Bevis of Southampton has had a difficult life. His dad went to the pharmacy (the woods) and never came back (because he was murdered by 10,000 soldiers), he was sold into slavery, and apparently can't go ten minutes without fighting a giant. But, throughout it all, we learn that no matter how difficult life gets... it can still throw a dragon fight your way too, so watch out.
