- 0:00What if the life you've been living, all the detours, the
- 0:06doubts, the long winding Rd. was never a mistake?
- 0:11What if it was always the plan? Hello, my beautiful soul,
- 0:19welcome back. I'm Esther, your host coming to
- 0:23you from Switzerland. And today I want to share
- 0:27something very personal with you, something that has been
- 0:32living in my chest for a long time, Something I kept asking
- 0:38myself quietly in the middle of the night, or on long walks in
- 0:44the mountains, or in those still moments between one version of
- 0:50myself and the next. And if you are the kind of
- 0:55person who sometimes wonders, why did it take me so long, then
- 1:03this episode is for you. Stay with me.
- 1:07Here's the question I couldn't stop asking myself.
- 1:13Why did it take so many years, So many years to learn how to
- 1:19change my state, To get back up after failure without lying on
- 1:26the floor for weeks? To stop letting other other
- 1:31people's opinions determine what I was worse.
- 1:36To finally, finally trust the quiet voice inside me that
- 1:43always knew? Why did it take that long?
- 1:49I learned languages early. I played the violin and
- 1:54performed in orchestras in other countries.
- 1:57I packed the bag one day and went to Paris completely alone,
- 2:03with no plan, no safety net, and found my own au pair family
- 2:10without any help from anyone. I did that.
- 2:14I did all of that. And yet.
- 2:18And yet I spent years believing I wasn't good enough.
- 2:24Isn't that wild? Isn't that the most
- 2:28heartbreaking and the most human thing?
- 2:32You can do brave beautiful things and still spend your
- 2:37mornings not believing in yourself.
- 2:42I've been doing a coaching education recently and something
- 2:47happens in one of our sessions that stopped me cold.
- 2:53One of the other participants shared their story.
- 2:58From a very young age, this person had decided they would
- 3:03become a banker. Not because anyone around them
- 3:08encouraged it, Actually quite the opposite.
- 3:13People in their environment said why not the car dealer, a
- 3:18painter, a mechanic? But they held the vision anyway.
- 3:24They held it quietly, stubbornly, like a candle in the
- 3:29wind. And I sat there listening.
- 3:33And I thought I had a vision too.
- 3:38As a little girl, I dreamt of being a famous author like
- 3:43Federica de Chesco. I dreamt of travelling the world
- 3:48and touching hearts with words. And then I looked at my life and
- 3:55I thought I became an author at 54.
- 4:01The famous part is still coming, but I wrote the book, I'm
- 4:07travelling and I am absolutely undeniable, touching hearts with
- 4:13words. The dream came true.
- 4:18It just came true on its own timeline.
- 4:22And the only thing standing between my joy and my reality
- 4:28was the story I was telling about how long it took.
- 4:33So here's the real question, and I want you to sit with this.
- 4:39Truly sit with it. What meaning are you giving to
- 4:45your path? Because here's what I know to be
- 4:49true. Time is not still variable that
- 4:54determines your worth. Time is not the measure of your
- 4:59success, the meaning you give to your journey.
- 5:04That is everything. That is the whole game.
- 5:11Think about Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison and
- 5:17worked out not with bitterness but with a vision to heal an
- 5:24entire nation. He could have called those years
- 5:29wasted. Instead, he called them his
- 5:34education, his foundation. Or think of Grandma Moses, who
- 5:42picked up a paintbrush for the first time at 78 years old, 78,
- 5:52and went on to become one of America's most beloved folk
- 5:59artists with her paintings hanging in museums around the
- 6:05world. She could have said, it's too
- 6:09late for me. Instead, she just started and
- 6:15the world fell in love with what she created.
- 6:21Think about the Japanese concept of ikigai.
- 6:26Your reason for being? It doesn't say find it by age
- 6:3230, it just says find it because of the depth of who you become
- 6:40on the way. That can't be rushed, that can't
- 6:45be faked. That is the treasure.
- 6:50I always dreamt of being a therapist, of sitting with
- 6:56someone in their pain and helping them find their way
- 7:01through. But back then I didn't believe I
- 7:06was strong enough. I had too many of my own
- 7:11resolved things. I thought, who am I to help
- 7:16anyone? So I didn't take the path, I
- 7:21took a different one. And now, now I am a senior
- 7:26leader in the Tony Robbins organization.
- 7:30I coach people through their deepest fears.
- 7:35I hold space for transformation. I became a kind of therapist.
- 7:42I just came through a different door.
- 7:45And every single experience, every tear, every failure, every
- 7:53too slow, every not yet made me better at walking through it
- 8:00with someone else. The long way was not the wrong
- 8:06way. The long way was the
- 8:09preparation. So I want to ask you something
- 8:15gently right now. What if you stopped measuring
- 8:20your life against where you thought you should be and
- 8:26started asking, what has all of this made me capable of?
- 8:33What if the decade you think you wasted was actually the decade
- 8:41that built your empathy, your wisdom, your resilience?
- 8:48What if the path you didn't take was protecting you from a
- 8:53version of yourself that wasn't ready yet?
- 8:59What if, stay with me, What if the timing was always right?
- 9:08Life is not a race with a finish line.
- 9:12Life is a river, and rivers don't run straight.
- 9:18They curve, they pull, they rush over rocks, they slow into
- 9:25still, glassy calm. Every bend serves a purpose.
- 9:32Every stone shapes the current. And you, You are not behind.
- 9:39You are exactly where the river has brought you.
- 9:46You have done things that took courage, even if no one was
- 9:52watching, even if you didn't call it courage at the time.
- 9:59You have already lived more bravely than you know, and every
- 10:05skill you built, every language you learned, every strange city
- 10:11you arrived in alone, it belongs to you.
- 10:16It counts, it always counted. Here is your invitation for
- 10:22today. Just one thing.
- 10:26Take 1 chapter of your life that you have been calling too late,
- 10:33too slow, or not enough and try giving it a new meaning.
- 10:41Ask yourself, what did that chapter give me?
- 10:47What did it? What did I become because of it?
- 10:52How does it serve the person I am right now?
- 10:57You don't have to rewrite your whole story today.
- 11:02Just shift the light on one page.
- 11:07Just let one paragraph breathe differently.
- 11:11That's enough. That's the beginning.
- 11:16Because the most powerful shift you will ever make in your life
- 11:22is not a change in circumstance. It is a change in meaning.
- 11:29It is the moment you stop being the victim of your timeline and
- 11:36start being the author of your story.
- 11:41You are not too late, you are not behind, you are not the sum
- 11:48of your delays. You are someone who kept going.
- 11:55That that is everything. Before I let you go today, I
- 12:02want to offer you something from the heart.
- 12:06If something in this episode landed in you, if a part of you
- 12:12heard a question and thought, yes, that's exactly it, but I
- 12:19don't know where to start. I want to invite you to a free
- 12:25one-on-one coaching session with me.
- 12:29Not a sales call, not a pitch, a real conversation.
- 12:34Just you and me, where we look together at the meaning you've
- 12:41been giving to your path and we see what shifts when we hold it
- 12:48differently. I have done this journey the
- 12:52long way, the winding way, the why did it take so long way, And
- 13:01I'm here on the other side of it with my hands open, ready to
- 13:08walk it with you. You can find the link in the
- 13:12show notes or just reach out to me directly.
- 13:17I would love to hear from you. Thank you for being here today.
- 13:23Thank you for trusting me with your ear, your time and your
- 13:29heart. You are not alone on this road.
- 13:34See you in the next episode on Thursday.
- 13:38Take good care of yourself and remember the meaning you give
- 13:45your life. This is your superpower.
- 14:16Yeah.
