- 0:22Speaker 1: And this is a movie that Brad Bird, who is
- 0:25Speaker 1: the director of Iron Giant, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, you know,
- 0:29Speaker 1: he's got a pedigree. Yeah.
- 0:31Speaker 2: He's been trying to get this movie made for a
- 0:33Speaker 2: very long time. Is this something you were aware of?
- 0:36Speaker 1: I knew he had been working on it. But he's
- 0:40Speaker 1: been trying to get this made for a long time.
- 0:41Speaker 1: He finally found somebody who, you know, because it's not
- 0:45Speaker 1: a known IP, it's new, it's, you know.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Is it a comic book? It's not a comic book.
- 0:51Speaker 2: It's his own thing. Okay. He created it himself.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And, you know, whenever he would go to somebody and say,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I want to make this movie. They would say, well,
- 0:59Speaker 1: who's this movie for? And he says, it's for people
- 1:01Speaker 1: who like movies. I don't know what else to tell you.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But we finally got our first full look at Ray Gunn.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You know, photos are like this business. It's all about
- 1:18Speaker 2: the light and the dark.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And all the lovely shades of gray in between.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It's Tom Waits.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's his partner. What are you looking for, Ray? Is
- 1:31Speaker 2: it animated?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes. I don't know. Truth?
- 1:35Speaker 2: It's got... How sad is that? Monsters, jetpacks, flying cars.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Welcome to the.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Future.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Most flameouts, they leave the city, but not you. So
- 1:52Speaker 2: it's a private eye in the future, you know. Mm-hmm.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Mr. Gunn, I presume?
- 1:58Speaker 2: So, uh, what can I do for you? But it's
- 2:01Speaker 2: noir at the same time. It's got these old-style looks.
- 2:06Speaker 2: She's emotional. But it's beautiful. What kind of things do
- 2:10Speaker 2: you mean? How about murder?
- 2:14Speaker 1: I didn't do it!
- 2:16Speaker 2: Keep her out of trouble, and you'll be a very
- 2:18Speaker 2: rich man. You got Sam Rockwell as Ray Gunn.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We should ask for more money. Scarlett Johansson as the
- 2:28Speaker 1: femme fatale.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And then you show up.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Be careful, Ray. We know how the world works. Nobody's pure.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We all get played.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Tell me who hired you or I throw you out
- 2:48Speaker 2: the window. Classic.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So it's a noir crime thriller detective story, but done
- 2:55Speaker 1: with ray guns and flying cars and monsters. It's going
- 3:04Speaker 1: to be in theaters on December 4th and then on
- 3:07Speaker 1: Netflix December 18th.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Stay tuned.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Just right away it's going to go to Netflix on
- 3:15Speaker 1: the 18th. Anyway, there's that one. Now, remember some years ago.
- 3:26Speaker 2: The clown panic? Well, sure. I still have it. Do
- 3:30Speaker 2: you still have that? Sure. 2016 is when it was
- 3:34Speaker 2: at its zenith. 911, what is the location of the emergency? Hi,
- 3:40Speaker 2: I am reporting the killer clown.
- 3:44Speaker 1: What?
- 3:45Speaker 2: The clown that's kidnapping kids. The clown that's kidnapping kids?
- 3:52Speaker 2: This is a documentary. He said, Mama, there's a clown
- 3:55Speaker 2: watching us. First response was a chuckle like, really, clowns?
- 4:00Speaker 1: We started hearing.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Just pure metal just scraping.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Then you hear clang.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Clang, clang.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And then....
- 4:15Speaker 2: Oh, hell no. That's some scary shit.
- 4:19Speaker 1: When children in a small South Carolina community report seeing
- 4:22Speaker 1: clowns hiding in the woods in 2016, few believe them.
- 4:26Speaker 2: How many more of these are we going to have?
- 4:28Speaker 1: But as sightings spread across the country, panic escalates into
- 4:34Speaker 1: school lockdowns, police investigations, and a nationwide media frenzy. But
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's got archive footage. Clowns!
- 4:45Speaker 2: They're not juggling. They have those skills. I was getting
- 4:48Speaker 2: blamed for something that I wasn't doing. The good clown. Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I feel bad for the good clown. Hide your kids.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Get your gun. The clowns are coming for you. As
- 4:57Speaker 2: it spreads worldwide. The White House is looking into the
- 5:00Speaker 2: clown epidemic.
- 5:02Speaker 1: The boy was receiving messages from a clown page.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's going down tonight. I kill for a living. That's
- 5:07Speaker 2: when the entire situation changed. What is this called? It's
- 5:11Speaker 2: called Clown Panic. And when is it?
- 5:14Speaker 1: And it's going to be on Hulu and Disney Plus
- 5:17Speaker 1: starting on October 12th. And it's from Ed Perkins, who
- 5:20Speaker 1: made the Netflix documentary, Tell Me Who I Am.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Clown panic. Okay, I'll watch it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I remember it. And it was panic. And speaking of that. Yes.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Sleigh Ground is... Not Playground, but Slayground. No, Slayground.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And it's a very cryptic teaser for this. Now, the
- 5:47Speaker 1: guy who made the film is Jeremy Saulnier. This will
- 5:50Speaker 1: open in January 29th, it says.
- 5:54Speaker 2: He made Blue Ruin. He made Green Room. He made
- 5:57Speaker 2: Rebel Ridge.
- 5:59Speaker 1: He's decided now to maybe do some horror movies. Now,
- 6:03Speaker 1: have you ever wondered as you've gone through A Haunted House...
- 6:06Speaker 1: What if there's a real killer in here?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Well, sure. Exactly. That's what this is about. It'd be
- 6:12Speaker 2: the perfect cover.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So the trailer doesn't tell us much.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Just looks like a bunch of kids going through a
- 6:22Speaker 1: haunted house. But we're guessing that the guy with the
- 6:29Speaker 1: metal mask and spikes on his shoulder and a massive
- 6:32Speaker 1: axe is some kind of killer.
- 6:40Speaker 2: There's a URL at the end of the trailer. It's runlikehell.com.
- 6:44Speaker 1: If you go there, it's a bunch of security footage
- 6:46Speaker 1: of people and creatures in haunted attractions.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So that's the question. Are there multiple attractions? Are they
- 6:54Speaker 2: all deadly? It's from A24. Slayground. A24 knows what they're doing.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Slayground. It was originally called October. It also stars
- 7:02Speaker 1: Imogene Poots, James Badgedale, Maddie Matheson, And Steven Root, everybody.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Well, there you go. We all love Steven Root.
- 7:11Speaker 1: The worst news that I got this week, well, the
- 7:13Speaker 1: second worst news that I got this week was.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Daredevil Born Again will end with season three. Dang.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm kind of sad about that because it's my
- 7:23Speaker 1: favorite superhero and my favorite show. So we get one
- 7:26Speaker 1: more season and that's it. And then for people of
- 7:30Speaker 1: a certain age, they're kind of happy. Darkwing Duck is
- 7:33Speaker 1: being revived at... Disney Plus.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:38Speaker 1: First debuted in 1991. Follows the adventures of Drake Mallard, a.k.a.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Darkwing Duck. This one is an animated series featuring Mark Hamill,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Seth Rogen, Lizzie Kaplan. And you'll be able to watch
- 7:54Speaker 1: that very soon on your Disney Plus.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Let's get dangerous. Let's get dangerous.
