- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where we left off with the Virginia Roberts deposition against
- 0:10Alan Dershowitz. Question Now, other than your conversation with Ms
- 0:16Churcher before the first Daily Mail article came out, did
- 0:19you talk to her again about where you mentioned Alan Dershowitz.
- 0:23Answer before I spoke to her. Question No, since that
- 0:26article came out. Answer, have I talked to her again
- 0:29about Alan Dershowitz. Question correct, Miss McCauley, I object to
- 0:34this line of questioning. I think I have a standing objection.
- 0:37Just to make that clear answer, Yes, I think we
- 0:40actually have. I think she read the recent, well not
- 0:43so recent, about a year ago, the statements made in
- 0:46the press, and she called me up and I told
- 0:48her that I was not allowed to discuss it. Question
- 0:51what did she say to you? Answer? She was just
- 0:53asking me about ongoing proceedings, and I said, I don't
- 0:57think I'm able to comment. I don't think it's a
- 0:59wise thing to do, especially her being a journalist. Question
- 1:03have you ever emailed with Sharon Churcher? Answer? Yes, I have.
- 1:07Question how many times? Answer? I don't know a lot.
- 1:11Question what does a lot mean to you? Answer over twenty.
- 1:15Question when was the last time you emailed with her?
- 1:18Answer probably twenty fifteen. Question do you know approximately how
- 1:22many times you emailed with her in twenty fifteen? Answer
- 1:26maybe about five? Question before twenty fifteen? Was there a
- 1:30long gap in your email? Answer yes, there was a
- 1:33long gap. Question did you email with her around the
- 1:36time leading up to the meeting that you had before
- 1:38the first da email article? Answer? I think that was
- 1:42actually phone conversations, not emails. Question after you met with
- 1:46her the first time, did you then email with her? Answer? Yes,
- 1:50then we emailed. Question about how many times? Putting aside
- 1:54the five or so in twenty fifteen? Answer about anywhere
- 1:58between ten to fifteen to share the exact number. Question
- 2:03were you emailing with her while you were living in Australia?
- 2:06Answer uh huh? Question were you emailing with her while
- 2:09you were living back in the United States? Answer uh huh?
- 2:13Question yes? Answer yes sorry. Question have you emailed with
- 2:18any other press regarding Alan Dershowitz? Answer no. Question Actually
- 2:23did your emails with miss Churcher referred to Alan Dershowitz?
- 2:27Answer no question did your emails with miss Churcher specifically
- 2:31identify any alleged sexual abuser other than mister Epstein? Answer redacted,
- 2:36that's it. Question have you had any emails with anybody
- 2:40about Alan Dershowitz Ms McCauley. I'm going to object to
- 2:44the extent that this reveals anything that you emailed with
- 2:47your lawyer. You don't have to testify to that answer.
- 2:50Besides with lawyers. No question, did you ever email redacted
- 2:54about Professor Dershowitz. Answer I'm pretty sure we had a
- 2:58phone conversation, actually no face to face conversation about him,
- 3:02and maybe some comments over the phone. But I do
- 3:05not recall sending her any emails regarding Alan Dershowitz, except
- 3:09for the text messages I sent to her after I
- 3:11learned she was talking to him, and I said, I
- 3:13don't believe you're talking to a pedophile. Other than that.
- 3:17No question, how many text messages did you send to her?
- 3:22Answer what from the time I've known her? Answer? No?
- 3:25Regarding Professor Dershowitz. Answer Max, Well, I mean the first
- 3:29one I sent to her was about him, and then
- 3:32you know, the other ones were quite simple, like you know,
- 3:35you've got two precious daughters. You know, I don't know
- 3:37if he yet was actually named in any of those.
- 3:39To be honest, I think I referred to him as
- 3:42the pedophile or a pedophile, But I mean I would
- 3:45say Max. Three. Question have you ever left her voicemail
- 3:49messages about Professor Dershowitz? Answer? I have called her well first,
- 3:53she answered, and then I said, please tell me it's
- 3:55not true that you're actually doing this, and then she
- 3:58hung up. And yes, I have called her back and
- 4:00I have left her voicemails. Nothing abusive, just redacted. What
- 4:03are you doing question? You know what? Answer? What are
- 4:07you doing? You know? Like That's what I said to her.
- 4:10That's how I talk our lingo, not know what like anything?
- 4:14But what are you doing? You know? Question? Did you
- 4:18give her any context? Or is that the entire message
- 4:21that you would have left? Answer? I don't know the
- 4:24entire message I would have left, but like I said,
- 4:27it would would not have been abusive. Question Now I
- 4:30think that you mentioned in was it Palm Beach Juana
- 4:33LESSI answer yes, question he was on the house staff.
- 4:36Answer yes, he was a butler. Question what was the
- 4:40name of the fellow? Answer redacted? Question what's redacted's last
- 4:44name answer, I have no idea. Question have you ever
- 4:48met redacted? Answer? I don't know. I mean you have
- 4:51to understand that there's a lot of house staff at
- 4:53all times, at all of his residences. It's possible I
- 4:56did come across them, but I'm not too sure. Question
- 5:00but you don't have any specific recollection ever meeting them,
- 5:02do you? Mcaulay objection answer no, Special Master, you answered,
- 5:08go ahead the witness. Sorry, Special Master, It's all right, Borgia.
- 5:13What did you do with your emails with Ms Churchier? Answer?
- 5:17What do you mean? What did I do with them?
- 5:18Did I print them out? Question? Did you keep them
- 5:20in your inbox your sundbox? Answer? Yes, they would be
- 5:24in my inbox. I mean after so long, I mean
- 5:27I had to not just delete hers, but delead a
- 5:30lot of files from my inbox. It was getting too full.
- 5:33I still have emails of hers in my inbox. Question
- 5:36do you still have text messages you sent or adacted? Answer? No,
- 5:41I've gone through my phones. That's not because of on purpose.
- 5:44My kids literally break every phone that I get. Question
- 5:48so when was the last time that you texted or adacted? Answer?
- 5:51When I found out that she was talking to Dershowitz.
- 5:54Question what's the timeframe? Answer? I have no idea. I
- 5:58think it was June of last year, June twenty fifteen,
- 6:01but that's not what I messaged her. I only messaged
- 6:04her during when I found out, which I think was
- 6:07during dershowitz first deposition when he said that he'd been
- 6:10talking about redacted. Question and then you switch phone since then? Answer? Yes,
- 6:15I have a new phone, but I have those messages
- 6:18that I sent to her on my new phone. Thereupon,
- 6:21VR defendant Exhibit number six was marked for identification Miss Borgia,
- 6:27Miss Roberts. I've handed you a document that's been marked
- 6:30VR Exhibit six, which is a thirteen page document copy
- 6:34of an article from Radar Online. Do you have that? Answer? Yes,
- 6:38I do. Question is this the Radar Online article that
- 6:42you referred to earlier in your testimony today with the
- 6:45ripped out pages from your booklet? Answer yes. Question do
- 6:49you have any understanding of how Radar Online got these pages?
- 6:52Ms McCauley objection, Answer no, not at all. Question after
- 6:57these republic on Radar Online, did you content that publication? Answer? No,
- 7:02maybe I should have, but I didn't think of it.
- 7:04Question are the excerpts here things that you wrote in
- 7:07your handwriting. Answer. Yes, question, these are the pages that
- 7:11you gave miss Churcher. Correct answer, uh huh. Yes. Question
- 7:16Are there any pages that you gave miss Churcher that
- 7:19are not reflected in the article? Answer? I mean, can
- 7:22you give me a moment to look at them? Question?
- 7:24You don't have to read the comments. I'm not going
- 7:26to ask you about them. Answer. It looks like there's
- 7:29a little bit of excerpt taken out of the pages
- 7:31that I gave to her. Question Were there any additional
- 7:34pages that you gave to her that's not printed into
- 7:37the article? Answer? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean,
- 7:41from what I can tell, it's like they've taken excerpts
- 7:43out of the pages that I gave to her and
- 7:45kind of piece them together. But if you read them closely,
- 7:48it doesn't look like every single one matches. The next question,
- 7:52what was your purpose in writing those pages? Mcaulay objection
- 7:56you can answer. Answer. You know, at the time, I
- 8:00was very let down by the United States government for
- 8:02not prosecuting Jeffrey Epstein and what I think that he
- 8:05deserved and what all his victims deserve to get from
- 8:08what he's done to us. So to me, this was
- 8:11my way of telling a small piece of my story
- 8:14to see, you know, what could do to reopen the case,
- 8:17to get more knowledge about Jeffrey Epstein, what he's made.
- 8:20Not just me, but a lot of other victims have
- 8:23to go through. Question about how much time had elapsed
- 8:27between the time when you met redacted and the time
- 8:29that you wrote the booklet? Answer? Oh, many years, many years.
- 8:34All three of my kids had been born by then,
- 8:36so we're talking. Sorry, I'm horrible at math. Roughly about
- 8:40ten years. Question in terms of your meeting with redacted
- 8:44when you went or redacted the excerpts and here said
- 8:47the two of you had grabbed a couple of alcoholic cocktails.
- 8:49Do you see that? Answer? Is that in the first
- 8:52page question? This is that page three of thirteen, the
- 8:56beginning of the text gets blocked out by the advertisement
- 9:00refers generally or redacted where you had grabbed them both
- 9:03in alcoholic cocktail, she wrote in the diary obtained by Radar. Answer,
- 9:07I do read that question. How long were you at
- 9:10the bar with redacted? Redacted or at redacted? I should say? Answer?
- 9:16I would say over an hour, but not too question,
- 9:18did you have more than one drink? Answer? I believe
- 9:21I had two drinks. I'm not too sure. I assume
- 9:24that redacted was drinking alcohol as well, but I'm not
- 9:27too sure if it was. He ordered the drinks and
- 9:29he ordered alcohol for me, so I only assumed that
- 9:32he was drinking it as well. But yes, question, so
- 9:35he went up to the bar and ordered them and
- 9:38brought them back? Answer? Yes, question. And you can't say
- 9:42what he ordered at the bar? Answer? I know there
- 9:45were both clearer drinks. I don't know exactly what mine was,
- 9:48but it was clear and alcohol. I didn't have a
- 9:51sip of his, so I don't know what it was.
- 9:53Question did you take ecstasy at this club? Answer? No question?
- 9:58And on two drinks? Did dac did have more than
- 10:01two drinks? Answer? I know I had two drinks. I
- 10:04don't know how many he had, I'm not too sure.
- 10:07Question Okay, after these were public, did you ever ask
- 10:10for the pages back? Answer? As far as I knew
- 10:13they were property of Sharon's. I think I had a
- 10:16rough conversation with her about it because I didn't know
- 10:18what these were going to get public at any time.
- 10:21There were more from between me and her. It really
- 10:24shocked me to see these in the public. So honestly,
- 10:27I didn't think that there was anything that I could
- 10:29do about it. It was already out there. Thinking about
- 10:31it today, You're right, I should have gone to Radar
- 10:34online and found out who and why and how. Question.
- 10:39I don't mean to mislead you. Sharon's name is at
- 10:42the end of the article. Answer well, I mean that's
- 10:44obvious without even reading that. I mean, she's the only
- 10:47one who had it. She's the only one who could
- 10:49have given it to them. Question why do you think
- 10:52it was her property? Answer? Because everything that I had
- 10:55given her was her property. Question why is that McCauley objection,
- 10:59asked an act answered special master. You can answer. Answer
- 11:03because everything that she told me, everything that I gave her,
- 11:06So the story was her property. The papers that I
- 11:08gave her were her property. The photographs that they took
- 11:11in me, like on the beach, and I think there
- 11:13were pictures of me on the bridge. Maybe there's a
- 11:16couple of other pictures those are her property as well.
- 11:20Question was that spelled out in the contract? Answer? I
- 11:23don't know, it probably was. It was a long contract.
- 11:26I didn't have lawyers to read it over for me,
- 11:28so I'm not too sure. Question did you keep a
- 11:31copy of that? Answer? No, Question what did you do
- 11:34with it? Answer? When I moved from Australia, I had
- 11:37a bunch of paperwork I just kind of threw out.
- 11:39I didn't bring anything with me. Question why did you
- 11:42choose to move back to the United States at the time? Answer?
- 11:45I mean, there's a couple of good reasons why I
- 11:47moved back. You know, First and foremost, I haven't seen
- 11:49my family in a long time. And secondly, I wanted
- 11:52to see something happen with I was trying to join
- 11:55the CVR case, so I was hoping by moving back,
- 11:58I would see that progress. Question what's the date that
- 12:01you move back? Answer? As far as the picture that
- 12:04you just showed me of the house, that's November. I
- 12:07think it only took me about two weeks. Actually, I
- 12:09can tell you the exact date. It was on my anniversary,
- 12:12October sixteenth, two thousand and three. McAuley. Do you need
- 12:16a break or are you okay? The witness? I'm okay,
- 12:21all right, So we're gonna wrap up right here and
- 12:22in the next episode we're gonna pick up where we
- 12:25left off. All of the information that goes with this
- 12:28episode can be found in the description box.
