- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Ashley Bynes'
- 0:13Speaker 1: controversial kid-free Euro trip, the fallout from the Tammy Hembrough
- 0:18Speaker 1: and Bailey Smith new romance, and Chloe Zep's remorse over
- 0:22Speaker 1: the closure of her activewear line. But first, Taylor Swift
- 0:25Speaker 1: has announced she's entering a new era. the singer-songwriter revealed
- 0:29Speaker 1: she's releasing her 12th studio album, Diary of a Showgirl,
- 0:33Speaker 1: in October. Taylor shared the news on her boyfriend Travis
- 0:36Speaker 1: Kelsey's podcast, but the announcement has been overshadowed by the
- 0:40Speaker 1: revelation that Taylor Swift has actually been in her sourdough
- 0:43Speaker 1: era since finishing her epic tour.
- 0:45Speaker 2: The sourdough has taken over my life in a huge way.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I'm really talking about bread. Uh, 60% of the time it's,
- 0:55Speaker 2: it's become, it's become a huge, huge factor.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I mean, and she's getting good with making all these
- 1:04Speaker 3: different versions of it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I could listen to Taylor Swift talk about sourdough for hours.
- 1:09Speaker 1: This is right up my alley because I've only recently
- 1:11Speaker 1: started getting into bread making. I just felt like at
- 1:15Speaker 1: one with Taylor, I'm like, we're the same. I mean, yes,
- 1:17Speaker 1: you're mega famous and rich, but we also both like
- 1:19Speaker 1: making bread. Like, could she be any more relatable? Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 1: it was really nice just to hear Taylor talking normally
- 1:25Speaker 1: because she is so down to earth. And we haven't
- 1:27Speaker 1: really got to see that side of her for a
- 1:29Speaker 1: while because she's been on the era's tour and it's
- 1:32Speaker 1: been so pumped up in the media. She's almost become
- 1:35Speaker 1: this godlike entity to people. Yeah, and I think that's
- 1:37Speaker 1: one of Taylor Swift's superpowers. She can remain so relatable,
- 1:41Speaker 1: yet she is this mega superstar. And I think it
- 1:43Speaker 1: was a good move to have her on Travis's podcast.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean, I know a lot's been said about, oh,
- 1:48Speaker 1: you know, why is she announcing the news of her
- 1:50Speaker 1: album on her boyfriend's podcast? But as she said on
- 1:53Speaker 1: the podcast, it was just a cool, fun way to
- 1:56Speaker 1: share the news. And it was a surprising way, like
- 1:58Speaker 1: no one was expecting it. And no one was expecting
- 2:01Speaker 1: the chat about the sourdough and also otters.
- 2:05Speaker 2: This is where the internet is a good place where
- 2:07Speaker 2: you can curate a reality where all I really use
- 2:10Speaker 2: the internet for is sourdough and when Travis shows me
- 2:13Speaker 2: videos of otters on his Instagram algorithm.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's an interesting animal. I want a wild otter so bad.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I just want to find these little creatures.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And be friends with them.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Why a wild one? Aren't they all wild? No, there's domestic.
- 2:30Speaker 2: He wants one specifically whose life he saved. who knows
- 2:36Speaker 2: that he's saved his life. It's a really specific type
- 2:40Speaker 2: of otter he's looking for.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Taylor herself joked on this podcast episode that when they
- 2:45Speaker 1: first got together, people must have been like, what do
- 2:47Speaker 1: they talk about? I mean, I could never have guessed
- 2:49Speaker 1: that this is what they spoke about, but I love it.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I saw a tweet that someone put up and they said,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't want to give any spoilers for those who
- 2:55Speaker 1: haven't listened to the podcast, but this is what it's about.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And they put a photo of an otter and a
- 3:00Speaker 1: sourdough loaf. I couldn't believe that the podcast was two
- 3:03Speaker 1: hours long. I know that is usually the length of
- 3:07Speaker 1: the New Heights episodes, but I was like, oh, maybe
- 3:09Speaker 1: Taylor Swift will only be on it for a short time.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But it was so good to hear her in this
- 3:14Speaker 1: long form content. And she opened up about so many
- 3:17Speaker 1: interesting things. It got me even more excited for her
- 3:21Speaker 1: new album coming out because it sounds like she's taken
- 3:24Speaker 1: a bit of feedback on board off the back of
- 3:26Speaker 1: the Tortured Poets. I have to say the Tortured Poets
- 3:29Speaker 1: has been my favorite album she's released in the last
- 3:31Speaker 1: four albums. So I much prefer to over Folklore, Evermore,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and also Midnight. However, a lot of music critics are
- 3:39Speaker 1: saying it was too long. There were too many songs.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I think it was the real Swifties that enjoyed that album,
- 3:44Speaker 1: the real hardcore fans. But it seems like this album
- 3:48Speaker 1: is more for everyone else. Like she said, it's only
- 3:51Speaker 1: going to be 12 songs for a 12th album. She's
- 3:53Speaker 1: confirmed that there's no surprise second bonus album. And she
- 3:57Speaker 1: said it really encapsulates music. what her life has been
- 4:00Speaker 1: like behind the curtain while she was on the Ears tour.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She said it's infectious joy. And Travis said that there's
- 4:06Speaker 1: going to be a lot of bangers. And I noticed
- 4:08Speaker 1: there's a song on the album called Honey, which is
- 4:10Speaker 1: pretty interesting off the back of Travis Kelsey appearing in
- 4:13Speaker 1: Happy Gilmore too. Well, in that movie, he had honey
- 4:17Speaker 1: poured all over him. Taylor confirmed that she wasn't dressed
- 4:20Speaker 1: as the bear that poured the honey on him.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I fly out to Europe tomorrow night, so I thought
- 4:26Speaker 2: I'd do a little haul of some last-minute things that
- 4:28Speaker 2: I just put up at the shop.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Ashy Binds' two-week Euro trip is causing controversy for more
- 4:34Speaker 1: reasons than one. The OG fitness influencer initially divided opinions...
- 4:39Speaker 1: when she announced she was holidaying kid-free for the second
- 4:42Speaker 1: time this year. However, it was Ashi's decision to film
- 4:45Speaker 1: and share content at a Holocaust remembrance site that truly
- 4:49Speaker 1: angered people. Now, before we get into that side of things,
- 4:52Speaker 1: I want to talk about this kid-free holiday aspect because
- 4:55Speaker 1: it's not the first time Ashi has been criticized for
- 4:57Speaker 1: holidaying without her children. In 2022, she was forced to
- 5:01Speaker 1: defend herself after she left her three-month-old daughter, Tala, at
- 5:04Speaker 1: home with her husband while she went on a girl's
- 5:06Speaker 1: weekend away. At the time, Ashley called out the hypocrisy saying,
- 5:10Speaker 1: if a dad went away for 48 hours, no one
- 5:13Speaker 1: would say anything. She also questioned what was wrong with
- 5:16Speaker 1: leaving her children with their father. Ashley was again then
- 5:19Speaker 1: criticized this time last year when she left her daughter
- 5:22Speaker 1: at home again with her dad to travel solo with
- 5:25Speaker 1: her eight-year-old son, Taj. More recently, in May, Ashley was
- 5:29Speaker 1: labeled selfish online after she went on a girl's trip
- 5:31Speaker 1: to Bali without her family. Amy, how do you feel
- 5:34Speaker 1: about Ashley leaving her kids at home? Well, They do
- 5:37Speaker 1: have a father that is looking after them in those
- 5:40Speaker 1: examples that you provided. So I see nothing wrong with
- 5:42Speaker 1: her actually going and having a holiday with her friends.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I mean, mums do need a break as well. I
- 5:47Speaker 1: was going to say that no one would blink an
- 5:49Speaker 1: eyelid if Ashley's husband, Steve, did the same thing. But recently,
- 5:52Speaker 1: Steph Clare Smith's husband, Josh Miller, was called out for
- 5:55Speaker 1: doing just that. It was a slightly different scenario though,
- 5:58Speaker 1: because Josh is the children's primary caregiver. Billy, their daughter,
- 6:02Speaker 1: was also a newborn. So slightly different. I mean, I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 1: Tala was three months old, so just still unfair to
- 6:09Speaker 1: be called out like that, I think. I mean, I
- 6:11Speaker 1: can understand the criticism a little bit more this time
- 6:13Speaker 1: around because Ashley and Steve are both away from their children.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I still think this backlash is unfair. I mean, the
- 6:18Speaker 1: kids are probably with a family member having a great
- 6:21Speaker 1: time themselves, but I think I would go on a
- 6:23Speaker 1: holiday without Harry if my parents said, oh, we'll look
- 6:27Speaker 1: after him for a few days. I don't really see
- 6:28Speaker 1: anything wrong with that because I think sometimes you do
- 6:30Speaker 1: need a bit of a break. Yeah, but it's not
- 6:32Speaker 1: a couple of days. It's two weeks away from your kids.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I mean, Tala is three and Taj is nine. Surely
- 6:39Speaker 1: they could have brought the nine-year-old. I mean, I probably
- 6:41Speaker 1: wouldn't want to go to Europe with a three-year-old, but
- 6:43Speaker 1: I think in this instance, maybe then just don't go
- 6:45Speaker 1: on a holiday and wait until your kids are a
- 6:46Speaker 1: little bit older. Like, I'm a bit old school. I
- 6:48Speaker 1: wouldn't want to leave my kids at home. I want
- 6:50Speaker 1: to bring them with me and share those ventures together.
- 6:53Speaker 1: In saying that, I wouldn't be taking a toddler to
- 6:55Speaker 1: Europe either. No, I heard Ash Wicks talking on his
- 6:58Speaker 1: podcast about it and he and his wife are going
- 7:00Speaker 1: to Bali, I think it was for a week, and
- 7:03Speaker 1: he said they previously bought the kids but it was
- 7:05Speaker 1: so hellish that they decided not to take them this time.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I mean, he said it was kind of awful for
- 7:10Speaker 1: everybody involved. I suppose it's personal preference and I'm actually
- 7:13Speaker 1: just thrilled for Steve that he got the call up
- 7:15Speaker 1: because it seems like a well-deserved trip for him considering
- 7:17Speaker 1: that he has solo parented whilst Ashley has been away
- 7:20Speaker 1: on numerous holidays. So the couple ended up traveling business
- 7:23Speaker 1: class to Poland with a stopover in Singapore and Turkey.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And Ashley posted on TikTok making light that she was
- 7:29Speaker 1: a passenger princess and that Steve had booked everything for
- 7:33Speaker 1: their trip. And it kind of made more sense when
- 7:35Speaker 1: Ashley revealed on her Instagram story where they were first
- 7:38Speaker 1: going in Poland. So from the back of the car,
- 7:41Speaker 1: she shared that she was going to Auschwitz Museum. So
- 7:44Speaker 1: the site used to be the largest Nazi concentration and
- 7:48Speaker 1: extermination camp during World War II. And it's considered one
- 7:51Speaker 1: of the most significant Holocaust remembrance sites in the world.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Let's take a listen to what Ashley said about it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So I've just got a private driver that is taking
- 7:59Speaker 1: us to the Auschwitz camp. So today is going to
- 8:04Speaker 1: be a heavier day. That's something Steve and I have
- 8:07Speaker 1: always wanted to go and learn about more and experience more,
- 8:10Speaker 1: read lots of books and documentaries. And Steve watched a
- 8:13Speaker 1: bunch of new movies coming over as well. It's going
- 8:16Speaker 1: to be a very sad, heavy day. I won't be
- 8:18Speaker 1: documenting it or vlogging it. Just out of respect, it
- 8:21Speaker 1: just doesn't feel quite right. But yeah, I've got a
- 8:25Speaker 1: full day out there. And yeah. Now, despite saying she
- 8:30Speaker 1: wasn't going to document her visit to the museum and memorial,
- 8:34Speaker 1: three hours later, as she shared photos from the grounds
- 8:37Speaker 1: with the caption, this is so surreal, so fucking sad,
- 8:40Speaker 1: there are no words. She went on to share six
- 8:43Speaker 1: photos and 12 videos with the disclaimer that she was
- 8:46Speaker 1: about to share sensitive content that may, quote, feel heavy
- 8:50Speaker 1: and emotional to read or watch. Now, this vision included
- 8:54Speaker 1: photos of the victims alongside their personal belongings and the
- 8:57Speaker 1: barracks that they stayed in, including the toilets and the
- 9:00Speaker 1: bunk beds. As she accompanied the vision with her personal
- 9:03Speaker 1: thoughts from her visit, she wrote, Today we walked through Auschwitz.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I don't think anything could have prepared me for the
- 9:09Speaker 1: weight of being here. The stillness, the silence, and the
- 9:11Speaker 1: knowing that over 1.1 million men, women, and children were
- 9:14Speaker 1: murdered on these very grounds. There was so much we
- 9:17Speaker 1: weren't allowed to film out of deep respect, but this
- 9:19Speaker 1: is the small glimpse we had permission to share. I'm
- 9:22Speaker 1: not here to debate or answer questions. I'm simply sharing
- 9:24Speaker 1: because so many of you have messaged saying you never
- 9:27Speaker 1: have had the chance to come here yourselves. She finished
- 9:30Speaker 1: up by saying that she felt heartbroken but grateful for
- 9:32Speaker 1: the privilege of learning. Now, two hours later, it was
- 9:36Speaker 1: a real jump scare because she then shared vision of
- 9:38Speaker 1: her looking very glamorous, sitting on the back of what
- 9:41Speaker 1: looked like a horse and carriage doing this royal-esque wave, pouting.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And she went on to share photos of her and
- 9:47Speaker 1: her husband enjoying dinner out. It just seemed totally tone
- 9:51Speaker 1: deaf to have that off the back of this other content. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's also bizarre considering she said she wasn't going to
- 9:57Speaker 1: share any content. I mean, I'm going to use the
- 9:59Speaker 1: word again. but I found the whole thing very tone deaf,
- 10:01Speaker 1: especially considering what's going on in the world at the moment.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I mean, I understand that her job is to share content,
- 10:07Speaker 1: but have some respect. I mean, to make this big
- 10:09Speaker 1: deal that you're not going to share content, but then
- 10:11Speaker 1: a couple of hours later, you do the exact opposite.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I mean, if she felt compelled to share about it after,
- 10:16Speaker 1: she could have just spoken directly to the camera about
- 10:19Speaker 1: her experience rather than sharing vision from within. I mean,
- 10:22Speaker 1: what is she gaining by sharing it? That was the
- 10:24Speaker 1: big question I had. Yeah, I think she should have
- 10:26Speaker 1: just paid her respects rather than using it as a
- 10:28Speaker 1: content opportunity, which it really felt like. And despite saying
- 10:32Speaker 1: that she had permission to share this small glimpse, It
- 10:35Speaker 1: appears to have gone against the rules stipulated on the
- 10:37Speaker 1: museum's website. So the rules state people are allowed to
- 10:40Speaker 1: take photos and videos for their personal records, but not
- 10:43Speaker 1: for commercial purposes. And the photography and filming is not
- 10:46Speaker 1: permitted in certain rooms of the site. They even listed
- 10:49Speaker 1: specific guidelines for digital creators that said online creators need
- 10:53Speaker 1: to get permission to produce content for their channels at
- 10:55Speaker 1: the museum. Prior to the visit, content creators have to
- 10:58Speaker 1: send information to the press contact, including an outline of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the script or concept of the material and The content
- 11:04Speaker 1: then has to be approved by the museum's press office
- 11:06Speaker 1: before publication. Furthermore, only a museum representative is allowed to
- 11:10Speaker 1: speak about the history of the camp, either narrating the
- 11:13Speaker 1: history alone or in an interview format with the author.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So to me, it seems like Ashi posted this content
- 11:18Speaker 1: without getting approval. Oh, yeah, I don't think anyone approved
- 11:21Speaker 1: that kind of content. I mean, it shows you just
- 11:24Speaker 1: how sensitive this type of content is, the fact that
- 11:26Speaker 1: you have to go through all of those approvals.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Everyone's seen it. I'm assuming the news comes out. It's not... Look, okay.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What has everyone seen, firstly, for those who might not
- 11:37Speaker 1: have seen it?
- 11:37Speaker 4: My ex has moved on with someone. Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 3: So.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Well, she's on a date. Tammy Hembrough has iconically responded
- 11:46Speaker 1: to being busted on a date with AFL star Bailey
- 11:49Speaker 1: Smith just seven weeks after announcing her divorce from Matt Sikowsky.
- 11:53Speaker 1: The OG influencer took to TikTok to cryptically share how
- 11:57Speaker 1: she's feeling via song mime. This is going to be
- 12:00Speaker 1: one of Tammy's greatest talents, picking song lyrics that align
- 12:03Speaker 1: with what's going on in her life. It's literally how
- 12:06Speaker 1: we all picked up on the fact that her and
- 12:07Speaker 1: Matt Sikowski were done. And she's quite the storyteller via lyrics.
- 12:11Speaker 1: So the lyrics she chose to respond to being spotted
- 12:14Speaker 1: with Bailey Smith were as follows.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Don't be fucking boring. This whole town is so fucking boring.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I can't.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And there was an added Easter egg in this TikTok.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So fans quickly picked up. that Tammy was wearing the
- 12:30Speaker 1: same Adidas jacket Bailey Smith wore on their lunch date
- 12:33Speaker 1: over the weekend. And funnily enough, a week prior, Tammy
- 12:37Speaker 1: was busted wearing her ex-fiancee Reese Hawkins' jacket. So she
- 12:40Speaker 1: was seen sporting the jacket on her Instagram story after
- 12:44Speaker 1: the pair reunited to celebrate their daughter's ninth birthday. However,
- 12:48Speaker 1: that story was quickly removed. I love how Tinder are
- 12:51Speaker 1: now trying to claim this relationship because as we discussed
- 12:54Speaker 1: on Tuesday's show, Bailey is an ambassador for Tinder. So
- 12:58Speaker 1: under a TikTok of Bailey, they replied to a comment
- 13:00Speaker 1: that said, well, he found Tammy just in time, writing,
- 13:04Speaker 1: wonder where they met with the eyes emoji. Good on
- 13:07Speaker 1: Tinder because no one believes for a second that they
- 13:09Speaker 1: met on the app. However, their name is getting thrown
- 13:12Speaker 1: around a lot. I mean, I think the partnership has
- 13:14Speaker 1: paid for itself. Now I want to talk to you
- 13:16Speaker 1: about Matt Sikowsky because he has hit back on his
- 13:19Speaker 1: podcast revealing that he was the one who dumped Tammy.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I was waiting with bated breath to see what he
- 13:25Speaker 1: was going to say, seeing as he gave all those
- 13:27Speaker 1: quotes to the media on Monday. The podcast ended up
- 13:30Speaker 1: dropping a day late, which makes me think that there
- 13:32Speaker 1: was a bit going on behind the scenes. The same
- 13:34Speaker 1: thing happened last time Matt addressed the Tammy situation on
- 13:37Speaker 1: his podcast. And I suppose when life gives you lemons,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you make lemonade, as Matt used Tammy's date as a
- 13:42Speaker 1: hook to get listeners. So the episode was entitled Seeing
- 13:45Speaker 1: Your Ex With Someone Else. And within a couple of
- 13:48Speaker 1: minutes of the show starting, Matt addressed the Tammy Bailey sighting.
- 13:52Speaker 1: So when his co-host Anna McAvoy asked him about his weekend,
- 13:55Speaker 1: he said obviously everyone had seen what happened with Tammy.
- 13:58Speaker 1: He then dropped this.
- 14:00Speaker 4: A couple of months ago, I made one of the
- 14:03Speaker 4: hardest decisions of my life. I decided to leave a
- 14:06Speaker 4: relationship that I found was not right for me. It
- 14:10Speaker 4: was unhealthy for me. And I made the decision for
- 14:12Speaker 4: my mental health to leave. In doing that, it does
- 14:16Speaker 4: not make it any easier seeing the person that you loved,
- 14:19Speaker 4: the person that you married, move on with someone.
- 14:23Speaker 1: It's interesting off the back of Tammy being spotted with
- 14:25Speaker 1: another guy that he has to say, oh, I'm the
- 14:27Speaker 1: one that dumped her. Yeah. I assumed that it was
- 14:31Speaker 1: Tammy that broke up with Matt, so I was quite
- 14:32Speaker 1: shocked to hear this news. It just seems like a
- 14:34Speaker 1: bit of a power play to be like, oh, well,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I'm the one that dumped her, so I'm the winner
- 14:38Speaker 1: in this situation. But then you go and talk about
- 14:41Speaker 1: it on your podcast after saying that silence is power.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Like it's just, I think he's scrambling to catch up
- 14:47Speaker 1: to try and get media attention around this. He went
- 14:50Speaker 1: on to say that it's been extra difficult because of
- 14:52Speaker 1: this relationship being in the public eye and he can't
- 14:54Speaker 1: block it out. He then said, you know, I've been
- 14:57Speaker 1: getting all of these messages from publication and my friends
- 14:59Speaker 1: talking about it. And then he said that he wasn't
- 15:02Speaker 1: judging Tammy for moving on quickly. That was all fine.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It hasn't upset him, but he just thought, oh, wow,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you know, wow. It's an odd decision to say all
- 15:10Speaker 1: of these things if you don't want to be engaging
- 15:13Speaker 1: in it all. Like, if you don't want to be involved,
- 15:15Speaker 1: don't say anything else about it. Yeah, because if you
- 15:18Speaker 1: just wanted to block it out, wouldn't you just stop
- 15:19Speaker 1: talking about it? Because the media are now going to
- 15:21Speaker 1: pick up on his side of things. Yeah, and putting
- 15:24Speaker 1: clickbait headlines. Yeah, it seems like Tammy's decision to move
- 15:27Speaker 1: on quickly has actually changed Matt's mind about staying silent
- 15:30Speaker 1: on his breakup as well, because he said this.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I know I said that I wasn't going to address...
- 15:37Speaker 4: this any further and keep talking about it but you
- 15:41Speaker 4: know things are going to arise as I go on
- 15:43Speaker 4: the journey of healing and I have this platform this
- 15:47Speaker 4: podcast people listen every week and I think that I
- 15:51Speaker 4: might share my journey with them and how I'm traveling
- 15:53Speaker 4: and how my healing is going so I'll keep you
- 15:55Speaker 4: guys posted.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I mean we predicted early on that this was going
- 15:59Speaker 1: to happen it was only going to be a matter
- 16:01Speaker 1: of time before he shared his side of the story
- 16:03Speaker 1: and this has obviously pushed him on I mean, I
- 16:05Speaker 1: think this is game on for Matt, particularly off the
- 16:07Speaker 1: back of him giving quotes to media. I mean, just
- 16:09Speaker 1: after we recorded Tuesday's episode, pap shots of Matt walking
- 16:13Speaker 1: to a cafe were published alongside the Bailey Smith, Tammy
- 16:16Speaker 1: Hembrough story. And for those who haven't seen him, in
- 16:19Speaker 1: the photos, he's walking down the street on the phone.
- 16:22Speaker 1: He sat out the front of a cafe in full
- 16:24Speaker 1: sight of the cameras before choosing a table right in
- 16:27Speaker 1: the front of a big window. Inside, he was photographed
- 16:30Speaker 1: reading a newspaper. I mean, if this doesn't scream pap
- 16:32Speaker 1: set up shots, then I don't know what does.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I mean, it's pretty obvious when you see photos like
- 16:37Speaker 1: this because What paparazzi is sitting outside Matt Sikowsky's house?
- 16:41Speaker 1: They probably don't even know where he lives. And also,
- 16:43Speaker 1: if you're being followed by paparazzi, would you really sit
- 16:46Speaker 1: out the front of the cafe and then in a window,
- 16:48Speaker 1: like reading the newspaper? I mean, the photos went perfectly
- 16:51Speaker 1: with the quotes that he gave. So obviously, he spoke
- 16:53Speaker 1: to the media, teed up these pap shots, probably made
- 16:55Speaker 1: a couple of thousand dollars off it. Well, I just
- 16:58Speaker 1: think no shame though, because I'm sure Tammy and Bailey
- 17:02Speaker 1: probably did the same thing too. See, I think maybe
- 17:04Speaker 1: Tammy called the paps, but Bailey wasn't in on it,
- 17:06Speaker 1: particularly because he gave them the finger. And I think
- 17:09Speaker 1: he's copped a lot in the sports media over this.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Like this is something that's probably causing him a headache
- 17:14Speaker 1: at Geelong because they want him to be focusing on football,
- 17:17Speaker 1: not who he's dating. And now at the moment, he's
- 17:20Speaker 1: having to contend with his ex Izzy Armitage, who's also
- 17:23Speaker 1: an influencer, talking about him on her podcast. Yeah, so
- 17:26Speaker 1: she's come out and made some quite explosive claims. She
- 17:29Speaker 1: hasn't actually named him as per se, but she's spoken
- 17:32Speaker 1: about this footballer that she used to date. So they
- 17:35Speaker 1: used to date back in 2021. Interestingly, that podcast was
- 17:39Speaker 1: pulled down the day it was uploaded and media have
- 17:42Speaker 1: been very cautious with the way they've been reporting on
- 17:44Speaker 1: what Izzy said on it. Some of the claims are
- 17:47Speaker 1: very defamatory, so we will be leaving those for now.
- 17:50Speaker 1: But I think this is a bit of a developing story.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Our latest restock and new styles have arrived in the office,
- 17:57Speaker 1: so I thought we would do a little first impressions together.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Chloe Zepp has opened up about her shock decision to
- 18:05Speaker 1: shut down her successful activewear label Zepp. The OG wellness
- 18:09Speaker 1: influencer admitted she has daily thoughts about bringing it back,
- 18:12Speaker 1: but concedes it's unrealistic at the moment. When the news
- 18:15Speaker 1: first broke in April that Zep was closing down, there
- 18:18Speaker 1: was a lot of discussion about what Chloe would do next.
- 18:20Speaker 1: So she's confirmed that she's now a stay-at-home mum for
- 18:23Speaker 1: her two young sons, Artie and Sonny. And she and
- 18:25Speaker 1: her fiance, Mitch Orville, have moved to Newcastle from the
- 18:28Speaker 1: Gold Coast. And it appears they're living a pretty normal,
- 18:31Speaker 1: simple life. Mitch is now working a nine-to-five job. Sadly, though,
- 18:36Speaker 1: it seems like the decision to shut Zep down was
- 18:38Speaker 1: almost forced upon Chloe because she said she just didn't
- 18:41Speaker 1: have the capacity to keep it running. Ultimately, having a
- 18:44Speaker 1: business with a team of staff alongside looking after two
- 18:47Speaker 1: children was just too much for her. I feel this week, Amy,
- 18:50Speaker 1: we can really relate to it because we are under
- 18:52Speaker 1: the pump. It's taken a while to record this podcast. Yes,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I feel for all mums out there and any stay-at-home
- 18:58Speaker 1: dads as well who are running businesses. Now, Chloe admitted
- 19:01Speaker 1: that she cried for a month about shutting down Zep
- 19:04Speaker 1: and said she would bring it back in a smaller
- 19:06Speaker 1: capacity if possible. Do you think people would actually want
- 19:09Speaker 1: it back? Like, does she have that much demand now? Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 1: she definitely does. When it closed down, there were a
- 19:13Speaker 1: lot of upset people that came out of the woodwork
- 19:15Speaker 1: being like, oh my goodness, they were the comfiest tights.
- 19:18Speaker 1: She definitely had a loyal customer base. And when she
- 19:21Speaker 1: was flat out asked by a follower during a Q &
- 19:23Speaker 1: A if she made the right decision, she said, I
- 19:26Speaker 1: think I could have definitely made other choices. We had
- 19:29Speaker 1: investment opportunities, but at the time it felt overwhelming and
- 19:32Speaker 1: more work, which I didn't have the capacity for. But
- 19:34Speaker 1: I'm sure there's other changes I could have made first.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I was just in a season that felt big and
- 19:39Speaker 1: overwhelming for me. I felt really sad when I read
- 19:41Speaker 1: this because it seems like in hindsight she wishes she
- 19:43Speaker 1: kept it going, especially with investors interested. Yeah, but she
- 19:46Speaker 1: did go on to say that she didn't have any
- 19:49Speaker 1: regrets as she needed a break after being burnt out
- 19:51Speaker 1: from years of striving. It just makes me wonder if
- 19:54Speaker 1: an investor was interested, could they not have sold ZEP
- 19:57Speaker 1: to them? Well, I'm guessing the investor wanted to put
- 19:59Speaker 1: money into it. They might not have actually wanted to
- 20:01Speaker 1: buy it. I also wonder if one of the main
- 20:04Speaker 1: motivators for getting rid of ZEP was because of Chloe's
- 20:07Speaker 1: dwindling followers. She did have a lot of people drop
- 20:10Speaker 1: off after her controversial views over COVID. I mean, remember
- 20:13Speaker 1: there were people burning their Zep products? Yeah, but that
- 20:16Speaker 1: was five years ago. I think people got over that
- 20:18Speaker 1: pretty quickly. I mean, I don't think the brand was
- 20:20Speaker 1: as big as it was before that, but they still
- 20:22Speaker 1: had a pretty good supporter base. And the fact that
- 20:24Speaker 1: someone was willing to invest in it makes me think
- 20:26Speaker 1: that potentially maybe we could see it return in the future.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Chloe did say that there was potential for future projects
- 20:33Speaker 1: Chloe also hinted at a possible YouTube return. So she said,
- 20:36Speaker 1: it's been on her heart for the last month and wrote,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I felt the urge to come back on throughout the
- 20:41Speaker 1: highs and lows of motherhood. Truly the shift to stay
- 20:43Speaker 1: at home mom has been hard and I'm over here
- 20:45Speaker 1: needing that word of encouragement more than ever too. She
- 20:48Speaker 1: said she was tossing up between whether she would do
- 20:50Speaker 1: a vlog format or a sort of table talk. I
- 20:53Speaker 1: definitely think vlog and I'm excited to see those hopefully return. Well,
- 20:58Speaker 1: that's where we're going to wrap things up today. If
- 20:59Speaker 1: you do enjoy the show and want to hear more
- 21:02Speaker 1: content from us, we drop a subscriber-only episode every Thursday.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That show is basically an extension of Outspoken where we
- 21:09Speaker 1: talk even more about influences. This podcast was recorded on
- 21:13Speaker 1: the traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
- 21:16Speaker 1: We pay respect to elders past and present.
