- 0:09And we're back third hour of the Morning Show with Preston Scott. That's Grant
- 0:15Allen. I'm Preston and he's back. Retired US Border Patrol agent a Zeus
- 0:22Rodriguez. Good day, sir, Marry Christmas, Happy New Year. How
- 0:25in the world are you doing well? Sir? Good morning? How you
- 0:29doing. I'm terrific all things considered, I am curious. We haven't talked
- 0:36in a few months. We decided we'd space these out a little bit,
- 0:39let some things percolate, and then visit as sort of to be able to
- 0:45talk about some more things with a little more clarity. I just saw a
- 0:49CBO number Congressional Budget Office that says six point two illegal immigrants have come into
- 0:58the United States in three years. When you hear a number like that,
- 1:03can you quantify it for me as a Border patrol agent. It's an invasion.
- 1:11Pressmen, it's really an invasion out there. And you were saying,
- 1:12you use the word percolates over the past few months. It wasn't. It's
- 1:17not even a perculate. It boiled over out there, especially out in the
- 1:22Lukeal area and near Aho. It just it over just overwhelmed the agents completely
- 1:29I think it began probably one of the last conversations that we had, and
- 1:33I know that the weekend of Thanksgiving, one of the agents mentioned to me
- 1:38that they had at least over a thousand, five hundred per day that came
- 1:42in during that four day period or so, that it was just they were
- 1:47overwhelmed completely. Describe what you mean by that first, Lukeville, Arizona,
- 1:53where are we talking. We're talking about thirty plus miles south of Ajo,
- 1:57Arizona, where down in the southern part of Arizona probably and in a Jos
- 2:05as a excuse me, luke Fild is the gateway to Rocky Point where there's
- 2:07a lot of people that go down there for for irritation, and since it's
- 2:10part of that Gulf of uh Uh of Mexico there and so there there is
- 2:15a lot of uh movement. There was a lot of movement and there still
- 2:19is not not as much because the cartails are fighting, but prior to that,
- 2:23there was quite a bit of movement of people of the legal aliens coming
- 2:27through there, and it's really that's one of the one of the hot spots
- 2:30that they were the agents had during that end of the year of last year
- 2:35with all the all the aliens coming through, and it was just like I
- 2:38said, overwhelmed that they were. People were sitting out there for two or
- 2:43three days camped out, basically camped out because they just didn't have enough vehicles
- 2:49to transport people out of those out of the border area to the station to
- 2:53get processed. That's what I wanted to hear a little bit more about.
- 2:57When when we hear that the border patrol agents are being overwhelmed, just in
- 3:01a minute or so, distinguish what that means from say, not being overwhelmed
- 3:07and being able to do what they're charged to do versus being overrun. What
- 3:12happens, what changes? So normally an agent will go out to the field
- 3:15and what we what they would do. What we would do in the passes,
- 3:20you would go cut cut the line, and that means you're going to
- 3:22go look for footprints, whether their their footprints off of a shoe, off
- 3:25of boots, whether it's carpet that they were on their on their on their
- 3:30shoes to disguise their footprints across UH some of these roads. And that's normally
- 3:36what they would do. They'd also rely on from the technology that they are
- 3:39that's out their sensors cameras that that may may may see I legally, you
- 3:45know, crossing the border area, that's what they normally would do. But
- 3:47in this situation now they were tasked with just going down there, picking up
- 3:53as many as they could in those vehicles safely of course, you know,
- 3:55anywhere from a dozen or so, putting them in the van, getting them
- 3:59up to the process of facility in the AHA station, and in some cases
- 4:02they were beating some of the illegal Alians were being shipped out to other stations
- 4:06for processing. So it wasn't just the AHA station that was getting a whelmed,
- 4:11it was an entire Tucson sector because they were shut under the checkpoints which
- 4:15would normally remain open, whether going into Phoenix, going into Tucson, the
- 4:21biggest one and coming out in our gallus that goes into Tucson was shut down.
- 4:26And so that's I mean, that's an important checkpoint because you do get
- 4:30a lot of narcotics and a lot of illegal aliens that come to those through
- 4:33these checkpoints, especially that one in particular. So they were just tasked with
- 4:38picking up one of the ages kind of jokingly cold the bordem trow Uber I'm
- 4:46laughing to keep from crying. Your guy, do what you're talking about.
- 4:49It's the Morning Show with Preston Scott back talking southern border. No shortage of
- 5:08things to talk about with Azeus Rodriguez, US Border Patrol agent retired hezeus.
- 5:14Just a just a guess. If six point two million illegals is the number
- 5:19that the Congressional Budget Office thinks it knows, what do you think the number
- 5:26is including those we don't know? Oh God, Chris, now that's that's
- 5:30a good question, Pruston. I mean you're talking since these agents were tasked,
- 5:35was having to transport all these bodies out of those out of that border
- 5:39area, who knows how many came through some of those gaps or some of
- 5:43those areas where they were not able to work. Uh, it's honestly,
- 5:47there is no no clue whatsoever because they don't they don't have didn't have the
- 5:51chance to go look and some of those areas and problem areas and see where
- 5:58they were getting into vehicles and driven out. And again going back to what
- 6:01I mentioned earlier, the checkpoints being down, it's a free it basically,
- 6:05once to get into a vehicle, it's a free ride. To wherever the
- 6:08inter get to Phoenix, Tucson, anywhere in the country once you hit the
- 6:12interstate. So so the agents don't necessarily have like a working rubric that says,
- 6:16for every number that we get to process, there's x number that we're
- 6:23not even seeing and know about. Back in the day. And I say
- 6:27back in the day, maybe up to five six years ago, they estimated
- 6:31that we would apprehend two out of every ten. That's a guestimate. If
- 6:38that number, if that were to hold accurate, we would be I mean
- 6:44tens of millions in this country. Well yeah, I mean right now.
- 6:48Let mean, look, look what's happening right now, and we're just talking
- 6:51just that little small sliver of the area of Arizona and lukevill and you know,
- 6:57think about California, and think about everywhere everywhere else law the southern border.
- 7:00I mean, the agents are just overwhelmed. And you know, there's
- 7:04no agency in the world that could handle, you know, what what's happening
- 7:11to the border patrol right now and still go out there and do their normal
- 7:15duties. None, there's none. One of the things that's being mentioned as
- 7:18a reason why this number is so large. Of the known numbers. Is
- 7:23something called a parole loophole. Do you know anything about that? What's that
- 7:28about? You know, I've heard about it. I'm persting, but I
- 7:30don't know exactly all the how it works. But once the way it works
- 7:34is once the the illegally need comes in and they take them to the station
- 7:39to get processed, they're basically released. And a lot of times and so
- 7:45these NGOs, these non governmentalid agencies come in, take them up, take
- 7:49them to these facilities where they have eve, whether it's in Phoenix, whether
- 7:54it's in Two Sons and other or other cities along the southern border. And
- 7:58then from there they're taking the bus stations, airports and then they go wherever
- 8:01they where they need to go to. And during the holidays they had to
- 8:05go to the airport, and there was in Phoenix and there was I honestly
- 8:09I lost count of how many there were and just in the Phoenix airport waiting
- 8:11to waiting to fly out. You mentioned NGOs, and and those are non
- 8:18government organizations, right, yes, sir, And among them a group called
- 8:22Elitea's Angels. There are others. James O'Keeffe has featured Alda's Angels independent journalists
- 8:31or you know working in San Antonio and they're talking about these NGOs. We
- 8:35got about a minute left in this segment. We'll carry it over, but
- 8:37explain the role of these NGOs. What are they doing? So basically what
- 8:43they do is they provide you know, hot meals, places, stay for
- 8:46a while until they can get them to their final destination. Was like I
- 8:50said, whether they are they're they're in the facility for a day or so,
- 8:54and then they get them to the bus stations or to the airports,
- 8:56uh you know too, and then they go from there they fly out,
- 9:00they or they're busted out. Is of course the families, the families that
- 9:03are have to pay for that in some instances will pay for that, so
- 9:07they could the person get to where they need to get to. Is it
- 9:09fair to say that they're assisting in this invasion of our country and maybe even
- 9:16human trafficking? President, I'm going to say something that I know I heard
- 9:22several agentsy is that we are. They are. Also they also feel that
- 9:26they're part of the problem because they're not able to to to apprehend them and
- 9:33then send them back to where they they came from. And so yeah,
- 9:37I'd say that. You know, there's everybody has a hand in that.
- 9:39You know, these NGOs as well as as our own federal government has a
- 9:43hand in that. We're just cutting people loosee l A on your phone with
- 9:48the iHeart radio app and on hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home,
- 9:52Xbox and Sonos and Ihearts radio station. Final segment and with a US Border
- 10:01Patrol agent retired a Zeus Rodriguez during the Morning Show with Preston Scott a Zeus,
- 10:07we were just talking in the break about the cartels and you know,
- 10:13the fight over who's going to control what the agents themselves. Are they hopeful
- 10:22that Donald Trump comes back into office. He is, I think they are.
- 10:26They all are. They're hoping that and keeping their fingers crossed that uh,
- 10:31you know, once the election takes place, that he'll take his place
- 10:33again in the White House and and start to change things up again. But
- 10:39you know, with that said, they're also they also understand that, you
- 10:43know, there's a possibility that it's not many, it may not be fair,
- 10:46and people can say whatever they want, they can say conspiracy blah blah
- 10:48blah. But I mean, come on, we know that that under his
- 10:52under his guidance and leadership. It was a totally different border. It was
- 10:56a totally different border. But so now with this guy and right now it's
- 11:01it's chaotic. But with the prospect of that maybe happening, obviously, you
- 11:05know, we we hope for the best with fairness of the election, but
- 11:09that then tells me that the pressure in the next ten months is going to
- 11:13be immense on the southern border as people see the possibility of Trump taking office.
- 11:20I think so present and I think that that it might it would probably
- 11:24get worse on the on the uh, on the agents if Trump were to
- 11:30were to win the White House back, you could see a big rush of
- 11:35illegals coming up to the border and crossing into the country. With with knowing
- 11:39that that he's coming back into into the office and knowing that, you know,
- 11:43there's going to be there's going to be changing the border, There's no
- 11:46doubt about it. What's what changes there's going to be who knows, but
- 11:50it's going to be a change, that's for sure. You're talking about the
- 11:54the openness of those who cross the border and how they post the things on
- 12:00social media about breaking into the country. Oh yeah, the agents have mentioned
- 12:05to me that there, you know, some of them get upset, and
- 12:09rightly, so there's no there's no consequences, so we goes. They're so
- 12:13laxed, and so they're non caring that they take they're taking selfies of themselves
- 12:16with in the background with the barriers that that was that were put up during
- 12:22during the Trump administration. So then they're just there's not a care in the
- 12:26world because they know there's no consequence. There's nothing that's gonna happen to them.
- 12:30They're not going to be sent back to their country. They're gonna once
- 12:33you get process, they're gonna get released, and they're gonna get to go
- 12:35wherever they need to go to, whether it's back East or anywhere else in
- 12:39the country. Well, and I want you to explain what you did to
- 12:41me in the break about how you have to basically take their word for whoever
- 12:46they are, because unless you have an actual identity, there is no way
- 12:52to find out anything about these people at the border through processing, right And
- 12:58so what I've been told over the course of all these these past few years
- 13:03is that they said there's there's a lot of these guys carry cell phones,
- 13:05but there is no sim cards in some of these cell phones, they take
- 13:09the SIM cards out and dump them on the on the Mexican side. Because
- 13:13so now as an Intel agent, you cannot access their cell phone and see,
- 13:16you know, what they have, who they've spoken to, you know,
- 13:20whether if they have they have really their true identity, because they can
- 13:22tell you who you know, they can give you a false name, and
- 13:26you'll process them as such unless and when you process and you're looking for that
- 13:31that particular fingerprint and facial uh picture of that person to see if they've ever
- 13:37been had any contact with law enforcement or with the immigration service here in the
- 13:41country. But you don't have access to some of those databases of the country
- 13:46where they're coming from, so you really don't know you know, who that
- 13:50person was. And let's say a country of Senegal, in a country of
- 13:54Mauritania and those countries like that, whether where these people are coming from.
- 13:58You don't have access to those databases, so you only relying on what you're
- 14:01finding here in the US. And if they don't have any record of ever
- 14:05being here in the US, you know, you possed them as such,
- 14:09and and out the door they go. You mentioned to me that in your
- 14:11two plus decades of working the border, that only once somebody popped up on
- 14:18Interpol once that I can remember you one, right, and then that was
- 14:24rather quickly, and you know we processes as such. But you know,
- 14:28in those in all my in all my years, that was only the only
- 14:31time I can ever think of that ever happened. And that's the only database
- 14:35that Border Patrol has access to that might flag somebody who has had a criminal
- 14:43background internationally. Right, So they'll run them and they'll have access to the
- 14:48to the FBI database. So of their process and put into the into the
- 14:52FBI database of a person who's been interested in Charlotte, North Carolina for whatever
- 14:56crime, that their fingerprints and that and their picture will pop up on the
- 15:00screen or tell you that you know they have they have some some prior criminal
- 15:03history and then you you you go from there. Right. Other than that,
- 15:07there's no there's no way to know whether the person coming from the you
- 15:11know, whatever African country they're coming from, or some other countries that they're
- 15:13that they're uh that they're claiming to be from. You won't you don't have
- 15:16access to those databases. Intelligent and intelligent can talk to them. But again,
- 15:22they have to they have to be able to to be able to to
- 15:26get that information from them, whether they're willing to give it up or not.
- 15:30A different question. Do me a favor with anyone that you contact with
- 15:35at Border Patrol, male or female. Tell them thank you for the most
- 15:39of us in this country that care a lot about what they're doing and that
- 15:43we appreciate what they can do. Thank you, Thanks so very much,
- 15:48Jesus, You'll be well. Okay, takes hey. Zeus Rodriguez, US
