- 1:11Speaker 4: Yep, already, yep, when you're having fun.
- 1:16Speaker 5: How many more lawsuits have there been filed? Four since
- 1:19Speaker 5: we started? Probably probably four four probably.
- 1:26Speaker 4: I believe it.
- 1:27Speaker 5: It's fact now that was just since the commercial break,
- 1:31Speaker 5: since the commercial break.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Oh, you're gonna put rules on.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Us student athletes at work? I don't think so, not
- 1:40Speaker 5: the day, not on my watch. Sorry, Jake, didn't mean
- 1:50Speaker 5: to interrupt you.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Now you're good. How do how do you think the
- 1:56Speaker 3: NCAA feels when they do all this work and then
- 2:00Speaker 3: put it I say, all this word that's I don't know.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Sometimes in nc DOUBLE, I don't know if they do work,
- 2:05Speaker 3: but they put together this rule. Yeah, all right, and
- 2:08Speaker 3: it's got to pass so many people when they put
- 2:09Speaker 3: it out there, press release the whole deal. Champion for
- 2:12Speaker 3: it and like immediately they get sued and it's like.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We try, Yeah, how do you think how do I
- 2:19Speaker 2: think they feel? Yeah?
- 2:20Speaker 3: I bet they feel castrated? Absolutely, Yeah, all everything. That's
- 2:28Speaker 3: a no TV inside joke In case.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You're wondering, he said the quiet part out loud or
- 2:33Speaker 2: on your sorry.
- 2:34Speaker 3: You Bob had a misunderstanding one time.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet they feel cat like yeah that think
- 2:41Speaker 2: they're being chopped off.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Think how powerful they used to be. Like when we
- 2:45Speaker 3: were in school, It's like you didn't want to do
- 2:48Speaker 3: anything to get on their radar.
- 2:50Speaker 5: You You couldn't even go out and like have the
- 2:53Speaker 5: threat of somebody.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Pay for your sweet tea?
- 2:59Speaker 3: Can my uncle used to give me Like he would
- 3:06Speaker 3: come down and be like, hey, you need need some groceries.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Me let me get some groceries after you come watching
- 3:11Speaker 3: LSU game and like even that felt like, hey can
- 3:15Speaker 3: we can my my blood? Can we do this? Is
- 3:19Speaker 3: that okay? Like if my uncle buys me some groceries, yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 3: think about that, And that was that's real. That's where
- 3:24Speaker 3: it was that at that point.
- 3:26Speaker 5: So like like when when I was getting recruited, and
- 3:28Speaker 5: I'm sure the same thing happened to you they would
- 3:30Speaker 5: come to coaches would fly into spring training for our
- 3:33Speaker 5: high school whatever, and they would recruit. They were there
- 3:35Speaker 5: to share their support to recruit me or whoever else
- 3:38Speaker 5: is on the high school. And I remember distinctly coming
- 3:42Speaker 5: off the practice field and my coach called me over
- 3:45Speaker 5: and there was Mac Brown, there was Bob Stoops, there
- 3:50Speaker 5: was Nick Saban, there was Jimbo was there. There was
- 3:53Speaker 5: like five or six head coaches and it was a
- 3:56Speaker 5: dead period, so they could not speak to you. This
- 3:59Speaker 5: is the communication time. I went into the middle of
- 4:03Speaker 5: the circle and my head coach dictated, he want offered
- 4:07Speaker 5: your scholarship.
- 4:07Speaker 2: He went off for the scholarship.
- 4:09Speaker 5: He wants he wants you to come for a visit.
- 4:11Speaker 5: And like that's how it went. In the circle. They
- 4:13Speaker 5: could not speak to you.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Just sitting over there, he also and then raising their
- 4:17Speaker 3: hand like that's us.
- 4:18Speaker 5: It's like that they dictated they couldn't talk to you.
- 4:21Speaker 5: That was the rules, and no one, I mean the
- 4:24Speaker 5: rules were broken, okay, but like yeah, around other people,
- 4:28Speaker 5: they weren't breaking any rules. Yeah, like that was you
- 4:32Speaker 5: were scared of the NCAA, oh yeah, terrified.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Nobody thought to sue them, but.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Maybe attorneys back then just didn't.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Have to go well. I mean people like there was
- 4:41Speaker 3: some What was the was was Mike Williams, the USC
- 4:46Speaker 3: receiver that was trying to go into the NFL draft early.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Maurice Clarett tried to do it as well, after having
- 4:53Speaker 3: like a monster freshman year. But they tried to do
- 4:56Speaker 3: some of those things. They took Reggie Bush's heisman away. Yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 3: literally he got it back because yeah, I mean, I gotta.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Tell you, Reggie's a better man than me. No shot,
- 5:07Speaker 6: I'm giving that husband back. Ever, Yeah, I'm gonna be
- 5:10Speaker 6: like it is locked up in a safe in my house.
- 5:13Speaker 6: If you would like to try to come get it,
- 5:14Speaker 6: you were welcome to. You ain't getting it back.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I dare you to come get it.
- 5:18Speaker 7: Yeah, you ain't getting that.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Come and take it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Get some.
- 5:21Speaker 3: But now let's say that these cases hold up and
- 5:25Speaker 3: this this new rule goes away. Nancy double A's just
- 5:29Speaker 3: go away at that?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Well, I mean, what is it? Wasn't it Kirby that
- 5:33Speaker 2: was saying it?
- 5:33Speaker 5: A was it the coaches meeting se coaching meeting where
- 5:38Speaker 5: when he was interviewed he was like, I'd be all
- 5:41Speaker 5: for a new governing system like a new system, like
- 5:44Speaker 5: we start our own governing system. Now, I probably put
- 5:49Speaker 5: a lot more certainty into those words than Kirby did.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I think they were just alluding to that conversation. And
- 5:54Speaker 5: when he first said it, I was like, what was
- 5:55Speaker 5: he talking about? That's that's dumb. But the more I
- 5:58Speaker 5: started thinking about it, I was like, Yeah, if you
- 6:00Speaker 5: could start your own like branch off and start your
- 6:04Speaker 5: own deal and have an overseer like a commissioner of that, yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 5: who's making the right rules and actually be able to
- 6:11Speaker 5: enforce it because you know, you're an actual league and
- 6:16Speaker 5: you create a CBA and all this stuff, Like, yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 5: you should do that. Like these attorneys just said it
- 6:21Speaker 5: in their verbiage, like it's these student athletes there, it's
- 6:25Speaker 5: going to limit their time that they can work, right, Hey,
- 6:29Speaker 5: do you work at something that's not a profession. No,
- 6:32Speaker 5: it's it's your job. So this is, you know, professional athletics.
- 6:36Speaker 5: They are viewing themselves as employees. So I would be
- 6:43Speaker 5: all for them, Like, yeah, if these lawsuits do go
- 6:46Speaker 5: and they have no validity to this five year thing
- 6:50Speaker 5: that they just passed and got what eighteen lawsuits within
- 6:53Speaker 5: or fifteen lawsuits within eighteen hours of this rule coming in,
- 6:58Speaker 5: and like Taylor said, like those attorneys had these lawsuits
- 7:01Speaker 5: ready to roll, Like you.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Just can't just file a lawsuit that fast. I don't think, uh,
- 7:06Speaker 3: what do you mean? You don't think you're supposed to
- 7:07Speaker 3: be our law expert?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Is an attorney be really challenging.
- 7:14Speaker 3: It's like they're Yeah, these lawyers that are doing like
- 7:16Speaker 3: they're they're not scared at all, Like think about it,
- 7:19Speaker 3: think about it immediately, they're like, oh, yeah, we know
- 7:22Speaker 3: he's coming sue, well win. What are they gonna do? Nobody,
- 7:26Speaker 3: No one is challenging anybody right now. You sue the
- 7:32Speaker 3: n c double A, you win, it goes away and
- 7:35Speaker 3: the n CUBA has to go back to Indie with
- 7:37Speaker 3: their you know tailtop between.
- 7:39Speaker 5: The So what did we say yesterday or when or
- 7:42Speaker 5: two days ago when Britain Sowarsby's was like, yeah we'll
- 7:44Speaker 5: just sue the NFL, we were like, good luck with that,
- 7:47Speaker 5: have fun with that. Yeah, that's what it needs to
- 7:49Speaker 5: be like for the NCAAA. Oh you're going to sue
- 7:51Speaker 5: the NCAA. Yeah right, good luck? Right, you're exactly right now,
- 7:55Speaker 5: it's exactly yeah, they should definitely suit the NCAA because
- 7:58Speaker 5: they'll win.
- 7:58Speaker 3: They'll win. Yeah, the NFL like exactly what, you buddy.
- 8:01Speaker 3: You won't even get to their top lawyers. So you'll
- 8:04Speaker 3: get to the guys that are in the fourteenth floor,
- 8:06Speaker 3: not the penthouse, and they're going to beat you up
- 8:10Speaker 3: in court. The Shield ain't gonna lose. That's how we
- 8:13Speaker 3: used to feel about the n c Double A. Now
- 8:14Speaker 3: it's like, shut up, do what I want. That's the
- 8:19Speaker 3: feeling that people are saying to the nub A.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, beat it, nerd. So the NCAA is the nerd
- 8:26Speaker 2: in the situation.
- 8:28Speaker 3: La who is the heir?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, the Shield is like the mouse. You ain't gonna
- 8:33Speaker 2: beat the mouse.
- 8:34Speaker 5: And NCAA should be like the governing body of college
- 8:38Speaker 5: athletics should be like that because it's such a big entity.
- 8:42Speaker 3: It's the governing body that doesn't govern. If you think
- 8:47Speaker 3: about what they're actually doing and what is that? What
- 8:50Speaker 3: do they do? They throw march madness, what else? Because
- 8:56Speaker 3: the playoff has nothing to do with the NCAA and football.
- 9:00Speaker 7: It's the committed.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Who are they? It's like the Illuminati.
- 9:08Speaker 8: I think the NFL is more like the Illuminati than
- 9:10Speaker 8: the Double A because they started just sending out letters.
- 9:14Speaker 4: They're watch out, don't get Brendan.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll tell you what. My favorite thing so far
- 9:25Speaker 3: that like anybody is done in the source deal was
- 9:29Speaker 3: the NFL using the language take accountability in the letter
- 9:35Speaker 3: to him. Oh, I mean it was whoever wrote that letter,
- 9:39Speaker 3: well done, guys. There's a lot of like a lot
- 9:44Speaker 3: of times nobody would use that verbage. But they're like, hey,
- 9:47Speaker 3: but you you messed up, Like you're gonna have to
- 9:51Speaker 3: take some of this, be accountable for it, because that's
- 9:54Speaker 3: like that's how the NFL works. They're not going to
- 9:56Speaker 3: sugarcoat it.
- 9:57Speaker 5: Or even if it's a stock speech we always make
- 10:02Speaker 5: fun of, like the stock speech, he didn't mean it,
- 10:03Speaker 5: like somebody wrote that for him, blah blah blah.
- 10:06Speaker 2: But at least it's something mm hmm. You got it,
- 10:09Speaker 2: you got it.
- 10:10Speaker 3: But I liked it. I felt different than just I
- 10:14Speaker 3: felt very pointed to the temple it should be. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 3: it felt.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Very pointed, and like this whole thing is very pointed,
- 10:19Speaker 5: Like they canceled the supplemental draft to keep him out,
- 10:22Speaker 5: like it was not an accident, and whether it was
- 10:25Speaker 5: against the CBA or not, we aren't the ones that
- 10:29Speaker 5: expertly tell you that.
- 10:30Speaker 2: But let's just say it was. NFL is like this.
- 10:33Speaker 3: They're like, bring it on in the way something metal
- 10:36Speaker 3: draft works. If nobody makes a claim, then they don't.
- 10:38Speaker 3: They don't hold the draft, so you don't have to
- 10:40Speaker 3: even cancel it. But they basically to your point, they
- 10:42Speaker 3: kind of said, nobody can make Yeah, no, nobody's yeah
- 10:45Speaker 3: because we know the Browns might. I don't know. Hey,
- 10:49Speaker 3: maybe our guy Monking is changing that.
- 10:53Speaker 5: You're right, Maybe I keep forgetting that Monk and is there, Yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 5: that is our guy.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I love Monking It Drew.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Berry and Jimmy have I'm still there though.
- 11:02Speaker 5: That's a good point, like how much power does anybody
- 11:04Speaker 5: really have?
- 11:06Speaker 6: Hey, normally I get a lawy irritated when these lawyers
- 11:10Speaker 6: and judges or whatever just constantly rule it against the NCAA.
- 11:13Speaker 6: It made me smile when I saw Somersby's lawyers say
- 11:15Speaker 6: we're gonna sue the NFL. I was like, I can't
- 11:17Speaker 6: wait to see all this. I can't wait to see
- 11:20Speaker 6: the outcome.
- 11:21Speaker 5: It made me kind of smile, Like hearing the story
- 11:24Speaker 5: about the basketball athletes sue and the NCAA for the
- 11:27Speaker 5: eligibility rule. They just came out with we can't, Like
- 11:29Speaker 5: we talked about it yesterday. How like any rule is
- 11:31Speaker 5: a good rule to me, Like, just start implementing rules.
- 11:33Speaker 5: It's great, it's gonna fix it. But like, can you
- 11:35Speaker 5: really fix it at this point or does it have
- 11:38Speaker 5: to be so broken? Does it have to get so
- 11:41Speaker 5: broken that that's the only way to fix it, to
- 11:45Speaker 5: break it so bad that you gotta something's got to
- 11:48Speaker 5: rise from the ashes, like a whole new entity, And
- 11:53Speaker 5: like if these law suits work, yeah they is there?
- 11:58Speaker 5: Is there any other Is there any other option that
- 12:00Speaker 5: anybody sees for the longevity of college athletics then for
- 12:05Speaker 5: a new entity? Nope, a brand new government.
- 12:09Speaker 3: If this doesn't, if they lose this one again.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Because it was change because we said the same thing
- 12:16Speaker 5: about if he played for Texas Tech this year, and
- 12:19Speaker 5: I was like, well, if you're gonna do it, do it,
- 12:21Speaker 5: break it, break it bad. And so Texas Tech kind
- 12:26Speaker 5: of cover the NCAA's ass on that one, and they're like,
- 12:29Speaker 5: we'll do it for you because you're probably not gonna
- 12:31Speaker 5: do it. We got this, we got you, and we'll
- 12:34Speaker 5: do it well. We'll quote unquote mutually part ways with
- 12:39Speaker 5: swords be yeah, and so okay, we kind of swept
- 12:43Speaker 5: that under the rug, all right, whatever, But now these
- 12:46Speaker 5: new lawsuits, it's like, man, I don't there's no coming back.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Nope. So we'll see because.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Then then what's off the table? Nothing, everything's on the table.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Do whatever we want.
- 12:58Speaker 5: You just you just finally you grew a pair and
- 13:03Speaker 5: you set a rule. Yeah, and within twenty four hours?
- 13:07Speaker 3: And how do you not have a lawyer at the
- 13:11Speaker 3: n C double A? That's any good? Like, where's your
- 13:15Speaker 3: Harvey Spector? Where's he at? You're Mike Ross, Like, okay,
- 13:22Speaker 3: Sue us, I don't care. I'm gonna beat your you
- 13:25Speaker 3: know what in the courtroom. Where's that guy? I think
- 13:32Speaker 3: they have one on retainer. They don't, I guess because
- 13:38Speaker 3: they're not taking any chances in the courtroom.
- 13:43Speaker 5: I feel like they could. They do have, like a
- 13:44Speaker 5: guy named Harvey though somewhere high it'll be.
- 13:48Speaker 7: First or last name, either one.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Yeah, he's in there, right, I like to see Harvey
- 13:54Speaker 5: seems like a older person's name. Harvey Spector the exception
- 14:01Speaker 5: of the rule, I think, so yeah, it seems like
- 14:09Speaker 5: was it a was it a batman?
- 14:11Speaker 2: Detectives Harvey.
- 14:13Speaker 3: That's Tuesday.
- 14:15Speaker 2: We got there. Yeah this guy, well I got there.
- 14:22Speaker 3: He did, right, Alandra.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Eventually?
- 14:29Speaker 7: Yeah, you had the movie right, I'll give you that.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Uh that rise like the Undertaker. All right, Before we
- 14:41Speaker 3: take this break, when remind you about our friends of

- 15:14Speaker 4: Wait?
- 15:14Speaker 3: What is that?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Hold on? It's a drum line? Okay, where's that.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Are coming from?
- 15:21Speaker 7: My computer?
- 15:22Speaker 3: Are you watching drum line?
- 15:24Speaker 7: I don't know what's on?
- 15:26Speaker 3: Wait?

- 15:30Speaker 7: You must have sound. I've never heard the sound on.

- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Plican Roof, they like Pilican Roofing, pilkerroof dot COM's
- 16:03Speaker 3: website in Lafayette, in Baton Rouge. Boots on the ground
- 16:05Speaker 3: in both locations. Well, I always say that because they're
- 16:08Speaker 3: not driving back and forth on the basin. That's important
- 16:11Speaker 3: because they're there in Lafayette, they're there in Baton Rouge,
- 16:13Speaker 3: they're there in those local communities. They've always got something
- 16:16Speaker 3: going on like the Mother's Day roof giveaway. Veterans Day

- 16:21Speaker 3: single year as well. So they have boots on the
- 16:24Speaker 3: ground in the community. And then you know what they
- 16:26Speaker 3: are in the roofing game. How do you know? Because
- 16:28Speaker 3: there's over six hundred and five star reviews as soon

- 18:27Speaker 1: Wow?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Wow?
- 18:28Speaker 7: Come oh.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Didn't we watch that last night?
- 18:35Speaker 3: No? What movie is it? You had a major impact
- 18:38Speaker 3: on him?
- 18:42Speaker 2: What team was it about?
- 18:44Speaker 4: The Cobbs Rookie of the Year.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, gardener, it's rise. First time watching.
- 18:51Speaker 5: That's right, you said that was your top you it

- 19:00Speaker 10: Is my favorite movie with the Sam Law?
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yes, and you said, and you said a Little big League?
- 19:06Speaker 4: Well, yeah, that's true.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Those are the top those are the top three.
- 19:09Speaker 3: God, I hated how they lost in a Little big
- 19:11Speaker 3: League though, take me off.
- 19:13Speaker 2: And Griff is good, so good you have to rob
- 19:17Speaker 2: that he have to. They could have won.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 19:21Speaker 5: I got a lot of movies, the baseball movies from
- 19:23Speaker 5: the nineties. The movies end like they won the championship,
- 19:27Speaker 5: but they really did.
- 19:28Speaker 3: They didn't.
- 19:29Speaker 2: They just the Cubs made it, just made the playoffs.
- 19:30Speaker 3: One yeah, yeah, major major League. They won the they
- 19:34Speaker 3: won the division title, the wildcard.
- 19:36Speaker 6: Yeah they got they got into the playoffs. They won
- 19:38Speaker 6: the division title.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I think angels in the outfield. They won the Pennant.
- 19:43Speaker 5: But did they win? What happened in the World Series?
- 19:47Speaker 6: Right?
- 19:47Speaker 5: Like I want to know that this season just ends,
- 19:50Speaker 5: just end, But they celebrate like everything, like at least
- 19:53Speaker 5: in a little big league.
- 19:53Speaker 2: You got closure.
- 19:57Speaker 6: Little big League's good. It's good, very similar vibes rooky
- 20:00Speaker 6: of very good.
- 20:01Speaker 2: There is a scene in there that lace and are like,
- 20:06Speaker 2: we gotta fast forward.
- 20:09Speaker 5: And little big Ley, Yeah, he's in the hotel room
- 20:13Speaker 5: for the first time by himself, discovers skin them ACX.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Basically yeah, I was like, m.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I watched this as a kid, this scene.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Don't remember it well? I mean to be fair when
- 20:30Speaker 3: when we were children, like we were a little grittier.
- 20:36Speaker 2: No, they didn't.
- 20:38Speaker 8: Rookie of the Year is legendary. I think that's my
- 20:42Speaker 8: favorite baseball movie. Like I love The Sandlot, but I
- 20:46Speaker 8: love Bull Durham too, But kid baseball movies love Rookie.
- 20:51Speaker 7: What's the big Mets hitter? Is it Hano? He's like
- 20:58Speaker 7: he's like grinding the wood shavings are coming off of it.
- 21:03Speaker 7: I think it's Hana. I think that's your.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Growing up Little Little Big League was my favorite growing up.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I watched that a lot over and over. Sam Lot
- 21:13Speaker 5: Rookie of the Year was my probably my third.
- 21:16Speaker 2: But I don't know why.
- 21:17Speaker 8: It's like one A, one B for me. And then
- 21:21Speaker 8: I liked the second sand Lot because it was softball.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I didn't realize the Rookie of the Year had Julie
- 21:29Speaker 2: the Cat in it as well.
- 21:34Speaker 3: What does she play?
- 21:34Speaker 2: She's the love interest.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Really, I never even noticed that.
- 21:41Speaker 4: I guess I don't know who Julie the Cat is.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Oh yeah, sorry, yeah e two right.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, she's the one that should have started over
- 21:50Speaker 2: gold over Goldberg.
- 21:51Speaker 7: Butch hay do. But that's that's that's the better he's
- 21:57Speaker 7: he do.
- 21:59Speaker 4: She looks like hateen hands here a little bit, well
- 22:02Speaker 4: at least like as a kid. They both look.
- 22:05Speaker 3: I mean, the best baseball movie of all time is
- 22:07Speaker 3: major League?
- 22:08Speaker 7: Yeah, major League is good. I like Moneyball was good.
- 22:13Speaker 3: M hmm, that was good. Still going major League?
- 22:17Speaker 2: What did I see recently? Major League just hit? It's like,
- 22:21Speaker 2: is this was.
- 22:22Speaker 7: Actually two days ago?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Huh?
- 22:24Speaker 7: It was two days ago? Is the thirty year?
- 22:26Speaker 3: I think? I mean, like the Oak like from the
- 22:30Speaker 3: very beginning, is that you, Tolbert, my knees are killing me.
- 22:35Speaker 3: If you're gonna pull this, at least you could have
- 22:36Speaker 3: said you're from the Yankees. It's electric. Jake Taylor shout out, wow.
- 22:43Speaker 7: Major League was eighty nine.
- 22:46Speaker 5: I saw that a far too young, way too young.
- 22:52Speaker 5: But again our parents didn't really care as much, right
- 22:55Speaker 5: to not as long as there wasn't actually like actual
- 22:59Speaker 5: like nudity. And then it was the content of what
- 23:02Speaker 5: they were talking about didn't really matter quite as far
- 23:04Speaker 5: calls Lou Brown.
- 23:05Speaker 6: He's not even coaching. He's working in the shop, and
- 23:07Speaker 6: he's like, you're gonna coach the Indians.
- 23:09Speaker 2: He's like, I don't know.
- 23:13Speaker 9: I got another guy on the other line about some
- 23:15Speaker 9: white walls.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to carry you back.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Charlie. Whoever came up with that concept of the movie.
- 23:23Speaker 3: That's good, that's great, it's very good. All the characters
- 23:26Speaker 3: like so many different ones.
- 23:28Speaker 6: But well, and then and then Rachel Philips, she's trying
- 23:30Speaker 6: to create the worst team everything, like I've never heard
- 23:31Speaker 6: of these guys.
- 23:32Speaker 7: And he's like, this guy here's dead. She's like, cross
- 23:34Speaker 7: him off the list.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Then is that? How is that how the Cleveland Browns work?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Absolutely everything included.
- 23:42Speaker 7: He has them set up there.
- 23:43Speaker 5: He's like, work for the Indians, worked for the Well,
- 23:45Speaker 5: I saw that documentary back in eighty seven.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Eighty nine.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Well, you'll be proud to know that team Flant holding
- 23:57Speaker 5: it down. We are very on purposefully showing our children
- 24:03Speaker 5: movies from the nineties.
- 24:05Speaker 2: That's when movies were real movies.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Enough of that YouTube, Hey huck, real quick, what positions
- 24:15Speaker 3: did we play last night.
- 24:18Speaker 10: Last night I played second base, right field, and third base.
- 24:26Speaker 2: All right, A boy, there we go moving around corner.
- 24:30Speaker 3: How do we do it to play?
- 24:33Speaker 10: I two RB eyes I was Yeah. The first one,
- 24:38Speaker 10: I hit it straight to the like in the middle
- 24:40Speaker 10: of first and second basement. I got out, but I
- 24:43Speaker 10: scored a run.
- 24:44Speaker 3: It's called doing a job.
- 24:46Speaker 10: The second one, I hit it straight down the middle
- 24:49Speaker 10: to center field, and I got another RB.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I there and made it to first Nace.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Being the lead over here, I don't know.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I just got it swinging a hot bat.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Pee and Pete, well done, well done. It's a great night.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Thank you. What position did you like the best? Out
- 25:09Speaker 4: of the ones that you played.
- 25:12Speaker 10: The ones that I played, I like second base.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Okay, I should ask you that, and what you want
- 25:22Speaker 5: to play? You said the second he's big first base.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Mean he likes to play first base. They got a
- 25:27Speaker 5: lot of first basements on the team.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Oh really, Yeah, that's good because typically fun. That's a
- 25:31Speaker 3: that's a tough one to get the right combination.
- 25:35Speaker 4: I think there's like.
- 25:36Speaker 10: Three including me first basements.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Yeah, a little summer ball. A lot of people playing.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Some more people playing summer ball than I thought. There
- 25:45Speaker 5: would be cold. I had to park out on the
- 25:47Speaker 5: grass far away.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Is it cold out there?
- 25:49Speaker 10: Yeah, we had to the grass.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so cold.
- 25:54Speaker 3: I just said, the lottest place in America is the
- 25:57Speaker 3: baseball field during summer ball.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Well, we didn't played a seven ten, so it was
- 26:01Speaker 5: a little bit cooled off. Seventeen is kind of I mean,
- 26:06Speaker 5: I'm not gonna talk to you. You didn't you started
- 26:08Speaker 5: a game at ten fifteen the other night, But like seventeen,
- 26:10Speaker 5: you gotta see a lot of yawns from the parents.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Dude, that ten to fifteen game feels like a bad
- 26:17Speaker 3: Dreams fever dreams point. Hey, you're gonna shut off at
- 26:24Speaker 3: eleven oh five? Whatever, y'all gotta be finished. You gotta
- 26:29Speaker 3: be finished. Pictures taken. Oh, there was no like our
- 26:33Speaker 3: coaches like, here's the rings, stew them on the ground,
- 26:35Speaker 3: grab one and let's go back to baton.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Rouge any like cookie cake or anything like a celebration. Congratulations,
- 26:44Speaker 5: nothing down, we'll later.
- 26:45Speaker 3: We'll do that later, coach. I was just worried about
- 26:50Speaker 3: I can't tell you how many people asked me from
- 26:54Speaker 3: our team and from the other more from the other team.
- 26:56Speaker 3: So you're gonna be at OTV in the morning.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, y'all, do you do radio?
- 27:01Speaker 3: And I said, oh, don't worry. That was the first
- 27:03Speaker 3: question that Matt asked.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Yeah, like this, this whole Memphis playing in this tournament's
- 27:07Speaker 5: cool and all. But you know, winning championships, world championships,
- 27:11Speaker 5: that's pretty cool. But you can be on local radio tomorrow.
- 27:19Speaker 3: And also not like trying to really hide it either.
- 27:25Speaker 5: You were Yeah, no, pretty blunt. Well, we're adults. We
- 27:28Speaker 5: can get right to the point. No reason to church
- 27:32Speaker 5: it up any effects. When you're not here. I wake
- 27:37Speaker 5: up about thirty to forty five minutes earlier to get
- 27:41Speaker 5: her earlier. That dude, it sounds like y'all talked about
- 27:43Speaker 5: a lot of golf too, Like you're ready. Well, I
- 27:45Speaker 5: get it, and I prep I write things down. But
- 27:48Speaker 5: the problem is is I my notebook here. I'll have
- 27:50Speaker 5: like different topics to talk about. Yeah, and then about
- 27:53Speaker 5: eight to fifteen comes around, all these topics scratched out.
- 27:57Speaker 3: They're done, they're done, they're toasted.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Sometimes we blow through a couple of them in the
- 28:02Speaker 2: same segment.
- 28:04Speaker 3: See that's what you can't do. Well, you can't do that.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm not a pro.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I don't know I mean, you've been in this now
- 28:12Speaker 3: for a year.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if I get there.
- 28:15Speaker 3: So when do you get professional status? It's a good question,
- 28:24Speaker 3: That's why I asked it.
- 28:25Speaker 2: It's just like, you know, you have to reach a
- 28:27Speaker 2: certain skill set or is it just like the time
- 28:29Speaker 2: you put in?
- 28:30Speaker 3: Is it?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Are we taking jiu jitsu or taking taekwondo on here?
- 28:34Speaker 3: I don't know the difference.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Well, huh. I think like in one of them, you
- 28:40Speaker 2: were you were. I think in one of them it's
- 28:42Speaker 2: just like karate. Sorry, yeah, what's the difference. I can't
- 28:51Speaker 2: wait for this.
- 28:53Speaker 7: I can't either. I'm excited.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I want to be like.
- 28:57Speaker 5: I think one of them is like the only you
- 29:00Speaker 5: put in the time, Okay, you get the belt. One
- 29:03Speaker 5: of them is like you got to put the time in.
- 29:05Speaker 5: But the neils I have to like, yeah, that's a
- 29:08Speaker 5: skill level to get the belt. Yeah, okay, but also
- 29:14Speaker 5: as is not well yeah, they're not the same fighting technique.
- 29:22Speaker 3: We do have a an update on the Rookie of
- 29:24Speaker 3: the Year.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Uh my little brother who's listening to the show, just
- 29:28Speaker 3: sent me a screenshot of the final scene of Rookie
- 29:32Speaker 3: of the Year. Henry row and Gardner puts his hand
- 29:36Speaker 3: in the air in the camera and it's the World
- 29:39Speaker 3: Series chance.
- 29:41Speaker 8: True, because he's like, he goes back to the little
- 29:43Speaker 8: league game and yeah, but why.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Didn't that so why didn't we get to watch the
- 29:47Speaker 2: playoff run?
- 29:48Speaker 3: But you only got so many times because that was
- 29:51Speaker 3: just an hour to happen. You're trying to get a
- 29:54Speaker 3: two hour, thirty minute Martin Scorsese Rookie of the Year.
- 29:57Speaker 2: And let me say something, I don't know if I
- 29:59Speaker 2: believe that because that team, that team.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Was asked without him, they were struggling and.
- 30:07Speaker 5: He couldn't pitch after that, right, They were absolute garbage
- 30:10Speaker 5: before he got there. True, and then he didn't play
- 30:14Speaker 5: in there. You're gonna tell me they made a playoff
- 30:16Speaker 5: run to the World Series.
- 30:18Speaker 4: I know he had to like really come up with
- 30:21Speaker 4: some tricks to win that one game.
- 30:22Speaker 2: The one that like to get out of the night.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Yeah, hat to look at his full of gloves. His
- 30:27Speaker 3: mom's say, yeah, she was like.
- 30:30Speaker 7: It's yours floated float.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you're not going to convince me that the Cubs
- 30:38Speaker 5: made that run in nineteen ninety two.
- 30:40Speaker 3: I'm just telling you. Henry Rue and Gardner at the berry.
- 30:42Speaker 3: He does know that's playing it. He's like booming.
- 30:48Speaker 2: That is true. Yeah, I did notice that.
- 30:50Speaker 4: They asked, did Henry ever get that boat working though?
- 30:52Speaker 3: With his butt?
- 30:52Speaker 8: Yeah, there's like a scene where they get on the
- 30:54Speaker 8: boat and they make up because they got in a fight.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and then he comes back after the Pepsi commercial
- 31:00Speaker 4: and all that.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that boat won't work for long though. No fee
- 31:03Speaker 2: smoking everywhere, so much smoke.
- 31:05Speaker 3: And then Harry Rowan Gardner went on to be an
- 31:09Speaker 3: American pie.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you did.
- 31:13Speaker 3: So, which in the moment meant a lot.
- 31:17Speaker 2: In that moment, it meant a lot. It meant a lot.

- 33:54Speaker 3: A Remember we said we're committing to Turkey.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well they played neck I didn't see that.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Did they sing it?
- 34:06Speaker 2: They did sing it?
- 34:07Speaker 3: They did?
- 34:07Speaker 5: Okay, they substituted Tiger with Eagle because of America. I
- 34:16Speaker 5: don't know if it hit like you know, I don't

- 34:32Speaker 7: Mean that that's got to be true.

- 34:49Speaker 2: not just many people, but certainly they did it.
- 34:53Speaker 3: They did it. The US fans have been great. They
- 34:55Speaker 3: were great last night. They were loud, cheered the whole game,
- 34:59Speaker 3: even after the loss. Still there for the Fellas and
- 35:03Speaker 3: hopefully it's the same situation in Santa Clara at the
- 35:06Speaker 3: Artist formerly known as Levi Stadium because they can't call
- 35:09Speaker 3: it Levi Stadium because they're not sponsored at FIFA said
- 35:13Speaker 3: they had to cover up the all the Levi logos
- 35:15Speaker 3: get out of here. Yeah, you will see a magic
- 35:19Speaker 3: tricky watch Taylor's desk go up without him touching it.
- 35:23Speaker 3: ESPN ranks the best defensive players in college football. LSU
- 35:27Speaker 3: safety Tie Benefield comes in at number six, the highest
- 35:31Speaker 3: rated safety on the list.

- 35:35Speaker 3: What your dest just do that?
- 35:38Speaker 2: That is literally but you're gonna do it once your guy.
- 35:41Speaker 6: I know, I wanted to. I wanted to, uh Griffin's
- 35:45Speaker 6: middle name. I wanted it to be Tied Benefield. Ye,
- 35:47Speaker 6: Victoria is like too long. So I said, okay, well
- 35:50Speaker 6: you're gonna regret that come September. I'm just letting you
- 35:52Speaker 6: know now. No, I'm I mean, I've been super excited
- 35:55Speaker 6: about this guy really since he entered the portal, just
- 35:58Speaker 6: because there's nothing he can't do.
- 36:00Speaker 7: He's sixty three, he's two hundred pounds.
- 36:02Speaker 6: I mean, the guy had two hundred and thirty tackles
- 36:03Speaker 6: in three seasons in Boise State, eighteen tackles for a loss.
- 36:08Speaker 6: He played more snaps over the past three years than
- 36:12Speaker 6: anyone in the entire Mountain West. And that's a defense
- 36:15Speaker 6: and special teams. He played almost four hundred special team snaps.
- 36:18Speaker 6: I mean, the versatility this guy gives you on defense
- 36:21Speaker 6: is awesome. Like, Yeah, when he first entered the portal,
- 36:24Speaker 6: that's why I wanted him so bad. I was like,
- 36:26Speaker 6: first off, this guy might be the best overall player
- 36:28Speaker 6: in the portal. And it allows the Shawn Spears to
- 36:31Speaker 6: move down to Star Matt's favorite position, which I think
- 36:34Speaker 6: he is Taylor made for that spot. I think he's
- 36:36Speaker 6: gonna be awesome there, and it gives you another veteran
- 36:40Speaker 6: presence back there in the back end of the defense
- 36:42Speaker 6: who can come up and make tackles at the line
- 36:44Speaker 6: of scrimmage. Like this makes a lot of sense in
- 36:46Speaker 6: being on this list.
- 36:48Speaker 3: He's a player that you've been the most excited about.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I mean throughout this entire process, and LSU added a
- 36:54Speaker 3: ton of players through the transfer portal, but this is
- 36:57Speaker 3: the player that Taitay's been the most excited about. And
- 37:00Speaker 3: you go over across the Ponderosa, you talk with coaches
- 37:02Speaker 3: and players that are on that team and they will
- 37:05Speaker 3: back up what Tata is saying. And so now you've
- 37:08Speaker 3: got a defensive backfield. It's gonna have DJ Pickett to
- 37:11Speaker 3: Marcus Cooley, Todd Benefield, and PJ Woodland. And then like
- 37:15Speaker 3: you said, Deshaun Spear is going to be the star
- 37:18Speaker 3: in that as well. That is that's as good as
- 37:21Speaker 3: you've had in a long time. And the totality of
- 37:23Speaker 3: the group, that's a really good group. And last year's
- 37:27Speaker 3: group was good as well too, because I think when
- 37:30Speaker 3: you look at aj Halsey, he was awesome. I think
- 37:33Speaker 3: he's going to be a really good pro. But I
- 37:34Speaker 3: say this one might be a little bit better because
- 37:37Speaker 3: DJ Pickett now is not a freshman now, he's a sophomore,
- 37:40Speaker 3: so he like that adds to the development of the
- 37:43Speaker 3: dB room because he was out there starting as a
- 37:46Speaker 3: true freshman. You know this, when you're a freshman man,
- 37:49Speaker 3: you are drinking out of a fire hose. Everything is
- 37:52Speaker 3: going on and you're just trying to figure out what
- 37:54Speaker 3: do I have to do? And then you kind of
- 37:56Speaker 3: turn into the I'm going to memorize things because I
- 37:59Speaker 3: don't have time to learn it because you're literally like
- 38:02Speaker 3: you are trying to figure out what is what, what's up,
- 38:05Speaker 3: what's down, and also do your job. When you're a sophomore,
- 38:09Speaker 3: you have a real offseason to learn what you're supposed
- 38:12Speaker 3: to be doing, learn your assignment, learn your teammates, and
- 38:15Speaker 3: you're not because I know for me, maybe it's different
- 38:17Speaker 3: for other people. When I was a freshman, I just
- 38:20Speaker 3: memorized what I had to do because I didn't want
- 38:23Speaker 3: to have a misassignment. I wanted to be able to
- 38:25Speaker 3: go out there and take care of my one eleventh
- 38:27Speaker 3: and all that stuff. But my sophomore year I understood, Okay,
- 38:32Speaker 3: I'm going to learn what Joe dies doing behind me,
- 38:33Speaker 3: because if I understand what he's doing behind me, then
- 38:36Speaker 3: I'm gonna have a better understanding of what I have
- 38:37Speaker 3: to get done. I think DJ Pickett is going to
- 38:40Speaker 3: be a much better player because he is no longer
- 38:43Speaker 3: going to be a freshman who has all these heavy expectations.
- 38:46Speaker 3: He can go out there, learn what he has to
- 38:48Speaker 3: do and be a faster player, probably mentally and physically.
- 38:51Speaker 5: And that's what usually is one of the biggest separators
- 38:54Speaker 5: when we talk about freshmen coming in underclassmen plan early.
- 38:59Speaker 5: It's the you know, at some positions it's physical, right,
- 39:03Speaker 5: but most of it is mental. Running back, you can
- 39:07Speaker 5: do that a lot more when you're playing dB. Maybe
- 39:10Speaker 5: you can play corner. You can play corner early on
- 39:16Speaker 5: a little bit faster than you can play like a
- 39:17Speaker 5: safety early on, just because of the mental pressures that
- 39:20Speaker 5: do get put on you. And yes, there is a
- 39:22Speaker 5: state of memorization before you get to actually having knowledge
- 39:27Speaker 5: of it. Like you got to memorize it, but when
- 39:30Speaker 5: you start getting kind of tricky situations, tricky looks thrown
- 39:34Speaker 5: at you, like you start second guessing a little bit.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Wait, I know this, yeah, But then like, but is
- 39:40Speaker 2: that right that I memorize it?
- 39:42Speaker 3: Right?
- 39:42Speaker 5: Like, is this is this the one the tight ends
- 39:44Speaker 5: split out as the as the Z receiver right now
- 39:47Speaker 5: and they're motioning a wide receiver into the slot, Like
- 39:50Speaker 5: I know there's a call for that, and I know it,
- 39:53Speaker 5: But do I know it? And you second guess yourself
- 39:55Speaker 5: a little bit, But would you be when you become
- 39:57Speaker 5: fluent in the language that everybody's an influent in that
- 40:01Speaker 5: defensive scheme, then you don't second guess yourself. You can
- 40:03Speaker 5: let your athleticism, the physical gifts that God gave you,
- 40:06Speaker 5: you can let those just cut it loose. And and
- 40:11Speaker 5: my God, did God give him some gifts, right, So
- 40:14Speaker 5: I would expect this year that he's gonna be able
- 40:16Speaker 5: to cut those loose. Not second guests. You've seen the
- 40:19Speaker 5: looks now, you've been there for going in in your
- 40:23Speaker 5: second year now, so you're gonna start speaking that language
- 40:26Speaker 5: fluently instead of having to memorize it. So lass second guessing.
- 40:30Speaker 5: Let you'll let your physical talent shine a little bit.
- 40:33Speaker 3: All right, We're gonna let Taylor's desk get back down
- 40:35Speaker 3: to its original place and we will be back with

- 43:00Speaker 8: My brain.
- 43:01Speaker 3: If you can hear me across the hallway, Mets suck always.
- 43:08Speaker 4: So that they were actually pretty good. I mean they
- 43:10Speaker 4: always kind of suck though, Yeah, I mean they always
- 43:14Speaker 4: blow it.
- 43:14Speaker 3: They spend so much money to suck too.
- 43:17Speaker 4: And Juan Soto is not doing what they wanted them
- 43:20Speaker 4: to do.
- 43:22Speaker 7: You mean, spends a lot of money, has a lot
- 43:25Speaker 7: of name, right and blow it.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Hold up, we say redneck here though.
- 43:32Speaker 4: How do you say Juan redneck?
- 43:37Speaker 3: So you make it longer one like he ain't doing
- 43:46Speaker 3: that word. You almost said a bad word I almost
- 43:49Speaker 3: did earlier. Y'all didn't catch it. Almost had a bad,
- 43:52Speaker 3: bad one, and then y'all called it and I was surprised.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Yeah, he went full diva.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Let's see, I'm trying to look right now at how
- 44:02Speaker 3: much their their payroll is.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Oh boy, what is it?
- 44:11Speaker 3: Uh? Three hundred and seventy seven mearllion dollars this year
- 44:20Speaker 3: this year alone, second in Baseball and they fired their
- 44:24Speaker 3: manager because they suck.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Them the Dodgers.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I'm trying to think it has to be the Dodgers, right, well.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's probably Dodgers first and then the Mets.
- 44:37Speaker 2: No, I think it's like Dodgers by a mile, right.
- 44:39Speaker 7: Well, yeah, but they're actually winning the Mets a art fair.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Trying like the World Series this year.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Uh yeah, it's the Dodgers with four hundred and twenty
- 44:51Speaker 3: one million. The Mets are second with three seventy six.
- 44:54Speaker 3: The Yankees are third with three thirty seven. The Phillies
- 44:57Speaker 3: are fourth at three thirteen. Toronto actually comes in fifth
- 45:00Speaker 3: with three zero six, and then there's a big drop
- 45:03Speaker 3: off Boston at two sixty nine, San Diego at two
- 45:06Speaker 3: fifty seven, the Bravos at two fifty five, the Cubbies
- 45:09Speaker 3: at two fifty two, and the Detroit Tigers at two
- 45:13Speaker 3: forty three.
- 45:14Speaker 8: I'm a little, I guess, not really, maybe a little
- 45:17Speaker 8: surprised by the Phillies being so high.
- 45:19Speaker 3: About Toronto Bloody our three coming back off the bench.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I mean, seeing those numbers makes me want to see
- 45:29Speaker 3: if I can give it a go again. Matt, Where
- 45:31Speaker 3: would I go if I wanted to maybe try to
