- 0:09[UNKNOWN]: Well, welcome, and everyone do this edition of Bird's 365 exclusively presented by Fritz and B. and Kooley, and also the wild ones as we come to you on this Thursday.
- 0:21[UNKNOWN]: We made it in the Thursday, Johnny Mac, before leading into football Friday, good conversation all week despite, I think, what normally and traditionally,
- 0:34[UNKNOWN]: is a real dead zone, you know, where there's a lot of downtime during this during this period before we get out into camp.
- 0:46[UNKNOWN]: But there are still storylines out there that have
- 0:50[UNKNOWN]: created opinion and created conversation, created fallacy, created perception and everything else.
- 0:58[UNKNOWN]: So I'm glad that we're able to continue the dialogue and have some conversation on the platform here on birds 365.
- 1:07[UNKNOWN]: Good morning, sir, how are you?
- 1:09[UNKNOWN]: Good morning.
- 1:10[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, this is the time of year.
- 1:12[UNKNOWN]: And I think you see it across the league, but most notably last night overnight,
- 1:19[UNKNOWN]: This is what teams dread, the GMs, the coaches, you get that call, and one of your players is in trouble.
- 1:29[UNKNOWN]: That's what the downtime is sort of almost like a parent.
- 1:35[UNKNOWN]: You don't want that call, and Terian Arnold got arrested.
- 1:39[UNKNOWN]: The Detroit Lions quarterback on some really, really
- 1:49[UNKNOWN]: Oh, that would, you know, obviously, forget about ruin his career, ruin his life, you know, as much as life in prison if the allegations are proven.
- 2:01[UNKNOWN]: That's, that's as far deep down the rabbit hole you can go in that aspect of it.
- 2:08[UNKNOWN]: But you know, it is interesting because he was the first round pick and the same year's Quinion Mitchell.
- 2:14[UNKNOWN]: He and Quinion Mitchell were the two best corners
- 2:20[UNKNOWN]: And most, most rat experts had Arnold slightly above Mitchell, mainly because he played at Alabama, where his Mitchell played at Purdue, so that factors into a lot of things, very gifted guy.
- 2:35[UNKNOWN]: But, you know, the Eagles had a choice.
- 2:38[UNKNOWN]: They were both on the board when the Eagles chose, and they chose right.
- 2:42[UNKNOWN]: They chose Quinion Mitchell, and that was even before this,
- 2:50[UNKNOWN]: Arnold's been okay, but he hasn't been a great plan and Detroit Quinions already in all pro in the second season has been basically lights out.
- 2:59[UNKNOWN]: So there's an example of of how things can turn negatively for one scene positively for another, but how small that margin of error is.
- 3:13[UNKNOWN]: And the dead time of year, you know, I always
- 3:18[UNKNOWN]: always bring up, you know, grew up in Catholic school, um, you know, the one thing I said I mentioned at the Zander last week, you know, I'm not the most religious guy in the world.
- 3:32[UNKNOWN]: But one thing that always stuck with me was, I don't hands, it's, it's the devil's workshop.
- 3:39[UNKNOWN]: For some reason, it always stuck with me.
- 3:42[UNKNOWN]: It always stuck with me.
- 3:44[UNKNOWN]: Basically, you know,
- 3:48[UNKNOWN]: You're more likely to get in trouble.
- 3:50[UNKNOWN]: If you don't have some kind of structure, some kind of place to be, some kind of purpose.
- 3:57[UNKNOWN]: And when NFL players obviously are in the facility, they have to go to work every day, they have to watch film, they have to go to practice.
- 4:06[UNKNOWN]: There's more likely that they're gonna tow the line so to speak.
- 4:12[UNKNOWN]: And now, if a son, you got a bunch of young people
- 4:16[UNKNOWN]: enormous amounts of money going away and do left to their own devices for six weeks and sometimes bad things happen and this is this is a really bad situation for Turian Arnold in the Detroit lines, but just an example of what that dead period is.
- 4:42[UNKNOWN]: young people or sometimes immature have a lot of money left to their own devices.
- 4:49[UNKNOWN]: Well, I got to tell you.
- 4:52[UNKNOWN]: And just for full clarity, I didn't see the story before we came on.
- 5:02[UNKNOWN]: I don't need to see the story.
- 5:03[UNKNOWN]: And I don't want to convict the process before it all plays out.
- 5:07[UNKNOWN]: But I don't get it.
- 5:08[UNKNOWN]: I mean, I really don't.
- 5:23[UNKNOWN]: whether they are right or whether they are wrong.
- 5:29[UNKNOWN]: If you are willing, it's what I always told the boys, have always told my kids, if you are willing to see what the consequences will be.
- 5:41[UNKNOWN]: And you still want to make that decision.
- 5:45[UNKNOWN]: That's on you.
- 5:46[UNKNOWN]: Be responsible for your decision.
- 5:51[UNKNOWN]: You want to drink when you're young and you're under age, you make the decision.
- 5:56[UNKNOWN]: But make that decision knowing that you are accountable and responsible for the decisions that you make.
- 6:05[UNKNOWN]: And here we sit on a daily basis, talking about the Eagles and the NFL and the accolades
- 6:22[UNKNOWN]: this big conglomerate of players that make up the national football league and put them into a different place of reality than most or all of their fans.
- 6:45[UNKNOWN]: And given that responsibility that comes with that,
- 6:50[UNKNOWN]: They don't have the an individual does not have the ability to not succumb, to bullshit, to temptation, to driving crazy, to robbery, whatever the case may be, it doesn't make
- 7:17[UNKNOWN]: disrespect for what has been provided from the God-given talents that you've received.
- 7:25[UNKNOWN]: And, well, that's, I mean, it's, it's, it's, I'm sorry, it's all on that, but that's just how I think it is.
- 7:33[UNKNOWN]: Now, yeah, it's, you know, as far as this, I mean, this is really out there, evidently,
- 7:40[UNKNOWN]: cherry an Arnold believe that certain people stole a significant amount of money and goods from him and hired some people to lure the people that he thought stole and essentially kidnapped them and, you know, beat them up and
- 8:09[UNKNOWN]: you know, it's 23 years old talking about $250,000 or that was the allegation.
- 8:17[UNKNOWN]: You know, how many 23 year olds have $2,250,000 of goods to worry about or to be concerned about.
- 8:26[UNKNOWN]: I, you know, I, I try to give a wide birth because I know I was an idiot when I was 23 as opposed to
- 8:37[UNKNOWN]: um, not, you know, in the level of making mistakes that luckily are, are life-changing, you know, never made a major mistake, but you do a lot of stupid things when you're younger and you learn from them, hopefully.
- 8:54[UNKNOWN]: Um, you know, then when you throw money into it, it becomes even bigger
- 9:00[UNKNOWN]: And that's why these teams, all these teams, and you talk about challenge quarters, done nothing wrong, you know, and I'm not, I'm saying, since he's been in Philadelphia other than,
- 9:14[UNKNOWN]: Again, in mature things, spitting on Dak Prescott on the field.
- 9:17[UNKNOWN]: Well, that might be embarrassing.
- 9:19[UNKNOWN]: That might be immature, certainly worthy of the game suspension he had.
- 9:26[UNKNOWN]: But, you know, it's not a life-altering mistake, you know, you have that kind of stuff.
- 9:34[UNKNOWN]: And, you know, the Eagles are, you know, they want to invest.
- 9:41[UNKNOWN]: 100 million dollars into that particular player, you know, that's a difficult question to ask when you're talking about that kind of investment.
- 9:55[UNKNOWN]: In the case of Terry on an Arnold specifically, there was no red flags in his background.
- 10:02[UNKNOWN]: So I mean, it's not a perfect science either.
- 10:12[UNKNOWN]: And, and when you're dealing with that kind of investment, like I said, it, these are really difficult decisions for organizations to make.
- 10:24[UNKNOWN]: And you do it blindly a lot, you know, that's what Dom's job is.
- 10:38[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, not to that, you know, obviously high profile he's become sort of a brand on his own, but yeah, everybody's got a head of security who's responsible to investigate players who might have, you know, some issues in their background.
- 10:57[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, everybody's at that level where they have that.
- 11:00[UNKNOWN]: I'm does more than that.
- 11:02[UNKNOWN]: You know, yeah, it's like a jack of all trades.
- 11:05[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, the minute the player, the minute the player arrives and fill it up, it's all, you know, gets out of the, you know, gets out of the luxury boss or has picked up at the, picked up at the airport.
- 11:17[UNKNOWN]: And again, I'm only making an observation from what I see from afar.
- 11:20[UNKNOWN]: I could be, I could be wrong, but there's this immediate,
- 11:26[UNKNOWN]: either introduction or connection or established chain or protocol for players incoming players and again maybe I'm wrong I would think the narrative would be anything that
- 11:55[UNKNOWN]: on the guy.
- 11:56[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that like I said, he's, you know, he's everything from, you know, investigating backgrounds to, you know, he's got good relationships with local law enforcement in the case of, you know, something happened, speeding ticket that type of thing.
- 12:16[UNKNOWN]: Um, you know,
- 12:24[UNKNOWN]: You know, just the other week at, you know, during OTAs when who are Bernard and Josh Weirou were both, you know, international players coming from Nigeria.
- 12:39[UNKNOWN]: I had to do some paperwork.
- 12:42[UNKNOWN]: You know, you have these government obviously, you know, work visas and things like that.
- 12:47[UNKNOWN]: They had to do paperwork and Dom someone taking them.
- 12:55[UNKNOWN]: He does so much for the organization, and that's why he's got 17 titles, but if you want to boil it down to the most important one, it's probably the investigation part of you're looking guys who have right flags in the background, and you want to figure out as best
- 13:24[UNKNOWN]: You know, there's a, there's a big difference.
- 13:26[UNKNOWN]: And I always use jail and car, because jail and car just got this reputation because of what happened in college.
- 13:32[UNKNOWN]: He's actually a very polite young man.
- 13:38[UNKNOWN]: He's, you know, he's like, I always say, it's not alcohol, he made a big mistake in college.
- 13:49[UNKNOWN]: And hopefully it learns from it, but he's not, you know, he's not out there on the FBI's 10 most wanted list.
- 13:56[UNKNOWN]: He's not a bad guy.
- 14:00[UNKNOWN]: What's he like Johnny Mack when you go, you know, when you're in the not not not not on the podium, but you know, when you get while you're still out to go in the locker room, you know, when you go in the locker room.
- 14:14[UNKNOWN]: or use you do a lot of one-on-one is also for SI and for everything else.
- 14:19[UNKNOWN]: You know, what is, you know, what's Jalen Carter like?
- 14:22[UNKNOWN]: I mean, pretty precise.
- 14:24[UNKNOWN]: That's very, very pretty sharp guy, but big, loveable bear.
- 14:28[UNKNOWN]: What's he, what's he like on a, you know, when it's, I know it's business interaction, but, but it is a part, you know, it, a one-on-one scenario or a one-on-one conversation with a reporter and a player is different than a press conference.
- 14:43[UNKNOWN]: What's that like when you have that when you when you've talked with Jalen Carter in that type of setting?
- 14:51[UNKNOWN]: Like I said, extremely polite, extremely polite for a young person nowadays, especially one who's you know, again has the money that he does has the back of the leads that he does
- 15:10[UNKNOWN]: uh... very very humble person uh... just very nice person no no red flags and i'm not i wouldn't say that about everybody and i'm not going to say it about the people i wouldn't say it about but like he's the opposite of what he's portrayed as in a lot of ways
- 15:34[UNKNOWN]: You know, I remember when we're down in New Orleans and I wasn't there, so with some of the other guys telling me they went to they went to launch.
- 15:45[UNKNOWN]: And you know, was jailing Carter in a couple other players were at the same chicken spot and, you know, jailing Carter's the one way even them over, you know, saying hi to the, not the other guys.
- 16:05[UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I think people would be very surprised just how nice a person, Jalen Carter is just on every day basis, but it's perfect.
- 16:20[UNKNOWN]: He's a perfect example of, you know, don't don't portray somebody who made a mistake and automatically assume they're a terrible person.
- 16:30[UNKNOWN]: Because I, you know, I'm not defending the mistake.
- 16:33[UNKNOWN]: He made a very bad mistake, very poor judgment as many Georgia players have done when it comes to speeding and racing.
- 16:46[UNKNOWN]: But like, you know, he's not, you know, it's not alcohol.
- 16:55[UNKNOWN]: Not a bad, not a bad person.
- 16:58[UNKNOWN]: What's he like, John, what Johnny, what's he like with?
- 17:02[UNKNOWN]: from what you've been able to observe and I'll get often in a minute, but I'm just curious now because that's one of the stories you're going to give the guy 100 million or whatever the case may be.
- 17:14[UNKNOWN]: What's he like amongst his teammates, you know, the guy's that he's on the going to war with when he's on the field, is there, you know, is it a connected relationship
- 17:31[UNKNOWN]: more of an individual thing, do you have ever had a chance to make that observation about him?
- 17:39[UNKNOWN]: What's obviously very close with the Georgia guys and Jordan Davis who has been a long-term long-time teammate dating back to Georgia?
- 17:50[UNKNOWN]: He's obviously very close to those guys.
- 18:01[UNKNOWN]: The gaggle where everybody puts the microphones and TV cameras in your face.
- 18:07[UNKNOWN]: He likes to do things off to the side.
- 18:10[UNKNOWN]: He doesn't want 20 reporters there.
- 18:17[UNKNOWN]: So, you know, I think there's some guys who have big personalities like give you a per an example of a big personality.
- 18:27[UNKNOWN]: great guy with a big personality was darey sleigh is darey sleigh obviously not here anymore, but tremendous teammate.
- 18:39[UNKNOWN]: But he has this month I mean just this monster personality just loud engaging happy.
- 18:48[UNKNOWN]: It's going to talk shit to you.
- 18:52[UNKNOWN]: Rubbs people are wrong way.
- 18:54[UNKNOWN]: You don't know him.
- 18:55[UNKNOWN]: You know fans who see him brag or be bragged those, just sometimes don't like it.
- 19:04[UNKNOWN]: But at his quarries, like a really good teammate, I always tell the story that when Devon Allen, the track star from Oregon came to try to be a receiver when he first got here,
- 19:18[UNKNOWN]: You happen.
- 19:19[UNKNOWN]: He was still doing track at the time.
- 19:21[UNKNOWN]: You know, the pen relays were going on in the off season.
- 19:24[UNKNOWN]: And he was going to run in them.
- 19:27[UNKNOWN]: And slay got together a bunch of teammates to go down and support him and he had just gotten here.
- 19:32[UNKNOWN]: You didn't know anybody.
- 19:34[UNKNOWN]: But, you know, team captain.
- 19:38[UNKNOWN]: Trying to, you know, embrace them into the organization.
- 19:43[UNKNOWN]: So that's an example of of of Darius slay.
- 19:49[UNKNOWN]: being the big loud, outspoken, but still a really good guy underneath, and Carter's like the opposite of that.
- 20:00[UNKNOWN]: He's very shy, right, polite.
- 20:07[UNKNOWN]: And I think that surprises people, surprises most people.
- 20:14[UNKNOWN]: Well, I imagine then based on that, I imagine the Eagles are, I imagine the Eagles know that.
- 20:21[UNKNOWN]: So I don't necessarily know if the narrative floating around that says, you know, the Eagles aren't going to invest.
- 20:35[UNKNOWN]: Well, that is important.
- 20:37[UNKNOWN]: I mean, they're, they're, because they don't, because he spit on that because they don't like Eric.
- 20:42[UNKNOWN]: Right.
- 20:42[UNKNOWN]: I, they're a question to do with it.
- 20:45[UNKNOWN]: It has nothing to do with it at all.
- 20:47[UNKNOWN]: That's not, that's not a, that's not, that's not a factor or a variable or a concern by a franchise.
- 20:54[UNKNOWN]: This is a money decision.
- 20:56[UNKNOWN]: This decision with jail and Carter is going to come down to, can we do it if we do it?
- 21:02[UNKNOWN]: Every action has a reaction, if we give him the money, what's the fall out to give him the money, you know, versus if we don't give him the money, what do we do with the money?
- 21:12[UNKNOWN]: That's, that's as pure as that decision's going to be.
- 21:15[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's got to do about his health coming off last season with the shoulder issues and the PRP therapy and his consistency from from week to week on the field.
- 21:26[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I don't think.
- 21:30[UNKNOWN]: The direct press got thing is even entering the equation of this position.
- 21:37[UNKNOWN]: Even, you know, and they already as far as for the people won't let the Georgia stop go and the tragedy go there.
- 21:46[UNKNOWN]: I mean, they already made that decision.
- 21:48[UNKNOWN]: They drafted them.
- 21:49[UNKNOWN]: So they're not going back to that.
- 21:52[UNKNOWN]: They already drafted them.
- 21:57[UNKNOWN]: So, and there was one issue with Target where his girlfriend shop-lipped at something, but he was involved.
- 22:07[UNKNOWN]: So, you know, you got to be careful about the company he put, again, young people,
- 22:20[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think the decision with Jalen Carter has to do with his health mainly and is he going to reach the level as a player that people project him to be.
- 22:33[UNKNOWN]: Because honestly, people kind of overrate him a little bit at this stage.
- 22:38[UNKNOWN]: Like they look at Jeffrey Simmons and Chris Jones and I say, well, Jalen Carter should get more than that.
- 22:42[UNKNOWN]: Well, not from it.
- 22:43[UNKNOWN]: I mean, those guys are far more
- 22:50[UNKNOWN]: as individual players.
- 22:54[UNKNOWN]: So that's what the question has to do with Jalen Carter.
- 23:02[UNKNOWN]: Health, consistency from week to week, and the other contracts, you know?
- 23:11[UNKNOWN]: in what other contracts one health to a consistency three if those are the top three if those are the top three variables that are factoring into the back room conversations without with how he and the brass and and Jeffrey and everybody else what's the order of that is it is it is it health or contract
- 23:34[UNKNOWN]: Well, health is number one because, you know, obviously if their doctors are telling them that this is an issue, that's number one, and they have information we don't have, and then contract would be secondary, but I mean, if the doctors are saying, he's never going to be the same.
- 24:03[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 24:04[UNKNOWN]: That trumps everything.
- 24:06[UNKNOWN]: I mean, we won't know the answer to that.
- 24:09[UNKNOWN]: We can speculate.
- 24:10[UNKNOWN]: I guess that we can speculate as to whether that, whether it is or it isn't, but is that a possibility that the reason, the organization or the reason how we
- 24:34[UNKNOWN]: I think more than just a surface concern about the injury, there's a concern that the injury is worse or deeper than thought and maybe he'll be drastically hindered.
- 24:52[UNKNOWN]: I don't know, I'm just asking the question.
- 24:57[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, it's not, it's obviously going to play.
- 25:01[UNKNOWN]: It's not career ending.
- 25:02[UNKNOWN]: He's showing himself lifting in the gym.
- 25:09[UNKNOWN]: He wasn't able to lift weights last season.
- 25:14[UNKNOWN]: The pain got so bad.
- 25:15[UNKNOWN]: Now we're showing himself lifting 400 pounds.
- 25:18[UNKNOWN]: So it's gotten better.
- 25:23[UNKNOWN]: So I finally, so I think it's career threatening, is a career shortening.
- 25:28[UNKNOWN]: You know, AJ Brown got traded from the Titans because of his knee.
- 25:34[UNKNOWN]: They didn't want to pay him because they didn't know how long his career would be go with the degenerative knee.
- 25:40[UNKNOWN]: He got trapped in the second round because of his knee.
- 25:45[UNKNOWN]: And here we are years later and he's already been a three times second team all pro,
- 25:54[UNKNOWN]: dominant receiver for seven seasons in the NFL and teams are still saying, well, how long can it go though with that knee?
- 26:04[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, still going.
- 26:08[UNKNOWN]: It's still going to
- 26:15[UNKNOWN]: The New England Patriots aren't worried about what he did for the Tennessee Titans in the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 26:21[UNKNOWN]: They're worried about what he can do for them.
- 26:24[UNKNOWN]: So it's right for them to be concerned about the longevity in other teams as well.
- 26:36[UNKNOWN]: But it's an example of
- 26:39[UNKNOWN]: You know, this is a guy who's already played at a high level, as I said, for seven consecutive seasons, basically that there were concerns on draft night about his knee being degeneratively damaged and it is.
- 26:59[UNKNOWN]: And eventually it will probably end this career, but if it goes 10, 11 years at this level.
- 27:08[UNKNOWN]: It's a success, but it still doesn't mean your doctors aren't going to be worried about it.
- 27:17[UNKNOWN]: birds 365 on a Thursday morning shout out to everyone joining us here on the Jacob sports network.
- 27:26[UNKNOWN]: Don't forget to like, smash the like button and subscribe if you're a new viewer to the longest running and most successful and most powerful to our daily Eagle show in the
- 27:47[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, absolutely, and it's not me, by the way, Xander Krauss, normally now in the chair, in today four of what of his celebration, the pictures have been amazing.
- 27:59[UNKNOWN]: I think he's spending a lot of money.
- 28:02[UNKNOWN]: It looks that way anyway.
- 28:04[UNKNOWN]: He's rocking a new, he's rocking a new hat in Italy.
- 28:10[UNKNOWN]: No, it is not a kango, you know.
- 28:14[UNKNOWN]: So a lot of good stuff, and I'm sure.
- 28:18[UNKNOWN]: And I'm hopeful that he is not checked in to,
- 28:24[UNKNOWN]: the Jacob sports network, so.
- 28:28[UNKNOWN]: I'm interested to see if he meets any Eagles fans in Italy, because they seem to be all over the place.
- 28:35[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he was the video he sent yesterday is the daily traditional drive of the pope.
- 28:52[UNKNOWN]: outside the cathedral where everyone, where everyone gathers and the pope comes through the pope mobile just like he did when he was just like he was in just like the pope did when they were when he came to Philadelphia, I'm not Pope Lee, I'll but when the pope came to Philadelphia.
- 29:08[UNKNOWN]: And I'm old enough to remember when the pope didn't need a pope mobile.
- 29:22[UNKNOWN]: right there.
- 29:23[UNKNOWN]: He could reach up and touch Pope Leo if Pope Leo could reach him from the Pope will be him and Emily.
- 29:31[UNKNOWN]: We're literally standing right there.
- 29:36[UNKNOWN]: Fly Park says and there's watch in the show.
- 29:40[UNKNOWN]: Right now.
- 29:41[UNKNOWN]: I hope not.
- 29:43[UNKNOWN]: I hope you're wrong, but he might be if he's not watching it live, he might be sneaking in and watching it.
- 29:50[UNKNOWN]: But anyway, so good stuff today.
- 29:53[UNKNOWN]: Johnny Mac on birds 365.
- 29:57[UNKNOWN]: We're starting to
- 29:59[UNKNOWN]: I was doing my prep for the Eagles Daily Show for my Eagles Daily Show as well before we came on.
- 30:13[UNKNOWN]: Let me just see if I can find this one story and the one, I just wanted to get your comment on it.
- 30:27[UNKNOWN]: I'm sure you saw it, I'm sure you shared the story.
- 30:31[UNKNOWN]: The Bryce Huff conversation from, I guess he was on a podcast.
- 30:43[UNKNOWN]: And essentially, trashed the eagle fan base.
- 30:58[UNKNOWN]: his lack of performance after he got the big deal his huge drop off from the jets to the Eagles, his scratch of the Super Bowl and of course now I don't he's not in the league.
- 31:13[UNKNOWN]: I think he started his own company and he's not he's not retired.
- 31:18[UNKNOWN]: Yeah retired and he's not playing football anymore
- 31:28[UNKNOWN]: are at fault for the Bryce Huff demise.
- 31:32[UNKNOWN]: Do you know why we would be or why the fan base would be?
- 31:35[UNKNOWN]: I obviously, the fan base isn't responsible for his demise, but I mean, when things don't work out and people look to, for excuses, I mean, look, they will shit on you if you're not performing well, and that's what happened.
- 31:54[UNKNOWN]: And they can be,
- 31:57[UNKNOWN]: overbearing and they can be over the top and, you know, some people can handle it.
- 32:05[UNKNOWN]: Some people can't.
- 32:07[UNKNOWN]: You got to have a thick skin.
- 32:08[UNKNOWN]: You know, Kelsey said, you got to have a thick skin plan filled up you.
- 32:13[UNKNOWN]: Um, there's no doubt about it.
- 32:15[UNKNOWN]: And he doesn't have it.
- 32:19[UNKNOWN]: But no, I mean,
- 32:21[UNKNOWN]: And the fans are not responsible for anybody.
- 32:24[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, great.
- 32:25[UNKNOWN]: That's a good place of the good players, the failures of the poor players.
- 32:32[UNKNOWN]: But I mean, it is a difficult place to play when you're not producing.
- 32:38[UNKNOWN]: And you do start to get the criticism because it can be, we look at Kevin Patulo last year and people are egging his house and he's got kids
- 32:51[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you know, it goes sometimes it goes overboard.
- 32:57[UNKNOWN]: And that's that spared a point out, but anybody saying, oh, I didn't perform because of the fans.
- 33:04[UNKNOWN]: I mean, that's ridiculous.
- 33:07[UNKNOWN]: You know, it's situation where I think, you know, it's,
- 33:14[UNKNOWN]: coming off a son retic when there's a lot of talk, a lot of goofy conspiracy talk about a son retic, which has been, you know, where did those people go, but I digress.
- 33:24[UNKNOWN]: But when a son retic had his great season in 2022, and wanted to be paid like one of the best edge wrestlers in football, the Eagles didn't want to pay him like that, because they didn't think he was that type of player.
- 33:43[UNKNOWN]: And, you know, they eventually had to trade them to the jets where you also held that because they didn't want to redo his deal.
- 33:56[UNKNOWN]: You know, they're trying to find this sort of mid range guy who played for 15 million but couldn't rush the pass or.
- 34:04[UNKNOWN]: try to do it, and I've had these great pressure numbers from the Jets for two consecutive seasons.
- 34:12[UNKNOWN]: And he had 10 Sacks in 2023.
- 34:15[UNKNOWN]: And it just didn't work out.
- 34:18[UNKNOWN]: I mean, Big Fansio didn't like him as a player.
- 34:25[UNKNOWN]: I knew he was upset that he was basically, you know, a healthy scratch in the Super Bowl because he had been playing even though, and I used that term because he broke his hand or something.
- 34:39[UNKNOWN]: So, you know, he wanted to be involved even though he wasn't going to contribute much.
- 34:49[UNKNOWN]: And for whatever reason, they went in a different direction.
- 34:56[UNKNOWN]: any was better in San Francisco last year certainly.
- 35:00[UNKNOWN]: So he just wasn't a fit for Big Mangeo.
- 35:06[UNKNOWN]: And it didn't work.
- 35:08[UNKNOWN]: And he's obviously bitter about it.
- 35:10[UNKNOWN]: But no, that the fans can't control his performance on the field.
- 35:14[UNKNOWN]: I mean, that's silly.
- 35:17[UNKNOWN]: Wonder why Fangio, why didn't Fangio like them?
- 35:21[UNKNOWN]: Well, he's not, Vic likes more well-rounded players.
- 35:25[UNKNOWN]: So I mean, it's, I think the presumption was, well, he can rush the pass or just go rush the pass or he's not very good against the run.
- 35:34[UNKNOWN]: He's not very good if you have to drop in the coverage, which Vic wants his edge defenders to do every once in a while.
- 35:42[UNKNOWN]: It wasn't good at that, and he prefers more well-rounded players.
- 35:51[UNKNOWN]: And it's just, you know, how we made the decision and you know, Vic got to look at him and Vic's got the cashier to say, I don't care how much you paid him.
- 36:03[UNKNOWN]: I'm not playing him.
- 36:05[UNKNOWN]: Basically.
- 36:08[UNKNOWN]: Does he got any better options?
- 36:11[UNKNOWN]: And he was right, obviously.
- 36:13[UNKNOWN]: They won the Super Bowl.
- 36:14[UNKNOWN]: Jalexon is a rookie got him up to speed.
- 36:18[UNKNOWN]: Um, Nolan Smith was back and Tories triceps again in the Super Bowl, but he just felt more comfortable with those guys.
- 36:28[UNKNOWN]: And Yeah, didn't work out, but what's worse, why he's going on the podcast, you know, I mean, everybody can get a microphone and say what they want to say, but Yeah, it's silly to blame your performance on the fans.
- 36:44[UNKNOWN]: It's silly.
- 36:45[UNKNOWN]: Well, you still got paid and he's a Super Bowl winner.
- 36:47[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's got a ring, it's got a ring.
- 36:49[UNKNOWN]: Although, yeah, they ask them about that.
- 36:51[UNKNOWN]: I mean, you know, it's cool to have, I guess, but, you know, when you don't contribute, it's probably not something you're terribly proud of, but some don't be surprised if you see it on eBay, or even no one got, you know, in the ensuing years, but now it's a very smart guy
- 37:18[UNKNOWN]: very, very smart person and didn't have to retire.
- 37:25[UNKNOWN]: I think Eagles fans, and obviously now it'll be even worse.
- 37:28[UNKNOWN]: I mean, he was he was a contributor in San Francisco.
- 37:33[UNKNOWN]: And Robert Sal was there back there, who had him with the jet.
- 37:39[UNKNOWN]: So it was more comfortable.
- 37:41[UNKNOWN]: They knew how to utilize him better.
- 37:43[UNKNOWN]: And he could have continued playing.
- 37:47[UNKNOWN]: but really smart guy.
- 37:50[UNKNOWN]: I forget the business.
- 37:51[UNKNOWN]: I have to look it up to him, but it's a lithium battery.
- 37:54[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
- 37:55[UNKNOWN]: It's pretty.
- 37:56[UNKNOWN]: It's, you know, he's.
- 37:59[UNKNOWN]: So he'll be bought for a billion at some point.
- 38:02[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 38:03[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 38:04[UNKNOWN]: He's going to do fine.
- 38:05[UNKNOWN]: He's going to, he's, he's going to do fine.
- 38:07[UNKNOWN]: Well, leave us out of a dammit.
- 38:09[UNKNOWN]: We didn't, the Eagle fans didn't do anything.
- 38:12[UNKNOWN]: You know, no, they didn't do what they didn't do anything other than if you're going to be fair.
- 38:18[UNKNOWN]: which I try to be on this show, they will pile on players that they think are underperforming and go over the, you know, over the line.
- 38:28[UNKNOWN]: Kevin's the best example of that, I mean.
- 38:32[UNKNOWN]: You know, starting quarterbacks, an example of that, you've got to split right down the middle of, you know, jail and lovers and Oh yeah, well, the quarterbacks, no matter what, say not a one, the quarterbacks, you're, you're, you're always going to have that.
- 38:46[UNKNOWN]: I just don't believe that you have that.
- 38:51[UNKNOWN]: I don't think you have the magnitude of the division.
- 38:59[UNKNOWN]: of on the starting quarterback in other markets, like you have here, I think you have a segment of the market that is a jail and I, because that's what they're being called by the way, I'm a jail and hurts guy.
- 39:24[UNKNOWN]: I think what Jalen Hurtz has done with this organization and the success that Dave had and his ability to make a difference in win games is hard to beat.
- 39:36[UNKNOWN]: And then you have the other side of the equation or the other side of the fan base that
- 39:53[UNKNOWN]: needs to be forty-one hundred yards and twenty-eight touchdowns or whatever they would what whatever the numbers are don't even know whatever the numbers are whatever the top numbers are you know uh... for the top five quarterbacks of the top three quarterbacks or whoever you put up there but i don't know if there is as much angst against a quarterback
- 40:24[UNKNOWN]: on one side, and, for example, deck press cut in Dallas, and you would know John more than I would, do, is there a side of the Dallas Cowboy fan base that,
- 40:44[UNKNOWN]: hates or doesn't want to.
- 40:46[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's a wrong word.
- 40:48[UNKNOWN]: Unquestionable.
- 40:50[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I mean, I want that press got to be the starting quarterback.
- 40:53[UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah.
- 40:55[UNKNOWN]: I mean, I, yeah, I just agree with.
- 40:57[UNKNOWN]: Now, if you ask my opinion, North East teams, so you're talking Philadelphia, New York,
- 41:13[UNKNOWN]: Baltimore, and some Chicago, there's a perfect example in the Midwest, but sort of that mentality that are more passionate markets.
- 41:30[UNKNOWN]: So it's probably a little bit elevated as opposed to some other markets.
- 41:37[UNKNOWN]: But hey, I was not in Green Bay, but I was very close to Green Bay for a long time.
- 41:46[UNKNOWN]: And I remember there was a stretch where Brett far about the height of his career.
- 41:56[UNKNOWN]: And people in Green Bay, which is probably the nicest band base in the country.
- 42:02[UNKNOWN]: If you're gonna judge it by that,
- 42:07[UNKNOWN]: Not Thai, a coy, but now which one did the Eagles have?
- 42:11[UNKNOWN]: I'm mixing up my debt mers.
- 42:14[UNKNOWN]: So it is Thai, I believe.
- 42:18[UNKNOWN]: Brett Fawrf, because, you know, they failed the playoffs a couple years and they think the back of quarterback is all that.
- 42:29[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it jailens not unique in any stretch of imagination.
- 42:36[UNKNOWN]: Well, more Jackson right now, involved more.
- 42:39[UNKNOWN]: Two-time MVP, but hasn't won.
- 42:44[UNKNOWN]: People shittin' all over him.
- 42:47[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, the organization's not.
- 42:49[UNKNOWN]: The organization, there was come talk on the... Oh, I'm talking about, I'm talking about that.
- 42:56[UNKNOWN]: You were talking about the fan base and the jail and nights and you have it.
- 42:59[UNKNOWN]: I'm just really, on the more, it's funny to mention to him.
- 43:02[UNKNOWN]: But, you know, the conversation yesterday, the guy is, er, about to give him, was it the more?
- 43:12[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 43:13[UNKNOWN]: It was, it was flowers.
- 43:17[UNKNOWN]: Jackson are about to get stratosphere deals say flowers is about to get a deal from the from the Ravens that's going to push him to $35 million a year.
- 43:35[UNKNOWN]: Well, that's that's that's that's probably him mistake, but now I mean a couple of years ago when
- 43:46[UNKNOWN]: There was this huge even to the point that people accused the league of collusion because nobody was going to go after Lamar Jackson on the open market and try to prime away from Baltimore and they ultimately gave him the contract.
- 44:15[UNKNOWN]: You know, there's a lot of revisionist history which Alan Hertz, I mean dating back to 2022 when the Eagles were trying to get Russell Wilson to consider them and just Sean Watson to consider them.
- 44:29[UNKNOWN]: And now, you know, so the organization has it been full bore on jail and Hertz all the time.
- 44:37[UNKNOWN]: I freely admit that, but the same thing involved more.
- 44:43[UNKNOWN]: You know, it's a, it's a very difficult position and it's only becoming more, because it's not in the case of, it'll immerse specifically, it's not, you know, Baltimore knows that can't find anybody better, obviously.
- 45:02[UNKNOWN]: But again, do you want to pay.
- 45:08[UNKNOWN]: The superstar, the two-time MVP who hasn't been able to get you over the top, $60 million or do you want to go pay, I don't know, pick a, pick a, a samedarnal type, maybe Mac Jones is a guy I brought up, he's going to be a free agent next year.
- 45:27[UNKNOWN]: Do you want to pay that guy, $25 million and build your roster up better around him?
- 45:33[UNKNOWN]: That, that's what the question is.
- 45:37[UNKNOWN]: with all these high level quarterbacks now that that things have gotten so expensive at that position.
- 45:47[UNKNOWN]: That that's what it's about.
- 45:50[UNKNOWN]: Not nobody in Philadelphia.
- 45:52[UNKNOWN]: I'm not talking about the fans.
- 45:54[UNKNOWN]: I'm talking about the organization.
- 45:57[UNKNOWN]: This likes Jalen Hurts
- 46:09[UNKNOWN]: nobody thinks that.
- 46:13[UNKNOWN]: But that's like in contract parlance, that's like basic arithmetic versus the calculus you got to do to build a roster.
- 46:25[UNKNOWN]: That's what it's about.
- 46:27[UNKNOWN]: So,
- 46:28[UNKNOWN]: You know, when Patrick Holmes, I said to Zander on this show and I stand by it when he just signed his latest extension and now Kansas City's on the hook for 182 million guaranteed.
- 46:45[UNKNOWN]: He's starting one years old.
- 46:46[UNKNOWN]: He's coming off a serious injury.
- 46:48[UNKNOWN]: He's now up to $64 million for an average annual value.
- 46:53[UNKNOWN]: Everybody's like, well, yeah, he's Patrick Mahomes.
- 46:55[UNKNOWN]: He's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
- 46:58[UNKNOWN]: I wouldn't pay him that.
- 47:00[UNKNOWN]: I wouldn't pay him that.
- 47:02[UNKNOWN]: Probably get fired, but I wouldn't pay him that.
- 47:05[UNKNOWN]: How to freak him, I got a build by roster.
- 47:12[UNKNOWN]: So all these guys, that press got 60.
- 47:16[UNKNOWN]: Joe Burrow, in my opinion, one healthy, and he's not often healthy, best quarterback in football, 55.
- 47:23[UNKNOWN]: Josh Allen, 55, Jordan love 55.
- 47:26[UNKNOWN]: Trevor Lawrence, 55, Matt Stafford.
- 47:29[UNKNOWN]: Was the best quarterback in football last year, but he's 38 years old.
- 47:34[UNKNOWN]: I'm paying $55 million.
- 47:36[UNKNOWN]: Jerry Goth, great quarterback,
- 47:43[UNKNOWN]: and then you get down to Herbert's 52-5 and Lamar's 52 and Jalen Hertz's 51.
- 47:50[UNKNOWN]: Those are your $50 million quarterbacks.
- 47:54[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and the alternative to that.
- 47:57[UNKNOWN]: The alternative to that is you just saw him win the Super Bowl.
- 48:04[UNKNOWN]: And by the way, win 14 games too, because at E1, he's won, you talk about winning,
- 48:12[UNKNOWN]: You know, everybody says, well, Jalen Hertz wins.
- 48:15[UNKNOWN]: I'm going to pick on you here, Kraussie.
- 48:17[UNKNOWN]: That's what you say.
- 48:17[UNKNOWN]: Well, Jalen Hertz wins.
- 48:19[UNKNOWN]: Sam Darnes won 31 games over the last two years.
- 48:25[UNKNOWN]: With two different teams.
- 48:30[UNKNOWN]: 31 games.
- 48:33[UNKNOWN]: And they're paying them 33 and a half million dollars.
- 48:41[UNKNOWN]: exception, not the rule.
- 48:44[UNKNOWN]: Well, it's exception.
- 48:45[UNKNOWN]: And until you think about it from the standpoint, like a sand Arnold better than any of those, you know, we see better than the homes, Prescott, Burrow, Allen, Jordan, love, Trevor, no, he's not.
- 48:59[UNKNOWN]: But he's good enough to where he can build
- 49:10[UNKNOWN]: When you're dead, that's what people should be talking about.
- 49:17[UNKNOWN]: It's the money ball approach.
- 49:18[UNKNOWN]: If you watch, I always quote that movie because I think it's a great movie, legitimately great movie, but it also teach you a lot of things about sports.
- 49:28[UNKNOWN]: And one of the things is Jonah Hill is plays Peter Brand, who's not a real person, but sort of a collaboration of people.
- 49:35[UNKNOWN]: I think it's the greatest quote.
- 49:40[UNKNOWN]: is they're trying to buy players, your goal as an executive should be trying to buy wins.
- 49:46[UNKNOWN]: Not players, wins, that's what your goal should be.
- 49:53[UNKNOWN]: So, you know, the Seattle Seahawks just money balled themselves to a Super Bowl championship.
- 50:06[UNKNOWN]: That's, that's what people, but you can't, you can't convince the average fan that, well, you, you take a lesser quarterback to build the rest of your team, that's a tough PR road.
- 50:22[UNKNOWN]: That's that, that's the difficulty with pro sports as a whole because you have to do it the open.
- 50:28[UNKNOWN]: In other words, if you were a private company and nobody was paying attention every decision
- 50:36[UNKNOWN]: and build a juggernaut.
- 50:39[UNKNOWN]: But here you got to deal with all the questions.
- 50:46[UNKNOWN]: Like I say all the time with Arnold, and I got shit on the show for saying last year when he was in Minnesota, I go, I voted for that guy at an MVP vote.
- 50:57[UNKNOWN]: I voted, I believe I voted for him fourth.
- 51:01[UNKNOWN]: He won 14 games, but they lost in the playoffs and everybody's a Sam Darnl team.
- 51:06[UNKNOWN]: He's shit in the playoffs.
- 51:07[UNKNOWN]: No, he didn't.
- 51:08[UNKNOWN]: They're offensive line.
- 51:09[UNKNOWN]: Couldn't block the Rams defensive front.
- 51:11[UNKNOWN]: He got sack nine times.
- 51:13[UNKNOWN]: And I said, Minnesota should sign him and fix their offensive line.
- 51:18[UNKNOWN]: And they're often running.
- 51:20[UNKNOWN]: They made the worst personnel decision in 20 years.
- 51:23[UNKNOWN]: I said it on this show.
- 51:25[UNKNOWN]: because they dripped a JJ McCarthy with the 9th or 10th pick or whatever it was.
- 51:30[UNKNOWN]: And they had a quarterback in the building.
- 51:36[UNKNOWN]: You can say, I'll take that statement.
- 51:39[UNKNOWN]: I don't know, I don't know, I'll play it right now to your quarterback and fill it off you.
- 51:44[UNKNOWN]: If you have a difference as you got to pay the quarterback and fill it off you twice the money almost.
- 51:51[UNKNOWN]: That's the difference.
- 51:54[UNKNOWN]: So, can you know, if you don't, then what does it look like?
- 52:04[UNKNOWN]: There's nothing about another Sam Darnall that's coming in for 35 million.
- 52:10[UNKNOWN]: Is there?
- 52:11[UNKNOWN]: Maybe.
- 52:13[UNKNOWN]: Oh, who?
- 52:15[UNKNOWN]: Who uh, I mean, who's the 30 million, you know, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my,
- 52:43[UNKNOWN]: You know, those are the type, and I think the NFL is going to go this way as a whole.
- 52:51[UNKNOWN]: Soon, I can't tell you when, but I think they're going to start to realize.
- 52:58[UNKNOWN]: These high level quarterbacks are getting paid too much.
- 53:05[UNKNOWN]: For years, I've been thinking they'd go to college throughout the old column, not now, but, you know, when.
- 53:11[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, if you were a high profile college organization, you know, Alabama, Georgia, whatever, you knew you had to roll over every four years, no matter what.
- 53:23[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you know, limited time.
- 53:25[UNKNOWN]: So you, you, you, the great programs were able to do that, even though they were changing quarterbacks.
- 53:36[UNKNOWN]: I see the NFL heading that direction.
- 53:40[UNKNOWN]: Where I don't see that at all is my effect.
- 53:44[UNKNOWN]: I see the more, there's a difference.
- 53:47[UNKNOWN]: The more money that comes into the NFL coffers.
- 53:54[UNKNOWN]: And the bigger the monster gets, which let's, you know, we can be honest and agree on that.
- 54:07[UNKNOWN]: flowing into the NFL, just from you, see here's the difference.
- 54:15[UNKNOWN]: Everything else and gambling and everything else John is beyond, well, gambling, that's not that, you know.
- 54:24[UNKNOWN]: I'm not saying, when I say gambling, I just mean the ability for either owners to own a share of draft kings or whatever it is, but it's not, it's a, it's a capley.
- 54:35[UNKNOWN]: So the only thing that matters is what revenue is allocated towards the cap and what the cap is.
- 54:43[UNKNOWN]: Now the cap is going up yes because of the TV deals and it's going to continue to go that way for the foreseeable future so the bigger number is that cap is is the increase of the cap.
- 55:01[UNKNOWN]: based on a formula of receipts.
- 55:05[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
- 55:06[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
- 55:07[UNKNOWN]: So the more the TV contracts go up, the more the cap is going to go up.
- 55:11[UNKNOWN]: Right.
- 55:12[UNKNOWN]: So the bigger numbers, the percentage of the cap going to the quarterbacks is long as that stays steady.
- 55:21[UNKNOWN]: you're fine.
- 55:22[UNKNOWN]: But let's, like you lived, and obviously you're an eagle span and you lived through the eagle's success with Jalen Hertz, which I get and I get it from in Eagles fan perspective.
- 55:35[UNKNOWN]: So, but one of the things Eagles fans, or at least the ones that love Jalen Hertz will point out, is that he doesn't get enough respect because
- 55:48[UNKNOWN]: You know, unlike other than Patrick Behomes and Matthew Staffer, none of these other quarterbacks of one, the DAC press got to the world, the Joe Burroughs, he made it, but he didn't win it, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Gough actually,
- 56:18[UNKNOWN]: You know, close, but no cigar, Brock Perti, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, then none of them of them have won.
- 56:32[UNKNOWN]: So in a lot of ways, and that's some people, you know, you do have to give how we
- 56:44[UNKNOWN]: The way he's been able to have to give Jeopard honestly, you have to give you even Jeopard Lori more the credit because he's the one spending the cash up front to have all the stead money and be willing to take that on.
- 57:01[UNKNOWN]: You know, we haven't discussed the yet, maybe we can get into a chef and claim did a good piece on Julian Lori.
- 57:08[UNKNOWN]: You know, Jeff's not going to be here.
- 57:14[UNKNOWN]: He's 74 years old.
- 57:15[UNKNOWN]: He's not going to be here forever.
- 57:18[UNKNOWN]: None of us are, but there's a reality of 74-year-old owners that sometimes light gets in the way.
- 57:29[UNKNOWN]: So he continues to move on.
- 57:32[UNKNOWN]: What does it look like under Julian?
- 57:34[UNKNOWN]: Well, if you read that piece from Jeff, it's 90% of it is positive.
- 57:45[UNKNOWN]: one little caveat in there that jumped out to me, and that was, he's already heavily involved in the team, and he's taken a strong interest in the purse book in the pocket book.
- 58:15[UNKNOWN]: and you're not willing to spend all this money and take on all this dead money, if things go poorly and put money in escrow for these long term monster contracts, things change overnight.
- 58:34[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, why would he?
- 58:36[UNKNOWN]: I mean, why would he wanna do that?
- 58:40[UNKNOWN]: I mean, listen if you listen I'm a Yankee span look at the difference between George Stein Brenner and Hank Steinbran and look at the result yeah so if and that's my point if if the body of work for your presuming his goal is to win that's jeopardy that's jeopardy Lori's goal that might
- 59:08[UNKNOWN]: It might be to run a very profitable business might be his business model and I bring that up for it and I have no idea, but I bring that up because Jeff had mentioned over the past couple years, one of the things that in a cap world.
- 59:37[UNKNOWN]: or the personnel department, the football executives, the football ops department, and the personnel department.
- 59:44[UNKNOWN]: There's no salary cap.
- 59:45[UNKNOWN]: So you have organizations like Cincinnati who skimped in Washington who has skimped under Daniel Snyder, now changing a bit, under Josh Harris, and they got five people doing the work of 30 people, the Eagles might have.
- 1:00:04[UNKNOWN]: Well, one of the things Howard Roseman has done in recent years is he's hired these XGNs to come in to, you know, advise him, and all of a sudden, they've called the leaves.
- 1:00:22[UNKNOWN]: All of a sudden out of the blue, his top captain, Jake Rosenberg leaves a couple of years ago.
- 1:00:29[UNKNOWN]: And we're all saying, well, Jake got started his own company,
- 1:00:33[UNKNOWN]: And we said, all right, he's looking for a new challenge and all of a sudden the guy who replaced Jake Rosenberg, please for Atlanta.
- 1:00:48[UNKNOWN]: And now they have Grant Reiter.
- 1:00:51[UNKNOWN]: And I can tell you the difference between the salary of Jake Rosenberg when he left and the new guy.
- 1:01:03[UNKNOWN]: minimal.
- 1:01:07[UNKNOWN]: And this is what Julian's in charge of.
- 1:01:09[UNKNOWN]: This is what Jeff put at the back end of that piece of people want to read it.
- 1:01:17[UNKNOWN]: In the case of, you know, how he has had Matt Russell and he had Dave
- 1:01:29[UNKNOWN]: And all of a sudden Dave Cullwell goes to Florida to take over Florida football program, by the way, with the help of how he roseman, who's, that's his alma mater.
- 1:01:39[UNKNOWN]: He kind of landed him that job from what I was told.
- 1:01:43[UNKNOWN]: And I thought, well, that's a nice, you know, nice thing for how we should do.
- 1:01:48[UNKNOWN]: But did he really want to do it?
- 1:01:50[UNKNOWN]: Now I start to wonder, or was Dave getting paid so much that they said, now we can't do this.
- 1:02:01[UNKNOWN]: because they brought in Mike McCagnan, but he's got a much lower title than Dave Paulwell had.
- 1:02:14[UNKNOWN]: And I bet a much lower salary.
- 1:02:21[UNKNOWN]: This is already started.
- 1:02:25[UNKNOWN]: So, and I use the George Steinbrunner Hanks that I'm running comparison for a reason.
- 1:02:31[UNKNOWN]: Just because the father is obsessed with winning, doesn't mean the son is going to be obsessed with winning at all costs.
- 1:02:45[UNKNOWN]: Just stop to keep an eye on.
- 1:02:47[UNKNOWN]: What is the value of the franchise,
- 1:02:55[UNKNOWN]: at its highest point, versus expressing your way into more profit, which ultimately leads you to less.
- 1:03:14[UNKNOWN]: In other words, you can't expense your way.
- 1:03:17[UNKNOWN]: into profit and that's my argument with the quarterback only it's not profit it's success with the exception you know of Seattle but who are the if Jalen hurts his next deal and I'm not saying this is fact I'm just saying this is what's as conversation with what if
- 1:03:46[UNKNOWN]: is $55 or $60 million a year.
- 1:03:51[UNKNOWN]: The same darn older, the guy coming in at 35 or 40 million is completely, completely different and outside, unless it's an exception, outside of the process of winning it all.
- 1:04:15[UNKNOWN]: But I think, you know, there's 32 teams in the NFL.
- 1:04:22[UNKNOWN]: How many of those 32 teams do you think the goal is to win it all just from the ownership standpoint.
- 1:04:31[UNKNOWN]: Now, it's talking about the players, the coaches, the personnel people from the ownership perspective.
- 1:04:37[UNKNOWN]: How many of those 32 teams do you think?
- 1:04:40[UNKNOWN]: The goal is simply to win it all.
- 1:04:45[UNKNOWN]: the top two teams in each division.
- 1:04:50[UNKNOWN]: I'll tell you what, it's underwater.
- 1:04:52[UNKNOWN]: It's not 16.
- 1:04:56[UNKNOWN]: It's less, you know, most of these people are the values of those teams, John.
- 1:05:12[UNKNOWN]: And I blame forums for this, by the way, because they, and it's probably not their fault, but just a lot of people do it now, run off the sports, you know, there's all these business sites, but the, you know, valuation and the eagles are valued, I don't know, e.3 billion or whatever.
- 1:05:33[UNKNOWN]: Like I think a lot of people don't understand.
- 1:05:40[UNKNOWN]: Like that's not in cherry Jeffrey lorries bank account, $8.3 billion.
- 1:05:46[UNKNOWN]: That's what he said.
- 1:05:47[UNKNOWN]: That's worth.
- 1:05:48[UNKNOWN]: That's what he asked at his worth.
- 1:05:50[UNKNOWN]: There worth what somebody is willing to write exactly.
- 1:05:54[UNKNOWN]: That's what the team is worth.
- 1:05:56[UNKNOWN]: So the commanders were worth.
- 1:06:01[UNKNOWN]: What Harris was willing to write to check for.
- 1:06:06[UNKNOWN]: He wrote a big check.
- 1:06:08[UNKNOWN]: And if, well, that's the thing, the NFL, the NFL is the brand is such to the point where a lot of these valuations come to fruition, when teams are sold, and sometimes they even pass the valuation like it, it, some of the other ones like lesser leagues, they're complete bullshit because the brand isn't worth as much and people aren't going to write that check.
- 1:06:39[UNKNOWN]: But I think, in the last year, we have is 2024.
- 1:06:44[UNKNOWN]: So I think a lot of people don't understand.
- 1:06:52[UNKNOWN]: So the Eagles, in the best majority of this comes from TV rights, took in 688 million of revenue.
- 1:07:01[UNKNOWN]: And then an operating income, so essentially a profit,
- 1:07:08[UNKNOWN]: of 117 million, which is pretty significant.
- 1:07:11[UNKNOWN]: But again, you can see, in eight billions, yeah.
- 1:07:18[UNKNOWN]: There's a difference.
- 1:07:19[UNKNOWN]: The late change day, long standing rule, where you had to, you could not sell small minorities of the team,
- 1:07:35[UNKNOWN]: for many, many years, they changed that three or four years ago.
- 1:07:39[UNKNOWN]: And the reason they changed that is some of these owners, Jeffrey Lawyer included who sold to two different investors, could cash in on these valuations and get some actual money.
- 1:07:55[UNKNOWN]: Because that 8.3 billion ain't in his bank, but he could sell 1% and get
- 1:08:06[UNKNOWN]: You know, I have to look up exactly what he sold and get some actual money and when you're paying these massive contracts, liquidation is important.
- 1:08:34[UNKNOWN]: There's not many of these guys left, but there's a couple of them who's value is like a billion dollars, which, you know, the average span is going to chuckle, but when you have to point 200 million in escrow to cover
- 1:09:03[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, or you, or, or they do what most people at that level do, or you could get one.
- 1:09:11[UNKNOWN]: They're funding all of that with a bank line.
- 1:09:16[UNKNOWN]: Well, they could write in $200 million, they're not taking $200 million at a Jeffrey Lori's bank account or a Charles Schwab account or wherever all as money is and putting it in and putting it into in the reserve to pay a guaranteed contract.
- 1:09:35[UNKNOWN]: It's all off of funding line.
- 1:09:36[UNKNOWN]: That's it.
- 1:09:37[UNKNOWN]: That's how the NFL works.
- 1:09:38[UNKNOWN]: That's how the NBA works.
- 1:09:40[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you know, like again, you waited that the reason they changed the role and he still he sold three point two five percent stake to Susan Kim who's the chairman of of am core technology and he sold four point seven five percent.
- 1:10:00[UNKNOWN]: to the Peskowitz family, which owns part of the Atlanta Hawks, they took on any did that and by the way, over 10 owners have done that in recent years to get some liquid financing, because those valuations aren't helping them.
- 1:10:22[UNKNOWN]: Other than they can brag to their friends about, hey, Forbes says we're worth a 0.3 what is that to break effort glory unless he's going to sell the team.
- 1:10:32[UNKNOWN]: He's not going to sell the team.
- 1:10:35[UNKNOWN]: John, the NFL is a collective is a collective entity of all 32 owners.
- 1:10:40[UNKNOWN]: Is that right?
- 1:10:42[UNKNOWN]: Well, there's far more than, again, I'm just talking about more than 32 owners, but underneath, but on the surface, on the surface, if the NFL were selling as an entity, somebody, well, they can't do that, but if that were the scenario, all 32 owners would have a would be on the call,
- 1:11:07[UNKNOWN]: and would make a decision on what the private equity firm is determining to be the value of the franchise.
- 1:11:18[UNKNOWN]: Or the value of the league, the individual franchise is like the Eagles
- 1:11:26[UNKNOWN]: are going to be ranked or higher in value than the lowest than the team with the least amount of revenue, whoever that whoever that is.
- 1:11:38[UNKNOWN]: So the Eagles are going to be in a position to have more leverage than the lower team.
- 1:11:46[UNKNOWN]: Jeffrey Lorry doesn't use his own money to guarantee a contract.
- 1:11:51[UNKNOWN]: It's I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not saying they do.
- 1:11:55[UNKNOWN]: I'm saying some some owners are more to liquid than other owners.
- 1:12:00[UNKNOWN]: A standcranky is, you know, the Denver, the you know, who owns Walmart, I forget their name that you know, he's the richest owner in the NFL.
- 1:12:21[UNKNOWN]: Las Vegas with Mark Davis, they're far more financially well healed to take on some of these massive intakes that you have to take on now.
- 1:12:31[UNKNOWN]: And it's hurt other teams.
- 1:12:32[UNKNOWN]: It doesn't hurt Philadelphia.
- 1:12:34[UNKNOWN]: What I'm saying all I'm saying is the average fan sees the Eagles are worth $8.3 million.
- 1:12:42[UNKNOWN]: Now you're a business man, you know 688 million in revenue.
- 1:12:48[UNKNOWN]: If that were a private company, what would it's worth be valued at?
- 1:12:54[UNKNOWN]: It's usually 4 to 5 times.
- 1:12:57[UNKNOWN]: 5x could be if it's a technology company could be 20x.
- 1:13:00[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but it's usually 4 or 5 times.
- 1:13:04[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it is in its from a formula standpoint.
- 1:13:10[UNKNOWN]: It is on, I'm not, I'm just trying to explain it to the fans.
- 1:13:15[UNKNOWN]: I've got an average company that doesn't have that huge brand, the shield.
- 1:13:20[UNKNOWN]: That doesn't have that, where you mentioned a technology company.
- 1:13:23[UNKNOWN]: That's exploding, and usually we'll have a, you know,
- 1:13:28[UNKNOWN]: an eventual whole, at some point in the road.
- 1:13:31[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's 30 X. Yeah, but that's, they're, they're, they're, you know, they're, most of those things go negative for the reason that they're not worth what it's portrayed to being.
- 1:13:46[UNKNOWN]: What I'm saying is that we're a normal company about
- 1:13:59[UNKNOWN]: So you're talking just on the revenue.
- 1:14:04[UNKNOWN]: So you're talking five billion plus manufactured by the power of the brand.
- 1:14:13[UNKNOWN]: And again, at 74 years old, and this is probably a discussion people don't wanna have, Jeffrey Lowe is not there as much.
- 1:14:20[UNKNOWN]: That's another thing that will,
- 1:14:26[UNKNOWN]: that you can, people can learn and I encourage them to read Jeff's piece on, on Julian.
- 1:14:34[UNKNOWN]: Julian's taken over a lot of the responsibilities because Jeffrey, at his age, wants to go do some things.
- 1:14:41[UNKNOWN]: You know, we bought a yacht one year in front.
- 1:14:45[UNKNOWN]: You know, he wants, that's why I sold 3% of the team.
- 1:14:49[UNKNOWN]: He wants to go do some stuff.
- 1:14:51[UNKNOWN]: He wants to go get some yachts.
- 1:14:56[UNKNOWN]: And he wants to take advantage of the value of his asset, that's all I'm trying to explain and from that and the bigger part we got off into a tangent isn't what it's worth.
- 1:15:11[UNKNOWN]: It's the assumption that Julian Laurie is going to have the same mindset of Jeffrey Laurie.
- 1:15:19[UNKNOWN]: I think people need to pump the brakes on that.
- 1:15:21[UNKNOWN]: Maybe does, hopefully does.
- 1:15:24[UNKNOWN]: But if you were to line up all major owners and professional sports, Jeffrey Laurie is in a very, and this is a credit to Jeffrey Laurie.
- 1:15:35[UNKNOWN]: And Eagles fans have been spoiled.
- 1:15:38[UNKNOWN]: They have an owner who wants to win, legitimately wants to win.
- 1:15:43[UNKNOWN]: I'm telling you, that's not common.
- 1:15:46[UNKNOWN]: And as soon as it's going to be that way in perpetuity, I don't know if that's going to be the case, even though the same last name is going to be Lord.
- 1:15:57[UNKNOWN]: Well, Mark Fars that was on the National Football Show.
- 1:16:05[UNKNOWN]: Not yesterday, I think it was Tuesday.
- 1:16:10[UNKNOWN]: And again, I'm only putting it out into the space because far as he said it to Dan in reference to Julian.
- 1:16:18[UNKNOWN]: I don't know if they were talking.
- 1:16:19[UNKNOWN]: I don't even know how it came up.
- 1:16:21[UNKNOWN]: I was producing the show and far as he was on and I was working on whoever the next guest was or whatever.
- 1:16:30[UNKNOWN]: But far as he made a comment,
- 1:16:33[UNKNOWN]: that Julian pulled the plug, this is what he heard, this is what far as he heard, was tapped into the media, knows everybody.
- 1:16:44[UNKNOWN]: Julian pulled the plug on the Eagles post game show because that the Eagles did.
- 1:16:53[UNKNOWN]: He pulled the plug on the post game show,
- 1:16:58[UNKNOWN]: You're only because if it doesn't have a hundred thousand live viewers, it's not worth it.
- 1:17:07[UNKNOWN]: That's what that's what Farsi, that's what Farsi throughout there.
- 1:17:10[UNKNOWN]: Not only even how the, I don't even know why the conversation came up, but the reference was, Julie and pulled it because it didn't have a hundred thousand, it wasn't getting a hundred thousand viewers live.
- 1:17:20[UNKNOWN]: Who cares?
- 1:17:22[UNKNOWN]: What I mean, if what corners that's what I'm telling you is kind of corners at point if you're this if you And my first reaction is, oh no, no, I don't know if that's what he's running into somebody who thinks Or who already may feel as though he's the smartest person in the room
- 1:17:46[UNKNOWN]: I don't know, but if there's any truth to that, well, you're your your father and you have children and you want them to all be, you know, better than you.
- 1:18:00[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:18:14[UNKNOWN]: Hopefully for you, it does, hopefully for Jeffrey, it does, but I'm telling you, I've been covering pro sports for over 30 years, most owners, do not operate like Jeffrey Loury.
- 1:18:31[UNKNOWN]: And at a long time Eagle spans know that, they know the ownership before Jeffrey Loury.
- 1:18:38[UNKNOWN]: You see it with the sixers now, you see it,
- 1:18:42[UNKNOWN]: You know, the fillings are actually pretty good, but get to work by the Dodgers like everybody does, but in previously the Yankees, but they're pretty good.
- 1:18:55[UNKNOWN]: I like the fillings up.
- 1:18:57[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I like the fillings owners.
- 1:18:58[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's it's pretty solid.
- 1:19:00[UNKNOWN]: But it's difficult because they don't have a cap and the Dodgers have decided that.
- 1:19:06[UNKNOWN]: There's just going to outspend everybody, but the focus of equally decided went went appropriate.
- 1:19:12[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but that's it.
- 1:19:13[UNKNOWN]: And when I went appropriate, hey, the luck attacks if the fillies have signed up to pay the luxury tax.
- 1:19:20[UNKNOWN]: Most Dodgers, the Dodgers have a, the Dodgers are, they're going to have, they're going to have, in baseball, they're going to have a lockout because the Dodgers have created such in
- 1:19:34[UNKNOWN]: competitive advantage by just deciding to outspend everybody.
- 1:19:40[UNKNOWN]: And yeah, the Phillies are better than the best majority of the other teams, but that doesn't mean they're the Dodgers.
- 1:19:48[UNKNOWN]: And if there's one, you know, they're going to try to get a cap to try to better handle the playing field baseball.
- 1:19:58[UNKNOWN]: We'll see how it works out.
- 1:19:59[UNKNOWN]: What happens?
- 1:20:00[UNKNOWN]: But the players certainly think there's going to be a lock out.
- 1:20:05[UNKNOWN]: Um, and we'll see how that shakes out and and football, it's it's a cap Lee.
- 1:20:11[UNKNOWN]: So, you know, you've removed some of the advantages from that standpoint.
- 1:20:17[UNKNOWN]: But again, the young cap stuff and it's been a big part of the Eagle success is the off the field stuff that nobody sees and they spend more money on coaches executives personnel people than other teams.
- 1:20:36[UNKNOWN]: There is no cap.
- 1:20:36[UNKNOWN]: There's never going to be a cap in that.
- 1:20:39[UNKNOWN]: So you don't have to worry about that.
- 1:20:41[UNKNOWN]: What you have to worry about is two things.
- 1:20:44[UNKNOWN]: One, he's cutting corners to Mark's point in Jeff's article.
- 1:20:51[UNKNOWN]: He's cutting corners.
- 1:20:54[UNKNOWN]: Two, does that extend,
- 1:20:59[UNKNOWN]: because it's not cap, it's cash when it comes to the NFL.
- 1:21:03[UNKNOWN]: The Eagles are very good at avoidable years and handling the cap, but they're very good at it because Jeffrey Laurie allows them to do it.
- 1:21:15[UNKNOWN]: And allows them to kick the credit card payment down the road.
- 1:21:20[UNKNOWN]: That's, that's Jeffrey Laurie.
- 1:21:22[UNKNOWN]: He said, yeah, do it.
- 1:21:23[UNKNOWN]: We want to win.
- 1:21:26[UNKNOWN]: Does that change?
- 1:21:30[UNKNOWN]: But if I were a bedding man, if I were Brendan Sorsby, and I'm betting on everything, I would bet it's not the same under Julian as it is under Jeffrey.
- 1:21:45[UNKNOWN]: And I would say and speculate the, just like we started this show,
- 1:21:57[UNKNOWN]: for the decision you make, and I would venture to speculate that if that were the case, because that's a pretty drastic change, if that were the case, then the product on the field,
- 1:22:23[UNKNOWN]: franchise, in terms of the percentage of impact that they make, the fan base is going to fall off.
- 1:22:33[UNKNOWN]: We're going to go into a period.
- 1:22:35[UNKNOWN]: You either, listen, if Jeffrey Lori wants to win, I want a percent of the people in the room.
- 1:22:42[UNKNOWN]: would raise their hand.
- 1:22:43[UNKNOWN]: The Jeffrey Laurie want to win.
- 1:22:44[UNKNOWN]: Yes, all there's a survey, a poll.
- 1:22:48[UNKNOWN]: How many people in this room want to think Jeff Laurie wants to win?
- 1:22:51[UNKNOWN]: They all raise their hand.
- 1:22:52[UNKNOWN]: There's a hundred for what?
- 1:22:54[UNKNOWN]: And they all have a different reason why.
- 1:22:56[UNKNOWN]: If that changes and the product on the field becomes subpar and the team is not, we're not the team and the fan base is no longer debating
- 1:23:10[UNKNOWN]: whether they're gonna win 12 games or 14 games or be in contention to ultimately get to the Super Bowl and win another Super Bowl.
- 1:23:21[UNKNOWN]: If that's the case, which by the way, was the case before Laurie came in?
- 1:23:28[UNKNOWN]: That was the case.
- 1:23:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:23:30[UNKNOWN]: I mean, that's what it was.
- 1:23:33[UNKNOWN]: So if that, and that was the low and look at the history of that,
- 1:23:39[UNKNOWN]: You know, that it was the lowest part of the franchise, the lowest history part of the franchise.
- 1:23:50[UNKNOWN]: With all the great players, that came through here.
- 1:23:54[UNKNOWN]: One other sniff from Jaws and Vermeal in 80 or whatever or whatever it was.
- 1:24:10[UNKNOWN]: Listen, it's a long way out, but I don't see it happening.
- 1:24:14[UNKNOWN]: I don't see it happening.
- 1:24:15[UNKNOWN]: If it does, I don't have the ability to say it does the retousin.
- 1:24:18[UNKNOWN]: If it does, the team's going to fall off.
- 1:24:23[UNKNOWN]: If you, if you, if you, if you, if you, if you, if you opt to build a franchise, with a quarterback, who's half the value of the market,
- 1:24:37[UNKNOWN]: I'm going to venture to guess that more times than not, you're not going to have the same success.
- 1:24:45[UNKNOWN]: So those fifth of quarterbacks who are part of the $50 million club that have never won, that have never won a Super Bowl, all of the teams that are part of that $50 million club.
- 1:25:01[UNKNOWN]: win a lot of games, they're not super bowl winners, but they win a lot of games.
- 1:25:06[UNKNOWN]: And I think if you go down that list, they probably are all worth a big chunk of the money.
- 1:25:16[UNKNOWN]: Right?
- 1:25:17[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
- 1:25:19[UNKNOWN]: Valuation, like your point, yes.
- 1:25:22[UNKNOWN]: They, you know, the teams that win are valued more.
- 1:25:31[UNKNOWN]: kind of bullshit because it'd be go through a cycle and sports or cyclical and you have a down period, you know, all of a sudden you're not worth this much just because of the nature of it.
- 1:25:48[UNKNOWN]: But as far as to give you an example, Rob Walton owns the Broncos, he's worth 121.3 billion.
- 1:25:53[UNKNOWN]: He's the wealthiest owner in the NFL.
- 1:25:59[UNKNOWN]: Number two is Clark Hunt, who's worth 24.8 billion.
- 1:26:03[UNKNOWN]: So there's pretty big disparity between one and two.
- 1:26:08[UNKNOWN]: Jeffrey's not in the top 10, but he's, you know, his worth is 10 billion or whatever, but not quite in the top 10, but then you have the mayor of family.
- 1:26:20[UNKNOWN]: You have the Mark Davis, as I mentioned, the Brown family, Mike Bidwell.
- 1:26:24[UNKNOWN]: They might, they don't even crack a billion.
- 1:26:27[UNKNOWN]: So they have some issues when it comes to these monster contracts.
- 1:26:32[UNKNOWN]: Well, it's always been an issue.
- 1:26:33[UNKNOWN]: What, what, use Denver and Kansas City, which franchise is worth more money?
- 1:26:43[UNKNOWN]: Both teams are, both teams, the Eagles are up for sale, the more Jeffrey Laurie says, I've had enough.
- 1:26:53[UNKNOWN]: I want to take my yacht, and I want to go over to Monica, Monica next year for the formula one race, and all that other bullshit that you do when you have the money to buy the yacht.
- 1:27:02[UNKNOWN]: Eagles are up for sale.
- 1:27:04[UNKNOWN]: There's a bidding war that doesn't get or end at 8 billion.
- 1:27:10[UNKNOWN]: It starts at that number.
- 1:27:12[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but that's that's the least power and it is very powerful.
- 1:27:17[UNKNOWN]: Well, yeah, but there's also there's a market.
- 1:27:20[UNKNOWN]: I mean, there's a lot of things to play in.
- 1:27:21[UNKNOWN]: What up to 32?
- 1:27:25[UNKNOWN]: the exclusivity of being one of the 32 owners that make up the league on the surface.
- 1:27:32[UNKNOWN]: I know there's a lot more below.
- 1:27:35[UNKNOWN]: Comes with a tremendous amount of financial cashier for other shit.
- 1:27:40[UNKNOWN]: No, I agree with that, but you've seen it, you know, since an ad about being the most notable.
- 1:27:46[UNKNOWN]: Now part is because they're just cheap.
- 1:27:52[UNKNOWN]: but they don't have, and they've gotten better in recent years than they paid Joe Barrow, but there's always talk about, can they pay this guy, can they pay that guy, can they pay Chase and Higgins?
- 1:28:05[UNKNOWN]: The Raiders as well, some of these teams that aren't as financially well-healed, and you're right, part of it is just the mentality of ownership.
- 1:28:22[UNKNOWN]: I just pulled up.
- 1:28:23[UNKNOWN]: I mean, Walton is by far the NFL's richest owner, but then there's only 15th in the valuation of the teens.
- 1:28:31[UNKNOWN]: Where's the giants have one of the worst ownership situations from personal well standpoint, and they're third because of the market.
- 1:28:41[UNKNOWN]: You know, the giants are worth more than a Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:28:43[UNKNOWN]: Why?
- 1:28:44[UNKNOWN]: Because of the market.
- 1:28:51[UNKNOWN]: because it's New York, and they don't even play in New York, but it's the same market.
- 1:29:01[UNKNOWN]: Other than the NFL is a lot of these, and these are Sportacos valuations.
- 1:29:12[UNKNOWN]: Look, I've had these discussions with these business guys, and they know their valuations are
- 1:29:23[UNKNOWN]: like it really shows up in the lesser sports where you see these grandiose proclamations of, you know, maybe an NHL team is worth this.
- 1:29:33[UNKNOWN]: And it's really only worth what to your point originally, somebody wants to pay for everybody wants to get involved in the NFL.
- 1:29:41[UNKNOWN]: So you don't have to worry about it.
- 1:29:43[UNKNOWN]: They know it is.
- 1:29:45[UNKNOWN]: I mean, they can sleep soundly at night.
- 1:29:47[UNKNOWN]: All NFL owners can sleep soundly at night.
- 1:29:53[UNKNOWN]: All NBA owners can, for the most part, because of their TV deal.
- 1:29:59[UNKNOWN]: If that ever went away though, and that's why I say it all the time, the most powerful people in sports, they do those list as well.
- 1:30:07[UNKNOWN]: And I've had those discussions with these business guys.
- 1:30:10[UNKNOWN]: And it's always Roger Giddell or Adam Silver or, you know, the commissioners of the very sports, I go, the most powerful people in sports,
- 1:30:21[UNKNOWN]: are the guys breaking the checks from Fox and CBS and Amazon and Netflix, they're the most powerful people in sports because they're the ones who are funding at the NFL lost its TV deals, which they're not going to do.
- 1:30:53[UNKNOWN]: I can look it up because the packers are public.
- 1:30:57[UNKNOWN]: So we know every year how much they get to split from the TV deals.
- 1:31:09[UNKNOWN]: And it's basically more than half of the revenue each team generates, just from the TV deals.
- 1:31:23[UNKNOWN]: internally, a process to evaluate stadiums, nationally, internationally.
- 1:31:43[UNKNOWN]: And with the Lincoln
- 1:31:53[UNKNOWN]: a new stadium is on the horizon for the franchise.
- 1:31:58[UNKNOWN]: If it's not, that's one option.
- 1:32:02[UNKNOWN]: By the way, real quick, $432.6 million.
- 1:32:09[UNKNOWN]: That's how much each NFL team gets from the TV revenue.
- 1:32:15[UNKNOWN]: In the Eagles generated 668 million, a couple years ago, that's the last figure we have.
- 1:32:24[UNKNOWN]: well, well over half.
- 1:32:27[UNKNOWN]: If TB ever imploded, if it wakes up one day, even the NFL, all these sports leagues, if they wake up one day because of the fragmation, whatever, there's so many different outlets, nobody watches it as much.
- 1:32:45[UNKNOWN]: Again, this is impacts
- 1:32:54[UNKNOWN]: That industry craters, even the NFL is screwed.
- 1:33:02[UNKNOWN]: Far more than half of their money comes from just TV revenue.
- 1:33:14[UNKNOWN]: All great, I'm Pire's ball, Carlsey, and the history of the world.
- 1:33:20[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, perhaps.
- 1:33:21[UNKNOWN]: I mean, here's my point on the stadium.
- 1:33:25[UNKNOWN]: So Lori commissions and a valuation team, the tour of the, by the way, that number that every NFL team gets, the business of the NFL is already,
- 1:33:46[UNKNOWN]: for deserving and protecting and putting a security blanket under that by expanding internationally.
- 1:33:57[UNKNOWN]: That's the reason you're doing that.
- 1:33:59[UNKNOWN]: Well, they're doing that because they've maxed out.
- 1:34:04[UNKNOWN]: Not sure.
- 1:34:05[UNKNOWN]: So that's the next step, that's the next step.
- 1:34:07[UNKNOWN]: But back to the individual owner.
- 1:34:09[UNKNOWN]: What is the end result?
- 1:34:12[UNKNOWN]: It's one of two things.
- 1:34:17[UNKNOWN]: retractable roof on a re-energized, remodeled Lincoln financial field, if Lincoln financial is still the sponsor or whoever it is in South Philadelphia, or it's a new stadium.
- 1:34:36[UNKNOWN]: And if it's a new stadium, it's not outside of the possibility.
- 1:34:43[UNKNOWN]: that Jeffrey Laurie or Julian is now negotiating with the state of New Jersey to put him in Camden because the state of New Jersey is more financially capable of providing the incentives the tax relief and the amount of money that the team has to pay to put the dome on the
- 1:35:13[UNKNOWN]: That's what the Giants and the Jets are in the state of New Jersey.
- 1:35:19[UNKNOWN]: That's why and that's what the move that is happening in Chicago.
- 1:35:28[UNKNOWN]: with the bears going in the end, if that ultimately comes to fruition, unless by the way, I see their petitioning Elon Musk to pay for the entire bill to stay in the middle of every stadium.
- 1:35:42[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, maybe that happens.
- 1:35:44[UNKNOWN]: But that's why that's happening.
- 1:35:45[UNKNOWN]: They don't want to go to Indiana.
- 1:35:47[UNKNOWN]: But not nobody.
- 1:35:49[UNKNOWN]: But the money leverage.
- 1:35:52[UNKNOWN]: It's so much, it's just that it locally.
- 1:35:55[UNKNOWN]: They talked about market street and center city wherever it was going to be.
- 1:36:00[UNKNOWN]: You know, you know, you know, lost in the six or two.
- 1:36:04[UNKNOWN]: China town.
- 1:36:06[UNKNOWN]: The city.
- 1:36:07[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, well, the city lives in I mean filled out peace, but I'm saying this six years of leverage did to the point and the city didn't have a chance.
- 1:36:17[UNKNOWN]: And Harris.
- 1:36:18[UNKNOWN]: Oh, it's so steady, but yeah, it's in the city, but the reason that the move to the city was was going with the reason that that was so important.
- 1:36:30[UNKNOWN]: was not because the sixers were going to play in the city.
- 1:36:33[UNKNOWN]: It was the re-entire revitalization of that part of market street in China town, which needs that revitalization.
- 1:36:43[UNKNOWN]: So the city's bank on all those tax dollars and everything that's going to come from that revitalization.
- 1:36:50[UNKNOWN]: And in the end, they leveraged it to get it and then then get it.
- 1:36:55[UNKNOWN]: They kept them here, but that's why that deal fell apart.
- 1:36:59[UNKNOWN]: Well, yeah, we're all the people, and that's another, but who knows?
- 1:37:04[UNKNOWN]: That's another Jeffrey Lory thing.
- 1:37:05[UNKNOWN]: Like Jeffrey's bending over backwards to keep the Eagles in Philadelphia.
- 1:37:11[UNKNOWN]: And by that, I mean, they're gonna be in Philadelphia, but they might be playing in the suburbs of New Jersey or the suburbs west of the city.
- 1:37:26[UNKNOWN]: Again, that changes when Julian Ted, that's another thing that changes.
- 1:37:29[UNKNOWN]: Is he more open to say, hey, guess what?
- 1:37:32[UNKNOWN]: You know, I talked about this all the time.
- 1:37:34[UNKNOWN]: I've seen these facilities, Miami, brand new facility, the Jets, gorgeous facility that Cowboys are off the charts, the Vikings, when we're out there for the Super Bowl.
- 1:37:49[UNKNOWN]: Got to see their new facility.
- 1:37:54[UNKNOWN]: It's unbelievable.
- 1:37:56[UNKNOWN]: The Eagles are behind the April, and the only reason they're behind the April is because they don't have the room and actually they do have the room, but the city owns the naval lot, the parking lot down there and won't give it up and for whatever reason and it's like, they need a new practice facility.
- 1:38:16[UNKNOWN]: Forget about a new stadium, they need a new practice facility to keep up with these other teams.
- 1:38:23[UNKNOWN]: Does, does Julian say, you know what, I don't care if Chester County or somewhere in South Jersey wants to give me this will go play there.
- 1:38:38[UNKNOWN]: We'll build a stadium there and we'll
- 1:38:41[UNKNOWN]: have a practice facility like these other gorgeous practice facilities into your point.
- 1:38:47[UNKNOWN]: You know, now nobody even blinks an eye that the New York giants and the New York Jets playing in North Jersey because it's been that way forever.
- 1:38:59[UNKNOWN]: You know, it'll still be the Philadelphia Eagles, but they might be playing in the suburbs.
- 1:39:08[UNKNOWN]: That is, that is, that is,
- 1:39:11[UNKNOWN]: they're going to leverage and it'll be up to the city and what they do and the state.
- 1:39:18[UNKNOWN]: Well, in all probability, the state, because the city can't afford
- 1:39:27[UNKNOWN]: what it's going to take to do a new stadium or to renovate that stadium with a retractable roof and everything else.
- 1:39:36[UNKNOWN]: They can't afford it.
- 1:39:37[UNKNOWN]: The city has their own
- 1:39:42[UNKNOWN]: receivables and they have their own incoming dollars attached to that investment and they can't afford it.
- 1:39:51[UNKNOWN]: So it's going to be a, you know, that's why they won't give a parking.
- 1:39:54[UNKNOWN]: It's one of the, the city owns all the parking.
- 1:39:58[UNKNOWN]: Whether you're going to a flyer's game is six years game.
- 1:40:00[UNKNOWN]: Any of the city owns all the lots and they won't give it up.
- 1:40:03[UNKNOWN]: It's one of the few revenue streams that they can get off it playing at the Wells Fargo.
- 1:40:07[UNKNOWN]: That was the six years argument playing
- 1:40:12[UNKNOWN]: and renting the space was too expensive, the cost to put on a game was too expensive, and the same is true to put on the eight games or nine games at the link.
- 1:40:26[UNKNOWN]: The six or the
- 1:40:31[UNKNOWN]: They want to revenue from all the live events that they're going to put in there.
- 1:40:36[UNKNOWN]: They want to parking.
- 1:40:38[UNKNOWN]: And they want all of that in addition to ticket sales and sponsorship, which make up the lowest of the three or four income buckets that come into the financial statement.
- 1:40:51[UNKNOWN]: There's the incoming, which you just pointed out is what they get from the league on the deficit side, the number one expenses personnel.
- 1:41:00[UNKNOWN]: boom those are the two on the financial yeah well personnel's very expensive and any rational sports well see what I will see and cam that in in in in in in or on the Jersey side or in King of Prussia on the filly saw on the Pennsylvania side unless they find a way to creatively get a deal done
- 1:41:22[UNKNOWN]: and keep the existing stadium put a roof on it and modernize it and everything else.
- 1:41:27[UNKNOWN]: But if Jeffrey Laurie or Jolie, Jolie and Laurie really want to host the Super Bowl,
- 1:41:34[UNKNOWN]: One of two things after, you know, have to happen.
- 1:41:38[UNKNOWN]: Anyway, well, I got a hold of the dude.
- 1:41:42[UNKNOWN]: I had to hit the head, right?
- 1:41:45[UNKNOWN]: Nine o'clock.
- 1:41:46[UNKNOWN]: I can't hit, I can't break and hit the head.
- 1:41:48[UNKNOWN]: Now we might as well go.
- 1:41:49[UNKNOWN]: It's a tangent.
- 1:41:50[UNKNOWN]: Welcome to our tangent day.
- 1:41:51[UNKNOWN]: We got into the business of fun.
- 1:41:53[UNKNOWN]: Let me get up.
- 1:41:54[UNKNOWN]: We did get two supers that I want to bring up.
- 1:42:02[UNKNOWN]: Eduardo says in honor of the World Cup and Top 10 List Jens.
- 1:42:08[UNKNOWN]: Give me your top 10 countries that have the most beautiful.
- 1:42:13[UNKNOWN]: Oh, you're getting us a trouble.
- 1:42:15[UNKNOWN]: The World Cup.
- 1:42:16[UNKNOWN]: World Cup.
- 1:42:18[UNKNOWN]: A Zander will return on the 6th or 7th of July.
- 1:42:23[UNKNOWN]: But I don't know where, I don't know where they would write by the way, great, super, Eduardo, thank you.
- 1:42:32[UNKNOWN]: But I'm married in Italian women.
- 1:42:35[UNKNOWN]: I love the Italian culture and Italian women for me are my number one for what it's worth.
- 1:42:44[UNKNOWN]: And it's not worth a lot, but if you want my opinion, that's it.
- 1:42:47[UNKNOWN]: I'm going to go Mexico because they celebrate by kissing everybody.
- 1:42:51[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, you got it.
- 1:42:52[UNKNOWN]: You got it in there right away.
- 1:42:55[UNKNOWN]: Very good, Kimberly with the jazz former players like Brady, Eli, and Stan, it helps.
- 1:43:04[UNKNOWN]: In what way is was that, and again, I missed that when it first came in, but that may have been in conversation to the value of the team.
- 1:43:14[UNKNOWN]: In terms of Kimberly, if that's where you were going with that, and thank you for the super chat.
- 1:43:19[UNKNOWN]: I appreciate that very, very much, and I appreciate you guys being with us through what was a long rant over a financial process that actually is the ultimate reality of why
- 1:43:34[UNKNOWN]: of total annual revenue from NFL teams comes from the TV contracts, more than 60%.
- 1:43:42[UNKNOWN]: I was on a call back in my, and I'm not comparing, there's no comparison.
- 1:43:51[UNKNOWN]: I was on a call when I worked with the Philadelphia soul.
- 1:44:02[UNKNOWN]: was at its highest point.
- 1:44:06[UNKNOWN]: Baker was the commissioner, a lot of NFL owners, John Banjoby, on Jovi, Arthur Blank, Benson and New Orleans, a lot of NFL owners were owners of the AFL.
- 1:44:24[UNKNOWN]: So, we're on a call at the end.
- 1:44:27[UNKNOWN]: The Philadelphia Soul had just won the Arena Bowl in 2008.
- 1:44:35[UNKNOWN]: A VC firm hangs a $50 million per valuation.
- 1:44:45[UNKNOWN]: Purchase price.
- 1:44:46[UNKNOWN]: Purchase price.
- 1:44:48[UNKNOWN]: On the league.
- 1:44:50[UNKNOWN]: all the owners or they're selling the league or they're taking the investment from the venture group.
- 1:44:58[UNKNOWN]: I'm on the call.
- 1:45:00[UNKNOWN]: The venture group does its due diligence, which I was heavily involved in with when they did the soul books because I ran everything in terms of all the sponsorship and all of the sales and everything else.
- 1:45:13[UNKNOWN]: So after the full evaluation of the financial statements,
- 1:45:20[UNKNOWN]: The venture firm changes the evaluation from 50 million to 15 or 20 million, right?
- 1:45:32[UNKNOWN]: They realized that all of the books were either dumping grounds or being, or the numbers weren't real.
- 1:45:41[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:45:42[UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
- 1:45:49[UNKNOWN]: Like the NFL brand is the example of tremendous heft.
- 1:45:57[UNKNOWN]: Well, hold on, let me just finish this story.
- 1:46:00[UNKNOWN]: So here we are on the call.
- 1:46:03[UNKNOWN]: There's because the evaluation went from 50 to 15, the AFL was fucked.
- 1:46:10[UNKNOWN]: They had to do one or two things.
- 1:46:17[UNKNOWN]: So they had a bankrupt the league, which is exactly what they did.
- 1:46:23[UNKNOWN]: And Arthur Blank is mother, F. and Craig Spencer, and Benson is going fucking nuts on the call.
- 1:46:30[UNKNOWN]: And all this shit is happening.
- 1:46:32[UNKNOWN]: And I'm sitting on the call listening to all the conversation.
- 1:46:36[UNKNOWN]: And all those powerful owners made the decision to bankrupt the league.
- 1:46:42[UNKNOWN]: And I only share that story because the reality of what the NFL is, it's still 32 owners.
- 1:46:50[UNKNOWN]: And the brand is different, I'm not comparing the brand, but it's all that.
- 1:46:56[UNKNOWN]: Those owners fired, fired the commissioner, Baker, who now runs the Hall of Fame.
- 1:47:04[UNKNOWN]: They fired him at the arena ball.
- 1:47:09[UNKNOWN]: We were leading him down,
- 1:47:17[UNKNOWN]: Uh, what's the main street New Orleans?
- 1:47:19[UNKNOWN]: Whatever it was, we're urban street, urban street.
- 1:47:21[UNKNOWN]: We're leading him down, commissioner Baker, down the middle of urban street.
- 1:47:29[UNKNOWN]: Five thousand Philadelphia Soul fans invading New Orleans.
- 1:47:35[UNKNOWN]: Right after the parade was done within an hour at the league meeting two days before the arena ball, Baker was gone.
- 1:47:46[UNKNOWN]: Because they thought they were going to sell for 50 million and four months later after that, they went bankrupt, they shut down and tried to come back and all that other bullshit.
- 1:48:00[UNKNOWN]: But my point is, the 32 owners are making the decision to the 32 owners are going to make the decision of exactly what's going to happen and where that money is going to go or come from.
- 1:48:12[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, uh, in the secondary brand.
- 1:48:14[UNKNOWN]: I didn't mean to cut you off there because no, the secondary brands, I think the AFL is a good example because I've had this discussion with a lot of people.
- 1:48:23[UNKNOWN]: It's like, you got these numbers crunch you say, well, this is what.
- 1:48:30[UNKNOWN]: The NFL generates, and the NFL's a bad example, because their TV ratings are so good.
- 1:48:36[UNKNOWN]: But if you go down to the NBA, this is what the NBA does, you know, when the regular season, and they have this monster contract, TV contract.
- 1:48:49[UNKNOWN]: Um, in the big three, which is starting up, it's sort of a minor league that, uh, you know, they play three on three, it's got some big stars involved, and they, they got a deal with CBS and, and B.T.
- 1:49:02[UNKNOWN]: and things like that, and some television.
- 1:49:05[UNKNOWN]: And, and I got these, these, these, these, these numbers say,
- 1:49:09[UNKNOWN]: Well, if they do a 1.0 on CBS, that should be worth one third of what the NBA does.
- 1:49:16[UNKNOWN]: I'm like, it don't work that way, dude.
- 1:49:18[UNKNOWN]: They're paying for the brand.
- 1:49:21[UNKNOWN]: It's like people with the UFL.
- 1:49:23[UNKNOWN]: They say, well, people love football.
- 1:49:28[UNKNOWN]: No, they love the NFL.
- 1:49:30[UNKNOWN]: I'm a wrestling guy.
- 1:49:32[UNKNOWN]: People love wrestling.
- 1:49:33[UNKNOWN]: I get this with the AEW people all the time and wrestling.
- 1:49:36[UNKNOWN]: Well, WWE does this, so AEW should do this.
- 1:49:41[UNKNOWN]: Doesn't work that way.
- 1:49:44[UNKNOWN]: People want to be involved with the top brand.
- 1:49:48[UNKNOWN]: They don't want to be involved with the secondary brand or the third brand.
- 1:49:54[UNKNOWN]: Well, maybe they want to be involved, but not to the extent that they are would not, and I took a level, I'm just saying they're saying.
- 1:50:01[UNKNOWN]: So if the NBA does this number, and I do one quarter, I should get one quarter of the money.
- 1:50:08[UNKNOWN]: It doesn't work that way.
- 1:50:12[UNKNOWN]: You're getting scraps, and then they might want to be involved because they're getting a deal.
- 1:50:21[UNKNOWN]: Tiffany is Tiffany, the big brands are the big brands.
- 1:50:24[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
- 1:50:27[UNKNOWN]: Would you add a spell?
- 1:50:33[UNKNOWN]: Which brings it home.
- 1:50:34[UNKNOWN]: And then I do something hold on a minute.
- 1:50:37[UNKNOWN]: Jesus.
- 1:50:39[UNKNOWN]: Try not to curse when his dad curse is like a saver.
- 1:50:42[UNKNOWN]: Oh my God.
- 1:50:43[UNKNOWN]: I.
- 1:50:45[UNKNOWN]: If I offend it, I apologize.
- 1:50:50[UNKNOWN]: Like did I drop a bet I must have dropped you I don't I drop bad words every once in a while Well, you know, it's I fall out on YouTube.
- 1:50:58[UNKNOWN]: I shouldn't do it, but I did now now I agree well stated thanks for the call out I mean, but if you did I missed it so yeah, I must have got caught up in one of those
- 1:51:13[UNKNOWN]: moments, but I do apologize.
- 1:51:14[UNKNOWN]: No disrespect out there.
- 1:51:17[UNKNOWN]: Um, let Xander know when he gets back away.
- 1:51:20[UNKNOWN]: Um, I always tell him to be a, listen, you heard what I said, except responsibility for the decision you made.
- 1:51:27[UNKNOWN]: So I apologize for that.
- 1:51:30[UNKNOWN]: Johnny Mac, I wanted to get into today.
- 1:51:33[UNKNOWN]: And now, who's coming up here tomorrow on burst 365?
- 1:51:36[UNKNOWN]: My buddy Chris Franklin is going to be on him and he'll jump into more at what time nine twenty nine twenty so the first hour to tomorrow hour and 15.
- 1:51:46[UNKNOWN]: I wanted to make sure or I wanted to do today is I wanted to try and zero in on the toughest decisions that the Eagles are going to have to make
- 1:52:03[UNKNOWN]: when you get through training camp and you have to get down to your roster.
- 1:52:12[UNKNOWN]: Because I do think that there are some positions where they're going to have to be some tough decisions that they're going to have to make.
- 1:52:23[UNKNOWN]: I don't know how you feel about that.
- 1:52:24[UNKNOWN]: You may say no, the 53's gonna be relatively easy for this team.
- 1:52:30[UNKNOWN]: relatively easy for this team to get to.
- 1:52:34[UNKNOWN]: So that's what my hope was to do today.
- 1:52:38[UNKNOWN]: So maybe we'll do that tomorrow and we'll engage the chat and see where they go, see what their thoughts are as well.
- 1:52:48[UNKNOWN]: How do you answer that?
- 1:52:49[UNKNOWN]: How do you respond to that?
- 1:52:51[UNKNOWN]: Do the Eagles have some tough decisions
- 1:52:57[UNKNOWN]: a little bit more on certainty, but it's a better and team, it's pretty much, you know, the key contributors are well known, obviously, and proven for the most part.
- 1:53:10[UNKNOWN]: So I would say compared to most teams, they don't have as many questions.
- 1:53:15[UNKNOWN]: Always, you know, 48 to 53, the bottom five on your roster.
- 1:53:22[UNKNOWN]: You know, there's some ability for
- 1:53:25[UNKNOWN]: players to make a run, but they're not going to be key contributors, you know, as far as the starters go, you're basically almost locked in at every position with the exception of safety opposite your Macuba.
- 1:53:48[UNKNOWN]: And that's, you know,
- 1:53:51[UNKNOWN]: that'll be Marka Seps is the heavy favorite or Michael Carter as the out sort of liar who could potentially post and a both have a poor summer maybe have to go outside the organization.
- 1:54:06[UNKNOWN]: John I mean number two quarterback.
- 1:54:09[UNKNOWN]: Well, that was interesting.
- 1:54:11[UNKNOWN]: That was a story.
- 1:54:12[UNKNOWN]: I, you know, we all thought it was going to be Tanner McKee, because that's what we were told basically in the Andy Dalton acquisition had nothing to do with Tanner McKee.
- 1:54:22[UNKNOWN]: And then all of a sudden spring work shows up and Andy Dalton's getting the best majority of second team reps.
- 1:54:30[UNKNOWN]: Neither look good.
- 1:54:32[UNKNOWN]: So I don't think Andy Dalton,
- 1:54:37[UNKNOWN]: proved anything with the extra work he was getting in the spring.
- 1:54:41[UNKNOWN]: So I think that'll carry over.
- 1:54:45[UNKNOWN]: Eagles could be looking to move Tanner McKee because they drafted coal patent as well.
- 1:54:51[UNKNOWN]: He would in theory be the the number three quarterback that that you would want to keep.
- 1:54:57[UNKNOWN]: So
- 1:55:01[UNKNOWN]: Tannermy Key entering the final year was rookie deal the supreme spot to trade him.
- 1:55:06[UNKNOWN]: Maybe they could trade him for a safety.
- 1:55:08[UNKNOWN]: If you think player for player or some other potential options, but none of the quarterbacks to be honest look good in the spring.
- 1:55:19[UNKNOWN]: And a lot of that had to do with learning a new offense and new scheme and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:55:26[UNKNOWN]: But it was a chore for the offense in the spring.
- 1:55:31[UNKNOWN]: When it should be easy because it's more of a seven on seven environment, but The positive news is the defense look really really good and you you're trying to figure out all right how much of that is Just the Eagle's defense is that good or how much of that is the offense struggling On the chance and you don't want it to happen, but
- 1:56:01[UNKNOWN]: on the chance that Jalen would need to miss a game or two or a few games because he gets nicked or banged up or you know has a concussion or whatever the case would you know and any of those possibilities on the chance that that does occur who's your starter you know.
- 1:56:24[UNKNOWN]: I mean I would go with Tanner but
- 1:56:28[UNKNOWN]: You know, Andy's played a lot from what I saw of Andy's all right if he's here, I guess.
- 1:56:34[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:56:34[UNKNOWN]: Well, he's got it.
- 1:56:35[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:56:35[UNKNOWN]: He's got me.
- 1:56:37[UNKNOWN]: I would just at this stage.
- 1:56:39[UNKNOWN]: I would just make him the back up because I don't trust Andy Dalton anymore and some of the pros he made.
- 1:56:47[UNKNOWN]: We talked about that with Brandon B. L. G. yesterday.
- 1:56:52[UNKNOWN]: some of the throws he made.
- 1:56:53[UNKNOWN]: And look, he got to play five games in Carolina back in 2024.
- 1:57:02[UNKNOWN]: And one game last year and he didn't look good.
- 1:57:07[UNKNOWN]: So at his age, maybe he's just lost it.
- 1:57:10[UNKNOWN]: Look, in his prime, he was a very good player, but
- 1:57:22[UNKNOWN]: and I would lean towards Stan and McKee but you know the Eagles were given Andy Dalton the majority of the reps for a reason and they might have a different take on that.
- 1:57:38[UNKNOWN]: Well the good news is when camp begins
- 1:57:43[UNKNOWN]: And let me just say, I don't know if I, I don't know if I actually Calculate the days right Because sometimes I'm not very good at that, but I probably should have just put it into into chat or something But 30 is it John is it 33 days?
- 1:58:02[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:58:03[UNKNOWN]: Twenty eight.
- 1:58:04[UNKNOWN]: Well, twenty eight, they report.
- 1:58:05[UNKNOWN]: Twenty nine should be the first practice.
- 1:58:08[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:58:08[UNKNOWN]: So out of 30.
- 1:58:09[UNKNOWN]: It's thirty three days to reporting day.
- 1:58:12[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:58:13[UNKNOWN]: On the thirty fourth day from now from today, they'll be on the field and the good news with all of that.
- 1:58:19[UNKNOWN]: is that you get to go to every practice and watch every minute.
- 1:58:22[UNKNOWN]: I don't know if it's good for you.
- 1:58:23[UNKNOWN]: It's really good for your ability to be able to tell people what's going on because you're allowed to actually learn from me yesterday or whenever it was.
- 1:58:31[UNKNOWN]: You're allowed to actually be there for the entire process.
- 1:58:36[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:58:37[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
- 1:58:38[UNKNOWN]: We haven't gotten to that point.
