- Blake: Hi, surprise! It's Mention It All Mini Sode, the first of many to come, and I am Blake, one of your two co-hosts. You only got two, bitch, and number two, well, number one to me, but number two when I'm introducing this episode, mini sewed, Casey, hey Casey Casey: Paped Lake, loving this informal setting where we can finally feel free to speak our minds. We've been so constrained and Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: we're so concise with our words, we need more. Blake: We've been censored and I feel like we haven't gotten to speak or I feel like we haven't gotten to speak for the amount of time that we've but we've wanted to. Our episodes have only been two hours long. Casey: Y'all, we try so hard. Like we really try to like be strict. I'm like, Blink, one hour Blake: Ha. Casey: today, like, or else no dinner for you for the rest of the week. But then we just can't Blake: Ha ha. Casey: help it. He'd rather go without dinner. Like he really would. It's hard. I would too. Blake: Girl, I'd just rather have a bump and and call it a day. But we decided that, as you know, mention it all again is a look back. It's a recap. It's a you know what have what what happened in the past, we're analyzing it. It's fun. But I think it would be also a little bit of fun to give you guys some insight into our opinions on things that are happening, today. Some Housewives headlines, Casey: Our everyday life. Blake: just catching up with each other, maybe just like getting an insight into who the fuck we are as people, if there's some pop culture nonsense going on, like we can maybe give a little bit of a sliver of an opinion on it. But as the title suggests, these will be mini sods. I think Casey and I decided We will be doing these once a month. So yeah, this is a little bit of a surprise that we wanted to introduce into the mention it all again universe. excuse me if I sound a little bit weird. I'm kind of coming down with a cold Casey: I hear it. I but I hear it even more now than I just did when we recorded our last session. I feel like it just came out. Blake: Yeah, it's because like you know when you're sick and then your nose like kind of like dries up and like closes off and then it's like you can't breathe out of your nose. I feel like that Casey: the worst. Also, are you drinking, RN? Do you have wine? I feel like when I drink it opens my Blake: I did. I have my last glass right here. Casey: my sinuses. That's just my feeling. It's just how I feel. Like I f or maybe the opposite. Blake: Really, I wish that was the case for me. I feel like that it fully Casey: Like it just makes me feel sicker. Like whatever I have going on, it like it amplifies it. Blake: yeah, that's defin I think probably that's what just happened. BTS lore, we Casey: Yeah, sorry. Bad choice of words. Blake: we did we did a little back to back recording. We what are they called? Banking Episodes when you record and you put it in the bank for later. But we are we're introducing the mini sodes today, so I won't sound like this for every mini sode, but welcome. we're I guess we kinda talked about this title. I think this is probably what we'll Call this segment slash I guess yeah, mini sort will pr I think it's the vibe is scrolling with Blake and Casey. Casey: Right. Scroll with us, get caught up with us. Like Blake said, get to know us a little bit. I mean, as you know, we're so verbose. So you get little snippets of our lives in the episodes because we physically can't help but insert ourselves into what we're talking about. But this will be a little catch-up, a little debrief. If you are clamoring at the bit eventually and are like, more, more, more, we'll do it a little bit more. But for now, we're gonna start with once a month, and we wanna let y'all know what we're thinking. About the current events, and I want to start with something. So actually, we'll start with this. Blake was just on a cruise, so I was texting Blake, and his location said North Pacific Ocean. As I was trying to catch him up on what was going Blake: It did. Casey: on pulp culturally, it was stressful. I was worried he wasn't gonna receive. my messages. Blake: Ha ha. Casey: But our first topic is one that I sent him while he was abroad, while he was at sea. Blake: I technically was abroad, like I wasn't in I wasn't I wasn't Casey: Semester at sea. Blake: in broad, so I was abroad, I guess. Casey: No, you were not in broad. You were abroad at sea. you see what I'm saying? broad at sea. Blake: period And speaking of abroad Luann Deliceps Countess the Countess the One and Only released a new song which I actually had not even like heard any like any whisperings Casey: I knew. Blake: of it. I mean yeah you're like number one Stan over here so like I would be Casey: I really am. And I'll let y'all know, an Easter egg is that like I Random, literally randomly. I'm not even like an influencer in that way of a social climber way. I ran into Luann and her chief of staff and her social media manager once. And ever since then, like I've I'm so close with them. Like we message about what she has going on. So like they sent me the original post about the song and it said coming out October 16th. And you know me, I'm psychotic. So on October 16th, 8 AM, I'm like Blake: Alert. Casey: Where's my s where's my song? why can't I hear it? And they just kind of like quietly didn't say anything because I think it was just like wasn't ready. And then they posted whenever it was I texted Blake when he was at sea and I sent him the song and I was like, listen right now. And it's excellent. Blake: So the song is called To All the Boys and for our for our viewers, here's the cover art. It is literally a billboard on like Melrose or Hollywood Boulevard or whatever the fuck in LA and it's Loanne looking snatched a F in this like netty one piece black swimsuit. Casey: So good. A little s like head scarf wraparound neck scarf moment like Blake: She's eyeing with her sunglasses pulled down a little bit, eyeing some fine ass man, I'm sure. Casey: it's giving the artists like billboards they do before Coachella. that's what it's giving. Blake: Yeah, and the song opens with the lyrics Boys and Billionaires, have no fear. Your countess is here. And I listened to the song for the first time Casey: I've heard enough. Blake: today. It's fun as fuck. I think she should have released it beginning Casey: It's so fun! Blake: of summer, but it's fun as fuck, and I have to say, dare I say my god, I'm like scared to say it, but I'm gonna say it. There are hints of ABBA. There are hints of Abba in the song. I know. Casey: Wow, no, I so agree. I'll give you guys a little a little snippet of the chorus. I'm my family famously says I'm tone deaf, so maybe this won't be exemplary, but To all the boys I loved before. Wow, I really hit that, didn't I? Wow. You're like, no, she's tone deaf. Like I collaborate on or corroborate. Blake: I you know what, fuck it Well I guess what what I what I was gonna say is like is that so different from the song itself? Casey: yes. Dude, you're just like me when I was outside the Luan concert and someone was like, she's not that good, and I was drunk and I was like, Don't ever say that again. No, like I was not I don't play. You know I don't play. And another Blake: You punched them. You assaulted somebody. Casey: thing I don't play about is the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. And if you guys thought we weren't segueing in the mini sode, you're dead motherfucking wrong. And if you thought we weren't gonna Blake: Dead fucking wrong. Casey: be explicit in the mini sode, you're dead wrong. Blake: And if you thought that we don't have opinions on the current seasons of the shows that we talk about, and that we don't watch those current seasons, granted, we will only be talking about Salt Lake City because you actually are a little bit behind on the rest Casey: Okay. Blake: of them. Casey: But I worked really hard today. I'm I'm pretty much caught up on Orange County. I think I'm almost at the end of the most recent app. I have two I have to watch two Potomacs. Cause we watch so much for our pod that sometimes like I get behind on current Bravo because I need to do our pod watchings. Like I get Blake: Yeah. Casey: I get inundated. But I am caught up on Salt Lake City because that is what matters most to me. Orange County's a little dull, so I stub that one off. And Potomac's new, so I have a second to like catch up. But Salt Lake I caught up. Blake: Yeah, that's fair. Okay, what are your thoughts? Casey: And I mean, again, we know where my Salt Lake City allegiances lie. I'm not a glam kitten. Like I'm not with this new like wave for Lisa and Meredith. I think if I wanna try to be unbiased, I have more I have more of an issue with Meredith. I mean, biased and unbiased, I have more of an issue with Meredith than Lisa. But I think that the hypocrisy and bullshit thing was A little contrived. For me, that stuff doesn't really land. It's like in the realm of the slam pig. It's in the realm of like I just like don't really resonate with that. I like am too much of like a real person where like I'm like that feels mean to me. Like she's going through divorce. They did that performance on the inference that Bronwyn said they were scheming, but it was actually Brittany. So like it was actually just like really I don't know. Like it's has the song been stuck in my head? Yeah. Like hip hackers seem bullshit. Shit. But was it Blake: Bullshit. Casey: was it iconic for me? No. If it's iconic for you, I'm happy for you. But for me, it's not. Blake: I so I have a really strange like opinion of this season because if you know me and I have mentioned this lightly in the past, like I have been a day one Lisa Barlow hater and I have cup since like season maybe four or five soured on Meredith. Like I was I also like haven't really liked Heather, but I was really team Bronwyn, Angie and Whitney for the past couple seasons, but This season, for the first time, I have started to see the Lisa Barlow like love. And that's because the way that the show is shaped up now is I think that basically you have Lisa and Meredith who and like I will say Ultimate Girls Trip did kind of endear me a little bit more to Lisa, but I think you have Lisa and Meredith who are Truly friends, truly have this alliance slash friendship going. Y Casey: Now. Blake: Now, yes, but it's been for the past couple seasons, like where they've like been a little bit solid. Like at least like they don't have the hot mic moment happening anymore. And then you have the the Bronwyn, Angie, and Heather, who to me are desperate for a moment, desperate to like stand out, desperate to like Heather has never left let go of her receipts proof time she's trying to recreate that and they're so produced and they also have this air of like the show's gotten to their head and I feel like you have them desperately wanting Lisa's validation and then also randomly wanting to take Meredith down, which I still don't really understand why everyone like wants to take her down. But it's like it doesn't make sense to me and I feel like it's again desperate. And then Whitney is Yeah I just think that Casey: To take Meredith down, you find it desperate? I don't agree. Blake: They're always trying to come for her and I feel like it just seems like every season you're looking for a an angle to get to her. And it at this point it's like, you guys look stupid, you look miserable, and I actually don't lump Whitney in with them, even though she's on their like team, quote unquote. Because I think that Whitney actually is sort of like a Tamra judge where she knows how to be a housewife and I think she actually knows like what she's doing is entertaining. Even if she also like isn't making some sense at times and like is doing things that I would say why are you doing that? But she does it in a Casey: I appreciate that. I I appreciate you saying that. That means a lot to me. Blake: way that doesn't it's not the same as the others. But I think Angie Bronwin Casey: I do I agree with you. I think that all the three that you named, Angie, Bronwood Heather, I do think they each have moments where they need to be grounded a little bit more in reality and they get a little swept up in the housewife of it all. I think Whitney gets swept up in a positive way in the housewife of it all of that. Like she really gets, like you said, like how to how to do this job and like how to move on. But my issue right now is if you're gonna be a housewife on a show, especially one of the shows where realistically all of them should be an ensemble cast and should be working all together, you have to know how to move on. Meredith Marks does not know how to move on. I don't think she knows how to be real. Those are my two biggest things with her. I think that Whitney's issue with her is that like they continuously have beef and Whitney always has to do the crux of the work of like the moving on because Meredith just wants her to like spin and dance around. So So that's why she has a personal issue with her. I think that Heather can be a little bit misguided sometimes in her takedown attempts. I think Bronwyn now has a reason, which is why her and Whitney are very like aligned because Meredith and Lisa kinda just went after Bronwyn. So like I don't know. I I just personally don't like Meredith, you know that. I think that she's weird and rude. And I mean like she's got questionable ethics, like IRL. Blake: I didn't like her I didn't like her until this season and it's not even that I necessarily have have affirmatively decided to like her as much as I just think that I'm like for example, Whitney with that video saying I hate Meredith, like it's like to me it just makes sense. Like not even picking a side, it's just like yeah, like the reaction to that video would just be like Alright, like now you're trying to apologize again, but it's like maybe that's just how you feel about me. Casey: For sure, but I also think Whitney just it's similar to the Ashley Darby at it all. they're just messy enough and real enough that they're just saying the quiet part out loud. the the most recent episode there Blake: But then Casey: was this whole thing of Whitney saying that she wants Meredith off the show and that was a big issue. And it's like, but you feel the same way about Whitney. You just didn't say it. but you guys both know that about each other. Blake: Right, but but that's Casey: I'm not really that mad about that. Blake: I'm not mad about it. I but I think my thing is then why are you trying to apologize and act like it happened it was a fluke, rather than just being like, Yeah, we don't get along Meredith, Casey: But she was apologizing about the the drag show thing, not the like that she wants. She owned that. She said, I did say I want you off the show. And I I did mean that. Blake: Yeah. I think I just I just happen to think that from Meredith's perspective it's fair to just be like I just don't give a f I don't care about you, whatever, you don't like me. I think the thing is like that's Sure, like she she definitely Yeah. Casey: Fine, but you're a housewife. You gotta figure it out. this is your cast. Everyone likes you guys as a group. everyone is happier when you guys get along. In the most recent episode, Angie, Heather Mary and Lisa having lunch and Kikiing, I was like, I love when they get along. Like I am one of those people that likes when people when the the housewives get along. Like obviously a fight has its place and all that, but I'm like, you do have to know how to move on. I think the best housewives know how to move on. And I don't think Meredith Marks knows how to do that. Blake: But that's my issue though, is That's why the Angie and the Bronwin and the Heather are really pissing me off because I'm like, you guys have to drop it with Lisa and stop trying to have it at a certain point It just is you projecting that you want Lisa to validate you and give you attention and be your friend Because I don't actually at this point and I like Casey: a little, yeah, but a little bit like Blake: I just at this point I just don't know what this severe issue is. And I also thought it was fucked up. I actually happen to like Kwai a law. I think that like she has a lot of potential. I thought it was crazy the way that it got spun, that she was talking shit, and then you had Bronwyn, Heather and Angie attacking her on the trolley in San Francisco, and Angie giving her toothbrushes, like coming after her. Casey: Well that was Angie's fault and then it became a Whitney issue and it was really all an Angie issue. And I I f but she apologized. She apologized so Blake: Whitney, definitely played a a part, but it was it wasn't Angie. To me, it was Angie, Bronwyn, and Heather, because they like Heather was like, You called me diabolical. Never said, and also not that crazy of a word to use. Casey: She said Diablo. Blake: She said Diablo, but it's also like it was so lighthearted. Bronwyn randomly decided to insert herself and then get so worked up. Like, to me, it just seems like you guys are forcing this, like Hierarchy of like we've been on the show for longer, we want to put you in your place, and it just seems like you're making shit up, and it that's where it falls flat to me, where I'm like, you guys like just want to be miserable. And that's why I'm like, for for me, honestly, like Qui, Mary, Lisa, and Meredith are the ones that I find myself being like I kind of understand like your reactions. Whitney, I do appreciate her, even though I feel like she is causing problems with her and Kwai. But the other three, Bronwyn, Angie, and Heather, I cannot stand them. I'm sorry. I can't stand them. Casey: yeah, I mean I just don't agree. I'm team everybody but Lisa and Meredith. Like I I feel like Blake: That's so funny. I would have been that last year. Casey: I I will never like Meredith Marks. I mean for one thing I hate her family. I hate the way she was in real life. I thought she was so rude. I hate her stances. Rudy Blake: you did meet her, actually. That's Casey: And she was rude AF and weird AF and Heather, Lisa, they have all been nothing but kind. Bronwyn, Whitney, all really, really, really nice and real. Should I? Blake: Do you wanna give a do you wanna give a clip a quick maybe like yeah, quickly like tell the the listener like Casey: So I've met every real housewife of Salt Lake City besides current. Besides I haven't met Angie. I haven't met Mary. I haven't met Britney. Everyone else. That's a crazy little lineup, not quite. so I met Blake: That is crazy. Casey: Meredith, Lisa, and Heather at a watch party for Salt Lake City season five in New York City. And they did a they like everyone got a I mean, most people got a photo off. They came in, they took selfies with people. It was very fun. Like it was a cute little bravo event. We watched the premiere, like a night early or something. And they did a little contest where like certain people got picked to like read Quotes out of a hat and whoever read it the best picked by the housewives won a prize. So I went up on stage as I do. And you guys, I mean, you would not even believe what I pick out of the bowl. It's a Whitney Rose tagline. Like, of course I know how to deliver that. Like, that's my mama. Like, so I deliver the line perfectly. It's the like I can handle a little prick. this wild rose can handle a little prick. And I did the exact motion she did and her exact tone of voice. So the women were like gagging for me. And I won. Obvio obviously like are we shocked? But When I like they give me the mic, to give a speech, like it's the Oscars. So I'm like, shout out Diet Coke, shout out Meredith Marks Caviar, shout out Bad Mormon, like love y'all. Like, I don't I'm hammered. Like, I don't know what Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: to say. And Meredith like comes over, like slinks over to me and like up in my ears, like You should have said Vita Tequila and mentioned one of Lisa's real brands. she's not actually affiliated with Diet Coke. that's that's kind of a disrespectful thing for you to do. And mind you, everyone's watching us. I'm on the motherfucking mic. I go, Okay. And she's like, I mean, it's just like one of our I'm like Can you back the fuck up off me? my actual god. I didn't prepare a speech. I didn't know this was gonna happen. it was so weird. And she's staring at me, she's like, I'm like, they took the mic away. I don't have the microphone anymore. what do you want me to do? start chanting Vita tequila? V like I d I don't know what to do. And then what the fuck do I win? Blake: I say vida, you say tequila! Viraha Casey: What do I win but a s a fuck ass sweatshirt that says receipts proof timeline? I think I threw it away. I think Blake: my god, don't piss me off. Casey: it's already gone out of my wardrobe. But no, she was weird. Like she's weird and Blake: Was she drunk do you think? Or was that just sober Meredith? Or do you think Xanax? Casey: No, I don't think so. maybe Yeah, maybe slightly under like she wasn't so fucked up. I think that was partially her true personality. Maybe a little bit uninhibited, but it was very weird. And like I've met Lisa now twice. Like I saw Lisa again at BravoCon and she was so nice. Like I don't have hatred in my heart for Lisa, but Meredith and I we really don't gel. and that's kind of like where we're at currently. I I just honestly like I prefer housewives when there's a little bit of conflict, but then we've r we reach a more of a A group getting along. Like, I actually do like the friendship and the sisterhood aspect. I know we joke and we're like the sisterhood, and then you play a clip of like them calling each other's whores and shit. But like, I actually do like that. Like, I I enjoy housewives a lot when when the women get along. And I think too often these days with like the internet and vi virality, is that a word? I think it is. Blake: Yeah. Casey: like we just want the moments, and like sometimes I like the understated moments. Like, I actually do enjoy, and Blake: You need a core. You need a core friendship. Casey: I think salt. Lake is so good at that normally, but we're straying a little bit away from it. We're like we have always been able to come back to each other and create a little bit of a norm normal moment. So I'm I'm hoping that they can figure it out. I think Mary wants them to figure it out and that will be a helpful driving force, which we saw in the in the most recent episode. So that's like where we're at. Blake: Yeah, we'll we'll we'll check back in and I will just say to put a bow on that, I do think it is incumbent upon any housewife in any feud to try and find a way that they can at least coexist for the sake of the show. So like if Meredith does not do that, then like obviously, you know, then that then that will reflect poorly on her. But we have a lot of this season to see. moving along, so this is something that for the listener, we Casey and I text a lot, Obviously we text about the podcast but also we're friends, so Casey: Business but also pleasure. Blake: we text about pleasure, I guess in this case it's displeasure. but we text about, you know, day to day stuff and and Casey always Casey's close friends on Instagram, like her not her Stassi's backhand account, but her literally Casey account which is, you know, always tagged in the show notes. You can go follow it. her close her close friends it's Casey: Please come on in. If you wanna be on the close friends, just say the word. I'll let you write on it. Blake: Genuinely so entertaining, but obviously it like its highs and lows when it comes to dating. But I wanted to give you the floor to vent your frustrations about your dating experiences recently. Casey: literally I could I could I have such an arsenal now. I think for the close friends, which I treat my close friends like I'm a content influencer, even though it's like twenty people and like probably like six or seven of them like don't care. Blake: Haven't you had a coworker approach you and be like, Your close friends was so good last night or something like that? Casey: I did have a coworker approach me and ask to be added to the close friends based on what they'd heard about my dating adventures. And I said, absolutely. Welcome in. I literally am like, I Blake: Welcome. Casey: like barely know these people. I'm like, please come along. And Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: that's why sometimes I'll post a how to leave someone's close friends, just in case anyone's feeling a little overwhelmed. Like Blake: my god, I I think I said this to you, but gay guys, like I it's like way less of a consensual thing with like they don't like think like who wants to be part of it. Like they sort of like if they find a guy hot and like the guy follows them, they add them to their close friends Casey: Yeah. Blake: and then close friends for gay guys is just like me being Casey: nudes. Blake: sexy and potentially a nude. and so like Casey: that's that's efficient. Blake: It's honestly, most most gay guys would have no problem with it, but there are some gay guys where they will do that similar thing where they'll every now and then post a poll that's like just checking in to make sure y'all are consenting to me posting my hog. And and so Casey: Ha ha right, sure. Blake: not all of them do that, but sometimes I'll randomly see the green circle and be like, don't know much about this guy. What's he posting? And then it's like it's like hog, and then it's like the next one like, Are you guys cool with that by the way? Do you still want to be here? I'll remove you if you don't. And like I'm I'm like, I love lurking. I'm I'm just nosy. I'm like what do you like? Casey: That's literally me, but with oversharing. I'm like, are y'all still comfortable here? Like I'm really, like, I'm really unloading. Like, so sorry. But yeah, listeners, I've been single. For a little over a year, which is so wild to say. And I've been hitting the hinge dating since pretty much like day da. I got on the I was like, let's hit the road, right when I got dunked. I was like, let me let me play the field because Gossip Girl once told me you have to win the breakup and you have to be the one to have sex first. So I was like, let me put some groundwork in, at least try. And yeah, I've been hinge dating since then. I literally documented all of my close friends because these men are Insane. Real quickly, I'll take you through two quick stories. One, I lived in Massachusetts for like four years, and that was where I was dating my ex. And then we we broke up and I was there for like six months single before I moved back to the DC, Maryland, Virginia area where I am now. And I went on the state with this guy. We went to a hibachi, like sushi place. We sat at a bar, and the weird thing about him, super cute, six five, good-looking guy. seemed relatively normal. But then about like fifteen minutes into our date he starts doing this like accent he would say something. It was almost like he had a a Jekyll and Hyde. it was almost like an alter ego. so he's so he showed Blake: my god. Casey: me how to use the chopsticks and then 'cause I I wasn't super good at it, and why not play it up, the classic date. Show me how to do it, whatever. And I'm like, look, look, I like look how good I did it and like I like ate it from the chopstick and his like normal, you know, regular accent Boston American, whatever you want to call it, all of a sudden switches to this like country twang and he goes, I bet you like being praised, don't you, baby? And I'm like, sorry, what? Like some I'm sorry. I'm sorry, what? And he's like, What? And I'm like What? He's like, what do you mean? and he's talking in the regular voice again. And I'm like, all right, let's just move along. whatever. And then like, you know, whatever. The date goes on. He probably does it like one or two more times, but I can't think of what he said. And then let's we leave the date. He like goes to kiss me at the end of the date. And we end up like going back to my place to hang out for a little bit. And when we're there, he's like I bet you just knew from the minute you saw me that you were trying to take me home and and and to have your way with me. And I'm like, what? you asked to come back here. what are you talking about? Blake: Ex Exque Me? Casey: In that same like southern twang. And I'm like, my god, like I'm so uncomfortable. Like and then he's Blake: I don't Casey: at He's at my house. He's like, I'm allergic to cats. I have two. He's like having an allergic reaction. I'm like, Do you need to leave? And he's like, No, no. And he's in the country twang. And I'm like, I don't, I don't know what to do right now. Like, I'm so uncomfortable. Like, and eventually, he's like literally at the point he can't breathe. He's like, I gotta go. Like I and in the country twang, like I have the house party to go to. Like, you wanna come? I'm like, No. And he leaves. Blake: I well who wh who am I going with? Am I going with Tom Sawyer or am I going with Casey: D Blake: the Boston, Massachusetts over here? what's happening? Casey: And then he sends me a photo of three random people at some party and I go, Nice exclamation point, and I never hear from him again. Isn't that crazy though? I sometimes think about that like southern twang every time I'm at like a sushi or hibachi place. I'm like, Bet you like like being praised, don't don't you darling. Like a pardon? Blake: If if if that were it if I were watching that, for entertainment, that'd be fucking great. But hearing that as your experience, I'm like, I need to take a shower. I need to like Casey: I felt so trapped. I had to pause and be like, I need to start evaluating on dates if I actually enjoy their company and want to invite them back. Cause I get so Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: I get so caught up. Yeah, I guess. come along. and then they're there and I'm like, Blake: what do we do now? Casey: and this is a little bit of a more tragic tale, but just this past weekend. you guys. listeners, listeners, listeners. I went on a date with this 6'3 British English literature teacher. When I say young Hugh Grant, I really, really mean it, and I'm not, I'm not capping in like an annoying way. Like just a phenomenal date, like beautiful man, just like it was like a movie. Like it was just lovely, lovely, lovely. And then after like reassuring me, I'm like, by By the way, I would really like love for you to not pursue me if you don't have interest in dating me. if you're gonna bin me off after one night. please don't do this to me. I'm just begging. He's like, I would never do that, love. you're so lovely. I would never do that to you, Angel. he Blake: Ha ha. Casey: waited until the next calendar day and then said, I met someone else last night. I should have known I was supposed to go out last night and meet someone else. I didn't know we were doing that. Blake: Right, and I said to you that I find it strange that like he like notoriously when you meet someone at the club or at the bar, like, that is genuinely just based on like pure physical attraction because you're you're just seeing someone from across the room. So if if I had personally gone on like a date where I really enjoyed it, was texting the person, I had a great time with you, we had great sex, like great chemistry, whatever, if I had done that And then the next day went out and saw someone that was hot. There'd be no part of me that was like, well I have to cut it off with the person I had a great date with. I would just be like, let me s go on a date with this new person and keep talking to the person I had a good date with and then like obviously you see which one starts to make more sense for you. Casey: Which is just how there's a lie afoot. And there's almost always a lie afoot be with men, because there's this sense, at least with men in my dating experience, well, I really just mean with straight men, with women, like they I I had this experience once with a guy who cheated on me in college and I asked him, I'm like, You've lied Blake: Right. Casey: so much to me. Like that's so crazy. Like, how do you do that? And like feel comfortable living your life. And he was like I wouldn't call it lying because in the moment I meant it. But then when that moment ended, I realized I didn't mean it anymore. And it's like men genuinely don't think it's lying when they mean it in the moment when they want sex. But then when they like that's why they invented this like post not clarity thing to like be assholes. Like which I had also have had a date say to me, Isn't it post not clarity so fucking real? Yeah. I hope I never talk to you again. Honestly, Blake: I'm gonna smack you with a frying pan. Casey: no, it's not because I'm not an asshole. I don't sleep with people who I don't like because I'm not a fucking asshole. Blake: Well and it's crazy it's crazy just to put a bow on this and also listener if this like I I swear Casey has so much in terms of dating arsenal stories and just like grievances and also like I ha y I I might be in a relationship, but I also have had my fucking experiences too. If Casey: For sure. Blake: this is something y'all wanna hear more about, we can talk more about it like more dedicated time, but we have other things to get to. But I just wanna say Casey: Yeah, th th that was a highlight and a recent for y'all to to give you the the arsenal. Yeah. Blake: Yeah. A little update. A little a little Omasake tasting. But I just to put a cap on the like as a gay guy, it's so interesting to like be you have to be deceptive about wanting to have sex because I feel like gay guys are way more like either they're like I like to go slow and I don't really wanna fuck until a couple dates, or the default is sort of like, yeah, we're gonna fuck, but that's part Casey: Quick write up. Blake: of us figuring out if we like each other and both parties know that. So the idea that you're like going through this whole like shebang to be like, I wanna go on a date and you're so pretty and I had a great time, lovely and then the next day trying to figure out like an excuse to like, w what am I what am I gonna tell her 'cause I just wanted sex, it's like that's so foreign, 'cause we would just be like like we would both of them would just like, Yeah, it was not that great, honestly, like, moving on, like Casey: Right. my God, if you really just want sex that bad, there's someone that you can mutually agree with that point on. Don't put Blake: Right. Casey: me in that situation when I'm explicitly being like, I don't want that And they're like, Too bad. Blake: Right. No, it's fucked up and I honestly again, listener, let us know. We can do more of a dating deep dive. There's a lot of material there. But I do wanna I do wanna get into f Bravo Fan Casey: There's so much somewhere that we weren't, yeah. Blake: Bravo Fan Fest was this weekend, which I generally don't gaff about these all these random side events that Bravo does, but there were a couple moments that I do feel like I just Yeah. Casey: It's like a Bravo con light. it's like they put it in the year that they can't do they don't do the con. They do it alternating years. They did the last one in Miami. I think they'll keep doing it in various cities. I bet there will be Blake: Yeah. Casey: one in like D C like Potomac, like that they'll do like in a micro, like the Bravo Fan Fest they're calling it like the BFF. So it's like a little like light Bravo Con. It's like a similar setup. You can go to Watch What Happens. You can go to the the photo op days and all that good shit. But they announce Blake: Yeah. Casey: headlines. And all their favorite influencers are there and half Bravo Lebs, Blake: And they'll have a random Yeah, and they have a random assortment of housewives for each panel, not all Casey: Yeah. Blake: of them attend. So I wanted to play this clip that I saw on Twitter, Heather Gay was speaking on a panel and here let's go. For the black eye. So, she was asked about the black eye. She walks back her like famous season four like declaration that Jen Shaw gave her the black eye and now is saying, We're gonna have to figure it out because I actually don't know, and Jen and I will have to talk about it. I was actually so viscerally pissed off watching this because she played in our face, she played in everyone's faces for like two years, or I guess it was a a year, before she admitted it was Jen. And we're three years past when she admitted that. Two years. Three years. Three three years. We are three entire years past when she admitted that. And now she's walking it back again. You can h hear the crowd booing her because w we're over it. Like it's not even like w why have that dramatic moment and then say, like, never mind, I actually don't remember. Like you it's so disingenuous. Also, th there's there's one of the like potential implications is that like production might have been involved in it, which is putting people's like jep like jobs in jeopardy. Casey: Right. People were originally mad about that. I don't know, I guess I like I'm so like over this conversation that like I think my brain just like can't formulate an opinion on the subject. I know, I just like don't care. Blake: But it's her fault though. It's like she honestly, I know this is dramatic, but I just genuinely do think that like There has to be a point where you're just like, Heather, you're fired. Because if you're gonna keep fucking like this is not like the the reaction you're having is not the reaction you want as a Bravo executive for a viewer to have when it comes to a housewife and their storylines and what's happened to them. Like, you don't want people to be a extremely frustrated, booing you, and you also don't want people to be like so checked out because you keep just deciding you don't know what happened, and then tomorrow you know what happened, and the next day you don't know what happened. Like my god, I cannot like it actually makes me want to rip my hair out. and then there was another I guess Andy on a panel was asked if Bethany if he would have Bethany back and he said like I'm not super on TikTok and Bethany decided to like clap back at this. What are what's your what's your Casey: I don't know, and if I said she ended him I like I find both of them so annoying, like Blake: Same. Casey: This is like I I reach a threshold with topics where I like I just start to check out how I just said with they had their black eye. I've just reached my my limit of interest. I've reached my limit of interest on Bethany Frankel. I've reached my limit of interest on Andy Cohen, like just within their like personal storylines of like i IRL storylines. So like Blake: They're like constant beef that never ends and it's like Casey: I'm not invested in either of their claims on this subject, but I did I did you if you if we keep us our faces in that, the golden life on E and he's on the stainless steel with Bravo. Blake: Stainless steel. Casey: I do just like objectively like that's funny. And like to be fair, like Andy's always yapping about women that he doesn't employ anymore. Like it's it's in her prerogative to bite back. Like Blake: Yeah, I it's one of those things, that meme that's like when you're when the worst person on earth has a good opinion or something like that? But this is more like when Yeah Yeah, Casey: Yeah. Heartbreaking, the worst person alive made a made a good point. Blake: it's like this is that, but two the two worst people on earth both suck, but like one of them was more right than the other or something. I guess I just don't even understand like Andy has a great job and she's clearly like doing what she wants to and she's success I just guess I I I guess I don't understand to your point, like what are we even beefing about at this point? Like why is Andy being shady? Why are you responding? Like I'm just Casey: thing. Andy, Andy, it benefits because he needs fodder for these events and for his shows and for his own sound bites and relevancy. Bethany responding, I feel like, is just retaliatory. And like he he will let anything persist that like is in the realm of housewives drama because that's good for their Brand. even I think Blake: Right. Casey: for certain I think these days media is very much operating under all press is good press. I just saw a a TikTok or a reel about how the Kardashians are very good at that. That they they don't care what type of press they're getting, like as long as they're going viral, even if it's negative, like they're cool with that. Like I think there's some sometimes a little bit of that. Bravo, I feel like is rage baiting a little bit slash changing direction with like Blake: Definitely. Casey: they have this new Texas Wives show that's coming out with this woman. Her name is Erin, and like She was on Big Brother season 15 and made homophobic, racist, xenophobic comments telling like Asian people to cook rice, like really like hateful things like that, just like pure, like, you know, like derisive, like, yes, Blake: Textbook racism, yeah. Casey: like just like nothing but you grew up hearing hateful statements like that, and that's what you thought was okay to say. So like they're casting her as like the main person, and then they're doing this like micro drama about Craig from Southern Charm. It's just like it's kind of giving a weird direction and I think that that is kind of under the same realm of like Andy's strategy of like if he's beefing with a housewife that is good that is good PR for him and the housewives because that's what these fans like eat Blake: Right. If we were being honest Casey: up. Blake: If we were being honest, he'd say she would never come back. We would we're probably past w the point of her coming back. Bethany would be like, That's true, and we'd all move on. But instead it has to be this like ping pong of like no, I would say we do this every Casey: And we do this every three years. would you have her back? huh. I would never Blake: I would say we do this like every th three quarters. It's like several times. It does feel like I'm Casey: they did it with Nene until they had and they're still doing it with Nene after the girls' trip. They're like, Would we have her back on Atlanta? Who knows? Nene's like, I'm coming Blake: We'll see. Casey: back. We don't like, my fucking god. Like, stop treating these women like shit. They did it to Luann, Blake: Just fucking tell us right. Casey: Dorinda, and Sonia for years and that's why they bounced networks because they got tired of the well they Blake: Cause someone would take them. Casey: won't they. Like, right. It it's annoying. Like, Blake: Right. And speaking of Golden Life, we will have more to say about that once more episodes are out. We'll do that probably the next mini sode. But I wanna end on there's this quick blind item on about Real Housewives o of Orange County. Basically, it seems like it's been leaked, maybe reported. I don't know, like obviously you could you never can take this with more than a grain of salt. But apparently Bravo was considering canceling Orange County There's only gonna be two episodes for the reunion. They said the ratings have been good, so they'll probably keep it but shake it up. And they said, you know, Vicky's on a one contract one season contract. Obviously, we know Vicky had posted that thing saying like she hasn't decided if she's coming back or not. Carmela's probably gonna be fired. They're gonna get rid of Emily and Shannon. Anyway, I guess my point Casey: Do you believe this? Blake: I am more so using it as a jumping off point for like what should be done in your opinion Casey: What you think, yeah. Blake: to make Orange County more watchable next season. Casey: I first of all I will say I don't think I don't think this season is great, but I don't think it's as bad as everyone Blake: Agreed. Agreed. Casey: is saying. I think that there are enjoyable moments and like we've had a lot worse housewife seasons and Orange County seasons in general. So like I'm not as mad as everyone generally. I'm done with Emily Simpson. I'm fine Blake: Same. Casey: with Gina. I don't I think firing Shannon would be a mistake. I think that they should at least give Vicky one more to see if the dynamic because I like watching the core people. Like I'm always gonna bat for the OGs coming back. I enjoy watching them the most. Like the Heather, Tamara, Shannon, Vicky group is what I want to see fight. I'm really not that interested in Jen Pedantry. And Blake: Same. Casey: I think it would be really messed up to fire Carmela. I think that that would make them look dumb. Like I'm not I don't really feel like that's necessary. She had a diabetic episode and she couldn't go on the cast trip. Like, and we're firing her? Blake: Yeah, I guess where I Casey: And her man was like leaving her too. so I guess that's I don't know. I think she's fine. Blake: Right. Where I ultimately land is like I think that it might just be a situation where we do need another season. Probably just bring everybody back. I I think if you're going to say we have to fire somebody, Emily Simpson to me is like the one that makes the most sense. Casey: Is the obvious one, I agree. Blake: Right. And I would love to see Gina without her. I actually like Gina. I know that's not popular opinion, but I think Gina keeps things moving in a way that I think is necessary. Casey: I'm indifferent. I'm like not I don't think she needs to be fired. I wouldn't be devastated if she was, but I would I'm not one Blake: Right. Casey: of the people that feels like that's necessary. I I I think I'm like more of a easy to please housewife viewer. I for the most Blake: You definitely are. Casey: part like the women that they cast. I get comfortable with the people that are around. Like there are some that like if they want to get rid of them on like say la vie to me, but like I I don't really feel the same level of vitriol that like regular fans feel of like this needs to change. Like Orange County is fine. Like it's a perfect for me. Right now they're giving me like a three to three and a half stars season out of five. And like that's a solid television season. Like Why do we everything doesn't need to be amazing all the time. Blake: Yeah. I mean I think that there's arguments to be made about certain people who've overstayed their welcomes or whatever, and like I definitely have like stronger opinions than you do, but I don't think it needs to be completely rebooted. I do I will say this if Vicky doesn't want to be a housewife anymore, or doesn't like what being a housewife currently is, she should just not be one. I and I I am saying this as someone who wants her on the show, who loves her I just don't like the bad attitude and I Casey: Yeah, I feel like it's I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. Blake: I just I honestly feel like for me it's more like she wants it to be I'll do I'll talk about what I want on my terms. I won't go to certain subjects, I'm gonna run away from certain things. And she has brought it down a bit, and it's it pains me to say because I was championing her return and a lot of people that I know who haven't fully seen Orange County, which is their fault. th a lot of their like first reactions are like she just on Orange on Orange County and Ultimate Girls trip, she's just bringing it down. She just doesn't want to be there. Which I can't blame you for thinking that. But I am ultimately never gonna say make a rash decision off of one season because we know what happened with New York. Casey: I agree. I that's what I mean of let's give it one more. Let's give Carmela one more. If you're gonna fire anybody, have it be Emily if you need to go with two. Then take Jennifer Predantry. I think she's racist. Blake: Yeah. Casey: I think I'm over her. Like Blake: Yeah. Casey: I I honestly would rather her be the number two firing way over Car Carmella. I don't think she brings that much to the table. Blake: We can give Carmelo another chance, yeah. we Chen has Casey: I thought she's cool. I think her and Ashley Quai are the exact same casting. They're giving they're giving the same to Blake: Interesting. Casey: me. they look almost similar. Like I don't know. I th I'm happy with both them to stay another season. Like I don't think either of them should I honestly don't like unless you're like Kim Fields, like I don't believe in the one the one and done chop. Like you usually could Blake: Yeah. Casey: come back for like one more. If not maybe a demotion, like let's see if you deserve to be a friend, like after Blake: Right. Casey: after one. But I don't I don't know what what should happen with Orange County. I think I I'm against anybody being fired but the two that I said. I I don't think that that would be right. I wouldn't be pissed if it was Gina, Blake: Emily's a strong number one. Casey: but I don't think that's necessary. Blake: Yeah. I think that there's a line of f fire before we get to Gina, Yeah. Casey: Right, no, I agree. the I w of if it happened I wouldn't be upset, 'cause she's not like my Shayla, but I don't think that that's necessary, slash should. Blake: Agreed. alright, y'all. Thank you for listening. This was our first experimental little mini Casey: Sorry we're not so many. Blake: sode. I mean, it's mini for us. Casey: It's mini it's our shortest episode ever. Blake: Right. And I just want to remind everybody, next week on Tuesday, November third, we are having midterm elections in this country and And we have a chance to kick the fucking Republicans out of office and push back against all the dangerous, damaging, hateful shit that Donald Trump is doing. I don't know where y'all live, so I can't give you advice on wh who to vote for or what to vote for. Obviously, do not vote for Republicans. You can always Google, you know, we're a progressive podcast. We consider ourselves progressives. I consider myself the leftist, a socialist. You can always Google leftist progressive socialist voting guides And there will be a local org that's probably reviewed everything and told you what they recommend voting for. so all I can say is please make a plan to vote, check if you can early vote, check where you can vote, and make a plan to vote, tell your friends, your family to vote, unless they're gonna vote for Republicans, then do not remind them. And get out and vote so that we can have A better direction for this fucking country. that's my little bit of politics preaching for you guys, which we don't do often, but just fucking vote. S stay in line. Casey: Just vote, just vote. If you're in line to vote, then fucking stay in line. And it's Tuesday, November 3rd. So wake up and vote. Blake: Tuesday Unless you're unless you're a Republican, then it's Wednesday. Love you guys. Thanks for tuning in and we will have Casey: We love you. Blake: more mini sods on the way. Good night or good morning or good afternoon. Bye. Casey: Bye.
