- 0:00Hey, Tabitha, great Joe. I like that part where you mentioned Springfield?
- 0:04Did you know that's where you are? Hey, why don't you stay
- 0:08and have a bite. Oh you're so hot. If only i've seen you
- 0:13before I met my wife. Oh, Homer, you're sweet. But oh,
- 0:19you're talking to the chicken. Don't tell the hamburger in my car.
- 0:24Four Finger Discount, dude, Welcome to Fourfinger Discount, the podcast where we've
- 0:44always been protection when we're handling our food. This week we hit to review
- 0:47the finale of season seventeen of The Simpsons. It is margin Homer turned a
- 0:51couple play I'm Dendo and I Am Guy. And that's right, folks,
- 0:54this podcast does sound a little more mature than usual. That's because in the
- 0:58last couple of days down on I both celebrated birthdays. Yes, indeed,
- 1:03we are one year older and perhaps two years less wiser than those What did
- 1:08you have for your birthday? What do I get? Let's see the traditional
- 1:14sort of middle age in things cologne, clothes, blue rays and books and
- 1:21a very nice lamb dinner courtesy of the lovely Louise. Did she cook at
- 1:26herself? She did? Indeed, she whacked that lamb shoulder and the slow
- 1:29cooker and cooked up a little broccolini and a very nice salad, and oh
- 1:34yeah it was. It was a good dinner. It was a very nice,
- 1:37very nice meal in of course, wonderful company. How about yourself,
- 1:40man, how did they add the Dando clan spoil you rotten? Well,
- 1:44my kids spot me rotten by giving me the flu. So, like I
- 1:47said, we were in England for a month, they didn't go to daycare.
- 1:49Of course, they came back to Australia, went to daycare, got
- 1:53the flu, then gave it to me. So I spent my birthday in
- 1:56bed, but I did up just a record a review of Futurama for our
- 2:01Towers of Future and podcasts available on our Patreon. So if you want to
- 2:05hear us review Futurama, you can check that out on our Patreon. Right
- 2:07now. Me being unwell, but I powered through. If you want to
- 2:12hear Dando sound like both Patty and Selma, Yes, welcome to Towns of
- 2:15Futurama. Also, I think we need to mention that we have new sponsors
- 2:20here at four Finger Discount. Mister Davis, we have Angel Grove Collectibles.
- 2:23So an Australian based collectible store, a family business that specialize in our retro
- 2:28toys as well as the Lattis and Greatest Anime collectibles as well as I was
- 2:30Ninja Turtles and trading cards and NBA and a W. Holley Wrestling, whole
- 2:35bunch of stuff. I was just really enlabored with the whole retro stuff because
- 2:39they don't just have like I said, I've I'm a big fan of Power
- 2:40Rangers and Ninja Turtles, but they have all the stuff from like ninety three,
- 2:44like the Power Range and the late eighties Turtles as well. So like
- 2:46I was honestly like a kid in the candy store when I want on their
- 2:49website, I was like, oh my goodness, these guys are awesome.
- 2:52I'm very glad that you felt like a kid in the candy store. But
- 2:53I mean it sounds like even an old battle axe of myself could feel like
- 2:58a kid and the candy store. If you're going way back to the nineties
- 3:00and the eighties, this is fantastic stuff. And look more power to Angel
- 3:05Grove for doing this. Name sounds for me. Where does Angel Grove come
- 3:07from? Where? What's Angel Grove again? Angel Grove is where the power
- 3:10ages are from. That's where Rita always tries to destroy Angel Grove. At
- 3:15the powerngeres have to protect Angel Grove. Basically, what the Turtles do for
- 3:17New York, they do for Angel Grove. See, if this organization has
- 3:22giving themselves this name, they are clearly bona fide, So by all means,
- 3:27give these guys your business. And by the way, if you know
- 3:30you're a listener of four Fingered Discount, you might be able to get a
- 3:34little bit of a discount. If you know what I'm talking about, dandel

- 4:46and save yourself ten percent off your order and get yourself a bunch of retro
- 4:49and anime figures. Margin. I haven't turned a couple of player. I'm
- 4:53not gonna lie. I was not excited going into this I thought, this
- 4:56just looks like it's going to be crap. I read I read the blurb
- 4:58and I'm like, this sess sounds stupid. But I enjoyed it a lot
- 5:00more than I thought I was going to. I really did. I thought
- 5:01Mandy Moore was really fine as Tabitha. Mandy Moore was very good. I
- 5:05didn't realize until the very end that it was her. I'm like, they've
- 5:09got a guest star ind for this, who is it? Let's find out?
- 5:11And and I thought it might have been Brittany because they played up toxic
- 5:15with the closing credits. It was like a play on teens. And I
- 5:17was like, it was pretty spears and I was like, oh, it's
- 5:19Mandy. Why are you playing Why are you taking off of Britney Spears on
- 5:23That makes no sense. But anyway, it was very I mean when the
- 5:27character of Tabitha Vicks sort of came on board and I'm like, Okay,
- 5:30this is very Britney. But I was also it's very Christina Aguilera as well.
- 5:33But then then I just started getting very reminiscent of the early two thousands,
- 5:38like I remember the good times when teenage female pop stars or teen or
- 5:43pop stars in the early twenties or whatever were parading around and not a whole
- 5:47lot. And we remember when Britney Spears, when she was sucked still in
- 5:51her teens. Her first single or first album cover was her on their knees
- 5:55looking up, But then it was Mandy Moore around that period sort of jumped
- 6:03into you know, she's quite well, she's had a longer career than one
- 6:10might expect. Actually, I mean, you know, she's sort of branch
- 6:12more out into acting than I think singing. I think that's maybe what she's
- 6:15best known for now. She was on that show This is Us for goodness
- 6:17knows how long. But she had her song Candy I think in the early
- 6:21two thousands, which is very in the in the Brittany Christina sort of vein
- 6:26of like, oh I'm a naughty girl. She was like the girl next
- 6:30door version of like Britta's bears, yeah exactly, and she was like the
- 6:33one you take home to meet mum, you bring home. Brittany's like,
- 6:40don't bring that girl to my hat again. You bring Christina home at all.
- 6:44You don't let you don't you don't acknowledge access to your folks, all
- 6:50due respect, of these fine women, all talented and hardworking performers. So
- 6:56yeah, but I thought Mandy did a very good job. And look,
- 7:00I've got to concur with you. I mean, going into this episode,
- 7:02Season seventeen has been kind of hit and miss, and I must admit it.
- 7:06Look at first glance, I'm like, this looks like it could be
- 7:11played out or kind of stupid. But no, I mean it was kind
- 7:14of entertaining. I've got a few good laughs out of a few bits of
- 7:17it. I mean it did have some issues that season seventeen issues have had,
- 7:23but I think I was pleasantly surprised at least it wasn't a Homer and
- 7:27Marge splitting up story when they When I was first watching it, I was
- 7:30like, I was gonna end up with the counselors being the ones that I
- 7:32have to be canceled in the end. Still here. No, even when
- 7:35we got the moment where he was massaging Tabitha, even Marge was able to
- 7:40realize, no, he was just massaging here. He wasn't actually doing anything
- 7:42wrong. Because I was like, they split up over this, I'm going
- 7:44to be I'm done, I'm done. But no, thankfully, not so
- 7:46at least it wasn't a margin a Homer splitting up story, and for the
- 7:48most part they were that they were they were a loving couple, and there
- 7:53wasn't I didn't really do anything this episode to make you sort of roll your
- 7:56eyes as usually season seven. It kind of felt like the damage was done,
- 8:03though. I mean, maybe that's just prolonged exposure to, you know,
- 8:05Homer being an absolute jerk and Marge just enabling that. So I mean,
- 8:11at least the episode sort of acknowledge that when you know, Bart and
- 8:16Lisa are playing tether balls, like they're always arguing, can hear it now?
- 8:18And it's like, okay, well, at least you've you've got a
- 8:20cop to the fact that it's not always happy families in the Simpson household,
- 8:26or the couples I will argue, or even healthy couples argue. Everyone argues
- 8:31that's true that when Homer's being a dick for no good reason, that's the
- 8:33difference, a difference between just having squabbles and just Homer being rude. And
- 8:37I will admit, you're right. There were moments in this episode where Marge
- 8:41just seems somewhat defeated and just accepting of her of where their relationship is.
- 8:46But for the most part I thought they were positioned as a loving couple.
- 8:50Yeah. I mean the bit of the start where you know, he's that
- 8:54dumb but kind of funny bit where he's like, I'll scumble these tickets and
- 9:00with that money, I'll get more tickets and all that kind of stuff,
- 9:01and then he's what does he sees wig him and he's like, oh,
- 9:05we better make out so you know, I'm not suspected, pretend that you
- 9:07love me. All those kind of stuffs. That's not horrible. It's not
- 9:13horrible, but it's kind of dopey. Yeah. I also enjoyed the bandwagon
- 9:16aspect of this though. The bandwagon theory like how, especially with sports teams,
- 9:22you don't go watching when they're losing, but when they're winning, you're
- 9:24the number one fan that hit way too close to home. From when it
- 9:28seemed like the Geelong Cats might have had a chance to get into the into
- 9:33the into the finals this year, I was like, go Catters, and
- 9:37when they didn't, it was like, oh, if you have got September
- 9:39off. Yeah, I mean last year it was always like you get like
- 9:43a mulligan when you win the Premiership the year before the following season. It's
- 9:48like, you know, well it doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter,
- 9:52no, I mean, and plus, you know, every every team,
- 9:54every organization, it needs to have, it needs to have lulls in which
- 9:58sort of regroup. It's like, okay, well, you know, we
- 10:01had a bunch of great players, but not even great play can play forever.
- 10:05I mean, you've got to bring in some new blood and then you've
- 10:07got to sort of work out how to integrate these new members into a team,
- 10:11and you know it's going to be ups and downs and the Cats will
- 10:15rise again. Hey, my favorite, what were your favorite moments from margin
- 10:18Harbittan A couple of players? Davis, It's it's funny that you mean that
- 10:22because I'm just getting off the game to the bandwagon. I really like that
- 10:26too. That makes a hell of a lot of sense. One bit I
- 10:31really liked, and props to Julie Kavner for this, was when Tabitha shows
- 10:37up at the door and of the Simpsons house and says, you know,
- 10:41me and Buck are breaking up or whatever, and she's kind of like,
- 10:46no, what what oh oh what No, It's just this sort of onegoing
- 10:52a little bit of a riff that I know I just really got to kick
- 10:54out of. I thought Julie Vine's a terrific job with that one. I
- 11:00loved Mo's reaction when Tabitha's doing her very sexy number of likes and he yells
- 11:09out at what's the guy's name? And how's the field? She's turning on?
- 11:11A widow like me? Your wives don creep like me? Yeah?
- 11:16Weird? I love it when when Mo just acknowledges that he's kind of a
- 11:24sexy will creep. I always have those thoughts, So I don't always have
- 11:28these thoughts. But sometimes you know, you're watching your movie and you know,
- 11:31not be a very you know, raunchy sex scene, and you think,
- 11:35imagine being like this actress's husband, or you know, in the other
- 11:39way, like the male that being his wife watching him just getting it on
- 11:41with this other person on the screen, knowing that millions of people are going
- 11:45to watch them with their kid out, you know, on screen. It's
- 11:48like you just have to accept it and get used to if you're an actor
- 11:50and actor and of your marriage or an actor, I guess, But the
- 11:52thing is, I don't know if I can handle it, just known as
- 11:54millions of people just sitting in a cinema around the world, watching on the
- 11:58computers at home with a fucking box of tissues next to them, watching your
- 12:01partner just getting the kid out. You know, I always think of the
- 12:05parents, parents, yeesh, spouse that knowing that you know, people are
- 12:09watching your spouse getting on with somebody else, simulating getting on with somebody else,
- 12:15it would just it would be hard to get used to. I think,
- 12:18Yeah, I'm just picturing you know, mom and dad, you know,
- 12:20going to you know, driving their their their kid to drama classes.
- 12:24And I said that want and all this stuff. It's like, Mom,
- 12:31Dad, I got accepted the Julliard Drama School in New York City. Oh
- 12:35oh, you're going to be a famous actor. That's one of them.
- 12:37Somewhere down the line. They've got like the Sharon Stone rolling Basic instct's like
- 12:41god damn. So I mean, I know, I do find that I
- 12:50did relate to Buck in that situation, like I'd be like I'd be feeling
- 12:54the same way, Buddy. I enjoyed when when Bart's watching her do her
- 13:00show, He's like, if the urge to just give her a five dollar
- 13:01bill, it's funny. I mean you look at you look at the young
- 13:09sort of female music artist, these young female musical artist, but you know
- 13:15you're the likes of Billie Eilish or Olivia Rodrigo or something, and yeah,
- 13:18and Billy it's particularly and she seems to like live in hoodies and tracksuits more
- 13:24anything else. Then you go back, you know, twenty years or someone
- 13:26has basically when the complete opposite times have changed. Yeah, you got christianli
- 13:31are dirty and now this what's better? Who knows. I also really enjoyed
- 13:37the bait and switch with the chicken. It's like, you can't part of
- 13:41you knew they were going there, but for a second, there they have
- 13:43you. I'm like, surely not, surely not. It was almost like
- 13:48a relief. I was like, I thank gud he meant the chicken,
- 13:50because I was like, if Omer is flirting with this woman, I don't
- 13:52know if I could have forgiven him, Like he's done some horrible shit,
- 13:56but like, if he was just flirting with this chick, It's like I
- 13:58was about to write the contract between this and Colonel Homer. But this guy
- 14:03a bit like Colonel Homer, didn't it in some ways? Certainly? Yeah,
- 14:05yeah, but look, I think the minute you see a bucket of
- 14:09chicken at Homer in the same vicinity, I mean, are you being in
- 14:13a fishnota of the colonel will know. This is like, oh, hey,
- 14:15who will he avoids for you? Baby? I want to hear something
- 14:20exciting? Yes, yes, oh god yes. For the first time ever,

- 16:22Davis, I'm going to ask you my first question. Mine is who played
- 16:26Gloria Huncherella in Hunch What's in the Box? Oh? Was it Gwyneth Paltrow?
- 16:34It was Quitneth Paltrow, Yes, because I wrote damn pretty much?
- 16:37Well, okay, if that's the case. Who played guy who turned out
- 16:42to be other guy? That was Hardy Kloon, supermodel Hardy Clum and former
- 16:48spouse of Seal I believe. Also also mentioned in that castles was Anthony Hopkins
- 16:52and the late George C. Scott am I growing and the city of the
- 16:57city of Lethbridge or something albe Bridge. Yeah, Yeah, that was playing
- 17:02New York. So that's my question to you, So back at you.
- 17:07My next question is what were the names of Lenny and Carl's former girlfriends.
- 17:11One's dead. It was a tough, tough break for Jill and Kelly.
- 17:14Yeah, Jill and Kelly. There you go, Jill apparently dead, Kelly
- 17:17apparently work on the streets. Yeah. My question, let's go back to
- 17:22Hunch. How many episodes of Hunch did they make? Oh, I don't
- 17:26know. I'm assuming it was the same as the Simpsons. So five it
- 17:29was five hundred and eighteen, five hundred and thirty or something very very close,
- 17:33five hundred and twelve, twelve, okay, and it was five hundred
- 17:37and something. All right, if I'm assuming, let's have a look this
- 17:38was what episode of the Simpsons. Let's have a look. I'll be able
- 17:41to find it somewhere. It's twenty. I think it's get list of episodes
- 17:47when you go to like the so this list of episodes, then it has
- 17:49what number it is when you go down that way. So we go to
- 17:52season seventeen, season seventeen, scrolling all the way down to seventeen. Did
- 18:00almost their people? I promise it was so three hundred and seventy yeights.
- 18:04There was nowhere near it. That theory was so good until we got to
- 18:11the actual fact that we're confirmed it. I know. I was like,
- 18:14that makes so much sense to have that. You sound it's so confident.
- 18:17It's like, oh, I've cracked the case, so it makes sense,
- 18:19right, You're you're like hunch, you were basically hunched. Yes, I
- 18:25would watch. I'm a surpris this show doesn't exist or the most shows are
- 18:30kind of like this, So aren't they like that's what they're taking the piss
- 18:33out of here? I think so. I mean, you know, something
- 18:36like The Mentalist, which probably went for something like five twelve me Mentalist in
- 18:40my head as well, all those kind of shows. We're currently watching White
- 18:47Collar you mentioned, yeah, yeah, and it's very similar to Satan.
- 18:51I mean, it's very similar to what's the other show bird Notice. Yeah.
- 18:55Yeah. There's been a lot of a lot of talking, I guess
- 18:59in the media recently. A Bad House Suits is like the most popular thing
- 19:03on Netflix. Netflix is throwing all this money at like, you know,
- 19:07let's make these huge action movies with you know, the Rock and Gallaga Dot
- 19:11and all this kind of stuff, and it's like, now we just want
- 19:12to watch the you know, just a basic TV show about lawyers. Yeah,
- 19:18we want to watch single female lawyer towards the end. Suits, Yeah,
- 19:23I know, I've never really watched it. I mean, Lose Sun
- 19:27got very into it for some reason, right into it. But the last
- 19:32you know, when you're watching your show and you're right into it and then
- 19:34you just lose touch with it, you just sort of give up, you
- 19:37know. And it wasn't that we went out and deliberately stopped watching Suits.
- 19:41We just lost interest and we ended up going back to it and just finishing
- 19:45it because we started it. I was just like, yeah, well it
- 19:48kind of the same way. Yeah, I mean I think The Blacklist just
- 19:51wrapped up after maybe ten seasons or eleven seasons. I gave up on that
- 19:55show. Nicola kept watching him, and she even she gave up after another
- 19:57season or two. Yeah, because because I'm the world's biggest James Spader found
- 20:00I was like, even I can't keep going with this. This is just
- 20:04kind of this is getting a little both a little too complicated and a little
- 20:11too run of the mill. So yeah, but at the same time,
- 20:14I've got that feeling like I started there, so I should finish it.
- 20:18I don't know if I will. My find question, my final question few
- 20:21years. What has Homer got waiting in the car in the chicken sea?
- 20:25He says, don't tell the don't tell the burger, don't tell the hand
- 20:27baker. Yes, all right? Is that trivia? Then? Is that
- 20:30a trivia? All done? Mister Davis? I had a few more,
- 20:33but I mean we don't have to do more. Then I will hit you
- 20:38one more time. Tabitha big Star. How many rows might get horny at
- 20:47the Tabitha concert? Well, that would be ten? Has ten rows might
- 20:51get horny? That's something I would buy a ticket too. The Lovely Louise
- 20:57is currently on last trying to get tickets for the Chemical Brothers they've click playing
- 21:03at the Day on the Green. So yes, first ten rods will probably
- 21:07get horny for Chemical Brothers. The four Fingure Discount Network is brought to you

- 21:51the original air date of Margin Hammond Turned a Couple of Play was May
- 21:55twenty first, two thousand and six. Production code hab F one six,
- 22:00written by Joel H. Cohen, directed by Bob Anderson. Guests does Mandy
- 22:02Moore as Tabitha and Stacy Keach as Howard k Duff. The chalkboard gag have
- 22:07a great summer everybody, and the couch gag was the one we've already had
- 22:08before we allly couches come to life and start attacking everybody. So clearly this
- 22:12episode ran short. Well, you know, everyone's like, come on,
- 22:17let's time for summer holidays, schools out for summer. Yeah, it felt
- 22:21like that the writers kind of checked out the last couple episodes because they both
- 22:25ran very short and they had to have the full intro and the long couch
- 22:29gags and things like long, very long couch gag. Apologies to all the
- 22:32viewers on YouTube, by the way, seeing me cough off off Mike here,
- 22:34I've had to meet my mic because I'm still a little under the weather.
- 22:37I'm doing my best to power through. I'm doing my absolute best.
- 22:40So the episode kicks off with other family. Apologies to the YouTube viewers for
- 22:44just having to look at this. The family are watching Hunch and there's a
- 22:48little bit here where Bart says something that coup It was maybe the line about
- 22:52that no longer being able to watch butts on TV or whatever. But at
- 22:55the very beginning of his line, Nancy sounds exactly It's actually does Nelson's voice,
- 22:59and that treds aitions into Bart by the end of the sentence. Go
- 23:02back, listeners and viewers and watch that. See at the very start and
- 23:06the very start of Bart's sentence there here is one hundred percent Nelson's voice,
- 23:10and then it slowly transitions into Bart by the end because she does Nelson as
- 23:12well. That's interesting, Yeah, that would be the case. I know
- 23:17it was strange. Yeah, it's amazing. They've gotten five hundred and twelve
- 23:19shows out of this premise. Remember when we saw hundred's Buttons Shower. But
- 23:23they mentioned here that you can no longer watch butts on cable, which apparently
- 23:27was a reference to Dennis Friends re MYPD Blue. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:33NYPD Blue was a big deal in the mid nineties when it's like,
- 23:37oh, I think they actually said some swear words and you've got to see
- 23:40a bare bit. Well, we watched the first episode and it was just
- 23:42like boobs on and I was like, what is happening here? Not expect
- 23:45this from a nineteen ninety one years or whatever it is. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:49it's all on Disney Plus. At the moment, our pals at Disney
- 23:52Plus put the complete complete run of NYPD Blue, the early David Caruso gears,
- 23:57and then they watching, Yeah it's a really good show. Okay,
- 24:02yeah yeah, and I mean as good as a time capital as well.
- 24:03I mean, god, it's nearly thirty years old. Now. I love
- 24:07watching the way they try and solve crime with like early nineties technology, the
- 24:10computers and stuff. I love when you watch like Law and Order they're like,
- 24:12you know, an electronic mail. He's got a wedding w w dut.
- 24:22But they're doing back backslash backsl http call and remember one week. But
- 24:27when people used to promote their websites and www dutt it always www dot.
- 24:32Now just don't say it anymore. Do you even type? Do you type
- 24:34www anymore? It doesn't even even type it. I don't reckon when the
- 24:38last time you WWW when you're looking for a website. I don't think I
- 24:41can't remember the last time I did that. I honestly do not recall.
- 24:45It just doesn't matter anymore. Yeah, but it's funny. It's not like
- 24:48you just made the decision not to. It's just you just stopped. And
- 24:52no one can really remember when they did. But we just all stopped.
- 24:55The Www was just taken away from our lives, and that's when AI first
- 24:59started to take over. Yeah, exactly right. Yeah, you're going to
- 25:02be a real arte conspiracy theorist of AI. Can sense it already. I
- 25:04already am, buddy. We're actually looking at Guy Davis right now. You
- 25:10want totally think this is the real guy. Guy's actually in the bath,
- 25:14sipping cocktails, Sirie do podcasting for Gay. Yeah, so Brock when he
- 25:23he cuts in here with the over the credits with the Isotopes update other in
- 25:27first position due to picking up Buck Mitchell, he's now joined the joined the
- 25:30team to the band wagon. Then we get Homer trying to scalp the tickets
- 25:36you mentioned that earlier, just a Homer being dumb scene, and Grandpa explains
- 25:40that he used to play here back in nineteen forty deuce. I love it
- 25:44when he has old terms like doucet for for the Springfield flowsies. Yeah.
- 25:49At Lisa points out only women's baseball was here, and he explains that he
- 25:52was one of the women had extra equipment. I was the center fielder for
- 25:57the Springfield flu gez. Hey wasn't much, but it kept me out of
- 26:03the war for a year. If he knew as a man, get him
- 26:07he could threaten my record for lady triples. That was a magical summer.
- 26:14At least explained why he did it. He didn't want to go to war.
- 26:17I would consider this. Yeah, look, I had to say it,
- 26:22but I would definitely be draft card burner, a draft dodger, a
- 26:30border jumper. I would yeah, definitely not go to War, and then
- 26:33we get Jasper, who was also trying to disguise himself as a woman as
- 26:37well, very much a shout out to League of their Own by the way,
- 26:40to the point where they're panning across the teams like those animate that looks
- 26:45like an animated version of but Donna and Rosie o'donald. Oh really, I
- 26:48didn't notice that. I think, sorry, not completely, not completely faithfully
- 26:52him, but just enough to I mean, of course he knew it's going
- 26:53to be a reference to League at their own, But the same time,
- 26:56it's like it's a very blatant reference to League. I always forget that Tom
- 26:59Hanks was that film, Like you were so awesome in that movie. It
- 27:02really what Yeah, it's just it's just this coach I just did not want
- 27:06to be. It's the Gordon Bombay of baseball. Yeah, but I think
- 27:12there's just some bit where the girl who has been crying at baseball doesn't and
- 27:17you know, I think Gina Davis sort of called in apps like stop yelling
- 27:19at these girls, and he's coming the next time. Next time that happens,
- 27:26you might want to It's like, oh, I know Hanks has been
- 27:30around for so long and everyone's like, oh, Tom Hanks me. But
- 27:33Jesus, Guy's good. I mean, you know, you don't stay,
- 27:36you don't stick around that long for if you're if you're bad at He's like,
- 27:38he's just really good. There's a quote for you, guys, acclaimed
- 27:44film reviewer Guy Davis Tomas Jesus good. You too can get into the lucrative
- 27:52world of film criticism. It doesn't stink. Yeah, have you ever done
- 27:59a headline you regret? They you look back now and get oh, man,
- 28:02that could have been so much better. But I've got something that didn't
- 28:04make it in Well, I think I've already said the one about the guy
- 28:08who was busted going in like one hundred and twenty in the sixties zone with
- 28:14his and he had his cat with him, and the headline I wanted was
- 28:17the first and the ferry pause. Come on, guys, give me all
- 28:22the awards now. And they didn't go with that. They didn't go with
- 28:26that. Have the shame, shame, real shame. But Grandpa has told
- 28:30his stories. Somehow ended up in the car park. They pushed him outside.
- 28:33Then Tabitha vix arrives to seeing the National Anthem. She is the wife
- 28:36of Buck the new big star of the Springfield Isotopes, and she cuts him
- 28:41into the national anthem with a new single. But again, Guy Davis,
- 28:42what do you want to say? I just wanted to say that in my
- 28:47research, well this episode, Tabitha was initially going to be named Fiona Vix,
- 28:51but they thought that's a little bit close to Fiona Apple, so they
- 28:56decided to go with Tabitha, which I think is quite frankly, a better
- 28:59name. Tabitha sounds much more vis the character. Yes, Fiona just seems
- 29:07like a lawyer to me. Tabitha seems like someone that you throw five dollar
- 29:11bills at. Apologies all what Tabitha's out there? But I'm sorry, I
- 29:15mean I don't I want to school with a couple of Fionas, and they
- 29:18always struck me as like they came from the farm and they're probably gonna go
- 29:22back to the farm. Hossy, can you see favorite song? Sluwly?
- 29:37And now here's something from my new album I'm trouble Listic. It's do you
- 29:42wee boy? Because you're no I'm troubledstic think you can control me? En
- 29:48be unrealistic? Hello, hey Buck, how'd you feel knowing your wife's turning
- 30:03on a quick like me weird. I bet it's listed. Girl makes you
- 30:07trouble. Immitions girls when you're trying, you'll know trouble. Oh yeah,
- 30:18and the love. But this is a good song. It wasn't bad because
- 30:33she transitioned it back into us. It's a national anthem by the end,
- 30:34and the crowd is applause. Yeah. But in the meantime he's got you
- 30:37know, I think you control me. He ain't being realistic, It's like,
- 30:40that's good lyrics. Buck's incredibly embarrassed by this, though, and he's
- 30:45now off his game as though she's just she's ruined his ability to play baseball.
- 30:48The crowd now immediately turn on him. Now he was a town hero,
- 30:52plays one bad game, they'll turn him immediately, throw batteries at him
- 30:55and whatnot. And then we're getting two sidehel moments in this episode. He's
- 30:59the first one, so he does something of what happens. But anyway,
- 31:03someone gets knocked out and it's side my fiance and I'm like, what is
- 31:07why is it always sail? Why who voices the siege mail? Again?
- 31:12That's Dan? I'm pretty sure, Yeah, it's Dann. Okay, Well,
- 31:15man, Dan like, let me, let me just exercise a different
- 31:18part of my vocal courts. I'm singing I'm all the time every episode though,
- 31:23every episode, every time. That's when, by the way, I
- 31:26think buck, let's go out of the bat after he sweeps right in the
- 31:29back something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's funny. I was thinking
- 31:33about this the other day. There was a term in baseball and I think
- 31:36maybe I think it was widespread or maybe just peanuts used in the cartoonstraum,
- 31:40but they used to refer to someone who was having a bad run as the
- 31:42goat. You know, you're just a goat. And now let's just completely
- 31:47flip. Now, if you're the goat, you're the greatest of all time.
- 31:49Yeah, I remember that. I hate when people say goat of all
- 31:53time. It's like stands for the greatest of all times, all time.
- 31:59Because I watched it let Us Ninja Turtles film and Raphael was like, he's
- 32:01the goat of all time talking about Drake, and I was like, what
- 32:05do you mean, he's the greatest of all time, of all time.
- 32:07It's like we see ATM machine, you know, or pin number, pin
- 32:13number. Yeah, I know, why do we do it? Because we're
- 32:17not too bright anyway, We're able to come up with things like ATMs,
- 32:22but then we call them automatic elements ATM machines. We make acronyms and then
- 32:27still expand on that with the original title. Anyway, We're funny breed,
- 32:30aren't we. But duff Man here is ordered to do the kiss cam to
- 32:34distract the people, and we see Malman here with a girlfriend. I know
- 32:38it looks like a mole girl. Yes, yeah, yeah, I'm hibbots
- 32:42there. We get a weird little moment here between the hibbots where they don't
- 32:45like showing public affection. But then Bart says she's a good looking woman,
- 32:50kiss her, so he kiss her, but she doesn't really want it.
- 32:52It's just it was awkward. Well, some people are just you know,
- 32:57kiss on the private business, you know, not ound a PDA. I
- 33:00guess it was able to sort of contrast Margin Homer just smooching or even PDAs
- 33:05of affection because Homie here, you know, he thinks he's an old man
- 33:08on the screen. He's like he was that old man realizes himself. But
- 33:10then Margin Hommer kiss and this is where buckets the idea these guys are in
- 33:14love. I'm going to look up where they live and go and seek marriage
- 33:16advice from these randoms in the stance, And then we also another random scene
- 33:22for Lenny and Car talking about Jill and Kelly who died and ons of prostitute.
- 33:27I was like, Lenny and Carl, it's like they have no idea
- 33:29what to do with these guys anymore. It's just they are in some of
- 33:30the strangest scenes. Now, aren't they just a delivery service for weird one
- 33:37liners. Yeah, they can't sort of fit in anywhere else that they like.
- 33:40Lenny loves Carl, but Carl hates Lenny, and it's just it's a
- 33:44weird dynamic they've got going on now. Because it's so bizarre. Let me
- 33:46ask you, though, if you were on the kiss cam, would you
- 33:49would you give Nicola a smooche? I imagine of course would Why wouldn't you?
- 33:52Yeah? But I don't know. I mean, well, of course
- 33:54it kids lew it because it's one of the best things to do in life.
- 33:58But I don't know. I just feel a little don't know. You're
- 34:00asking too much of me, You're asking me to perform under pressure. Gets
- 34:06a case from a woman your love. But Homer arrives home from the game.
- 34:10I was bit confused. It's like, at first I thought he must
- 34:14have arrived from a different game, But why did he They went to the
- 34:16game together, but then margays at home and Homer arrives home from the game
- 34:21later on, like did they not go to the game together? It was
- 34:23bizarre because he's like, because it's the same day as Buck, because Buck,
- 34:29like, she's like, oh my god, you're the guy from the
- 34:30game today. So it's like they were talking about the same game. I
- 34:32guess Homer stayed longer. Does he arrive at home or he has he just
- 34:36gone out of the car to get that phone finger or something. I don't
- 34:39know, because he's on his year and he gets home, he's like,
- 34:42oh my god, what a great day? Aren't Maybe who knows, but
- 34:44he's just yeah, maybe he didn't just come home. Maybe I just assumed
- 34:46he'd just come home. But he talks about how you know, you get
- 34:50to pee a trough trough and he wants a trough. Now. I mean,
- 34:55we'll just we'll just move on. I don't want to go there.
- 34:58But then you you wanted to vouch for home, you aren't you? I
- 35:01did, Yeah, But he drinks the the ice t by stick in the
- 35:07big foam finger in March just drink. Kind of a dick move there.
- 35:10Then Buck Mitchell arrives at the door. March doesn't recognize him in his costume,
- 35:15which I thought was kind of funny because that's how some people who don't
- 35:16follow sports see it. It's like that, it's people just dressed up in
- 35:20costumes and you pay me, you go watching kick a ball around. You
- 35:22know, I remember back at my pop culture days, a lot of people
- 35:27there who were very anti sport because they couldn't play it themselves. So of
- 35:30course it's that it was a devil they would call sports ball. You know,
- 35:36I don't follow that sports ball, Like it's like, how dare you?
- 35:38Like like I was bad for following football, And I'm like, hey,
- 35:42dude, you you enjoy painting little action figures like you do what you
- 35:46do? You and I do. Mean, just because you've never learned how
- 35:50to kick a ball doesn't mean it's a bad thing for other people to enjoy
- 35:52watching it. Mitchell, the baseball playing me, I barely recognize you without
- 36:00crystalline, you know, ma'am. I couldn't help seeing you two exchange in
- 36:04marital kisses tonight. Yes, yes, the game you played so horribly at
- 36:08well, Unfortunately my marriage ain'ts a good Oh. I never heard anything about
- 36:15it on the gossip shows or the black Sphere or am I supermarket checkout magazine.
- 36:21I was wondering if you and the mister could give us some marriage counseling.
- 36:23You know, in return, I can give you season tickets, season
- 36:27tickets, I could entertain business clients. I might even land a Henderson the
- 36:30couch, yeah, Holmer and can see you in the kitchen. Sure,
- 36:36it means she wants to talk in private. It's probably about you and I
- 36:40haven't had a really awkward line here where he's like, we've had more hotship
- 36:44than the Jews and Charlie band I was like, I don't know, it's
- 36:47a bit sort of on the nose that one. And they start squeezing each
- 36:52other, and then Buck says that he wants that, and then motivandomly arrives
- 36:58and he gets disappointed that Buck doesn't remember him. Become every commercial and Marge
- 37:01begins her margin home to begin the first session. Homo arrives late. Of
- 37:06course, he rives with his counseling equipment. I was disappointed here he puts
- 37:09his jacket on. I feel like it should have been the jacket from Secrets
- 37:13of a Successful Marriage. That would have been a great callback, you know,
- 37:15the one where he ruins two perfectly good jackets, Know that one that
- 37:21would have been an awesome callback, But it was the wrong color jacket.
- 37:23Yeah, he's got to slip on the card again, and said, which
- 37:25you it does feel very therapist. He has the certificate that was leases for
- 37:31something like a spelling B or something. He's crossed written fourth grade spelling champ
- 37:35or something. Yep. Yeah, And then Homer says, here, no
- 37:37one's right or wrong till I say so. And Buck Mitchell he explains that
- 37:42he's just old fashioned and he expected her to just give up her career to
- 37:44focus on his small town you know, baseball career. Quite funny, Tabitha.
- 37:49She doesn't want to waste her time anymore on him. They're clearly not
- 37:52made for each other, these two at all, are they not? Really?
- 37:55No? No, I mean it's funny. I mean you will see
- 37:59the occasional matchup of sporting people and show business people, not many of them
- 38:07last all that long. Really, I mean you think there's sort of complimentary
- 38:12careers, you know, working odd hours, you're on the road a whole
- 38:15lot, and all that kind of stuff. Well, maybe that's in maybe
- 38:17that's why they never work out. But well, a lot of Hollywood,
- 38:21a lot of Hollywood relationships are just mere public relations like campaigns at just don't
- 38:29don't, don't dispel my dream. Let's let's just take a photo of us
- 38:32holding hands down the street. The tabloids can run wild with it and we'll
- 38:35be all the news for the next month. Very good point. Who's a
- 38:40celebrity that you would love to have a pr stunt relationship with? Oh gosh,
- 38:45like you know, it means absolutely nothing because you're actually going to do
- 38:49anything with them. It's just people are going to create that idea of their
- 38:52mind you're once with this person. But of course for me it's true bearable.
- 38:55Well, if I was, if I was maybe ten to fifteen years
- 39:00younger, probably Emma Stone Everston. You love em A Stone, don't yea.
- 39:05I think she's adorable. Yeah, what has she been anything recently?
- 39:08What was she in the Whale? No? She wasn't in the whale,
- 39:10was she? No? No? That was the girl from stranger things who
- 39:15looked like the younger version of Emma Stone. Yeah, that's right, Yes,
- 39:19what what has what's the last thing Emmastone's been in that was like a
- 39:21big film? Goy, She was in a movie called The Favorite that I
- 39:27think she got. I don't know if she got an Academy Award for that,
- 39:30but I think she took some time off because she got married and I
- 39:34think she's had a kid. Okay, so, and she's probably well off
- 39:37enough that she can, like I can take some time off and get married
- 39:40and have a kid. But Buck doesn't want Tabitha dancing anymore. He explained,
- 39:45he just wanted to show for lady parts. Homer writes down lady parts
- 39:47equals Boomed asked that water, and then Homer asked Buck, who signed a
- 39:52bunch of baseballs for Bart? He has a whole bag for Lisa and Bart
- 39:55then playing ted the ball randomly at school, and just so we can get
- 39:59the gag of you know, margin Homer like they don't get along, they
- 40:01fight all the time. Just listen now and you hear Homer say monkey can
- 40:06mow our lawn. And that was it. It's like, by the way,
- 40:09was anyone else at that at that school. I seem like then they
- 40:13gonna hang out school when the school was closed. It was weird. It
- 40:15wasn't their It seems like a deserted Saturday kind of school. It did.
- 40:19Yeah, we're at Buck's house now, and March She's must have had a
- 40:22great view of the riots, and Homer says he stole a rack of coats.
- 40:25This is where we get the first little inkling that Tabitha enjoys home as
- 40:29company. And at not any point do you feel like she's liking home or
- 40:34or leading him along to make Buck jealous, because it just seems that she
- 40:38just enjoys home as company. Yeah, I means she's not sort of being
- 40:43overly flirtatious or anything that was just like, oh you're funny or you're sweet
- 40:45or something like that. Yeah, yeah, it does seem genuinely complimentary,
- 40:49as opposed to we'll use this big bufferon to get this other big bufferon jealous.
- 40:53March says you just need to start making time for each other and suggests
- 40:58that you take the same limo to them towards It's true though, like Nicola
- 41:01and I realized this about I don't know, two months ago that we just
- 41:05weren't making enough time for just us. And that's what happens when you have
- 41:07kids, man, it's just your whole life is just work, kids,
- 41:09work, kids, work, kids, and we weren't allowing any time for
- 41:13ourselves. And like every week now we make sure we have a day or
- 41:15an evening where it's just us. You know, where we go do whether
- 41:19we you know, we go go see a movie, go for dinner,
- 41:21whatever, and we are all the better for it. So any relationship advice
- 41:24from Dando know I am by no means the king of relationships, but make
- 41:30time for yourself, not just as a couple, but for yourself as well.
- 41:32That's one thing I learned in England was that I was getting very stressed
- 41:36out leading I think we're doing so much work in the lead up to the
- 41:38holiday because to get so much in the can and I was getting stressed out,
- 41:43niggaly and overworked. And I now allow myself like today, this morning,
- 41:46I wouldn't now to hit a golf right just that hour or two to
- 41:51myself for something that I want to do makes the world of difference. And
- 41:53I'm sure you're the same. You always make time for yourself, but if
- 41:57you're out there and you've got kids and you feel like the world's just caving
- 42:00in on you. Just set aside an hour or two a week where you
- 42:02can do something that you want to do guilt free. Whether it means you're
- 42:06gonna leave the partner at home with the kids or whatever, just do it.
- 42:07You'll be all the better for it. Self care people, it's a
- 42:12legitimate thing, don't You don't have to be selfish with it. But just
- 42:15you know what I'm saying, Yeah, Dan, it was right, said,
- 42:16let's set us out a little time for yourself, recharge the battery,
- 42:20refill the tank. And they do bring up here compromises the key, Like
- 42:23I always say, compromises the key. I always say that let's compromise and
- 42:30say nobody said it, but it's true. Though, what do you think
- 42:35you compromised with Louise? What's one thing that you compromise for me? I
- 42:39mean, the compromise for me is and it's not a bad thing for me
- 42:44though. It's like, since I've been with Nicola, all of my like
- 42:46annual leaf holidays were spent going to England to visit her family. Nicol compromised
- 42:52her entire life for me, So, hey, who won that bargain?
- 42:54Who won that deal with me? You know what I mean? But do
- 42:57you have anything for you? Like, do you think you compromise anything with
- 43:00the wise? I don't know compromise of the right word for it, but
- 43:05I mean, you know, I will generally spend more time at lose place
- 43:09than she will, hear, because you know, the kids are there,
- 43:14and you know there's a little dog that can be sort of well, I
- 43:16mean, she could bring it over here, but will probably destroy my cat
- 43:21and stands. It's not really a compromise. It's more like a win for
- 43:27guy. Look up. I'm sure there are a bunch of sort of little
- 43:34compromises or even just maybe adjustments is a better a better term in my mind
- 43:40for it. But you wear pants three days of the week, now,
- 43:44that's true. Yeah, I do have to, you know, wash myself
- 43:46a little more frequently, which it's a sacrifice you've got to make. It's
- 43:51so annoying though, sharing on the daily forget about it. But Buck is
- 43:55now playing very good again. He's back on track because his marriage is back
- 44:00on track. Like America's credibility on the world stage, that ball is gone.
- 44:05As he hits the home run and they s I love this line here
- 44:07from Brockman. Due to him playing better, no one considering an early retirement.
- 44:14They're now focusing on steroid abuse. There's always a negative take when when
- 44:20if an athlete's playing bad, they're terrible. They're playing good. There's a
- 44:22reason for it. It's got it's gonna be a reason. It can't just
- 44:24be good at the man. Clickbait with AFL media has become ridiculous now,
- 44:32to the point where I just can't look at it anymore. It's like,
- 44:36you know four things that are guaranteed to happen in tonight's game, and I'm
- 44:38like, you click on it and it's like this player is going to kick
- 44:40two goals. I'm like, well, you fucking hope, so that's his
- 44:44job. I love them. I clicked on this what happened. I love
- 44:51the guarantee, though if none of the student happened, you'd be able to
- 44:55sort of like charge the newsroom tap guarantee isn't worth the computer and print and
- 45:01what's going on. It's like Joe Joel Salwood is going to get twelve possessions
- 45:05tonight, and I'm like, you would assume someone. But now it's the
- 45:10other tab of this concert. I think it was at the coliseum, and
- 45:15he says he had the first ten rows will get horny, and she talks.
- 45:16She sings her song Sexy Marriage Land, so her marriage is happy again.
- 45:20She's all happy and excited about everything, and but has a sudden urge.
- 45:22You give her a five dollar bill, which I thought was very funny
- 45:25home and then goes to see her in her dressing room. I just really
- 45:28enjoyed this whole dressing room scene. I thought it was really funny. There's
- 45:30lots of moments here that I enjoyed. So she offers him to stay around,
- 45:34or you're so hot if he I'd seen himfore I met my wife.
- 45:36She realizes he's talking about the chicken. Don't tell the hamburger I've got in
- 45:38the car. And then she asked for the neck rub, and she's overdoing
- 45:42it. The whole of the moaning and things like that. Buck over here's
- 45:45the mooning. They guided Bob protection and it was the bid high hard chicken.
- 45:52Buck punches him up, so he's not going to be doing any more
- 45:54counselings. These cancelations require twenty four hours notice. Now in k BBL,
- 46:00Joe Squawk show at Luke Garrick Jock Squawk, Yes was it? Who was
- 46:05it? Sorry? I thought he said Joe Joe Squawk, Jock Squawk,
- 46:08Jock Squad. I wrote Joe Square, Yeah, Jock Squawk. Sorry.
- 46:12So Luke Garry apparently a selfish baby who deserved to die? What what I
- 46:17mean? Luke Gary was a baseballer who tragically suffered from the disease ALS,
- 46:27which was then sort of rebranded Luke Garry's Disease. Yeah, I was meant
- 46:32to just paint this guy's an absolutely more on is that this time? I
- 46:35think it's Yeah, it's like, oh, this is just inflammatory kind of
- 46:39pre Joe Roke sh Yeah more than cause this is actually quite good as well,
- 46:45my cause. Asking why Buck's bad again, he blames her in Marge's
- 46:47counseling. Then he asked, if you want a T shirt, it doesn't
- 46:51need in your writing over need to be clean, not about that bumper stick
- 46:54a week if you're holding in his turnier, but explains Homer that he's being
- 47:00beaten up because of what his counseling has done to Buck's career, and Homie
- 47:04says he was beating up at work as well, and they put a word
- 47:06in the back of his head. Now we didn't see the word, did
- 47:07we or did I miss it? No, we did not. We can
- 47:10only assume that it is one of the worst words. Yeah. Marge says
- 47:15that she's out of the canceling business now and and Hemma wants her to come
- 47:19with it. He says, Oh, I'm gonna go down there and fix
- 47:21their problems, and he expects Marge to come with and she won't because crossed
- 47:23arms means no. He tries to uncross her arms. It's not going to
- 47:25happen in him with a crowbar, will not She want to uncross her arms.
- 47:29Tamothan then comes by to see Marge much as she was, just thinking
- 47:32sad thoughts about her, and she says that she's going to leave Buck.
- 47:36Marge just cannot have this. She can't handle the concept of divorce, can
- 47:39she. Marge? No, No, you've got to. You gotta put
- 47:44put all those feelings down. You got to. You gotta power through you,
- 47:46whether you're unhappy or not. Because she's like, it's almost like because
- 47:50she has done it, she expects everyone else to do it as well.
- 47:52Yeah, big believer in the status quarreo, much like the creators of The
- 47:57Simpsons. Yeah, but she says, you know, it must have been
- 48:00a reason why you liked Buck in the first place. And she explains that
- 48:01it's because he was the first guy that didn't like her just for her body.
- 48:05And she sees a dirty light pole and she starts dancing and cleaning it,
- 48:07and Bart says, cancel all my appointments. So here comes Buck Mitchell
- 48:14in a spot every kid dreams of, where sacrifice fly could lead his minor
- 48:20league team to a wild card spot. And there's a duff Flamp with her
- 48:30special message from Tabitha. Top Buck said, zeppelins a whole lot of love.
- 48:39It's working. Buck's playing my fake message. And you said it would
- 48:44never work. No, I said, duf Man. We'll do what you
- 48:45want. Stop kicking and punching, duff Man. He then hits the ball
- 48:51into the blimp, which causes the blimp to pop. Homa dives out of
- 48:53way. I'm a nice saucy double on tunder line. I'm whacking this for
- 48:58you baby. Oh yes, I didn't pick up on that one. Yeah,
- 49:00So Homer dives out of the blimp. House that's going down again,
- 49:04so he falls on a woman and Sideshow Mel, my sister's friend. I'm
- 49:07like Jesus Christ, there's so many people in Springfield, why do you keep
- 49:15picking this guy? It's always like they're taught to me twenty years ago.
- 49:17They knew I was going to do this podcast we own. We can only
- 49:22hope that in season eighteen less Sideshow Mel. Yes, I almost enjoy it
- 49:28now, how how silly it is. But yet one of them, I
- 49:31think one of us is. It might of been Bucks saying it's the worst
- 49:34blimp crash ever too soon, and Buck looks around and realizes that it was
- 49:39actually Homer. But Marge interrupts and says, don't beat up Homer. It's
- 49:44not his fault. You know, he's actually was doing it for the right
- 49:46reasons. And then we find it there's three duff Man working. Don't tell
- 49:51the children's disillusioning whatever. But Marge says it it's like it's like Santa and
- 49:54Santa's for him. Yeah, well, Santa and Santa's assistance his assistance.
- 50:00Yes, Santa's a helper who comes and helps out at the malls when Santa
- 50:05can't get there. But Marge says that marriage is great when you've got someone
- 50:07that you know that you love and you're showing it with Tabitha says, I'll
- 50:10take you back if you can guess the attendance, and he she tells about
- 50:15see as in keeping together, so she's clearly an idiot. And Buck says
- 50:19he's going to be going the extra innings. His marriage is going to go
- 50:22the extra innings, and Homer says, no more baseball analogies and stick at
- 50:24him. And then who's this Tito guy? That was lost on me at
- 50:29the end there? They mentioned him earlier. I think he was like the
- 50:32either the uncle or the nephew of the famous wolf boy of Warriors or something
- 50:36like what is this? But either way, it's a weird way to close
- 50:39out the episode with the fact that is his aunt has been or his mother
- 50:43has been kicked up by banditson what as I've written down here, weird way
- 50:49to end it. Yeah, and it's a bit of yeah, it's a
- 50:53not a not a a nice button on the episode. But also and then
- 50:59we that's it, that's the wrap up of the episode. But then we
- 51:01get to the credits and there's something that disappointed me, something quite a bit
- 51:07Stacy Keach is reappearing as a guest star on this orders Duff meant to put
- 51:12the kiss came on? Yet, are you playing Howard Duff the seventh I
- 51:15believe or something like that. They misspell Stacy Keach, you ship, there's
- 51:22no e in in Stacy in, at least in Stacy Keacher's name. So
- 51:27I'm like, it's a little disrespectful to a hello guest star. You know,
- 51:32as we said, it's the end of the season. They just want
- 51:35to get out the door and enjoy the summer time. That is right,
- 51:37Yes, I thought the better way to end this episode would have been panting
- 51:40up and seeing margin Hobert kissing on the kiss can, right, that would
- 51:45have been a nice close out. Yeah, reinforce the romance of their of
- 51:51their tumultuous relationship. But all in all, I enjoyed this episode for what
- 51:55it was. You know, for a season seventeen look for the standards set
- 51:59by season teen, I thought this was definitely above the average. I think,
- 52:01so, yeah, look, a few a few niggles, a few
- 52:06floors here and there, but otherwise, no, I've got a few good
- 52:08laughs out of it. And he said, very good performance by Mandy Moore,
- 52:12what do we learn, Palmer? So, what'd you learn from the
- 52:14episode? Mister Davis. Oh, well, let if you think you can
- 52:17control Tabitha Vicks, well you just ain't being realistic. I learned that you've
- 52:22always been protection when handling another woman's breast chicken from knee forward. Your name
- 52:30shall be all right, mister Davis. It is now time for the finale
- 52:34of season seventeen, Guy Davis's new Name Championship. The current lead the board
- 52:37stands at this in first position Luke McKay on eighteen points. He has won
- 52:42it. He cannot be defeated. Second position we have Kyle muldoon and Heath
- 52:45Apple beyond twelve and his first position we have Adam Woolhouse and David Mott on
- 52:49ten points. Take it away, so okay. Then one point goes to
- 52:54spring Field of Dream Not bad. That is Adam Willhouse, which puts him
- 53:00outright. Third, well done, Adam nice one Adam two points to Homer
- 53:06and Marge go swinging. Oh that one is Glenn Gomez, Adams. I
- 53:12think that's I think that's Gomez's first points on the Leander board this season.
- 53:15Glenn Glenn Gomez one on two points one on snugging Justin jan he can enter
- 53:21the wild card draw next week's next week's draw and three points four Nookie of
- 53:27the Year. Well that's a good title. That is. Justin Williams puts
- 53:30him up onto seven points now in believe six or seventh position, which means
- 53:36that we have a tie for second position. So no one got any points
- 53:38there, so first position. Luke McKay obviously outright on eighteen points. Kyle
- 53:43muldoon heat, that will be well done. You both came in at second
- 53:45at twelve points, and Adam Ballhouse came outright third on eleven points. So
- 53:51thank you guys once again for contributing to the Guy Davis New Name Championship.
- 53:54We will have a prize draw next week, a wild card draw everyone who
- 53:58got points who didn't win, and we'll see who wins that prize as well.
- 54:00But for now, mister Davis, it is time for some male bad
- 54:04questions. Debil Debil is here, all right. First question, he comes
- 54:09from our man Andrew JP. He says, of course, who is your
- 54:13favorite actor slash singer, someone with legitimate careers and both his is Jack Black.
- 54:16He loves Tenacious d and he enjoys Black's more serious roles as well.
- 54:21I think for me, I mean, I know he did this slap obviously,
- 54:23but Will Smith he's up there for me. Oh yeah, as an
- 54:27actor slash singer. Mark Wahlberg maybe yeah. I mean I think if you're
- 54:31talking about Mark Will a lot of people don't realize you know, about the
- 54:35Funky Bunch days. I mean, if you're sort of call in Marky Mark,
- 54:37you know, people are what do you mean by that? What are
- 54:40you giving him that dumb nickname? Well? I didn't know that until I
- 54:43was I looked it up. Yeah, because I was too young for it.
- 54:45Yeah, and it wasn't like that. It wasn't like their music or
- 54:49did they sing Good Vibrations? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, so I knew
- 54:52this. I knew the song, but I didn't know who sung it.
- 54:54Yeah, yeah, Donnie was New Kids on the Block, but Mark it
- 54:58was Markie Mark and the Funky So yeah, when they what do you mean
- 55:01Marky Mark that you put on good Vibrations? Said? Oh my god,
- 55:04what a bang it really is. I mean, I don't know if I
- 55:10mentioned it really, but I think Jennifer Lopez perhaps, yeah. I mean
- 55:14I'm a big admirer of Julie. I mean, Julie made Manhattan was very
- 55:22popular. Made in Manhattan's a really good romantic comedy I have. I have
- 55:27plenty of time for it. Is that sort of on the same level as
- 55:30like how to Lose a Guy in Ten Days? Or is it better than
- 55:31that? I would say it's better, But you know, I'm often surprised
- 55:35by I mean, it's only natural that, you know, we reached a
- 55:38stage in the Staleis cycle. Twenty years have gone and people are sounding and
- 55:42go, you know, it's a really good romantic comedy, is how to
- 55:44Lose a Guy in ten Days? I'm like, I was around it when
- 55:46I saw that another was garbage I've done. It's very good. I enjoy
- 55:50it for what it is. I don't enjoy it for what it is.
- 55:55I don't know what more to say about that. But I think Jake,
- 55:59I think j Loo was come up with some pretty good songs. I think
- 56:01she's answer, oh yeah, because she was great in in Mask, very
- 56:07good Mask, very good in Moonstruck. Yeah yeah, and you will be
- 56:15Coco pass Ice cubi Ice Tea as well. Oh yeah, gosh. There's
- 56:21a lot, a lot of acting career, right, my daughter, Yeah,
- 56:23but she was a terrible actor. Okay, it's ice Cube is the
- 56:29voice of the main villain in the new DJ Turtles film. You were saying,
- 56:32yeah, I mean I might have to pick it up because I actually,
- 56:36no, you weren't saying that. My friend Anthony I was speaking to
- 56:37yesterday, was trying to give me because I've never I don't think i've ever
- 56:42seen a teenage been into Turtles. But we're not even the original room from
- 56:45like this is it's complete, it's complete reboot. Yeah yeah, but this
- 56:47one's animated, right, the new one Yeah yeah, yeah, and it's
- 56:51got like apparently a soundtrack full of like nineties hip hop bangers and all this
- 56:53kind of stuff like that. This soundtrack is awesome. Yeah, and and
- 57:01yeah apparently Cube, you know, I was just playing all sort of playing
- 57:06a bit of a gangster around. So I'm looking forward to it. We
- 57:08come to you with breaking news. The Lovely Louise managed to secure tickets to
- 57:12a Day on the Green, So we're going to go see the Brothers next
- 57:15year. Oh yeah, I'm very excited for you. Have a birthday to
- 57:21you so indeed, yeah, can your birthday to you? I was just
- 57:28going to say that I took out to see the Ninja Turtles film in the
- 57:30UK August like second. I think we Breton saw it right because they've got
- 57:35a cinema called the Kinema starts with K so k I n E m A
- 57:38in wood All Spa where Nicholas family are from, just around the corner from
- 57:42wood A Spa they live. And it was just really old school cinema,
- 57:44said, you're a photo of it's old school's got an organ. They paused
- 57:47a movie halfway and this guy plays an organ that comes out of the floor,
- 57:50and shit like it's just it's an old school cinema. You mean like
- 57:52pee wee Hermann playing playing with the organ and the cinema that's great. Pretty
- 57:54much. Yeah, it was awesome. And then and then we got to
- 57:59a Australia and it's like the Digitals film comes out September seventh, and I
- 58:02was like, what huh, I already stopt the center in the UK.
- 58:07Whence last time a film came out six weeks before Australia in the UK,
- 58:10like a big film like this. I was so surprised. Well, I
- 58:15think we're so used to like day and date you know ess is all over
- 58:17the world. Now it's like yeah, I mean it was always a bit
- 58:22of a thrill when you were into another country. It was like, oh,
- 58:23I'm seeing this, you know, months before anyone else. You go
- 58:27home and you got bragging rides. I felt I felt like I was a
- 58:30kid again, where I was like, I've got to put the copy of
- 58:31this film that hasn't come out the movies yet. Like that's what it felt
- 58:34like. I got back to a sho was like, well, I've already
- 58:36seen it at the movies. You guys are really going to enjoy Gremlin's so
- 58:45like you go to the premier just spoiling the film the whole time. So
- 58:50we took Allie. Wanted to see it again, right, So I took
- 58:52Alliott to see it, and like we both enjoyed it and then we I
- 58:57forgot what happened in it for most of it, right, And then we
- 58:59go to the film at the kid Cinema here, and he wanted to invite
- 59:01granddad as well, So my dad and my mum came with Nikola and we're
- 59:05watching it and I'm getting this back to ice Cube. As one point,
- 59:07ice Cube's playing super Fly. This villain right, he's like a humanoid fly
- 59:13and he's like, Dad, pisses me off, and he can just feel
- 59:15every parent in this kid cinema go like, so, my job now is
- 59:22to kill all humans. They're all gonna die. And I was like,
- 59:25oh shit, maybe I shouldn't have put Elliot. I just say this movie.
- 59:30Afterwards, my dad's like, so I can't use the word kill in
- 59:34front of Elliott, but you but you can take to a film that said
- 59:36that. I was like, I forgot it said that. You know,
- 59:39I had no idea, but but at one point, that point where he
- 59:43just goes that pisses me off, you can literally feel the room just go
- 59:49children. And I would highly advise that I wouldn't take anyone younger than like
- 59:54eight to that film because it has it's got themes in there where like I
- 1:00:00don't know. Alliott actually has said a couple of times since he's like,
- 1:00:02I don't want to watch that movie anymore because when they're draining their blood.
- 1:00:06And I was like, yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have taken a
- 1:00:07five ydelts of that movie. I took him twice, but soundtrack awesome.
- 1:00:17This sort of leads into We're going to be recording an episode of Speaking of
- 1:00:22the Hill a little later on, and I'm now I'm just viewing Dando as
- 1:00:25Cotton. Yes, seriously, I've just given him from his boy up.
- 1:00:30I have traumatized him. But yeah. But next question, Harrison McClure,
- 1:00:35if you had to help out any athlete with a personal problem or delima in
- 1:00:37their lives, who would it be. Let's not worry about what the problem
- 1:00:42is. Just imagine there's an athlete that wanted to help Who do you think.
- 1:00:44I'm thinking Shane Warren when he was still with us, because that would
- 1:00:46he lives quite the life. I feel like just hanging out with Warn he
- 1:00:50would have been just fun at all times, right, Yeah, but then
- 1:00:52you'd feel like a kill joy. It was like, mate, let's go
- 1:00:57easy on the fries or lay up the sikis. It's like, how about
- 1:01:02instead of that coke, we have a coke. You're really going to upgrade
- 1:01:08that big value meal. Really, it's like the medium medium. What about
- 1:01:16you? Any any athlete? He's an athlete you just love to hang out
- 1:01:21with. None of them they don't meet me feeling adequate. Who's there's a
- 1:01:28guy recently who like an American runner who's like, now, he's the fastest
- 1:01:32man on Earth. I've been Oh, I forgotten. I've forgotten his name
- 1:01:37as well. He's an American sprinter and yeah, I don't know if you
- 1:01:44do the hundred or unlike that, but you know, they clocked his time.
- 1:01:45I was like, Wow, this guy's the fastest man on Earth.
- 1:01:47And he's like, yeah, you're damn running the fastest man on Earth.
- 1:01:50And he was being really sort of cocky, cocky about it. I wanted,
- 1:01:55you know, there's there's an old saying like be humble, but let
- 1:01:59mother, there's no it's like, so you can strike a fine balance between
- 1:02:04the two of those. We're here, Andrew Swann. If you and guy
- 1:02:07had to help each other out with a personal problem, tell them what would
- 1:02:09it be shamelessly copying Harrison's questions and just changing the word slightly. I think
- 1:02:14you and I would both help each other out with just parting with useless shit.
- 1:02:19Yeah, when when you give me yours that way, we feel like
- 1:02:23we've gotten rid of when our respective partners are saying, we've called the guys
- 1:02:30from Hoarders and you're going to be a guest on the next episode like better
