Transcript
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to another episode of the Dogs Podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, all your hosts today, happy Monday.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: Hope everybody's week is getting up to up.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Much better start than mine, whatever this blue, crud thing going around is.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: It hit me hard this weekend.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: I had the one year old had it a while ago and then the five year old got it and then my wife got it and I had just kept.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was so nervous because I was like, man, I see my future coming to me here.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'll be lucky and I'll be able to miss this thing.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it did not miss me.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I am dealing with the flu.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: It is horrible.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: But hey, life goes on the week goes on and we've got a mock draft episode to talk about here today because if you guys were paying attention on social media, toward the end of the last week and over the weekend, there has been a lot of talk, a lot of push.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe push isn't necessarily the right word, but a lot of reasonable arguments for why the Browns could and maybe even should consider drafting Ohio State Safety Caleb Downs at six.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if you guys have watched the show, you know me, Blake, Justin, none, none, none, no, do not be doing any defense guys, not in the first round.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, those first four picks
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know, but now people are really starting to hone in on this whole best player available.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: And if you have Caleb Downs as this generational elite level safety prospect that you can plug into your defense from day one.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's, and I understand the arguments for it.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not saying I agree, as you guys know, I'm still very much let's go get some offense first.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I've got another episode coming up later this week.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll be this week, where I went through and I really broke down the Cleveland Browns roster, positioned by position, and I listed out who the players of each position are that are still.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: on the roster still have contracts under contract, who the free agents, the guys who are set to expire this this off season, the exclusive right free agents to practice squad players, all that kind of stuff.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: and from doing that exercise, I have come to the realization that this Cleveland Brown's team desperately needs everything.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's sucks to look at from that sort of perspective.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: But again, we'll get to that episode later this week and I'll bring those names and everything to you guys, but
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's, it's bad at every position, at every position, it's weak, so the Browns literally need to add players everywhere.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll go to safety just for the sake of this argument.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: The only players the Browns have currently under contract at the safety position, grant
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: Those are your safeties under contract for the Cleveland Browns currently in 2026.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: You've got restricted free agent Ronnie Hickman and then you've got free set to become free agents, racian Jenkins and trade avery.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's not crazy to think that the Browns would have a thought of taking a top safety or the top safety in this draft.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: So basically what I want to do here today, I'm going to go through my mock draft and what it would look like if the Browns did take Caleb Downs at pick number six, okay?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: So we're gonna go through the mock draft and then I've got a couple voicemails on the backside of this so stay tuned hang out for that We'll talk about a couple things.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh and of course another message from my biggest fan Vinty is coming up as well
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: after the mock draft.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Before I get into this, make sure you guys go to join the dogs.com.

- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying to do a meet week in there with being sick and stuff.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's just,
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: It is thrown a wrench into the whole schedule here, but we will push on.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: So join the dogs dot com.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, mock draft 4.0, the Caleb Downs at 6 edition on the dogs podcast.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: So of course here at Pick 6.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: we know what we're doing.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns Society know it's screwed.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're taking best player available, taking Caleb Downs, safety out of Ohio State, he's six foot, six feet tall, 205 pounds.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Caleb Downs has received first round premonitions from the general consensus ever since he set foot on Alabama's campus as a five-star recruit.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: An instant producer at the CFB level, Downs was a star for the Crimson Tide Defense in 2023.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then again,
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: and 2025.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: Downs is raw production under welms in comparison to his prestige, but don't let that fool you on film.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's one of the best safety prospects in recent memory and is a blue chip player in the
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: a fluid, explosive, and energized mover at 6 feet 205, downs as a special in the box with his combined mobility, play pace, angle IQ, and physicality on blockers.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's an expert at running Ali's scraping through contact and securing solo tackles, and his instant reaction to stimulus ensures he's always responsive on plays.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: And while his raw production and coverage makes him easy to overlook in space, his coverage game is just as exhilarating.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: Downs is an Uber instinctive cover man who can swiftly process route combinations, manage route relationships, transition with ease, and clamp down on stems from different alignments.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's the consummate and glue guy.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: with a cosmic football IQ and the versatility to play two high single-high in the box as a rover and even as a big nickel and off-man and zone positional value will be discussed with downs.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: But regardless, he has all the hallmarks of a future all-pro who instantly makes a defense better.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: Again, these right-ups are a courtesy of pro football network.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I got to tell you that
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: As I was in Ohio State fan, of course, I've watched every single game that Caleb Downs has played in Columbus.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: He is the real deal.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: He is legit.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: browns decide to go this route.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be mad.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: I can't be mad whenever you add this type of player to a team that's got miles, Garrett, Denzel, Ward, and already Grant, Telpacars, and Swesinger, Mason Graham, these guys, Tyson Campbell, like that, this makes the defense instantly better and it's already one of the better defenses in the league.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: For Caleb Downs, he goes number six here in this mock draft too, the Cleveland Browns.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: So then moving on, how am I going to attack the rest of this mock draft?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: having allocated the first pick, the top pick, pick six overall to a safety on defense, something I really have not been advocating for at all.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: This entire time, okay, so pick 24, then.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: Do I go wide, because now it's like we got to attack the offense, guys.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: Do we go wide receiver?
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: Do we go offensive line?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I got to tell you there is a guy that I have been rising on, that I think could be a really good fit for the Browns, and I think you could instantly plug him in day one at your left tackle position, and it's Monroe Freeling, offensive tackle, left tackle, he did play both.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: out of Georgia 6-foot 6-315 pounds.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: Monroe Freeling declared for the 2026 Edenthal draft as a true, junior, and who assuredly be in the mix for an early round selection at the offensive tackle spot.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: A formerly highly recruited, or I'm sorry, a former, highly touted recruit.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: Freeling towers at almost 6'7, 315 pounds with an overwhelming 84-inch wingspan.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: And he distinguishes himself as an excellent athlete at that size with menacing power capacity.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's extremely quick off the ball, with exceptional overall proportions, a stable center of gravity, and logic to find flexibility and leverage acquisition skills at his size.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: His hand usage, Palette is still fairly basic at this stage he can win more often than not with his sheer athleticism and his reach, but still freely has an incredibly strong foundation of inherent athleticism and soft skills.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's angled sound and disciplined in the run game and in time he can grow to become an impact starter across both phases.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a younger type of offensive tackle, lesser experience.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he only started 16 games in college, but he's, there's no doubt this kid's got the athletic traits that NFL teams are going to salivate over.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: And when the whole draft process started, he was a guy that you were kind of finding in that, early to mid-second round and everything, but he is definitely climbing up draft boards.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think it's crazy to think that he is a first round pick, come April, and here are the Browns take him in the first round at pick 24.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: So moving on, then to pick 39.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: This is where this, you know, a lot of these,
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: players, again, if you guys are new to this, I use mock draft database to look at where players are being mocked, like their aggregate draft position across all the industry mocks.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where I'm getting my numbers from my information to see who should be or could be available within a range of where the Browns pick.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: So at pick 39, this is a guy that I took in my last mock draft, but I took him at 70.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: because he was being mocked on average at pick 65.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: He is now being mocked on average at pick 45, just a week and a half later.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: He has gone up that much.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: Don't be surprised if this guy ends up in the back of the first round.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: By the time it's all said and done, but right here at pick 39, I'm taking once again Omar Cooper Jr. Widersever out of Indiana.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: Six feet 201, he had 69 receptions, 937 yards and 13 touchdowns.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: this year for Indiana.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Omar Cooper Jr.'s one-half of Indiana's dynamic duo at Widersever and like his teammate Elijah Serap.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's entirely possible he's off the board within the top 100 picks in the 2026 NFL draft.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: At six feet 201, Cooper is a dense compact pass catcher with a low center gravity and effortless, explosiveness, and vertical stretch it.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: He can extend seams as a rack threat with his range and contact balance and he has
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: He also flashes great salesmanship and tempo control as a route runner.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: Drops can be an issue on occasion for Cooper, and he has room to keep refining his route tree in the intermediate range, but overall he's a budding three-level threat with a particular affinity for rack accumulation and vertical advances.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: The drops thing I find interesting.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: He only had three drops this past season.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they're pulling that from prior years, which I don't have those numbers readily available.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: But this past year, just three drops, and I think they gave him more 4.2% drop rate.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a 2.55 yards per route run.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's got everything that I'm looking for and a wide receiver and I think that he can come in and be a legit dog for this Brown's offense.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: So then, pick 70.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: I am sticking with offense and I'm going back to my alma mater.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking another Ohio State buck eye.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: At Pick 70, it's Max Clare, the tight end out of Ohio State 6 foot 4, 240 pounds.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: Max Clare took his talents from West Lafayette to Columbus this year, suiting up for the Ohio State Buckeyes after a standout 24 season with the Purdue Boiler Makers.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Took him a few weeks to get a rhythm, but Claire eventually delivered a quality year at Ohio State, catching 43 passes for 448 yards and 2 touchdowns.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: Claire's production naturally inspires confidence and his tape generates further NFL draft excitement.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: At 6 foot 4 240 pounds, Claire is an instinctive receiving threat with the burst, quickness, flexibility, and spatial IQ to separate independently.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: He has smooth body controls a catcher and is an aggressive rack threat who uses overwhelming leg-churn and lower body action to drive through would-be tacklers.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Claire's past-catching profile is extremely appealing in his immediate blocking versatility and utility upside further magnifies that appeal while Claire has room to add on more mass at the NFL level.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's a versatile run-game asset who can block in-line, acquire leverage, drive his legs,
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: and fulfill his assignments with reliability.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Again, watch every snap for Max Claire this year and for Titans, generally in college, you're not looking for this overwhelming production because it just doesn't normally happen.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously we had Harold Fan in junior last year, go absolutely berserk.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: for bowling green, but he's also not a traditional inline blocking type of tight end.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: So he's a little bit different, and that's what the Browns need.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns have got to figure out what they're doing at tight end because again, if we go look at the tight end position, the episode I want to do for you guys later this week, the only tight end, only one tight end.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: We have under contract for 2026, is Harold Fan and Junior, that's it.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have anybody else.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: David and Joke who's a free agent where to know he's not coming back.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: We have reserved future deals then with South Canella and Caden pre-scorn.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: We have a restricted free agent with Blake Whiteheart and exclusive right for agent with Brendan Bates.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: These are not guys that inspire confidence for me, especially with Todd Monk and running a lot of 12 personnel.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: You think about what he had in Baltimore, Mark Andrews and Isaiah Lakeley.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: Isaiah Lakeley is very similar.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: The way he was used, his skill set, what he's good at, what he wins with, that's a lot of what Harold Fanon does.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: But then Mark Andrews is your inline blocking Titan, who they can also go out and catch passes and be a weapon in the passing game.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the Browns need.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: They're losing that with David and Joe, who they've got to get somebody in here to replace that role.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, we get it here at Pick 70 with Max Claire out of Ohio State.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Since 1989, Mount Hope fence has set the standard in outdoor living.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: From decks and railings to fences and paddios, we've got you covered.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: Our lineup features top brands like TimberTech, Aluma Guard, preferred railing, and Unilok.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: Along with our own premium Duralux final products.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: For over 30 years, we've partnered with contractors ensuring reliable job site delivery.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Discover quality and excellence in all things outdoors with Mount Hope fence.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, moving on, pick 107.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of Barry Shucks guys from the senior bull that I'm very high on as well.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I would love to see the Browns at 107 take Austin Barber.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: The offensive tackle out of Florida, six foot seven, three, 18.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Austin Barber is one of the more seasoned 2026 NFL draft offensive line prospects.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Entering the 2025 season, he started 26 games at the CFB level, with reps that both left and right tackle.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's big.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: And he added 12 more starts at left tackle in this final season.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: With his experience, he's adopted a level of comfort and past protection that few ascending offensive tackles can match at 6 foot 5, 3, 4 team with stellar length and proportional mass barber passes the ideal size threshold, and he's an explosive nimble athlete who covers ground
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Both in his stance and win matching, Barbara's flexibility and easy knee bend helps him acquire leverage and he can load and re-exert to maximize force on his punches.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's still learning how to channel full power in the run game as well as how to properly anchor and keep upper lower sink on passing down but he has the eventual starting upside and left right versatility as a swing tackle in the immediate timeline.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: We get ourselves another offensive tackle.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: This one Austin Barber out of Florida Moving on pick one thirty nine.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: We're taking corner back to Cario Davis out of Washington six foot four two hundred pounds To Cario Davis look like a future top 50 pit coming off a standout twenty twenty three campaign that saw him put up 15
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: Davis transferred from Arizona to Washington in the 2025 off season, following former Arizona head coach, Jed Fish and his former teammate, Ephesians, Ephesians, Prysock.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: What a name.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: And a familiar scheme and familiar surroundings, Davis enjoyed a return to prominence, achieving a strong PFS and cornerback impact score of 87.3 while allowing and opposing pass rating of just 52.5 per true media.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: at 6,4, 190 pounds with over 33 inch arms, Davis's size can overwhelm the opposition.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: And at his size, he has excellent burst short area quickness, processing and zone, and press man matching ability.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: As one might expect, Davis does experience slight fluidity and sync limitations with his build.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: And he doesn't quite have a long-speed or vertical range, but nevertheless, in schemes that may recover three-side saddle and press man based on situational factors, Davis stands out as an ideal mid-round target with experience, technical versatility playmaking reach, and a brand-proactivity and a solid dependable run support profile.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: Again, Browns got to do something to corner back.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think to Cario Davis to be a nice addition, you got that big, big body type guy, 6, 4, 200 is a physical tackler.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: That type of corner back would fit well, especially because we don't know what's gonna happen in Martin Emerson.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: He is slated to be a free agent.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: Coming off of his injury, we don't know he'll be back with the Browns will resign him if he'll want to come back.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he'll want to test for agency.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: The only players we have under contract, Denzo Ward, Tyson Campbell, Miles Harden, and Dom Jones.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's your cornerback group right now.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: So the Browns are going to need to be looking to add at cornerback whether it's in free agency or in the draft.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: So here we take to Cario Davis out of Washington.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: Two picks left, pick 144 is going to be lander Barton, the linebacker out of Utah.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Lander Barton, 64, 233, he returned for his senior season at Utah as a big linebacker without standing size, range, and versatility that make him projectable across multiple defensive schemes.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: Renowned as a sure tackler and highly effective run defender Barton's intelligence and athleticism enable him to handle various roles, including coverage responsibilities even if he has some limitations in man coverage and moving backward.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: While his excellent size movement skills and technique point to an every down NFL potential, finding more consistent ways to defeat blocks will be key for him to take that next step.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: With refinement, Barton profiles as a scheme diverse reliable starter in the pros.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think Leander Barton would be a nice addition to our linebacker room.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: A nice player to have alongside Carson Swesinger and whoever else we bring into this room because again,
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: Just give you guys all the previews for these positional breakdowns.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: Our linebacker room currently is Carson Swesinger and Easton Masquerina Sarnold and F1 Yulofoshio and Boogie Watson coming off IR.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's your linebacker group.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: J.O.K.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: is on the pop.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody else is slated to be free agents.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: Browns got to do something at linebacker as well.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: We cannot solely focus only on offensive positions because again, like I'll show you guys later in the week that the defense is hurting too.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: It really is at a lot of these spots.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of offense, we move into pick 147 and we're going to take Eric McAllister, a wide receiver at a TCU.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: I really like Eric McAllister.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's a guy that I've been doing a lot more study on here recently and I'm growing a lot higher on McAllister now.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go through a lot of stuff here, but I need you guys to understand.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: He is a receiver who could have
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: been trying to think how I best I want to say this, could have been in first round conversations, maybe early to mid-second round conversations, had he not had some off-field legal situations.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: But here we go.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about this.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: 6-foot-3, 205 Eric McAllister had 72 receptions, 1,190 yards and 10 touchdowns, and 2025.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: He won, or he was named 13 all-American.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: first team all big 12 and he was a finalist for the Bolitna Coffee Ward, which goes to the best receiver in the country, Mackay Lemon ended up winning that.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's a big, strong receiver who can get vertical on a hurry.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: He has legit long speed.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: his ball tracking is incredible.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Great adjustment to throws.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: Great hands.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Physical runner after the catch.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: He'll break tackles and then just keep going.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's a throw it up to him.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let him go get it kind of receiver.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a great feel for the soft spots in zone coverage.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: knows how to get open for his quarterback.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: So again, that all sounds amazing.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: This sounds like a great prospect.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: Why are we getting him in the fifth round?
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: I already mentioned it's because of his
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: had an altercation, I believe it was at a water burger restaurant in Texas where I don't know all the specifics I haven't gone that far into yet, but he had an altercation with another guy and he pulled a gun on him.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: And so he got hit with a felon gun charge and what was it like threat with a deadly weapon something like that.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: I forget.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: So then he was put on two years probation and I want to was all said and done or whatever.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then he ended up he got nailed for her failed a drug test for marijuana a few months later.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: It was just kind of a bad situation for the kid, and it was one of those moments for some athletes where it's like, this is probably the end.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you're probably not coming back from it.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: You've made some mistakes.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to go get some help and the whole football career you're going to have to just put this thing on hold.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: He did not.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: Eric McAllister did not.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: He actually, I found some quotes from him and some teammates and coaches said that he really took his off-field incidents to heart and was determined to learn from them to put them behind him.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: He went on to have this belitton, a cough finalist season in 2025 set all sorts of records for TCU, wide receivers, like receiving records.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a ton of them now.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: and they were going into their bowl game at the end of the season and they're starting quarterback decided to enter the transfer portal.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: So he was gone.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: He was gone before they played their bowl game and everybody kind of assumed that Eric McAllish who had this incredible 20-25 season was definitely going to be going to the the combine and all the scouting things and going to be drafted into the NFL.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: They thought, well, he's not going to play in this bowl game.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's meaningless.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: hurting himself or something for the NFL.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: And instead, he actually got up in front of the entire TCU team and through his support behind their backup quarterback, a kid I don't think had ever played before.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: And said, I'm coming out here.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: I got his back.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: We've all got his back.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: whatever, like we're playing this game.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: And so he rallied the troops behind this quarter back, this back up, and they went out in the bowl game and they actually beat USC 30 to 27.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: So people, the coaches and teammates are pointing to that is like, look at his leadership, look at what he's done, and there was a lot of other examples, but I'm not going to dive into that stuff right now, because I want this to be brief.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: I've already talked about it longer than I need to, but
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: In the fifth round, again, I, with legal stuff, you gotta take it on a case-by-case basis.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, it was Isaiah Bond, it fell all the way out of the entire draft, but his stuff was actually pending, and it was ongoing during the draft process, never think so, nobody drafted him.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: What happened with McAllister is already done, like it's behind him.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, in the fifth round, the talent,
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's worth investing in because I get I'm not saying he's going to be the same type of player, but I do get some Josh Gordon vibeage from this kid, the size, the speed, the hands, just the way he's physical, I don't know, and we know that Josh Gordon had some legal stuff going on and he had reasons why he fell to the supplemental draft and all that.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: We'll just leave it there, but here I think it would be really great for the Browns at Pick 147 to get Eric McAllister, the Wider Sever, out of TCU.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: So that wraps up mock draft, 4.0 again.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm only doing Browns one through five for the Browns.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going into those six round picks for the Browns yet because again, I don't think we'll probably have them.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: And if we do, we'll talk about it later, but right now, and the thing is I see a lot of these mock drafts that people post online where the Browns are drafting 14, 15, 16 people, everybody's training back and collecting picks and look at this draft, I put together.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're not drafting 16 guys, guys, okay, that would be insane.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: We've already got, we have, I think, 14 rookies playing on this roster last season.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: They're not going to add 16 of them and have over half the roster be rookies or second your players.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's just insane.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, and a lot of those players are forced to put it around six round picks.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's, you're not going to do that.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, we're going to stick to these first eight picks for the Browns for the time being when I do these mock drafts.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: Pick one, or I'm sorry, going back to the beginning just to recap, pick six Caleb Downs, the safety out of Ohio State, pick 24 Munro Freeling Offensive Tackle out at Georgia, pick 39 is Omar Cooper, Jr. the Wider Seaver out at Indiana, pick 70 max Claire the tight end out of Ohio State, pick 107 is Austin Barber Offensive Tackle out of Florida, and
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Pick 139 is to Cario Davis corner back out of Washington and pick 144 is lander Barton, the linebacker out of Utah, and we end with Pick 147, Eric McAllister, the widersiever out of TCU.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: So let me know what you guys think about this mock draft.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: If the Browns were to, you know, go Caleb down's at six, like a lot of people are talking about right now.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: Would this mock draft the results of this type of thing?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_02]: be more encouraging.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: Would you be happier that we went a defensive player, the top defensive player at pick six or do you still just want to bypass that altogether?
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: Stick with wider severs and offensive line in that first round and let the defensive players come later on in the draft.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you guys think.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to take a quick break and on the other side, voice males and venti.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is partnered with Kaoshi.

- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: With Kaoshi the objective is either yes or no.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: Will Shidorah Sanders be the Browns week one starting quarterback?
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Will the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl?

- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: All right, guys, thank you for bearing with me today.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it sounds like it in the recording.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: How it's coming through, my voice feels so, or to me, it just sounds so nasally and just gunky.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like absolute trash right now.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys can't tell, if you can see my face at all, it probably looks red and sweaty, because I just can't, I'm sick.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sick, and it sucks.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sick, and I'm sick, and I'm sick.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: it is what it is.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get over it and I'll be better and I just appreciate you guys tuning in and still listening to this stuff.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: So the first voice mail here is from one of our great dog pack members.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: This is from Thrilla from Canada.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_04]: Just listen to your last episode who will be the next DC in regards to the draft if Carnell Tate is on the board and Andrew Barry takes an offensive tackle.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_04]: I will lose my fucking mind and the reason more that is we don't have a WR1 we need a wire receiver one those guys they don't you can't find them in free agency which means they're gonna have to trade and
- 30:39[SPEAKER_04]: and why not take a wide receiver at 6 and then look for that OT later in the draft or free agency where you can find them and those guys you can get somebody in that can replace the bunch of tackles that are going to be not on our team anymore and have and kind of work the offensive line that way but my god if we miss out on carnell tape because Andrew
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: All is it, I will be so pissed.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_04]: Love you guys, keep doing what you're doing.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Thrilla, I don't disagree with you at all, buddy.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: I want Cardinal Tates so bad.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm doing a mock draft, that's like, this is my mock draft, this is what I want it to be.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's Cardinal Tates at six, okay?
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: The drafts that I see people posting online, if they got Cardinal Tates at six, I'm interested.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: If it's not, I'm like, yeah, well, let me see what I'll, did you do in that draft?
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: But Cardinal Tates, I really do think
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: a legitimate wide receiver one in the NFL.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's he's got it.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be a dog and I want him to be on the Browns.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm with you, Thrilla, if he's on the board.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: And that's a big if honestly because you got teams ahead of us in the top five that do need wide receivers with the Titans take him to get Cam Ward.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: A legitimate wide receiver one in Tennessee.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but it would be really nice if he's on the board
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: If he's on the board and the Browns don't take him, well, you guys will be tuned in.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure when we're doing our live, draft night, show on YouTube, and you'll see how we react if the Browns decide to just completely pass on Carnell Tate.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: That would not be great at all.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Next, voicemail here is from, it's like we got one here from Liam.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_05]: What's going on guys is Liam calling in from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_05]: I just started listening to the pod.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_05]: I love it so far.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a huge, huge, huge brown sand.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_05]: And I never really have anyone to talk about with the Brown.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_05]: So it's cool I get to call him with you guys.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_05]: But what I came in here to say is that I recently saw a mock draft that had the Browns taking David Bailey, the adressor for my think, Texas Tech at number six overall.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_05]: If the Browns take a deep end of Lyman at take number six, I am throwing the remote through the TV draft night.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_05]: I do not care.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_05]: That would be the stupidest thing ever in my opinion.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_05]: I need a receiver.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_05]: I'm listening to your episode today where you're talking about the history of Ohio State receivers and how good they are.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm just, you enter so right over that.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_05]: Like,
- 33:25[SPEAKER_05]: It's carol pay is there.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_05]: I think the Brown just need to take him.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_05]: They can not be a defense player.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_05]: I need no rest thoughts on taking a defense player.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_05]: Potentially a pick member state.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_05]: Sure that'd be another out of state back out in Caleb Downs or a defense alignment.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_05]: But let me know your guys thoughts.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_05]: I'm loving the plots over.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Early in, well, thank you.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: I love all the Canadian listeners out there.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: You get the Browns fans are just everywhere.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_02]: I love how...
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: anywhere you go in the world, you can find diehard Browns fans.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: And to kind of go to this, Liam, I mean, this whole episode was a mock draft based on if the Browns did go Caleb Downs at six.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: I saw that mock draft too.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think was Mike Miller did the David Bailey to the Browns at six.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't love it.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's a good player.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't done enough deep dive research on David Bailey.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, again, I'm not advocating for defense at six.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: But if you go and you look at the Brown's current roster status at the defensive end position, you've got Miles Garrett, you've got Alex Wright, you've got Isaiah McGuire, and that is it.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the only three players on our roster under contract currently at the defensive end position.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: Our defensive line, I'm telling you guys, when I go through this episode later in the week, you'll see, we need help every freaking wear on this team.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm with William, the place we need help the most in my opinion, other than offensive line is obviously wide receiver.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Cardinal Tate, Cardinal Tate has been and will continue to be my ideal pick.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: At number six, if he is available, we'll see when draft night rules around, things are going to get real interesting.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_03]: Alright, and the last voicemail I'm going to get to the day because my voice is starting to fail me It's going to be from our buddy Gabriel Logan, dog's podcast Uh, I did not mean to say local bugger fan in my previous voicemail since I've not from Ohio I'm from Missouri Uh, nothing going to talk about was when your thoughts on our upcoming matchup we will have an exseason where the grounds will be behind the bugger ears I'm intrigued by it just to see how better they feel placed and I haven't challenged for a bad money maker if he's listening
- 35:43[UNKNOWN]: Brad, here's my challenge.
- 35:45[UNKNOWN]: Loser has to serenade the winner in the discord with the song written about their team.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: If I have my team wins, you have to give me a different song, but if you win, it's the round to win the final half of the league, making rounds of serenade some.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_03]: So Brad, that's my challenge if you're choosing seven or not.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_03]: In any way, go around and go to the podcast.
- 36:08[UNKNOWN]: Whoo!
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: So he's got a song competition, a song battle bet going on in the discord.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are hilarious.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm sure Brad is listening.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: If not, I will make sure I tag him in discord later after this comes out.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll say, hey, go listen to Gabriel's voicemail.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a challenge for you.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry, he'll be in touch.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: Brad never backs down from a challenge and he definitely not a singing challenge.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's for sure.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: As far as the the buck and years game goes in 26, one,
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's in Tampa Bay.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not going to be quite as crazy as if it were in Cleveland with Baker may feel coming back into Cleveland.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be way more interesting of a matchup, but still nevertheless going there, planning against them.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's hard for me to pick the Browns right now in any game, really, it without knowing what we're doing, who are core, but we don't know who our defensive coordinator is as of me recording this.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: We still haven't freaking hired anybody like, I don't know.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: We got a lot of work to do this offseason to build things up and get ready for Todd Monkins first years.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: I had coach in the NFL.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how it goes.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I am excited.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not one of those people that hates Baker may feel or is glad he's not here or anything.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: I always like Baker.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: And while I understood the reason to move on from him at the time, they did it.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_02]: doesn't mean I don't enjoy flipping on the game on Sundays and seeing Baker out there or Tampa Bay ball on out.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's it's good stuff.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see how that goes.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he'll be very amped up to beat us.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: Although when the first time the Browns played against him after he left Cleveland when he was in Carolina, we beat them.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, I feel horrible.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like crap.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: I feel so bad and now I still have to go in here and read this message from Vinti.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: But I can do it, I can power through so.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: Vinti says, taking Ruben Bane at six is a perfect example of the unthought out brain fart of an idea I've come to expect from you.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, Vinti.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to tell you right now, I don't even need to, I haven't read the rest of this message yet guys, so I'm just going to stop already and address this.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: If Ruben Bane Jr. is on the board at six, don't think for a second that the Browns aren't going to be having conversations.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, he's a legit player.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's one of your top prospects in this draft class.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: There will be a conversation around that.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: Vinti goes on says other than a generational talent, which I don't think anyone is calling Bain a generational talent.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: A defensive player at six would be a horrible move, I'm sure you love this episode.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: With the possible, oh, with the possible exception of downs.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, we're over there.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: I might be able to be talked into taking down to six of both Tate and Lemon were gone, but that is only because I am not completely sold on any of these old linemen being worth a top 10 pick yet.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of there with you, Vinti.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: I like Maui Goa.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: and I mean, I like Spencer Fano, but I keep saying is the gap between them and the next tier of tackles, the Monroe Freeling that I took at 24, which I really like Monroe Freeling.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: I would rather get Cardinal Tate or Mokai Lemon at 6, then mess around with, you know, like concepts the owner Boston later, like I'd feel better taking the tackle later, but
- 39:39[SPEAKER_02]: that's just me but anyway so venti goes on says uh... plus how much fun would be to see downs join ward canble and help it in our secondary sort of set yeah if there isn't an offensive player that they like it six which i think will be highly unlikely
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: trading back and acquiring more draft capitals by far the best option, picking up a first round pick for next year in case you door falls on a space this year, or even picking up a second round pick for this year would be much better than going defense at six.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now that in joke, who's officially gone tight end is a major need as well, even if we sign a tight end in free agency, we will still need to draft a tight end to pair with fan and wow, Vinty, look
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: We are green on stuff, that's why it took Max Claire in this mock draft.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: If we trade back and pick up an extra second round pick, we could address wide receiver, O-line, and tight end, all in the first three rounds.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Vinti, not such a bad email from Vinti here today, we're actually agreeing on something, we're actually seeing things I'd eye.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think that you're underselling how good of a prospect Rubin Bane is.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: But again, I was just using that as an example of what the Browns could possibly be considering and talking about at that pick six.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm with you.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: I am with everybody else who left voicemails a day, thriller and everybody.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: get me car and L. T. And if you can't get T, I really, really, really like my Kylaman.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do it.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Let's finally get a wider silver one on this Cleveland Browns team.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I think I got enough voice left here.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: I got one more message from the website.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: This one is from Benji.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: He says what's up dogs?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: I would call in, but I don't like the way I sound.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_02]: So here I go typing this out.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the way I sound today.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: You either, Benji.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I feel like crap.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: But Benji says I just got done listening to the wide receiver in the mock draft episodes, and I want to take it six if he's available, and I hope he is.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: But then I would want an offensive line in with our second first round pick.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever pick that is, I can't remember it's 24.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: It just picked 24.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a who's your fan, okay?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: Benji's a Hoosier fan watching almost all the IU games this year.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: I want Omar Cooper Jr in all caps me to Benji.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: I do too.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's why I drafted him today and in the last one I love Omar Cooper Jr.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: He says I don't care where we get him.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just won him.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a wider secret.
