- 0:12SPEAKER_04: Come to me oh who I did and heavy burden oh who I did come to me I'll be your shelter my yoga sea my burden eyed and you can find rest for your soul rest for your soul are you tired and troubled weighed down by a heavy lord there's one who knows the heavy you hold and he says come to me all who are weary and heavy burden all who are hurting come to me I'll be your shelter my yoke is easy my burden light and you can find rest for your soul rest for your soul.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: I'm glad that song came to me as a reminder of who to turn to in these times of sadness and grief and sorrow, strife and pain.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: All the feels when you lose someone who's close to you.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: We're going through it right now, and it just comes out of nowhere.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know why or how, and lots of unanswered questions.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: There is prayers, and there is hope, and there is faith.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: And as we're processing all the emotions from last Friday night, Saturday morning, I'm sure happy to have such a good community that can talk about these things and be together and do better.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: It's an eye-opener.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: When tragedy strikes, especially to such a young, beautiful person who seems to have their whole life ahead of them.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: And you don't you don't always know what to say or what to do or how to go forward, but that peace, that peace that surpasses all understanding is how we're called to live here today in this present moment.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: Here today, gone tomorrow.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: We don't know when our time is up, and I think Emerald was proof of that.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, she was just still in her 20s.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: Emerald was 29 years old when she passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident that could have been avoided, I would like to say.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: And you kind of go through of only someone stopped them, if only that that that didn't happen that night or this way, or and you can you're you know your mind starts racing with all the different possibilities on how the accident could have been avoided, but it's too late, it's far too late.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: We can't turn back time.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: And the fact remains that Emerald and Eric, who is the driver of the motorcycle, are gone, and they left behind full, robust, and beautiful lives.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Children, loved ones, sisters, brothers, mothers, and and all they can do is grief and mourn in their special way, and all the feelings of anger and frustration and despair will come to be, and we're only human.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Those feelings are very valid, but I guess I feel it in my heart to share the power of God's word and his promise to us and comfort people and console people in that regard.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: That's that's all I know how.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Taking that day where you just I felt so drained, and just like the energy, it was heavy, it still is heavy.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: But on my way to church on Sunday, there was this song that I had never heard before, and I listened to a lot of Christian music, okay?
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: It was a hallelujah even here, a hallelujah, even here, and I had to revisit what hallelujah meant, and it means to praise God, praise God.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: It seems kind of wild when we're like, how are we supposed to praise right now in this time where our heart feels like it's in two, and we have all the unanswered questions and all the fields, but that's what we're called to do is a hallelujah, even here, to bring that hope, to bring that peace, to bring that faith.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: And when you walk with the Prince of Peace, you start to feel your heart just come back together, and you start to feel all those feelings just kind of disappear and come to side.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: And so I know people are hurting right now, and I know there is an empty hole in your heart, but this is the call to to pray on it and know who we serve as child of God, and I and I'd like to say make no mistake, you know, that everything is going according to plan.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: And even though it's not our plan, I mean, we're right up to here, we don't see the full picture, and love one another.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: Like on social media, when the the reports hit of all what had happened, you know, minds are erasing and people are making assumptions and speculation and and and some sometimes just being downright mean and insensitive to the situation.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: And I asked for people to keep them in your prayers as well, because they're it's their hearts that are hardened and have to spew those negative things.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: But I must say, I do not want to focus on the negative things because for that one negative person with the hardened heart, there were hundreds of other beautiful people that wrote such kind words and were compassionate and understanding and and really exemplified what unity could be for a community when a tragedy like this happens.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Nobody ever asks for any anything like this to happen, you know.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: Nobody foresees it happening, but it does.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: And that is the devil at work trying to break through your faith and and give you feelings of hopelessness and despair.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: And we can't hold those feelings too close to our heart, because in every single word in the Bible is telling us to celebrate life, to be to be joyous, to be the light in the dark.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: And you can't fight evil with evil, you can't fight hate with hate.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: So if it's not bringing any peace or solace to the situation where people are already hurting, just pray it, give it to God.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: Come to the cross and lay it at the his feet, and you will find rest for your soul as we put to rest this beautiful soul emerald.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, I went right into you know the healing and in and the finding you know the treasures in the trials, but I worked that night on Friday night.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: It was Meg and Holly are longtime bartenders at Cheryl's Club 175.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: I would call all of them veteran bartenders at Cheryl's.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: It was Meg and Holly's going away party.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Meg is moving to another state to start a family, and Holly was going to school to be an EMT, and it was their well wishes party.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: It was their sending them out with a bang.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: It was a celebration for the next steps and you know, kind of getting the Cheryl's Club crew, the Cheryl's Club family all together and really send them off and make them feel so loved and and and tell them all the things that we admire about them and and you know lift them on high as a proper send-off.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: And Emerald was there that night.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: She was good friends with a lot of the her coworkers.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: And I'm talking like tight.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Like I think some of her best friends were our employees at Cheryl's Club.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: It was family.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: She worked there for eight and a half years, Emerald did.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: So pretty much since she was 21 on.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: She showed up and she opened her heart to the community to hold help hold space, is what Charles Club does so well.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: It's a community-based bar.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: We know people by name, we know their drinks, we know their families, we know their history, their past.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: We we support and encourage.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: And I felt like Emerald just really embodied that so much.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: And she actually worked that Friday night, five to nine for the fish fry.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: And she got to eat her favorite fish tacos.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: And she was in such a wonderful mood.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: She was just really pleasant from what I remember working.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: I was behind the copper top serving for Friday night as we're losing, you know, some of our staff.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I'll help out.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: And I was so happy I did.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: So happy I was there to see the Jubilee and celebration.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: It was a vibe.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: It was busy, things, you know, people are moving and shaking.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Emerald, well, Emerald was there in revelry with Meg and Holly.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: They had a ton of familiar faces and friends and family show up and wanting to be there.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: And you know, some shenanigans were happening with with licking and and and dancing and God only knows what, right?
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Like I didn't see it all, but I know they were having a really, really good time.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: And which I was happy to see.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: You know, that's why we're that's why you you go to Cheryl's is to kind of let loose and you know lose your ambitions and be amongst loved ones.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: But I had to leave.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: And no, I'm not used to being on my feet that much.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: I wore the wrong shoes.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: I had cowboy cowgirl boots on.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: It was line dancing earlier on in that evening.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: So I thought I'd wear my cowgirl boots.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: I wasn't supposed to work the whole shift.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: I was, you know, helping out.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: And anyways, I I was just called home to my house.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: I I had to go to bed.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: I was walking funny.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: I was so tired.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: And in my mind, I was waking up to go to the farmer's market at 5 a.m.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: the next day.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: So by 2 15, I was like, all right, guys.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: And I and I spoke with some people, making sure that everybody was to get out, you know, at 2:30.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: That is the hard cutoff where every single person has to leave the building.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: And and you know, the old the old you ain't gotta go home, but you can't stay here.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: And and also that a person was supposed to help them with the stocking and ice and all of that, that that closing duties.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: And so out the door I went.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: And as I was leaving out the door, one of the bartenders too gave me a big, huge hug and told me how much she loved me, and that was really special.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: And I remember Emerald did come and ask for two waters, and I believe I served her her last two waters.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: Said, love you, Em.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Good night.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: And no sooner did I get home and I and I was in my bed.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: I remember I was just laying down.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: My telephone rings.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: And I don't get calls that late at 2 30 in the morning anymore.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: Not having working nights for a long time.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: So I got up and I got that telephone.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: And it was Holly who was calling me, just bawling.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: She was just beside herself, just it was hard to make out words.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: And she's Ashley, you know, Ashley, Ashley, Emerald's gone.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: I said, what?
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Emerald's gone.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: I said, what do you mean, gone?
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: And she's like, she's not with us anymore, she's dead.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: I went silent.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: I did I didn't know what to say.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: What do you say?
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: What would you say?
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: I said, oh my, oh my God.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: Oh my lord.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: What happened?
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: What on earth happened?
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: And she's just, like I said, just beside herself.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: It was hard to really to understand what she was saying, but she was she was able to tell me it was a motorcycle accident.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: And the bike went down.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: And they were not wearing helmets.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: And they were going way too fast.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: And what went for a joy ride turned into a nightmare.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Especially for Holly, who well for everyone, but Holly was is going to school to be an EMT.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: She tried to revive Emerald.
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: I just couldn't be your best friend.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: I would like, it's comforting to to think that she passed instantly.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: See the bike went down and they seen sparks.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: And they said it was quiet.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: The bike wasn't even running.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: It just quiet.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: They had hit the Sherman Road sign about a block up from Cheryl's club and flew.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: I mean flew in the air.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: It's the only way to, it's 200 yards into power boxes.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: If you go past Cheryl's Club now by kind of where the Ackerville Garage is, you'll see the flowers and the in the little memorial they had created there.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: Just right up the way.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: And there was people outside.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: They went running up to one took his bike up, and Holly sprung into action and her husband and his sister.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: But there was nothing they could do.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Eric was gone as well.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: I guess when the paramedics arrived, they really tried to revive him.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: It was most chance, but he both were gone.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Passed away on the scene.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: And hey, Eric was given rides on his motorcycle.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: I guess this was something he did.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: He was given people rides before.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Why at bar clothes?
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Lord only knows.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: I'd like to say, you know, he wasn't drunk.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: Nobody stopped him when they when the girls went on the bike.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: He was part of a biker club.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: So he was a good experienced driver.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: And he gave a girl a ride before Emerald.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: Right before.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: We seen it.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: We didn't see the accident on the Sheryl's Cub cameras.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: We could see the first lady getting on the bike and him taking a right out of Sheryl's Cub and going down the road 30 seconds.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: You could see from standing there, he didn't go out of eyesight where he would turn around and came back.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: It was a one-minute ride according to the camera.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: One minute.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: He was gone with the first lady who went on the back of his motorcycle.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: And telling you, no sooner did he come back, according to the cameras, did he did he come back?
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: Did Emerald hop on that bike fast?
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, she was on it.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: And he took off like a bat out of hell.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Down the same way, down 175.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: And he was gone for longer.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: That was she wasn't on that bike for more.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Than two minutes.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Two minutes.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Cost them their lives.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: And you could see them coming back.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: I don't know how fast they were going.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: I know the speed limit's thirty.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: I had to guess.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't know.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety miles an hour.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: Fast.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: Too fast.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Way too fast.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: And for what?
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Flying by sparks.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: And then the scene to ensue.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: And to get that call from Holly.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: Praying extra hard for her, who was, I mean, if she can, if she can get through having see your best friend in that in that in that condition, that girl is she she's she can get through anything.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: And I've been praying hard, hard, hard, hard for Holly.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: And it was just at the bar that day, that night, that I heard Holly, I was doing dishes, and she I overheard her telling a guest that she uh this was her calling to be an EMT.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: She wanted to help people.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: She wanted to be, she wants to be in service.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: And I connect, I was able to connect with her today, and she's feeling quite overwhelmed because she is behind on her schoolwork.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: But she's gonna keep going.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: She is not gonna let this attack from the evil forces stop her from her calling and her mission, and that's to help people, and she feels that in her heart.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: And so God bless it.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: God bless her.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: I hope she she keeps going.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: And I encourage her to do so.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: And if you know Holly, by all means, she wants to do more, be more, care more, do better.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: And she will.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: And that was Emerald.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: So we're talking about all of Emerald's aspirations.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: Today we were asked to talk with TMJ4.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: It was so hard.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: It was so hard to talk with the news station.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: My mom was crying, Cheryl was crying, and we all were crying.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: Kylie, Hallie, and I were like, oh, the leader of the the leader of the back, she was crying.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: And her her voice was if if you feel like something's wrong, if if you don't see something that you think is smart or you know from experience, say stop.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Don't do that, guys.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: It's not a good idea.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: But you can't it just urge people to stand up for what is right.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: I thought that was a good message, a good lesson, a takeaway.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: But in that we were just and my message was of emerald character.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: You know, she was kind and caring and compassionate, adventurous, a huge heart.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: She held space for people, people loved her so much.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: I pray that she felt that love so good and and that and that she knew Jesus' love for her.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: Always, I don't know if she knew Jesus.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: And then I go, should I?
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Is there something I could have known to love?
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: She was so young.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: And her daughter.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: How do you even begin to tell a child that your mother is gone?
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: And all the questions that take around raising that beautiful girl.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: One day at a time, one step at a time, step by step, day by day.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: God is good.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: He will show the way.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: She's with her father.
- 26:37SPEAKER_02: Good love and care.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: But she, Emerald is always ambitious.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Remember when she was doing financial planning, working for Northwestern Mutual.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, I worked with her for eight and a half years to see her grow and evolve and be the beautiful person we know her to be.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: And then she found her calling, and that was sitting with people, holding space yet again, and in service, doing nails, and and manicures, pedicures.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: She went to school for it.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: She was good at it.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: She did, I had the privilege to have my daughter have her nails done by her the Monday before it happened, that Monday, that same week.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: And now every time I see Nevea's nails, I know that it's just fleeting, right?
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Like they're not gonna last forever.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: It's just a little piece of her.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: And I learned about her that day.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: We we had a good, a nice talk.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Learned more about her, spent some time with her.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: She had some serious talent.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: She was an artist.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: And and I know when I got my nails done for a period of time with my nail lady, it was like therapy in there, getting your nails done.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: And good conversation and sisterhood and and unity and friendship.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: And I felt like that was a really special way for her to share her heart with others.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Keep her heart soft and open.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: She was a really good listener.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: I'm sure she heard it all.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Especially working working at Cheryl's and living above there.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: She was family.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: And a friend.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: And a coworker.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: Now none of us are perfect, but she was well on her way.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna miss her so much.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: She will be so missed.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: She is so loved.
- 29:29SPEAKER_02: You'll never forget her.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: I told Marcus at TMJ4 today, I said, you know, with the Blue Room at Cheryl's Club 175, I hear of every single time I am at Cheryl's Club, the Blue Room gets brought up.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: It has left a lasting legacy there at Cheryl's Club, even though my mom and dad has owned Cheryl's Club.
- 29:58SPEAKER_02: Well, when my dad was around, he's no longer with us, God rest his soul.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: But when he was around, they it has been 27 years since my mom has ran Cheryl's Club.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: And the Blue Room still gets brought up, right?
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Every day.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: That I'm there.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: And I I just I think Emerald will be too.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: I think she is part of Cheryl's Club legacy.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: I think people will always have her and hold her in her hearts, in their hearts, and I hope they do.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: And I hope Cheryl's Club can hold space for people that are grieving, that need consoling, that need a friend or someone to talk to.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Because our P our bartenders are more like family and they are there on the front lines.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: And that's I've been keeping my mom Cheryl and my Aunt Darlene and everybody that works at Cheryl's Club behind that copper top.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: I lift them up in prayer.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: I lift them high because they are on the front lines of all of these emotions, of all of these earthly human feelings that are going around.
- 31:15SPEAKER_02: And I hope they can pray with them and pray over people.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: And that is just that you know how wild God works is my I've seen so much faith sh come out in this time of tragedy, especially from my mother.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: She had a prayer circle at Emerald at the at the site of this sight on scene.
- 31:42SPEAKER_02: But they all had held hands together around where the crash happened.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: And they said a beautiful prayer together and made things just a little bit lighter.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: My mom has been praying for people, offering prayers, asking if they need prayers, giving hugs.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: That healing touch means so much.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Just a hug can make you feel better and lighter.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: I want people to know that they're not in this alone.
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: You were never meant to carry this weight alone.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: So come to him.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: And you can find him even at Cheryl's Club 175.
- 32:27SPEAKER_02: I know the bar, it's supposed to be really taboo.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: You know, not don't talk about politics or religion.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe let's not talk about religion, okay?
- 32:36SPEAKER_02: But let's talk about, we can talk about faith.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: And it is okay to talk about spirituality.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: And honestly, that is what this tragedy has shown me that he shows up, he shows up even in the places that you would least expect him to.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: He is always there.
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: And I was able to share the gospel, a psalm for people, which I'm gonna also share with you a psalm on social media.
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: And before this, if you would ask me if I would have ever shared a psalm on social media from Cheryl's Club's page, huh?
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'll inject them here or there, you know, and talk about them because I'm on the journey, okay?
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: I'm a full-on believer, and I want to go tell it on the mountain.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: The good news, the life-saving news that you are forgiven with grace and mercy, and you are so loved and cared for, the ultimate father, an eye of peace, knowing the Emerald is with our father, she is at peace.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: She is up there with her sister, with her loved ones, with those in the past, and she is dancing, she's probably twerking, being the spitfire self that she is, and we will meet again, and we will dance and sing and laugh, and until then, I will cherish all of the memories, all of the laughs shared, all the vulnerability that we've exchanged together, you know, sharing a place of work.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: We will meet again.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: But for now, I'd like to share this psalm.
- 34:59SPEAKER_02: And be and before I do, I would like to note that you know the speculation.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: I don't know, we don't know why the bike went down.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: If something happened, we don't know.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: I don't know if we'll ever know.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: We don't know why God called them home at that time.
- 35:28SPEAKER_02: You know, I know a lot of this has been about emeralds, but there's Eric too, who was a guest of Cheryl's Club, and the people there loved him as well and made him think he made them feel safe, and he felt safe around them.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: And I pray for his family and all the relationships that he had.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: And we don't know what happened to him.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: We don't know if something happened to him according to the autopsy that made him lose control, or if if it was the motorcycle.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: Was speed a factor, yes.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: Was alcohol a factor, yes.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: Or was it something more?
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: We don't know, but it sure doesn't help to speculate because what's done is done.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: The choices were made, and we have to be here to pick up the pieces together in community, in unity.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: And here's some words from Psalm 23, a psalm of David.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: And this psalm is to help restore and lead us to brighter, better days.
- 37:05SPEAKER_02: I shall not want.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: He lets me lie down in green pastures.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: He leads me besides the still and quiet waters.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: He refreshes and restores my soul, life.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: And even though I walk through the sunless valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: Your rod to protect and your staff to guide, they comfort and console me.
- 37:49SPEAKER_02: Let the good shepherd comfort and console you.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: I know this news came as a shock to everyone.
- 38:04SPEAKER_02: But let's let's learn from it and look out for one another and stand up for what is right and get and praise God through it all.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: And he will work, he will work.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: Let him work.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: He wants us to be protected, guided, and comforted.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: He wants to set a table of blessings before us in the very face of our enemies.
- 38:33SPEAKER_02: He wants to anoint us with the oil of joy instead of mourning.
- 38:37SPEAKER_02: He wants our cup of blessings to overflow continually in thanksgiving and praise him for his goodness, mercy, and unfailing love toward us.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: And he wants us to live moment by moment in his presence.
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: Don't let this past haunt you.
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: All of these things are part of his good plan for each of us, regardless of how far we may have fallen.
- 39:11SPEAKER_02: And it said, even to remember where there is a shadow, there must be light.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: The light of the world, Jesus has promised to be with you always.
- 39:21SPEAKER_02: Ask him right now to comfort and guide you and know that he is walking with you in every situation.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: He is walking with us in every situation.
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: This one included.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: So you can find rest for your soul.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: Now, for those of you wondering when the celebration of life is that is to be determined.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: I know her mother, Dawn, had mentioned it will be after the funeral.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: The celebration will be at Cheryl's.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: And I like that spirit of celebration over Emerald's life because even though she was here for a short period of time, she lived it.
- 40:09SPEAKER_02: And her true, authentic, bold, and beautiful self, she lived it.
- 40:14SPEAKER_02: And she tried and she showed up and she continued to put a smile on her face and be of service in the best way she knew how.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: Please, if you have it in your heart and you have the funds, you know, ask and you shall receive all the money's going to her daughter, Sammy.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: She's only three years old.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: Maybe four in November.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: And boy, she's gonna need all the help she can get growing up without a mom.
- 41:00SPEAKER_02: And there is also a memorial car show that, by the grace of God, an angel came forth, and that was Doug and his wife April, through Main Street Muscle Car Productions.
- 41:15SPEAKER_02: They host our Monday night car shows, and they offered to do the car show in honor of Emerald, where all the proceeds will go directly to her family, to Sammy.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: And that is Saturday, September 21st, 5 to dusk.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: There's gonna be 50-50, silent auction, rascal items, you name it.
- 41:37SPEAKER_02: We're gonna try to raise as much money for Emerald as possible for Emerald's family.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: And it'd be a good time to get together and share memories and stories and comfort and console one another.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: Be with us out here, you know, spreading hope and love and peace and joy.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: All things that we need to handle this immense grief that has been felt across the Washington County area.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: And God bless her heart for making such a beautiful impact.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: You know, she she went out just as quick as she came, and and her legacy that she left of how people remember her and hearing those stories is just so so beautiful and so touching, and and I and I just pray that I know she's at peace, she's with the Prince of Peace, and I just pray that you're at peace as well.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: And if you need anyone to talk to, you can always reach out to us at Cheryl's Club 175.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: We're here for it, and we're gonna keep on rocking in the free world and providing a safe, clean, fun environment for people to be a community, to unite together, and and exchange thoughts and ideas about faith included.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: And I'm still on that worship night idea to infuse his goodness.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: Sometimes we're and reach the unreachable and and spread the good news about his love and salvation in worship because he is worthy, and so are you hallelujah! Even here, step by step, day by day, lead me, Lord.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: I pray.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna end with the healing heart chakra sound bowl.
- 44:12SPEAKER_02: Just taking all my little gifts, whatever I have, and offering them in service to you.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: And in loving, beautiful memory of Emerald and Eric.
- 44:26SPEAKER_02: I did not know Eric, but from what I've heard, he was one heck of a guy.
- 44:32SPEAKER_02: He had a huge heart, he lent a helping hand.
- 44:39SPEAKER_03: Living in the moment.
- 44:45SPEAKER_02: Isn't that what we're called to do?
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: To chat with each other.
- 44:53SPEAKER_03: Be in the moment, keep showing up, keep doing the best we can.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: I forgive you.
- 45:07SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 45:11SPEAKER_03: I love you.
- 45:15SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: And be open to the signs.
- 45:34SPEAKER_02: She's powerful.
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: It seemed like every time I spoke with Emerald about Emeralds, or it was raining this week.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: The rain.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: It was like you mentioned her name, and I don't know where rain, right before I was about to do this podcast, rain.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: When we were interviewing at TMJ4 with her and talking about the incident, rain, and so much of when we were trying to figure out what wrap our minds around what could have happened when that motorcycle went by, the lights flickered.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I don't know.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: I just feel her spirit.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: I feel it really strong.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: And be open to the nature, be open to the signs, be open to the healing, be open to the peace.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: This too shall pass, and we're gonna get through this together.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: I love you guys.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: I hope you feel my heart and and and reach out to the other people and keep them in your prayers because it does matter.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: God bless.
