- 0:04All right, so one time Jesus was out in the desert, far away from
- 0:08his body room. What was he doing out so far
- 0:11from home? Well, he was praying, you know,
- 0:14and then guess who comes along trying to distract him when he's
- 0:17praying? His kids.
- 0:18No, Jesus, don't have no kids. His friends.
- 0:22No, Jesus don't have, OK? No, he has friends, but I guess
- 0:27it wasn't them that distracted him.
- 0:29OK. Oh, I know the TV.
- 0:33What? How can ATV come walking up to
- 0:35Jesus in the desert, man? Oh yeah.
- 0:38Well, who? Was it?
- 0:40Satan. Yeah.
- 0:42So Satan says to Jesus, hey, why don't you do some bad things,
- 0:47Jesus? What kind of bad things?
- 0:49You know, like jump off a Cliff. Oh, that's bad.
- 0:54Worship the devil. Oh, that's really bad.
- 0:57Oh, and turn a rock into bread. Is that bad?
- 1:01I guess so. I mean, I personally would have
- 1:04turned it into a tortilla anyway.
- 1:06Jesus knew that Satan wanted him to disobey God's word.
- 1:09So Jesus said no way, Jose. That's just like the devil.
- 1:14He always tries to get us to do bad things.
- 1:16Too. But Jesus had a sword.
- 1:19He stabbed the devil every time he messed with him.
- 1:22Jesus had a sword. I I've never heard that before.
- 1:26Oh yeah, it wasn't a cheap sword like you get from the Dollar
- 1:29General. It was a sword of the spirit
- 1:32man. Sword of the Spirit, that's not
- 1:36a real sword. Oh yes, it is.
- 1:39No, it's not. The Bible calls speaking the
- 1:42word of. God, the sword of the Spirit.
- 1:45So Jesus stabbed the devil with his words.
- 1:49Yeah. Man, he must have a sharp
- 1:52tongue. Anyway.
- 1:55It takes self-control to say no. To the devil.
- 1:58That's the word for today. Paco.
- 2:00Do you know what self-control is?
- 2:02Oh yeah, what time? My homie at night we were
- 2:04throwing a football and threw a tire that was hanging from a
- 2:08tree. My homie first time, right
- 2:10through the tire, man. So now it's my turn.
- 2:13I don't know what happened when when I threw that ball, it's
- 2:16some old dog sleeping in his yard.
- 2:18And my homie starts laughing at me.
- 2:20So I says to him. I says hey bro give me a second
- 2:23troll. It's self-control.
- 2:26It's doing what God wants instead of doing something bad.
- 2:29Like throwing the ball crooked and hitting that old dog dog
- 2:32man, that was bad. No self-control is acting like.
- 2:36Jesus would act. You know, like obeying your
- 2:38parents, being kind to others. Throwing the ball straight.
- 2:43Never mind, Proverbs 2911 says a wise man has self-control and
- 2:49holds back anger, which is what I'm doing now.
- 2:54Hey, you are a wise guy. OK, so one day Jesus is teaching
- 3:06all the people. All the people.
- 3:08OK, well, a lot of people. How many is a lot?
- 3:12I don't know, maybe 100 or 1000. I don't know.
- 3:17Don't bug me. Anyway.
- 3:18There is so many people. Jesus is like, I got to get out
- 3:21of here. What?
- 3:23So he says to Pedro. He says Pedro.
- 3:25Do you mean? Peter see Pedro anyway, so he
- 3:29says, Pedro, give me a ride in your boat, huh?
- 3:32And so Pedro takes Jesus out in his boat.
- 3:34And then Jesus starts teaching all the people, a lot of people,
- 3:37maybe 100 or 1000. And then they could all hear
- 3:42what Jesus was saying a lot better since he was on the boat.
- 3:46Why? You don't know water makes what
- 3:49you say louder, man. It does.
- 3:52To know this, you're a fish. All I can hear when I'm in the
- 3:56water is blub, blub, blub. Well, yeah, that's because
- 3:59you're under the water. But if you're on top of the
- 4:02water, we can hear you loud and clear.
- 4:04I say do. You want to tell him how Jesus
- 4:07knew to do that? Man, I don't know.
- 4:09Maybe because he's Jesus, he knows everything.
- 4:13Anyways, so when Jesus is done teaching, he tells Pedro to go
- 4:19fishing. Oh no fishing?
- 4:21Why fishing? Because that's his job.
- 4:23Pedro is a fisherman. Is this going to bother you?
- 4:27Maybe you should leave for a minute while I finish the story,
- 4:30man. Why?
- 4:31You're a fish. Yeah, maybe I should.
- 4:35I'll just go swim around for a minute.
- 4:38All right, so then Pedro goes fishing, even though he was
- 4:41already fishing earlier and didn't catch nothing man.
- 4:44But now he catches so many fish in his boat it almost sinks.
- 4:50OK, fish, you can come back now. Did you finish your story?
- 4:55Yeah. Let's just say Pedro was glad he
- 4:57listened to Jesus. All right, man.
- 4:59That's because Jesus makes us wise.
- 5:02In fact, the word for today is wise.
- 5:04All the people wanted to be wise, you know, spend time with
- 5:08Jesus. That's why they listened to
- 5:10Jesus teaching. Hebrews 11/6 says God rewards
- 5:14those who seek him. Peter sure got rewarded, but I
- 5:18can't tell you how. Peter was wise.
- 5:20Let's just leave it at that. I remember when I was little, I
- 5:24had a bunch of wise. My dad would teach me about how
- 5:27to do stuff. He would say, Paco, you have to
- 5:29do it like this. And I would say, why is that?
- 5:32And sometimes my mom would say, bacco, you're doing it wrong.
- 5:35You're supposed to do it like this.
- 5:37And I would say, why is that? See, I had a bunch of wise.
- 5:41Well, that's not exactly right. Why is that?
- 5:47'Cause you're asking why that's not the same as being wise.
- 5:51Being wise is seeking God. You know when you listen to
- 5:54Jesus in his Word. Why is that?
- 5:58Never mind. OK man, so get a load of this.
- 6:06God sends Jesus to the earth to save us from being punished for
- 6:10all the bad things that we were doing.
- 6:11And Jesus goes around telling people about how good God is and
- 6:15that he loves them, and he touches all the sick people and
- 6:18they get healed. Wait, he touched all the sick
- 6:22people in the whole world? What are you man crazy?
- 6:26He can't touch everyone in the whole world.
- 6:28That would take like for forever.
- 6:31So he just touched all the sick people that were there with him.
- 6:36Well, OK, if you say so. It sounds good to me.
- 6:38Don't you know your story? Of course I know my story and I
- 6:42would finish telling my story if you would let me finish telling
- 6:45my story, man. OK, sorry.
- 6:48All right, so Jesus, he knows he can't touch everybody in the
- 6:50whole world. So he tells his friends, hey you
- 6:53go tell people about God, how good he is, and you touch the
- 6:57sick people and just tell him I sent you and they will get
- 6:59healed and stuff. So they just did what they saw
- 7:02Jesus do. Yeah, you're pretty smart for a
- 7:05fish, man. Thanks.
- 7:07So the people that saw Jesus friends teaching about God and
- 7:10touching the sick people so they could be healed, they started
- 7:13calling Jesus friends Little Christ because they acted just
- 7:17like Jesus. That's what the word Christian
- 7:20means, Little Christ. And we are supposed to act like
- 7:24Jesus today, man. The word for today is kindness.
- 7:29God wants us to be kind to others by sharing God's love
- 7:33with them. Everybody always tells me I got
- 7:36a lot of kindness. My abuelita used to get mad at
- 7:40me for having too much kindness. Your grandma would get mad at
- 7:44you. Yeah, she would ask me, Miko,
- 7:46tell me your favorite cake so I can build you one for your
- 7:49birthday. And I would say, I don't know,
- 7:50Abuelita. I kind of like chocolate cake
- 7:53and I kind of like strawberry cake, and I kind of like lemon
- 7:56cake and I kind of like carrot. Cake.
- 7:58No, no, no, no, no. Not kindness.
- 8:01Kindness. God wants us as Christians to do
- 8:05good to those around us who are. Hurting and need help.
- 8:09Ephesians 432 says be kind to one another.
- 8:13And I kind of like spice cake and I kind of like apple cake
- 8:18and I kind of like banana cake. Would you quit with all the
- 8:22cakes? You are getting mad just like my
- 8:26abuelita. You should try to be kind like
- 8:29Jesus. I need some water.
- 8:36OK so one time there was his homie and his legs were broke
- 8:39man. He was crippled.
- 8:41Crippled. What does that mean?
- 8:45His. Legs, they didn't work.
- 8:47You know he couldn't walk. They were broke.
- 8:50Well, the bones weren't broke, the legs just didn't work.
- 8:54That's broke, man. Never mind.
- 8:57So the homies posse like they carry him to go see Jesus at
- 9:00this house where he was having a Bible study man.
- 9:03Actually, the Bible, never mind. So when they get to the house,
- 9:08it's like my abuelitas gorditas. What?
- 9:11It's all stuffed in there. There's no room, so instead of
- 9:16turning around and going home like most people do, they
- 9:19climbed up on the roof, tore off the tiles, and lowered him
- 9:23through the hole they just made right down in front of Jesus.
- 9:28We don't recommend that. So Jesus he says hey homie your
- 9:31sins are forgiven man now by a condos which means the scram.
- 9:36No, he said. Get up and.
- 9:37Walk or get out, the same thing man.
- 9:40Get out. Sounds like Jesus was mean to
- 9:43him. Jesus is good.
- 9:45Are you sure sure he wasn't just trying to get the homie out
- 9:48because it was too crowded? It was in the middle of his
- 9:50sermon and all that. Jesus came to show the world
- 9:53that God is good. The word for today is good.
- 9:57Yeah, like it would be good if you get out because it's too
- 10:00crowded in here, man, No. He was crippled.
- 10:03His legs were. Broke OK.
- 10:05They were broke and now they were fixed.
- 10:08Fixed. You mean healed?
- 10:11Yes, and the people there were praising God because Jesus did
- 10:15another good. Thing like make the room less
- 10:18crowded by telling homie to scram.
- 10:21He was always doing good things, and he wants us to do good
- 10:25things. Matthew 516 says Let your good
- 10:29deeds shine out for all to see. Oh I get it now.
- 10:35Now buy a condos. What?
- 10:37Get out por favor, I said. Por favor.
- 10:42That means please. That's good, right?
- 10:45I'm being good for once. So this blind dude is sitting
- 10:55one day, you know, just being blind.
- 10:57And the disciples say to Jesus, Hey Jesus, how come he was born
- 11:01blind? He was.
- 11:02Born blind. Yeah, that's what I said.
- 11:05So the disciples asked Jesus, did this blind dude do something
- 11:08wrong when he was a baby and so God made him blind to punish
- 11:11him? Or did his parents do something
- 11:14wrong so God made him blind to punish his parents?
- 11:17But. God doesn't do that.
- 11:19I know that and you know that, but the disciples didn't know
- 11:23that, so Jesus tells them. He says neither.
- 11:26Neither. Yeah, that's what he said.
- 11:29Ohh God wasn't punishing the man.
- 11:31Or his parents. Because God didn't make the man
- 11:34blind. Yeah, neither can I finish now.
- 11:38Sure, go ahead. So then Jesus says, if you want
- 11:41to see what God can do, then watch what I do.
- 11:45So he spit on the ground. What Jesus spit on the ground?
- 11:49So God spits. On the ground.
- 11:52I don't know. Maybe when it rains God is
- 11:54spitting. I don't know.
- 11:55Just let me finish. Oh, there's more.
- 11:57There's more if you let me finish.
- 12:00Sorry. So Jesus spits on the ground and
- 12:02makes mud, and he rubs it on the blind man's eyes.
- 12:06That doesn't sound very nice. I know.
- 12:09And then Jesus tells a man to go wash it off in the swimming
- 12:12pool. The swimming pool.
- 12:14Yeah, I guess it was his friend's pool, some guy named
- 12:16Siloam. So the blind dude washes the mud
- 12:19off and then he can see. Because God is faithful.
- 12:23What? That's the word for the day.
- 12:25Faithful. God is the one that heals us.
- 12:28It's the devil that makes us sick.
- 12:31John 1010 says Jesus came to give us a good life and then it.
- 12:35Says the devil is the one who steals, kills and destroys.
- 12:39God is always good, the devil is always bad.
- 12:43So God is always the same. That's right, the Bible also
- 12:47says. That Jesus.
- 12:48Is the same. Yesterday, today, and forever.
- 12:52He's faithful. God never changes.
- 12:55I guess I'm not faithful. Why do you say that?
- 12:57My mom won't let me be faithful. What?
- 13:00Yeah, my mom is always saying, Baco change your shirt, Baco
- 13:04change your socks. Baco, change your charness.
- 13:07That's not the same thing. Exactly.
- 13:10It's not the same. It's not faithful.
- 13:14Hey, fish, where'd you go? You were here and now you're
- 13:18gone. That's not the same.
- 13:21That's not faithful.
