- 0:00Which is the beginning of the book.
- 0:02We have the 1st chapter again. And like I said a few times,
- 0:06this is something that people learn over and over and over
- 0:09again. And the rabbi, his introduction
- 0:11even says that a person is not meant to read learn this book
- 0:14one time. He meant to learn it many times.
- 0:17Because technically speaking, although he's giving us a book
- 0:21and steps all the way up to the walk of Koders and follow the
- 0:24steps, he is telling you that it's basics, everything in this
- 0:28books. On the one hand, there's nothing
- 0:30you learn in this step. And you say, wow, that's wild.
- 0:33Instead of step by step, that makes sense, that makes sense,
- 0:37that's clarity, that's hopeful, that's going to develop me.
- 0:41And then over time and over the whole thing, you end up becoming
- 0:44a different person. So he starts with a frame of
- 0:47mind in a developing journey staff.
- 0:50And that is what's my job in this world?
- 0:54What's my purpose on this earth? Why am I here?
- 0:58Who says there has to be a why? Well, God made the world and God
- 1:01made you, and God put, you know, plotting to you.
- 1:05There's got to be a why. And he's, you know, he's
- 1:07definitely creating the whole world around you and he's
- 1:11creating your whole world for your sake.
- 1:13And so many things happened that are dependent and are based on
- 1:16you. There has to be a why.
- 1:18So once you know that there's a why, now you need to try to
- 1:22figure out what is that why. First you need to trust, even
- 1:26before this line, you need to trust that there is a why.
- 1:28There's a reason in my existence.
- 1:30You know, people, you know, you always say that sad line,
- 1:32someone says, I don't know why I'm here.
- 1:33I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what my purpose is.
- 1:36That's a very sad statement. But it's not only, you know, as
- 1:38as simple as it sounds like they just don't know their purpose.
- 1:41It takes away their entire entire compass of life because
- 1:45the main compass of life is you need to know the why.
- 1:49You know that there is a why there was a purpose for me to be
- 1:52here. I didn't even know what that
- 1:53purpose is. I want you to know that purpose.
- 1:56You focus, you zone in on it and you attack it.
- 1:59Now you're saying to yourself, I don't know my purpose.
- 2:02Who knows my purpose? So there's a general Jewish
- 2:04purpose every person has. You saw that has to do it.
- 2:07The shortage of the foundation of development and the root of
- 2:13serving Hashemi the proper service who she but it it
- 2:18requires clarity. You can't be any doubt about
- 2:20this Viet Ahmed and it requires a person verifying, being really
- 2:26confident. It's a lot of time, Marco Bato
- 2:30Bolamo. You need to know your job, your
- 2:33obligation, your purpose in this world, Ulama Zarif.
- 2:37And therefore, where do you need to put your most emphasis?
- 2:40Llama Zarif she has seen with Mabato, Where do you need to put
- 2:44your focus, direct the outlook or Maga Mato.
- 2:47Maga Mato and his ambition but Horseshoe a male Koi Mekhayev
- 2:52all the a male. A male means new toil a male.
- 2:57It's hard work. Your life is full of hard work,
- 3:00right? Every one of our lives, whether
- 3:02we like it or not and whether we think we are or not, there's
- 3:04always some degree of hard work. It might be hard working
- 3:06business, hard working family, hard work relationships, hard
- 3:10work with all mental self doesn't make a difference.
- 3:12There's something there that you're going to work fast.
- 3:15And now there are, technically speaking, in your day.
- 3:19There are many, many things that can require your toilet, your
- 3:22hard work. And you need to know first what
- 3:25your purpose is in this earth, in this world, and then you'll
- 3:29know where do I focus? Where do I place my hard work?
- 3:32Which means I can be spending a lot of time.
- 3:34I say it's completely relevant. If I'm going to put my hard work
- 3:37into everything, I'm going to call a rake, right?
- 3:41If I put my hard work into every aspect of my life, I will not be
- 3:43able to function. I need to choose which parts I
- 3:47care about, which parts I don't, and the parts that I don't care
- 3:51about are the parts that are completely irrelevant to my
- 3:56purpose in this earth. So I have a lot of different
- 3:59avenues I can spend time on, a lot of different things I could
- 4:02be busy with right now. Most of us, we already got past
- 4:06spending time on nonsense, spending time on, you know,
- 4:10something that's completely relevant or focus on the
- 4:12business, supporting our family, running our family, running our
- 4:18marriage, raising our children. These are the basics.
- 4:20That's because you already got passes.
- 4:22But there are people who spend a lot of time on useless things.
- 4:24I'll give you an example if there's a clear example.
- 4:27Let's say someone comes up with a hobby and that hobby is, I
- 4:30don't know, tennis, pick up or whatever it is.
- 4:34OK, it's fun. I don't play tennis.
- 4:36That's great. Let's say the person becomes a
- 4:38little obsessed with tennis. They become very into it and
- 4:41they decide that that's my thing.
- 4:44That's also fine. You can be into tennis and have
- 4:46you think you can have a hobby, but let's say now they go to the
- 4:51gym and they spend time and they spend extra time on the court
- 4:56and now they get very tense in the match.
- 4:59They're very ambitious. They want to be the best in the
- 5:01family. They want to be the best in the
- 5:02in that crew. They want to be the best in the
- 5:04community. All right, now what just
- 5:06happened to happen is the guy took man's purpose.
- 5:12I'm a loot. I shifted it.
- 5:15There's something that's irrelevant, something that is
- 5:18definitely not our wife. All right?
- 5:21That's if someone wants to be. I don't know if they want to
- 5:23have a nice house, that's great. They have a nice house,
- 5:25beautiful. But then they got into it.
- 5:28They got busy with it. All very normal.
- 5:30I did it when I was building my house.
- 5:32It's extremely normal. You want to do.
- 5:33I was involved. I went to pick up my tiles.
- 5:35I was more involved than my wife.
- 5:37I care about the tiles. I care about the wallpaper.
- 5:39I care right Yes, that's this is Sandy Hayward.
- 5:43Hi, I did my flaw. I care about this stuff a little
- 5:46bit right. But now what if the person gets
- 5:49very involved and gets you know, very upset when he finds out
- 5:52that they shifted to two inches also upsetting and he gets very
- 5:56upset when the color is not perfect to his liking.
- 6:00Also known and puts more focus and more interest and more time
- 6:04and more effort and more discussion.
- 6:06He's talking about all day long. It's talking about the outside
- 6:08furniture. He's talking about this and that
- 6:09another thing a lot. That's fine, and it's only
- 6:13technically, but it's challenging because Yarmo.
- 6:16You're giving up something. Else, yeah, you're definitely
- 6:18taking away from your ability to function and you're taking the
- 6:21ability to be a person, to have a peaceful time, to be a good
- 6:24father, good husband, good worker.
- 6:26It's all a good learner. It's all being taken away
- 6:29because you shifted your arm off and why?
- 6:32Because he didn't put enough time on his why, His why as to
- 6:36why is on his earth. And this can be true when
- 6:39someone is very busy. Like we set those two examples
- 6:41and not many examples and those two obvious.
- 6:43There are even examples within the good things, which means if
- 6:48let's say I give you a rabbi example, Rabbi supposed to teach
- 6:52and to develop and all that stuff.
- 6:54If you get too busy with certain side rabbi aspects, all right,
- 6:58then again, you know, you get busy with your popularity and
- 7:01how many people and all that stuff, then you just ruined your
- 7:03why. And once again you take your eye
- 7:06off the ball and every person and you can take this as well
- 7:10parenting, right? Take it to your children.
- 7:12You're trying to raise good children, absolutely.
- 7:15But let's say in your mind somewhere very normal, you want
- 7:18your children to be not just good children, but children that
- 7:21people, you know, you don't say this all right, No one ever say
- 7:23this, but you feel good when people know that your children
- 7:27are good children, right? Makes you feel good.
- 7:29It's a normal thing. I'll give you an example, a very
- 7:33real example, and that is that in my mind, I mentioned one of
- 7:36the classes in my daughter's school.
- 7:38I didn't know this life to the past.
- 7:41My daughter is one of my daughters, the very of a student
- 7:43and she was, you know, everything was always whether
- 7:48it's now I'm not saying it's always the best thing, but she
- 7:50was always very good in all the grades.
- 7:52And so I assumed and she was going to get one of these
- 7:55honors. She's assumed.
- 7:56All right, It was in the book Lily in the bag.
- 8:00It was in a question and the month before, I refuse.
- 8:04Before graduation time, I had a conversation with my wife.
- 8:08I'm like, you know, did you hear anything about the graduation or
- 8:11anything? Like, yeah, any talk.
- 8:13She's like nothing. She's like, why do you care why
- 8:15you're asking me? I said, 'cause I'm curious.
- 8:17I think, feel like, you know, our daughter should get
- 8:18something and she's like, you want an honor?
- 8:23I said, what do you mean? I got it and it's great.
- 8:26I think it's a good thing 'cause I want see what's it going to
- 8:30do. I say what I mean.
- 8:31She sent eight years, no matter nine years working and she
- 8:36deserved some reward for what she did.
- 8:39And I was like, it's only going to be roblems.
- 8:41I said, OK, really? She's like, there are three
- 8:44cousins in the grave. There are a lot of 90 something
- 8:47girls in the grave right there. We what happens when our
- 8:50daughter gets up there? She needs a thing.
- 8:52She's like, what do you need this for?
- 8:53Do we need to tell her that we're proud of her?
- 8:56Tell her they're proud of her? I don't know.
- 8:58I said, you're telling me all that studying and all that work
- 9:01and you don't want anything. And it lives going back and
- 9:04forth, right? And the reality was turns out
- 9:08that the class they didn't have, actually, they didn't do rewards
- 9:10in school for whatever reason, baby, they probably realized the
- 9:13problem, which is a strange thing because it's a funny
- 9:16balance. And they said they did class
- 9:18representative. My daughter had already been to
- 9:20class representative, something bigger.
- 9:21So she didn't get this fine. And it turns out it was the best
- 9:24thing. It turns out the entire
- 9:26conversation was for no, it was nothing.
- 9:28But all along I'm realizing, hey, you're a little bit mixing
- 9:32up the purpose of your child getting good grades where your
- 9:36child is saying you're actually believing that a kid, what do
- 9:39you really want? You want your daughter to stand
- 9:41up down on stage and people would say, wow, that's the last
- 9:44thing that you want. It should be less than you want,
- 9:46But that's because we messed up or I messed up in my mind.
- 9:50My why the why as a parent is that my kids are good kids and
- 9:54we try for that and we try with that and we fail and then we
- 9:56succeed and we ups and downs and all that.
- 9:59That's a typical normal person. But that's when you know why you
- 10:03here and why you doing what you doing.
- 10:05So overall, every person needs to know why on this earth and in
- 10:10each scenario, you need to know why you're doing that, why
- 10:15you're married, why you have children, why you're raising
- 10:17their children, why you making money, why you live where you
- 10:19live and why you pray to Hashem. Why you learn what you do
- 10:23because I said and once you focus on the wise, you will not
- 10:27lose and be caught up in all the distractions that life throws
- 10:31our way. You name the topic, it could be
- 10:33the most pure topic of life. If you mess up on the why, you
- 10:38can become very, very destructive.
- 10:40It could be hesing nothing more beautiful than hesing.
- 10:42If a person does not know why he's doing hesed, there are
- 10:45major politics that can happen to hesed.
- 10:46It could be learning to the nothing more beautiful than
- 10:49learning to the person does not realize why the learning to the
- 10:52they will eventually fall out and not be dedicated can be
- 10:55praying same thing. It could be raising children.
- 10:58I'll give you the example you name the topic you need to know
- 11:01clarity clear as day the beginning of this book that's
- 11:04the head of the chapter. Oh claw Hovato Olambo a lot more
- 11:09having clarity on to your purpose in this world.
- 11:12Now are we one more Parker for this idea where the clarity is
- 11:15So why does. Society take all this good that
- 11:18the people want to do something as simple as your daughter's
- 11:22situation Yes, which would turn her into a a cavoid magnet
- 11:28because now she finishes school. Oh, I'm not getting attention
- 11:32for I did this. I baked cookies for the
- 11:35homeless. I did right.
- 11:36And and then you go to the whole, I said adult world and
- 11:40week by week we put on these ensembles that, yeah, you know,
- 11:47if a guy walks in and doesn't get that, you know, item.
- 11:51Feels bad. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:53So really it's because it's because we have a reality which
- 11:57is, and the reality is very far from the truth, OK?
- 12:00The reality we have to deal with, and you have to have to
- 12:02know this in life, is that people need respect, people need
- 12:06to cover, people need to be treated like things.
- 12:09And once we play into that, because it's very effective,
- 12:13then what is happening is he creates an animal and that
- 12:15animal is, is that the guy who did not get respect feels bad.
- 12:19Now they both need respect. Now you pump it up.
- 12:21And now more respect means more donations and it means more pump
- 12:25and it gives the, the organization more fuel and more
- 12:28volunteers and more and more power with the next year.
- 12:32And really as it becoming a vicious cycle.
- 12:34And I don't think there's a way in my simple mind to be able to
- 12:37figure out a, a way around this. I can't think of 1, but it would
- 12:41be a great world if you could. Have you had a world where the
- 12:46secret Society of Hesed was as popular as the public side of
- 12:52Hesed and the guy who gives money privately is as well
- 12:56known, is not as well known, is as well a pre, can't be well
- 12:59known but as well appreciated, or is you know, as good a guy?
- 13:03He has to be giving the same. Amount and he's giving the same
- 13:05amount also by the way we have. A lot of people like.
- 13:07That we do, but it's always a challenge.
- 13:08And you know what it takes people who have a special
- 13:12upbringing, who do not like the limelight, now that they
- 13:16actually hate the limelight. It takes people who are raised
- 13:19on the idea that the limelight is a bad thing for you.
- 13:21It's actually going to cost you. It takes a whole different head.
- 13:25And you know what also happens? People start off like that and
- 13:28then they can fall out. Nobody knows because they were
- 13:30never public. So you have to be at what keeps
- 13:33you on in check is the public talk.
- 13:35It does not also create the animal.
- 13:38So you have to figure out a way. It's a very delicate.
- 13:41Motivation on that you need you do it yourself and you don't
- 13:44want anyone knowing about it and you're proud of yourself.
- 13:46How many people have self motivation and they fall out?
- 13:50There's many areas. You're motivated and you fall
- 13:52out. Everyone has burnout.
- 13:53We all have burnout. Different areas all right.
- 13:56Now you have to be passed to burnout.
- 13:57You'd be so self motivated. So now you're running into a
- 13:59situation like this. If I go down the public world,
- 14:03I'm creating potentially a character, Gava talk, jealousy,
- 14:13all those I'm creating all that. If I go down the private world,
- 14:17I'm creating limited motivation, lack of funds, lack of drive.
- 14:22All right, what do I choose? And that's what everyone always
- 14:25chooses, right? They bite the bullet and they go
- 14:28public. I understand their mind, their
- 14:30mindset, because otherwise they won't get things done.
- 14:33What a person in the own family wants to do is to figure out how
- 14:37you can create, you know, yourself and your children with
- 14:39the belief and the balance. You can't be a sketch and think,
- 14:43I think they're going to be completely low key.
- 14:45It's not going to happen. It won't be the motivation.
- 14:47And I know some people who started that way and then they
- 14:49fell out. The balance is that we don't
- 14:52care for the talk. It doesn't feel our flame.
- 14:56It doesn't make us feel good. Yes, it's there as we will talk,
- 15:00as we will know our name. We don't care for it.
- 15:02And whatever we do that's impressive, we still rather
- 15:05people don't talk about whether that means having good children,
- 15:08that means being a good guy, that means being a generous
- 15:12person. You name the topic.
- 15:13A lot of people OK, like. Don't talk about me, but then
- 15:16you're going to talk about. That guy that's yeah, that's a
- 15:18real thing. You know what those who live
- 15:20without setting, they would have been better off throwing.
- 15:22Why nobody, right? If you have a no credit society,
- 15:25that's great. But it's very hard to because
- 15:27there are some people that need it.
- 15:29And because those people need it, if you don't give a damn,
- 15:31they will not exist. They will not be able to help
- 15:34and it's just the way it. Is.
- 15:34What does that mean? How many sermon people?
- 15:36It's like, so then we're feeding in yeah, to this item.
- 15:40We are. So then the guy who doesn't have
- 15:43that issue doesn't need it now he's likes it, so now this thing
- 15:47becomes infectious. OK, you can't find perfection in
- 15:51this area. The most you can do is start
- 15:53from yourself and say the own self in your own family.
- 15:56We are really here for a purpose.
- 15:59We had to survive him. We're lucky enough to have the
- 16:02money to give to other people. We're looking up to have the,
- 16:07you know, the wisdom, the the job, the position to be here.
- 16:11We are, we're blessed. It's all a miracle.
- 16:14And because of that, we're just going to continue with that
- 16:17mindset. The moment the person loses
- 16:19track of that, they run into trouble, as we're saying, and
- 16:22the moment the person holds on to that mindset and they do the
- 16:26right thing, they do more of the right thing.
- 16:28So this is literally you have to know the why in every area of
- 16:31life. You need to another why and you
- 16:32can be so distracted as to where your why is because the way the
- 16:36world is, is the world's the opposite of the real truth.
- 16:40The world you live in and the truth of the Torah are polar
- 16:43opposite. They're not just a little bit
- 16:45off, they're complete opposite the way the world works in the
- 16:48world. The structure on GABA on being a
- 16:51big deal. I'm being spoken about, I'm
- 16:54being well known. I'm feeling good about yourself.
- 16:56I mean, I'll just give you an example.
- 16:58There's no negative anyone. I was I had to walk around deal
- 17:03the special about first seven and I walked and I cannot
- 17:07believe how beautiful this town is.
- 17:08It's beyond, it's beyond, it's beyond.
- 17:10It's crazy, but everything looks.
- 17:13The movies cannot even depict this.
- 17:15You can't find me a movie any give me the best director of all
- 17:19time. He cannot depict the scene.
- 17:21It's perfection. You have the people sitting on
- 17:23the porch, perfect grass, perfect flowers, perfect porch,
- 17:27perfect this that had taken the perfect walk that playing the
- 17:30perfect game and everything they dress it's it's completely
- 17:33perfect. And you and I know take life by
- 17:36life. You don't know a single family
- 17:39that has it even close to perfect, right?
- 17:42I don't know what I don't think you know it.
- 17:44It's not a single family that has it close to perfect.
- 17:46So what's happening? How does that make sense?
- 17:48The vision is perfection, the reality is anything but.
- 17:54What's up shot. The shot is that God's world was
- 17:57made in a way that the way you see is a complete sketch.
- 18:03Not that these families don't have beautiful homes and now
- 18:05they don't have great families, but they all have to deal with
- 18:07the realities of life which you all have to face.
- 18:10Something's going on somewhere, someone's not behaving the
- 18:13grace. Is great on the other side, all
- 18:14right. All right, some are not
- 18:15behaving, some are not doing well, some, some part of the
- 18:18business is falling apart. Something's happening, All
- 18:21right, everyone has it. So what am I seeing?
- 18:24The answer is I shouldn't create the world in a way that is a
- 18:26fake vision and a very different reality.
- 18:29And the more a person is understanding of that, the more
- 18:34they'll be dedicated to the true way of life.
- 18:37But the less they realize that, the more they want they don't
- 18:39want to live that, the more they're going to want to build
- 18:41that, the more they're going to be seen that way because they
- 18:44think that's the real reality where it's not.
- 18:46And our overall concept of life has to be We know the truth, we
- 18:50recognize the truth, and we're going to live life toward that
- 18:54real truth, not toward that fake vision of what the truth might
- 18:58look like. What was that?
- 18:59What ages of writtens? For his.
- 19:01Book you're a different ages, we're a different maturity like.
- 19:05Well, kids should honest too. The earlier a kid finds his
- 19:08house, the less they have to get fooled and then get taken back.
- 19:13How many knew this as a teenager, right?
- 19:15Do you have to notice young early on how many you know?
- 19:19Kids actually believe when they, you know, they yell at their
- 19:22parents because they they're not giving them enough or they're
- 19:25not making enough, which sounds such a sick the same thing to
- 19:27say, but it's out there because they actually believe that it's
- 19:30normal to make a lot of money, right?
- 19:32And I think that it's normal to ride certain bikes, to have
- 19:35certain cars. Anything is expected.
- 19:37That's the norm. Where'd that come from?
- 19:39Zero understanding of the reality.

- 19:44it takes to bring in money and they knew it takes all the
- 19:47different things at the face, they would never talk that way.
- 19:50That's because they came fake first instead of reality first.
- 19:54Yeah. It should be taught to children,
- 19:56should be taught to adults, seniors, you name it.
- 19:59The mindset of knowing your why in this world is something that
- 20:02can get you out of so much trouble and something that can
- 20:05get your mind so clear and bring you to such a beautiful place
- 20:10where you're functioning, only doing what's right and only
- 20:13doing what's good and never being distracted.
- 20:16But with the world which tries so hard to pull you down, never
- 20:20getting distracted by that. That's the idea.
- 20:22What's up with this?
