A 57-year-old man named David Tyrone Shaw is facing first-degree assault charges after allegedly firing two shots at another person early Tuesday morning, one of which struck the victim in the back. The incident began when a hospital called police about a gunshot wound, initially leading officers to West Powell Street — but no evidence was found there.
