- 0:05Speaker 1: Gave.
- 0:06Speaker 2: My little victory was very very tiny, but important to me,
- 0:11Speaker 2: and it's that I got to bed earlier than I
- 0:15Speaker 2: have all week. That is so important for me, because
- 0:20Speaker 2: ye girls struggles when she doesn't get enough sleep, like I.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Look worse, I feel worse. I can't function.
- 0:30Speaker 2: And so finally last night, I think I by the
- 0:33Speaker 2: time I probably fell asleep, it was maybe seven thirty.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And that was a miracle because I'd been going to
- 0:38Speaker 2: bed pretty good. Yeah, I'd been going to bed after
- 0:41Speaker 2: eight o'clock and that's not my my norm.
- 0:44Speaker 1: So this is good.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I feel like I'm finally catching up on sleep, and
- 0:47Speaker 2: tonight I'll be able to go to bed and then
- 0:50Speaker 2: sleep in because it's Saturday. So I feel like I'm
- 0:53Speaker 2: kicking off Labor Day weekend the right way.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so I feel good about it.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I told you kicking off the long weekend. Well rest,
- 1:00Speaker 3: did you get me arrested?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 1:04Speaker 3: We always take victories around here, and no matter the size,
- 1:07Speaker 3: big or small.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Exactly, that's why we call it little victory. What about
- 1:11Speaker 1: you game?
- 1:11Speaker 3: My little victory yesterday after we were at Unhinged for
- 1:15Speaker 3: big happy Hour, Right, Yeah, I get home and you know,
- 1:18Speaker 3: the sun was kind of going down. I don't know
- 1:20Speaker 3: when I got home, right right around after six or whatever,
- 1:23Speaker 3: and I was just kind of chilling out and the
- 1:26Speaker 3: sun was going down, and I was like, oh, I'm
- 1:27Speaker 3: gonna take the dog for a walk real quick, just
- 1:29Speaker 3: one more time, you know, while the sun's going down,
- 1:31Speaker 3: it's not too hot. And I come back and flip
- 1:34Speaker 3: on the TV and the Minnesota Golden Gopher football team
- 1:38Speaker 3: was on. I totally forgot they even had a game
- 1:41Speaker 3: or played. So it was kind of like, oh, holy smokes,
- 1:44Speaker 3: it's like football smacked me in the face. I know
- 1:47Speaker 3: this weekend. You know, we're gonna talk to Sam later
- 1:50Speaker 3: today for wamband. Thank you Sam brought to you by
- 1:53Speaker 3: Gateway Chevrolet at eight forty one, and he's gonna give
- 1:56Speaker 3: us a little just inside scoop on the Bison every
- 1:59Speaker 3: Friday this year year as well as you know what
- 2:01Speaker 3: he's excited about for the upcoming season, uh, you know,
- 2:04Speaker 3: the game tomorrow. And it really was like, oh my god,
- 2:08Speaker 3: football's here. And and I'm not like the world's biggest
- 2:11Speaker 3: Golden Gopher football fan. I like watching them. It's great,
- 2:16Speaker 3: but they're never like good enough to really do anything
- 2:18Speaker 3: in college football. So I like to split my time
- 2:21Speaker 3: between the NDSU Bison and the Golden Gopher football team.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I feel you I kind of double dipping a little
- 2:26Speaker 3: bit here for whichever team is more successful that year
- 2:30Speaker 3: nine times out of ten, well, ten times out of ten,
- 2:34Speaker 3: that's right. I had asked this question, not seven minutes
- 2:40Speaker 3: ago or six minutes ago. What is the most loved condiment?
- 2:44Speaker 3: When I ask you that question right now? Boom, instantly,
- 2:47Speaker 3: what's the first thing that popped in your brain? I
- 2:49Speaker 3: guarantee it's wrong?
- 2:50Speaker 1: Catch up?
- 2:51Speaker 3: I said, sure, you know another popular answer someone might say,
- 2:55Speaker 3: or so it popped in their head mustard?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Oh I love muscle too.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm a guy. We ain't even close.
- 3:02Speaker 1: What is it the most popular condiment?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Okay, so may prepare myself because I feel like I'm
- 3:08Speaker 2: gonna be disappointed in America.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So Labor Day obviously this weekend, it's kind of to
- 3:14Speaker 3: send off to summer. You know, people are going to
- 3:16Speaker 3: their cabin or the lake house or whatever for the
- 3:18Speaker 3: last time of the year or the last time of
- 3:20Speaker 3: the summer. It might be doing some grilling, right, Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 3: you got ketchup, laid out, you got mustard laid out.
- 3:27Speaker 3: You might even have some pickles around. Yeah, you know
- 3:30Speaker 3: what you need to have. Supposedly, what the most loved
- 3:33Speaker 3: condiment here in America is mayonnaise? Is that not so mad?
- 3:39Speaker 2: I'm so mad mayonnaise because then I was thinking barbecue sauce.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Maybe, yeah, right, mayonnaise.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And I love mayonnaise. I'm a Mayo guy, but I
- 3:48Speaker 3: would never guess that it is the most loved condiment.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Thirty percent of people admit to loving mayo, catch up
- 3:58Speaker 3: right below it at twenty eight percent, and then mustard
- 4:01Speaker 3: at twenty five. Despite all this fake Mayo hate online,
- 4:07Speaker 3: we all love that Heilman's or however you say it, Helmans,
- 4:11Speaker 3: thank you that one.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And gross, No, I upset.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Now if you mix the Mayo with the ketchup fire
- 4:18Speaker 2: and you make fancy saucep okay, that I can get behind.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But a monsters in America?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Would you have ever get a favorite?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Baiting?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Of course, not not only not only like number one,
- 4:30Speaker 3: but favorite?
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm I'm not into that.
- 4:33Speaker 3: No, you know, I love Mayo on a burger. It
- 4:36Speaker 3: really is incredible. It probably has to do with a
- 4:38Speaker 3: little mixture ketchup in there, you know, what's crazy.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Ketchup would be like down my list. I don't really
- 4:44Speaker 4: care you're not. I only like ketchup on burgers and
- 4:47Speaker 4: hot dogs. Oh you know what, maybe controversial opinion, but
- 4:51Speaker 4: back when I used to eat eggs, ketchup all over
- 4:54Speaker 4: the eggs.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Either way, you learn something new today. I guarantee you.
- 4:58Speaker 3: You didn't say Mayo. And I asked that work work, work,
- 5:05Speaker 3: work works.
- 5:06Speaker 1: To me, the work work, work, worg work.
- 5:08Speaker 3: It was very hard to hear that song and not
- 5:10Speaker 3: start like dancing a little bit.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I know I was dancing over here, and so were you.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Well, hopefully on Monday you don't have to work, but
- 5:17Speaker 3: we do want to say if you do have to work,
- 5:18Speaker 3: there's a lot of people who still do, whether it's
- 5:21Speaker 3: a police officers, uh, first responders, nurses, doctors, even like
- 5:26Speaker 3: the person who works at the gas station that you
- 5:29Speaker 3: see every day and you buy your breakfast sandwich and
- 5:31Speaker 3: your energy drink drink from.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you for working on what is for a
- 5:35Speaker 2: lot of people along.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Weekend exactly now Labor Day? Why do we celebrate Labor
- 5:41Speaker 3: Day For a lot of people. You might just think
- 5:43Speaker 3: it's just a fun day off, like go work, you know, yay,
- 5:46Speaker 3: it got me this day off this year. Well, what
- 5:49Speaker 3: Labor Day is is it recognizes the social and economical
- 5:53Speaker 3: achievements of workers and the role of the labor movement
- 5:57Speaker 3: in improving work condition. That's really kind of how this
- 6:01Speaker 3: whole thing started. This began in the late nineteenth century
- 6:04Speaker 3: to honor the contributions and achievements of American workers. So
- 6:09Speaker 3: that is actually why we're celebrating now. For a lot
- 6:12Speaker 3: of people, a Labor Day is kind of more recognized
- 6:14Speaker 3: as the end of summer. Yeah, and so we just
- 6:18Speaker 3: wanted to come out and just remind you, Hey, if
- 6:20Speaker 3: you have the long weekend, that is awesome. We're jacked
- 6:22Speaker 3: for you. But just a reminder there are people who
- 6:25Speaker 3: do have to go to work on Monday, and we
- 6:26Speaker 3: just wanted to recognize them and thank them this morning
- 6:28Speaker 3: here on Big ninety eight point seven. Do you know
- 6:31Speaker 3: that this holiday it was first celebrated in eighteen eighty two.
- 6:38Speaker 2: No, how would I No, I don't know that that
- 6:40Speaker 2: didn't know this so long? Yeah, you know what I mean, Yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 2: over one hundred years.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah, a ton. So on the way, we've got justin
- 6:49Speaker 3: Bieber when people ask, hey, what are you celebrating Labor
- 6:52Speaker 3: Day for or next time you're at the water cooler
- 6:54Speaker 3: at work today you go, hey, do you know why
- 6:56Speaker 3: we have Labor Day off? You know, instead of your
- 6:58Speaker 3: answer being so I can grow hot dogs and putting
- 7:01Speaker 3: mayonnaise on them, it's because we're celebrating labor.
- 7:10Speaker 1: This is sorry, not sorry.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Where we say the thing you're thinking, but are too
- 7:15Speaker 2: polite to say. We die on the hill of controversial opinions,
- 7:19Speaker 2: so you don't have to, Gabe, is there something you
- 7:22Speaker 2: need to share with the class today?
- 7:24Speaker 3: Football season is back? Okay, and if you want to
- 7:27Speaker 3: brag about how many Super Bowl teams your team has
- 7:31Speaker 3: won this season while bantering with fans about the NFL,
- 7:35Speaker 3: that's fine, But you need to realize the only ones
- 7:38Speaker 3: that truly matter for you are the ones that you
- 7:41Speaker 3: were alive for. Okay. You don't get to brag about
- 7:44Speaker 3: a super Bowl your team won in the eighties if
- 7:47Speaker 3: you were born after two thousand. Okay, if you didn't
- 7:50Speaker 3: even have the option to watch the game because you
- 7:53Speaker 3: weren't even a thing yet, you don't get to hang
- 7:57Speaker 3: your hat on that Super Bowl.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh that's great.
- 8:00Speaker 3: As a Vikings fan, I have zero Super Bowls to
- 8:03Speaker 3: brag about. Uh huh, But I don't want to hear
- 8:05Speaker 3: about your team winning the Super Bowl in nineteen seventy four.
- 8:09Speaker 3: You were born in nineteen ninety five. You didn't get
- 8:11Speaker 3: to cheer, You didn't get to drink, watch the commercials,
- 8:14Speaker 3: or even participate in life at that point. What did
- 8:18Speaker 3: oxygen taste like in nineteen seventy four? You don't know.
- 8:22Speaker 3: You can't be proud or you can be Excuse me,
- 8:25Speaker 3: you can be proud of and brag about your favorite
- 8:27Speaker 3: team's history, but I don't want to hear about one
- 8:31Speaker 3: single championship that you have if you weren't even a
- 8:36Speaker 3: thought in your parent's brain at the time.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Sorry, every Cowboys fan.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I know, and thus Vikes fans out. Do you have
- 8:50Speaker 3: a life hack when you can't sleep? I don't know why,
- 8:52Speaker 3: but there was something just earlier this week, there was
- 8:55Speaker 3: a night where I laid in bed just I think
- 8:57Speaker 3: I probably fell asleep at midnight.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Oh, that's awful.
- 9:01Speaker 3: And I was laying down by about nine thirty ninety five.
- 9:05Speaker 3: And I bet this year, when kids are off to
- 9:08Speaker 3: school and they have nights where they man, I cannot
- 9:11Speaker 3: go to sleep. I got a big test tomorrow. I
- 9:13Speaker 3: gotta be at my best here. Yeah, I want I
- 9:15Speaker 3: want some help. Kids, maybe want some help? What is
- 9:18Speaker 3: your sleep hack? Seven oh one two eight zero one
- 9:22Speaker 3: nine eight seven. I would deal with that as a young,
- 9:25Speaker 3: younger kid when I had to test the next day
- 9:27Speaker 3: or something.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You couldn't sleep before a test, Yeah, it'd be.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Like an anxiety thing. Eight cause it's like, oh, I
- 9:32Speaker 3: got a test, I'm nervous. B I knew I was
- 9:33Speaker 3: gonna do poorly because I didn't study, Okay, So I
- 9:37Speaker 3: kind of brought it upon myself, of course.
- 9:39Speaker 2: All right, Well for you back then, the way to
- 9:41Speaker 2: sleep would have been to study.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I know those books are for reading, not for coloring exactly.
- 9:47Speaker 1: In terms of sleep hacks. You know what I and
- 9:50Speaker 1: I should restock.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I drink Sleepy Time tea, like whatever that tea is
- 9:55Speaker 2: that on the box, there's a bear in a night
- 9:59Speaker 2: gown with the little nikecap.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And that's the Sleepy Time tea.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:04Speaker 2: So I drink that and then take a melotone in
- 10:07Speaker 2: and then I usually knock out, but I do when
- 10:11Speaker 2: I take melotone, and I get really weird dreams, and
- 10:15Speaker 2: so sometimes it's not worth it.
- 10:17Speaker 3: To me because the dreams.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Are really really weird and bad. But other than that,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I did hear somewhere that you're supposed to try to
- 10:25Speaker 2: not count sheep, but just list random things that have
- 10:29Speaker 2: no correlation to each other, to like, I don't know,
- 10:31Speaker 2: trick your brain or something like to be like care envelope,
- 10:36Speaker 2: garden hose, like to just think of random things and
- 10:38Speaker 2: eventually your brain will be like, I don't even know
- 10:40Speaker 2: what you're doing.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Let's just go to bed.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Oh I like that. Yeah, I know. I listen to
- 10:44Speaker 3: a lot of audio books to help me sleep sometimes
- 10:46Speaker 3: now I once in a blue moon that doesn't work.
- 10:48Speaker 3: But if you find an audio book that either a
- 10:51Speaker 3: you've listened to a billion times or B has a
- 10:54Speaker 3: ton of details in it that'll knock you right out.
- 10:57Speaker 3: That's also probably why it wasn't the best of students.
- 11:00Speaker 3: We do have Amber on the phone. Amber, do you
- 11:02Speaker 3: have a sleep pack?
- 11:03Speaker 5: I usually try to get up and make some tea
- 11:05Speaker 5: something combing. Just lying there staring at the ceiling drives
- 11:09Speaker 5: me crazy, so I figure I might as well reset,
- 11:11Speaker 5: and nine times out of ten, once I stop trying
- 11:14Speaker 5: so hard, I actually get tired.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't hate that. Actually, hey, it's not working
- 11:19Speaker 3: out for me right now. I'm gonna get up, do
- 11:20Speaker 3: a little chore, do a tiny something, and then just
- 11:23Speaker 3: reset this whole process.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I think we can all agree. Just don't turn your
- 11:28Speaker 2: phone on, don't go down to the worldly thing.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah for sure, James, What about you, man? Do
- 11:33Speaker 3: you have a sleep pack?
- 11:34Speaker 5: So I watch TV something I've seen a million times,
- 11:37Speaker 5: so I don't get invested in it, and that usually
- 11:39Speaker 5: does the trick.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, see, doesn't do it for me.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Really, that's what I do for Liam. And probably parents
- 11:45Speaker 2: are going.
- 11:45Speaker 1: To be like, what your kid watches TV for bed?
- 11:48Speaker 2: But we put on Soul the Jamie FOXX cartoon from Disney.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Do you know this movie?
- 11:55Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:56Speaker 1: No, Oh my gosh, it's so good.
- 11:58Speaker 2: But that's a tried and true one where like it's
- 12:01Speaker 2: time for bed, tuck him in, put on Soul and
- 12:05Speaker 2: then he knocks out.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Heck yeah, all right. Well, if you have a kid
- 12:07Speaker 3: who's struggling to sleep during any time this school year,
- 12:10Speaker 3: I am serious, I would recommend trying an audio book.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Just play something at a low volume and it's kind
- 12:17Speaker 3: of interesting. If they have a brain that's like racing.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Racing at night. Yeah, it kind of calms your brain
- 12:23Speaker 3: down a little bit and you're just sitting here listening
- 12:25Speaker 3: to this nice voice, you know, listening to a story,
- 12:27Speaker 3: and then before you know it, you got to rewind
- 12:30Speaker 3: because you woke up the next morning and you forgot
- 12:31Speaker 3: where you're at.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Right, I think that's like the concept of you know,
- 12:34Speaker 2: reading your kid a bedtime story. But the way life
- 12:37Speaker 2: is now, sometimes we ain't got time for that.
- 12:39Speaker 6: Put on that audible and speaking of Labor Day, the
- 12:48Speaker 6: reason we have this holidays, it's really just kind of
- 12:50Speaker 6: a celebration of American workers who improved work environments and
- 12:54Speaker 6: the economical impact they have had on the United States,
- 12:59Speaker 6: which got me thinking about work.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Right, Ange and I are kind of lucky. We're spoiled.
- 13:03Speaker 3: We get to come in here and try to have
- 13:05Speaker 3: fun with you every single morning and get to call
- 13:08Speaker 3: it a job. Yeah, there are a lot of people
- 13:10Speaker 3: who have real jobs and contribute just to science.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Okay, there was a time where I was a worker
- 13:19Speaker 2: who put in a lot of labor.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Okay, Gabe, so there.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Okay, Well, what would be the most like laborists? How
- 13:28Speaker 3: do you say this word laborious, laborious thank you, what
- 13:31Speaker 3: would be the most laborious job you have ever had?
- 13:35Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 13:38Speaker 3: And you know what, there are people right now on
- 13:40Speaker 3: the way to go do the most laborious job they've
- 13:43Speaker 3: ever had. So we thank you for that, uh for sure?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Okay, well I worked.
- 13:47Speaker 3: We do not have a laborious job.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Now, well our brains, that is true work.
- 13:53Speaker 2: The only time I really had to do like physical
- 13:56Speaker 2: labor for work is because once in a blue in
- 13:59Speaker 2: a once ton of time do I know how to talk?
- 14:02Speaker 2: A long time ago, I used to work at Frederick's
- 14:04Speaker 2: of Hollywood, which is a lingerie store, and I think
- 14:07Speaker 2: they are out of business now, But in like the
- 14:10Speaker 2: twenty tens, it was very popular for the Fredericks of
- 14:15Speaker 2: Hollywood corset to be worn not just in the bedroom,
- 14:19Speaker 2: but also out and about like tonight clubs and parties
- 14:22Speaker 2: and whatever business.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Did it almost work like shapewear, yeah, but it.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Was like pretty and you could wear it outerwear. And
- 14:30Speaker 2: so I used to always have the task of tying
- 14:34Speaker 2: people into these corsets. And what I loved about that
- 14:38Speaker 2: is that I always quoted this from Titanic.
- 14:41Speaker 1: A situation is precarious. You know the money's gone. Of course,
- 14:45Speaker 1: I know it's gone. You remind me every day your
- 14:48Speaker 1: father left us nothing.
- 14:49Speaker 3: But let us hear of bad days even by a
- 14:51Speaker 3: good day.
- 14:53Speaker 1: That name is the only card we have.
- 14:55Speaker 3: To play every time I think, of course, it's I
- 14:57Speaker 3: think of that mom. Just yes, crap and roll yes.
- 15:01Speaker 2: And so that was always pretty labor intensive to like
- 15:05Speaker 2: really get people super snatched in these corsets. But there
- 15:09Speaker 2: was one time Gabe and I quit shortly after this.
- 15:13Speaker 2: There was this one time this man came into the
- 15:15Speaker 2: store and he said, Hey, I was at the other
- 15:17Speaker 2: Fredericks of Hollywood and they said that they didn't carry
- 15:21Speaker 2: my size corset, but that this store did.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Can you help me with that?
- 15:27Speaker 2: And since I was like the corset expert, my manager
- 15:31Speaker 2: was like, Angie, can you help this man?
- 15:33Speaker 1: Listen?
- 15:33Speaker 2: If he wants to be in a corset, who am
- 15:35Speaker 2: I to judge? But he was a three hundred pound
- 15:40Speaker 2: man and we did carry plus sized corsets, and so
- 15:44Speaker 2: he asked me to help him get into a corset.
- 15:48Speaker 2: And I was a trooper, and I went into that
- 15:50Speaker 2: dressing room and I was slaving away. I was pulling
- 15:54Speaker 2: the strings. I was nipping, I was tucking. I did
- 15:58Speaker 2: get to do my quote from Titanic, and I finally,
- 16:03Speaker 2: after like a good twenty minutes, got this three hundred
- 16:07Speaker 2: pound man cinched up into this corset. I was sweating,
- 16:12Speaker 2: he was sweating. It was really just the most difficult
- 16:16Speaker 2: job I'd ever done. When I stepped away, he looked
- 16:20Speaker 2: at himself in the mirror. He loved it. He was
- 16:23Speaker 2: so happy. I was like, cool, I'll meet you at
- 16:25Speaker 2: the register. And then he left the dressing room and
- 16:29Speaker 2: didn't buy the corset, and I never saw him again.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Oh way, I was so mad. This dressing room smells
- 16:37Speaker 3: like a swamp of sweat and he doesn't even buy
- 16:41Speaker 3: the thing, didn't even buy it. And then I said
- 16:43Speaker 3: I'd be iradio.
- 16:44Speaker 1: You know what I think I'm gonna do Radio.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Perfect. You know what's funny. My story's not exactly similar,
- 16:52Speaker 3: but I did decide. You know what I'm going into
- 16:54Speaker 3: radio is I spent I used to landscape, right and

- 17:08Speaker 3: you hear this story, There was a day where there
- 17:10Speaker 3: were like these. It was like eight just palettes of

- 17:35Speaker 3: hill to where we actually need them terrible and so,
- 17:39Speaker 3: one by one by one wheelbarrow full, I did this
- 17:42Speaker 3: and it literally took me like six hours. That was
- 17:45Speaker 3: my task, and I decided I don't want to do
- 17:48Speaker 3: this anymore. I literally signed up for radio school the
- 17:51Speaker 3: next day.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Stop.
- 17:52Speaker 3: That's amazing. And so I was like, I, this is insane.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I don't want to do this when I'm fifty
