- 1:15Speaker 4: I was blown away Friday night. Murray, Kentucky's ready. Ready

- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Dogs, dogs, dogs. Larry and Carolyn say hello. I wonder,
- 1:35Speaker 1: did you bring me a Mr. Lucky Challenge coin?
- 1:39Speaker 2: And here's the question.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Duh, bears.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:48Speaker 1: The Panhandle of Florida ready for all five.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And there they are.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Speedy Greg and Adler are here. And we are ready
- 1:56Speaker 6: to unpack what was a crazy weekend.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I mean, crazy. So we have reviews from Friday night.
- 2:04Speaker 1: We got that. We got football. Speedy, can we find
- 2:08Speaker 1: Dickie today? I know he won't be up early today.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Not early.
- 2:16Speaker 3: No.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Not early. Not early. Still hadn't watched Saban, the documentary.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Still hadn't done it. I'm three episodes in. I am.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I hadn't even started. I watched another episode. God, I'm
- 2:28Speaker 1: so mad at myself.
- 2:29Speaker 7: I was like, the deadline was today for me because
- 2:31Speaker 7: I knew you would ruin it for everybody.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yep, here you go. I'm glad you're stuck on three.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Dick is dead. Dick is dead.
- 2:40Speaker 3: He is. He did.
- 2:41Speaker 1: He passed away.
- 2:42Speaker 8: The Saban Doc, I heard, because it's a six-part series,
- 2:45Speaker 8: I heard they're going to call it Part 7, and
- 2:48Speaker 8: it's going to be called The Game the Refs Won.
- 2:50Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Talking about the Georgia.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Game this weekend.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Okay, buddy.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Set seven, part seven.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Yeah, that one, you know, when I watch some of
- 3:02Speaker 6: the weird things that happened in that game, I've never
- 3:04Speaker 6: been so happy that DraftKings is not advertising anymore.
- 3:07Speaker 9: Oh.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But the– because, boy, that was a weird look. You
- 3:12Speaker 1: tell me about– man, those were two good teams playing.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah, they were.
- 3:18Speaker 1: That was a heavyweight title. Really good game.
- 3:20Speaker 6: And if they both can hold it together, that was
- 3:22Speaker 6: just round one. We'll see them play each other again.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Golly.
- 3:25Speaker 1: The Bears.
- 3:26Speaker 10: Ditka.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Ditka.
- 3:29Speaker 6: Let me tell you, when they did that Saturday Night
- 3:31Speaker 6: Live skit, of course, Greg, you know what I'm bringing up.
- 3:34Speaker 1: My favorite will always be the mini Bears.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Mini Bears.
- 3:37Speaker 6: When they would come up with scenarios of anybody they
- 3:39Speaker 6: thought could beat the Bears, and they came up with,
- 3:42Speaker 6: what do you think about this? What if the Bears
- 3:44Speaker 6: were mini Bears, mini size? And then the question, is
- 3:49Speaker 6: Ditka still full-size?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 6: And the question was, yeah, okay, then Ditka and Mini
- 3:53Speaker 6: Bears 49, 49 or 7. As long as Ditka was
- 3:54Speaker 6: still full-size. As long as Ditka was full-size, there was E-Mini.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So Ditka went on in.
- 4:02Speaker 3: He did.
- 4:03Speaker 9: Yep.
- 4:03Speaker 1: He did.
- 4:04Speaker 9: Golly.
- 4:06Speaker 7: I loved hearing the stories from all the coaches that
- 4:11Speaker 7: were asked about it. And I know the Detroit Lions coach,
- 4:14Speaker 7: his name escapes me.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Dan.
- 4:16Speaker 7: He found out about it in his post-practice press conference
- 4:22Speaker 7: or whatever. He was like, are you serious? And, you know,
- 4:25Speaker 7: he was a tight end. And Ditka, obviously a tight end.
- 4:29Speaker 7: And when Ditka was with the Saints, he was being interviewed.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Dan Campbell.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Dan Campbell, thank you. And as a player, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 7: for them to draft him and all this kind of stuff.
- 4:41Speaker 7: And he was talking about when he walked in, he
- 4:43Speaker 7: was expecting like, you know, all these coaches and tables
- 4:48Speaker 7: everywhere and like a full room. He said he walks
- 4:51Speaker 7: into this room and all the lights are out and
- 4:52Speaker 7: you see a little desk light over in the corner
- 4:56Speaker 7: and smoke coming up from the table. He said, come
- 5:00Speaker 7: on over here and sit down. And he said he
- 5:02Speaker 7: was so nervous, but it was a very one-on-one type conversation,
- 5:07Speaker 7: but he had his cigar.
- 5:08Speaker 1: He was just sitting there under the light.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Oh, did he?
- 5:11Speaker 1: So what was it? What took him out? How old
- 5:14Speaker 1: was he? I think he was 86. I believe he
- 5:16Speaker 1: was 86. Yeah, I don't know. Did he have an illness? 86. Wow, 86.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Or just sudden? I don't know. But let's see here. Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Dick had one on him?
- 5:30Speaker 2: He had had a heart attack in the 80s.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Of course he did. All men like Dick have heart
- 5:36Speaker 1: attacks in the 80s. They do.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Every man like Ditko survived.
- 5:40Speaker 6: You got one heart attack, you push through it, and
- 5:41Speaker 6: then you live a long time after it.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Everybody knows that. That skit. Remember when they always had
- 5:46Speaker 1: a heart attack? Dad's having a heart attack.
- 5:49Speaker 9: That is awful.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Looking at college football, Georgia. Natural causes.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:55Speaker 1: He just got old and sick and died. Thank you, Rick.
- 5:59Speaker 1: The lights went out on Ditko.
- 5:59Speaker 7: He had years of health battles that we've talked about,
- 6:02Speaker 7: but it says here he died of natural causes.
- 6:04Speaker 1: How about And he played himself in Kicking and Screaming.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Funny.
- 6:08Speaker 1: He was good in that.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Funny.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Of course, he was playing himself.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Sure.
- 6:11Speaker 1: The fact that he was did end the movie. Yes.
- 6:15Speaker 1: College football, Georgia, number one. No surprise there.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Notre Dame, number two.
- 6:20Speaker 9: Oh, wow.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Beat Stanford bad. Stanford's not good.
- 6:24Speaker 3: No.
- 6:25Speaker 1: The U, is it three? Ohio State, four. Indiana, five.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Indiana had a little scare.
- 6:32Speaker 3: They did.
- 6:33Speaker 1: How about Nebraska's pretty good? I mean, did that make
- 6:37Speaker 1: you feel better? It did.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It did.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Alabama stays at six, not punished because of, I guess,
- 6:42Speaker 6: the way they lost.
- 6:43Speaker 1: The refs, yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Texas, who also got beat, they're now at seven. I
- 6:50Speaker 6: saw that game, a lot of it. That was an
- 6:52Speaker 6: interesting game. And then BYU, who's undefeated, is at eight.
- 6:57Speaker 6: Ole Miss at nine. Texas Tech, ten.
- 7:02Speaker 7: And Kentucky was not ranked. They jumped up to 15
- 7:06Speaker 7: after beating LSU. I was going back and forth between
- 7:09Speaker 7: that game and the Alabama-Georgia game. I had it split screen.
- 7:13Speaker 7: I was just going back and forth. I've got to
- 7:16Speaker 7: ask one question about Kentucky. At one point, the quarterback
- 7:20Speaker 7: comes off the field, and I believe one of the
- 7:22Speaker 7: tight ends is the quarterback. It's just a slew of
- 7:26Speaker 7: linemen and tight ends. I believe they called it the
- 7:28Speaker 7: blue wall. And it's a, it's a package they have
- 7:33Speaker 7: or whatever. Anyway, I was like, yeah, I was like
- 7:37Speaker 7: the blue wall.
- 7:37Speaker 9: This is cool.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I saw just highlights of the blue wall, but I
- 7:40Speaker 6: didn't see it happen, but it's a blue wall.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's a, it's a big old blue out there.
- 7:44Speaker 7: But how about, how about them going for two? And
- 7:46Speaker 7: they said, no, we'll go for two and win.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And I mean, we're even close.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Running right in there. Quarterback draw.
- 7:52Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Draw.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Win a soul in front of him. No. Of course,
- 7:55Speaker 1: Kiffin has now dropped two.
- 7:57Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 7:58Speaker 7: And he also, he also lost a, five-star recruit that had,
- 8:03Speaker 7: I guess, verbally committed to him and switched to Florida.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Kiffin, I'll go ahead and tell you, they're not going
- 8:08Speaker 1: to be patient. Really? You wouldn't think they'd have to be.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They spent $ 50 million on players. By the way, speaking
- 8:16Speaker 1: of Florida, what in the world? Well, how do you go? Guys,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I came on. They didn't just beat Ole Miss. They
- 8:22Speaker 1: hammered Ole Miss. I spoke in this microphone.
- 8:25Speaker 6: I remember even saying, hey, that Auburn loss, they got
- 8:29Speaker 6: to feel pretty good about that loss to Florida.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Remember that?
- 8:30Speaker 6: I was like, man, Florida, they may be back. And
- 8:33Speaker 6: then all of a sudden, they've gotten drilled two weeks
- 8:34Speaker 6: in a row.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Missouri drilled them. Their coach had been trying to tell
- 8:38Speaker 1: everybody that.
- 8:39Speaker 3: We're not.
- 8:39Speaker 1: We've got a five-year plan we're working.
- 8:42Speaker 2: LSU paid over $ 100 million to get rid of Brian Kelly,
- 8:47Speaker 2: hire Lane Kiffin, and assemble this roster.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 8:50Speaker 2: They now have a worse record. than they did last
- 8:53Speaker 2: year through six games.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Which means they'll go back, regroup, and host Mississippi State
- 8:59Speaker 1: this weekend. Oh, that is this weekend.
- 9:01Speaker 7: But how about this? This doesn't sound right. Dropping out
- 9:05Speaker 7: of the rankings, Oregon. Y'all, UCLA beat Oregon.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah, what about Oregon? Some people had them picked to
- 9:11Speaker 1: win it all. Right, right.
- 9:12Speaker 7: And Pittsburgh, who was, you know, hey, and then North
- 9:15Speaker 7: Carolina beats them, they're out, and then Florida dropped out.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Anybody at all going to give Missouri a look? How
- 9:21Speaker 1: about that? They drilled Texas A & M 27-6.
- 9:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Because they're not just winning, they're drilling people. What's up
- 9:26Speaker 1: with Texas A & M?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Guys. Y'all.
- 9:29Speaker 1: You would think, I mean, they were doing okay anyway,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but when it became legal to give money to players...
- 9:36Speaker 1: They should have no problem with the roster.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I know.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Something's going on. I don't know what's happened there.
- 9:41Speaker 8: Auburn had zero points scored against them this weekend.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Zero interceptions.
- 9:49Speaker 1: How'd you like that, buddy?
- 9:51Speaker 3: We were off.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Zero touchdowns. Well, okay.
- 9:55Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 10:03Speaker 6: So uh we had the hurricane over the weekend um
- 10:08Speaker 6: for those of you that were in its path uh
- 10:12Speaker 6: tough stuff uh it definitely uh wreaked havoc on a
- 10:16Speaker 6: lot of people some of the images are just um Unbelievable. And, uh,
- 10:21Speaker 6: it did end up, you know, one time they were,
- 10:23Speaker 6: they were calling, you know, that it might go to
- 10:26Speaker 6: a category three.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It looks like it did officially come in as a two, uh,
- 10:29Speaker 1: but a two is still a lot. It went from
- 10:33Speaker 1: a three to a two.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 6: So, um, uh, it didn't, it didn't seem to stay
- 10:37Speaker 6: a three very long, but, but still it was devastating.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 7: It ended up going in and right at Destin, Rick. Um, and,
- 10:44Speaker 7: but Milton, Florida, Santa Rosa, Pensacola. have just been hit
- 10:51Speaker 7: hard because of what they call a sting jet. And
- 10:54Speaker 7: it's like a narrow band of violent winds that descend
- 10:59Speaker 7: from a loft, and it intensifies like a cyclone almost.
- 11:03Speaker 7: And it has just destroyed that area.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of that area. A lot of
- 11:10Speaker 1: the power is still out.
- 11:11Speaker 7: And, Greg, you being a former lineman, you know, they said,
- 11:15Speaker 7: it's just a tangled mess. We're coming in having to like,
- 11:17Speaker 7: it's like it's a new subdivision or whatever. And so
- 11:21Speaker 7: I know my sister and brother-in-law live in Pensacola, and
- 11:23Speaker 7: they're still out. And they said, you go around town,
- 11:27Speaker 7: and it's just awful.
- 11:28Speaker 1: The last hurricane I worked was in Milton, Florida.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Really?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 6: So, yeah, if you look right here, it said it
- 11:37Speaker 6: slammed into the Florida panhandle, as Speedy said, near Destin.
- 11:41Speaker 6: as a Category 2, maximum sustained winds of 105, bringing
- 11:47Speaker 6: destructive winds.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And, of course, the storm surge.
- 11:51Speaker 6: A lot of you are asking because of personal connection,
- 11:54Speaker 6: Andy Andrews, what was bad news for some people ended
- 11:59Speaker 6: up being good news for Andy and his wife and
- 12:02Speaker 6: family because of it changing And going east, it really helped.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Cleared him up. He said they came out of it
- 12:10Speaker 1: with minor damage. They were on the good side.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And one time they were, I'm talking about right in
- 12:15Speaker 1: the bullseye.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Which is why he could not leave and be with
- 12:19Speaker 6: us Friday night in Huntsville. All plans are that he
- 12:23Speaker 6: will be back for Birmingham and also Gerald Cates will return.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Bringing him back.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Looking forward to that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: In Birmingham.
- 12:30Speaker 6: So Friday night, you'll have, as of right now, you'll
- 12:33Speaker 6: have all of us, of course. You'll have Andy Andrews.
- 12:36Speaker 6: You'll have Gary. And you'll have Gerald. And, of course,
- 12:39Speaker 6: the world's greatest garage band. And maybe a little surprise
- 12:41Speaker 6: for you. Maybe a little surprise.
- 12:43Speaker 9: That's good.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. So we hope all of you that are trying
- 12:48Speaker 1: to climb out of all that. And how about this?
- 12:51Speaker 1: There's some people that normally watch us and listen to us,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and they can't right now.
- 12:54Speaker 3: You're right. You're right.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Because they don't have any. It's true.
- 12:56Speaker 6: And we all decided, except for Kevin and Ryan, because
- 13:01Speaker 6: of Spann's warning. He told us that if we stayed
- 13:06Speaker 6: in town and drove back when we started to, that
- 13:09Speaker 6: we might be in some of the, you know, nothing
- 13:12Speaker 6: like what you guys went through on the coast.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Heavy rain.
- 13:14Speaker 6: But heavy rain and some gusts of 40. It never
- 13:18Speaker 6: really happened as far as where we live, thank the Lord. Obviously,
- 13:22Speaker 6: some people had some issues.
- 13:23Speaker 1: We were out of power for probably three or I
- 13:27Speaker 1: don't know what time it went out. I woke up
- 13:29Speaker 1: at five. and the whole house was dark and everything's quiet.
- 13:32Speaker 7: Yeah it is yeah we lost power all our i
- 13:34Speaker 7: woke up all the clocks were blinking but it probably
- 13:37Speaker 7: wasn't out long but we lost we lost it at
- 13:39Speaker 7: some point overnight.
- 13:40Speaker 6: Yeah we never did lose it where i live and
- 13:43Speaker 6: on the drive home i didn't even see rain until
- 13:47Speaker 6: i got to almost home.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Really it hit me just just south of uh of
- 13:53Speaker 7: downtown birmingham um but it wasn't awful. You could, I
- 13:57Speaker 7: was in Terry's little car and I could feel the
- 13:58Speaker 7: effects of it. I was still like, God, I probably
- 14:00Speaker 7: should have my child.
- 14:02Speaker 6: My biggest concern, you know, was not the weather. It
- 14:05Speaker 6: was staying awake. And so Sherry called me when I
- 14:09Speaker 6: got about, still had about 45 minutes to go. And
- 14:12Speaker 6: she's like, well, I'll just talk you on in.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, I'm really doing okay.
- 14:15Speaker 6: You know, these shows, we get so fired up because you,
- 14:19Speaker 6: the crowd, you people are incredible.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 6: And so I'm usually still, I told her when we
- 14:25Speaker 6: talked about it, someone changed my plan and drive.
- 14:27Speaker 1: She's like, you think that's wise?
- 14:29Speaker 6: I said, well, if it's anything like Montgomery, I said,
- 14:32Speaker 6: even though that was just an hour home, I said,
- 14:34Speaker 6: I was so fired up. I was never sleepy one
- 14:36Speaker 6: time on the way home.
- 14:37Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 6: I said, and I know I'm adding almost another hour, um,
- 14:41Speaker 6: because I think I came in a little under two hours.
- 14:43Speaker 1: But, but right at it. And, but I was fine.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I was never sleepy.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Same.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I wasn't either. Well, I, Because when someone is criticizing,
- 14:51Speaker 1: you're driving for two hours. It'll keep you awake.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yes, it will.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And buddy, Lee, Lee, Lee, Rodney Gunn. You'd have thought
- 14:58Speaker 1: I was running off the road everywhere we were at,
- 15:00Speaker 1: but I wasn't.
- 15:01Speaker 8: Yeah, I hit the road, headed home as well. I
- 15:04Speaker 8: just wanted to be home just in case anything got hairy,
- 15:06Speaker 8: you know, in the weather. And like you're saying, Rick,
- 15:10Speaker 8: you're just so amped up afterwards. You're kind of replaying
- 15:13Speaker 8: the night and things like that.
- 15:16Speaker 2: So it was fine.
- 15:16Speaker 8: And then I just grabbed some chips. I'm like, if
- 15:19Speaker 8: I get tired, I'll just eat some chips and the
- 15:21Speaker 8: crunch will just crunch me awake. We lost, we ended
- 15:24Speaker 8: up losing power. I said, I got home and in,
- 15:29Speaker 8: it was 1129 pulled into my driveway and I got
- 15:32Speaker 8: in bed cause I took a shower and in like,
- 15:34Speaker 8: you just kind of thinking about stuff.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I get in bed and.
- 15:39Speaker 8: I'm asleep for like 20 minutes and my son wakes
- 15:41Speaker 8: me up.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 15:43Speaker 8: And then I'm asleep for like 30 more minutes and
- 15:45Speaker 8: my daughter woke me up. And then the power goes
- 15:49Speaker 8: out because things were starting.
- 15:51Speaker 2: To get pretty windy. And we have a very wooded lot.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 8: And it was getting windy. And you could hear limbs
- 16:00Speaker 8: kind of twigs, but it sounds so loud.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You could hear them falling.
- 16:04Speaker 8: And so I just go out into the living room.
- 16:06Speaker 8: I'm just looking out the window like, all right, how
- 16:09Speaker 8: angry is it out there? And then we did lose power.
- 16:12Speaker 8: And my kids have like three... lights and two fans
- 16:17Speaker 8: and a noisemaker that are all plug-in. And so once
- 16:21Speaker 8: those go out, it was just one thing after another.
- 16:24Speaker 8: And I think I got like.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Two hours of sleep that night.
- 16:27Speaker 8: We ended up getting power back at 1 p.m. So,
- 16:31Speaker 8: you know, by the time I moved everything out of
- 16:33Speaker 8: the fridge and freezer into the battery-powered fridge in the van, once.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I got that done, then the power came back on.
- 16:40Speaker 3: So it was good. It was all good.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Well, you probably like a lot of us. I slept
- 16:43Speaker 6: through most of the games. I mean, you settle down
- 16:45Speaker 6: and watch the game, you're gone.
- 16:47Speaker 1: You know? We'll be right back.
- 16:49Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Something that I am so, so excited about this, and
- 17:03Speaker 6: that is the Voice of the Martyrs book series.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Guys, this is incredible.
- 17:09Speaker 6: You're actually going to hear some of this showing up
- 17:12Speaker 6: in Strange Books, Encounters podcast because it's got so much
- 17:16Speaker 6: information about those that are being persecuted because of their
- 17:21Speaker 6: faith in Christ.
- 17:23Speaker 3: All over the world.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Not because the world's just broken. There's certainly enough suffering
- 17:29Speaker 6: that goes on there. We're talking about people all over
- 17:32Speaker 6: the world that are being persecuted because they boldly follow
- 17:37Speaker 6: Jesus in places that could cost them everything.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Everything. And we're often asked, do you pray for persecution
- 17:47Speaker 1: to end? And, of course, the answer is most of
- 17:52Speaker 1: the time, and you see this even in the New Testament,
- 17:55Speaker 1: they don't. Not because these people are indifferent. It's because
- 18:00Speaker 1: Jesus never told us to pray for persecution to stop.
- 18:03Speaker 1: He actually told us to expect.
- 18:04Speaker 6: It and to respond with bold faith, unwavering love, and
- 18:09Speaker 6: a deep trust in him.
- 18:11Speaker 1: If you go back to the Church of Acts, when
- 18:14Speaker 1: they started getting beaten because they would not denounce Jesus,
- 18:17Speaker 1: they went back and prayed for boldness, not for the
- 18:20Speaker 1: persecution to end. Let me tell you something. If you
- 18:24Speaker 1: would like to find out more about the voice of
- 18:28Speaker 1: the martyrs, we have put together a URL that I
- 18:33Speaker 1: will share with you.
- 18:34Speaker 6: I've got the full series of books, and they're fantastic.
- 18:38Speaker 6: Go to vom.org slash rick. That is vom.org slash rick.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Now listen, the first one in October in this series,
- 18:50Speaker 6: Karl Marx and the Satanic Roots of Communism. There's a
- 18:55Speaker 6: reason you see a push back to communism. It has
- 19:00Speaker 6: satanic foundations, and you can really, really benefit And also,
- 19:08Speaker 6: it's almost like you'll have an epiphany.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Oh, I see what's going on here. This is spiritual.
- 19:13Speaker 1: You better believe it is. So once again, go to.
- 19:16Speaker 6: VOM, for Voice of Martyrs, VOM.org slash Rick and get
- 19:22Speaker 6: this series. It will radically change the way you see
- 19:26Speaker 6: your faith.
- 19:32Speaker 3: No doubt about it.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Coca-Cola and Big Box Entertainment. It's been a great run.
- 19:40Speaker 6: You know, this Friday night, it's going to be a
- 19:43Speaker 6: little dicey, too, because air supply is playing right across
- 19:45Speaker 6: the street.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I was trying.
- 19:47Speaker 7: To tell my youngest son, Reese, about the beef with
- 19:51Speaker 7: Air Supply.
- 19:51Speaker 1: And he just kind of looked at me and was like, really? Look,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I was talking to the crew.
- 19:55Speaker 6: They said they're going to park at 18 Wheeler where
- 19:57Speaker 6: Air Supply can see it loud.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Loud.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Up in their face.
- 20:02Speaker 6: By the way, I had somebody at the Huntsville show
- 20:04Speaker 6: bring me an Air Supply tour backstage pass.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I saw that.
- 20:08Speaker 1: That was cool. He had a lot of cool stuff.
- 20:10Speaker 1: He did.
- 20:10Speaker 3: He did.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh, that guy, he's got collections.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 1: He's brought stuff before.
- 20:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. So that was cool.
- 20:16Speaker 6: So after the tour in Birmingham, this was from Tennessee
- 20:20Speaker 6: on Tex Nation, after the tour in Birmingham, will we
- 20:24Speaker 6: ever see Greg's bass guitar again?
- 20:26Speaker 1: No, probably not. It'll go back in the store. It'll
- 20:29Speaker 1: go back upstairs.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Will Greg ever see his base guitar?
- 20:32Speaker 8: Right.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'm throwing it in the audience Friday.
- 20:34Speaker 6: Let me tell you, Greg, having the other side of
- 20:37Speaker 6: your grandkids there last night. First of all, we also
- 20:41Speaker 6: had a picture that Lisa sent out that Greg's newest grandchild,
- 20:47Speaker 6: she's how old?
- 20:48Speaker 1: A month. And how our merch crew found a shirt
- 20:52Speaker 1: for her?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Yeah. A month, though.
- 20:53Speaker 1: All of them had one on. But this picture Adler's showing.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Of greg walking uh he the show's over he's headed
- 21:00Speaker 6: to the truck got his bag and mary hollis his
- 21:04Speaker 6: granddaughter walking with him with her hand on that but
- 21:07Speaker 6: she's carrying the bag uh isn't that cool that's a
- 21:10Speaker 6: great picture that is a great picture.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Everybody was so nice lisa was telling me the listeners
- 21:14Speaker 1: coming up and speaking to them and at the other
- 21:17Speaker 1: show when my other grandkids were at same thing yeah
- 21:19Speaker 1: with taylor and kelsey and yeah marin and ellis yeah
- 21:22Speaker 1: they've all got to come the the it was probably
- 21:25Speaker 1: better not having them all at one show. Well, yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I thought about that. They might've gotten like a big pile.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But the people are just so nice and just came
- 21:33Speaker 1: up and just, you know, it's really, really, that's the
- 21:37Speaker 1: best part of doing it. Of course.
- 21:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And, uh, but they, they treated my family really good.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And, uh, and I knew they would. It ain't like that.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I thought that wouldn't, but I was saying they, they
- 21:46Speaker 1: go out of their way.
- 21:47Speaker 6: To, Yeah, it's the encouragement of this. Like you said,
- 21:51Speaker 6: take away all the other funny things. We got tons
- 21:54Speaker 6: of emails and hey birds today. Because I want some
- 21:56Speaker 6: of you that are either missing it or you're still
- 22:00Speaker 6: thinking I might go Friday night, even though there's very
- 22:03Speaker 6: few tickets left.
- 22:03Speaker 1: But there are some. And this is an old vaudeville theater.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So I don't know if you, it is a cool,
- 22:10Speaker 1: cool venue. Great way to end the tour.
- 22:12Speaker 6: Now it's not as big as the other venues we've
- 22:14Speaker 6: been to, but it's such a cool setup. And don't
- 22:18Speaker 6: be bothered by some of the seats saying might have
- 22:21Speaker 6: an obstructed view. There's some shows that maybe that would matter,
- 22:27Speaker 6: not in ours, because we move around the stage so
- 22:30Speaker 6: much and we use every part of it. You're going
- 22:33Speaker 6: to see what you need to see. Most of it
- 22:34Speaker 6: stays right there in the center. And then, of course,
- 22:37Speaker 6: the band will be everywhere, so don't worry about that.
- 22:40Speaker 6: But the encouragement part of it.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Is just incredible. And, of course, Greg, you know this
- 22:45Speaker 1: Friday night who's coming?
- 22:46Speaker 3: Who? Mama.
- 22:47Speaker 10: Mama.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I forgot about that, by the way. Mama's coming.
- 22:51Speaker 9: Uh-oh.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Sherry's bringing mama. That's funny.
- 22:54Speaker 3: It is.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Y'all got some earplugs for her when y'all crank up?
- 22:58Speaker 6: You know, there were some for the grandkids, but I
- 23:00Speaker 6: will tell you that Michael, now mom may see it differently,
- 23:03Speaker 6: but Michael and the crew, P360, that's the production crew
- 23:08Speaker 6: who does sounds and lights and all this. They've been incredible.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I've had so many. Yeah, they have. You'll see in
- 23:14Speaker 1: the emails today, some of them are saying, wow, I
- 23:15Speaker 1: didn't know the production would be to that level. Uh,
- 23:18Speaker 1: but we wanted it to be at that level. It
- 23:19Speaker 1: needs to be big time. It doesn't need to be cheap. Uh,
- 23:22Speaker 1: of course it costs, but, but, uh, but the, um, um, he, I.
- 23:27Speaker 6: Went out front and soundcheck because I, you know, when
- 23:29Speaker 6: you think about, you can go to some concerts and
- 23:31Speaker 6: they blare it just, just to be loud. And the
- 23:35Speaker 6: way Michael and the crew mix it, it's powerful. You get,
- 23:39Speaker 6: you get the, you know, the bass and the drum.
- 23:42Speaker 6: But it's not blaring.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 23:44Speaker 6: It doesn't blare at you. And so your kids, grandkids,
- 23:47Speaker 6: we had earplugs for them, but they didn't have any problems.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But now that mom could be a different. Yeah, I
- 23:52Speaker 1: was just going to say. Yeah, that could be really different.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I know.
- 23:56Speaker 1: She don't need to wear hearing aids. No, she does not. Uh-uh. No,
- 23:59Speaker 1: let's just not worry about that.
- 24:03Speaker 6: So we will see how it goes. There will be
- 24:08Speaker 6: a little surprise for Birmingham. I'll leave it at that. Uh,
- 24:12Speaker 6: and then we may, we're working on something after the
- 24:15Speaker 6: tour that we might be able to tell you about.
- 24:17Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 24:17Speaker 1: We'll just see how it goes. I don't have a
- 24:19Speaker 1: report on that yet, but maybe I will after the
- 24:21Speaker 1: tour's over. So, um, it's going to be, this is
- 24:23Speaker 1: it guys. Remember we talked about that six week run?
- 24:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 1: This is, this is week number six.
- 24:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And it's, uh, it's, it's been a lot of fun.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm going to miss it. It's been a blast.
- 24:35Speaker 2: It really has been really fun. A lot of work,
- 24:38Speaker 2: but really a lot of work. So much fun. Hey,
- 24:41Speaker 2: long days when you do a five hour radio show.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And then you do a two hour concert on the
- 24:46Speaker 2: same day.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:48Speaker 8: You know, and I've got a couple of buddies that
- 24:50Speaker 8: actually tour like this is their life.
- 24:53Speaker 2: And I'm just like, man, this is so fun.
- 24:55Speaker 8: And I wonder what it feels like to not do
- 24:57Speaker 8: a five-hour radio show before it.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 24:59Speaker 6: Like you said, they sleep till lunch.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Right. And then they have their lunch. Then they mosey
- 25:05Speaker 1: on over for soundcheck.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Right, right, right.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Where we start the day before the sun comes up
- 25:10Speaker 6: and then limp into soundcheck.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Sure, sure.
- 25:14Speaker 6: And soundcheck this past time, we did the whole set
- 25:18Speaker 6: because we hadn't played in three weeks. I'd be okay
- 25:20Speaker 6: voice-wise if we didn't do that again.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. But we can do what we need to do.
- 25:28Speaker 7: Preserve your voice all week so we can get to
- 25:30Speaker 7: Friday night.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 25:32Speaker 2: It was really fun because I'm behind you on the drums.
- 25:34Speaker 8: It was really fun looking forward through you and Brody
- 25:39Speaker 8: and seeing the whole stage.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 8: And I'm just like, how cool is that? Rick getting
- 25:44Speaker 8: to work with his son in this way. Because Brody
- 25:47Speaker 8: was there with his production company filming as well. And
- 25:50Speaker 8: it was just that was just a really cool thing
- 25:51Speaker 8: to see.
- 25:52Speaker 6: I sent you a picture and email. I just did
- 25:55Speaker 6: a minute ago because, you know, our audience, they don't
- 25:57Speaker 6: miss anything. And that's y'all are so good to us.
- 26:01Speaker 6: I mean, I can't even there's I've tried to find
- 26:03Speaker 6: the right words. You never really can. But I actually
- 26:06Speaker 6: had people and they know the show so well. They
- 26:09Speaker 6: were like, look, you've told us about Brody.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 26:12Speaker 6: We know he doesn't like to be out in the spotlight.
- 26:14Speaker 6: He's a behind-the-scenes guy. But we took some pictures we
- 26:18Speaker 6: thought you might want anyway, watching him work a show.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Oh, Shadow.
- 26:22Speaker 6: Yeah, working with your uncle and working with your dad.
- 26:27Speaker 1: By the way, he's got quite the company and quite
- 26:29Speaker 1: the team.
- 26:30Speaker 7: It's very impressive. I caught one, too, of him in
- 26:33Speaker 7: front of you, Adler. That's pretty cool because it's got
- 26:37Speaker 7: the fog coming up. Um, but yeah, I talked to
- 26:40Speaker 7: him and, uh, Camtastic, his wife who runs the company,
- 26:44Speaker 7: helped run the company. And I said, before I went on,
- 26:47Speaker 7: I was standing there and you were on stage and
- 26:49Speaker 7: he was doing some stuff. I said, um, is this
- 26:52Speaker 7: kind of pretty cool? I was like, I, you don't
- 26:55Speaker 7: realize it, but I remember you, when you were down
- 26:56Speaker 7: to my knees running around and now you're kind of
- 27:00Speaker 7: filming your dad and, uh, and, and the show.
- 27:04Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, this is pretty cool.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Well, for him, like I told you, in the same
- 27:11Speaker 6: way with yours that are his same age, the older
- 27:14Speaker 6: kids remember the band. The younger kids do not because
- 27:19Speaker 6: they were toddlers. Brody says, I have no memory of this.
- 27:23Speaker 6: I saw the band in my life for the first
- 27:24Speaker 6: time in Montgomery. He said, because I'd never seen it.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:27Speaker 1: He said, I know I was around it, but I was,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you know, two years old. I didn't pay attention to it.
- 27:32Speaker 6: And, um, so, and then him getting to shoot and
- 27:35Speaker 6: then him sitting there behind there trying to prompt questions
- 27:37Speaker 6: and asking us questions.
- 27:38Speaker 3: And, and all of that.
- 27:40Speaker 6: And, and there's, there's a pretty funny moment when we,
- 27:42Speaker 6: we talk about now, will this be something that we
- 27:46Speaker 6: can make available to you? I don't know, because we
- 27:49Speaker 6: don't know what we got. So they'll have to sit down.
- 27:52Speaker 6: They'll have to see what they have. Is the audio
- 27:56Speaker 6: good enough? That, you know, audio and video working together,
- 27:59Speaker 6: it's not an easy thing to capture something like this.
- 28:02Speaker 6: So is it quality good enough? We'll see. I hope
- 28:08Speaker 6: it is because I know a lot of you were
- 28:09Speaker 6: hoping we would have something for all of you that
- 28:11Speaker 6: couldn't make the tour. Like I told you, we're trying to.
- 28:15Speaker 6: Brody's crew came down. You know, it's not a secret anymore.
- 28:18Speaker 1: All of you saw them.
- 28:19Speaker 6: They came down and they took it on and they
- 28:23Speaker 6: are attempting to grab it and edit something that if
- 28:27Speaker 6: you didn't get to go and you'll still.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Have a chance to watch it. I hope that works
- 28:33Speaker 1: out and hear it.
- 28:34Speaker 6: So if all the audio and the video come together
- 28:38Speaker 6: and the quality is good enough, then we'll do it.
- 28:40Speaker 6: If not, it might just be something that we keep
- 28:43Speaker 6: for ourselves or put a few clips on YouTube or something.
- 28:45Speaker 6: So hopefully it's the full-blown You can sit down and
- 28:50Speaker 6: watch the documentary and watch the show.
- 28:53Speaker 1: That's our plan. We hope so.
- 28:55Speaker 6: So that'll be kind of a little surprise. They've got
- 28:58Speaker 6: the video.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And the audio. They're working on it now. I should
- 29:01Speaker 1: get a report by the end of the tour. So
- 29:02Speaker 1: we'll see.
- 29:03Speaker 3: That's good.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Be cool if we got it.
- 29:05Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 1: We tried. Sure would. I know we captured the cool
- 29:08Speaker 1: things no matter what.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 6: But can it be a product where you go sit down,
- 29:13Speaker 6: get your popcorn out, put it on your TV at
- 29:16Speaker 6: home and say, I'm going to watch it?
- 29:17Speaker 1: We hope so. But nothing is quite like being there.
- 29:23Speaker 1: But hopefully we can get you as close as possible.
- 29:26Speaker 1: For those of you that this is just not possible
- 29:28Speaker 1: for you this year.
- 29:29Speaker 3: We'll be right back.
- 29:31Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 29:33Speaker 6: All right, November, I mean, it's coming at us fast
- 29:45Speaker 6: and control of Congress.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Hey, it's on the ballot. So between now and Election Day.
- 29:51Speaker 6: We're going to hear a whole lot of people telling
- 29:52Speaker 6: us what Americans think, what the latest poll means, and
- 29:55Speaker 6: what we're supposed to believe has happened across the country.
- 29:58Speaker 9: You know that.
- 29:58Speaker 6: Well, you don't have to just take somebody else's word
- 30:01Speaker 6: for it. Blaze Media just launched Poll Watch, a new
- 30:06Speaker 6: way to follow the midterms for yourself. You pick the state.
- 30:09Speaker 6: You follow the races you care about. You see where
- 30:11Speaker 6: they stand. You look at public polling behind the numbers.
- 30:15Speaker 6: And Poll Watch is included, by the way, if you're
- 30:18Speaker 6: a Blaze TV Plus subscriber. But there's another reason I
- 30:22Speaker 6: want to encourage you to join, not just this. If
- 30:25Speaker 6: you're watching or listening to this show, on YouTube, Spotify,
- 30:29Speaker 6: or somewhere else, or you're sitting through their ads, or just,
- 30:32Speaker 6: you know, to get the content you actually came for,
- 30:35Speaker 6: why don't you roll on over to Blaze TV +,
- 30:39Speaker 6: and you can watch the Rick Burgess show commercial free.
- 30:43Speaker 6: You get the show without any commercial interruption. You get
- 30:46Speaker 6: Pole Watch heading into November, and you get all the
- 30:49Speaker 6: other programming, which is fantastic, available on Blaze TV +.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Look, the most important reason to subscribe is this. It's
- 30:57Speaker 1: the best way you.
- 30:58Speaker 6: Can directly support what we're doing here, this show, what
- 31:02Speaker 6: we're doing. And if you value having a place where
- 31:05Speaker 6: we can talk openly about faith, family, culture, politics, things
- 31:08Speaker 6: happening in this country without pretending the things that don't
- 31:12Speaker 6: matter don't matter, your support's allowing us to continue to
- 31:17Speaker 6: do that. And this is one of the great ways
- 31:18Speaker 6: you can do that. So if you watch us, you
- 31:20Speaker 6: share our clips, you tell your friends about the show,
- 31:23Speaker 6: and you want us to keep doing this work, Crazy weekend.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Crazy weekend. We may hear from Dickie Nadmeyer. A lot
- 31:57Speaker 1: of you are asking.
- 31:58Speaker 6: It won't be early because I'm telling you, he's grieving.
- 32:03Speaker 6: For a minute, we thought Roll Tide Willie went back
- 32:05Speaker 6: to drinking again, but apparently he grabbed a non-alcoholic beer.
- 32:10Speaker 6: But I saw that video. Speaking of concerts, Ella Langley.
- 32:16Speaker 6: It doesn't get any bigger than Ella Langley.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Wow.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I mean, her. Good night. You're talking about huge, the
- 32:24Speaker 1: pride of Hope Hole, Alabama.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:27Speaker 6: So Ella Langley had to cancel a show in Tulsa, Oklahoma,
- 32:33Speaker 6: because there was a reported bomb threat.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Who wants to blow up a concert?
- 32:39Speaker 6: I can't imagine being 27 years old, and she actually
- 32:47Speaker 6: addressed it in Lubbock one day after she called off
- 32:50Speaker 6: the sold-out Friday night show in Tulsa.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Said I was put in charge.
- 32:56Speaker 6: Think about this, you're 27. I was put in charge
- 32:59Speaker 6: of a decision for 15,000 people, and I decided to
- 33:03Speaker 6: make the decision that I could not live with the
- 33:06Speaker 6: rest of my life. I could not take a chance
- 33:10Speaker 6: that this was a legitimate threat. When it comes to
- 33:14Speaker 6: keeping you safe and making sure that this show is
- 33:16Speaker 6: a safe place for us to come and enjoy music,
- 33:19Speaker 6: then that's what I have to do. But the second
- 33:22Speaker 6: it feels like it's not safe, then I'm not going
- 33:25Speaker 6: to do the concert.
- 33:26Speaker 1: It's not worth human life. It just isn't.
- 33:29Speaker 6: And I would have made yesterday's decision 10 billion times over.
- 33:33Speaker 6: I'll do it tomorrow and I'll do it the next day.
- 33:35Speaker 6: If I ever feel that you are in danger, the
- 33:39Speaker 6: safety of you outweighs my desire to perform. So I understand.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I know what a tough situation to be in. You know,
- 33:49Speaker 1: when they're going, all right, what do you want to do?
- 33:52Speaker 1: And you're 27 years old.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:55Speaker 1: And you know it's probably some crackpot, but you can't
- 33:58Speaker 1: risk it.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 1: That many people.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 1: So she said this was– she said, I do feel
- 34:06Speaker 1: like that, you know, I went back and forth. He said–
- 34:12Speaker 1: he said, but he said– She said she was talking
- 34:18Speaker 1: to and praying about it, and she said that I
- 34:23Speaker 1: can come back and perform after that because of my
- 34:25Speaker 1: faith in Christ and said it probably, if it had
- 34:30Speaker 1: not been for that, now she's talking about the next
- 34:32Speaker 1: show in Lubbock.
- 34:34Speaker 6: She said, I was so at one point afraid I
- 34:36Speaker 6: was ready to cancel this show too, but due to
- 34:39Speaker 6: my faith and praying about it, I felt like that
- 34:42Speaker 6: we were okay.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So there you go. I don't want to live in fear,
- 34:48Speaker 1: but I don't want to be dumb either.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 2: We're coming up on 10.
- 34:52Speaker 8: Years since the Ariana Grande concert.
- 34:57Speaker 2: If you all remember that one.
- 34:58Speaker 10: I do.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we covered it. May 22nd. They don't say like
- 35:01Speaker 1: 10 years.
- 35:02Speaker 2: 2017, May 22nd. Wow.
- 35:03Speaker 1: You're right, it doesn't.
- 35:06Speaker 2: It really doesn't. It was in the Manchester Arena.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Very sad.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:11Speaker 3: 22 people.
- 35:13Speaker 6: Yeah, so she said, you know, these crackpots, and I
- 35:16Speaker 6: know they do it for some sort of.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Jolly, but all of you said it. She said it.
- 35:20Speaker 1: You're 100% right. You make the wrong decision right there.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 6: Look, you can refund tickets, and you can find another
- 35:26Speaker 6: date to play, but if it goes south, you know,
- 35:31Speaker 6: then that's a whole.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Different kind of regret for the rest of your life.
- 35:34Speaker 1: That's it, yeah. On a much lighter note, Kelly Clarkson.
- 35:40Speaker 1: This has been hilarious.
- 35:41Speaker 10: Mm-hmm.
- 35:41Speaker 6: Kelly Clarkson said a store in Brooklyn treated her like
- 35:44Speaker 6: she had no money and were very rude to her.
- 35:47Speaker 6: She said, I felt like the movie Pretty Woman.
- 35:50Speaker 1: You remember when they didn't know?
- 35:53Speaker 6: She said, I drove all the way to Brooklyn to
- 35:55Speaker 6: check out a store I thought looked really, really rad.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Oh, rad.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Inside the biz. We use the word rad still. And
- 36:02Speaker 1: had a few things in mind to buy. And I
- 36:04Speaker 1: was looking.
- 36:05Speaker 6: I was all ready. And they started looking at me
- 36:07Speaker 6: when I came in as if I couldn't afford it.
- 36:10Speaker 6: And was told to find something that would be more
- 36:13Speaker 6: comparable for me.
- 36:14Speaker 7: Uh-huh.
- 36:15Speaker 1: When I went to look at the expensive items, I
- 36:16Speaker 1: was told that I was, you know, basically. You're in
- 36:18Speaker 1: your room. Why don't you go find you something else?
- 36:21Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Kelly Clarkson.
- 36:23Speaker 8: And.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I believe Kelly could cover it.
- 36:26Speaker 6: And she said, I thought to myself when I looked
- 36:28Speaker 6: at the person, you're an idiot.
- 36:31Speaker 1: And you just lost a huge sale.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Big mistake. Huge.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 1: So.
- 36:37Speaker 10: Hmm.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Can I talk a little bit about this?
- 36:40Speaker 1: Same thing happened to you.
- 36:42Speaker 8: She fired out that tweet saying, they looked at me
- 36:47Speaker 8: and they said, you know, you can't afford it. Maybe
- 36:49Speaker 8: we can find something that compares to that. It was
- 36:52Speaker 8: this bird that she wanted that was up on the wall.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:56Speaker 8: So she said, that was a huge mistake. I can't
- 36:58Speaker 8: believe you acted like I couldn't afford it.
- 37:00Speaker 2: The store, Art of Play, responded. Did y'all see this?
- 37:05Speaker 1: No, I just knew that's where she was.
- 37:07Speaker 9: Okay.
- 37:08Speaker 8: So the store responded a day or two later, and
- 37:11Speaker 8: they were like, well, unfortunately, you wanted this animatronic bird
- 37:15Speaker 8: on the wall that sings, and it was not for sale.
- 37:19Speaker 2: That item actually wasn't for sale.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 37:23Speaker 1: That's why they.
- 37:24Speaker 2: But then.
- 37:25Speaker 8: Kelly Clarkson responds a day later, and she says, actually,
- 37:30Speaker 8: there was a price.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Tag on it. It was $ 15, 000.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Which, hey, wow, expensive little bird.
- 37:35Speaker 1: That's a lot of birds.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Expensive animatronics.
- 37:37Speaker 1: That's a lot of birds. I don't care if I
- 37:39Speaker 1: got the money. I ain't buying no singing bird.
- 37:43Speaker 8: And Kelly Clarkson said, actually, y'all said to me, your
- 37:46Speaker 8: associate gave me elevator.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Eyes, which I had never heard that before.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Never heard elevator eyes.
- 37:50Speaker 2: You look them up and down.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I've been down elevated. I thought that was sexual harassment.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I did too, Greg. And so he was on the list. Right.
- 37:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 37:56Speaker 1: No, you're right, Greg.
- 37:57Speaker 3: You're right.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Elevator. Cause we were right at work. We were like,
- 38:00Speaker 1: what is that?
- 38:01Speaker 8: So the, the, the associate at the store says, well,
- 38:04Speaker 8: this costs $ 15, 000. So we can find you something else
- 38:07Speaker 8: just straight to the, you can't afford it, but we'll
- 38:09Speaker 8: find you something else.
- 38:11Speaker 2: And so now there's controversy. Was it for sale? Was
- 38:13Speaker 2: it for sale? Was it not?
- 38:15Speaker 1: Whose story is correct?
- 38:16Speaker 2: People are posting pictures of the bird.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Now the bird's famous.
- 38:21Speaker 8: With a price tag. You can see in the... I
- 38:24Speaker 8: think that's a price tag on that thing.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:26Speaker 8: So initially, the Art of Play place responded and said, hey,
- 38:29Speaker 8: it wasn't even for sale. That's not on us. Come
- 38:31Speaker 8: to our store, please, still. And it was like, oh,
- 38:33Speaker 8: Kelly Clarkson was being all sensitive.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Yep.
- 38:36Speaker 2: But wait a second.
- 38:37Speaker 1: They're... Wait, hold on. There's more to the story.
- 38:43Speaker 6: I tend to think that there is, I don't know
- 38:46Speaker 6: Kelly Clarkson as a person, but I'm just talking about.
- 38:48Speaker 1: You don't know Kelly. I really don't.
- 38:50Speaker 6: But when you have that kind of money and that
- 38:52Speaker 6: kind of success, when you go as far as to
- 38:54Speaker 6: post about it, I find it hard to believe that
- 38:58Speaker 6: she was trying to buy something that wasn't for sale.
- 39:01Speaker 6: I do not think she would have posted when they said, look,
- 39:04Speaker 6: that's not for sale.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Let's go find you something else.
- 39:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I don't think she would have posted that.
- 39:11Speaker 6: I think she posted it because it was clearly for
- 39:13Speaker 6: sale with a price tag on it, and they didn't
- 39:15Speaker 6: think she could afford it.
- 39:16Speaker 7: Right, because if the store would have said what they
- 39:20Speaker 7: said originally, hey, it's not for sale, if they would
- 39:23Speaker 7: have said that, hey, ma'am, it's not for sale, then
- 39:28Speaker 7: she could have said, well, no, I see a price
- 39:29Speaker 7: tag on it.
- 39:30Speaker 1: On it yeah and then they would have had that conversation.
- 39:32Speaker 6: Exactly i mean to me the store would have simply
- 39:35Speaker 6: not would have said if it wasn't for sale but
- 39:37Speaker 6: you said it's not for sale it's not for sale
- 39:38Speaker 6: i'm sorry that's not for sale that's that's a decoration
- 39:41Speaker 6: here we think is cool we're not selling it.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Right But according to her, that's not what they said. Yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 1: you wouldn't have posted about that. Right.
- 39:49Speaker 6: And if it's not for sale, why they didn't tell
- 39:51Speaker 6: her that doesn't make any sense.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 39:53Speaker 1: And so I tend to believe.
- 39:55Speaker 6: That Kelly's version seems more accurate.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Because that would, like you just said, it would have
- 40:06Speaker 1: ended the conversation immediately. Completely. Oh, yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 6: That is pretty cool. But unfortunately, we keep that in
- 40:11Speaker 6: the store. We're not selling that. But we've got some
- 40:13Speaker 6: other cool stuff you might like.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Here's the bird.
- 40:17Speaker 8: It's got like a crank down below that makes it
- 40:19Speaker 8: move and sing or something.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I don't know if that's worth $ 15, 000. That's worth $ 15, 000?
- 40:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I don't think it is.
- 40:25Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 40:33Speaker 6: If you're a podcast listener and you speed it up,
- 40:36Speaker 6: slow it down the week before you go to the
- 40:39Speaker 6: live show because everything's going to sound different.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I never even thought about that before.
- 40:44Speaker 6: To some people, the music and everything sounds different because
- 40:47Speaker 6: they're doing double the speed.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Didn't know people did that.
- 40:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I do that for some news podcasts that I
- 40:55Speaker 8: listen to.
- 40:56Speaker 2: They're just reading the news.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 40:58Speaker 8: And so their theme song is like one way at
- 41:00Speaker 8: normal speed and then a totally different song at fast speed.
- 41:03Speaker 2: But for all of the comedy.
- 41:06Speaker 8: Just talking podcasts that I listen to, it just throws
- 41:11Speaker 8: it off too much.
- 41:12Speaker 2: The comedic timing doesn't make sense.
- 41:13Speaker 8: So I don't do that unless it's just straight facts
- 41:17Speaker 8: being read.
- 41:17Speaker 6: Yeah, and I think maybe that's kind of what that
- 41:19Speaker 6: emailer was talking about because we do play a lot
- 41:21Speaker 6: of the theme music from the show. I think they're
- 41:24Speaker 6: really talking about the music. I think they might slow
- 41:26Speaker 6: it back down when we actually start talking.
- 41:28Speaker 12: Oh.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they're talking about, hey, the music's going
- 41:30Speaker 1: to sound.
- 41:30Speaker 9: Different to you.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Oh, gotcha.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Mysterious find beneath field. leads man to massive treasure hidden
- 41:40Speaker 1: for centuries.
- 41:41Speaker 6: Now, this is a good treasure. Well, this is on
- 41:43Speaker 6: the list of things that would never happen to me.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Never.
- 41:46Speaker 6: Under no circumstance am I ever going to be a
- 41:49Speaker 6: person that finds... Now, what I'm going to be, what
- 41:52Speaker 6: my life is normally like, is just when I think
- 41:55Speaker 6: I have money and we're ahead financially and you're about
- 41:59Speaker 6: to move something into savings, something breaks at the house
- 42:01Speaker 6: and takes every bit of it.
- 42:03Speaker 1: That's what happens to me.
- 42:05Speaker 3: So.
- 42:06Speaker 1: A man searching a German field with a metal detector. Oh,
- 42:11Speaker 1: the old metal detector. Make fun of him. Stumbled upon
- 42:13Speaker 1: a remarkable discovery. Are you ready? We say that a lot,
- 42:18Speaker 1: don't we?
- 42:18Speaker 3: I am, right?
- 42:19Speaker 6: He found not one, not two, not three, not 10,
- 42:23Speaker 6: not 20, not 50, not 100.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Nine hundred. and 34 ancient Roman silver coins.
- 42:33Speaker 9: Ooh.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Ooh. How many?
- 42:36Speaker 8: 934.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Make fun of that, Greg.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Hello.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Been there all this time.
- 42:41Speaker 6: They believe it's nearly 2,000 years old, and this one
- 42:46Speaker 6: could easily have been someone's life savings.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Yeah. So we're now- Slaying there. Buried them.
- 42:53Speaker 6: I'm looking to see if there's anybody who has valued
- 42:58Speaker 6: this yet. Because I don't know how the Roman silver
- 43:02Speaker 6: coins hold up. I mean, you can look and see
- 43:05Speaker 6: how much silver is worth. Yeah, but it being this old,
- 43:08Speaker 6: it's got to be worth more. They say it weighs
- 43:10Speaker 6: almost seven pounds.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Worth of silver.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Man.
- 43:15Speaker 6: Likely buried between 125 and 150 A.D.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Greg, I know you want to question that. Well, you know, whatever.
- 43:23Speaker 6: If you notice in Scripture, the word denarii, This is
- 43:28Speaker 6: a Roman silver denarii.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Wow.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Does it have Caesar's face on it or something?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Probably.
- 43:36Speaker 1: It said a Roman soldier would need six, seven, eight,
- 43:40Speaker 1: even more years than that to save that amount of money,
- 43:44Speaker 1: probably for his retirement. He must have got killed. Nobody
- 43:49Speaker 1: got him.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Well, Greg, maybe.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I don't know. But they said they usually made about
- 43:54Speaker 1: 300 denarii a year. Uh, so, uh, you know, that guy,
- 43:59Speaker 1: when it went off, he thought I was just a
- 44:00Speaker 1: bottle cap.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Oh, I know.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I never find anything good.
- 44:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I've looked this whole story. No one's valued it yet. Uh, yeah,
- 44:08Speaker 1: they have not. No, I sure would like to know
- 44:11Speaker 1: what is this? What is this worth? Anybody know?
- 44:13Speaker 6: You know, our audience, they know everything. Did any of
- 44:16Speaker 6: you guys, you know, of course, the first thing I
- 44:18Speaker 6: do is look at the X nation.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Um, I'm pretty savvy. I'm sitting here. It's not in
- 44:22Speaker 1: the story. I'll say.
- 44:23Speaker 8: Okay.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 6: That was one of the things, you know, when you're
- 44:27Speaker 6: sitting there, when we went to the ruins of Ephesus,
- 44:32Speaker 6: it was just mind blowing to look and see the
- 44:37Speaker 6: actual like pillar. And it would have Latin written on it,
- 44:43Speaker 6: like who the governor was at the time.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And, and then, you know, there was one that you
- 44:48Speaker 1: could see, it was a tribute to Caesar. You can
- 44:51Speaker 1: see the.
- 44:51Speaker 6: Original writing, um, something in there saying something referring to
- 44:58Speaker 6: Agrippa too and all that. It was, I mean, because
- 45:02Speaker 6: you can't believe what you're seeing and you can't believe
- 45:05Speaker 6: it's just been there. And like I say, the Romans,
- 45:09Speaker 6: they were incredible. Some of the things that they were
- 45:13Speaker 6: doing to heat water was then using that to heat
- 45:18Speaker 6: homes on the times it was cool there.
- 45:21Speaker 1: And they even.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Were on the road to giving you a private bathroom.
- 45:27Speaker 6: And I mean, like toilets, it was amazing how far
- 45:32Speaker 6: ahead they were of a lot of the, a lot
- 45:34Speaker 6: of the societies at the time, of course. Anyway, so
- 45:37Speaker 6: I don't know what, what this will be. Some people
- 45:39Speaker 6: are saying, all right, here we go. Uh, if it,
- 45:42Speaker 6: if it, if it's the exact emperor's featuring featured on there,
- 45:46Speaker 6: meaning you can see.
- 45:47Speaker 1: It and it's all that there that makes them rare.
- 45:50Speaker 6: I think 900 Roman denarii are worth anywhere from $ 45, 000
- 45:54Speaker 6: to over $ 180, 000 on the modern collector market.
- 45:59Speaker 1: See, I told you. Tex Nation knows. Yeah. I take that.
- 46:04Speaker 6: Did you know I ran into my first thing Saturday?
- 46:10Speaker 6: The cooking class, by the way, on the cruise came
- 46:12Speaker 6: back to haunt me Saturday.
- 46:14Speaker 1: How'd you have to cook? Sherry was like, let's cook
- 46:16Speaker 1: those things we learned how to cook. We had to
- 46:17Speaker 1: go out and get all the supplies.
- 46:18Speaker 3: I'm sorry, buddy.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. But it turned out to be delicious.
- 46:22Speaker 1: But going out and getting everything was.
- 46:24Speaker 6: You know, it was, we don't shop at the Asian
- 46:27Speaker 6: market that much. So when we went over there, I noticed,
- 46:32Speaker 6: of course, I parlayed that into a Chinese lunch, which
- 46:36Speaker 6: was fantastic because they have a restaurant there too. So
- 46:42Speaker 6: we were trying to get all the stuff. And I look,
- 46:44Speaker 6: and there it was, a sign up front. We no
- 46:46Speaker 6: longer take pennies. So please try to give us. If
- 46:51Speaker 6: you go cash, be sure you can give us something
- 46:53Speaker 6: that we can get you the right change.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Just do the best you can. Yeah, of course, I
- 46:58Speaker 1: had cards. I didn't care. But how about this? Our
- 47:00Speaker 1: first sign I saw said we don't take pennies. We're
- 47:03Speaker 1: going to talk about what was handed to Greg during
- 47:05Speaker 1: the meet and greet? Oh, yeah. You lost it, Greg.
- 47:10Speaker 1: A guy gave you a penny. And we didn't have
- 47:11Speaker 1: the right date on it.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Oh, it didn't?
- 47:13Speaker 1: No, he was just cracking a good one. He'd just
- 47:15Speaker 1: been funny.
- 47:16Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 47:17Speaker 1: So he didn't really have the year. But you did
- 47:18Speaker 1: get a penny. It's probably still in my pants. But
- 47:20Speaker 1: you did get a penny. Yes.
- 47:24Speaker 7: Yeah, a guy handed Greg a penny because he made
- 47:26Speaker 7: fun of Adler getting a penny.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but this didn't... I said, what's the year?
- 47:29Speaker 3: He goes, oh, I don't know. I said, well.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he was just doing a funny. Yeah. You
- 47:33Speaker 1: thought he really had it? Yeah, because I'm down the
- 47:36Speaker 1: table from you, so I couldn't see it. So I
- 47:38Speaker 1: didn't know. I did it first, but then... All right,
- 47:41Speaker 1: we'll be right back. I would have made a bigger
- 47:42Speaker 1: deal about it. Still to come, Dickie Nadmeyer on the
- 47:44Speaker 1: Bama loss.
- 47:45Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 47:54Speaker 6: Still to come, we will go unscreened phone calls, and
- 47:57Speaker 6: we should hear from Bama's biggest fan, Dickie Nadmeyer, the
- 48:03Speaker 6: voice of the Bama Nation.
- 48:06Speaker 1: And there's anger in Bama Nation.
- 48:09Speaker 11: Anger.
- 48:11Speaker 1: So we'll see how he's doing. I'm going to guess
- 48:14Speaker 1: not well.
- 48:15Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 48:18Speaker 6: This story over the weekend, and I've gone back and
- 48:20Speaker 6: forth on whether we're going to do it or not.
- 48:22Speaker 1: It's just so unnerving.
- 48:25Speaker 6: I just hate stuff like this. But a lot of
- 48:28Speaker 6: you know it was everywhere, all over social media, sadly.
- 48:32Speaker 6: It was sent to me so many times. That is
- 48:35Speaker 6: the York Shower Wildlife Park. during, is it Doncaster, England?
- 48:40Speaker 6: Am I saying that right? This is a refuge, obviously,
- 48:44Speaker 6: for tigers.
- 48:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Are these used to be people's pets or something?
- 48:50Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Is it just to keep tigers from not going extinct?
- 48:56Speaker 1: I will tell you, though. I think there's one of
- 48:58Speaker 1: them in Alabama that does that. Oh, thanks, Greg. That's
- 49:01Speaker 1: a comfort rescue after hearing this story.
- 49:03Speaker 2: They got good locks?
- 49:04Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 49:05Speaker 2: How are their locks?
- 49:06Speaker 1: Is it just tigers? It's a big cat.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Yeah, probably.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Somewhere in Alabama. For some reason, obviously, this is a
- 49:14Speaker 1: person that's troubled.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:17Speaker 6: Decided to go into this. enclosure where there was a tiger.
- 49:24Speaker 6: I think his name is A-M-U-R. He went in there
- 49:31Speaker 6: of his own free will. There you go. You may
- 49:35Speaker 6: be surprised at my comment on the final– ruling on
- 49:39Speaker 6: the tiger, he's not going to be euthanized.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I honestly agree with that. It's not really the tiger's fault.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:46Speaker 6: I mean, and because this person came into his world,
- 49:49Speaker 6: went in there. I don't like you were asking speedy.
- 49:54Speaker 6: It doesn't look like it's what you thought because he
- 49:58Speaker 6: seems to try to keep the tiger from attacking him.
- 50:01Speaker 6: So it doesn't really seem like it is suicide by predator.
- 50:06Speaker 6: Because he's trying to keep the tiger from biting him
- 50:08Speaker 6: like the tiger's just going to sit there and be
- 50:10Speaker 6: his friend or something.
- 50:11Speaker 1: By the way, Greg, tiger's for tomorrow in Alabama is
- 50:14Speaker 1: what you're thinking.
- 50:15Speaker 3: By the way, you're right.
- 50:16Speaker 1: I remember that. But the man has died. The tiger
- 50:19Speaker 1: did kill him.
- 50:20Speaker 7: And that was the news I learned today because what's
- 50:24Speaker 7: out on social media that I was watching, the video
- 50:27Speaker 7: obviously stops.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Well, and that's why.
- 50:29Speaker 7: And so it looks like. He's in there, and it's
- 50:32Speaker 7: like scratched his back and maybe bitten him on his shoulder.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Time to go.
- 50:36Speaker 7: Then he points at the tiger like you would your
- 50:39Speaker 7: dog or something.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Like, hey, stop it.
- 50:41Speaker 9: Like that.
- 50:42Speaker 1: You need to stop, you bad boy.
- 50:45Speaker 2: How dare you?
- 50:45Speaker 1: Yeah. What are you thinking? We're not dealing with a
- 50:49Speaker 1: tabby here.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 50:51Speaker 1: And then it stops.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Y'all want to watch it?
- 50:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Well, nothing. I mean, you don't see it. Is this
- 50:57Speaker 1: what I just described? It's the whole thing.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Biting his back. Biting his back.
- 51:02Speaker 3: He's got him there.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Biting his back.
- 51:03Speaker 5: Good.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Now, watch him point at him like he's a pet.
- 51:06Speaker 2: How dare you? Don't you ever think about that. And
- 51:11Speaker 2: for a second, the tiger's like, you know what? You
- 51:16Speaker 2: got a point. I'm ashamed of my behavior.
- 51:18Speaker 1: I shouldn't act that way.
- 51:19Speaker 2: But then the tiger's like, wait a second, I'm a tiger.
- 51:22Speaker 1: You're not.
- 51:24Speaker 2: And it's on.
- 51:25Speaker 6: They have said, and we've talked about this before on animals,
- 51:29Speaker 6: where does it get to the point where we have
- 51:31Speaker 6: no chance? All the experts in the animal world say
- 51:35Speaker 6: the odds of a human being not being killed by
- 51:39Speaker 6: a tiger who's got you is 1%.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 51:42Speaker 3: 1%.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Look at him.
- 51:44Speaker 6: Tiger at that point is looking around. That tiger's over
- 51:46Speaker 6: 200 pounds.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Man, bless his heart. And this guy just climbed in there.
- 51:52Speaker 6: They said that people were hollering at him. Of course,
- 51:54Speaker 6: people took the time to go ahead and run their phone,
- 51:57Speaker 6: but people were saying.
- 51:57Speaker 1: It actually got really good footage.
- 51:59Speaker 6: When he was trying to get in there, people were
- 52:01Speaker 6: begging him not to go in there, begging him to
- 52:03Speaker 6: get out.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Did he think he was going to have a moment
- 52:05Speaker 1: with the tiger and pet it?
- 52:07Speaker 6: You know, I kind of, right here, Dad, I love you.
- 52:10Speaker 6: I know this probably doesn't concern you anymore, but I
- 52:14Speaker 6: will tell you that dad used to blame Walt Disney
- 52:16Speaker 6: for this.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because of humanized animals.
- 52:19Speaker 6: He said that Disney and them humanized animals and people
- 52:22Speaker 6: think animals are like.
- 52:23Speaker 1: That and they're not. They're little cartoons.
- 52:26Speaker 6: So obviously he has some issues and some people were
- 52:29Speaker 6: saying that he's in the autism spectrum.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure about that, but some people are saying that.
- 52:33Speaker 10: Wow.
- 52:34Speaker 6: And that he couldn't hear or whatever.
- 52:36Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 52:38Speaker 6: But why is somebody not watching him? Doesn't he need
- 52:41Speaker 6: somebody with him if he can't make these kind of decisions?
- 52:43Speaker 8: I read that he was listening to music and having
- 52:46Speaker 8: fun watching the Tigers, asking people even, hey, can you
- 52:48Speaker 8: take my picture with the Tigers in the background before
- 52:51Speaker 8: this happens?
- 52:51Speaker 1: I guess he wanted a closer picture. I don't know.
- 52:54Speaker 1: I don't like these. I've checked these out. Here, let
- 52:56Speaker 1: me get down in there and take a selfie. So
- 52:58Speaker 1: there's all kinds of things that you've got to watch.
- 53:00Speaker 6: I mean, we don't know. That may not be credible.
- 53:02Speaker 6: He might have just been– Well, he's clearly disturbed. Here's
- 53:07Speaker 6: what we don't need anybody to tell us. That's not
- 53:09Speaker 6: normal behavior.
- 53:09Speaker 1: And let me tell you this. Not a good idea.
- 53:12Speaker 1: When you go to these places, those fences, they're there
- 53:15Speaker 1: for a reason.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Yeah, they are.
- 53:17Speaker 6: Guys, the tiger on all the things that we face
- 53:20Speaker 6: as humans, I mean, he's in.
- 53:23Speaker 1: The top two.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:25Speaker 6: You don't want tigers are kind of like the polar
- 53:28Speaker 6: bears of bears, I mean, of big cats. You know,
- 53:31Speaker 6: the polar bear says, no, I will eat a human.
- 53:34Speaker 6: I'm not saying you have to do anything to me.
- 53:36Speaker 6: I'll hunt you down. A tiger will hunt down a
- 53:38Speaker 6: human and kill them. They're easier to catch than seals.
- 53:41Speaker 7: So to echo what Adler said, this is a witness
- 53:44Speaker 7: that was there, said that the young man, who they
- 53:48Speaker 7: say is.
- 53:49Speaker 1: 22, I guess. Was 22.
- 53:51Speaker 7: Was 22. They saw him on the bridge. He had
- 53:55Speaker 7: ear pods in, and he was dancing. He seemed happy,
- 53:59Speaker 7: enjoying himself, seeing the tiger.
- 54:02Speaker 2: He asked.
- 54:03Speaker 7: one of us to take a picture of him with
- 54:05Speaker 7: the tiger in the background another another visitor who didn't
- 54:09Speaker 7: want to be identified told news that it was frightening
- 54:12Speaker 7: and confusing as you can imagine but he didn't seem
- 54:16Speaker 7: bothered he just seemed happy like he was having a
- 54:19Speaker 7: good time.
- 54:19Speaker 1: So there you go next thing you know he's in
- 54:20Speaker 1: the cage.
- 54:21Speaker 7: Yeah and they said that the scariest part out of
- 54:24Speaker 7: all of this was we all knew what was about
- 54:26Speaker 7: to happen and we couldn't do anything about it helpless.
- 54:29Speaker 6: Because i got news for you I don't think anybody,
- 54:32Speaker 6: it wouldn't be wise for anybody to say, I'll go
- 54:34Speaker 6: over the fence and see.
- 54:35Speaker 1: What I can do. The workers in the khaki clothes.
- 54:39Speaker 6: They said when they finally got there, they shot a
- 54:42Speaker 6: couple of times and the tiger finally ran.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Off, but it was too late. They stopped the recording,
- 54:49Speaker 1: but eventually one of his kill moves. Did it.
- 54:54Speaker 3: Did it.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Was effective.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 54:57Speaker 6: Human beings have a 1% chance against a tiger. People
- 55:01Speaker 6: are texting, Rick, could you take a tiger? No, I
- 55:03Speaker 6: could not take a tiger. I mean, maybe a small one,
- 55:05Speaker 6: but I mean, great, great.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Maybe a female. Maybe between cub and a dog. No,
- 55:11Speaker 1: I could not. So that's awful. What is that? That's
- 55:16Speaker 1: a tiger.
- 55:20Speaker 2: That's you.
- 55:20Speaker 1: That's you being a tiger. Pretty close. Being a tiger.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Pretty close.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Tiger bite.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Oh, are you going there?
- 55:28Speaker 2: You know how hard we can bite, right?
- 55:30Speaker 3: We bite pretty hard.
- 55:31Speaker 2: We bite pretty hard, right?
- 55:32Speaker 13: Yeah, sure.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Think about as hard as a person can bite, okay?
- 55:35Speaker 1: Trust me. I know that.
- 55:36Speaker 8: That's around, say, 120 to 150 PSI, pounds per square inch.
- 55:43Speaker 8: Tigers are 10 times that.
- 55:47Speaker 3: With?
- 55:49Speaker 8: With three, four-inch fangs. They've got their broad skulls and
- 55:55Speaker 8: their large jaw muscles ten times. I didn't think it
- 55:59Speaker 8: would be ten times.
- 56:00Speaker 6: And think about how quickly they can swap you two
- 56:02Speaker 6: with the claws and pull you back in if you
- 56:04Speaker 6: try to run.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Of course, they can run you down, but they can
- 56:06Speaker 1: just grab you.
- 56:06Speaker 3: And pull you back in. All right.
- 56:10Speaker 1: That scared me.
- 56:11Speaker 2: That scared me again. Yeah, that's... That's not what you
- 56:14Speaker 2: want to hear.
- 56:14Speaker 6: That's a bad story, and it sounds like that, you know,
- 56:17Speaker 6: some of the other things people are saying about it
- 56:19Speaker 6: may not be true, so I don't know.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:22Speaker 6: Horrible, horrible thing. But the tiger, they're saying, look, we're
- 56:24Speaker 6: not going to euthanize the tiger. If you climb in
- 56:28Speaker 6: a tiger's area, that's kind of on you.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Unscreened phone calls. Unscreened phone calls coming up next.
- 56:38Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 56:41Speaker 6: A lot of you have been waiting, and not surprisingly,
- 56:51Speaker 6: Waiting to see if we would talk to Dickie Knapmeyer
- 56:55Speaker 6: today after the Bama-Georgia game.
- 56:58Speaker 1: And Speedy?
- 57:00Speaker 10: Yes.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Well, well, well.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Dickie, are you there, bud?
- 57:19Speaker 3: Hello, Jed.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 57:22Speaker 1: How are you?
- 57:23Speaker 3: Oh, your voice hurting?
- 57:27Speaker 9: Wow.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Well, I've been screaming injustice. Cheating.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Cheating?
- 57:36Speaker 3: Well, it's obvious to me that Kirby and the Bulldogs
- 57:40Speaker 3: are getting paid on the side.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 57:43Speaker 3: The officials are taking money. I mean, how else do
- 57:46Speaker 3: you explain what we saw? We all plainly saw it.
- 57:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 57:52Speaker 1: That end zone play, to me, looked like a pretty
- 57:53Speaker 1: good play. Greg Burgess. I mean, he was right there.
- 57:56Speaker 3: That's typical coming from an Albee. That's about the only
- 57:59Speaker 3: way y'all can stop anybody, by cheating.
- 58:02Speaker 2: I had no issue with it.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I bet you did. That was a great call, didn't it?
- 58:05Speaker 3: I bet you did. Wait a minute. Are we hearing
- 58:07Speaker 3: from the long-haired Albee?
- 58:10Speaker 1: He is a showing-off Albee. I mean, he graduated from that.
- 58:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Well, that shows you how complicated that is.
- 58:16Speaker 3: This guy graduated.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Right, right, right. Well, I know this sounds crazy, but.
- 58:22Speaker 3: We graduated a homeless man.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 58:27Speaker 1: I know this sounds crazy, but Ohio State over here
- 58:29Speaker 1: has got to agree with you. I screamed at the TV,
- 58:32Speaker 1: what in the world? I mean, how in the world
- 58:35Speaker 1: was that missed? How they missed it. So what was
- 58:39Speaker 1: your reaction? I mean, were y'all in disbelief? What was
- 58:42Speaker 1: the stadium like?
- 58:44Speaker 3: Well, as soon as it happened, I said, well, good,
- 58:46Speaker 3: we get to extend the drive. We can come back
- 58:48Speaker 3: and overcome a bunch of idiotic things that the board did.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Last week, we had a whole different
- 58:56Speaker 1: view of DeBoer.
- 58:59Speaker 3: My view on him has never changed. It's a mistake.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Actually, I've seen him with a little bit of emotion,
- 59:06Speaker 1: which is nice.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he got mad.
- 59:07Speaker 1: He got really upset. Well, he had a lot of
- 59:08Speaker 1: things to be mad about.
- 59:10Speaker 9: He did.
- 59:10Speaker 3: Well, let me ask you a question, okay? Let's just
- 59:12Speaker 3: get down to it. Okay. Do you believe that bonehead
- 59:17Speaker 3: personal foul at the end of the game would have
- 59:19Speaker 3: happened under Saban?
- 59:21Speaker 1: I'll give you that. Hmm. You may be right there.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Suddenly Dickie's got the courtroom here.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe I got to give you credit on
- 59:28Speaker 1: that one.
- 59:29Speaker 3: You're going to tell me a player's going to do
- 59:30Speaker 3: something that stupid in front of Saban?
- 59:32Speaker 1: Boy, can you imagine? I mean, DeBoer jumped him. Can
- 59:34Speaker 1: you imagine what Saban would have done?
- 59:37Speaker 3: Well, you know why we make mistakes like that, don't you, Greg?
- 59:39Speaker 3: Speedy and Adler.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 59:41Speaker 3: Because Coach DeBoer's more fun.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Oh.
- 59:45Speaker 3: He's more fun. He's not hard. He's like one of us.
- 59:49Speaker 3: He's our pal. Mm-hmm. Road Tide.
- 59:52Speaker 1: I could have swore he was bragging. He was. He
- 59:57Speaker 1: was bragging. What was that, bud?
- 59:59Speaker 3: Everybody happy right now? Who's having fun?
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Well, look. You know the rematch is coming back. Yeah.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: That was two really good teams.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: I don't know. I believe the Tide's on a bad night.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: We're going to go up there to Rocky Top. It's
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: going to get bad. Oh, no. Well, Greg, have you
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: ever tried to play against the SEC schedule and the referees?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: No, I have not. That is tough. But, I mean,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: you're right. I mean, it never ends. So now you
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: go to Knoxville. Yeah. They just hit Cubs.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Well, here's good news. Have you seen what the SEC
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: put out about the officiating a few moments ago? No,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: What'd they say, bud? Hell of a job.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Well, we apologize to Bama fans because we have a
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: bunch of officials and a bunch of idiots that blew
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: the call.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: That's what they said. That was their official statement on
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: this problem? That was the statement.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Hey, if you want to make it up to us,
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: let's get back out there on the field, give us
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: a first down, see if we can still go and
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: tie this thing up and win it with a TD.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: That's how you can make me happy. And I don't
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: know about this key line.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: You don't know about him.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I don't know about Keyline.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Okay. I'm just not going to even try to correct you.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Go ahead. What don't you know about him?
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Let me tell you what Keyline's good against. Bad defenses.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: He's a different player when somebody gets after him a
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: little bit. Of course, it took somebody from the Saban
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: area to get it done.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: You knew there was a tie there. Right.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Well. You know what I'm doing? I'm just going to
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: go back and watch the Saban A series error and
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: just gave me a cry.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: How do you like it?
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I love every minute of it because all we did
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: was win.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: You lived it. How do you feel about Gunner Stockton
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: for Georgia?
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: Well, look at little Gunner. We made him look like
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: an All-American. Because we ain't disciplined because we want to
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: have fun.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: How fun is that? We want to have fun. He
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: always goes, of course, he left that out last week.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: He did.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: He did when he was praising him.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I was saying I thought the team looked good.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: I didn't give any credit to the coaching staff. Oh, okay.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: All I can think about is what Saban would do
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: with his team.
- 1:02:12Speaker 11: Oh, well.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: There wouldn't be none of this.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: You're probably right.
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: What did you think of that helmet-to-helmet hit on Ryan Coleman-Williams?
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that was that.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: How can that not be a targeting call?
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm so confused on targeting.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I mean, the man don't even know who his kids are.
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: Oh, my.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: That's a good one. He didn't even recognize him.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Did he? Let me tell you why he was playing better.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: He had finally turned it around. He was playing better.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: You know why? He got married.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: He got married?
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Well, next thing you know, you'd rather be at practice.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Oh, I see what you're talking about.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: You go home, your old lady's riding you. Hey, your
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: old lady's riding you. You'll go out there and run
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: a few more outs.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Roadside.
- 1:03:03Speaker 8: It seemed like they missed a face mask on EJ
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: Crowell as well.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: They did.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: When his helmet came off.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Those were the three biggies there.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Oh, we're not going to talk about the interception? They
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: clearly got his hands up.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Oh, hands up. They overturned it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they did.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Anybody that don't believe that the referees cheat against Bama,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: you just an idiot. I mean, we could all see
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: it was right before us. It's like somebody saying, well,
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: I don't believe it's raining. You know what? You're standing
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: there soaking wet.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Right. It's obvious, huh? Is that what you're telling me?
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I mean, cheat, cheat, cheat, cheat.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Those were some big moments that kind of turned, no
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: pun intended.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: If I was a Georgia fan, I couldn't even celebrate
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: this victory.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: You couldn't?
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: I was about to cheat. You know you don't deserve it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: You know you didn't beat us straight up.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: Well, how do you feel, I mean, I know Auburn
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: fans probably enjoy the win, but now they have to
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: play Georgia.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Well, Auburn only gets to beat Bama, you know, precariously
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: to other people. Okay.
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I'm not sure what that word was.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: No, sure.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. They play at Georgia
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: 230 Central on ESPN Saturday.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Well, good luck, little Aubie, with Georgia. Georgia can beat
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Auburn without a referee streak. They can't beat Bama.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Yeah, they can go ahead.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Do you have a score prediction for that game?
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: Oh, man. I believe Georgia will beat Auburn 59-6.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: 59-6.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Could be right, honestly.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Honestly, maybe.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: Road tied.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: 59-6. So you all go. At the same time, you're
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: in Knoxville, ABC, 2.30 p.m. Central, Alabama and Tennessee, Knoxville.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Well, let me tell you something. I've got the RV
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: pointed to Knoxville, and I'm coming to fight.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: You're coming to fight. You're coming to fight. You ain't
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: putting up with it no more. Yeah.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I'm so mad I'm wearing a shirt that has something
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: off-color about Dolly Parton on it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: Well, I was going to ask you, are you going
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: to stop off at Pigeon Forge and go.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Maybe to Dollywood?
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: No, no, I don't do any of that.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: You don't?
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: No, I hate that place.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: You hate the place?
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: That's where Tennessee fans are.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I think people come from all around.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I don't know if Dollywood is exclusive to Tennessee fans,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Did you not see Dolly go to one of the games?
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: She didn't come to an Obama game.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: Well, that's true.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: We got Dolly on our helmet. We got Dolly on
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: our helmet. Yeah. I thought they should have put it
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: across their chest. Roll Tide.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Roll Tide, Dickie.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Roll Tide, buddy.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Roll Tide.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Now, Adler, you went to Dollywood. Did you see more
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: than just Tennessee fans there?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. It's open to all people.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: But the name, it's run by Tennessee people.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Well, it's in Tennessee.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: It is in Tennessee.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I don't do anything for Tennessee. Don't vacation there. Don't
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: go there. I don't do anything in Tennessee.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Okay. That's it. What's next?
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Y'all want me to go to a amusement park in Auburn?
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Well, okay.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Roll Tide.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Maybe a water park.
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: Did you talk to Chad in Roll Tide, Willie? I
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: understand he kind of went berserk, too.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: He was upset.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Well, I mean, first of all, If y'all think Willie
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: ain't drinking again, you also think the referees don't cheat.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: It was non-alcoholic.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: That's what they put on the video. As soon as
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: that video was over, he was at the gym beam.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah, well, after that loss, you may be right. I
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: know I was. You were. Okay.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: You think I didn't get in that dark water?
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: How does the family fare after a loss with you?
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Sadness.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Sadness? Okay.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: Everybody stays away from daddy. Everybody knows him better.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Leave him alone.
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: But are they just upset, or are they just scared
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: of you?
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Well, they've been raised in it. They know that this
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: is one of the things we do together as a family.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: We're sad together. We hate losses together. We hate Tennessee together.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: We hate Auburn. We hate Georgia. We don't like Kirby
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Smarty anymore. We do that together. You know, you've got
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: to spend time with your family.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Family time. Family time is important.
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Well, we'd love to hear from you after Knoxville and
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: see how that goes. Maybe we can bounce back real quick.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you what. Anybody that pops up
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: to me, they got trouble.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: So you ain't putting up with it?
- 1:07:31Speaker 10: Nope.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: I got a bad attitude going to Knoxville. Really? First
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: thing I'm going to do is kick Smokey right in
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: the ribs.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Pro time.
- 1:07:41Speaker 14: All right.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Dad buyer out. Yeah, out.
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Show.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: So as we start this hour, as we were telling
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: you going in, there is a fake AI-generated SEC official
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: statement on the Bama-Georgia game.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: So that is not real.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: And somebody needs to get that word to Dickie, too.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: But there probably will be something at some point that
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: will come out that will be probably similar.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: But it's not going to change anything, so what does
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: it matter?
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: So as we start this hour, we now want to
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: get into some other issues. We'll do unscreened phone calls
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: before we're done as well. We'll get another one of
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: those in before.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: The show's over. So let's go to video four.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Now, we have been telling you about this guy, James Tallarico,
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: in Texas. We've acknowledged that the Republican opponent has not
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: done much to help himself either. But Tallarico is just bizarre.
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: I mean, it is far, far left. Things he says
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: spiritually are... I mean, they've made it onto Strange Encounters.
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: They're so demonic and weird.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: But.
- 1:08:59Speaker 6: today he gets a ringing endorsement from Willie Nelson. That's nice.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: I'm not sure that Willie's the one we look for
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: to be the moral police. But here is Willie endorsing
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: James Tallarico. And he basically says he's gotten to know him.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: And he's a good man. All right. So let's hear
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: from Willie.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Looking good, Willie. Hey, Willie.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Hi, this is Willie Nelson.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Hey, buddy.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I've gotten to know James Tallarico.
- 1:09:27Speaker 9: He's a good man. Will be a good senator for
- 1:09:30Speaker 9: the state of Texas.
- 1:09:31Speaker 15: Please vote and vote for James Tallarico.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Click the link and James.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: No, boy.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Well, does anybody really care?
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: He added, I'm not Willie Nelson.
- 1:09:43Speaker 12: Oh, that's so good.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: So, Willie. I don't know if Willie knew who he
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: was talking about. No.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: And I'm sure that Willie has vetted him out, really,
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: to the core. I'm sure that he's really studied. And
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: one thing, the one person I want to hear from
- 1:10:05Speaker 6: about the direction of our country is Willie Nelson.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Absolutely, Rick. He's traveled it. Yeah, wearing the shirt, Willie's
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: reserve on it. I'm sure Willie's really kept up about it,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: you know, as far as the politics.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Willie is actually
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: endorsing somebody else. He didn't even have the right person.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: That's probably true. You know, somebody said, hey, that's not
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: how you think you're talking about.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: I heard he was going to legalize weed, so vote
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: for James Tallarico.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Of course, I legalized it years ago. And then you
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: go to the other end.
- 1:10:38Speaker 6: You look at the President Trump rally for the midterm elections.
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: We have Mike Tyson and we have Kid Rock. So
- 1:10:49Speaker 6: Mike Tyson was short and sweet.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I was uncomfortable as he walked up. Was it Aquarius?
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: I want to talk about Donald Trump. I'm endorsing Donald Trump.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: So here's Mike Tyson. This is a good thing.
- 1:11:03Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Does he have influence? Thank you. Thank you very much.
- 1:11:12Speaker 13: I'm just happy to be up here with my president,
- 1:11:14Speaker 13: President Trump.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: There's no way in the world I would ever be
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: here if it wasn't for a president like Donald Trump.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Thank you. President Trump.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Thank you very much. President Trump.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: And that was that.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: And that'll do it.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: I don't want to fight him.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: No, you don't.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: He's a convicted felon.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: His head is so big. Tyson's head is just... It's large.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: It's my president's. Man, I'm about to get told about
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: my president.
- 1:11:44Speaker 6: I saw a great statement, though, from Tyson, I guess
- 1:11:46Speaker 6: because he did this. Now people are interviewing about different stuff.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: And they asked him, you know, who was the greatest
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: fighter of all time? Could you be considered that? And
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: he said, well, I think he said I was the
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: most glorious. I think he used that word. He said
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: aggressive and, you know, basically an animal. He said, however...
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: Muhammad was, Ali was very good at taming animals.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Yeah. And he said with his skills and his ability
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: to actually box, he said, so even people like me
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: charging Muhammad, he was very good at winning.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: Hard to hit.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: And hard to hit.
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: And his quote was, but he was very good at
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: taming animals. So he said, Ali's the best of all time.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Wow. And it's hard to argue that. Kid Rock, do
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: we want to hear Kid Rock? What's he got? Did
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: he have an Alabama hat on?
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: He did.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: He did.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: He was wearing an Alabama hat. I don't know if
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: he does here, but I saw him being interviewed over
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: the weekend with one on.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: Yes, I did.
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: So here's Kid Rock at the Trump rally, and he's
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: going to declare that fake news is public enemy number one.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: I brought some notes.
- 1:12:52Speaker 15: It's an honor to introduce a man who can turn
- 1:12:56Speaker 15: a five-minute appearance into a full-on outbreak Of TDS syndrome.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Hey, Speedy, did I send you this or did you
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: send me this? Because I don't.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I didn't send you this.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Okay, then I don't know if this is clean. I'm
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: so scared right now. Everything he just said, I was.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Oh, no, he's singing religious songs now.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: He's released a Christian song. I'm sure it'll be fine.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Because I have not screened this. I'm so afraid right now.
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: I might have sent you one where he was leaned
- 1:13:22Speaker 7: up against the doorframe or something, talking in an Alabama hat.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Okay, let me find that real quick.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I don't know it.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: I'm so sorry, you guys.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: We've sent each other so many things. I don't know.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: I think I had like... 17 or something like that.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry. Every time I send you one, I'm like,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: what a bip I am. No, no, no.
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: It's great, and it's helpful, and I'm so sorry, guys.
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: I got so scared. I'm like, what is he going
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: to start out with?
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't even know if I sent you that.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: All right, well, then let's do this while we have this. Oh,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: there's the guy on the tiger again. Let's go to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: 2A and B. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I got it, Speedy.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Bama hat, Bama hat. And this is on Fox News,
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: so it should be clean.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: All right. Here's Kid Rock and Obama.
- 1:14:00Speaker 14: I was born in Dearborn, Michigan.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: So was my father.
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: Raised there.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: My grandfather raised him there.
- 1:14:05Speaker 14: And as we know, I don't know if people understand
- 1:14:08Speaker 14: how it got to be one of the biggest Arab
- 1:14:09Speaker 14: populations outside of the Middle East and the world.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Didn't know he was from Dearborn.
- 1:14:12Speaker 14: I call it more of a religious ideology. I know
- 1:14:16Speaker 14: there's extremists and there's milder versions of it. I don't
- 1:14:19Speaker 14: want to see my grandkids one day have to fight
- 1:14:21Speaker 14: some civil war over religious ideology.
- 1:14:25Speaker 9: This is scary.
- 1:14:25Speaker 14: I think Al Saeed's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Okay, he's right about all that. He is right about
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: all that, no doubt. And he does seem to be
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: more calm and thinking and wearing the Bama hat the
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: whole time and not realizing what was going to happen.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Do y'all remember, first of all, let's do 2B first
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: and then 2A. Because I saw this, and I know, Greg,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: how you feel about this, you too, Speedy and Adler.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: This is Robert Ray saying, fox weather reporter oh yeah.
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: And and this thing where they go out and try
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: to show us how hard the wind's blowing and they
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: brace in the wind but please please look at this and.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: This is so and the guy just walks behind him.
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: Listen yeah but i love he ends it he goes
- 1:15:15Speaker 7: well well at least for me.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: Because if I'm not mistaken, maybe it was after this
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: or before.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: One time he's sitting there like bracing.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Like putting his base down like he can't, he's almost gone.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: He's leaning into it.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: He is.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Like a power stance, like a rock star.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: You remember the ones that were in the boat that
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: time and people walked behind him and it was ankle deep?
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: But Greg, if you remember President Biden. Oh yeah, you
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: remember this? President Biden, we'll go back to his years,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: hard to do, when he warned.
- 1:16:12Speaker 6: Us about how we should prepare for hurricanes.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Have you remember this one? You're going to love this.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: So this was his advice to us about hurricanes.
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: If you're in a state where hurricanes often strike, like
- 1:16:26Speaker 11: Florida or the Gulf Coast or into Texas, a vital
- 1:16:30Speaker 11: part of preparing for hurricane season is to get vaccinated now.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: What an idiot.
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Is there a vaccine against hurricane damage?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Your house won't be damaged. Greg, you know why this
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: house wasn't damaged, don't you? You got vaccinated. Crazy. I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: don't know how they.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I miss him so much. For hurricane season? We'll be back.
- 1:17:02Speaker 6: More of the Rick Burgess show coming up right after this.
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: You know, I've heard of father-son outings, okay? A little
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: outrage in Colorado. A little outrage. A dad helped his
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: son become the youngest person ever to reach the top
- 1:17:28Speaker 6: of Yosemite's El Capitan.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Oh, El Capitan. That thing's pretty deep. They have reported
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: the dad. To Child Protective Services. Here's the story.
- 1:17:41Speaker 10: This morning, the Colorado dad who climbed Yosemite's El Capitan
- 1:17:45Speaker 10: with his seven-year-old son is speaking out, revealing someone called
- 1:17:49Speaker 10: Child Protective Services to question his parenting abilities. It was
- 1:17:53Speaker 10: back in May when his son Joey set a record
- 1:17:56Speaker 10: previously held by his nine-year-old brother.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: It's nice and easy.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Looking good.
- 1:18:02Speaker 10: El Capitan is recognized as the world's largest granite cliff,
- 1:18:05Speaker 10: rising 7,573 feet. Say, I'm going to the moon. I'm
- 1:18:07Speaker 10: going to the moon! But not everyone was celebrating the
- 1:18:16Speaker 10: father and son achievement. Joe Evermore is now revealing child
- 1:18:20Speaker 10: protective services received.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: Multiple complaints, claiming.
- 1:18:23Speaker 10: He and his wife were putting their son in danger.
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: Evermore telling People magazine, there's people that think, hey, your
- 1:18:30Speaker 10: kids would be better put in a foster system or
- 1:18:33Speaker 10: put in front of a television rather than training daily
- 1:18:36Speaker 10: for an epic mission. He says people who take issue
- 1:18:39Speaker 10: with the danger involved do not have a background in climbing.
- 1:18:42Speaker 10: Evermore saying, There are risks, but I think the benefits
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: far outweigh the risks. As a dad, I'm mitigating those
- 1:18:49Speaker 10: risks with a team with good preparation and with our
- 1:18:52Speaker 10: own skill and our own training.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: Breaking the record is really cool and doing.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: An impossible thing with my family means more with my.
- 1:19:02Speaker 10: Dad up there. In the end, CPS declined to pursue
- 1:19:05Speaker 10: the complaint.
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: You know what's so sad? And I bet every one
- 1:19:10Speaker 6: of you are thinking this. This guy's getting turned in,
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: child protective, got all the Karens out there. But if
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: that child wanted to transition to be a little girl,
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: everybody would applaud a parent who actually went through with that.
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: That's good. They would endorse that before they would endorse
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: what we just saw. Now, I don't sit here and
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: act like that. I mean, I don't know about that.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I mean, these kids don't need to be taken from them, obviously.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: No.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: But, I mean, he knows more about the climate and
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: all this, I guess. I mean, that's it. And, you know,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: if you notice in the past decade or so, we
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: all think it's sharp when we take our kids when
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: they're like three and make them do something that maybe
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: a 12-year-old does. Yeah. You know, that's become the thing. Right.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: They can't even hold the rifle and they got a
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: big deer on the field or they can't even hold
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: it up. Sure.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: And we got a lot of that. But, I mean,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: the guy, the child services, that's ridiculous. Yeah, it looks
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: like to me that, and he said that. But I
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: don't think it's a great idea to do that either, though.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: Seven-year-old climbing El Capitan. Is there not a smaller one
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: he could climb?
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: Well, he did.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I think he's already conquered all those.
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: But I think that dad is saying, we know what
- 1:20:12Speaker 6: we're doing. We understand the equipment. There's a team working
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: with us. We practice this every day. And my sons
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: are getting to have a thrill versus sitting in front
- 1:20:23Speaker 6: of an iPad or a video game, you know, and I'm,
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: I'm sorry, I think this is better for them.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: You know, I mean, I don't understand because I don't
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: do that.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: No.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I don't know the risk involved. I know that's pretty steep.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: It's this world-renowned challenge for people to do it.
- 1:20:43Speaker 6: Of course, it feels a little different if you do
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: it and you thought you did something.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Now seven years ago. He's kind of taken away. Let
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: me tell you who's mad. All the others have climbed
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: it before and thought they were sharp. Greg, and he
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: broke the record of who? A nine-year-old?
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: I know he just did something I couldn't do.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: And don't want to. I don't have any training in it,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: but I don't know that I can take that.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Don't want to.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: I think if I was that small, though, I'd have
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: a better chance. Yeah.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: You know what? Maybe. Okay. That's right.
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: I think it kind of hurt his case when the
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: kid goes, waking the weckled was really, really, really fun.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he sounded like a little boy. You wish the
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: kid could speak better.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: He needs to say his R's. Let's work on that, too.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: Climbing El Capitan good, saying your R's also important.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: I like speed.
- 1:21:22Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: But you're right.
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: Just when you want the kid to sound older and ready—
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: He throws them alls out there.
- 1:21:28Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: We'll have a good time. We'll have a good time
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: breaking records. Right.
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: I'm just now potty trained, but yeah, we're good. Potty
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: trained on Tuesday, El Capitan on Thursday.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:21:41Speaker 6: No, I mean, I understand, but the hypocrisy of everybody
- 1:21:46Speaker 6: thinking things like, you know, ginger transition oh yeah yeah
- 1:21:49Speaker 6: like that's not child abuse is there something no one
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: should you know uh question that's a lot more dangerous
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: but you better not climb yosemite.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Again maybe i don't know i guess you can look
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: at it two or three ways yeah you can but
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: really is there a you know but he hasn't broke
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: a law no as i said there's some law against
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: it if they're doing it safely and It's on him,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: to be honest. Yeah, really? Is it anybody's business?
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Here's a quick.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: If it goes bad, it's on him. It's on him.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: If you want it, here's James Tallarico talking about children's identity. Uh,
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: darn it. Oh, yeah, there it is.
- 1:22:24Speaker 14: I just want to clarify that I don't think gender
- 1:22:28Speaker 14: identity is something people can see differently.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: There's only one person who can determine a child's gender identity,
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: and that's the child.
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness. Good night.
- 1:22:36Speaker 9: This is The Rick Burgess Show.
- 1:22:44Speaker 6: Let's take a look at video 11 and listen to it.
- 1:22:48Speaker 6: Have y'all been following the Tyreek Hill saga?
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: Oh, Tyreek.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Oh, Tyreek. I'm going to step out on a limb here.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: You reckon he's still got any of his money?
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: You know, I don't know, but somebody's after some of
- 1:23:03Speaker 6: it right now. So you know the ongoing accusations against him.
- 1:23:08Speaker 6: He's in court now. He's about to be asked.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: If he was a good husband, do you think you
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: were a good husband? Who asked him this? I guess
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: the prosecuting lawyer, the lawyer for his wife. Was him
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: or was it his defense?
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: So, you know, here he goes, and he's going to
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: use a football analogy to assess himself as a husband.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Now, he was a good football player.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: Yeah, he was. He was, yeah.
- 1:23:36Speaker 9: Do you believe you've been a good husband?
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't. I don't.
- 1:23:47Speaker 11: Could you explain to.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: The jury in what areas do you believe that you
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: have not been.
- 1:23:54Speaker 9: A good husband?
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: I don't. I really don't.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: I just think that, you know, I'm a little into
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: football terms, but I just think that. After watching the film,
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: there were a lot of areas that I can improve in.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Okay. All right.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: We need to get off the field on third down more.
- 1:24:11Speaker 9: Yeah, right.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Watching my life's film. Yeah, sure.
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: Imagine you say that to your wife. Do you think
- 1:24:18Speaker 6: you're being a good husband?
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Well, I need to go back and look at the film.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Let's go. Can I get an instant replay? Can we
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: rule it? So Tyreek is no longer in the league, right? Right.
- 1:24:27Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: I mean, I know he had an injury at one point,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: but did that end his career? I thought he got
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: released by the Dolphins.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: I mean, he's young enough to still be playing. Yeah.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's got big problems. He had, I think,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: a knee, but still. I know. Boy, he's fast.
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: His foot got turned the wrong way.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: He was a big-time playmaker. Oh.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: A freak.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: I mean, big time. Yeah, there's rumors of who might
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: pick him up. Okay. He could be. He's 32, so
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: he's not a– Yeah, but he may not be your
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: main go-to, but he'd be good to have on the roster. Yeah.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: And return kicks. So, also, we have James Spant. made
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: an appearance on game day. Y'all do realize, uh, I
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: saw this live. This was fantastic.
- 1:25:16Speaker 6: So he was there just to talk weather right on
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: exactly how it was going to go in the game.
- 1:25:22Speaker 7: And when we talked to him throughout the week, he said,
- 1:25:24Speaker 7: this is probably where it would land. He would be
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: in the Alabama weather network studio. And then they would
- 1:25:29Speaker 7: pitch it to him.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: For kind of like, he said, he's not the guest picker.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: He said that.
- 1:25:34Speaker 7: Uh, and, and he, uh, And so he was kind
- 1:25:37Speaker 7: of given a game day slash Tuscaloosa at kickoff.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Kind of report.
- 1:25:43Speaker 7: And you could tell Pat McAfee was kind of thrown
- 1:25:46Speaker 7: off a little bit.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: He didn't realize the reaction.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: And Coleman Coliseum, where game day was moved into, would
- 1:25:51Speaker 7: be such when they showed James on their monitor in
- 1:25:54Speaker 7: the Coliseum.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: And they all just went nuts. He couldn't figure out
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: who this local weather guy was. It was pretty funny.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: So here's James on game day.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: These folks lined up. They braved the storm.
- 1:26:04Speaker 12: And exactly what we're looking at in the storm, both
- 1:26:07Speaker 12: tonight for the game and what the fans have had
- 1:26:10Speaker 12: to work through to get here right now, we are
- 1:26:13Speaker 12: joined by an Alabama weather legend.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: James, old man.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Award-winning James, man.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: James, look at you working the crowd. Let's go.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: Come on.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: Oh, that is awesome.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: These are my people.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: These are my people. So, Reece.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: By the way, Pat McAfee.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Reece, it's been a rough night.
- 1:26:36Speaker 13: By the way, by the way, before I start, real quick, fellas,
- 1:26:39Speaker 13: let me say one thing about Coach Saban. He knows
- 1:26:41Speaker 13: how to use weather information better than any other college
- 1:26:45Speaker 13: football coach in this country. And if he ever needs
- 1:26:48Speaker 13: something other than this ESPN gig, if it doesn't work out,
- 1:26:51Speaker 13: he's got a job as a senior meteorologist at the
- 1:26:53Speaker 13: Alabama weather network.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Funny, funny, funny.
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: Then he gets the forecast, right? And then they, they
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: hoop and holler a little bit again. And then he's,
- 1:27:05Speaker 7: he's wrapping up and, uh, And then Pat looks to
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: Coach Saban and says, did you lean on Saban when
- 1:27:12Speaker 7: you were– I mean, did Spann when you were coaching?
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: And this was Saban's response.
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: So this is Spann wrapping it up, and then it
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: goes straight to Saban. Guys, students, listen up. You're my people.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: I'm going to start.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: You finish.
- 1:27:22Speaker 13: Respect the polygon and roll.
- 1:27:25Speaker 9: Roll.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Nailed it, James.
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: Absolutely nailed it. I don't know if they heard anything
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: he said. Can they all chant for Russell and everything else?
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: James Spann, you're an icon.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: We're thankful you're on the show, brother.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 1:27:39Speaker 12: How about James there, leading the cheers, dropping the weather knowledge,
- 1:27:46Speaker 12: being big.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: In the moment, and proclaiming, these are my people. Did
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: you rely on James here? All the time.
- 1:27:51Speaker 12: And he could predict when it was going to start
- 1:27:53Speaker 12: raining to the minute during practice every day.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Oh, that's fantastic. By the way, I'm watching the Saban.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: We know. Just stop. We all know this. I watched
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: episode three, and there's a lot there. There you go.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: That's the 2009 year. Now he gets it turned around
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: in three years.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: Has to go against Tebow again after Tebow stopped the season.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: The year before.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I was listening when he cried and everybody made fun
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: of him. Correct. And they showed that again.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: So, but.
- 1:28:27Speaker 6: The whole thing with Saban and his character is just
- 1:28:30Speaker 6: so funny how he is completely obsessed when he coached
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: that you don't take your eye.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Off the goal.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: Mark Ingram, it was so funny because he wins the
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: Heisman in 2009.
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: I know you're talking about history, Rick, but we don't
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: want to know how it's pieced together.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: I know we know.
- 1:28:52Speaker 7: About history, but the way it's pieced together, we don't
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: want to know that part.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: I'd like to see it for myself. Y'all don't want
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: to hear.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: That he said that he was almost. Well, apparently we're
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: going to.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: We kind of want to watch it. We wanted to
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: watch it.
- 1:29:06Speaker 6: Saban almost made the whole going to the Heisman miserable
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: because he said he constantly, the whole time we were there,
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: was telling me not to forget about the national championship
- 1:29:15Speaker 6: game and not take my off the ball.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Don't let this get in the way of us winning
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: this championship. That's all he talked about the whole time
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: we were there. He didn't want to be distracted.
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: And then Kirby Smart talking about the 7.30 in the
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: morning meeting after they won it.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: Okay, okay. No, that's good.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: You're still going.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Everybody knows about it. That's not new stuff.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: I don't know about it.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: That's not new stuff. I don't know anything about it.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: I've never seen him talk about it.
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: So y'all know that winning can be an asset, but
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: it also can be a disease. You can't let it
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: become a disease. Don't y'all know that?
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we do.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: Now we do.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:29:45Speaker 7: The Kirby Smart thing is good. They're putting that out
- 1:29:47Speaker 7: on promos. That was good, but I'm not going to
- 1:29:50Speaker 7: say it. I'll change the promo when it comes on.
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: Somebody that is one of our, that's out there in
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: the audience, somebody has already emailed me something to be
- 1:29:59Speaker 6: leery of later in the series, and it's kind of
- 1:30:03Speaker 6: got me a little bit off. I'm like, I may
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: not even.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Watch that episode then. Oh, I know what it probably is.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: Somebody said, hey, you're not going to.
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: I know what it is.
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Episode six.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: Oh, I see.
- 1:30:20Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: Now, I heard they're putting out an episode seven, The
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Game the Ref Stole.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: Talking about the Georgia game this past weekend.
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: I know, man. Yeah. We'll be back.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: More of the Rick Burgess Show coming up right after this.
- 1:30:38Speaker 9: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: But, uh, so, um, We look forward to seeing you.
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: And if you want to see where these remaining seats are,
- 1:30:52Speaker 6: you can go to the Ticketmaster map and see for yourself.
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: There's a few singles that are really in good shape,
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: but you'd be sitting by yourself.
- 1:31:01Speaker 7: I don't know what you have planned here, but old
- 1:31:04Speaker 7: Gregory Burgess over here to my left, baby brother.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: What do you do? You know, we came in late Friday.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: So late. Some of us drove back. So late. You know,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: and you– I mean, you blow past Styx, and you're
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: at midnight. Styx is laughing at you.
- 1:31:19Speaker 7: And that happens, but we have a late night, and
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: he said he had an early wake-up call Saturday morning.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: What happened? Well, I get home about midnight. Been up
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: since what, two?
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: That's fine. Not a big deal.
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: I'm home.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: Greg, I'm not a mathematician, but that's 22 hours.
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: About 5 a.m. Have you ever, when the power goes off,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: the silence wakes you up?
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? It was so silent and
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: so dark. I always sense it. I always sense it. Anyway,
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: so I jump up. I'm like, dang, the power's off.
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: And I'm running around while that Waxley's up. Here she goes. Well,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: now you understand, Miss Brew Bar. Oh, the Brew Bar.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: All her stuff she mixes. Oh, the Brew Bar. So
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: I get as much of them as I can and
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: put it in the freezer. And they're there. She goes, uh-oh,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: all my stuff's going to melt. Now, guys, I go
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: in there and open the refrigerator. It's still cold. I
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: always keep a little cup of water to drink.
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: It's cold.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: The power has just gone out. We're good. So that
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: water is still cold. I go to get back into bed.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Here she comes with her jacket on. What do you do?
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: Raincoat.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: It's raining outside, too. I left that part out. Oh,
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: so good sleep. I said, I'm going back to sleep.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: She goes, well, that stuff's going to melt. I said,
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: it's not going to melt right now. Anyway, then later
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: she accused me that I act like a jerk, which
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I probably did.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: You did?
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: Do you think you did?
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: I was asleep.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: Are you in your underwear during all this?
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: I'm in my underwear. Okay.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Oh, that's so good. Please don't put on any gym shorts.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: Stay in that underwear.
- 1:32:44Speaker 10: Understand.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Understand, people. When stuff is still, I checked it. And
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: you keep opening it, it ain't good.
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: Checked it, still frozen solid. We got hours to worry
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: about it, right?
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: That's why I went back to bed. No. Well, I
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: don't know what I'm going to do. I know what
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: I'll do. The brew bar has a generator on it.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: Oh, no, Greg. The trailer. No, Greg.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: And there's a freezer in it.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: No, Greg.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: So we're out there in the rain firing the generator up.
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: And we're getting ready just in case. Because it takes
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: the refrigerator and the freezer in the brew bar trailer
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: to It's been off. So it's got to cool up.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: You know, it's got to get cold. So now we're
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: getting it just in case. Still, you got hours before
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: you have to. You really got days, probably, before you
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: have to worry about it. But, A, I was a jerk.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: According to her. And this is over blueberries? Well, that's
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: what was popular flavor, right? Okay.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Frozen blueberries. But you're saying. Hard to find. Hard to find.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: So she stockpiles. The drink of water. Hey, I've seen
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: it in action. A lot of people like it.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: A lot of orders from blueberries. Who doesn't love blueberries?
- 1:33:47Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: But you're telling me the cup of water in the fridge.
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: The fridge had been off so little time. I think
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: I must have woke up immediately because.
- 1:33:56Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: So you're saying within the hour, you were in there
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: trying to fix everything. Yes. Yeah. I was going to
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: sleep a couple more hours. I didn't worry about it.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Because God forbid.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: You know what?
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: It may come back on. But then again, we were thinking,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: major storm. What if it's widespread? Maybe it went away.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: They didn't think it was going to go. And I said, look,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I think we're fine. I said, I'll run to town
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: here later and see if the lights are on, if
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: it's a major outage. Anyway, of course, I do that.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: And on the way back, I look, I go by,
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: and there's a church on the way. So you're up now.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: So you're up.
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: Oh, I'm up.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: This is later, though.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: Did you get to sleep some more? You got to
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: calm down where you slept a little more?
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: A little more. Not a lot. We want to know
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: how much. We were waiting on the cooler to get
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: real cold. Did you sleep two more hours?
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: No.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: Maybe an hour, maybe.
- 1:34:40Speaker 9: Oh, speed.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: I don't even think it was an hour. Because I
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: got this. Let me tell you who didn't sleep was Lisa.
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: She was up, and we're going to fire the brew
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: bar up just in case we've got to move it
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: over as a safe house. For the blueberry mix. Safe house. Guys.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: And then I went to town later when it got,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: and I, and I, and it was, the power was
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: off when I left. Coming back at the church on
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: the way, their sign was lit up. Pulling the driveways
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: back on. All that panic. All that me being a jerk,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: which I probably was, but I was, I was really sleepy.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Daddy's tired. And then once I seen it was froze solid,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: I thought, well, we're good for hours or even longer.
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: By the way, I've had the power go off and
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: it be all day and nothing. Nothing ruined. If you
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: don't open the freezer, it's good.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: You can't keep checking it.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: Can't keep doing that. No, that's true. But I have
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: that safe haven out there. Let's fire a brew bar up,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: get that back up froze, and let's transfer it there
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: and just let it run. Had the transfer taken place
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: by the time you got back? No, I actually did.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: She kind of bought into what I was thinking then.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: I said, well, let's let it. You know, the brew
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: bar's got to get cold anyway. There's no sense. Let's
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: go in and try to catch a nap.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I promise you, she didn't go back to sleep.
- 1:35:48Speaker 10: No.
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: So did you just go turn the generator back off?
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Did you?
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: Well, we agreed.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: Now, I didn't just, you know, but once we agreed,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: once the power came on. Yeah. While you were in
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: your truck. I should have got her to call in.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: Her side of this, there's no telling. She'll exaggerate it.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: How about this?
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: When you got in your truck and we're driving around
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: the community, okay, trying to see if there was anything on,
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: did you do any monologuing in there?
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: No, Rick.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: I rode around whistling. Okay. Just want to make sure.
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: And that's the way it is, something I do. Every
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: time the power goes out, I think I have to
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: go look for it. It gets on our nerves, too.
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: So I'm going to ride around and see if I
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: can find what's got it out. Well, you were- I'm
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: not going to fix it, but I can tell how
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: long it's going to be.
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: If you have the pole laying on the ground, it's
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: going to be a minute. Not that any of us
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: do this, but I know there may be some husbands
- 1:36:34Speaker 6: who do. When they monologue because they're not going to
- 1:36:37Speaker 6: say what they want to monologue.
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: Yes, Rick.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Because it could be that. You say it to yourself
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: while driving. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you why
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: they ain't frozen.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: The question is, do you do it out loud or
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: you just do it in your head? But I was
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: labeled a jerk because I was going back to bed.
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: But you didn't do it.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: Because I knew everything was still frozen. I could at
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: least sleep an hour. Yeah, you didn't do it. But
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: if some people do, if you ever were to do it,
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: is it vocal or do you think it?
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: Vocal.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: I talk to myself. Because I do that anyway, and
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: it's weird. Kids used to catch me all the time.
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: They go, what are you doing? You're over-talking to yourself.
- 1:37:10Speaker 7: Well, sometimes you've got to let it out. I'm labeled
- 1:37:12Speaker 7: a smart aleck. You know what?
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: That's weird. I am too.
- 1:37:15Speaker 7: So sometimes those come out, and she's like, do what?
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: And then in my mind, I'm thinking, just say nothing.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: No, nothing. And then I have to repeat it, and
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 1:37:25Speaker 7: It's like somebody's keeping score, and there's people in the
- 1:37:28Speaker 7: stands going, yeah.
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: Lisa had it. She had it.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: Cheering you on.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: She had a good plan, but it wasn't necessary yet.
- 1:37:36Speaker 9: It was later.
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: Okay, hey, good plan. Timeline was off. Let's go to
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: sleep and we'll do that plan later if it's still off.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Because you know what? It may come back on.
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: I mean, we weren't in the middle of the eye.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: I mean, my goodness.
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: You know, I remember too. It didn't even rain that much.
- 1:37:50Speaker 6: If I'm not mistaken, did Lili not tell us? She
- 1:37:54Speaker 6: did not want to be recognized at the show. And
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: we must have recognized her like four or five times.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: Several times, yes. Yeah, that went out the window. But
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: she's fine. She loved it. She had a ball.
- 1:38:01Speaker 6: How are we not going to recognize Lili, especially when
- 1:38:03Speaker 6: I'm introducing Age of Miracles?
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: That's right. But no, she was fine. She loved it.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: I caught that on the video. Did you see?
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: That was fantastic, watching her respond.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: To that song.
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: We watched it yesterday. And then Greg's granddaughter came. trying
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: to sing a song that there's no way she knew.
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: And I look out there and she's trying to mouth
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: it with me.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: And she's three. And she's three.
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: The other thing was, and we'll go ahead and say
- 1:38:26Speaker 6: it because it was put out on video by fans anyway.
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: Adler's National Anthem went off without a hitch.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: It sure did.
- 1:38:33Speaker 6: We finally. That was the thing you'd been dreaming, buddy.
- 1:38:36Speaker 6: They finally got him a product. You had been dreaming that.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: It was so funny.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: That's how you saw it, wasn't it?
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: I walked out, and the guitar worked, and that was,
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: people were like, yeah, it's working.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: I heard that.
- 1:38:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: They weren't like, yeah, it's tough for the answer. They
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: were like, yeah, the guitar's working, yes.
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: I like how you got more than halfway through it,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: and you realize it's going to stay, and then you
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: start doing the tricks.
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: You're going to hammer on. It was good. Well done.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: If only that had happened on 9-11, that would.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: Have been really nice.
- 1:39:04Speaker 7: We were standing on that side of the stage.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: Rick and I were together. And when it hit, we
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: were like, yeah. Because I'll be honest with you, I
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: was ready for anything. Sure. I was so convinced the
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: second show that it would work. Yeah. I wasn't going
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: to be caught that way. So I'm going to act
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: like it's not going to work. I'm expecting it not
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: to work. Because the one on the second show caught
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: me off guard.

- 1:39:51Speaker 2: I actually did move things from my freezer to my van.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: You were off longer than that.
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:39:57Speaker 8: But I told all my neighborhood techs, I was like,
- 1:40:00Speaker 8: hey guys, I'm almost done moving all my stuff to
- 1:40:01Speaker 8: the freezer, so the power is going to come right
- 1:40:03Speaker 8: back on.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: And it did.
