- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six sixteen through six eighteen, A
- 0:17Speaker 1: surprising outcome, White Chase versus Vigo, Caesar's defeat the powerful
- 0:25Speaker 1: Grisly Magnum, and raid an assassin from dress Rosa in
- 0:35Speaker 1: these episodes, so it turns out that Law and Smoker
- 0:40Speaker 1: are working together. I am very proud of them because
- 0:45Speaker 1: just I wouldn't have guessed the two of them would
- 0:47Speaker 1: have been able to make this work. And Loofy busts
- 0:52Speaker 1: out a new move. He busts a move. Welcome to
- 1:00Speaker 1: spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Michael for commissioning this episode. Michael,
- 1:27Speaker 1: what's up if you're out there. Appreciate you very much. Y'all.
- 1:33Speaker 1: When I tell you that this show just keeps getting
- 1:37Speaker 1: more bonkers, I don't even like the It feels like
- 1:41Speaker 1: at this point it's just sort of beginning to lose
- 1:43Speaker 1: all meaning when I say that, and I accept that,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but it is so funny to me. Like one of
- 1:52Speaker 1: my favorite parts of this episode is a moment when
- 1:58Speaker 1: Trafalgar Law decides that he says something like I should
- 2:04Speaker 1: have known better than to trust you with a plan
- 2:07Speaker 1: to loofy and guys, I just wanted to yell, yes,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you should have known better. Everybody warned you about how
- 2:18Speaker 1: he is. You were told, I don't feel like this
- 2:23Speaker 1: is you know what I'm saying, like, you should not
- 2:26Speaker 1: be surprised by this my guy. But Lufy just basically
- 2:31Speaker 1: has no interest in an overarching plan. He just feels like, well,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you keep people around that you want to be around,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and you ditch the people that you don't want to
- 2:44Speaker 1: be around, which is honestly a philosophy that overall I
- 2:48Speaker 1: can respect, you know, I think it's actually a pretty
- 2:51Speaker 1: solid idea, But an overall plan, this is not a
- 2:57Speaker 1: thing that he really gives any like, It's not even
- 3:03Speaker 1: I am surprised that he even remembered there was a plan.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I was expecting that when Law said to him, like,
- 3:13Speaker 1: well the plan that we agreed upon, was that he'd
- 3:16Speaker 1: just be like, wait, there was a plan. But instead
- 3:20Speaker 1: he doesn't try to pretend he doesn't know. He's just like, yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: but that guy sucks, so whatever, Like we don't have to,
- 3:28Speaker 1: you know, like we'll find a different way. And it's
- 3:33Speaker 1: just the idea of what it is that law is planning.
- 3:39Speaker 1: My assumption is that if he were to ask Loofy, well,
- 3:42Speaker 1: then how do you propose that we get this thing
- 3:44Speaker 1: done that I want to get done, Lufey's answer would
- 3:47Speaker 1: simply be, well, we will walk in there and we
- 3:50Speaker 1: will do the thing. We'll just walk in because Lufy
- 3:54Speaker 1: tackles everything extremely head on. And I just think that
- 3:59Speaker 1: Law overestimates based on the thing is that so often
- 4:06Speaker 1: Loufy doesn't need a plan because yeah, boy has a
- 4:11Speaker 1: bunch of other people on his team who watch his
- 4:13Speaker 1: ass and make sure that shit goes at least somewhat
- 4:18Speaker 1: in the right direction. So Louvi can sort of afford
- 4:22Speaker 1: to dick around because he isn't suffering the consequences of
- 4:28Speaker 1: his bad decisions. And this is the sort of thing
- 4:32Speaker 1: that like, if it were anybody other than Loofy, I
- 4:35Speaker 1: would very much be like guys, let him fucking like fail,
- 4:42Speaker 1: don't save him, Let him suffer the consequences and see
- 4:47Speaker 1: what it's like, and then maybe he'll begin to take
- 4:51Speaker 1: things more seriously. But I don't believe that will happen
- 4:56Speaker 1: with Loufy. I have no faith in him. Like suddenly
- 5:00Speaker 1: seeing the light and understanding, like you know what I'm saying,
- 5:05Speaker 1: it's just and I don't know whether this means that
- 5:08Speaker 1: Loofy doesn't grow as a person, because it's it's really
- 5:12Speaker 1: difficult to say. Loofy his abilities certainly increase, right, like,
- 5:24Speaker 1: he grows in that sense, but in terms of his
- 5:29Speaker 1: like understanding of people or strategy or just his sort
- 5:34Speaker 1: of like growth about other human beings and how they
- 5:40Speaker 1: operate and how he should interact with them, I'm not
- 5:45Speaker 1: sure he does grow at all. And I'm not certain
- 5:52Speaker 1: whether I should expect that. It sort of felt like
- 5:56Speaker 1: we were heading in the direction of him growing when
- 6:00Speaker 1: Ace was killed and he was beginning to feel, like,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you know, he was expressing like some self loathing about
- 6:07Speaker 1: the fact that he let it happen. According to him
- 6:10Speaker 1: that like, you know, I can't believe that I keep
- 6:13Speaker 1: saying I'm going to be King of the Pirates. That's
- 6:15Speaker 1: a fucking joke. And it was really kind of the
- 6:19Speaker 1: most depth that we have seen ever coming from movie.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So I think that I was expecting his attitude overall
- 6:32Speaker 1: to have changed a little bit more once we started
- 6:36Speaker 1: to get into the shit again, and it really hasn't.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I'm honestly like surprised that I'm not more disappointed
- 6:47Speaker 1: by that. I think if you had told me that
- 6:51Speaker 1: he wasn't going to change his you know, his emo
- 6:53Speaker 1: all that much, that I would have expected this to
- 6:57Speaker 1: be a bit of a letdown because I was hoping
- 7:00Speaker 1: to get something more from him. But honestly, in practice,
- 7:06Speaker 1: I can't be that mad about it, because to a degree,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you can't change like the fundamentals of your personality, you know.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I don't know, And it's possible that we just haven't
- 7:23Speaker 1: gotten to a place in the plot where anything that
- 7:29Speaker 1: he has learned is really going to be at the
- 7:31Speaker 1: forefront and we're going to be able to see it. Yet.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It might just be the sort of thing that, like
- 7:36Speaker 1: we will in time begin to spot the moments, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: But as of right now, I am just feeling like
- 7:44Speaker 1: we're just dealing with the same loofy that we have
- 7:48Speaker 1: always dealt with, and he just has bigger, better powers,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but otherwise hasn't changed as a person very much. Saraphim says,
- 8:03Speaker 1: One thing I've seen said a lot is that one
- 8:06Speaker 1: piece is a great example of the difference between character
- 8:09Speaker 1: growth and character development. That's interesting, Yeah, that's interesting. Okay,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna kind of keep that in mind. That said,
- 8:22Speaker 1: all right, let's start off with a surprising outcome White
- 8:26Speaker 1: Chase versus Virgo. Now, this episode begins with Caesar Clown
- 8:35Speaker 1: being very upset that Lufy broke his nose. You guys,
- 8:40Speaker 1: this isn't even the Grizzly punch yet, but it is
- 8:44Speaker 1: so fun because Lufy has apparently created like a straight
- 8:49Speaker 1: up indentation in Caesar's face once he takes his hand
- 8:54Speaker 1: away from his face, his fist has created these like
- 8:59Speaker 1: finger dibbits in his fist, has created finger divots in
- 9:04Speaker 1: the front of his face, and it is so freaky
- 9:07Speaker 1: because he keeps up with this. Like, the thing about
- 9:11Speaker 1: injuries on this show is that they tend to be
- 9:14Speaker 1: somewhat fleeting. You know, somebody will suffer a terrible injury,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and unless it's something that's meant to really stick with them.
- 9:23Speaker 1: For example, like Loofy and his injury on his chest
- 9:27Speaker 1: from defending Ace, which is like, you know, that's a
- 9:30Speaker 1: major character moment for him. That is something that there
- 9:35Speaker 1: remains a scar and you can see where this happened.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Or Zorro and his eye. But this usually is something
- 9:46Speaker 1: like they will disappear and it will not even be
- 9:50Speaker 1: until the end of the episode and they will have disappeared.
- 9:53Speaker 1: But this indent on his face sticks around for the
- 9:57Speaker 1: next two episodes. I think I believe he still got
- 10:01Speaker 1: it form Like most of the name, it may just
- 10:04Speaker 1: be this one I may be over remembering, but it
- 10:06Speaker 1: just stuck around so much longer than I thought it would.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And essentially what he does, and he does this a
- 10:16Speaker 1: couple different times, but Caesar makes this big speech to
- 10:22Speaker 1: Lufy about you don't know who you're messing with. The
- 10:27Speaker 1: person in charge of all of this is do Flamingo.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I work for him and if you are fucking with
- 10:32Speaker 1: that guy, you don't understand the connections that he has
- 10:37Speaker 1: and he could take you and all of your friends
- 10:40Speaker 1: down with you. So you really need to step back
- 10:45Speaker 1: and consider whether or not this is something that you
- 10:47Speaker 1: want to get entangled with because you may regret it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And as he's saying this, Lufy just begins to slowly
- 10:56Speaker 1: approach him, and I love it. Lufy is not answering him,
- 11:02Speaker 1: not saying anything, and he's just like, well, like, are
- 11:07Speaker 1: you are you even listening to me? Did you even
- 11:09Speaker 1: hear what I said? They'll rip you limb from limb
- 11:12Speaker 1: and dump you in the sea. Just a quick apology,
- 11:15Speaker 1: do it right now, and I can let you off
- 11:17Speaker 1: the hook. Do you guys want to know something funny?
- 11:21Speaker 1: I know that, like it's most likely that this guy
- 11:26Speaker 1: is full of shit. You know, a quick apology and
- 11:30Speaker 1: I'll let you off the hook. This dude was very
- 11:33Speaker 1: much ready to sacrifice all of his guys with the quickness.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And I have no reason to really believe when he
- 11:41Speaker 1: says we could just let this like be bygones, be
- 11:44Speaker 1: good bygones here. You know, I have no reason to
- 11:47Speaker 1: believe him when he says this, But I'm going to
- 11:51Speaker 1: confess to being a real numpty and admit that a
- 11:56Speaker 1: part of me felt like he seemed sincere here. He
- 12:00Speaker 1: really was just like, well, dude, we can just let
- 12:04Speaker 1: it end here. And sir, who do you think you
- 12:11Speaker 1: have learned nothing about your opponent in all of this time? Like,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I can't believe that he is still out here trying
- 12:22Speaker 1: to wheel and deal and intimidate Loofy. What has made
- 12:27Speaker 1: you think at any point dealing with him that this
- 12:30Speaker 1: is something that would work? So finally he does gas
- 12:34Speaker 1: Steele and he opens his mouth and it's like he
- 12:36Speaker 1: shoots a laser or something. It's like almost like he
- 12:40Speaker 1: breathed fire like a drag and he calls it a
- 12:43Speaker 1: gas burner attack. I think is the way he says it.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Now once it clears, he's taking a moment to gloat,
- 12:51Speaker 1: thinking that Lufy is okay, and then Lufy is directly
- 12:55Speaker 1: behind him, and it is extremely funny because the way
- 12:58Speaker 1: he screeches this voice actor delightful. I'm sure that since
- 13:04Speaker 1: you're a rookie, none of this feels real to you.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But Vigo is right here in the lab. Nobody can
- 13:11Speaker 1: stand against his armament. Hockey. They're all goners, smoker and
- 13:16Speaker 1: that fool law not to mention your crew. I don't understand.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I told you you're all going to die. Why aren't
- 13:24Speaker 1: you listening to me? I this is the only way
- 13:30Speaker 1: that this could work, right, Like, this is what you
- 13:33Speaker 1: have to do whenever you have got somebody who actually
- 13:36Speaker 1: is probably a little bit too powerful for Loofy, if
- 13:40Speaker 1: we're being honest, you have got to find a way
- 13:45Speaker 1: for Lufy to overcome them. And I guess what they
- 13:49Speaker 1: have decided is that they are just going to have
- 13:51Speaker 1: Caesar attempting to like reason with him, which is I suppose, sir,
- 14:02Speaker 1: if this is the way that you want to play it,
- 14:04Speaker 1: it's your funeral. But again, what about this man has
- 14:09Speaker 1: ever indicated that reason factors at all? So yeah, loofy
- 14:16Speaker 1: dexim once again. And then we jump back to Vigo
- 14:19Speaker 1: and Crocodile. Now, I'm gonna be honest, every time that
- 14:26Speaker 1: we went to Vigo and Crocodile, I'm saying Crocodile, Smoker,
- 14:33Speaker 1: Vigo and Smoker, I got a little bit bored. I
- 14:41Speaker 1: just don't I the once we have the reveal of
- 14:47Speaker 1: the fact that Smoker and Law are working together very well,
- 14:51Speaker 1: you know that I'm on board with. I like this twist.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I was sort of wondering what was taking us so long,
- 14:58Speaker 1: you know here and bouncing back and forth with the
- 15:01Speaker 1: same dialogue over and over again. This in particular got
- 15:06Speaker 1: drawn out way too much for me because it's just
- 15:11Speaker 1: a lot of like smokers just like, well, you betray
- 15:16Speaker 1: the Navy, I'll never let you get away with it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And then Vigo being like, you know, just saying that
- 15:22Speaker 1: you're going to kill me over and over. It doesn't
- 15:24Speaker 1: mean that that actually is going to make it happen,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and the dialogue is it's almost like verbatim. It feels
- 15:36Speaker 1: like from previous episodes, like we're just doing the same
- 15:39Speaker 1: thing over and over again. So if you can all
- 15:44Speaker 1: forgive me, I am going to just cover all of
- 15:49Speaker 1: what happens with these guys pretty quickly. And I confess
- 15:55Speaker 1: also that I was a little bit like confused over things.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So I think think that I have the answer to
- 16:01Speaker 1: my own question, but I just want to check about this,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and Saraphim is in the chant, so Saraphim, you can
- 16:05Speaker 1: share your opinion here with me. So we've got Smoker
- 16:10Speaker 1: and Vigo fighting. Eventually Law gets up and starts to
- 16:15Speaker 1: do the whole like, yeah, I'm gonna take you down,
- 16:18Speaker 1: and like, once again I would like to register my
- 16:22Speaker 1: feeling of sort of dude, he is literally holding your
- 16:26Speaker 1: heart in his hands. What exactly do you think you're
- 16:30Speaker 1: going to be able to do? So eventually Smoker gets
- 16:36Speaker 1: completely knocked out right, like just laid out, and I
- 16:44Speaker 1: was a little bit confused over He has this flashback
- 16:52Speaker 1: I guess you would call it where he is remembering
- 16:55Speaker 1: a conversation between him and to Shigi, and I can't
- 17:03Speaker 1: remember what exactly it is, he says, but she basically
- 17:06Speaker 1: is like, I don't care. Our men are in trouble,
- 17:11Speaker 1: are like they are depending on us, and we can't
- 17:14Speaker 1: let them die because of our pride, right. And then
- 17:21Speaker 1: he sort of comes back to himself, And what I
- 17:25Speaker 1: thought I was going to get here was a moment
- 17:30Speaker 1: of him realizing that like he maybe is actually going
- 17:34Speaker 1: to lose this fight, that he is letting his pride
- 17:39Speaker 1: dictate what he is doing, and that he should back
- 17:44Speaker 1: off and maybe like leave it to Law or I
- 17:50Speaker 1: don't know, something like this that it was going to be.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And now I think what it is is that he
- 17:57Speaker 1: is remembering the words that she said that caused him
- 18:01Speaker 1: to team up with Law. I just I hope that
- 18:08Speaker 1: I am getting that right, because when he continues fighting
- 18:13Speaker 1: after that initial moment, I was sort of taken aback
- 18:17Speaker 1: because I really thought I knew what it was that
- 18:21Speaker 1: he was what conclusion he was coming to based on
- 18:24Speaker 1: the flashback, like the lesson that he was going to learn,
- 18:26Speaker 1: you know. But he continues the fight and he starts
- 18:32Speaker 1: to create this cloud of smoke, and Vigo is straight
- 18:38Speaker 1: up like, I don't get what you're doing, dude, Like
- 18:43Speaker 1: you are making it a lot easier for me to
- 18:47Speaker 1: hit you. You know that, right, So why are you
- 18:52Speaker 1: doing this? And he is only considering this in the
- 18:56Speaker 1: most sort of condescending way. It doesn't seem to ever
- 19:01Speaker 1: occur to him that there is a method to the
- 19:04Speaker 1: like reason for this, you know. And so long story short,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Bruh is eventually surprised to find Law is behind him
- 19:21Speaker 1: and has got his heart back and is just popping
- 19:27Speaker 1: it back into place. Surprise bitch. I actually found this
- 19:33Speaker 1: really satisfying, because, Yeah, I was getting so bewildered by
- 19:40Speaker 1: the fact that Law seemed to be doing the same
- 19:42Speaker 1: thing over and over again. I was just like, what
- 19:45Speaker 1: are you Why do you keep picking the same fight?
- 19:49Speaker 1: All you're doing is getting up and being like, hey, dude,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you can't push me around? And then he goes can't
- 19:56Speaker 1: I and squeezes his heart and sends him to the floor, rinse, repeat.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So I was so like, why do you just I
- 20:05Speaker 1: keep expecting you to pull out a new weapon to
- 20:08Speaker 1: a new like, you know, means of defeating this man,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and you just keep not doing that. Stay down, my guy, Like,
- 20:18Speaker 1: what are you even getting out of this at this point? Well,
- 20:22Speaker 1: that's what so, uh yeah, good for you Law, Good
- 20:27Speaker 1: for you Smoker on being able to be a little
- 20:30Speaker 1: bit flexible with your with your morals. I guess, like,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I I'm not sure if that's the way that I
- 20:38Speaker 1: want to word it, but I will. But the two
- 20:41Speaker 1: of them working together was not something that I had considered.
- 20:43Speaker 1: So that's something. So let's come back to uh fucking Zoro,
- 20:51Speaker 1: who is carrying to Shigi and he is not listening
- 20:56Speaker 1: to what like she's telling where she's telling him to go.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Eventually he does, and it's like all he had to
- 21:04Speaker 1: do was keep going straight and he somehow just manages
- 21:06Speaker 1: to not do that, so he's carrying her. Eventually he
- 21:10Speaker 1: gets yelled at by Sanji who says that you're carrying
- 21:13Speaker 1: her like a sack of flower. That's so disrespectful. And
- 21:17Speaker 1: then we jump over to Soanji and Robin and Namy
- 21:21Speaker 1: with all the kids and Sonji giving the men the
- 21:24Speaker 1: orders to make sure that the kids are okay. It
- 21:27Speaker 1: turns out that Chopper is off with Mocha and he
- 21:31Speaker 1: is inducing vomiting because she ate all of those damn
- 21:34Speaker 1: candies at the same time, so she is going to
- 21:38Speaker 1: be okay. She winds up basically in like a coma,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and they are carrying her on a stretcher for pretty
- 21:48Speaker 1: much the rest of these two episodes, and she's got
- 21:50Speaker 1: like a bunch of bags hooked up to her like
- 21:52Speaker 1: IV style. We also have the samurai who has found
- 21:57Speaker 1: out that his son has been turned into a drag
- 22:00Speaker 1: and he is drawing the same conclusion that I did
- 22:03Speaker 1: a couple of episodes ago, assuming that the kid he
- 22:08Speaker 1: that the dragon that he like beat the hell out
- 22:11Speaker 1: of is his son and is understandably very very distressed
- 22:19Speaker 1: about this. I felt so bad, Like I just it
- 22:24Speaker 1: didn't occur to me that he would get the information
- 22:27Speaker 1: in the same way that I got the information, and
- 22:29Speaker 1: so he wouldn't have any way to like confirm that
- 22:32Speaker 1: this is not the case. So I just felt so
- 22:35Speaker 1: bad for him because he just keeps like yelling at
- 22:38Speaker 1: himself how he's this terrible person and totally unworthy of life.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And I was like, Bruh, you couldn't have known. Besides,
- 22:46Speaker 1: that wasn't your kid. Relax, But yeah, he is not
- 22:50Speaker 1: going to go easy on himself, as it turns out.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So let's see trying to make sure that I like
- 22:59Speaker 1: leave some room for oh, my god. Okay, oh, let's
- 23:04Speaker 1: talk about Oosap because he has been sent out here.
- 23:09Speaker 1: This dude, I'm gonna read this dialogue. The sea prism
- 23:14Speaker 1: stone handcuffs, they could be in this room and he's
- 23:17Speaker 1: pushing on this door. M No, I don't think they are.
- 23:21Speaker 1: The esop alarm going off in my head is telling
- 23:24Speaker 1: me there's nothing there and I'd be better off stealthily
- 23:26Speaker 1: running away. Yeah, that's it. I'll just pretend I checked
- 23:30Speaker 1: in there. I'll say I found a suspicious room and
- 23:32Speaker 1: looked inside for the sea prism stone handcuffs. And as
- 23:36Speaker 1: he is saying this, he has his arms crossed over
- 23:39Speaker 1: his chest and his eyes closed, and he's just sort
- 23:41Speaker 1: of focusing very firmly on developing this story that he
- 23:46Speaker 1: is going to tell. And as he does this, he
- 23:49Speaker 1: looks up and all of the men in the secret
- 23:52Speaker 1: room are there, and just look up and just like
- 23:57Speaker 1: what and he it's this expression on his face. It
- 24:03Speaker 1: is so funny, you guys, I have never seen I.
- 24:08Speaker 1: He turns this shade of like periwinkle. It's so it's
- 24:15Speaker 1: so confusing because usually when somebody turns red, that means
- 24:22Speaker 1: they're embarrassed. And when somebody turns like a pale kind
- 24:27Speaker 1: of sickly blue that means they are frightened, faint, you know,
- 24:34Speaker 1: something like that. And I have never seen anybody turn
- 24:41Speaker 1: this like weird lavender color before. I don't know. I'm like,
- 24:48Speaker 1: obviously what he is feeling in this moment has to
- 24:51Speaker 1: be fear, but it just is such a weird color
- 24:57Speaker 1: choice that I was watching the scene like like, wait,
- 25:00Speaker 1: what the hell is supposed to be going on right here?
- 25:03Speaker 1: I think it's just meant to be fear, But and
- 25:07Speaker 1: it's sort of weird because, like Oosup is also allegedly
- 25:11Speaker 1: coded to be black, even though his skin tone is
- 25:14Speaker 1: quite light, so I think I forget that sometimes as well.
- 25:18Speaker 1: And I'm sort of wondering if this is supposed to
- 25:20Speaker 1: be like the equivalent of a pale blue for sickly
- 25:26Speaker 1: on a white person. But he just mostly his like
- 25:31Speaker 1: complexion looks like a white person on this show, so
- 25:35Speaker 1: you know, forgive me if I'm not really seeing what
- 25:38Speaker 1: we're doing here, but it's just a little odd anyway.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I just wanted to comment on that because, in particular,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I found this so unusual even in this show. There's
- 25:47Speaker 1: a lot of consistency in the way certain emotions are depicted,
- 25:52Speaker 1: and this is something that I don't remember ever seeing before. So,
- 25:58Speaker 1: oh my god, you guys, I jumped away because I
- 26:00Speaker 1: said I was going to deal with the whole thing
- 26:02Speaker 1: with Smoker and Law and Virgo, and I didn't. I
- 26:09Speaker 1: got to finish it. So long story short, what Law
- 26:14Speaker 1: decides to do is cut not only Virgo but the
- 26:20Speaker 1: entire mountain in half. It took me a moment to
- 26:26Speaker 1: understand what I was looking at, because it's this very
- 26:30Speaker 1: they do the thing that they do sometimes where the
- 26:33Speaker 1: animation is stock still but there is sound happening, and
- 26:38Speaker 1: the camera is just sort of pulling back on the
- 26:41Speaker 1: animation to show more and more of the frame, but
- 26:44Speaker 1: there's not actual movement happening. And so it took me
- 26:49Speaker 1: a second as this camera pulled back, and I was
- 26:52Speaker 1: sort of like, wait, what is happening? And then I
- 26:56Speaker 1: saw these like you know, these tubs of like green
- 27:02Speaker 1: ooze around and my first thought was, oh, there's like
- 27:07Speaker 1: lots of vats in here. I didn't realize that. I
- 27:10Speaker 1: don't remember noticing those before. And then when the camera
- 27:15Speaker 1: pulls outside of the facility and you see that the
- 27:19Speaker 1: whole thing has been sliced in half. That was when
- 27:22Speaker 1: I was like, oh, those vats aren't vats, they were tanks,
- 27:27Speaker 1: and now they are cut in half. I will say,
- 27:34Speaker 1: is it just me or is this a little excessive?
- 27:43Speaker 1: I definitely had a moment of just like law, I
- 27:50Speaker 1: understand wanting to show off that you can do this
- 27:53Speaker 1: like insane out there thing, but also maybe a little
- 28:00Speaker 1: bit of precision wouldn't go amiss here my guy, you
- 28:04Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But uh, I guess that's just
- 28:07Speaker 1: not too much of a priority for him. And it
- 28:11Speaker 1: does cut Vigo in half as well, granted, but it
- 28:15Speaker 1: was just such a weird moment because I was like,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I am I understanding this correctly? And I am. And
- 28:23Speaker 1: then he continues to like cut Vigo into more and
- 28:29Speaker 1: more pieces, And I would absolutely be lying if I
- 28:34Speaker 1: didn't tell you guys that I was fucking cackling, because
- 28:38Speaker 1: there comes a point where Vigo is continuing to talk
- 28:43Speaker 1: cash shit and he just slices Vigo's head in half.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I lost my mind. I am assuming that this, like
- 28:55Speaker 1: Vigo is fine. Everybody who has been cut in half
- 28:58Speaker 1: by this guy has all been able to put themselves
- 29:01Speaker 1: back together again. So this does not seem like anything
- 29:07Speaker 1: ultimately debilitating, which is sort of weird. I would think
- 29:11Speaker 1: that you would want to put this man down down,
- 29:15Speaker 1: but I don't know, I guess not. But yeah, so
- 29:20Speaker 1: the fact that he just like cuts his head in
- 29:22Speaker 1: half and is just like, you know what, fuck you man,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I'm sick of hearing it. I've genuinely illo welled at that.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I was not expecting that at all. It just seemed like,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I it seemed like a overreaction. I feel like saying
- 29:42Speaker 1: that it was an overreaction makes me sound insane considering everything.
- 29:48Speaker 1: But there's a lot of people in this building, you
- 29:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Like, there's a part of me
- 29:54Speaker 1: that does kind of feel a little bit like, how
- 29:58Speaker 1: do you come off any better than Caesar in this equation?
- 30:06Speaker 1: When you're cutting an entire building in half that houses
- 30:09Speaker 1: also your alleged allies, that feels like you're putting absolutely
- 30:16Speaker 1: everybody in danger here. And I don't feel like that's
- 30:21Speaker 1: a good thing. Like it's a badass thing to be
- 30:24Speaker 1: able to do. But where's the line between being badass
- 30:30Speaker 1: and just showing off for no reason and putting everybody
- 30:33Speaker 1: in danger? That's the part that I'm sort of hung
- 30:36Speaker 1: up on is just like, what effect does him doing
- 30:41Speaker 1: this have on everyone? Because what is outside is a
- 30:47Speaker 1: toxic gas, So isn't the whole building going to fill
- 30:55Speaker 1: with gas now? Or am I misunderstanding the way that
- 30:59Speaker 1: this is set up because I assumed that where he
- 31:02Speaker 1: cut would also it would you know, filter into building
- 31:10Speaker 1: r as well. So I feel like I have to
- 31:14Speaker 1: be missing something because it just seemed like you fucked
- 31:17Speaker 1: things up for everybody. I don't know anyway. So that's
- 31:23Speaker 1: what's going on with them, and let's see do oh
- 31:29Speaker 1: my god, I did talk about all of this with
- 31:33Speaker 1: the two of them without ever pointing out the Banyana's
- 31:39Speaker 1: transformation that Virgo goes through he turns into And I
- 31:45Speaker 1: think that the effect here is supposed to be that
- 31:48Speaker 1: he is just completely covered in armament hockey, that he
- 31:51Speaker 1: is just all but he looks like an evil hulk.
- 31:56Speaker 1: He's like purplish and and uh, the part of the
- 32:05Speaker 1: thing here is like he has the transponder snail in
- 32:10Speaker 1: his like jacket pocket. So law knows do Flamingo is
- 32:16Speaker 1: listening to their whole conversation? And uh do Flamingo is
- 32:21Speaker 1: very smug and pleased with himself, and Law basically tells
- 32:25Speaker 1: him like, you do not know what you're dealing with here, do.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Flamingo tries to be like oh yeah, and shows up
- 32:32Speaker 1: Virgo in his most terrifying form, but then it doesn't
- 32:37Speaker 1: matter because Law is able to take him down anyway.
- 32:41Speaker 1: So sorry, SARAHI, oh my god, Seraphim, I didn't see
- 32:46Speaker 1: all the comments. I'm so sorry. They are in a
- 32:49Speaker 1: separate pope portion of the facility from everyone else. But
- 32:55Speaker 1: I can't quite blame Law here. Given how tough Virgo is,
- 32:58Speaker 1: going for anything less than max power would have been
- 33:01Speaker 1: a risk. I think that's my issue is that if
- 33:05Speaker 1: your max power isn't precise, that feels less impressive to me,
- 33:12Speaker 1: like if you can if your max power can't be
- 33:17Speaker 1: focused into taking down one person and instead poses a
- 33:23Speaker 1: risk to literally everybody in the vicinity, that actually feels
- 33:28Speaker 1: not that badass to me and kind of like a shortcoming.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But I may just be being too hard on the guy,
- 33:37Speaker 1: you know, Like, what do I know? I'm just I
- 33:41Speaker 1: think there's always room for improvement, That's all I'm saying. Law,
- 33:45Speaker 1: don't take it personally, amen, I'm not trying to be mean.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Or anything anyway. So yeah, so that's what's been going
- 33:54Speaker 1: on with them. And let's see, I'm gonna jump over
- 34:01Speaker 1: to Caesar's defeat the powerful Grizzly Magnum. So the Grizzly Magnum,
- 34:11Speaker 1: because like the fight against Caesar, he is getting very
- 34:21Speaker 1: angry over the fact that Loofy is busting up his
- 34:25Speaker 1: laboratory with like what's going on and also law and
- 34:30Speaker 1: there's like pieces of the ceiling caving in, and he's
- 34:34Speaker 1: just yelling, what is going on this laboratory is my paradise,
- 34:38Speaker 1: is what he says. It's crumbling to pieces. Why isn't
- 34:42Speaker 1: Vergo doing something? And this is when he starts to
- 34:47Speaker 1: get truly so I don't really understand this, you guys.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. I guess it's supposed to be
- 35:00Speaker 1: just that Caesar has lost it so completely that he
- 35:06Speaker 1: isn't really considering how he sounds. But basically what happens
- 35:13Speaker 1: is that Caesar demands that his men open all of
- 35:18Speaker 1: the doors and let the gas in. They refuse because
- 35:24Speaker 1: they are in there with the gas and feel a
- 35:28Speaker 1: bit of a way about being poisoned, and he yells
- 35:32Speaker 1: at them how they are totally disposable. Nobody would even
- 35:37Speaker 1: notice if anything happened to them, never mind care. Do
- 35:42Speaker 1: what you're fucking told. Your whole job is to obey orders,
- 35:47Speaker 1: not to think, and you are all just disposable and
- 35:57Speaker 1: the dregs of society. I don't understand Caesar's thinking on
- 36:04Speaker 1: saying all of this. At this point, you are now
- 36:08Speaker 1: in such a vulnerable position. Your building is crumbling around you.
- 36:16Speaker 1: You are dependent on the men in the other room
- 36:20Speaker 1: to open the thing and let in the gas because
- 36:24Speaker 1: you know that you yourself will be fine. And yet
- 36:29Speaker 1: you make it really clear that you not only don't
- 36:34Speaker 1: care what happens to them, but that you actually hold
- 36:37Speaker 1: them in contempt and think of them as like lower
- 36:39Speaker 1: life forms. And Caesar has for the most part tried
- 36:47Speaker 1: to keep it under wraps in front of large groups
- 36:51Speaker 1: that he feels this way. So I guess it's opposed
- 36:57Speaker 1: to being like desperation that is causing this, like you know,
- 37:04Speaker 1: this reaction in him. But it feels really strange to
- 37:11Speaker 1: me because it's just the exact wrong time to be
- 37:16Speaker 1: saying this sort of thing. And I would, you know,
- 37:20Speaker 1: I just it's not even just like oh, I just
- 37:24Speaker 1: blurted something out in the heat of the moment because
- 37:27Speaker 1: I wasn't thinking. He goes on a long rant and
- 37:32Speaker 1: begins to like respond to his men repeatedly saying things,
- 37:38Speaker 1: and it just got to this place that I was like, bruh,
- 37:43Speaker 1: what are you doing? Like you are fucking yourself and
- 37:47Speaker 1: you seem to be unaware of it, even as people
- 37:51Speaker 1: are telling you, Hey, do you know that you're fucking yourself? Like,
- 37:56Speaker 1: I just I wanted some indication after he says all
- 38:03Speaker 1: of this. I wanted some indication that he realizes he
- 38:09Speaker 1: has said too much. I wanted there to be a
- 38:12Speaker 1: moment where he sort of goes just kidding, you know,
- 38:17Speaker 1: like and just like understands for a second. I really
- 38:24Speaker 1: didn't stop and think about my words here. I was
- 38:27Speaker 1: just like flying off at the mouth because I am
- 38:29Speaker 1: trying to talk shit in front of Loufy. And if
- 38:33Speaker 1: he were talking to Loofy, it would make a little
- 38:37Speaker 1: bit more sense, you know, if he were saying, like,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I don't care about these guys forgetting that he's like
- 38:42Speaker 1: literally under surveillance right now. But it's just he has
- 38:46Speaker 1: so many chances to do that and stop and be
- 38:50Speaker 1: like oops and continues to talk, and there will even
- 38:54Speaker 1: be like a break and we come back to him
- 38:56Speaker 1: and then he says another thing, and it just felt
- 38:59Speaker 1: like very unnatural to me in terms of the way
- 39:03Speaker 1: that we have seen him operating up to now. Uh,
- 39:07Speaker 1: but you know whatever, all this to say that it
- 39:12Speaker 1: doesn't even seem to matter because despite him saying these things,
- 39:17Speaker 1: his men take it as like, oh, well, we know
- 39:20Speaker 1: he cares about us so much, so it's obvious that
- 39:24Speaker 1: he must have some sort of plan and he is
- 39:27Speaker 1: just saying this for straw hat, so yeah, we'll open
- 39:30Speaker 1: up the thing and we'll do it, and like they couldn't.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I feel like it would make more sense if he
- 39:40Speaker 1: told his men like something like I have a plan,
- 39:45Speaker 1: nothing will happen to you, and then he was just lying.
- 39:49Speaker 1: It is sort of funny to have the men explain
- 39:52Speaker 1: the thing away in its way, because like, if anybody
- 39:55Speaker 1: has ever been in a comment section of somebody who
- 39:58Speaker 1: is a real piece of shit, you will have seen
- 40:01Speaker 1: firsthand how people will just do cartwheels to try and
- 40:06Speaker 1: excuse bad behavior by acting as if somebody is just
- 40:11Speaker 1: doing like the common phrase is you're playing checkers, they're
- 40:18Speaker 1: playing chess, which is meant to be, like, you don't
- 40:22Speaker 1: understand that the tactics that they are deploying here because
- 40:28Speaker 1: you don't understand the complexity of the game, and therefore
- 40:32Speaker 1: it's over your head and you're not grasping it. So
- 40:36Speaker 1: I have actually seen in real time this exact sort
- 40:41Speaker 1: of like explanation playing out for a person that it's like, no, no,
- 40:46Speaker 1: there's no more to this than what it looks like.
- 40:48Speaker 1: It's exactly what it looks like, and people just don't
- 40:52Speaker 1: want to believe it, and so they will make up
- 40:54Speaker 1: these elaborate, fucking stories. So that is true, and that
- 40:58Speaker 1: is a real thing. And in that respect, I thought
- 41:02Speaker 1: that this was funny and actually worked, but it just
- 41:05Speaker 1: didn't make sense for me that it would have made
- 41:09Speaker 1: more sense if Caesar was saying all of this and
- 41:13Speaker 1: didn't realize that they were hearing all of it, you know,
- 41:17Speaker 1: and they thought he knew that he was being heard
- 41:21Speaker 1: and that he was saying this for their benefit. The
- 41:24Speaker 1: idea that he is saying this directly to them the
- 41:26Speaker 1: way that he is just felt like he has gone
- 41:31Speaker 1: to so much trouble to like try to cover up
- 41:38Speaker 1: the way he really feels about everybody that for him
- 41:40Speaker 1: to suddenly drop it now is just sort of odd.
- 41:44Speaker 1: But anyway, so these guys are just like, yeah, yeah,
- 41:47Speaker 1: it's gotta be. So they open up the thing and
- 41:50Speaker 1: tell him like, yeah, the gas it's coming in, boss,
- 41:55Speaker 1: don't worry. Meanwhile, they start to realize, oh shit, it's
- 42:01Speaker 1: coming for us, and that there was no plan and
- 42:05Speaker 1: that they are all going to turn to stone. The
- 42:09Speaker 1: way that Caesar describes it is that like, this gas
- 42:12Speaker 1: attacks your nervous system. I don't feel like that even
- 42:15Speaker 1: should be mentioned, because they are clearly turning into an
- 42:18Speaker 1: entirely different substance, which doesn't do that's nothing to do
- 42:21Speaker 1: with the nervous system. Let's just keep that fake science
- 42:24Speaker 1: out of there since it doesn't mean anything. But yeah,
- 42:29Speaker 1: so he winds up sort of mutating once he is
- 42:32Speaker 1: exposed to this gas. There are some characters on his
- 42:37Speaker 1: cloak that appear, and I'm not sure what they say.
- 42:40Speaker 1: The hula doesn't give me a translation of them. And
- 42:44Speaker 1: his head grows this sort of like it almost looks
- 42:47Speaker 1: like coral out off the top of his head that
- 42:49Speaker 1: I think is meant to sort of be a crown,
- 42:54Speaker 1: and he is towering over Loofy and is like, take
- 42:59Speaker 1: a good lie. Look, are you still certain you want
- 43:02Speaker 1: to fight me? Are you strong enough to face the
- 43:05Speaker 1: power of science? And Loofy hasn't moved a muscle. This
- 43:11Speaker 1: dude keeps being so sure that he is intimidating him,
- 43:15Speaker 1: and Lufi hasn't been impressed with anything. My guy, please
- 43:21Speaker 1: learn who your audience is. So this is when Lufi
- 43:27Speaker 1: runs away, and both Caesar and all of the men
- 43:32Speaker 1: that are in that room with us Up, they all
- 43:37Speaker 1: think that Lufi is bailing out, and uh, because us
- 43:43Speaker 1: Up showed himself there was like the debris falling from
- 43:46Speaker 1: the ceiling that came between him and the men that
- 43:49Speaker 1: spotted him. So for a little while us Up was
- 43:53Speaker 1: like out of sight and we were gonna let it
- 43:58Speaker 1: go for a bit. And then he years all of
- 44:00Speaker 1: this shit that Caesar is saying and understandably assumes that
- 44:05Speaker 1: this is going to be the moment that his men
- 44:07Speaker 1: turn on him. So then he steps out and he's like, hey,
- 44:11Speaker 1: I know, it must suck to hear him talk like
- 44:13Speaker 1: this about you. And then it turns out that they
- 44:17Speaker 1: are not turning on their boss at all, so sucks
- 44:20Speaker 1: to suck. Well, once they see Loofy running away. All
- 44:26Speaker 1: of them are just like, is this your fucking leader?
- 44:28Speaker 1: He's just taking off and like all of you guys
- 44:31Speaker 1: are just going to be totally screwed, and you're supporting him?
- 44:34Speaker 1: Are you for real? And he, of course is. I
- 44:38Speaker 1: love that. He says something like, honestly, if Loufy were
- 44:43Speaker 1: the type to like get up and run away when
- 44:47Speaker 1: things got tough, it would probably be easier. But he
- 44:52Speaker 1: doesn't do that. You guys will see in just a
- 44:56Speaker 1: second what I'm talking about, because that's super duper not
- 45:00Speaker 1: what's happening here. And I did think that that was
- 45:03Speaker 1: funny because like Brauh's correct, so Mofy. It turns out
- 45:11Speaker 1: ran off so that he could get a better distance
- 45:16Speaker 1: for using his grizly level attack, and he says, I'm
- 45:23Speaker 1: gonna finish you now so I never see you again.
- 45:29Speaker 1: And as he is sailing towards Caesar, Caesar is thinking
- 45:34Speaker 1: to himself, amazing, my demonstration will have the perfect ending. Caesar,
- 45:43Speaker 1: you just are such a dope. So Caesar lifts his
- 45:50Speaker 1: hands and says, now die and holds his hands up
- 45:54Speaker 1: toward Loofy. Doesn't see that Lufy has built up this
- 45:59Speaker 1: sort of like momentum in his fists, which have been
- 46:02Speaker 1: holding onto the door jam of like in the hall
- 46:05Speaker 1: behind him. So he releases Grizzly Magnum and their two
- 46:10Speaker 1: fists about the size of houses, all black. I'm assuming
- 46:15Speaker 1: the armament hockey is on them, and they come and
- 46:19Speaker 1: hit in such a way that it looks like the
- 46:22Speaker 1: two of them are holding hands kind of, And as
- 46:28Speaker 1: he's holding Loufy's hands, those hands begin to turn like white,
- 46:34Speaker 1: like they're turning into that stone substance, and he is saying, like, aha,
- 46:40Speaker 1: that punk hazard has defeated you, and they're turning white
- 46:45Speaker 1: up further and further, like almost up to Lufy's wrist,
- 46:48Speaker 1: and Lufy says, shut up, and as he does so,
- 46:52Speaker 1: it's like the hockey of his shout shoves his hands
- 46:57Speaker 1: further and further forward until they break through Caesar's own hands,
- 47:03Speaker 1: like they it's like they have pushed through until they dissolve,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and Caesar starts to cry and says, we can make
- 47:11Speaker 1: a deal, you can work under me. And I was
- 47:16Speaker 1: just cracking up at the very idea that this man
- 47:18Speaker 1: is about to be beaten so goddamn badly. And he
- 47:21Speaker 1: still thinks that he can be the boss like Brah.
- 47:26Speaker 1: So Lufy punches him backwards through the wall. Caesar's eyes
- 47:32Speaker 1: bug out of his fucking head and he goes sailing
- 47:36Speaker 1: down this like shoot, and I don't know if it's
- 47:40Speaker 1: like toward the incinerator like where Loufy went. But dude
- 47:44Speaker 1: is definitely not dead, and Lufy is just like, as
- 47:48Speaker 1: long as he's gone, I don't care. Understandably, later on,
- 47:52Speaker 1: Law is like, dude, this is not the deal that
- 47:56Speaker 1: we made. What are you doing? So when we go
- 47:59Speaker 1: to the next episode, all of the people who were
- 48:02Speaker 1: watching this demonstration around, like all of the different like
- 48:06Speaker 1: you know, crime bosses around the world are just like, well,
- 48:10Speaker 1: that was fucking pathetic, Like this is supposed to be
- 48:14Speaker 1: such a moment and it's a disaster, and let's see,
- 48:19Speaker 1: we're seeing different people whose names I don't remember. Let's
- 48:24Speaker 1: see call Jack, he'll handle things. And somebody else is
- 48:27Speaker 1: that's a kind of what I was afraid of, and
- 48:29Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know who you are. I'm
- 48:32Speaker 1: not sure how much of this is necessary for me
- 48:34Speaker 1: to remember. I'm sure that things will be refreshed to
- 48:36Speaker 1: a degree, leader, but sometimes things aren't refreshed that I
- 48:39Speaker 1: think really need to be and they will just like
- 48:42Speaker 1: double down on things that we all know very well
- 48:45Speaker 1: by now, and you don't need to repeat it, so
- 48:47Speaker 1: it can be hard to tell. So let's see an alliance.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Well we can't allow this, can we? Oh ran the
- 48:57Speaker 1: guy with this weird like hockey type mask about him anyway?
- 49:02Speaker 1: All right, so yeah, all of them are unimpressed. I
- 49:07Speaker 1: want to jump now while I've still got a few
- 49:09Speaker 1: minutes over to I'm trying to see to get to
- 49:16Speaker 1: the spot where this happens, because we have a bunch
- 49:20Speaker 1: of like touching base with a lot of the other
- 49:22Speaker 1: members of the crew, but they really are still like
- 49:24Speaker 1: running down the hall getting to the next point where
- 49:27Speaker 1: they can reconvene with Loofy, and they also like get
- 49:32Speaker 1: the giant brown beard and are assuring him that they
- 49:36Speaker 1: will fix him up. But here it is, here's the point.
- 49:41Speaker 1: So we've got do Flamingo's weird pirates. There's this guy
- 49:48Speaker 1: who is like I think it's supposed to be that
- 49:52Speaker 1: his hair is spinning like a propeller, so he's like
- 49:57Speaker 1: a weird little plane. And then the girlfriend of Trafalgar
- 50:04Speaker 1: Law I think is standing on his back. Am I
- 50:09Speaker 1: correct about this. I can't remember if we ever really
- 50:12Speaker 1: establish what the deal is with who she is? So
- 50:18Speaker 1: let's see. Okay, his name is Buffalo? What is her name?
- 50:22Speaker 1: Baby five? Once this mission is over, then I'm done.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I'll kill him, do you hear me? With my own hands?
- 50:28Speaker 1: I won't forgive you? Joker, so cruel? So I guess
- 50:30Speaker 1: she is his girlfriend. You killed my fiance and burned
- 50:38Speaker 1: his town to ash? How many men must you kill?
- 50:41Speaker 1: Every time I get engaged? You blow my darling to
- 50:44Speaker 1: little bits? Eight men and eight towns? Enough is enough?
- 50:49Speaker 1: Why won't you let me be happy? And Buffalo says
- 50:54Speaker 1: that's how he shows his love. He's just protective. Him
- 51:00Speaker 1: blowing up a town or two is just a sign
- 51:02Speaker 1: of how much he cares. It's just because you can't
- 51:06Speaker 1: say no to those chumps. And she says, he said
- 51:11Speaker 1: he needed me. How could I turn my back on him?
- 51:17Speaker 1: So she says this, and then we get a sort
- 51:21Speaker 1: of flashback of this doofy looking dude who says it's
- 51:29Speaker 1: love at first sight? Will you marry me? So they
- 51:33Speaker 1: clearly do not know each other. He is just very horny, apparently,
- 51:41Speaker 1: and as he says, will you marry me. She gets
- 51:44Speaker 1: like starry eyed, and like, all of a sudden, behind
- 51:49Speaker 1: him appear two other very sinister looking figures. And I
- 51:55Speaker 1: feel like the implication here is supposed to be that
- 52:00Speaker 1: they are going to gang rape her, and I may
- 52:04Speaker 1: be wrong, but that is what I think is being
- 52:07Speaker 1: very strongly implied, and it is unsettling in this children's show.
- 52:14Speaker 1: But they are all like, you know, smirking to themselves.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And then we go back to her. Just ten days
- 52:22Speaker 1: after that sweet innocent confession, he became the eighth victim.
- 52:28Speaker 1: So what we are finding out is that I guess
- 52:35Speaker 1: De Flamingo is her brother, right. That's so it wasn't
- 52:41Speaker 1: law that she was into. I don't even know, but
- 52:50Speaker 1: she like Buffalo asks her for two million berries, and
- 52:55Speaker 1: she like agrees to take out a loan for him,
- 52:59Speaker 1: because basically her personality is that she will do anything
- 53:04Speaker 1: if you make her feel like she is needed, which
- 53:08Speaker 1: is such a weird. This is one of those things
- 53:12Speaker 1: that it's very hard for me to believe that there
- 53:14Speaker 1: are people out there like this until I meet one,
- 53:17Speaker 1: and I cannot. You, guys, there is somebody that I
- 53:25Speaker 1: am not close with, but who I have had a
- 53:28Speaker 1: couple like recent conversations with that it was so so
- 53:34Speaker 1: startling to me when they shared a couple of stories
- 53:40Speaker 1: about how they moved through the world, because they put
- 53:43Speaker 1: up with the kind of shit that I would never
- 53:47Speaker 1: even entertain for a moment and really do not see
- 53:55Speaker 1: what the big deal is or how clear the being
- 54:00Speaker 1: taken advantage of is. And it's like, it's really awful
- 54:07Speaker 1: because you try and point it out to them, and
- 54:13Speaker 1: it's not just me trying to convince them. There are
- 54:16Speaker 1: other people involved in the conversation and they are like, well,
- 54:21Speaker 1: you just don't know them, even though they have like
- 54:24Speaker 1: several other of these stories going on in their past
- 54:28Speaker 1: as well, that they should be able to see this
- 54:31Speaker 1: behavior by now. And so what I'm saying is, as
- 54:37Speaker 1: much as you use the caricature of this type, this
- 54:42Speaker 1: person does exist who will just utterly ruin themselves for
- 54:48Speaker 1: a significant other. And it is truly some weird shit.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I am just all I can say is that I
- 54:56Speaker 1: am glad that however I was raised, it was enough
- 55:00Speaker 1: to escape this particular kind of trap. I have my
- 55:04Speaker 1: own other traps that I fall into, but I don't
- 55:08Speaker 1: feel like they're quite so like self destructive in a
- 55:11Speaker 1: way as this is. But yeah, it turns out that
- 55:15Speaker 1: she's got like all this debt because she takes out
- 55:18Speaker 1: loans for these guys, and I guess that's why they
- 55:24Speaker 1: keep being murdered, which honestly, I think he's doing the
- 55:28Speaker 1: world a favor. It sounds like, so that's fine. So
- 55:34Speaker 1: as they're coming towards the island, they see that, like
- 55:37Speaker 1: the gas is just covering everything, and she's like, I
- 55:39Speaker 1: can't even see what's going on. She has this sort
- 55:43Speaker 1: of like bazooka thing, and she asks if she shoots it,
- 55:49Speaker 1: will it help Anny, and Buffalo says, no, I've got
- 55:51Speaker 1: this hop off, I'll take care of it. So she
- 55:57Speaker 1: just leaps straight up into the air. It was weird
- 56:01Speaker 1: to me how she like hops off, because it's treated
- 56:05Speaker 1: very much like she can basically fly, and yet I'm
- 56:10Speaker 1: not sure that's what I'm supposed to have taken away
- 56:12Speaker 1: from this. But he comes in, He like flips upside
- 56:16Speaker 1: down and says it's typhoon time and begins to spin
- 56:21Speaker 1: even faster and creates such a powerful gust of air
- 56:27Speaker 1: that he begins to blow some of the gas away
- 56:32Speaker 1: so that you can at least see like one of
- 56:34Speaker 1: the ships in the front, and she sees the ship
- 56:39Speaker 1: that's labeled SAD and is like, what is going on here?
- 56:43Speaker 1: Lands on his back again, and I'm assuming that this
- 56:49Speaker 1: is meant to be like a shipment that was going
- 56:51Speaker 1: to head out soon. And let's see, I'm trying to
- 56:55Speaker 1: find the spot where this thing happens, because Frankie eventually
- 56:58Speaker 1: appears and it is some weird shit. She's looking down
- 57:02Speaker 1: through like the site on her bazuka. I guess is
- 57:06Speaker 1: the thing that I really want to say? And she
- 57:09Speaker 1: spots Caesar, who has like basically knocked out unconscious on
- 57:15Speaker 1: the dock by the ship. I don't know how it
- 57:18Speaker 1: is that he got all the way out there, like
- 57:22Speaker 1: he fell down the chute and then just went flying
- 57:24Speaker 1: all the way out to the ship. How does that work?
- 57:29Speaker 1: But anyway, Buffalo calls Do Flamingo and is like, something
- 57:34Speaker 1: went down before we got here. We just saw Caesar,
- 57:37Speaker 1: but he is all busted up. He went flying out
- 57:39Speaker 1: of the lab and into the tanker like someone kicked
- 57:43Speaker 1: his ass hard, and Do Flamingo just smiles and says,
- 57:50Speaker 1: is that so? I don't care what Stady's him? Grabs
- 57:54Speaker 1: Caesar immediately get out of there and bring him to
- 57:57Speaker 1: dress Rosa. As long as I have got him, I
- 58:02Speaker 1: will be able to make more sad. And when he
- 58:07Speaker 1: says like Monet and Vigo, what about them, baby five
- 58:12Speaker 1: says just do what he says, don't argue with him. So, yeah,
- 58:19Speaker 1: I guess that Monae and Vigo are just being left
- 58:21Speaker 1: high and dry. This is how this bra operates. We
- 58:25Speaker 1: go back to do Flamingo, who is cracking up alone
- 58:31Speaker 1: in his room, and it is just like, yeah, so
- 58:35Speaker 1: blow up the lab. All that matters is Caesar. As
- 58:38Speaker 1: long as I have him, then who cares? You guys
- 58:41Speaker 1: are a bunch of rookies. You don't even understand how
- 58:44Speaker 1: this works. And honestly, it's such a bummer because he
- 58:50Speaker 1: is correct. Lufy is such a rookie. Even though he
- 58:53Speaker 1: has done this shit many a time, he evidently isn't
- 58:58Speaker 1: any wiser for it, which is a shame. So the
- 59:02Speaker 1: episode ends with his argument with Law about like, what
- 59:07Speaker 1: is it that we're supposed to have done? And then
- 59:10Speaker 1: we have Frankie showing up and you don't realize that
- 59:15Speaker 1: it's him right away, but he is in this robot
- 59:19Speaker 1: suit that it looks like is about ten times the
- 59:23Speaker 1: size that the old one had been, and he sees
- 59:26Speaker 1: Buffalo and says, that's a weird looking bird. I felt
- 59:30Speaker 1: so goofy that I hadn't even stopped to consider how
- 59:34Speaker 1: Frankie was doing. And I guess that it's supposed to
- 59:39Speaker 1: be since he's inside the robot suit, that the gas
- 59:42Speaker 1: everywhere doesn't affect him now, But I didn't even remember
- 59:46Speaker 1: that Frankie wasn't with everybody else or factor him into anything,
- 59:51Speaker 1: so I felt quite guilty about that. Let's see, the
- 59:56Speaker 1: shoot was horizontal. Luvy simply shot him all the way
- 59:59Speaker 1: to the And okay, that's the same Mechad. You saw
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: him break out in Fishman Island. I will be honest,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I don't even remember it, but I believe you Fishman
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Island's a bit of a blur to me at this point, unfortunately.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: But yeah, so then is where we're wrapping up here,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: and just gotta wait and see what other goofy shit
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: do Flamingo gets up to. He's a real he's a
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: real surprise, all right, everybody, I'm gonna wrap this one up.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: But thank you again to Michael for commissioning this. Thank
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: you to Sarah I'm for hanging out in the chat
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: with me, appreciate you a lot, and I wanted to
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: give you guys a heads up that starting in the
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: new year, well it'll actually start right at the tail
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: end of my bookings for December, I am going to
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: be moving my time slots up because so many people
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: want the earlier time slots and it actually is a
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: little bit easier for me if I can end my
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: work day earlier. So I am going to be starting
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: in December beginning at a two thirty pm Central Time
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: time slot. But you guys will have a lot of
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: warning on that. I've changed things up on the booking website,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and I talked to Florian because, like, he books a
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: lot of the one piece episodes and he has such
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: a big time difference where he is and it is
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: a lot more convenient for him for the episodes to
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: be earlier, so I took that into consideration as well.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: So I just wanted to let you all know about
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: that change, and I'll mention it again, you know, not
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: just a little closer to the time. But I wanted
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: to give you all a heads up. All right, everybody
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: until then to the loom motherfuckers that was an unspoiled
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: network podcast
