- 2:12Speaker 3: When p Miller founding, when person found he put you
- 2:23Speaker 3: right on the TV show right away. Bro, How was
- 2:32Speaker 3: that though?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Bro?
- 2:33Speaker 3: How did that even come about?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Man? Bro?
- 2:35Speaker 3: It was?
- 2:35Speaker 5: It was the most random moment ever because at the
- 2:40Speaker 5: time I was playing on AU team, so everybody who
- 2:43Speaker 5: with the P Miller Ballers, we was on another A
- 2:45Speaker 5: team before that, and that was like our last year.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I think we had just one like Nationals and was
- 2:51Speaker 5: breaking up sponsorship and everything. So we was we was
- 2:54Speaker 5: all just trying to figure out what we was going
- 2:56Speaker 5: to do next. Then all of a sudden, you know,
- 2:58Speaker 5: we got word like Master p wanted to have an
- 3:01Speaker 5: AU team. You know, He's gonna have tryouts at at
- 3:05Speaker 5: this high school show up. So in my mind I'm thinking, like,
- 3:08Speaker 5: all right, this is just his team. He not actually
- 3:10Speaker 5: gonna be there, you know what I mean. So we
- 3:12Speaker 5: all show up to the high school pee walking. Then
- 3:17Speaker 5: Romeo walk in with him, like all right, we got
- 3:21Speaker 5: practiced three man weave, four man we five man weave,
- 3:24Speaker 5: and we hoop, so we're doing that. So we just
- 3:26Speaker 5: thinking it's gonna be a moment just that. So he
- 3:29Speaker 5: was like, you know, all right, same time next week.
- 3:32Speaker 5: So it became a consistent thing like oh damn, we
- 3:34Speaker 5: about to were about to play for p oh shit,
- 3:37Speaker 5: he coaching too, Like you know, we were about to
- 3:40Speaker 5: rock out and all of a sudden before we start playing.
- 3:41Speaker 5: He always used to invite us to the house. So
- 3:43Speaker 5: we used to go to his house practice in the backyard,
- 3:46Speaker 5: lifting weights at his house.
- 3:48Speaker 2: In the gym.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Just crazy shit that damn nobody, especially for me at
- 3:52Speaker 5: the time, like I'm fourteen, coming from like Compton. Were
- 3:55Speaker 5: going to the house. He got a tennis court, pool,
- 3:59Speaker 5: wait room, got everything you need. Then at the same
- 4:01Speaker 5: time we watching him record make albums at the time,
- 4:04Speaker 5: rome doing the Romeo Show, So it was like it
- 4:07Speaker 5: was a trip at that time, knowing like we about
- 4:09Speaker 5: to play for this team and he about to be
- 4:11Speaker 5: a coach. Was any other top Dogs on your team
- 4:14Speaker 5: with you? Yeah, Brandon was on that team. We had
- 4:17Speaker 5: a we had a kid named Yeah on that Okay,
- 4:23Speaker 5: we had remember baby Shack, he played on our on
- 4:27Speaker 5: our team, so we had a lot of talent. We
- 4:29Speaker 5: had a lot of guys and you know, we we
- 4:32Speaker 5: we just rocked out after that.
- 4:33Speaker 3: That's hard, b I had a That ship was funny
- 4:36Speaker 3: as fun It was a trip bro trusted. We had
- 4:41Speaker 3: our own bus going to.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Games like we was like we was like on some
- 4:46Speaker 5: like A and one type ship.
- 4:48Speaker 2: No fact, were pulling up the whole gym wade like
- 4:51Speaker 2: it was. It was.
- 4:51Speaker 3: It was in the spotlight early, which is.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Crazy because I met him at a B C D camp.
- 4:58Speaker 4: He probably don't remember. I was just a young star, buddy,
- 5:01Speaker 4: and don't even worry about it. I was just trying
- 5:05Speaker 4: to make my way. I had no scholarship offer, so
- 5:07Speaker 4: I'm trying to do anything I could do to get
- 5:08Speaker 4: a scholarship. Me and him are on the same team
- 5:10Speaker 4: at ABCD, can't. I'm gunning. I'm going to be a senior.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I'm trying to get some offers here. You're younger. I'm
- 5:18Speaker 4: having a moment. I'm playing good, shining, doing my thing.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I get a couple offers after the first day, like well,
- 5:23Speaker 4: I got like forty but whatever, so I'm having a
- 5:27Speaker 4: good day. The next day, he tapped me on the shoulder.
- 5:31Speaker 4: It's master p I'm thinking he about to be like, yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 4: you nice, so you know. I'm like, he like, hey,
- 5:37Speaker 4: my man, that kid right there can play. Give him
- 5:40Speaker 4: a chance, play with him. He tell me a play
- 5:42Speaker 4: to do, like drive to the middle, throw it up.
- 5:45Speaker 4: He gonna go get it. I swear to god I
- 5:47Speaker 4: did that. I threw it up when we dunked it,
- 5:52Speaker 4: I ain't get the ball no more.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Every I swear everything. I love Bro every play for Bro. Hey,
- 5:58Speaker 1: he was killing I'm like, damn, who is this dude?
- 6:02Speaker 1: And they like he played for Pete Miller. I'm like, Damn,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I don't know nothing. I'm like, but they'll be cool
- 6:06Speaker 1: with master P like saying ice cream.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Look, but that's what I knew. I seen him right there.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And then the scene when we get drafted, I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 4: it's different.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Did you play the Pete Millers?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah? I played him. You know. It's crazy fight up now.
- 6:26Speaker 5: It was the time I was playing in him so much, right,
- 6:30Speaker 5: And I don't think I ever talked about this. Romeo
- 6:33Speaker 5: was trying to go to high school with me at
- 6:34Speaker 5: Countin High right, we were.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Trying to I've never told this story. Bro.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I'm glad it's here.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So wrong.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Ron was trying to figure out how to go to
- 6:44Speaker 5: school with me at Counton High. So we ended up saying,
- 6:47Speaker 5: like we're going to get the whole team Pete Miller's.
- 6:49Speaker 5: We made them all blue. Everybody had blue p Miller.
- 6:52Speaker 5: So rome was like, you know, really trying to figure
- 6:54Speaker 5: out how you can go to Contain High.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So we meet him with the school.
- 6:57Speaker 5: They was like, man, he'd just show off the games,
- 6:59Speaker 5: he get the work once a week, do the work
- 7:03Speaker 5: all that. So we end up having like a practice,
- 7:06Speaker 5: like he came to my high school, had a practice.
- 7:09Speaker 5: I'm talking about every gang member outside of the gym.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Everything we go hoop. As soon as we come out
- 7:16Speaker 5: the gym, the principal was like, yeah, he's not gonna
- 7:18Speaker 5: be able to come here. It was like he was
- 7:20Speaker 5: really trying to go to high school with me, you
- 7:22Speaker 5: know what I mean, Like we was really like about
- 7:24Speaker 5: to sponsor this school to wear Pete Miller's and everything,
- 7:26Speaker 5: but it ended up not working out and everything. But
- 7:29Speaker 5: that was a crazy It was a crazy time because
- 7:31Speaker 5: especially at that time, like you're talking about little Romeo
- 7:33Speaker 5: going to Conte Hide that shu don't even sound right?
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah too much, Yeah, doing the beach somewhere. She really
- 7:42Speaker 3: liked that though.
- 7:43Speaker 5: Yeah he could hoop, he can hoop for like, he
- 7:46Speaker 5: definitely you know, cal hoop, you know what I mean,
- 7:49Speaker 5: he definitely surprised if it was something you stick with,
- 7:52Speaker 5: you know, you know, it all come down the size
- 7:55Speaker 5: at the end of the day.
- 7:57Speaker 2: His little brother nice though. Yeah, he don't want. He
- 7:59Speaker 2: didn't want.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Mercy, Mercy, he gonna be the one to He
- 8:02Speaker 5: going to Houston next year, but he definitely gonna be
- 8:04Speaker 5: the one.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And what's so crazy is people forget like he made
- 8:08Speaker 1: it to the crazy but he used to hoop. What
- 8:12Speaker 1: it's every day Like he will come in who play
- 8:15Speaker 1: for real? Damn they're about to fight you everything Like
- 8:18Speaker 1: he playing like bully ball, shooting threes like he used
- 8:22Speaker 1: to hoo with us all the time.
- 8:23Speaker 3: That's t bro, that's fire. It's the cold moment that
- 8:27Speaker 3: you got to brace early, bro, like the pick they got, Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 3: they got to do rags and that's a fire album
- 8:34Speaker 3: cover look like, but that was that was at a
- 8:38Speaker 3: video shoot, bro, that's even harder.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Look, no bull ship, I used to miss school to
- 8:46Speaker 5: go to a video shoots. Whoever had a video if
- 8:48Speaker 5: he had a video rum. I would miss school, be
- 8:52Speaker 5: at the video shoot all day.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Because we heard you. It's just a side bar. We
- 8:55Speaker 1: heard you rap today they ain't play that.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Ship said you definitely got bars, So it might have
- 9:07Speaker 2: started from there.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So for sure, Man, But like crazy basketball origin man
- 9:14Speaker 1: going crazy in high school?
- 9:15Speaker 5: Was it a no brainer you was going to USC Man? Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 5: because I didn't want to leave home. It's crazy. I
- 9:22Speaker 5: took a visit. I took a couple of visits with
- 9:24Speaker 5: the North Carolina, Florida State cal somewhere else. I took
- 9:31Speaker 5: like unofficials. But when I went to Florida State at
- 9:35Speaker 5: the time, that's when all the hurricanes and ship was
- 9:37Speaker 5: going on. So I'm out there, I'm like, Man, ain't
- 9:39Speaker 5: no way in hell I'm leaving home.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I can't. I can't.
- 9:42Speaker 5: You know what I mean, If this ship happened, I'm terrified.
- 9:44Speaker 5: So once once I've seen that happen, I was like, man,
- 9:47Speaker 5: I'm staying home regardless. Then I started looking at it
- 9:50Speaker 5: on some real ship. I started looking at it like, man,
- 9:52Speaker 5: if I go to the NBA, it's a good chance
- 9:53Speaker 5: I'm not going to play home. So let me get
- 9:56Speaker 5: let me enjoy playing home one last time and ship
- 9:59Speaker 5: I do that and get my ascent to Canada, like
- 10:01Speaker 5: you know what I mean, Like I didn't think I'd
- 10:04Speaker 5: go that far, but you know what I mean. But
- 10:06Speaker 5: I wanted to stay home for the most part, just
- 10:08Speaker 5: for the simple factor, like I wanted to be home
- 10:10Speaker 5: one last time for sure.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I mean, you went to USA. It was crazy. You
- 10:13Speaker 1: almost went to USA. I never the year before, but.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Oj Mayo went and when I went on my visit,
- 10:19Speaker 4: OJ happened to be there. They forgot I was on
- 10:22Speaker 4: the visit.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you know how that goes.
- 10:25Speaker 4: It was just like, oh, yeah, you come on, we
- 10:27Speaker 4: get you too. My pop was like, yeah, that ain't
- 10:29Speaker 4: the place for you, but nah, it was fun. I
- 10:32Speaker 4: ain't gonna lie. Keep it a real. It's a beautiful
- 10:35Speaker 4: scener some nice US season. It's a nice campus, man,
- 10:39Speaker 4: they have it set up for you.
- 10:40Speaker 2: And you went.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Yeah, But I wasn't tripping on nothing because I was home,
- 10:46Speaker 5: you know what I mean. Like, I didn't even trip
- 10:47Speaker 5: on whatever it was you could show me, because at
- 10:49Speaker 5: the end of the day, I was home. I was
- 10:50Speaker 5: in my comfort already, so I wasn't even tripping on
- 10:52Speaker 5: what you could show me. I'm looking at it like,
- 10:54Speaker 5: let me do this six seven months and I'm going anyway.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Okay, so you alread had to project it in your mind.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I was out. I was.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I was going, that's hard, yeah, respectful, like the number
- 11:05Speaker 3: three player in the country.
- 11:06Speaker 2: So yeah, I was.
- 11:08Speaker 3: He was on that list.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah I was. I was.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I was going, what was you battling with in high school?
- 11:13Speaker 4: Because I was a year older, so I'm not even sure.
- 11:16Speaker 5: So our class was crazy because we had Tyreekrek was
- 11:20Speaker 5: was the man, Brandon was the man, Drew Holiday was
- 11:24Speaker 5: a man. So we had a solid class of like
- 11:28Speaker 5: from that wing position of dudes that was dogs, you
- 11:31Speaker 5: know what I mean.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So it's three that's in Cali right there there there.
- 11:34Speaker 5: You know what I mean. So just in our state
- 11:36Speaker 5: a loan like it was, it was, it was. It
- 11:38Speaker 5: was a lot going on just from that competitive standpoint.
- 11:40Speaker 5: So I mean, we had we had plenty other dudes
- 11:44Speaker 5: like Scottie Hopson.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, we had We had a lot
- 11:50Speaker 4: of dudes man that that that had a chance that.
- 11:53Speaker 5: You know, either injuries or whatever it may be. But
- 11:56Speaker 5: at the time high school it was, it was it
- 11:57Speaker 5: was a dog fight. Yeah, I thought Scotty was going
- 11:59Speaker 5: to the me too, me too.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Oh dangn And for us, we always big up in
- 12:07Speaker 1: the end, especially Naptown hoops because we had a lot
- 12:09Speaker 1: of cuz the time. But like we look at it now,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you talk about them areas, y'all. Y'all had the real
- 12:13Speaker 1: ones that O six, O seven eight class nothing but
- 12:17Speaker 1: all pros.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And yeah, think about the year before it was James Harden.
- 12:20Speaker 5: It was like Russell Russ like we had like some
- 12:24Speaker 5: some some dogs. We had a couple of years where
- 12:27Speaker 5: it was like it was it was you look at it,
- 12:29Speaker 5: It's come on, you can't deny it. Like out of California,
- 12:32Speaker 5: even just southern California at the time, it was crazy.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Did you ever come across them though? Like in high school?
- 12:37Speaker 5: Yeah, against I played against Drew. I've been playing against
- 12:39Speaker 5: Drew ever since I was eleven twelve years old. He
- 12:41Speaker 5: was the first. He was the first person I ever
- 12:44Speaker 5: played with. How I learned the word Amberdextrius, I learned
- 12:48Speaker 5: it from Drew Holliday. Okay, somebody was like man. He
- 12:51Speaker 5: he used both hands like how he played now is
- 12:54Speaker 5: how he played when he when he.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Was eleven years old.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Dang yill, smart, crafty, defensive, like defensively all over the floor.
- 13:03Speaker 2: He was the same exact way.
- 13:05Speaker 3: He cold the cold.
- 13:07Speaker 5: So it's like all those guys played against him since
- 13:10Speaker 5: we was eleven twelve years old. For sure, man Clay
- 13:14Speaker 5: Clay play was my high school class. Oh a, so
- 13:19Speaker 5: you know we had a we had a we have
- 13:21Speaker 5: some dogs facts for sure.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Digital thing one year in usc How was it playing
- 13:26Speaker 1: in college? I mean, you know what I'm saying. I
- 13:27Speaker 1: know it's a little bit of a different place, especially
- 13:29Speaker 1: from high school and that you how was that playing
- 13:32Speaker 1: in college?
- 13:32Speaker 2: And how was it playing at the crib in college?
- 13:34Speaker 5: I ain't gonna lie. My first two months in college
- 13:37Speaker 5: I struggled because it was like, you know, you go
- 13:39Speaker 5: from being a star, being able to do whatever you want,
- 13:42Speaker 5: however you want, whenever you want to where it's like
- 13:45Speaker 5: now you gotta you gotta learn the structure of a
- 13:48Speaker 5: discipline from another level of you know, coach telling you to,
- 13:51Speaker 5: you know, run the offense for twenty five seconds before
- 13:54Speaker 5: somebody shoot, you know what I mean. Like, So it
- 13:56Speaker 5: was a struggle in my first two months. But after that,
- 13:58Speaker 5: once I got it and started clicking. For me, it
- 14:01Speaker 5: was it was. It was simple, it was easy, start killing.
- 14:04Speaker 5: It was cool, just out of family there, you know, ship,
- 14:07Speaker 5: I will, I will playing a game, and twenty minutes
- 14:10Speaker 5: after the game, I'm right back in.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Compting, like you know what I mean, like it was,
- 14:13Speaker 2: it was, it was that every day for me.
- 14:15Speaker 5: And you play with my dog, My dog man really
- 14:22Speaker 5: like he helped me through that whole even before we
- 14:24Speaker 5: play the game. I remember came to my dorm room
- 14:27Speaker 5: and just you know, embraced me. You know what I mean,
- 14:30Speaker 5: that's that's that's that's the o.
- 14:32Speaker 2: G Man, real one dog, tell you a real one
- 14:35Speaker 2: for sure. Facts he told us you it was a dog.
- 14:36Speaker 4: He was like, Man, I had oj the year before
- 14:39Speaker 4: then I had the mark came. He was like, man,
- 14:42Speaker 4: I just played with some dogs. Well and I was like, yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 4: for sure you.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Did, my dog man. That's a good dude, man, for sure. Man.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I got to ask you a question of how true
- 14:51Speaker 2: this is?
- 14:52Speaker 1: You play the part in the US getting their own
- 14:54Speaker 1: pe Kobe's yes, m yes.
- 14:57Speaker 5: And it more so came from the relations ship I
- 15:00Speaker 5: had with Cold I think you know when I was
- 15:02Speaker 5: like fifteen sixteen, You remember when they used to have
- 15:05Speaker 5: like Steve Nash camp YEP for Kobe Camp, Paul Periods Camp. Yeah, Mari,
- 15:09Speaker 5: I think it was a Mari Mark camp.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 5: So it just started from, you know, my relationship with Cob.
- 15:15Speaker 5: I think it's a picture that that started to go around.
- 15:18Speaker 5: I was a cold camp. Cob was talking to me.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I was sitting like front row. Clay was in the picture.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Were like fifteen, sixteen years old, and you know, ever
- 15:26Speaker 5: since then, like me and Cob had just like a
- 15:28Speaker 5: bond one me being from LA and the connection kind
- 15:32Speaker 5: of just grew from there. Me wearing the shoes and
- 15:35Speaker 5: you know, I think when the Kobe once came out,
- 15:39Speaker 5: he gave me a pair and I started just rocking
- 15:42Speaker 5: them from there, like Kobe twos. Then you can go
- 15:45Speaker 5: back to, you know, google me in high school my
- 15:47Speaker 5: senior year I had I was the first ones with with.
- 15:51Speaker 2: The Nike. I d Kobe's damn every colorway.
- 15:55Speaker 5: It was to a point like all through high school,
- 15:57Speaker 5: people tell you like I had so many Kobe's. After
- 15:59Speaker 5: every game I was throw him in the crowd. Uh
- 16:01Speaker 5: he clowned you know, so it was like it was
- 16:05Speaker 5: you out of pocket high school. That's fire hard, Like
- 16:09Speaker 5: you know this was, so it was like, you know,
- 16:12Speaker 5: it started from there. Then you know when got the
- 16:14Speaker 5: s C at the time, I think the Kobe Fords
- 16:16Speaker 5: was it was Kobe Fords.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Was out, and you know it just ran away with
- 16:20Speaker 2: it from here.
- 16:21Speaker 4: But you're gonna tie your shoes though, never have like
- 16:24Speaker 4: how you That's why I know he is trench baby. Listen,
- 16:27Speaker 4: he hooped without his shoes tied brow just like this,
- 16:33Speaker 4: That's what I'm talking.
- 16:34Speaker 5: But but the thing, you know why though, what like
- 16:42Speaker 5: I played a new shoe every game, so you know
- 16:44Speaker 5: how like most guys gotta break their shoe and everything,
- 16:46Speaker 5: so I like the tight fit. So I gotta put
- 16:49Speaker 5: on a new shoe every game. So I don't I
- 16:52Speaker 5: don't need the time. And it all started and forget.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I got some Jordan Nines when I was like eleven
- 16:58Speaker 5: years old. I got I have had some Jordan I
- 17:00Speaker 5: never told this story. Either have some Jordan Nyn's and
- 17:04Speaker 5: I got them for like Christmas or some shit. So
- 17:06Speaker 5: I wanted to wear them in a game. So my
- 17:11Speaker 5: mom dad was like, man, these your school shoes. This
- 17:14Speaker 5: for school. I'm like, no, I want to look clean
- 17:16Speaker 5: in the game. So it's like all right, you messing
- 17:18Speaker 5: on messing them up, that's on you. So I never
- 17:20Speaker 5: wanted to tie my shoe to put a crease in them. Never,
- 17:24Speaker 5: So I was like, man, I'm just playing these motherfuckers
- 17:26Speaker 5: like I'm just walking around. So it started from that
- 17:28Speaker 5: moment of me never tying my shoe. I was like
- 17:30Speaker 5: eleven years old. I didn't want to fucking my Jordan Yns.
- 17:33Speaker 4: You just hoop and the motherfucker giving you thirty five
- 17:37Speaker 4: forty and he ain't tied shit.
- 17:39Speaker 2: With elite footwork. That's the crazy.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Are the best fits of basketball history and your shoes
- 17:43Speaker 1: ain't tied, and that's crazy.
- 17:45Speaker 5: It's so crazy because it's been so many games. I
- 17:48Speaker 5: would be in a corner in front of the visit
- 17:49Speaker 5: visitor bench. You will, you will hear niggas say this,
- 17:53Speaker 5: niggas shoes ain't tied, like you wouldn't hear it, Like
- 17:56Speaker 5: like it's niggas, I said here, disrespectful all the time.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Bro, I'm about to I'll never forget San Antonio. You
- 18:04Speaker 4: was in San Antonio. This is when I first noticed it.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Like you've probably been, like you said, you've been doing
- 18:08Speaker 4: it forever. But I first noticed it because I was like,
- 18:10Speaker 4: I'm gonna ask Mark for his jersey. I was like
- 18:12Speaker 4: super proud for I'm ask some nigga for the jersey.
- 18:15Speaker 4: But I was like, man, he oh, nah, I'm a
- 18:17Speaker 4: fan asked for his jersey and I look down.
- 18:20Speaker 2: So I'm gonna ask for some kobees too, I said.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Nigga ain't got shoes up.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I said, man, he's not about to play to night.
- 18:28Speaker 1: This nigga proceeds to get like thirty five. I never
- 18:32Speaker 1: laced this shop, I said, man.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I told the people on the bell, like wig, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 4: he just gave you thirty five.
- 18:38Speaker 1: He ain't tied his shoes any durable though you always play.
- 18:43Speaker 3: You tell your shoes like you do construction, and still
- 18:47Speaker 3: they work for corner.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Look at me.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I tied my shoes all the way up. What ship
- 18:55Speaker 1: was tied in the brill.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Was flopping down on the ground tide certainly right now,
- 19:06Speaker 3: that's crazy.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I was doing this ship all right.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Man.
- 19:12Speaker 2: That's the trick. Don't like your shoes. Like your shoes, man,
- 19:15Speaker 2: I don't. It ain't for everybody.
- 19:16Speaker 5: And I'll be seeing some niggas hurt their ankle and
- 19:18Speaker 5: they tied how they show up all tight like I.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Never ye, Nigga's lame. Don't worry, bro, I can't relate.
- 19:26Speaker 1: But that's crazy. Like you said, man, you kill usc
- 19:28Speaker 1: Did you get drafted and then you go to Canada
- 19:30Speaker 1: Like you didn't want to go to Floida because that
- 19:32Speaker 1: was too far.
- 19:32Speaker 2: You go to a whole other country.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Yeah. I think I needed it though, because I was
- 19:38Speaker 5: so stuck on being home and scared to leave home
- 19:42Speaker 5: that I needed that to kind of get me in
- 19:45Speaker 5: an element of you know, a lot of my ways
- 19:48Speaker 5: I follow now was from me going to Canada my
- 19:50Speaker 5: first year of being by myself, nobody able to come,
- 19:54Speaker 5: none of my cousins, nobody had a passport, nobody even
- 19:56Speaker 5: knew who the passport was. Like, I didn't get a passport,
- 19:59Speaker 5: and so two days before I got drafted, like so
- 20:03Speaker 5: let alone my family got one. So I'm up there
- 20:05Speaker 5: just by myself, and all I could do was just
- 20:07Speaker 5: focus on who you know what I mean, Like I
- 20:09Speaker 5: didn't have no distractions. I didn't have to worry about
- 20:11Speaker 5: people in and out. So it was it was. It
- 20:14Speaker 5: was beneficial for me, it was. And I had great
- 20:17Speaker 5: vets too at the time, you know what I mean,
- 20:18Speaker 5: Like Jared Jack helped me out a lot.
- 20:21Speaker 2: That was my that was my that was my roll.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Dog like he was the first person introduced me to
- 20:26Speaker 5: a lot of ways on how to dress wintertime, with
- 20:30Speaker 5: to eat you know what I mean, all that, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 5: So it gave me a chance just to lock in.
- 20:34Speaker 5: So I was I was definitely grateful for that because
- 20:38Speaker 5: you know, if I would anywhere else, who knows what
- 20:40Speaker 5: would have happened.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Facts, damn, I didn't even think about that. Yeah, your
- 20:43Speaker 1: first winter, boy, it was different.
- 20:45Speaker 5: Oh no, it was different because winter hit. I just
- 20:47Speaker 5: remember getting off the plane one time, it's snowing. I
- 20:52Speaker 5: got chucks on the park, you know what I mean.
- 20:54Speaker 5: By the time I get in the car, my whole
- 20:56Speaker 5: angle fro, you know what I mean. Like I'm like,
- 20:58Speaker 5: I didn't know what to wear, how to wear win awear,
- 21:01Speaker 5: you know what I mean. Like, so everything was like
- 21:04Speaker 5: a new learning experience for me that I needed.
- 21:06Speaker 3: You know what, I meant to play with one of
- 21:10Speaker 3: the gods, Cal Lorry.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I was a couple of years later. Yeah that's Cal.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Like I talked to Cal every fucking day all day.
- 21:19Speaker 5: He called me early Cal. When Kyle came to Toronto,
- 21:23Speaker 5: it was interesting because I didn't. I didn't have a
- 21:25Speaker 5: relationship with him at all. Like we played for a
- 21:28Speaker 5: whole year together and I never even said a word
- 21:31Speaker 5: to him. Damn we didn't talk. It was like literally
- 21:39Speaker 5: no word. We're talking about coming practice. It wasn't no
- 21:42Speaker 5: like dap up. But none of that ship like like
- 21:45Speaker 5: it wasn't it wasn't nothing like he he He was
- 21:47Speaker 5: a type that I was still stuck in the mindset
- 21:50Speaker 5: of having like a complementality, like, man.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Who is this nigga? Like what do he? You know?
- 21:56Speaker 2: He Philly, you know what I mean?
- 21:57Speaker 5: He coming in with his aggressive manner, doing whatever it
- 22:00Speaker 5: is he doing, getting on like man.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Who he too good for niggas? Like I ain't talking
- 22:05Speaker 2: to him.
- 22:06Speaker 5: But one thing like I noticed over time was like
- 22:09Speaker 5: he really put into work and cared about you know,
- 22:11Speaker 5: the craft, you know what I mean. It was like
- 22:13Speaker 5: no no funny games when it it was all it
- 22:15Speaker 5: was all strictly business. And like that next year, I
- 22:18Speaker 5: respected that more than anything that it made me want
- 22:20Speaker 5: to be like closer to him, you know what I mean,
- 22:23Speaker 5: because he a ride and die for you on that court.
- 22:26Speaker 5: You know that's how that's how the respect came and
- 22:28Speaker 5: ship next day. Yeah, like next thing, you know, like
- 22:32Speaker 5: like that that became our roll though, like you know
- 22:34Speaker 5: what I mean to where like we we we had
- 22:36Speaker 5: shipped to a t in the game to where like
- 22:39Speaker 5: he and no, like I come out beginning the game,
- 22:42Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, I'm going for a first quarter.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I'm getting to it. It's I bet I get the
- 22:46Speaker 2: second half.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Like we played off each other so much like that
- 22:49Speaker 5: because we was you know, from the friendship and understanding,
- 22:52Speaker 5: like we just wanted to win that bad.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And what's so crazy is like y'all historically like built
- 22:56Speaker 1: a franchise up there. You know, you had Vincent teammate
- 22:59Speaker 1: up there, but which'll did and the Raptors Jersey is
- 23:01Speaker 1: up there starting the test of time.
- 23:02Speaker 5: Yeah for sure, And that just one thing I definitely like,
- 23:05Speaker 5: you know, hold my hat too, because it's like you know,
- 23:08Speaker 5: we we you know when I first got there and
- 23:11Speaker 5: nobody gave a shit about it about it, you know
- 23:13Speaker 5: what I mean. People would come to Toronto knowing they
- 23:15Speaker 5: was getting to win, like that was automatic. I like
- 23:17Speaker 5: to have a time every time, like every time, like
- 23:20Speaker 5: it was a thing like bro like it was it was,
- 23:23Speaker 5: it was it was a thing. Like I remember, we
- 23:25Speaker 5: used to play either Saturday or Sundays. We used to
- 23:27Speaker 5: have early games on the weekend, like a twelve o'clock
- 23:30Speaker 5: twelve thirty game, and we were so bad. We used
- 23:33Speaker 5: to be like, man, we could get whoever we playing
- 23:35Speaker 5: because we know they without the night before. Damn, you
- 23:38Speaker 5: know what I mean. That's how bad. That's where we
- 23:40Speaker 5: had to start from and fight a way out of that.
- 23:42Speaker 5: So you know, I definitely probably myself on just you know,
- 23:46Speaker 5: changing and shifting the culture to have it like a
- 23:48Speaker 5: you know, a winning mentality there for sure.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I start smacking shit boy.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember that group. I used to want to
- 23:55Speaker 4: be on that. Yea, I've seen so bad. It was
- 23:57Speaker 4: you a mirror.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Y'all had like this cool ass team, like y'all was
- 24:04Speaker 4: fresh as fuck. Y'all always remember one game y'all had
- 24:07Speaker 4: on Jordan Six's.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I'm like, shit, I won't play on this team.
- 24:10Speaker 1: They look like they young. We smacked y'all, we get
- 24:13Speaker 1: the hell out of them. But I was like, they
- 24:15Speaker 1: look cool, like they look like they have a good time.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Man.
- 24:19Speaker 4: I was like, damn, I want to play on this team.
- 24:21Speaker 4: And then to see y'all go from nat to all
- 24:23Speaker 4: sudden like, oh, we about to go Toronto. We gotta
- 24:25Speaker 4: play this nigga, Kyle are about to be taking charges.
- 24:28Speaker 2: We got to send the double for debo. Bro. You know,
- 24:31Speaker 2: he get to this mill round just about to get crazy.
- 24:34Speaker 4: And so to see y'all take it from there to
- 24:36Speaker 4: like I'm having fun looking at y'all like, y'all you
- 24:38Speaker 4: had fun.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they real contenders. It's crazy.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Sure what year did the city really get lit?
- 24:44Speaker 2: Though?
- 24:44Speaker 3: So we're you know, Drake and everybody pulling up to
- 24:47Speaker 3: the game.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Drake, Drake will always come, but he was you got
- 24:52Speaker 5: to think about early on. That's when he just started
- 24:54Speaker 5: to blow up too, you know what I mean. So
- 24:56Speaker 5: I think when it really started taking off was that
- 24:58Speaker 5: first year we went to the place we played, Brooklyn.
- 25:02Speaker 5: I think that was like twenty thirteen, twenty fourteen. You know,
- 25:07Speaker 5: we we end up started having like the Jurassic Park outside.
- 25:10Speaker 5: That was hard, all the fans standing outside. We just started, like,
- 25:14Speaker 5: you know, they started like this whole rebranding outside ind
- 25:18Speaker 5: and we just took care of everything on the floor.
- 25:22Speaker 5: So I want to say around thirteen fourteen when it
- 25:25Speaker 5: really really took off.
- 25:26Speaker 1: And you could tell, like they had that one like
- 25:27Speaker 1: the logo on the floor that was like three D. Yeah, yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I had the Camo jerseys and shit, ye really.
- 25:33Speaker 5: They really started to change and rebrand everything, you know
- 25:35Speaker 5: what I mean, team wise and brand wise, and you know,
- 25:38Speaker 5: we kind of took off with it. And you know,
- 25:40Speaker 5: obviously like when when Drake got behind it, and you know,
- 25:44Speaker 5: we everything kind of just fell in line, honestly. You
- 25:46Speaker 5: know with the winning, you know, winning always saw saw
- 25:48Speaker 5: of everything. But you know, we I think we just
- 25:51Speaker 5: started to gain anybody respect because at that time when
- 25:53Speaker 5: we played Brooklyn in playoffs, that's when they had Joe Johnson,
- 25:56Speaker 5: Paul KG, Darren Williams, like they had a squad. We
- 26:02Speaker 5: took them to seven games. That was my first playoff
- 26:04Speaker 5: series and most of the team, like we were young.
- 26:06Speaker 5: So to take them to seven that lose by ship
- 26:09Speaker 5: at one point, you know, we that gave that gave
- 26:12Speaker 5: us a swagger we needed.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Years.
- 26:17Speaker 4: They was I ain't gonna lie. Was tough to play
- 26:19Speaker 4: bro y'all was y'all was cold, like man.
- 26:22Speaker 5: It was was so crazy because that next year that's
- 26:25Speaker 5: when them niggas was nice. I think we were we
- 26:29Speaker 5: were the only ones beating y'all. Y'all would beat us.
- 26:32Speaker 5: I remember getting to the playoffs. I remember because that
- 26:35Speaker 5: next year, I'll never forget them. Niggas was nice and
- 26:38Speaker 5: we all we I think we would beat them, Lisa
- 26:42Speaker 5: three out of four times. So I remember going to
- 26:45Speaker 5: the playoffs. We played the Wizards, and we was like,
- 26:49Speaker 5: we're gonna beat the Wizards. We want to play Atlanta
- 26:53Speaker 5: because we match up well with them, beat them, blah
- 26:55Speaker 5: blah blah. But we end up getting swept by the Wizards.
- 26:58Speaker 5: That's what y'alla. But yeah, we was like them niggas
- 27:01Speaker 5: was nice, but we knew we could beat them. Like
- 27:03Speaker 5: that's that was our mindset. Before we played the playoff game.
- 27:06Speaker 5: We was like, all right, we got the Wizards first,
- 27:08Speaker 5: lets line up so we could play Atlanta second round.
- 27:10Speaker 2: We get into the conference final.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I remember I had made a defense for y'all. I
- 27:15Speaker 4: was like, we're gonna trap him on everything we gonna make.
- 27:18Speaker 4: We knew Kyle can shoot, we knew Cay can score,
- 27:20Speaker 4: but we was like, t ross the rest of them,
- 27:23Speaker 4: they gonna have to fucking hoop. But we already knew
- 27:26Speaker 4: we was gonna beat whoever we was playing the first round,
- 27:28Speaker 4: don't even know who we played. We played Brooklyn and
- 27:30Speaker 4: we swept them, and we like, we're gonna play Toronto.
- 27:34Speaker 4: We I didn't think John was gonna beat them. Listen,
- 27:37Speaker 4: I didn't either. We got swept. We got crazy, bro,
- 27:41Speaker 4: we got ours beat.
- 27:43Speaker 3: That is crazy.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 27:45Speaker 4: We marked Toronto on that game. We was like, we're
- 27:47Speaker 4: gonna play Toronto.
- 27:48Speaker 2: We did. We did the same ship.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but we had The thing that was fucked up
- 27:52Speaker 4: is that we knew if we played in Toronto, like
- 27:55Speaker 4: I knew, like we played in Toronto, they might get
- 27:58Speaker 4: us one of them games, because Toronto was tough to
- 28:01Speaker 4: play at that time. Like and the way I was,
- 28:04Speaker 4: my life was set up times. Toronto was one of
- 28:09Speaker 4: my favorite cities. That was number two at the Miami.
- 28:12Speaker 4: So I was like, I know, I ain't gonna be
- 28:14Speaker 4: ship one of them guys. But then this might become
- 28:16Speaker 4: Dinnis might play that game.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You might come to play.
- 28:18Speaker 4: But but then when they got swept with D C
- 28:22Speaker 4: wasn't my ship. I mean DC was cool, but it
- 28:25Speaker 4: was I can focus in DC a little bit. I
- 28:27Speaker 4: couldn't focus in Toronto games.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that was one of my weaker weaker cities.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 28:35Speaker 1: It was so crazy as both y'all had popping teams
- 28:37Speaker 1: at the time. But the problem was there was this
- 28:39Speaker 1: person in the East, hard person to get around at
- 28:42Speaker 1: that time.
- 28:42Speaker 5: That yeah, Bro, I mean, I mean, I know J
- 28:45Speaker 5: T said it plenty of times. I said it plenty
- 28:47Speaker 5: of times, but yeah, that motherfucker was impossible to me.
- 28:50Speaker 5: That's just what it was like, you know what I mean,
- 28:53Speaker 5: Like it just it just you know ship it was.
- 28:57Speaker 5: It was no other way around it.
- 28:58Speaker 3: You don't think y'all could have had more peace and
- 29:00Speaker 3: could have gotta done.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Bro, No, you can do it.
- 29:03Speaker 5: I'm be honest. I'm being honest. Like, no, Bro, Bro
- 29:07Speaker 5: was just like at that time, like it's unbelievable. I
- 29:10Speaker 5: always I have arguments with people because it's like they
- 29:13Speaker 5: asked me what bron was the best, and it's like,
- 29:16Speaker 5: my that Miami bron in that second Cleveland bron Y.
- 29:20Speaker 1: That's my first time when he first went back to Cleveland,
- 29:23Speaker 1: that nigga was Bro.
- 29:24Speaker 5: It was it was bro. It was he controlled everything
- 29:28Speaker 5: from top to bottom. Man, Like it was when you
- 29:31Speaker 5: stepped on that floor, it was like it was it
- 29:34Speaker 5: was tough.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Bro. You gotta he wanted the Greats for a reason.
- 29:38Speaker 2: You know what. I Listen, man, I've never won a
- 29:40Speaker 2: playoff game against them.
- 29:42Speaker 3: We know.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I've been in fourth series with this man. I got
- 29:45Speaker 4: swept four times.
- 29:47Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I got a couple wins.
- 29:51Speaker 4: One time we was up thirty. I swear always up third.
- 29:53Speaker 4: That's played for the Pacers, the only way I played
- 29:55Speaker 4: for the player. We up thirty. Game three, I'm like,
- 29:58Speaker 4: I finally beat this dude.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Bro.
- 30:00Speaker 4: He walking in half. Tom said, we're good, We're good, Yard.
- 30:04Speaker 4: I keep their head up. They were down eight in
- 30:08Speaker 4: the third quarter. I looked at them.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Myself, it's.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Gonna beat us Spring. I'm doing everything about power. Look, Paul,
- 30:16Speaker 4: shoot the ball man, take us home.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I just want one win. I knew he wasn't gonna
- 30:21Speaker 2: beat him, but damn, I just want.
- 30:22Speaker 3: To Speaking about Lebron being tough, who's one of your
- 30:26Speaker 3: tough matchups one on one.
- 30:29Speaker 5: Outside of you, of course, outside of Bron, Like just
- 30:32Speaker 5: one on one h ooh he had that two yeah
- 30:38Speaker 5: kill bro.
- 30:42Speaker 2: D Wade. M hmm.
- 30:44Speaker 5: But I think somebody that was like, really really tough
- 30:46Speaker 5: that I like, I couldn't like like I had to
- 30:49Speaker 5: go head to head with was was Joe, Joe Johnson,
- 30:53Speaker 5: Daniel Johnson. Like I remember, my first Playoff series was
- 30:57Speaker 5: Verse Joe, and I got like every bit of io Joe,
- 31:02Speaker 5: especially at the time.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I'm young, and you know, ship.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Part of the part of the way I play now
- 31:08Speaker 5: is because of Joe, of how how slow he played
- 31:12Speaker 5: and he was in his body getting to the buck
- 31:14Speaker 5: getting to a spot, getting to the bucket, you know
- 31:16Speaker 5: what I.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Mean, Like, damn, I'll see that now. Yeah, you feel
- 31:18Speaker 2: me like a lot of a lot of like a
- 31:20Speaker 2: lot of that ship.
- 31:21Speaker 5: How I play now I get from fucking Joe, all
- 31:23Speaker 5: that methodic driven getting to a spot, like bodying all that.
- 31:28Speaker 5: I got that ship from Joe because I never forget
- 31:30Speaker 5: my first Playoff game. I went home that it was
- 31:33Speaker 5: an early game. I went home that that evening and
- 31:37Speaker 5: I was I was in pain. It felt like I
- 31:39Speaker 5: got jumped by ten niggas, just like banging with them
- 31:42Speaker 5: the whole game, you know what I mean, Because that's
- 31:44Speaker 5: how physical he was.
- 31:45Speaker 2: And just getting to a spot. So Joe was always tough,
- 31:48Speaker 2: Like Joe, Joe definitely was tough for me.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Did you always have that mini in your game? Was
- 31:54Speaker 3: that always your go to the MIDI because you didn't
- 31:57Speaker 3: be the best mini to me? Six rip Himmelson.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You know my my.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Rookie year, Alex Alex English was my one of the
- 32:07Speaker 5: assistant coaches. People who don't know those jerseys. So this
- 32:14Speaker 5: a little like just a just just a little like
- 32:18Speaker 5: you know, fun fact like people don't know. I used
- 32:22Speaker 5: to always like sit and listen to Alex talk, and
- 32:27Speaker 5: you know, you look him up. He was top fifty
- 32:30Speaker 5: greatest of all time. And he used to show me
- 32:34Speaker 5: how he used to score at the elbow all the
- 32:38Speaker 5: time by just one dribble pull up, shooting over mother,
- 32:42Speaker 5: one dribble right, one dribble left, whatever it may be,
- 32:44Speaker 5: I'm shooting over these like And I was so amazed
- 32:47Speaker 5: by how simple he kept the game and was able
- 32:50Speaker 5: just to get buckets. And that always stuck with me.
- 32:53Speaker 5: And he was just always once you master this and
- 32:55Speaker 5: get great at these positions on the floor where no
- 32:58Speaker 5: matter what shot you shoot, knowing that nobody could block it,
- 33:01Speaker 5: you're gonna become unstoppable. And that ship always stuck with me,
- 33:04Speaker 5: and I always paid attention to that, like, man, whatever
- 33:07Speaker 5: I do, I gotta make sure I get I gotta
- 33:09Speaker 5: get this anything within a three. I gotta get that
- 33:12Speaker 5: ship together. And that's how I looked at it.
- 33:14Speaker 4: And that ship is more than that ship is my bucket.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Every time every time you shoot that ship, bro, I'm like,
- 33:20Speaker 4: that's good. You started faking everything. He's still gonna hit
- 33:24Speaker 4: that ship is amazing, Brocause what's so amazing about it?
- 33:27Speaker 2: They tried to take that shot out the game and
- 33:30Speaker 2: like for you to still like master that shot like
- 33:33Speaker 2: it was a year.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Like it was a year where like they came to
- 33:37Speaker 5: me and said, you have to shoot more threes, like
- 33:39Speaker 5: you gotta do this and this, And it was like
- 33:42Speaker 5: I'm like why, Like I really like it was a
- 33:45Speaker 5: year when I was a straight dickhead when it came
- 33:48Speaker 5: to that, I'm like why, Like nobody can stop me
- 33:52Speaker 5: doing this?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Why do you want me to stop doing this? You
- 33:54Speaker 2: know what I mean? Analytics? I hate it.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Like when when that analytics shit started coming in a game,
- 34:00Speaker 5: it used to make me so mad because not just
- 34:02Speaker 5: for myself, even early on in my career, I used
- 34:05Speaker 5: to look at it like, Yo, what you're telling people
- 34:08Speaker 5: that what you're telling these youngest that's coming up that
- 34:11Speaker 5: need to learn the fundamentals of the game. You know
- 34:13Speaker 5: what I mean, it's inside out, not outside in how
- 34:17Speaker 5: the game is played, like understand because yes, you feel
- 34:21Speaker 5: me Like yeah, So it's like it's like that's my
- 34:26Speaker 5: philosophy to where it's like, yo, it's bigger than just
- 34:29Speaker 5: me how I view the game, to where it's like
- 34:32Speaker 5: I want people to understand, like this is the art
- 34:35Speaker 5: of basketball. This is the art of what the game
- 34:38Speaker 5: was built on. Like everybody can't be a Steph Curry,
- 34:41Speaker 5: and that's fine. Steph is Steph for a reason. Everybody
- 34:44Speaker 5: can't be everybody can't, but everybody can master spots when
- 34:48Speaker 5: it comes to this game and build off that. Everybody's
- 34:51Speaker 5: not gonna be shooting thirty thirty five footers every every
- 34:53Speaker 5: time that you do it the best.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Though, Bro averaging, Damn, they're a dub over dub all midies.
- 35:00Speaker 3: That's crazy. Bro, you didn't don't have no three. Bro
- 35:03Speaker 3: when I played too bad. Let's take a track.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Let me.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Freak thump me.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Bro, don't shoot threes.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Don't shoot threes and cold though ship is unstoppable.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I want to talk about Shoo three. I've seen him.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Want to beat the Paters a couple of years ago
- 35:27Speaker 1: off of NICs Ass three.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, but I'm saying he got it now.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Yeah, But I never wanted to like abuse it, like
- 35:34Speaker 5: like I seen Jordan's say some Ship a long time ago.
- 35:37Speaker 5: It's like I never wanted to get comfortable with the
- 35:40Speaker 5: three because it takes my aggressiveness in the mid range
- 35:44Speaker 5: and get into the basket away, you know what I mean.
- 35:46Speaker 5: It's easy to fall a victim, especially with me, like
- 35:49Speaker 5: I try to be I try to practice perfection when
- 35:52Speaker 5: I go out there and play in a sense of
- 35:53Speaker 5: like I'm not gonna shoot bad shots, and I'm like
- 35:58Speaker 5: I have a goal in my head always shoot above
- 36:01Speaker 5: fifty percent no matter what, you know what I mean,
- 36:03Speaker 5: Like I never want to be forty percent shoot Like,
- 36:07Speaker 5: I really try to master my spot so when when
- 36:10Speaker 5: in game it becomes it becomes natural to me.
- 36:12Speaker 4: No, you you can tell that you like love your
- 36:16Speaker 4: craft though, Like I was the one I ain't gonna lie.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I played around with my craft. I had a good time.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Like ship, I'm a hoop. I just loop naturally. That's
- 36:25Speaker 4: what we do in Indiana. It wouldn't like, hey, go
- 36:28Speaker 4: to the gym. It's like ship. I just naturally can
- 36:30Speaker 4: hoop like I could tell like when I I even
- 36:33Speaker 4: like I watch you on YouTube with Dribble too much.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I watched that.
- 36:36Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I wish I would have Like I
- 36:41Speaker 4: ain't trained with nobody. I trained with my niggas trying
- 36:44Speaker 4: to rebound quick like you know, ain't read the.
- 36:48Speaker 2: First job you want the first stretch for it. I
- 36:55Speaker 2: was you get my own rebel down Georgia.
- 37:06Speaker 1: He's with George Hill in high school. Man, Georgia will
- 37:08Speaker 1: average thirty yeight he everage fat.
- 37:12Speaker 3: No let the SiGe for you. That was been like
- 37:14Speaker 3: this too. This is about the orn. It's still crazy, man.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But one of my favorite parts about your game is like,
- 37:27Speaker 1: obviously you go crazy in the league, but to see
- 37:30Speaker 1: you go back home and play in the drew every
- 37:31Speaker 1: summer and like really get to it, like y'all really
- 37:34Speaker 1: be battling that also congrassed by the wait you know
- 37:36Speaker 1: what I'm saying, But for whole fans, like like we
- 37:41Speaker 1: love basketball, to see you hoop in the summer, like
- 37:43Speaker 1: for y'all to really pull up there and really go crazy,
- 37:45Speaker 1: that ship is fire man.
- 37:46Speaker 5: You know it's crazy for me, Bro, It's like It's
- 37:49Speaker 5: a sentimental thing because you know, my dad used to
- 37:54Speaker 5: take me to Julie when I was like when I
- 37:56Speaker 5: was young, even before I started playing to where. I
- 37:59Speaker 5: just remember when day he picked me up. I mean
- 38:01Speaker 5: we left the house one day and he's like, man,
- 38:04Speaker 5: bring bring your basketball shit. He took me to Juliet
- 38:07Speaker 5: I was fourteen, fifteen years old, said go out there
- 38:10Speaker 5: and play grown ass men. I'm like, what I guess
- 38:16Speaker 5: my dad told everybody, all the growning don't take it
- 38:18Speaker 5: easy on me, go out there, give him the work.
- 38:21Speaker 5: And I had to compete, but it gave me a
- 38:23Speaker 5: mental edge when I go out there and play with them.
- 38:25Speaker 5: When I go play people my age, it's like fuck
- 38:28Speaker 5: that these these motherfuckers can't fuck with me. I'm playing
- 38:31Speaker 5: against grown men that they kids sitting on the sideline,
- 38:35Speaker 5: you know what I mean. So it was always something
- 38:37Speaker 5: that was like made me feel good because it gave
- 38:41Speaker 5: me like an internal confidence that I could do this.
- 38:44Speaker 5: Then it's in a hood too, like all the hood
- 38:48Speaker 5: motherfucker's coming out here and all the old heads and
- 38:50Speaker 5: they and they respecting you and taking you in. So
- 38:53Speaker 5: me getting in a position of being somebody that people
- 38:56Speaker 5: look up to like it's like mandatory for me to
- 38:59Speaker 5: do it, because it's like, you never know that one
- 39:01Speaker 5: kid that's sitting in here, I could be his hope,
- 39:04Speaker 5: just to want to make it out, you know what
- 39:05Speaker 5: I mean. It's motherfuckers in here who probably never even
- 39:08Speaker 5: been to the Stables Center, you know what I mean
- 39:10Speaker 5: being able to see a basketball game. They can come
- 39:13Speaker 5: out here for free and watch me play like it's
- 39:15Speaker 5: something I take serious too, you know what I mean.
- 39:17Speaker 5: I remember, I remember I brought one of my old teammates.
- 39:22Speaker 5: I think it was Jared Jay. I think I brought
- 39:23Speaker 5: him playing to Julieu one one time with me years ago.
- 39:27Speaker 5: In the middle of the game, I think we was
- 39:29Speaker 5: about to get in I'm about to get a fight
- 39:30Speaker 5: with somebody and all this. Jack leaned over and said,
- 39:33Speaker 5: why are you taking this ship so serious? And to me,
- 39:36Speaker 5: it's like, Yo, this ship is serious to me. You know,
- 39:38Speaker 5: it's like it's like my rep on the line for here,
- 39:42Speaker 5: Like I don't play around with this so like that's
- 39:46Speaker 5: why when you see me playing it, like I take
- 39:47Speaker 5: I take that ship.
- 39:50Speaker 2: That's that's why I ain't never play I take it.
- 39:55Speaker 2: It's heavy, like even even out of the day, like
- 39:59Speaker 2: I'm hooping out of the day.
- 40:00Speaker 5: It's like, you know, niggas on the other team talking shit,
- 40:02Speaker 5: and it's like, you know, I don't look at it
- 40:04Speaker 5: like nigga, you know who the fuck I am? Like, yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 5: talk your ship, but I'm I'm gonna show you why
- 40:08Speaker 5: I come here all the time, you know for sure.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Man, It's crazy because like y'all don't have some moments
- 40:13Speaker 1: in there, but one I don't think get spoken enough.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I think it was maybe last year before that, bro,
- 40:17Speaker 2: you and Brian Yeah on the NBA ad.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Bro.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we all watched the Kobe We all watched. But
- 40:24Speaker 1: to see that happen in the progression of the drill
- 40:25Speaker 1: for y'all had that moment, that's hard. It inspires people outside,
- 40:29Speaker 1: like everybody looked at like we can't wait to see that.
- 40:31Speaker 5: Yeah, and that it was crazy, Like even shout out
- 40:34Speaker 5: to Bron doing that. You know, he definitely a real
- 40:36Speaker 5: one for that because you know, he hit me like
- 40:39Speaker 5: it was the middle of the night, probably like it
- 40:41Speaker 5: was like a week before I had I had played
- 40:43Speaker 5: in and Brian had hit me. Was like, man, what's
- 40:44Speaker 5: up when you're playing and Drew again, I'm like next week,
- 40:46Speaker 5: I'm like fucking come fuck me, like come fuck with me.
- 40:49Speaker 5: So all right, man, I'm gonna come fuck with you.
- 40:52Speaker 5: So I'm thinking like he probably forget that, he got busy.
- 40:55Speaker 5: It was like a night before that. The following week,
- 40:59Speaker 5: it's like we're time to get blah blah blah. Alright,
- 41:01Speaker 5: bet I'm pulling up and I think I had tweeted
- 41:04Speaker 5: like Debo and like the Crown or whatever. Pulled up
- 41:07Speaker 5: and just to see how like electrified the city was. Bro,
- 41:10Speaker 5: just to see like little like my thing. I'm big
- 41:12Speaker 5: on looking in the crowd and seeing like kids reaction,
- 41:16Speaker 5: you know what I mean, seeing those like like like
- 41:19Speaker 5: like they've just seen a ghost. Like to me, that's
- 41:22Speaker 5: the ship that makes it feel like, Yo, this ship
- 41:24Speaker 5: is always bigger than basketball because these these kids carrying
- 41:28Speaker 5: this shit like forever, you know what I mean, Like
- 41:31Speaker 5: they're gonna remember this moment. And for Bro to do that, man,
- 41:35Speaker 5: that shit was like that shit was amazing, you know
- 41:37Speaker 5: what I mean, especially like, you know, shit twenty years
- 41:40Speaker 5: in years, four years, how big is to come out
- 41:43Speaker 5: there in the in the hood and who and the
- 41:47Speaker 5: game was cracking too, Like it was like they took
- 41:51Speaker 5: us down to the wire like they was out there
- 41:53Speaker 5: talking shit all that. So, man, that shit was a
- 41:57Speaker 5: probably you know, my second favorite fame favorite mote moment
- 42:02Speaker 5: outside of when Cole play Cob always gonna be my
- 42:06Speaker 5: number one whenever.
- 42:07Speaker 2: But what when Brian did that ship man? That ship
- 42:10Speaker 2: that was some real ship man.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Let me ask you this then, because I remember I
- 42:14Speaker 4: said that I said something out of pocket about Cold,
- 42:19Speaker 4: because I said what I say.
- 42:22Speaker 3: James, Remember said James Harden was better.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I said, James Harden scored a little better than Cold
- 42:30Speaker 2: was out of pocket.
- 42:32Speaker 5: No, like James Harden scored that most. I've told somebody
- 42:37Speaker 5: this multiple times. The run James had, it's crazy. Come on, bro,
- 42:41Speaker 5: The run James had was fucking like that ain't even
- 42:45Speaker 5: a video game.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Was crazy.
- 42:47Speaker 2: That ship was like some fucking like space jam. Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 5: I mean, because like if you didn't watch the game,
- 42:54Speaker 5: you just knew when you checked the box score it
- 42:57Speaker 5: was gonna be something fucking crazy.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Forty forty forty five.
- 43:02Speaker 5: Fifteen to sist ten rebounds Like that run he had, Bro,
- 43:07Speaker 5: that ship was fucking incredible, and how he did it.
- 43:10Speaker 5: The ship looked like it was with no effort.
- 43:13Speaker 2: That's what I was saying.
- 43:14Speaker 5: You see what I'm saying, So I got what you
- 43:17Speaker 5: was coming from from. From from that standpoint, I think
- 43:20Speaker 5: people react people's people is just so sensitive when it
- 43:23Speaker 5: comes to like certain people, certain ship. You really just
- 43:26Speaker 5: sit and think. Bro, that run James had BRO was
- 43:30Speaker 5: the most incredible ship like we we I ever seen.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Like it was crazy.
- 43:36Speaker 5: He would just literally come down court by by by
- 43:40Speaker 5: three five step three by by by hes he it
- 43:44Speaker 5: was it was fire like come on like it was incredible.
- 43:47Speaker 3: And don't forget Nigga was winning fifty games in the West,
- 43:51Speaker 3: in the West, and that's crazy who he was going against.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Bro.
- 43:54Speaker 2: He had to go against that prime warrior situation and
- 43:57Speaker 2: he was still going crazy.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Going Bro, that's the only thing I said. But I
- 44:01Speaker 4: got killed for that. But I think Kobe is phenomenal.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Like it's nothing like I know to love you and
- 44:06Speaker 4: respect you for coch but I just at that moment,
- 44:09Speaker 4: I'm like, what I had to play against James Bro
- 44:11Speaker 4: that but that that ship was different.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Bro, that's the thing.
- 44:15Speaker 5: Like it just like listen, you said, Kobe is my
- 44:19Speaker 5: goat all that everything, but it's like it's real, is real?
- 44:23Speaker 2: The ship James was doing. I don't think we ever
- 44:26Speaker 2: see that. All you want, we.
- 44:30Speaker 1: They try to they try to erase it with with Luca.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Obviously we know Luca, he liked it. But I'm like, nah, bro,
- 44:35Speaker 1: James had to do that against teams in the West
- 44:38Speaker 1: one it was I mean.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Them teams in the Rockets weren't that great. It was
- 44:41Speaker 2: a lot of James, Harden and everybody else just kind
- 44:43Speaker 2: of saying the corners of these series that man was on.
- 44:48Speaker 4: When I see when I seen somebody reguards to him
- 44:50Speaker 4: and stand behind him.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Stand behind gas, behind their back, I said, I don't
- 44:55Speaker 2: know what the is going on right here?
- 44:58Speaker 3: This is bad basketball.
- 44:59Speaker 2: But he that special where you can't even't know what
- 45:02Speaker 2: to do. Yeah, like you gotta go. I don't. I'm
- 45:04Speaker 2: trying something totally different. I'm just staying behind you. That's crazy.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Speaking on COVID, did you pull some of your feetwork
- 45:11Speaker 3: from him?
- 45:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I definitely got a lot of that came through
- 45:15Speaker 5: through conversations with him of just breaking down like he
- 45:19Speaker 5: was a big soccer fan, so he used to always,
- 45:22Speaker 5: you know, incorporate how soccer players move, how to use
- 45:26Speaker 5: their footwork to get leverage, quickness, and he always used
- 45:31Speaker 5: to tell me to watch you know, certain players like
- 45:33Speaker 5: you know, I came obviously the way he moved, but
- 45:36Speaker 5: also like the smaller guards, like like a fucking like
- 45:41Speaker 5: Andre Miller for example, you know what I mean, legend
- 45:44Speaker 5: not the fastest, not can't jump the highest then that,
- 45:48Speaker 5: but he knew how to maneuver in small places to
- 45:51Speaker 5: be able to get a shot off or get to
- 45:53Speaker 5: the bucket and everything.
- 45:54Speaker 2: So I used to I used to start.
- 45:56Speaker 5: I started paying attention to like a lot of of
- 45:59Speaker 5: the D and them players in a sense that you know,
- 46:02Speaker 5: probably don't have the big notoriety as everybody else, you
- 46:05Speaker 5: know what I mean. And took a lot of stuff
- 46:07Speaker 5: from him. Another person who helped me with my fullwork
- 46:10Speaker 5: shit was like Sam could sell you know what I mean.
- 46:13Speaker 5: When I was fifteen, like used to be around Sam,
- 46:16Speaker 5: and Sam always used to preach to me about certain
- 46:20Speaker 5: ways how to shoot the turn around, how to get
- 46:22Speaker 5: your feet leverage a certain type of way, you know
- 46:24Speaker 5: what I mean. Learn from him, and learn from fucking
- 46:26Speaker 5: Catino Mowgli how to get your shots, you know what
- 46:29Speaker 5: I mean. It's certain players that I took so much from,
- 46:33Speaker 5: like incorporated. But Cole wasn't one to put the like
- 46:37Speaker 5: the the notion in it too. You know you master this,
- 46:42Speaker 5: Like basically, he always used to tell me, learn how
- 46:44Speaker 5: to play in a phone booth.
- 46:46Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 46:47Speaker 5: If you could be if you know how to master
- 46:49Speaker 5: how to create shots from a phone booth, you're good,
- 46:52Speaker 5: you know what I mean. So he used to talk
- 46:53Speaker 5: a lot of fucking codes. He used to take some
- 46:55Speaker 5: time to figure out. But when I figure it out
- 46:58Speaker 5: and the light bulb off, I know I had something.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't just spoken enough. How good your footwork is?
- 47:04Speaker 2: Bro?
- 47:05Speaker 3: So I had to ask.
- 47:06Speaker 1: And that's the fire part. When you hear players like
- 47:08Speaker 1: you and your caliber speaking like you. When you hear
- 47:10Speaker 1: people like yeah, it's cool to but like now, but
- 47:13Speaker 1: you always speak on the players like okay, everybody may
- 47:15Speaker 1: not speak on his name, but like I learned something
- 47:18Speaker 1: from this player that's pivotal to my game.
- 47:20Speaker 4: That's like Tony Parker. His footwork was crazy. It's crazy,
- 47:24Speaker 4: but it's like my hole on and off the court.
- 47:26Speaker 2: No, no, it's just just on the court. On the court,
- 47:30Speaker 2: shout to TP.
- 47:32Speaker 5: I learned from all the motherfuckers, man, Like I really
- 47:35Speaker 5: became like a student of the game and just watch
- 47:38Speaker 5: motherfuckers rather if it was a slow motherfucker fast mouth
- 47:41Speaker 5: quick and just try to take take ship from him
- 47:43Speaker 5: from him and try to incorporate it, you know, into
- 47:46Speaker 5: my game.
- 47:47Speaker 4: You one of the best scores, like you, like we're
- 47:50Speaker 4: talking about phone booth scores, like you mellow on those guys, Kobe,
- 47:54Speaker 4: Like y'all can get y'all shot off at any point,
- 47:57Speaker 4: Like I always say that, Like that's why I said
- 47:59Speaker 4: when we was gonna play, gonna send doubles. But it
- 48:01Speaker 4: was like, it don't matter where you at on the floor.
- 48:04Speaker 4: I know you can get a shot off, like that's
- 48:07Speaker 4: you know, but you it's never a shot clock violation.
- 48:10Speaker 4: Like with me, I used to get shot ced like you.
- 48:13Speaker 4: I'm like, he ain't getting no shot clock violets. You
- 48:15Speaker 4: know how to get a shot off, That's that's like
- 48:18Speaker 4: tough to do. That's what I think about you, James.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Same thing with Melo cole kd y'all le scores. Like
- 48:26Speaker 4: when I hear people talking about one of the least
- 48:28Speaker 4: scores in the league, your name should be talking about
- 48:30Speaker 4: a lot more.
- 48:31Speaker 5: I appreciate that because you know it's definitely one thing,
- 48:34Speaker 5: like you know that you know, they get overlooked for
- 48:39Speaker 5: whatever reason, you know what I mean. I heard somebody
- 48:40Speaker 5: on the podcast say some ship I wouldn't to score
- 48:43Speaker 5: and all this, and it's just like, you know, it's like,
- 48:45Speaker 5: come on, how many points you up? It's only probably
- 48:48Speaker 5: I think thirty people in the history basketball got more
- 48:51Speaker 5: points than me.
- 48:52Speaker 2: So it's like, come on, balance me, like you know
- 48:56Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 48:56Speaker 5: So it's like, you know, it's it's one of those
- 48:58Speaker 5: things like when it comes to it, like you just
- 49:01Speaker 5: check the facts on.
- 49:02Speaker 3: It, you know what I mean, when it comes to that,
- 49:04Speaker 3: and that's crazy thing to say about you. Yeah, I
- 49:07Speaker 3: put that up. That's why I'm he's buckets around, you
- 49:12Speaker 3: know what it is. That's the crazy ship to say
- 49:14Speaker 3: about Broun. It's like, Broun don't really score, bro, he
- 49:15Speaker 3: got the most buckets ever. How you're gonna say the
- 49:17Speaker 3: nigga not to score. He got the most buckets ever.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Bro.
- 49:21Speaker 2: People just say that just it's just show me how
- 49:24Speaker 2: stupid they are, you know what I mean, Like, come on, man,
- 49:27Speaker 2: you get buckets, bro, that's you got buckets your whole career.
- 49:30Speaker 4: Though it ain't like it's just ain't like you always
- 49:34Speaker 4: that's the ship that throws me off, like y'all like
- 49:36Speaker 4: like it's something new, like you always got buckets. Like
- 49:40Speaker 4: it's kind of funny when I because when I heard
- 49:42Speaker 4: somebody said on the podcast, I was like, huh, like
- 49:46Speaker 4: come on if you would to say, yo, he don't
- 49:47Speaker 4: pass like you don't get assists like that.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I'm like, when you're gonna look at the status, it's like,
- 49:57Speaker 1: how bro, you know how people play in this league?
- 49:59Speaker 1: And he so he topped in the league like.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Like it didn't even want like I couldn't even like
- 50:06Speaker 2: comment on it.
- 50:07Speaker 5: I just thought it was like it was beyond funny
- 50:10Speaker 5: to me, Like it's just like I guess anybody with
- 50:12Speaker 5: a microphone can say whatever whatever they want to these day.
- 50:15Speaker 2: That was crazy your bucket.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I gotta ask, how was that transition going from Toronto
- 50:23Speaker 1: to San Antonio?
- 50:25Speaker 2: Man, it was.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Tough because obviously everybody know like I wanted to be there.
- 50:30Speaker 5: I wanted I wanted to stay there everything you know, ship,
- 50:35Speaker 5: you know, that was that was home. So you know,
- 50:37Speaker 5: getting traded the way with down, you know, that part
- 50:43Speaker 5: hurt more than anything. Then you know, when I finally
- 50:46Speaker 5: calmed down and realized, like, shit, I'm going to San Antonio.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Damn what they say about City Born blah blah blah.
- 50:52Speaker 5: It's like, yeah, I'm playing for Pop. It's her like
- 50:55Speaker 5: fucking coach Pop, Like you know what I mean? And
- 50:57Speaker 5: what's crazy? When I got traded, I didn't talk to
- 50:59Speaker 5: nobody for like fucking two weeks. I wouldn't answer my phone.
- 51:02Speaker 5: I was mad as shit, like I'm I was. I
- 51:07Speaker 5: was in my feelings. I was like, man, I was,
- 51:10Speaker 5: I was. I was hurt and I ain't gonna lie.
- 51:13Speaker 5: But Pop had called me out the blue and just
- 51:15Speaker 5: was like, look, we didn't trade you.
- 51:17Speaker 2: We traded for you.
- 51:19Speaker 5: Like and when I let let that sink in, I'm like, god, damn,
- 51:22Speaker 5: he got a fucking point like all right, Like and
- 51:26Speaker 5: just to like be underneath Pop, to hear like the
- 51:31Speaker 5: game from him, the way he just took me in
- 51:34Speaker 5: and accepted me more than just a basketball player, like
- 51:37Speaker 5: to help with the transition, Like I like, I cherished
- 51:40Speaker 5: that shit forever, man, because it was something I needed
- 51:43Speaker 5: in my career at the time, because I'm looking you know,
- 51:46Speaker 5: I'm looking at the game one way my whole time,
- 51:49Speaker 5: and you know, my nine years in Toronto, I'm thinking, just,
- 51:51Speaker 5: you know, just go out there, shoot the ball thirty times,
- 51:56Speaker 5: try to get a win.
- 51:56Speaker 2: If I don't, if I don't, if I shoot bad,
- 51:59Speaker 2: at least I try.
- 52:00Speaker 5: With Pop, it was more so like how can you
- 52:03Speaker 5: make everybody else around you better and with that make
- 52:07Speaker 5: it easier on myself. So Pop always used to tell me,
- 52:10Speaker 5: give me three and a half quarters of playing this way,
- 52:14Speaker 5: the rest is you. And with that it made the
- 52:17Speaker 5: game more fun because now I'm getting everybody involved, making
- 52:20Speaker 5: it easier doing this. But when it was time to win,
- 52:23Speaker 5: it was like, go win the game, you know what
- 52:25Speaker 5: I mean. And it gave me a different outlook on
- 52:28Speaker 5: just how to incorporate use the game, use your teammates,
- 52:33Speaker 5: get everybody involved, and find the rhythm of the game
- 52:36Speaker 5: that way. Like my first my first shoot around with Pop,
- 52:39Speaker 5: I remember he said, man, tomorrow, you the point guard.
- 52:43Speaker 5: I ain't never played point guard day in my career,
- 52:45Speaker 5: and it's like he telling me I'm the point guard.
- 52:47Speaker 5: But I think that whole week, I think I averaged
- 52:50Speaker 5: like like damn near thirteen fourteen assists, you know what
- 52:52Speaker 5: I mean.
- 52:53Speaker 2: But he'd do shit like that to challenge you to
- 52:56Speaker 2: show you that you can do it, you know what
- 52:58Speaker 2: I mean, and that that was something definitely needed for sure.
- 53:01Speaker 1: You heard a lot of good reviews from players about
- 53:04Speaker 1: coach Propert. Then it's so dope to see now like
- 53:06Speaker 1: he got wimby. Yes, like we know he's gonna be
- 53:09Speaker 1: for sure anyway, but he got popped. Like he's the
- 53:11Speaker 1: next superstar for sure.
- 53:13Speaker 5: For sure, he definitely gonna learn. I mean, you see
- 53:16Speaker 5: it now, even just how he was playing the Olympics,
- 53:18Speaker 5: like the way he played in the championship game, you
- 53:21Speaker 5: know what I mean, Like he's still a kid, bro,
- 53:24Speaker 5: But I guarantee you he was on the phone with
- 53:26Speaker 5: Pop that night this you know what I mean, Pop
- 53:28Speaker 5: giving him some type of you know, inside and knowledge
- 53:31Speaker 5: on how to carry that. Now, watch how he beat
- 53:33Speaker 5: this year.
- 53:34Speaker 1: It's about to get spooky. And he got feet on there.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Yeah spoky, bros. Yeah, this shit looked like a video game. Nah, bro,
- 53:44Speaker 1: Like I've never like we played them this year. I
- 53:47Speaker 1: swear I had a drive to the lane. He I'm
- 53:51Speaker 1: on one side of the key, he on the other side.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I stopped for the layup and pulled it back out.
- 53:57Speaker 1: He was on the other side of the key. He
- 53:59Speaker 1: wasn't even like but I just knew he had the
- 54:02Speaker 1: recovery length to be able to fucking block whatever I
- 54:04Speaker 1: throw up. Crazy, I'm talking about you. You just looking
- 54:08Speaker 1: in an eye, Bro, you gonna know like he he
- 54:11Speaker 1: gonna be one of.
- 54:12Speaker 2: The ones for sure. Oh yeah, we never seen nothing
- 54:15Speaker 2: like him? No, hell no like KD.
- 54:19Speaker 4: What I seen KD I was I've never seen nothing
- 54:21Speaker 4: like seven can do all that stuff. He four or
- 54:24Speaker 4: five inches tall and KD.
- 54:27Speaker 3: What a handle.
- 54:28Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Obviously you are student in the game. Who are some
- 54:31Speaker 1: of the young players in the league that you know
- 54:33Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Take a notice or take a liking too.
- 54:36Speaker 2: That's a hell of a question because I think you know,
- 54:42Speaker 2: like how young are you talking? Like? Whatever?
- 54:44Speaker 5: Whoever, let's do John, Okay, Like those guys, I think
- 54:50Speaker 5: they're gonna carry this lead to you know where it
- 54:53Speaker 5: needs to be. You know what I mean when you
- 54:54Speaker 5: look at the job the Lucas, it's all those guys
- 54:57Speaker 5: they like beyond special man, Like you know, I'd be glad.
- 55:01Speaker 5: I'd be glad when you know John get back healthy,
- 55:03Speaker 5: he get back on the floor, because you know, the
- 55:05Speaker 5: game is that much more exciting when those when those
- 55:08Speaker 5: players are healthy, you know what I mean, Like, you know,
- 55:10Speaker 5: I hate that he wasn't out there to do, you know,
- 55:13Speaker 5: to be a part of you know, all this, Like
- 55:15Speaker 5: it's it's amazing to see just being a fan of
- 55:18Speaker 5: like all these guys that come in to lead that
- 55:21Speaker 5: you know, you see him as kids one year and
- 55:23Speaker 5: the next year fucking you know, they hold swag change
- 55:27Speaker 5: you see, you know what I mean, They carrying their.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Their own aura.
- 55:33Speaker 5: So you know, my favorite players is obviously like John
- 55:36Speaker 5: Luca fucking you know, I don't know if JT is
- 55:39Speaker 5: Jason still a fucking and.
- 55:43Speaker 2: That's one of my favorites.
- 55:44Speaker 5: And from Compton Listen, I don't know him personally like that,
- 55:50Speaker 5: but the times I didn't play it. I remember I
- 55:52Speaker 5: played against ant this year and like the dog he
- 55:56Speaker 5: got in him. I remember jump ball, He's still right
- 55:59Speaker 5: next to me. He he guarded me. I'm like, yo,
- 56:02Speaker 5: Like he take on all these fucking challenges and I
- 56:05Speaker 5: respect that from a young and like that, you know
- 56:07Speaker 5: what I mean, Like like you see the dog in
- 56:10Speaker 5: him and obviously you see it with the Olympic team and.
- 56:13Speaker 2: What he gonna be come next season. Is like that ship.
- 56:17Speaker 5: I know what playing in the Olympics do for a
- 56:19Speaker 5: player like that, shit takes you to a whole another
- 56:22Speaker 5: level mentally, physically, emotionally, like you feel like you that
- 56:26Speaker 5: especially being around them those other eleven guys. So like
- 56:30Speaker 5: those like definitely and one of my favorites. So I
- 56:34Speaker 5: think those guys gonna carry the league to where it
- 56:36Speaker 5: needs to be for sure.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Man, you know what I'm saying. Obviously, you know a
- 56:39Speaker 1: new situation is summer Congress on that as well. Appreciate
- 56:41Speaker 1: you're playing with another young dog as well. I don't
- 56:43Speaker 1: know if it's too young the Fox.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that was part of the reason, you know,
- 56:48Speaker 2: even making making that decision the Fox. In my career.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Man, they do that fast listen, fastest ship, fastest ship.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Like he put me on the bench.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Man. See, that's the first time I said, you know,
- 57:02Speaker 2: I think I want to come off the bench.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Man.
- 57:04Speaker 2: They want to come against man. I was like, yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 2: I think we'll come off the bench. I was like, yeah, Minnesota,
- 57:13Speaker 2: I think you could probably start Jones.
- 57:17Speaker 5: Nah, yeah, I think that situation, you know, I came.
- 57:21Speaker 5: It came out of nowhere after you know, season was over,
- 57:23Speaker 5: when free agency hit. You know, I know it was
- 57:25Speaker 5: a bunch of other options, but you know, when I
- 57:28Speaker 5: just sat back and like realized, like, you know, what
- 57:31Speaker 5: the team needed, what they had, what they was fighting for,
- 57:34Speaker 5: and how bad they want to win, you know, it
- 57:37Speaker 5: just fit the mold that you know, I want to
- 57:38Speaker 5: be a part of. And you know, just being able
- 57:40Speaker 5: to play with those guys, you know, I'm looking forward
- 57:43Speaker 5: to it. You know, a monk, sir, hurry. You know,
- 57:47Speaker 5: it's it's a lot of it's a lot of those
- 57:49Speaker 5: guys that that that's special, you know, and and I
- 57:53Speaker 5: really want to be a part of that. I feel like,
- 57:55Speaker 5: you know I could, I definitely can help. When did
- 57:57Speaker 5: your game start transitioning? Because to me, I could be wrong,
- 58:01Speaker 5: but I feel like when you first came to the league,
- 58:03Speaker 5: he was a high flyer.
- 58:04Speaker 3: I was, yeah, and then you turned it. I'm not
- 58:07Speaker 3: saying you dumbed your game down, but you brought to
- 58:09Speaker 3: like ship, I'm gonna shoot these minies and when what
- 58:12Speaker 3: you're that like, I'm abo to stop dunking on niggas
- 58:15Speaker 3: because I'm trying to I ain't trying to be like
- 58:16Speaker 3: Jeff T and these be all fucked up wanted to
- 58:20Speaker 3: keep going years and years.
- 58:21Speaker 2: You know what I mean? What's what's crazy? Twenty thirteen?
- 58:25Speaker 2: No shame he trying to dunk on everybody. Jeff had
- 58:32Speaker 2: hots my life like motherfucker, you.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Know what I'm saying. But he didn't want to stop.
- 58:37Speaker 3: He didn't know he was a jabblwalking through his whole career.
- 58:43Speaker 2: What's up?
- 58:45Speaker 5: What's crazy? That's a great question. Twenty thirteen. I had
- 58:50Speaker 5: tored my growing I like off the bone. It was
- 58:55Speaker 5: like six six, seven games in the season. I just
- 58:59Speaker 5: trying to turn the corner with the ball slipped toward
- 59:01Speaker 5: my whole groun, and like I was so worried because
- 59:06Speaker 5: I'm like, man, we're finally getting good. I think the
- 59:09Speaker 5: year before I had made All Star. So I'm like, man,
- 59:12Speaker 5: funk I'm trying to do. I didn't want to be
- 59:15Speaker 5: a one time All Star type of nigga, you know,
- 59:18Speaker 5: like like.
- 59:22Speaker 6: To tell your story. I know niggas gonne share the shark,
- 59:28Speaker 6: tell your side of the story.
- 59:41Speaker 5: This is about the ad.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Y'all.
- 59:47Speaker 3: Come on, man, tell your story.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Bro.
- 59:49Speaker 5: I'm bad, jam bad, Bro, my bad. I ain't I
- 59:53Speaker 5: didn't even think about it, bro.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Listen. That was funny, that's good. I didn't want to
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: be a one time All Star.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: At the time, I was so thirsty, like I was
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: so mad at getting hurt to where it was like
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: six seven game in the season. So when I tore
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: my growing, I'm thinking they talked about surgery and all
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: this shit. So I'm like, man, hell no, I ain't
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: trying to miss the season all this shit, so I'm
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: doing it whatever I possibly can to see how fast
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: I could get back. So I ended up doing like
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: the PRP shit, you know, rehab. I think I missed
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: twenty two games. So I kind of rushed myself back,
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: thinking like, fuck it, I can still make All Star.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: We still was winning, let me, let me get back
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: out here and started killing. So when I started back playing,
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: I wasn't right for that next probably like two years.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Nobody knew.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: I never said nothing, so that made me scared to
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: jump run fast, and that's when I started paying attention
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: to theygas like fucking Joe Johnson, fucking I remember. I
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: remember during that time, I sat there and watched those
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: two years of Michael Jordan playing for the Wizards. I said, oh,
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: I swear to god, I watched Jordans every game Jordan
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: played in a Wizard jersey.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, this.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: They said both his knees was fucked up, he couldn't move,
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: blah blah blah. So I'm I'm watching him from the
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: standpoint of like, how is he doing? What he doing?
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: He's still averaging twenty plus, still getting forty, but he
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: not yoused. He not athletic no more. He not the
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: old Jordan. So I watched so much in him. So
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: when I came back and started playing, I try to
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: play more that way to where I started to kind
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: of like master playing that way. And by the time
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: I got more healthy, my athletic ability and all that
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: was in case of emergency.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: So he's listening. He was watching niggas jump off the
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: rope and w w he watching the real field.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I want to enjoy my life. I like wrestling and ship.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: He watching m J. I don't thought m J was
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: done looking at.
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: Different I'm done. I'm looking like Jordan. He looking at
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: the footwork.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Crazy now.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: But I wanted to talk about because I always want
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: I'm bro. I'm a fan bro for real. So I
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: watched everybody talk so highly of you, like Kobe White,
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: no younger Dayling Terry talk about how the leader you
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: was in Chicago, and it's like damn to hear him
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: speak about you like that, Like, bro, Tuck is under
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: his wing. He talks the ropes and didn't see like
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Kobe White, you know, had an up and down for
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: and then you get there and all sudden you see
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: him start growing and becoming basically to me, he's gonna
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: be one another star.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I see, I see him being an All Star. This
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: shit no question for me.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: It got to a point to when I start realizing,
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: like you know, I'm I'm getting older, especially when motherfucker
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: started calling me old head.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Damn shit, you know what I mean.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: That's why I started like I was dodging that ship
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: for for a long time, like niggas calling me o
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: g oh yeah, like until like I just finally like
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: accepted it in a sense to where it's like, y'all,
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: I really fuck with these young dudes, bro, because it's
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: like I really won't. I really want to see everybody
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: be successful and win, you know what I mean, Like
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: think about it, bro, Like sometimes I have moments where
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: I just sit up here and be like I'm from compting.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: I damned there made three hundred million dollars from playing basketball, damn,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: you know what I.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Mean, Like like they're like that ship. Let me.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: It's like it's like when I have those moments and
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: think about it, it's like, how how much of everything
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: I learned, the fails, the success, and everything that I
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: could give to these young guys that probably don't know it,
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: you know what I mean, the good the bad on
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: and off the court. And I really I really put
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: my all into all my teammates that I play with,
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: all these young dudes, because you know, I remember being
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: so blind when I was young, not knowing you know shit,
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: I remember I was a motherfucker going to the hotel room,
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: order fucking chicken tenders and wings and call it a
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: night to where it's like evens even now, it's like
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: I take all these young dudes to go eat at
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: these restaurants so they can see and understand something different.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: It ain't just hotel food that you can eat, you
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: know what I mean? Like I try to like expose
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: them to so much more that the world have to offer.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: Don't just be stuck in this one place. And you know,
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: once you free up a motherfucking mind to that aspect.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: It helps them with the confidence to help them with
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: the preparation. Especially with me, It's like all these all
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: these young niggas everybody I play with, see me after
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: a game if we on the road, first thing I do,
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: I get on the phone with my kids.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: I'm talking to my kids, hearing about my kids. They
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: doing this. I'm showing them the responsibilities.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: I still take take care of it on a daily
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: base and still be the first one on the bus,
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: still be the first one in the meeting, first one
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: in the gym, doing all this. And it's like any
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: any logical person who sees that will understand, like, damn,
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: that's that's thinking about it. Bro, I'm going to six
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: year sixteens crazy like still doing it to this level. Like,
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: you gotta be consistent. So I try to give the
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: game to all these youngins as best as I can. Bro,
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: You not every single day.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: You're doing a hell of a job.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: To see I'm just what I'm watching them as players grow,
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: and it's like, and they giving you that credit, It's like, damn,
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: BRO figured it out. But then to see your game though,
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: like to see you when we first in the league
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: to where you are now, You're like, yeah, he put
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: in the work and that time, and like you said,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: three hundred million, they pay off, Bro, that work and
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: to see I know what you're gonna do in Sack
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: with that same group, with them young guys who they
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: got a great team, You're gonna do the same thing.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: I see him having another great year and making some
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: noise in the West, for sure.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: It's crazy more years in the league, Bro, like for sixteen,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: but we can see you playing another five six years
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: level Like, that's the dope part about it and everything
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: that we learned. I think the best part that we
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: get to meet people and you see the difference of
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: people who pouring too that team. That's the points it
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: showing people more this outside of that. Those are the
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: ones you see that get the respect they get to
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: their careers and others kind of more sage. It's like,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: all right, the kind of fall by the wayside. So
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: it all makes sense, man, it all makes sense for me.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: Like, Bro, I always told myself, like, fuck the media,
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: fuck with people p and a gotta say after games
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: and all this. I always took the heart like if
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: my my peers respect me, all that matters. You feel
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: me like that's the only thing that matters as long
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: as I could walk in the gym and motherfuckers know, like, man,
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: like I fuck with d R D. Man, he gonna
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: compete or you gotta bring it like that's that's what
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: matters to me the most.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: You got that for sure.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Off basketball a little bit, man, I want to ask
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: you about Kendrick Ryan Man, what you're thinking about the
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: he came back, He put the city back, I mean
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: the head man.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I know, Drake your guy, but yeah, but I think
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: you know, even not my guy.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: But I think for me being on the inside, it's
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: never like it's not a surprise for me, right, I mean,
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: like it's it's like like I see Bro or talk
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: to Bro, like it's it's a normal thing, you know.
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: So it's like when you know a person and it's
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: like he he probably somewhere sitting in the room with
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: sage lit right now, not knowing what the fuck is
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: going on on the outside world of things, you know
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: what I mean, because he just he in tune or
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: whatever it is.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: He like he living his life, you know what I mean.
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: So like as a fan, you know, you you hype
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: to see it, But from my standpoint, you know, like, no, bro,
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: that's that's that's bro. So it's like when you see him,
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: it's kind of like you know, you see j T
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: go who in a Big Three, and it's like you're
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: really not surprised, you know he yeah, you know what
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: I like. So it's really not a surprise if you
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: go see him fucking going out there killing motherfucker's in
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: the Big Three, it's like.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Did you know he was gonna be a star or
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: had a feeling before, because of course you heard he
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: always was like different in ahead of his time and
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: and kind of like was a visionary with how he
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: approached and looked looked at things, you know what I mean,
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: And he always had that and a lot of times
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: I think as as just like a man.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: You see the growth and the failures that he he
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: took and had to accept and grow from, not just
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: fuck it just being about the rap part of it,
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: you know personally, you know, and you see the growth
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: in an individual, and you know, like we all know
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: he nice when it comes to you know, rapping, but
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: you know you've seen the growth from it, and you
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: know he put it in his art, you know what
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: I mean. I know a lot of people you know,
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: want to hear more from him all that, but to him,
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: it's like, you know, he put his life, he put
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: his life out there for us to understand, and sometimes
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: niggas got to go through ship to be able to put,
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: you know, our life out there and speak about some ship.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: So to me, it's just like, you know, it's cool
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: to see him out there, but it's more so like
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: cool just to see him, you know, and.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: And in the in the hill space mentally, you know
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Is that first album Top five.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: The first one one?
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, good, but that even that, it's like that's
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: such a storyline of you know what I mean, you
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: inside like so you do, but it's like that album.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Like the breakdown of it, it's like you walk Street.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: So it's like like vision and ship like when I
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: hear it, like I know exactly, like it's certain ship
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: he even say where it's like I may get it
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: more than everybody else, you know what I mean.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: But it's like it's definitely in my definitely my tip five.
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: What was that like though at that concert, Like yeah,
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: like you all y'all on stage, y'all on the whole
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: cality together.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: I mean, it was one of those things. I know,
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: people get so caught up and looking at the whole
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: beef part of it and everything.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: It's bigger than that though.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: It's so much bigger than that, because like it's a
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: lot of those dudes I know had problems with another dude,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: this hood, didn't get along with this hood, or or
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: it was it was some type of tension or friction,
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: or you haven't seen these sets of people around, this
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: set of people in X amount of time, and for
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: it to be a moment to be able to share
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: be shared in LA in the forum, to bring out
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: all of artists from like you know, from home, to
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: do that with no problem, no issues. Everybody get in
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: there with no arguments, no fights, no scuffles lead there,
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: everybody get home. It was like it was just a
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: different type of fucking like appreciation for one another, you
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: know what I mean. I know it's so easy to
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: get caught up in the whole beef part of it
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: and all that, but for us, it's just like it's
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: bigger than that, you know what I mean.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Music, if music could bring us together, it.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: Just show you how powerful we are as people that
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: if we just put all the fucking egos and all
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: that sensitive ship to the side, like we really could
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: come together and do something special, you know what I mean?
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: That was a moment too man like not even.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: To do that.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Brow lights get niggas that can go crazy in the
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: city like there to Toronto, bro, but that ain't speak even.
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: That, Like just how great the I know it's so
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: easy when people get caught up in the size and
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: all that.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: But it's like, I don't think Drake.
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: Still the phasing ship that Drake then did over what
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: the last fifteen years, nothing nothing could ever take.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: That away, you see what?
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: Like I know, like I said, it's always easy when
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: I look at it from be honest with you, I
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: look at all this ship like I really come from,
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: like the hood I come from, like niggas losing their
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: life over some dumb shit over dice games, Like I
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: didn't have an uncle get killed by that was a
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: blood that got killed by a crypt. Another uncle that
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: was a crypt that got killed by blood and like it,
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: and it fucked up my whole like childhood upbringing to
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: where it's like y'all letting songs divide and create and
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: make people so sensitive to where it's like to me
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: it's like, come on, man, like we it's like watching
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: a fucking action packed movie.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Nobody really, you know what I mean.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: To me, I hated how it started because they're just
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: two totally different artists. To me, I didn't I get Drake,
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: and really it's just Kendrick, like you said, it really
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: comes from kind of more respected.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's like, I think you can't just never
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: discredit like Drake. Drake. Drake is like Drake. You was
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: in the city when Drake.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: Really, yeah, I see, yeah, I've seen from from the
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: beginning to to so where is it the star?
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: You know, Like, I don't think it will ever be
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: another Drake. That's just that's just what it is, you know.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: And ain't nobody ever fought against that many people bro.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Drake him, Kendrick him.
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: To the end of the day, it just comes down
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: to being that, like both of them the big dogs
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: at what they do, and why about that being respected?
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Everybody got spared one day. But that's list.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Hey, in my neighborhood, the two toughest niggas have to
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: get down. One gotta lose. That don't make them less
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: than the other one, you know what I mean, It's
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: just be more respected because ain't nobody else gonna get
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: down with one of these one of them niggas.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: That's just so. That's that's my view.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: Everybody who don't come from the streets or understand the
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: street part of it may not look at it like that.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: It may getting their feelings or be sensitive about certain ship.
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: For me, I look at all this ship, like bro,
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: ain't nobody hurt this ship?
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Is this?
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: This is it was good watching fucking the matrix. See
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: I told you about Lebron and Brownie. This is the matrix.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Man, let's get up before Now that's hard. I think
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: it's dope and ship right.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: What you think about like seeing bron I got the
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: upmost respectful bron but be able to see his son
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: in the league with them play on the same team that.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: You know how the league work. Yeah, it's gonna be
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: a moment where Bronni and Broun in the game, but
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: the same time he's starting. I ain't say he's starting,
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: but it's gonna be a moment.
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: I told everybody it's gonna be a highlight or little
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: bron You're gonna throw brown alive and the ships gonna
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: go crazy.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: That's gonna be everywhere. You know it's gonna happen though,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: right for sure, that's.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: What I'm hoping. I'm watching a game with me too.
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: I'm gonna lie, I'm gonna recorded.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I don't want it to be against the Kings, but
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: it's definitely a moment like come on, bro, like damn
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: with everybody.
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: None of us never seen no ship like that, so
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: for to be an opportunity for that to happen. Ship,
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: if I had a son, I want like if my son,
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: if my son, now, if my my son two years old,
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: so you cook, But if I had my son was
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: in that position, I will I will want the same thing.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: For sure. They do nothing.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: I gotta start having kids at fourteen that we ain't
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: pushing that.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: But if you're trying to leave, what a good circle, man.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: We're about to get the fuck up out of here. Man,
