- 0:24Whoa, hey guys, it is great to be
- 0:27with you on Inspirations for Your Life today.
- 0:30It is a Wednesday, it's April 8th, it's
- 0:332026, and from the beautiful background that you
- 0:35see here, yes, I am at Montclair State
- 0:39University, and the building you see directly in
- 0:43back of me here, just directly in back
- 0:45of me is Life Hall, and then to
- 0:48the other side of it is the College
- 0:50of Communication.
- 0:52All right guys, so it's great to be
- 0:53with you here, another great day at Montclair
- 0:56State University.
- 0:57Hope all of you guys had a great
- 0:58Passover or you had a good Easter or
- 1:01whatever you celebrated with friends and family, and
- 1:04so let's get right into the show.
- 1:05We have a great master topic for the
- 1:06week, as you know, we always do.
- 1:07If this is your very first time here,
- 1:09I want to take the opportunity to say
- 1:10thank you and welcome.
- 1:13I really appreciate you guys dropping in.
- 1:15If you've been here many times before, whether
- 1:17it's once, twice, before, or many times, I
- 1:21do want to say welcome back, and thank
- 1:23you so much for choosing to come back
- 1:25to the show.
- 1:26Because we are live on a campus ground,
- 1:29we may get noise, we may get distractions,
- 1:32we get people maybe into our feed, that
- 1:34just kind of happens, but that's kind of
- 1:36the beauty of being live here in this
- 1:39environment.
- 1:40All right guys, so this is Inspirations for
- 1:42Your Life.
- 1:42It's Wednesday, April 8th, and yes, How to
- 1:47Become Living Proof is our granular for today.
- 1:51And that is, guys, Series 5, in case
- 1:54you didn't know, yep, Series 5.
- 1:56It's show 15, and it's episode number 5.
- 2:01Yeah.
- 2:02So, yes, it's great to be here.
- 2:03Oh, who am I?
- 2:04Sure.
- 2:04I'm John C.
- 2:05Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 2:09podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, and
- 2:12a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:16And pretty soon, guys, next Friday, not this
- 2:20Friday, but next Friday, that's like nine days
- 2:23away, I will be an official published author
- 2:26with a hardcover book, a Kindle version, and
- 2:29yes, even an Audible version that I'll be
- 2:31reading.
- 2:32So really excited about that.
- 2:34And today was the day, actually, today, April
- 2:378th, 2026, that the Library of Congress actually
- 2:41cataloged our ISBN number, so really grateful for
- 2:44that.
- 2:46So, you know, most people talk about change
- 2:50that I'm with, but very few actually become
- 2:54it.
- 2:55When we become what we want to embody,
- 2:58it happens.
- 3:00If your life doesn't show it, it's not
- 3:03real yet.
- 3:05I think that causes change to affect people
- 3:09in the fact that they're never going to
- 3:10get something, and that's not true.
- 3:12It's just they haven't aligned with it yet.
- 3:15And in a world full of noise, what
- 3:18people trust is not what you say.
- 3:20It's what you consistently do.
- 3:22We've said this before, actions speak louder than
- 3:24words, right?
- 3:25So let's dive right in.
- 3:27Number one, guys, let your life be evidence.
- 3:31Results are the only proof that cannot be
- 3:35debated.
- 3:36Can't debate results, right?
- 3:39Number two, results speak louder than claims people
- 3:44make.
- 3:45What you produce matters more than what you
- 3:48promise.
- 3:51That's another insight that I think a lot
- 3:53of people miss, and they try to stuff
- 3:56it under a rug, and that's just not
- 3:59good.
- 4:00Number three, guys, change should show growth, but
- 4:06must be visible to be believable.
- 4:08Hey, there's my slogan, BelieveMeAchieve.com.
- 4:12So change should show growth, must be visible
- 4:18to be believable.
- 4:21Yeah, if you can't see something, how can
- 4:23you believe it?
- 4:24But, you know, when we talk about things
- 4:26that we can't see, like religion or other
- 4:29things, we have to have faith.
- 4:31We have to have blind faith that what
- 4:33we know is going to exist, even though
- 4:35we can't see it here with our two
- 4:37eyes or feel it with our hands.
- 4:39We know that we know that we know
- 4:41it's on its way or we know that
- 4:44we have it already.
- 4:45We know it's ours.
- 4:46Like this book being published, I knew it
- 4:49was mine even before it got an ISBN
- 4:51number.
- 4:51I just felt it in every core of
- 4:53my body.
- 4:54Number four, guys, quiet proof beats loud promises.
- 4:59Consistency outperforms hype every single time, every time.
- 5:05Number five, guys, live what you say.
- 5:09Alignment builds instant credibility.
- 5:12Alignment builds instant credibility.
- 5:15And as I'm out here in the beautiful
- 5:17outdoors, I'm seeing the beautiful birds.
- 5:20One literally came literally about two feet from
- 5:24my foot.
- 5:25It was just interesting to see the bird
- 5:26just staying there.
- 5:27And they're just kind of like just moving
- 5:28very slowly and they're watching me and I'm
- 5:31watching them.
- 5:31And it's just, it's really neat.
- 5:33Number six, guys, integrity.
- 5:36Yeah.
- 5:37Integrity is visible.
- 5:38People feel what is real without explanation.
- 5:42And that bird is just you can't see
- 5:44it, but that bird is just he's just
- 5:46there and he's watching.
- 5:48I'm waving to him and he's just kind
- 5:50of he's staying.
- 5:51He's about a good three or four feet
- 5:53from me.
- 5:54And it's nice when nature comes so close
- 5:57to you, you can actually just see the
- 6:00bird.
- 6:00How are you?
- 6:01I'm just waving to him and he's looking
- 6:03back at me.
- 6:04And it's really nice.
- 6:06All right.
- 6:06Number seven, transformation leaves fingerprints.
- 6:10Real change always leaves a trace.
- 6:14That's inevitable, OK?
- 6:16You may not want to accept that.
- 6:18You may not want to believe that.
- 6:20But everything you've ever done and ever will
- 6:23do will leave a trace, whether it's good
- 6:24or whether it's bad.
- 6:25Right.
- 6:26Number eight, be the example, not the excuse.
- 6:30So many people in our world make excuses
- 6:32to why they don't want to do something,
- 6:35why it can't be done.
- 6:36Your life should demonstrate possibility, accountability, not a
- 6:40bunch of excuses.
- 6:41Hey, how are you?
- 6:43I'm just I'm really just fathomed by this
- 6:45bird, just like he's getting closer to me
- 6:47and he's like coming around a circle and
- 6:50he's looking at me and he's just like
- 6:53he's just watching me.
- 6:54I know you can't see that.
- 6:56It's like it's really amazing to watch that.
- 6:59All right.
- 6:59Number nine, guys.
- 7:01Consistency makes belief believable.
- 7:03Repetition builds trust.
- 7:04Maybe I should have had a camera on
- 7:06the bird.
- 7:07He's like getting so close to me, he's
- 7:08going around the back.
- 7:09All right.
- 7:10Number 10.
- 7:11Number 10.
- 7:12Character is your loudest message.
- 7:15Who you are speaks before you do.
- 7:19So that means that your presence comes from
- 7:25your character, comes from your integrity.
- 7:31Comes from your belief that you are something
- 7:36or you're not something right.
- 7:37I want to go back to Henry Ford
- 7:39and he said something very important.
- 7:42If you believe it and you believe you
- 7:46can, you're right, if you believe it and
- 7:48you believe you can't, you're also right.
- 7:51So our belief creates our reality.
- 7:54In other words, our perceptions create reality.
- 7:58Number 11, guys.
- 7:59Proof is built daily.
- 8:01Small actions compound into undeniable results.
- 8:07Proof is built daily.
- 8:09Small actions compound into undeniable results.
- 8:16That's something you might have heard of before,
- 8:20but maybe you just kind of pushed it
- 8:23under a pillow or something because you didn't
- 8:25believe that that actually meant something.
- 8:29The people that actually have the proof.
- 8:33And have been able to use it and
- 8:36share it, live by this every single day.
- 8:40Number 12, let healing become visible.
- 8:44Growth should show in behavior.
- 8:47There's three more birds.
- 8:48They just literally swooped.
- 8:49You missed it.
- 8:50They swooped right around me here sitting outside
- 8:53and they're all right with other birds doing
- 8:56and they're just kind of like now I've
- 8:57got two of them and they're both looking
- 8:59at me.
- 8:59OK.
- 9:00All right.
- 9:01Nature is fun.
- 9:02So let healing become visible.
- 9:05Growth should show in behavior.
- 9:07That's your behavior.
- 9:09Number 13, your habits are testimony.
- 9:13What you repeat defines who you're becoming.
- 9:19So when a pattern gets repeated.
- 9:23OK.
- 9:25It starts to shape.
- 9:28Who we are.
- 9:30Our actions, our integrity, our character.
- 9:34All right.
- 9:34And I think that's something that a lot
- 9:36of people.
- 9:39Have tried to.
- 9:42Shall I say, put a lower priority on
- 9:45because they think that because it's one thing,
- 9:51OK, that it means nothing, but actually it
- 9:54means so much more because these are your
- 9:57habits and these small habits are what turn
- 10:00into your life.
- 10:03Number 14, walk your message into the room,
- 10:08right?
- 10:09Your presence should confirm your words.
- 10:13I didn't say pick up a cell phone
- 10:14and text your message.
- 10:16I didn't say email your message.
- 10:18I said, walk your message into the room,
- 10:21whether it's on a piece of paper or
- 10:23whether you're going to deliver it.
- 10:26Your presence should confirm your words.
- 10:29And I think when somebody knows that our
- 10:32presence is there, it oftentimes gives us more
- 10:38respect.
- 10:40Because there's a genuineness that accompanies it.
- 10:46Number 15, guys, private discipline creates public credibility,
- 10:55private discipline creates public credibility.
- 10:59What you do unseen.
- 11:03Builds what is seen.
- 11:06All right, so what are we trying to
- 11:07say, John, what you do in private, the
- 11:11actions, your attitude carries through to what will
- 11:18be seen in public.
- 11:20If even if you're saying, well, John, no,
- 11:22that's not going to happen.
- 11:23It is because your actions, your mannerisms are
- 11:28all going to flow through to your public
- 11:30character.
- 11:32There's no separation between your private character and
- 11:34your public character, your private character might be
- 11:37a little quieter, right?
- 11:39But your public character is going to inherit
- 11:42a lot of those same traits.
- 11:45Number 16, earn trust through pattern.
- 11:52Earn trust through a pattern or through patterns.
- 11:55Consistency over time creates certainty.
- 12:07Consistency over time creates certainty.
- 12:13So earn trust through patterns.
- 12:18Consistency over time creates certainty.
- 12:21This is why, you know, I was watching,
- 12:25I think it was Below Deck when I
- 12:27was on the plane the other day and,
- 12:29you know, there was this one person that
- 12:32brought on these people that were going to
- 12:34date and he did something very interesting.
- 12:37He said to the, to the singles, he
- 12:39said that he got down to the last
- 12:42two and he says, well, I'm not really
- 12:44ready to make a decision, so I'd like
- 12:48to date you both and just see how
- 12:50it plays out.
- 12:52And they're like, I don't think I really
- 12:55like that idea.
- 12:56And the other one came out very rudely
- 12:57and said, well, we're not a buffet.
- 13:00So the fact that people want to impose
- 13:03their agenda.
- 13:05That's terrible, OK?
- 13:08That obviously broke trust.
- 13:13In him, and the fact that they were
- 13:19saying these things was a power play to
- 13:24get him to make a decision.
- 13:25In fact, one of the batches just walked
- 13:28right, walked right, right off the boat when
- 13:33it got to the dock.
- 13:35The other one was kind of like going
- 13:38to get ready to walk out and wasn't
- 13:40happy.
- 13:41But he said to her, you know, I'd
- 13:43like to still keep seeing you.
- 13:44He's like, oh, I guess it's OK.
- 13:48And I think sometimes people try to push
- 13:51their agendas on others when.
- 13:55That's just not right.
- 13:56It's not right.
- 13:57That breaks the circle of trust.
- 14:00And when somebody acts a certain way consistently.
- 14:05And we know that that's when we build
- 14:09a trust, that's when we build this camaraderie,
- 14:13right?
- 14:14This rapport, it doesn't happen in five seconds,
- 14:18guys, it does not.
- 14:21Number 17, guys, number 17, show what growth
- 14:26looks like.
- 14:27Become the example others need to see, hear
- 14:31and experience, show what growth looks like, be
- 14:38an example of what growth will be, be
- 14:43that example.
- 14:45Number 18, guys, let your actions answer questions.
- 14:50Results remove doubt.
- 15:00When you demonstrate something and everyone else says
- 15:03you can't, it suddenly causes this big ripple
- 15:08effect and people do like a like a
- 15:13quick backtake, like what was that about?
- 15:16But it gets people to re-evaluate because
- 15:20you're able to do what they said you
- 15:22couldn't do.
- 15:24Number 19, guys, let your actions answer questions.
- 15:25Guys, stability is contagious.
- 15:28Yeah, let's just get over that.
- 15:30People follow what feels grounded.
- 15:33People follow what feels, are you ready for
- 15:36this word, guys?
- 15:38Comfortable.
- 15:39But I said before that success actually starts
- 15:43to happen when you learn to get comfortable
- 15:50being uncomfortable.
- 15:52That's what I've said before.
- 15:53And that is the truth.
- 15:55But a lot of people don't want to
- 15:58admit that.
- 16:02They don't want to admit that.
- 16:04They want to just sit on that nice
- 16:05warm chair or snuggled up under the covers
- 16:09or that hot cocoa or that ice cold
- 16:14latte on a hot day.
- 16:15They want what's comfortable.
- 16:19They don't go by discomfort.
- 16:21And that's an important thing that I think
- 16:24we all need to realize.
- 16:26Number 20, demonstrate the possibility you preach.
- 16:32Be the evidence it works.
- 16:36So demonstrate what is possible and then show
- 16:40people through your actions and results that, hey,
- 16:45it works to believe it works to start
- 16:50perceiving your reality.
- 16:56Okay.
- 16:57Neville Goddard said something a long time ago,
- 16:59and I follow him a lot.
- 17:00He said, you know, to be where you
- 17:02want to be, you need to live the
- 17:05feeling of the wish fulfilled.
- 17:09That's a very powerful statement, but most people
- 17:12don't do it because they're trying to force
- 17:16it.
- 17:16They're not allowing their emotions.
- 17:18They're not allowing their mind and body to
- 17:21go somewhere.
- 17:22A wise person once told me, if you
- 17:24go somewhere in the mind, you will eventually
- 17:27go there in the body.
- 17:30So go there in the mind and the
- 17:32body will eventually follow.
- 17:35Number 21, guys, embody the standard.
- 17:40Do not lower it, live it daily.
- 17:44Embody the standard, support the standard.
- 17:51Don't lower it.
- 17:56Don't change it because this is going to
- 17:58be easier because it's going to be more
- 18:00comfortable.
- 18:01Don't do that.
- 18:05A lot of people do because they don't
- 18:07want to feel uncomfortable.
- 18:11Number 22, influence grows from alignment.
- 18:16People trust what is real, what they see,
- 18:20what they hear, what they touch, what they
- 18:22taste, what they smell.
- 18:24That's what they define as real.
- 18:30You can't negotiate that.
- 18:33It's valid.
- 18:35Number 23, do not market what you do
- 18:38not live.
- 18:41Don't preach, don't share what you don't live.
- 18:46Authenticity cannot be faked.
- 18:51No, it can't be.
- 18:53If you try it, you might fool some
- 18:57of the people some of the time, but
- 18:59you're never going to fool all the people
- 19:01all of the time, so start being authentic.
- 19:08Your life will change exponentially in a real
- 19:13positive way.
- 19:14Number 24, make progress undeniable.
- 19:19Consistency makes you impossible to ignore.
- 19:23When you're consistent, things keep happening over and
- 19:26over and over and over again, and people
- 19:30see that kind of behavior, they build a
- 19:33trust, they build a respect, they build a
- 19:37commodity with you, a rapport with you.
- 19:43People look for patterns because those that operate
- 19:47in patterns generally stay that way.
- 19:50They're what we call reliable, right?
- 19:55Number 25, guys become hard to dismiss.
- 20:02Results eliminate opinions.
- 20:08Results are truth.
- 20:09Results are fact.
- 20:12Okay.
- 20:14Become hard to dismiss results.
- 20:16Eliminate opinions.
- 20:19Number 26 guys.
- 20:21Let change behavior.
- 20:24Do the talking transformation speaks for itself.
- 20:32You're trying to achieve something and suddenly that
- 20:36happens.
- 20:37When I say suddenly, you're working on something
- 20:39for a while and to you, it seems
- 20:41sudden, but it's taken a while.
- 20:47That locks in the fact that the behaviors
- 20:49and the actions you are taking are the
- 20:52correct ones and they should be rewarded again,
- 20:56again, again, again, again, number 27 guys.
- 21:00Authenticity is powerful proof.
- 21:03Truth carries weight without any kind of effort.
- 21:10Truth carries weight without effort.
- 21:12So when you're true to yourself, it's very
- 21:16easy to be true to others.
- 21:19When you're true to others, more people flock
- 21:23to and say, you know what?
- 21:24I want to hang around with somebody like
- 21:27you.
- 21:27I want to be with you.
- 21:29You say what's on your mind.
- 21:32You're not afraid to tell the truth.
- 21:34You're accountable.
- 21:36These are the qualities people look for.
- 21:38Number 28, your life can validate hope.
- 21:42Others believe when they see it in you,
- 21:44when they see it in you, they suddenly
- 21:49have this epiphany moment, like, wow, that's incredible,
- 21:57but it doesn't always happen immediately, it takes
- 22:02some time, but when that happens, either a
- 22:11slow change or a quick change happens and
- 22:17you realize that you're either going the right
- 22:21direction or you're going the wrong direction, number
- 22:2529 guys.
- 22:28Build evidence with repetition.
- 22:33Consistency creates confidence.
- 22:37There it is again.
- 22:38It's that pattern, consistency, confidence, accountability, trust.
- 22:49That's what people look for.
- 22:50They look for these qualities, but some people
- 22:55will do some things today or some things
- 22:57tomorrow, and they're not consistent in their business
- 23:01life.
- 23:01They're not consistent in their relationships.
- 23:04They're not consistent in any of their behaviors.
- 23:08So people define them as a flake, somebody
- 23:13that's not all there.
- 23:15They have lots of words for these people.
- 23:17Someone that doesn't have quote unquote their act
- 23:20together.
- 23:22People that have different types of actions in
- 23:28the same environments cause others to step back
- 23:33and say, wait a minute, maybe we should
- 23:36check on this first.
- 23:37Or maybe we should think about this, right?
- 23:40This happens a lot in job interviews.
- 23:42People get a good perception of you, but
- 23:46then what happens is they want to meet
- 23:48you in person or they want to have
- 23:50a video interview with you that is different
- 23:53than the quick handshake or the quick meeting
- 23:55that you had together, they want to see,
- 23:58do your skills and does your attitude hold
- 24:03up in another environment?
- 24:05Like their environment.
- 24:07Or when let's say it's more off the
- 24:11cuff or you're being asked questions that are
- 24:18pretty straightforward, but they're meant to get your
- 24:23genuine responses.
- 24:24When you ask somebody a question and they're
- 24:27on a job interview or what have you,
- 24:29and they take too long to answer that
- 24:31question, do you know what that means?
- 24:34It means that they are trying to reconstruct,
- 24:40but they're not.
- 24:41They're constructing something that they have no idea
- 24:45about.
- 24:46So for example, I'm going to ask you
- 24:48about the science of, I don't know, let's
- 24:53say a pretty big one is meteorology.
- 24:56And you have no experience about meteorology.
- 25:00And so I ask you, well, tell me
- 25:03what was it that made you want to
- 25:05get a meteorology?
- 25:07And you're sitting there like a deer in
- 25:10the headlights.
- 25:15Well, you know, it's about weather and I
- 25:17like weather.
- 25:18That's a horrible answer.
- 25:21Or they might say something to you like,
- 25:24so tell us what was your most interesting
- 25:28experience when you started forecasting the weather?
- 25:35Here we go again, the deer in the
- 25:36headlights.
- 25:40Well, I think it was the day when
- 25:44I said it was going to rain and
- 25:47it snowed or, and that doesn't mean anything
- 25:49either.
- 25:49There's no, there's no connection to anything.
- 25:53So what you're trying to do so hard
- 25:55with the deer in the headlights is you're
- 25:57trying to construct something that never really existed.
- 26:01It's one thing.
- 26:02If you actually went to meteorologist school or
- 26:05you reported the weather, or you were a
- 26:07part of a weather group in school, you
- 26:10can say, well, gee, you know, I remember
- 26:12the time when I was in whatever grade
- 26:16it was and we were working on this
- 26:17weather project and I was so fascinated with
- 26:20the way rain actually comes back and the
- 26:25way it's this cycle starting with the water.
- 26:27Now, if you didn't study it, you wouldn't
- 26:29be able to make that up.
- 26:31Okay.
- 26:32That's important.
- 26:34Also, somebody that's trying to construct data.
- 26:37It's not factual.
- 26:39They just pick things out of wherever.
- 26:41Okay.
- 26:42Number 30 guys, build living proof, stop explaining
- 26:49and start showing.
- 26:51So many people I know want to explain,
- 26:55want to prove things.
- 26:58Don't try to prove anything.
- 27:00Show me your results.
- 27:04Become the change Gandhi, right?
- 27:08Become the change you want to be.
- 27:10I love that quote.
- 27:11So become living proof.
- 27:14And the way you become living proof is
- 27:16by becoming the change.
- 27:20That's powerful guys.
- 27:22That's extremely powerful.
- 27:24So, um, before I wrap up tonight, I
- 27:27want to thank you first of all, for
- 27:28joining me this evening, if any part of
- 27:32this show tonight hit you in any small
- 27:35or big way and cause a shift, stop
- 27:38talking about who you want to become.
- 27:41Start proving it with your actions because ladies
- 27:45and gentlemen, real influence is not built through
- 27:49words.
- 27:49It is built through the evidence you set
- 27:52with your life.
- 27:53When your life reflects your message, you do
- 27:56not need to convince anyone.
- 27:59They see it.
- 27:59They feel it.
- 28:00They believe it.
- 28:01And that ladies and gentlemen is when everything
- 28:04changes, your credibility grows, your impact expands, and
- 28:09your presence becomes undeniable.
- 28:11You do not need more talk.
