris said he got everything, uh, dialed in, and he's- Yeah... he should be good to go for the, the mix and- That's cool as hell.
• 5:24
'Cause it was confusing to listen to or to be audience or participant of, going like, "What?" [laughs] "I'm talking in a hall." [laughs] Yeah. I th- I think it'll turn out. "Hi." I think it'll turn out good.
• 5:40
And you're gonna get a lot of recaps on, uh, shows from the Fatter By the Lake. Uh, Gomez did his Danger Gnome show. We'll talk a little bit more about it this show, and just say next time- Should've went...
• 5:52
there's a Fatter By the Lake, it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to show up at it. It, yeah. Uh, it came up, um, a- On the face place rememories, uh, the- Like three years ago, Fat Tire Lake, hanging out.
• 6:09
And I'm like, "Oh, yeah, yeah. Da, da, da." Rememories. Rememories. Rememories. That sounds like a computer thing. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Hmm, hmm. So I think, um, I don't know, the...
• 6:23
It was just a busy weekend of, of fat biking fun, and I kind of forgot most of it [laughs] honestly. Yeah, yeah, man, I was- At [laughs] big- I was so envious.
• 6:33
[laughs] I'm like, I'm like, "God damn it, I, I drove down for the damn podcast." I'm like, "Oh, fuck it, I'm gonna v'er and v'uck and..." [laughs] Yeah, yeah, I could... Eh, but I can't...
• 6:44
I ca- I couldn't ride, so it was like [clicks tongue] rip guard. Eh. Well, the, the race was really cool. We talk about, uh- I saw the track. Yeah. The track was insanity looking. I, I... It was, it was neat.
• 6:58
There were some good, uh- Yeah, dude... good, good use of- It was insane... um, uh, atomic age, uh, buildings and sand and shortcuts with s'more makings.
• 7:13
I, I saw that Sam posted that he got passed, and all I can think of is if Sam got passed, I'm glad I wasn't racing. [laughs] 'Cause holy shit, that dude's a machine. [laughs] It's like, okay.
• 7:26
I, I think our, uh, our, our Fatbike.com crew did okay. Spinner did pretty well. Gomez did pretty well. Nice. I don't know.
• 7:33
Sam was, uh, riding a four-inch Pugsley with studded tires, and I think they were a little on the full side, and he's, he's, he, he maybe was not quite displacing- Enough... or, uh, floating enough on the sand. Right.
• 7:45
May have been a little heavy on the tire pressure. Wow. But, uh- Maybe...
• 7:49
I think overall it was a good race, and, uh, it was sort of right in the middle of the weekend, so after the race there was a bunch of just hanging around and fat bike stuff, and then going to the brewery. And then
• 8:03
I don't know how exactly the Pugsley Games worked. We had nominated, I think Spinner and I had talked about it on the ride back- [laughs]...
• 8:10
from the, uh, the brew pub and kind of got a couple nominees for the, for the ax and it was- Oh, it's still in flux you mean?
• 8:17
No, it's, uh, it, uh, it- It's been- Aaron's wife, Christie, ended up winning it at the very end of the night. Uh, Dustin was in the running, and I think it was between those two.
• 8:27
[laughs] And somehow JP and I ended up being human goalposts for the ghost riding bike episode that sort of helped settle which one of them would take the ax home and...
• 8:38
I, I don't, I don't honestly remember it all except that the bike might have hit JP maybe and- Not you 'cause that's- No, I'm pretty agile.
• 8:46
I'm getting out of the way if that thing's coming [laughs] at me Well, no, I'm just saying if you can't remember, it might have been a- Ah, no... trauma thingy.
• 8:51
No, that wasn't so much trauma as- I'm just speaking from trauma, guy [laughs] here, so. [laughs] I think it was more, more, uh- I'm a little-... just a, a very long day, and that was at the very end of the night.
• 9:00
So there were, there were other things that made up that, that, uh, ax giving or awarding, but, uh, maybe we'll have to get Spinner on and he can enlighten- Yeah... us a little bit more. But- A little plus and minus.
• 9:12
Yeah... but I do remember that- Plus three... the goalposts were moving. Hmm. Yeah, so- Lifting things left and right. [laughs] Move things here and there. [laughs] Well, or making it- What? [laughs]...
• 9:20
making it longer or- What?... or wider for- What?... depending on who was rolling and- What do you mean? Oh. What do you mean? Yep. What do you mean? [laughs] Yep. It was, it was a mobile thing.
• 9:30
So that, yeah, that thing was a good thing. Hell yeah. That's why it was, "Ah." That's why I didn't want to- I'm gonna, I'm gonna shift gears a bit. How do you guys deal with this facial hair shit? What facial hair?
• 9:40
Yeah, I know. Oh, the scratching part. Oh, God, just- Don't you have beard oil?... muscle through it, man. What? Beard oil. Beard oil. You need beard oil. Muscle through it.
• 9:49
Wait, we talked about this on Sunday when we were hanging out at Bremen Cafe. No. Do you have a cat? Yeah. Put the cat next to it. Fuck that. [laughs] I hate my cat. [laughs] Put the cat next to it.
• 10:00
[laughs] What, am I gonna have cat oil on my face? I hate my cat. No. He's a douche. The cat'll just sit there and just start licking you. Oh, that's even more gross. Come on. JK. Dude. You let your cat lick your face?
• 10:13
Hell yeah, right here on the chin. Oh, I'm... Oh. [smacks lips] It's like French kissing. Oh, I think, yeah, we have a bathroom here. I think I'm gonna vomit. [laughs] Very good. Okay, on that subject, let's change.
• 10:28
Well, hey, man. What are you gonna do while you're in Europe? You gonna find random cats to lick your face? Why not? Let's, let's change the subject. [laughs] We can talk about your, uh, that electric bike. Now you've...
• 10:40
It's another dopey name. [laughs] That was literally- It's another dopey name, but it's a pretty funky bike. Are we saying S- Stream or- They call it Stream. S Dream. S Dream. Stream is what they're calling it.
• 10:51
The suspension reminds me of, like, one of those early Trek 9900s that just had the straight- Or-... chain stay or- Or it looks a lot like the suspension done on the, uh, Moulton that I borrowed from Russell Jobes. Ah.
• 11:08
In that it's got kind of a polymer dampener, but they, they... You know, their, their sales pitch is really well done. That's what I liked about the video is it's none of this smoke and mirrors.
• 11:18
They talk about the fact that they use magnesium because it's more environmentally friendly than carbon. It's lighter than aluminum. It's easier to manufacture. Everything about that bike is actually pretty slick.
• 11:30
It burns underwater. Well, it looks cool. [laughs] But does it have a- Yeah... does it have a disproportionately large kickstand? That is the coolest kickstand in the world. [laughs] That Mol- that Moulton's kickstand
• 11:45
that I thought forever was some reason to fold the bike- [laughs]... and then Jeff Scanlon's like, "That's a cool kickstand." I'm like, "What?" And he unfolds it, I'm like- [laughs]...
• 11:54
that's the coolest kickstand ever. That kickstand could come back on all bikes. Top tube- It was the size of the frame... top tube kickstand, man. Think about it. Your bike is so much sturdier.
• 12:07
[laughs] Yeah, makes a nice tripod. It does. Exactly. So, but it, it's a cool looking little bike, isn't it? And it's got some good features. Uh, yeah. Um, it, it's definitely not, you know, traditional bike style.
• 12:21
Um, but the, the stats and the, and the price point is, is, you know, every, every cheap electric bike now is rear-powered, 250 to 500 watt rear hub motor. Um, they're what China's making en masse. Yep, for sure.
• 12:38
So, you know, it's funky. Well, they've... They're at 629% of their goal, so- Yeah, yeah... hopefully they- S-... deliver You know. Well, we'll have a link in the show notes so you can look at it. S- Check it out...
• 12:51
Dream, or S-D Ream. [laughs] Stream. Or Stream. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, I'll have a link in the notes. It's, it's, it's- It's, it's-... funny... pretty cool little electric- Yeah... small bike.
• 13:04
Right on If that's your thing. [bell ringing] Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Top of the hill. Top of the hill, folks. It's not normal. Today- It's not right... is, uh,
• 13:16
this is a beer that was part of a white elephant gift from Christmastime.
• 13:20
[laughs] My, my, uh, sister for some reason thought a, a, a little green alien would be a great white elephant gift, but it also came with this six-pack of Three Floyds Pride and Joy 3000 mild ale. It's not normal.
• 13:38
It's not normal. It's not very mild either. It's pretty freaking delicious. It's, it's good. It's- Yeah... I- It's tasty. I- It's, I'm, I'm trying to decide what it's tasting like. What it is. It's- Yeah, it's not-...
• 13:48
I'm not a-... quite an IPA, but it's got a little IPA- It says something ale... follow-through. Mild ale. Mild ale. It, it- Uh... it's definitely hoppy. And it's session-y at 5%.
• 13:59
It's a smooth, medium-bodied- Oh, that's what-... session beer... that, that was the other thing I was looking for. With bright- And I'm like-... citrus hops... oh, yeah, yeah, it slides very good. Oh, it's 12%, ah.
• 14:08
No, no, no. Oh, oh, that was great. That was, that was the beer we had at the, um- The... the Harbor. Oh. The Harbor, uh... They didn't have Special K this time, so they- Oh, Avenue- Oh... Avenue Brewing.
• 14:18
S- uh, no, the Harbor. Har- Harbor? Is that what it's called? Yeah, in Winthrop Harbor. Was the, uh- Harbor Brewing... w- was a cute little French bull there? I didn't see anything cute except for the bartender.
• 14:31
What's her French bull? I don't know. Okay. Maybe. The blonde, right? Cute young lady? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah, she has the cutest doggy in the world.
• 14:38
But whatever, whatever, I think it was called Revel or Rebel, one of those, I don't remember the name of it, but it was 7.7, so that pretty much took me on.
• 14:46
[laughs] The ride back was pretty good from Winthrop Harbor to the hotel. Yeah, I bet. That's where, yeah, that's where you have to just, like, yeah, just follow the line, the white- Follow the lights, follow the line...
• 14:56
follow the light. Just, yeah. It was a smaller group than the one we had in the fall, but it was a- Yeah... rowdy group, so that was good. Nice. Very cool. Sorry I couldn't make it.
• 15:07
I was, uh- Yeah, Todd, give us a- Yeah... give us a party update. [clicks tongue] Uh, party was reasonably small, lots of fun.
• 15:15
Um, I, I had to laugh 'cause the first thing Dina's dog tried to do was mount my dog, Mariposa, and she hip checked him across the room. It was pretty epic. It's like, "Don't fuck with me, little man,"
• 15:30
which was- Put that shit-... but shit right, Dina... in my hand. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. If that Marty doesn't show you, oh me, oh me, oh. Yeah, so- That jungle love. Yeah. Uh- Oh me, oh me, oh... it was nice.
• 15:40
You know, it was, I didn't realize she lives off the Foxconn exit, uh, which is pretty insane if you go there at night. Haven't been yet. Um, 'cause it's, it's all blocked off for no reason whatsoever.
• 15:52
It's down to a single lane, but there's nothing going on. Oh, of course. Yeah. It's like, what? And then all of these lights, so they, the first thing they clearly did with the infrastructure was put up streetlights.
• 16:01
Yeah. Is there ever gonna be anything there though? Oh, I doubt it. Yeah.
• 16:04
That's, I mean, that- I highly dou- if, if, if Foxconn, i- if we can talk about, you know, if we're gonna go down that s- that road right now, Foxconn has a history of not producing factories in America that they claim they're gonna build.
• 16:15
There's one in Pennsylvania where there's, like, no one there. They're, they're kind of all over. They just pulled out of another country. I think this is a boondoggle. It'll be Area 52.
• 16:26
It'll be a good place for, uh, nighttime bike races with all those lights. It, you know what? Yes. It probably will. Since there's nobody there. It's gonna be totally deserted, and they kicked all those poor people out.
• 16:34
Well, these, not poor people, but these people out of their houses and, you know, that the, the video of the person that just finished building their house, and then they show the next scene is the crane taking it down because of eminent dona- domain.
• 16:46
I'm like, "That's kinda bullshit in my eyes." But- Yep, it is what it is... you know, politics are what they are. Yep. You know, that, that, you know, moves in mysterious ways, so to speak, so.
• 16:57
Yeah, but that was very eerie because you literally get off the freeway and it's, it's miles of what appears to be a subdivision with nothing there other than lights. It's like, okay.
• 17:08
Seen, I've seen towns like that out, out west too. Yeah. Near Nevada, in, uh, near Las Vegas there's a couple that were- Well, China's-... ghost towns right after the- China's got full cities... 2008 or '09.
• 17:18
China's got- Yeah... full cities they build that no one's living in. You know, it's like, okay. Yeah, I- Keep building... keep building that, you know, keeping people working.
• 17:25
I guess there's that way to look at it, you know? Somebody might show up someday. Yeah, yeah. Getting the alien infrastructure in place. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. So, um- What other kind of riding did people do?
• 17:38
Uh, well, that was the weekend riding, otherwise it was a Monday cruise, and I didn't go out today 'cause it was cold and I had other stuff to do. I'm, I'm- Today's chilly. Yeah. I feel so- And-... weird.
• 17:51
I feel like, I'm like, "Oh, when is going to be the first day I'll go?" Well, it- It, I, I'm figuring it's gonna be, uh, St. Paddy's. Yeah, there you go. That'll be a good launch point.
• 18:03
See, normally this would not be, you know, if this was a typical January, today wouldn't be that cold. No. True that. But, you know, tomorrow- Back and forth... it's gonna be 40 again. Forth again...
• 18:11
and it's been, it's been warming up all day too, so. Yeah, tomorrow's gonna be 40, 45, something insane like that. It's like, this is not January weather, which of course means that in June it's gonna be, like, 38.
• 18:21
That's why you have, like, shit all over your house going on. Right. I'm like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's see, what am I gonna wear today? This one. Uh, no, I thought I had it on.
• 18:29
Yeah, it, it- I thought I put you away. No, no, no, come here. Yep, no, it, it's, uh- [laughs] It's, I'm glad I had today off to, to hang out with the, the, the boy and go to the dentist and stuff, so- [laughs]...
• 18:42
I was kinda pleased I didn't have to, uh, ride to work at 6:00 in the morning. Sure of that. That'd been chile. Are you gonna go to Madison for the bike swap? No, I don't think so. Brazen Dropouts, Saturday.
• 18:54
Is that Saturday? The 11th. Yeah, I think I'm going to see my mom. My mum. My mum. Is anybody looking for anything at the bike swap? Is that on the way? Um, I think Helz is on the way. Helz is definitely on the way.
• 19:05
That's why I generally go on Saturdays. [laughs] Same. Bring baloney, baby. [laughs] For all listeners out there that don't know about Helz, you obviously hadn't been listening enough- Yeah, right...
• 19:15
because, 'cause Helz is kinda like the- That was a ham-fisted segue into- Yeah... Helz Into deliciousness. [laughs] Um, yeah, I will be, uh, stopping at Helz. I'm on the fence right now as to...
• 19:28
God, this is a bike podcast and here I'm talking about cars, but- Whatever... do I put the snow tires on my EOS and we drive the convertible to Oshkosh, or we just suck it up and drive the XP? Suck it up, buttercup.
• 19:38
Suck it up, buttercup. I, I, you know, but it's supposed to be right in that snowy band, so my car with, with the fancy summer tires on it in the winter- Not so good... the reason why they call them summer tires.
• 19:50
[laughs] Okay, even like, like the crappiest of crappy tires that are, uh, ridden bald, bald as bald, you're fine, 'cause I just got through that, so. Um, I'm, I'm not- [laughs] Don't worry about it...
• 20:04
not in any EOS, man, those things are insane. You know, uh, eh, as long as your head's in the game- Yeah... all is well. So no- It's-... nobody needs anything from this, the swap then?
• 20:12
They're not looking for any interesting parts? Um, I am actually looking for nine-speed thumbies, should you see them. We should make a list because a guy stopped by. I was, I was in here on Monday mucking about
• 20:26
and he, he rolled in. He said, "Are you open?" I said, "Well, I'm here, so yeah." [laughs] He's looking for a, a fork for a road bike he's restoring, so. Hmm.
• 20:36
Funny, we just talked to him on that last podcast and then he shows up. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Kinda like his ears were burning or something. Maybe, maybe. I don't know. Yeah.
• 20:43
If I don't really have a list yet, I might look for a couple parts for a couple of project bikes, but- Yeah. You know- I, I always end up like sh- I like the idea of not monkey shopping and just randomly- Oh, yeah...
• 20:52
buying things- I will say-... 'cause it looks like a good deal... I, I, I ended up shit, I ended up shit buying things that, guess what? I would put up for sale at a swap. Yeah.
• 21:02
[laughs] Well, I will say- I, I mean, I'm just kinda like moving, like, the vendor from- Sure... them to ma. [laughs] After, after cleaning and lubing my Elfin
• 21:13
nine-speed thumb shifter thing- Jesus, you're making it sound all sexy... you know, the Shimano, the, the Shimano- Eight-speed?...
• 21:21
eight, eight-speed shifter, and it today not working at all on the way here, I would be l- I would be really excited if you saw a JTEC or a microSHIFT Elfin- Is it just gummed up, or is the cable bad, or?
• 21:33
The cable's fine. It works flawlessly. It's that those damn shifters, every one of them I've ever had, when it gets to be about this temperature, does not shift for shit. It downshifts beautifully.
• 21:45
[laughs] Upshifting just does not work. Mm-hmm. You gotta hit it like eight times. You gotta kinda warm it up a little, and then it'll finally shift for you one. Now you gotta do it like six more times and it'll go two.
• 21:53
I really sit with some- And this is a really- Maybe you should put some- I really do-... AeroKrall on it. Didn't think of that and trust me- Krall, Krall... I sit with Spinner- Uh-uh... on this one on the single speed
• 22:04
as much as seemingly possible. Fat, fat bike single speed, you're strong like bull. Well, that, well, yeah- And I'm not strong like bull... he is strong like bull, but yeah. You know, and, and same with Mike,
• 22:13
Mike and Bird Mike. I'm just- It, it's like, you know, those dude, guys did Race Across America or Race Across Wisconsin on single speeds. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's- Right...
• 22:21
something fun this weekend is, uh, from the party is my niece brought her boyfriend, who is a Canadian. From Canadia? Exactly. Eh. Eh. And he's a roadie. I'm gonna, I'm gonna be Canadian overseas.
• 22:34
[laughs] He's a roadie, and he did the Race Across Wisconsin. Nobody needs to know I'm from the US. [laughs] Um, he did the Race Across Wisconsin on his fancy carpet fiber, uh, road bike- Carpet?...
• 22:45
uh, in 10 and a half hours. Wow. Yeah. So 225 miles in 10 and a half hours. That's- That's commendable... commendable. Moving along. That's commendable. That's, you know, okay, roadie. That's, that's a type A kinda guy.
• 22:56
That's not stopping at bars every 10 miles so often. And he's, he's older than you and I. He just, yeah, he must not stop at enough bars. Yeah, that, yeah. He doesn't stop at bars [laughs] that quickly.
• 23:06
We, the best conversation was someone started, we- It's a lully pad... we started having this conversation- Man...
• 23:10
about Americans versus Canadians, and he's like, "I don't really wanna get into this," 'cause he was being very- [laughs]... you know, political at the party. I'm like, "I'm gonna tell you..."
• 23:18
I, it was so funny 'cause I'm like, "I'm gonna tell you one thing Americans totally fucked up." And he's like, "What?" And he's ready for me to say something absolutely absurd. I'm like, "Motherfucking poutine."
• 23:29
Like, we have put everything you can think of in poutine, and clearly poutine is three ingredients. The dude's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. He's like, "Now we're talking about something important."
• 23:39
[laughs] It was hilarious. I'm like, we all know... And then one lady at the party was like, "What's poutine?" I'm like, "Oh, God." Oh. "Oh, God. You, you don't know what life is." [mimics cutting] Look, look.
• 23:50
You know, you might not- Jiggle some keys... you might not wanna stop at Wonder Boy, but, uh- Yeah... they got pretty good poutine over there at- Wonder Boy... Wonder Bar. No, what is it? Is it, is it, it's Wonder Boy.
• 24:00
Is it traditional poutine? [laughs] Is it three ingredients? Looked like gravy, cheese, and fries. French fries. Yeah. Okay, well then it might be a good poutine.
• 24:06
It's what it looked a lot like, but I think you could add- It might be clev- it might be clever... you could add sausage or something if you wanted to.
• 24:10
Yeah, so in other words, you're making it Americanized, and that sucks. Yeah. Fuck that. [laughs] But yeah, yeah. Eh, but the base- And I'm not going to Wonder Boy But it could be clever, like ultimately.
• 24:19
Fuck you, Don and John, and Don John. You had quite the opinions today. I am very opinionated- Wow... about those bunch of douches. Somebody's got a- If you're listening to our podcast, I fart in your general direction.
• 24:29
I am surprised. Surprized, one would say. Uh- Look it, the hand is working. Yes. Frosty Hogs coming up. Yes, it is. Isn't that the same week as, uh, Frost Bike? [laughs] I don't think so this year.
• 24:46
[laughs] I was mid-drink or otherwise I was gonna say that. [laughs] Oh, it's just that they, they usually make a beer for that event, which is nice. It's not gonna be Frost Bike though. No.
• 24:57
I don't know when Frost Bike is. I know where it is. I don't know when it is. No. Let's find out. It's every- Possibly not- Every day's Frost Bike day. Everything could be. [sniffs] Why, God?
• 25:11
I know it's in Denver, which is why I'm not going. Oh, it's the next weekend. What is the secret- January 31st... of your power? To February 2nd. In Denver? Yeah. Why, God, why? That could be great. It could be 80.
• 25:23
I gotta move around. Or it could be, you know, 20 and full of snow. Yeah, I mean, you're, you're gonna be inside most of the time if you're really doing it like the way they want you to do it, so. Oh. So it could be 80.
• 25:33
That's why I'm not going. I really wanna go back to Denver. I haven't been to Denver for damn, like, a decade and a half. It's been a few years. Last time I was in Denver was with this guy named Dinardo Colucci. Ah.
• 25:44
And we went and saw this guy- I know him. We went and saw this guy named Colin Ford. I know him too. So you don't have to go to Denver to get to a dispensary anymore. No, you can go to Chicago. They're out of weed.
• 25:55
Well, yeah. One of our, one of the guys, Dustin, as a matter of fact, which was one of the things that got him in the running for the Pugsley games- I thought I was-...
• 26:02
was he got up at 5:00 in the morning- [laughs] He went to a dispensary... to, to go wait in line at the dispensary- [laughs]... so he was there when it opened. So they waited in line an hour and a half.
• 26:10
You shouldn't have went. There were heaters outside. There was parties. Of course there were. There was people were yammering. You mean heaters? Yeah. [laughs] Or there were heaters. Yeah, so I don't know.
• 26:21
Oh, I bet you that was a spectacle and a half. It, it's, it's more expensive than my local guy here though by quite a bit. [laughs] But it's legal. Well- Of course... it's legal here too, kinda. Not kinda. Oh. Sarta?
• 26:34
It, it, it's not. Kinda Sarta? No, not Sarta either. Maybe. But, but- Little bit?... yeah. I mean, the prices I saw people posting on the Facebooks was pretty shocking. Yeah. Like $80 a gram.
• 26:45
  I, I saw, yeah, I mean- I don't know metric... that's a 60 for an eighth, that's a lot. Seems like. I don't understand. 60 for an, yeah. That's like 480 bucks for a Z. You're juggling dough. That seems kinda spendy.
• 26:57
Yeah. And that's not including the 35% or so taxes because- Right, that's-... you saw the receipt with five different jurisdictions getting tax out of these things. Right. Ah. I'm all for the idea. Yeah.
• 27:11
All for the idea. There, years ago there was this movie called, or documentary called The Union. I highly recommend you look this up. I think it's on Facebook or on, uh, YouTube right now.
• 27:22
But what the long and short of this is, is the reason why there hasn't been legalized marijuana in the United States is because both organized crime and the government lose too much money when there's legalized marijuana.
• 27:36
Gotcha. You got the organized- Now-... crime people losing all their money because of the mar- underground market. You got all the government people who are hired to fight these people.
• 27:47
Um, the classic story was trying to arrest this man from Canada who kept importing seeds into America, and he, they calculated out that he had made roughly a million dollars importing seeds into America.
• 28:01
The government had spent almost $10 million trying to arrest the guy. It's like, there's something wrong [laughs] here, people.
• 28:09
[laughs] And then once they do arrest him, they've got the, uh, you know, the- Extradition and, you know... the, the jail system that's, you know, run by private enterprise now, so. Right. Yeah, yeah, that too.
• 28:18
Ooh, anyone- And, um- Anyone want something? You're a b- you're a- 'Cause I, I was, I was getting a little antsy. You're a brave guy there- Yeah... with the, uh- Yeah, Sprecher Amber... the Sprecher Amber. Yeah. What?

• 28:36
Mike brought those a while back, but that I think was a leftover from Jungle Cross. I put a PBR in the fridge 'cause you left- I saw that... it sitting on the counter. Yeah, it was in my bag after- [laughs]...
• 28:46
uh, whatever weekend. Oh, this weekend. Whatever. So I had another Pabst product that I don't think I'd recommend. Oh. E- Easy. Pabst Easy. Easy? Easy. Not Deezy? Not Deezy. Is it the letters E-Z? E-A- Man...
• 28:58
S-Y, I think. You are right. Man, you are right. You are on site. Yeah. Um, some kinda light Pabst beer. Didn't taste much more than water, but...
• 29:08
Well, yeah, i- isn't it supposed to be like- Does it taste not like Pabst? No. Well, no, not exactly. No, it's like a, like a 3.2 version, like the Mormon- Oh... Mormon version of Pabst. [laughs] Mormon version.
• 29:18
All right. You describe it while I get us other beers. Yeah. It's like, ooh, 3.2 Utah beer. Yeah, no. It's not bad. What kinda beer you think you're gonna drink in, uh, the Europes? You gonna go with heavy stuff?
• 29:30
You gonna go with- Oh, no... you know? Just relaxed and drivey. I want a picture of every fucking beer you drink.
• 29:37
I mean, you don't have to, if you drink, like, 400 of the same beer, I don't, I want every picture of that. [laughs] But oh, yes. But I want one of, like, if you have a chance to try a Duvel- A Robert Duvall?...
• 29:49
the, the, the French beer, it's actually remarkably good, very light-looking- [laughs]... very strong. I- Yeah. I- I really like Duvel. I've, I've, I've got a- I think in the United States...

• 30:52
we, we were one of the first Wyatt- Do you guys, do you guys do phrasing? [laughs] We were one- Changes... of the first Wyatt vendors, but were we the first retailer to sell a Wyatt? Don't know. Probably.
• 31:02
We should probably inquire with Wyatt- Maybe... 'cause I think we were. Yep. And that- Hey, road trip. Yeah... that's pretty cool. Cheers. And Chris loves that Wyatt.
• 31:09
He, he came in yesterday and he was just like, "Yeah, you know, I really should've gotten into the fat bike game a long time ago [laughs] 'cause this is a great bike."
• 31:19
People often do that when they come late to the game. Yeah. They, they enjoy it that much more. You know, I told him- LA Cross is a-... I told him it got me into fat bi- or got me into mountain biking again.
• 31:29
I went into your shop- Yeah... and saw that fat burger sitting there- Yep... AKA Northpaw number one.
• 31:35
Well, I blame the Shark for getting me back into cycling, not that I always totally gave it up, but I really kinda got back into it 'cause of John's very funky designed Shark, but- It's a weird bike with gosh awful things...
• 31:45
I started enjoying cycling when fat bikes, again, showed up. I blame not having a car. [laughs] And then I'm like, "Oh, shit, I gotta just..." Hmm. I gotta get somewhere faster than walking.
