- 0:00Speaker 1: This is like the baby's breath of movies. It's like
- 0:03Speaker 1: a filler flower popped into the schedule.
- 0:05Speaker 2: One hundred percent.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallwork, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:26Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a lifelong Hallmark movie fan.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I'm Wendy and these are the kinds of movies that
- 0:31Speaker 3: make me want to quit podcasting.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This week's episode is all about the love Club colon
- 0:36Speaker 1: Nicole's pen pal. If you want to connect with us
- 0:39Speaker 1: outside of the podcast, you can follow us on Instagram.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We are at Megan and Wendy and at Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been a little absent on our Instagram page
- 0:51Speaker 3: for a couple weeks now, just because you know.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Listen to our long story short episode on Thursday for
- 0:56Speaker 1: an update on our lives.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah exactly.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Girls Gone Hallmark on Instagram, or you can jump
- 1:02Speaker 3: into our Facebook group is also Girls Gone Hallmark and.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We appreciate your emails. Once again, life's win a little
- 1:08Speaker 1: bit weird. You can hear it in my voice. You
- 1:10Speaker 1: can't see Wendy's boot, but we are hobbled in more
- 1:15Speaker 1: ways than one. Around here is before we jump into
- 1:17Speaker 1: our thoughts on Nicole's Pennpow. Let's talk about a Hallmark.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Is there anything new coming out?
- 1:22Speaker 1: I've got a couple things to tell you about.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Tell me one is not so much.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Breaking news as it is confirmation of news that we
- 1:31Speaker 1: were already aware of, and that is Hallmark itself has
- 1:33Speaker 1: confirmed the return of the Murder She Baked series starring
- 1:36Speaker 1: Allison Sweeney and Cameron Matheson, and it will return with
- 1:40Speaker 1: a movie based on the novel Carrot Cake Murder, to
- 1:43Speaker 1: air later this year. Can I ask you, what's that
- 1:46Speaker 1: face that you're making?
- 1:47Speaker 3: It's just funny that it takes Crown Media or Hallmark
- 1:51Speaker 3: Media like days weeks to confirm something when like the
- 1:57Speaker 3: Hallmark fandom has already basically confirmed it.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Do you think that's intentional? Like, let's get them talking,
- 2:04Speaker 1: let's get them thinking they've got some scoop, and then
- 2:06Speaker 1: we'll come in.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Well maybe you know their new recent hires. If that's
- 2:10Speaker 3: the game plan, then yes, I would say yes, okay.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Also, in addition to the movies that we know are
- 2:17Speaker 1: coming in March, Hallmark has announced in April, on Easter Sunday,
- 2:22Speaker 1: they will air a faith based movie. It starts Amanda
- 2:26Speaker 1: shol and Carlo Marx and it will be called the
- 2:28Speaker 1: Blessing Bracelets.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Well, two thoughts here, Amanda schol and My one of
- 2:33Speaker 3: my most favorite movies ever, Center Stage and Carlos Marx
- 2:38Speaker 3: super Hot from It's Just Carlo Carlo Sorry, Carlo Mark
- 2:43Speaker 3: from The Wedding Bill. Oh right, he's real, he posts, Yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 3: he's got a first trap photos on this India sack.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Same thing, there's one of his like must hair. Did
- 2:58Speaker 1: we have this conversation on the podcast where we shared
- 3:01Speaker 1: that a listener had messaged us that we think hallmarks
- 3:06Speaker 1: She says, we agree. We've said essentially the same thing.
- 3:09Speaker 1: The Hallmark sometimes gives like the yearbook photo treatment to
- 3:12Speaker 1: yess actors. Yes, and that's definitely Carlo Marx definitely has
- 3:15Speaker 1: the high school yearbook photo treatment. Yeah, this is a
- 3:18Speaker 1: case where Instagram is greater than Hallmark correct as opposed
- 3:22Speaker 1: to Instagram versus reality. Yes, we love our Facebook group members,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and Mike from our Facebook group sent us the message
- 3:29Speaker 1: early this morning saying that he's like, gag stole your
- 3:32Speaker 1: idea and they've got their like Christmas movie bracket up.
- 3:36Speaker 2: On screen it out right now?
- 3:38Speaker 3: Is March?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Who cares about your Christmas movie bracket March.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Anyway, thanks Mike. I feel like we need to just
- 3:48Speaker 3: give Mike our phone numbers so he can just text
- 3:50Speaker 3: us because he's.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Our unofficial intern. I sounds very detailed thoughts via email
- 3:56Speaker 1: after every movie, and I really love it, especially a
- 4:00Speaker 1: movie like this one. Yeah, yeah, let's talk about a
- 4:04Speaker 1: synopsis for the Love Club.
- 4:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:08Speaker 3: So it's kind of confusing because listeners may or may
- 4:12Speaker 3: not know this is this movie is from a four
- 4:15Speaker 3: part series.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, can we print a retraction right now?
- 4:19Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 4:20Speaker 1: So in a past episode, I said that this was
- 4:24Speaker 1: part of a four part series and that all of
- 4:26Speaker 1: these movies had already been created, but I didn't know
- 4:28Speaker 1: when they'd be airing. And a fellow podcaster to your
- 4:31Speaker 1: Hallmark reached out and was like, hey, dummies. No, she
- 4:33Speaker 1: was lovely and kind. I added the dummies myself. I
- 4:38Speaker 1: do appreciate this kind of feedback and pointed out that
- 4:41Speaker 1: those movies actually already have been aired on the Hallmark
- 4:45Speaker 1: Movies now.
- 4:46Speaker 3: App Yeah, they're available now if you want to watch them. Yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 3: it sounds like Hallmark's just gonna air one of them
- 4:51Speaker 3: on the main channel.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah, this is like the Baby's breath of movies. It's
- 4:55Speaker 1: like a filler flower popped into the.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Schedule one hundred percent. Okay, So do you want this
- 5:01Speaker 3: synopsis like the overall? Like?
- 5:04Speaker 2: No, just this movie? Okay? Freshly engaged? First of all?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Who says freshly engaged?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Freshly engaged interior designer Nicole still wonders if the one
- 5:18Speaker 3: she's meant to be with is her mystery college pen
- 5:22Speaker 3: pal whose letters she has kept all these years.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I really need video for this episode so you can
- 5:26Speaker 1: truly get the depth of our disdain for this movie. Yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 1: let's talk news and notes.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Okay, I already said before. This is a four part
- 5:37Speaker 3: movie series. In addition to Nicole's Penpal, we have Sydney's Journey,
- 5:42Speaker 3: Lauren's Dream, and Terras Tune, which all sounds like an
- 5:45Speaker 3: American girl book.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yes that's not.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Nice. Of course, this movie does star Britney Bristow, who
- 5:56Speaker 1: has been in other Hallmark movies like A Tale of
- 5:59Speaker 1: Love of Her first starring Hallmark role was in A
- 6:03Speaker 1: Holiday Date.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I've never seen her in any Hallmark movie. I've been
- 6:07Speaker 3: watching Hallmark movies now for two years.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna tell you right now. I think Britney
- 6:15Speaker 1: Bristow and Marcus Rossner were served crap on a cracker.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Oh okay, I this was a serious disservice to these
- 6:24Speaker 1: two actors.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Okay, let's before we gena.
- 6:28Speaker 3: No, I'm just gonna say because I don't want the
- 6:31Speaker 3: haters to dm us. We know the hard work that
- 6:34Speaker 3: goes into these movies and the money that is spent.
- 6:37Speaker 3: We recognize all of that.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Point. I think these actors deserved better in this movie.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I'm knowledging the actors.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I agree with you, You're right, Okay, I just don't
- 6:49Speaker 4: the haters that come for us about how we are
- 6:53Speaker 4: mean to Hallmark people who make these movies.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yes, this was someone's job. Someone's spent their time creating me.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Hey, guess what, There's a lot of jobs I do
- 7:03Speaker 3: that I'm not great at either. So these were Shawn
- 7:07Speaker 3: in Ontario, Canada. M I mean, no surprise there. Jill
- 7:12Speaker 3: Carter directed. She has nineteen directing credits, including a couple
- 7:15Speaker 3: episodes of our one of our favorite TV shows ever.
- 7:20Speaker 2: The Bold Type.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Hey, that's so funny that you say that, because do
- 7:23Speaker 1: you think the movie posters for these movies look like
- 7:26Speaker 1: Bold Type promos?
- 7:28Speaker 3: It did feel very contemporary it didn't feel like a
- 7:31Speaker 3: Hallmark It felt very like Yeah, sex in the City Light.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I felt like it was very reminiscent of the Bold
- 7:38Speaker 1: type in their imaging for this movie. Hey, A standard
- 7:41Speaker 1: performance in this movie for me comes from Tyler Murray,
- 7:44Speaker 1: who plays Roy the Bartender. This is his first Hallmark movie,
- 7:47Speaker 1: although he does have thirty seven additional acting credits. Dare
- 7:52Speaker 1: I say it justice for Tyler?
- 7:55Speaker 3: I enjoyed him. He was a nice He.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Has the best line in the entire movie, which is
- 8:00Speaker 1: is did you have to pick the best looking guy
- 8:03Speaker 1: in town for this ruse?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Oh that's funny, It's great. He's talking about the yoga guy. Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Any more news and notes, my dear, I mean, let's
- 8:11Speaker 1: not forget our fellow lead actor Marcus Ross. Yes, he
- 8:16Speaker 1: has fifty acting credits from Hallmark, including Romance to the Rescue.
- 8:22Speaker 1: He is also in one episode of the new series
- 8:25Speaker 1: of Sex Life. He has three movies currently coming up,
- 8:30Speaker 1: Finding Mister Wright, Team Bride, and Christmas in Maple Hills,
- 8:33Speaker 1: which feels suspiciously like a Hallmark joint.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You think just that's you think they would have like
- 8:41Speaker 3: named a twenty twenty three Christmas movie already that's not
- 8:46Speaker 3: the Biltmore one.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Oh. I think they've named a number of them.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but we don't know any of them yet. I
- 8:52Speaker 3: guess we'll just have to wait and see.
- 8:53Speaker 1: We will have to wait and see.
- 8:55Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about what we like.
- 8:56Speaker 1: No, man, we need to do a first impression.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Oh, you're right, it's been a minute since we've done
- 9:01Speaker 3: one of these.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 9:03Speaker 1: My first impression is in all caps, she was engaged.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yes, I have thoughts on that. My first impression is
- 9:12Speaker 3: this maybe had one redeeming storyline one, tell me, okay one.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I assume that's in your likes it sure is?
- 9:21Speaker 3: Did you want to go first about likes? Yea, sure,
- 9:23Speaker 3: let's talk about that one. We'll just segue right in there.
- 9:25Speaker 3: The one redeeming storyline that I liked is when Nicole
- 9:29Speaker 3: finds the actual writer of the letters. Yeah, and he
- 9:34Speaker 3: tells her like he was going through his own shit
- 9:36Speaker 3: when he wrote those letters. And then we find out
- 9:39Speaker 3: that he isn't the same sex couple and it all
- 9:42Speaker 3: makes sense now.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he was working through some of his own things.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Right, And that was it was.
- 9:50Speaker 3: It felt very refreshing to me on the Hallmark Channel.
- 9:53Speaker 3: If I were to watch this on anything else, I
- 9:55Speaker 3: would have been like whatever, but like it was sure
- 9:58Speaker 3: it was a nice, nice little surprise. Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So unfortunately for me, the likes section of this episode
- 10:09Speaker 1: is pretty spare. But what I did like is the
- 10:12Speaker 1: origin story of their friendship.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Agree.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I thought that was great. Metoop. I like the way
- 10:17Speaker 1: these women came together.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yep, I have that in my likes as well.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And I think much like the wedding veil, one of
- 10:24Speaker 1: the things we liked about that was the relationship of
- 10:26Speaker 1: the friends. I like that. I like that we've got
- 10:28Speaker 1: these friends.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Who like show up for each other. Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 1: And I like that they're constant throughout the movie. They're there,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and I was much more invested in their relationship than
- 10:38Speaker 1: I was in the main love story in this movie.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And also, may I say, for continuity's sake, I love
- 10:45Speaker 1: their selfie that they took an actual, real selfie. I'm
- 10:48Speaker 1: surprised you didn't pull it out at the New Year's
- 10:51Speaker 1: Eve party, they're sitting outside, they take a phoe. I
- 10:54Speaker 1: see it and it later gets printed into a photo printed.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Unfortunately, you took my other like I mean I had one.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I like their friendship to you and that
- 11:04Speaker 3: I had a lot of potential, Yes, a lot of potential.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I agree, all right, this very likely could have been
- 11:13Speaker 3: the shortest like segment of a movie ever.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I think perhaps I did wrote and I mentioned earlier.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I like Britney Bristow and Marcus Rossner, and I actually
- 11:23Speaker 1: liked them on screen together. If I could have just
- 11:25Speaker 1: gotten past all of the other stuff that this movie
- 11:28Speaker 1: had working against it, I think that's a real shame,
- 11:31Speaker 1: because I do think they had chemistry together. I find
- 11:34Speaker 1: them both very enjoyable to watch on screen. I just
- 11:38Speaker 1: think they were dealta a bad hand.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Okay, you think their agent should have said, let's pass
- 11:43Speaker 3: on this one.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I think that there's a lot going on in the
- 11:48Speaker 1: creation of a movie, and I can't possibly know how
- 11:52Speaker 1: much information they have when deciding on these movies.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Do you think they just get the synopsis?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Because I don't hate the storyline of the One That
- 12:03Speaker 1: Got Away me neither, and I don't hate the storyline
- 12:06Speaker 1: of you know, I've always I just have always wondered
- 12:10Speaker 1: if this is all there is?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there's a.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Big piece that I can't get past in this.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk about it. We're moving towards it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Okay, let's talk about our wish and I wish that
- 12:20Speaker 1: we would stop writing stories with infidelity at the heart
- 12:23Speaker 1: of them. And this is not an accidental whoops, I
- 12:26Speaker 1: fell in love with my interior designer movie. This is
- 12:30Speaker 1: I am a woman who has just accepted a proposal.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I am actively engaged. I create this incredibly elaborate ruse
- 12:39Speaker 1: to go find this man who I think might be
- 12:41Speaker 1: the love of my life. That's an affair, that's at
- 12:46Speaker 1: the very least an emotional affair. That's a premeditated affair.
- 12:51Speaker 1: This is not I accidentally stumbled and whoops, I'm in
- 12:55Speaker 1: love with the coworker.
- 12:56Speaker 2: She was actively seeking out a better option.
- 13:01Speaker 1: And then goes on actual dates yes, with the not
- 13:06Speaker 1: at home and another man, And so there was no
- 13:11Speaker 1: need for the fiance to be in the picture. If
- 13:13Speaker 1: you had taken him out of the picture immediately, if
- 13:17Speaker 1: she had said at Thanksgiving, I'm sorry, I can't marry you,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and her friends are going what's happening On paper? He's
- 13:22Speaker 1: the perfect guy, and she says, you know, actually, I
- 13:26Speaker 1: just it didn't feel right right. There's so much more
- 13:29Speaker 1: in this movie that I can root for. I just
- 13:30Speaker 1: can't get excited about a movie where she's on the
- 13:32Speaker 1: phone lying to her fiance.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I agree, And let me just.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Say, can we please get the family friendly Hallmark crowd
- 13:41Speaker 1: to come for a movie like this?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Ah? Interesting, take Megan, because.
- 13:46Speaker 1: If you want to tell me that a movie that
- 13:48Speaker 1: features a monogamous same sex couple who are in a
- 13:54Speaker 1: consensual relationship with each other is somehow more controversial than
- 14:01Speaker 1: a woman who's actively seeking out a relationship while she's
- 14:06Speaker 1: engaged to a man, I think you need to have
- 14:08Speaker 1: a conversation with yourself about that. Thank you very well.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Clap, thank you very well, said thank you. I absolutely agree.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I wish that somebody, either like the writer or once
- 14:22Speaker 3: the script goes to somebody else after that, takes a
- 14:26Speaker 3: harder look at it and says, what's a way that
- 14:29Speaker 3: we can make this better so that that infidelity is
- 14:32Speaker 3: not at the heart of our story.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, I agree with you.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I don't like that either.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And we could have kept Warren in the storyline. We
- 14:41Speaker 1: could have still had him saying like reach out too, yeah, yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 1: talk to me, tell me what's going on, you know,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and her saying like it's They could have had conversations
- 14:54Speaker 1: like you did everything right on paper, it should have
- 14:56Speaker 1: made sense. I just I want to root for these couples,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and that's why watch these movies, right, I want to
- 15:02Speaker 1: I want a sweet little love story on my on
- 15:05Speaker 1: my TV.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Do you think that Hallmark is worried about making a
- 15:10Speaker 3: story telling or telling a story that is too complicated
- 15:15Speaker 3: in terms of like that's too much like real life,
- 15:18Speaker 3: so we don't want to go there, like meaning like
- 15:22Speaker 3: she were to actually break things off with the fiance
- 15:26Speaker 3: and then you know, like what.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You've heard picked less complicated.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I know, I understand, but like or maybe somebody at
- 15:33Speaker 3: Homewark is thinking like, oh, it feels more salacious if she's,
- 15:36Speaker 3: you know, cheating on her fiance.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I don't disagree. There's that intrigue there, and I just
- 15:42Speaker 1: don't like it. It's I'm just as a viewer, I'm
- 15:47Speaker 1: not excited about the lying. This is not an episode
- 15:51Speaker 1: of you on Netflix where I'm rooting for the bad guy, right,
- 15:56Speaker 1: That's not what we're about here. And I just the
- 16:00Speaker 1: whole time, we're supposed to be rooting for her to
- 16:02Speaker 1: find love, and I think it's really hard to root
- 16:06Speaker 1: for someone who's treating someone else. So badly.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I agree one wish I had and please this is
- 16:11Speaker 3: not woe on woman crime here, but I do feel
- 16:14Speaker 3: like we could have had a smarter lead character. And
- 16:20Speaker 3: hear me when I say character, not actor. I just
- 16:24Speaker 3: felt like she was like so naive and this like,
- 16:28Speaker 3: let me search after this guy who wrote these letters
- 16:32Speaker 3: and then got so upset because she wouldn't understand that
- 16:35Speaker 3: he didn't actually write the letters because he had this
- 16:38Speaker 3: he had dyslexia.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Is that right? Like it?
- 16:42Speaker 1: I hated this movie? Well, I think to your point,
- 16:45Speaker 1: what this movie suffers from is an old Hallmark trope
- 16:49Speaker 1: of miscommunication. When she finds out Josh wasn't the actual
- 16:54Speaker 1: author of the letters, he very quickly he's like, no,
- 16:58Speaker 1: but I did write those I did. Those were And
- 17:01Speaker 1: they don't have a conversation, and it takes days before
- 17:04Speaker 1: they get to the point where she finds out through
- 17:07Speaker 1: this third party that those were his thoughts, those were
- 17:10Speaker 1: his ideas. We could have gotten there in five minutes
- 17:15Speaker 1: if these two characters would just have a conversation.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Well, and let's talk about Josh for a second, dude, Like,
- 17:19Speaker 3: I mean, he's got a track record of being a
- 17:23Speaker 3: liar to no, Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 1: No lies on lies on lies in this movie bad
- 17:28Speaker 1: that he then invents this alternate dude, Why he wouldn't
- 17:34Speaker 1: just go to the actual person. Why wouldn't he because
- 17:39Speaker 1: it actually makes a lot more sense in the storyline
- 17:42Speaker 1: for him to go to the writer of these because
- 17:45Speaker 1: that person's happily in a relationship. Clear that all up,
- 17:49Speaker 1: this isn't the man you are looking for.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Look, I know.
- 17:52Speaker 3: The writer of this movie has written a ton of
- 17:55Speaker 3: other movies, like over sixty writing credits, and I I'm
- 18:00Speaker 3: here to say that I think Hallmark needs new writers
- 18:05Speaker 3: with a fresher take on life. Oh interesting, I'm not slamming.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I'm not slam I just think like some people who
- 18:14Speaker 3: write for Hallmark fall back on this, like the Hallmark trope,
- 18:19Speaker 3: like this is what we've always done. And I think
- 18:22Speaker 3: that Hallmark is making leaps and bounds towards a different
- 18:29Speaker 3: way of storytelling, and so let's all catch up, like,
- 18:34Speaker 3: let's all the movies catch up there.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Well, for me, I actually think some of our writing
- 18:39Speaker 1: and this is really fresh and light, and I like
- 18:42Speaker 1: the way that the friendship storylines weave in.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I just.
- 18:47Speaker 1: This happens sometimes where there's one part of a movie
- 18:50Speaker 1: that I can't get past, and it overshadows the entire
- 18:55Speaker 1: movie for me. And again it's the infidelity storyline. And
- 18:59Speaker 1: so I think we're Josh to just have had his lie, like, oh,
- 19:05Speaker 1: look she's here and this is my chance, and I
- 19:08Speaker 1: just need to get over this, get her, get this
- 19:12Speaker 1: other guy out of her system that would have maybe
- 19:15Speaker 1: not seen so egregious. Were we already not building this
- 19:19Speaker 1: precarious tower of life?
- 19:20Speaker 3: Right?
- 19:21Speaker 1: And I also wonder, you know what comes first when
- 19:26Speaker 1: the writer is writing this? Yes, like who's saying like,
- 19:29Speaker 1: here's the story? Now you need to create a script
- 19:32Speaker 1: out of this?
- 19:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 19:33Speaker 2: I did?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Does all of the idea belong to the writer?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Right? Okay, so let me let me correct this here.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I did see on IMDb that there was a somebody
- 19:43Speaker 3: credited for this story idea and then there was a writer.
- 19:46Speaker 3: So I'm not going to slam that writing. I think
- 19:49Speaker 3: maybe the original story idea is.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Tired. Tired?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Great? Yeah, send your emails to Megan and Wendy at
- 19:57Speaker 3: gmail dot com. I'm here for all right, did you
- 20:01Speaker 3: have any digit see that?
- 20:03Speaker 1: I have a question. And then I have a funny
- 20:06Speaker 1: moment from an actor on this movie. Okay. My first
- 20:09Speaker 1: question is is it inappropriate for a man to plan
- 20:13Speaker 1: a massage as a first date?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yes? Absolutely, Like, hello.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Consent, I'm not ready for you to be touching me.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I don't I know.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Why didn't she be like no, that's a terrible idea.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Like I know he's super hot, but yeah no, yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 1: that's but I do not want a man that I'm
- 20:29Speaker 1: going on a date with to give me a misty.
- 20:31Speaker 3: But in reality, that guy it was it was all
- 20:34Speaker 3: fake anyway. He wasn't like really into a hole, but
- 20:37Speaker 3: I think he kind of was.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I you think so?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yes, I think that's the point is that Josh hired
- 20:43Speaker 1: him to just get her out of get him out
- 20:49Speaker 1: of her system. And then the guy meets her and
- 20:51Speaker 1: he's like, well, I'm going to go for it. Because
- 20:54Speaker 1: Josh gets really upset, He's like what are you doing,
- 20:56Speaker 1: Like you're not supposed to actually date her, and he's like, well,
- 20:59Speaker 1: I'm going to turn it off, Like this is these
- 21:03Speaker 1: are the skills that I have at my disposal. I'm
- 21:05Speaker 1: a masseuse who's super hot. We're going to use that.
- 21:08Speaker 3: I mean, could you imagine if your spouse was a massuse?
- 21:11Speaker 3: How amazing would that be right?
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but if he's like, on our first day, please
- 21:15Speaker 1: lie down on this table and it make it, make it?
- 21:19Speaker 3: I'm out why, I mean, die me first at least right? Uh?
- 21:23Speaker 2: What was your other? What was your other?
- 21:26Speaker 1: Brittany Bristow tweeted funny story. On the first take of
- 21:29Speaker 1: storming out of the spa, I accidentally ran my face
- 21:32Speaker 1: into the camera.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Oh that's funny. Yeah, I mean I feel very kismet
- 21:39Speaker 3: with her. I am one to run into things a lot.
- 21:45Speaker 3: I only had one small did you see that? And
- 21:49Speaker 3: when I told Megan off Mic about it, She's like,
- 21:52Speaker 3: but that's normal. There was like a fake ass fireplace,
- 21:55Speaker 3: like it had like just a glow as the fire.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't know if I've ever seen that before in
- 22:01Speaker 2: a movie.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I don't know if I've seen it in a movie,
- 22:03Speaker 1: but I've seen them like in furniture stores.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yes, that's what it was like, like if you were
- 22:07Speaker 3: in a furniture store.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I mean you can buy those for your home. Oh god, yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 1: that's you don't have a chimney.
- 22:13Speaker 2: The other the other thing, and this was this is
- 22:16Speaker 2: just me.
- 22:18Speaker 3: The obese when they're like in college, I thought they
- 22:21Speaker 3: had like too much makeup on.
- 22:23Speaker 2: They were too made up to be college students?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Girl? Have you been on TikTok?
- 22:27Speaker 2: That's fair, It's absolutely fair.
- 22:31Speaker 3: But just like because we wanted them to look younger,
- 22:35Speaker 3: so I think they should have like I mean, I
- 22:36Speaker 3: know they tried with like her kids great and whatever. Yeah, whatever, fine, Okay,
- 22:41Speaker 3: I'm nitpicking at this point. Let's talk about what you
- 22:43Speaker 3: rated this movie.
- 22:44Speaker 2: One star me too, same.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm so sorry this was not good.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I am very excited for next week's movie.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Did you see the commercials for it by Eartheny Peaks?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yes, sneak Peaks are good.
- 22:58Speaker 3: I think I just dropped the F bomb quietly here,
- 23:03Speaker 3: Brooks Darnell.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Looks, Oh my gosh.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Right, uh, our listener in Canada please turn this down
- 23:10Speaker 3: because we might be screaming about the cast in this
- 23:13Speaker 3: next movie.
- 23:14Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's called The Game of Love? Who wrote it? It's
- 23:19Speaker 1: giving me?
- 23:19Speaker 3: Oh, it's giving me that Tyler Hines movie. Bye.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 1: The script is by Joey Elkins and Blake Silver. I
- 23:26Speaker 1: have yet to see Kimberly Sestad in something that I
- 23:28Speaker 1: didn't immediately fall head over heels in love with her
- 23:30Speaker 1: and then when I saw Brooks Darnell, who I have
- 23:33Speaker 1: enjoyed in the past on screen in this preview, I
- 23:36Speaker 1: was like, wowye lowiewie. So let me just say, very
- 23:42Speaker 1: excited this this movie, leaving it in the past, super
- 23:46Speaker 1: excited for Game of Love. But yes it is giving
- 23:49Speaker 1: me the twelve dates of Christmas.
- 23:50Speaker 3: So next week hopefully we'll have a better review for you. Hey.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So, currently behind the scenes in Girls Cone Hallwark, we
- 23:57Speaker 1: are discussing should we recap the show right? And uh,
