- 1:13Speaker 1: I mean, I am pretty effing good today. We got
- 1:17Speaker 1: a lot to talk about on this episode. How is
- 1:20Speaker 1: everybody doing out there in the world? Welcome back. It's
- 1:24Speaker 1: February out Chia, and you know what that means certain
- 1:29Speaker 1: young boy's birthdays. You know it's not far, It's not far,
- 1:33Speaker 1: It's not far. This month is mad short, yo, mad
- 1:37Speaker 1: fucking short. Every time I forget how short my month
- 1:41Speaker 1: is and how quickly, And it's like most of this
- 1:43Speaker 1: month of the Quary shout out to all their aquarians
- 1:45Speaker 1: out there, so it's like I'm the Pisces.
- 1:47Speaker 2: At the end of it.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And then I feel like we get shorted in general,
- 1:50Speaker 1: like I don't know, it feels like pisy shoes and
- 1:53Speaker 1: just flies drive by every time.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Well, it's also Black History Month, which means keep your
- 1:57Speaker 3: third eye open, stay woke up. You know, I definitely
- 2:04Speaker 3: got my Coofie hat on in my avy on blue
- 2:07Speaker 3: sky along with the rest of the blacks there. So
- 2:10Speaker 3: I'm having a good time. But yeah, I do know
- 2:14Speaker 3: this month to be your my mother, this month to
- 2:15Speaker 3: be Black History Month. As far as how I'm doing,
- 2:17Speaker 3: I'm actually highly full of anxiety and stress just in
- 2:21Speaker 3: general things happening. But I also got to remember someone
- 2:26Speaker 3: else got to take care of it, and not me
- 2:29Speaker 3: as a black woman. I got nothing to do with
- 2:31Speaker 3: y'all problems. I'm just gonna have to control what I
- 2:35Speaker 3: can and talk about what I enjoy and move on.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Oh that might be a little difficult because it is
- 2:41Speaker 1: getting wild out there.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Man like man is doing a lot.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Sam very quickly disturbing, like just oh my god. But
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know, I also rely on them just being a
- 2:52Speaker 1: bunch of trifling idiots and you know, something to help
- 2:55Speaker 1: out in the end.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And like you said, I ain't got nothing to do
- 2:58Speaker 2: with anyway, what I dude got to do with today.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Hmmm mm hmm.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Like I said in the video that you can see
- 3:06Speaker 1: on our Instagram, you know, behind me is your boy Galatis.
- 3:10Speaker 1: In front of me is the Lattis up top to
- 3:13Speaker 1: the left. Y'all can't even see him. I got more
- 3:15Speaker 1: Galatus and the whole Fantastic four up there to.
- 3:17Speaker 4: The left of them, Cannon's to the right of them,
- 3:20Speaker 4: in front of them.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Let me from that episode of course.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Of course, I'll be honest, I did not realize that
- 3:29Speaker 1: was a fresh Prince reference.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I just know that reference.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that was Jeffrey Wow.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Probably, I know, I've seen it.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I get told whatever his name was on there.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Oh okay, I definitely.
- 3:43Speaker 4: His name from.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I've seen pretty much every episode of Freshman's I'm pretty sure.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But yeah, like I don't remember, I didn't remember that's
- 3:52Speaker 1: where from. But yes, folks, the first and this is
- 3:56Speaker 1: only the teaser trailer. Really, the teaser trailer for fan
- 4:00Speaker 1: Fantastic four First Steps dropped early this morning. It was
- 4:06Speaker 1: honestly everything I could want. I am, like you know,
- 4:10Speaker 1: as you see, I am A Galactus is probably my
- 4:13Speaker 1: favorite character in the Marvel universe. The Fantastic Four, honestly
- 4:16Speaker 1: are some of my favorite comic books growing up. There
- 4:19Speaker 1: was a run by John Byrne, the Legend. He wrote Andrew.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's one of my favorite runs in comics by John
- 4:25Speaker 1: is this incredible artist and his writing at that time
- 4:28Speaker 1: was peak shit.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It was fire, peer fire.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I don't even know the cat's name right now, but
- 4:33Speaker 1: the motherfucker is absolutely destroying Fantastic for right now. Like
- 4:37Speaker 1: the Fantastic Four comic book right now is one of
- 4:41Speaker 1: the best things on the stands.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Go pick it up, y'all. It's perfect Fantastic four. And
- 4:46Speaker 2: you're gonna.
- 4:47Speaker 1: See a lot of the vibe at least in this
- 4:49Speaker 1: movie because it's about the family, and that is what
- 4:55Speaker 1: I mean, That's what I'm saying. Diesel kind of gets
- 4:59Speaker 1: it from the fantast like that's what stan Lee. This
- 5:02Speaker 1: is Stanley's first comic, y'all. This is like The one
- 5:05Speaker 1: that changed everything was The Fantastic Four. Like he was
- 5:08Speaker 1: about to quit comics forever, and his wife was like, yo,
- 5:11Speaker 1: before you do that. Because he wrote a bunch of
- 5:13Speaker 1: romance and like Western Joints and stuff like that, and
- 5:16Speaker 1: some whack superheroes. I think that he wasn't feeling and
- 5:19Speaker 1: his wife was like, yo, before you quit, write one
- 5:21Speaker 1: comic that you really love.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And the man went home, you know.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Allegedly, you know, because there's also Jack Kirby involved in
- 5:29Speaker 1: a lot of this as well.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Shout out to the God.
- 5:31Speaker 1: But they went and wrote The Fantastic Four, and that's
- 5:35Speaker 1: how it all started, you know what I mean. And
- 5:37Speaker 1: it starts right there with all four of them, the
- 5:39Speaker 1: four elements and the family from the beginning. That's what
- 5:43Speaker 1: made him different. They were a family of superheroes. They
- 5:46Speaker 1: were publicly known. They you know, everybody knew them. Everybody,
- 5:50Speaker 1: you know, thing was out there in his suit. All
- 5:53Speaker 1: the issues see in this trailer comes from the you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: these early comics, and it's all been refined and redone
- 6:00Speaker 1: throughout the ages by everyone. But it's just they got
- 6:04Speaker 1: the essence in that trailer, and I was damned there crying,
- 6:07Speaker 1: like you know Ben has always been a rock.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Is killing me right now?
- 6:12Speaker 1: That's up there with that moment and the man of
- 6:15Speaker 1: Steel joint you oh my son or whatever he said
- 6:18Speaker 1: to him in that first.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Joint said, yeah, some shit he says to him, very heartfelt,
- 6:23Speaker 4: was very yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 1: But Sue's storm being the anchor, being the you know,
- 6:29Speaker 1: the link in the family and whole, and like being
- 6:31Speaker 1: one of the dopest characters in Marvel as well, and
- 6:35Speaker 1: holding that whole shit together and you know, like putting
- 6:38Speaker 1: Read in his place. You know, everything was in that.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You know, Johnny is Johnny, you know what I mean.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Ben has always been a rock. I will always be
- 6:46Speaker 1: here for you. Where a family, we can handle anything.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Bruh.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 3: And I think the tone is what is going to
- 6:54Speaker 3: propel us to be successful. Yeah, absolutely, because similarly, I
- 7:00Speaker 3: have background with Frantastic four. I'll be it from different
- 7:04Speaker 3: medium from the cartoon, cartoon as well as the live
- 7:09Speaker 3: actions from the.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Two thousands fires.
- 7:12Speaker 3: There was actually, like really thinking back at it, there
- 7:15Speaker 3: wasn't necessarily anything critically.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Wrong with that movies.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Like even even when they was like playing loose and
- 7:22Speaker 3: fast with the casting, like it's still worked. And even
- 7:25Speaker 3: when you go back, like, yeah, there's gonna be some
- 7:27Speaker 3: wonky things here and there, but it's not a bad film.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Like I never thought the Fantastic Four films was just
- 7:32Speaker 3: straight up bad. They like they they while they tried
- 7:36Speaker 3: to do like the cool two thousands, you're like, oh,
- 7:39Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna make you give a were a
- 7:41Speaker 3: cool outfit and this and that, Like they still try
- 7:43Speaker 3: to keep the general spirit there, right, and like for
- 7:46Speaker 3: the same reasons why Michael Chicklis had forever been my
- 7:51Speaker 3: like like number one Ben Grim, Like no one could
- 7:55Speaker 3: tell me anybody else was Ben Grim.
- 7:56Speaker 4: And here is that whatever it is?
- 7:58Speaker 3: Right, seeing that evolution between Chris Evans and Johnny Storm
- 8:03Speaker 3: and then Michael B.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Jordan's murdered, and then of course I said, I said.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Jordan.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I just wanted to clarify, I didn't say murdered it
- 8:12Speaker 1: for both of them.
- 8:14Speaker 4: You're rude.
- 8:15Speaker 1: But I loved half of that movie.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Okay, whether they murdered or not, it's not my point.
- 8:23Speaker 3: My point is just that tonally, those original movies still
- 8:28Speaker 3: try to keep generally the heart of what those people
- 8:31Speaker 3: were and this new this new approach that fittested for
- 8:35Speaker 3: hits then on the head like and goes and takes
- 8:38Speaker 3: it even further back.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Is Ben mentioned the comics.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I came from the cartoon, It went back to that
- 8:44Speaker 3: and then threw some cool.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Shit in there.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And I think that's once again that's what's gonna set
- 8:49Speaker 3: this off because bringing it back to basics but then
- 8:52Speaker 3: adding cool shit. The other reason why I think that
- 8:55Speaker 3: this is actually going to be an easy win for
- 8:57Speaker 3: Marvel if what I saw from the trailer is true
- 9:00Speaker 3: what we see from the full film is because we
- 9:03Speaker 3: talk about creative and art direction, that retro futuristic approach
- 9:07Speaker 3: as opposed to remember I said where the two thousands
- 9:09Speaker 3: tripped up was y'all niggas wanted to be the matrix, right,
- 9:12Speaker 3: y'all wanted to make everything flashy, flashy. It's just like, hey,
- 9:16Speaker 3: you have the setup of the family, but give me
- 9:18Speaker 3: a real I don't want to say down home, but
- 9:21Speaker 3: a real heartfelt story.
- 9:23Speaker 4: And I think that's where this trailer is taking it.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Like I said, I really hope the film remains in
- 9:28Speaker 3: that space because that's what's going to make this movie
- 9:30Speaker 3: a winner. And again, as mentioned the creative direction, when
- 9:33Speaker 3: we see that it's a retro futuristic sixties approach, but.
- 9:38Speaker 4: It like it looks good, it looks clean in the
- 9:42Speaker 4: trailer itself.
- 9:43Speaker 3: The color grading that they use, like that technic color
- 9:46Speaker 3: like I noticed, like visually you notice those differences, and
- 9:50Speaker 3: especially in now in twenty twenty five, that's going to
- 9:53Speaker 3: stand out significantly from things you see in the space,
- 9:56Speaker 3: in the film space right now, casting wise casting At
- 10:00Speaker 3: one point Homegirl from I call her Homegirl from the
- 10:03Speaker 3: Mission Impossible series, who I.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Was worried about her.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Why would you be worried about her?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Because yeah, okay, listen, it was for reasons because she
- 10:12Speaker 1: is so good in Mission Impossible, and she is stunning too.
- 10:16Speaker 2: The woman is absolutely gorgeous. But it's like she's so icy.
- 10:21Speaker 1: In Mission Impossible that I wasn't sure, you know, I
- 10:24Speaker 1: haven't seen her much else where. I could see, okay,
- 10:26Speaker 1: she can do sue storm, And then this trailer had
- 10:29Speaker 1: me like, fuck, do.
- 10:31Speaker 3: You remember the part of the latest the last Mission
- 10:35Speaker 3: Impossible where yeah she was icy, but then she was
- 10:38Speaker 3: basically playing two cats. She made herself but in a
- 10:40Speaker 3: different way. She was like what's like she was?
- 10:45Speaker 1: The funny thing is I just rewatched it, and so
- 10:47Speaker 1: that's why you're right. I didn't even think about that,
- 10:49Speaker 1: but when I watched it, I was like, oh, she
- 10:52Speaker 1: nice to.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Say, she has the range.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yes, she can do the icy, she can do the
- 10:57Speaker 3: like you said, the mother bird, Like I'm bringing up
- 10:58Speaker 3: the family together. It's like her name is Vanessa Kirby, Vanessa.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I had no doubts about her. I was like, oh,
- 11:05Speaker 3: she got that ship and she has the old school
- 11:08Speaker 3: look of what who Storm looks like. Then of course
- 11:12Speaker 3: you have Pedro Pascal, who he's He's perfect on multiple
- 11:16Speaker 3: levels as an actor, as a as an artist, as
- 11:20Speaker 3: a creator, like he's just amazing, and as a daddy.
- 11:24Speaker 3: He has range beyond range as well. Right, so that
- 11:28Speaker 3: was no question. But also he has to deliver rich
- 11:33Speaker 3: Richard in a particular way too, Okay, because the way Richard,
- 11:37Speaker 3: the way I always see Richard was like he yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 3: he was a smart nerd whatever, but like I still
- 11:43Speaker 3: fucked with.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Him, Like he wasn't never for me.
- 11:46Speaker 3: He was never like oh that managed like one nerd.
- 11:49Speaker 4: He's he's never some of us annoying.
- 11:51Speaker 3: He's even a little bit cool in a way, right
- 11:55Speaker 3: not you know, and and he has that edge to him.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Pedro Pascal has that edge to him that matches what
- 12:00Speaker 3: I see and read.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Read is an interesting and what thing is especially in
- 12:05Speaker 1: recent well this is not even recent now, but like
- 12:07Speaker 1: the last fifteen I think twenty years.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I think.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm not sure how long the character's been around, but
- 12:11Speaker 1: there's been an evil version of Read Richard's running around
- 12:14Speaker 1: yeah MCU yeah for the longest now named the Maker.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And so the Maker has been you know, the version
- 12:22Speaker 1: that a lot of people have now grown up with.
- 12:24Speaker 1: In fact, in the Ultimate University is having a big
- 12:27Speaker 1: run right now. So I think Pedro can do both
- 12:31Speaker 1: of those sides, because that's the thing. Reid is supposed
- 12:33Speaker 1: to be naturally so smart that he doesn't really get people,
- 12:38Speaker 1: you know, he doesn't get and Sue is like his
- 12:40Speaker 1: link to the world, and without her he goes off
- 12:44Speaker 1: the deep end.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah yeah.
- 12:45Speaker 3: And prior to this, who do we have plane read
- 12:49Speaker 3: John Krasinski and that moment in time of the Multiverse
- 12:54Speaker 3: of Madness, which is just like, I'm just this is
- 12:59Speaker 3: a great Clinton.
- 13:01Speaker 4: He wasn't horrible, but this is not That's not what
- 13:03Speaker 4: I wanted.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I know what I wanted John when they were you
- 13:07Speaker 1: know him. I'm sorry, John, I like you would not no,
- 13:11Speaker 1: never read. Yeah, Pedro is like Pedro has the like
- 13:15Speaker 1: all these actors have that soul to them, the soul, yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know, and that's what like Pedro Vanessa, please give
- 13:23Speaker 1: me my cousin's name.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Listen, this is the guy I want to talk about.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Ebon Moss Backrop. You know, there was a the bear
- 13:32Speaker 3: reference in the trailer how when he was talking to.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Her being the food, tasting the.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Food, and he was just like, well, he's a little
- 13:42Speaker 4: bit straight straight from the bear.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I didn't even care. I didn't think about it, but
- 13:47Speaker 2: you're right.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Straight and a lot I did.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I was listening to what other people were saying or
- 13:51Speaker 3: reading what other people were saying about the trailer, and
- 13:53Speaker 3: generally it was good.
- 13:54Speaker 4: And some people like, oh, you know, they they mentioned Michael.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Chicklists and they say, oh, they still see him as eponymous,
- 14:01Speaker 3: you know version, but then also, oh, I wish things
- 14:03Speaker 3: voice was deeper. I was just like, ah, actually, yvon nah,
- 14:06Speaker 3: I don't think there's a problem there.
- 14:08Speaker 4: It's Evon or Evan.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I'm sorry if I'm pronouncing that wrong, but his approach.
- 14:13Speaker 4: It is he he is, he has.
- 14:16Speaker 3: The soul you said it, Ben, He has that soul
- 14:18Speaker 3: already in him. Like you said, you want to use
- 14:20Speaker 3: someone a cousin and put that in this space, like
- 14:23Speaker 3: some of that is like that's there, the hardness, not
- 14:27Speaker 3: you know, not the fun, but the hardness of it,
- 14:30Speaker 3: the softness of it under the hardness.
- 14:32Speaker 4: The vulnerability, the deep.
- 14:34Speaker 3: That's one thing people don't remember about Ben grim He
- 14:37Speaker 3: is vulnerable like a motherfucker.
- 14:39Speaker 4: The man is jelly, but he and that is like.
- 14:43Speaker 3: That, there's literally a whole like you know, drama play
- 14:47Speaker 3: within just Ben Grimm by himself. And you need someone
- 14:51Speaker 3: with that tough exterior but knowing interior to be able
- 14:55Speaker 3: to deliver that. And you've seen Eban or Eyvon do
- 14:58Speaker 3: that already. You've seen him do that over and over again.
- 15:01Speaker 3: You see him bring you to tears and his acting, So.
- 15:05Speaker 4: What else could you want?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Like you said, Michael has that moment when did Trump
- 15:10Speaker 1: straight from the comments when he's standing outside of Releasha
- 15:12Speaker 1: Master's apartment and he's in the trench croat. Yeah, Michael
- 15:16Speaker 1: Tickliss in the original films and it's like fire as hell.
- 15:20Speaker 1: But the shot of Ben in the trench in this
- 15:23Speaker 1: one and being sad eyes yo, because that's one of
- 15:27Speaker 1: his aka's the big blue eyes, his big blue eyes
- 15:30Speaker 1: poking yo.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 3: And also there was some talk from some people it
- 15:34Speaker 3: was half a half split. Some people thought that because
- 15:37Speaker 3: they're still working on I guess the people thought the
- 15:38Speaker 3: CG wasn't that good.
- 15:39Speaker 2: It looked weird to me.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I didn't have the greatest problem even when they zoomed
- 15:45Speaker 3: in on Ben and you know, you can see more
- 15:47Speaker 3: of the craggly of it, Like I could tell they
- 15:48Speaker 3: were still polishing it.
- 15:50Speaker 4: But it's not horrible. What when you said that blue
- 15:52Speaker 4: eye part.
- 15:52Speaker 3: That's actually when I got set off by the blue
- 15:54Speaker 3: eyes when it went in the beginning when he was
- 15:57Speaker 3: talking to Herbie, when it went to him and he
- 15:58Speaker 3: was tasting the food and his eyes went back and forth.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I said, oh, Like, that's when I was like, Oh,
- 16:02Speaker 3: they're really trying to make this ship happen for real.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I'm with it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I'm you can watch my reaction video on my eyes.
- 16:10Speaker 1: When I first see Ben, I'm like, what the fuck
- 16:12Speaker 1: is going on? Because I'm so used to Michael stin
- 16:15Speaker 1: outlook in that film. But the longer I watched it,
- 16:19Speaker 1: the more times I watched the trailer, I was just like,
- 16:21Speaker 1: oh no, they're doing something so dope with the way
- 16:23Speaker 1: Stin moves, the way things looks. It's perfect to me
- 16:27Speaker 1: so far, like and they're gonna touch it up. And
- 16:30Speaker 1: then you know the other dude, you know, Robert Downey
- 16:33Speaker 1: Junior junior overgain Joseph Quinn.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yes, he was for a second.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Every time I see him, I'm like, yo, look so
- 16:44Speaker 1: much like young Robert Downey Jr.
- 16:46Speaker 4: You know what I don't.
- 16:47Speaker 3: And I thought about that when I was on the
- 16:49Speaker 3: plane recently and watched Quiet Place Day one, and I
- 16:52Speaker 3: was just like, and that was him.
- 16:53Speaker 4: He was the white guy in it. I was just like, oh,
- 16:56Speaker 4: he does like r DJ.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 1: People have been like making the come Paris and all
- 17:01Speaker 1: that type of stuff. Yeah, he in certain shots, even
- 17:04Speaker 1: when in this one when he's about to jump off
- 17:06Speaker 1: the roof and turn into the torch, I was like,
- 17:08Speaker 1: damn once again.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, and he looked And like I said,
- 17:12Speaker 3: I think that that that slag grant approach of Johnny
- 17:16Speaker 3: with the mixed with the immaturity, mixed with the you're
- 17:19Speaker 3: watching him learn and grow as he's gotten powers and
- 17:24Speaker 3: and sometimes not grow. Because that's another thing that a
- 17:26Speaker 3: lot of people think, oh, sometimes characters get better. No,
- 17:28Speaker 3: sometimes there's still the same old fuck.
- 17:30Speaker 4: That fuck it.
- 17:30Speaker 3: But like that's just but they're still good intrinsically good, right,
- 17:34Speaker 3: Chaota good if you will, Yeah, And I think Joseph
- 17:37Speaker 3: doing very well and portraying that Chaota good even in
- 17:39Speaker 3: that small space. So overall, like this ship again, I
- 17:42Speaker 3: feel like this is an easy win for Marvel if
- 17:44Speaker 3: they really follow through what we just saw.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I'm I'm I wasn't.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I wasn't necessarily checking for another fantastic for movie, but
- 17:52Speaker 3: I wasn't doubting another fantastic for a movie.
- 17:53Speaker 4: And based on what I saw, I'm like, I'm there.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I've been checking for it just because of one thing.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And you know one thing only I've been checking.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Man oh and and and that's and that's actually what
- 18:05Speaker 3: I said. I said all these other things, and then
- 18:07Speaker 3: I said, fucking galactis because that little bit that they
- 18:12Speaker 3: gave you at the end, the head, the back of
- 18:15Speaker 3: the head, the back of the head, it was two things.
- 18:17Speaker 3: It was a shadow over the thing and the town,
- 18:21Speaker 3: and then the back of the head, I said, my nigga,
- 18:23Speaker 3: the back of the head facing the statue of.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Liberty over How do you know, I'm gonna say for
- 18:28Speaker 4: those of the don't know, do you know how big
- 18:29Speaker 4: the statue liberty.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Is towering over it? Howy over the fatue of liberty. Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 1: From what we know, this takes place in like an
- 18:41Speaker 1: alternate world where I think the Fantastic Four and then
- 18:44Speaker 1: they're going to somehow end up in the main m
- 18:47Speaker 1: c U. By the time I was all said done.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But that's why this is like they have their weird
- 18:51Speaker 1: you know, like sixties modern type world that's going on,
- 18:54Speaker 1: and we'll see more of that is the trailers come
- 18:56Speaker 1: out and everything else. But yeah, it was the tone.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It was the look. It was the apt thing, the
- 19:02Speaker 1: suits all of perfect, the bright blue.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Everything's perfect, the scoring, the scoring, the way it sounds
- 19:08Speaker 3: that the music in the.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Back Francis and four.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It felt like, uh and I know, Chico Leo get
- 19:14Speaker 1: this flash doord in the movie?
- 19:16Speaker 2: The flash? You know?
- 19:18Speaker 1: It was that type of big like symphonic world up tomorrow.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Like from like the World Fair type shit back in
- 19:25Speaker 3: the day. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get you. Like it
- 19:27Speaker 3: hits all the hits, all the markets, hit all the notes,
- 19:30Speaker 3: so it's fire.
- 19:32Speaker 4: It comes out July twenty fifth, twenty And it's funny.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It was like, just like last week, I was sitting
- 19:37Speaker 1: there thinking, like, yo, that movie is coming out this year.
- 19:41Speaker 2: This year. I'm like, y'all don't know. I'm it's almost done.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Now I'm having a Galatois mask actually top down. You know,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I might need you to be Silver Surfer or you
- 19:52Speaker 1: could take your pick. But we coming hard at New
- 19:55Speaker 1: York coma cond this year. Right, I'm letting you know.
- 19:58Speaker 2: We are doing the Lattice and what any of the
- 20:02Speaker 2: heralds Galactic?
- 20:04Speaker 4: I don't galactic.
- 20:07Speaker 2: You got Silver Surfer, I hear.
- 20:09Speaker 4: You, all right, Silver Surfer. That's it. That's all I got.
- 20:13Speaker 2: That's all, you know.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all I know. Like I'm gonna get Chico
- 20:17Speaker 1: to be tar Acts and we'll figure out some other joints.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But yeah, we come in, you know, to be stupid stupid.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So yeah, that's yeah. Because I've been waiting for this.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I actually wanted this before you know, the movie comes out,
- 20:29Speaker 1: but I'm gonna have it in time.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I might have to wear it to the premiere.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Whilebert On mcu stuff, What do you feel about the
- 20:35Speaker 3: prospect of Jonathan Major's maybe coming back.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Well, stay woke, kan, I'm down for it.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Did you see the trailer of his shelved boxing movie?
- 20:47Speaker 2: And what did you know?
- 20:48Speaker 1: I haven't seen it yet, but it's like the funny
- 20:52Speaker 1: thing is that movie was like, U gonna be up.
- 20:54Speaker 2: For all the Oscars this year.
- 20:56Speaker 1: They said, yeah, it was an Oscar early choice, the vehicle, Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: after vehicle, all that type of stuff.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Uh do you think they forgiven that the Hollywood that
- 21:09Speaker 3: normally white guys would be forgiving by now? Do you
- 21:10Speaker 3: think he's been forgiving you? He still has another cycle
- 21:13Speaker 3: to go.
- 21:17Speaker 1: The fact that Magazine Dreams is coming out is like
- 21:19Speaker 1: pretty much one hundred percent guarantee that he will be
- 21:21Speaker 1: back in them See You because Magazine, you think that's
- 21:24Speaker 1: a huge movie that you know they're going to put
- 21:28Speaker 1: him right back on the map according to everyone who's
- 21:31Speaker 1: seen it. So there's no reason that he won't be
- 21:34Speaker 1: popping after this. And not Guilty, my you know, state
- 21:38Speaker 1: walk came like he good.
- 21:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You said not guilty, not guilty, right? I thought, not again,
- 21:47Speaker 3: I don't. I stopped following after the convictions. I stopped following,
- 21:51Speaker 3: So I don't.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Know if they were I thought they got dismissed afterward.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Maybe it is I just I stopped following.
- 21:57Speaker 2: In the way magazine dreams coming out.
- 21:58Speaker 1: If they them, you know, if they still thought that
- 22:01Speaker 1: man had done anything to that blond hair, blue eye.
- 22:04Speaker 4: You know, listen, both of them was both of them
- 22:06Speaker 4: was weird and that ship.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Everybody was wed.
- 22:08Speaker 3: He did what he he did what he did, and
- 22:10Speaker 3: that happened, and he did try and run the hell away.
- 22:12Speaker 3: You know. All of the stuff that happened happened. All
- 22:17Speaker 3: the stuff that was documented happened. I'm just gonna say
- 22:19Speaker 3: that all of a sudden that was documented, it's shown happened.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Ye that aside. Uh, that's just as far as them
- 22:28Speaker 3: bringing him back was just interesting.
- 22:30Speaker 4: It's just interesting work.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's really interesting, especially if they've gone to
- 22:34Speaker 1: this length to you know, change the movie to Doomsday
- 22:36Speaker 1: and they started.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Filming, and I'm just like, what that's just.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Like, man, that must hurt, Like, you know, is he
- 22:42Speaker 1: gonna be like in are they gonna bring him back
- 22:44Speaker 1: to kill him? Like everybody says, because in the original
- 22:46Speaker 1: Secret Wars, Kane gets killed by Doctor Doom.
- 22:51Speaker 3: We he stops saying that, but didn't Kane get like
- 22:57Speaker 3: like carted off by a bunch of ants at the
- 22:58Speaker 3: end of the quans of Baty, So like, what do
- 23:00Speaker 3: you mean he got like?
- 23:03Speaker 2: I mean we had the other canes who you know,
- 23:04Speaker 2: almost sounded like monkeys.
- 23:06Speaker 4: So again, only you heard that.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I know I wasn't the only one. People on the
- 23:10Speaker 2: internet also agreed with me. People everywhere were saying.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Who's everywhere? People like people everywhere? Okay, fine, whatever.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Many people are saying whatever.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I think that's the wrap up the Marvel stuff. Then
- 23:27Speaker 3: you are on Marvel Rivals. You're doing it on what
- 23:31Speaker 3: you do on PS or.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah, PS five. Sometimes I'm trash, folks, let me say that.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I am my flare tag.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I need to start streaming and see I can see
- 23:44Speaker 2: how Garb.
- 23:47Speaker 4: You got to rename your channel the trash streamer.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I mean it's like, I'm pretty good at Overwatch, which
- 23:54Speaker 1: is why I don't understand how I am guard. It's
- 23:56Speaker 1: not the same mechanics that that third person view. I
- 24:00Speaker 1: can't say this saying that third person Yes it is.
- 24:04Speaker 1: They stole everything from Overwatch, pretty dark.
- 24:06Speaker 2: What is it? What it's not necessary everything? Yes, it is,
- 24:10Speaker 2: it's like.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Necessarily they was on the locker outside of.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Plast copy of my homework, but just changed one thing.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Third, last last minute before they walked into the class,
- 24:25Speaker 2: like the bell ring. Yeah no, but it's dope.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It's fire ad me DJ Ben, I mean, you know
- 24:33Speaker 1: how spelled all one word on PS and I think
- 24:35Speaker 1: it's uh cross play now on edgbox ad me in general. Yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 1: and you can see how trash I am because I
- 24:42Speaker 1: am garbage, like you're hilarious. I gotta find a character
- 24:46Speaker 1: that works for me, because ain't nobody been doing it.
- 24:48Speaker 2: For me so far?
- 24:50Speaker 4: What else?
- 24:50Speaker 1: Ben?
- 24:50Speaker 4: I mean what you've been watching. I need to get
- 24:54Speaker 4: into seventh.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I started to get into Showgun actually, which is fucking.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I got to finish the first seas and because I
- 25:00Speaker 1: fell off that, like I watched like three episodes and
- 25:02Speaker 1: then never went back. Okay, yeah, people, you know, like
- 25:06Speaker 1: it was the time of my life, right, I want
- 25:07Speaker 1: to see people get chopped up, not like Severn. I
- 25:12Speaker 1: mean seven times people getting chopped up, but it definitely
- 25:14Speaker 1: has some psychological torture. It was one of them shows
- 25:17Speaker 1: like where I'm watching, I'm like, Okay, this is solid,
- 25:19Speaker 1: this is you know, really really good, but it's not
- 25:22Speaker 1: one of the greatest things I've ever seen, Like, you know,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I would say of other things, but by the time
- 25:28Speaker 1: I finished the first season, that finale and pretty much
- 25:32Speaker 1: how it led into the finale, and just how the
- 25:34Speaker 1: whole season was structured around, you know, just being dope,
- 25:38Speaker 1: it turned into one of my like favorite shows.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I think it's really fucking incredible.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Ben Stiller, you know, is doing an incredible job as
- 25:47Speaker 1: producer and director, all the actors on it. It's such
- 25:51Speaker 1: an ill concept where it it just it took me
- 25:56Speaker 1: a second even just even when you know, if you
- 25:58Speaker 1: know the concept of the innis and that as it's
- 26:01Speaker 1: just really hard once you start watching it to really
- 26:03Speaker 1: wrap your mind around how this works and how it sucks.
- 26:06Speaker 2: These people up.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And then like even in the second season, there was
- 26:09Speaker 1: a line of dialogue where I'm like, oh shit, they've
- 26:12Speaker 1: never even experienced that.
- 26:14Speaker 2: That's crazy. How could you imagine that?
- 26:16Speaker 3: You know.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So it's like it's a very ill concept and a
- 26:19Speaker 1: very ill show, and I'm really hyped to see where
- 26:21Speaker 1: it goes. The second season is now ongoing on Apple TV.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm you know, not reviewing it or anything, because I
- 26:28Speaker 1: really don't feel like i'd have to dive a deep,
- 26:30Speaker 1: deep dive into it, and I really don't, and.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Here are some complications there, but like I want to
- 26:34Speaker 3: just in terms of like how you said it's the
- 26:37Speaker 3: mechanics of the show.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot that's the thing. And there's a
- 26:42Speaker 1: lot of like there's mad theories online.
- 26:44Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It's one of these shows where it's like a lost
- 26:46Speaker 1: type show where mad things are being introducing, like what
- 26:49Speaker 1: the hell does that mean?
- 26:50Speaker 2: And you have no idea And it seems.
- 26:53Speaker 1: To for me at least, there's definitely it feels like
- 26:57Speaker 1: it is referencing or draws ration from BioShock, especially the
- 27:04Speaker 1: second bioshockishot. Yeah, well if Bishock has some problems for
- 27:10Speaker 1: the trying to make it like white people, you know,
- 27:13Speaker 1: like the both sides are bad type things.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, the game. I enjoyed playing it.
- 27:18Speaker 1: It's fucking phenomenal. It's just that both sides of bad
- 27:21Speaker 1: part where it lost me. But yeah, it has with
- 27:23Speaker 1: that with like a you know, supreme white family who
- 27:27Speaker 1: has their ideas on how to run things, and you
- 27:30Speaker 1: know that that goes back generations and all that type
- 27:33Speaker 1: of stuff. So it has that in it plus just
- 27:35Speaker 1: a lot of weirdness and just a lot of dopeness
- 27:38Speaker 1: and then just really phenomenal acting and writing and that's
- 27:43Speaker 1: what really you know, like any show, like I can't
- 27:46Speaker 1: even spoil it, but there's just moments in the finale
- 27:49Speaker 1: to just stick with me where it's just like fuck, man,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you know, I just love these characters so much, and
- 27:54Speaker 1: I love the journey we're on with them, and wow.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 3: And like I said, I've been watching Showgun and I
- 28:02Speaker 3: just you know, I love the centering of Japanese culture
- 28:04Speaker 3: and you know, just learning more about like you know,
- 28:08Speaker 3: like you know, some of the historical context there and that,
- 28:11Speaker 3: and the cast.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Is phenomenal, like great writing as well. It pulls you
- 28:15Speaker 4: in immediately.
- 28:16Speaker 3: At least for me, it pulled me in immediately, and
- 28:18Speaker 3: I've just been on it since and I just love it.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I just love it. I've been watching Socco Moto days.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Oh, I watched the first episode of that. I loved it.
- 28:26Speaker 2: You liked it? Yeah, Yeah, I loved it. Yeah.
- 28:28Speaker 3: The most recent episode that came out like I won't
- 28:31Speaker 3: say what happened, but like like that, there's the whole
- 28:33Speaker 3: idea of about a retired assassin and like you know,
- 28:37Speaker 3: you know, his numbers coming up, Yes, as an anime
- 28:40Speaker 3: on Netflix, his.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Numbers up for you know, like, well, are you retired.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Or so you know not you know, we'll see but
- 28:46Speaker 3: uh not exactly and you see chaos ensues from there.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But it's it's a very interesting concept. I think I
- 28:54Speaker 3: don't know if they're doing on purpose some of the
- 28:55Speaker 3: voice acting I don't like, Like it just don't feel
- 28:59Speaker 3: like like know someone you could tell someone's acting, But
- 29:01Speaker 3: I don't know if it's on purpose because like the
- 29:04Speaker 3: character is supposed to be corny or like or what.
- 29:07Speaker 3: But that aside, and I actually hate Dubbs but whatever,
- 29:12Speaker 3: but that aside, I love it.
- 29:15Speaker 4: I love it. And I think I'm just like just
- 29:16Speaker 4: catching up my stuff in general. Really well some of them.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'll get to what I've been rewatching. I can't even
- 29:21Speaker 1: say much about it. I think I'm still huge NDA. Well,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I actually I have two things I need to talk about.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Things and I've seen because I forgot to mention this.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I did get to see and I saw some of
- 29:33Speaker 1: the new Captain America Brave New World. And I also
- 29:36Speaker 1: got to attend a little press conference with pretty much
- 29:41Speaker 1: everyone say he was up in there, yo, big silver
- 29:45Speaker 1: Beard fay days now get.
- 29:46Speaker 4: To jump on him and dunk on him.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Now, No, I didn't get to. I didn't get to
- 29:50Speaker 2: really bark on him.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I did get to ask the question, but you know,
- 29:53Speaker 1: they wisely didn't answer mine. Yeah, well I went from
- 30:02Speaker 1: you know, two good ones. But yeah, anyway, it was
- 30:04Speaker 1: a really dope conference on really dope footage scene from
- 30:08Speaker 1: the film and it seems that this might be what
- 30:13Speaker 1: people have been waiting for from since Endgame, and Anthony
- 30:18Speaker 1: Mackie said something really dope, well not really dope, but
- 30:20Speaker 1: it was just interesting.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Was that he talked about America where.
- 30:26Speaker 2: This is after that, just after he said it, then
- 30:28Speaker 2: walked it back.
- 30:30Speaker 4: He didn't have to.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Thing that was my question. That's what they didn't want to.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I think that fight didn't even asked answer that because
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't think they wanted to go back to that
- 30:39Speaker 1: type of ship, you know, because I basically was like, yo,
- 30:40Speaker 1: why are you getting you know when basically Chris and
- 30:44Speaker 1: the comments have said the same thing since the beginning
- 30:46Speaker 1: of the time.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But we all know why because he's black.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so because you but you're blood, you're blad but
- 30:54Speaker 1: but you're blook. But what thing that he did say
- 30:57Speaker 1: was he was on set for Endgame, and he told
- 31:00Speaker 1: him if to take a long time for us to
- 31:02Speaker 1: get past us and for audiences to get past this,
- 31:05Speaker 1: because this is such a first in a lifetime occurrence,
- 31:09Speaker 1: you know, in Game after twenty something to MyDD, Marvel
- 31:12Speaker 1: movies all culminating in this, this first time this has
- 31:16Speaker 1: ever happened, you know, in the history of cinema. So
- 31:20Speaker 1: people aren't just trying to be like, oh, what's next
- 31:22Speaker 1: and just be hyped for it, you know. And now
- 31:23Speaker 1: it's the problem, even though most of the things, especially
- 31:26Speaker 1: the films they've released since then, have been kind of
- 31:29Speaker 1: you know, with like exceptional. If I think Guardians of
- 31:31Speaker 1: the Galaxy was fire, yeah, I can't remember anything. Yeah, sorry,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I can't remember anything else. But even if they come
- 31:40Speaker 1: with some super fire right after, I think it would
- 31:42Speaker 1: have been hard for anything to match up to the
- 31:45Speaker 1: emotional level of Endgame and Infinity War, you know, the
- 31:49Speaker 1: one two punch of that. So this seems to be
- 31:53Speaker 1: the moment that where they start getting back on that
- 31:56Speaker 1: path Eternals with after that two damn right to turn.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they have had a.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Lot, we know what happened with their Yeah, they've.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Had a lot of movies, but this is like the
- 32:07Speaker 1: like he was saying, like the first building block towards
- 32:09Speaker 1: that next you know moment.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah, the next cycle, Yeah, the next big cycle where
- 32:15Speaker 3: people are gonna care again.
- 32:16Speaker 2: So yeah.
- 32:17Speaker 1: And then the other thing that I really can't even
- 32:19Speaker 1: say much about it all that I've been peeping that say,
- 32:21Speaker 1: I peap the whole first season of it is. I
- 32:23Speaker 1: think it's strong, the producers, it's corming on Apple as well.
- 32:27Speaker 1: It's starring Seff Rogan, and I'll just give you the
- 32:31Speaker 1: short synopsis. To me, it feels like a grown version
- 32:35Speaker 1: of Entourage, because Seth plays a Hollywood studio head. He
- 32:40Speaker 1: goes from like an exet to being the head of
- 32:42Speaker 1: the studio and he's trying to, you know, handle all
- 32:46Speaker 1: the ins and outs of Hollywood. And each episode is
- 32:48Speaker 1: like twenty thirty minutes with you know, guest stars, belore,
- 32:52Speaker 1: all kinds of Hollywood.
- 32:53Speaker 2: People are on every different episode.
- 32:56Speaker 1: School show, you know, entertaining, enjoyable and funny, you know,
- 32:59Speaker 1: from Sun on Apple. So if you're peping severing something else,
- 33:02Speaker 1: the people on there definitely.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Yeah, And I like Seth. I like Seth.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what kept me watching the set. He definitely
- 33:09Speaker 1: holds it throughout the show.
- 33:10Speaker 2: And it's funny.
- 33:11Speaker 1: People are talking about the Grammys and how we don't
- 33:13Speaker 1: see a lot of physical comedy, and I don't know
- 33:16Speaker 1: if it was intentional, but it felt like it was
- 33:18Speaker 1: that this man takes an l on like every episode,
- 33:20Speaker 1: but every episode.
- 33:23Speaker 4: He was very self seprecating.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I mean just I mean, like horrible falls. So yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 2: if you like that type of it was that it
- 33:31Speaker 2: was hilarious usual too, So yeah, yeah, producers probably tune
- 33:36Speaker 2: on Apple so it is a good palate cleans or
- 33:38Speaker 2: if you're watching Severn the Severing Boy, that ship, it's it's.
- 33:41Speaker 4: A lot going on it. No, but I'm still gonna
- 33:43Speaker 4: watch it regardless.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Speaking of Wolf, I have to say I've been rewatching
- 33:47Speaker 1: because any day trailer's doing to drop Man and April's
- 33:53Speaker 1: coming up soon and or I rewatched the first three episodes.
- 33:58Speaker 1: It's a twelve episode first season and it's broken down
- 34:01Speaker 1: in like three episode arcs. It's one of the reasons
- 34:03Speaker 1: why I think it's so insanely perfect of a first season.
- 34:07Speaker 1: And I watched those first three episodes and at the
- 34:10Speaker 1: end of it I was just like, Yo, what the
- 34:12Speaker 1: fuck man, this fucking show, Like tears were streaming down
- 34:15Speaker 1: my eyes again again again. You know, it's it is
- 34:22Speaker 1: that thing. It is really. I am so hyped for
- 34:26Speaker 1: season two, like and once again, season two is twelve episodes,
- 34:30Speaker 1: so I know they already got it structured out and
- 34:33Speaker 1: I'm not ready because like, those first three episodes aren't
- 34:37Speaker 1: even It gets so much better after that, I know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: because then the next three is like when it turns
- 34:41Speaker 1: into this heist, and then the next three is when
- 34:43Speaker 1: it turns into the prison state show, and then the
- 34:46Speaker 1: next three it turns into this revolution.
- 34:48Speaker 2: To finish it.
- 34:49Speaker 1: All, well, he finally becomes starts to become the rebel
- 34:51Speaker 1: we see. I can't wait to rewatch those last nine episodes.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, two episodes left on the finish and then
- 35:00Speaker 3: and the only the last show. Like I said, I
- 35:02Speaker 3: just I had remembered Dandidan that another anime on Netflix
- 35:07Speaker 3: that came out like earlier twenty twenty four, incredible, fucking
- 35:12Speaker 3: wild ass over the top show like O D and
- 35:16Speaker 3: it was so wild that I was just like, bruh,
- 35:18Speaker 3: where are they going with this?
- 35:20Speaker 4: Like when you watch.
- 35:21Speaker 3: It, it's a bit of rest like it. It takes
- 35:24Speaker 3: you off guard because it's just like, why is it
- 35:27Speaker 3: going this direction? It has like the initial like extra
- 35:31Speaker 3: tropes of some anime, and then you see that it's
- 35:34Speaker 3: actually a very interesting and very it's a story that
- 35:39Speaker 3: actually makes you really like the characters very quickly. You
- 35:42Speaker 3: actually fall in love with both of them very quickly,
- 35:43Speaker 3: even though they're like kind of diametrically opposed. It's still
- 35:47Speaker 3: very attractive to watch, and like, if you know, like
- 35:50Speaker 3: if you ever watch like Back in the Day fully
- 35:53Speaker 3: coolly focl if you ever watched Kill the Kill, like
- 35:57Speaker 3: any of that stuff where like that art type where
- 35:59Speaker 3: it looks like it's kind of like ragging and crazy sometimes,
- 36:02Speaker 3: but then also at certain points it's very beautiful, clean lines,
- 36:05Speaker 3: like that's the art style here, and it's I can't
- 36:09Speaker 3: even tell you what the fuck the show is about.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I can, but it's what I'm telling you is just
- 36:14Speaker 3: not nowhere near everything. It's about a teenagers in school
- 36:20Speaker 3: that there are one is the geek, one is the
- 36:22Speaker 3: cool girl, and the boy he believes in like aliens
- 36:27Speaker 3: and shit, she believes in ghosts, and a friendship ensues
- 36:32Speaker 3: and it gets wild from there, like absolutely wild first episode,
- 36:37Speaker 3: out of control.
- 36:38Speaker 4: But it's really fun.
- 36:39Speaker 1: If you're watching me right now, you know, I was
- 36:41Speaker 1: like disinterested until that last bit, and then it was like.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just because it doesn't like even just to
- 36:48Speaker 3: explain it.
- 36:48Speaker 4: It's just like all right.
- 36:49Speaker 3: But then when you watch it, you just go, holy fuck,
- 36:52Speaker 3: what's happening right now? And it's enough to make you go, well,
- 36:54Speaker 3: let me see what they're about to do next episode.
- 36:56Speaker 3: And then by that part you hooked my.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Brother shout out to my bro the Grime and his
- 37:02Speaker 1: younger brother, Ashman. Ashman was actually recommended me Dan to
- 37:05Speaker 1: Day and he recommended me, uh.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Something whatever days.
- 37:09Speaker 1: So Talkingmo to days, talking at the days, I already
- 37:12Speaker 1: peeped talking over the Days or shout out to Ashman
- 37:14Speaker 1: because you know that was a great winner.
- 37:15Speaker 2: So I'm gonna peep Dan to Day in as well.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Absolutely fantastic rounding out.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, stay woke king. Uh, I guess we
- 37:25Speaker 1: got to talk about this.
- 37:27Speaker 3: What the voice actor of Spider Man in your friend
- 37:30Speaker 3: your neighborhood and your neighbor your friendly neighborhood spider Man.
- 37:35Speaker 3: He they were he was interviewed by I forgot what
- 37:38Speaker 3: Outlet was interviewing him, like, you know, it was like, oh,
- 37:40Speaker 3: what do you think about like when you first read
- 37:42Speaker 3: the script and you learned about it, like what did
- 37:44Speaker 3: you feel about the series? And I'm paraphrasing, but he
- 37:47Speaker 3: was just like, Oh, I thought it was pretty cool.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I'm just glad it's not like it wasn't woke and
- 37:53Speaker 3: that's the thing.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Right, And I'm like, why open your mouth.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Normally woke, which is so always so it's like sad
- 38:03Speaker 1: and hilarious to me because you know, I'm an older
- 38:05Speaker 1: gentleman and I grew up when you know, stay woke
- 38:07Speaker 1: was the actual thing, you know, in the nineties, people
- 38:09Speaker 1: would say it as a way to you know, talk
- 38:10Speaker 1: about you know, being aware of what was going on
- 38:13Speaker 1: in society, things of that nature. And then it became,
- 38:16Speaker 1: you know, like a joke, even amongst black people, and
- 38:19Speaker 1: we stopped saying it like we do with most things.
- 38:22Speaker 1: And then somehow white people, you know, picked it up.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I guess I think it might've been Atlanta maybe, you know,
- 38:27Speaker 1: because you know, what's the name of saying Darius would
- 38:29Speaker 1: say that shit is a joke on there?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Well, I might even gonna put that on I ain't
- 38:33Speaker 3: gonna put that on Homie and says it's fault that
- 38:35Speaker 3: white people picked it up.
- 38:36Speaker 2: No, I don't know when. I'm just saying to why
- 38:39Speaker 2: it got picked up.
- 38:40Speaker 4: From a political spectrum where But it's so.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Weird because it's like we stopped saying.
- 38:43Speaker 1: It, and we did stop saying it for the longest,
- 38:45Speaker 1: for the longest, and then suddenly it was like everything
- 38:48Speaker 1: was woke again, and I'm like, no, we don't care
- 38:50Speaker 1: about it, but anyway, So like I was trying to
- 38:54Speaker 1: give Homie the benefit of it out, long story short,
- 38:56Speaker 1: because I was like, maybe he's saying the scripts aren't pandery,
- 39:00Speaker 1: which I also feel as a dog whistle as well
- 39:02Speaker 1: when people think say things are pandering.
- 39:04Speaker 2: So it's tough either way. But I was just trying
- 39:07Speaker 2: to give him the benefit of the doubt. I see.
- 39:08Speaker 2: The Marvel in general has been like zibity dude, our
- 39:11Speaker 2: zibity day on this shit. You know, we ain't got
- 39:13Speaker 2: a word to say.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Oh listen, So the actual quote things, and again apologies
- 39:19Speaker 3: for my pronunciations or mispronunciations, but really he said the
- 39:24Speaker 3: end of his quote was his biggest fear was that
- 39:26Speaker 3: it Spider Man, your friendly Lived with Spider Man was
- 39:30Speaker 3: going to be annoying and woke, and interestingly, the showrunner,
- 39:33Speaker 3: Jeff Trammel, he actually said he didn't focus too much
- 39:36Speaker 3: on what he said. He said he thinks he's misspoke.
- 39:39Speaker 3: He knows that that has been weighing on him because literally,
- 39:41Speaker 3: as soon as that shit came out, the internet went oh,
- 39:44Speaker 3: and not in a good way, not in the party
- 39:46Speaker 3: type way. Everyone said, what the fuck do you mean?
- 39:48Speaker 3: Because at the end of the day, regardless of what
- 39:51Speaker 3: was meant, what the miss then this is me talking
- 39:53Speaker 3: regards of what was misspoken. Words mean things, and even
- 39:58Speaker 3: the words that have been cooped and when it's said
- 40:01Speaker 3: by certain people or said enough times to mean something
- 40:04Speaker 3: totally different than in original intent and it's repeated by
- 40:07Speaker 3: someone who could potentially be part of that group, i e.
- 40:10Speaker 4: A white man, people are going to feel a way. Okay, So.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I think regardless of whether he misspoke or he does
- 40:16Speaker 3: feel bad and that's not exactly what he means, the
- 40:18Speaker 3: fact of the matters. You still said bulk, which means
- 40:20Speaker 3: that is in your lexicon, and I think that that's
- 40:23Speaker 3: part of and that's in your head.
- 40:25Speaker 4: Like there's certain words I do and do not say
- 40:27Speaker 4: because that's part of my lexicon. Are not part of
- 40:28Speaker 4: my lexicon?
- 40:29Speaker 1: Right?
- 40:29Speaker 4: And I know what it means because that's the word
- 40:31Speaker 4: I use all the time.
- 40:33Speaker 3: So that's why I'm just like, I see, potentially he
- 40:37Speaker 3: didn't exactly mean it that way, but you still use
- 40:39Speaker 3: that word, and if you meant that word in that
- 40:40Speaker 3: and you meant that word in that context, So it's
- 40:42Speaker 3: just like, why would people not be mad about it?
- 40:45Speaker 4: To your point, no one's really saying much about it.
- 40:47Speaker 4: This is blown over. Yeah, the show is really good.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Really good, really good.
- 40:53Speaker 1: We had our review of the first two episodes. There
- 40:56Speaker 1: are now three, four and five just dropped tomorrow, Rold.
- 41:00Speaker 1: By the time you hear this, what six and seven
- 41:03Speaker 1: will be out? I will say that, Uh, how are
- 41:08Speaker 1: you feeling about Harry Osborne?
- 41:11Speaker 2: Harry?
- 41:13Speaker 4: I don't have a problem with him.
- 41:15Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with him. I think.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I can't wait discuss things because it's like, I mean,
- 41:21Speaker 1: I'm clear, I can ask you a question, what do
- 41:23Speaker 1: you think Harry's sexuality is meant to be portrayed.
- 41:26Speaker 4: As potentially bisexual? I mean he's giving off by you know,
- 41:32Speaker 4: by color color Room, vibes for me.
- 41:34Speaker 2: So yeah, okay, definitely all right, because later on in
- 41:37Speaker 2: the series.
- 41:39Speaker 3: That that seems to be it's not you're saying that
- 41:42Speaker 3: they're hiding, they're shying away from being overtly saying he's
- 41:45Speaker 3: by no.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Later on in the series, is overt.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Okay, it's not overt, but there is a there is
- 41:51Speaker 1: a line reference that Harry mats to a famous line
- 41:55Speaker 1: in Spider Man comics that is normally spoken by Mary
- 41:59Speaker 1: Jane to heater. Okay, And so it was like, when
- 42:02Speaker 1: that line happens, and I think that will happen actually
- 42:04Speaker 1: this week. Yeah, it's pretty soon, is I was like,
- 42:09Speaker 1: when I was watching an episode, I was like, oh, okay, wow,
- 42:12Speaker 1: you know, like you know they're they're going there, and
- 42:16Speaker 1: I was me personally, I didn't give it, you know whatever.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I'm like, But for people, I think it's gould be interesting.
- 42:21Speaker 4: You think it's gonna be a problem. Okay, I don't know.
- 42:24Speaker 1: About a problem because I don't know. The show seems
- 42:26Speaker 1: to be like people are liking it but not like loving.
- 42:28Speaker 3: It, So I don't know, you know, I don't know
- 42:32Speaker 3: if enough people are on it, like I know, there's
- 42:35Speaker 3: still been like a little bit of people like not
- 42:37Speaker 3: liking the animation side, but I just think, like it's
- 42:40Speaker 3: just it's just different.
- 42:41Speaker 4: It's still well done.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Love it.
- 42:44Speaker 4: I will say that.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Well, like I said, I don't have no problems with Harry,
- 42:47Speaker 3: and if that is the direction they are going with
- 42:49Speaker 3: through him, then okay, cool.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Yeah it was dope cool.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Like I said, this is for episode before five, I
- 42:55Speaker 4: messed with doc Oc. The doc Oc. It's not much
- 42:58Speaker 4: too much to say about him.
- 42:59Speaker 3: I did wanted to mention when it comes to Norman,
- 43:01Speaker 3: just like more about him, Like they still are keeping
- 43:04Speaker 3: the like how you said when I what I said before,
- 43:06Speaker 3: when I was like, oh, you know he's this is
- 43:08Speaker 3: a different version of him. You like, he's not that different.
- 43:10Speaker 3: And no, he's not that different. He's still very overbearing.
- 43:12Speaker 3: He's still very possessive. He's so very much. He's very
- 43:17Speaker 3: much got another voice inside his head telling him shit.
- 43:21Speaker 4: But this one just has a sheen of being nice.
- 43:23Speaker 4: And Nigga is lying through his teeth. Everything. Well, it's
- 43:26Speaker 4: up to you whatever you wanted.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Like the way he was talking to me the whole time,
- 43:31Speaker 3: I was like this Nigga's lying, Like it's just like
- 43:35Speaker 3: niggas don't change, Okay.
- 43:37Speaker 4: Osbourne is Osborne through and through.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I like this gentleman to show how they've been flipping things,
- 43:42Speaker 3: like you said, like potentially they're they're changing sexuality to
- 43:46Speaker 3: certain characters or adding on sexuality to certain arcters.
- 43:48Speaker 4: Some characters are.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Women, some are men, Like it's a it's a multiverse
- 43:53Speaker 3: of what Spider Man could be so or or the
- 43:55Speaker 3: Spider Man Michael Cosm if you will.
- 43:58Speaker 4: So I like how they're going about.
- 43:59Speaker 2: It all right.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Now, I know we have a criticism from our social
- 44:03Speaker 1: media manager, but also I also have now yeah, and
- 44:05Speaker 1: I also have another one or a question. Is it
- 44:08Speaker 1: that I saw, you know, banging around the internet. It's
- 44:11Speaker 1: just just a white washed version of Miles Morales's story. Yeah,
- 44:18Speaker 1: because most of these so now most of them, some
- 44:20Speaker 1: of these characters do come from you know, the Miles
- 44:23Speaker 1: type universe. And it's just like Miles usually has the
- 44:26Speaker 1: multicultural crew, while Peter always has you know a bunch
- 44:30Speaker 1: of white people around them.
- 44:31Speaker 3: You know. It's the thing I maybe I would feel
- 44:34Speaker 3: more of a wave that will, Like if Spider Verse
- 44:36Speaker 3: didn't exist, yea, if those fucking top tier, fucking films
- 44:41Speaker 3: that you know, never was made.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Then maybe I would feel more like, damn, you know,
- 44:45Speaker 4: I should really get home Bay a chance.
- 44:47Speaker 3: But Miles is well in the gloves and established above
- 44:51Speaker 3: this version of Spider Man, so I don't feel as bad.
- 44:54Speaker 2: No, And it's like Peter needs some sauce. He don't.
- 44:57Speaker 3: If anything, I just see this as a uh, what's
- 45:01Speaker 3: the dey husband name? Now about to be husband named.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I feel like this is, like, you know, a cartoonized
- 45:08Speaker 3: version of Tom Holland and dya like and yes, like
- 45:12Speaker 3: you know it's sprinkled with some of Miles Morales's world.
- 45:15Speaker 3: It is what it is, the actual as you mentioned,
- 45:18Speaker 3: the actual potential hangers I have. I was like, I
- 45:21Speaker 3: actually and this is and and I'll do what our
- 45:22Speaker 3: social media manager Joel mentioned first that he gave us
- 45:26Speaker 3: some and I didn't know nothing about these characters. I
- 45:28Speaker 3: did read that he gave us some more background on
- 45:30Speaker 3: Pearl Pagan and Nico Menoru who and you know Nico
- 45:35Speaker 3: is is Peter's best friend in here and Dan Pearl
- 45:38Speaker 3: is his love interests. Now, what Joel was mentioning was
- 45:42Speaker 3: that it was very annoying and and and also bit
- 45:45Speaker 3: off putting that right now, peerl. Both Pearl and Nicos
- 45:48Speaker 3: seemed to be kind of sighed and PC's almost at
- 45:52Speaker 3: this point. And when I read more into who these
- 45:55Speaker 3: characters are and what they do and their skill set,
- 45:57Speaker 3: e stept I said, they are yikes.
- 46:00Speaker 4: I agree with him.
- 46:01Speaker 3: They are both major AAPI characters have their own comments
- 46:05Speaker 3: there are like like I don't I don't recall.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I think it's Pearl for like the major Filipino superhero.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that right now has eventually just essentially been relegated
- 46:16Speaker 3: just be a love interest. And I hope and again
- 46:19Speaker 3: I don't know if this requires another season, but I
- 46:20Speaker 3: hope they do.
- 46:21Speaker 4: More with her.
- 46:23Speaker 2: They've already been green live for season three.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Right so I hope they're gonna do. They're actually gonna
- 46:27Speaker 3: know the real backstory of who he is. It would
- 46:32Speaker 3: be nice to see. And then with even with Nico,
- 46:34Speaker 3: like you mentioned Nico a bit before about the runaways
- 46:36Speaker 3: and all that and how her parents or these fucking
- 46:39Speaker 3: warlocks and she's wild powerful, And again I read up
- 46:42Speaker 3: on her too, and I was like, yeah, right now
- 46:44Speaker 3: they're just kind of sitting on the side, not doing
- 46:46Speaker 3: much all right now.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I've seen all ten episodes and without you know, spoiling
- 46:52Speaker 1: Nico definitely is who Nico is, you know, and more
- 46:56Speaker 1: is revealed on that It's still not to what I
- 46:59Speaker 1: want see, But this is first season, you know, and
- 47:02Speaker 1: this is like I said, they're green there for three already,
- 47:04Speaker 1: so we're looking at least five seasons of this, so
- 47:08Speaker 1: you know this is gonna take a second. But Nico
- 47:11Speaker 1: is who Nico is, and you see major hints of it,
- 47:14Speaker 1: and by the end of the season it's like, you know,
- 47:16Speaker 1: you know, that's who she is now. Pearl, We're gonna
- 47:19Speaker 1: take some time getting there, just like we're taking time
- 47:22Speaker 1: getting to who Lannie actually is, even though he's been
- 47:25Speaker 1: named as who he is now at this point.
- 47:27Speaker 3: And I have some stuff to say about Lonnie, but
- 47:29Speaker 3: like just just particularly on Pearl and Nico. The other
- 47:32Speaker 3: problem with that approach is that we don't and yes,
- 47:36Speaker 3: this season, this this show has been green left for
- 47:38Speaker 3: season three, But I'm.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Like, why is it always that we have to give
- 47:42Speaker 4: it time?
- 47:43Speaker 3: Like we can't come out the gate with these characters,
- 47:45Speaker 3: Like when I say we them, why are they not
- 47:48Speaker 3: allowing these characters out the gate to come out in
- 47:51Speaker 3: full force of who they are?
- 47:52Speaker 4: Why and I'm not saying character building.
- 47:54Speaker 3: I'm saying it's always as a supporting character to an
- 47:58Speaker 3: already established character, right, Like, yes, I understand, Like if
- 48:01Speaker 3: there was a show where you're building up a character
- 48:02Speaker 3: who Pearl is cool, but it's centered on her, She's
- 48:05Speaker 3: not even a center and she is a fucking major,
- 48:09Speaker 3: major superhero so and maybe not in terms of popularity,
- 48:12Speaker 3: but major in terms of that culture and everything else. Right,
- 48:19Speaker 3: And so that's why it makes me think I understand it,
- 48:21Speaker 3: like being irritated at that because it's just like, damn,
- 48:25Speaker 3: I gotta wait all this time to hope to see something,
- 48:28Speaker 3: and then it's even going to even meet the level
- 48:30Speaker 3: of how she's even written in the comics.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Well, to me, it's like like with Niko Minoro, who's
- 48:34Speaker 2: one of my favorite characters.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Like I've said before, the Runaways is one of my
- 48:37Speaker 1: favorite series, the original twelve issues. I recommend it to
- 48:41Speaker 1: anyone who loves comics, especially if you want to read
- 48:44Speaker 1: a comic book that you don't have to know anything
- 48:46Speaker 1: about the rest of the Marvel universe for you know,
- 48:48Speaker 1: per Se and Nico's one of my favorite characters from
- 48:51Speaker 1: that run But that being said, I do enjoy her
- 48:54Speaker 1: in this. I think she has a lot of great
- 48:56Speaker 1: character moments throughout this ten episode.
- 49:00Speaker 2: You know, you're not.
- 49:00Speaker 1: It's not about the magic as much, you know, but
- 49:03Speaker 1: it is about her character being developed.
- 49:05Speaker 2: And I really love her character throughout the ten.
- 49:08Speaker 1: And this is still Peter's show, and Nico as much
- 49:11Speaker 1: as I love Nico, ain't no way Nico Monorro getting
- 49:13Speaker 1: her own show.
- 49:14Speaker 2: And the Runaways already had they try on Hulu and
- 49:17Speaker 2: it went nowhere, so that don't count.
- 49:19Speaker 4: I don't count none of that.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Sh yeah, but but them being counters do you know?
- 49:24Speaker 2: They definitely do.
- 49:25Speaker 1: And so the truth of the matter is the Runaways
- 49:28Speaker 1: had like, you know, twelve good issues and then you know,
- 49:31Speaker 1: a bunch of whatever after that, you know. So yeah,
- 49:34Speaker 1: so it ain't like I can be like, oh my god,
- 49:37Speaker 1: they've got years of stories to tell, y'll know, you know,
- 49:40Speaker 1: like they had. It was a it was other things
- 49:42Speaker 1: that probably should have been done with them twelve issues
- 49:44Speaker 1: and then they could appear in other people's comics. But
- 49:46Speaker 1: they had a dope story that worked, you know, and
- 49:49Speaker 1: that was it. Maybe twenty four I cameraber how long
- 49:50Speaker 1: it was, but you know, that was it. I mean,
- 49:52Speaker 1: I can't be that mad at her, you know, or Pearl.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I get it, but I also understand that it's just like, uh,
- 50:01Speaker 1: I don't know or even and I.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Guess even like understanding like you that can't be the
- 50:05Speaker 3: main but like even more quickly hinting that there's more
- 50:09Speaker 3: to this character than Jess Oh are.
- 50:11Speaker 1: You so, Peter very quickly, I think like by now,
- 50:15Speaker 1: like but episodess that out tomorrow definitely, you know, Nico
- 50:18Speaker 1: will get that.
- 50:19Speaker 2: And then Pearl. It's just one of the things.
- 50:22Speaker 1: There's like Pearl's you know, fifth string, Pearl's still not
- 50:25Speaker 1: even his main love interests. You know, he pining after her,
- 50:28Speaker 1: but she has no interest in him, you know, at
- 50:30Speaker 1: all this season, you know.
- 50:32Speaker 3: So it's like yeah, and again, because of the miracles
- 50:35Speaker 3: that Marvel has done when it comes to fifth, sixth,
- 50:38Speaker 3: and twenty first string character, it doesn't fucking matter because
- 50:40Speaker 3: they can make this shit happen.
- 50:41Speaker 4: We've seen it over and over again happen.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Well, not everything is.
- 50:45Speaker 1: X Men ninety seven and X Man ninety seven also
- 50:48Speaker 1: came with the burden and the benefit of having these
- 50:53Speaker 1: characters be super well known and super established already Pearl
- 50:57Speaker 1: is a not any of them, you know, like Pearl
- 51:01Speaker 1: is not one of the lowest X Men characters. Let's
- 51:04Speaker 1: be real, you know, like she's not on that level.
- 51:07Speaker 2: You know. Some spot is much more known in terms
- 51:10Speaker 2: of comics and has had years of stories.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Yeah Pearl, Yeah, no, no, I understand, I understand some.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Low totem pole.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 2: You know, like yeah, you start talking about Gambit.
- 51:21Speaker 1: You know this niggas got series, you know, like his
- 51:24Speaker 1: name on it, you know, got series together with their
- 51:29Speaker 1: name on the road, got series. You know, Pearl as
- 51:31Speaker 1: far as I know, if it was short, you know, sure,
- 51:34Speaker 1: see like Runaways.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Again, it's about like I get both historical and cultural
- 51:40Speaker 3: comments and one and wanting that to just have.
- 51:43Speaker 2: It to be seen and they will and they will.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Don't worry, like I say, you know you got on this,
- 51:48Speaker 2: you got to.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Like My main issue with this show is that it's
- 51:51Speaker 1: ten episodes, Like it's too short, you know for this
- 51:55Speaker 1: type of storytelling. I feel like this feels like still
- 51:58Speaker 1: like a Saturday afternoon thing where they would have twenty
- 52:00Speaker 1: episodes back in the day.
- 52:01Speaker 2: And I've given him twins like come on man, and.
- 52:05Speaker 4: Then just to close it off, this whole thing about
- 52:08Speaker 4: Lonnie Lonnie Lincoln.
- 52:10Speaker 3: I've read up on him, and that that man's backstory
- 52:13Speaker 3: is the most tragic ship I've ever read.
- 52:17Speaker 1: I don't know what Tombstone's original bad story is. I'd
- 52:20Speaker 1: never he is a hes.
- 52:23Speaker 3: What from when I read, I said, you dead ass?
- 52:26Speaker 3: He was always a black kid, but he had not vidago.
- 52:31Speaker 3: He was a See was he always black according to
- 52:36Speaker 3: this I don't know in the sixty but even the
- 52:39Speaker 3: oldest one, like I saw a very old drawing of him,
- 52:42Speaker 3: and he was he was black.
- 52:43Speaker 4: He was made to Okay, And like I said, not
- 52:46Speaker 4: vida lego.
- 52:46Speaker 3: But what am I trying to stay in terms of
- 52:48Speaker 3: when uh, when you're born where you don't have the pigmentation?
- 52:52Speaker 3: But alboino, Yes, he's a He's a hulking albino man
- 52:58Speaker 3: with file teeth.
- 53:00Speaker 4: He's a notorious crime Boston, New York City. Okay.
- 53:03Speaker 3: And I said, as far as most of the time
- 53:05Speaker 3: as I see it, I think yeah, because it says
- 53:07Speaker 3: this place of origin is hall and he's a nigga.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna find the clip because in the original the
- 53:14Speaker 1: Spider Man cartoon that I know you grew up on
- 53:17Speaker 1: he fights Tombstone. I actually found a flip the other day,
- 53:19Speaker 1: but I'm you know, I'm gonna have it posted on
- 53:21Speaker 1: Instagram because this is like way back inday. I was
- 53:24Speaker 1: watching the show, you know, like everybody else happened to be.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I was probably high, you know, come older, and I'm
- 53:28Speaker 1: sitting there watching the ship and I'm like, and there
- 53:31Speaker 1: toombs on the Spider Man is fighting, and Toombsto rolls
- 53:34Speaker 1: over on Spider Man and Spider Man says, he's heavy,
- 53:38Speaker 1: he's not my brother. You know the famous reference of
- 53:42Speaker 1: you know, he's not heavy, he's my brother. Okay, yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 1: it's a famous reference of you know, a black man
- 53:46Speaker 1: holding another black So Spider Man said, he's heavy, he's
- 53:50Speaker 1: not my brother, and those tunes throwing off him, and
- 53:53Speaker 1: I'm sitting there like, you know, it's like one of
- 53:55Speaker 1: the things that where you look, you know, you look
- 53:56Speaker 1: for the camera in the room, you know, this crack
- 54:03Speaker 1: and just say that shit.
- 54:06Speaker 2: But no, that's what it was. It was a very
- 54:08Speaker 2: ill reference for and that's something that Spider Man would say.
- 54:10Speaker 2: You know, if he threw a black dude off from me,
- 54:12Speaker 2: you'd be like, yo, you know, he's heavy, he's not
- 54:14Speaker 2: my brother.
- 54:15Speaker 3: This man has the most tragic story, Like every iteration
- 54:18Speaker 3: of it is just like, oh, you could have had
- 54:21Speaker 3: a good life, but then you became evil, like every iteration.
- 54:25Speaker 4: I kept like I was sad at Ben.
- 54:26Speaker 3: It took me ten minutes to read through the whole backstory,
- 54:28Speaker 3: and I was just like, and he had the chance,
- 54:31Speaker 3: no and no gets killed, betrayed, killed, betrayed like every
- 54:36Speaker 3: other word. And I was just like, so, I remember
- 54:38Speaker 3: last week I was saying I was mad. I was like, damn,
- 54:40Speaker 3: why they sow on the nose with Lonnie, Like why
- 54:43Speaker 3: he got to be the kid from the wrong side
- 54:44Speaker 3: of the tracks And whoa, there's there's blogs working and
- 54:47Speaker 3: glass shattering, like guys, get I get it, but they're
- 54:51Speaker 3: literally are just mirroring the bullshit backstory a fucking tombsto
- 54:56Speaker 3: and that whole typical inner city ain't got any city
- 54:59Speaker 3: kid ain't got you know, opportunity type stuff. And I
- 55:03Speaker 3: was so upset with what happened with him where I
- 55:04Speaker 3: was just like, Dan, you know, all your future and
- 55:06Speaker 3: your dreams taking away from you.
- 55:08Speaker 1: But I'm like, that's tombstone and that's also you know,
- 55:12Speaker 1: how it could go in real life, you know, and
- 55:14Speaker 1: then you know, coupled with the Spider Man world. You know,
- 55:16Speaker 1: my man's turning great, but his carros is so fresh
- 55:19Speaker 1: when I got happened. I mean that's a long but
- 55:21Speaker 1: I wonder where they keep the carrolls. When he turns
- 55:23Speaker 1: all great, that will be hilarious.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Is he gonna turn like that?
- 55:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, ain't no way. This man is not
- 55:29Speaker 1: turning great, just like ain't no way. At some point
- 55:32Speaker 1: Norman ain't putting on that suit or turning into a
- 55:34Speaker 1: giant rage monster. One or the other is going to happen.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Tombstone will turn great, and the like I said, this
- 55:42Speaker 1: man is zealous to me. Like I was not the
- 55:44Speaker 1: biggest Spider Man fan growing up, but whenever Tombstone showed
- 55:47Speaker 1: up in the comic, I was like, oh, you know, like,
- 55:50Speaker 1: come on, fam like you could be finding Scorpion doc oc.
- 55:53Speaker 3: He's from Harlem and starts out as a troubled youth
- 55:55Speaker 3: who was bullied by his peers because he was the
- 55:57Speaker 3: neighborhood's only African American. Now BUYO, Like, well, I mean
- 56:01Speaker 3: it is Harlem, yeah, but I'm just saying like that's
- 56:04Speaker 3: that's the first sentence in his biography, and it just
- 56:07Speaker 3: gets worse from there.
- 56:08Speaker 2: You know, Cameron ain't having that ship.
- 56:10Speaker 3: It just it just gets worse from there. So anyway,
- 56:13Speaker 3: I just be feeling bad about how Lonnie's going down.
- 56:16Speaker 3: He's a star, he's a star, just to you know.
- 56:18Speaker 2: He got shot too, And I'm just like, gosh, teeth
- 56:22Speaker 2: on this show.
- 56:22Speaker 3: That's what I But again, they don't have to copy
- 56:25Speaker 3: exactly how it goes in the comics, but Jesus Christ
- 56:29Speaker 3: hopefully not.
- 56:30Speaker 4: And street fighting and.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Okay, oh yeah, there was there was like I won't
- 56:39Speaker 1: say yet, I'll say that for the All Star I
- 56:42Speaker 1: was like, that's got.
- 56:42Speaker 4: To be a different way that you could have saved
- 56:43Speaker 4: your brother.
- 56:44Speaker 1: But okay, yeah, I'll save it for the All Star
- 56:46Speaker 1: review because there's definitely some ish by the end of
- 56:49Speaker 1: the season where I was like, Okay, this.
- 56:50Speaker 3: Is a cartoon, this got there had to be a
- 56:52Speaker 3: different way so you didn't have to give up your
- 56:54Speaker 3: life to the streets to save your brother, Like, come on, bro, I.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Keep thinking that, Kim saying the don I feel like
- 57:03Speaker 1: they really I feel like they really need Killer Mike
- 57:06Speaker 1: needs a check.
- 57:09Speaker 2: It's not killer Mike. It's dear to you, it's not so.
- 57:14Speaker 3: And he's supposed to look like because he kind of
- 57:16Speaker 3: resembles Prowler from just like a big wide version of him,
- 57:22Speaker 3: but he resembles Proud the way that his face from
- 57:27Speaker 3: Spider Verse.
- 57:28Speaker 1: But I get killed Mike vibes, I guess killed. Mike
- 57:31Speaker 1: ain't bald, So yeah, okay, I just feel like needs
- 57:35Speaker 1: a check.
- 57:37Speaker 4: Who is his voice? Who who is his voice? I'm
- 57:39Speaker 4: not even sure you remember.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I don't remember him home boy's name. Just I'm just
- 57:44Speaker 3: trying to see there's show do something. It would be
- 57:48Speaker 3: nice to see him do something.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Ship, all right, I mean, like you gotta understand this
- 57:54Speaker 1: is not his show, Excited, but it's a whole different show.
- 58:00Speaker 1: And that's and one other thing like about Amaday's show
- 58:02Speaker 1: is like I knew Amede's show for a long time
- 58:05Speaker 1: as a character who wasn't a Halt. He was just
- 58:07Speaker 1: a very smart kid and that's not my That was
- 58:10Speaker 1: my version of ameda show. When he started to turn
- 58:12Speaker 1: into the intelligence, it was cool, but it was like
- 58:14Speaker 1: I always liked the dude who is just so smart
- 58:16Speaker 1: that he could figure out things around superheroes. That shit
- 58:18Speaker 1: was crazy. He like sees the numbers like shit, you know,
- 58:22Speaker 1: like he can, you know, predict which way the floor
- 58:24Speaker 1: is down the crap so he can jump over that way,
- 58:26Speaker 1: you know, and avoid danger and that type of stuff.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Like that's how smart he is.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:29Speaker 1: So I was like that that was the dope ast show.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I like the super arrogant version of I don't think
- 58:35Speaker 1: he don't see no numbers. This man, he gonna get served.
- 58:37Speaker 1: He stepped up.
- 58:38Speaker 4: I think it's setting enough to be served, that's all.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I think this man ways too arrogant.
- 58:42Speaker 4: Yeah, so but we'll see, we'll see what happens.
- 58:44Speaker 3: And like I said, this is the two three three
- 58:46Speaker 3: two format, so two episodes, three episodes, So the next
- 58:49Speaker 3: episode is gonna be three more episodes, gonna throw at
- 58:51Speaker 3: us yep, and then two more for the finale and
- 58:55Speaker 3: that's it.
- 58:55Speaker 2: And then we got Daredevil, Dared, Devil Captain America.
- 58:59Speaker 3: And yes, and they did, they did, in fact do
- 59:01Speaker 3: this format so it wouldn't run into the Daredevil release.
- 59:04Speaker 4: As you say, it's right after.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Dared Devil Captain America and then rolling right in and
- 59:09Speaker 1: I think Dared was still gonna be running when Fantastic
- 59:11Speaker 1: four comes out, and depending on how they release it.
- 59:15Speaker 4: The two hundred and three episodes.
- 59:16Speaker 2: No, but I think I heard recently it's not that
- 59:19Speaker 2: they shortened it. Yeah, they shortened to like nine, I.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Think, and each it's like season two has already started shooting,
- 59:24Speaker 1: which to be nine as well.
- 59:26Speaker 2: I think something like that. Well, yeah, probably for the
- 59:29Speaker 2: best look.
- 59:33Speaker 1: And they only need a twelve fan twelve to me,
- 59:35Speaker 1: like you know, Severnce was ten. That was a sweet spot,
- 59:39Speaker 1: you know for that first season. You know, twelve for
- 59:43Speaker 1: and Or was perfection. I don't know, I'd have to
- 59:47Speaker 1: go back to the wire, you know, the wires. I
- 59:49Speaker 1: think they had like thirteen fourteen. Maybe you don't need
- 59:52Speaker 1: that many.
- 59:53Speaker 4: I'll see in March fourth, March fourth, yep, okay, And
- 59:57Speaker 4: it's a nine episode first season.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: And on that note, what are you doing? You know,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I'll just do this live. What are you doing? February
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: twenty eighth, day after your birthday? Day after my birthday?
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Fry great question. I would have to look at my
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: caountter what's happening that day?
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Well, I was think about because I don't know what
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: else we can do it because this month is so short,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I wanted to do something at anyone Comics m we
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: were supposed to Dmitrea, the owner, was proposing a video
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: game tournament or some time because we have a bunch
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: of retro video game systems over there. Nice I might
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: do a live DJ set from there at some point
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: this month. But I was hoping, you know, we could
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: do something, you know, for All Nerds live.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Event, for oners live event. I know everybody will call.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Everyone's going to show up, right, everybody listening, watch you
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: will show up.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, you know New York could it'll
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: be the last day of you know, black because you
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: know he wanted to do something for Black History Month
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: obviously you know blacky mouth is short. Or you could
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: do it March first, that Saturday, you know, kick it off,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: you know, be late like black people, you know, extend
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: on shit to say it's February twenty ninth. Oh God, be.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Good bye.
