- 0:42Speaker 4: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You're listening to the Sportshock Show. I'm the Sports Shock
- 0:49Speaker 1: Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there and listening
- 0:53Speaker 1: land Glad to be here with you. Just so many
- 0:57Speaker 1: thoughts over the weekend. First and foremost, just how many
- 1:02Speaker 1: of you out there really got invested into these preseason games?
- 1:07Speaker 1: You know, how many of you just had decided that
- 1:11Speaker 1: this is it. I mean, it's really just that you
- 1:13Speaker 1: were hungry, you're ready for the season. They offered you
- 1:18Speaker 1: a little nibblet and you just thought it was the
- 1:21Speaker 1: whole meal. It's just a game. Some of you have
- 1:26Speaker 1: already called in your season tickets, shipped them back, given
- 1:30Speaker 1: in your teams. I mean, it's a it's just a
- 1:34Speaker 1: preseason game. And I tell you why, I don't really
- 1:38Speaker 1: there's so many different plans. For every team and every
- 1:43Speaker 1: coach and every player that plays in a preseason game,
- 1:50Speaker 1: some strategy is put in based on the personnel who
- 1:55Speaker 1: they want to see. I really only put this guy
- 1:58Speaker 1: in to run this particular route to see if he
- 2:03Speaker 1: could do it in live action. It's something I want
- 2:07Speaker 1: to work with him on some either he does great
- 2:10Speaker 1: or something he's weak on, and I wanted to put
- 2:12Speaker 1: him in a situation. I wanted to put the tackle
- 2:15Speaker 1: to see how he would manage in a one on
- 2:18Speaker 1: one block. So I called a particular play so he
- 2:23Speaker 1: was isolated because I want to see him in live action.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But that same play during the season, I would have
- 2:30Speaker 1: gave him some help, But I don't want to give
- 2:34Speaker 1: him no help right now. Right now, I want to
- 2:36Speaker 1: see a couple of plays of him in a one
- 2:39Speaker 1: on one. I want to put this corner and a
- 2:41Speaker 1: man to man. I want to put this linebacker in
- 2:44Speaker 1: a position where he has to cover, because all I've
- 2:47Speaker 1: been watching him do is cover in practice. Let's see
- 2:51Speaker 1: how he would do. So I'm actually running in scheming
- 2:55Speaker 1: things from that perspective, and you're invested in thinking everybody's
- 3:02Speaker 1: out here trying to win or everybody is approaching the game.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's why some people play their starters, some people don't
- 3:10Speaker 1: looking for combaty. It's all kinds of things. I just
- 3:13Speaker 1: don't understand how, especially Game one now Game three, which
- 3:19Speaker 1: typically is more of where teams kind of put a
- 3:22Speaker 1: little more effort into the game plan, into the players
- 3:26Speaker 1: that are out there most of the time. Whoever they
- 3:30Speaker 1: think they play Game one of the regular season is
- 3:33Speaker 1: in game three. If you looked at that and thought,
- 3:36Speaker 1: oh man, we're gonna have a little trouble doing this
- 3:39Speaker 1: or that. Man, sure, but Game one is just really
- 3:46Speaker 1: just truly organized scrimmage that the NFL owners charge you
- 3:53Speaker 1: premium price to watch. You could have watched the same
- 3:56Speaker 1: thing three days later at the Friday night light where
- 4:00Speaker 1: they invite the fans out. They just charged your premium
- 4:04Speaker 1: price to look at that. So relax, get your blood
- 4:09Speaker 1: pressure down, Commandie, Big Kenny, bad producer. Definitely, as Sean
- 4:13Speaker 1: Payton said, some of the Falcon fans came dressed the
- 4:17Speaker 1: seats because the stadium was so empty down there, Bad producer.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Did you make the game this pass Friday? No, sir,
- 4:27Speaker 1: But I found myself.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Trying to tell fan base I ran into some people
- 4:36Speaker 4: ready to give the tickets up, the same thing you
- 4:39Speaker 4: talked about. I talked to some actual friends, it's on
- 4:42Speaker 4: my chat, and I caught myself saying.
- 4:45Speaker 1: CAUs, it's a this is practice we got, we gotta relax. Nah.
- 4:52Speaker 4: They ready, they ready to burn it down already, they said.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I thought, this is the foxky guy. I'm trying to
- 4:57Speaker 4: give him a chance. I mean right now, so it's already.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Kevin Stefanski, Yeah, it's hit not hit, not white not
- 5:04Speaker 3: wait not. Let me let me say that, let me
- 5:07Speaker 3: say that, let me say Jean, let me say this
- 5:10Speaker 3: is Jet fran I know it's preseason.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I know it's game one. But if you got a.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Cousin and he's been smoking and he said he clean,
- 5:17Speaker 5: and he show.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Around and he looked any bit like Eve been smoking,
- 5:21Speaker 1: ain't too much confidence in him.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Quinton I dodnet live with the Jets being this Jets
- 5:27Speaker 5: the last three Folk seasons. So okay, the preseason first
- 5:31Speaker 5: lost probably gonna look like the regular season twelve loss.
- 5:36Speaker 5: So we were struggling with trauma based Well, that's what
- 5:43Speaker 5: a tradition, that's what it's that they have a trauma
- 5:46Speaker 5: based conditioning you're you have no faith in things turning around,
- 5:50Speaker 5: You have no confidence that it's gonna get Because I
- 5:54Speaker 5: was like, I cause you tell me this every year.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I will say, if we go three and zero in
- 5:58Speaker 4: the preseason, that doesn't mean that's gonna translate to undefeated
- 6:03Speaker 4: in the record season.
- 6:03Speaker 1: No, but I'm tired of us getting.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Beat in the regular season and then we go to
- 6:07Speaker 4: the I mean in the preseason, we go to the regular season.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It's the same old thing. I said, not necessarily, but.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Well before we came on air. Our off air conversation
- 6:19Speaker 5: was about how the preseason, from everything that they tell
- 6:24Speaker 5: us about the preseason, is to get the kinks worked out,
- 6:29Speaker 5: iron out the wrinkles, get our timing together, get our
- 6:33Speaker 5: chemistry together. Let's jail as a team if we're winning.
- 6:36Speaker 1: How many players am I going to be out there?
- 6:38Speaker 3: Coach Comanche, Uh, We'll give you about about seven plays,
- 6:44Speaker 3: one series, one series.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Now I'm walking off the field after the one.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Series, one series, on series of plays, rookie, we need
- 6:54Speaker 3: to see. I'm talking to him as a as a starter.
- 6:58Speaker 3: As a starter, all I'm gonna do is seven plays.
- 7:01Speaker 3: The night before I was just playing video game. Wait,
- 7:05Speaker 3: now why not why I didn't even go to and
- 7:07Speaker 3: they're stricted, so you already know what the plays are.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I'm looking at the scription. Okay, we're gonna run the
- 7:14Speaker 3: seven plays can be done in like eight minutes, nine minutes,
- 7:17Speaker 3: and then you done.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm done for today.
- 7:20Speaker 3: And it starts the starters are playing one series at
- 7:23Speaker 3: most one, and if it's three and out, you might
- 7:26Speaker 3: have to question talk to me about going back out
- 7:29Speaker 3: there again because you told me one series. I told
- 7:33Speaker 3: him one.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I didn't know that it was. Hey, I didn't say
- 7:35Speaker 1: it was gonna be three and out. You said one series.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So now you got to come over there and talk
- 7:40Speaker 1: to me about going in for a second, because now
- 7:45Speaker 1: and I can't excuse me, I'm this is not how
- 7:48Speaker 1: many times he's not high school?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Because I was gonna say, and I can't get any
- 7:52Speaker 3: support from the guy I'm looking over at.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I got to come over and ask you, Hey, I've
- 7:58Speaker 1: already took it. When I came off the field, I
- 8:01Speaker 1: started taking my tape off. That's what I'm saying. Some
- 8:03Speaker 1: of these dudes was in their street closed.
- 8:05Speaker 5: They look like Anthony, uh what was his name for
- 8:08Speaker 5: the use to play for the Lakers.
- 8:13Speaker 1: He looked like street clothes.
- 8:14Speaker 5: These dudes were standing over there, and I'm talking about
- 8:17Speaker 5: full next full of jewelry. I know you not playing
- 8:19Speaker 5: the day Dijon didn't even just like he probably won't
- 8:22Speaker 5: play a snap in the preseason.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And no, the Cardinals running back, what's the little young rookie?
- 8:28Speaker 6: Uh?
- 8:28Speaker 1: Look, Jeremiah Love. Jeremiah Love, which I told people to me,
- 8:32Speaker 1: And Jeremiah Love was the best football player I saw
- 8:35Speaker 1: last year. Went out for the Cardinals, had about five
- 8:38Speaker 1: carries for about sixty yards. Now they're saying he has
- 8:42Speaker 1: high ankle spring. No he doesn't.
- 8:45Speaker 3: He just he just don't want to play what he had,
- 8:47Speaker 3: what they have seen, We see, this is the deal.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, we got h get him out of there, get
- 8:55Speaker 1: final reason that he doesn't need to.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Play, and nobody has to ask us, is he not
- 9:00Speaker 5: getting on the field?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yes, coach, why isn't Jeremiah Love playing this weekend? Higinkle spring?
- 9:06Speaker 1: And I didn't. I didn't see him get hurt in
- 9:08Speaker 1: the list preseason game. Mind your business when you were
- 9:13Speaker 1: just right now, he didn't you tackle nobody?
- 9:18Speaker 3: So what are we really saying here? And that's really it.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I was like, hi you. I didn't the boy look fresh?
- 9:24Speaker 1: He looked like like a young Adrian Peterson. I said, boy,
- 9:27Speaker 1: they don't discovered them something. And next morning, hinkle spring
- 9:31Speaker 1: that's there. We'll see you September whatever, the twelfth. Other
- 9:36Speaker 1: than that, we're done with this now. Vision when you're
- 9:41Speaker 1: gonna be yea is that is that?
- 9:44Speaker 5: Because do they come up with the deference excuse because
- 9:50Speaker 5: fans are clamoring to see more of him and they
- 9:53Speaker 5: don't want to irritate this.
- 9:55Speaker 3: It's oh, so I got to put him on the
- 9:58Speaker 3: injured report, so he so even in the preseason and
- 10:02Speaker 3: I got gambling on pres I got something.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's what I told him, short is hamstring
- 10:09Speaker 1: something I got to offer to put you on the
- 10:11Speaker 1: injury Why can't.
- 10:12Speaker 3: We just say, hey, look he ain't gonna play because
- 10:14Speaker 3: he's good, But all y'all have got.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Money on the game.
- 10:18Speaker 5: I mean that part of the professional gambling thing, ain't it. Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 5: Well that's what I being able to assess win to gamble.
- 10:24Speaker 4: That's what like I told my my friends, that was
- 10:27Speaker 4: I said, Look, this is for gambling. That's the only
- 10:29Speaker 4: reason we got the preseason. Get for the gamblers. We
- 10:32Speaker 4: you know that, but they.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I went down to the State Farm Arena, which is
- 10:37Speaker 1: always active. We'll talk about the Clarissa Shields fight here
- 10:41Speaker 1: later in the hour, but that was on Saturday, but
- 10:44Speaker 1: Sunday yesterday, and we'll talk about after the break. But
- 10:47Speaker 1: I wanted to let you guys know every time Sophie
- 10:51Speaker 1: Cunningham the Dream was in town, Caitlyn Clark, Kelsey Mitchell,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Leah Boston taking on Atlanta as you could have madined
- 11:00Speaker 1: sell out crowd, But every time Sophie Cunningham of the
- 11:04Speaker 1: Fever ran up and down the court, I kept thinking
- 11:08Speaker 1: where we are as a society that a biological woman
- 11:18Speaker 1: saying that she does not want to play against non
- 11:23Speaker 1: biological women we deem as controversy. Mm now controversy you
- 11:35Speaker 1: think about that? Now, only woman saying that she doesn't
- 11:38Speaker 1: want to play against a non biological woman. We took
- 11:43Speaker 1: this up to what are we.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Doing not only as controversy, but the kind of controversy
- 11:48Speaker 3: that should remove her from the sport.
- 11:51Speaker 1: But she is a bad person, yes, But I imagine that
- 11:55Speaker 1: if I approached any woman she doesn't want to play
- 11:59Speaker 1: against someone, and it's not biologically a woman. I don't
- 12:04Speaker 1: see her answer being how has her answer so controversy
- 12:10Speaker 1: because it's not considered inclusive? What does that have to
- 12:15Speaker 1: do with?
- 12:17Speaker 3: And it's it's going against a community that considers themselves margin.
- 12:23Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 12:25Speaker 3: No, it's not going against that really not. That's that's
- 12:29Speaker 3: what something, that's what we've been. That's what people have
- 12:31Speaker 3: been conditioned to believe. That's what people would like. So
- 12:37Speaker 3: how because you're not it's you're not. What you're saying
- 12:43Speaker 3: is not in support. Really, even though it's like criticism
- 12:47Speaker 3: and I didn't criticize, you asked me, did I want
- 12:50Speaker 3: to play? It's considered criticism. Let me ask you a question.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Why didn't Clarissa Shields fight?
- 12:55Speaker 7: Right?
- 12:55Speaker 1: J They they didn't. They didn't organize that fight. So
- 13:03Speaker 1: if you like strawberry ice cream and I like chocolate,
- 13:09Speaker 1: because I like chocolate and not strawberry, I'm criticizing you. Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 1: that means you you hate strawberry, right, And if you
- 13:15Speaker 1: don't see how that means your aptitude of intelligence is
- 13:19Speaker 1: low to decide that anytime that I don't agree with you,
- 13:25Speaker 1: i'm criticizing you. I just have a different opinion than you.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And see as a person with low intelligence. Now when
- 13:32Speaker 1: I when I ask in the car and I'm gonna
- 13:35Speaker 1: go to break, Hey man, I want a chocolate shape.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Hey big Kenny, what flavor you on? Rum raising? Uh?
- 13:45Speaker 1: And a rum raisin. We didn't fall out or fight.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I actually gave him. Why would I order chocolate for
- 13:53Speaker 1: somebody that want to don't want chocolate?
- 13:57Speaker 8: Now?
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't want to order no man in the w NBA.
- 14:00Speaker 1: That's why I got the NBA.
- 14:01Speaker 3: That you're not on social media, it is social media.

- 17:03Speaker 1: What's what's up? And walk back to this what shock? Shuck?
- 17:09Speaker 1: This what shock? Wayne Yande looking at a report sad
- 17:14Speaker 1: news coming through Hayden Penneteer has been found dead at
- 17:19Speaker 1: thirty six years old. She was in Heroes in Nashville
- 17:26Speaker 1: right now, they're waiting. She was found on responsive up
- 17:32Speaker 1: in South Carolina home. She also if you remember, she
- 17:37Speaker 1: was married to the World Champ at one time, but
- 17:44Speaker 1: young actress Vladimir clicks Coach was her husband. They were
- 17:50Speaker 1: married for a couple of years. I think they even
- 17:51Speaker 1: had a kid or two. So thirty six years old.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I know the Nashville and the hero show were big
- 17:57Speaker 1: when they were out, but I'm responsive, so wow, Always
- 18:05Speaker 1: be thankful another day when you see young death like that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Thirty six years old. We were talking about the Dream
- 18:15Speaker 1: Game went down to the arena, Caitlin Clark putting on
- 18:19Speaker 1: a show, tough game. I even saw one report and
- 18:23Speaker 1: this is why the media I don't plug into social media.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Even the man who was the director producer of Aaron
- 18:32Speaker 1: Sorkin who did Social Network. Yeah, I was reading a
- 18:37Speaker 1: report like two days ago how he was so disgusted
- 18:41Speaker 1: where social media and Facebook have gone. How all these
- 18:45Speaker 1: things were established in a sense to kind of correct
- 18:48Speaker 1: create a community, but have just become, as he said,
- 18:53Speaker 1: rage bait for people, just where people actually go out
- 18:59Speaker 1: and and that's what they do. And when you're sitting
- 19:04Speaker 1: in there and we're talking, just imagine that difference of opinion.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You think. You take difference of opinion as I'm against you.
- 19:11Speaker 1: But I just don't want to go to that restaurant.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That's not against you. And then you make I don't
- 19:18Speaker 1: even mean I won't go to that restaurant. But when
- 19:20Speaker 1: you asked me, did I want to go to the
- 19:22Speaker 1: cheesecake factory? I said no, But then we still decided.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Then we then we ended up going. We still went,
- 19:34Speaker 1: but when you asked me, I didn't particularly want to go,
- 19:40Speaker 1: and and and you're making it as anytime I'm a
- 19:43Speaker 1: difference in opinion, I'm against you. Oh yeah, you you
- 19:46Speaker 1: have a different opinion. Do I want a cold sandwich
- 19:49Speaker 1: or a hot sandwich? I don't want mine hot. I
- 19:53Speaker 1: want mine cold.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Oh see you trying to put the people who cook
- 19:56Speaker 3: food you should you should get it the way you
- 19:59Speaker 3: want it. No, I thought that's why we came here.
- 20:02Speaker 1: We we came here to support a restaurant business. I
- 20:04Speaker 1: don't want pepperoni on mine. Oh look you see he
- 20:08Speaker 1: don't want you.
- 20:09Speaker 5: Against Italians and Hispanic people because you against people of color.
- 20:14Speaker 1: That's why we came to a buy the slice so
- 20:18Speaker 1: we didn't have to buy one pizza with every week.
- 20:20Speaker 1: That's why they divide the pizza. They became there. It
- 20:25Speaker 1: became that you get half and half now, so we
- 20:27Speaker 1: don't have to. But that don't mean we can't go
- 20:30Speaker 1: get pizza. We still go get pizza. We still go
- 20:34Speaker 1: get pizza. So when I watch a game, I just
- 20:37Speaker 1: couldn't imagine that national with all the sad stories of
- 20:43Speaker 1: different sons killing moms and dads and dads killing families,
- 20:48Speaker 1: and war here and homeless people, I'm still not over that.
- 20:52Speaker 1: How the guy in New York only is up for
- 20:54Speaker 1: five years setting a man on fire. Every time I
- 20:59Speaker 1: drive by home on this person, I think, man, you
- 21:04Speaker 1: thought this person deserved even more. You think a person
- 21:09Speaker 1: laying outside all night on a street deserved even more punishment?
- 21:16Speaker 5: In sports your ki, that's five years. That's five years
- 21:19Speaker 5: just for even disturbing them.
- 21:21Speaker 1: People listen with these people.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Yes, yesterday, I said to my youngest as we were out,
- 21:28Speaker 3: A lot of people think the horror of homelessness is
- 21:30Speaker 3: in the winter time. I feel like one hundred degrees
- 21:32Speaker 3: out here today. Can you imagine not having somewhere indoors
- 21:36Speaker 3: to go. The best you can do is a shade tree,
- 21:40Speaker 3: which is still ninety eight degrees in the shade.
- 21:43Speaker 5: And as you said, that man thought you got enough
- 21:46Speaker 5: suffering for me, I need to go ahead and light
- 21:49Speaker 5: you on fire. And nobody's protesting that. Nobody wants that person.
- 21:55Speaker 1: To Setting somebody on fire is a ten year minimum.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Ten No, I'm going out forget what happened. Everything that
- 22:04Speaker 1: happens after. I'm saying, just the little setting them on fire,
- 22:08Speaker 1: if the fire get to the skin, that's another fire.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Just throwing fire at somebody and they catching on fire,
- 22:14Speaker 3: they close or something is a minimum ten years.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But at the game, good atmosphere, good game. They f
- 22:19Speaker 1: ether won the game ninety five ninety one. I watched
- 22:25Speaker 1: your injuries. We gotta work on the off season. Stop
- 22:29Speaker 1: all the interviews with the barbie and all that get
- 22:33Speaker 1: her in the gym baptizer train.
- 22:37Speaker 4: I mean, what do we need to work on on
- 22:40Speaker 4: the around the elbow?
- 22:41Speaker 1: She needs to work on the drive, She needs to
- 22:43Speaker 1: go back, She needs to learn how to gather herself.
- 22:51Speaker 1: She might need to take a dance class. She has
- 22:54Speaker 1: no smooth no grace. So I realized the ballet four
- 22:57Speaker 1: of her four to six of her rebounds, Lee's league
- 23:02Speaker 1: and rebounds or rebounding her misshots. She misses more shots
- 23:09Speaker 1: that she rebounds. You almost think she's stabed pad.
- 23:12Speaker 6: Now.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I was just thinking, that's not like it's pretty small.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I wanted to ask. She sits there, she gets, she
- 23:17Speaker 1: takes a shot, she misses, she takes that same shot, missus.
- 23:20Speaker 1: That's three rebounds. Nobody's trying to out rebound her. So
- 23:26Speaker 1: I'm sitting there like, and that's how the game came now,
- 23:29Speaker 1: just so easy. She could have laid it up and
- 23:31Speaker 1: she misses it. Everything she has to go aide of
- 23:34Speaker 1: the rim. And it's not her passion, it's not her conditioning,
- 23:39Speaker 1: it's just her need is inefficient.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Yes, it's very inefficially, I wanted to ask you. I
- 23:45Speaker 5: tuned into the game late three shots. When I tuned in,
- 23:48Speaker 5: it was something like was it eighty one seventy two?
- 23:57Speaker 5: Something like that. I mean, the dream were up up,
- 23:59Speaker 5: and I blinked a couple of times and Caitlyn got
- 24:02Speaker 5: the ball, and before you know it, it was an overtime,
- 24:04Speaker 5: And I was like, what happened in that last little
- 24:08Speaker 5: half a quarter that y'all blew a big lead like
- 24:11Speaker 5: that and couldn't and and couldn't close the deal. It
- 24:15Speaker 5: just seemed like something wasn't working properly. And maybe that's it. Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 5: it was a lot of missing easy. She's doing all
- 24:26Speaker 5: the work, That's what I'm saying. There is no I
- 24:29Speaker 5: can't even question her passion and effort and energy. She
- 24:33Speaker 5: got the size, she's not her engagement. She hustling, Yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 5: I mean, but just putting the ball back on the
- 24:42Speaker 5: skill set. Yeah, just a little stop making yourself five
- 24:46Speaker 5: eight when you're six four.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That square box. She gets the ball and dribble and
- 24:51Speaker 1: holds the ball down here. She never stands tall.
- 24:54Speaker 15: You're you're.
- 24:55Speaker 1: She's typically the tallest or at least the second tallest
- 24:58Speaker 1: person on the court.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Get you right here, but she take them jump, make
- 25:03Speaker 5: them jump to slap the ball.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So but great game, great atmosphere. I still don't know
- 25:09Speaker 1: why the dreaming don't come out for the national anthem.
- 25:13Speaker 1: But girl, ladies, excuse me, women, Maybe that's why they
- 25:19Speaker 1: didn't vote you for All Stars starters. Yeah, we got time.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I think everybody might be on turn the page on
- 25:27Speaker 1: that America fifty years old their birthday. Come on out
- 25:30Speaker 1: and we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right
- 25:32Speaker 1: after this. Let me see ya ya ya.
- 25:38Speaker 16: Ya ya ya.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Ya got.

- 25:57Speaker 14: That's what we were taught service before self.
- 25:59Speaker 1: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 26:02Speaker 1: When is the last time you reached out for help?
- 26:06Speaker 12: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's
- 26:09Speaker 12: for stress, finances, employment, or mental health, don't wait reach out.

- 26:54Speaker 18: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive all
- 26:57Speaker 18: using their typewriters. Shouldn't be any different for US kids
- 27:01Speaker 18: and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the cause of
- 27:05Speaker 18: more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 27:08Speaker 14: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 27:11Speaker 14: phones and focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody.
- 27:15Speaker 11: Don't drive distracted.
- 27:17Speaker 19: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 27:19Speaker 19: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light, and the AD Council.
- 27:25Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy on
- 27:32Speaker 1: the Radzo Welcome to Atlanta, Jack and Hammazon boats.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Back to the Macan and Zack and the clothes that
- 27:47Speaker 3: A lessons.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Back in the phone, I'm knock on the door. Who
- 27:50Speaker 1: is it? I happened to know the one with.
- 27:52Speaker 2: The flow who did it?
- 27:53Speaker 3: Was me on the poss they did in the road.
- 27:55Speaker 1: They walk back to this sport shock show. I'm in
- 27:57Speaker 1: the sports Shock Wayne Gandy. Nazi Johnson, I say naz name.
- 28:06Speaker 12: In a z E.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Nazi. We'll go with that, right.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Johnson of the Tennessee Titans has been suspended for six games.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Coming up his suspension because he had failed the PED test.
- 28:22Speaker 1: He said it was because of fertility meds. Just for
- 28:27Speaker 1: you that didn't read the full article, so you're know.
- 28:30Speaker 1: And this rule has been around even from the time
- 28:33Speaker 1: the sports Shop finished his career. So this is not
- 28:36Speaker 1: a new rule. It's not that Nasi cannot take the
- 28:42Speaker 1: fertility medicine. It's that he has to go report that.
- 28:49Speaker 1: That's what he's about to do. Simple as that. So
- 28:53Speaker 1: before you go on social media and the NFL trying
- 28:57Speaker 1: to know, this was around even my last two or
- 29:00Speaker 1: three years, and NFL they changed like if you're gonna
- 29:04Speaker 1: take night quill or day quill, even if you even
- 29:08Speaker 1: if I took it last night, when I get to
- 29:11Speaker 1: work this morning, I go to the trainer and let
- 29:15Speaker 1: them know. That's all now he had to do. Nobody's
- 29:22Speaker 1: trying to manage when you can have a baby. We're
- 29:25Speaker 1: just gonna make notation right that is on there. You
- 29:31Speaker 1: don't get to come back after the PD test, but
- 29:36Speaker 1: you could have taken all the steps and you could
- 29:40Speaker 1: have went in there and asked the doctor for the
- 29:42Speaker 1: team to recommend somebody or if that's some feel they
- 29:49Speaker 1: work in.
- 29:50Speaker 3: So so I don't get in trouble for substances if
- 29:54Speaker 3: I come to you like, hey man, last night, I
- 29:56Speaker 3: wild out at the club bro and you know I
- 29:59Speaker 3: did a lot.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Know what if you confess, well, you're not confessing anything.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You're you're telling me. And this is for a prescribed drug.
- 30:06Speaker 1: This isn't for this is for prescribed medicines. Okay. So
- 30:12Speaker 1: whatever the additive that's in night Quill and ray Quill
- 30:15Speaker 1: can register of false PD. So they any of those
- 30:22Speaker 1: things you can. And that's what I'm saying. I'm not
- 30:26Speaker 1: saying you got to call them tonight. You can tell
- 30:30Speaker 1: them when you get there tomorrow, but you gotta tell them,
- 30:34Speaker 1: but you have to tell them, Okay, Okay, So.
- 30:37Speaker 3: That's that story you sent me Greg, and I didn't
- 30:40Speaker 3: And he said he didn't know that there was something
- 30:43Speaker 3: in it, but it's still it's still something that it's
- 30:49Speaker 3: on that person to be aware of or at.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Least anything in here to be concerned about. Chain of command.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You suspended because you didn't maybe you didn't want anybody
- 31:04Speaker 1: to know. Mmm, I thought about that something like that.
- 31:08Speaker 1: We're talking about it for I didn't know that doesn't
- 31:11Speaker 1: know that.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I wanted to and I wanted to ask, will that
- 31:14Speaker 3: have any bearing because of the sensitivity of the nature
- 31:17Speaker 3: we're talking about.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Virility, fertility.
- 31:22Speaker 3: I'm in a male dominated, macho sport, and here I
- 31:28Speaker 3: am not virile enough to have a child? Could I
- 31:32Speaker 3: make a case for being emotionally and mentally unprepared to
- 31:38Speaker 3: share that information?
- 31:39Speaker 1: You went to tell some doctor, you know how you
- 31:42Speaker 1: got it? Fact the doctor doesn't run back to the.
- 31:47Speaker 15: Right.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I don't know what any we just said.
- 31:51Speaker 5: We just said tell the team doctor or trainer. They
- 31:54Speaker 5: the rest of the team didn't have to know.
- 31:56Speaker 1: No, right right, nobody has to know but the trainer
- 32:01Speaker 1: and the medical staff that would have be in charge
- 32:04Speaker 1: of the drug test. So the head trainer don't have
- 32:07Speaker 1: to go tell the other trainers. This is none of
- 32:09Speaker 1: that kind of thing. So most likely that and that's
- 32:13Speaker 1: why I'm saying, I know, for at least the last
- 32:17Speaker 1: twenty years, it's been one of those things where they
- 32:20Speaker 1: just asked you to come tell anything over the counter
- 32:23Speaker 1: that you're not sure any prescription medicine that you're not
- 32:26Speaker 1: sure is coming here and tell us, so this is
- 32:30Speaker 1: something that is known that you're gonna have to do
- 32:34Speaker 1: that suspension.
- 32:36Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying is they know this Players Association
- 32:39Speaker 4: that you need to go and tell the doctor you've engaged.
- 32:43Speaker 1: With some night quill or some other things that could
- 32:46Speaker 1: be come up showing active.
- 32:48Speaker 4: So that's really on you if you know, because apparently
- 32:53Speaker 4: y'all must have signed off on, like you got this memo.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And from the Players Association.
- 32:59Speaker 4: So can the appeal do they still have a right
- 33:02Speaker 4: to appeal that he can still you know how the
- 33:05Speaker 4: appeal go. Once you get suspended, the appeal everything and
- 33:07Speaker 4: he possibly the games get cut back.
- 33:09Speaker 15: So but.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Well that's what happens a lot of times, like somebody
- 33:14Speaker 1: give five games or not. I was about to say
- 33:18Speaker 1: that that typically like in game you.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Know, so I just want to I just wanted to
- 33:24Speaker 4: get to understanding because I'm would think that the Players
- 33:27Speaker 4: Association would is aware that you have to report this.
- 33:31Speaker 3: But how But the thing is, like like with the story,
- 33:34Speaker 3: like there is a process if if there's a possibility
- 33:37Speaker 3: that there's something that's a band, a possibility of a
- 33:40Speaker 3: banned substance. He could go report that to team doctor
- 33:45Speaker 3: or whoever, and that would provide some context. But providing
- 33:49Speaker 3: context after the fact doesn't do anything.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Do you think guys are scared to report something in
- 33:55Speaker 4: that nature because they're thinking it's gonna look it's gonna
- 33:57Speaker 4: make them look a certain way to the team or
- 34:00Speaker 4: to the doctors, or if they reported to the coaches
- 34:02Speaker 4: and say.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Hey, I think getting caught after the fact make you
- 34:05Speaker 3: look worse if I came to you, But if you
- 34:08Speaker 3: came you and say, hey, man, I'm taking some some
- 34:11Speaker 3: I don't know, some asthma medicine.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But listen, I wanted that nagging injury.
- 34:16Speaker 4: And you're trying to and you're still trying to stay
- 34:19Speaker 4: in and you don't really want to let them know, Hey,
- 34:21Speaker 4: I'm hurting that they're gonna possibly.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Let's let's let's get this right before we go to break,
- 34:26Speaker 1: to see how the Seattle Seahawks has a man working
- 34:31Speaker 1: out for them that don't kidnap some people. And I
- 34:35Speaker 1: ain't judging.
- 34:36Speaker 3: I ain't judging now because we didn't all move people
- 34:40Speaker 3: from one place to another without them being willing to go.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Am I right? Am I right?
- 34:45Speaker 2: Come?
- 34:45Speaker 1: On, done it? Come on, big picture. Now, this man
- 34:50Speaker 1: and the people that are saying they were kidnapping pistol
- 34:53Speaker 1: whipped are the ones who reported him. This is not
- 34:57Speaker 1: like some I don't even know how they're supposed to
- 34:59Speaker 1: get out of this crime. Command you Greg tied me
- 35:03Speaker 1: being big Kenny up. Pistol whipped us. Didn't kill us.
- 35:06Speaker 2: We went and told me it.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Wasn't me specifically, I was on FaceTime talking to me,
- 35:14Speaker 3: but I didn't do the pistol whipping.
- 35:16Speaker 1: So it's like, yeah, you you're the one who was
- 35:19Speaker 1: on the screen talking about pistol whip Kenny real quick.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It was just a suggestion, and say, that's what I'm saying.
- 35:26Speaker 1: You got free wheel.
- 35:28Speaker 3: You had as I said, regardless if you were at
- 35:31Speaker 3: the top of this peerimid or the bottom.
- 35:34Speaker 1: You're under.
- 35:36Speaker 3: A million dollar bond and I'm still working out and
- 35:39Speaker 3: you're still working out, So.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Fertility Drive, the NFL is not trying to keep you
- 35:46Speaker 1: off the field. Trust me. They put this rule in
- 35:49Speaker 1: because guys like myself, we don't know what we might
- 35:53Speaker 1: have bought over the counter, like Big Kay I went
- 35:59Speaker 1: and I we don't know what's going to register. So
- 36:03Speaker 1: I took some kind of something for my headache or
- 36:07Speaker 1: a coal. All they're asking is you come in and
- 36:10Speaker 1: the next morning and tell the train of Jay John Man,
- 36:12Speaker 1: I had whatever, and I put this cream on last night. Okay,
- 36:18Speaker 1: come my mama house. I got a bad headache. She
- 36:21Speaker 1: gave me a pill. What kind of cream is it?
- 36:23Speaker 1: And they put it in. So there's no conspiracy, There
- 36:29Speaker 1: is no angle of trying to keep this young man.
- 36:33Speaker 1: So who are you hiding from? These aren't no, this
- 36:36Speaker 1: is not You got to stand up in front of
- 36:38Speaker 1: everybody and tell them you think the coach. You think
- 36:41Speaker 1: the coach said that man, it's a dude kidnaps some
- 36:43Speaker 1: people working out right now you're talking about I couldn't
- 36:45Speaker 1: tell nobody you could have.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Gone with that dude, doctor Evil. They got doctor Evil
- 36:52Speaker 3: right now.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And for you who don't know cornerback, the young cornerbactarian
- 36:55Speaker 1: Arnold went to University of Alabama playing for Detroit. If
- 37:00Speaker 1: you've forgotten the story already, because in our news cycle,
- 37:03Speaker 1: things hit and they move on. If you remember, the
- 37:07Speaker 1: judge and everybody else was not trying to even give
- 37:10Speaker 1: him bail. He had two young ladies lure some guys
- 37:14Speaker 1: to an apartment where he had some friends, basically kidnap them,
- 37:22Speaker 1: tie them up over some items or some money that
- 37:28Speaker 1: he thought they stole I think at a B and
- 37:32Speaker 1: B or something, and then proceeded to instruct them, unstructed them.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Those guys went after they got loose and reported him
- 37:42Speaker 1: to the law. They arrested the young ladies and charged them.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I'm quite sure they told because they were like eighteen
- 37:49Speaker 1: and nineteen. Terran had was a million dollar bond. They
- 37:54Speaker 1: was trying not even let him out, but since he
- 37:57Speaker 1: had no priors and everybody said he was a good guy.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I gotta love America. And I know that's besides the point.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I don't wanna I don't want to seem like I'm
- 38:07Speaker 3: endorsing any of this, but I'm just saying, when headline
- 38:11Speaker 3: of Dream when they played at National Anthem, you better
- 38:13Speaker 3: get your ass out there on the court.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Just the only country in the world where I can
- 38:18Speaker 1: orchestrate you being.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Kidnapped, pistol whip and then let you go, and them
- 38:22Speaker 5: folks still offer me.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Bond because I was cool up until this.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Y'all ain't had no problems with me up until I
- 38:29Speaker 5: started kidnapping and pistol whipping people.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You gotta love the country. You got to love that
- 38:36Speaker 1: he's being interviewed for other jobs while on suspicion of kidnapping,
- 38:41Speaker 1: or you tiful or Spa and Mike MacDonald's say they're
- 38:48Speaker 1: just going to see how They're gonna wait and see
- 38:50Speaker 1: how it works out.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Or Amber waves uh brain more Right after this, I
- 38:58Speaker 3: Love America, Great.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Roll Star Lifestyle, My down'leg Wist Live and Aridic Legists
- 39:10Speaker 5: and Purpose Dowistle defend.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Them one Day.

- 41:55Speaker 1: Welcome back to the fort Shock Show. I'm the sports Jock,
- 41:57Speaker 1: Wayne Gandy. I'm telling you and a dream and all
- 42:01Speaker 1: of you, I know, just stand up because you're looking
- 42:04Speaker 1: at it from the wrong view. In my opinion, You're
- 42:08Speaker 1: you're not really looking at the country as a whole.
- 42:12Speaker 1: You're you're not really embracing it. You gotta you gotta
- 42:16Speaker 1: embrace it for what the culture we have ideologies that
- 42:20Speaker 1: are far reaching. When the criminals that you hired to
- 42:26Speaker 1: do the crime go and confess it was me and yes,
- 42:34Speaker 1: he told me to do and you can still get
- 42:36Speaker 1: some kind of empathy sympathy about a situation. And because
- 42:42Speaker 1: if I'm one of the guys that was getting hit
- 42:44Speaker 1: with the butt of that pistol. I'm upset today that
- 42:48Speaker 1: you're working out for the Seahawk, you lining up your
- 42:51Speaker 1: next million dollar deal like I'm not sitting here waiting
- 42:55Speaker 1: on a dental implant about to say I'm still. But
- 43:01Speaker 1: I do know it seemed like it would loosen a
- 43:03Speaker 1: tooth up right, I do a lot. It do a lot.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Leave leaves a permanent scar, from what they told me. Now,
- 43:09Speaker 5: from what they told me, I leaves, Okay, I put
- 43:15Speaker 5: that out there in the public record. I've never anybody
- 43:17Speaker 5: with a pistol either.
- 43:18Speaker 3: So, but it will split your face open, and it
- 43:22Speaker 3: will leave some scars that may have to get stitches,
- 43:25Speaker 3: which will also leave more scars from what I've been told.
- 43:30Speaker 3: What was up with the free spree wheel rims riding spinners?
- 43:35Speaker 3: I was thinking about that. I was sitting at there.
- 43:36Speaker 3: I don't know how that popped in my mind. What
- 43:38Speaker 3: was wrong with y'all people out there by s free
- 43:41Speaker 3: whee the name latrail spreewheel because he choked the man out.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Years ago who was big in the cars. I had
- 43:51Speaker 1: decided that he was going and make kids a famous
- 43:55Speaker 1: rim for cars that even when your car will stop,
- 44:00Speaker 1: the wheel would spin.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I'm riding spiners. I'm riding spind us. They don't stop.
- 44:06Speaker 3: I'm riding spiners.
- 44:07Speaker 1: You think the people who bought those are sitting there thinking, Man,
- 44:13Speaker 1: how did I fall for that? Husk?
- 44:14Speaker 3: Oh?
- 44:14Speaker 1: It still got them, They're still available.
- 44:17Speaker 3: How do you get rid of them? How do you
- 44:19Speaker 3: get rid of them? Like nobody wants your spinning rims anymore?
- 44:23Speaker 1: Them? Yeah, I don't know what you got to keep
- 44:25Speaker 1: them now?
- 44:26Speaker 3: It's cognitive if I sell them now or take them
- 44:30Speaker 3: off my car, I have to admit that I was
- 44:32Speaker 3: stupid enough to buy a twelve thousand dollars set of But.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Now in a car show with that, like twenty over
- 44:39Speaker 4: twenty years ago, that's wow. Of the last time you
- 44:42Speaker 4: car they had one? This weekend you went to it
- 44:46Speaker 4: rode through, But I exactly and I as you wouldn't
- 44:49Speaker 4: the last time you went to one. I didn't ask
- 44:51Speaker 4: you last time they had one? When the last time
- 44:55Speaker 4: you put on your calendar to make us.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I used to go with my uncle, wh he had
- 45:00Speaker 1: a nineteen fifty one for Are you a guy who
- 45:02Speaker 1: had some spree?
- 45:03Speaker 2: Wheals?
- 45:03Speaker 1: No, I ain't had no spree afford them, could afford them. Oh,
- 45:07Speaker 1: so there's an item out there that's free wheell hustle
- 45:10Speaker 1: that was so expensive even if you wanted them. The
- 45:13Speaker 1: only rich, dumb people could buy it. It was just
- 45:17Speaker 1: for dumb folks.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Folks with dumb had a bages the trail's.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Free wheel shoes. Yeah, but he had he had the
- 45:27Speaker 1: spinning room, a little spinning rim on the shoe.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Oh oh, I didn't even know he had a shoe.
- 45:32Speaker 3: And y'all won't stand for the flag. Boy, America is
- 45:39Speaker 3: hustle ready.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Oh, Russell Westbrook has decided to retire the future Hall
- 45:46Speaker 1: of Famer first ballot. Don't fool yourself. Writers, won't have
- 45:50Speaker 1: no influence. No, you don't, don't fool yourself. M v
- 45:54Speaker 1: P All time triple double. The only thing Russell, he
- 46:01Speaker 1: was just an unapologetic great player all Barry bonson. He
- 46:09Speaker 1: just never cared to try to fit in, to try
- 46:14Speaker 1: to convince you he's going to fit in. He played
- 46:18Speaker 1: that way, he moved that way. If you told me
- 46:22Speaker 1: he didn't have a friend on the team, I could
- 46:24Speaker 1: have believed that didn't make him a bad teammate. So
- 46:30Speaker 1: he probably was a great teammate. But he seemed he
- 46:33Speaker 1: was to me, he was just another version of a
- 46:37Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant. He had a style, a way, and a
- 46:41Speaker 1: mentality that he was going to approach the game. And
- 46:43Speaker 1: it's funny that those three superstars that were okay, see
- 46:48Speaker 1: all Hall of famers all kind of ran and moved
- 46:52Speaker 1: in the same way. When you think of Russell Westbrook,
- 46:55Speaker 1: James Harden, and Kevin Durant and all their greatness, they're individuals.
- 47:02Speaker 1: They they never really tried to convince you otherwise or
- 47:07Speaker 1: even move like they care what you said about them.
- 47:14Speaker 1: They weren't trying to be media friendly.
- 47:17Speaker 5: No, no, and that's why, and that's why as is
- 47:20Speaker 5: forty five and and tell you mom now, and that's
- 47:25Speaker 5: what I'm saying. We've seen athletes in other sports be
- 47:29Speaker 5: like that. We've seen coaches in other sports be like that,
- 47:34Speaker 5: and it has affected their ability to get into the
- 47:37Speaker 5: Hall of Fame. I Barry Bonds, Bill Belichick, Bill Belichick,
- 47:44Speaker 5: that's the one I was trying to think about. There,
- 47:48Speaker 5: those three examples there far exceed any need for other examples.
- 47:53Speaker 5: The same resume Hends Westbrook. I mean, how you going
- 47:57Speaker 5: to deny my talent? How you're going to deny the
- 47:58Speaker 5: results of my talent, but my personality.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Is what puts you off.
- 48:03Speaker 5: And because of that, I still had to wait or
- 48:07Speaker 5: posture or am still waiting to get into the Hall
- 48:10Speaker 5: of Fame.
- 48:11Speaker 1: We don't see that a lot in the NBA. What's
- 48:14Speaker 1: the difference. I would say that the NFL and Major
- 48:22Speaker 1: league reporters are sensitive solved. Yeah, Themith, they really just
- 48:36Speaker 1: go by your body of work. They had no problem
- 48:40Speaker 1: with the wrot w worm. No, they don't. They don't
- 48:44Speaker 1: seem to take whatever and however you move personal.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I think they tried to get guys in the Hall
- 48:51Speaker 3: of Fame that may not have all of the uh off.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Athletes like Michael Cooper never made an All Star team
- 49:00Speaker 3: UH but he won five championships and he was an
- 49:06Speaker 3: integral part of that lakersy. So he gets put in
- 49:09Speaker 3: even though he may not be like the superstar. There's
- 49:13Speaker 3: so much respect that. Yeah, And I'm saying we got
- 49:18Speaker 3: to find a way to get him, because I would have.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I thought your.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Explanation that assessment was one that I myself had felt,
- 49:28Speaker 3: but I thought it was oversimplified.
- 49:29Speaker 5: I thought I was thinking from a layman's term. They
- 49:32Speaker 5: just sensitive because how else what that.
- 49:37Speaker 1: The NBA, the NBA reporters would put Andre Risen in
- 49:42Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame if he had been an NBA
- 49:46Speaker 1: play whatever and did was the NBA would have seen
- 49:50Speaker 1: it enough to get into the hall.
- 49:55Speaker 4: And you you're not Troy Ymn and what And the
- 49:59Speaker 4: thing about well, Russell Westbrook, as you said, he possibly
- 50:04Speaker 4: a great teammate, and just seeing him in the locker room,
- 50:06Speaker 4: you would think that he would not be the guy.
- 50:10Speaker 4: But the thing about what go out and give you
- 50:12Speaker 4: a triple double? And like those things that he did.
- 50:15Speaker 4: I mean, he went out there unselfish and for his team.
- 50:18Speaker 4: So that's why he's gonna be there. And I know
- 50:21Speaker 4: we'll be back more to Sports Shop Show right after this.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Almost strapping around your Hey, call that Chang or Duch.
- 50:35Speaker 9: Like John Boy Wayne Bard of the Sports John Show
- 50:40Speaker 9: with Wayne Gambidius coming up mast.
- 50:43Speaker 11: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 50:46Speaker 10: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 50:49Speaker 10: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 50:53Speaker 10: have life insurance.
- 50:54Speaker 22: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 50:56Speaker 22: just getting started with our family and thought we lived
- 50:58Speaker 22: forever life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 51:00Speaker 1: What about you?
- 51:01Speaker 11: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 51:04Speaker 22: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 51:05Speaker 22: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 51:07Speaker 22: survive without me. That's why I made an appointment with
- 51:09Speaker 22: the insurance informants.
- 51:11Speaker 10: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 51:14Speaker 10: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 51:16Speaker 22: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 51:19Speaker 22: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 51:21Speaker 10: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 51:23Speaker 10: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 51:25Speaker 10: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 51:28Speaker 10: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 51:31Speaker 10: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 51:36Speaker 10: Log on today benefits or bills dot com? That's benefits
- 51:40Speaker 10: or bills dot com?
- 51:45Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job, Wayne Ganty.
- 51:50Speaker 23: Center Court on sports news gossip. Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Roll out, roll out, roll out, rolled out?
- 52:21Speaker 1: What about to this? What shock shucke?
- 52:22Speaker 7: This?
- 52:22Speaker 1: What shock wing? Can't he? Good morning too? You out
- 52:25Speaker 1: there and listening land Football is upon us at some level.
- 52:33Speaker 1: High school for Georgia kicked off, which was the first
- 52:37Speaker 1: in the country last week, so most high schools will
- 52:41Speaker 1: start up this week around the country. Georgia beat everybody
- 52:45Speaker 1: to the punch and started up. College will be here
- 52:49Speaker 1: probably in at least the next week. There be a
- 52:52Speaker 1: college official college game, you know, So don't think it's
- 52:57Speaker 1: they don't remember they don't have preseason week zero, so
- 53:00Speaker 1: we will start off week one. It's week one for
- 53:04Speaker 1: two weends, but it's just zero zero thought that's why
- 53:10Speaker 1: they probably named the zero trying to sell the zero
- 53:12Speaker 1: to two week one. It's a two weeks no zero, right,
- 53:17Speaker 1: I got used to zero. A lot of people do. Well. Actually,
- 53:23Speaker 1: we just accepted zero because they kind of forced it
- 53:25Speaker 1: on us.
- 53:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it never maged sense and were like, that don't
- 53:28Speaker 5: make sense. But they were like, no, that's what it is.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:31Speaker 5: Now they go, no, you know what, we thought about
- 53:33Speaker 5: what you said, and it doesn't make sense. So we're
- 53:36Speaker 5: just gonna have two week one, which doesn't make so
- 53:39Speaker 5: it make it week three.
- 53:41Speaker 1: No, once we get into two. This week one is two.
- 53:45Speaker 1: There's two games weeks. You got it? Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 53:52Speaker 1: we got it. Just just just just imagine it is
- 53:54Speaker 1: week zero and that'll clear everything. The Hall of Fame
- 54:00Speaker 1: class for the NBA went in this past week with
- 54:06Speaker 1: Elena Deladon being inducted, Candice Parker being inducted, should meet
- 54:14Speaker 1: a host claw inducted official, Joey Crawford, Doc Rivers, Mike D'Antoni,
- 54:23Speaker 1: Gonzaga coach Mark Few, and Amri Stoda. Mind going in
- 54:32Speaker 1: our stod of minor. It's kind of like when I
- 54:35Speaker 1: said Andre Rising dominant, but then injuries kind of derailed them.
- 54:43Speaker 1: But the NBA reporter a little being a little different,
- 54:47Speaker 1: the Nasmith Basketball Hall of Fame being a little different
- 54:51Speaker 1: takes your whole collective into account. Question, Well, I know
- 54:59Speaker 1: about one of them inductees, and and and again, I.
- 55:04Speaker 3: No one sees fit to try and fix this in
- 55:07Speaker 3: the NFL, in Major League Baseball, because if you can
- 55:11Speaker 3: keep Barry Bonds and Bill Belichick out, how will.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I ever get in?
- 55:16Speaker 19: Yeah?
- 55:17Speaker 3: I played twelve years, and I've won a lot of games,
- 55:19Speaker 3: and I was good, and I stayed with the one team,
- 55:22Speaker 3: and I got a championship, and I got a couple
- 55:25Speaker 3: of All Star games, And how will I get in?
- 55:28Speaker 3: You didn't make Bill Belichick in, How will I ever
- 55:31Speaker 3: get into the Hall of Fame?
- 55:33Speaker 1: I mean, you basically can't even put another coach in
- 55:35Speaker 1: until Belichick get in. Now, no matter who comes up,
- 55:39Speaker 1: everybody gonna question. You had a question, sir.
- 55:43Speaker 4: Yeah, congratulations to everyone, and I see you know you
- 55:49Speaker 4: got the two probably the two best players to play
- 55:52Speaker 4: at the University of Tennessee in Cannis Parker Shamika holes call.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Do you think that those off the court problems that
- 55:59Speaker 4: we just talked about, the different things that possibly with
- 56:03Speaker 4: the NBA it's not different than Major League Baseball In
- 56:06Speaker 4: the Football Hall of Fame, But if you remember Seeks
- 56:09Speaker 4: because she had some things that went a little different
- 56:13Speaker 4: in her which because her career is great, she's probably
- 56:16Speaker 4: I mean, I love watching her play basketball. Do you
- 56:20Speaker 4: think that because her and Kandas going in together and
- 56:22Speaker 4: they was like four or five years apart, you think
- 56:24Speaker 4: that probably that's one thing that that they you held
- 56:28Speaker 4: it against.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Her to keep her out as long. No, I didn't
- 56:31Speaker 1: think so. I think Shimika didn't do a lot on
- 56:34Speaker 1: the w n B a level from what I can remember,
- 56:40Speaker 1: she wasn't the superstar in the w n B A
- 56:43Speaker 1: as much as she was in Tennessee. And remember they keep.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Yeah, there were much higher expectations for her in the
- 56:50Speaker 3: in the w n b A than that she may
- 56:53Speaker 3: not have. I mean, she she made the All Star
- 56:55Speaker 3: Game a few times, she led the league in scoring once,
- 57:00Speaker 3: But the college career is what she is known for
- 57:03Speaker 3: a whole lot more than her w NB.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I think her college career is what really pushed her.
- 57:08Speaker 1: So since she didn't necessarily have a pro to go
- 57:10Speaker 1: along with it, Uh, it put her by a little
- 57:14Speaker 1: a little while. And I'm quite sure she's, you know,
- 57:17Speaker 1: grateful that she's going in with Candice. Yeah, that's that's
- 57:21Speaker 1: a good thing, you going with somebody that was kind
- 57:24Speaker 1: of like you passed she did in a sense. But
- 57:30Speaker 1: h and I'm still stuck, sir. I just I still
- 57:34Speaker 1: can't understand how they let that happen.
- 57:36Speaker 5: The writers seem like for people who just write about
- 57:40Speaker 5: the sport, that seemed like far too much power over
- 57:44Speaker 5: the sport.
- 57:44Speaker 3: Well with with Bill Belichick. Also there are there are
- 57:49Speaker 3: in their committee of other Hall of famers that kind
- 57:52Speaker 3: of vote them because the story gament that like Bill Pollian,
- 57:56Speaker 3: who uh a long time GM was kind of the
- 58:01Speaker 3: the leader of not letting Bill Belichick in because of
- 58:07Speaker 3: the flake Gates, spygate or whatever they you know, they
- 58:10Speaker 3: try to blame him for. So it could be people
- 58:14Speaker 3: in the league who get who have these votes that
- 58:18Speaker 3: would have kept him out or or had that kind
- 58:20Speaker 3: of influence to keep him out.
- 58:21Speaker 1: There is no influence. There is no explanation. There is
- 58:25Speaker 1: no And that's the thing. I'm not even going to
- 58:28Speaker 1: sit here and try to dress up nine super Bowls.
- 58:34Speaker 1: There was no, Like the hell you talking about that?
- 58:39Speaker 1: I mean, what are you talking about? Nine as a coach?
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he was seven as a head and
- 58:44Speaker 3: two as a man. Name anybody name the closest coach
- 58:48Speaker 3: to that with four stop stop. He and Hall their
- 58:55Speaker 3: coaches who didn't make it. Billick't bare knuckle boxer, somebody
- 59:00Speaker 3: that's a writer and getting the Hall of Fame.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I don't know what need to be done. And that's
- 59:05Speaker 1: why I said it's totally that the NBA and the
- 59:07Speaker 1: basketball they are they didn't put their emotions in it.
- 59:12Speaker 1: What you accomplish is what you accomplished. Now we can
- 59:15Speaker 1: we can gauge whether you're one or first year or
- 59:19Speaker 1: fifth year, but we're not wanting to deny that Amari
- 59:24Speaker 1: Shotamar for a window of time was the dude, I
- 59:28Speaker 1: don't have fifteen years of it, but I got six.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Well, y'all wasn't stopping him, but so making a And
- 59:35Speaker 3: if you're qualified in your first year, you qualify.
- 59:38Speaker 1: That's just it. Whereas NFL definitely seems like they can't
- 59:42Speaker 1: even decide what measurement to go by of what makes
- 59:48Speaker 1: you right really because we don't even know what it
- 59:52Speaker 1: is not doing and never took a day off. Shit,
- 59:55Speaker 1: how's that I can give you? I can give you
- 59:58Speaker 1: over two hundred Baselli can give you ninety eight. Yeah,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: but we gonna get that. I don't know how that
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: we're gonna get that.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: It's played five years, but Frank Gore is still waiting
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: and he's third all time in yards.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Oh, believe you're sixteen. We work hot a man with
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: sixteen years, So they haven't figured out what their gauge is.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Sports Duck Show right after this.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Bare knuckle Box ain't samebody on the Friday called me
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: doctor Doctor. I the squire.
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: Don't go away board of the Sports Josh Hill with
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: Wayne Gambia is coming up.
- 1:00:38Speaker 24: Next, you said you'd never buy your kid candy from
- 1:00:42Speaker 24: the checkout aisle, or forget extra diapers, and never give
- 1:00:48Speaker 24: into a meltdown. You never lick your thumb to clean
- 1:00:54Speaker 24: their face, never let them have too much green time,
- 1:00:59Speaker 24: and never pry them for just one more bite. You
- 1:01:04Speaker 24: say you'd never let them out in public without their
- 1:01:07Speaker 24: hair brush, never ever become a minivan mom, and you'd
- 1:01:12Speaker 24: never give them your phone for a quiet.
- 1:01:14Speaker 25: Dinner calling boss work phone.
- 1:01:18Speaker 24: So when you say you'd never leave your child in
- 1:01:20Speaker 24: a hot car, no, it can happen. Cars get hot fast,
- 1:01:27Speaker 24: and kids can be at risk in temperatures as low
- 1:01:29Speaker 24: as sixty degrees fahrenheit. Never happens before you leave the car.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Always stop.
- 1:01:36Speaker 24: Look luck brought to you by NITZA and the ad Council.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Not why so serious?
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: And we hold the world ransom for.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whipped this house broadcasting live and
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: it led to your job. It's a sports shot shot
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: with Wayne.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: You may come to farn comes comes to mind?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Is it just.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it? Yeah, I'm gonna go on the
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: way you.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Welcome back to the spot Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shocks.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Wayne can'ty good morning to you out there in listening
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: and land great first hour as we discussed uh, fertility,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: man's all kind of stuff.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: In that first hour of the Hall of Fame, we
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: threw a little spree wheel rims in there. Why can't
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: a biological woman actually say she just don't want to
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: play again?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Big Kenny openly just why do I have to be
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Why do I even have to be criticized? It's just
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: what is your opinion on it? I don't want to
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: do it. But we call that controversy, as Comanche Greg
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: said on a social media and Russell Westbrook the complicated
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Hall of Famer, as I said, first ballot, no doubt,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: especially dealing with the basketball combination of all kinds of spirits,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: and nobody played his hard as Russell Westbrook. Some of
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: some of why he had bad moments is because he
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: was playing to him.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: I was about to say some of that competitiveness caused
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: them to falter.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: But definitely after eighteen years and I'm won't be surprised
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: if he's back in March. This could be an after
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: all Star break. This could be a contender, one of
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: the four contenders. Someone is injured. Heard he gonna get
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: off that couch because you know, he got a little
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: vanity in him. Think he's a fashion nova. So you
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: imagine he about to keep the app routine going because
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: he's like to walk around with a shirt with his
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: chest unzipped. Y'all, you know his chest.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: He the only person I've never seen with his chest
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: unzipped either I'm talking about the diagonal chess zip where
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: the suit with or the blazer no shirt.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Think he's gonna move to New York a nick Team
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: six or Team uh San Antonio or any of those
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: teams needing something come May. I'm not May come March.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Trust me, Gems have him on the list of replacements
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: at that point in the season. So I wouldn't be
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: surprised if he's back, because remember, the one thing he
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: does not have is a championship, and uh so I
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: why wouldn't he take that opportunity? Did you see? And
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: and that's not ring chasing, are y'all? People here talking
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: about ring chasing? Y'all say that when the King move,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Lebron James is not ring chased. Ring chase would have
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: meant that you want to ring Before I got there,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I would have to go to a team that was
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: just coming off of ring. Where did Lebron go that
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: had just want to ring team? They want to ring
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: after he got there? Exactly? How how does he ring chasing?
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: I think that people have ring chase. He could have
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: went to New York. I'm quite sure. Yeah, they wanted him.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: He went for the minimum.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: He could have went to New York and and y'all
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: already won one just without me. How come you wouldn't
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: win the whole thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: With these scenarios when he but you don't want to
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: ring because I.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Came the opposite day, is like, Okay, he's supposed to
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: go to a team that has no chance even if
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: he shows up, they're not gonna win. He's just out
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: there for the love of the game.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: When Lebron James shuts down about twenty five million dollars
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: that he could have made, that is the love of
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: the game.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but he still he but he's not going to
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: go to a team to just go out there and play.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: I mean, he wasn't going to go to the I
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: don't know what's a bad team, the Sacramento Kings. The
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Sacramento Kings. For that four million dollars he wouldn't gonna
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: fill the Sacramento for four dollars just to go out
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: there and play.
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: Well, you want to go somewhere where you think you
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: can compete for a ring, not that somebody's just going
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: to hand you a ring.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Philly still has to get out of the East. They
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: still Philly hasn't won a ring in forty years. They
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: still got to get there.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: And I mean they have a ring since ay.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: I that's why it's over It's overstated to say that
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: he's ring chased. He went to a team that has
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: a chance, and he's going he wants to play for
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: a chance to win another one, now, don't I don't
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: see the issue with that. Would the established reality be
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: that anywhere he would have gone, that team would now
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: technically have a chance because at this point it's corerectly
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: strictly on the and again, for me, I imagine Lebron's
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: biggest impact on a team is the mental confidence that
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: everybody now has.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I'm part of the Justice League, Like you know, we
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: was just.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: A ragtag group of Vincil Lanti superheroes out here and
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: then Superman say, hey man, can.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I link with y'all? And now we the whole Justice Force.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Maybe we need to come up with a better name,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: but you know, we.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Organized now and so eventually we end up as the
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Justice League. And I'm out here a whole hawk man.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I was just bird guy before and now I'm hawk man.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: So I think that Lebron anywhere he would have went,
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: they would have a chance.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Tom Brady wanted to play football. Why would he go
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: to the sorriest team that didn't have a chance? Right?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: So how is that ring chasing? He went to Tampa
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: and brought Tom helped bring Tampa a ring like he's
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: he saw, Oh they're they're a me away. That's that's
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: what Now. I would ask this question.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: If you had an ambition that you hope to attain
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: and you saw a group of people that you could
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: collaborate with, and all they needed to get to that
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: goal was a you, you wouldn't join them people, No
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: I would, I'm saying, so I don't understand people's criticism.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Yeah don't. I don't get where when I you know?
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: And it went away real quick. But when I kept
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: thinking more ring chasing? Is if you I went to
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: the team that want a ring you know, Joelo b
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: and don't know nothing about winning.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: No ring.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: They don't even really know much about to play. When
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the last time the six was in the final twenty
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: five years ago, Okay, so that shuts that down. And
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: the last thing when you're older, you have to go
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: somewhere that gives you motivation. Lebron gonna go to Sacramento.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: He might as well went home. It's not as part
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: of the energy level is the expectation. You go somewhere
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: without expectation, then you don't perform either. Right, I'm trying
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: to give you the best of me. Yeah, you don't
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: perform either. You go down. Because I can imagine that's
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: why KD a couple I would tell you he just
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: he's not going to Charlotte. Remember just this last year,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: he was like, I'm not going he would just retire
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: some team. While Carmelo when he came to the Hawks,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: it was like, nah, I'm not playing for the Hawks.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: You I might keep this trade wagon going. Ain't nobody
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: these people aren't going to teams not to commpete.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: The fans be bored watching these games. Why would I
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: go and watch these games? I'm saying anything over there
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: out of the amen corner.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I'm just I wanted to finish on the Russell Westbrook
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: where Elder Casey had made a comment. I just wanted
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: to ask you as far as uh, he said out
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: of control? A lot of people have said that, do
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: you do you think Westbrook played out of control?
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: A lot of times? I don't think so.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: I just thought he said consistent, consistently out of controlrol
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: you were saying how consistent Russell wad was, But and
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: he comment consistently out of control?
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: And uh, That's why I didn't. I didn't think he
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: was out of control. I just thought that he played hard.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: I mean that's he played it. He played at one speed. Yeah,
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: once be and sometimes that that can that can hurt
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: the team.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: And for me, I saw flashes of his willingness to
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: hijack the game plan. The game plan was to get
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: the ball in that this guy, get it over to
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: that guy and let him take the last shot. But
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: I thought, in that critical moment that ain't nobody better
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: to have the ball than myself?
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Do we know that was wasn't a game plan?
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: That?
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Do we know?
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: Were we in the huddle and the coach? I mean
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: a lot of times we're just assuming we're assuming that,
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: well I could.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I'm because sometimes y'all are testing my cte. I thought.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: When I was talking about Russell Westbrook, I said, sometimes
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: his playing so hard was the negative to his game
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: that cost him the game exactly because he was Sometimes
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: because he was like that, right, it got him out
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: of control. The same thing when I was talking about
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: in Greece, I gave her all the accolades. I said,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: the one thing I noticed is that when you ask me,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: she needs to gather herself, come to balance. Balance. She's
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: missing stuff because she won't gather herself and kind of
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: slow down to finish. She's always kind of like caffeinated
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: Russell Westbrook. What made him great was that I'm just
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: gonna go all out and I'm gonna accept the mistakes along,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: but my greatness is gonna be bigger than the mistakes.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Now, the mistake might be just the one mistake, and
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: that one mistake might cost us the game but.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: The MVP. But trust me, a coach would rather have
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: to figure out how to get you to calm down
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: than to bring you up then to try to get
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: you to go. Yeah, trust me, you best believe that
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: every industry how to get you to relax man, relax, brod.
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: Rather try I've heard we'd rather try and pull it
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: back than push it out.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Then to motivate you, I gotta get Russell. Hey, hey,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: six seconds, slow down, he's up. Why do you that's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: the problem, trying to get somebody to go? We love
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: though those what's to do.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: Was Ben Simmons one and people came along and then
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: just decided he don't want.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: To go, No one, no motivation'll go. We'll be back
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: more to Sports Jock Show right after this.

- 1:18:04Speaker 5: him in a little group chat.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Just one fire give it work to me, to me, Fireman,
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: give the work to me. Madonna, Madona Okay, before she
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: get out of here. What I'm saying, the material girl
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: we'll get might get a little weird. Hey man, I'm saying,
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: I ain't.
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: Got a lot of time on the clock, sports jacket.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: If I'm gonna do weird. Now's my window. You see
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: what I'm saying. Now's my Madonna window. Angela Basket, she
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: she would keep it, she would keep it regular. She's
- 1:18:35Speaker 5: gonna set you, She's gonna burn all your clothes.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that was her character. That was a movie.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: That was what I'm saying that that that ain't the
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: real Angela Basket Madonna. Everything you saw her doing, she
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: did as Madonna.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I brought these in, guys, I was reading the report
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: said these were like something be I never had uncrustables,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: oh man, part of yesterday. I was reading report this
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: week that this is a big hit in the n
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: f L and that the guys can't get enough of it.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: And I thought I would share and we could all
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: have one. This is not something I let him throw out,
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: so they should be good to go. Yeah, and it's
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: just a side. The sports jock has never had an uncrustable.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: By show of.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Hands, oh, everybody said, oh, Greg, okay, I had the strawberry.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: That's the only thing I didn't like is you can't
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Michael wait, you can't Michael w Right when you gotta
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: wait thirty minutes.
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: You know you don't Michael jealous, but you gotta wait
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: thirty minutes. These are bread, Thank you. We gott to
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: toast the bread. I toasted bread on regular pean. But
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: don't look at it like that, Greg, I try. I
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: didn't know like you boutis in the quick trick. You're
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: supposed to freeze them. They stayed, they came, they came frozen.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: They come from frozen, and you take you take, come
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: out like fifteen minutes minutes, yeah, thirty minutes before you
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: consume them.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're not supposed to make away from fridge
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: or freeze.
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: That's why I like, Okay, So I'm gonna try. Oh yeah,
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: come on, man, let's see what it's working with you
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: man behind us, boys, aren't you.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: In the crust?
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: See now, if you had a couple of shots of
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: night Quill, you go, you got the same I got
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: the bigger box and you got the twenty four and
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: for the forty eight.
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: I'm thinking it'll work with you now I like them.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: The jelly wanted to get on inside. No, you gotta
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: be going, gotta keep going. Then you get to the jelly.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: It's choking me. You gotta you gotta get to the inside. Class.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna need something, you need, you gotta squeeze
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: it ain't it may come up.
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: It ain't a solo saying which you have to squeeze
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: to make the jelly come up. You know, squeeze in
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: the milk. Now, that's why it's called the crustaball. What
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: I'm uncrustable. What I'm I'm confused about, though. What I'm
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: confused about is why wouldn't I just make a peanut
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: butter and Jean butter and jelly soundwich.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Don't ruin the marketing, sir, don't ruin it. Don't ruin it.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: It's called quick fast because because I had to have
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: this conversation at home with my wife because we was
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: in the store.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: And yeah, look, the babies would love this. I'm cross
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: the balls. It's peanut butter sandwhich is already made.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: And I said, yeah, you know, but your bread at home, yea,
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: And I'm available to make sandwiches. So why would we
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: sandwiches that we got to wait thirty fan of the
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: people to takete the crust off.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: You know, when you make see and they have to
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: sell you an angle that people are willing to buy. Yeah,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: but that bad produce. I hear what you're saying, but
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: for my mind, it just screams how lazy and out
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: of touch of your own life? Do you want to
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: live that while you're making the most simplest thing you
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: can make in a kitchen, you mean to tell me
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: you ain't got enough time to cut peanut jelly sandwich.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: That's typically the first thing a parent will let their
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: kids go make by themselves, with no feeling that they're
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: going to hurt themselves while they're doing it. So, and
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: if you don't want to crust you.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Just there's a lot of peanut allergies, so they had
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: I feel they can't No, no peanut allergies ain't got
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: nothing to do with peanut butter. Have you got a
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: peanut allergy? You can't eat peanut butter out of uncrustables
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: or any other kind of stuff, So it's best to
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: have it. So the thing this is for people who
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: don't want crusts, who figured they so busy they ain't
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: got time to cut crust off their breaks.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: Man, I love this, man, it's that I love. Those
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: people are sociopaths, and I'm saying the world is full
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: of socio paths.
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: That's what we're creating the world. Man, you don't like that,
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: we'll be back. He's not saying he don't like it.
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: He's saying he don't see the necessity of it. I'm
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: just wondering, Yeah, buying this is stupid. I don't have
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: to buy this. I'll just buy it.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: I'll buy a large jar of peanut butter and the
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: two pack of jelly, and I'll make fifty seven thousand
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: of these fresh, unfrozen.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: I ain't gotta wait thirty minutes for him the thought.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you on the we'll be back more
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: to Sports Jack Show right after yours.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Now I'm working out the super you know, you know

- 1:24:00Speaker 1: what's first?
- 1:24:01Speaker 11: Smokey Bear said, too, first.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Drown it with the bucket of water, then stir it
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: with a shovel. Wow, you sound just like him. Then
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: he said, if it's still warm, then do it again.

- 1:24:58Speaker 25: took lightly, but with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:25:01Speaker 25: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:25:03Speaker 25: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own home.
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: To me, where are your napkins?
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Not that drawer unless anyone.

- 1:25:30Speaker 23: Gandy Player's Lounge. You have been given full access to
- 1:25:42Speaker 23: the player's lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: What back to this?
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: What shock shop? This wshock wing candy. The legend of
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Tommy John. Most people that have been around over the
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: last forty years may have heard of this surgery if
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: you're anywhere close to the sports world, Tommy John's surgery.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: And you wouldn't have been wrong if you thought Tommy
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: John was the doctor. So that's not like you know,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: typically in something like that, it could be easily named
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: after the doctor. In this case, it was named after
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: the experimental surgery. Tommy John, the baseball player allowed on
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: his arm actually able to recover, was out about almost
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: two years and had a better second half of his
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: career than first half of his career, a lot of
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: winning in his career as well, But passing away of
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: eighty three is Tommy John. Over the last couple of days,
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: gooy sir, It.
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: Just struck me that for someone whose name is attached
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: to a surgery that is spoken about in Major League
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: Baseball almost every Major League Baseball game where they have
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: a premier pitcher, it seemed just really odd to me
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: that I thought Tommy John had been gone, Like, don't
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: nobody ever talk to him in person? Maybe that's his choice, though,
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: but they talk about the surgery so much. Nobody ever
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: wanted to talk to the og of the surgery, the originator,
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: the emancipator, Like, I just find that dubious that nobody
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: actually talked to the living John. He was right here
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: up until about last week, yes, and nobody said nothing
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: to him.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully they got some kind of have you seen
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: like a thirty for thirty for him? Did they have
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: something like that? I think there's a hopefully somebody did
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: at least one documentary. I would I would have imagined
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: there should have been just countless.
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: But my surprise strictly came in under the fact that
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: he was still alive all this time, In all of
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: this time, he was here to pick his brain and
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: talk about the feelings and the post climate of the
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: Tommy John surgery. And who were some of the Hall
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: of famers that had helped extend their careers.
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: All of that.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: I think they're saying about a third of the current
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: pictures have had it. I've had it at some point.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: There's a there's a thirty for thirty short about him
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: and the doctor who performed the surgery, and and let's
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: see if there's a I think that's the only that's
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: the only.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: And and are you able to lay twenty six years?
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: He was a four time All Star. This was surgery
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: that had never been done before on Tommy John.
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: He won about one hundred games round don't don't hold
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: me too precisely, but like a one hundred wins before
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: the surgery and had about one forty or something after
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: this circe.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: And that could you explain Tommy John surgery to the
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: listeners in the layman's form, it's.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: A it's the ligament in the elbow right from from what.
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: I know, the.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Aligament with attendant craft from the from your body part
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: of a donor.
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and you and you put that ligament from another
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: part of your body in your elbow and they sort
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: of staple it from.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: The elbow at the forearm in the elbow together. And
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: from my understand it says.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: That the thirty one year old toward his old nar
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: collateral ligment, which is in his pitching elbow, he allowed
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: doctor Frank Joel the Dodger's position to replace the ligament
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: with attendon from his right fore arm.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: So interesting procedure that got named at It says more
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: than twenty six hundred big leaguers and thousands more amateurs
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: have since had this Timmy John surgery.
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: And I was thinking, don't do a lot of people
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: have it to be able to get In other words,
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: do is it something that they need? I'm thinking somewhere
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: going to get it done just to help along with
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: their career.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: It also gives them a little edge, Well, I would imagine, Yeah,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: if you're replacing it, that's probably whatever you're that ligament
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: is maybe built of stronger material than what is in
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: your elbow, and so it may give you a little
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: more security when if but you got to realize the
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: risk is that it has to take and the rehabit.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: The rehabit is important.
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: So don't just say, oh, let me go get this
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: done and cut a piece of my arm out and
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: put it in another piece of my arm.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: No, it don't really work that easy. Yeah, but Tommy John,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: as you said, mc kenny has been a lot, and
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: I think sometimes when it because Luke Garrick's disease. Luke
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Garritt passed away, right, So I think maybe that might
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: be why you associated.
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: With Yeah, you would think that they would award surgery
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: named to you posthumously. I wouldn't think that you would
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: still be living while the surgery, Like.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Let me get the surgery that Tommy John got.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: And I just wondered when you'd be walking up to
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: some of the Major League was like, you know, I
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: saved your career, don't you.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Watts versus versus Sanders, the Cleveland Browns going to have
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: to make a decision at least in week one, DeShawn
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: Watson was it was written as I was. I didn't
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: watch the game, but I did read three different articles
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: where they said he and I looked back to numbers
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: had a better game than Shaduur Sanders, both quarterbacks under
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: a lot of pressure. Deshaun Watson has been away basically
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: two years, right, I don't think he's played the game
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: since twenty October twenty twenty four, so two years. A
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: lot of motivation. You imagine that Deshaun has in those
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: two years a lot of us we've been in the media.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: So I don't think he's taking the field without filling
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: that pressure in that mindset of trying to prove himself
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: that whatever made him great is what's going to push
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: him to try to show that he couldn't play football.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Most athletes don't want to leave under that umbrella, right,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: they might not have been the greatest thing. And you
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: see even like someone like a bill Ben Simmons you
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: mentioned him. I've read something that he looks like maybe
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: he's gonna try to come back. He's trying to be
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: in the Australian League or at least go somewhere to play,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: because nobody wants to leave with some kind of bust
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: label label on them. So a lot of motivation for
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson. Now he was getting paid the whole time
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: he'd been out the last two years. Yeah, his contract
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: was guaranteed.
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: Yeah, so he gets the job we be I mean,
- 1:33:37Speaker 5: you got to earn some of the money we've been
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: giving you to down and get out there.
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: I mean, should do it. You be eight.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: If we need you, we'll call you in. I'm signing
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: this dude's checks, and I just won't. I just I
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: just want to see him earn some of that is
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: what maybe thirty thirty one, Yes, I mean it's just
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: a it's the I don't know before like he's gonna
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: he might get like four games unless they're four and oh,
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: game five, they're probably gonna go to Shador. So but
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: it's like we got to put him out there to
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: at least see what we have. But I don't think
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: there's any high expectations for him. Well, and at least
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: in one first week, COMANCHI, I'm playing better than you.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: You didn't. You hadn't solidified the job. It's not like you.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Yeah right now.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: But and they think they said they're gonna start Shador
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: for the second game, but that doesn't really we'll see
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: what you have. Any impact on your decision making is
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: Shador came in and kind of fought his way into
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: the starting position last season. Correct, No, it was more like, okay,
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: we we They started with Flacco and then they went
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: to Dylan Gabriel and then they went to Shador, and
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: Shador showed some flashes of greatness, and so he already
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: had his engine running.
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: His muscles will lose. He had loosened up. Dashawan been
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: sitting there for two years and came out on a
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: cold start and still did better than you, Which makes
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: me think, if you have a few more, let's see
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: where we can get you to. And that's my only
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: thing should do. With all of your reps and all
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: of your ability to get on the field, you still
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: haven't made us go. That's my guy, And it seems
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: like you've had ample opportunity to impress me if that's
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: what you're trying to do. And if I'm still on
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: the fence, even with the fact that I'm paid Sean
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: Watson like more money than University's making a semester, Still
- 1:35:42Speaker 5: you got out there and you proved that you were
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: worth waiting for. So I just think Shadeer still has
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: a little ways to go.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, then in a great situation, they got three quarterbacks.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: Most likely they're going to trade either Deshaun Watson or
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Dalan Gabriel. Uh, you would imagine it would be the
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: quarterback that they So it either is going to be
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Deshaun starting, should Dour backing up, or it's going to
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: be should do or starting Dylan Gabriel backing up and
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: use DeShawn as a trade. Yeah, because you've got so
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: many teams that don't have a quarterback. Falcons would easy
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: he be right in the mix of competition because you
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: don't have a quarterback.
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: So and you say the Falcons when they got a
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: whole quarterback competition.
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: Going on right now, Man, I would trade. I would
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: trade for Deshaun Watson.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: So you you've given up on so you've done with Watson,
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: you've given up. No, it means I could get something.
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: I could get a better quarterback that's already been proven.
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: And I'm saying, therefore, you given up this.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: I'm not giving up. I'm just going I'm going. That's
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: what it says to Michael Pennick. That's what I might
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: not say that to you, but.
- 1:37:09Speaker 5: That's what it says to Michael Pennick Because what I'm saying,
- 1:37:12Speaker 5: I'm feeling he was supposed to be that guy when
- 1:37:15Speaker 5: we went out and got two well, and then TWOA
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: came in and made me go, hey, man, I thought
- 1:37:20Speaker 5: this is my job, and then you'll go out and
- 1:37:23Speaker 5: get the Shawn Watson, which means one of us got
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: to go.
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: Well when I got people pointing out that he's playing
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: Timid as a quarterback, showing me, oh he doesn't he Hey,
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: I didn't know you was wrong.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: I'm pointing out what Michael Pennix is gonna see, like
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: Greg saying he gonna that you traded for the shun.
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: I'm not even he won't be we trade. He won't
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: even know the sun here. He just know that he
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: was a part of the trade that he gave up.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: What trade the Cleveland Cavaliers. I mean the Cleveland Browns
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: aren't gonna trade for Michael Pennick. No that we'll be
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: a three ways something. You know, we had nothing. Couple
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: of teams of being NFL don't really do three ways
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: too much. We'll be back more to the sports jock
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: show right out there where they do, just not on

- 1:40:32Speaker 1: Back to the spot Shock Show. I'm the Sportshock Wayne Candy.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: As we roll into college football season, we know the
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: Quarterback Award, you know that's what I call it is
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: really a quarterback running back Award. I'm still not sure
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: why nobody's ever really brought that up with this Heisman
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: Trophy situation. In almost one hundred years of the Heisman Trophy,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: about ninety five of them are the award has gone
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: to a running back or a quarter back, and nobody
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: seems to care that. The Heisman Trophy and the award
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: was supposed to go. The most prestigious individual award in America,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: given out every December. It honors the nation's most outstanding
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: college football player who shows great ability, hard work, and
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: team work. It was established in nineteen thirty five. It
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: didn't say quarterback, running back to me, when you validate something,
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: it means have a little more variety than what this
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: award because by the award stand, there's never been an
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: outstanding linebacker or safety or old lineman or tight end.
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: It's just been quarterbacks and running backs. There's a couple
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: of receivers in there, a couple. I think it's like
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: there's like two there's like two receivers and or three
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: receivers and two defensive guys that also play especially or
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: receivers out of the five. So why why no outrage?
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: Why are y'all just letting this be a quarterback?
- 1:42:32Speaker 17: Hey?
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: They scared to set the writers because they know how
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: the writers can be. Because I think over time there
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: are less people that watch the games, like they only
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: look at the box scores to see like and they're
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: what kind of counting stats are there for the offensive lineman?
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: Re remember one year with Orlando Pace was a finalist
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: and like, well he had at this many pancake blocks
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: and I had never heard of that stat before. But
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: it becomes it became like a stat that we to
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: measure offensive lineman by on the college level at least.
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: And it's well, they're not looking at the We're looking
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: at the guy who has the ball. That's how people
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: are watching the game. They look at the guy who
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: has the ball, and the quarterback has the ball all
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: the time.
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: Do you think part of the problem is I know,
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: we say the reporters, it was a set up by
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: the reporters, but you do have to understand that the
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: winners actually have a vote themselves.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: So majority of the winners off right back the same mentality.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: All they see is themselves. Right now, in the top
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: five favorites is CJ. Carr, arch Manning, Dante Moore, Darien
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Mensa and Julian Saying. All those are quarterbacks.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: And now, in my opinion, a lot of why it's
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: marketed that way is because of marketing football, especially college football,
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: seems to me that's become a great deal like politics,
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: name recognition and the most ads win. So when we
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: start talking about the Heisman, who's ever the top story
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: on the sports show? Whoever gets the clip of the
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: week is the person we start thinking is the best athlete? Now,
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: because the quarterback highlights are the things people tune in for,
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: we never see the pancake block. We never see this
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: dude make sure that their quarterback hadn't been sacked his
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: whole college career. This my last year playing for the team,
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: and ain't nobody ever sacked my quarterback coming from this side?
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: And nobody ever cares about I thought the fairness, as
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: I have said on this show many at times, you
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: take all the individual award winners and those are the
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: candidates for the Heisman, that would be that would be
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: a good measuring outlet. You take the buck, because you
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: take Thorpe, you take the Beltnant call, take whatever the quarterback,
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: the Maxwell or whatever it is. What is the quarterback?
- 1:45:13Speaker 19: Uh?
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: There are a couple of the night nine is you
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: take those seven eight awards, which is pointing out the
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: best person.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: At those those positions and then they all compete for
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: the highs and those people compete for the heisman that
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: validates everybody's effort.
- 1:45:29Speaker 4: Yes, and if the quarterback or the runner back continue
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: to win, at least you say you have all those
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: out there and if to vote but this, but I
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: still think because of the voting that because you have
- 1:45:41Speaker 4: so many running backs and quarterbacks still getting a vote,
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: I think that's part of the problem.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Well, really, and again, when we talk about conditioning, do
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: you ever think that part of the process is to
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: a degree, old linemen, like the sports job, have been
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: conditioned to believe leave. Part of yo responsibility in this
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: machine is to be anonymous.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: That's what you do.
- 1:46:09Speaker 5: You help us win the games. We all gonna get
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: a ring. But come on, man, you protecting our quarterback
- 1:46:15Speaker 5: and that's what you out here for.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Soldier. You ain't no general.
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: We don't need you to get no awards. We just
- 1:46:21Speaker 5: need you to protect the quarterback and the running on
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: the battlefield. And that's how people have conditioned them to
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: believe that they're relegated.
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: I think it'll bring more excitement. I think exciting. I
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: think eventually doing it that way will be more.
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: Because I would love to see some of those defensive highlights.
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: I would love to see those, especially linebacker highlights, especially when.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: Those positions are drafted number one overall all the time,
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: all the time.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: The last two three drafts, it's like it's not necessarily
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: a quarterback past rushers and pass bot times.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: Whenquarterback is number one. Just like last year's draft, it
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: was two quarterbacks out of thirty two picks. It was
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: like none defensive linemen got traveled in the first round. Like,
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: so it must be a deeper position that has a
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: lot of quality candidates. Uh, when you talk about three,
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: three of the first four were uh, offensive lineman. Yeah,
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: draft like that. Have any of you seen Shacks Dunk League.
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: He has a new dunk show out of some Dunkers
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: League dunk Man over time.
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: I've heard some people talking about it, but I thought
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: it was I didn't realize it was actual because they
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: were saying dunk better than the Dunk Contest, and I
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: didn't understand what it's.
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: It's a traveling dunk contest basically from what I understand. Oh, okay,
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: and I think it show they've they've been doing it
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: at at overtime elite. Yeah, Downtown Atlanta, and I think
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: it just shows that the interests of dunks are more
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: about who's doing the dunks than it is the dunk itself, Because.
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: If dunks were the star, then we'd already have known
- 1:48:07Speaker 5: about this show.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: We'll be tuning in. But it's more of who is
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: doing the dunk. I can see that creating a league
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: of basically trick dunks, stuff that y'all used to bring them.
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: One and one's created a one basically with Mat mac
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: mcclun was in it. Yeah, Mack was in it.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: We'll be back more The Sports Jock Show right after this.

- 1:49:03Speaker 16: Hey, careful bad there's someone crossing the streets.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't see them there. If you feel different,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: you drive different. Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere.
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: A message from NITZA and the ad Council.
- 1:49:20Speaker 18: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive, all
- 1:49:22Speaker 18: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:49:26Speaker 18: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 1:49:30Speaker 18: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 1:49:34Speaker 14: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 1:49:36Speaker 14: phones and focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:49:41Speaker 19: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:49:44Speaker 19: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project yellow Light and the

- 1:49:50Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 1:49:56Speaker 23: It's time here to school board and we put a
- 1:49:59Speaker 23: spin on light and sports and how they intermingle on
- 1:50:04Speaker 23: the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:16Speaker 10: My bag, do you know what.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: This welc back to this what shock show? I'm this
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: woe shock wing KNDI uh. Athletes are leading the trend
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: of carrying purses, Yo, guys, I guess it's the man bag.
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: Remember the man bag from the seventies and eighties. H Well,
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: guys had the man bag. I guess is that it's
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: the athletes are leading. How about the man bag right? Well, well,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: athletes have changed it.
- 1:50:52Speaker 5: Man bag used to just kind of be like a
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: little crossbody satchel type joint.
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: But now the Lebrons and the others.
- 1:51:01Speaker 5: At the Odale Beckham Juniors have started going with the
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: full carriage bags, which generally traditionally have only been carried
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: by females. And I know because my wife has a
- 1:51:14Speaker 5: bag wall at the house, literally a whole wall of
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: designer bags, and I've been tutored on the styles and
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: all of that, and those bags are the ones that
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: the women carry, so they're leading the It's not a
- 1:51:31Speaker 5: man bag anymore. They call it a man bag because
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: men are carrying it, but these guys are carrying designer purses.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: Zach Holland at a tournament called cheing in golf where
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: he got out on the course early and placed the
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: ball in like the third hole, and then pretended as
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: though he had to go use the restroom to let
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: his his team a group that he was golfing with
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: move on a little bit, then act like he hit
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: the ball and claimed it was a hole in one.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: He won the tournament at the golf course, but later
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: had to confess because they saw him on camera placing
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: the ball in the hole, but he had tried to
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: claim he had a hole in one. That was the problem.
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: Try to claim a hole in one if he claimed
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: an eagle or birdie. Well, he was on a par three,
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: he had already put a ball in the hole. He
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: was supposed to go. It was a three man team.
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: He went last, but he claimed he had to use
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: the restroom.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: So they went on and started walking to the next
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: hole and just thought he was gonna come back and
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: hit the ball. He came back at like he had
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: hit the ball and lost sight of it well to
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: the hole. His friends went over to the hole and
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: found that the ball was in.
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: The hole, and they well, you hit all of the one.
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: And what did he win as the winner of the
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: They didn't have that in the report because at some
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: point that's that's sort of.
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: Ridiculous that when you do when you hit a hole
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: in run, it's the rule you have to buy, regardless
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: of you buying drinks, everything in the ball.
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: Well, and a lot he had to spend a lot
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: of money. Well, and a lot of get a lot
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: of these tournaments.
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: I've noticed that holding ones, even if you don't win
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: the tournament come with some sort of large bonus.
- 1:53:34Speaker 4: Yeah, you get a well cars at the PGA event
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: and the LPGA they have certain holes, have a hold
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: of one you could win a car at least for
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: like two years of BMW or something or whatever.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: That's so that's fraud or cheating, cheating, you know what
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's cheating.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: But when you receive a prize, a monetary prize, as
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: the results of your cheating, that is some sort of
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: fraud or embezzlement or some sort.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: Of theft by deception.
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: That is because you've actually taken something from this conscious
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: college seaton.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: I didn't even get that far though, Jerry he got
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: the car in weeks later, Washington commanders Jade and Daniels
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: sent a season desist order to LSU. That has been
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: big conversation over the last couple of days as well.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: Jaydeon Daniels trying to take exception that LSU this season
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: gave his number five number away to a corner back
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: and he wants them to cease and desist. I didn't
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: see any grounds on his ability to do this. This
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: number is not retired. Jane Daniels did win the Heisman,
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: but LSU has not retired the number. But he felt
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: like they had an unders standing.
- 1:55:01Speaker 4: Yeah, he was he had an understanding, and because they
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: sell the number five, Jersey and it's still because a
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: lot of the fans in the stands war the five
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: because he's won the national champion, I mean, the Heisman.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: Here's the thing that I thought was funny but not, well, yeah,
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: it was funny. Lane Kiffin, who's the new coach now,
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: said the young man was promised by the prior coach
- 1:55:24Speaker 4: that he would get to because the last two years
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: he's wore a different number, but he was promised he
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: was going to get to wear that number. So lank
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: Kiffer said, when you promise the kid something, I think
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: we should go ahead and honor that.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: It made me think, man, he used to do that.
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: That was the funny part to me.
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: He says that the last coach here promised the kid something,
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: so we should honor that.
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: Didn't even have to say all that. We didn't retire
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: the number like there, what was there some kind of
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: contract or agreement in place with Jaydon Daniels about the number. Well,
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: they want, but the prior coach.
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: So from my what I'm thinking is the prior coach
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: apparently because Jaden was his player and he was holding
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: off hopefully this kid would be gone and he will
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: still be there.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: And the kid forget about the promise.
- 1:56:14Speaker 4: So the kid goes to Lane Kip said, hey, prior
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: coach promised me I could wear number five.
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I'm go ahead and give it to you. Well,
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: and I don't know how they got to where they are.
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: I just think that it's quite dubious that Lane Kiffin
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: is the one talking about keeping promises to teams and players.
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it seemed like he could have stayed out
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: of that part of the argument. Well, the number was
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: promised by the prior regime, Lane honoring it. I still
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: don't know what jayden problem is, especially that he needed
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: to take this public. Even if this was something you
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: wanted to work out with LSU, you only own the name.
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: Sometimes you hear these stories and I'm not sure why
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: the colleges don't go back to just no name on
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: the back. Penn State. I didn't have a name on
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: the back of my jersey because I was a senior
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: so before my senior year at Auburn, Auburn did not
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: put names. So when you were walking around with that
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: Bo Jackson and they say Jackson on the back of
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: that thirty four, that's not the jersey that Bo Jackson wore.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: He just wore thirty four. Auburn didn't have names on
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: the back of their jersey. You got a full game
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: kill Terry. Until Terry Bowden came our my senior year.
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: It was his rookie year as a coach, and we
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: convinced him to put our names on the back of
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: the jersey.
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: That's how that and what was the what was the
- 1:57:47Speaker 5: deciding factor in what was your biggest argument, coach? We
- 1:57:52Speaker 5: want the names on the back of the jerseys because.
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: Guys as they always wanted individual recognition. Terry Bowden was
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: from that was his from the Bowden tree. He didn't
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: have that old establishment way. So he allowed us to
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: wear black shoes and he was trying to put his
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: imprint on the program and names on the back of
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: the jersey. Those are the two things he gave us,
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: and we gave him a perfect season.
- 1:58:22Speaker 27: See cooperation. It works, man, it works, and we are
- 1:58:30Speaker 27: in the ocean. The truth is he will throw your
- 1:58:35Speaker 27: in the ocean.
- 1:58:37Speaker 23: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Judge

- 2:00:14Speaker 1: his ex girlfriend. You know, how can you can be

- 2:00:31Speaker 1: Abel and his boys decided to teach her lessons, and
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: his boys his boy had two of his boys decided
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: that they were gonna take the dodgeball and show her
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: a little son. Well law enforcement on charge able with
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: assaw you know, little miss mean no sawt avery. Y'all

- 2:01:07Speaker 3: pictures and you know Abel and his voice.
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: But I guess since Abel was the mastermind Terrian Arnold,
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: they charged him with misdemeanor assault charge. What's his last name? Shipper?
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: C excuse me? Sc h I P P E R.
