In September 2018, I reported the man who sexually abused me when I was 8 years old. The police investigation ended in no further action, and for years I accepted that as the outcome.
But after speaking to others who successfully prosecuted their cases, and after developing training sessions for the police themselves, I started spotting holes in how my own case was handled.
