- 0:00Welcome to this special update. Today we're highlighting
- 0:03an important green mobility milestone at Dubai
- 0:06Electricity and Water Authority. The installation
- 0:09of 46 electric vehicle charging points at Al
- 0:13-Shera, the new headquarters of Dubai Electricity
- 0:16and Water Authority. The key fact is that Dubai
- 0:19Electricity and Water Authority has equipped
- 0:22the car park at Al -Shera with a total of 46
- 0:25EV charging points under the Dubai Electricity
- 0:29and Water Authority EV Green Charger Initiative.
- 0:33Of these, 40 alternating current charging points
- 0:37are dedicated to Dubai Electricity and Water
- 0:39Authority employees, while six direct current
- 0:43charging points are designated for visitors.
- 0:46This is not just a parking facility upgrade.
- 0:49It is part of a wider sustainability strategy
- 0:51that connects advanced buildings with cleaner
- 0:54mobility solutions. Al -Sharah itself is a significant
- 0:59symbol of that strategy. It is described as the
- 1:02tallest, largest, and smartest net positive government
- 1:06building in the world. That means it generates
- 1:08more clean energy than it consumes, while also
- 1:12reflecting Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's
- 1:15commitment to innovation, sustainability, and
- 1:18energy efficiency. His Excellency Said Mohammed
- 1:21Al -Tayyar, Managing Director and Chief Executive
- 1:25Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,
- 1:28said, quote, During the inauguration of Al -Sharah,
- 1:32His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al -Maktoum,
- 1:36Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE
- 1:39and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that Dubai represents
- 1:43a unique model where sustainability has been
- 1:46transformed from a strategic goal into a way
- 1:49of life and an everyday theme touching all aspects
- 1:52of society. Guided by this vision, we have ensured
- 1:56that Al -Sharah embodies the highest global sustainability
- 1:59standards, not only as a net positive energy
- 2:02building that generates more clean energy than
- 2:05it consumes, but also as a smart, sustainable,
- 2:08and human -centric workplace, with integrated
- 2:12infrastructure that supports green mobility.
- 2:14This includes comprehensive EV charging facilities
- 2:18that encourage employees and visitors to adopt
- 2:21environmentally friendly transport options."
- 2:24Altaïr added, quote, In line with the vision
- 2:29of our wise leadership and the objectives of
- 2:32the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050 and the Dubai
- 2:36Green Mobility Strategy 2030, We continue to
- 2:39strengthen Dubai's leadership in sustainable
- 2:41mobility by encouraging greater adoption of EVs.
- 2:45We also support the Emirates' efforts to reduce
- 2:48carbon emissions from the transport sector, improve
- 2:51air quality, and enhance quality of life, further
- 2:54consolidating Dubai's position as a global model
- 2:57for sustainable cities." Another major point
- 3:01is the wider scale of charging infrastructure
- 3:04across Dubai. By the end of the first quarter
- 3:07of 2026, the total number of EV charging points
- 3:11across the Emirate had reached 2 ,223. The network
- 3:17includes Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
- 3:20EV green charger stations, as well as stations
- 3:24operated by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
- 3:27licensed independent charge point operators in
- 3:30collaboration with government and private sector
- 3:33entities. Just as important is the regulatory
- 3:36framework. Developed by Dubai Electricity and
- 3:40Water Authority, it serves as a comprehensive
- 3:43reference governing charging infrastructure and
- 3:46licensing requirements for independent charge
- 3:49point operators while addressing both current
- 3:52and future sector needs. In short, Al -Sharaa
- 3:56is more than a new headquarters. It is a practical
- 4:00model that brings together clean energy, sustainable
- 4:03building design, electric mobility, and long
- 4:06-term planning. And that is what makes this development
- 4:10important for employees, visitors, and Dubai's
- 4:13broader green mobility future. Thanks for listening.
