- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench. We have Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied The Bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Kine Studios.
- 0:46Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here, oh CB hour number two.
- 0:49Speaker 3: You're live from the Raising Kanes Studio. No Flynn, Jake
- 0:58Speaker 3: Elidra Tate. Flynn's landed somewhere though, because he's writing this
- 1:04Speaker 3: text messages about emails that he's getting for SEC Media Day.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And what they do is like anytime that someone's going
- 1:11Speaker 3: to be there and they're going to be available, they'll
- 1:13Speaker 3: send everyone an email, Hey, would you like to, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 3: get a time ready for this person? Whoever that person
- 1:21Speaker 3: might be. He could sit down and you know, we're
- 1:23Speaker 3: trying to figure out our schedule. And almost everyone that
- 1:25Speaker 3: Flynn gets, he's like, Hey, who the hell is this person.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say who he asked about because the
- 1:32Speaker 3: guy's a legend. I respect the guy too much. I'm
- 1:34Speaker 3: not going to throw him under the bus. But Flynn's
- 1:37Speaker 3: panicing already about having to interview people he doesn't know.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I do get why Flynn didn't know who that was.
- 1:43Speaker 4: In fairness to Flynn really though, Matt. Yeah, the people
- 1:47Speaker 4: Matt doesn't know that one's not that shocking. They're coming
- 1:51Speaker 4: from him. This guy's also not still like currently in
- 1:59Speaker 4: the he just retired.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, But all right, that was pretty tough
- 2:11Speaker 3: for Flynn last year. I gotta I gotta back my
- 2:13Speaker 3: boy up a little bit. He got the job during
- 2:17Speaker 3: LSU winning a national championship in baseball, a sport in
- 2:20Speaker 3: which he had done a deep dive into. He came
- 2:23Speaker 3: into it at the very end of the season, and
- 2:26Speaker 3: then right after that we ship him off the SEC
- 2:29Speaker 3: media days. We should. Actually, I'm sitting here and I'm
- 2:45Speaker 3: thinking about it. I'm gonna I think I'm gonna come
- 2:48Speaker 3: up with I'm gonna come up with a list of
- 2:52Speaker 3: like made up names and made up titles of who
- 2:55Speaker 3: the person is, and I'm gonna send it to Matt,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and I'm gonna format it where it's like a Monday,
- 3:01Speaker 3: I'm gonna put like four names in Tuesday, Wednesday. I'm
- 3:03Speaker 3: gonna put like different names in and they're gonna be random,
- 3:07Speaker 3: like just the most random things you've ever heard. I
- 3:09Speaker 3: need you all to back me up, not give it away.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I'm so game for Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna be like, hey, we're gonna have the guy
- 3:14Speaker 3: who made the new Rydale helmet. Like he's kind of
- 3:17Speaker 3: he's going around, he's talking about the new helmets that
- 3:19Speaker 3: he made and the new design for concussions, and he's
- 3:22Speaker 3: gonna come sit down with us.
- 3:23Speaker 4: It would be perfect. It's like a coach. I can't
- 3:26Speaker 4: wait that's asking him about helmets.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Coaches don't have another guy. The SEC is putting a
- 3:31Speaker 3: guy in charge of mental training for all SEC football players. Yeah, right,
- 3:39Speaker 3: So he's gonna sit down with us. We're gonna talk
- 3:40Speaker 3: to like some mental therapy with him as well.
- 3:43Speaker 6: You should trick him into thinking that there's actually like
- 3:45Speaker 6: a hydration person now and he needs to like try
- 3:49Speaker 6: to get in with that guy from my high.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Like or just like, hey, we're gonna have an expert
- 3:54Speaker 3: in hydration. He's gonna come on the show. The SEC
- 3:57Speaker 3: is kind of asking if anybody wanted him, and since
- 3:59Speaker 3: he knows so much about hydration, I figured our show
- 4:02Speaker 3: would be perfect for him, right, just to like almost
- 4:04Speaker 3: make him mad, like nobody knows more about hydration than
- 4:06Speaker 3: the King of Hyde.
- 4:07Speaker 5: That or he thinks he's gonna get a deal.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Done that says at the bottom of his email, should
- 4:12Speaker 3: we do like, I don't know. He gets pretty worked
- 4:16Speaker 3: up as somebody if he thinks somebody knows more about
- 4:19Speaker 3: hydration than him.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Either one a fake player would be funny. It's like
- 4:25Speaker 2: they did it to Gronk.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Remember they made up the fake Cowboys tight end and
- 4:29Speaker 4: then he was like, yeah, you should.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Make it like the most like Georgia quarterback. Yeah possible.
- 4:37Speaker 5: It was Gunner stocked him before.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Rob vander Slouth.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Something just like generic but sounds Real's.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Something Braxton, something.
- 4:50Speaker 2: That sounds like a guy.
- 4:51Speaker 3: It sounds like a Kentucky quarterback that does.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Nobody knows anything about anyway, So let's just go with
- 4:57Speaker 4: that Kentucky quarterback friendly.
- 5:00Speaker 3: We're gonna come up with a list and we're like, hey,
- 5:02Speaker 3: Matt and I'm gonna sit in the group chat and
- 5:04Speaker 3: y'all can't say anything. I'm like, hey, here's our first
- 5:06Speaker 3: three days a media day. On top of the players
- 5:09Speaker 3: that are going to be there, Yeah, they scheduled these guys,
- 5:13Speaker 3: so I want you to kind of do some research
- 5:15Speaker 3: on them. And he's not gonna be able to find anything.
- 5:17Speaker 3: He's gonna panicea.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Now, I wonder if he'll say he wasn't able to
- 5:20Speaker 4: find anything, or he'll be like, I didn't have time
- 5:21Speaker 4: to research it.
- 5:24Speaker 2: He says that a lot, but.
- 5:26Speaker 3: He's also going to be incredibly nervous. I love this.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I love it. And he doesn't get into like eleven
- 5:37Speaker 3: pm on Sunday.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Night, he's gonna be on island time.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that man is not gonna be trying to like
- 5:43Speaker 3: research some fake name on Saint Bart's not at all.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So like that morning, be like, hey, did you get
- 5:48Speaker 3: a chance to look at Vandersleuth's profile?
- 5:53Speaker 6: Bro He's been oh, yeah, yeah, I looked at it.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I looked at it. He's got bad mechanics. But he's
- 6:01Speaker 2: gonna get arm how far.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Like he's gonna go pretty far.
- 6:04Speaker 3: How far do we want to go? I will go
- 6:07Speaker 3: get somebody to sit down.
- 6:08Speaker 5: No, we need to find somebody that looks like look
- 6:13Speaker 5: and he would not know who he is.
- 6:15Speaker 3: No, he'd have no idea who JD was.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Yes, you need to go JD and be like your
- 6:20Speaker 6: name is Brock vanderslu.
- 6:21Speaker 3: He would buy into it.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, we're doing D looks like a BRONC too,
- 6:28Speaker 2: that looks.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Like that plays quarterback at Georgia, and I mean that
- 6:33Speaker 3: very nice way.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Yeah, he's got some insane quads.
- 6:37Speaker 3: He played for it. Should we Cornell and Baylor?
- 6:40Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Should we remember Baylor?
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:44Speaker 2: Cornell.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Should we do Georgia because he's gonna know Gunner Stockton?
- 6:48Speaker 3: What if you did like that? I feel like talk
- 6:51Speaker 3: about j Curtis.
- 6:52Speaker 6: I feel like Matt wouldn't know that Gunner is coming back.
- 6:55Speaker 3: He probably wouldn't, Yeah, but he would be like I
- 6:58Speaker 3: heard him, it probably does need to be.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Kentucky could work uri Missouri?
- 7:02Speaker 5: Oh he would not, never ever.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Hed He says, they're not even in the sec that works.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Funny. Does j D look like a Missouri quarterback?
- 7:10Speaker 3: Though he looks like a Kentucky Yeah? More than.
- 7:16Speaker 4: We were just talking Kenny Minschi the other day. But
- 7:18Speaker 4: does he remember that?
- 7:21Speaker 3: So?
- 7:21Speaker 2: I mean Kentucky might be the play.
- 7:24Speaker 3: All right. We're work shopping here, We're work shopping, all right.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I love this.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I'm more excited about this than media days in general.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And Busch Gardens, Busch Garden is gonna be late.
- 7:36Speaker 5: I like how CD had him.
- 7:39Speaker 6: No, he was like, no, we're gonna get the season
- 7:41Speaker 6: passed and we're gonna go every night.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I didn't. Yeah, I forgot his daughter moved down to Tampa.
- 7:45Speaker 3: So CDs CD's about to familiar all right here inside
- 7:53Speaker 3: the document, I'm gonna throw this one behind the glass.
- 7:56Speaker 3: This is something I'm just catching up with. Apparently Old
- 8:00Speaker 3: MISSUS athletic director Keith Carter, who loves a microphone, is
- 8:04Speaker 3: speaking up again.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Yeah, this was actually back on July tenth is when
- 8:08Speaker 4: the interview occurred. He spoke to the Clarion Ledger and
- 8:11Speaker 4: you know, blew through a bunch of different topics, but
- 8:14Speaker 4: it brought up Prince Will Luman Miellen and Devin Harper,
- 8:17Speaker 4: the two ole Miss transfers that are now with LSU,
- 8:20Speaker 4: and they had certain contracts with Old Miss, and he
- 8:22Speaker 4: said that a buyout has not been paid for six
- 8:24Speaker 4: months now, when that court is apparently one of the
- 8:27Speaker 4: avenues that ole Miss is considering. His direct quote is
- 8:30Speaker 4: that would be an option going and asking a court
- 8:32Speaker 4: to get that money for you. Contracts are with the players,
- 8:36Speaker 4: but LSU could pay that on the player's behalf. So
- 8:39Speaker 4: we're kind of exploring all of those options right now.
- 8:42Speaker 4: So I guess they could potentially either sue Uman, me
- 8:45Speaker 4: Ellen and Harper directly or LSU to try to get
- 8:48Speaker 4: the buyout money that they say they are owed due
- 8:51Speaker 4: to contracts that they signed before they left.
- 8:55Speaker 3: This is a very slippery slope when someone wants to
- 8:58Speaker 3: do this, Like, you have to know there's so many
- 9:01Speaker 3: different situations that are going to play out with the
- 9:04Speaker 3: portal and what it is, and if you point a finger,
- 9:07Speaker 3: there could be two more pointing back at you. It's
- 9:10Speaker 3: a very slippery slope. Am I not just saying that
- 9:12Speaker 3: to old miss, I'm saying that to anybody and everybody.
- 9:16Speaker 6: Yeah, everybody's kind of finding loopholes everywhere, and every college
- 9:22Speaker 6: football has like basically.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Become a courtroom TV.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Show, like you're on Judge Judy at all times in
- 9:31Speaker 6: college football now. So I think that definitely every every
- 9:38Speaker 6: school is doing something that's a little shady. So you're right, like,
- 9:42Speaker 6: you gotta be careful where you're pointing the finger because
- 9:45Speaker 6: those the Glasstones houses whatever.
- 9:48Speaker 4: That's that's the big for me. Like if you think
- 9:53Speaker 4: y'all know what we're talking about, it and it might
- 9:56Speaker 4: break if you think they violated the contract. Look, I'm
- 10:00Speaker 4: good with it. I Mean players sue for anything and
- 10:02Speaker 4: everything all the time. Like, there's eleven NCAA basketball players
- 10:06Speaker 4: right now sue and because they didn't qualify for the
- 10:08Speaker 4: five for five and for some reason they believe they should.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So if Almoss wants to do that, fine coming out
- 10:13Speaker 2: and saying.
- 10:13Speaker 4: This publicly to a publication as big as the clear
- 10:16Speaker 4: end ledger like cut it back to a Launder's point
- 10:19Speaker 4: is a choice.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You've already you're already.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Under the spotlight, whether you're LSU, whether you're old miss.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Coming out with this just seems a little petty to
- 10:27Speaker 4: announce this publicly, Like if you want to sue, if
- 10:30Speaker 4: you want to go to court, fine whatever, that's your choice.
- 10:32Speaker 4: But to make a big scene about it just kind
- 10:35Speaker 4: of does it make a ton of sense to me.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Well, Also, you've got to be careful doing stuff like
- 10:38Speaker 3: this publicly, because players see this recruit, see this family,
- 10:42Speaker 3: see this great point, right, wrong or indifferent, like, they
- 10:45Speaker 3: are going to have a negative reaction to this. If
- 10:48Speaker 3: you're in any way against players and their movement and
- 10:51Speaker 3: their freedom in today's college athletics, they're going to see
- 10:55Speaker 3: that as a Hey, this guy's not on board. He
- 10:58Speaker 3: is not going to play the game. And again, we
- 11:01Speaker 3: think a lot of different things about how it's all
- 11:04Speaker 3: played out. I'm not saying that's right, but I can
- 11:07Speaker 3: tell you that's how they're gonna feel.
- 11:11Speaker 4: It doesn't make a lot of sense because, like to
- 11:12Speaker 4: your point, there are people out there that believe that
- 11:15Speaker 4: college athletes should just be able to do whatever the
- 11:17Speaker 4: hell they want for whatever reason necessary.
- 11:19Speaker 2: There's people out there like that.
- 11:20Speaker 4: I'm not one of them, but yeah, I mean, I
- 11:22Speaker 4: don't see how this becomes a positive in the public
- 11:25Speaker 4: life for Old Miss.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I just I don't see it.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Man, it is going to I don't I've been to
- 11:31Speaker 3: a lot of media days. This is going to be
- 11:34Speaker 3: I think eleven or twelve, and there's always there's something. Look,
- 11:38Speaker 3: there's there's always gonna be something. There's gonna be a headline,
- 11:40Speaker 3: there's going to be something that's spicy. And for sure,
- 11:46Speaker 3: I don't know that we've ever had one that's going
- 11:49Speaker 3: to be as unpredictable maybe as this one could be,
- 11:52Speaker 3: as it could be with Ole Miss, with LSU, with
- 11:56Speaker 3: all the things surrounding that entire situation. And there's gonna
- 12:00Speaker 3: be other stuff as well from other schools. But the
- 12:03Speaker 3: fact that you know, Pete Golding was at ole Miss
- 12:07Speaker 3: when the entire staff was there. He knows them, and
- 12:09Speaker 3: then he gets the head coaching job, and then you know,
- 12:12Speaker 3: Lane's gonna have to answer a bunch of questions where
- 12:16Speaker 3: you know in the past he's answered you kind of
- 12:19Speaker 3: answer what you want to answer. In media days, you
- 12:21Speaker 3: don't get that opportunity. You're gonna be at a podium,
- 12:23Speaker 3: They're gonna ask you a ton of questions. Now, when
- 12:26Speaker 3: I got Lane in the serious XM room, we're gonna
- 12:29Speaker 3: chop it up about ball because that's what I care about. Okay,
- 12:32Speaker 3: But that's gonna be the easiest room that he's gonna
- 12:34Speaker 3: be in because everything else is gonna be about that
- 12:37Speaker 3: Pete Golding is going to be He's gonna be prodded, like, hey,
- 12:42Speaker 3: say something bad about Lane, say something bad about Lane,
- 12:44Speaker 3: say something bad about LSU, and he's gonna have to
- 12:46Speaker 3: try to be careful not to say it right now. Again,
- 12:51Speaker 3: going back to earlier conversation, I don't know him to
- 12:53Speaker 3: ever hold his tongue, so I don't know, like what's
- 12:56Speaker 3: gonna happen. We don't know what's gonna come out. And
- 12:58Speaker 3: the fact that LSU's bringing a former Ole Miss player
- 13:01Speaker 3: like TJ is gonna have to make sure that he's
- 13:04Speaker 3: ready for any question and not get too far off
- 13:06Speaker 3: his marker, which is going to be incredibly difficult. I
- 13:10Speaker 3: can't remember once got this spiciness to it that this
- 13:13Speaker 3: one's going to have.
- 13:14Speaker 4: It's exciting. Normally SEC media days suck, they're kind of pouring.
- 13:18Speaker 4: They leave the bad teams for last, and like, I
- 13:20Speaker 4: think this is gonna be great. The fact that LSU
- 13:22Speaker 4: doesn't have to go first at ten am on the
- 13:24Speaker 4: first day actually kind of.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Like, oh, I love it because it's like for us,
- 13:28Speaker 3: it's so exciting.
- 13:30Speaker 4: The rest of the week and at least I want
- 13:32Speaker 4: you have to look forward to as the week goes along.
- 13:35Speaker 4: I think it's great. Trada is gonna have the easiest
- 13:37Speaker 4: media day.
- 13:37Speaker 3: It is very very smart. It is very smart of
- 13:41Speaker 3: the SEC to put Ole miss on Wednesday and l
- 13:44Speaker 3: s U on Thursday and LSU is gonna get the
- 13:47Speaker 3: final word. They are they're gonna be the last day.
- 13:50Speaker 3: And you're right, Tradas Green is gonna have the easiest
- 13:52Speaker 3: of many of them because with is dating Lane Kivens
- 13:56Speaker 3: those questions, so it's have some spice news to it
- 14:01Speaker 3: and this you know, Keith Carter coming out, loves a microphone,
- 14:03Speaker 3: getting behind it again. That's just another layer to what's
- 14:06Speaker 3: going to be a very exciting media days. All right,
- 14:11Speaker 3: we will step away. We do have Connor o Gara
- 14:14Speaker 3: joining us in about fifteen minutes from now to continue
- 14:16Speaker 3: breaking down SEC media days. Look forward to that conversation
- 14:20Speaker 3: as always. We'll have that for you when we jump
- 14:23Speaker 3: back here on OTB.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Off the bench from the locker room to the airwaves.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Gets off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 14:44Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB. Remember, if you've been
- 14:49Speaker 3: feeling tired, your workouts aren't producing the same results. If
- 14:53Speaker 3: your energy is down, or you just don't feel like
- 14:56Speaker 3: yourself anymore, it might not be age, it might be
- 15:00Speaker 3: your hormones. Now, the team over at juve Me Medical
- 15:02Speaker 3: offers personalized HRT with the labs that we talk about
- 15:07Speaker 3: all the time. The ends, the outs. Five minutes in, right,

- 15:13Speaker 3: you get a plan together. I mean we're talking about
- 15:15Speaker 3: fifteen twenty minutes total time to get that treatment plan together.

- 15:21Speaker 3: men and women get back to feeling their best. Don't
- 15:24Speaker 3: settle for feeling good enough. Schedule a consultation today. Average
- 15:28Speaker 3: of me medical dot com. That's rejuve me medical dot com.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Did we see the Stefon Diggs. Not that stuff about
- 15:48Speaker 3: Stefan Diggs. That's a whole different subject. We saw that,
- 15:52Speaker 3: We talked about that in the group chat. No, but
- 15:54Speaker 3: he said that he is the best number two receiver
- 15:58Speaker 3: in the NFL.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Didn't see that.
- 16:01Speaker 3: It's pretty funny because one, no, you're not and there's
- 16:05Speaker 3: not like a slight day may On thousand yards last year,
- 16:08Speaker 3: but you're not only a team currently and there's guys
- 16:11Speaker 3: like you know, George Pickens, Davante Adams, t Higgins that's
- 16:17Speaker 3: pretty good, you know, Jordan Addison.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Shoot Juwan Jennings and Vikings for that point.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Third right, it is like it brings up looking at
- 16:28Speaker 3: the list of free agents still available out there, and
- 16:32Speaker 3: it's always okay, like, why is Stefan Diggs. I know
- 16:34Speaker 3: Stepan Diggs has some some stuff off the field as well,
- 16:37Speaker 3: but he did have a thousand yards and he's just
- 16:39Speaker 3: sitting out there he's not signed. There's a couple of
- 16:42Speaker 3: receivers like Keenan Allen is still out there, Deebo Samuel
- 16:46Speaker 3: is still out there. If we go over to the
- 16:48Speaker 3: edge rushers, there's still guys out there in that list.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Joey Bosa is still out there. Von Miller, who had
- 16:53Speaker 3: nine sacks last year, is out there. Cal Van Noy,
- 16:57Speaker 3: Jadeveon Clowney is still out there. It's a it's a
- 17:00Speaker 3: surprising free agent market in the NFL. And one of
- 17:05Speaker 3: the things about going on a training camp tour that
- 17:07Speaker 3: I'm excited about is to kind of look to see
- 17:10Speaker 3: how they kind of view some of their position position groups,
- 17:12Speaker 3: because like you look at a team like the Chicago Bears,
- 17:15Speaker 3: like I feel like the Bears are an edge rusher
- 17:17Speaker 3: away from maybe making it like a run all the
- 17:20Speaker 3: way and maybe playing for something of note, like a
- 17:23Speaker 3: Lombardi Trophy. Why why are you, like, why are you
- 17:27Speaker 3: not signing von Miller? Why are you not signing Joey Bosa.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I'm not saying that they're anywhere close to where they
- 17:34Speaker 3: were at their peak, but if you've got money to
- 17:37Speaker 3: spend and there's available free agents out there like that,
- 17:42Speaker 3: why would you not try to go bring them in
- 17:44Speaker 3: if they're the missing piece? Because you look at what
- 17:46Speaker 3: these teams currently have, and this falls into a conversation
- 17:49Speaker 3: for a lot of different teams across a lot of
- 17:52Speaker 3: different positions. We talked about it yesterday with the New
- 17:55Speaker 3: Orleans Saints with Nick Underhill. You probably need another defensive
- 17:59Speaker 3: back now, you're not going to go out there. Look,
- 18:02Speaker 3: Marshaun Lattimore, he said that did not end great in
- 18:05Speaker 3: New Orleans. Okay, I get that, but Tredavious White, Jimmy Ward,
- 18:14Speaker 3: Trayvon Diggs just trying to throw like some of the
- 18:18Speaker 3: names out there. Russell Douglas was available until the other
- 18:20Speaker 3: day he signed with the Commanders. So it's always for me,
- 18:24Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, well, either you believe more in the
- 18:28Speaker 3: young players that we don't know enough about apparently, or
- 18:33Speaker 3: you're just trying to use your guys, the guys that
- 18:36Speaker 3: you drafted, and you're trying to be you know, not
- 18:38Speaker 3: trying to be kind of are you're being stubborn about it.
- 18:40Speaker 3: You're being hard headed about it because there's a list
- 18:43Speaker 3: of free agents this year that not only are they names,
- 18:47Speaker 3: but again like Von Miller had nine sacks last year,
- 18:49Speaker 3: Stefan Diggs had a thousand yards receiving last year. They're
- 18:53Speaker 3: still productive players. It's a little bit surprising that they're
- 18:56Speaker 3: still all out there and available.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it really is. And I mean back to the
- 19:00Speaker 4: original point. No, I mean he's not the best number two.
- 19:03Speaker 4: We just named three or four out there. But you
- 19:06Speaker 4: look at some of these teams. Jack, we talked about
- 19:08Speaker 4: this the other day. Why the hell of the Miami
- 19:11Speaker 4: Dolphins not calling Steffan Dicks?
- 19:14Speaker 2: He would be their number one?
- 19:16Speaker 3: I think for I think for the Dolphins it falls
- 19:19Speaker 3: into that category of how hard do we really want
- 19:22Speaker 3: to try to win seven games?
- 19:23Speaker 2: I mean, I get it.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I would say, why in the world have the Kansas
- 19:28Speaker 3: City Chiefs not called Stefan Diggs. Have you seen their
- 19:31Speaker 3: receiver list? It's it's it's bad.
- 19:33Speaker 2: For she Rice, which whoever knows.
- 19:35Speaker 3: To be suspended for something eight games at least.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Not get any younger. I mean outside of that, what
- 19:42Speaker 2: do you have?
- 19:43Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, you brought in Kenneth Walker, great, you
- 19:47Speaker 4: didn't bring money any pass catchers?
- 19:49Speaker 3: No, and Xavier Worthy is not lived up to being
- 19:53Speaker 3: a top pick. Jalen Royals was really bad last year's
- 19:59Speaker 3: ro You don't have a ton there.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Well, you don't have any big weapons. I mean again
- 20:05Speaker 4: or she Rice has some size, but what's that going
- 20:07Speaker 4: to look like? I mean, bring in a like Keenan
- 20:11Speaker 4: Allen would be perfect for them. He could go in there,
- 20:12Speaker 4: he could live in the slot. He could be a
- 20:14Speaker 4: checkdown option for for Mahomes, like even a even a
- 20:19Speaker 4: Digs or Deebo Samuel. They could give you something in
- 20:22Speaker 4: that offense that's better than what they have now.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And I'm not sure Mahomes is going to start the season.
- 20:26Speaker 4: You could say, oh, Mahomes could do it on his own,
- 20:29Speaker 4: con justin fields because he didn't with the jetslas year.
- 20:32Speaker 3: All Right, I'm gonna give you all some homework while
- 20:34Speaker 3: we're talking with Connor o'garet coming up here in about
- 20:37Speaker 3: five minutes. All Right, the homework is gonna because you
- 20:40Speaker 3: mentioned Patrick Mahomes and so many times in the past
- 20:43Speaker 3: he's been able to whoever's out there, elevate them and
- 20:46Speaker 3: make those around him much better. And they've gone other
- 20:49Speaker 3: places when they leave Patrick and they're not the same.
- 20:52Speaker 3: He's coming off in LCL and an ACL so heading
- 20:56Speaker 3: into this twenty twenty sixth season. So not what they did,
- 21:00Speaker 3: you know five years ago, not what they're going to do.
- 21:03Speaker 3: In five years from now, but heading into this twenty
- 21:05Speaker 3: twenty sixth season. Top five quarterbacks in the NFL, just
- 21:10Speaker 3: heading into this season, so not a oh man, I
- 21:14Speaker 3: think Jackson Dart's gonna be this in three years or
- 21:17Speaker 3: Tyler Schucker whoever, and not what they did, not what
- 21:20Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers did five years ago. Just heading into this
- 21:23Speaker 3: twenty twenty sixth season. Top five quarterbacks, So we'll have
- 21:29Speaker 3: that discussion. I'm gonna have our guy Connor Ogara join us.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Looking forward to having that conversation with Connor to break
- 21:36Speaker 3: down SEC media days. And obviously there's a lot of
- 21:40Speaker 3: storylines now the main storyline is LSU and Ole Miss,
- 21:43Speaker 3: but Connor's gonna give you all the latest, all the greatest,
- 21:45Speaker 3: and we'll have that conversation with Connor O'Gara when we
- 21:48Speaker 3: come back here live inside the Raisin Kines studio.
- 21:51Speaker 8: Top to Ben.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Right, go to gcopnet dot com, gcopnet dot Com, Gulf
- 22:00Speaker 3: Coast Office Products. You're in question leader in all things
- 22:03Speaker 3: office solutions technology. Customer service. That is really one of
- 22:09Speaker 3: the things. Actually, it's the first thing when you meet
- 22:11Speaker 3: with Trey Bill He's gonna mention is the customer Service
- 22:14Speaker 3: and New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Manville Laughy at four locations
- 22:17Speaker 3: in Louisiana. But it doesn't matter which one you're dealing with.
- 22:20Speaker 3: The number you call, the person that answers is going
- 22:23Speaker 3: to be the person that helps you. It is what
- 22:24Speaker 3: they pride themselves on. They don't transfer you, they don't
- 22:28Speaker 3: send you on this wild goose chase to try to
- 22:30Speaker 3: find an answer. They are the answer and they're gonna
- 22:33Speaker 3: help you from the very get go. And they have
- 22:36Speaker 3: everything that any large national retailer is going to have.
- 22:39Speaker 3: They have every bail, every whistle, paired with that incredible
- 22:42Speaker 3: customer service. So again, four locations in Louisiana. They're always
- 22:46Speaker 3: online as well, ready to help you. That website gcopnet
- 22:51Speaker 3: dot com.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Jesus from the locker room to the airwaves gets off
- 23:01Speaker 1: the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, who've.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Been doing in my wig and my bits in my career.
- 23:23Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTV here live from the
- 23:25Speaker 3: Razor Gaines Studio. It is always our pleasure to catch
- 23:29Speaker 3: up with our next guest. It's our guy, Connor oh
- 23:31Speaker 3: Gera now the host of the og Kickoff with the
- 23:34Speaker 3: guys over at Next Round Live, Connor, what's going on, brother?
- 23:37Speaker 3: How we doing doing well? Man?
- 23:40Speaker 8: I feel like it's been a minute. I'm not used
- 23:42Speaker 8: to going this song without talking to you, but it's
- 23:45Speaker 8: to hear your voice.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I know. Ever since I made the move to the
- 23:48Speaker 3: old NFL channel, I know I miss a lot of
- 23:50Speaker 3: my college football brethren. So that's Look, that's why I'm
- 23:54Speaker 3: so excited about next week and being down in Tampa.
- 23:57Speaker 3: That's like basically kind of a home game for you.
- 24:00Speaker 8: You know, an hour and a half drive is really nice.
- 24:04Speaker 8: It's very convenient in this day and age when I
- 24:07Speaker 8: don't have to worry about air travel or anything like that,
- 24:09Speaker 8: quick little Sunday night drive from my home here in Orlando.
- 24:13Speaker 8: And I know a lot of people will be pooing
- 24:16Speaker 8: Tampa even though it's Florida and it's right on the water.
- 24:21Speaker 8: But whatever, we don't need to debate that. But it
- 24:24Speaker 8: will be nice for me to not have to make
- 24:26Speaker 8: the trip up to Hoover, up to Nashville or.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 24:29Speaker 8: I love those places. They're all well and good. But yeah, homefield,
- 24:32Speaker 8: it's gonna be really nice.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we were, you know, discussing in studio, not that
- 24:37Speaker 3: Tampa's a bad place. But we were like, you know, okay,
- 24:40Speaker 3: why Tampa? And I guess you're throwing the Gators a
- 24:43Speaker 3: bone here. Now, maybe Orlando would have been an option
- 24:47Speaker 3: as well. Maybe Jacksonville would have been an option, but
- 24:50Speaker 3: you know, Tampa, I guess a little bit. It's on
- 24:53Speaker 3: the footprint ish, but it's a little bit of a
- 24:55Speaker 3: unique choice, I think.
- 24:57Speaker 8: I think so, I mean outside of the the Aaron
- 25:00Speaker 8: Murray's of the world who have grown up in you know,
- 25:03Speaker 8: the great city of Tampa. I don't know that a
- 25:06Speaker 8: lot of people were pushing for it, but I know
- 25:08Speaker 8: they're just trying to move this around. And Sankia teased
- 25:11Speaker 8: the idea of Vegas a few years ago. I personally
- 25:14Speaker 8: wouldn't necessarily be the biggest span of that. I think
- 25:17Speaker 8: we're getting a little bit too far outside of our
- 25:19Speaker 8: geographical footprinted. We're doing something like that ultimately, though nobody
- 25:23Speaker 8: really cares except the people that are actually going to this,
- 25:26Speaker 8: which you know is us. So I guess we're just
- 25:29Speaker 8: probably talking in a vacuum right now.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Can we get one in New Orleans?
- 25:33Speaker 8: I mean, why not? Like this is this seems so
- 25:36Speaker 8: obvious to me and the fact that it hasn't happened yet.
- 25:40Speaker 8: It is kind of baffling because we've had Atlanta, we've
- 25:43Speaker 8: had Nashville, Dallas, Tampa, New Orleans feels like it's next.
- 25:47Speaker 8: I'm going to make a bold prediction and say it'll
- 25:48Speaker 8: be in New Orleans by the end of the decade.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Okay, I think more than anything, I think he's worried
- 25:54Speaker 3: that PB and CD would not make their call times
- 25:57Speaker 3: on the SEC network.
- 25:59Speaker 8: Yeah. I think that it's fair. Look, even Fine Bomb
- 26:01Speaker 8: probably would be would be tough. I think everybody would
- 26:05Speaker 8: probably have a little bit.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Too much fun.
- 26:07Speaker 8: That's honestly like that. That's probably the reason is that
- 26:11Speaker 8: there's too much to do in New Orleans and everybody
- 26:13Speaker 8: would just be hung over by Tuesday, and then you know,
- 26:17Speaker 8: the Thursday vibes would creep in forty eight hours earlier,
- 26:21Speaker 8: and I don't think people would be a fan of that.
- 26:24Speaker 3: All right, So you mentioned the Thursday vibes. It's a
- 26:26Speaker 3: great place to start here as we get into the
- 26:29Speaker 3: actual SEC media days. Because you're right, we've done this
- 26:32Speaker 3: for over a decade. We know typically about Thursday, everyone's like,
- 26:36Speaker 3: oh my god, can you please get me out of here?
- 26:39Speaker 3: Now the SEC this year, I think has done something smart.
- 26:43Speaker 3: They put not only Texas on Thursday, but they put
- 26:46Speaker 3: LSU on Thursday. Lshu's always been the leadoff hitter. It
- 26:49Speaker 3: has always been right out of the gates, here comes LSU,
- 26:52Speaker 3: and that has been how SEC Media Days has started
- 26:55Speaker 3: over the last decade. Well, now they move them to Thursday,
- 26:59Speaker 3: and LSU's to be as talked about as any team
- 27:01Speaker 3: at SEC Media Days. The old miss LSU ole MISSUS Wednesday.
- 27:05Speaker 3: LSU's Thursday. That is a really good move, I think
- 27:09Speaker 3: by the SEC because as much as by Thursday we're
- 27:12Speaker 3: like get me out of here, everybody's going to be
- 27:14Speaker 3: locked into LSU.
- 27:16Speaker 8: I would think so. And for those who are kind
- 27:18Speaker 8: of wondering, like, oh, like, what are going to be
- 27:21Speaker 8: the storylines in college football this year? That isn't the
- 27:23Speaker 8: Protect College Sports Act and expanding the playoffs and all
- 27:27Speaker 8: the boring things. And I'm just like, golly, I do
- 27:30Speaker 8: not care. Look no further than those Bayou Bengals of yours,
- 27:33Speaker 8: because my goodness, man, Lane Kiffin being there for the
- 27:37Speaker 8: first time with LSU is going to be great theater.
- 27:39Speaker 8: I do think that him bringing TJ. Dotttery is fascinating
- 27:43Speaker 8: because of the old miss element to it, and for
- 27:46Speaker 8: those that want to say, like, ah, you know what,
- 27:48Speaker 8: he's just he's a leader. No, no, no, this is
- 27:50Speaker 8: Lane Kiffen being Lane Kiffen in every possible way. He's
- 27:53Speaker 8: got a six million dollar quarterback that he left home,
- 27:55Speaker 8: and maybe he left him home because of the ankle
- 27:57Speaker 8: injury and all that stuff with the Liz Frank and
- 27:59Speaker 8: what not. But I still look at this and go,
- 28:02Speaker 8: Lane is going to be great theater no matter what.
- 28:04Speaker 8: Even if he is in his very typical boring Lane
- 28:09Speaker 8: press conference mode, which he very often is in these settings,
- 28:12Speaker 8: it's still going to be fascinating to talk about all
- 28:14Speaker 8: these different storylines and maybe just maybe that game September
- 28:18Speaker 8: nineteenth in Oxford. I think if I had a guess,
- 28:21Speaker 8: it's going to come up once or twice, I would
- 28:24Speaker 8: say so.
- 28:25Speaker 3: And we talked about like TJ. Dottary is going to
- 28:29Speaker 3: probably have it as tough as any player there, and
- 28:33Speaker 3: that's including like Archie Manning, who last year, I mean
- 28:36Speaker 3: had like a whole posse of security guards following him around. Now,
- 28:40Speaker 3: like you know, wit weeks are going to get some
- 28:42Speaker 3: of it because you know, obviously he's dating Lane Kevin's daughter,
- 28:45Speaker 3: and you know all those questions, But what's been at
- 28:47Speaker 3: media days, He's been there, he's done that. He's gonna
- 28:50Speaker 3: have great answers. And that's not the same as hey,
- 28:52Speaker 3: why'd you leave Ole miss? Why are you at LSU?
- 28:55Speaker 3: Like TJ is going to have to do some heavy
- 28:56Speaker 3: lifting as well.
- 28:58Speaker 8: Yeah, and I hope he's prepped for that because I
- 29:01Speaker 8: think you're right. I think he's going to have a
- 29:03Speaker 8: ton of people there And for everybody that kind of
- 29:05Speaker 8: understands the dynamics of going, wait a minute, this guy
- 29:08Speaker 8: committed tell us you very late in the portal cycle.
- 29:11Speaker 8: He in mont miel and who there's still a buyout
- 29:14Speaker 8: situation kind of looming over over that. This is going
- 29:17Speaker 8: to be something that I think is worth dissecting of, Hey,
- 29:21Speaker 8: why did you see yourself as a better fit knowing
- 29:23Speaker 8: that you had a lot of success in the Pete
- 29:25Speaker 8: Golding defense and knowing that that was a team that
- 29:27Speaker 8: was twenty seconds away from playing for a national championship.
- 29:30Speaker 8: And there are old mis fans who are like, oh,
- 29:31Speaker 8: you wouldn't have played as much, and they're trying to
- 29:34Speaker 8: win that breakup but I think understanding that storyline is
- 29:37Speaker 8: kind of understanding, you know, what is the juiciest plot
- 29:41Speaker 8: in the SEC as a whole, at least his relates
- 29:43Speaker 8: to this offseason.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Now, let's get to our guy, Pete Golding. We were
- 29:48Speaker 3: talking about it earlier. The thing about Pete that I've
- 29:50Speaker 3: always loved, if it comes in Pete's head is coming
- 29:53Speaker 3: out of his mouth. That's the way Pete Golding is.
- 29:55Speaker 3: That's the way he's always been. He is never going
- 29:57Speaker 3: to change. It doesn't matter if he's got a DC
- 29:59Speaker 3: or an eight next to his name. How do you
- 30:02Speaker 3: think it's going to be for Ole Miss head coach
- 30:04Speaker 3: Pete Golding.
- 30:06Speaker 8: I was discussing this with Ben Garrett, who covers all
- 30:09Speaker 8: things Old Miss for on three, and we were debating
- 30:13Speaker 8: if Pete Golding is now the best cusser in college football.
- 30:16Speaker 8: I think he's up there, like I think, Oh.
- 30:18Speaker 3: He's going to what are you putting the over under
- 30:22Speaker 3: on him at the podium cuss words?
- 30:25Speaker 8: You know, I don't want to assume that he's just
- 30:28Speaker 8: gonna let it rip. I'm gonna say it's like four
- 30:31Speaker 8: is the over under.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I was going to say three and a half.
- 30:35Speaker 8: Yeah, He's going to have a few that are going
- 30:38Speaker 8: to come out, and I think it's just not being
- 30:40Speaker 8: in these settings. Let's let's let's not forget this is
- 30:43Speaker 8: the first time he's going to be in a setting
- 30:44Speaker 8: like this with a ton of people that are going
- 30:46Speaker 8: to be chomping at the bit to ask him questions,
- 30:48Speaker 8: hopefully not about protect college sports and whatnot, actually get
- 30:52Speaker 8: to things that matter. But I do think that he's
- 30:55Speaker 8: going to let it fly in ways that we're not
- 30:57Speaker 8: used to seeing. And this is an interesting dynamic too,
- 30:59Speaker 8: with having six coaches in new spots. In the SEC,
- 31:03Speaker 8: there's some young blood like I don't know if you've
- 31:05Speaker 8: if you've picked up on this, half of the coaches
- 31:07Speaker 8: in the SEC were born in the nineteen eighties now,
- 31:10Speaker 8: I mean the youngest or the oldest coach in the
- 31:12Speaker 8: SEC is Brent Venables, the guy who runs stadiums in
- 31:15Speaker 8: his free time. This is a younger dynamic that we're
- 31:18Speaker 8: having in the conference. And so you know, kind of
- 31:21Speaker 8: the ways of old of being you know, always politically
- 31:24Speaker 8: correct that might be going by the wayside, and Pete
- 31:27Speaker 8: Golding might be the best reflection of that.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to it. You're right. It mean it's
- 31:32Speaker 3: gonna be the first setting for Pete and we saw
- 31:35Speaker 3: in the college football playoff run. I mean, Pete is
- 31:38Speaker 3: somebody that's still going to stay true to himself and
- 31:40Speaker 3: I think three and a half I'm probably gonna take
- 31:43Speaker 3: the over there. All right. So you mentioned the young coaches.
- 31:46Speaker 3: There's new coaches all across the SEC, some that are
- 31:49Speaker 3: going to different spots that have been in the SEC,
- 31:51Speaker 3: but there's gonna be a lot of new coaches. If
- 31:54Speaker 3: you take the ole Miss LSU portion out of this connor,
- 31:58Speaker 3: what are you looking forward to? Who are you looking
- 32:00Speaker 3: forward to maybe catching up with that you haven't had
- 32:02Speaker 3: a chance to spend a lot of time around.
- 32:05Speaker 8: I'm interested to see how John Summer all comes across
- 32:08Speaker 8: because you know, and I've said this on off campus,
- 32:12Speaker 8: but one of the things that feels obvious with him
- 32:15Speaker 8: is that he has won the press conference, and he
- 32:18Speaker 8: has made sure from the jump that he was going
- 32:20Speaker 8: to win that press conference. Is he going to continue
- 32:23Speaker 8: to win over people in that room in Tampa? What's
- 32:27Speaker 8: kind of a home field for him, albeit with a
- 32:28Speaker 8: two hour drive from Gainesville. I'm interested to see kind
- 32:31Speaker 8: of how he comes across because he seems as genuine
- 32:34Speaker 8: as the day is long, and he has hit on
- 32:37Speaker 8: all these key points that have been sources of frustration
- 32:40Speaker 8: with the billion Apier era. And I do think that
- 32:42Speaker 8: he's going to bring a new type of energy to
- 32:44Speaker 8: the table. And there are a lot of people that
- 32:46Speaker 8: are looking at the personnel moves that he's made in
- 32:48Speaker 8: this offseason, going dang Florida with the schedule that's finally
- 32:51Speaker 8: not like maybe the toughest in college football. Are they
- 32:54Speaker 8: gonna win eight games this year?
- 32:55Speaker 3: Like?
- 32:55Speaker 8: Are they going to keep their head above water and
- 32:57Speaker 8: actually be in playoff contention? Because they've kind of had
- 33:00Speaker 8: those moments with year one coaches, even if you look
- 33:03Speaker 8: at how much they've struggled post Urban Meyer. So I'm
- 33:06Speaker 8: fascinated to see what it looks like with Summer All.
- 33:08Speaker 8: I think he's gonna win over even more people. And
- 33:11Speaker 8: I haven't been in an in person studying with him
- 33:13Speaker 8: in the way that you have, So I think he's
- 33:15Speaker 8: gonna be one of those guys that comes across and
- 33:17Speaker 8: for those of us who haven't seen it, we're gonna
- 33:19Speaker 8: be like, Okay, I get it, and I get why
- 33:21Speaker 8: people are so high on him.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and again, and I hate doing this because it
- 33:25Speaker 3: is throwing shade at Billy Napier, and that's not my intention.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Billy's personality is just different. Is a different personality. Billy's
- 33:32Speaker 3: never gonna get worked up. Billy was never going to
- 33:35Speaker 3: get behind a microphone and galvanize the crowd. It's just
- 33:37Speaker 3: not who he is. And that's fine. You can be
- 33:39Speaker 3: a great football coach and not do that. John Summer
- 33:42Speaker 3: is a complete opposite. He is going to have everyone
- 33:45Speaker 3: eating out of the palm of his hand. He's going
- 33:47Speaker 3: to be exciting, he's going to be young, energetic. It
- 33:50Speaker 3: is going to be a different feel for Florida. So
- 33:52Speaker 3: just based off that alone, the different personalities, Connor, I
- 33:55Speaker 3: think John's gonna win the room.
- 33:57Speaker 8: I was going to add to that, Billy's never gonna
- 33:59Speaker 8: give up play calling duties, you know, just things like this.
- 34:03Speaker 1: That.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I.
- 34:04Speaker 8: Think we can all look back on his time and
- 34:06Speaker 8: say he made some clear mistakes. He since admitted that.
- 34:09Speaker 8: I saw the story in on three wherein he admitted
- 34:11Speaker 8: such a thing, and I think that that Summer all,
- 34:14Speaker 8: you know, if you're trying to understand like the dynamic
- 34:17Speaker 8: and how unique he is now our school has brought
- 34:20Speaker 8: over what like a dozen players from US staff, brought
- 34:22Speaker 8: over some of those assistants, and it made a lot
- 34:25Speaker 8: of sense that he brought that with him to Auburn,
- 34:27Speaker 8: who I don't know if you've noticed this, but they've
- 34:29Speaker 8: endured their worst five year stretch since the Harry Truman administration.
- 34:33Speaker 8: And meanwhile, Florida is also in this you know, decade
- 34:36Speaker 8: of dysfunction, so to speak. Shut up Mark Nagy for that,
- 34:39Speaker 8: and they are in a much different place with this
- 34:42Speaker 8: year one rebuild, having just brought over a punter and
- 34:44Speaker 8: a kicker from two lane. That's it. So there's more
- 34:48Speaker 8: than one way to skin a cat. I don't know
- 34:50Speaker 8: who these sikos are who are out here skinning cats,
- 34:52Speaker 8: but lord knows there are different philosophies for year one success,
- 34:56Speaker 8: and those two coming from very similar backgrounds in the
- 34:59Speaker 8: American doing it in entirely different ways. And I'm interested
- 35:02Speaker 8: to kind of see how they go about their Year
- 35:03Speaker 8: one business.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Catching up, brother, I got Connor o gera host of
- 35:08Speaker 3: the OG kickoff now with the Fellas over at the
- 35:11Speaker 3: next round live, Connor Vanderbilt is interesting to me as well.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Nobody's talking about him yet again. The last two years,
- 35:21Speaker 3: they've been a really good football team. Diego Paby is
- 35:24Speaker 3: no longer on the squad, and it feels like everything
- 35:27Speaker 3: they built up over the last two years has just
- 35:30Speaker 3: gone out the window. Everybody's just assuming they're going to
- 35:33Speaker 3: be back to same old Vanderbilt. At least that's the
- 35:35Speaker 3: vibe that I get. Are you getting the same vibe?
- 35:38Speaker 3: And is clark Le gonna yet again be able to
- 35:40Speaker 3: fly under the radar and just punch teams in the mouth.
- 35:44Speaker 8: It's so difficult to process because yes, Diego Papy, I mean,
- 35:48Speaker 8: let's call it what it is. He's the difference maker.
- 35:51Speaker 8: This new Mexico state migration that we saw take place
- 35:53Speaker 8: over the last two years has been so transformative in
- 35:57Speaker 8: ways that we never could have imagined in Nashville. But
- 36:00Speaker 8: the thing that's so difficult to process is that while
- 36:03Speaker 8: Clark Lee is coming off this historically great season, he's
- 36:07Speaker 8: also two and twenty two in SEC games in which
- 36:10Speaker 8: Diego Pavia is not his QB one, and so that looms.
- 36:14Speaker 8: You know, we've seen what it looks like with two
- 36:15Speaker 8: winless seasons in SEC play without Diego Pavia, and I
- 36:20Speaker 8: think that if you're trying to figure out what's the
- 36:22Speaker 8: path back to being able to be a six to seven,
- 36:25Speaker 8: eight win team. It's Tim Back. It's Tim Back running
- 36:28Speaker 8: that offense and doing things that I think frustrated a
- 36:31Speaker 8: lot of defensive coordinators of the course of the last
- 36:33Speaker 8: two years. He is still there. So can he work
- 36:35Speaker 8: his magic with what we expect to be a true
- 36:38Speaker 8: freshman starting quarterback? And Jared Curtis, who at this point
- 36:41Speaker 8: in his life has more appearances in feature films than
- 36:44Speaker 8: he does SEC football games, so that will soon change.
- 36:48Speaker 3: But what does that look like?
- 36:49Speaker 8: That's going to determine how good they are in this
- 36:52Speaker 8: post Diego Pavia world. But you're right, man, nobody is
- 36:54Speaker 8: talking about them whatsoever, despite the fact that they're coming
- 36:57Speaker 8: off this great ten and two season in which they
- 37:00Speaker 8: felt like they should have been in the playoff discussion.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Well, now you've got my attention, and I'm embarrassed because
- 37:07Speaker 3: this feels like something OTV should absolutely know. What feature
- 37:11Speaker 3: film was Jared Curtison The.
- 37:13Speaker 8: Bread Winner with Nate Barghetti. Yes, feature film came out
- 37:17Speaker 8: Mandy Moore as a coast.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Right, Nate's aig, you're right now, it's it's it's tickling
- 37:23Speaker 3: something in the brain. I'm remembering this a little bit. Now,
- 37:26Speaker 3: You're right, You're right.
- 37:27Speaker 8: Look, I'm just saying I have not been able to
- 37:30Speaker 8: see it yet. I'm a I'm a huge Nate Barghetti
- 37:33Speaker 8: fan and real fans. No, it's Barghetti, not Bargatzi.
- 37:36Speaker 3: That's one for the people you and your pronunciations.
- 37:39Speaker 8: Look, I saw him live in Orlando. I've seen his
- 37:42Speaker 8: daughter introduces him at every single show, and I've always
- 37:45Speaker 8: paid attention like it's it's Barghetti. But like, I'm fascinated
- 37:49Speaker 8: with Jared Curtis and how this works out this year,
- 37:51Speaker 8: because that kind of raised the eyebrows when we're like,
- 37:54Speaker 8: wait a minute, his NIL deal is connected to being in,
- 37:57Speaker 8: you know, an actual movie that's not just straight to streaming,
- 38:00Speaker 8: but it's in real theaters and people are seeing it.
- 38:02Speaker 8: And yet this is someone you know, like I think
- 38:05Speaker 8: a lot of people are gonna be rooting against him
- 38:06Speaker 8: because of the Georgia thing, like picking Dandy over Georgia
- 38:09Speaker 8: the past through media playtime. So yeah, he's kind of
- 38:12Speaker 8: quietly one of the more interesting people in the SEC
- 38:14Speaker 8: this year, even though he will unfortunately not be at
- 38:16Speaker 8: SEC media days.
- 38:17Speaker 3: All Right, last one Connor Connor Oger, our guests, you're
- 38:20Speaker 3: always good enough to join us. Give me the pronunciation
- 38:24Speaker 3: of a player in the SEC. It can be at
- 38:28Speaker 3: media days. It doesn't have to be that everybody's going
- 38:30Speaker 3: to mess up and you're gonna judge us every single
- 38:33Speaker 3: time that we do it.
- 38:34Speaker 8: Oh, that's a good one. That's a really good one.
- 38:39Speaker 3: On top of them.
- 38:40Speaker 8: I know I'm looking at the list right now and
- 38:43Speaker 8: there aren't a ton that kind of come to mind here.
- 38:48Speaker 8: That's what we are gonna mistakenly say, just Ryan Williams
- 38:52Speaker 8: instead of Ryan Colman Williams. Let's remember that the name
- 38:54Speaker 8: change on that one. That's definitely one that's gonna come up.
- 38:58Speaker 8: And then how about let's go with Keewan Lacey because
- 39:04Speaker 8: everybody wants to say everybody wants to say, like Kewan Lacey.
- 39:09Speaker 8: It's Keewan Keewan Lacey. Emphasis on the key part of it.
- 39:14Speaker 8: There's definitely some of these you're putting me on the
- 39:16Speaker 8: spot here.
- 39:17Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no, I mean you're just you're
- 39:19Speaker 3: always on top of it. Nobody knows pronunciation is better
- 39:22Speaker 3: than you do. And so like if there's a guy
- 39:25Speaker 3: I usually come to you to make sure I'm saying
- 39:27Speaker 3: it right. And so Kewan Lacey is going to be
- 39:29Speaker 3: the one.
- 39:30Speaker 8: How about Isaiah Stana. He's not going to be at
- 39:33Speaker 8: SEC media Days, but we did an SEC wide receiver
- 39:36Speaker 8: draft of like, who's going to be the most productive.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Guys is here?
- 39:38Speaker 8: I took them number one overall in our draft coming
- 39:41Speaker 8: off the year that he had at Oklahoma. But he's
- 39:42Speaker 8: a guy that more people should be talking about. He's
- 39:44Speaker 8: not going to be at SEC media Days, but he's
- 39:47Speaker 8: definitely worthy of this discussion. Yeah, there's look at just
- 39:51Speaker 8: the running back position in general. Learn learn these guys names.
- 39:54Speaker 8: Cedric Alexander is one that people are going to probably
- 39:56Speaker 8: mess up. He's he's got hester written all over him.
- 39:59Speaker 8: With his running style, He's going to be the focus
- 40:02Speaker 8: of that you talk about. We had a lot of
- 40:04Speaker 8: discussion about Vandy Day that I didn't expect. He's one
- 40:09Speaker 8: of these guys that's actually going to be at ICC
- 40:10Speaker 8: media Days. Six running backs will be there after the
- 40:13Speaker 8: last two years combined. Before this year, we had one
- 40:16Speaker 8: running back there and it was Montreal Johnson Junior. And
- 40:19Speaker 8: now we're going to have six this year. Some are
- 40:21Speaker 8: calling it return of the back in the SEC. I
- 40:24Speaker 8: am very much calling that. You can steal that if
- 40:26Speaker 8: you want.
- 40:26Speaker 3: I will cite my source the first time and then
- 40:29Speaker 3: it's mine. Connor. We appreciate it, sir, looking forward to
- 40:32Speaker 3: seeing you down in Tampa.
- 40:34Speaker 8: Thanks man, appreciate it all right.
- 40:36Speaker 3: That is Connor O Gera. Now you can catch him
- 40:39Speaker 3: on the OG kickoff was with Saturday down South for
- 40:41Speaker 3: a long time. Now with the guys there in Birmingham
- 40:44Speaker 3: at the next round live all right, we will step
- 40:47Speaker 3: away more OTB when we come back here live from
- 40:50Speaker 3: the Raisin Kine studio. Off the bench, all right. If
- 40:56Speaker 3: you are looking for a bank that still believes in
- 40:59Speaker 3: first service, well that's exactly what you'll find with our
- 41:02Speaker 3: friends over at First American Bank and Trust. For more
- 41:05Speaker 3: than a century, they've been helping families and businesses across

- 41:29Speaker 3: not what they do. It's all about local, it's all
- 41:31Speaker 3: about Louisiana. You are a face, you are a name,

- 42:44Speaker 3: it's outside, it's outside, it's inside, and sometimes it's a
- 42:47Speaker 3: little bit of both. Well, I didn't know it was
- 42:50Speaker 3: gonna be both. I gotta be honest with you. Brandon
- 42:52Speaker 3: Barton and the team knew it was gonna be a
- 42:54Speaker 3: little bit of both. They put an outdoor motorized screen
- 42:56Speaker 3: on our back patio and during football season. We found
- 43:00Speaker 3: out it's going to shade the entire living room on
- 43:03Speaker 3: Sundays when we're watching football all day. Right, you take
- 43:06Speaker 3: the glare off the TV, it cools down the living
- 43:08Speaker 3: room and they knew exactly what to install at our home.
- 43:11Speaker 3: They're gonna know it for you as well. Okay to
- 43:12Speaker 3: see Blind's dot com. You know my favorite parts about
- 43:21Speaker 3: Media Day when somebody bombs Media Day. I know it's
- 43:25Speaker 3: not the way that we should, you know, think about it,
- 43:28Speaker 3: and it's tough, But like Deshaun Foster when you get
- 43:31Speaker 3: there for UCLA, y'all, I enjoy that more than anything.
- 43:36Speaker 3: And look, we've all been in those situations. We've all
- 43:38Speaker 3: been in front of a crowd where we've had to
- 43:40Speaker 3: give a speech or talk or you know, it's not easy.
- 43:43Speaker 3: I'm not saying it is. But the reason I say
- 43:46Speaker 3: that I enjoy it because I'm about prepping for those
- 43:51Speaker 3: situations and you got to be ready, and you got
- 43:54Speaker 3: to go over it so many times that if you
- 43:56Speaker 3: don't have notes, it's so second nature to you that
- 43:59Speaker 3: you find a way to be entertaining. But when you
- 44:02Speaker 3: think that you're going to do it without prepping, and
- 44:05Speaker 3: you get exposed it's always I'm like, a should have
- 44:10Speaker 3: put in the work there, Bud. We're also the team
- 44:12Speaker 3: in Los Angeles, the other one, the other team Los Angeles.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Uh so, uh yeah, that didn't last very long, Foster.
- 44:24Speaker 2: But you gotta see it coming out there at the
- 44:25Speaker 2: press conference.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Yeah, there's gonna be some new coaches in the SEC
- 44:29Speaker 3: that I'm gonna be intrigued by. See when once they
- 44:32Speaker 3: get up there on that podium and they struggle.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Silverfield is the one I'm watching because he's got a
- 44:36Speaker 4: tough question. Because Arkanitol's roster, Like I was telling you earlier,
- 44:40Speaker 4: watch a lot of SEC football. I even never heard
- 44:42Speaker 4: of the three humans Arkansas is sending SEC media days,
- 44:45Speaker 4: it's gonna be tough for him year one. And he
- 44:47Speaker 4: said a lot of stuff in the off season about hey,
- 44:50Speaker 4: look I don't I don't know if our roster is
- 44:51Speaker 4: good enough to compete in the SEC yet, like, well
- 44:54Speaker 4: we'll see what we got. So with him saying that
- 44:57Speaker 4: leading up to media days, that'll be.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Interesting, all right, I'm gonna be honest with you. I
- 45:05Speaker 3: feel like, is this what Flynn feels like when he
- 45:07Speaker 3: looks at the Arkansas players going to media day and
- 45:09Speaker 3: has no idea. I don't like this feeling because that's
- 45:12Speaker 3: what I'm feeling right now. Who are these people?
- 45:14Speaker 2: Not even their running back? Who's Sutton Smith.
- 45:22Speaker 3: I'm sure mister and miss Smith know came with.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Him from Memphis.
- 45:25Speaker 3: I'm looking at my up. Ah okay, all right, well
- 45:28Speaker 3: we're coming back hour number three atbo TV. Off the bench,

- 45:49Speaker 3: Star Wars cards as we speak. Man, go enjoy your vacation.
- 45:52Speaker 3: What are you doing you nerd U? Go to go
- 45:55Speaker 3: Tommy's dot Com Tommy's Windows Scores Insiting Award winning every
