- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: I care about the car Larry, I care.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, you know, thank you.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, all right, let's, by the way, I'm going to, if I see my, I'm in a great mood tonight, and I am in a great mood tonight, it's because I took a two team teaser.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: I went with the Rangers against the Giants, because I knew the Giants weren't going to beat the Rangers this morning, and then I followed it up with the freaking Red Sox, the Boston Red Sox since I went to Fenway Park.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: are thirty and five in their own school run five it's one of the most historic runs they got a little touch of the crew magic i did a live stream john from fenway park since that point they are thirty and five
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: just saying.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying I'm the key, but I stopped down there.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: They were terrible.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: They were in last place.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: I left there, put a little magic on them.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Crew show magic all of a sudden, 30 and five.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: unreal man on the right so I hate this but a battle of the sox tonight at then way for nothing red sox over white sox the battle of the sox all right but that's not what we're here to talk about but i am feeling good i am definitely feeling good about that uh... let's get into just what you've seen out at training camp i won't lead you in any direction
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't what what's the topic at we time did it what has been revealed at forty nine or training camp they have ninety guys in the camp roster twenty of them are hurt so that's kind of the overarching story but beyond that because that story is a little tired and some of it's actually kind of BS some of these guys are legitimately hurt ricky pierce all the k-o-comar uh you know but some of them are i'm not saying they're shaken it but some of these are kind of like precautionary hey these guys can't have capsule tight
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's what happens.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, the same kind of injuries you're getting baseball after a couple of weeks.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're more soreness adapting to the schedule.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I would call them true injuries as much as just kind of things that kind of slow you down a little bit outside of the injuries.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: Or if you want to make the injuries, your, your big takeaway.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Give me your takeaway.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Your big takeaway on the beginning of camp.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I probably the biggest positive is that the legends are still the legends.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it probably the number one out of all those.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: A christian McAfrey looks like a burst that is present that we haven't seen in a couple of years.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: If we're going to be honest, like I understand last year McAfrey,
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: incredible production throughout the course of the season but there was never that explosive factor it so like man CMC looks like he's got some burst now I know we're comparing him to running you know running back two three and four are not practicing so you're comparing the running back speed of CMC versus guys you just signed off the street I understand that that is problematic but christian
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Evans, the gray green law, the legends are at that peak that we recognize them at being.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's huge because we can talk all about the entries and I get it.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dive into that 20% of your roster is not practicing that's a problem.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: But the guys that matter the most,
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: are there consistently just turning it on play after play after play and guys like Drake Greenlaw, which when Drake Greenlaw's at his best, this defense is different.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's had all the injuries.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's had all those scares and you know, he wasn't with the 49ers last year, but you did see Drake Greenlaw play at Drake Greenlaw levels in the playoffs for the Broncos and those two playoff games.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: The only reason why that had a chance to win those games,
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: was straight green.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he has showed up since day one and been as advertised.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: 57 is 57.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: The enforcer is ready to roll.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: So my main takeaway is the guys that you need to perform.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: The all pros, the pro bowlers, those legacy guys are ready to roll.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's huge.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: One of the big topics.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: was that man the Niners have these 10 players really that are like, you know, not just great players, but older players, right?
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's CMC and Juice.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's Mike Evans.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's Trent Williams.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's Nick Bosa.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's Fred Warner.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's Drake Greenlaw.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Did I see Mike Evans?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: probably George Kittle, but he has George Kittle, he might be one more than I'm not thinking of, but basically that's their older players, and yet, you know, to a man, every one of those guys looks really good.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Trent Williams looks great, Christian McAfrey looks great,
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Greenlaw didn't practice today, but he looks great.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Fred Warner looks amazing.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say that he doesn't look like he ever hurt the ankle, but he just looks like he's in the greatest shape of his life.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have Mike Evans in past years to compare to, but Mike Evans looks like Mike Evans to me, and we don't know about kiddo because he's not practicing yet, but I mean, one of the big questions I had is,
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: are the ten great players, you know, the ten leaders, the big name guys, how many of these guys are going to be kind of shadows of what they were?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: And if the numbers, anything more than one or two, they might be in trouble.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what?
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: least based on what I've seen thus far, I don't see, I have a hard time predicting any of their premier guys to really kind of fully crest the hill and take a step down.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're kind of, they've crested the hill, but they're still kind of up on this plateau.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: They're still up here.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I'm seeing right now.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see, I was waiting for that kind of like, how many of the stars are diminished.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't really see it now.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll see it in December.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll see it in January.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a war of attrition to some degree.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: But at least in August, they looked at him good.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: They really didn't.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: We've been able to say that about Christian McCaffer in particular the past two offseason.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like that has not been the case.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: He looks different.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: And so like even the one that's like all right, probably the chief cornerstone of the offense when Kyle Shanahan's calling plays.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: let's talk a little bit today they picked up agbo or romquo and he started with the rams at a Oklahoma fifth-round pick in 2018 four years in L.A. had a good year in Houston in 22 two years in Cleveland in that wide nine-ups at Miles Garrett playing for Jim Schwartz then he was in Philly last year and he tore the tricep probably his best statistical year is 22 with Houston 44 tackles five sax
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's got experience in the wide nine.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners today picked him up and they waved Cam sample who had a knee injury and Kevin Givens.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: They also added caderal, uh, caderal Hodge, who's really more of a special teamer, but a good one, a former Pro Bowl special teamer.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and then we got to see a wrong quote in the one on once and granted it was Isaac Alar Khan and Enrique Cruz, but he abused those guys and he looked phenomenal in the one on once.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know you didn't see today's practice because there was no no crowd there today.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: but what do you think of that pickup overall and and I guess what do you think of the Niners, you know, defensively I like kind of the way it's coming together with Reheem, we saw some really good things today from Dugger, from Nick Martin, from Jack Jones, from Darrell Looter, we're seeing some real improvement there on all three levels of the defense with Reheem,
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: but what's your thought on uh... agbo a caron quo and and and you know the niner's past rush and they're desired and not be dead last and sex yeah i i like that they got somebody that's been there and you know has been coached by rheem so uh... that the familiarity is important that even brought why receiver could there or hodge who was also coached by rheemos and so like how shitheads not there so in the shithead loyalty programs not in
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: you know bring the guys in that he knows it's a fraternity and so once you have that familiarity I think that's important I was in practice you know this week and I look out and I'm like number 90 Kevin Givens is playing stand-up edge what the hell are we doing here like that that's not a real thing he's a defensive tackle like what are we doing so you're getting guys that are professionals
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: albeit you are signing guys literally off of the street but this is somebody who's played a lot of football in his career and he's put up consistent sack production in his career and you look at the injuries with you know camp sample waived you know you brought up Mikhail Kumar there is space at the edge position to make the 53 man roster
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: is a book on a make it will have to see he's got to have to show some things but the fact that he showed up day one looks the part has the understanding of the defense man what would you say 50 50 shot he makes the 53 and I got that you just signed off the street.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: But that's kind of where they are, because they've stacked injuries at the same positions.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: And defensive in slash edge is definitely one of those.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of disappointed that they moved Jayden dug her back to be honest with you.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted Jayden dug her to step, when they drafted him, I wanted him at edge.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever they bumped him down for one day, I thought that he was productive.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he looked apart.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have a better chance at playing time at edge.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I wish they would, I know they kicked him back to backer today, but I wish you would
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: you know, he is really something, you know, the Niners have three players that I just think are so intriguing.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's him, it's Larry Worth and it's Nick Martin.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it just seems like Reheem has got this kind of can-do attitude about how to utilize these guys.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: Today, Dougher had a pick six, you know, he's, he makes some big plays.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Larry Worth is flying around.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: He looks super athletic.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait to see him.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then Nick Martin, I asked, you know, I asked, Raheem about Nick Martin.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, man, since the pads came on, this guy's a totally different player.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then I asked Greenlaw the same day.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, hey, what do you think, and Nick Martin?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And the first thing he said was
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: Baller Play of camp was Nick Martin.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't even make the play.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: It was a bootleg where they pulled Luke Feral and that kind of Zoro where you're the right Tighten and you go behind the line and block back Nick Martin put his shoulder in the chest laid them out just laid them out cold It was Nick Martin's a bully dude.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm telling you right now.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like I am all in on four five
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I am too.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I am too.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to be really special.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's be honest if the 49ers are going to be a super bowl team, right now that no, we're not talking about a good team or a pretty good team.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about a top tier team a super bowl caliber team.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna need to have some combination of, I would say two to three, players have to really come out of nowhere and do something.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Guys that you're not necessarily banking on, you know, we're gonna have to, and Nick Martin could be one of those guys.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Ronaldo Green could be one of those guys.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: To the fallen one of these undrafted.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say the guy that I love love love watching Wesley Grimes To the Wesley Grimes might be a guy.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I saw the video you did on him Grimes Grimes is six three and runs four three five and can take hits
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he looks, he looks damn good, by the way.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was pretty funny, like, I had like three people asked me, is that deep on?
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, no, that's not deep, like, because like he had his jersey tucked up, like Dibo did that day in practice, and he's very well built.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: And he's six, two, 200 plus, and explosive.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: And so like it was funny, he was like, was that deep on?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, no, looks like Dibo, not Dibo.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: That is a different guy.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's T-Bo with more speed.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that is.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's look good.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they've had a number of guys.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought today was a really interesting day.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now granted, it's one day in training camp and you don't want to put too much on one day in training camp.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: But man, Grayson Haltman, who's been out for a few days with a knee bruise.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: He was back out there today.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: He had some unbelievable reps in the one-on-one.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: He spun away from an offensive lineman and sacked the quarterback.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: He just looked explosive and quick and he dominated the one-on-one.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then Ogbo, Akarank, Akarank, was just abused and wreaked crews and Isaac Alarkon.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now, granted, those are the raw stole lineman.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there are pretty much almost in all of football, possibly.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I don't really expect Ocaron quote to do that to Trent or McKivitz, but Ocaron quote looked like he absolutely is going to make this team.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what he looked like today.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now is one day.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but it was it was exciting to see a team that has 20 sacks.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm looking for some, you know, they had 20 freaking sacks last year.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking for some guys who can absolutely do it.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I got to see it.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: And Agbo Ocaronquo, in Grace and Halton, both can rush the passer.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that was encouraging to see today, because they need as many rushers as they can get inside, outside, and Oce gives them a real force inside, but man, if Halton plays, and if Ocaronquo can even play in a rotation, you know, that could improve their pass rush quite a bit, and it could be the difference between two or three extra wins.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think,
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: you know of the injury front and I understand you know the sky's falling reaction to 20 plus players not you know practicing but you know you had grace and haughton listed with the bone bruise which can be up to a month to six weeks he was back in eight days and so the fact that he practiced today took part in one on one since like okay cool maybe just maybe the 49ers are being extra cautious with every single injury
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: And if that's the case, you know, 49ers fans cross your fingers because that means you're going to begin some of these guys back.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact that Grayson Houghton came back from a knee bone bruise after eight days off, it shows up and shows out in one-on-one sets huge because we saw last year with CJ West, where training camp this guy was just...
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: constantly living in the backfield.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: Then he had his injury, you know, month of not working out, month of not practicing.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever he came back in the middle of the season, it took him weeks to get back to the limit that he was at.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so injuries, a lot of times, can just kind of derail the progress of these rookies.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: So the fact that Grayson Haunt came back after eight days, very first day in camp, already showing that penetrating force and power that he plays with that
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: If Grace and Halton can live up to the value draft type, I think I had a third round grade on them.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think you were really, really high on Grace and Halton as well.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: They got them in the fourth.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: But if you have OSA as that three technique and whenever you spell OSA, those kind of 15 to 20 plays a game of Grace and Halton can come in and show that.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: That means there is guaranteed one position on the defensive line interior where you are getting pastros production, where
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to go all the way back to 2019 with DeForce Buckner, it's been that long.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: So if you can regain the past rush production from that three-tech B-Gat pressure, I think it changes the defense, and I think it makes it easier on Bosa, it makes it easier on all of the linebackers, the safety, which is my biggest concern on this roster right now.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: that three tech is turning into a premium position in the NFL and it's being paid everywhere and if also in grace and halt can show that up, especially past rush wise, it's going to make a big difference.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: Johnny, we're thinking too much alike.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're already saying the safety is your biggest concern.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to ask you your biggest concern.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: My biggest concern is
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: how violent practice seems to be for the running backs.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: And they don't have enough running backs.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: James's hurt, horrendous hurt, Taylor Herbert and McCormick should get hazard pay.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: K-lon black and McAfrey look like they're slated for too many carries.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I would be totally happy if the Niners picked up a couple of sacrificial lamb running backs and didn't run McAfrey and black very much.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: The rest of camp were in these OTAs or in the preseason.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think we can see Christian's good.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: He knows what he's doing, came on black's good.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: He knows what he's doing.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's an awful lot of camp carries.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's guys going to the ground.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's guys getting hit.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners practice hard.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, they don't tip toe.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: They go kind of full speed.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: They're not trying to blow guys up and detonate on them.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm worried about the running back depth, especially with the injuries already.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'd feel much more comfortable if they had another back or two that were a legitimate that they could.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't have to see, you know, Christian and Black get run down before week one.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even be hurt.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Man, you look up and it's just 32, seems like he's playing every other play.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick Taylor, Jr. is just...
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: he's getting 40 carries a damn practice.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: I swear, and it was interesting with Brent Boyer at the podium earlier this week and shout out to you for asking these questions like
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Can you afford to have two punters on this roster right now?
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, is this the time to have a punter controversy whenever you have, you know, three running backs at practice, you're about to have a preseason game.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's a full game.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: is Khalil Herbert going to get 45 carries?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm not getting any preseason, but like that too could rush for like 70 yards of the preseason because there's nobody else that can keep carries.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you will have to rely on Patrick Taylor Jr. at some point this season.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they make the 53 man roster probably not, but just by attrition, let's say Katelyn back comes back.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say Jordan James comes back.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say CMC stays healthy.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of big gifts at the season's one month away.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: You need more help out there.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's here McCormick or Khalil Herbert are very real options.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: I do have trust in Patrick Taylor Jr., and he is one of those guys that just consistently positive impact, not a game breaker, not a big playability guy, but a consistent guy.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: What is your take on Patrick Taylor Jr. so far?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because we got a lot of looks at him.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I mean, he's a nice kid and he runs upright, but which takes a lot of hits.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: But he's a good athlete, he's not the worst back of ever seen, but, you know, he runs upright.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: He takes a lot of hits.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's a starter, I think he's a special teamer.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like the other guys a little bit better.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think Cleal Herbert's thicker and stronger and can move the pile a little bit.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: Since here McCormick, I think is a more efficient between the tackles runner.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: He keeps his head down.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't give you a bunch of a target.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of like a very poor man's Frank Gore type back.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Great body lean.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a Patrick Taylor guy, I would rather look around the league for somebody else than go with Patrick Taylor, even as a special teamer, especially as you're going to have D-Bo.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to have CMC, K-Long Black, Kyle Hughes check.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Probably Jordan James and my guess is Debo is going to be like the fifth running back Now you can probably keep one more running back and then let Debo be listed as a wide receiver or kick returner But I I kind of feel like Herbert McCormick and Taylor or camp backs and that they're going to go with McAfrey juice James black and Debo
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's what they want and hopefully they're healthy that you can do that for the 53.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, man, what happens if one of those guys can't, then you're kind of scratching for, you know, whatever and the other guys are going to get over use like you talked about.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not what you want.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody wants CMC usage to go down a little bit.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: The touches, you cannot lead the NFL touches again at 30 years old, like back to back years.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: I say that Kyle Shennahan somewhere grinning Watch me, but Chris McAverse great, but 400 carries.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: Come on man.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: I have a buddy who He just never likes to admit that he's surprised by anything and my buddies up my other buddies know it And so we at we'll ask him a lot of times.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Are you surprised?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: No He's never surprised
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it could be anything.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, he, will you surprise Hurricane Katrina, hit New Orleans like, no?
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see the way it was circling the goal?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this guy, he's just, you know, he's never surprised, never surprised.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, no matter what, he's never surprised.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I laugh at it all the time.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll throw that to you.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know a lot about the Niners heck, you know as much Niners as almost anybody But that's the beauty of this.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think even people who know the Niners like we do like and spend so much time thinking about it Talking about it There's still surprises You know every time there's a training camp, there's gonna be somebody that's like really surprises you good or bad
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, do you got one for me?
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: I definitely have one that I know that you don't have.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Or I would expect you don't have this guy and you're surprised like it.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: But this guy to me has been a major surprise.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who, who do you view is the surprise?
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good surprise for bad surprise.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that's me positive, can be a negative.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was really hoping that number 75 Connor Colby would take the left guard job and just run with it.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he'd get the majority of the one snaps which he has today was the first day he did not.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: They moved him over to right guard and you know, four straight even talked about it a little bit.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: but just the consistency like when we saw Connor Colby last year through those starts through the first part of the season his struggled versus stunts couldn't I didn't have that sudden read direction whenever they would threaten outside then he'd have somebody cross his face couldn't get there didn't anchor as well you know against some of the bull rush there were just issues or holes in his game
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it has been better, consistently better, it's still not perfect, and there's a huge difference between watching 77 Dominique Pune and 75 on the opposite side, but the bigger drop off to me is when the first team guards are not in.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's where it's just like, oh man, they're just getting dominated on the inside and center position as well.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to include that as well, but like that is the positive surprise to me is Connor Colby.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: The negative surprise for me would be that safety position.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: Jair Brown is making a couple of plays.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: giant brown is also giving up several huge home run style plays and busted coverage on the back end, which is weird because he gets up at the press conference talks about how simple it is and simply I'm like, dude, you busted two coverages today where a player the Marcus Robinson's running free behind you got the quarterback didn't throw it to him.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, I just don't understand it.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I struggle with giant brown.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: I understand there's nobody else.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: Malik's injured.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Ash and Davis has not looked the part that safety position.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: I really know what you could do there, but probably I was really hoping to see more positive consistency for number 27.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I have not seen that.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: My surprise guy is Junior Bergen.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh 86, baby.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean this guy keeps making plays and he's he doesn't have great speed But you know what he is he's very sure handed and then Brock want will you know Brock
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Brock's gonna move around and if you can you know if he can find you as he's moving you know right to left left or right whatever buy himself extra time if you can just sit in the soft spot in his own and be dependable enough to hold on.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: Brock pretty is gonna throw you the ball and this guy's ball skills are really good.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's a seventh round pick, is average NFL athlete, probably below average to be honest.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't have a lot of, I thought he got overwhelmed last year just by the physicality of the athletes on the roster.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: But this year he came back and he's not that big and I don't think he's all that fast, but guess what?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: I look up and he's making catches and there's there's not one at several catches and you can kind of tell that party understands that this guy is dependable.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's got dependable hands kind of reminds me a little bit of like a sterling shepherd
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, one of these guys that can run a decent route and just find the soft spot.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: If it's a zone and hold on, he's not going to no run after the catch, no real size, no real speed, no real skills, but you just look at him and you're like, whoa.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: this guy can catch and he's dependable.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think he's going to make the team.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, he's a long shot to make the team.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: But noticeably more confident and, you know, more of a contributor than last summer, he looks a lot better.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love hearing that because I remember you and I did a show immediately after the draft last year and both of us were pretty pissed about that pick.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it was just kind of like a throw away.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, you could be smaller, you could be slow.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Small and slow is not a good, you know, your speed position, man.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have something, but
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I'll agree like he has flash.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: He is sure handed.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's very supposed to be now.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny because whenever I look at Junior Bergen, I feel like every single play.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's like gymnastics like in the Olympics.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's a level 10 difficulty for him.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like every single play he makes is diving, leaping, un-like plastered coverage.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: But he's still coming up with a play.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, godly.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: this guy has to work so damn hard on a whip route or an out route or a slant route.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: But he's doing it and he's doing it consistently.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing it against the first second and 13 because the wider severs always have a different rotation than the defense does.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, 86, I'm just, it's easy to kind of get behind him because it's like, who's this little guy?
- 29:35[SPEAKER_00]: and he's tough as hell, tough, shorthanded, where he's supposed to be, not explosive, like you said.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny, even whenever I watch the punt renterners, he's not even first or second the punt rentern rotation.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: And so, like I think that's interesting because that's why he was drafted, right?
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was got to be special teams, but it looks like it's Jacob Cowan, then it's Will Paulane, then it's 86.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Or sometimes short of walkins even gets in ahead of him.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see Brent Boyer's list of debt chart for returners, and I haven't seen Debo practice one point return yet.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: I know he will be doing some of that, but what's your take on the point return situation?
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because I feel like it's Cowings job to lose.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's his job kind of already wrapped up.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, really?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's losing it.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see the place.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see him making plays on the field.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think Watkins is faster stronger.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think Pauling is more sure handed.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think Bergen is more reliable.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's going to be partly about reliability.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Debo is going to be the kick returner.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: The punt returner job is wide open, and there's a bunch of guys.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: To me, seven out there would take, which is the guy that catches the ball.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he looks the best.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he, yeah, as far as catching the ball.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: I like counting, but I mean, I have not seen counting make plays in this camp at all.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he made a per Mac Jones room, a ball of the other day, and counting went to the ground Mac Jones ran out there and got his face and told him what he did wrong.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: And you can kind of tell me, he's he's he's got ball skills.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's got four three speed.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not there where walkins,
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: to me looks like more substantial, heavier, stronger, more physical, maybe not quite the same ball skills, maybe not quite the punt returner, but a better overall athlete and bigger stronger faster.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I've been very disappointed with Jacob Cowling.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: To me, he just looks like Danny Gray, it looks like a guy who's too weak to do it.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, I don't know, I don't know, we'll see.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: of Larry hyping up all these street free agents, giving me false hope.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, bro, sorry, what can I say?
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: What can I say?
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry that I'm enthusiastic.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: I won't be enthusiastic.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: They all suck.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna suck.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna be crap.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's do this.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Let's move John and I to the corner because man, when you start upsetting the people in the chat, you better minimize yourself, put yourself in the corner.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll do this.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: We'll share the screen and we're gonna go to our prize pixel lineup.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: I thought we'd take a look at some of the Niners
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Here and move our stuff around so it looks all pretty and we move my media stuff around Where is it where is it there it is and boom all right, look at that All right, thank you to prize picks for being a proud sponsor of the crew show use code HMA play $5 Give $50 get a $150 in lineups free lineups if you're a winner
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: So check them out.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Love price picks and we're gonna do We're gonna go and look at some Niners overunders for the season When we got a pick one non-niner, but John will let you make the picks today We got Eddie Pinyar a Fred Warner Nick Bose a Brock Pirty a Christian McCaffrey Mike Evans There's lots of different categories of stats any of them stand out to you
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm looking at this Bosa one, the over under on sex and it's at 10 and a half.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: Which I'm like, okay, three healthy seasons.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's hit that.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's 10.25.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: So 10 and a half would get paid.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so like my bet is, man, if you think Bosa's legitimately healthy, more is definitely the one you got to hit.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: I do, I think he's healthy, I think he's healthy, so let's go more there.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: The other one, I kind of like a lot, is I like Mike Evans touchdowns, I just really believe that Mike Evans is going to score 10 touchdowns this year and I know that's a lot, but I think they're going to, I don't think people realize how much, how good he is in the red zone and how much the Niners are going to look for him in the red zone, so I like seven touchdowns for Mike Evans.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: for sure.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's move off of the Niners for just a second so we can pick one more or two more.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we can go with any of these across the league or we can pick another team if you want to try another team.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is there another team that you like?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think that this is a fun one to look at with all the different you know quarterbacks and this seems like you know the overunder on a lot of these
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Donald 3600 yards as pretty low hardly 700 yards.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's low.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, okay, okay, that, you know, he's got JSN, but You know, they also You know, they lost their running back.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: They may not have the kind of offensive balance that they've had.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that that's he's thrown for over 4,000 yards back to back years
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I kind of think he's the kind of guy.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the question is this
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: How does he react to winning the Super Bowl?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's the kind of guy that becomes better after winning the Super Bowl.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because I really think that he's always had the ability, I just think he's always kind of had questionable, feel, talent and confidence.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: And now after knowing that he's not going to, he's got a house, he's not moving, he's got roots, he's got a great head coach, he's got a great team, he looks very comfortable.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, did you see the hard knocks, though?
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're good.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: He fumbled the Super Bowl ring onto the floor and then looked at the camera like you've got to be shitting me I thought I mean I love that.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I actually love that because Sam is Sam I like Sam I thought Sam was a really great cool guy to talk to but that look to the camera was like You kidding me.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I just dropped out.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: You filmed that you filmed that you filmed that
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the fact that he looked over to the camera like that was office, it was like the office, I swear man.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I like that.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go with more unsammed Arnold.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to go with the last on Jackson Dart.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just think was Scataboo there with the injury to
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: to the receiver, you know, Jackson Dart runs around, takes all these chances.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's in his DNA, I think that's going to get him hurt.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's hurt, he's going to miss games, he misses games, he's not throwing for these yards.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I like less on Jackson Dart, because he plays recklessly, and when you play recklessly, it's a matter of time.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, if you told me that Jackson Dart, we knock on wood, not for, you know, I'm not thinking negative thoughts, but
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you told me Jackson Dart had a, you know, played four games and was out for the year, I wouldn't be shocked at all because he takes a lot of chances when he runs.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: He holds a ball a long time.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: He really does.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: So let's do this.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put $5 on it.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: We'll submit our lineup.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Bingo Bango takes just a second and lineup has been submitted.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now will view our lineup.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a four-pick power play $5 pays us 50 when he boasts it to have 10 and a half sacks.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Evans to have seven receiving touchdowns, Sam Darrell to have 3700 passing yards and Jackson Dart to have less than 31 49 passing yards.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: If all five of those are all four of those happen, our five dollars becomes $50.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you to prize picks.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: for being a proud sponsor of the crew show and that one doesn't hit a drink on me I'll take you out and I'll you drinks wow you're that confident I feel good about it too actually I mean you know a lot of these futures are really really good okay a couple mentions and then we'll go back and hit a couple more topics west coast easels has their tent annual event when is it Saturday September the 12th

- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right, one of the things that I think is really interesting, and I, you know, I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's interesting, but it came up this week that the Rams and Niners are going to have dramatically different plans for traveling to Australia.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: The game is September 10th.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: The rams are flying in on the ninth, they're going to fly out immediately after the game.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: they're they've heard them say they're they're like you know navy seals you know they're going to come in do the job and get out and they're not worried about acclimating or sight seeing or boots on the ground or getting their feet ready or timing they're just like hey you know what we're going to train in our facility as long as we possibly can then we get on this ridiculous flight at the 17 hour difference between Melbourne and the San Francisco or Los Angeles
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: 16 hour flight.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to fly in on on September 9th.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to play the game on September 10th and they're going to get back on the bird at September 10th and fly immediately home.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners by conversely are flying in nine days before kickoff.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to be in their regular routine.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be in some kind of bastardized Melbourne Australia
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: And they're going to acclimate their bodies, they're going to have plenty of time.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're going to play the game and they're going to also get on the bird as fast as possible and fly as fast as possible back to San Jose International and then get ready for week two.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: They're kind of guinea pigs, both teams.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think this game's very interesting.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: One, because it's a divisional game.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: Two, because it could have huge NFC play up for ramifications.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Three, because it's not just a game between two teams and two rival head coaches.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a game that also is going to be a guinea pig game for the rest of football.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: How do you travel 17 hours?
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: How do you get, you know,
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: What's the best way to do it?
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I can't get the feeling that whoever wins is not only going to win the game, but they're also going to have like You'll get them they did it right especially if it's in any way a blowout either way.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to say up.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know what if the Niners blow them out
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Rams should have got there earlier.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Niners flew in nine days before and look, they were so acclimated, or if the Rams win big, it's like, hey, the Niners sat there and got out of their rhythm for an over a week in Melbourne and then tried to tee it up.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: to play internationally, and the Rams were on their game, took a long flight, and looked very much like the Rams.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, one, what do you think of the two plans?
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been easy for the teams to be like, well, do the same thing, and so they're doing different things.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then, which plan do you think's the better plan?
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the faster the 49ers can get out of their practice facility the better.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, so I'll take that as a huge positive.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what they're doing right now is not working.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: The place they are practicing is not working.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'd be huge for that now.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: Me personally, like, I can't sleep on planes.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: I've paid for upgrade international flights before.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: Still can't sleep.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is about the altitude or the pressure is eight.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: I just can't.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, if the Rams have a player like that, he is screwed.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: because you're going to land your body is going to be a mess like it's just and again you talk about it's a 17 hour flight I'm going if your body reacts to the altitude pressure and all that stuff in a negative way your body's not going to have any time to get to where I think that this is
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a mistake by the ramps.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: I understand that they do their, they march the beat of their own drum and it is worked consistently, but from the outside looking in, I think the 49ers who have played a lot of international games.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this is a much smarter decision, one, get out of Santa Clara, that's a positive wish they'd get out of Santa Clara forever, but that's okay, and man, you're going to have time.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: allow this to be a team bonding experience to go to another culture and to be ambassadors for the sport and man, the faithful is going to increase dramatically if the Niners go down there and get a wind because this is the first game ever in Australia and the Rams requested
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: to play the 49ers because the fans are so great.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: So man, go down there, get this huge win.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: I know there are three and a half point favorites right now according to Vegas.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: So man, go go take care of business, get a bunch of faithful from down under, get back.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: I really like the way the 49ers are handling this so far.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I initially kind of liked the nine-year plan, but the more I think about it, the more I think, you know, they're going to fly in nine days early.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to take a few days to acclimate.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: Then they're going to acclimate.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: So they should be better acclimated.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: But then they're going to be kind of out of their regular routine for a long period of time.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: And the football players is so much about routine.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'd rather take the ram plan of just stay in routine as long as possible, deal with a long flight, and then just roll the dice that you got enough juice and enough energy coming off of the endless flight to win the game.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like the Rams plan better.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think the Rams are risking losing
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, who do you think Scott worse jet lag coming out of the game?
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think it's the team that has been on the Australia time zone for nine days and now needs to react to, you know, the Pacific time zone or is it the team that was playing basically in the Pacific time zone didn't deal with any kind of acclamation, you know, and that dimension.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: This
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to feel differently for them.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like the Rams plan of, you know, stay on, keep your guys on their regular deal.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then deal with the travel effects, you know, in real time.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a chance for the Niners to be a little flat because they've been in Australia for nine days.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then I could, I also feel like the Niners could be a little,
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: out of disadvantage in week two because it takes them after nine days and a different time so it takes them three days or more to kind of get comfortable and get their sea legs back you know once they return.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like the Rams approach.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: I know it sounds more rogue and less thought out and the nine-year plan seems more reasonable and reasoned, but I don't know.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like that, you know, let's just keep our guys in their rhythm until the eternally long flight.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we'll see what happens.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, you got 10 days until Game 2.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: Jed Lays happening to both of them.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and everybody says, you know, the coming back from Australia to the United States, that is where the biggest struggle takes place.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: Because like, you take off and land the same day.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: That is a long freaking day, man.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not looking forward to the return, but no, that's a long, long day.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: You've been a practice.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: You haven't spent it every practice, but you've been at some.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you watch training camp as closely as we do, there's going to be a rep or two that stands out where you're like, did you see that?
- 47:49[SPEAKER_01]: If I said to you,
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Give me somebody that produced it.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that kind of a rep that maybe may have gotten lost in the shuffle?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe You got lost in the you know in the minutia of the moments, you know, or the you know the fact that everybody's so Into the stars and the big plays in this net
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a lot of reps, all over the practice field, and some of them are really embarrassingly bad.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them are very impressively good.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: Give me a rep that when you think of this camp, you think in man, I saw this rep and I don't know who else did, but it really stood out.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Give me one.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I got two.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I got to start with a man, five, seven, Drake Greenwell, my favorite player on the four
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first or second play, earlier this week, they go team and Fred's hype and everybody up and it was awesome.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was the inside zone play.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_00]: Jake Brindle gets to the second level to try to block Drake Greenlaw.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_00]: Drake Greenlaw just does an inside ripped it move.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: Slides right past Brindle and just blows up the play in the back feel for a tackle for loss and it just set the tone It just set the tone Jake Brindle's pissed off.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'll walk it back to the huddle We've seen that a hundred times, but like the fact that you can get Drake Greenlaw to come back and set the tone That's what he does.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's the enforcer.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's the bully all that stuff into come out one V ones team play
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: get that tackle for loss to set the tone for, you know, whatever that entire drive.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was huge.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm going to go with a little deep dive here.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: There was one play where Sebastian Valdez has had a great camp.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: And the positive plays, this is what Sebastian Valdez does.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: He has so many positive plays, right?
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was one play where I was standing behind the defense.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I was looking through the defensive tackles, you know, going away from me.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: Sebastian Valdez got lifted up off the ground and driven about five yards back and I was like what the hell was that?
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: Who did that?
- 49:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I couldn't see because I was on the defensive side and finally it cleared and sure enough.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: Carver willus.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: which this is what he was no for it may be the play you got a concussion on to be honest with you like he destroyed this man and that's why they drafted carver willus yeah he can't anchor yet past pro he's a project player long-term down the road but
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: to stance about the Hulk is his nickname.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_00]: To lift this dude up off the ground and drive him back five yards to have that type of just dominating rep it was just like it was so refreshing to see from an interior guard like it was just it was really really nice so I was not a carver willus guy when they drafted him um we'll see I think he's the long-term play at center but I loved seeing that
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: from what we saw at this tape at Washington.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: I love seeing that.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll I'll go to I'll give you two as well.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, one on one couple days ago James Thompson Jr.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: gets a bull rush going against Brett Toath and I think he he may have he may have driven Brett Toath into retirement.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think Toath is probably going to call it quits.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean Toath is six, six, three, ten whatever he is.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's 29.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's not not retirement age necessarily.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: But James Thompson Jr. has got to be the strongest 49er defense alignment, and he pushed this guy.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: Toath weighs 300 pounds, he moved him back, like 7 yards, I mean, it was awesome.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, what, what am I watching?
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: How did that happen?
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I know Jim Thompson is incredibly strong, but that was amazing.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: The other rep that I saw that I was just like incredible is from his fellow rookie, undrafted, free agent, defensive tackle, Bryson Eason, just the quickness.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there aren't there many guys that are 6, 4, 6, 5, 3, 20.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: But they're really even less that are 6, 4, 6, 5, 3, 20 and quick.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: and he had a couple of moves in some of the one-on-ones in the last couple of practices where you're just like, wow man, this guy's quickness at 320 is off the charts and you know, today the Niners cut Kevin Gibbons, they cut Cam sample.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think one of the reasons they say about a given's is they're looking at James Thompson and they're looking at at price in East and they're like these guys are NFL caliber and Gibbons doesn't have a prayer.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have a prayer to make the team.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Givens has got a little pass for us to him.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's 280 pounds.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Eason has a little pass for us to him.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's 320.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: He outweighs them by 40 pounds, and he's probably quicker.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: So those two guys, really impressive.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they're gonna be really impressive when the pads come on, cause strength is a superpower for defensive tackles and quicknesses, also an incredible trait.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: And these guys, they're one guys quick and the other guys strong, and it's just they're both have a great chance to make the team.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you could only keep one Larry, Bryson Easton, or James Thompson Jr., which one would you lean and why?
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: To me, the strength of James Thompson Jr. is just awesome.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's a short yardage guy.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think he might be, if you're really looking to anchor inside, I think he's, and you are, and you've already got Oso Digi Sua.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, James Thompson is enormously strong, and you can see it in his upper body, 6, 6, 3, 10, but he had 36 reps at 225, and he knocks people back, and he's really strong.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, a little concerned about his conditioning, a little concerned about his past rush, is not tons of quickness there.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's more of a run defender, but he really can push people back.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to say.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the strength is more of a for sure trait.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you're that strong, I think those guys are always pretty good.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll take the strength.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what?
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's a passing league and the interior past pressures.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_01]: Look at interior past pressures make.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: They make so much money in free agency.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Bryce and Ethan, who's a converted linebacker, he looks really like an
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because of the league, I'd like Thompson, but I'd probably say he's in because of the passing, because he's a past pressure.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_00]: Eason has looked apart, they don't have other defensive tackles built like him, really either one of them.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_00]: And James Thompson's huge dudes, a basketball player, converted, you know, and then Bryce and Eason, he's your thick, that dudes, he's a big dude, man.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it's interesting, there's room, there's room for one.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's room for two, and it's going to be rough to
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: And to kind of decipher how that's going to work outside of entries, man, a defensive tackle room, it's going to be tough sledding, but competition breeds excellence.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so I want to see who wants it more.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Couple last thoughts before we bolt for the door, uh, Brandon and I you, maybe not going to Washington, um, we saw today that Stefan digs is going back to Washington.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: What, what do you do if you buy a 10 to 12 million dollar house in Virginia, but you don't play for the commanders.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this guys, this guy is just a train wreck to nobody wants that around.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you're going to have to buy season tickets if you want to be out there.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, seriously.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, scary.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's scary.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: How bad this has gotten.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: It really is.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got to worry about him long term, because I mean, you know, I know there's just all, well, you know, he doesn't play for the Niners anymore.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: I hope bad things happen to him.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's some people that have that idea.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: I, these are young guys.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is life in the fast lane.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's got a few bucks in his pocket, but you know, you can see the frailty of his emotions, you can see the frailty of his existence.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, you know, I see him, you know, Johnny, maybe I'm just a old at this point, but you know, I have a 26-year-old daughter, and I have a 25-24-year-old son.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, these are young people, man.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: These are young people that are just starting to carve out their lives.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: You have young adults as a parent as well.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, you know, when I see the brand Nyuxia, I could see him as a rich football player who's full of himself and doesn't have any perspective.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: But then the other side of me sees a guy who's playing a sport.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: He just great at it.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: And the NFL is this weird world where
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: you've got nothing, you've got nothing, and then all of a sudden you land the big deal, but wait a second, you can't play anymore, you're gone, and it's like, it's so life in the fast lane, and it's so like, I kind of wonder, what I'd be able to handle that.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_01]: What if all of a sudden I had nothing my whole life, and then all of a sudden because of my athleticism, I had some ridiculous contract, but then all of a sudden my body breaks, and now it all goes away.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: would I be able to handle it or would I be as immature as Brandon and so I don't know it makes me kind of sit there and think of it as a father and think, you know, maybe to this guy have good advice, does he have a good agent?
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: Does he have a good family member, a wife, a girlfriend, somebody who he really loves and trusts that can give him good advice or does he just have hangers on who are just trying to, you know, yes man him and sap off him and that kind of thing and it's just it's unfortunate.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_01]: I hope he's
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: I hope he's grounded because life is long if you make bad decisions.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well said, man, the short cuts always the longer way to go.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_00]: And when he treat people right good things happen, and man, he screwed over his whole teammates, his whole locker room, and that sucks.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: But have some Bipthee, some sympathy, well said, Larry, and you know, let humanity prevail.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_00]: And so hopefully he gets his head on the right shoulder.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't ever want him wearing a 49ers jersey ever again.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: And for those of you that like, man, reach out,
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, absolutely.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_00]: You do not allow that into your space.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, do literally make it post, make it fun to Kyle Shannon, just because he's an idiot doesn't mean you want bad things to happen to.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_00]: I get it out easy that is, but no humanity first.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_00]: Hope he gets it figured out just never play it on the 49ers again.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_01]: we have eight star chats we'll hit here but Johnny one last one on the way out the door good article today on ESPN or on ESPN dot com's website or from Seth Walder and he basically believes that the Niners ought to trade for Jesse Bates now you you've been talking about you know the safety spot as a significant concern bates was great at wakes forest he went in the second round of the 2018 draft he spent his first five seasons in Cincinnati he was damn good there
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then he went to the Falcons as a free agent in 2023, and he's been damn good there.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a second team all pro three times, 2020, 2023, and last year, you know, he's had six interceptions in a season, he's been a pro buller.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_01]: that they're suggesting or a walder suggesting that the Niners proposes the Niners send a 2027 third to the Falcons in exchange for Jesse Bates the third in a 2026 sixth.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_01]: This seems like a pretty reasonable price.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people want picks in that 27 draft badly.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: But you're talking about a third-round pick and you're talking about a difference making safety And you're getting an additional six-round pick back.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think is this a no-brainer?
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: Would you make this trade in the heartbeat or would you rather keep the pick and and you know kind of roll the dice and see who's available at the end of preseason
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_00]: I would do this trade, safety's the biggest concern was before the draft was before free agency was after both of those, it's still currently and they have more injuries in the position, it's the Achilles Hills of the 49ers, however, the 49ers front office does not care.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: They would rather sign somebody off the street and start them week one like the invitation gives and I Don't think that they would give up any draft capital for a safety now You look at Jesse Bayes who's awesomies in the last year of his contract Get them in here for a year.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you sign them long-term.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_00]: That'd be awesome They're so cheap the safety is the cheapest position in the NFL.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: You saw B's John Robinson get paid today used to be Running back it has jumped up off-ball linebacker tight-end safety or the three cheapest safety is the cheapest of all of
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_00]: I really wish they would take that position seriously and, you know, John Lynch joked right before the draft.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, see it as a premium position.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_00]: B.S.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: They do not care about that position.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I would do this trade.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_00]: Will they do this trade?
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: They want to even pick up the phone.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think on it.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_01]: two last thoughts before we get Robert Jones got some run today with the ones at left guard.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: I ask us to first hear about it afterwards.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_01]: He said, he had a plan to kind of jumble the entire interior.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, and, but then there's injuries and he hasn't been able to do it.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: So he just pulled Cole be out and he put Jones in it left guard.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: You think Colby wins that left guard job or do you think Jones, you know, first you didn't say it was unhappy with Colby, but he said he's got some work to do.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it was almost like they were sending Colby a message and it was weird because Matt Perus had just written an article saying that Colby was going to win this left guard job hands down the next day.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: All of a sudden his Robert Jones running with the ones and Chris first you're sounding like maybe he's not necessarily sold on Colby as the starter.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do think Kobe starts week one.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think he holds onto that job.
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_00]: I also think it's very, very good to get everybody that is not Dominique Pony snaps at the left and right guard spot.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_00]: So that you can move things around if something happened because again, if God forbid something did happen to put it, you would never move Pony.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_00]: But if Dominique Pony did go down, if Robert Jones is better on the left, and Connor Colby who started his entire college career at Iowa at the right guard spot, like you can have that fluidity, and that is a great thing.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_00]: And so yeah, I don't know if you remember the game where I think it was Jalen Moore.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_00]: There was an injury to McGlenshee.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_00]: and they had to put jaylon moron at right tackle and then they let it slip uh... and the post game jaylon moron never practice right tackle for the forty-nine years and he got butchered and they were like wait what he's like yeah he's been back in a train at left tackle like so i'd like this i i think that this is a positive i still think it's colby's job to lose but moving those guys around i wish they would do it more so um... just because you need to have
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be able to let guys shoot, Austin Pleasant's taking guard snaps.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was happening this week as well.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: That is a positive.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you are a mainstay at your position, which is Trent Williams, Jake Brindle, I hate to say it.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_00]: Dominique Pune and then, you know, your right tackle, called to McKinvits, everybody else needs to be able to flow, a step in at a given moment.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't have a problem, but this is gonna be Connor Colby's job.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Matt Barrows is reporting that McCell Williams.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't think is going to be ready for week one.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: How concerned are you about that?
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: Not too concerned that injury happened almost six weeks after Bosa.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so you look at Nick Bosa where he's at.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's not on the pub, but he's definitely not fully.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's not there getting team snaps.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's very limited reps doing kind of Nick Bosa type stuff.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: six weeks time table.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_00]: Both is not even fully practicing yet.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: You look now if there was a game today, do I expect me to post it?
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_00]: Be out there, I do.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, and I don't want McCill Williams traveling to Australia on that plane ride.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you keep them on the pub.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_00]: give you an extra roster position on the initial 53 and then you bring him back after the first month of the season.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's been the timeline all along whenever you look at that traditional nine months from the ACL tier.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly where Mikhail should be.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_00]: Do not rush a 22 year old player back coming off in ACL.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_00]: This is a long term installment, a long term investment and this is not something you want to rush.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree with you.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: He looks great on the practice field, but you know what, don't rush him back.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do not rush him back.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's hit our Supers and we'll bail.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Cretzmer says which UDFA makes the 53 men roster this year.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, I want to go I want to go Wesley Grimes dude.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: I do not want to let that guy go.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: I do not want to let that guy go I'll say Eastern or Thompson, but I love Grimes as well I think that's a great call by John.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_00]: We all would have said Mikhail Kamara probably before like, but that's supposed to go Jenkins before Yeah, and both gone.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, see you this time for now
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you know, made a play today for the first time, Jalen Strowman.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's see.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_01]: From Notre Dame.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting to see what he does.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_01]: T-bone A4 says, I was also at the Yankee Sweep game in late June at Fenway Park from Vermont, lifelong Red Sox fan.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_01]: Freaking amazing, 30 and 5 since the Yankee Sweep, dudes don't want to lose, fun to watch.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_01]: OBW Yankees suck.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, by the way.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, by the way.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yankees do suck.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you that.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: John the chant in Fenway Park that night of Yankees suck had so much anger so much venom the suck part.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean you could just Yankees suck
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yankees suck.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was like little old ladies.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yankees suck.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, the hatred that Boston has for New York and New York has for Boston is awesome.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, this 30 and 5, when I was 14 years old, the 84 tigers started the year 38 and 8.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was not even 38 and 5.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: But it was an amazing run.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if you look up the best 40 game runs in Major League Baseball history, I believe that 84 Tigers are right there.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_01]: The Red Sox since I was at Fenway Park are 30 and 5.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: 30 and five.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's been amazing.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what?
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_01]: I've been wagering on them.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm up quite a bit now because I've been wagering on them every day.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_01]: And parling them into like two team and three team parlors.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_01]: Today I took Red Sox Rangers.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday I had red socks, reds, man, I mean, I've just been, I love it, but they're rolling right now.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_01]: And my nephew's a big red socks, man, Joe, if you're out there, fist in the air.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, what a night, what a night, what a place.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever been to family park?
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_00]: Several times.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_00]: I ate the red socks.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I love it there.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's an amazing park.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_00]: John Gaaltz is 440 jewels, uncollar, all right, easy, easy, they're big duck.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_01]: uh... john gults is four hundred forty jules uncollar it's two but you know what i like it they bring it began is that eight hundred eighty jules uh... i am become death destroyer words two jules equals a hundred there we go get my jewel stuff
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_01]: Steph and Niners, why do the Niners always defend Bremel with his IQ?
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_01]: I get that intellect is important for Senator, but it's not a team scout at the local chess club.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, it's like Bremel came in today and, you know, he's answering our questions, and he's looking at me like, I hate you, crew, because I'm just absolutely...
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_01]: you know, I've knocked him around verbally on these streams for a long time because I just don't see it.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_01]: He seems like a sacred cow.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_01]: I go back to the the first play of the Seattle game.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_01]: They ran a real simple loop.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_01]: He comboed blocked on, you know, birthed on the, you know, who's basically playing left guard.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_01]: And he comboed blocked on
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: and Brandl never saw me smoked perdi in the face.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_01]: The first play of the game.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, you know, come on.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he doesn't knock you out of the hole.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_01]: He can't really, they don't tell me, you know, I mean, don't tell me, show me, right?
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, that, that old say, when the Niners got to fourth and one, did they run behind Brandl?
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_01]: Did they run in the A-gaps?
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_01]: did they run at all in the middle?
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_01]: They ran.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_01]: They did them.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_01]: They did an option trick play from their full back to the sideline on the short side of the field and it got blown up for fun against one of the fastest pursuing defenses of the last 15 years.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, if they really thought that Brendle was going to blow Byron Murphy out of the hole or Leonard Williams out of the hole and they could run in the A-Gap, they would have done it.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_01]: The fastest point between, you know, direction between two points is a straight line.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to go here to there, you go this way.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_01]: You don't go around this way, and back to it.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_01]: You go this way, and they don't go this way, because they don't believe in this guy.
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it's amazing how they do it.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_01]: They don't believe in, it's funny.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Greg Cousel said it, and in the first stream, I did with him a couple of weeks ago, he's like the, the Brenda's issue is not, it's not intellect or it's the lack of strength.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's a 285 pound guy going up against 325 pound guys.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And they can't, Shanahan coaches around Brendell more than he, you know, I feel like Shanahan understands what he has, but it's like, you know what, stop coaching around your problems and fix your personal problems.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's huge.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_00]: You get what you pay for and you're paying for about the 20th best center in the NFL.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's about what he is.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretty good at past for almost the time.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody loves him.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_00]: It gets the calls right, but you got to tell me.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like his agency meld me and all kinds of stuff.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_00]: a Jake Finder, Jake Brindle Defender, never will be, I can't, the coaching me hates whenever he quits halfway through the play, and turns around and watches, don't watch, that's my thing, don't watch other people play football, play through the echo of the whistle, he quits after two seconds, and so that's why such a good PFF score guy is because he gets where he's supposed to go all the time, he just doesn't have the functional strength or the attitude to keep going, he gets there,
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_00]: uses his hands, stops turns around and the watch CMC or Brock party get destroyed.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I can't wait for Carver will us to be the starting center.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully it'll be sooner, rather than later.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_01]: The real underscore fishermen, 1000 jewels equals goat trophy.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, sir.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_01]: Stefan Niners says, do you think the Rams will have more fans at so-fi or in Melbourne at so-fi you really only see their jersey on the field?
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be Niners fans by a considerable margin, especially with like the punter, a Jack Balmester, kind of like, no, no, no, no.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_00]: The 49ers have a very, very large following in New Zealand and the Aussie faithful chapters.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_00]: They are prominent in that area.
- 1:12:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the real ram fans are mostly dead.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_01]: They hard to find one in the wild, man.
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if somebody's walking around going, man, I saw teak and shone's, I saw Merlin Olson.
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're probably at the shady rest.
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Stefan Daiders, oh, we got that one.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_01]: We got this one as well from Big Tone.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_01]: Would you sign, hey, would?
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Nice, Larry.
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_00]: Nice, big, nice.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're both big time.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_00]: Almost.
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right, John, I'll leave you with this one.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow on KMBR, we're going to be doing a segment talking about Roger Craig going to the Hall of Fame.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_01]: And Tom Rathman is going to be our guest.
- 1:12:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you could ask one question of Tom Rathman, what would be your question?
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Number 44, one of the great Niners of all time.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it would be a, it didn't be a question.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a recollection.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a, do you remember this, do you remember that?
- 1:13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know exactly.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know what I'm going to ask him because the, the last play of my favorite nine or game ever.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_01]: was Niners Bears, NFC Championship Game 1988, in Soldier Field, 28 to 3, 49ers smoked the Bears.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_01]: And it was such a deal about, it was such a referendum on the Niners' toughness.
- 1:13:37[SPEAKER_01]: All the soft Niners are not going to be able to go into the map monsters with a midway at Soldier and freezing conditions.
- 1:13:44[SPEAKER_01]: That ain't never going to happen.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_01]: Niners went there smoked them.
- 1:13:48[SPEAKER_01]: And on the last play of the game, Niners on offense, this was one of the most greatest moments ever.
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's third and 13, third and 13, and they're trying to put the game away.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_01]: And Bill Walsh ran Tom Rathman off tackle, and he went for a 14, and the first.
- 1:14:10[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody in the Bears just went.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the entire crowd took Tucktail and got out of there.
- 1:14:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is amazing.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_01]: Third and 13 and you run Rathman off Tackle for 14.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_01]: I got to ask him about it.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_01]: It put that game away.
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_01]: It was just such the ultimate exclamation point on maybe one of the greatest nine or one of all times.
- 1:14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to ask him about that.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_01]: But if you had one question for Rathman.
- 1:14:37[SPEAKER_00]: I wore Jersey number 44 because the Tom Rathman for a short time before I they moved me to line The back to full back at the back to lie the back to full wake, but I would ask him what was his favorite hit or his favorite block That he could remember that was just like that's the play because that's what stood out for me for Tom Rathman like That dude he just messed people up and I'm just I'm such a big fan 44
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_00]: I hate that the 49ers have so many jerseys retired and not other ones, because I understand the problem with football, like you have 12 retired numbers, there's 90 people on the roster.
- 1:15:18[SPEAKER_00]: How do you do that?
- 1:15:19[SPEAKER_00]: I get the problems that it sets, but it's just like, dude, how is 44 still in play?
- 1:15:25[SPEAKER_00]: How is, you know, there's so many different numbers, but dude, it's just iconic.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_00]: So excited and jealous, my friend, enjoy that, I'll be watching.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Do that.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so fired up for tomorrow.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to do it for us.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to John.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks to all of our sponsors.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_01]: The links are in the description for all of the sponsors.

- 1:16:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so the goal is every kid leaves with something and then some of the adults get to leave with stuff too.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_00]: Especially if you know the Niners.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_00]: So go get your tickets.
