- 0:00Sean McAllister: It is episode 331 of Vegas Revealed, and we have an opening date now for Stoney's Country Bar at Sunset Station.
- 0:08Sean McAllister: Those details coming your way.
- 0:10Dayna Roselli: Grim Valley Resort closed at the Nevada, California state line, but hey, it reopened again with the help of Terrible.
- 0:17Dayna Roselli: So we'll explain what that company is.
- 0:20Dayna Roselli: We were there as the doors open.
- 0:22Dayna Roselli: And get this, there's no resort fee.
- 0:24Sean McAllister: Sounds good to me.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: Universal Horror Unleashed is a year-round attraction here in Las Vegas, but we stopped over for their Resident Evil Summer Takeover, and it was spooky.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: The iconic Rick Springfield is coming back to Las Vegas next month for a one-night only show.
- 0:42Sean McAllister: Plus, stunt man Kobe Raha jumped to the Caesars Palace Fountains.
- 0:46Sean McAllister: We told you about that.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's an interesting answer.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: Let's get right to it on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 331.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dana Roselli with you.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: And it's not every day that you celebrate the opening of a casino or the reopening of a casino, but we had the chance to do that.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, they happen often here in Las Vegas, but this one that we're particularly talking about is down in Prim, and that's right near the Nevada, California state line.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: It's right off the highway.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, people were really upset that this hotel casino closed because it's a popular stop as you cross the border into Nevada and head to Las Vegas or go home to California.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: Well, it's like the it's like a welcome stop into Nevada.
- 1:42Sean McAllister: And after you've been driving through the mountains all that time, it's kind of a welcome stopping off point to grab a bite to eat, to gas up, to play some slot machines, maybe uh stay the night.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: Uh so it really was a loss when uh back uh right around 4th of July weekend, the uh Prim Valley Resort had to close.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because if you've never taken that drive, there's not a lot in between.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: No, there's nothing so that's like I think that it makes it even more significant, right?
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so they closed, uh Whiskey Pete's closed a while ago.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: There's not a lot open nothing open there anymore.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: But now Prim is back open.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: It opened the doors on July 22nd, thanks to Terribles.
- 2:19Dayna Roselli: And Terribles, if you're not familiar with that, uh you'll if you're in Las Vegas and in Nevada, you'll see all the Terribles gas stations, very popular, great company here in town.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: And they were able to turn it around in 17 days.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: They they took over management on July 5th, they got it cleaned up, and then all of a sudden we got this release the day before saying, Hey, we're opening at noon if you want to be there.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: So we hopped in the Vegas Revealed van mobile, the Vegas Revealed Mobile, and drove what was it?
- 2:49Sean McAllister: It was like uh about 35, 40 minutes 40-minute drive south down to State Line.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, we were not the only ones who showed up for the grand reopening.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: There were a lot of players who were excited about it too.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because you know that's a pop there are people that live down in that area, they like to play slots.
- 3:08Dayna Roselli: There are truckers that like to stop there, fill up, get some food.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: Um so there's a lot of different people that crossed through there.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: And yeah, they did show up.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: Now, when we were there, um, we heard from right before the doors opened, uh, the folks from Terribles, and then also Corey Clemenson.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: He is the president of Prim South Real Estate Company and the grandson of Prim founder Ernie Prim.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: And it was a big day for him.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: He was so grateful that you know the doors were able to open.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: And I think he was grateful too to see everyone waiting to get in.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was an exciting time.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: People were chanting, big smiles, lots of claps, and uh you know, Corey said that this is just uh another major milestone for the Prim family and what they've done for development uh across the state of Nevada.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: And the no resort fees, so they're really pushing that.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: That's kind of cool if you're driving through like that.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: Back in the day, we never used to even have to say that.
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: True.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: But um, and also in there they had the Bonnie and Clyde car move there.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: It used to be at Whiskey Pete's, and uh you were like, hey, go get some video of it with a phone, and like it's going gone crazy on our social media.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: People are really into this, but it is, and people keep asking it, is it a replica?
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: No, it's the car that Bonnie and Clyde were in when their lives were ended by police.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, and people ask, they're another question that people are asking online about that.
- 4:33Sean McAllister: They're like, wait a second, uh isn't that over?
- 4:36Sean McAllister: Wasn't that over at Whiskey Pete's?
- 4:38Sean McAllister: Well, it used to be, and it moved over to uh the Prim Valley resort, and now they've got some other memorabilia from that infamous uh time in American history.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have uh Clyde's shirt, bloody shirt, ripped shirt on display as well.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: It's a whole display.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: They've got uh like a historic um like a video video ro rolling.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: We actually had someone comment and say, I think it was they said, Hey, that's my grandfather or uncle or something in that video.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: Um but anyway, yeah, so it it's taken off.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: It's like almost you know, over half a million views and lots of comments going in.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: People seem very interested in it.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: So if you want to check that out, it's at Prim Valley Resort now.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: Great to have that back open.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: The lottery store is back open down there at State Line on the California side, uh, obviously, because we don't have the lotto uh in the state of Nevada.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: So a lot of people are excited about that.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: I got my quick pick tickets for the Powerball and did not win.
- 5:33Sean McAllister: So the dream is still alive.
- 5:35Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 5:35Dayna Roselli: I got some scratch offs, you know, because we're from upstate New York where we grew up on scratch offs.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, you know, and so it was fun to do a little bit.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: The parents would bring the scratch offs home, the kids would sit around the table.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we did go through the Carl Jr.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: drive-thru though, and that was interesting.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: I kind of felt like the order was gonna come in wrong, and it did.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: But you know what?
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: They're out there doing their best.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: I listen, shout out to everyone there.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: But I was like, the the chicken sandwich is grilled, right?
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: And they're like, yes.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: Apparently it's crispy.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: No, so it's crispy, but oh well.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: Um, we got a couple sodas and you got your chicken nuggets.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: And I got more than three.
- 6:11Sean McAllister: I ordered three, and I think I got six.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: Oh, good.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: Um, but man, fast food's getting expensive these days, too.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Like, I don't order fast food a lot, so it's always a shock when I do because I'm like, wait.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Because it's like 20 bucks no matter what.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: We got a chicken sandwich and nuggets and two medium like sodas for$28.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: I was like, wow.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: Um, anyway, um, I'm glad that they are opening things down there.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: Now here's the deal: this is the first step in Terrible's long-term vision for Prim.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: So when we when the doors opened and the folks walked in, um, you know, they hit the slot machines right away.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: And we were able to chat with Corey Clemenson, the president of the Prim South Real Estate Company and grandson of the Prim founder, Ernie Prim, about some of the the vision, at least of for that area and also for the hotel casino.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: The Prim family is sticking around.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: We still own all of the properties and all of the land and the hotels, the Terribles and the Herbs Terribles team has come in and they'll be operating the casinos, hotels, gas stations, lotto store.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Um, and we did this.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: We put together an agreement very quickly, the fastest I've heard in in 60 days.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Pretty amazing feat by so many of their the terribles team and their and their executives, along with the Prim family and the legal teams behind us, were able to do that and work with gaming control to be here today.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, we'll be working on a longer-term uh relationship.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can see, right, they're not they're gonna make it real easy for us to sign a long-term deal when they do something like this in 17 days.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Uh, and so a lot of work's ahead, but we feel, we felt all along that the conversations we've had with the Herb's family and the interviews and the meetings we've had with the Terribles executive teams, they give us the best chance to bring Prim back and bring success back to this area once again.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: And I know you said you had plans for this whole area.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: I know you can't reveal a lot, you've already said that, but can you talk about that a little bit?
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: You know, I know you did it on the podium, but with us a little bit about plans for the future.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Are you talking about the casinos or beyond?
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: Casinos, beyond the land around here.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: My family's been bullish on the prim and prim for a long time.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Um, we see it from a business standpoint of that there's gonna be an airport here in about 10 years, and it's going to happen because Nevada is gonna want to keep Las Vegas is wanting its place as the top, top entertainment capital of the world, and we need a second airport, especially with professional sports and so many other things.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: And I think the politicians and political leaders on both sides of the aisle recognize that in my conversations with them.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: And uh, there's gonna be a second airport.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: When that happens, they're gonna see a lot of different things that are gonna come to Prim that's gonna, you know, maybe make Prim better than it's ever been.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: It's just gonna take a little bit of time.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Terribles group, you've seen what they've done in 17 days.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Tim and Troy are very innovative guys, they're first class guys.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: Our family is behind them 100%, and uh, you know, there's a great effort.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: We want to make sure Prim keeps its iconic place to Nevada lore, so to speak.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I know my grandfather's looking down today, and he'd have a big smile on where it's at.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, everything's been great, so and we can't thank everyone enough for their support.
- 9:19Dayna Roselli: I bet you heard from a lot of people when you were shut down, right?
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: I can only imagine you're relieved to not have to hear that anymore.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Like I've said, for a while, I mean until recently I've started to get sleep again.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I was like having the bags on their eyes.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: My wife was looking at me and she said, boy, you need to go get some help or something.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: You don't look very good.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: But uh it's it's yes, relief, joy, excitement, and really happy for the people here.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: You know, when you get in, you deal with lives on a day regular basis, and you see what we saw early in the process, even before Terribles was involved.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're dealing with families, you're dealing with kids, uh, you're dealing with folks that just wanna just want to live their lives, and the uncertainty for them was really troubling to our family to watch the stress on them, to not know whether they're gonna be homeless in a period of time, and to be able to have them here today and be able to work again with a belief, with a group that believes in them and terribles and the leadership of both Mark and Brian, Tim and Troy, Maddosa, the entire group.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: Um, the leadership, and I know I'm forgetting a lot of people, terribles, my apologies, but they are phenomenal.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: And them stepping in, they've made a difference here, and uh the Prim family's just thrilled.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: So, Sean, you looked up the airport and found out that they're actually planning to start construction around 2029.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh we've heard about this additional airport that Southern Nevada would be getting to uh help take the load off of Harry Reed Airport, which is right here in the in the you know, resort corridor, really, um, just to handle more traffic and the tourism demand, all that.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: Uh but I didn't realize that the timeline was actually creeping up pretty quickly on us.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: I feel like it's just been a long range uh project that we've heard about for years.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: But they're uh planning completion for that new airport in southern Nevada by 2037, which is, I mean, just 11 years away.
- 11:12Sean McAllister: That's in the grand scheme of things, not too long.
- 11:15Sean McAllister: And so Prim uh is gonna be a big part of that because it's gonna be you know right next door essentially to this new airport complex.
- 11:24Sean McAllister: So, you know, the folks down there are thinking long term about the development implications as it relates to this airport.
- 11:32Sean McAllister: Um, and so they're thinking that this sets them up pretty well.
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: It was great to you know, when you drive down there, you realize how much space there is out there.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: So it's nice to hear that they, you know, are ha have plans to build things up like that.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: Because, you know, there's space, there's land, like let's go.
- 11:52Sean McAllister: Not like crazy, but it's perfect spot for an airport, a couple resorts, restaurants, and the highway is already there, it's expanded, multi-lanes, nicely paved.
- 12:03Sean McAllister: So it's a straight shot into Las Vegas.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: A lot of people seem really excited about Prim Valley um opening again.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: So we're happy to hear that.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: So slot machines and a sports book.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: They didn't have any table games at the time last week when we went, they only had the like the 24-7 um grab and go food, but they're trying to get the diner back open.
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: They said eventually the steakhouse.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: And so there are plans for for more.
- 12:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's plans.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: A coffee shop, I think they're gonna be opening up uh relatively soon.
- 12:33Sean McAllister: So um it'll be interesting to see how all that unfolds.
- 12:37Sean McAllister: But like you said, there is excitement.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: People are already back in those doors and ready to play at Prim Valley Resort.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: Hey, by the way, um this is completely unrelated, but we are excited that our fan mail now we can start answering fan mail.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: Okay, so if you text us, we don't have your number, but you can reply and we can answer you.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: Uh, because we got a text the other day from someone who was listening saying they they I think they were out of California, right?
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: Saying that um they were they liked our our segment that we did on the Palms store talking about how they sell a lot of athletic gear.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: And it's a great place.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: Uh, so we gotta thank you so much for the kind words about the gift shop at Palms.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: The retail team was excited to be recognized.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: Um, and they say, I encourage you to visit our fashion store 1891 on your next visit to the property.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: So there you go.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: So then we were able to go in and uh respond to someone who had written us from San Antonio about uh their son turning 21 and things to do.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: We talked about it on the audio podcast, but I wanted to make sure to send them the link to the special that Las Vegas is having for a year.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: If you turn 21, you can get into all these nightclubs, you and four friends or day clubs.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: So I was able to respond with that.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: And that was fun because they wrote back, wow, thank you.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of fun.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: So if you we have the link in our show notes.
- 14:02Sean McAllister: Yeah, so now that is, it's exciting.
- 14:05Sean McAllister: You don't have to wait for the next episode to come out.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: We'll reply back to you, um, and we'll talk about it and elaborate on the podcast uh here as well.
- 14:17Sean McAllister: But that is, it's exciting because we could never reply before and we were like and we wanted to so badly.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: Sometimes someone would ask a question and we want you know would want to say something.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: So um again, uh just because I know people worry about privacy, it's just the last four digits of your phone number that we see and location.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: If you want to add your name, add it in.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, FYI.
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, we went over to Universal Horror Unleash.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: Now, this is a permanent horror attraction here in Las Vegas, it's at Area 15, but they're doing this summer takeover of Resident Evil, which is a very popular game.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: So uh they're doing this until August 30th.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: And we went over, and since I don't know much about the game, um, everyone who does know and plays Resident Evil and know the storyline will know when I say there's a focus on Raccoon City.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: Yes, the place where it all happens.
- 15:12Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, there are zombies, there are monsters.
- 15:16Sean McAllister: It is it's very well done, and it makes you feel like you are really surrounded by these creatures.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 15:26Sean McAllister: And the undead.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: So we were over there.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: We've we found the assistant director of entertainment, his name is Dell, and we said, Hey, is this the plan to kind of change things up every now and then, do these takeovers?
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: And uh he said yes.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: So you've got Resident Evil, and then will it change again to something else, like eventually or seasonal?
- 15:45SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 15:45SPEAKER_04: We want to start building annual uh marquee events, you know, focusing on, you know, a spring event like we had for Feaster Grievings, you know, um, focusing on a big blockbuster event during the summer, focusing obviously on Halloween and what Halloween is gonna be to us moving forward, and then of course an annual Christmas event.
- 16:04SPEAKER_04: So those would be like our marquee, and then we have things sprinkled out in between.
- 16:09SPEAKER_04: For example, we launched Food Film Frights, which was a uh a screening, but it was a themed screening with food and beverage.
- 16:15SPEAKER_04: So we will have those kind of activations sprinkled in between our marquee events.
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: So there will be always something going on, and uh, it requires a lot of future planning.
- 16:24SPEAKER_04: So we are definitely in that right now.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: And a lot of research shows people are looking for experiences more than anything now.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: So that is a great benefit for you guys.
- 16:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, we have that buzzword, right?
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Immersive.
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Um, and I think what Universal does extremely well is provide people that immersive experience, right?
- 16:40SPEAKER_04: It's a way to escape, it's a way to get away from our daily lives and be brought into a world that we don't typically go into.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: And I think horror goes so far beyond what people think horror is.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: There's comedy to it, there's drama to it.
- 16:54SPEAKER_04: So I think it's also exploring those themes too.
- 16:56SPEAKER_04: It's not just blood and gore.
- 16:58SPEAKER_04: You know, look at Resident Evil.
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: It's it's a story, there's characters that you grow up with, these characters evolve.
- 17:04SPEAKER_04: And so again, horror unleashed has to do the same thing.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: Even the food and beverage there changes, Sean.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: So they do like themed kinds of food.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, if you're into this stuff, it's amazing.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: It's so well, it's incredible.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: Oh, it's it is, it's amazingly well done.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: And with you know, Universal, you know, the Universal uh the movie production company behind it, they obviously have a stable of uh horror uh movie titles under their umbrella.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: So it makes perfect sense for them to have a permanent place out here.
- 17:35Sean McAllister: It's this massive soundstage warehouse where everything is housed.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: They do have several uh permanent uh uh attractions, walkthroughs uh that you go through that are that have various themes that stay the same.
- 17:50Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: But then they have these pop-up attractions in addition to those, which is uh like you said, it's a great idea to get people in for horror fans, which there are a lot of.
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Yes, a lot.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: It's a like a cult following.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: Like people love it, and they love it all year round.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: Oh, and there were people there dressed as Resident Evil characters.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: Uh there were people there, uh, you know, after the event that that we went to, the general uh public was coming in, and there were people dressed as as other um uh horror characters characters.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal, you're probably wondering, did Dana and Sean go through it?
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: We didn't, okay.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: We are babies, and I'll admit, like, and maybe Sean would have gone through it, but I was like, I can't, I just can't do the horror stuff.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: It literally scares me.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: When we walked in, when we mentioned the zombies and stuff, that's where we're talking about when you just walk into the entrance, but there were people like touching my shoulder.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: I don't it it does make me, but I get why people love it.
- 18:50Dayna Roselli: And if I was into it, I would be going through in a second.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, and it is so well done, it's great.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: Um, and we had to also get to another shoot.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: So I mean, maybe I would have dabbled in a little bit, but I don't know.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: It's just they have a great gift shop too, by the way.
- 19:05Sean McAllister: If you're into different things, oh the gift shop was amazing, amazing.
- 19:10Sean McAllister: Like legit, like jackets.
- 19:12Sean McAllister: They had I mean, it was really nice stuff in there.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:16Sean McAllister: For all the horror fans.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: Scary clowns.
- 19:18Sean McAllister: See, I can't do those because in I think fourth grade I went to a a Halloween party.
- 19:24Sean McAllister: Oh, you told us.
- 19:25Sean McAllister: One of my classmates.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: You tell us the story over and over.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: That's why I can tell it's traumatized.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: Oh, it is.
- 19:30Sean McAllister: And I can't well tell a note show.
- 19:34Sean McAllister: Go ahead, go ahead.
- 19:35Sean McAllister: They the family set up a haunted house through their barn and somebody got actually cut by a chainsaw.
- 19:43Sean McAllister: Wow, that's scary.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was like one of their family members who was actually helping put on the thing.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: It's not for amateurs.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: That's why we go for the experts.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: Universal horror unleashed.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: They know what they're doing.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: Uh the costumes are amazing.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: When we left, I didn't, you know, I we always talk about how Area 15 has so much, but they have a really cool carousel there.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: They just opened a Nacho Daddy.
- 20:05Dayna Roselli: There's so much to do at Area 15.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: And this was in zone two, right?
- 20:09Sean McAllister: Which is the expansion phase of everything going on over there at uh Area 15.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: It is a good spot to go and check out.
- 20:17Sean McAllister: You could literally spend all day there.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: That's so true.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, so Resident Evil, the summer takeover goes until August 30th.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: We'll keep you posted on what comes next.
- 20:27Sean McAllister: Well, here's an update for all of you folks who like to boot scootin' boogie on the dance floor, line dance, kick back a cold one, listen to some live country music.
- 20:37Sean McAllister: Stoney's is opening up at Sunset Station on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley in Henderson.
- 20:44Sean McAllister: This is a ca casino from Station Casinos.
- 20:47Sean McAllister: And Stoney's is a country bar that has been here in Las Vegas for a long time, really popular.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: They have one on the north end of town too.
- 20:57Sean McAllister: And this is their newest location that's opening up on August 15th.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so they have the Rockin' Country down at Town Square, they have the 40 north?
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: North 40?
- 21:06Sean McAllister: Uh North 40.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: North 40, um, up north.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: And now Henderson will have something.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: It's so funny.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: I have so many uh girlfriends that whenever that I'm friends with now that'll always say, like, I used to bartend at Stoney's.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I feel like everyone I know used to bartend at Stoney's.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: So when you say it's been here a long time, it has been here a long time.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: Um, but the one at Town Square, and it does so well.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it's opening August 15th.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: There's a big celebration planned, 8 p.m.
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: Um, but in this location, we'll have, you know, the mechanical bull riding, the live entertainment, the dancing, and obviously tons of drink specials.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Um, they're expecting a big turnout, and it's really exciting.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the countdown is on.
- 21:45Dayna Roselli: They've got a countdown clock on the website, and it looks really nice with some of the pictures there.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: So um I'm excited for everyone that loves.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: I mean, people country music is like beloved, you know, by so many people.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: And I was actually in the elevator in my building the other day.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh, where are you guys going?
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: It was a couple.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: And they're like, we're going to Stoney's.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh my god, I love it.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: People love to go do the line dancing and stuff.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: And the the musicians that Stoney's books, they are really on the pulse of like the up and comers in the country music scene.
- 22:17Sean McAllister: So chances are if you go and see a live show at any of Stoney's locations, that artist has a really good chance of becoming massive in a year, two years down the road.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: So true, so true.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: We actually did some features for Stony's original.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: Um and we learned all about that.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: We were looking at people on the wall, going, Oh my gosh.
- 22:40Sean McAllister: Like massive superstars, yeah.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: Big ones.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: So love it.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: Um again, the grand opening celebration will feature line dancing, bull riding, drinks, ice cold drinks, special entertainment.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: Um, and again, it's 8 p.m.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: on August 15th at Sunset Station.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: If you want to head over there, it sounds like a lot of fun, and then it'll be open for business.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: All right.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: Let's get to some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: We got a lot in here this week.
- 23:08Sean McAllister: There it really is.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Aaron Paul and Brian Cranston.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: They love Las Vegas.
- 23:12Dayna Roselli: And sometimes when they make their appearances, they pop all over town.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: Everywhere.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: And you see them behind the bar and all that.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: And that's exactly what uh happened over at Omnia Day Club uh just this past Saturday.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: You know, they're known from breaking bad.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: And they hopped behind the bar, they were serving drinks, uh, the DJ came up.
- 23:32Dayna Roselli: It was like a whole thing, but a lot of fun.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: People love seeing them.
- 23:35Sean McAllister: And I feel like they might have been over at uh Wynn or Encore as well.
- 23:40Sean McAllister: I feel like I saw some pictures of them maybe at Zero Bond or one of the properties, one of the venues over at uh Wynn as well.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: Because, like you said, when they're in town, they load up their schedule and they are promoting their mezcal, hombre's mezcal, and tequila.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Dos hombres.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:59Dayna Roselli: Hence it's both of them, right?
- 24:00Dayna Roselli: One, two.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: I'm getting good.
- 24:03Sean McAllister: That is Dos Ombres.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: So they're yeah, they're tequila, and they know what they're doing, just like Mark Wahlberg.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: He gets behind the bar too.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: You gotta listen, as Joan Rivers told me in an interview, and I know I've said it a million times, you gotta promote your own stuff.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: Sure do.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: You know, don't waste time promoting other people's stuff.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: Promote your own stuff.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: And so Aaron Paul and Brian Cranston know what they're doing.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: They do.
- 24:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, so that's a publicity machine, those two.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: That's a fun sighting.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Well, uh speaking of Omnia, you may remember that when Omnia Day Club opened, they had a lot going on that day, lots of special events, and one of them included uh Kobe Raha, who attempted to jump the Caesars to Palace Fountains, like Evil Knieval did.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: A different kind of challenge the way that he did it, um, which he's gonna explain in just a minute because we did a great interview with him.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: But um, he did break a world record during this event, and it happens quick.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: The video is incredible, so you might want to watch this on our YouTube channel once we put it up.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: But um, it was interesting to talk to Colby as like a motorcycle stuntman.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: Like, why do you like why do you do this?
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: Like, it's crazy.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: It is, and you know, it was an appropriate venue to talk with Colby Raha as well, because uh, like you said, the Evil Knievel Museum opened up in downtown Las Vegas, and that's where we uh saw Colby and we were like, hey, you know what?
- 25:27Sean McAllister: We need to ask him about this jump he just did.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: I know, and we didn't expect to have such a great interview, but we were we were into it.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: Like we didn't know if he had to rush off, but we sat and chatted.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: So listen to this interview.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: Colby reacts to his world record and also talks to us about Evil Knievil and also why he does this or how he even got started.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: It's you know, not for everyone.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Evil Knievel is the king, it's where it all started.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: Uh, this whole daredevil risk your life for a world record on a motorcycle.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Uh, he is the inventor of it, and and it all started for him at Caesar's Palace was his first big jump.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Huge wreck, and people tune in to watch him wreck.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, growing up watching him, working my butt off to be in the position I'm in to get the opportunity to break world records uh is a huge honor.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: I got to go to Caesar's Palace Fountains and break a world record for the highest ever quarter pipe air.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: Uh something different this new day and age uh pushing the limits.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: And uh I'm going for not crashing is my goal.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Uh I've had a couple big crashes, not as many as evil can evil.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: How did you even just go, hey, this is what I want to do?
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: I think I might do this.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: Like, what was that like for you?
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Like, what age were you?
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: What did you see that in you thought this is what I want to do?
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: Well, to um think this is what I want to do, it's more of I think it takes a certain type of person.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: It's you gotta be fearless, uh, really.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: You gotta know how to risk your life and turn off the care switch and go fearless, but you gotta have the work ethic to back it up and land the jump.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Um, you kinda gotta wanna be a show-off a little bit, I think.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Uh, and when you do land it, I'll tell you what, it's all worth it.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Uh, it's the greatest feeling ever to be one of uh holding a world record.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is 2026, and so for me to be able to say have a world record, I have five of them now, and I'm not done, but I think uh, you know, you could die doing it, get seriously injured, but when you land it, it's all worth it, and I think that's what kept Evil Knievel coming back.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: To be able to do what you did in Las Vegas over Caesars Palace, an iconic place where Evil Knievel was, I mean, that was a big moment for you.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: It was huge.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, Caesars Palace hit me up direct, and to have the opportunity to do it, and they gave me a three weeks notice.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: It was it was tough to pull that off, and uh, was able to do it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: It was a success, it was a world record.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Um, live at the Caesars Palace Fountains where it all started.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: It's a huge honor and uh very blessed.
- 27:56Dayna Roselli: Good for him.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: You know, you could tell he really loves it.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: I the smile on his face, this whole interview.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: I mean, he he like he loves it.
- 28:03Sean McAllister: Oh, he lit up talking about not only Evil Can Evil, but his jump, all of it.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: Um, again, the this is a very visual story, so go to our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel and you can see the jump that Colby was just talking about and the world record that he now holds.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: I know, I know it's actually not in one of our TV shows for a little bit, so maybe I'll put the separate story up sooner so that people can go find it and click.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: We'll do that for them.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: Hey, we got some music news.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: One of our favorites, Rick Springfield is coming back to Las Vegas on August 29th over at the Palms.
- 28:38Sean McAllister: He's got another show coming up.
- 28:40Sean McAllister: We love it when Rick comes through town.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: I know, and he's doing a one-off, one night only.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: So this is gonna sell quick if it's not sold out already.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: I'm not sure.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: But we enjoyed chatting with Rick two summers ago.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: It was his 75th birthday.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: And oh, it was such a hot day outside.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: I remember we talk about all the time.
- 28:58Dayna Roselli: But you know, it it's just you could just tell he obviously loves what he does.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: People, fans have reacted to anything we ever post on social media about Rick, any parts of this interview, still to this day.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: Um, he's beloved.
- 29:12Sean McAllister: He's beloved, he's an icon, he's been in soap operas, a music star, obviously.
- 29:19Sean McAllister: Uh, and it is.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: It's just great to see him still doing what he loves to do.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: So he'll be at the Pear with the Palms 8 p.m.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: on August 29th.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: But listen to some clips of our interview with Rick uh a couple years ago.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: What do you like about Las Vegas?
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Uh I've spent two years here doing effects, the show at the MTM Grand, and uh I just love the vi I love the desert.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: And you know, the people are here to party, and that's all they come for.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: So there's no there's not a lot of tension in an audience here, you know?
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: It's great.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: What do you do for fun when you visit Vegas?
- 29:53Dayna Roselli: Anything, or do you just chill and then go do your shows?
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just chill.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Um my shows are, you know, they're that's that's the fun.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: That's the party.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: So I I don't really kind of look for another party.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: Uh I like to just have this amazing restaurants here, so I I go to um come out with friends or restaurants.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Um not a gambler.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm here for them.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: Okay, something's like Jesse's girl.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: When you hear it and you it I mean, it's been around for a long time.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: People love it, they embrace it.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: I feel like everyone knows it.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: Is that something that warms your heart over you like alright?
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: I'm over Jesse's girl already.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's gotta be I'm very proud of Rhythm.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: My life is before Jesse's girl and after Jesse's girl, really.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's it's the dividing line between uh the two parts of my life, and um um, you know, I I love the reaction, of course.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: It's like really like having someone who and ah over your child.
- 30:56unknown: Yeah.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: That's that personal to me.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: I love that he embraces Jesse's girl.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: I mean, how can you not?
- 31:04Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 31:04Sean McAllister: I that just it puts a smile on my face, playing it in my head right now.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that day he was behind the bar at the Palm's pool making the Jesse's girl cocktail for all the fans.
- 31:13Sean McAllister: He was and those he has some die hard fans.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: He does.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: They uh definitely, like I said, they're commenting still to this day on videos that we put up with Rick from like a I I want to say it was two years ago.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: I'm like, then I'm like, did time fly?
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: Is it was it three years ago?
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: I think it was two summers ago.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: Regardless, it's from the Vegas Revealed vault.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: Yes, it is.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: Um, but great to have Rick back in town.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: And and you know, if you see him out and about, make sure you say hi.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: As he said, he likes to go out to dinner and stuff.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: But I love that he says his show is the party.
