- 0:16Speaker 1: Turner Glord podcast Hunters are but at Kostin Rose noted coda,
- 0:21Speaker 1: we'll have some more news on that maybe at some point.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Nebraska falls twenty one seventeen to usc I Austin. I'll
- 0:36Speaker 1: tell you what I've done in the last twenty four hours,
- 0:41Speaker 1: nothing like as far as thinking about the game, reading stuff,
- 0:44Speaker 1: listening to stuff.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Sometimes the twenty four hour rule. Have you ever heard
- 0:52Speaker 2: of that?
- 0:53Speaker 1: When when something happens and you just give yourself some
- 0:55Speaker 1: time just to digest that. I usually I will read stuff,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and we are recording Sunday night versus Monday morning this week.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Usually I'll like listen or read stuff whatever informs my
- 1:09Speaker 1: opinions and thoughts. I'll be honest, I haven't. I've just
- 1:13Speaker 1: stayed away.
- 1:14Speaker 3: From it all unfiltered Hunter here.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I've got through the initial emotions, so now I've had
- 1:21Speaker 1: some time to gather my thoughts. Opportunity missed is all
- 1:28Speaker 1: I gotta say. That's gonna be the title of the podcast.
- 1:33Speaker 1: That's the thing I keep coming back to is what
- 1:36Speaker 1: an opportunity for this program to take advantage of a situation.
- 1:45Speaker 2: To take the next step.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And we've obviously had a lot of these in the past,
- 1:49Speaker 1: not saying this is the first one, but this to
- 1:52Speaker 1: me felt like the biggest one given everything that was
- 1:56Speaker 1: going on, and we had it and we didn't.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Capitalize on it.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And I'm not going to make excuses for some of
- 2:05Speaker 1: the things that happened, because there are a lot of
- 2:07Speaker 1: things that did happen that we'll get into in this game,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but at a high level, we didn't win the game,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and it just feels like a huge opportunity that could
- 2:20Speaker 1: have been taken advantage of if we would have won,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and things would be looking very, very different.
- 2:26Speaker 2: For this program right now. How do we won the game?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yep? I again, as you know, as I approach thirty,
- 2:37Speaker 3: I guess that's when you start watching things on tape delay.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I had a wedding last night in Des Moine that
- 2:43Speaker 3: I had to go not had I got to go to,
- 2:46Speaker 3: so I did not. I did not watch the game
- 2:48Speaker 3: until this morning at seven am time change. But I
- 2:51Speaker 3: did watch it at seven am this morning. I told
- 2:56Speaker 3: my wife though last night at the the wedding, is
- 3:00Speaker 3: has anyone spoiled the game for you yet? And it's
- 3:02Speaker 3: like I haven't gotten a single text, which means we
- 3:04Speaker 3: lost close because I know, if we blew them out,
- 3:09Speaker 3: there's gonna be celebration texts. And we got absolutely destroyed,
- 3:12Speaker 3: there would be morning texts. But the close losses is
- 3:14Speaker 3: just like, I don't even want to talk about this.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I guess first, before we get into the game, I
- 3:20Speaker 3: agree with the missed opportunity. We'll talk about the specifics
- 3:23Speaker 3: of what happened.
- 3:24Speaker 1: In the game.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Overall, I thought at times we looked very impressive defensively,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and then there are a lot of times on defense
- 3:34Speaker 3: we did not look very impressive and offensively Similarly, I
- 3:37Speaker 3: guess before we get into it one, I thought the
- 3:43Speaker 3: Blackout was executed well, very well as far as the stadium,
- 3:51Speaker 3: I'm not turning on the light aight, and the towels
- 3:53Speaker 3: and the you know, the back in black. And I
- 3:59Speaker 3: don't know how well losing this game bodes for the
- 4:01Speaker 3: future of Flackout games, but I think we'll try it
- 4:05Speaker 3: again next year. But I did think it was executed
- 4:09Speaker 3: very well. Good on you, Husker fans. I've I've doubted
- 4:11Speaker 3: you and your abilities for a long time to que
- 4:14Speaker 3: the coordinate outside of wearing Husker red.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Thank you for saying that, because that was my first
- 4:19Speaker 2: thing before the game.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I wanted to call that out before I start going
- 4:22Speaker 1: on whatever path I go down here.
- 4:27Speaker 2: It was. It was very neat. It was very like
- 4:29Speaker 2: you said, well executed.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I still think people had their doubts of, oh, there's
- 4:33Speaker 1: gonna be still twenty percent Husker red in the stadium
- 4:37Speaker 1: or whatever that number was, and I'm like, I don't
- 4:39Speaker 1: think so, I really don't like this. And the more
- 4:41Speaker 1: you just the day went on, the more black you
- 4:45Speaker 1: saw and no red, and if it was any red,
- 4:47Speaker 1: it was a USC fan and I'm just like, it's like,
- 4:50Speaker 1: this is going to be electric. And walking into the game,
- 4:53Speaker 1: the student section, you know, saw some photos online before
- 4:57Speaker 1: going in, but I mean it was it was us
- 5:00Speaker 1: pitch black, and so you see some of the shots
- 5:05Speaker 1: and everything afterwards, very very good. And take sports, take
- 5:10Speaker 1: take everything about the game out of it, all, right,
- 5:13Speaker 1: what are sports?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Still? What are sports?
- 5:15Speaker 3: It's entertainment.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And while we do get I think caught up and
- 5:19Speaker 1: caring and making it our life and our passion and
- 5:22Speaker 1: and I'm very very guilty of myself going to the
- 5:27Speaker 1: extreme of that in multiple aspects of my life, but
- 5:31Speaker 1: it's still as pure entertainment and something like this is
- 5:34Speaker 1: very cool when it's well executed from an entire program
- 5:40Speaker 1: not talking anything about the game, but that it was
- 5:43Speaker 1: neat to see. Now, take all that aside, I was
- 5:47Speaker 1: what I wanted more. I'm gonna say that a little bit.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I wanted a little more with like I wanted a
- 5:52Speaker 1: moment where they shut everything off and just just let
- 5:57Speaker 1: it sit for like everyone's like it.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Would get and people just start to get start to
- 6:02Speaker 3: get loud.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, I don't It's not very obviously a
- 6:06Speaker 1: hard thing to do. I felt like that could have
- 6:09Speaker 1: been done at several points throughout, and they did do
- 6:12Speaker 1: it like randomly in the first quarter, like after a
- 6:16Speaker 1: timeout they shut everything off again and like then played
- 6:18Speaker 1: some music and it was kind of cool, Like it
- 6:20Speaker 1: wasn't third quarter style, but it was like a random point.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that was unexpected.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I just also kind of felt like the crowd, the
- 6:29Speaker 1: crowd was judged up in wild to start that first
- 6:32Speaker 1: couple of drives.
- 6:33Speaker 2: It just died off, like.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I kind of noticed that as well.
- 6:40Speaker 3: And now I obviously was as I was watching on
- 6:43Speaker 3: you know, YouTube recording. YouTube TV recording was fast forwarding
- 6:47Speaker 3: through some of the downtime but I noticed that as well.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But well, when we scored that first touchdown after like
- 6:55Speaker 3: the seven minute drive, I was like, oh man, Like one,
- 7:01Speaker 3: I was terrified, you're gonna miss the extra point because
- 7:03Speaker 3: if you missed that extra point, you killed every thing,
- 7:07Speaker 3: you know. But we had the two three and outs
- 7:10Speaker 3: and then we score that seven minutes or we had
- 7:13Speaker 3: the three and out seven minute drive, three and out,
- 7:15Speaker 3: and I was like, oh man, this place is gonna
- 7:18Speaker 3: be freaking rocking all night. And then they're then they're like, oh,
- 7:23Speaker 3: we're not gonna let Nebraska run, and we're gonna run
- 7:25Speaker 3: the ball once it started giving it to the King Miller,
- 7:27Speaker 3: like that third drive of Theirs where it's like, oh,
- 7:29Speaker 3: eight yards, twelve yards, twelve yards, ten yards, six yards,
- 7:34Speaker 3: it's like you could just hear it just oh.
- 7:37Speaker 1: No, Like so, I I don't think it's specific to Nebraska. Obviously,
- 7:47Speaker 1: every fan base gets juiced up at the start of
- 7:50Speaker 1: the game just because it's all the adrenaline anticipation that
- 7:54Speaker 1: it's not a Nebraska thing that that happened, but you
- 7:59Speaker 1: just win that we could have just kept it going
- 8:01Speaker 1: and it was ended up being a perfect night like
- 8:04Speaker 1: it it was a little brisk, but.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It was it was not cold.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it just it It felt like it was there
- 8:12Speaker 1: for the taking, and I felt like the crowd could
- 8:15Speaker 1: have it could we could have been better as as
- 8:18Speaker 1: far as just keeping the energy level going throughout the game.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And I do think that stems just the back to
- 8:26Speaker 1: all of the traumatizing moments that we've had, and it
- 8:34Speaker 1: just sucks, like it's no one's fault.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Right, you don't blame people for being like, oh no.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But but I also I also like the people that
- 8:44Speaker 1: whatever you want to call the greatest fans in college football, like,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we're still We're not.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We're not. Last night was as close.
- 8:51Speaker 1: As you're going to get to Nebraska fans being the
- 8:56Speaker 1: the thirteenth man on the field, the thirteenth man, or
- 8:58Speaker 1: the the the twelfth man or or the two man.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, the like having a being a hard place to
- 9:05Speaker 1: play in a night, marriage place to play in a
- 9:09Speaker 1: canning of the word, but being deafening all that, Like
- 9:11Speaker 1: we just don't we still don't have that for whatever reason.
- 9:14Speaker 1: We're not we're not the most intimidating place to play
- 9:17Speaker 1: even with all this stuff. And I mean that that
- 9:21Speaker 1: to me, I'm talking about the fans in general in
- 9:22Speaker 1: the atmosphere, like it was very very good and well
- 9:25Speaker 1: put on, but I just feel like it could have
- 9:28Speaker 1: been more. And I also think it's it's it's a
- 9:33Speaker 1: probatable a lot of things obviously, but I would I
- 9:37Speaker 1: just wouldn't say that we're it's not still we need
- 9:40Speaker 1: things still need to change. I think last night was
- 9:43Speaker 1: a good example of something that we can do to
- 9:45Speaker 1: help spark Memorial Stadium being a place that no one
- 9:50Speaker 1: wants to come play in. But it's not like that anymore. Obviously,
- 9:53Speaker 1: win games that helps fix that issue. But we we've
- 9:57Speaker 1: now lost twenty nine in a row to ranked teams
- 10:02Speaker 1: and that's just a fact.
- 10:04Speaker 3: It's pretty impressive, really it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's my take on the crowd in the atmosphere.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Like over overall, there, oh the game, where do we
- 10:14Speaker 1: want to go?
- 10:15Speaker 2: You mentioned the start?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it went about as perfect as a first quarter
- 10:22Speaker 1: you could ask for, really, pretty close to as good
- 10:27Speaker 1: of a first half as you can ask for. Even
- 10:29Speaker 1: on their couple of drives that they had, we held
- 10:33Speaker 1: them to field goals, which our red zone defense, as
- 10:37Speaker 1: we know, has not been great.
- 10:40Speaker 3: So even though there are a couple of times where
- 10:42Speaker 3: we bailed them though, or they build they bailed us out.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Correct.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Even then, it felt like, Okay, we're still very much
- 10:50Speaker 1: in control of this game. And from the get go,
- 10:53Speaker 1: the first couple of drives Jade and Mayabba, and this
- 10:56Speaker 1: is to the crowds credit, he was flustered. Yep, he
- 11:00Speaker 1: was not comfortable at all. I would say we got
- 11:04Speaker 1: a little bit of pressure and hurry on him. But
- 11:06Speaker 1: it wasn't like it's still Nebraska's still our d line.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It's not like it was anything that much noticeably different
- 11:12Speaker 1: from past games. He just was panicked in the pocket
- 11:16Speaker 1: and he did. One of the best quarterbacks in the
- 11:20Speaker 1: Big Ten throwing the ball. He's shown that, and we
- 11:23Speaker 1: held him to one hundred and thirty five.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yards nine of twenty four. Whatever he was like.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Early on, I was like, okay, like this is the
- 11:35Speaker 1: game plan, this is working perfectly. And then you're right
- 11:37Speaker 1: usc said, okay, well, and Lincoln Riley said in his
- 11:40Speaker 1: post game you're daring us to run it. Well, okay,
- 11:43Speaker 1: let's run it. Let's run it. And they did, and
- 11:46Speaker 1: they did again, and they did again, and it turned
- 11:49Speaker 1: into a classic, grinded, pounded out Big Ten game.
- 11:56Speaker 2: That we lost.
- 11:57Speaker 3: It was funny because USC did toothy. We were daring
- 12:01Speaker 3: them to run it, and then they started doing it,
- 12:04Speaker 3: and then we came out. We're like, we're going to
- 12:06Speaker 3: run the freaking rock and they're like, okay, well we're
- 12:08Speaker 3: gonna dare you to pass it, and then we didn't.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I you know, we'll talk about our offense, but yes,
- 12:15Speaker 3: that's exactly what happened with it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So I just it's it's frustrating then that, yes, we've
- 12:24Speaker 1: struggled to run the ball. I want to give us
- 12:26Speaker 1: credit because what was USC strength.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It was passing. We knew that coming in.
- 12:30Speaker 1: We knew our strength a secondary and we said, okay,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we'll beat us running the ball.
- 12:35Speaker 2: They did, and they kept running it.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And just this is where it's frustrating from a fans perspective,
- 12:41Speaker 1: the lack of adjustments and that we can make in
- 12:44Speaker 1: game to overcome that. USC made an adjustment, they realized
- 12:50Speaker 1: what was going on, they adjusted, and then the rest
- 12:53Speaker 1: of the game they got comfortable and did enough to
- 12:57Speaker 1: win in a game that's not a game that they
- 13:01Speaker 1: do not like to play that way, that is the
- 13:02Speaker 1: opposite of a Lincoln Riley executed game. But the fact
- 13:06Speaker 1: that they can still come out and win a game
- 13:07Speaker 1: that speaks a lot to the type of game that
- 13:10Speaker 1: it was, and that's.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Supposedly how we want to play.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But we still can't win a game like that against
- 13:16Speaker 1: team that doesn't want to play like that.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That's what's frustrating overall to me.
- 13:19Speaker 3: And I will say, you know, I have been pretty
- 13:22Speaker 3: long on our defense at times. We still did hold
- 13:24Speaker 3: them to twenty one points and they are an offense.
- 13:27Speaker 3: You know, on the broadcast they said they had only
- 13:30Speaker 3: had three three and outs in the first it was
- 13:35Speaker 3: the first five games of the year. Then they had
- 13:38Speaker 3: three against North or Notre Dame and then the first
- 13:41Speaker 3: two against US for three. So I mean it's like, okay,
- 13:45Speaker 3: like you know, you know, we held them twenty one points,
- 13:50Speaker 3: we held them to you know, under fifty passing completion
- 13:53Speaker 3: and under two hundred or one hundred and thirty five
- 13:57Speaker 3: passing yard.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's like, I'll give us credit.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We took away what they wanted to do, and that that,
- 14:04Speaker 1: to me is the number one most important thing of
- 14:08Speaker 1: defense is force the other team to do something they're
- 14:11Speaker 1: not comfortable doing. So I guess props we did that
- 14:16Speaker 1: to start, but it's like after we did that, we
- 14:19Speaker 1: didn't have any counters and counterpunches to throw back at them.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And gosh, that's what coaching is. That is what great
- 14:26Speaker 1: coaching is is keeping the other teams players and coaching
- 14:30Speaker 1: staff off balance and punch counter punch, punch, CounterPunch. And
- 14:34Speaker 1: we we threw the first punch like we have so
- 14:37Speaker 1: many games, and then when USC threw their CounterPunch, we
- 14:42Speaker 1: just took it straight to the nose and we're like,
- 14:44Speaker 1: oh shit, And.
- 14:46Speaker 3: The thing is like, it wasn't you know. I didn't
- 14:48Speaker 3: feel like bad tackling was an issue. No, I didn't
- 14:52Speaker 3: feel blown coverages were an issue. I mean we had
- 14:55Speaker 3: some bad we had some PI calls as like we
- 14:59Speaker 3: probably the you know, we gave that to them because
- 15:02Speaker 3: of poor coverage. It wasn't necessarily a great play, you know.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It was like USC tricked us into this past interferences,
- 15:10Speaker 3: Like no, our guy was in position and he had
- 15:12Speaker 3: great spot on the ball and he just goofed up
- 15:15Speaker 3: yeah too, a little too aggressive. So that was I
- 15:20Speaker 3: we just if we just had you know, I say this,
- 15:22Speaker 3: if just had, but we just need like that one
- 15:25Speaker 3: guy on the defensive line that gets pressure by himself
- 15:28Speaker 3: that where we don't have to pull that guy from
- 15:29Speaker 3: the second. I agree, we we don't get any pressure
- 15:33Speaker 3: on even though Jaden was a little bit for as
- 15:36Speaker 3: at the beginning. That's partly because the crowd and the
- 15:39Speaker 3: you know, the night in the moment, but we just
- 15:42Speaker 3: we didn't get any pressure on him. So when it
- 15:45Speaker 3: came time to start running the ball and we were
- 15:48Speaker 3: still trying to prevent the passing, we just we need
- 15:50Speaker 3: someone to disrupt that line, and we just didn't have it.
- 15:53Speaker 1: It just it is, it's just one guy up front,
- 15:55Speaker 1: like disrupt or just clogged stuff up. I thought USC's
- 16:00Speaker 1: offive lind did a pretty good job of building holes
- 16:04Speaker 1: for the USC running backs. And I thought I thought
- 16:07Speaker 1: our like you said, I thought our linebackers and our
- 16:10Speaker 1: key tacklers did a pretty good job of tackling. I
- 16:12Speaker 1: thought we rallied to the ball pretty well. And there
- 16:15Speaker 1: are several times I was like, oh shit, there's a
- 16:18Speaker 1: hole and then it only ended up in four yards.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But guess what, you can't let him have four yards
- 16:23Speaker 1: because they blew you off the line every play.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Whatever that drive was where Miller was like, it was
- 16:31Speaker 3: felt like every run was a ten yeard run. I
- 16:33Speaker 3: know there's two of those drives.
- 16:36Speaker 1: That was just like and it's not the first time
- 16:38Speaker 1: we've seen it this year. That's what sucks is it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: not like USC exploited something that was new that we knew.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Our d line struggled. It was the fact that we
- 16:48Speaker 2: didn't adjust it all to it. And maybe we don't.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I don't.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I don't know what the answer is, I don't put
- 16:54Speaker 1: more guys in the box. Well yeah, then the coked
- 16:56Speaker 1: would say, well, yeah, but then you're letting them pass
- 16:58Speaker 1: it and that's what they want to do. Well maybe
- 17:01Speaker 1: like that, that might be true, but it felt like
- 17:03Speaker 1: we maybe took the first couple of steps this week
- 17:06Speaker 1: defensively and then just didn't know where to go from there,
- 17:09Speaker 1: and then us did just enough to win.
- 17:11Speaker 3: So so yeah, okay, you know, you look at it.
- 17:15Speaker 3: We went to the game. We wanted to control time, possession,
- 17:19Speaker 3: making a messy game. We did that. You know, we
- 17:22Speaker 3: held them to twenty one points. We held them to
- 17:25Speaker 3: one hundred and thirty five passing yards on less than
- 17:27Speaker 3: fifty percent of passing. We had it, you know, we
- 17:30Speaker 3: had an interception, They had eight penalties for fifty yards,
- 17:34Speaker 3: which is almost twice as many penalties as we did.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It's like everything that you want to do to win
- 17:40Speaker 3: the game that we thought we had to do to
- 17:42Speaker 3: win the game we did and we still lost. That's
- 17:46Speaker 3: the frustrating part.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I thought, I thought we played it a pretty decent game.
- 17:53Speaker 3: It felt a little bit kind of like Michigan, where
- 17:57Speaker 3: it's like, gosh, we should have had that one.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Now even felt like more to the extreme though to
- 18:02Speaker 1: me than even Michigan. It is because we really did
- 18:06Speaker 1: play schematically better than we have all year as far
- 18:10Speaker 1: as taking away what they wanted to do.
- 18:13Speaker 2: And and and didn't do it.
- 18:14Speaker 1: The Okay, I can't believe've gone this long without saying it,
- 18:20Speaker 1: but the momentum and everything changed yep, for one play
- 18:26Speaker 1: and not for multiple reasons too. And that play we're
- 18:31Speaker 1: talking about is Dylan getting sacked, fumbling it on it.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It was right, I believe it was right after we
- 18:38Speaker 1: got the interception, and a couple of plays later Dylan
- 18:41Speaker 1: gets strip sacked. The third quarter is and any I mean,
- 18:46Speaker 1: I remember getting that ball and saying, we don't even
- 18:48Speaker 1: need to score a touchdown here, like get one first
- 18:51Speaker 1: down and make a forty five forty two yard field
- 18:56Speaker 1: goal and go up seventeen to to six.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Like that was really all I thought at that moment.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Well, then we get strip sacked, Well comes out, Dylan
- 19:04Speaker 1: gets injured, and at that time we didn't know what
- 19:10Speaker 1: it was.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Comes out of the game.
- 19:14Speaker 1: They take possession of the ball and go down score,
- 19:18Speaker 1: get the two point conversion, and right there that was
- 19:22Speaker 1: the moment that you were saying earlier of the place,
- 19:24Speaker 1: just going oh boy, because if you just felt usc
- 19:28Speaker 1: was kind of movement, but we were holding on, holding on,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and they went down and finally broke through and scored.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Dylan's now out, which we'll obviously talking a lot about
- 19:41Speaker 1: the implications of this.
- 19:44Speaker 3: For those of you listening to know, I'm sure you're
- 19:47Speaker 3: Dylan's done for the.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Year, out for the year.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Bibula, by first thought was freaking hunter last week had
- 19:54Speaker 3: to be like we need to use TJTT more. You
- 19:56Speaker 3: know what we get Okay, get more tjt T.
- 20:00Speaker 1: This This is my this is my point to this though,
- 20:05Speaker 1: with this happening and is obviously is going to be
- 20:07Speaker 1: a big conversation. I don't I did not think we
- 20:10Speaker 1: needed to start t J latif I wanted TJ the
- 20:13Speaker 1: Tief to be available for Packages to be a threat
- 20:17Speaker 1: running it, because I do not think that t J
- 20:20Speaker 1: Latif can do even half the things that Dylan does
- 20:24Speaker 1: in the passing game.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So I did not want Tej to to start.
- 20:28Speaker 1: There's obviously people out there that do and are very
- 20:31Speaker 1: anti anti Dylan, and I am still very very very
- 20:34Speaker 1: pro Dylan. I just wanted the Tief to have some
- 20:37Speaker 1: opportunities with Packages. A couple of weeks after the Minnesota
- 20:40Speaker 1: game that I said that, and yeah, now we're going
- 20:43Speaker 1: to get to see him. So right when this happened,
- 20:47Speaker 1: and this is this is just this is just Husker
- 20:50Speaker 1: fans to an extreme.
- 20:54Speaker 2: The lady right in front of us, bigger gal.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Dylan.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Someone's down. We saw after the play, didn't really see who.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We're all trying to figure out who someone's her? Who
- 21:03Speaker 1: is hell Husker player?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh who is? Oh like, I think it's Dylan. No,
- 21:06Speaker 2: it is Dylan. Yeah that's Dylan. That lady right in
- 21:09Speaker 2: front of me goes thank God about time.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I was like, oh, no, like and she so she
- 21:20Speaker 1: was obviously she's been saying. She actually said boo when
- 21:24Speaker 1: they announced Dylan Ryle's name. Also in the starting lineup.
- 21:27Speaker 2: So we just just keep in.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Mind there's dumb people like that out there that that
- 21:33Speaker 1: do that. And to me again, I just laugh, it's
- 21:36Speaker 1: entertainment because people are dumb. I'm sure this lady does
- 21:41Speaker 1: not listen to this podcast, but anyways, that was that reaction.
- 21:45Speaker 1: So someone like that is like thinking, Nebraska football saved now.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Well then as we know how the game goes on.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I initially thought too, like, okay, running.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Right now, right, this is the punch we need, like
- 22:01Speaker 3: we can feel like games turning. All of a sudden,
- 22:04Speaker 3: TJ comes out, rips out among run like okay, maybe.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I thought maybe we're like I thought this could be okay,
- 22:11Speaker 1: like we're gonna have a quarterback run game, which we did.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Uh and and TJ was able.
- 22:17Speaker 4: To got a couple first downs with his legs correct
- 22:25Speaker 4: like able to slowly.
- 22:29Speaker 2: He moved the ball.
- 22:31Speaker 3: He looks slow running. I know he's not, but I
- 22:34Speaker 3: don't know what it looked like in the stadium. But
- 22:37Speaker 3: I just particularly that run where he fumbled it out
- 22:40Speaker 3: of bounds and it didn't really matter that much, but
- 22:42Speaker 3: I was like, he just it just doesn't feel like
- 22:44Speaker 3: he's going Yeah, I know he's moving fast but he
- 22:49Speaker 3: just his motion looks because he's long and skinny.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so that happens, and then our past game is
- 22:59Speaker 1: like vanished, and I say vanished, like gone, And we
- 23:04Speaker 1: really weren't in a point in the game at the
- 23:06Speaker 1: time where we needed to pass it too much.
- 23:08Speaker 2: But it was a combination of a couple of things.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I think.
- 23:15Speaker 1: One I don't I don't don't know how good of
- 23:19Speaker 1: a passer Latif is, like I'm not sure right, but
- 23:24Speaker 1: to the coaching staff has that information and they clearly
- 23:28Speaker 1: we're not comfortable. USC's coverage was good and then has
- 23:34Speaker 1: good athletes in the secondary.
- 23:36Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I'm not going to say that if we had only
- 23:41Speaker 1: would have won that game for sure, but it just.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Definitely changes your because it went from Dylan was a
- 23:47Speaker 3: hell of a thrower, Johnson is a great runner. We
- 23:50Speaker 3: kind of had the two. You know, we can go
- 23:52Speaker 3: either or once you put in TJ. Latif, it's like, okay,
- 23:55Speaker 3: we can really freaking stack the house. Like I am
- 23:59Speaker 3: not if TJ beats us with his arm whatever, because
- 24:02Speaker 3: they knew he wasn't going to. But Dylan you had
- 24:05Speaker 3: to at least worry about that. Yes, I mean that
- 24:08Speaker 3: freaking that shoulder passed that their first touchdown pass. He
- 24:12Speaker 3: had like three balls that were right there that got
- 24:14Speaker 3: broken up or the first two that was basically the
- 24:17Speaker 3: exact same pass he hit the third time, like once
- 24:20Speaker 3: Dylan was out and TJ the threat of him passing it,
- 24:23Speaker 3: which I personally, I think they probably should have tried
- 24:26Speaker 3: a few more times. I don't know if you would
- 24:28Speaker 3: have run out you know, maybe put some more some
- 24:30Speaker 3: of the backup receivers that TJ has a better relationship
- 24:33Speaker 3: with out there, make more comfortable or something.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah, there were a couple just back shoulder type of
- 24:39Speaker 1: throws that that Dylan has thrown a lot that TJ
- 24:43Speaker 1: tried doing. It was like, oh boy, like that just
- 24:46Speaker 1: that wasn't good, which again a lot of those are timing.
- 24:49Speaker 3: But once TJ came in USC is like, we're gonna
- 24:53Speaker 3: stop Emma Johnson, and I mean they kind of did,
- 24:58Speaker 3: and it was looking tired by into that game. He
- 25:00Speaker 3: could his speed was not quite there at the end.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So I don't know, I just that that last
- 25:10Speaker 1: drive then you know, we still had a chance to
- 25:14Speaker 1: go down with the winning drive with a different quarterback.
- 25:18Speaker 2: So add it to the list.
- 25:21Speaker 1: That we've had two greens in the last two games,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and now we're taking another red Emmett slips and falls
- 25:26Speaker 1: on on fourth and two or fourth and.
- 25:29Speaker 2: One and we lose the game.
- 25:35Speaker 1: What I there's okay, let's there's there's the play calling
- 25:39Speaker 1: and the structure and design identity all that around the
- 25:43Speaker 1: team with Dylan, and then there's the situation we have
- 25:45Speaker 1: moving forward, so that we're probably wasting time now talking
- 25:49Speaker 1: about the team with Dylan because Dylan's now out for
- 25:51Speaker 1: the year.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Clearly Dana still has.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Very little, honestly faith or trust but belief that Dylan
- 26:07Speaker 1: has any sort of mobility.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And I feel like we.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Got better at trying to get balls to our playmaker's
- 26:19Speaker 1: hands quicker and avoiding sacks. And I do feel like
- 26:23Speaker 1: that was done better on a passing.
- 26:25Speaker 3: I didn't feel like I really didn't feel like their
- 26:29Speaker 3: past rush was as impactful as rightly, you know, at
- 26:34Speaker 3: the beginning of the game, they showed us, you know,
- 26:36Speaker 3: the stats of comparing the quarterbacks and it was you know,
- 26:40Speaker 3: Jaden and Dylan, and it was like sixteen passes touchdown
- 26:43Speaker 3: seventeen touchdown passes and you know, Jaden's got three interceptions,
- 26:47Speaker 3: and Dylan's got five and Jame's been sacked nine times.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Dylan is sacked twenty seven times. It's like Jesus Christ.
- 26:55Speaker 2: What I liked a lot.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I think all the passing out is that we went
- 27:01Speaker 1: back to saying we need to run the ball to win,
- 27:05Speaker 1: like it was very clear this game again. Nope, Emmett,
- 27:09Speaker 1: your game goes shine again, and we did, and Emmett did.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Emmittt shining looked good.
- 27:14Speaker 3: He did it.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Just it he gets tired, don't get me wrong, but
- 27:19Speaker 1: I you just you have to do that. Sorry, Emmett
- 27:22Speaker 1: if you're probably hurting today, but you're just you're going
- 27:26Speaker 1: to get the ball thirty times a game. That that
- 27:29Speaker 1: just is that's still going to be the game play
- 27:31Speaker 1: moving forward because you're that damn good.
- 27:34Speaker 2: And he he did did a great job. Again.
- 27:37Speaker 1: It just I'm not blaming he slipped on the lack
- 27:39Speaker 1: of being tired, but he just he he runs so
- 27:42Speaker 1: hard and I said it before. What he's so good
- 27:47Speaker 1: at is his burst and agility after a sharp cut,
- 27:50Speaker 1: like he he looks like a mirror Abdullah, like the
- 27:54Speaker 1: type of runner that he does. That's what he looks like.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Running the ball so Anyways, he he very much is
- 28:00Speaker 1: is gonna be the key focus and was this week again.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I mean even Dylan's debt staff before he got injured.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I mean they they weren't. They weren't great. It's gonna
- 28:11Speaker 1: be a very EJ focused offense moving forward, which I
- 28:16Speaker 1: think is a very good. Man what a great I
- 28:19Speaker 1: think it's very good. I think Dame is Dame that
- 28:22Speaker 1: your job's up, like it's time for you to show
- 28:26Speaker 1: how you can adjust now to a very very different
- 28:29Speaker 1: style of quarterback, very different style. And I'm not blaming
- 28:35Speaker 1: the coaching staff really for this, but unfortunately your offensive
- 28:40Speaker 1: scheme around a Dylan based team and the TJ team
- 28:43Speaker 1: is not going to look the same, and it shouldn't
- 28:45Speaker 1: look the same. They are two different skill sets and
- 28:48Speaker 1: that's what we recruited to so.
- 28:52Speaker 2: That that also.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's a problem then when you try to throw a
- 28:56Speaker 1: guy in into a system that is not really fit
- 28:59Speaker 1: to ranks and you're now asked to go win a
- 29:02Speaker 1: game like that, that's difficult. So yeah, I guess it
- 29:05Speaker 1: is on coaching and recruiting because that's what you elected
- 29:09Speaker 1: to go with with Dylan, and now you have do
- 29:13Speaker 1: with three games left, in the year probably change. Now
- 29:17Speaker 1: you're not You're not going to overhaul everything, but you're
- 29:19Speaker 1: gonna have to design stuff and get a freshman quarterback
- 29:23Speaker 1: feeling comfortable doing some different things. And I think there's
- 29:28Speaker 1: a lot of ways you can do that. But that
- 29:30Speaker 1: that also is something I was hoping going into the
- 29:33Speaker 1: year we were going to have more of that running
- 29:35Speaker 1: type quarterback because Dylan his body was right and he
- 29:38Speaker 1: lost some weight.
- 29:38Speaker 3: And he did he ran on that first drive.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he did six yards six yards run. God, he's still.
- 29:47Speaker 3: I would sit, you know, for you know, two of
- 29:49Speaker 3: those six yards were him falling forward. Also worth pointing
- 29:54Speaker 3: out TJ fumbled it three times.
- 29:56Speaker 2: And yeah, that that was evident.
- 30:00Speaker 3: So does not feel good. He I mean, he's a
- 30:03Speaker 3: true freshman, and obviously the expectations for the season changed
- 30:08Speaker 3: a little bit when your star quarterback goes out. But gosh,
- 30:14Speaker 3: he did look like a true freshman. He looked every
- 30:17Speaker 3: you know, one hundred and fifty pounds and the three fumbles.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I saw that he does.
- 30:24Speaker 1: He just looks small. I noticed that, dude on the TV.
- 30:28Speaker 1: They're on the big screen, they're at the game.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know. I don't know the
- 30:37Speaker 2: add to the roller coaster. Baby. It just I don't
- 30:41Speaker 2: know where this leads us for the rest of the year.
- 30:45Speaker 3: You know, it definitely changes what I mean, it changes
- 30:50Speaker 3: your perception of you know, if we end the year
- 30:52Speaker 3: of seven eight wins, it changes how you feel about it.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It does, think so it does. But I don't want
- 31:00Speaker 2: it to. Here's here's what I don't want.
- 31:02Speaker 1: The only thing that I'm not only thing, but the
- 31:05Speaker 1: big thing I'll be looking for is I don't want
- 31:07Speaker 1: it to be an excuse. I don't I don't want
- 31:11Speaker 1: to hear the coaches. I just I don't want to
- 31:15Speaker 1: hear it from the players about I'm not saying that
- 31:18Speaker 1: everything is obviously is the same under a backup quarterback
- 31:22Speaker 1: or I mean, we can talk about our offensive line,
- 31:24Speaker 1: how you know, numerous backup guys have played there, but
- 31:29Speaker 1: we're not. We don't cut the offensive line slack for
- 31:31Speaker 1: being second stringers and most of the time like we
- 31:34Speaker 1: shouldn't be doing it. For the quarterback obviously is a
- 31:36Speaker 1: very key position. That should not be an excuse though,
- 31:40Speaker 1: of how this season ends. And that, gosh, that's what
- 31:42Speaker 1: scares me for the program. You finished seven and five
- 31:46Speaker 1: and people are gonna say, well, if we would have
- 31:48Speaker 1: had Dylan, we would have went No, I don't I
- 31:50Speaker 1: don't think so, Like, we have a good opportunity to
- 31:54Speaker 1: still go win these next three games with TJ at
- 31:57Speaker 1: the quarterback, if if we if we do things the
- 31:58Speaker 1: right way and we coach, you know, guys are in
- 32:01Speaker 1: the right state of mind, and we play physical football,
- 32:05Speaker 1: were tough, we run the ball, we stopped the run,
- 32:08Speaker 1: like that's what these teams are gonna do. And we
- 32:10Speaker 1: said USC is probably the best one of these four teams,
- 32:13Speaker 1: or people thought that. I don't know, Like that's probably
- 32:16Speaker 1: still true. So these games are still very important and
- 32:22Speaker 1: we still have a good chance to win all of them.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I think the line moved about four points today when
- 32:28Speaker 1: the news came out about Dylan from when it opened,
- 32:31Speaker 1: which it opened, I mean, I think it opened.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I saw in USC wanted to happen, then I saw
- 32:37Speaker 1: US wanting to happen. Then right after the news broke,
- 32:40Speaker 1: it went to like USC to three and LA is
- 32:43Speaker 1: every time. Sorry, yeah Ucla. Replace all those with UCLA
- 32:49Speaker 1: and now it's yeah, it's UCLA minus three right now.
- 32:52Speaker 1: So like, yeah, Dylan obviously helps us win a week.
- 32:58Speaker 3: We have a week to work with TJ. And in
- 33:01Speaker 3: the whatever, Houston Christian, I mean he threw the ball. Well,
- 33:06Speaker 3: I think it's there. It's not Dylan level.
- 33:08Speaker 2: But and obviously the opponent's very different. Yes.
- 33:14Speaker 1: What I think is super nice though, is you have
- 33:15Speaker 1: a little bit of an element of surprise now with
- 33:18Speaker 1: TJ and sorry Dana and coaching staff. But it's kind
- 33:23Speaker 1: of a lose lose situation for you. Like our offense
- 33:28Speaker 1: looks shitty, you still look like bad coaches. If TJ
- 33:32Speaker 1: comes out and we actually have some good offense.
- 33:34Speaker 2: You're gonna pep.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You're gonna hear the Dylan haters out there, and it's
- 33:38Speaker 1: gonna say, well, we should have been playing this guy
- 33:40Speaker 1: all along, and look if this does to our offense,
- 33:42Speaker 1: and blah blah blah blah blah. Like it's kind of
- 33:45Speaker 1: a loser situation, but that's your job still to go
- 33:47Speaker 1: out and win games.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Like I don't.
- 33:50Speaker 1: People aren't gonna bitch and complain if we win these
- 33:52Speaker 1: last three games, you lose them. It's a lose lose
- 33:55Speaker 1: situation for whatever reason, so you better find a way
- 33:58Speaker 1: to win them.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, well, yeah, there's really no if yeah, it comes
- 34:04Speaker 3: out silly wins two of the next three, it's like, well,
- 34:08Speaker 3: now you have to deal with a little Dylan TJ fan.
- 34:14Speaker 3: You know, you really don't because I think most people.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Internally it's gonna be yeah, the fans, oh.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and the fans and the media and the media like.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Great, that's true. You then you come out, you lose,
- 34:27Speaker 3: you know, two of the next three, and all of
- 34:29Speaker 3: a sudden, everyone's like, man, you guys, you guys need
- 34:32Speaker 3: to do better as coaches.
- 34:33Speaker 1: And it's not it's unfortunate, but it's just the world
- 34:39Speaker 1: we live in, and that's why they get paid the
- 34:40Speaker 1: big bucks. It is like that that that is why
- 34:44Speaker 1: you're paid to coach, and and you get an extension,
- 34:46Speaker 1: that's that that's gonna be your job and to navigate
- 34:48Speaker 1: through all of this.
- 34:49Speaker 3: It's which you did get the official two year extension.
- 34:51Speaker 3: I don't know if we ever we talked about We
- 34:54Speaker 3: didn't know any details when we talked about it on Thursday,
- 34:57Speaker 3: but Matt Rule did get a two year extension.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, good point. We didn't we didn't go through
- 35:04Speaker 2: the details of it.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I almost briefly say this I I don't disagree that
- 35:11Speaker 1: you have to give an extension, had to give an extension,
- 35:13Speaker 1: But I also think, like if you still think rules
- 35:16Speaker 1: the right guy and and part of me, you know,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I still think he is like you had to do it,
- 35:21Speaker 1: which is just unfortunate.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I will say now knowing that you have to do
- 35:25Speaker 2: it or had to do it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: In terms of it, I really really really appreciated.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I thought the.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Structure of it was very very.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Yeah, because you're not gonna you can't pay him less
- 35:40Speaker 3: at any point.
- 35:41Speaker 2: No, and you don't. I love it.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I just thought it was very well done. I just
- 35:45Speaker 1: do it together for the purpose that need to be
- 35:48Speaker 1: done for. It was put together well given the situation.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Hey, you guys, if you want to leave Matt, we're
- 35:55Speaker 3: gonna get paid. Yes, So that I I that goes
- 36:01Speaker 3: to show that Matt does want to stay here. He's like, yeah,
- 36:05Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I don't want to screw you
- 36:06Speaker 3: guys over if I end up leaving.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Austin.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I'm just this is my It just it scares the
- 36:13Speaker 1: living hell out of me. I can already see it.
- 36:16Speaker 1: I can already see it. If we well we probably
- 36:20Speaker 1: will be We're probably gonna be underdogs.
- 36:22Speaker 2: In our last three games, and we finished six and six,
- 36:27Speaker 2: and people, all people are gonna say, is we had Dylan,
- 36:34Speaker 2: we might have been all right.
- 36:37Speaker 1: And unfortunately the reality is this locker room kind of
- 36:41Speaker 1: is just over everything, like and then we are stuck
- 36:48Speaker 1: with rule here for a couple more years of six
- 36:50Speaker 1: and six and seven and five and seven and five
- 36:53Speaker 1: and until in twenty twenty seven we decide, Okay, this
- 36:58Speaker 1: is complacent, this is we need more, or we fire him,
- 37:01Speaker 1: like I just have this bad feeling, this is that
- 37:04Speaker 1: that's the path we're going down. And we just then
- 37:07Speaker 1: blame and make excuses for why we're still seven and
- 37:10Speaker 1: five and six and six and someone got hurt or
- 37:13Speaker 1: and when I say we, I'm talking about me, and
- 37:15Speaker 1: the coaches will say it, the media will say it
- 37:18Speaker 1: until the point that we don't aren't okay with it,
- 37:20Speaker 1: and then we gets dragged on and I just I
- 37:23Speaker 1: hate it.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I if you can see it, if you can predict
- 37:26Speaker 1: that future, then don't let it happen. But we just
- 37:30Speaker 1: gonna win two the next three, I agree. And it
- 37:33Speaker 1: starts as obviously still a very winnable game.
- 37:36Speaker 3: If they're all winnable games. IWA doesn't score a lot
- 37:39Speaker 3: of points historically, U C l A is a winnable game.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Totally all right, Well got through it.
- 37:54Speaker 3: We made I kind of liked.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I kind of like the raw motion thoughts from it.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I made it. I don't know, more fun.
- 38:04Speaker 3: There you go.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't get mad. I didn't get mad
- 38:06Speaker 1: at people's comments. Let's just say that, besides a lady
- 38:09Speaker 1: that sat in front.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Of me at the game, there's a bummer that Dylan's
- 38:13Speaker 3: out really here though.
- 38:14Speaker 2: It does, it really does. It sucks.
- 38:16Speaker 3: It takes a little one now yourselves not that again,
- 38:20Speaker 3: not that I don't think that we should be able
- 38:21Speaker 3: to win these games, but definitely just it takes away
- 38:25Speaker 3: a little level of comfort of like, Okay, I know
- 38:27Speaker 3: i'm gonna get a good quarterback play.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna throw a random prediction. Now, I'm gonna
- 38:32Speaker 1: hit you at a question percentage chance that Dylan Royole
- 38:36Speaker 1: is our starting.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Quarterback Week one next season.
- 38:41Speaker 3: I assume from a pure injury perspective, it should be healed.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I don't know that for a fact.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Yeah, make whatever assumptions you can on.
- 38:48Speaker 3: That, But.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Ninety two pay we'll check in on that. I'm I'm
- 38:59Speaker 1: at I'm at.
- 39:02Speaker 2: I'm at eighty eighty five.
- 39:03Speaker 3: But yeah, it's pretty low. I feel like Emma Johnson
- 39:08Speaker 3: is gonna transfer or I think he's gonna go to
- 39:10Speaker 3: the draft. I think here.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I think so too, my depending on how this year
- 39:18Speaker 1: goes and finishes, I think a funny thing I wouldn't
- 39:24Speaker 1: my mind wouldn't have been here. But if we go
- 39:26Speaker 1: six and six, I would have said, Dylan is probably
- 39:27Speaker 1: getting the hell out of here because he thinks he
- 39:31Speaker 1: can be playing somewhere else. Now, if we go six
- 39:34Speaker 1: and six, he's I think he's staying more because because
- 39:37Speaker 1: he didn't play, because because he's gonna say, well, yeah,
- 39:40Speaker 1: I'm the reason why we only won six.
- 39:42Speaker 2: We would have won eight or nine if I would
- 39:44Speaker 2: have played.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I mean, I honestly think we would have beat USC
- 39:50Speaker 3: if he stayed up right.
- 39:51Speaker 2: The whole game.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I really do think that. I know it's not how
- 39:55Speaker 3: a shook out, and I can't prove that, and I'm
- 39:58Speaker 3: a dumb Husker fan, and of course I believe we
- 40:00Speaker 3: would have win, but I feel like we're really in
- 40:02Speaker 3: control of the game. Then he breaks his leg and
- 40:05Speaker 3: drops the ball.
- 40:09Speaker 2: TJ.
- 40:10Speaker 1: If we play well with TJ, and it is because
- 40:13Speaker 1: he has a running aspect to it and we win
- 40:14Speaker 1: games because of it, oh god, it's gonna get ugly.
- 40:19Speaker 2: And Dylan might just say f this like he might.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Which might be fine if that's how If the reason
- 40:25Speaker 3: he left is because TJ played so all the last
- 40:27Speaker 3: three games of the year, it's like, Okay, maybe we're
- 40:29Speaker 3: in a better spot than we thought we were.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so it'll be interesting. Like I said, let the
- 40:34Speaker 1: roller coaster continue, let it continue, Okay.
- 40:38Speaker 2: We'll be back.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Husker basketball Smart Night six seven, seven pm. I think
- 40:45Speaker 1: BTN plus West Georgia. By the way, if you haven't
- 40:49Speaker 1: listened to it already, the Nebraska basketball preview episode is
- 40:54Speaker 1: also out there.
- 40:56Speaker 2: With this episode, so check that out.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Women's volleyball still one defeated and set play in the
- 41:02Speaker 3: Big Ten.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And I think this might have been the last team
- 41:06Speaker 1: Wisconsin on Friday Friday that could have challenged this guy.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I was just texting people Wednesday, it's just so boring
- 41:14Speaker 1: to watch like we just obliterated team.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I was telling I was telling Maddie, I want us,
- 41:20Speaker 3: I really want us to lose one. I'm just I
- 41:24Speaker 3: you the pressure builds when all of a sudden, it's
- 41:26Speaker 3: like we haven't dropped a set in Big ten play.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Then you go to the Big ten tournament.
- 41:31Speaker 2: What's wild is like, how like we're just that good?
- 41:35Speaker 1: Right?
- 41:36Speaker 2: Like like possible that. I guess what's weird about it?
- 41:39Speaker 3: Like the Organ game today, there was like it was like,
- 41:41Speaker 3: oh man, we're down by one late in set two,
- 41:44Speaker 3: it's like seventeen sixteen, look out, and then we ripped
- 41:47Speaker 3: a six point you know, six point run and okay,
- 41:51Speaker 3: won that set by five points. Like they're really freaking good.
- 41:59Speaker 1: I did you talk about a good problem to have?
- 42:02Speaker 1: I mean, coaching a team like that is not easy.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I mean, for the for your end goal of winning
- 42:07Speaker 1: a national title, like keeping people motivated and not complacent. Uh,
- 42:12Speaker 1: it's it's very difficult. But Danny's doing that in a
- 42:16Speaker 1: very very good way so far.
- 42:20Speaker 2: And I mean it just.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Looks like all their girls are having fun and enjoying
- 42:23Speaker 1: it but still kicking ass while doing it.
- 42:28Speaker 3: No, we're yeah, they're killing it.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Go grad gb R
- 43:12Speaker 3: And Tricatri
